The Democrats and the Media Want War With Russia. Why?

When I saw this headline, I assumed it had to be about Peter Strzok. – Man arrested for contacting ex-girlfriend 200 times per day.

Let me guess – because you’re an idiot and an awful mother? – A British fake journalist named Rebecca Schiller wrote a piece for the UK Guardian titled “Why I took my 8 year-old daughter on an anti-Trump protest.”  Good grief.

Tired of all this Winning yet? – A few minutes ago, the President tweeted the following:

Four percent economic growth.  Four percent unemployment.  ISIS is about 98 percent dead.  The price of gasoline is going down because the President leaned on the Saudis to put more crude oil on the open market.  The Crazy Little Fat Guy in North Korea has been neutralized.  The U.S. is now back on a path towards a productive relationship with Russia.  The Supreme Court will soon have a working majority that will consistently respect the U.S. Constitution for the first time in two generations.

All this and so much more has been achieved in just 20 months, and it is driving the Democrat/fake news media axis of propaganda utterly mad.

Profiles in how not to do public relations, courtesy of MGM Resorts. – The families of the victims of last October’s Las Vegas massacre have a real reason to be outraged, as they were all sued on Monday by the raving morons who run MGM Resorts, which of course owns the Mandalay Bay Casino Resort from which the Vegas gunman killed or wounded more than 500 people.  I swear I don’t make this stuff up:

“The company, which owns Mandalay Bay and the Route 91 Harvest festival venue, argues that it cannot be held liable for Oct. 1 deaths, injuries or other damages, adding that any claims against MGM parties “must be dismissed,” according to complaints filed Friday in Nevada and California.”

Mind you, this is the same Mandalay Bay whose miserably incompetent security allowed the shooter to spirit something like 20 huge suitcases filled with guns and ammo up to his room over a period of several days using the freaking freight elevator, for crying out loud.  For this company to now claim that it has no liability in this mass shooting is just despicable, and so unbelievably stupid from a PR aspect that I honestly hope they get put out of business for it.  A pox on all their houses.

Oh, and here’s another tweet that President Trump just posted that’s worth mentioning:

This tweet is worth mentioning because it’s absolutely true, pointing to a reality that constitutes one of the most frightening aspects of our current political dynamic in Washington.  It’s not just that the President’s opponents oppose his outreach to Putin and Russia in a quest for political advantage – it’s far more than that.

For two years now I’ve been periodically writing about the obvious desire among the Democrat Party, most of the major news media and the warmonger faction among the Republicans in congress to actively seek a shooting war with Russia.  It is hard to grasp what the motivation behind this desire actually is, but there is no question have been viscerally opposed to any effort by President Trump to establish a more productive working relationship with the world’s only other major nuclear superpower.

This attitude and rhetorical dynamic came into focus when it became obvious that Donald Trump would be the GOP presidential nominee.  Given that Trump was the only candidate advocating for better relations with Russia, and that Putin was at the time still interfering in the affairs of the Ukraine, it would have made sense for the Pantsuit Princess and her amen chorus in the fake news media to develop counter talking points to that position.

But that’s not what happened.  What happened instead was the creation of an unending and steadily escalating drumbeat of rank hostility towards Russia from the same quarters of the Washington DC establishment that had just a few years before applauded the Coughing Crook for her juvenile “Reset Button” outreach to Putin and Russia.

This hostile clamor against any positive outreach towards Putin and Russia has now grown into claims of “treason” hurled at the President of the United States from noted Obama-era bad actors like John Brennan, James Clapper, Jim Comey and the Fainting Felon herself.  The leftwing rag Politico even published a piece on Monday openly advocating for the U.S. to declare war on Russia.  Breathtaking.

Hey, wait a minute:  Think about what other Russia-related events those people all have in common:

  • The “hacking” of the DNC servers, which the DNC (then run by the Clinton Campaign) refused to allow the FBI to properly investigate, prompting then-FBI Director James Comey to shrug his shoulders and say, “oh, ok.”; and
  • The Uranium One transaction, in which 20% of U.S. uranium reserves were sold to a Putin front Russian company in exchange for hundreds of millions of dollars flowing into the Clinton Foundation;

We now know that the Uranium One transaction was signed off on by much of the senior leadership of the Obama Administration at the time.  And of course, we know that the Clinton/Obama amen chorus in our fake news media ignored and even helped to facilitate the transaction with justifying coverage of it over the last 7 years.

