Thursday News Roundup: What Did Pelosi and McConnell Know and When Did They Know It?

Let’s start with a little DC Swamp humor found on Twitter yesterday:

Image may contain: 2 people, closeup, text that says 'D 1 5 MANURE WOMANURE'

It’s just perfect, really.

Coverage of the DC Swamp UniParty’s second sham impeachment of President Donald Trump can be found here and here.

The Little Menace to Society pushes the goal posts even further down the field. – If you’re planning any actual vacation trips or attending events at the local theater anytime in 2021, you might want to cool your heels on that action.

The little menace to American society Anthony Fauci is already pushing the next virus:

Well, of course. The “new strain” of the virus supposedly imported from England hasn’t taken hold of the public’s imagination, so now Fauci switches to the tactic of claiming America has somehow developed a completely unique strain of its own.

Just accept it: The Swamp wants to keep you cowering in your homes and wearing masks forever. This madness will not end until it is ended by force. And one of the myriad disastrous consequences of the fraudulent election we’ve just experienced is that the people who want to keep you in that sorry state will soon be in control of the armed forces of the United States.

It’s cleanup time at Twitter, everyone! – A week after his company coordinated in monopolistic fashion with other Big Tech giants to de-platform President Donald Trump and destroy Parler, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey was out on the hustings trying to do some half-assed cleanup because Twitter’s stock is tanking.

From a story at DailyWire:

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey acknowledged in a statement on Wednesday evening that his company’s decision to ban President Donald Trump from the platform set a “dangerous” precedent and said that it was ultimately a “failure” by the company to “promote healthy conversation.”

Dorsey’s remarks come after the company has taken a hit in its value since banning the president last week, following a riot that broke out at the U.S. Capitol.

“I do not celebrate or feel pride in our having to ban @realDonaldTrump from Twitter, or how we got here. After a clear warning we’d take this action, we made a decision with the best information we had based on threats to physical safety both on and off Twitter,” Dorsey wrote. “Was this correct? I believe this was the right decision for Twitter. We faced an extraordinary and untenable circumstance, forcing us to focus all of our actions on public safety. Offline harm as a result of online speech is demonstrably real, and what drives our policy and enforcement above all.”

“That said, having to ban an account has real and significant ramifications. While there are clear and obvious exceptions, I feel a ban is a failure of ours ultimately to promote healthy conversation. And a time for us to reflect on our operations and the environment around us,” he continued. “Having to take these actions fragment the public conversation. They divide us. They limit the potential for clarification, redemption, and learning. And sets a precedent I feel is dangerous: the power an individual or corporation has over a part of the global public conversation.”

Dorsey claimed that the company did not coordinate with other tech companies with its decision to ban the president and that other companies either made their own choices or “were emboldened by the actions of others.”

[End]

All of that is, of course, an outright lie, especially the part about not coordinating with the other Big Tech firms. This is just the CEO of a major corporation reading the talking points handed to him by his enormous staff of talking points monkeys in an effort to prevent the company from continuing to bleed billions of dollars in market value every day.

Sadly, he’ll probably succeed in that effort.

I’d rather have a prostate exam than watch this:

Futile Gesture of the Week Award goes to…

Talk about a waste of time and energy – that effort has about as much chance of succeeding as this year’s Houston Rockets.

Today’s Short-Term Memory Reminder – Just a reminder that, on January 5, the day before the riot took place at the U.S. Capitol when the small contingent of Capitol Police guarding the building were overwhelmed by a crowd of thousands, Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser did this:

Oh.

So, as you continue to hear and see the corrupt news media claim that President Trump delayed calling out the National Guard to help secure the Capitol, know that the communist Democrat Mayor of the City had specifically and publicly discouraged making any such move just 24 hours earlier.

Everyone in the nation’s capitol knew that upwards of a million people were going to descend on the city on January 6 as congress debated whether or not to accept the clearly fraudulent electoral vote, and that professional agitators would certainly be in their midst. The FBI and Department of Justice admitted on Monday that they had been monitoring social media platforms and were aware in advance of plans by some agitators on both the left and the right to mount an effort to storm the Capitol. As is the habit of the raging dumpster fire of corruption and incompetence that is the FBI, it chose to do nothing more than send out the most rudimentary, standard warnings to the Capitol Police and other law enforcement officials.

There was no reason whatsoever for the Capitol building to have been left so lightly-guarded, other than the Mayor of DC’s refusal to beef up the Capitol Police in advance. We do not know right now if Mayor Bowser had been made aware of the FBI’s warning before January 6 or not, nor do we know what Majority Leader McConnell and Speaker Pelosi knew in advance of the riot.

Given that Pelosi has now staged a second impeachment scam based on the riot, and McConnell has expressed his own support of that effort, it is crucial that we find out whether they were warned in advance of the threat and chose to do nothing to prevent it, since that in and of itself might amount to at best an act of criminal negligence.

But you can be sure that it will be a cold day in hell before anyone at the FBI or DOJ will deliver that information to the public. After all, the interests of the DC Swamp UniParty are paramount. You little people can go pound sand.

That is all.

Donald Trump Holds The Future of the Republican Party in his Hands

With the Trump presidency now in its final days and the Democan/Republicrat UniParty back in control of congress, talk will now inevitably turn to whether the Trump Army of 75 million voters will move to create a third party, effectively destroying the Republican Party in the process. Of course, we get this same sort of discussion anytime either party suffers a major defeat, and such efforts in the past have always failed.

But this time, things could be different for one simple fact that Tucker Carlson pointed to during his monologue on Thursday night’s show: The current leaders of the Republican Party just don’t like the vast majority of the party’s voter base, and Donald Trump does.

Here’s an excerpt from a story at The Daily Caller:

Fox News host Tucker Carlson said Thursday that the Republican Party leadership doesn’t “like their own voters.”

“And they especially don’t want the voters that Trump brought,” Carlson continued. “Trump brought the party’s ranks noticeably downscale, ‘from the country club to the trailer park,’ as they often sneer. And this horrifies them. Many Republicans in Washington now despise the people they’re supposed to represent and protect.”

Carlson claimed that “socially anxious white professionals” feel contempt for “working-class people who look like them.”

“So if you want to understand the hatred, the real hatred, not just disagreement but gut level loathing and fear of Trump — in say New York or Washington or L.A. — you’ve got to understand that first. It’s not really Trump; it’s his voters. The new money class despises them,” Carlson said.

[End]

I disagree somewhat with Carlson’s last statement there: The visceral hatred of the Trump movement in the major media centers of the country are about both Trump and his voters. The hatred and fear of that movement is only amplified by the reality that it’s really more than 75 million, given that it’s been pretty unarguably demonstrated that the true Trump vote was artificially depressed in every state where Dominion Systems technology is in use.

And let’s be honest, the hatred between the establishment Republicans and the vast majority of the GOP voter base is entirely mutual. Here is what happened at Reagan National Airport on Friday when Sen. Lindsey Graham, who used his chairmanship of the Senate Judiciary Committee to avoid any real investigations into Obamagate and Spygate for the past two years, ran into a group of Trump supporters on Friday afternoon:

That’s an ugly scene, for sure. And remember, it’s a scene involving a politician whose Party’s ability to remain a national force depends on retaining the loyalty of those voters.

Seems like a pretty big lift, doesn’t it?

Meanwhile, the Republican National Committee re-elected Ronna Romney McDaniel, the niece of the head RINO himself, Mitt Romney, to be its leader for the coming four years:

To her credit, Ms. McDaniel worked hard to help President Trump achieve his re-election, often finding herself at odds with her Uncle Mitt in the process. At the same time, though, she has been the public face of a Party that has too often operated at odds with its own voter base.

Witness yesterday’s massive putsch against conservative users coordinated by leftist Big Tech monopolies like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google and Apple: The GOP had four years with a Republican president do to something, anything to exact some control over these corporate oligarchies, and did exactly nothing. As the purge was taking place Friday evening, not a single leader in the Republican Party had anything of any real note to say in opposition to it.

Now, after the predictably inept effort and bad outcome in the Georgia Senate runoff elections, the GOP has failed itself right back into the position it held in January of 2019: Not in control of a single lever of power in Washington, DC. As was clearly demonstrated over the past two months, that lack of control includes the U.S. Supreme Court despite Trump’s three appointments to that body.

I have never been in favor of blowing the whole thing up and starting over where the Republican Party is concerned. At similar junctures in the past, such as January 2009, it has always seemed to be that it would be more productive to work to reform the GOP from within. Given this current situation, and the near-universal disaffection of Trump voters from the GOP representatives they have sadly helped to elect, it is difficult to maintain that outlook any longer.

At best, the Republican Party has proven itself to be largely corrupt and hopelessly inept over the past four years. At worst, its elected representatives have demonstrated that, by and large, they have nothing but contempt for the people who elected them, as most recently demonstrated by their refusal to do anything to rein in the abuses of the Big Tech monopolies.

Donald Trump had 88 million followers to his now-banned Twitter account. Should he choose to do so, he has the ability to now lead much of this loyal base of support completely away from the Republican Party and establish a political party of his own. Given that Trump has no more use for the GOP’s elected officials than his supporters do, it seems unarguably true that the Republican Party’s continued existence as a national force in American politics stands on thinner ice than it ever has in the past.

It couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch of people.

That is all.

Big Tech’s Anti-Conservatve Putsch Mirrors its ChiCom Masters

Well, the Big Tech purge hit in earnest on Friday evening, as President Donald Trump’s account was banned from Twitter and Facebook, and those two Orwellian firms joined with Apple, Google and Instagram to purge thousands of conservative-leaning accounts under the guise of a joint effort to prevent the spread of disinformation. This is perhaps the single most blatant example of mass anti-trust behavior in the nation’s history and the government is powerless to do anything about it because Mitch McConnell refused to force the repeal of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act into the Defense Authorization Act last month.

But elimination of accounts on these leftist platforms was far from the extent of yesterday’s Big Tech putsch: Both Apple and Google notified the owners of Parler that it would also be cancelled from their platforms unless it adopts the same sort of highly-discriminatory thought and speech controls used by Twitter and Facebook. Users of I-Phones and Google Pixel phones found themselves unable to download and use the Parler app, and that’s just the beginning.

Hilariously, Apple executives gave the following explanation of the company’s assault on Parler:

“We have received numerous complaints regarding objectionable content in your Parler service, accusations that the Parler app was used to plan, coordinate, and facilitate the illegal activities” at the US Capitol on 6 January, Apple wrote in an email to Parler executives. “The app also appears to continue to be used to plan and facilitate yet further illegal and dangerous activities.”

ummmm…what about Facebook, then? Facebook has been used to facilitate all manner of violent crimes, including the planning and execution of mass riots, an array of terrorist attacks that have killed hundreds of U.S. citizens, and a sad litany of too many rapes and murders to chronicle. If you can’t remember Apple issuing any similar advisory to Jeff Zuckerberg, well, that’s because it’s never happened.

All of this took place simultaneously with the delivery of a speech read by China Joe Potato Head Biden, in which he classified President Trump and all of his supporters as Nazis who deploy the Joseph Goebbels technique of the “Big Lie,” which of course just happens to be the Democrat Party’s main stock in trade.

Image

Goebbels, of course, used the technology of his day to advantage his Nazi Party exactly in the same manner as the Big Tech oligarchs of today are deploying theirs in concert with the strategic objectives of the Democrat Party. The Nazis ended up murdering 6 million Jews largely unnoticed by the rest of the world in part as a result of Goebbels’ careful planning and propaganda efforts.

This is, of course, the kind of brutish crackdown on free thought and speech that we would expect to see from the communist government in China. That should come as no surprise given that every one of the corporations engaging in the putsch is a ChiCom client company. It has been glaringly obvious for years now that the ambitions of these exact companies to capture the enormous Chinese market was causing them to conform their corporate policy actions to the demands of their ChiCom masters. And now, here we are with the entirely predictable ultimate outcome.

The GOP had four years to do something, anything, to crack down on the abuses of these tech monopolies, which became increasingly restrictive and overt throughout the four year term of President Trump. But, of course, the Republicans did nothing because most GOP members of congress don’t really see any problem with this kind of corporate behavior, and because those GOP congressmen and senators hate their voters every bit as much as the Democrats do.

President Trump created an account at Parler last night, and no doubt millions of his 88 million Twitter followers will do the same in the coming days. My own inbox is filled with request by friends to follow them over to Parler, along with other platforms like Gab, MeWe, CloutHub and others I’ve never even heard of. Thus do the Democrats and their Big Tech allies accomplish one of their main goals: To splinter the opposition into an array of competing factions.

Back in August of 2018, as it was becoming increasingly evident that the Democrats might be able to win a majority in the House of Representatives, I wrote about my hopes that President Trump would use his second two years in office to do an imitation of Teddy Roosevelt and clamp down on the growing threat to our nation that these Big Tech oligarchs represent. Unfortunately, the President, beset by all the controversies the Democrats and media kept swirling around him and having saddled himself with an Attorney General who was nothing more than a Deep State tool, failed as miserably as congress to take any real action in this arena.

Anyone who thinks a Biden Administration, with a very liberal Merrick Garland ensconced in the Attorney General’s office, will make the slightest move to rein in the brutish, un-American actions of these Big Tech monopolies probably also believes that China Joe was elected in a free and fair election.

Keep your heads on a swivel, folks: The assault on your freedoms is just beginning.  This will only get worse.

That is all.

Time to Cross WalMart off of Your Shopping List [UPDATED]

In what is almost an unbelievable turn of events, even for this horrible year of 2020, the official Twitter account for WalMart just outright attacked GOP Senator Josh Hawley today.

After Senator Hawley became the first GOP senator to make it known that he will object to the January 6 certification of the Electoral vote, WalMart weighed in with a response that reads “Go ahead. Get your 2-hour debate. #soreloser”.

Image

That a major corporation would weigh in on a political issue with a partisan political response is no surprise. We see that happening all the time.

The surprise here is that the partisan political response comes not from some Big Tech firm, but from WalMart, a retail chain of mega-stores that appeal largely to America’s lower middle class shoppers, a very large chunk of which makes up a very large chunk of the support base of Donald J. Trump.

WalMart’s decision to take this hyper-partisan stance on this crucial issue now gives Trump supporters a prime opportunity to extract some accountability from this major retailer by engaging in a simple boycott. While boycotts on media outlets like CNN and MSNBC are completely ineffective, given that such media outlets don’t want to attract conservative viewers and only serve as loss-leaders for their giant corporate umbrellas, a boycott of a profit-motivated retailer such as WalMart by 75 million Americans would likely be extremely effective.

Making Wal-Mart an even more prime target for such a boycott is the fact that it is a company that sources roughly 70-80% of its products not from U.S. suppliers, but from China:

Image

So, all you Trump supporters, listen up: If you currently include WalMart or Sam’s Clubs among your regular shopping routine, the time has come to cross it off your list. You have never been handed a more prime opportunity to extract a little accountability from any major corporation.

Just do it.

UPDATE: About 2 minutes after I posted this piece, Senator Hawley just posted the following reply to Walmart:

B-O-O-M.

