The DC/New York Media Establishment is Scared to Death of Ron DeSantis and Ted Cruz

How do you know when the corrupt news media is scared to death of any Republican politician? – When they start making up fake scandals about him or her.

That is of course what the corrupt hacks serving as Democrat toadies throughout our despicable national media establishment have been doing to Ron DeSantis since he became Governor of the Sunshine State in January 2019. None of them have stuck because he’s a clean guy running a clean administration, but that still does not stop the fake reporters and editors in the DC/New York media Democrat propaganda arm from trying.

This week saw yet another fake scandal materialize in the media’s never-ending efforts to damage the guy they obviously consider to be among the strongest likely contenders for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination. Check out this tweet from the depraved hacks who run MSNBC:

Here’s a little snippet from that insane story:

Florida’s governor was slow to respond to the pandemic and his Covid-19 vaccine distribution plan has been marked by chaos, but critics say he’s been quick to recognize the political gold in those precious doses.

Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, ignored federal guidelines and prioritized getting senior citizens — one of Florida’s most potent voting blocs — vaccinated first.

When Holocaust survivors and Cuban survivors of the Bay of Pigs debacle — revered members of two other key Florida voting blocs — got their first shots, DeSantis made sure he was there for the news conferences.

And now the governor stands accused of using the Covid-19 vaccine to reward powerful political supporters and developers by setting up pop-up vaccination sites in planned communities they developed and where GOP voters predominate.

Responding to recent criticism from both Republican and Democrats in Manatee and Charlotte counties, both south of Tampa, where one site was set up last week and another began dispensing doses on Wednesday, DeSantis said local lawmakers should be more grateful

“I’ll tell you what, I wouldn’t be complaining,” the governor said. “I’d be thankful that we are able to do it.”

[End]

So, understand what’s happening here: Gov. DeSantis is being smeared for the sin of refusing to prioritize vaccines based on the race/gender/LGBTQ priorities preferred by the Democrats and the media. Instead, he is prioritizing elderly Americans, regardless of race/gender/sexual orientation or BLM stamp of approval to be the first to receive the shots.

Why? BECAUSE THEY ARE THE MOST VULNERABLE SEGMENT OF OUR POPULATION TO THE VIRAL GIFT FROM CHINA.

Honest to God, that’s what this smear is all about. If you think that’s despicable and depraved and more than a little bit demented and disgraceful, well, that’s all the proof you need to know that everyone pushing this smear in the media is in fact a Democrat operative.

Note also how the story begins with this first completely false smear: “Florida’s governor was slow to respond to the pandemic…”

DeSantis was in fact among the quickest to respond the pandemic in his state. How did he respond? By moving to protect the elderly, especially elderly residents in his state’s nursing homes and assisted living communities, so many of whom moved to Florida from New York for their retirements.

Those who moved are the lucky New Yorkers, since the Governor of that state, Andrew Cuomo, sentenced thousands of elderly nursing home patients to their deaths through his insane policy choices related to COVID.

But the media has chosen to lionize Cuomo for the past year, while at the same time endlessly harassing DeSantis, the guy who made sure his elderly residents had the very best chance of living through the pandemic, and is now making sure they are among the first to be inoculated. DeSantis’s choice to focus efforts on the most vulnerable segments of his state’s population is in fact the very reason why the Democrat media hacks hate him and continue to harass him.

Yes, that is insane. But that is what our utterly corrupt national news media does for Democrats.

For more proof of exactly how despicable the media truly is, let’s close this piece with this tweet:

That’s right: The Washington Post has now run 27 separate stories about Ted Cruz’s family vacation, but just 2 on Cuomo’s mass killings of elderly New Yorkers and his efforts to cover them up.

That’s the very definition of despicable.

That is all.

Ted Cruz Becomes This Week’s Media Shiny Object

Just another shiny object for the media to distract you with. – The first few weeks of the sock puppet Biden administration have been a disastrous time for Democrats. Among other horrific stories, the elderly, brain-addled Biden and his fellow Democrats have created the following raft of negative stories:

– More than 85,000 Americans dead of COVID;

– Tens of thousands of jobs cancelled by Biden’s first-day executive orders, at least 10,000 of which were in the oil and gas industry;

– New York Governor Andrew Cuomo responsible for the deaths of thousands of Biden’s fellow elderly citizens in his state’s nursing homes;

– Cuomo now under investigation by both the FBI and the New York Attorney General’s office;

– Biden and Anthony Fauci both ignoring actual science by c0nspiring with teacher’s unions to needlessly keep our kids out of school;

– Biden’s anti-oil and gas policies causing skyrocketing gasoline prices;

– Biden’s ramping up of the U.S. interventionist war machine;

…and on and on and on it goes.

Biden’s friends in the corrupt news media needed a shiny object to use to distract the public’s attention from all of these hugely negative stories, because that is what the media does for Democrats. On Thursday, they found their bright and shiny object in the form of Texas Senator Ted Cruz.

Senator Cruz decided to follow through on a long-planned spring break trip with his kids down to Cancun, you see. When he arrived, some fellow Americans recognized him and posted video of him on their social media accounts. Smelling a bright and shiny object in the making, corrupt fake reporters decided to pick up on the story and chastise the Senator for abandoning Texas when it was in the midst of a major winter storm that had millions of Texans struggling without electrical power in their homes.

Here’s a sampling of the idiotic stories run by the Texas and national news media:

Man, Democrat media agent Chris Hayes even managed to get in a shot at the late Rush Limbaugh while taking shots at Cruz, a real media two-fer badge of honor.

If Ted Cruz happened to be Governor of Texas, or even a member of the state’s Public Utilities Commission or holder of a seat in the Texas Legislature, this would have been an actual legitimate news story. After all, people in any of those offices have an actual role to play in what happens with the Texas power grid. Any of those folks leaving the state during this weather emergency would have deserved to be literally tarred and feathered, not just slammed by a biased media.

But a United States senator like Cruz has zero role to play in determining how electricity is delivered to the 28 million citizens of Texas and the businesses that serve them. Where he goes this week literally makes no difference to anyone else. Well, except to “news” reporters desperate to focus on something, anything other than the disastrous beginning for the China Joe Biden sock puppet presidency.

For being a good dad, Senator Cruz became this week’s shiny object, and now his kids will have to vacation in Cancun without their dad. Because that is what the corrupt news media in this country does for the Democrat party.

That is all.

Thursday News Roundup: AOC is Caught in Capitol Lies as Kerry is Caught in Climate Lies

Hey, remember how AOC has been going around claiming she “almost died” during the Capitol Riot on January 6? – Remember how she told Ted Cruz that he had “tried to have me murdered” during that riot? Remember her story just this week about how a member of the Capitol Police burst into her office and looked at her in a “threatening” manner?

Yeah, those were all lies. Just like pretty much everything else she ever says.

It turns out that the best evidence shows that AOC wasn’t even in the Capitol Building when things were going down.

From the story at JustTheNews.com:

Following Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ emotional Instagram retelling of the events of Jan. 6, in which she said she feared for her life, an analysis of the events by the RedState news website points out the New York Democrat wasn’t in the Capitol Building at the time of the riot.

“If she was in her office, she was in the Cannon Building which is nearby, but a different building,” the RedState report reads. “Many didn’t get the logistics and just assumed that she was in the Capitol building.”

South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace, who like Ocasio-Cortez has an office in the Cannon Building, adjacent to the U.S. Capitol Building, also suggested her House colleague’s account of the incident is exaggerated.

“My office is 2 doors down,” Mace tweeted. “Insurrectionists never stormed our hallway. Egregious doesn’t even begin to cover it. Is there nothing MSM won’t politicize?”

The congresswoman said Wednesday that the RedState report was “manipulative.”

“This is the latest manipulative take on the right,” she wrote on Twitter. “They are manipulating the fact that most people don’t know the layout the Capitol complex. We were all on the Capitol complex – the attack wasn’t just on the dome. The bombs Trump supporters planted surrounded our offices too.”

[End]

Note: No “Trump supporters” planted any bombs surrounding her or anyone else’s offices.

What AOC is doing in manipulating the Capitol Riot for political profit is no different than her attempt to milk the whole “Kids in cages” hoax a couple of years back. Who can forget this?:

The woman is an actor. That’s all she is. Well, that, and she’s possibly the most shameless liar to ever hold congressional office, which is saying a hell of a lot.

Funny Twitter Meme of the Day:

Image

Yes, because the French prefer to limit their orgies to no more than 75 participants:

Your Global Church of Climate Change PSA for Today – Remember, kids, the edicts issued by your betters in the globalist elite class about minimizing your carbon footprint to help prevent “climate change” apply only to you, and not your betters in the globalist elite class.

Our latest illustration of this reality comes from China Joe Biden’s new “Climate Czar”, John Kerry, who admitted yesterday that he much prefers to take his private, carbon-spewing jet to all of those global climate conferences where he receives his many awards for being so concerned about the global climate:

Holy crap. From the story at Fox News:

President Biden’s recently appointed climate czar, John Kerry, took a private jet to Iceland in 2019 to receive the Arctic Circle award for climate leadership, Fox News has learned.

Kerry defended his high-pollution ride at the time, calling it “the only choice for somebody like me who is traveling the world to win this battle” in an interview obtained by Fox News. The incident had not been previously reported in the American press.

Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, who led the Arctic Circle Roundtable, criticized Kerry for traveling to the event via private jet, Icelandic outlet RUV reported.

Kerry received the award, which took the form of an iceberg sculpture, for being “a consistent voice pressuring the American authorities to commit to tackle environmental matters,” the outlet noted.

Icelandic reporter Jóhann Bjarni Kolbeinsson confronted Kerry at the event over his choice of transportation, asking: “I understand that you came here with a private jet. Is that an environmental way to travel?”

Kerry responded by claiming that it was the only way.  “If you offset your carbon — it’s the only choice for somebody like me who is traveling the world to win this battle,” Kerry said.

“I negotiated the Paris Accords for the United States,” he added, referring to the multilateral climate agreement signed while he was secretary of state under President Obama.

[End]

Note: When Kerry talks about how he “offsets” his carbon spewing, he is no doubt referring to the buying of “carbon credits,” the globalist scam through which Al Gore has become a near-billionaire. If America had anything resembling an honest and curious news media, he would be pounded with demands by reporters to release the records of his purchase of what would have to be millions of dollars of carbon credits to offset the hundreds of flights he has taken on his own private jet.

You can be certain that no one in the U.S. media will pose that uncomfortable question to him. Because that’s what any self-respecting Nazi-style propaganda operation would do.

The election issue remains alive in Arizona. – Despite the best efforts of the Democrats and their toadies in the corrupt news media to make it all just go away, controversy over the November 3 election results remains alive in Arizona. There, stalwart Republicans in the state senate have sponsored a resolution this week holding the members of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors in contempt for refusing to comply with an audit of the county’s election results.

Maricopa County is home to Phoenix, and has been plagued by hundreds of allegations of election fraud since last November. The refusal by the Board of Supervisors to comply with a simple audit of the balloting only serves to raise suspicions, obviously. The resolution, sponsored by all 16 members of the Senate GOP majority, now subjects members of the board to arrest and jailing if they continue to refuse to comply.

From a story at JustTheNews.com:

The entire contingent of 16 Republicans in the Arizona state senate has sponsored a resolution to hold the five members of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors in contempt for not complying with subpoenas pertaining to equipment, ballots and more related to the 2020 election.

The resolution may raise the possibility of arrests. It calls for the state senate president to “take all legal action pursuant to section 41-1153, Arizona Revised Statutes, to enforce the subpoena.” That section of Arizona law states: “A witness neglecting or refusing to attend in obedience to a subpoena may be arrested by the sergeant-at-arms and brought before the senate or house upon authority of a copy of the resolution signed by the president or speaker, and countersigned by the secretary or chief clerk.”

Since the chamber’s 14 Democrats will probably not support the resolution, all 16 Republicans will need to vote for it in order for it to pass when the chamber eventually votes on it, according to the Arizona Mirror.

[End]

In Arizona, truly, the fun never ends. At least, not yet.

That is all.

Beto O’Rourke Exploring Another Likely Failure

His campaign for the senate against Ted Cruz in 2018 ended in failure.

His campaign for the Democrat Party’s presidential nomination in 2019 ended in epic, buffonish failure.

His campaign to turn Texas blue in 2020 ended in abject, hilarious failure.

So, naturally, Irish Bob “Beto” O’Rourke, the undeservedly-famous deletant offspring of a fabulously wealthy family married to an even more-fabulously wealthy wife in El Paso, Texas, is now considering mounting yet another destined-to-fail campaign in 2022.

This time, Irish Bob is exploring the possibility of running for the Texas governor’s mansion, against either incumbent Gregg Abbott – who is likely to run for re-election – or against another GOP candidate should Abbott decide to bow out after two terms in office.

Here’s an excerpt from a slavishly-fawning story at the ridiculous Houston Chronicle:

Democrat Beto O’Rourke has left no doubt that he’s weighing a run for governor next year.

“You know what, it’s something I’m going to think about,” O’Rourke said in an exclusive interview on an El Paso radio station earlier this week.

And in case anyone missed the interview, supporters of a political action committee O’Rourke started called Powered By People is circulating it on social media.

The former congressman from El Paso, who lost a close race for U.S. Senate in 2018, told KLAQ host Buzz Adams that Texas has “suffered perhaps more than any other” state during the pandemic and criticized Gov. Greg Abbott for a “complete indifference” to helping local leaders try to save lives.

“I want to make sure we have someone in the highest office in our state who’s going to make sure that all of us are OK,” the 48-year-old O’Rourke said. “And especially those communities that so often don’t get the resources or attention or the help, like El Paso.”

[End]

So, hey, looks like we’ll have Irish Bob to kick around again in 2022.  Fan girls and boys on staff at the Chronicle, the Texas Tribune, the New Yorker and Vanity Fair are no doubt already outlining their future feature stories on their punk-rocker crush.

And before anyone sends me a nasty note saying that last remark isn’t fair, let me answer in advance: Why yes, yes it is completely fair and incisively accurate, and you’re a pea-brained nitwit if you don’t agree.

Hooboy.

Sunday News Roundup: Dozen GOP Senators Will Oppose Electoral Cert and San Fran Nan Polices Pronouns

San Fran Nan goes full-on SJW. – San Fran Nan, under deep pressure from OAC and her gang of lunatic leftists, issued a new set of House rules on Saturday that in part will eliminate the use of proper pronouns that members can use to identify one another. In a sop to the transgender lobby, proper English language pronouns like “he” and “she” will be replaced with improper pronouns like “xe” and “they”.

No, I’m not making this up. From a story at Axios:

The U.S. House of Representatives is poised to rewrite its rules — swapping out male and female references like “he” and “she” for gender-neutral terms — in a diversity and inclusion push by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats that’s drawing scorn from Republicans.

Why it matters: The proposal comes as transgender and non-binary candidates are being elected around the country, progressives are gaining influence in the Democratic politics and U.S. schools and companies are adjusting policies and language to reflect society’s changing views on sexuality and gender identification.

  • The proposed changes were announced Friday ahead of two pivotal runoffs in Georgia on Jan. 5 to decide which party controls the Senate — and could stoke turnout among its supporters or opponents.
  • Members are expected to consider the package next week.

[End]

In a story at The Hill, House Rules Chair Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) is quoted as saying that “This proposal also shines a light on those struggling to get ahead in America today and ensures we remain focused on the most pressing issues facing our nation.” Yes, friends, it is now the official policy of the Democrat Party that pronouns are among the “most pressing issues facing our nation.”

Not Section 230; not getting our men and women out of myriad wars in foreign hell-holes; not a balloning debt or a fading economy or reining in out-of-control governors; the Democrat Party is focused on PRONOUNS.

Just so y’all know, my preferred pronouns are “Bubba” and “Tex.” Please be sure that you use them properly, as in “Bubba’s fixin’ to go fix that leaky sprinkler system,” or “Tex ate them enchiladas like a hog eats slop.”

Holy crap.

Fauci continues boiling the American frog. – The little menace to society was at it again on Saturday, moving the goal posts of Bill Gates’s globalist Great Reset down the field even further. This time, Fauci, in is own inimicable way, not so subtly suggests that it would be perfectly reasonable for the government to start issuing “COVID-19 vaccine passports” that would limit travel, school and attending public gathering to only those who have taken the shots, a step I had warned you about a week ago.

Gee, what a surprise.

From a story at the Daily Caller:

In an interview with Newsweek, Dr. Anthony Fauci floated the possibility that the coronavirus vaccine would be made mandatory for things like school and travel.

Dr. Fauci, the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) explained that there could be a “possibility of introducing COVID-19 vaccine passports,” as well as making the vaccine mandatory at the local level, Newsweek reported.

When asked if there was the possibility that the vaccine could be mandatory for school Fauci explained, “That is possible but that’s something that’s mandated at the state level and city level. A citywide school system might require it in some cities but not other cities. And that’s what I mean by things not being done centrally but locally.”

[End]

As always, Fauci carefully couches his fascist ambitions as mere possibilities and as mandates that would have to be placed on the population by others. But the reality is that his role in the steadily-advancing assault on individual freedoms has been that of the “expert” stalking horse, the media darling who consistently awards his seal of approval for these anti-constitutional actions in advance so that the tyrant governors and mayors can claim their brutish treatment of their citizens is supported by “science.”