Putin knows exactly what happened in both of those cases – is it any wonder, then, that all of these people would be horrified at the thought of President Trump holding a private meeting with Putin for 90 minutes in a neutral country?  Can we doubt that these people would gladly go to outright war with Russia in order to avoid real accountability for their actions?

This is the only explanation I can come up with for the years-long, outright advocacy for going to war with a country that has not attacked the United States in any real way – Russia has been meddling in U.S. elections for 50 years, so please don’t bring up their meddling in 2016 – and which possesses a nuclear arsenal comparable to our own.

This is not just “Trump Derangement Syndrome”, though that does play a big part in it.  More to the point, this is “Self-Preservation Syndrome” on the part of a pack of really bad people who have betrayed our country on such a grand scale that it is almost unimaginable.  If these seem like really desperate people to you, well, that’s likely because they are really desperate people.

Just another day in the truth will ultimately come out America.

How to Read Wednesday’s Trump Tweet About Jeff Sessions

Let’s dissect a tweet issued by President Trump earlier today.  Here it is:

Attorney General Sessions issued the following statement a bit later:

“We have initiated the appropriate process that will ensure complaints against this Department will be fully and fairly acted upon if necessary,” Mr. Sessions said in his statement. “As long as I am the Attorney General, I will continue to discharge my duties with integrity and honor, and this Department will continue to do its work in a fair and impartial manner according to the law and Constitution.”

So, sounds like the Attorney General is back in the President’s doghouse, and that he’s pretty irritated with being called out by Mr. Trump in that way, right?  On the surface, that’s exactly what it sounds like.

But let’s think about what lies beneath the surface in this situation.

First, why not use Justice Department lawyers to investigate the…well, the Justice Department?  After all, that’s who was abusing the FISA process, at least according to the findings published by the House Intelligence Committee and the Senate Judiciary Committee.  That would be sort of a conflict of interest, wouldn’t it?  Don’t you think the President, who spent 50 years in the business world, understands the concept of conflict of interest?  Of course he does.

Second, those DOJ lawyers have a pretty big investigation load going on already related to abuses during the Obama era.  Remember, over a 3-week period in December and January, AG Sessions announced his DOJ lawyers would be investigating Uranium One, the FBI’s sham investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email servers, the Clinton Foundation, and the Obama Administration’s refusal to prosecute members of the terrorist group Hezbollah in the interest of propping up its deal with Iran.  Don’t you think the President is aware of all of those ongoing investigations?  Of course he is.

Third, the IG is already investigating FBI and DOJ abuses in the investigation of the Clinton email scandal.  Oh, and by the way, the Hillary Clinton email scandal is directly linked to the FISA abuse scandal, given that both involve several of the same players at FBI, guys with names like Strzok, McCabe and Comey.  It is extremely likely that, during the course of his year-long investigation, IG Michael Horowitz has already been investigating the abuse of the FISA process – he could hardly help coming across evidence of wrongdoing in that case.  Don’t you think the President is aware of all of that?  Of course he is.

Fourth, yes, the IG does not have prosecutorial powers.  However, he does have the power to make criminal referrals to the Attorney General.  What is going to have more public credibility – indictments issued by the Republican DOJ attorneys working for a Republican AG, or indictments sought by the Republican AG on the advice of an IG who….

Fifth, yes IG Horowitz was appointed by Barack Hussein Obama, as the President conveniently reminds us in his tweet.

Sixth, while the fake news media and #neverTrump people who have been wrong about everything for the last three years always claim that the President just belches these things out on Twitter without giving them a moment’s thought, the truth is that we have found out repeatedly that there is pretty much always a method to his seeming madness; and

Seventh, there is this passage from the Sessions statement: “… this Department will continue to do its work in a fair and impartial manner according to the law and Constitution.”  What could be more fair and impartial and in accordance with the law than relying on an Obama appointee with a spotless reputation for fairness and impartiality to conduct these investigations?  And who, by the way, every Democrat talking head on TV will spend the next week defending, precisely because of the President’s exchange with his Attorney General today.