Thursday News Roundup: Trump’s Only Recourse to Police Democrat Voter Fraud is the Courts

Here’s where things stand this morning on the only story that really matters:

– Wisconsin is gone, with Joe Biden holding a lead of about 20,000 votes.

– Michigan is gone, with Joe Biden holding a lead of about 150,000 votes.

– President Trump leads by a quarter of a million votes in Pennsylvania, but can there be any doubt that the vote “counters” in Philadelphia will manufacture that many votes and more before this day is through?

– Georgia is trending badly, with President Trump clinging to a lead of 19,000 votes with maybe another 100,000 still to be “counted”, mostly in Fulton County, home to heavily-Democrat Atlanta.

– North Carolina is still not fully done, with the President holding a 77,000 vote lead that appears to be solid to hold up at the end of the day.

– Arizona is still up for grabs, with Biden clinging to a tenuous lead of about 69,000 votes with half a million still to be counted.

– Nevada is still up for grabs as well, with Biden leading by about 8,000 but a quarter million or more votes remaining uncounted.

What do all of these states but Arizona and Georgia have in common? Democrat governors. So, if the Trump campaign is looking for any effective, diligent policing of obvious, blatant voter fraud efforts that took place and are still taking place from state officials, they are looking in vain.

Well, then, what about getting assistance from the FBI and the Federal Elections Commission? Yeah, if your name is Trump it’s pretty obvious you won’t be getting any help from the FBI, right? And the FEC is an anachronistic institution that hasn’t done anything real to police and prevent voter fraud in a generation or more.

Thus, Trump’s only resort is to the federal courts, and to do what the campaign did yesterday: Call out an army of lawyers led by Rudy Giuliani, a former U.S. attorney who knows how to root out organized crime like we have witnessed in Michigan and Pennsylvania and Georgia and Wisconsin related to the conduct of elections in this cycle.

Giuliani, accompanied by Eric Trump, held a press conference yesterday to kick off  his efforts in Pennsylvania.

From a report at the New York Post:

At a hastily called together press conference in Philadelphia, the president’s son Eric Trump and personal attorney Rudy Giuliani announced Trump 2020 was taking legal action to stop what they called “rampant corruption.”

“We’re gonna win Pennsylvania, but they’re trying to cheat us out of it because they know it’s their only path to victory, they know it’s the only path to victory,” Eric Trump said.

The campaign filed a lawsuit in the swing commonwealth of Pennsylvania earlier Wednesday calling for a halt to vote counting until their Republican poll observers were given better access at polling centers.

In a tweet fired-off during the event, Trump said he was declaring himself the winner of Pennsylvania, Georgia and [North] Carolina and claimed he would have also seized Michigan if not for “a large number of secretly dumped ballots.”

“We have claimed, for Electoral Vote purposes, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (which won’t allow legal observers) the state of Georgia and the State of North Carolina, each of which has a BIG Trump lead,” he tweeted.

“This is among one of the most anti-democratic things I’ve ever seen or encountered and it’s not just here in Philadelphia, it is going on all over the country,” Giuliani claimed.

[End]

Giuliani’s last statement there is of course true. In Michigan, for example, a tranche of 138,000 votes were dumped early yesterday morning by vote “counters,”  and each and every one of them was supposedly for Joe Biden. Officials came in later in the day and oh, gee, well that was just a “typo” – someone had added an extra zero. Sure, but that still amounts to almost 14,000 votes, all for a single candidate, a statistical impossibility.

In another instance in Michigan, the county vote totals in one county showed Biden winning that county by 3,000 votes. It turned out the total had been “transposed” and that Trump had actually rolled up a 3,000 vote win there. Officials wrote it off to a simple clerical errors, but it is passing strange how all of the “errors,” each and every one of them, only go in one direction.

Can anyone doubt that the Democrats in Wisconsin falsified at least 20,000 votes in that state? Please, that’s a walk in the park for these people. A recanvassing of the dead voters in state would no doubt turn up at least that many votes in Madison and Milwaukee alone. There are lots and lots of cemeteries in those towns.

In Pennsylvania, as Eric Trump and Giuliani noted, GOP election observers have been shut out of vote counting operations, and big dumps of all-Biden ballots took place throughout the day on Wednesday. Here is how Nate Silver’s Democrat-shilling operation noted one of them:

“23,277 votes in Philadelphia, all for Biden,” noted without critical comment. Again, a statistical impossibility. The odds of that being legitimate would be in the billions or trillions to 1, and a guy who styles himself to be a statistical geek just puts it out there without comment.

Surreal.

Twitter, of course, was feverishly censoring all mention of the massive vote-stealing operations, as noted by Newt Gingrich:

If you click on that tweet to try to get to the report at the Federalist, Twitter won’t allow you to go there, and takes you to one of its false disclaimers that were likely written by the Biden/Harris campaign instead.

Of course, we were warned about all of this repeatedly over the last 6 months. I noted time after time that the Democrats were not even really hiding their intention to steal this election through  massive vote fraud using the easily-subverted mail-in ballots as their main vehicle. Biden himself noted at one point in a call with fundraisers that his campaign had built the “largest voter fraud operation in history.” Apologists in the media wrote it off as a gaffe, but what it really was was a slip of the tongue, a rare moment of honesty from a pathological liar.

And the entire operation has been facilitated by the Democrat governors. The same governors who have used the China Virus as an excuse to keep their economies shut down for political gain are the governors who mass-mailed ballots to every person in their states, and they’re the same governors who jointly paused the vote counting in the wee hours of the morning on Wednesday as the President was on the verge of securing his victory with wins in Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia and Pennsylvania. Once they had assessed exactly how many votes they would have to manufacture, those same governors – all Democrats – restarted the vote “counting” with a singular goal in mind.

This is why GOP election observers have been denied access to counting operations in places like Philadelphia, Detroit, Milwaukee and Atlanta, and it is why those Democrat governors refuse to forthrightly explain the processes in their states in clear and concise terms to the public.

The only recourse is the courts, and ultimately that means the U.S. Supreme Court. That is why the media/Democrat Axis of Propaganda has mounted such a furious campaign to claim that new Justice Amy Coney Barrett should recuse herself from any election-related decisions. They know that Chief Justice John Roberts is compromised, and that a 4-4 vote at the Supreme Court would in fact be a denial of the Trump campaign’s complaints.

At the end of the day, the stalwart effort by Mitch McConnell and Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham to ensure Justice Barrett’s confirmation could end up saving the Republic from its first-ever dementia-riddled Presidency.

This will all take weeks, not days, so hunker down and stay safe.

That is all.

Friday News Roundup: Steve Scully, Joe Biden, Facebook and Twitter – So Many Liars, So Little Time

You don’t sayyyyyyyyyy. – Former Biden intern Steve Scully, who was selected by the anti-Trump Commission on Presidential Debates was suspended “indefinitely” by his employer C-Span yesterday after he was forced to admit that his claim that his Twitter account had been “hacked” was exactly what we all knew it was: A very transparent lie.

From a report by the Associated Press:

C-SPAN suspended its political editor Steve Scully indefinitely Thursday after he admitted to lying about his Twitter feed being hacked when he was confronted about a questionable exchange with former Trump aide Anthony Scaramucci.

The news came on the day of what was supposed to be a career highlight for the 30-year C-SPAN veteran. Scully was to moderate the second debate between President Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden, which was canceled after Trump would not agree to a virtual format because of his COVID-19 diagnosis.

A week ago, after Trump had criticized him as a “never Trumper,” Scully tweeted “@Scaramucci should I respond to Trump.” Scaramucci, a former Trump communications director and now a critic of the president, advised Scully to ignore him.

Scully said that when he saw his tweet had created a controversy, “I falsely claimed that my Twitter account had been hacked.”

[End]

Well, knock me over with a feather.

Oh, this’ll make it all better, y’all! – Twitter’s “lead” for policy and lots of other stuff, some SJW named Vijaya Gadde, put up a big long thread last night – after Twitter’s entire platform had gone down for a couple of hours – claiming that she and her company were changing their “hacked materials policy”:

There are 8 more tweets in that thread, but I’m not going to re-post them here.

Here is all you need to know about this: Nobody has alleged that the materials that form the basis for the bombshell New York Post reports on Joe and Hunter Biden’s influence scam related to Ukraine and China were “hacked.” The Biden Campaign does not even make that absurd, ridiculous, despicably false claim. The emails were obviously not “hacked,” and everyone knows it.

Twitter and Facebook are not enforcing any sort of real “policies” here. They are quite simply engaging in Big Brother censorship on behalf of the Biden/Harris Harris/Biden campaign. Period. And for that action, both platforms should immediately lose their protections under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, and the FCC and Justice Department should start taking actions under the nation’s communications and anti-trust laws to break them up. Period.

Interestingly, Twitter’s global “outage” took place right after it was announced that it would be getting a subpoena from the Senate Judiciary Committee demanding that its CEO, Jack Dorsey, show up and testify under oath next Friday about his company’s lurch into undisguised censorship and interference in a presidential election. That subpoena was demanded by GOP Senators Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley. Why it does not also include Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s name is a real mystery.

Interestingly, pretty much all other GOP senators have remained studiously silent on the matter, conclusively proving how worthless they are in a real crisis for our Republic. Some things never change.

Writing at the Washington Examiner, Byron York reminds us that, while the social media censorship angle is crucial, it is also key to remember the essence of the corruption that the Biden family was engaged in:

Now, the Post has published an email, reported to be from a Burisma executive to Hunter Biden. The Post says it was sent on April 17, 2015, when Joe Biden was vice president and Hunter Biden was on Burisma’s board. “Dear Hunter,” the executive, Vadym Pozharskyi, wrote, “thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together. It’s realty [sic] an honor and pleasure.”

Democrats and Biden’s partisans in the press pushed back ferociously. It’s Russian disinformation, they claimed, without any specific knowledge that it was Russian disinformation. Facebook limited the distribution of the Post story. Twitter banned it altogether. All of this was done before anyone made any serious attempt to confirm the allegation.

The Biden campaign denied it all. “The New York Post never asked the Biden campaign about the critical elements of this story,” spokesman Andrew Bates said. “They certainly never raised that Rudy Giuliani — whose discredited conspiracy theories and alliance with figures connected to Russian intelligence have been widely reported — claimed to have such materials. Moreover, we have reviewed Joe Biden’s official schedules from the time and no meeting, as alleged by the New York Post, ever took place.”

The last sentence is what matters. With it, the Biden campaign seemed to be flatly denying that Hunter Biden introduced Pozharskyi to Vice President Biden. Of course, one could parse the meaning. For example, the statement referred only to Biden’s “official schedules.” There could not have been some sort of unofficial introduction, could there? And the statement said that no meeting “as alleged by the New York Post” ever took place. There could not have been some sort of introduction that did not fit the allegation in the Post, could there? Certainly the Biden campaign would not make a lawyerly, evasive statement like that, would it?

[End]

Well, of course the Biden campaign would “make a lawyerly, evasive statement.” It’s all they got, because the Post stories are 100% true, and they are just the tip of a very large and disgusting iceberg.

Meanwhile, here is what New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has law enforcement officials in New York doing to the state’s Jewish community:

Just a reminder that our country is in so many ways right about where Germany was in early 1938, and if we return the Democrat Party to national power, we’ll be right at “invasion of Poland” time in a blink.

That is all.

Government’s Intolerable Failure to Regulate Social Media Monopolies

Guest Piece by Gregg Updike

One of government’s most fundamental responsibilities is to protect its citizen’s life liberty and property.  It is clear to any intellectually honest person that they have failed in this on many levels; this is intolerable.  I am not talking about the riots and bogus shutdowns that are killing small business and people’s livelihood, although that is another failure. I am talking about censorship, identify theft and the permitted invasion of privacy.

Twenty-three or so years ago I dated a computer network engineer and she explained the concept of the open and free public internet.  She told me how it was going to be an open forum unregulated and untaxed.  I found the whole concept to be unbelievable; ultimately everything needs to be controlled in some manner or there will be complete anarchy.

What we have now is all the anarchy of the open forum of the public internet and the dictatorial unfettered control of a handful of tech giant leaders who determine whose message is heard and what information is disseminated.  It is the worst of both worlds.  This thought control is every bit, if not more so, as pervasive as much as the six or so traditional ‘news’ and entertainment networks.

Worse, the people who run these big tech social media platforms and their algorithms censor political thought are nameless and faceless.  They operate anonymously with near impunity.  Unlike the traditional media where we can at least see who the propagandists are and turn off the channel or drop our newspaper or magazine subscriptions; we have no such option if we want to engage in the social media arena with conservative views.  Rather than have true open forums for thought, we are slaves to what they want us to see, hear, think, and how we ultimately vote.

By an amazing coincidence virtually all the rulers of these social media tech giants support the Left and the Democratic Party.  And they are providing free “in-kind” donations worth millions, if not billions to that party and its candidates.  This is clearly intolerable.  Where is the FEC; that worthless “watchdog” commission that is supposed to ensure “free and fair” elections?

Who runs the feckless FEC?  I suspect it is the same never-Republicans and Democratic loyalists who control the Debate Commission.  I now call them never-Republicans as they are not just “never-Trumpers” sandbagging President Trump; they have done it to most Republican politicians over the years.

No one is more anti-government regulation than me, but I realize a free and prosperous society must have laws, rules and regulations in order to remain free, prosperous, AND protected from charlatans who take advantage of their positions of wealth and power.  This is why we have the FDA, the EPA, OSHA, consumer protection organizations and the FEDERAL ELECTION COMMISION.  It is why the FBI, DOJ and the alphabet intelligence agencies exist: to protect the law-abiding American citizens from fraud and damage.  They are failing in that most basic mission and need to be greatly reformed or disbanded.

One of the most galling aspects of the whole internet “thing”, as Biden would say, is how the government has utterly failed in protect its citizens from all the problems associated with the internet.

How is it we have a whole new private industry created to protect people from internet identity theft and protect individuals from computer viruses and other internet driven maladies?  Frequent commenters on this site have recently been reporting all kinds of interference on our free speech rights from malware and other attacks and apparently nothing can be done to prevent any determined individual or group from engaging in such malicious activity.

Who says crime doesn’t pay?  It is certainly paying all the security companies vying for our dollars to protect us from electronic data crime.  It seems we get monthly news stories about how some big retail chain, tourism company, or investment firm and even the federal, or a state or local government gets hacked and millions of people’s personal data could be exposed, stolen or compromised.

Where is the government, our supposed protector, in this?  Where are the ‘news’ stories of arrests and convictions of hackers and identify thieves?  Isn’t it amazing how some local arrest resisting minority criminal suspect who nobody ever heard of gets killed in a confrontation with the police and half the county erupts in chaos and violence for months on end; yet nary a peep is ever reported about hackers who cost society billions of dollars every year and ruin lives of thousands?  The cost we must pay for our ‘data security’ must be added to the overall cost of criminal activity our government is supposed to but fails to protect us from.

Why is there no outcry from the competing information (news) industry about how big-tech social media platforms censors political free speech?   The answer to that question is simple: their message is the same; they are just birds of a feather flocking us together.