Herman Goering would have absolutely worshipped Anthony Fauci.

Sen. Josh Hawley gets some company. – I’ve spent the last several days praising Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley for being the first – and until yesterday, only – GOP senator to stand up and say he will challenge congress’s January 6 effort to certify the clearly fraudulent Electoral Vote. I couldn’t help wondering out loud why normally stalwart conservatives like Ted Cruz, Tom Cotton, Rand Paul and a handful of other GOP senators weren’t standing with Hawley and his defiance of Mitch McConnell’s “go along to get along” edict on the matter.

Well, yesterday, Sen. Cruz and 10 more Republican senators decided to finally step up and be counted among those who are properly disturbed by election theft happening all around them, further demanding the conduct of a “10-day emergency audit” of the vote. But interestingly, Senators Paul and Cotton are not among this Gang of 11.

From a story at The Hill:

Eleven Senate Republicans on Saturday announced that they will vote for objections to the Electoral College results Wednesday, when Congress convenes in a joint session to formally count the vote.

GOP Sens. Ted Cruz (Texas), Ron Johnson (Wis.), James Lankford (Okla.), Steve Daines (Mont.), John Kennedy (La.), Marsha Blackburn (Tenn.) and Mike Braun (Ind.) and Sens.-elect Cynthia Lummis (Wyo.), Roger Marshall (Kan.), Bill Hagerty (Tenn.) and Tommy Tuberville (Ala.) said in a joint statement that they will vote against accepting the election results until there is a 10-day audit.

“Congress should immediately appoint an Electoral Commission, with full investigatory and fact-finding authority, to conduct an emergency 10-day audit of the election returns in the disputed states,” they said. “Once completed, individual states would evaluate the Commission’s findings and could convene a special legislative session to certify a change in their vote, if needed.

The senators didn’t say in their joint statement if they plan to object to the results from specific states, how they would divvy up those objections or if they would just vote in support of challenges to the Electoral College results if they reach the Senate.

[End]

Why Cotton or Paul are not among the now-dozen GOP senators willing to lodge a challenge is anyone’s guess, since neither has been asked or chosen to comment as far as I can tell. Regardless, you now have a dozen GOP senators and well over 100 members of the House who have figured out that the Trump support base, and thus, at least 80% of the GOP’s entire support base, is not going to be placated on this particular issue.

The fact that so many other GOP members of congress still haven’t figured that fact of life out says nothing good about the future of the Republican Party. Those folks are whistling past their own political graveyards.

That is all.

Friday News Roundup: More GOP Senators Had Better Sign Up With Josh Hawley Fast

Attention Citizens! Stay away from Times Square! You can’t be in Times Square!  If you go to Times Square on New Year’s Eve, the NYPD will arrest you! Attention Citizens! – While New York City’s little people were banned from gathering in Times Square to celebrate the ringing in of the New Year, here is what New York’s communist Democrat mayor, Bill de Blasio was doing:

Oh.

He’d have made such a wonderful Hitler general.

Meanwhile, in Portland… – Oh, hell, you can already guess what happened in the Marxist enclave of Portland, Oregon, can’t you?

It just would not have been right to celebrate the turning of the New Year without yet another BLM/Antifa riot happening in Riot City, USA, now, would it? Communist Democrat Mayor Ted Wheeler must be so pleased.

Meanwhile, in Minneapolis… – Yesterday, we told you about the police shooting of a minority man that took place Wednesday night in Minneapolis. The story hasn’t blown up as we expected it to – yet. But propagandists are hard at work trying to turn what is yet another completely justified police shooting into a riot situation.

Take a look:

Pure propaganda. Here’s what really happened, thanks to the police body cam that captured the incident:

Yes, as usual, the suspect who was killed while being arrested for outstanding felony warrants fired first. As is always the case, the best ways to avoid being killed by any police department is to a) not be a felon with outstanding arrest warrants, and b) don’t point a gun at the police who are there to arrest you.

This really is not complicated.

If you feel like Democrats go waaaaayyyyy out of their way to pick the most repugnant people possible to represent them, well, you might just be right. – Look who they’ve chosen to campaign on behalf of their two utterly repugnant senate candidates in Georgia:

I guess Chelsea Handler and Al Franken were busy that night.

Holy crap.

Wrong John Roberts, folks. Wrong John Roberts. – John Roberts, the Fox News reporter, has been getting nasty notes on Twitter because his name turns up on the flight logs for Jeffrey Epstein’s “Lolita Express” private jet, and he is none to happy about it.

So he sent out this tweet in response on Thursday:

Interestingly, Chief Justice John Roberts hasn’t felt the need to explain why his name – not the Fox News John Roberts – appears on that flight log, despite the fact that that has been public knowledge for well over a year now.

Everybody needs to get their “John Roberts” right, ok?

Republicans in the Senate had better wake up, fast. – In yesterday’s news roundup, we discussed the fact that Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley has become the one and only Republican in the Senate who has said he will stand up on January 6 and object to the certification of the clearly fraudulent Electoral College results. Meanwhile, more than 140 Republicans in the House have now said they will file a similar objection.

From a story at Townhall.com:

Cortney wrote about the lawsuit Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) filed this week against Vice President Mike Pence over the 2020 election. It basically would have granted the vice president the power to pick the electors by overturning the 1877 Electoral Count Act. There was a lot of funny business during the 2020 election. The legal front on this battle is over, however. It’s now up to what happens on the Hill on January 6. As we speak, Mike Pence has moved to dismiss Gohmert’s lawsuit, saying he’s not the proper defendant in the proceedings (via the Hill):

Vice President Pence on Thursday asked a federal judge to reject a bid by Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) and other Republicans to broaden Pence’s powers in a manner that would effectively allow him to overturn President-elect Joe Biden’s electoral win.

The lawsuit, filed earlier this week, seeks to expand Pence’s role in an upcoming Jan. 6 meeting of Congress to count states’ electoral votes and finalize Biden’s victory over President Trump.

But in a Thursday brief to Texas-based U.S. District Judge Jeremy Kernodle, a Trump appointee, Pence said he was not a proper defendant to the suit.

Also, there appear to be some 140 Republican House members ready to object to the 2020 Electoral College results. It’s gathering steam. For the Never Trump wing of the GOP, either accept the new path of just become Democrats. Many of you had done so already. It’s Trump’s party now. The right-wing populist wing has taken over, and they’re not done fighting. The mountains of allegations of voter fraud have not convinced the GOP or its base that this was a free and fair election. That’s not going away and you bet the Republican Party should make congressional investigations a 2022 midterm promise should they retake the House. I think we should just accept the fact that the next four years will be dominated by those who felt cheated on Election Day. Tens of millions of GOP voters feel the same way. And please, let’s not act like this is unprecedented. There were objections to George W. Bush’s 2004 win in the Senate.

[End]

Thus, more than 2/3rds of the GOP House caucus gets it. They understand that the Trump support base – which makes up 80-90% of the entire GOP base of support – is not ever going to accept this clearly fraudulent outcome. They understand that, if the Republican Party wants to survive intact over the coming 2-4 years, they had better raise their voices in objection to this un-American outcome at the very least.

Over in the Senate, just one Republican seems to understand what is happening here in the party’s voter base. Normally astute conservative senators like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul and Chuck Grassley and Tom Cotton and Ron Johnson, meanwhile, appear completely clueless about the coming train wreck they are about to steer their party into. (Incidentally, isn’t it disturbing how few actual “conservative” senators there really are in the GOP senate caucus today?)

Only Josh Hawley seems to have the stones to stand up an defy Mitch McConnell’s demand that they all stand down. Johnson and Grassley no doubt want to suck up to Mitch in order to preserve their key committee chairmanships, but Cruz, Paul and Cotton don’t even have that excuse.

Whether these and other senators like it or not, Donald Trump IS the Republican Party today, and that is not going to change if and when China Joe Potato Head Biden is installed in the White House via clearly fraudulent means. My sense is that Trump supporters are completely fed up with the go-along-to-get-along model that most Senate Rs love to operate under. If they think they can just go back to the rank Swampery they all practiced prior to 2017 if they go-along to get rid of the Trump presidency, they are going to be really unpleasantly surprised by the outcome.

Objecting to the Electoral College results and holding a 2-hour debate in the Senate on January 6 is the very least any Republican senator can and should be doing in order to try to preserve some semblance of party unity going forward. If Josh Hawley ends up being the only GOP senator who is willing to stand up and be counted on this question, then 2022 and 2024 are going to be real bloodbaths for the incumbent GOP senators up for re-election in those cycles.

That is all.

Wednesday News Roundup: Trump Disrupts the Swamp With Veto Threat, Pardons

[After a week in the dumpster with technical issues, DBDailyUpdate is back up and running this morning thanks to the sterling efforts of an excellent firm that provides an array of fully-managed hosting services. I have retained their services going forward, so the days of me struggling to try to get these problems figured out myself are over.

I had previously considered just taking the rest of this terrible year off, but let’s face it: There’s just too much going on for that to really happen. So, enough small talk: Let’s go to the Wednesday News Roundup.]

Dear Congress: Donald Trump is still your President. Deal with it. – At least, he’s still the President until January 20th, a fact that is causing a great deal of consternation among the Democans and Republicrats in congress this morning, after the President released a 4-minute video clip promising to veto the atrocity of a $900 billion COVID spending bill they sent over to his desk on Tuesday.

That clip and a full transcript of the President’s remarks are contained in a separate post this morning. Suffice it to say, congressional Democans and Republicrats are not real happy this morning as they awake to the reality that their own planned two-week vacations are being interrupted by a POTUS who won’t just sign off on their latest effort to loot the American taxpayer.

President Trump is also threatening to veto the separate, $1.4 trillion defense/spending bill congress also passed on Monday evening. Lindsey Graham tweeted last night that the President would reconsider both vetoes if the bills were amended to include a larger payment to U.S. citizens and to include repeal of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, language that enables the big tech social media monopolies to engage in rank discrimination:

The problem the Democans and Republicrats in congress have here is that, at this point, the President has nothing to lose by vetoing these bills, given the current “official” status of the election outcome, in which China Joe Potato Head Biden has been declared the “winner” by Dominion Systems and corrupt election officials in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona and Nevada.

President Trump doesn’t have to worry about ever standing for re-election again, and hey, what’s one more bad media day for this man? Yes, unemployment benefits are scheduled to expire on Saturday unless a bill is signed into law to extend them, but the President has placed that ball squarely back in Congress’s court.

So, senators and representatives who rushed out of DC on Monday evening and during the day on Tuesday are probably going to have to rush back out to the Swamp to do a little damage control, and that will not make them happy, not at all.

Cool.

Pardon me? – No, but the President did issue pardons for 15 Americans on Tuesday, including George Papadopoulous, who was one of the main subjects of the illegal spying operation mounted by Obama’s FBI and Intelligence Community against the 2016 Trump Campaign. This is great news, as Papadopoulous did nothing wrong, but was bullied by the Mueller Gestapo into pleading guilty to a meaningless perjury charge back in 2018 in order to avoid his family members being targeted, just as they did to General Mike Flynn.

Other Trump pardons included former GOP congressmen Duncan Hunter and Steve Stockman, demonstrating that even Trump himself is not immune to the political demands of the Swamp. Those pardons were definitely undeserved.

The President also pardoned two former Border Patrol officers who were subjected to an entirely political prosecution over the killing of an illegal alien during the George W. Bush administration. Their sentences were previously commuted by Bush, but these full pardons finally give them some real justice, although nothing can ever undo the harm caused to their lives by the corrupt Department of Justice.

The rest of the pardons are detailed in this Business Insider piece:

Among the former lawmakers Trump pardoned was Duncan Hunter, who pleaded guilty last year to one count of misusing campaign funds. He was sentenced to 11 months in prison but has not yet begun serving out his sentence.

Also on the list was former GOP congressman Steve Stockman, who was convicted in 2018 on 23 felony counts of fraud, money laundering, conspiracy, and false statements. Stockman was sentenced to ten years in prison and ordered to pay more than $1 million in restitution. Trump commuted the remainder of Stockman’s sentence on Tuesday, citing his age, his pre-existing health conditions, and the fact that he contracted COVID-19 while in prison.

Trump also granted a pardon to former Rep. Chris Collins, who pleaded guilty last year to making false statements to the FBI and conspiracy to commit securities fraud. He is currently serving out a 26-month sentence.

The four Blackwater guards Trump pardoned on Tuesday were found guilty in connection to a deadly shooting in Baghdad that killed 17 Iraqi civilians. One of the former contractors, Nicholas Slatten, was convicted of first-degree murder and is serving out a lifetime prison sentence. The other three defendants were convicted of multiple counts of voluntary manslaughter, attempted manslaughter, and firearms offenses.

The two former Border Patrol agents the president pardoned, Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, were convicted in 2006 for shooting and injuring an unarmed undocumented immigrant. Their sentences were later commuted by President George W. Bush, and Trump granted them full pardons on Tuesday.

[End]

The real shame in all of this is that Papadopoulous had to wait so long to have his name fully cleared. But that’s how the DC Swamp works.

Fantastic! How can I help? – The corrupt news media will be all verklempt about it, but this is wonderful news for America: Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz are trying to convince President Trump to submit both the Obama Iran Nuclear deal and the Paris Climate Accords to the Senate for ratification:

Graham and Cruz know without any doubt at all that neither deal – which Obama executed as “executive agreements” during his 8-year reign of terror against the American Republic – could possibly garner the 2/3rds approval of the senate needed for ratification, thus killing them completely dead before China Joe Potato Head can assume office and re-implement them as executive agreements.

It’s a fantastic plan, and we should all hope that President Trump takes advantage of it.

Here’s an excerpt from a story at the UK Independent:

Republican senators Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham have reportedly urged Donald Trump to submit both the Iran nuclear deal and the Paris Climate Agreement to the Senate, in a last-minute attempt to stop the US rejoining the accords once the president leaves office.

In a letter obtained by RealClearPolitics, Mr Cruz, from Texas, urged Mr Trump and US secretary of state Mike Pompeo to submit the accords to the Senate before President-elect Joe Biden is inaugurated on 20 January.

Mr Cruz said that submitting the international agreements would trigger votes to ratify them, which are unlikely to pass with a tight Senate, as they would need the support of two-thirds of senators, according to iran-nuclear-deal-republicans-aim-to-block-biden-rejoining”>The Guardian.

The senator claims that if the accords fail to be ratified, it would effectively block Mr Biden from rejoining them, as he would have to contradict a recent decision from the Senate.

A senior congressional aide told RealClearPolitics that submitting the accords to fail in the Senate “would be the final nail in the coffin.”

In his letter to the president, Mr Cruz wrote: “I urge you now to remedy the harm done to the balance of powers by submitting the Iran deal and the Paris agreement to the Senate as treaties.”

He added: “Only by so doing will the Senate be able to satisfy its constitutional role to provide advice and consent in the event any future administration attempts to revive these dangerous deals.”

[End]

Understand that all Cruz and Graham are advising President Trump to do is to subject these two treasury-looting deals to the normal course of order that Obama should have been required to follow. Constitutionally, this is the process required to commit the United States of America to such international agreements, a process that has been bastardized and corrupted by decades of horrible Supreme Court decisions enabling Obama’s betrayals.

Do it, Mr. President. After all, what have you got to lose?

That is all.

Texas AG Paxton and Sen. Cruz Step Up to Fight Democrat Election Fraud

God Bless Texas for sending this man to Washington. – He is likely the least popular senator among his colleagues in the Senate, and there is a good reason why that is the case. That reason centers around the fact that Texas Senator Ted Cruz is never shy about challenging the status quo, or about upsetting the Senate’s country club atmosphere.

Cruz is a disruptor in the Senate, the uninvited guest to the wedding party who spikes the punch, turns over the bridal cake table or leaps in front of the gathered spinsters to catch the garter. He’s Vince Vaughn in “The Wedding Crashers” alongside Rand Paul playing the Owen Wilson part.

On Monday, Senator Cruz did it again, no doubt eliciting a heavy round of tsk tsks from the Susan Collins’s and Mitt Romneys of the world by tweeting that he’d be more than happy to present oral arguments to the Supreme Court in the Pennsylvania election case should the court decide to hear the case:

Cruz went on to say the following in three subsequent tweets:

Because of the importance of the legal issues presented, I’ve publicly urged #SCOTUS to hear the case brought by Congressman Mike Kelly, congressional candidate Sean Parnell & state rep. candidate Wanda Logan challenging the constitutionality of the POTUS election results in PA.

Petitioners’ legal team has asked me whether I would be willing to argue the case before #SCOTUS, if the Court grants certiorari. I have agreed, and told them that, if the Court takes the appeal, I will stand ready to present the oral argument.

As I said last week, the bitter division and acrimony we see across the Nation needs resolution. I believe #SCOTUS has a responsibility to the American People to ensure, within its powers, that we are following the law and following the Constitution.

[End]

For those who are not aware, Cruz has a strong history of arguing cases before the Supreme Court from his time serving as Deputy Attorney General in Texas. No one has any idea if the court will agree to hear this case or how it would rule if it does, but God Bless Senator Cruz for being willing to stand up while most of his cowardly colleagues are hiding in closets in desperate efforts to avoid taking questions from the press.