 

Let me speculate what the method behind this particular tweet and the AG’s response might be:

  • I expect we are about to see IG Horowitz issue his report on his 14 month investigation into the Clinton email scandal soon, as in no later than a week from now;
  • I expect we are going to discover that his 14-month investigation covered a lot more ground than just the email scandal, and will likely include findings related to Uranium One, the Clinton Foundation and other matters that were very interrelated to the email scandal;
  • I expect the report will contain a raft of criminal referrals, and that AG Sessions will promptly act on those referrals;
  • I expect the fake news media is going to wail in protest and will naturally go after Horowitz,  but is going to have a pretty hard time convincing the public that the guy who was appointed by Barack Obama just spent 14 months dummying up a report at the behest of Donald Trump;
  • I expect that the President is actually pretty pleased with Sessions, and that if he was really as upset with his AG as he has pretended to be over the last 14 months and as mercurial as the fake news media like to portray him as being, he’d have fired Sessions in a fit of pique long ago.

That’s a lot of expectations out of a single tweet and a one-paragraph response, but as I said above, the President really doesn’t just toss stuff like this out onto his Twitter account for no reason.

Princess Pantsuit Clarifies Why She Is Above Our Country’s Laws

  • Pigs and People flying together – MASS HYSTERIA! – The UK Sun carries a report today about a woman who was kicked off a U. S. Airways flight on Wednesday when her “support” animal began to act up after she had boarded the plane.  No, it wasn’t a support dog, or a support cat;  the animal is in fact a “support” PIG.
  • Note to airlines:  When you have started allowing lunatics to bring pigs onto your airplanes claiming they are “support” animals, you are the problem, not the lunatics.  Stop being the problem, and start being part of the solution, which is DON’T LET PEOPLE ON YOUR PLANES WITH FREAKING PIGS.  Thank you.
  • In case you missed it amid all the other craziness being foisted on our society by our poisonous fake news media, California’s nut Governor Jerry Brown inadvertently spilled the beans about the whole “Climate Change” religion at the climate conference hosted last week by the Vatican.  Participating in a panel discussion along with several of the other Cardinals of the Church of Climate Change, Gov. Brown stated “At the highest circles, people still don’t get it,” Brown said. “It’s not just a light rinse” that’s required. “We need a total, I might say, ‘brainwashing.’  We need to wash our brains out and see a very different kind of world.”
  • Note to Jerry Brown:  Nazism requires brainwashing.  Communism requires brainwashing.  If your ‘science’ requires brainwashing to be believed by the people, it probably isn’t much of a scientific endeavor at all.
  • I wrote on Wednesday about the fake news media ramping up its efforts to protect Hillary Clinton from being held accountable for all of her crimes against our country, and like clockwork, once the media had laid the groundwork for the argument that any investigation into her crimes conducted by the Justice Department would be an abuse of power, here came the Coughing Crook herself, reciting the exact same talking points in a softball interview with a fake reporter from Mother Jones.
  • “This is such an abuse of power,” the Prevaricating Petunia said in response to a question about AG Jeff Sessions revelation that he is considering the appointment of a special counsel to perform a real investigation over her myriad scandals, “I regret deeply that this appears to be the politicization of the Justice Department and our justice system.”  Now, that is awesome right there, folks.  This is a woman who served in the Obama Administration along with Attorney General Eric Holder.  To accuse anyone else of “politicizing” the Justice Department displays a special kind of shameless.  But hey, this is a Clinton we’re talking about here, so…
  • But it gets better:  “I’m not concerned, because I know that there is no basis to it,” she said. “I regret if they do it because it will be such a disastrous step to politicizing the justice system. And at the end of the day, nothing will come of it, but it will, you know, cause a lot of terrible consequences that we might live with for a really long time.”
  • Wait, by terrible consequences, do you mean like the terrible consequences that might accrue to our country when a Secretary of State facilitates the trading of 20% of our country’s uranium resources in exchange for $145 million in contributions to her fake foundation?  Or do you mean like the terrible consequences that might accrue to our country from the release of national security secrets by a Secretary of State who is using a private email system in order to cover the tracks left by all the unethical and illegal activity she is engaged in?  Or do you mean like the terrible consequences that might have accrued to our country from a presidential campaign and the DNC spending $12 million colluding with Russian agents to compile a fake dossier slandering her opponent?  Those kinds of terrible consequences?
  • Sadly, we’ll never know the answers to those questions since the fake Mother Jones reporter had no intention of straying from his script and posing any inquiries that might make the Fainting Felon uncomfortable.  But then again, we already really do know, don’t we?