Under the previous administration(s) many government agencies were corrupted to suppress freedom of speech of conservative groups and no one – not the media, not the FBI or the DOJ, no inspector general at the IRS or any other people controlling agencies – of weight said a peep or showed any concern about these egregious violations of public trust, safety and security.  If there were any “whistleblowers” they were squelched, and no one gave a whit about it.

Where are the “99 plus percent“ of the “good people” in these agencies sounding the alarm?  Yet we get some unnamed hack raising hell and who officially remained anonymous given congressional notoriety in an effort to bring down President Trump on a bogus accusation; which had the effect of pausing the agenda of the Trump Administration and probably hurt the initial COVID-19 response.  Apparently only “whistleblowers” of a certain political persuasion are protected, while opposing “whistleblowers’ – if they exist – are intimidated into silence and/or ignored by the various departmental HR and IGs and especially the MSM (D).

It must be a priority of a second Trump Administration to protect the American people from the ravages of the “internet”.  Many, if not most of the agencies charged with protecting American Citizen’s rights, freedoms and property must be either reformed or abolished.  Part of that reform would be moving them out of the DC Beltway Cesspool and busting up big tech through anti-trust laws and regulations.

President Trump might and should make those reforms happen; a Biden administration certainly will not.  Biden is a 47-year statis quo/quid pro quo swamp-rat; why would he do anything to punish the people who carry his water?

Tuesday News Roundup: Kasich Goes Full Democrat, Trump Telegraphs Pardon and Portland Riots Steam Ahead

Pardon me? Beg pardon? – Talking to reporters at the end of a whirlwind day of three campaign events, President Donald Trump telegraphed that he would be issuing a pardon today. Being the showman that he is, he further telegraphed that it will be a “very, very important” person.

From a story at Fox News:

Speaking to reporters on Air Force One while on his way back to Washington from a tour of battleground states in the Midwest, Trump dropped the news about the upcoming pardon – saying only that it would not be former NSA staffer Edward Snowden or Trump’s former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Trump over the weekend hinted that he was considering pardoning Snowden, the former National Security Agency contractor who has been living in Russia since he leaked information on vast domestic and international surveillance operations carried out by the NSA.

[End]

Ok, so, it’s not Snowden and it isn’t General Flynn. Who does that leave out there as likely suspects? Good question. One thing to keep in mind here is that the subject of a presidential pardon does not have to be among the living – this could be about correcting some historic wrong that Trump’s predecessors chose not to correct. Also note that no one asked the President about the possibility that it could be WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

But that’s all just speculation. As the President likes to say, “we’ll see what happens.” It will be a very interesting day, no doubt filled with the sounds of exploding liberal heads.

On Twitter, conservative satire is bad, the ChiCom Party is gooooood. – The humorless ghouls who run Twitter have recently been on a campaign to purge their outrage site of conservative satire accounts. Yesterday, for no apparent good reason, they suspended the tremendous Babylon Bee satire news account, which every day produces some of the funniest content on earth.

Simply put, the Babylon Bee is what Saturday Night Live aspired to be in its early days, and what South Park still achieves from time to time: A brilliant satire operation that skewers everyone. Upon learning of the Babylon Bee’s suspension, Dana Loesch captured the moment perfectly:

Indeed, pretty much all radical leftists are too petty and stupid to appreciate satire, which helps to explain how they became radical leftists in the first place. After all, intelligent people of good will know better.

Twitter lamely explained that the Babylon Bee account had been suspended due to a violation of its fake rules against “manipulation of information,” which of course is the very essence of good satire. But again, these people are too stupid and petty to understand that. And let’s all realize that this “rule” – like all other Twitter “rules” – is completely fake, applied only as a means of censoring conservative thought and speech. Twitter makes no similar efforts to censor the rank propaganda spewed by the ChiCom Party on its platform via thousands of accounts each and every day.

But this story has a semi-happy ending: Perhaps due to the outrage expressed by thousands of conservative Twitter users – or perhaps because maybe, just maybe, there is one actual semi-cogent adult working in Twitter management – the Babylon Bee account was restored after just a brief period of time.

The most tiresome man in politics is now officially a Democrat. – The Democrats can have John Kasich, the tiresome self-promoting drone who spoke at their fake convention last night. In doing so, Kasich abandoned every conservative principle he had spent the previous 40 years spouting at the altar of revenge on the bad orange man who humiliated him during the 2016 campaign.

In taking this action, Kasich personifies the entire #NeverTrump collection of hacks, war-mongers, grifters and semi-lucid pundits. These are people who have made their livings by pretending to fight for conservative values while surrendering consistently on each and every major issue our nation has faced.

These are people who detested Ronald Reagan when he came into office and spent 8 years attempting – and mostly failing – to convince him to give in to the Democrats. They are people whose political heroes are the likes of John McCain and the surrender monkeys Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. They are people who like to quote the great William F. Buckley but always fail to heed his principle that it is often the role of real conservatives to “stand astride the march of history yelling stop!”

Surrender monkeys like John Kasich never summon the courage to yell stop. They’re always claiming to be “searching for the middle ground,” knowing full well that no one on the other side is engaged in a similar search, and that they will be the only party to make a move to get there. But they don’t really care about that as long as the money keeps flowing in and they can keep holding their seminar cruises and getting gigs as the pet fake conservative blooger for the New York Times or Washington Post and occasionally turning up as fake conservative talking heads on CNN or MSNBC or Fox News.

That’s the ground John Kasich has firmly sought and held onto throughout his entire sorry career, and it is the ground he continued to perch atop last night. Make no mistake about this: Kasich and his fellow #NeverTrump nitwits hate Donald Trump for the very same reason why real conservatives love him.

Because Trump fights.

Meanwhile in Portland, Oregon… – Real journalist Andy Ngo, the only reason why we know that is really happening in Portland on a nightly basis, stumbled across a rare commission of actual journalism by one of Portland’s local TV stations:

It’s almost a miracle. Here is the victim that that report is about:

Meanwhile, the riots continued for their 81st consecutive night with no sign that the Portland Police are making any real effort to stop them:

You can be sure this appeal from Mr. Ngo to communist Democrat Mayor Ted Wheeler will go unheeded:

And remember this: These rioters are paid and organized by the communist Democrat Party. By speaking at the Democrat convention last night, John Kasich formally endorsed this behavior.

Truly despicable.

That is all.

Thursday News Roundup: Trump Snags Endorsement, Bags Campaign Manager, Big Twitter Hack, NYC Chaos

So, now we know what it takes for police unions to do the right thing in a presidential election. – The National Association of Police Organizations, an umbrella organization that represents 1,000 local police unions with more than 241,000 members, formally endorsed President Donald Trump in his bid for re-election on Wednesday. This is a big win for the President and fellow Republicans, who stood by dumbfounded in 2008 and 2012 as this same association and most of its local organizations endorsed the aggressively anti-police Obama/Biden ticket.

Think about that for a minute: Why would any police organization have ever endorsed a Democrat presidential candidate? Or any Democrat for any office, for that matter? Why did this particular organization feel so conflicted when faced with the clear choice of the very pro-police Donald Trump and the extreme anti-police Pantsuit Princess in 2016 that it decided to sit that one out rather than do the right thing?

The fact that this endorsement of a Republican had to be basically forced out of the NAPO by the growing movement to defund police departments by Democrat mayors and city councils just reinforces the image of unions in general being corrupt organizations bought and paid for by leftwing political interests.

So, thanks, NAPO, for finally doing the right thing; but man, it has been way too long in coming.

Big hack in Twitterville. – Some enterprising soul or group of souls performed a hilarious hack on Twitter world yesterday. Early in the evening, the accounts of prominent figures like Bill Gates, Jeff Bezo, Barack Obama and Joe Biden and many, many more – including Twitter’s own support account –  suddenly tweeted out the same message:

Image

Here’s the punch line: The hackers only attacked verified, so-called “blue-check” accounts that have become literal badges of honor among all the corrupt, leftwing reporters and editors in our fake news media. In order to address the issue, Twitter was forced to actually deactivate every “blue-check” account for the better part of an hour.

Here was the scene at the New York Times building in Manhattan:

Mass Panic GIFs | Tenor

This is what it looked like at CNN:

Panic GIFs - Get the best GIF on GIPHY

Meanwhile, this is how every other Twitter user felt as the momentary calm and rationality settled in over the social media platform:

Heaven, I'm In Heaven... GIF - Heaven ImInHeaven InHeaven ...

Twitter’s stock is crashing this morning as a result of this hack, which was achieved through the use of Twitter’s own employee tools.

Imagine that.

So, just like he did twice in 2016, then? – President Trump switched out campaign managers last night, and now the drumbeat of “this is the beginning of the end for Donald Trump” will start up in the corrupt news media for the 1,123rd time.

Upon learning of the news, Fake Jake Tapper sagely pronounced on his freshly-restored blue-check Twitter account that this means that the President is seeing all the same terrible polling data everyone else is seeing. Actually, what it most likely means is that the President is making exactly the same move he made on June 20, 2016, when he replaced Cory Lewandowski, a virtual novice who had never managed a major campaign before, with Paul Manafort, a seasoned pro.

Like Lewandowski, Brad Parscale, a social media and data specialist, is a novice as a campaign manager who has largely been blamed for the screw-ups that happened with last month’s Tulsa rally. He is being replaced by Bill Stepien, who actually has experience running campaigns. As we move into the meat of this race, this particular move should come as no surprise to anyone.

And Stepien had better perform well and with great energy, given that Trump fired Manafort 50 days after he hired him because, as Trump hilariously said, he was “low energy.” Manafort was replaced by the combination of Steve Bannon and KellyAnne Conway, and the rest is history.

Parscale will remain with the campaign and continue doing what he does best.

132 shootings in 10 days, and Bill de Blasio’s response is painting Marxist slogans on 5th Avenue. – The violent crime rate in New York City is skyrocketing directly as a result of the actions taken by Marxist Mayor Bill de Blasio, whose real name is Warren Wilhelm.

As Patrick Brosnan points out in the New York Post, the city saw its bloodiest month of June in history thanks to de Blasio, and has witnessed 132 shootings in just the past ten days:

Our spineless leaders in City Hall and the City Council labored through all the familiar excuses and p.r. machinations: outrage at the lack of gun-control laws; scorn for an ineffective New York Police Department; talk of the depressive effects of coronavirus lockdowns. Titanically unaware, they refuse to accept that the guns and their owners never left New York — notwithstanding their impassioned claims that Gotham is still “the safest big city in America.”

Cold, and steely efficient, these guns had been hidden at the bottom of bureau drawers, behind radiators and in glove compartments, waiting patiently to be called into service. The first call to service followed bail “reform” in January. The effect of the misguided law was swift and terrifying.

Shootings surged 28 percent in the first 30 days. Empowered criminals learned quickly that carrying an illegal gun in the Big Apple was no longer a big deal. Those once-hidden handguns were now riding in waistbands, readily available, itching to hurl deadly projectiles at eyewatering speeds in a blaze of heat and smoke.

Some criminals began to behave as if they had a carry permit in their wallets. To be sure, not all of Gotham’s criminals were fully empowered — yet. Many still had the metaphorical scar tissue from an encounter with the plainclothes anti-crime units. So they remained cautious, ever wary of a plainclothes team silently descending on them.

The indefensible killing of George Floyd on May 25, however, set in motion a series of events that turned the criminals’ partial carry permits into full ones. In the June riots, 478 officers were injured, 198 police vehicles burned, police precincts were attacked and overrun.

In the wake of this carnage, and the destruction of almost 1,000 businesses, Mayor de Blasio, dim at best, swiftly instituted two policies. First, he eliminated the anti-crime units. Then he doubled down on July 1, erasing $1 billion from the NYPD’s crime-fighting budget overnight: a devastating one-two punch to the NYPD and law-abiding New Yorkers.

The criminal was now fully empowered, the thin blue line stretched to the breaking point.

Roger Stone’s Commutation: Completely Justified and Righteous

As expected, President Donald Trump commuted the sentence of Roger Stone Friday evening. – Naturally, liberals, leftists, socialist, Marxists and fascists – but I repeat myself – went nuts on Twitter. Here’s an example:

The person who wrote that drivel is actually a “legal analyst” for NBC News. Now you know why nothing NBC reports about legal matters is right. The morning of November 4 is going to be a really bad time for this guy, as he wakes up and realizes that he still has four more years of President Donald Trump to go.

Look, Roger Stone is not a choir boy. In fact, he’s a largely unsavory guy, a sleazy political operative, and in fact one the thousands of people who over the years helped to make the DC swamp such a horrible and corrupt place. But that doesn’t mean he should spend the rest of his life in prison. Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany did a fine job of explaining why in a written message sent out to the corrupt news media last night:

Today, President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Grant of Clemency commuting the unjust sentence of Roger Stone, Jr.
Roger Stone is a victim of the Russia Hoax that the Left and its allies in the media perpetuated for years in an attempt to undermine the Trump Presidency.  There was never any collusion between the Trump Campaign, or the Trump Administration, with Russia.  Such collusion was never anything other than a fantasy of partisans unable to accept the result of the 2016 election.  The collusion delusion spawned endless and farcical investigations, conducted at great taxpayer expense, looking for evidence that did not exist.  As it became clear that these witch hunts would never bear fruit, the Special Counsel’s Office resorted to process-based charges leveled at high-profile people in an attempt to manufacture the false impression of criminality lurking below the surface.  These charges were the product of recklessness borne of frustration and malice. This is why the out-of-control Mueller prosecutors, desperate for splashy headlines to compensate for a failed investigation, set their sights on Mr. Stone.  Roger Stone is well known for his nearly 50 years of work as a consultant for high-profile Republican politicians, including President Ronald Reagan, Senator Bob Dole, and many others.  He is also well known for his outspoken support for President Donald J. Trump and opposition to Hillary Clinton.Mr. Stone was charged by the same prosecutors from the Mueller Investigation tasked with finding evidence of collusion with Russia.  Because no such evidence exists, however, they could not charge him for any collusion-related crime.  Instead, they charged him for his conduct during their investigation.  The simple fact is that if the Special Counsel had not been pursuing an absolutely baseless investigation, Mr. Stone would not be facing time in prison.

In addition to charging Mr. Stone with alleged crimes arising solely from their own improper investigation, the Mueller prosecutors also took pains to make a public and shameful spectacle of his arrest.  Mr. Stone is a 67-year-old man, with numerous medical conditions, who had never been convicted of another crime.  But rather than allow him to surrender himself, they used dozens of FBI agents with automatic weapons and tactical equipment, armored vehicles, and an amphibious unit to execute a pre-dawn raid of his home, where he was with his wife of many years.  Notably, CNN cameras were present to broadcast these events live to the world, even though they swore they were not notified—it was just a coincidence that they were there together with the FBI early in the morning.

Not only was Mr. Stone charged by overzealous prosecutors pursing a case that never should have existed, and arrested in an operation that never should have been approved, but there were also serious questions about the jury in the case.  The forewoman of his jury, for example, concealed the fact that she is a member of the so-called liberal “resistance” to the Trump Presidency.  In now-deleted tweets, this activist-juror vividly and openly attacked President Trump and his supporters.