To think we almost lost this guy to Beto O’Rourke. Holy crap.

Well, this is a novel approach, at least. – Speaking of the Texas Attorney General’s office, current Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is using the office to join the crowded field of lawyers challenging the results of the November presidential election.  He is taking a novel approach, especially when one considers that Donald Trump easily defeated China Joe Potato Head Biden in the Lone Star State, an outcome no one is challenging.

Per former Texas Ranger Roscoe Davis, Paxton filed a petition directly to the U.S. Supreme Court late last night, claiming that this direct appeal to the USSC is valid due to its standing as the original court of jurisdiction in disputes between states. Paxton’s reasoning, if Davis is accurately summarizing the case, is that the states of Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania violated the Electors Clause of the Constitution and the 12th Amendment by implementing invalid changes to voting rules and procedures via the courts or executive orders. This would make sense to any common sense reading of the Electors Clause, since it gives sole authority to son the subject:

The end around case has been put together by TX AG Ken Paxton suing GA, MI, WI, and PA at SCOTUS. Bringing this case across multiple jurisdictions gives it a straight lane to the SCOTUS.

This happened just before midnight tonight, will post documents soon.

Texas approached the Supreme Court directly because Article III provides that it is the court of first impression on subjects where it has original jurisdiction, such as disputes between two or more states, this is hard tactics.

The Great State of Texas argues that these states violated the Electors Clause of the Constitution because they made changes to voting rules and procedures through the courts or through executive actions, but not through the state legislatures.

These non-legislative changes to the Defendant States’ election laws facilitated the casting and counting of ballots in violation of state law, which, in turn, violated the Electors Clause of Article II, Section 1, Clause 2 of the U.S. Constitution.

Additionally, Texas argues that there were differences in voting rules and procedures in different counties within the states, violating the Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause. Bush v. Gore 2000.

Finally, Texas argues that there were “voting irregularities” in these states as a result of these changes.

Texas is asking the Supreme Court to order the states to allow their legislatures to appoint their electors. If this is successful it opens the door for the next step.

The genius behind this is they don’t have to prove fraud, there’s no doubt there are “election irregularities” all that has to be proven is that they changed election laws by executive order and not by legislation as required by the US Constitution. Article II, Section 1 Clause 2.

All these Governors and Sec of States making these changes out in the open make the case pretty clear.

The Defense is going to claim it was a COVID Pandemic, mark my words, it’s all they got, it was their excuse for everything in every state.

Article II, Section 1, Clause 2 is really clear and there is no Pandemic clause.

Now when they start screaming Pandemic Crisis, all the libs that went out for haircuts and Napa Valley Dinners, and seen all over the media, claiming privilege, are screwed.

If you can go to the store, go out to eat, go get your hair done, do all the things the political elite were doing, while claiming lockdown and mask mandates, then you can get out and vote, no need for special circumstances!

Game set match.

The relief being sought has not only precedent (Election of 1836) it has constitutional verbage to back it up.

Not asking for the SCOTUS to throw out ballots, just follow the Constitution and the 12th Amendment of a Contingent Election.

[End]

All you folks in Georgia might want to pay attention to steps these Texas officials are willing to take to try to reverse what is a clearly fraudulent election result in your own state, and contrast it to the ongoing coverup being desperately implemented by your own Governor, Brian Kemp, and Sec. State Brad Raffensperger.

It is a very stark contrast indeed.

God Bless Texas.

Biden Masks His Court Packing Position With Lies

Who gets away with this? – Why, any Democrat gets away with it, that’s who:

Yes, friends, you don’t deserve to know what Joe Biden’s position on packing the Supreme Court is before you go vote in this election. You don’t have to believe me or anyone else, the candidate himself just told you that. It’s like Nancy Pelosi and the whole Obamacare deal, when she said that neither Americans nor members of congress needed to know what was in the 2,000 page bill before congress voted on it: “We’ll have to pass the bill to see what’s in it.”

As always, the contempt for the average American held by Democrat politicians is brutally stunning. But it’s nothing new: The only difference between now and 50 years ago is that the politicians no longer make any effort to hide it.

Look, there is no mystery here: Biden’s refusal to answer the question simply means that he is going to pack the court if he is elected. If he weren’t in favor of doing so, he would answer the question. This is not hard.

In order to justify that position, Biden and his supporters in and out of the corrupt news media have now taken to accusing the Republicans and President Trump of “packing the courts” by confirming so many federal judges over the past few years and by pushing the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court. Never mind that what the GOP has achieved since 2017 is thanks to the fact that the voters, in fair and free elections, chose to award the Party control of both the presidency and the U.S. Senate.  President Trump’s and Mitch McConnell’s focus on nominating and confirming judges using the process laid out in the Constitution is now being portrayed somehow nefarious in and unfair.

Dan Rather, the guy who literally invented the entire model for “fake news” in the 2004 campaign, tweeted his support for this utterly dishonest line of though on Saturday, and Senate Ted Cruz had a great reply:

You just could never make this stuff up.

Meanwhile, Biden has to have help from his staff to even know which way to exit a podium:

That was after making yet another teleprompter speech to a pretend audience, during which he misread his staff-dictated position on the minimum wage. The Unfrozen Caveman Candidate said he wanted to require a minimum wage of “15 million dollars an hour” rather than $15 per hour.

Personally, I’ll take the $15 million an hour and retire now.

Interestingly, Biden also made this particular speech without wearing a mask as a virtue signal. It remains a mystery how his staff determines whether or not he should wear a mask at any given dictated speech before any given pretend audience.

Obviously, since there is never a real audience consisting of more than 5-8 people, there’s never a valid reason for him to have one on, but he wears one about 70% of the time, apparently purely as a virtue signal to all the suburban housewife Karens out there. Naturally, no one in the pack of incurious sheep who follow him around as his pretend “press corps” has ever had the intellectual curiosity to ask the simple question: How is this determination made? What are the criteria?

Is it purely based on the polling data of the moment? Is there some preset threshold of mask polling support that must be met in order for the candidate to don the mask, and if said support falls below that threshold, he doesn’t wear it?

Given that Democrats make literally every decision they make based on polling and focus group data, this seems most likely. But, just as with Biden/Harris Harris/Biden’s position on packing the courts, the corrupt news media lacks the institutional and personal integrity to do its job and obtain real answers.

Because that is who these corrupt fake journalists are, and it is what they do in today’s America.

Tuesday News Roundup: Don’t Expect Anything Real From Barr and Durham

Just another signal that nothing real is going on. – Normally the resignation of a single U.S. Attorney is no cause for concern or even much notice. But this one is different.

On Monday, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas John Bash announced his sudden resignation, effective this Friday. Bash, if you remember, is one of at least 5 U.S. Attorneys around the country who has been assigned by Attorney General William Barr to assist John Durham in his supposed Spygate/Obamagate investigation. Bash was assigned to this role shortly after it was publicly revealed that then-Vice Presient Joe Biden had personally participated in the illegal unmasking of General Mike Flynn during the waning days of the Obama presidency.

From the official DOJ release on Bash’s resignation:

SAN ANTONIO, Tex. – U.S. Attorney John F. Bash announced today that he will resign from the Department of Justice on Friday, October 9, 2020, at 11:59pm. U.S. Attorney Bash issued the following statement:

This Friday—eight years to the day after I first joined the Department of Justice—I will step down as United States Attorney for the Western District of Texas. Last month I accepted an offer for a position in the private sector and informed the Attorney General of my decision. I tendered formal letters of resignation to both the President and the Attorney General this morning.

The Attorney General has elected to appoint Gregg Sofer to succeed me as U.S. Attorney. Gregg is an inspired choice. He is a veteran Department of Justice attorney, serving first in the National Security Division at Main Justice and then for over a decade as a national-security specialist in our Austin office. In the latter role, he built a reputation as a dogged and tremendously effective prosecutor. In 2018, I selected Gregg to serve as our office’s Criminal Division Chief, where he designed and implemented significant improvements to our operations, oversaw thousands of prosecutions, and provided me with invaluable advice on a range of important issues and cases. Since early this year, he has served in Washington, D.C., as Counselor to the Attorney General. He will make an excellent U.S. Attorney.

Attorney General William Barr offered the following statement:

I offer my gratitude to John Bash for his service as United States Attorney for the Western District of Texas. Since 2017, John has successfully led one of the largest U.S. Attorney’s Offices in the country. John has made significant contributions to the Department of Justice, including his service on the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee. I appreciate his service to our nation and to the Justice Department, and I wish him the very best.

[End]

Folks, this is just another signal that you should not expect anything real to ever come out of the Durham “investigation.” Think about it: If you’re a U.S. Attorney and you are in the midst of really getting to the bottom of a literal coup d’etat, of what is without question the single most important political scandal in U.S. history, do you just up and resign to take another job?

Probably not.

There will be no perp walks from Mr. Durham. No indictments, no prosecutions, not even a “report” summarizing his findings. Durham is just another swampy guy playing out the string and hoping for a Biden win so he can just sweep what little he may have done to this point under that huge DC Swamp rug. Mr. Bash is just getting out while the getting is good.

You should do the same.

This is about to happen in Portland. – Having a communist Democrat idiot like Ted Wheeler as their Mayor is apparently not depraved enough for the majority of Portland residents. A new poll finds the incumbent buffoon running 11 points behind this:

From a story at Willamette Week:

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler trails his challenger Sarah Iannarone by 11 points, according to a poll of likely voters conducted by DHM Research on behalf of the Portland Business Alliance.

The results were presented at a PBA meeting last week.

Wheeler polled at 30% to Iannarone’s 41%, with the remaining 29% of surveyed voters split between writing in a candidate (16%) or remaining undecided (13%). It’s an especially notable result given that the poll was not conducted by either campaign, though PBA is supporting the mayor. (The poll has a four percentage point margin of error.)

[End]

For those unaware, Iannarone describes herself as “the Antifa candidate.” Not kidding. Also note that the Portland Business Alliance, whose members have been so devasted by the unending riots allowed to linger all summer by Wheeler, are actually supporting the incumbent because Iannarone is such a repugnant alternative.

Portland is a lost city filled with lost people.

Can the federal courts save America? – They’ve been trying to do exactly that over the past few weeks, with appellate courts overturning a series of clearly anti-constitutional decisions issued by Obama judges related to voting and after-election day vote counting in a variety of potential swing states.

Monday saw another crucial case go the right way, this time in South Carolina. From story at RedState.com:

Late Monday afternoon the Supreme Court issued a “Stay” with regard to an order from a South Carolina federal district court judge who rewrote a provision of South Carolina election law due to the impact of COVID 19.

Judge Julianna Michelle Childs, an appointee of President Obama, granted an injunction for Plaintiffs preventing the South Carolina election officials from enforcing a provision of South Carolina election law requiring a witness signature on an absentee ballot envelope.   Judge Childs set for the relief being sought by the plaintiffs as follows:

The instant Motion seeks to enjoin four provisions related to absentee voting in South Carolina. Plaintiffs allege that the application of three of these provisions during the COVID-19 pandemic violates the United States Constitution and federal law and seek injunctive relief solely for the upcoming November 2020 General Election. The three provisions at issue include: the requirement that another individual must witness a voter’s signature on an absentee ballot envelope for the ballot to be counted (“Witness Requirement”).

After about 60 pages of legal sophistry, Judge Childs finally gets around to holding the same way every other Obama-appointed Judge has held — that COVID 19 changes everything.  Election law requirements that are fine without a pandemic, are unconstitutional infringements on the right to vote under the Fourteenth Amendment with a pandemic.  But everything will be fine again when Donald Trump is no longer running for re-election:

….the court GRANTS Plaintiffs’ Motion for Injunction as to the Witness Requirement and ENJOINS Defendants, their respective agents, officers, employees, successors, and all persons acting in concert with each or any of them, from enforcing the Witness Requirement set forth in S.C. Code Ann. § 7-15-380, and from enforcing the Witness Requirement set forth in any other South Carolina statutes, on registered absentee voters only during the November 2020 General Election occurring in the State of South Carolina.

But the Supreme Court’s emergency “stay” prevents Judge Childs order from being enforced — and does so in terms that make it absolutely clear the state election law on requiring signatures on absentee ballot envelopes will be enforced four weeks from now.

[End]

So, chalk up another win for truth, justice and the constitution.

Elections matter, folks. Judges matter.

Speaking of judges… – Ted Cruz had some interesting things to say about Chief Justice John Roberts and the series of inexplicable decisions he has issued over the past four years, always siding with the court’s liberal minority.

From a story at JustTheNews.com:

Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz says Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts “despises Donald Trump,” which accounts for a number of the decisions he had made from the top seat on the high court in recent years.

In an appearance on David Brody’s recently launched show “The Water Cooler,” Senator Cruz, an attorney and author of the new book “One Vote Away: How a Single Supreme Court Seat Can Change History,” told the host that “John Roberts has become the new Sandra Day O’Connor.”

Cruz said he agrees with Vice President Mike Pence, who in an interview last month, told David Brody that Justice Roberts has been a “disappointment to conservatives.”

However, Cruz believes that part of Roberts’ pivot away from conservative-minded jurisprudence is motivated by personal hatred toward the president. “I think it is personal,” said the senator.

“It is difficult to come up with two human beings more antithetical than John Roberts and Donald Trump, in every respect,” he continued.

[End]

Wednesday News Roundup: A False Beirut Explosion Narrative and the Portland Riots Explode Again

And so the false narrative forms around the Beirut explosion. – The official government narrative out of Lebanon about the horrific series of hundreds of smaller explosions followed by at least one, and possibly two massive blasts at the shipping port of Beirut on Tuesday.

As I noted yesterday, the Al Arabiya news service reported that the explosions took place at a warehouse that was a known weapons depot for the Hezbollah terrorist group that dominates Lebanon’s government. President Trump stated at his press conference late Tuesday evening that his generals had told him they believed it was an “attack” on Beirut, but did not elaborate.

But this morning we wake up to the following official narrative put out by the Hezbollah-dominated Lebanese government:

  • Beirut awoke to scenes of devastation this morning, following two huge explosions in its port which sent a blast wave across the city, killing at least 100 people and injuring nearly 4,000.
  • Lebanese prime minister Hassan Diab appealed to all countries and friends of Lebanon to extend help to the nation, saying: “We are witnessing a real catastrophe.” He earlier said the cause of the explosion was 2,700 tonnes of ammonium nitrate, a common industrial chemical used in fertiliser and as a component in mining explosives. Diab declared a national day of mourning for the victims of the explosion, and promised accountability.

[End]

Ok, so, we are to believe it was all caused by ammonium nitrate, the same element commonly used in fertilizers that was the source of the Oklahoma City bombing in 1994 and the horrible 2013 blast that leveled the city of West, Texas.

But there’s a big hole in that narrative: While improperly stored ammonium nitrate could indeed explain the enormous explosion(s) at the end of the clip below, it does not at all account for the hundreds of smaller explosions and massive fire that preceded that explosion.

Were those smaller explosions caused by fireworks, as early rumors contended? Or were they caused by exploding munitions? One thing is certain: They were not caused by ammonium nitrate.

The official government/media narrative, as usual, is false. Corrupt politicians and news media are not confined to the United States.

Who is the singled dimmest bulb in the United States Senate? – The badge for that honor might just have to go to Hawaii’s disgraceful senator, Mazie Hirono, who embarrasses herself and her state each and every time she opens her incredibly stupid mouth.

The Senator really outdid herself at yesterday’s hearing on domestic terrorism held by the Subcommittee on the Constitution, which is chaired by Texas Senator Ted Cruz. Watch below as she embarrasses herself and then is further embarrassed by Cruz as she storms out of the hearing:

This is who you are voting for, Democrats. A pox on all your houses for doing so.

The Portland riots are escalating again. – After a few nights during which the Antifa/BLM rioters tapered down their activities to help support the media/Democrat narrative that all the violence was the fault of federal law enforcement officers, the violence exploded on the streets again.

As usual, the one and only reason why we know all of this is thanks to intrepid real journalist Andy Ngo, who flew across the country to testify in Ted Cruz’s hearing on domestic terrorism during the day, and then flew all the way back to Portland to capture the truth.

Here is some of the action from Tuesday night/Wednesday morning – the action was still ongoing as I compiled this piece at 5:30 a.m. Central Time.:

And, for those who may be buying the media/Democrat lies that the disruptive actions of the rioters are isolated to “just a few blocks downtown,” there’s this:

The simple truth here is that communist Democrat Governor Kate Brown and communist Democrat Mayor Ted Wheeler are still hamstringing the ability of state and local law enforcement to use all the tools at their disposal to effectively put down these domestic terrorists. Which is not surprising given that these domestic terrorists are in fact aided and abetted by the Democrat Party.

These riots have now gone on uninterrupted for more than 70 consecutive days and nights. Because they are organized and funded by Democrats, they will not end until they are put down, or until the Democrats see polling data that indicates they are harming their election chances.

Yes, it’s despicable; yes, it’s depraved; yes, it is disgraceful, demented and disgusting. But hey, these are Democrats we’re talking about here. You expected something else?

That is all.