The Fake Media Campaign To Protect Hillary Clinton Ramps Up To Full Force

  • So, the narrative in the fake news media now is that it would somehow be inappropriate for the Justice Department to investigate President Trump’s “political opponent”, Hillary Rotten, er, Rodham Clinton.  That is the theme advanced by NBC’s Chuck Todd and two other fake reporters in a piece published a NBC.com on Tuesday.
  • To no one’s surprise, this piece – which simply advances the narrative being pushed jointly by the fake media at large and the rest of the Democrat Party – ignores the fact that as of today, Hillary Clinton is in fact no one’s political opponent.  She’s not running for anything, and has announced that she does not plan to run for anything in the future.  Thus, labeling her as the President’s “political opponent” is just a canard designed to make this life-long criminal immune from any prosecution at all.
  • The piece also ignores the fact that two of Hillary Clinton’s looming scandals germinated long before the 2016 election campaign.  The Uranium One scandal and her scandal involving illegal distribution of classifed information via her private email server date to her time as Secretary of State, and the years prior to that.  An immense amount of evidence exists in the public record today that she likely did in fact violate many federal laws related to these two scandals, and in fact most likely would have long ago been prosecuted if she were not a member of the nation’s protected political class.
  • Despite Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ hemming and hawing on Tuesday about whether there is sufficient evidence around either of these major scandals to warrant the appointment of a special counsel to investigate them (more on that in a moment), there would nothing at all improper were the Department of Justice to conduct a thorough investigation into a scandal (Uranium One) that ended with the sale of 20% of our nation’s uranium resources to Russian companies.  And the thought that Hillary Clinton or anyone else who serves in any presidential administration is somehow immune from prosecution for illegally sharing national security secrets on public servers is so absurd as to not deserve serious comment.  It’s abject nonsense that, taken to its logical conclusion, means that Todd and his fellow Democrats with press passes believe that the Fainting Felon is simply above the law, and that the country can have no national security at all.
  • The third major scandal in which The Coughing Crook is currently entangled involves the fact – and we know it to be an absolute fact at this point – that her campaign and the DNC colluded with Fusion GPS, a former British spy, and Russian agents to compile the fake Trump Dossier during the presidential campaign.  To contend, as Todd and his fellow fake journalists do, that Mrs. Clinton should somehow be exempt from the same investigation into Russian collusion that has now been targeting the Trump campaign for the last 6 months is bizarrely stupid and simply defies logic.
  • But hey, when have fake journalists like Chuck Todd ever allowed pesky things like facts and logic get in the way of their shilling for the Clintons and Obamas?  It’s how these people make their livings.
  • Now, let’s talk about Mr. Sessions’ unwillingness to say, in an exchange with Republican Rep. Jim Jordan during his testimony yesterday, whether or when he will name a special counsel to investigate all of the Pantsuit Princess’s alleged crimes.  While that answer is frustrating to those who want to see justice served, it’s important to understand the full context in which the Attorney General is operating.  In addition to having to determine whether or not sufficient factual evidence exists against the accused to warrant an investigation by a special counsel, DOJ must also determine that such an investigation cannot be adequately performed within the Department of Justice itself.
  • One major reason why a special counsel was appointed to investigation the whole media/Democrat Trump/Russia collusion fantasy was because it allegedly involved the sitting President who had appointed Mr. Sessions to become Attorney General and Rosenstein as his Deputy.  That is a clear conflict of interest that could only be avoided with the appointment of a special counsel.
  • No similar conflict exists where Hillary Clinton is concerned.  Thus, assuming this isn’t all being done just for show, General Sessions could well decide that a special counsel is not necessary because a full and fair investigation can be conducted at DOJ itself.
  • This is how the system is set up to work, like it or not.  All the rest of us can do is wait and see what happens, hoping against hope that Mr. Sessions can finally prove himself to be worthy of the job he holds.