Mr. Stone would be put at serious medical risk in prison.  He has appealed his conviction and is seeking a new trial.  He maintains his innocence and has stated that he expects to be fully exonerated by the justice system.  Mr. Stone, like every American, deserves a fair trial and every opportunity to vindicate himself before the courts.  The President does not wish to interfere with his efforts to do so.  At this time, however, and particularly in light of the egregious facts and circumstances surrounding his unfair prosecution, arrest, and trial, the President has determined to commute his sentence.  Roger Stone has already suffered greatly.  He was treated very unfairly, as were many others in this case.  Roger Stone is now a free man!

[End]

What the White House leaves out is the fact that Stone has been bankrupted by this despicable, Soviet-style persecution, forced to sell his home to pay his legal bills, and has been denied the right to make a living for over a year by the corrupt leftist judge in the case, Obama appointee Amy Berman Jackson.

This was not a fair trial – it is not how the American system of justice is supposed to function. Because of that undeniable reality, this commutation is completely justified.

Roger Stone is no threat to anyone, and it is fair to point out that the very same leftist nitwits who are wailing about this action on Twitter remained studiously silent when Barack Obama used his powers of pardon and commutation hundreds of times to free drug offenders and others who had committed violent crimes.

Enjoy your freedom, Mr. Stone, and don’t screw it up.

That is all.

Twitter Begins Move to De-Platform President Trump

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II

Don’t look now, but Twitter is beginning its move to de-platform the President. – Twitter took the first step towards what will almost certainly become an eventual de-platforming of President Trump’s account Wednesday. Check out the little blue blurb at the bottom of the tweets below:

Hilariously, clicking on the “Get the facts” note takes you to completely false articles by corrupt outlets like CNN on the matter of mail-in voting. But that’s what Twitter does.

Look, you should expect the President’s account to be banned completely well before the Republican National Convention in August. Twitter already moved to restrict paid political advertising on its platform when it became obvious that the Trump Campaign was miles ahead of the Democrats in the social media space. That’s what all of this Kabuki theatre over the past week between Morning Mika and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has been all about – they’ve just been setting the stage for the final act.

All of the social media platforms – Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Instagram and all the rest – are completely in the tank for the Democrats and in the pocket of the ChiCom government. They are going to do whatever they can to get China Joe Biden – or whomever the Democrats actually nominate – elected this year.

As I was writing this, President Trump responded to Twitter’s action by – you guessed it – issuing more tweets:

That’s great, but it’s a little late in the game. In August of 2018, as it was becoming apparent that the Democrats had a chance to take over control of the House of Representatives, I wrote a piece advising Mr. Trump to channel his inner Teddy Roosevelt, and use his second two years in office to employ the nation’s anti-trust laws against the social media monopolies.

Here, in part, is what I wrote at that time:

So, imagine this scenario if you will:  Executives from ExxonMobil, BP, Shell, Chevron and Total all get together in a room talk about implementing the exact same gasoline price increase on the following day.  Then they all go out the following day and implement that exact same gasoline price increase while publicly admitting what they’re doing.

Those folks are in a hell of a lot of trouble under our nation’s anti-trust laws, wouldn’t you say?  Yes, if you have firing synapses in your cranial cavity, that’s exactly what you would say.

It wouldn’t matter if you like those oil companies or hate those oil companies, and it doesn’t matter if you like their customers or hate their customers.  Those companies are all publicly traded corporations who together control a major share of the U.S. gasoline market, and are thus prevented from engaging in monopolistic behavior, such as fixing prices for their products.  Thus, assuming the Department of Justice actually performed its job – which is always a crap shoot these days, I admit – those executives would soon find themselves on the receiving end of subpoenas soon likely to be followed by indictments.

Now, imagine another scenario:  It’s January 2019 and President Donald Trump finds himself and his administration under unending assault from congress, where the Democrat Party has managed to win a thin majority in the House of Representatives in the mid-term elections.  No, I don’t think this is likely to actually happen, but play along with me here.

The President is very frustrated because, as hard as it has been to get congress to do anything with its current thin GOP majorities in both houses, it is now impossible to get anything through the new #Resistance Democrat House.  The Democrats are in the process of trying to impeach and remove him from office, but won’t be able to come up with the votes in either house of congress to do so, as their own house members who won traditionally GOP districts in 2018 are reluctant to adopt that fool’s errand as their own.

So, it’s gridlock in Washington, DC, and Donald Trump is not a guy who deals well with gridlock.  He’s got two more years to get stuff done before his re-election bid rolls around, and is left with accomplishing things either through the regulatory process, executive orders or, if he can get his attorney general to act, the courts. What to do?

It may be that several giant social media corporations just answered that question on Monday.  The leaders of Apple, Facebook, YouTube, Spotify and Pinterest all got together and decided – at the persistent urging of CNN and various leading Democrats – to remove radio talk show host and conspiracy promoter Alex Jones from their platforms permanently.  The same kind of monopolistic action denying an American citizen access to their platforms and the commerce he derives from them on the same day.  Classic corporate trust behavior.

Now, it doesn’t matter if you like these giant corporations or hate these giant corporations; it doesn’t matter if you like Alex Jones or hate Alex Jones.  These companies are publicly-traded corporations who cannot by law band together for the purpose of restraint of trade or denial of access to any class of people, and that’s exactly what they did to Mr. Jones on Monday.  And it’s what these huge corporations, along with their sister social media platform, Twitter, have been doing to conservative users of their products for years now.  This is why, whenever they get caught denying access to conservatives, they always blame the issue on some sort of “glitch.”

And it’s not just trust behavior that they are executing here.  They’re also in blatant violation of campaign finance laws.  In a very real way, their actions amount to massive in-kind political contributions to the Democrat Party.  They apparently believe they are above the law, and if Jeff Sessions turns out to be the worthless swamp skunk many believe him to be, they could be right, at least for the time being.

But if the elections go the wrong way this November, President Trump will likely be looking for ways to keep on #Winning on domestic policy during his second two years in office.  Playing a Teddy Rooseveltian Trust Buster to the foil of these increasingly radicalized and abusive Big Tech corporations might have a real appeal to him, and could end up being just the ticket to taking the congress back in 2020 and winning a second term in office.

Stranger things have happened.  Hell, stranger things happen every day, don’t they?

[End]

Yes, stranger things do happen every day, and they are only going to keep growing ever more strange in the social media space until the Justice Department begins to take real actions to restrain them from their blatant interference in our national elections. DOJ has been taking some baby steps in this direction over the past two years, but now it’s time to bring out some big guns.

Because, left to their own devices, these social media monopolies will do everything they can to swing this election China’s way. It’s as certain as that sun you see rising every morning in the east.

That is all.

Liberals go Crazy Because Gorsuch says…Merry Christmas????

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Every time you get to thinking the liberal outrage mob on Twitter cannot possibly get any more stupid or insane than they already are, they go out and prove you wrong. – Supreme Court justice Neil Gorsuch appeared on Fox and Friends Tuesday morning to promote some new book he has written, something fellow justices like Sonya Sotomayor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg have also done in recent years on CNN and MSNBC.

Justice Gorsuch’s appearance would have likely gone unremarked but for the fact that, as he was signing off, he wished the program’s hosts a “Merry Christmas.”

Predictably, the anti-Christian bigots in the liberal outrage mob on Twitter went utterly and completely berserk over that one. As a public service to our readers, we here at the Campaign Update have herewith compiled some of the dumbest, nastiest and just plain idiotic…er…est tweets issued by the liberal lunatics, just so you don’t have to dive into the Twitter cesspool yourselves.

So, here we go, starting with this from Alinskyite Lawfare lawyer Susan Hennessey, who says it is “weird” for a SC justice to promote a book in one phrase, then acknowledges that other SC justices have done the same exact thing in her very next thought. No wonder she’s a CNN contributor:

Then there’s some guy named (checks tweet) Sean Kent, who apparently is some sort of half-assed comic, who is outraged that Justice Gorsuch had the temerity to utter the phrase “Merry Christmas” during this, the Christmas season of the year:

Image

Oh, but it just gets better…

Here’s little growth-stunted, bald-headed Brian Stelter exhibiting his consistent utter lack of any self-awareness whatsoever:

…and here is Garrett Ventry informing Mr. pea-brain why his tweet is so utterly clueless:

Oh.

But it gets better still. Here is some person named “Molly McKew” who claims she is some sort of foreign policy expert, brainlessly wondering why Justice Gorsuch is, um…..well, you can read it:

Oh, I dunno, Molly, maybe because HE WAS INVITED???? Good lord.

Ok, y’all, hide the kids now, because this clown, who claim he is both – BOTH, I tell you – an “award-winning artist” and…wait for it…oh, you have to wait for this one… a “SPORTS CARD STORE OWNER” [!!!!!] is all, like, totes angry about it all:

Yeah! You tell ’em, Tony Posnansky, you sports card store owner and award-winning artist, you!

*sigh*

But believe it or not, we aren’t done yet.

Ladies and gentlemen (or whatever your preferred pronouns might be – I personally prefer “Tex” and “Bubba”), I give you a person who calls herself “Mayday Mindy”, whose Twitter profile actually, really and truly reads:

I say what People Think?Anti Trump??2 dogs 3 kids❤️?I was the artsy semi cute cool girl

Oh, cooooooools, Mindy! LULZ! TOTES! You rule!
*sigh*
Anyway, here’s what the artsy semi cute cool girl had to say about the Justice’s appearance on Fox and Friends:

I know – hardly seemed worth all the build-up, right? Right.

But don’t worry, I have saved the very best of the Twitter Outrage Mob’s outrage-fest for last. Friends, I give you the stylings of one Amee Vanderpool, or as she calls herself on Twitter, @girlsreallyrule:

Image

So, there you have it: In today’s liberal Twitter Outrage Mob Culture, the phrase 98% of you grew up saying throughout your entire childhoods – “Merry Christmas” – is now officially nothing more than a “talking point of the GOP,” and a “Republican narrative.” No more “Merry Christmas” for Democrats no sir, er, ma’am, er, it, er…nevermind.

You seriously could never make these people up, folks. Never in a million years.

That is all.

Two Toddlers Give us a Glimpse of America Outside of the Perpetual Outrage Mob

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

See? There is still justice in America. – If you were as outraged last year by the absurdly-light 30-day sentence handed down to the attacker of Senator Rand Paul, well, take heart: That case was remanded back to the federal district court that issued it yesterday by the 6th Circuit Court of appeals. The 6th Circuit ruled that the district judge lacked a “compelling justification” for the light sentence for the commission of an assault on a member of congress so brutal that Sen. Paul is still trying to recover fully from it.

The new Three Stooges: Sleepy, Sleazy and Dopey.

Image may contain: 3 people, people smiling, closeup

If Vaudeville – where the original Three Stooges got their start – still existed, these guys would be a huge hit.

This is what real America – as opposed to social media/conventional media perpetual outrage America – really looks like:

Those of us who pay close attention to the news and are active on social media tend to forget that. The merchants of perpetual outrage at places like CNN, the New York Times, Facebook and Twitter want you all to believe that America is this horrible place where everyone hates everyone else and where every day in every city is just another confrontation between Antifa terrorists and the Proud Boys agitators. Conventional media and social media outlets want you to believe that that is the world you all live in because that belief generates traffic to their websites and viewers to their TV channels.

That’s the America they’re all trying to create.

But real America is different, and the real America perseveres.

The real America is a place in which my wife and I could take our entire three-generation family to spend a week in New York City last December and never experience anything but lovely, pleasant interactions with people of all races, colors, religions and creeds in crowded places all over the city.

The real America is the place where you go to your grandkids’ elementary school for Grandparents’ Lunch day, and spend an hour watching hundreds of children of all races, economic standing and upbringings and dozens of teachers and school administrators do nothing but smile, laugh and dine with one another.

The real America is the place where you go to the local Wal-Mart or Target or grocery store and don’t for a moment notice or care what the race or political leanings of the people shopping and working there happens to be.

The real America is the place where tens of millions of people get up every morning and go to work and engage in all manner of collaborative efforts with people from all manner of backgrounds and ages and get real stuff done that generates economic growth and improves our society. And then they get a group of those same people together to go grab a beer when they’re done working.

The real America is the place where tens of millions of people still get up on the Sabbath and go to churches, synagogues and mosques in thousands of cities in all 50 states.

The real America is the place where millions of little kids like the two in that video run up and hug each other and express real, genuine love because that is their natural behavior. The people at ABC who posted that video on Twitter yesterday want you to think that is a rare thing, but it’s something you can see everywhere in America every day if you just pay attention.

The perpetual outrage and hate thrown at us every day by the conventional media and social media mobs are learned behaviors, not our natural state.

The real America is the place in which tens of millions of ordinary, every day people of all religions, all races, all colors, all social standings and all backgrounds refuse to learn those behaviors.

That real America drives the perpetual outrage mob nuts. Keep it up.

That is all.

Business Roundtable Issues a Giant Virtue Signal

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

And you thought virtue signaling was just for c-list celebrities and politicians on Twitter. – In what is perhaps the biggest collective virtue signal in American history, the CEOs of 180 U.S. companies issued a “statement of purpose” yesterday in which they claim that corporations should prioritize social responsibility over profits.

Investors who actually want to see a return on their investment no doubt were somewhat surprised to know that these members of the Business Roundtable, led by J.P. Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon, now have a higher priority than ensuring their companies’ profitability. If I were an employee at any of the companies – which include such giants as Amazon and American Airlines – I’d probably be updating my resume’ this morning in anticipation of the layoffs to come as my company spirals into irrelevance.

Ok, not really. Look, this entire thing is a massive charade, a cynical dodge issued by a bunch of CEOs who are under assault from left-wing activist “investor” groups. These CEOs don’t really mean any of this, they just believe that their virtue-signaling can placate the radical leftists. Which is an incredibly stupid thought process, to be honest, but it’s a mistake corporate leaders in the U.S. keep making over and over and over again.

For gosh sakes, the only reason for any corporation to be in business is to make a profit. Do they have an obligation to be socially responsible in many ways during the course of generating profits? Sure. That’s what thousands of the laws and regulations they must comply with every day are designed to effect.

Beyond adhering to the letter and spirit of those laws and regulations, does any corporation have any further obligation to society at large? Hell, no. To the extent these companies go over and above that baseline, with charitable foundations and involvement in community programs and the like, the smart ones are careful to ensure they do not do so in a way that destroys shareholder value. Because at the end of the day, without the buy-in of those shareholders, those corporations will cease to exist.

Businesses are not the government, nor are they charitable organizations, and we don’t want them to be. Because the moment a business tries to become something else and loses its focus on the reason why it is in business in the first place, that business is going to begin to fall apart.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is one of the signatories to this “statement.” If he were to truly follow through with prioritizing social responsibility over profits, those packages you enjoy reliably receiving the next day will soon take 3 days to arrive, then 7 days, and eventually they won’t show up at all.

Amazon is a business. It’s leadership must retain a hyper-focus on its business and on maintaining its profitability. The moment Bezos and his leadership team loses that focus will be the moment the business begins to fall apart.