Ted Cruz: “DOJ MUST Ensure” Ghislaine Maxwell Remains Among the Living

Let’s make sure all those security cameras are actually turned on this time, hmmmm? – Texas Senator Ted Cruz laid down a bar for Attorney General William Barr and his people to meet in the case involving Ghislaine Maxwell this morning:

Note the quotes Cruz places around the phrase “hang himself” – clearly communicating that he shares our skepticism about the official government story around the killing of Jeffrey Epstein while in federal custody last year.

Keeping Maxwell safe likely will indeed be a challenge given that a convenient case of “COVID-19” has been added to the list of ways she could be offed or find her demise. Why, who wouldn’t believe it if she were to suddenly grow very ill and be unable to fight off a virus with a mortality rate of somewhere around 1/2 of 1 percent, a rate that continues to go lower with each passing day of grossly inflated “case” numbers being reported by hospitals around the country?

If you believe social media, the BBC and probably other media outlets are already testing their future stories and headlines about poor Ghislaine’s fight against the viral gift from China:

Image

Folks on Twitter are swearing that story really did momentarily go up at the BBC’s website today, although I can’t vouch for that. But would it surprise you?

Think about the names of the powerful people who are threatened by Maxwell’s status as a federal prisoner who might start singing like a canary any day in order to avoid spending life in the pokey:

Bill and Hillary Clinton

Prince Andrew of Britain

Billionaire Mike Bloomberg

Bill Gates

Some guy named John Roberts who may or may not be the same John Roberts currently serving as chief justice of the Supreme Court

These are but a few of the hundreds of very prominent and extremely wealthy people who have been rumored to be pals with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein himself, remember, lasted less than a month before he very conveniently committed “suicide” by executing a maneuver to hang himself in his cell that in reality would have been physically impossible.

While Epstein was the principal in the pedophilia and sex-trafficking ring, Maxwell was the facilitator and thus, no less a threat to Epstein’s clientele.

The Daily Caller reports today that one of Epstein’s, ahem, ‘business associates’ is telling anyone who will listen that the FBI has known of Maxwell’s whereabouts for months and that he expects she will “snap in two seconds” at the prospect of spending years in prison:

“They knew where she was all the time [in New Hampshire],” Hoffenberg told the publication. “It was a question if America was going to take the case or not, now America has made up its mind to take the case.”

Hoffenberg reportedly maintains contact with Maxwell’s spokesperson, and told the Sun that Maxwell did not think she would be arrested. (RELATED: FBI Knew Of Allegations Against Ghislaine Maxwell As Early As 1996, Accuser Says. It Took 24 Years To Arrest Her)

“If they keep her in prison, she’ll crack in two seconds,” he said. “She’s not able to take that sort of cruel punishment, prison is too tough and hard, she’ll have to be in solitary confinement, and she’ll snap.”

“She’s going to cooperate and be very important,” he added, before noting that her words might implicate high profile people including the UK’s Prince Andrew. “Andrew may be very concerned, and there’s a lot of people very worried, a lot of powerful people been named [in the scandal], and she knows everything.”

[End]

Senator Cruz understands what the deal is here, and he wants Attorney General Barr to understand that. Honestly, if Maxwell dies mysteriously in prison in the coming weeks, then those of us who have been sitting quietly as America’s cities have been looted and burned might need to do some burning and rioting of our own.

That is all.

The Evening Wrap: Rosenstein Tosses McCabe Under the Bus, and Other WINNING News

So many items of WINNING news today it’s hard to know where to start.

How about this: The ADP private sector jobs report for May is in, and although it’s a big negative number, it’s still positive news in the context of this whole self-imposed Wuhan Virus recession. The ADP number for May came in at a net jobs loss of 2.76 million, which is obviously a depressing number. But – and it’s a big BUT – the consensus of projections by the so-called experts in this field had predicted a loss of 8.663 million jobs, almost 6 million more than the actual number.

What this means is pretty clear:

– Many workers who had lost jobs over the last 10 weeks and filed initial claims for unemployment quickly found new jobs;

– Businesses are reopening faster than the “experts” have anticipated despite the efforts by an array of Democrat governors to prevent that from happening in states like Michigan, New York, California, Oregon, New Jersey and Nevada;

– The reduction in economic growth has obviously not been as deep and severe as most have estimated.

That’s why we have this next bit of WINNING news: The Dow Jones Industrial Average rocketed up above 26,000 today, just 5 trading days after it topped 25,000 last Wednesday, and just 9 weeks after it bottomed out at 18,591. That is a rise of ~40% in a little over 2 months.

At the same time, the NASDAQ hit 9,681 today, and is now within just 70 points of regaining every bit of the losses it suffered in March. Given that the stock markets tend to reflect where investors believe the economy will be 3 to 6 months from now, that represents a stunning vote of confidence in the U.S. economy.

Obviously, the investor class in our country has just as little faith in the economic “expert” class as you and I do.

Oh, hey, then there’s this: You may be wondering why all the rioting across the country suddenly got dialed back last night. President Trump is saying that it’s because some mayors – like Eric Garcetti in Los Angeles – called in the National Guard, and that likely has a lot of merit. But other depraved Democrats like Bill de Blasio and Lori Lightfoot in Chicago did not do that, yet saw a dramatic decrease in violence and mayhem in their cities, too.

Here’s why I believe that happened: The Democrats – and thus, Antifa and Black Lives Matter – got hold of bad polling data, which meant all the bad out-of-state actors were ordered to go home. Remember, every decision the Democrats make is based on polling data.

The bad data on the riots came to them in the form of a new poll from the very liberal Morning Consult polling group, which finds that Americans favor using the National Guard and the U.S. military to put down these riots by a frankly amazing 58%-30% margin. The move is even favored by Democrat voters by a 48-43 margin.

In another bit of bad polling data (for Democrats), the Rasmussen survey shows that a large plurality of Americans consider Antifa to be a terrorist organization. 49% of respondents answered yes, while just 30% said no.

If you don’t think that data caused a ton of Democrat heads to explode, then you don’t understand how Democrats think and operate.

Uhhhh, who to believe – Rod Rosenstein? Or Andrew McCabe? – It’s a very tough choice, but that is what America faces today following an interesting Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in which the oily, rodent-like former Acting Attorney General offered his sniffing and slurping testimony. In this instance, I would tend to believe Rosenstein, if only for the fact that being slightly more believable than the pathological liar McCabe is such a low damn bar.

As we pointed out yesterday, Rosenstein has much to answer for related to his gross misconduct in office during the active coup d’etat effort which he personally facilitated from May 2017 through March 2019. Sadly, the stilted format of these hearings and uselessness of so many of the GOP senators meant that he only had to answer for a few of those things today.

The main focus of the few Republicans who really went after Rosenstein today – Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz and Chuck Grassley – was why Rosenstein signed off on the 4th fraudulent FISA warrant and appointed Robert Mueller shortly after he had assumed the office of Deputy Attorney General. Rosenstein’s wormy answer basically amounted to, “hey, I was just going on the information provided to me by Andy McCabe and his evil team, which included Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.”

Remember, at a press conference two years ago, Rosenstein went on and on about the fact that “In order to get a FISA warrant, you need an affidavit signed by a career law enforcement officer who swears the information is true… And if it is wrong, that person is going to face consequences.”

Remember that? I do, and today Rosenstein outright admitted his signing off on that FISA warrant based solely on the word of a pathological liar and his demonic staff was, well, wrong. But of course, he then added that, hey, he was just the new guy at DOJ and couldn’t be expected to try to verify any of the BS he was being fed by McCabe and Strzok and Page.

Naturally, McCabe was watching the proceedings at home – or maybe at CNN headquarters, where he remains employed as a richly-paid on-screen liar, er, “contributor” – and he issued a statement defending himself as the hearing was progressing, as reported by JustTheNews.com:

In a statement apparently authored shortly after Rosenstein made that assertion, McCabe said that Rosenstein’s “claims to have been misled by me or anyone from the F.B.I.” were “completely false.”

“I briefed Mr. Rosenstein on Jim Comey’s memos describing his interactions with the president days after Mr. Rosenstein wrote the memo firing Jim Comey,” McCabe said, in a statement read by committee Chairman Lindsey Graham.

Rosenstein’s remarks “loo[k] to be another sad attempt by the president and his men to rewrite the history of their actions in 2017,” McCabe said. “They have found in Mr. Rosenstein, then and now, a willing accessory in that effort.”

[End]

Hilariously, Lindsey Graham closed the hearing out by reading McCabe’s statement and allowing Rosenstein to give one more worm-like answer:

“I did not say that Mr. McCabe misled me,” he said. “Those were not my words. I think he is responding to somebody’s question.”

“What I said was, he did not reveal the Comey memos to me for a week. And that is true. He revealed them to me only a couple of hours before they showed up in the New York Times, and he did not reveal to me that he was having internal deliberations with his team about whether to target high-profile people for investigation.”

[End]

Here’s reality: Rosenstein admitted under oath today that he had zero basis for signing that FISA warrant; zero basis for believing anyone in the Trump Campaign or Transition team was colluding with the Russians; and thus, zero basis for appointing a special counsel. He admitted that he basically didn’t know nuthin’ about nuthin’ and just allowed himself to be strung along by the coup cabal made up of Obama holdovers at the DOJ and FBI.

Absolutely sickening.

Tomorrow, expect the GOP majority to vote unanimously to issue subpoenas to more than 50 Obama loyalists who tried to fix the 2016 election and then overthrow a duly-elected POTUS.

This is actually gonna be fun to watch.

I leave you with this absolutely epic clip of Senator Ted Cruz destroying Rosenstein, Barack Obama, Susan Rice and Joe Biden at today’s hearing:

Rod Rosenstein Has Much to Answer For, if Only the Senators Will Demand he do so

The Afternoon Campaign Update

Rod Rosenstein will testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee tomorrow in Lindsey Graham’s first Obamagate-related hearing since he assumed the chairmanship in January 2019. Supposedly, the committee will then reconvene on Thursday to vote to subpoena a long list of the major players in the whole Russia Collusion hoax that morphed into a soft coup d’etat under the guise of the Mueller Investigation.

Who was the guy responsible for creating the Gestapo/KGB-style Mueller Investigation? Why, Mr. Rosenstein, of course, which, combined with the fact that he also personally signed one of the fraudulently-compiled applications for FISA warrants presumably explains why Graham chose him as the witness to kick off the committee’s festivities. But those are far from the only items of interest we know about Rosenstein’s role in the four-year Obamagate hoax.

Here are some others:

  • We know Rosenstein had a long series of contacts with Robert Mueller in the two weeks leading up to Mueller’s appointment as Special Counsel – what were those about?
  • We know that Rosenstein actually recommended that President Trump appoint Mueller to be his FBI Director after he had fired James Comey.
  • We know Rosenstein actually set up an interview for Mueller for that position with the President himself, and on the very next day appointed Mueller to be the Special Counsel. He should be forced by GOP committee members to explain that timing of events, and why he thought that Mueller of all people would be the right person to lead the Trump FBI.
  • We have very solid indications that Rosenstein, in a meeting with Andrew McCabe and other FBI/DOJ coup cabal participants, offered to wear a wire to record his conversations with the President of the United States.
  • We know that Rosenstein wrote two additional authorization memos extending Mueller’s scope in the months following his appointment, but have not seen the full text of those memos.
  • We know that, because Jeff Sessions was recused, Rosenstein personally had oversight over the entire Mueller enterprise and the rampant abuses and Gestapo-style tactics it used to deprive U.S. citizens of their rights and freedoms. In a span of two solid years, Rosenstein never exercised his authority to rein in the out-of-control special counsel operation.
  • We know that Rosenstein coordinated with then-Washington office U.S. Attorney Jessie Liu to cover up the crimes committed by James Wolfe, the counsel for the Senate Intel Committee who traded national secrets for sex with a New York Times reporter less than half his age.
  • We know that Rosenstein coordinated multiple times with the corrupt U.S. attorneys framing General Mike Flynn to withhold exculpatory documents from Flynn’s defense team.
  • We know that Rosenstein stood before the assembled national press and announced Mueller’s sham indictments of Concorde Management, a Russian firm, knowing full well those indictments had zero substance behind them and were purely for show.

This is all stuff I can think of just off the top of my head – there is no doubt much, much more fertile ground to be plowed in tomorrow’s hearing with Rosenstein if Graham and his fellow GOP committee members are willing to do so.

Certainly, if this hearing were being held before the completely corrupted, RINO-filled Senate Intel Committee, we could only rely on Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton to ask anything resembling tough questions of Rosenstein. But here’s the thing about the Judiciary Committee: There are half a dozen Republican members who can be counted on to really take it to this witness.

Those senators include:

  • Texas Senator Ted Cruz;
  • Missouri Senator Josh Hawley;
  • Crusty old Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley;
  • Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn;
  • Louisiana Senator John Kennedy; and
  • Senator Graham himself, who, despite his interminable delaying tactics, can be counted on to put on a good show in front of the TV cameras.

The rest of the Republicans – Senators Mike Lee (UT), John Cornyn (TX), Joni Ernst (IA), Mike Crapo (ID), Ben Sasse (NE), and Thom Tillis (NC) will likely be useless. And of course, the Democrat members can be counted on to obfuscate and resort to their usual subject-shifting histrionics. Because they aren’t serious people, and that’s what they do.

Rosenstein is a clever and skilled lawyer, so no one should expect any slip-ups or big new revelations to escape his thin lips. But he will be testifying under oath, and the six senators listed above will make sure that this hearing will not be easy for him.

He has much to answer for.

That is all.

Larry Schweikart: All the Times the Corrupt Media Pronounced Trump Dead

Guest Piece by America’s History Teacher, Larry Schweikart

[Note: Larry Schweikart, historian and author of the wonderful book “Reagan: The American President,” put up an excellent thread on Twitter last night, in which he takes the reader down memory lane. The thread chronicles many of the hundreds of times Democrats and their toadies in the corrupt, fake news media pronounced “the beginning of the end for Donald Trump.”

Think of how many times you have heard some talking head on cable TV make that statement. Trump has been pronounced dead so many times by so many nitwits that he is the envy of every alley filled with 9-lived cats. Below is Mr. Schweikart’s (@larryschweikart on Twitter) rapid-fire listing of many of the most epic examples, as only he can do it.]

1) As promised, a very long thread that I will Threadreader asap. But it’s important to review the constant, unending, perpetual claims that “it’s over for Drumpf” and “we’ve got him now.”

2) This is in light of the China Virus-It is real but it is also one of those “Good crises that go to waste” for DemoKKKrats & Hoax News media. So I am not misunderstood, Hoax Newsers/DemoKKKrats did not create/ invent the China Virus, but they are doing their best to exploit it.

3) So, let’s do a little trip down memory lane. Some of this comes from my “How Trump Won” with @joelpollak.

4) The first “gotcha” moment came in Iowa in July 2018 when Trump, asked a question about John McTurd–who had criticized him–replied that McTurd was a “war hero because he was captured . . . I like people that weren’t captured.” Supposedly this constituted Trump disparaging . .

4) contd . . all POWs & even the military. Immediately pundits & GOP elites said it was over for Trump. (“Trump crosses one line too many” blared Hot Air) Many reveled in thinking Trump had ended his campaign. Marco Rubio (Rubes) said the comment should be “a disqualifier . . .

4) contd . . as a commander in chief.”

Not so fast: Trump refused to apologize (which won him respect from people sick of Republicans apologizing for anything & everything) then pivoted to McTurd’s pathetic record on veterans.

5) The rapid spread of the story about 32-year-old Kate Steinle’s murder by an illegal in California brushed the McTurd story off the news. Blind Lemon Don grilled Trump on his comments about illegals “raping” but Trump had the last laugh:

5) contd . . “somebody’s doing the raping . . . . Who’s doing the raping?” Trump asked. Blind Lemon had no answer. By July 20 Trump took the lead in the GOP primary polling.

6) Except for a span of a few days in October, when Ben Carson slightly polled ahead of Trump, he never lost the poll lead throughout the nomination process.

7) Enter the “experts.” Karl Rove said Trump “won’t win” the nomination; George Will said Trump would be a disaster in the debates; Vox ran a piece saying Trump was “surging,” then reassured its readers “Here’s why He Won’t Win.”

7) contd . . Ross Douthat of the NYSlimes said “Donald Trump will not be the Republican nominee.” WaCompost editor James Downie: “Let’s dispose of the notion that Trump has a real shot at winning in Nov.” HuffPo: “Trump will not win the general election.” More?

7) Karl Rove: “Trump can’t win the general election.” Sean Trende: “There’s probably a 90% chance Trump loses.” The (Commie) Nation: “Relax, Donald Trump can’t win.” And our buddy Fat Frank Luntz: “Hillary Clinton will be the next President” (on election night!)

8) By August 2015, in public while all the GOP elites were saying Trump couldn’t win, @RushLimbaugh discussed story about big donors who were telling all the other candidates to do what it took to “Take Trump Out.”

9) In that debate Trump was the only candidate who refused to say he would back the party nominee if he didn’t win. To the GOPe that was horrifying. To mainstream Republicans looking at a repeat of a McTurd or Minion candidacy with Yeb (“low energy”) Bush, this was a good sign.