Sessions’ Involvement of Rosenstein Dooms The Preliminary Uranium One Inquiry to Failure

  • I have some good news, and I have some bad news for you all today.
  • The first bit of good news is that scientists have announced that they have discovered “the world’s oldest wine” in fragments of clay jars at an archaeological site near Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia.  Upon hearing of the find, Wine Spectator immediately awarded the 8,000 year old wine a grade of 95, saying it has  hints of must with little flecks of clay throughout and a decidedly vinegary finish.
  • There is no good news for Alabama senate candidate Roy Moore.  If you’re still out there defending Mr. Moore, despite the allegations that keep piling up against him, you might want to take a step back.  Yes, this stinks of a political hit job by the fake journalists at the Washington Post.  Yes, the latest accuser’s decision to associate herself with the despicable Gloria Allred is a red flag.  Yes, all of these allegations happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.  But…
  • But despite all of those warning signals and red flags and evil lawyers, you need to keep in mind that the original story in the WaPo did not rely solely on the statements from the four women involved.  The reporters who filed the report also talked to dozens of other locals, many of whom told the same story of then-County Attorney/District Attorney Roy Moore dating a series of girls who were still in high school.  If the spectre of a guy in his 30s hanging around high school dances and diners where high school students congregated or worked at the time picking up girls isn’t enough to tip you off, there’s also the fact that, in his now-famous interview with Sean Hannity last Friday, Moore would not deny dating high school girls while in his 30s, repeating a Bill Clinton-ish non-denial that it “would have been outside of my normal behavior.”  Folks, that means “yes”.
  • And if all of that isn’t enough to tip you off that something very odd was going on with Mr. Moore back during the Carter Administration, then consider that the tireless Donald Trump supporter Judge Jeanine Pirro, on Hannity’s TV show last night, went completely off on Judge Moore, based on the reality that we now have five completely unconnected women independently telling contemporaneous stories of the same odd behavior.
  • Mr. Moore may still win his election because the WaPo has long ago surrendered the last shred of credibility with most of the people of Alabama, but if this were a court case, he’d pretty much be toast right now.
  • But the big news of the day on Monday came late in the afternoon, when it was reported that our thus-far useless Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, may have finally received enough pressure from GOP members of congress and others to do the right thing in the Uranium One scandal.  Maybe.  The report – which must be taken with a grain of salt since it also comes from the WaPo – claims that Mr. Sessions is “considering” the appointment of a second special counsel to investigate what was an obvious sale of 20% of America’s uranium assets to Russian interests in exchange for well over $100 million in bribes…er, “contributions” to the Clinton Foundation from those same Russian entities.
  • But don’t get overly excited yet.  Even if the WaPo story is true, all it really says is that General Sessions has directed some DOJ “investigators” to look into the various allegations of wrongdoing and report back to him and his highly suspect Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein with recommendations as to whether a special counsel is warranted for this case.  Note that it took the eager Mr. Rosenstein about 3 seconds to appoint his old running buddy Robert Mueller to “investigate” allegations of Russian collusion when they targeted a sitting President, but we must have a formal, weeks-long preliminary “investigation” when the allegations involve the Clintons and Obamas.  But that’s not the only problem with Rosenstein’s involvement in this review.
  • We must also remember that Rosenstein, at the time the Russians were throwing millions into the Clinton Foundation and allegedly bribing all sorts of other people to get their uranium concession approved by the Obama Administration, was actually a U.S. attorney who was involved in the original fake investigation of the matter, along with …wait for it…oh, you gotta wait for this one…none other than ROBERT MUELLER, who was then the Director of the FBI.
  • So now, while Mueller, thanks to Rosenstein’s appointment, is occupied with conducting what many view as a slow-rolling coup d’etat in his special counsel “investigation”, the Attorney General has decided to also involve Rosenstein, who participated in the fake investigation of Uranium One six years ago, in the decision-making over whether to conduct a real investigation into the matter.  I’ll give you one guess as to what Rosenstein’s recommendation to the AG will inevitably be.
  • So, the good news is that Mr. Sessions has decided to at least make a token effort to do the right thing in at least one of the various major scandals swirling around Hillary Clinton.  The bad news is that, unless Sessions suddenly finds the previously-undisplayed guts to overrule his swamp creature Deputy AG, a token is all this effort will be.  A real Attorney General who was really interested in doing his job would force Rosenstein to recuse himself from this inquiry, citing his obvious conflicts of interest.