The presence of American Airlines on this letter is frankly shocking, given the long-term, chronic profitability struggles it and all other U.S. airline companies have gone through for decades. American’s business is a far more vital one than Amazon’s: It’s job is to safely transport hundreds of thousands of passengers each and every day from one city to another in gigantic aluminum tubes with wings flying at 35,000 feet.

Trust me: We want American and all other airlines to keep a myopic focus on their business, not on supporting whatever politically correct cause is popular at any given time with 22 year-olds who spend 20 hours a day on Twitter. The moment any airline loses its focus on what really is Job One is the moment passengers’ lives become endangered.

But again, the good news here is that this entire thing is a massive charade, a meaningless gesture that is simply a lame attempt to placate a leftist mob. The Business Roundtable leaders are making the same mistake made by hundreds of celebrities who make some non-politically correct remark in thinking that they can placate the mob by essentially apologizing to it.

It won’t work. Gestures like this only legitimize the mob and end up emboldening them. Can’t wait to see what politically-correct move these CEOs make next year, after their companies find themselves under even more intense assault by the mob they emboldened yesterday.

Good luck with all that, Jamie and Jeff.

That is all.

Social Media Giants are a Threat to the Republic

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

You seriously cannot make this stuff up, folks. – Democrat activists in Hollywood are planning to release a movie in September in which Trumps supporters are dehumanized by being portrayed as no better than game animals to be hunted for sport by the nation’s “elite.” Breitbart reports that ESPN made the decision over the weekend to pull ads for the film, uncreatively titled “The Hunt,” from its dying channel over the weekend in the wake of the mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton.

This film is an obvious, blatant dog-whistle attempt by Hollywood’s ruling leftist community to encourage even more violence against Trump supporters, who are already being targeted by Democrat-affiliated activists like Antifa all around the nation. Interestingly, the Democrat activists who run Facebook apparently understand the potential liability being assumed by any platform that advertises for the hate film, given that, when I attempted to post a link to the Breitbart article linked here on my Facebook feed last night, the post was locked and I received a warning that the article and trailer within it did not meet Facebook’s fake “community standards related to nudity and sexual content.” The problem with that lie is that anyone who views the trailer can clearly see that it contains neither nudity nor sexual content.

When I attempted to post the link a second time, I was put in Facebook prison for 24 hours. Hilarious. But hey, I did break the rules in that second attempt, so I really have no issue with that action and am happy to take my medicine. However, I do object to Facebook’s pretense that it actually has any “community standards,” because “standards” are things that are enforced uniformly. What Facebook actually has are tools that it uses to suppress speech its Democrat activists do not approve of. That isn’t “standards,” that’s censorship.

Meanwhile, over on Twitter, the censorship is even more absurd. – When violent protesters, led by local leaders of the Soros-funded Black Lives Matter hate group, descended on Mitch McConnell’s home in Louisville, KY, some of them took video of the obscenity-and-threat-filled festivities and posted them to social media, including on Twitter.

But when @Team_Mitch shared the video on its own account, the Democrat activists who run Twitter suspended the account on the laughable claim that it  “violated our violent threats policy, specifically threats involving physical safety.” Mind you, this was Mitch McConnell simply exposing threats being made on his own person at his own home.

But it gets better. Twitter also suspended the account of Ryan Saavedra, a reporter for Daily Wire, for sharing the ugly video, but has not suspended the account for Black Lives Matter or any other activist who shared it. Twitter also has not suspended anyone who has spread the hateful #MassacreMitch hashtag which went viral on its platform on Wednesday.

As reported by @TheHill,

The video included Black Lives Matter Louisville leader Chanelle Helm repeatedly cursing and stating that she wished the GOP leader had ‘broken his little, raggedy, wrinkled-ass neck’ instead of injuring his shoulder last weekend, the Louisville Courier-Journal reported. Helm later said, ‘Just stab the motherf—er in the heart’ after a man made a reference to a voodoo doll. The comment quickly went viral on social media.

Perhaps Twitter’s reluctance to take any action against Black Lives Matter stems from its well-publicized partnership with the Soros hate group designed to promote exactly this kind of hateful activism across its platform. You think?

These are just two of thousands of incidents that have led the White House to begin drafting an executive order that would somehow address the blatant anti-conservative bias that permeates all the major social media platforms. As Politico reports:

The White House is circulating drafts of a proposed executive order that would address allegations of anti-conservative bias by social media companies, according to a White House official and two other people familiar with the matter — a month after President Donald Trump pledged to explore “all regulatory and legislative solutions” on the issue.

None of the three would describe the contents of the order, which one person cautioned has already taken many different forms and remains in flux. But its existence, and the deliberations surrounding it, are evidence that the administration is taking a serious look at wielding the federal government’s power against Silicon Valley.

An executive order is fine as a first step, but one that is likely to have very little impact on the behavior of these corporate giants. The Administration really needs to step up the efforts at regulatory agencies like the SEC, the FCC, the FEC, the IRS and others to rein them in, because their biased behavior represents a clear and present danger to our constitutional republic at this point.

This is not complicated: If an oil company provided free gasoline and jet fuel to Democrat campaigns, that would be an illegal contribution punishable with severe penalties, and properly so. The same should apply to Google, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and all the other big tech platforms and their tireless efforts to provide billions of dollars in free support across their platforms for Democrat candidates.

We broke up Standard Oil 115 years ago and AT&T 35 years ago. There is no reason we should not do the same with these social media giants in 2019. To paraphrase John F. Kennedy, they should be broken into a thousand pieces and scattered to the winds.

That is all.

With Just Two Tweets, Trump Puts The Squad in Full Control of the Democrat Party

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Man, you go on vacation and all hell breaks loose. – Seriously, it happens every time. Of course, we are in the age of President Donald Trump, so all hell breaks loose pretty much every day. But most of the time, there is a method to the President’s madness, and this time is no exception. It’s important that we all understand it.

Basically, as of Tuesday, President Trump put The Squad in full and complete control of the Democrat Party. The Squad is pictured here:

These four vicious, racist, anti-Semitic, anti-American scumbags now control the U.S. House of Representatives. They are now fully identified in the public’s mind as the face of the national Democrat Party. When they go to the polls next year, American voters will have images of these four sneering anti-American bigots at the front of their minds as what and who they will be voting for if they vote for Democrat candidates.

Yeah, the Democrat ticket will have someone like Kamala Harris or Fauxcahontas or someone not yet in the race at the top, but a vote for any Democrat for any office just became a vote for the policy choices and political thuggery represented by the four brutish women pictured above.

Trump’s Sunday morning tweets were no accident, and they did this.  Coming just at a time in which many Democrat office-holders were waking up to the threat The Squad represents to their Party and were beginning to condemn the four thugs, those tweets created the single greatest virtue-signaling frenzy in American history. As literally every left-leaning white male and female in the nation rushed to get onto Twitter and Facebook and improperly label the tweets as “racist” (they aren’t), all of those almost-woke Democrat officeholders now had no alternative but to line up, log-in and signal some damn virtue of their own.

As a result, the Democrat Party is now unalterably entangled with the jack-booted, bigoted, Pol Pot-like policies being pursued by The squad. The 2020 elections will now be a referendum on those policies, and they will not go well for the Democrats or their new leaders.

This new ad from the RNC gives you a preview of how it’s all going to play out:

Genius.  Now, back to my vacation.

Anti-Trust Actions Against Big Tech Firms Are About to be a Thing

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Meanwhile, in news that actually matters to Americans… – While everyone else is focused on President Donald Trump’s first state visit to the future Islamic Republic of England, paying tribute to a monarchy that is doomed to fall within a generation, I thought I’d focus on something of actual substance.

If you perused the Drudge Report this morning – which I still do despite his lurch off into leftist paranoia over the past year – you would find the following links at the right side of the landing page:

PLANET TECH ROCKED: AMAZON PRIMED FOR ANTITRUST…

GOOGLE Dominance No Longer Sure Thing…

Scrutiny by Justice Dept Has Been Building…

Few political allies, history of complaints…

WIRE: Big Tech Should Be Afraid. Very Afraid…

Europe’s record offers cautions for battle…

I’ve been wondering how long it would take us to arrive at this specific point in our nation’s history, when the trust-busting ghost of Teddy Roosevelt would ride back onto the stage in the person of Donald J. Trump and a Justice Department led by a real, fully-functional Attorney General named William Barr. Well, folks here we are.

Regular readers of The Campaign Update might recall that way back on August 7, 2018, I predicted this day would arrive and that when it did, President Trump would unleash the full force and fury of the Justice Department, the IRS, the SEC and every other government agency in his arsenal – including the Federal Elections Commission – to rein in the big tech giants who have been busily undermining the very foundations of our individual liberties by denying freedom of unpopular speech to an entire class of right-wing pundits.

I wrote that August 7 piece right after several of the tech giants had banded together in clearly anti-trust fashion to de-platform radio talk show host Alex Jones and his various enterprises. Here is part of what I wrote at that time:

You can read all of those pieces to which Drudge is linking this morning, and you should. They do a fine job of laying out part of the rough road that lies ahead for the social media tools of the Democrat Party. If you only have time to read one, read the Bloomberg piece by Shira Ovide titled “Google Should Be Afraid, Very Afraid.” Ovide lays out the DOJ investigation into Google’s obviously Democrat-tilted practices, but you can bet that similar investigations are ongoing right now into the equally-blatant anti-conservative practices taking place on platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Spotify, Pinterest and all the rest.

Because they have all been blatantly engaged in a coordinated assault on the ability of a specific class of people to engage in interstate commerce, no different than the practices by Standard Oil and all the other trusts that Teddy Roosevelt busted during the early years of the 20th century.

President Trump has yet to really focus on this topic personally, other than an occasional tweet or press statement slamming one tech giant or another. But the existence of this many reports at a single point in time by a variety of media outlets tells you that the wheels of justice within these government agencies have been turning steadily behind the scenes and stuff is about to get real publicly pretty soon. Coordinated media reporting like this does not take place by accident. It happens because people involved are feeding reporters information in order to set the stage for the next steps to come.

The President will turn his focus to the subject at a strategic point in time that is most advantageous to him politically, because the politics of all of this are very strong for him. That could happen as early as his return from the G20 Summit in late June, or months from now at a key point in the presidential campaign.

One thing we can be sure of is that the modern-day version of Teddy Roosevelt will be coming at some point, and when he does, hell is coming with him.

That is all.

Beto O’Rourke Must Turn on the Media that Invented Him

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Some free advice for Beto O’Rourke. – I suppose that I should preface this long piece by reminding readers that I have no love for Irish Bob O’Rourke. In fact, what I really hold for him more than anything else is contempt. The substance-devoid empty suit from El Paso finds himself today in a predicament of his own making, a situation in which his once-promising presidential campaign is mired in weak also-ran status in a crowded field that is occupied by more capable and more-clever candidates.

Irish Bob’s situation is compounded by the reality that the elite, northeastern fake news media establishment that literally put the presidential bug in his ear by fawning all over him for the last six months of 2018 has now turned on him because he waited too long to bend the knee and consummate its courtship of him. Since he finally announced his candidacy in March – the fickle nature of the fake media demanded he do so in December, January at the outside – he has been treated as a stepchild, hit by a series of negative stories and given the back of the hand by elitist media outlets angry that he hasn’t shown up on their doorsteps with a bouquet of roses in-hand and tickets to that night’s Knicks game for them.

A friend pointed me to a really good May 15 piece posted by Vanity Fair titled “How the Media Fell Out of Love with Beto O’Rourke,” which interestingly sounds like a title we would use here at the Campaign Update. We’ve certainly come close to it in the past, and written on the same basic theme, albeit in a more sarcastic way.

The Vanity Fair piece is written from an obviously more friendly perspective towards O’Rourke, but chronicles the same basic story we’ve chronicled here. It is very long, but a really good read and I encourage everyone to read it in full.

Here are some outtakes I want to emphasize this morning:

Since announcing his campaign for president in mid-March, just two months ago, O’Rourke has gone from the media darling who almost beat Ted Cruz in Texas to the designated punching bag of the pundit class. Harry Siegel of the Daily Beast called Beto a “manchild” on Twitter, while sharing a lacerating piece from the columnist Margaret Carlson, who wrote about “her unscientific poll asking every woman I see” and the conclusion that O’Rourke, the married father of three who enjoys making Sunday morning pancakes for his family, reminds them of “the worst boyfriend they ever had.”

Oof.

The press commentary swirling around O’Rourke has been like this for months—mockery first, re-tweets second, sober analysis third.

“A presidential campaign is several universes away from a statewide campaign,” said Republican strategist Kevin Madden, a former adviser on both of Mitt Romney’s presidential campaigns. “It’s 10 times harder. The scrutiny is just so much greater. Your worst day on Capitol Hill or in the statehouse or on a Senate campaign is three times worse every day on a presidential campaign…You can’t escape the media. You have to have a plan to deal with them.”

O’Rourke is trying to repair the damage this week, stopping by New York greenrooms that’s he’s so far been shunning, making appearances on The Rachel Maddow Show and The View. And as he did during his Senate run, he’s also booked an appearance at a CNN town hall, a format that’s proven to be a ratings and fund-raising bonanza for candidates like Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttigieg.

So, those capture the basic theme, which is: 1) The media fell in love with “Beto” last year and made him as a senatorial candidate; 2) Beto tried to mostly ignore them early in his presidential campaign, taking it right to the grassroots instead; 3) The fickle media elitists turned on him in a typically vicious manner; and 4) Beto is now dutifully making the rounds on bended knee.

But it’s probably all too late, if the goal is to have the media elitists go back to loving their former flame. The damage has been done, and it’s hard to rekindle the kind of media love Irish Bob received in 2018. Besides, in 2018 he was running against one of the most media-hated Republican in the nation; now, he’s running against a pack of beloved fellow Democrats. Making the rounds and passing out Knicks tickets probably isn’t gonna undo this damage.

To me, the key for a possible O’Rourke comeback lies in one passage a little over halfway through the piece:

“I guess I still haven’t heard the Ted Kennedy answer from him,” said former South Carolina legislator Boyd Brown, an early O’Rourke supporter in the primary state. Brown was invoking Kennedy’s devastating failure to answer CBS anchor Roger Mudd’s question “Why do you want to be president?” days before his 1980 campaign launch. Still, Brown, who is 32, told me that O’Rourke “personifies” and “embodies” the “views of my generation,” pointing to his climate-change plan as the most ambitious of any Democrat running. But he also bristled at the national press for harping on O’Rourke’s personality and missteps. “Who the hell wants to go on TV and get talked over and lectured by a bunch of D.C. and New York types? I’m old enough to remember when friends of mine in the journalism profession would go out of their way not to show bias. Now it feels like they have cheapened the overall profession because they want a lot of likes and re-tweets on Twitter. Reporters want to be woke on Twitter and get their 15 minutes of fame. It’s devalued journalism.”

You hear that, Irish Bob? Your natural base voters don’t really have any more use for the Margaret Carlsons of the world than I do. They have different reasons for that dislike, but it is there and it is simmering just below the surface, waiting for you or some other candidate in the race to tap into it.