10) Trump had singlehandedly pushed illegal immigration onto the front burner: one project tracing the number of media “mentions” found that stories about illegals doubled after Trump.

11) By that time, among national voices only Rush and @scottadamssays caught onto Trump’s dominance of the news cycle, which cost him nothing. Meanwhile, competitors burned through their money.

12) So-called conservative voices ramped up their attacks. Rich Lowry called Trump “a loudmouth mogul,” Fox News routinely criticized Trump—but none of his opponents—and GOP Party Chairman Reince Priebus (“Rinse and Repeat”) said “Donald Trump [is not] the Republican brand.”

12) contd . . .That was music to the ears of many who were sick of the “Republican brand.” Ari Fleischer said Trump was a “risk for the party” by tarnishing every Republican.

13) No sooner did Trump critics claim he had no”meat” in his proposals (a fact that ended Ross Perot’s boomlet in 1992), Trump produced a widespread immigration reform plan with specific policy proposals.

14) By then some were admitting Trump might win the Iowa caucuses. Even then, they ignored the social media dominance that Trump wielded: he had almost 4mm Twitter followers, compared to Clinton’s 4+ million followers. (Later, one third of Clinton’s were found to be bots).

14) contd . . Trump’s weekly Twitter growth exceeded that of four of his main competitors combined. Trump gained about 400,000 followers a week in late 2015.

15) By then also, Trump was holding massive rallies of 15,000-20,000 people. No Republican & only Dinobernie Sanders could ever approach those numbers. At the end of October, Trump yielded the polling lead to Carson—who quickly crashed.

16) Next Trump raised the question about Muslim loyalty to the US. When the Hoax News/GOPe jumped on him, Trump claimed there were “thousands” of Muslims shown on TV celebrating 9/11. (Fact Check: True). Hoax News media had deliberately downplayed those celebrations . . .

16) contd . . in an effort to portray the majority of Muslims as “just like us.” Then tapes surfaced proving Trump’s claims.

17) Increasingly, by November 2015, it looked as though only the nearly-equally hated Ted Cruz could stop Trump. Cruz had made enemies out of the establishment with his one man government shutdown for a time under the Obama (Zero) Administration.

18) Then some amazing polls started to come out: Trump was viewed by black & Hispanic Republicans more favorably than any other candidate including Yeb & Rubes who pandered to them.

18) contd . . . Stories examining Trump’s support found it was across the board; young, old, men, women, college-educated and non-college educated.

19) Only two years later did analysis show that college education had little to do with opposition to Trump, but the location of the college educated Republican (i.e., big city vs non-big city). Naturally, this analysis did NOT come from GOPe insiders like Jay Cost or Adrian Gray

20. Having resigned themselves to the fact that Trump would indeed win a lot of primaries, Hoax News and the GOPe insiders now fell back to their next position, that Trump couldn’t reach the 1,237 delegate number for the nomination.

20) contd . . (My own analysis in late Feb. 2016 showed Trump would win close to 1,300 delegates. He actually got closer to 1,400).

21) Then came the next “This is it for Drumpf”. After an article from the National Enquirer about Ted Cruz cheating appeared, Cruz blamed Trump. A PAC associated with Cruz in Utah ran an ad on Melania Trump citing her days as a lingerie model.

21) contd . . The incident was enough to get Cruz Wisconsin & raised hopes he and Ohio’s John Kasich could somehow unite to deny Trump the delegates.

22) Perhaps more important, Cruz had begun poaching Trump’s committed delegates trying to persuade them to switch. This led Trump to counter by firing Corey Lewandowski and bringing in Paul Manafort.

23) Manafort had one job and one job only: secure the nomination from the “insiders.” He did it well. Make no mistake: without Manafort, Trump wouldn’t be president.

24) All hopes of defeating Trump within the primary process ended after a Cruz loss in Indiana.”We left it all on the field,” a dejected Cruz said.

25) Next up in the “This is it for Drumpf” was the notion that Trump would spit the GOP. Didn’t happen. A few pungerpuckers like Bill (Broken) Kristol and David FrenchFry threw tantrums, but most Republicans lined up to defeat Cankles.

26) What ensued was the most criminal, unethical, and fraudulent use of “news” and “polling” in American history. I’ve been over their tactics before. What Hoax News & Hoax Polling did not realize was that by lying perpetually and universally about Trump . . .

26) contd . . they ended all claims to legitimacy they ever had. Republicans never believed them. After November, neither would DemoKKKrats.

A whole book needs to be written on this whoring of polling & the Hoax News media and its effect on real news.

27) One of the next major steps for Trump was to ditch Manafort. First, charges were coming out that he was dirty and tied to Ukraine. Second, however—even unknown to Trump—he needed a different type of campaign for the stretch. Enter Kellyanne Conway and Steve Bannon.

27) contd . . Just as Trump needed Manafort at the right moment, he needed Bannon and Conway at the right moment. But the foundation for the campaign was Brad Parscale and Jared Kushner—Mr. #s and Mr. $$.

28) By mid-October, Trump was hitting on all cylinders, while Cankles was often hitting the pavement. To this day, no one knows what was wrong with her, but her failing health and uninspiring persona had her falling behind Trump (again, despite Hoax Polling).

29) An internal poll shared with me by Bannon in the first week of October had Trump winning & had him VERY close in Rhode Island (!), Oregon, and Illinois. I was so stunned I asked Bannon if those numbers were right. He confidently said yes.

30) Then, Oct. 9, just before the debate, came the “Access Hollywood” video–the latest “This will finish Drumpf” move. While it likely cost him New Hampshire and Minnesota–and possibly the popular vote–it flushed through the system before it could do permanent damage.

31) Next up was the election, then the immediate post-election stories that Trump would resign before the inauguration. I still don’t know where those stories came from, except Pence was always elevated in these stories.

32) As inauguration neared, next up was the “Trump will resign soon. He really never intended to govern.”

33) Then came the shocker: Sessions recused himself & Rat Rosenstein signed off on the Special Counsel to look at the “muh Russia” collusion campaign hatched by Cankles.

34) That led to the “It’s Mulehead Time” & claims Mulehead’s band of flagellating phonies would “take down Drumpf.”

35) Next in the “Get Drumpf” lineup: Porny Daniels, who turned out to have nothing. She was aided and abetted by “the next president,” Michael Avenatti.

35) contd . . He soon found himself facing a felony conviction for extortion from Nike. Avenatti was held in jail awaiting sentencing—the man who (it was thought) “would put Drumpf in jail.”

36) On October 27, 2017, Manafort was indicted. “Now we’re gonna get Drumpf.” Except not. Manafort never gave Mulehead or his team any info, despite massive jail sentences.

37) That same month, Omarosa resigned touting in her book Unhinged (which must have referred to herself) that she had “secret tapes” of Trump using racial language. Except she didn’t. Though she may have violated the Espionage Act in releasing a tape, she is still not in jail.

38) In May 2018, the “Now we got Drumpf” loonies indicted Michael Cohen & raided his offices. Whackadoodle Libs (WLs) were SURE that he & all the files/computers the FBI seized would be the silver bullet.

38) contd . . Now, with Avenatti, Cohen became the second one who was gonna “be the one to get Drumpf” who himself ended up in jail. Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison for tax evasion & campaign finance violations.

39) In March 2019, the Whackadoodle Lefties’ wet dream, the Mulehead Report, was released—except there was nothing in it. Despite what you may read on the Satanic Wikipedia, the report proved no Russkie Collusion. It so disappointed the WLs they dragged . . .

39) contd . . the senile Mulehead into Congressional Testimony, where he stammered, stalled, and failed to provide one single damning piece of evidence. WLs were beside themselves. Their “sure thing” to get Drumpf had blown up in their faces.

40) In July 2019, using a leaked “whistleblower” (i.e., traitor) report of irregularities in a phone call between Ukraine (note: not “muh Russia” any more but Russia’s ENEMY!), Congress began an investigation centered on Lt. Col. Veeta Vita Vindman.

40) contd . . Since Mulehead had collapsed, this was the only thing the now-DemoKKKrat-controlled House could concoct. They came up with two articles of impeachment.

41) In December 2019, the utterly corrupt Congress approved the articles on “abuse of power” and “obstruction of Congress” (a term that doesn’t even exist in the Constitution.) The Senate rightly voted these two down 52-48 and 53-47. Only one so-called Republican, . . .

41) contd . . Minion Romney, voted for either. Soon thereafter, the traitorous Veeta Vita Vindman and ambassador Gordon Sondland were given the boot.

42) And finally, there was the “Trump will never run for reelection.” Oddly, Trump filed for a reelect committee in 2017, almost immediately after winning the first time. This time, he has raised more money, & faces a far weaker opponent, while having made more inroads . . .

42) contd . . with black and Hispanic voters since 2016.

And WLs think the China Virus or blue-state lockdowns are gonna get Drumpf now?

43) Trump will be reelected with between 320 and 340 electoral votes in 2020, likely winning the pop vote by a significant margin.

But Demented Biteme could turn those numbers into an even bigger margin for Trump.

Don’t bet against him.

Congress Declares Itself a Non-essential Entity

The Mid-Day Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Does Not Break For Lunch)

Tell us something we didn’t already know. – Every American should take note of the fact that the United States Congress chose to leave Washington D.C. for well over a full month in the midst of the most severe national and global crisis since September 11, 2001.

This represents absolute dereliction of duty on a grand and unprecedented scale.

Congress has basically classified itself as a non-essential entity. But hey, we’ve kind of known that all along, haven’t we?

Wait. We needed MIT to conduct a study to figure this out? – The New York Post carried a story this morning headlined “MIT study: Subways a ‘major disseminator’ of coronavirus in NYC”.

Excerpt from the report:

The paper, by MIT economics professor and physician Jeffrey Harris, points to a parallel between high ridership “and the rapid, exponential surge in infections” in the first two weeks of March — when the subways were still packed with up to 5 million riders per day — as well as between turnstile entries and virus hotspots.

“New York City’s multitentacled subway system was a major disseminator — if not the principal transmission vehicle — of coronavirus infection during the initial takeoff of the massive epidemic,” argues Harris, who works as a physician in Massachusetts.

You don’t say. Wonder what tipped them off?

Speaking of utter absurdities… – The corrupt news-fakers at Reuters carried a story this morning with this real, actual headline: “China says WHO has said no evidence coronavirus was made in a lab”.

Ok, so, Reuters quotes China, which quotes the corrupt WHO, which Reuters knows is just reciting China’s talking points. The article itself consists of 2 paragraphs containing maybe 75 words, with zero constructive analysis.

No hydroxychloroquine for her! – Just when Fredo gets towards the end of his own alleged recovery period from the Wuhan Virus, his wife allegedly comes down with it:

After demonizing hydroxychloroquine on-air for weeks solely because President Donald Trump has endorsed its use, Fredo mysteriously refuses to discuss what medications he has been treated with to fight the illness. Perhaps his wife will eventually be more forthcoming.

And now a message from your favorite budding James Bond villain:

Texas’s stellar Senator Ted Cruz saw this plaintive tweet from Gates, and responded as only Ted Cruz can do:

Brutal.

That is all.

FISA Renewal: The Key Reform is to Put People in Jail

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

One of the most depressing aspects of Attorney General William Barr’s ongoing conduct of his job is his current campaign to have the FISA law renewed without a single modification. Coming as it does directly in the wake of the report by DOJ IG Michael Horowitz identifying no fewer than 17 instances in which highi-ranking  DOJ/FBI officials lied to the FISA court in order to obtain warrants to spy on the Trump Campaign/Transition Team/Administration during 2016 and 2017, this insistence on a “clean” renewal of this dangerous law is simply inexcusable.

Barr is assuring Senators that they don’t need to fix the law because he personally will see to it that real reforms of the process are implemented within the DOJ and FBI. But if the administrative reforms offered by Christopher Wray – which consist essentially of a couple of yearly on-line “training” sessions – are any indication, that’s just another deflection by people who have no intention of actually fixing anything or punishing anyone.

Appearing on Fox Business last night, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton made some very astute remarks about the current debate that people need to listen to. Below is a clip of his interview with host Greg Jarrett, followed by some outtakes from his comments.

First, the clip:

Outtakes:

Fitton: Certainly, the process as it is set up isn’t protecting anyone’s rights. The FISA Court didn’t do its job; certainly they were the victims of a criminal conspiracy, But even when exposed, they haven’t held those responsible accountable. Forget about the Durham investigation: The FISA courts have inherent authority to investigate any criminality before the court, and I’m not seeing any evidence it is interested in doing that. If I were DOJ and FBI, I would have offered to help the court do that, but of course, DOJ and FBI are just pretending to quote, reform the system here.

The President has inherent constitutional authority to spy on foreign nationals. He doesn’t need FISA courts to do so. That authority is there, whether or not there is a FISA court. The FISA court is kind of like the War Powers Act – it’s kind of an uneasy compromise among the branches to try to restrain a presidential power that [congress] does not have the constitutional authority to restrain.

The key reform is to put people in jail who abuse the process criminally. This reform game is just that: A game. You know, Barr may have a credible point of view when he says, just renew it. Because the reform isn’t going to fix it in the sense that there’s no penalty for criminally violating the rights of American citizens.

The President’s a crime victim, and no one’s done a darn thing about it thus far. My thinking is that DOJ doesn’t even want to do anything [regarding reforms] during this period when FISA reforms are being debated, because they want the FISA court to continue operating.

Judicial Watch found – we had to force it out of the Justice Department – they admitted the FISA courts held not one hearing on any of the four FISA applications…on warrants targeting a candidate for president and a President of the United States. Why the heck have a FISA court if that’s the rubber stamp approach it takes?

The other key point here is that we still don’t have all the information. We still don’t know what else is in those FISA warrants. We don’t have all the text messages; we don’t have all the emails. So, they’re telling us they’ve got a handle on the problem; well, we don’t know the full extent of the problem and the full extent of the potential criminality.

The President is right to be skeptical of being rushed into approving this without any of the full information needed for any serious person to make a decision here.

Jarrett: In 2002, Comey was beaten up by the FISA court for his agents lying to the Court. He promised to institute reforms called the Woods procedures. And what happened? His agents went about circumventing those procedures, and of course we saw it in the Carter Page case. I’ve seen this film before; I know how it ends.

[End]

Fitton is right, of course: The one “reform” that would create a sure and long-lasting chilling effect on further abuses of the FISA process by FBI and DOJ officials would be to see Barr and Durham issue indictments targeting those who we know criminally abused the process in 2016/17: James Comey, Rod Rosenstein, Sally Yates, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, and on and on it goes.

Sadly, there is little indication that Barr has the slightest intention of pursuing real justice for any of those wrongdoers. Trusting Barr – who has repeatedly praised the worthless apparatchik Wray – to do anything real in terms of implementing “reforms” internally that would prevent future abuses is a fool’s errand.

I am generally opposed to Republicans in the Senate joining Democrats in filibusters, but this effort to renew the FISA law is a needed exception to the rule. Republican libertarians like Rand Paul, Mike Lee and Ted Cruz should be working to form a bipartisan coalition opposing ANY renewal of this dangerous statute until visible efforts to bring the known abusers of the system to justice are publicly taking place. Then, and only then, should the DOJ be trusted again with the use of this law.

WATCH: Ted Cruz Sums up the House Impeachment Scam

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

If you don’t think there was very good reason to investigate Joe and Hunter Biden’s influence game vis a vis Ukraine, then you, friend, are a liberal hack. – That’s the one and only conclusion any reasonable person can reach after Pam Bondi’s tour de force on the Senate floor Monday, where she literally evicerated the father/son gang of thugs.

Bondi, a former Attorney General of Florida who is a key part of the Trump defense team, not only exposed the Bidens’ racketeering in Ukraine, but also in China and Iraq, two other countries where Quid Pro Joe served as Obama’s “point man” on foreign policy. During the course of her expose’, Bondi not only exposed the Bidens, she also exposed the House Managers as dishonest hacks, and exposed the news media for the manner in which it actually made token efforts to expose the Biden corruption, but then turned on a dime to defend Quid Pro Joe once he declared himself a candidate for the presidency.

This exposure naturally threw the Capital press corps into a rage, and Texas Senator Ted Cruz became a target of their ire when he held a brief presser after Bondi had finished. Watch as Cruz exposes the Democrat/media hacks for what they are in this clip, which is followed by a transcript.

Here’s the Clip:

Here’s the transcript for those of you who still like to read stuff:

Cruz: This was the first time in the entire proceeding we have heard just the beginning of the serious evidence of corruption involving Burisma, the Ukrainian natural gas company that paid Hunter Biden, Joe Biden’s son, a million dollars a year…[reporter interrupts]… let me finish, I’ll answer the question…[another interruption] … let me answer the question without interrupting me please.

Burisma paid Hunter Biden, Joe Biden’s son, a million dollars a year while Hunter [Joe]  Biden threatened Ukraine to withhold a billion dollars in aid unless and until they filed the prosecutor investigating his son.

Reporter: When did Hunter Biden threaten anyone, sir?

Cruz: Joe Biden. Joe Biden, the Vice President of the United States, and we just saw a video, and I would encourage each and every news outlet here to actually show the video of Joe Biden bragging how he told the President of the Ukraine he was gonna cut off a billion dollars…he was gonna block a billion dollars in foreign aid to Ukraine unless they fired the prosecutor.