Chuck Grassley Yanks All The RINO Fingers Out Of The Obama/Clinton Corruption Dike

  • Tired of all this winning yet? – the fake news media are now eating their own.  Ain’t it great?  On Wednesday, the fake journalists at CNN, desperate to find a way to climb out of their perpetual third place position behind MSNBC and Fox News, ran a story alleging that MSNBC regular contributor Mark Halperin has been charged with harassment by no fewer than five women.  CNN’s own lineup of pompous fake male TV hosts better hope that their own behavior in the workplace has been pure as the driven snow over the years, because you can bet their fake counterparts at MSNBC will out looking for some allegation of their own in the wake of this take-down of Halperin.  It’s so great when horrible people start a war with one another.  It’s like watching a football game between the Eagles and the Redskins.
  • In the market for even more winning now? – Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has now called for the Justice Department to appoint a new special counsel to investigate the ballooning Uranium One scandal.  On Fox News this morning, Sen. Grassley expressed his concern that current Special Counsel Robert Mueller is “conflicted” on this matter, given information that has come to light that the details of the scandal were kept hidden from the public by the FBI when he led that agency during 2009 and 2010.  “Conflicted” is a very kind word for Mueller’s situation related to this matter.
  • Grassley took a shot at Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who recused himself from being involved in any investigations related to allegations the Trump Campaign had somehow “colluded” with Russia, tweeting “Whoever in DOJ is capable w authority to appoint a special counsel shld do so to investigate Uranium One “whoever” means if u aren’t recused”.  Ouch.  But Sessions has no legitimate reason for expanding his idiotic recusal to Uranium One, given that the events related to it took place many years before the 2016 presidential contest.
  • We already know we cannot trust Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to act appropriately here.  After all, he’s the guy who selected the hopelessly conflicted Mueller – best friend of key witness James Comey, and a running buddy of Rosenstein’s to boot – to investigate the whole Trump/Russia fantasy in the first place.  Plus, he was working as a U.S. Attorney under Obama AG Eric Holder during the time period in which the Uranium One scandal took place, and has his own potential conflicts related to the matter.
  • No, this is a decision Mr. Sessions must make himself, and a formal request for a special counsel from the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee carries with it a weight that will be hard to ignore.  It really is long past time for Jeff Sessions to do his job.
  • Speaking of Jeff Sessions doing his job, his Justice Department on Wednesday did lift its long-standing gag order that has prevented a supposed key witness in the Uranium One money laundering scheme to testify before congressional committees investigating the scandal.  In a statement,  DOJ spokesman Ian Prior said the the informant was authorized to disclose to the congressional leaders of three committees “any information or documents he has concerning alleged corruption or bribery involving transactions in the uranium market, including but not limited to anything related to Vadim Mikerin, Rosatom, Tenex, Uranium One, or the Clinton Foundation.”
  • This scandal, suppressed successfully by the Obama Justice Department for seven long years, is now taking on a life of its own, and Senator Grassley, with his well-earned reputation for impartiality, has become the key player.  Once Grassley weighed in with his request to DOJ, it made the scandal impossible for Democrats and RINOs like Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr to contain.  After spending the last 10 months helping to facilitate the Democrat/news media Trump/Russia collusion fantasy play, even Mr. Burr will be forced to start taking a serious look at all the massive wrongdoing and lawlessness that took place during the Obama Administration.  Thus, we can expect other Obama-era scandals like the thousands of unwarranted unmasking requests by senior officials and the real progeny of the fake Trump Dossier to become the subject of more intense scrutiny by congressional committees.
  • The dam on Clinton/Obama corruption has burst, and we can thank Senator Grassley for having yanked all the RINO fingers out of the dike.