Here’s the thing: O’Rourke is sitting there at 3-5% in the polls, mired in the middle of a field crowded with politicians who are just as craven and ambitious as he is. It is in that millieu that he must find a way to differentiate himself, to stand out in that crowd.

Is he going to get that done by dutifully doing the same lame appearances on all the daytime and late night talk shows and CNN townhalls that everyone else is doing? Is he going to do that by announcing a “Climate Change” plan that wastes one or two trillion dollars more than these 7 rivals, but one or two trillion less than those other 10 to 12 rivals?

The answer is obvious. That’s just spinning your skateboard wheels, waving your arms and failing.

But ask yourself this: Which Democrat candidate right now is loudly criticizing any media outlet other than the standard Democrat bogeyman, Fox News?

There’s your opportunity to stand out. Get out there and talk about how you’re a Texan from Flyover Country, from the heart of our nation, fighting against the elite northeastern media. Talk about how these snarky fake journalists are devaluing their profession in their never-ending grasp for more re-tweets and followers. Talk about how you are suddenly the outsider in this race, fighting for the interests of the little guy against the elite media and your party’s establishment, which want to tilt the playing field in favor of Party regulars like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren, elitists favoring fellow elitists.

In other words, Irish Bob, if you really want to stand out among this crowd of pandering, groveling, hack politicians, you need to start sounding a lot like…wait for it…Donald J. Trump, circa 2015.

Mr. Brown has given you some really sound advice in that Vanity Fair piece, and Mr. Trump has already shown you the way. It may or may not work, but it’s really the only chance you have remaining at this point.

Are you smart enough to take that chance?

That is all.

Joe Biden Fumbles Through the Democrat Playbook in South Carolina

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Another day, another half-filled high school gym. – When President Donald Trump (I never tire of typing those three glorious words) goes to a state, any state, to hold a rally, his advance people book the largest local enclosed arena, and he ends up speaking to a packed house of thousands with thousands more standing outside, watching on huge video screens.

When Joe Biden, the runaway leader in Democrat presidential nomination polls, goes to a state, any state, to hold a rally, his advance people ask the friendliest local high school principal to hold open his gymnasium for free, force as many of his kids as possible to be in attendance, and the candidate ends up speaking to a crowd of dozens. Don’t believe me? Here’s Creepy Uncle Joe coming into his South Carolina rally on Saturday:

Note to the intern who runs the Biden Twitter feed:  You’d be a lot better off hiding embarrassing video clips like that one. But please, ignore that advice, because this is fun.

Lots of stuff going on with the Biden campaign, most of it highly predicable, given the age and nature and party of the candidate. The most predictable part is that he’s basing his campaign on the standard Democrat playbook, which is lying and scaring people: Scaring the old folks, scaring the young folks, scaring black folks, scaring the gay folks – scare as many people as you can, because that’s the only way you can convince anybody to vote for a Democrat.

Hell, Biden’s even resorting to scaring working folks, because pretty much everybody is working these days thanks to Trump’s economy. His appeal to working folks is to say, yeah, you’ve got a job, but how is your boss treating you? Like some Democrat president is going to come into office and police all the bosses to be nicer to their employees, or something. It would be hilarious if you didn’t know that, deep down in his heart, he’s actually being serious.

Down in South Carolina, he did what Democrats always do first in that state, which is scare the Black folks. That’s like on Page 3 of the Democrat primary playbook, right after scaring the farmers in Iowa and scaring the communists in New Hampshire.

On Saturday, Biden told that high school gymnasium half-filled with mostly black folks that “You’ve got Jim Crow sneaking back in,” referring to the era of “separate but equal laws that held sway in much of the South prior to the civil rights movement of the ’50s and ’60s. It’s a damnable lie, but hey, he is a Democrat. This is what Democrats do.

A few hours later, speaking to a sparsely-attended fundraising dinner, the 76 year-old Biden slurred his words and referred to the current Prime Minister of Great Britain as “Margaret Thatcher.” Lady Thatcher, of course, left that office in 1990 and passed away in 2013. Biden’s been slurring his words at all of his campaign events, an issue that can be hidden by a friendly fake news media for awhile, but which will become starkly obvious once the televised debates begin.

Perhaps all of this explains why we continue to see more and more reporters complaining about being bullied by Biden’s staff, who are working very hard to prevent their frail, elderly candidate from having to actually answer a few questions from the press. Here’s an example from one of the complaining reporters:

The woman with the pony tail in that video is becoming infamous among the press corps, as she pushes and shoves reporters at every Biden stop to ensure they can’t get close enough for him to hear their questions.

We’ve been through all of this with a frail Democrat candidate before, of course, as we witnessed the Pantsuit Princess’s staff abusing the press corps throughout the 2016 campaign. At one point, the Fainting Felon’s staffers literally strung a rope around the press gaggle to hold them away from their sickly candidate; at another event, they actually locked one reporter in a broom closet to keep him from shouting uncomfortable questions.

Of course, you couldn’t blame them: The Grasping Grifter had all manner of health issues going on and she hasn’t uttered a public word in forty years that wasn’t written for her by someone else. She could never be trusted to take extemporaneous questions in the way President Trump does on an almost daily basis.

The same holds true for Biden. Even as a younger man, Biden was a gaffe-prone circus clown – you literally never knew what might come out of his mouth at any given time. Now that he’s older and his mind is obviously slowing down pretty rapidly (no shame in that – it happens to all of us) he cannot be trusted by his own staff to to field off-the-cuff questions from the press corps.

Biden is simply too old for this job. He just is. Again, there is no shame in that – I have nothing against elderly people and aspire to become one myself in the not-too-distant future. But our country simply cannot afford to have a frail, elderly man whose mind is obviously slipping occupying the Oval Office for four long years.

Biden had his window of opportunity four years ago, when he was still fairly cogent, to seek this office and passed it up under pressure from the Coughing Crook and Barack Obama. That window is now closed, though he hasn’t figured that out quite yet. But as the excitement over his long-delayed entry into this race fades, and the fake news media goes back to keeping its prom dates with Mayor Pete and Kamala Harris, the Democrat voter base will figure it out for him.

Joe Biden’s already had his best polling days in this race. It’s all downhill from here.

That is all.

If Eric Swalwell gets elected to the presidency in 2020, he will be living proof that you can’t spell POTUS without the “POS.” – First, he threatened to nuke gun owners on his Twitter feed. Next, he proposed a plan to use Australia and New Zealand as his role model countries for his plans to confiscate your guns.

Now, the farcical college frat party planner from California tells the execrable CNN host Jake Tapper that he would send gun owners to prison should they refuse to comply with his Stalinist gun grab. If your fondest wish is to bring a violent civil war to this country, vote Swalwell in 2020! He’s your man.

By the way, everyone is aware that Swalwell is not in this race because he thinks he has the slightest chance of winning it, right? He is obviously a token, put up to it by Party leaders as a stalking horse to try to gin the public up on the gun control issue. He’s going to be the guy out there promoting all of these radical “solutions” to gun violence so that the other, more viable candidates don’t have to do it themselves.

This way, the Democrat Party and its media co-conspirators keep the gun grabbing issue constantly in the news cycle throughout the nominating process, helping to normalize it in the public consciousness while at the same time allowing the actual leaders in the race to avoid it almost entirely. The hope is to create enough media attention on the subject to allow the eventual Democrat nominee to latch onto the issue on the pretense that Swalwell’s advocacy created some sort of popular groundswell.

If you think the Democrats would never stoop to such an underhanded, dishonest strategy, well, what planet have you been living on for the last 25 years?

Guess who wrote this stuff. – Here are some outtakes from a wonderful opinion piece out there on the interwebnets today. See if you can guess the identity profile of the person who wrote them:

We are so well off here in the United States that our poverty line begins 31 times above the global average. Thirty. One. Times. Virtually no one in the United States is considered poor by global standards. Yet, in a time where we can order a product off Amazon with one click and have it at our doorstep the next day, we are unappreciative, unsatisfied, and ungrateful…

Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently said to Newsweek talking about the millennial generation, “An entire generation, which is now becoming one of the largest electorates in America, came of age and never saw American prosperity.”…

Never saw American prosperity. Let that sink in. When I first read that statement, I thought to myself, that was quite literally the most entitled and factually illiterate thing I’ve ever heard … Now, I’m not attributing Miss Ocasio-Cortez’s words to outright dishonesty. I do think she whole-heartedly believes the words she said to be true…

Let me lay down some universal truths really quick. The United States of America has lifted more people out of abject poverty, spread more freedom and democracy, and has created more innovation in technology and medicine than any other nation in human history. Not only that but our citizenry continually breaks world records with charitable donations, the rags to riches story is not only possible in America but not uncommon, we have the strongest purchasing power on earth, and we encompass 25% of the world’s GDP. The list goes on. However, these universal truths don’t matter.

So, what identity profile would you guess most likely fits this writer? My bet is that most readers would guess those words come from an older, white male baby-boomer. Right?

Wrong. those passages and many more wonderfully thoughtful, appreciative and incisive words were written by a young, Millennial-aged woman who wrote them while sitting in a busy “hipster” coffee shop in Nokomis, Florida. Her name is Alyssa Ahlgren, and you all should follow this link to read her entire piece. It’s the best and most encouraging thing you will read today.  Promise.

I swear this is not satire.:

You seriously just cannot make this stuff up.

In case you missed it, we have one more data point that indicates we finally, at long last, have a real Attorney General atop the nation’s Department of Justice now:  A ruling by Attorney General William Barr on Tuesday means certain migrants seeking asylum will not be released on bond but instead will stay in detention.

The NBC report linked above says that the ACLU is already working up a lawsuit to appeal the ruling – they’ll no doubt file it in a district court within the jurisdiction of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals – but no matter: This ruling is well within Barr’s authority under the law, and any adverse ruling coming out of the 9th Circuit will be reversed by the Supreme Court.

This ruling will have a significant dampening effect on the flood of illegal immigrants coming up through Mexico from Central America to make false claims of asylum, because it closes one of the biggest loopholes in the asylum process. Absent the incentive of knowing they will be released into U.S. society after a brief stay in a border detention facility, those seeking to defraud the U.S. asylum system will be far less willing to make the dangerous 1,000 mile trek to the U.S. border.

This what thinking Americans who wish to preserve our country call winning.

Thanks, Mr. Barr.

That is all.

The Democrat Party is Waging a Generational War

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Turns out, one outright commie in the race is enough, even for Democrats. – New York City Mayor Bill “Meatless Mondays” DeBlasio thinks he is cut out to be our president, oh, he really does. So, he ventured up to New Hampshire to test the waters there yesterday, and boy was that a bad idea.

DeBlasio was the lead “attraction” for an event billed as a panel discussion about healthcare.  But it appears that no one in the Granite State much cares about healthcare, or getting up close and personal with Bill DeBlasio.

In total, just 20 people turned out for the event, which is really bad, but that becomes purely awful when you realize that 14 of the 20 people were sitting on the panel, with just six hearty souls serving as the “audience” for the event. Upon learning of the sad turnout, White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway hilariously tweeted that “There are more people than this in my house every night for dinner.”  Oof.

These Democrat debates are going to be a hoot. – Don’t look now, but some guy you probably never heard of named Andrew Yang is the new Big Thing among the Millennial social media crowd that is always looking for a handout. Yang is…well, he’s uh…ummm…he’s a “tech entrepreneur,” which generally means he became fabulously wealthy creating some business that appeals to Millennials. Now, he’s basing a presidential campaign on the same concept, which in Democrat politics means that he’s proposing to give away a lot of money to Millennials.

So, a standard issue Democrat.

Yang has differentiated himself from the “forgive student loans,” “green new deal,” and “medicare for all” crowd by proposing something even more craven, what he calls a “Freedom Dividend” that simply gives $1,000 per month to … wait for it…EVERYBODY. Yes, that’s right: He’s just going to have the federal government write a check for a grand to 335 million Americans each month. For those interested in arithmetic, that comes to $335 billion each month, right at $4 TRILLION every year for a government that’s already running a trillion dollar budget deficit.

I swear I don’t make this stuff up.  Who could?

When asked how he would pay for this latest Democrat money grab, Yang offers only a false analogy with Alaska: “What they are doing with oil money in Alaska, we can do for all of us around the country with advancing technology.”

Well, here’s what they do in Alaska: The Alaska government decades ago dedicated part of the money it collects from taxes and royalties from the state’s massive oil production (second in the U.S. only to Texas) and distributes an annual dividend to the state’s small number of citizens from the balance. But this is not a budget-busting handout – Alaska is able to do this only because it runs a significant budget SURPLUS almost every year thanks to its oil and gas industry. Indeed, the state’s constitution requires the budget to be balanced each year, unlike the federal government.

The amount of this annual payment varies with the health of the oil industry, which determines how much the state is able to collect in taxes and royalties. During the depths of the oil price bust a few years ago, the state had to suspend the dividend for one year because paying it out would have thrown its budget into a deficit situation.

Being a standard-issue Democrat, Yang’s proposal makes no such consideration. Other than his vague reference to somehow funding it with “advancing technology” – an idiotic message intended purely to deceive idiots – Yang never even mentions funding it within some budgetary constraint.

Like the dimwit Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez with her “Green New Deal” and Bernie Sanders with his “Medicare for All”, Yang’s plan is to simply have the Federal Reserve print the money every month and hand it out to everyone. The inevitable result of such a program would be a rapid devaluation of the currency and massive inflation, meaning that all you Baby Boomers who spent the last several decades carefully saving money and planning a modest retirement based on the expectations of semi-responsible government and fairly stable economy can all go back to work, presumably as greeters at all the rapidly-disappearing Wal-Mart stores.

A word of warning: Amazon does not need nor hire greeters.

Make no mistake about this: What the Democrat Party is engaged in right now, today, is an organized, conscious, generational war that pits Millennials vs. the Baby Boom generation. That Party has in recent years made the conscious decision to toss organized labor overboard in favor of illegal aliens, and tossed Jews overboard in favor of Islamists, based on the calculation of which group might bring them more future votes. The Democrats right now are in the process of tossing Baby Boomers and even Gen-Xers over the side in favor a larger and younger future voting bloc.

This is just the latest example of the reality that the Democrat Party’s overriding motivation is not to do what is best for all Americans, but the acquisition and maintenance of political power.

Andrew Yang is just the latest manifestation of this intentional political strategy by the Democrats, and it’s working for him. His event in San Francisco last Friday drew a crowd of 3,000, which is 2,994 more than Bill DeBlasio could come up with in New Hampshire, and 1,000 more than Irish Bob O’Rourke could attract to his competing border rally with President Trump in El Paso last month. In the past month alone, the San Francisco Chronicle reports that Yang raised $350,000 from 66,000 donors, which is enough to qualify him to participate in the Democrats’ upcoming first debate in June.

That debate is going to be little more than a competition to see which candidate can promise to print and throw away the most money America does not have on issues that Millennials care about. Because the Democrat Party is waging a generational war here, and everyone over the age of 40 is the enemy.

Wake up, people – this is deadly serious stuff.

That is all.