And Joe Biden, in his own words, ‘son of a bitch, the fired the guy.’

Reporter: So, why not have Bolton testify? [lots of belligerent crosstalk here from reporters]

Cruz: So, I get that the press loves to obsess over the latest bombshell. Listen, I don’t know what John Bolton’s book says or doesn’t say. I’ve seen the New York Times coverage, but at the end of the day, it doesn’t impact the legal issue before this senate.

The legal issue before this senate is whether the President has the authority to investigate corruption. The House Managers built their entire case [reporter tries to interrupt] on the proposition that investigating Burisma corruption, investigating the Bidens for corruption, was baseless and a sham. [more reporter interruptions]

Hold on, let me finish this…[more interruptions – note how desperate the media hacks are to prevent him from getting this point made] no, I’m gonna finish my point and then I’ll be happy to answer your question. The House Managers based their entire case on the proposition that investigating Burisma – and concerning the Bidens – was baseless and a sham.

That proposition is absurd. We’ve just seen…they said there wasn’t a shred of evidence concerning corruption. We’ve just seen two hours of evidence. And at a minimum, it was not only reasonable and justified, but the President, I think, had an obligation to investigate corrupt that potentially extended to the very highest levels of government.

Reporter: Senator, in that two hours, none of the President’s attorneys mentioned a single possible crime that Hunter or Joe Biden are accused of. [Cruz laughs out loud at this] What this basically is, is Hunter Biden got a job, and his father was Vice President. If that’s a crime, shouldn’t half of your children be in jail?

Cruz: [Laughing in the idiot’s face] My children are 9 and 11, and I’m sorry that you want to throw a 9 year-old in prison, but at this point, my third-grader plays basketball and softball at her school, so stop playing the nasty [reporter interrupts] no, stop playing the nasty Washington game [reporter interrupts again] attacking a 9 year-old? [lost of crosstalk here]

Reporter: Senator, we have seen reports of a possible one for one trade on witnesses. Would you be open to that idea?

Cruz: In my view, additional witnesses are not necessary. The House Managers have presented their case, and they haven’t come remotely close to meeting their burden of proof. Now, that being said, if the senate later this week when we vote on witnesses decides to go down the road to additional witnesses, I think at a minimum, the most important witness for the senate to hear from is now Hunter Biden. [reporter interrupts] Let another reporter have a chance [talking to the previous idiot]

Reporter: Why don’t you want to hear from John Bolton under oath?

Cruz: I don’t believe the testimony is necessary. The House Managers have a burden of proof. A burden of proof to prove their case. They have fallen woefully short. The standard under the constitution is high crimes and misdemeanors. They have not demonstrated any law was violated, and the President was entirely justified in asking for an investigation concerning corruption in the Ukraine and potentially Hunter Biden and Joe Biden.

At the end of the day, there might have been [lots of crosstalk here before the next idiot reporter asks the idiot reporter question of all time]

Reporter: What about the shadow over the presidency? If you don’t have witness testimony in this trial…

Cruz: [laughing out loud at the idiot hack again] Look, the “shadow over the presidency” is the last several months of sham proceedings in the House, where they only heard from prosecution witnesses, and they ignored the very substantial evidence of corruption with the Vice President, going potentially to the very top of the [Obama] Administration.

And let me – by the way, the Obama Administration pointed out the conflict of interest over and over and over again, and so did the press, until the press decided to defend the House Democrats’ partisan impeachment attack. This has been a sham from the beginning. Presidents have the authority to investigate corruption, and it was overwhelming.

[End]

Thank you, Senator Cruz, for summing it all up so succinctly and clearly. No wonder the media hates you so damn much.

That is all.

Ted Cruz Sends Some Shots Across Multiple Bows in Fox News Interview

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Texas Senator Ted Cruz appeared in a pre-recorded interview with Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures yesterday. In his segment, the Senator lays out how he expects the Senate impeachment trial will proceed, including his clear expectation that the trial will begin “in early January.” So, Sen. Cruz either expects that San Fran Nan Pelosi will relent in her idiotic tactic of withholding the Houses’s imbecilic articles of impeachment, or that Mitch McConnell will simply deem the articles to have been transmitted to the Senate and proceed without her. Oh, how I do hope it will be the latter scenario.

Regardless, a clip of the interview appears below, followed by a verbatim transcript of the Senators remarks:

For those who still prefer to read stuff, here is a Transcript:

Bartiromo: Senator, it is always a pleasure to see you.

Sen. Cruz: Good to be with you, Maria, thank you.

Bartiromo: So, Nancy Pelosi said, after the impeachment, that maybe she will sit on the articles of impeachment before sending it over to you and your colleagues in the Senate. Can she do that?

Sen. Cruz: [Laughing] You know, you can’t make this up. Listen, I think this is a sign of weakness. This is a sign she understands just how weak these articles are. These articles of impeachment that they actually voted on were really an admission of failure.

The House Democrats haven’t even alleged any ‘high crimes and misdemeanors,’ much less proven any. And so now, Pelosi is in a situation where she knows that when it goes to the Senate there’s going to be a fair trial, we’re going to give both sides the opportunity to present their case, we’re going to protect due process. But she also knows that the result of a fair trial is that these impeachment claims are going to be thrown out, because they haven’t met the constitutional standard.

Bartiromo: Would you want to see witnesses in a Senate trial?

Sen. Cruz: I would, but let me tell you how I think it’s likely to play out. The trial will start in early January. It will start with the Chief Justice of the United States swearing in all 100 senators.

It will then shift to the House managers presenting their case – that’ll probably take several days. They’ll stand up, they’ll present evidence, they’ll make arguments.

Then it will shift to the White House, to the defense team for the President making their case. The President’s going to have a full and fair opportunity to defend himself.

It then will shift to questions. Now, here’s where it’s a little weird. I think some people, having seen what happened in the House, they’re expecting in the Senate to see a bunch of Senators asking questions. Well, the Senate impeachment rules prohibit any Senator from speaking in open session, in other words, when the TV cameras are on.

You’re not gonna see Elizabeth Warren and me going 15 rounds on the Senate floor because that’s not allowed. We’re both gonna be sitting quietly at our desks. Now, we can submit questions, but the questions have to be in writing. We can write out the questions, we hand them down, and the Chief Justice asks the questions from the senators.

I think at that point, we are likely to recess and have a discussion. I think one of two things will happen:

One, it is possible that a majority of the Senate will be prepared [to say], let’s move forward, let’s vote, they haven’t met their threshold, they haven’t come close, let’s reject these claims. I think that’s an outcome that could happen.

Secondly, there could well be a procedural fight. Do we need more evidence? Do we need more witnesses? In which case, that question is decided by 51 senators.  Every legal question, the Chief Justice can rule in the first instance, but the Chief Justice can be overruled by 51 senators.

I think John Roberts is very likely to follow the Rhenquist precedent and just defer the procedural questions to the Senate, which means if 51 Republicans agree, we can resolve any legal issue. And to me, that means if the President wants to call Hunter Biden, if the President wants to call the Whistleblower, due process mandates that we allow the President to defend himself, to make his case.

And so, I think we should do so. But, that’s a decision in the first place for the White House and his legal team.

Bartiromo: Based on what you know today, do you expect any Republicans to vote to impeach [remove] in the Senate?

Sen. Cruz: You know, I don’t. It is certainly possible, and there are a couple that could vote that way. But I think anyone voting on the facts, anyone voting on the law, this is a very easy vote.

What they have alleged is not a ‘high crime or misdemeanor.’ There are two articles:

The first article is just this amorphous ‘abuse of power’, which, by the way, is ‘mal-administration.’ It’s literally the term that was rejected in the Constitutional Convention. That’s what they’re alleging. That plainly does not meet the Constitutional threshold.

The second article, though, is orders of magnitude weaker. The second article is ‘obstruction of congress,’ and interestingly enough, people are used to obstruction of justice…

Bartiromo: …Yeah, I’ve never heard of that, of ‘obstruction of congress,’ but I’ve heard of obstruction of power, or obstruction of justice…”

Sen. Cruz: Well, and obstruction of justice is a real crime, it’s a felony, it’s a serious felony…

Bartiromo: …But they have named it ‘obstruction of congress…’

Sen. Cruz:Because they couldn’t prove obstruction of justice. By the way, Bill Clinton was impeached on obstruction of justice; Richard Nixon was going to be impeached on obstruction of justice. But they couldn’t prove obstruction of justice.

The basis for their so-called ‘obstruction of congress’ claim is that the President and aides in the executive asserted privileges. That’s it.

For example, when they wanted John Bolton to testify – John Bolton, National Security Advisor to the President – his lawyer went to a federal district court and said, the House has asked me to testify, the White House is asserting executive privilege: Your honor, what do I do? Judge, I’ve got two conflicting demands here: I will do what you tell me to do.

You know what the House Democrats did? They said, ‘nevermind.’ They just backed away. They didn’t subpoena Bolton, they didn’t litigate it.

Remember, the Nixon case was litigated all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. The U.S. Supreme Court, at the end of the day, ordered the Nixon White House to hand over the White House tapes, and I think two days later, Nixon resigned. That’s how you actually fight these matters.

The House Democrats didn’t do that. Instead, their assertion is that simply claiming the privilege is an impeachable offense. If that were true, all 45 presidents going back to George Washington, every one of them would have committed impeachable offenses. That’s just laughable.

Bartiromo: This is a new precedent – it sure is.

[End]

Now, the thing to remember about Ted Cruz is that he is truly a Constitutional scholar. As a former Solicitor General of Texas, Senator Cruz argued nine cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. He understands the Constitution and he understands better than most current Senators the rules and laws surrounding impeachment and removal of a President.

Cruz and the other 52 GOP senators have also spent much of the past two weeks in meetings and calls with Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in an apparently successful effort to reach consensus on how to conduct the Senate trial. So, when Cruz states flatly that he expects the trial to begin “in early January,” that statement carries a lot of weight, and might indeed mean that Leader McConnell plans to convene the trial regardless of Pelosi’s cynical tactics.

I personally think that Cruz’s reminder that any procedural decision initially made by our very unreliable Chief Justice can be overruled by 51 Republican votes is meant as a shot across Justice Roberts’ bow. It is likely an indication that Cruz is confident that there are at least 51 GOP senators who are tired of this crap dragging on for weeks on end, and who are intent upon bringing it to as fast a conclusion as possible.  If that is the case, then Justice Roberts might want to avoid embarrassing himself by being overruled by 51 senators, and just play the case straight.

This interview, and the messages Senator Cruz – who remember, was Donald Trump’s chief competitor for the 2016 GOP nomination and who still harbors presidential ambitions of his own – sends within it, are a very important marker in the impeachment debate. This was not just a courtesy interview by the Senator, and that’s good news for America.

That is all.

Did Nikki Haley Just Reveal the Leaders of the 25th Amendment Push?

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Tired of all this #WINNING yet? Yeah, neither am I. – For what seems like the 16,000th time during President Donald Trump’s term in office, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at yet another record high on Monday, as the Trump economy just keeps roaring along. Democrats and fake journalists everywhere were doubling up on their depression meds as the markets closed.

When Nikki Haley speaks, people listen. – When people start surveying the GOP landscape post-Trump, whether that comes in January after being removed from the the presidency by the Senate (which is not likely to happen), in January 2021 after a loss in the 2020 election (also not in the cards) or in January 2025 following the completion of his second term in office (bingo!), the survey inevitably lands to the name of Nikki Haley as one of his most likely successors.

Other names also arise, of course: Names like Mike Pence and Mike Pompeo and Ted Cruz, and the less obvious names like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan and even Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw. Lindsey Graham, with his thrice-weekly appearances on one Fox News evening program or another, is obviously angling for another run at the gig, as are Rand Paul and even Kanye West. But inevitably, the name of Nikki Haley always comes up.

She is, after all, a former successful governor of South Carolina, and a person who, after not really being on board with the Trump Train during the 2016 campaign, created a very high profile for herself as Trump’s very loyal, very aggressive and very outspoken UN Ambassador. Although her record as Governor was decidedly mixed from a conservative perspective, perhaps more than any of Trump’s cabinet-level officials, Haley has stood out as the most aggressive advocate for his international policies.

Thus it is that anything she has to say about the goings-on inside White House during her two-year tenure is given a lot of weight by most Trump supporters. In a Sunday interview with Kelly O’Donnell of CBS, Haley basically accused both then-Chief of Staff John Kelly and then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson of rank insubordination, even though she said they claimed that was not their intent.

Here’s the key outtake:

Haley recounts a closed-door encounter with then-White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson: “Kelly and Tillerson confided in me that when they resisted the president, they weren’t being insubordinate, they were trying to save the country … Tillerson went on to tell me the reason he resisted the president’s decisions was because, if he didn’t, people would die. This was how high the stakes were, he and Kelly told me. We are doing the best we can do to save the country, they said. We need you to work with us and help us do it. This went on for over an hour.”

O’Donnell asked, “You memorialized that conversation? It definitely happened?”

“It absolutely happened,” said Haley. “And instead of saying that to me, they should’ve been saying that to the president, not asking me to join them on their sidebar plan. It should’ve been, ‘Go tell the president what your differences are, and quit if you don’t like what he’s doing.’ But to undermine a president is really a very dangerous thing. And it goes against the Constitution, and it goes against what the American people want. And it was offensive.”

[We asked them to respond. John Kelly tells “Sunday Morning”: “If by resistance and stalling she means putting a staff process in place … to ensure the (president) knew all the pros and cons of what policy decision he might be contemplating so he could make an informed decision, then guilty as charged.”]

Undermining a president from the inside is indeed a very dangerous thing, as Haley notes, and her accusation against Kelly and Tillerson rings true given everything else we know about the two men and their behavior while serving in those positions. Tillerson repeatedly made his personal disdain for the President and his lack of support for Trump policies related to North Korea, China and other parts of the world very clear while serving as SOS, which is the main reason why his tenure in the office was so short. Kelly’s first move after moving into his Chief of Staff role was not to go after the myriad leakers inside the White House, but rather to cut the President off from his most loyal supporters and start to systematically force them out of their jobs.

Rumors have run rampant for more than two years now that both men were willing participants in the mid-2017 plot to dummy up a rationale for removing Trump from office under the 25th Amendment, a plot we know beyond any reasonable doubt that Rod Rosenstein was a part of. If you believe in the whole “where there’s smoke there’s fire” paradigm, it seems extremely likely that those persistent rumors must have some basis in reality.

If Haley’s contention about the approach by Tillerson and Kelly is accurate – and there is little reason to believe that it is not – then it would be consistent with a move that would be made as a part of a larger 25th amendment effort targeting the President. Haley’s contention here, and cryptic use of the term “sidebar plan,” is troubling in the extreme, and Tillerson’s refusal to even respond to it does not reflect well on him. Kelly’s response, which does not in any way address the accusation, may be even worse.

As mentioned earlier, Haley’s interview – promoting her new book – is also a not-so-subtle attempt to keep herself in the public eye, ready to quickly move in the unlikely event of Trump’s actual removal by the Senate. The following passage reveals that part of her personal agenda:

Haley insists she has no immediate plans to run for any office, including the presidency, and as she departed the Trump administration last year she said, “I can promise you what I’ll be doing is campaigning for this one.”

She told O’Donnell, “A year is a long time in politics. It really is a lifetime in politics. And so, I think what’s best for me is take it a year at a time and see what happens.”

With her new book, lucrative speaking engagements, and a seat on the corporate board of Boeing, Nikki Haley acknowledges there are still chapters to be written:  “I’m too young to stop fighting. I’ll always be out there. I’ll always use the power of my voice for what I believe is good.”

So, whether the jumping off point becomes early 2020, early 2021 or the 2024 election campaign, you can be sure that Nikki Haley will be vying to become the face of the GOP in the wake of the Trump presidency. Lining herself up as this President’s most loyal and vocal supporter helps her cause immensely.

That is all.

Why Stacey Abrams and Beto O’Rourke Won’t Go Home and Run for the Senate

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

So, why aren’t the Democrat Party’s favorite “rising star” loooooosers running for the senate in 2020?– That is a question that is on a lot of people’s minds today, especially in Georgia and Texas.

In case you missed it yesterday, Georgia Republican Senator Johnny Isakson announced he would resign his seat at the end of this year, meaning that Governor Brian Kemp will be able to appoint his successor. However, although Isakson would not have been up for re-election until 2022, Georgia law requires the holding of a special election in November, 2020 to determine who will get to serve the final two years of his term. That means that both Georgia senate seats will be on the ballot in 2020, as Republican incumbent David Perdue is also up for re-election.

All of which makes many Georgia Democrats long for the second coming of their beloved loooooooser, Stacey Abrams. Abrams, if you’ll remember, lost her run for governor to Kemp last November by 56,000 votes, but has been running around the country ever since then claiming to be the rightful governor of Georgia. That utterly false claim has been echoed by pretty much every prominent Democrat in the country, everyone of whom fully knows they’re lying.

But hey, they’re Democrats. That’s what they do.