The Russia Uranium Story Is A Chance For Our Useless Attorney General To Finally Step Up To The Plate

Today’s Campaign Update

  • Our thus-far useless Attorney General Jeff Sessions will likely finally be put on the spot today, as he testifies before the Senate Judiciary Committee.  Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley is expected to question Sessions about his knowledge of a Russian bribery scheme that took place during the early Obama years, and involved kickbacks to government officials and massive Russian money going to the Clinton Crime Family fake Foundation, along with millions of dollars in “speaker’s fees” to former President Bill Clinton.
  • The payoff for the Russians was, of course, the awarding of a federal permit to buy Uranium One, a company that controls about 20% of U.S. uranium assets, by a Russian firm in which Vladimir Putin owns an interest.  The approval of that permit was made by what the Obama Administration called the Committee On Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), on which both Attorney General Eric Holder and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were members.  Imagine that.
  • We’ve all known the basics of this scam for years, but assumed that James Comey’s FBI and Holder’s Justice Department simply looked the other way and allowed then-Sec. Clinton to coordinate all this money laundering with impunity.  But it turns out that the FBI actually did investigate this matter during 2009-10, and found criminal wrongdoing before Holder and likely then-President Obama put a halt to it.
  • All of that and more is contained in a story broken on Tuesday by reporters John Solomon and Alison Spann for The Hill.  Grassley apparently became aware of this situation last week, and sent letters to all relevant federal agencies who had members on CFIUS, demanding they produce documentation that would indicate whether their representative on the committee had knowledge of this FBI investigation when they voted to approve the sale of Uranium One to Russia.
  • Grassley, who is famously plain-spoke when he is angry, had this to say about the matter on Tuesday:  “It has recently come to the Committee’s attention that employees of Rosatom were involved in a criminal enterprise involving a conspiracy to commit extortion and money laundering during the time of the CFIUS transaction.  The fact that Rosatom subsidiaries in the United States were under criminal investigation as a result of a U.S. intelligence operation apparently around the time CFIUS approved the Uranium One/Rosatom transaction raises questions about whether that information factored into CFIUS’ decision to approve the transaction.”
  • It is into this breach that our thus-far useless Attorney General steps today.  Mr. Sessions has to this point very conveniently recused himself from anything having to do with Russia – because he had a meeting with the Russian Ambassador during the presidential campaign – as a means of facilitating his reluctance to deal with all of the rampant lawlessness that took place during the Obama Administration.  It is this baseless recusal that led to the appointment of Special Counsel Bob Mueller, and to the continued stonewalling of several congressional investigations and court cases by the FBI.  While many conservatives who support President Trump – myself included – were excited about the Sessions appointment when it was made, he has turned out to be one of the most disappointing hires made by this President.
  • While the fake news media – other than The Hill – are doing their best to ignore this story, given that it involves wrongdoing by so many of their Democrat heroes, today is actually a very pivotal moment for the Trump Administration.  If Mr. Sessions continues his posing as having a reason to recuse himself from Russia matters, even as they have absolutely nothing to do with the Trump presidential campaign, then that should be cause for the President to fire him and replace him with someone who really is interested in doing this job.
  • What this story shows us clearly is that the entire “Russia Collusion” fantasy play foisted on the public by the Democrats, the fake news media and willing Republican sympathizers in congress since last November is nothing but another classic case of Clintonian projection strategy.  The Clintons – and the Obama Administration – were involved in collusion with the Russian government throughout Hillary Clinton’s time as Secretary of State, and, when Trump won the election, knew that all of this would likely come to light.
  • The Clintonian strategy in situations like this has always been to get ahead of such revelations by accusing their opponents of the very same kind of wrongdoing first, in order to divert public attention away from their own actions.  The real collusion here has been between the Clintons, the Obamas, the fake news media and swamp-dwelling Republicans who have facilitated their projection strategy, even to the point of creating a special counsel to investigate the fantasy.
  • Today is Jeff Sessions’ chance to prove his is up to the job he’s held since February.  I’m looking for a reason to think he will prove worthy of the task, but am having a really hard time finding one.  We’ll just have to wait and see.