Trump is a Master of the Twitter Art Form

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Which “indigenous” people would those be, Senator? – Kirsten Gillibrand, who actually is running for president in 2020 even though pretty much no one but the fawning press appears to be aware of it, agreed with a leftist activist yesterday that a border wall is “absurd” because it “cuts off so many indigenous people.”

Which “indigenous” people would those be, I wonder? It certainly wouldn’t be the tens of thousands of mostly-male, military-age “asylum seekers” from Central and South America who now form the great preponderance of those illegally crossing our border with Mexico. Nor would it be most Mexican citizens, the vast majority of whom have zero ancestral claim of being a “native” of Texas, or any other southern state, although there are Mexican citizens who appear to have legitimate claims to ancestral lands in the U.S. today.

Could the Senator have been talking about the Karankawa people, a band of rather tall early Americans who inhabited the southern Texas gulf coast when the Spaniards first arrived in the 16th century? Probably not, given that these folks are widely believed to now be extinct.

To be fair, Gillibrand might possibly have been referring to the Tohono O’odham, who claim to have “resided in what is now southern and central Arizona and northern Mexico since time immemorial.” That claim may or may not be true, because there are no real records that would prove it, but it has been formally recognized by the U.S. government, which recognizes a “nation” that straddles 62 miles of the border with Mexico in Pima County, AZ. Maybe that’s who Gillibrand was talking about.

Or maybe, just maybe, she doesn’t have the slightest clue who she’s talking about, and she was simply reciting a talking point that had been written by someone else, a politically-correct platitude designed to show sympathy with some group of people to whom she hopes to appeal with her pandering. Yeah, that’s the odds-on favorite, since that’s what Democrat politicians do for a living.

*sigh*

I was going to write about other stuff, but this just happened while I was compiling this piece:

So much truth in that little 280 character message. And so much greatness.  Never stop tweeting, Mr. President.  Please never stop.

In all seriousness, I used to cringe at many of President Trump’s tweets. Some were unseemly, beneath the office of the presidency, I’d think, because my frame of reference has always been what would my political hero, Ronald Reagan, do, and he’d never do that. I mean, for God’s sake, at least have someone proofread the damn things so nothing’s misspelled, right? I’ve never taken a poll, but I’d imagine millions of fellow conservative thinkers in this country felt the same way for the same reason.

But at some point in early 2016 I realized that, as much as some of these little messages bugged me, they absolutely drive leftists and people in the fake news media nuts. Even better, they strike like Mike Tyson blows on the tiny brains of the whole #NeverTrump contingent, as all the Bill Kristols and David French go apoplectic over every omitted comma.

The reality is that Twitter remains the President’s most effective outlet for communicating over the heads of the fake news media. And even though they are by necessity brief, most of them convey humor and a variety of distinct thought processes.

The message above is hilarious, at least if you aren’t a fake journalist, mindless progressive or #NeverTrump nitwit. But think about the thoughts it conveys.

First, there are several shots at the fake news media, and its constant attacks on the President. The press has “never been more dishonest,” “no basis in fact,” “never even call…for verification.” Think about why these particular thoughts are at the top of Mr. Trump’s mind this morning. Might it be the fact that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas chose yesterday to call for the Court to reconsider the current construct of libel laws as they apply to public figures, specifically its 1964 ruling in New York Times v. Sullivan that made it virtually impossible for public figures to prove libel against a media outlet?

Yeah, it might be that.

Then there’s “Sadly, I kept many of them in business.” Which is unquestionably true. There are two reasons why, for example, both CNN and MSNBC have become little other than 24-hour Trump-bashing garbage receptacles: 1) because the fake journalists who work there have been given complete license to express their personal biases in every report they file, and 2) because Trump drives ratings. Before Trump came along, MSNBC was a pathetic also-ran in the nightly cable news ratings race. Now there are days when that channel actually challenges Fox News for the most viewers in certain times slots.

And finally, this magnificent tweet ends with the hilarious troll: “In six years, they all go BUST!” I could imagine heads exploding not only at the CNN and MSNBC headquarters, but in all the Democrat campaign offices as well. That seven-word sentence conveys not only the President’s knowledge that the fake media outlets rely on attacking him to drive ratings and readership, but also his confidence that the two-dozen or so Democrats who are lining up to run against him in 2020 are competing for the honor of being the next Democrat loooooooooooser.

Basically, when analyzing Trump’s tweets, we should act like we are on a visit to the Museum of Modern Art, which I love. That tweet – and so many of his others – is a work of art, if you just take a moment to analyze it and appreciate its beauty. Someone should transfer it to canvas, frame it, and hang it in a major gallery, alongside about 10,000 other of this President’s Twitter masterpieces.

Here’s to another 6 years of fun!

That is all.

The Week in Review: Anti-Semite Dems, High Treason and Jussie Smollett

The Campaign Update Week in Review
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

The Week in Review, courtesy of the @GDBlackmon Twitter Feed…

James Woods started the week out with a tribute to the Democrats’ “Green New Deal,” and things only got smellier from there:

If you aren’t following @mad_liberals on Twitter, you’re missing out on a ton of fun:

That time Minnesota Cong. Ilhan Omar apologized for being a raging anti-Semite, but really didn’t apologize at all:

If only we had an education system that actually educated anyone…:

Hey, I had no idea so many Virginia Democrats went to Rice University back in the day!:

Summing up the “competing” rallies between the POTUS and a loser in a senate race out in El Paso Monday night.:

The perfect endorsement for today’s Democrat Party.:

Why not? All the other communists are doing it.:

Kamala Harris is slowly morphing into Hillary Clinton before our very eyes. No wonder she’s become CNN’s chosen child.:

In actual real news from Tuesday…:

The inevitable outcome of the Democrats’ war on masculinity.:

Here I put college students’ current infatuation with AOC into proper historical context.:

Well, God Bless Texas, then.:

Speaking of Texas and energy…:

Seriously, is there any true thing Alexandria Ocasio Cortez actually does know? It is truly stunning that a human being can hold a college degree and be so breathtakingly ignorant.:

High treason news broke out all over the place on Thursday, and your fake news media scrambled to portray it as just a bunch of patriotic FBI guys doing their best to protect the nation from the evil Orange Man. Because of course they did. *sigh*:

Speaking of faking the news, the folks at Politico seem to be ramping up their efforts in that competition in recent weeks.:

Then this happened…:

…and the nitwit who led the effort opposing 25,000 new jobs and tens of billions in annual economic impact celebrated, because what else would a raging ignoramus do?:

As Jussie Smollett’s obvious hoax began officially falling apart, Chuck Ross accurately predicted the way all the fake journalists who did everything they could to promote the effort to smear every Trump supporter in the nation would respond.:

This explains how the Enemy Within, Ilhan Omar, got her seat in congress.:

Quick! Somebody load a chopper with food and get it up there!:

Why, it almost seems as if the fake news media is trying to mislead the public on Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s true health status. Go figure.:

From our Some Things Never Change file…:

Enemies of the people, plain and simple.

That is all.

Today’s Campaign Update – The Week in Review

Today’s Campaign Update – The Week in Review

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

This week, we introduce a new feature at the Campaign Update – The Week in Review.

Ok, actually we introduced this last Friday evening, but failed to take the time and space to point it out.  We’re going to plan to post one of these every Saturday afternoon at least through the end of this year’s mid-term election campaign, at which point the plan is to assess their utility (and readership level) and decide whether they should be continued.

In putting these Campaign Updates together every morning, it often becomes impossible to adequately capture all the big things that are taking place related to our national politics.  Every day has multiple news cycles, as the leftwingers in our fake news media and the Democrat Party become increasingly panicked about their prayed-for “Blue Wave” failing to materialize and the growing reality that Robert Mueller is systematically taking the steps necessary to wind down his fruitless “investigation.”

We can only expect the pace of fakenewsery to speed up even more during the 8 weeks remaining until Election Day, meaning that, in order to keep everyone updated on the campaign, the Campaign Update must work a little overtime.

The plan here is to summarize the week’s major events in bullet point format, heaping as many insults and pithy comments upon all the snowflakes, SJWs, fake newsers and other creatures on the political left as we can think to include.  Links to relevant stories will, as always, be included where relevant and useful.

So here we go with the Campaign Update Week in Review, Episode 2.

This was the week that all the following happened:

  • Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, a shameless SJW himself, admitted that his “conservative employees “don’t feel safe to express their opinions” while in the Twitter corporate workplace.  Man, what do you think tipped him off?
  • Meanwhile, over at Google, tapes of a leadership team meeting that took place shortly after the 2016 election revealed that, contrary to their pious claims of impartiality, the social media behemoth does indeed do everything it can to distort its search results in favor of liberals.  Very predictably, none of the TV networks, nor CNN or the NYTimes or Washington Post devoted any time or space to covering this major story.  Go figure.
  • The Washington Post told us that President Donald Trump is “complicit” in the creation of Hurricane Florence because he doesn’t spout the dogma of the religion of Climate Change, but oddly gave him no credit at all for the hurricane’s being downgraded from a Cat 4 storm to a Cat 1 as it approached the Eastern Seaboard.  Odd.
  • The fake news media’s coverage of the leadup to and destruction caused by Florence was every bit as fake as one would have expected, as the fake journalists did everything they could think of to use the storm to try to damage President Trump and any other random Republican who got in the way.  So tiresome.
  • We learned that RINO Senator Ben Sasse “thinks about leaving the Republican Party” every morning.  So go already.
  • President Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was restored over last weekend, and has, as of this writing, remained unmolested by enraged social justice warriors a full week later.  Amazing.
  • Speaking of stories the mainstream fake news media couldn’t be bothered to spend a second reporting, a Republican candidate for congress out in California was stabbed by a lunatic supporter of his Democrat rival, incumbent congressman Eric Swalwell, who I remain convinced played Otter in the 1978 film “Animal House.”  When Swalwell was interviewed on CNN the very next day, he was not asked a single question about the stabbing by the fake news hack doing the interview.  *sigh*
  • Les Moonves got his sorry butt “MeToo’d” out of his job as CEO of CBS.  The management at CBS was so angry at all the bad PR Moonves brought the organization that they sent him packing with a severance deal totaling only about $100 million.  Not kidding.
  • San Fran Nan said she agrees that, where the Democrats are concerned, “it’s time for new blood and we should move on.”  That’s the good part.  But in her next breath, she promised to continuing clinging to power so long as Donald Trump is President: “to have no woman at the table and to have the Affordable Care Act at risk, I said, ‘As long as he’s here, I’m here.”  Oh, goody.
  • Paul Manafort “flipped” in order to get a plea deal from Bob Mueller, but it’s an open question whether his flipping is any sort of bad news for President Trump or just for Tony Podesta, with whom Manafort partnered to lobby for some Ukrainian clients during the Obama Administration.  Given that all the charges that Mueller had brought against Manafort were from that long ago period of time, the latter seems most likely.
  • Political fabulist Bob Woodward’s new book trashing President Trump immediately topped all the best-seller lists, but it turned out that possibly the most damaging allegation in it relates not to the President, but to Obama’s CIA Director, the execrable John Brennan.  Oh, my.
  • Corrupt New York Mayor Andrew Cuomo sent the eternally irritating Marxist Cynthia Nixon packing, and nobody really cared.
  • The New York Times tried to smear Nikki Haley and it backfired immensely, proving that sometimes justice still does prevail in this country.
  • Late in the week, despicable California Senator Dianne Feinstein pulled a last minute stunt to try to derail the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, but when even the fakenewsers at the Washington Post were ridiculing the highly-predictable tactic, it quickly became obvious that it won’t work.

With the final Senate floor vote not scheduled to take place until September 29, though, no one should blithely assume that Feinstein and her fellow depraved Democrats are finished trying to slander the nominee.  They probably have several more arrows in that Luciferian quiver they drag around with them.

Stay tuned.

That is all.

The New York Times Proves the Deep State is Alive and Well (Oops)

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

You know it’s bound to happen. – Hey, anyone know when Netflix will have the first 3 seasons of John McCain’s Funeral uploaded for binge watching?  Asking for a friend…

Your fake news media in action! – The New York Times last week:  Ran a piece contending that the Deep State is just an alt-right “conspiracy theory.”

The New York Times this week:  Ran an anonymous op/ed, supposedly written by a “senior administration official,” who says that he is part of a cabal of government employees embedded in the executive branch working to undermine the Trump presidency.

ummmmm…yeah, that’s the definition of the term “Deep State,” guys and gals.

So, let’s do some Q&A related to this:

Q:  Has the NYTimes ever pulled a stunt like this in an effort to undermine any other president?

A:  No.  Well, not in modern times, anyway.  Who knows what they might have done the last time our country went through a round of yellow journalism like the one we’re currently experiencing, back around the turn of the 19th century?

Q: Would the NYTimes have run such a piece from a Deep State official embedded in the Obama Administration?

A: You’re kidding, right?  Seriously, this is a joke?  No?  Look, if anyone doing this to Obama had identified himself to the editorial board of the NYTimes, the Times would have publicly outed him immediately and referred his case to the U.S. Attorneys at the Southern District of New York.

Q: How “Senior” is this official?

A: Good question.  There are more than 5,000 political appointees in the executive branch of government, and many times more than that SES (Senior Executive Service) level career bureaucrats at the GS-13 level or above.  Given how loosey-goosey the fakenewsers at the Times play with words these days (I laughed out loud when someone on Twitter tried to claim they followed “rules” on such things last night), it could be any one of these tens of thousands of people.  The chances that this is someone truly “senior”, i.e., a cabinet-level official or a direct report, are extremely low.  It’s far more likely that this person some associate assistant deputy to the associate deputy assistant to the director of some obscure bureau.

Bottom line:  This person could be anybody, or, given that the piece was obviously written by a professional writer, it could also be something the Times made up out of whole cloth.  It might well have been written by the Times’ resident Clinton hack Maggie Haberman or any number of other ethics-devoid fakenewsers employed by the fake newspaper.

Or hey, it might be the work of Bob Woodward, who is extremely gifted at spinning yarns.  We can eliminate ex-FBI Director James Comey, because the piece doesn’t read like something penned by a teenage drama queen, and Hillary Clinton, since it is not filled with myriad excuses about why she lost the 2016 election.

Other than that, it could be almost anyone.  At the end of the day, who cares?  This is just the 1,001st effort by the fake news media to dummy up something that is “the beginning of the end for Donald Trump.”  A week from today, no one will remember it happened.