Abrams has been roundly characterized by our fake news media as one of the Democrats’ most promising “rising stars.” She was given the role of responding to President Trump’s State of the Union Address, a role in which she proved to be a rank mediocrity. She has been rumored to be a shoe-in to be Joe Biden’s running mate in 2020, assuming the nation’s Unfrozen Caveman Senator still knows who he is a year from now.

So, you’ll have to excuse Georgia Democrats today if they’re all sitting around wondering, “Where’s our Stacey?” They’ve got not one, but two open senate seats now, and Stacey’s nowhere to be found. Indeed, within moments of Isakson’s announcement on Wednesday, an Abrams spokesperson made it very clear that “Leader Abrams” would not be running for his seat, just as she will not be running for Perdue’s seat.

The spokesperson gave us no idea as to what Abrams is actually the “Leader” of, other than her nascent effort to create even more vote fraud opportunities for Democrats in Georgia and all over the country. The spokesperson also did not elaborate on the reasons why Abrams refuses to run.

But the answer is clear: Abrams and her fellow Democrats cleared out every cemetery and drove every illegal alien in Georgia to the polls in 2018, and she still got clobbered by Kemp. If she thought she could win one of these senate seats, she would run. But she has no confidence that she could win either seat, or indeed any statewide election in Georgia.

Abrams also knows one of the most rigid laws of politics: a person can lose one statewide election in any given state and live to fight another day; indeed, you can even be your party’s fantasy hero. But lose two statewide elections in a span of two years, and your career as a viable political figure is well and truly done.

She’s a Democrat, so she’d much rather be the “Leader” of the next iteration of the famous voter-fraud factory ACORN for the next few years and see how things shape up in 2024, 2026 and beyond. It’s the only smart play she has.

We see the exact same dynamic at work with Irish Bob O’Rourke in Texas. O’Rourke’s pathetic presidential campaign has been dead in the water for four solid months now despite his continuing very strong fundraising efforts, yet he still plugs along, embarrassing himself on the national stage 3 or 4 times each week.

Meanwhile, incumbent Republican Senator John Cornyn is up for re-election in 2020, and he has yet to draw anything resembling a credible opponent from the Texas Democrat Party. Of course, that’s mainly because Irish Bob is the only thing resembling a credible opponent the Texas Democrat Party actually has on its roster.

But how credible would he be this time around? It’s obviously a question the clownish ex-congressman runs around in his own mind these days. We have to remember that, while he managed to come within 3% of beating Ted Cruz in 2018, Sen. Cruz is far less popular and far more controversial in Texas than Cornyn is. Running against Cornyn would be much more like challenging Gov. Greg Abbott, who easily won his own re-election campaign in 2018 by a comfortable 12 points.

And what about money? Would Irish Bob be able to raise another $80 million from all of his California supporters for a run against Cornyn? You can bet Cornyn won’t get caught flat-footed on that money situation like Cruz did last year, when O’Rourke was able to out-spend him by a 3 to 1 margin.

So again, Irish Bob was able to remain viable after losing one statewide election, so viable that, as late as January, it was reasonable to consider him among the favorites to win the Democrat nomination. But go back and lose a second statewide election, and Irish Bob would have a very hard time even going back to El Paso and trying to win back his old congressional seat.

So that’s why you folks in Georgia and Texas won’t be seeing the Democrat Party’s favorite looooooooooooser “rising stars” on the 2020 ballot. Far better to to be a fantasy “star” and live to fight another day than to be a two-time statewide loooooooooser with nowhere to go but down.

That is all.

The Curious Potential Bombshell Case of Patrick Byrne

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

I honestly don’t know what to make of this, so I’m just going to let you watch and judge for yourselves. – Overstock founder Patrick Byrne resigned his CEO position at the company on Thursday, and shortly thereafter appeared on Fox Business’s Varney & Co. program. What he had to say about his alleged involvement in several FBI domestic espionage efforts against various political campaigns would, if true, amount to grounds for scattering the raging dumpster fire agency to the winds.

Here’s the clip of the interview:

The interview is too long to do a complete transcript, but here are the highlights:

Byrne claims the following:

  • “Because 17 years ago, I helped them crack a murder…they knew me, and they called me in 2015, 2016 to assist in something. I didn’t know who the orders came from, but I assisted.
  • “I took some orders that seemed a little fishy, didn’t know who the orders came from, but last summer while watching television, I figured out …that the name of the man who sent me the orders was a guy named Peter Strzok.”
  • Question: Are you working with the Attorney General? “Let me be clear: I’m not working with anybody.  The last time I talked to a federal office was five months ago. I explained everything to them between April 5 and April 30, and then I disappeared.”
  • “Bill Barr – there’s gonna be a sculpture of granite of this guy somewhere – I couldn’t come forward for three years until there was rule of law in this country. I wasn’t gonna come forward when this guy Jeff Sessions…Truman said of an opponent I can carve a better man out of a banana, that’s how Americans should feel about Jeff Sessions.”
  • ” Now, we have rule of law and I came forward to them in April. There are other whistle blowers within the federal bureaucracy with similar stories.
  • The bottom line is there’s a big coverup, there was political espionage conducted against Hillary Clinton, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and Donald Trump.”
  • ” I was in the room when it happened. I was a part of it. I thought I was doing law enforcement. Sorry.”

That’s all in the first 4:30 of the clip. Byrne does not get more specific about exactly what activities he undertook for Strzok and the FBI, but goes onto say that he has told the whole story to Barr and that his information has been rolled into U.S. Attorney John Durham’s investigation into the whole Spygate scandal. Byrne says he resigned because he expects to soon become very publicly embroiled in the scandal as the Horowitz Report on FISA abuse is rolled out and the results of Durham’s investigation begin to bear fruit.

Byrne in fact claims that Barr’s decision to appoint Durham on May 13 was in part motivated by the story he delivered to Barr on April 30. Byrne also claims that he decided to resign now after consulting with his “guru” Warren Buffet, who advised him to do it now because if he didn’t, the Deep State would use his company to “grind me down.”

Byrne appeared again on Fox News later with Martha Macallum, but did not reveal any more details.

Another very interesting facet of Byrne’s statements is his contention that another reason why he was approached by the FBI was the fact that he was carrying on an affair with Russian lawyer Maria Butina, who has popped up in several places during the whole “Russia Collusion” fantasy play.

Readers may remember that Butina was arrested by Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s thugs on charges that she was a Russian agent. After reaching a plea deal amid claims she had become a “cooperating witness” with the Mueller team, she had curiously been held in maximum security isolation until May 9, when she was suddenly moved to a white collar facility. Byrne claims that that move was also made due to his testimony to Barr.

No further charges against anyone have come from Butina’s supposed cooperation with Mueller’s thugs. Byrne’s story, combined with this curiously harsh treatment of a “cooperating” witness makes one wonder if Mueller’s people had isolated Butina in order to prevent her from making any public statements.

The clear outlier in all of this, however, is Byrne’s contention that the FBI wasn’t just spying on Trump and other Republican candidates, but on the Hillary Clinton campaign as well. While such a massive domestic spying operation within Obama’s corrupted FBI and Justice Department is certainly not difficult to imagine, given everything else we now know, the motivation they might have had for spying on the Pantsuit Princess is a mystery until we have more data.

If Byrne is to be believed, we will begin getting that additional data from Horowitz, Durham and Barr after Labor Day.

After so many previous false promises of such damaging new data, all I can say is that I will believe it when I see it.

That is all.

Project Veritas Exposes How Google Gives Billions of in-Kind Value to the Democrat Party

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

The folks at Project Veritas have done God’s work one more time. – This time they have gotten the smoking gun on Google’s Orwellian efforts to not only control Americans’ political opinions, but to actually control their entire thought processes to favor the Democrat Party and its candidates. Here is the video in its entirety:

The video features two people: The first is Jen Gennai, head of Google’s “Responsible Innovation” team – an Orwellian name in and of itself, given what they actually do – bragging about how her team and indeed, the entire company are working to fix their search results in a way that will help “avoid another Trump situation” happening in the 2020 elections. The second is an anonymous whistle blower who who further describes the kinds of things Google has been doing in order to influence public opinion in the Democrat Party’s favor.

Here are some key quotes from Gennai [all emphasis is added]:

“The reason we launched our A.I. principles is because people were not putting that line in the sand, that they were not saying what’s fair and what’s equitable so we’re like, well we are a big company, we’re going to say it. The people who voted for the current president do not agree with our definition of fairness.”

“Elizabeth Warren is saying we should break up Google. And like, I love her but she’s very misguided, like that will not make it better it will make it worse, because all these smaller companies who don’t have the same resources that we do will be charged with preventing the next Trump situation, it’s like a small company cannot do that.”

“We all got screwed over in 2016, again it wasn’t just us, it was — the people got screwed over, the news media got screwed over, like, everybody got screwed over — so we’re rapidly been like, what happened there and how do we prevent it from happening again. We’re also training our algorithms, like, if 2016 happened again, would we have, would the outcome be different?”

Gennai, of course, responded exactly as all those who get caught red-handed by Project Veritas always do: by claiming Veritas “selectively edited” and “distorted” her comments, and took them “out of context.” In other words, she lied, which is what these people invariably do.

In a hearing yesterday afternoon on Capitol Hill, Texas Senator Ted Cruz grilled another executive from Google, a woman who did her best imitation of Sgt. Schulz from Hogan’s Heroes, claiming to “know nothing! nothing!” about literally everything Cruz asked her about, including the Veritas video and damaging internal Google documents that have recently been made public as well. Here’s that clip:

Now, I have previously discussed the likelihood that the Trump Administration and congress would be going after Google and other social media giants under the nation’s laws governing anti-trust and restraint of trade – yesterday’s senate hearing is a part of advancing that effort. These companies – all of them, not just Google – have long obviously been rigging their various algorithms to favor the political left in general and the Democrat Party specifically, because it is the political left in our country, and getting lefter all the time.

These companies have also long been discriminating against anyone who expresses conservative viewpoints on their platforms, outright banning many, and “shadow-banning” others so that only a small portion of their followers can actually see their content. The latter has been done repeatedly to me on both Twitter and Facebook.

This practice and bias, both of which are rampant across all big social media platforms and growing more ubiquitous over time, are clear violations of the law, violations that should threaten these companies’ very licenses to remain in business. Senator Cruz points directly to this in his first comment on the video above:

“As you know, Google enjoys a special exemption under section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. The predicate for that immunity was that Google and other big tech media companies would be neutral public forums.”

The other aspect of what these companies are all doing is one that should come under review by the Federal Elections Commission and ultimately the courts. That is the obvious, blatant fact that their practice of discriminating against conservative political thought and intentionally attempting to brainwash their users to support Democrat political candidates without any real question at all amounts to a massive in-kind political contribution, one that should have to be reported under and governed by the federal campaign contribution laws.

Google’s now-documented practices alone have already been worth literally billions of dollars to the Democrat Party, with billions more in-kind value coming in from Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Youtube, et al. This is one of the largest abuses of the process in American history, and it simply must be addressed.

That is all.

Texas Dems Clamor for Their Precious Beto to Run Back Home

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

There’s a senate race in Texas, and the Democrats have no viable candidates. – Texas Dems floated Wendy Davis’s name as a potential challenger to incumbent Senator John Cornyn back in March, and boy did that one come up a crapper. No one, it seems, not even the ghouls at the Texas chapter of Planned Parenthood, want to return to the days of “Abortion Barbie.”

But what are the Democrats to do? Who are they going to field as an alternative to Davis who might scratch the 40% mark against Cornyn? San Antonio Congressman Joaquin Castro – the twin brother of presidential hopeful Julian Castro – was approached, but he knows a losing proposition when he sees one. The Dems could try to run the former Dallas Sheriff who ran for governor last year, but hey, everyone’s already forgotten her name, me included. So that’s not a likely winner. You might think that Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner would make a strong challenger to Cornyn, but right now it’s looking like he’s going to have a tough time just getting re-elected to his current job this coming November.

So, what are the Texas Democrats to do? They have to run somebody in the race, don’t they? Well, sure they do, and that’s why their eyes have more recently turned back to their heartthrob from El Paso, Irish Bob O’Rourke.

Hey, they’re thinking, you’re sitting there at about 3% in the Democratic presidential horse race right now, your campaign has become a national joke even among many Democrats, the fawning fake reporters who all wanted to be your girl- or boyfriend last fall are now all making goo-goo eyes at the mayor of a mid-size town in Indiana, and your chances of making a comeback on that national stage are roughly the same chance Benny Hill has of becoming the next James Bond. So, here’s an idea – why not come back to Texas and redeem yourself for that loss to Ted Cruz last fall?

Sounds like a peachy idea, right? Sure, it does. Let our precious Beto return triumphantly to Texas and…er…ok, well, he’s sort of have to just skulk on back to Texas with his tail between his legs, but still. Texas is where his home is, where his heart is, kind of, if you ignore the fact that he has taken positions that would destroy the state’s economy by killing the oil and gas industry, take away all of our guns, and open the southern border even more than it already is to the human-and-drug-smuggling that is causing so much misery here.

With friends like Beto, Texans need no enemies.

But, boy, do Texas Democrats want him back, regardless. When Quinnipiac polled them in early June on the subject, fully 60% of them said they want Irish Bob to challenge Cornyn while just 27% said they want him to continue his joke of a presidential bid. Texas Democrats, it seems, do love their political jokes, but they just want them to run for lower offices.

So, come on home, Irish Bob. Come back to Texas where all the fake reporters at the Austin American-Statesman and Texas Tribune can fall madly in love with you again. And fall in love again they will, since you would be running against a detested Republican instead of a bunch of fellow Democrats.

You’ve made an ass of yourself on the national stage long enough; come back to Texas where you will be praised by all the local news outlets for making an ass of yourself at home. All that Hollywood money that you’ve been unable to collect for your presidential campaign is just itching to pour back into a senate race here.

This is what Texas Democrats are imagining, anyway.

To Texas Dems, O’Rourke is like the home town favorite son who rejects their pleas to stay home and make their town a better place, choosing instead to move off to the big city to make his fortune there. Now that he’s failed in that quest, they’re wanting him to come back home to recapture that magic.

The problem with such returns is that, in real life, they seldom work out too well. By the time the favorite son returns home, everyone back home has heard about his big city failures and his former glow has lost its luster. To make matters worse, a whole new crop of other favorite sons have graduated from the local high school and some of them have decided not to leave.

There is no doubt that Irish Bob O’Rourke captured a sort of political magic that we seldom witness in his race against Cruz last year. But his was a flash-in-the-pan sort of magic that dissipates as quickly as it was conjured up, and is almost never recaptured once it’s gone.

Texas Democrats are clamoring for their precious Beto to come back home right now, but are likely to end up being extremely disappointed in the results should he decide to do so.

That is all.

About that Nervous Nancy…

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

A killshot for the ages. – Don’t look now, but President Donald Trump has leveled what is going to be a very, very effective killshot at Nancy Pelosi. He tagged her with it during yesterday’s interview with Fox’s Laura Ingraham, and followed it up this morning with this pair of tweets:

“Nervous Nancy.” How perfect is that? Think about it: What political figure are you familiar with who appears to be more constantly, overtly nervous than San Fran Nan?

Here’s a great example from the 2018 State of the Union address – watch her working her mouth so nervously that it looks like she has a gerbil running around in there:

Or how about this video of her stammering and fidgeting through a typical press availability?:

This could go on and on, because these are very typical public performances by the doddering Speaker.

So, the first requirement of an effective killshot – that it is accurate and cannot be proven to be untrue – is firmly in place.

The next requirement – equally important here – is that the killshot be something about which the target will become self-conscious. Pelosi is already so self-conscious about her fidgety, stammering, speech-slurring public appearance that she and her media allies just spent an entire week attempting to get Facebook to ban one video of her on the utterly false claim that it was “doctored.”

Trump’s tagging her with the “Nervous Nancy” nickname will inevitably result in Pelosi becoming extremely self-conscious about controlling her myriad nervous tics, most likely to such a point that they will only become even more self-evident. The new nickname will just as inevitably cause Pelosi’s target audiences – the fake news media and the public – to pay close attention to her tics and comment on them.

Back in mid-March, the President issued a killshot on Irish Bob O’Rourke, as follows:

“Well, I think he’s got a lot of hand movement. I’ve never seen so much hand movement. I said, ‘Is he crazy or is that just the way he acts?’” Trump said at the White House. “I watched him a little while this morning, during I assume it was some kind of a news conference, and I’ve actually never seen anything quite like it.”

That one was so immediately effective that Irish Bob was filmed the very next day answering a reporter’s questions with his normally-waving arms seemingly glued to his sides. O’Rourke has basically never recovered, as his poll numbers have fallen from around 10% support to about 3% in the wake of the killshot. The President didn’t tag him with a nickname, but his remarks about Irish Bob caused the public to take notice of just how weird and un-serious he truly is.

During the 2016 GOP nominating process, we saw the very same process take place with “Little Marco” Rubio, Jeb! “Low Energy” Bush, “Annoying” John Kasich, and others. The “Lyin’ Ted” Cruz moniker was not nearly so effective given Cruz is most often demonstrably not lying, but by the time Trump tagged him with that nickname he was so far ahead in the race that he didn’t need a killshot related to Cruz in any event.