Meanwhile, up under the Big Top on Capitol Hill… – So damn much happened yesterday at various hearings on the Hill that it’s hard to know where to start:

  • The CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, testifed before a House committee, and did his best imitation of Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, answering pretty much no questions honestly, and repeatedly using dodges like “we must do better,” “it was a glitch in our algorithm,” and the always handy “I’ll look into that and get back to you.  Note to Congress:  He isn’t going to get back to you.
  • Facebook’s President Sheryl Sandberg also testified at the same hearing, and employed the same tactics.  In direct contrast to Zuckerberg, who looked spookily like a poorly-programmed robot at his own hearing, Ms. Sandberg at least projected the appearance of being a real human being.  Progress.
  • When a right-wing reporter named Laura Loomer tried to disrupt the hearing, shouting complaints about being shadow-banned and suspended on Twitter, Missouri Republican Billy Long, a professional auctioneer by trade, drowned her out by shouting rapid-fire auctioneer stuff into his microphone as she was being escorted out of the room by security.
  • Someone needs to let Rep. Long into the Senate Judiciary Committee room and give him a mic.  The pre-planned constant disruptions by paid “protesters” continued during the second day of hearings over Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court. Some of the disruptions came from the same people who had been “arrested” for doing the same thing on Tuesday.
  • By late morning, even some of the Democrats on the committee, realizing that it wasn’t doing them any good, appeared to be getting tired of the nonsense.  Their tiredness showed in their questioning of the nominee, which was painfully scripted, rote and straight out the highly-predictable Democrat playbook.
  • While the dreary proceedings were taking place inside the hearing room, outside the room lurked radio talk show host Alex Jones, who was also very predictably pulling all sorts of crazy stuff.  At one point, Jones confronted Senator Marco Rubio, calling him a “snake” and a “frat-boy” and accusing him – incorrectly – of wanting to “beat me up.”  Rubio responded by telling Jones “I don’t know who you are,” which, whether true or not, Jones obviously took as an insult.  Then, in Rubio’s next breath, he said “I don’t really go on your website,” indicating he does know who Jones is after all.  So confusing.

Incidentally, in case you’re wondering what happens to these protesters when they’re “arrested,” here you go:  They are taken to a nearby police station, booked, assessed a fine of $50, and released.  That’s it.

At the end of the day, what it all added up to was the Democrats getting exactly what they wanted:  Capitol Hill was your basic three-ring circus.  Expect more of the same today.

Just another day in three-ring circus America.

That is all.

While the Fake News Media Focuses on Flag Etiquette, Trump Keeps Winning

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

But…but…but…all the “smart” people at CNN and the NYTimes assured me this could not happen. – When President Donald Trump (I never tire of typing those three words) announced on Monday that his administration had reached a new trade agreement with Mexico that would replace NAFTA, he didn’t leave the accurate reporting of it to the whims of the fake news media.  Knowing that if he just made a statement about his final call with Mexico’s President Enrique Pena Nieto to seal the deal, he would soon be facing anonymously-sourced fake news stories from CNN and the New York Times claiming that he insulted Mr. Nieto or his wife, or perhaps his dog, the President chose a different approach:  He simply invited the White House press corps into the Oval Office to listen to his call with Nieto live, as it took place.

Thus, fake news averted, for the most part, although fake news outlets like Reuters managed to report on the deal while leaving out mention of the most key parts of it, such as the new requirement that manufacturers of automobiles and other hard products in Mexico give their workers collective bargaining rights for the first time.  Another critical provision, that 45% of auto parts made in Mexico must be made by workers earning at least $16 per hour, also received short shrift from the fakest fake news outlets like CNN and the Times.

These toady outlets for the Democrat Party are loath to accurately report on these aspects of the new deal since they represent gigantic wins for America’s blue collar workers, workers who were just a few years ago a major cog in the Democrat Party’s voter base.  Under this new agreement, those workers will no longer have to compete with Mexican workers making $1 per hour in order to hold onto their jobs.

Interestingly, as I type this piece this morning, Fox News is airing a clip of then-candidate Barack Hussein Obama, in a Democrat primary debate on August 7, 2007, advocating for exactly the reforms to NAFTA that are contained in this new agreement, in order to “protect American workers.”  Thus does Donald Trump not only keep his own campaign promises, he keeps the promises made – and broken – by America’s Biggest Mistake.

WINNING WINNING WINNING WINNING WINNING WINNING. – The markets kind of liked the news of the agreement with Mexico.  The NASDAQ went berserk, closing above the 8,000 mark for the first time ever.  The S&P 500 also closed at a record high of 2,896, while the Dow Jones Industrial average gained 259 points to close above 26,000 for the first time since February 1.

Democrats and fake journalists all across America fell into fits of depression at this happy news for everyone else.

This is Donald Trump, preparing to make like Teddy Roosevelt. – A few weeks ago, the Campaign Update focused on how President Trump might conduct a new strategy for his second two years in office should the Democrats gain control of one or both houses of congress in the upcoming midterm elections.  The piece, titled “Trump’s Post-Midterm Move:  Make Like Teddy Roosevelt”, posited that a Donald Trump faced with a hostile congress that would stonewall any new legislation might decide to focus on using the powers of his office and regulatory agencies to rein in the abuses of social media giants like Facebook, Twitter and Google, which are without question today’s version of the industrial “trusts” that Mr. Roosevelt faced down and broke up at the turn of the 20th century.

This wasn’t just mere speculation on my part:  It’s a well-educated guess based on the President’s past statements and demeanor in office thus far.  This morning, Mr. Trump gave us a preview of potential coming attractions via his Twitter feed:

Over the past couple of weeks, the President has also fired similar shots across the bows of Facebook and Twitter.  As the Campaign Update has pointed out many times over the past 20 months, Mr. Trump doesn’t just burp these tweets out between sips of Diet Coke for no reason.  Every tweet he sends is sent for a tactical purpose, and many turn out to be stage-setters for actions he plans to take.

The powers of the presidency, when focused by an extremely strong personality like Donald Trump, can be a very daunting opponent for even the most gigantic corporation to face off with.  Standard Oil learned this lesson the hard way about 115 years ago.  The creeps who have set themselves up as the arbiters of free speech and restricters of the public’s right to know at these social media giants might want to start paying attention to the messages they are being sent by this particular President and start adjusting their practices accordingly.

But they won’t.

Just another day in fake news media and abusive social media America.

That is all.

Trump’s Post-Mid-Term Move: Make Like Teddy Roosevelt

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Democrats have now taken us back to the Klan days of the early 1960s – A gang of white Democrats assaulted a black woman in a cafe in Philadelphia Monday morning as she was attempting to have some breakfast.  Sound familiar?  No, I didn’t make that up – the black woman’s name is Candace Owens, a conservative activist who helped to start the rising #walkaway movement on Twitter.  The white Democrats were a bunch of Antifa thugs who found out where Ms. Owens was attempting to dine and literally ran her out of the place, as you can see below:

Had the thugs been wearing the traditional white robes and pointed hoods, the scene would have looked just like something out of “Mississippi Burning.”  Way to go, Democrats!  Aren’t you all so proud at what you have created?

Donald Trump, trust buster? – So, imagine this scenario if you will:  Executives from ExxonMobil, BP, Shell, Chevron and Total all get together in a room talk about implementing the exact same gasoline price increase on the following day.

Just another day in Democrats hate this country America.

That is all.

The Democrat Party Now Actively Supports Bigotry and Mob Rule

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

[Note:  The original text of this piece incorrectly identified Lexington as “suburb of Washington, DC.”  That’s what I get for relying on my memory for geographic accuracy.]

Leftists hate you and want to deprive you of your rights, Part 10,983. – The big news on Saturday came with the revelation that the owner of the Red Hen, a small, trendy restaurant located in the Northern Virginia town of Lexington, kicked White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, her small children and five other members of her family out as they attempted to have dinner there on Friday evening.

The establishment’s owner, one Stephanie Wilkinson – who also apparently owns several other businesses in the small town – claims she received a call around 8:00 p.m. from her employees, notifying her that Sanders and her family were, gasp!, in the restaurant and expecting to plop down about $700 for dinner.  Noting that her employees were in a state of emergency snowflake triggering over having to serve a deputy of the President of the United States of America (because of course they were), Wilkinson donned her Birkenstocks, peasant dress and pussy hat (ok, just guessing there, but it seems likely) and rushed over to demand the paying, polite customers leave her greasy spoon immediately.

All parties present acknowledge that the Sanders party politely left.  Sanders even offered to pay for the privilege of being booted out of the place, but Wilkinson, being the raging nitwit she is, didn’t even want her money.  That would have been the end of it, but one of the spoiled, Millennial employees felt the need to post about it all on Facebook (because of course he did), which then produced an uproar on Twitter (because of course it did).

Sanders, in an effort to clear up all the lies being spread about the situation on social media, then decided to issue a tweet of her own about it:

This factual message set off another round of social media outrage, as leftist snowflakes became triggered all over again (because of course it did).

The fake news media is treating this situation as if it was just something that took place on the spur of the moment (because of course they are), that Wilkinson had no idea Sanders and her family were coming to dine in their restaurant and was just responding to the wishes of her triggered employees.

But let’s think about that:  The truth is that that Sanders had made the reservation well in advance.  The truth is that Ms. Wilkinson and her husband are leftist activists (because of course they are), as demonstrated conclusively in this photo:

This woman’s such a radical nitwit she even puts a pussy hat on her kid.  I’m sure he never gets bullied at school.

And then there’s this quote from her in the Washington Post:

“I’m not a huge fan of confrontation. I have a business, and I want the business to thrive. This feels like the moment in our democracy when people have to make uncomfortable actions and decisions to uphold their morals,” she told The Post.

Well, gosh, what better way to make someone feel uncomfortable than to see their name on your reservation list and hatch a plan to seat her party, get the drinks served and appetizer order taken, and then humiliate her, her young children and the five other people she’s with by kicking them out?

This of course comes just a few days after Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was run out of MXDC, a really lousy imitation Mexican food place in Washington, by a bunch of activists who had been alerted to Nielsen’s presence by the restaurant’s staff.

As with everything else the Democrat Party and fake news media do these days, this is all stuff that is straight out of the Saul Alinsky playbook:  You take an issue, personalize it by demonizing selected targets and make it increasingly difficult for them to do their jobs or live their lives.  Very predictably, fake news media personalities and Democrat politicians praised the discriminatory actions against both women on social media, CNN and MSNBC.

Again, as with everything else the Democrats and fake media do, none of this is organic.  None of it just happens on the spur of the moment.  This tactic of humiliating Trump Administration personnel in public is obviously part of a well-coordinated plan, and it will soon spread to efforts to discriminate against anyone who publicly identifies as a Trump supporter if there are no visible consequences for the Red Hen or MXDC.

Conservatives have always shied away from engaging in boycotts or public demonstrations that attempt to shut such bigoted businesses down for two reasons:  1) most conservatives actually work for a living and don’t have the free time to go hang out on a street corner chanting stupid slogans and holding cardboard signs, and 2) conservatives know that any public gathering of more than 10 people whose politics are to the right of Fidel Castro will be spun by the fake news media as a gathering of Nazis.

But in today’s digital, Internet world, there are many other ways to negatively impact a business, especially those in the service industries.  Already, Red Hen’s website was crashed yesterday by a flood of people making fake reservations, as were their pages on Yelp and OpenTable by floods of people trying to post fake reviews.  Some enterprising hacker even managed to hack the business’s online menu with a note that dining there causes erectile dysfunction.

But back to the point, which is that the Democrats and their activist supporters in and out of the fake news media are now actively supporting discrimination and mob rule.  If you think otherwise, you just need to pay closer attention to what’s really happening in our society.

Way back in the early 1990s I wrote a newspaper column in which I discussed the increasingly obvious reality that Democrats’ ultimate goal was to make it illegal to be a Republican.  Many readers back then scoffed at that notion.  Those who are still among the living are probably not scoffing this morning.

Just another day in leftists hate you and want to take your freedoms away America.

That is all.

Melania Trump trolls the media, media too dumb to figure it out.  Film at 11.

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

It’s just like that trash compactor scene from Star Wars, only R2D2 won’t be saving him. – The walls of the justice system closed in a little more on FBI Super Duper Agent and Aspiring Latin Lover Peter Strzok, as Attorney General let slip during an interview that hey, his security clearance has been revoked.  Note for the faint of heart:  This film does not have a happy ending for the former Texting Titan of the FBI.

Gosh, why would that be?  So, so hard to understand.  Oh, wait…  – A new poll from YouGov.org finds that public favorable view of the Federal Bureau of (fake) Investigation has dropped by 11 percentage points since February, as the details of the agency’s massive wrongdoings throughout 2016 and 2017 have made their way to light despite the best efforts of our fake national news media to keep them hidden.  The most disgusting part of the poll is that the FBfI’s most favorable ratings come from Democrats, who spent the 100 years prior to the inauguration of Donald Trump bashing the agency.  But hey, now they know it was nothing more than a tool of the Democrat Party trying to fix the election for the Pantsuit Princess, they love it.  It would be hilarious if it weren’t so sad for the country.

Speaking of polls, this whole fake border crisis isn’t working out too well for the fake news media and their Democrat wards.   A new poll from Rasmussen finds that fully 54 percent of likely voters blame the parents of these children for their situation (imagine that) and only 35 percent blame the government.  No doubt heads were exploding all over the headquarters of the DNC, CNN, the NYTimes and the WaPo after that poll came out.  This is not how this was supposed to go for them.  Not at all – not even close.

Democrats in Action! – Democrats on Tuesday:  “End family separation! End family separation!”

[Trump ends family separation]

Democrats on Thursday: “End family reunification! End family reunification!”

*sigh*

Melania Trump trolls the media, media too dumb to figure it out.  Film at 11. – The First Lady traveled to McAllen on Thursday to visit one of the facilities that is at the center of the latest episode of fake liberal outrage.  As she boarded Air Force One, all the fake reporters gasped in unison as they noted she was sporting a $39 jacket, on the back of which was the slogan “I don’t really care, do U?”

As if it were all a coordinated effort (note: it is), the entirety of the nation’s fake news media went immediately into deflection mode, ignoring the First Lady’s long, detailed visit with the children in the McAllen facility and her discussions with those who care for them, focusing instead on her fashion choice.  What does it mean?  Is she making a statement towards these poor, poor children?  Maybe she’s mad a her evil husband – that must be it!

All the social justice warriors on Twitter also went into an immediate rage, because, well, of course they did.  When one asked me “can you imagine what would be happening if Michelle Obama wore that jacket?” I responded “no, because I can’t imagine Michelle Obama ever putting on a $39 jacket.”

Several hours after the First Lady returned to Washington, we of course found out it was all an effort to tweak the fake news media’s collective nose, as the President issued the following tweet:

Hilarious.  Obviously, the White House strategy on this fake border issue is not just to let the Democrats and their fake media guardians wail away and reveal they don’t really give a damn about any kids, but to help them along by trolling them as the First Lady did yesterday.  While some might characterize that as callous, it is in fact entirely appropriate to the situation.

Think about it:  The outrage is false.  Pretty much every allegation leveled at the Trump Administration has been shown to be false.  Most of the images and video shown by the fake news media has been revealed to be from the Obama years, during which the media/Democrats never uttered a peep.  Even the little girl on the cover of Time Magazine has been shown to be a fake – she was never at any time separated from her mother.

The obvious next tactic the media/Democrats will be deploying today will be allegations that the children are somehow being “abused” by those caring for them.  By Monday, those allegations will also be proved to have been false, because this is what our fake news media does.

Given all of that, why should the Administration do anything other than taunt their opposition, and troll them into revealing their true nature and goals?  When literally everything about the opposition is fake, the opposition does not deserve a serious response.

And hey, as I write this piece this morning, President Trump has issued the following tweets:

Ok, I can stop now.

Just another day in now even Melania’s trolling the fake news media America.

That is all.