“Nervous Nancy” has all the hallmarks of being an immediately effective, potentially devastating killshot, mainly because Nancy is indeed extremely nervous pretty much all the time, and has no real means of demonstrating otherwise. I’m betting it will be so effective in quickly diminishing Pelosi’s public credibility that even members of her own caucus in the House will be remarking on the Speaker’s nervousness within a few weeks.

Won’t that be fun?

That is all.

Beto O’Rourke Must Turn on the Media that Invented Him

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Some free advice for Beto O’Rourke. – I suppose that I should preface this long piece by reminding readers that I have no love for Irish Bob O’Rourke. In fact, what I really hold for him more than anything else is contempt. The substance-devoid empty suit from El Paso finds himself today in a predicament of his own making, a situation in which his once-promising presidential campaign is mired in weak also-ran status in a crowded field that is occupied by more capable and more-clever candidates.

Irish Bob’s situation is compounded by the reality that the elite, northeastern fake news media establishment that literally put the presidential bug in his ear by fawning all over him for the last six months of 2018 has now turned on him because he waited too long to bend the knee and consummate its courtship of him. Since he finally announced his candidacy in March – the fickle nature of the fake media demanded he do so in December, January at the outside – he has been treated as a stepchild, hit by a series of negative stories and given the back of the hand by elitist media outlets angry that he hasn’t shown up on their doorsteps with a bouquet of roses in-hand and tickets to that night’s Knicks game for them.

A friend pointed me to a really good May 15 piece posted by Vanity Fair titled “How the Media Fell Out of Love with Beto O’Rourke,” which interestingly sounds like a title we would use here at the Campaign Update. We’ve certainly come close to it in the past, and written on the same basic theme, albeit in a more sarcastic way.

The Vanity Fair piece is written from an obviously more friendly perspective towards O’Rourke, but chronicles the same basic story we’ve chronicled here. It is very long, but a really good read and I encourage everyone to read it in full.

Here are some outtakes I want to emphasize this morning:

Since announcing his campaign for president in mid-March, just two months ago, O’Rourke has gone from the media darling who almost beat Ted Cruz in Texas to the designated punching bag of the pundit class. Harry Siegel of the Daily Beast called Beto a “manchild” on Twitter, while sharing a lacerating piece from the columnist Margaret Carlson, who wrote about “her unscientific poll asking every woman I see” and the conclusion that O’Rourke, the married father of three who enjoys making Sunday morning pancakes for his family, reminds them of “the worst boyfriend they ever had.”

Oof.

The press commentary swirling around O’Rourke has been like this for months—mockery first, re-tweets second, sober analysis third.

“A presidential campaign is several universes away from a statewide campaign,” said Republican strategist Kevin Madden, a former adviser on both of Mitt Romney’s presidential campaigns. “It’s 10 times harder. The scrutiny is just so much greater. Your worst day on Capitol Hill or in the statehouse or on a Senate campaign is three times worse every day on a presidential campaign…You can’t escape the media. You have to have a plan to deal with them.”

O’Rourke is trying to repair the damage this week, stopping by New York greenrooms that’s he’s so far been shunning, making appearances on The Rachel Maddow Show and The View. And as he did during his Senate run, he’s also booked an appearance at a CNN town hall, a format that’s proven to be a ratings and fund-raising bonanza for candidates like Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttigieg.

So, those capture the basic theme, which is: 1) The media fell in love with “Beto” last year and made him as a senatorial candidate; 2) Beto tried to mostly ignore them early in his presidential campaign, taking it right to the grassroots instead; 3) The fickle media elitists turned on him in a typically vicious manner; and 4) Beto is now dutifully making the rounds on bended knee.

But it’s probably all too late, if the goal is to have the media elitists go back to loving their former flame. The damage has been done, and it’s hard to rekindle the kind of media love Irish Bob received in 2018. Besides, in 2018 he was running against one of the most media-hated Republican in the nation; now, he’s running against a pack of beloved fellow Democrats. Making the rounds and passing out Knicks tickets probably isn’t gonna undo this damage.

To me, the key for a possible O’Rourke comeback lies in one passage a little over halfway through the piece:

“I guess I still haven’t heard the Ted Kennedy answer from him,” said former South Carolina legislator Boyd Brown, an early O’Rourke supporter in the primary state. Brown was invoking Kennedy’s devastating failure to answer CBS anchor Roger Mudd’s question “Why do you want to be president?” days before his 1980 campaign launch. Still, Brown, who is 32, told me that O’Rourke “personifies” and “embodies” the “views of my generation,” pointing to his climate-change plan as the most ambitious of any Democrat running. But he also bristled at the national press for harping on O’Rourke’s personality and missteps. “Who the hell wants to go on TV and get talked over and lectured by a bunch of D.C. and New York types? I’m old enough to remember when friends of mine in the journalism profession would go out of their way not to show bias. Now it feels like they have cheapened the overall profession because they want a lot of likes and re-tweets on Twitter. Reporters want to be woke on Twitter and get their 15 minutes of fame. It’s devalued journalism.”

You hear that, Irish Bob? Your natural base voters don’t really have any more use for the Margaret Carlsons of the world than I do. They have different reasons for that dislike, but it is there and it is simmering just below the surface, waiting for you or some other candidate in the race to tap into it.

Here’s the thing: O’Rourke is sitting there at 3-5% in the polls, mired in the middle of a field crowded with politicians who are just as craven and ambitious as he is. It is in that millieu that he must find a way to differentiate himself, to stand out in that crowd.

Is he going to get that done by dutifully doing the same lame appearances on all the daytime and late night talk shows and CNN townhalls that everyone else is doing? Is he going to do that by announcing a “Climate Change” plan that wastes one or two trillion dollars more than these 7 rivals, but one or two trillion less than those other 10 to 12 rivals?

The answer is obvious. That’s just spinning your skateboard wheels, waving your arms and failing.

But ask yourself this: Which Democrat candidate right now is loudly criticizing any media outlet other than the standard Democrat bogeyman, Fox News?

There’s your opportunity to stand out. Get out there and talk about how you’re a Texan from Flyover Country, from the heart of our nation, fighting against the elite northeastern media. Talk about how these snarky fake journalists are devaluing their profession in their never-ending grasp for more re-tweets and followers. Talk about how you are suddenly the outsider in this race, fighting for the interests of the little guy against the elite media and your party’s establishment, which want to tilt the playing field in favor of Party regulars like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren, elitists favoring fellow elitists.

In other words, Irish Bob, if you really want to stand out among this crowd of pandering, groveling, hack politicians, you need to start sounding a lot like…wait for it…Donald J. Trump, circa 2015.

Mr. Brown has given you some really sound advice in that Vanity Fair piece, and Mr. Trump has already shown you the way. It may or may not work, but it’s really the only chance you have remaining at this point.

Are you smart enough to take that chance?

That is all.

Meet the New Beto, Same as the Old Beto

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Today’s Public Service Announcement! – The “World’s Fastest Train” has been unveiled in Japan, y’all! Guess what? It is designed to sail along at speeds up to … wait for it… 224 miles per hour! Which is, lessee here…. almost half as fast as the average airliner. Almost. Oh, and it won’t be operational until the year 2030, which is coincidentally the year before Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tells us we’re all going to burn up and die if we don’t get rid of air travel and replace it millions of miles of rail lines.

Dear Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other fans of her appeal to abject nitwits, the Green New Deal: This dog don’t hunt. Just thought I’d remind you. Plus, it’s stupid-looking. Seriously, it looks like something out of a 1960s-era cartoon:

Dubbed the Alfa-X, it is capable of reaching speeds of up to 224 mph and consists of ten carriages. Its sleek silver design is matched by its incredible long and pointed nose which stretches for 72 feet n front of it (pictured)

Don’t look now, but Irish Bob O’Rourke is about to “reintroduce” himself again. – But the crucial question is, will the mental teenagers in our fake news media fall in love with their former heartthrob one more time?

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, text

The smart money says ‘no’ – it’s really hard to recreate the magic of that first high school crush. Once the bad breakup occurs, there is rarely any going back.

After Irish Bob let it be known late last week that he plans to “launch” his flagging presidential campaign one more time, I’ve been watching to see which U.S. national publication would be the first to do yet another fawning “profile” of him, complete with nasty comments about Ted Cruz, descriptions of El Paso and/or West Texas as “dusty”, misrepresentations about the origins of the fake nickname he gave to himself, and the required comparisons to some Kennedy or another. Would it be Vanity Fair one more time? Might Rolling Stone jump in again? How about the New York Times or the Washington Post? They’ve all done it before – would they find the waters to be still warm and give their ex-boyfriend another date to the local Pizza Hut?

Uh, no. As it turns out, the O’Rourke campaign apparently was unable to even catch coffee at Starbucks with any of its fake journalist exes, having to resort instead to grabbing a sandwich at Wichy Wich with some reporter from the UK Guardian. And what a soggy sandwich it turns out to be, which is only fitting for such a horrifically-run campaign.

Oh, the piece has the required “dusty” reference contained in literally every profile ever done about Irish Bob, when it describes El Paso as “the dusty, sunbaked border town in Texas where he was born”. The writer even goes so far as to outright lie about the fake nickname, calling O’Rourke “the tall white guy with the funny first name” in the piece’s opening paragraph. My goodness, the piece even makes the jump to include a quote from one of Irish Bob’s teenage flames (no doubt referred to him by the O’Rourke campaign), someone named Maggie Asfahani, who makes her living as – guess what? – a writer!  Because of course she does.

As if it is helpful, Asfahani says she is responsible for the famous photo of Irish Bob wearing a dress in a promo for his punk band, Foss: “I want to put on the record, that is my dress he’s wearing,” she said.

Oh.

Image result for beto in a dress

No doubt the O’Rourke campaign had longed for the standard puff piece that their candidate has become used to receiving from the national U.S. media and Texas-based outlets like the Texas Tribune and Houston Chronicle, but this one does not fit the U.S. media’s cut-n-paste mold. There is no comparison to anyone named Kennedy, and the Guardian’s piece is otherwise a fairly objective recital of O’Rourke’s political history and inconsistencies.

Not the launch – or re-launch – our hero was seeking.

Like everything else Irish Bob has done since losing his Texas senate race against Senator Cruz last November, this “re-introduction” comes too late, and displays nothing more prominently than a singular lack of situational awareness on this part.

In politics, it is crucial for a candidate to strike while the iron is hot, an aspect of the game that Donald Trump understands better than any national figure since Bill Clinton. Last November, the media’s best boyfriend could have made himself into an instant front-runner in the Democrat nomination race by announcing his candidacy the day after his loss.

Yes, doing that would have been ‘too soon’ and ‘presumptuous’ according to the conventional wisdom. But O’Rourke’s image at that time was made by being presumptuous and going against the conventional grain. By dawdling around and waiting to announce his campaign in March, he traded that image for one of being indecisive and unreliable, which is pretty much his life’s history.

And that’s it – he can’t get that back. The opportunity to stand out in the race is now gone – the field is too crowded and the fickle teen-mentality media has moved on to other crushes. If you want a comparison to 2016 and the crowded GOP field that sought the nomination, Irish Bob is this cycle’s Scott Walker, the “hot” candidate who everyone thought at one point would be that year’s BIG DEAL, but never was.

Walker left the 2016 race before it ever actually even got to 2016, ending his dead-broke candidacy in September of 2015, after just two months of debates in which he had utterly failed to make a good impression. Irish Bob is probably too self-absorbed and clueless to make a similarly-fast exit from the stage, but he might as well.

He’s done.

That is all.

How March 15, 2019 Turned Out to be the Ides of Beto

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Just don’t call it Jeb!II, ‘cuz that looks funny. – Just days after his 2016 campaign’s Super PAC was hit with a huge fine for taking more than $1.3 million in illegal contributions from Chinese interests, Jeb! Bush was on CNN (because of course he was on CNN) saying that someone (hint, hint) ought to challenge President Donald Trump for the GOP nomination in 2020.

Gosh, who would that be, Jeb!? Why, what Republican out there would have the ability to raise something like, oh, I don’t know, $150 million or so from U.S. and Chinese interests to fritter away in a hopeless effort to challenge a hugely-successful sitting President from his own party?

What prominent Republican is so filled with hubris and lacking in anything substantive to do with the rest of his life that he would be willing to take on the mantle of the rapidly-dying #NeverTrump nitwit faction of the GOP in such a Quixotic quest? Even better, what prominent Republican has a last name that every American voter immediately recognizes thanks to a family legacy of ex-Presidents and his having tossed away $150 million in American and Chinese currency during the 2016 nominating battle?

Hey, I know who that guy is – he’s Jeb! And the great thing is, Jeb! could even promise to name Paul Ryan as his running mate, since Ryan’s got nothing better to do right now, either. That worked out so well for Mitt Romney in 2012, after all. Maybe even call him Paul!, because that worked out so well for Jeb!, didn’t it?

“Jeb!Paul!2020!” The bumper stickers practically name themselves!

Ok, that’s too many exclamation points – time to move on.

Dear Irish Bob: Your window of opportunity was January 1. You missed it. – Back in November, I told you all that I fully expected Robert Francis O’Rourke to be the Democrats’ 2020 nominee for the presidency.  Then, in early February, I warned you that the lanky, fidgety Texan had better fish or cut bait pretty quick, because his window of opportunity was closing.

Here’s an excerpt from that piece:

A month ago I’d have made Irish Bob the odds-on favorite to be the 2020 Democrat nominee because he is the absolutely perfect Democrat candidate:  Completely unqualified; no accomplishments in the private sector of our economy of any note; no real accomplishments in government, either, for that matter; willing to say literally anything to attract votes from depraved and demented Democrat base voters; and he looks good on television. Hell, he even has his fake nickname that leads at least half of all Democrat voters to still think he is Hispanic or something, allowing him to tick off that “Minority” box even though he isn’t one, just like Fauxcahontas has made a habit of doing throughout her adult life in order to get ahead.

Today, I’m telling you that my February piece was overly-optimistic, and our hero’s window of opportunity most likely closed way back in January, maybe even December, before any of the other candidates got into the race.

There was plenty of reason in late November to believe O’Rourke could become the Democrat nominee. Yeah, he’d just lost his senate race to Ted Cruz, but he had made it pretty close thanks to a 3-to-1 spending advantage, and today’s Democrats are all about the moral victory, just fascinated with political losers. He was clearly the favorite of all the young girls in the news media and many of the young men as well, all of whom longed to get the plum assignment of covering his campaign.

He truly had everything going for him, all the political momentum in the world, and then…he decided to take a few months off. He said he had to go “find myself”, and spent weeks wandering around who knows where, live-streaming dental visits, doing interviews with an ever-willing Oprah and “60 Minutes” crew and apparently raising a clinically depressed black Labrador retriever.

December came and went. January came and went. February came and went and then half of March, until there were 11 Democrat candidates in the race, but still no precious Beto for all the local TV news anchors to swoon over. Simply put, by the time Irish Bob finally got around to formally announcing he was going to run, a huge portion of his potential support base that was firmly behind him in late 2018 had already moved on.

Even more devastating for the de facto favored candidate of the news media, many of his potential suitors had grown tired of being stood up for the date, and had even grown bitter. Even worse than that, some of them had even figured out the essence of his schtick, as evidenced by the headline of the piece published yesterday by the very liberal New Republic: “The Profound Emptiness of Beto O’Rourke.”  Ouch.

The leftwing media pushback wasn’t limited to the New Republic – far from it. The lunatics who run Slate beat them to the punch by two full days with an anti-Beto diatribe headlined “Beto 2020 Has No Reason to Exist.” Yikes.

By Friday, the growing awareness in the fake news media of Irish Bob’s essential emptiness as a human being and similarly-growing awareness by the Social Justice Warriors among the Democrat voter base that this guy with the Hispanic-sounding nickname is really just another pasty-faced white guy had the hacks at Politico using the dreaded “B” word:  “Not One Woman Got That Kind of Coverage: Beto Backlash Begins.” Hooboy.

Indeed, the backlash momentum had become so severe by week’s end that not even the news-fakers at CNN could resist getting in on the act:

Other leftist media organizations had become so bitter by Irish Bob’s months of dithering that they even assigned reporters to do some actual, real reporting on his dark personal background. That led to this report from Reuters making its way into publication on Friday:

Backstory: How Reuters uncovered Beto O’Rourke’s teenage hacking days – Reuters reporter Joseph Menn exclusively revealed on Friday that Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke belonged to one of the best-known groups of computer hackers as a teenager.

Oh, my.

This was not how it was all supposed to go for our precious Beto, not how it was supposed to go at all.

The fact that Friday was March 15, aka the Ides of March, had many speculating that Gestapo Chief, er, “Special Counsel” Robert Mueller would use the Caesarian symbolism of that date to issue his final report. Well, the long knives of the American Left were certainly out on Friday, but they weren’t coming for President Trump, they were coming for Irish Bob.

March 15, 2019 should forever be remembered as the Ides of Beto, the day it became obvious that the guy who couldn’t win Texas despite an enormous money edge and the entire national news media serving as his campaign’s propaganda operation won’t be able to compete on a national stage, either.

It turns out that window closed way back in January.

That is all.

Speaking of Political Losers, Heeeeeere’s Beto!

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is an actress. – Everyone should watch this video. Trust me, just watch it. It’ll be the best 23 minutes you invest this week. I’m going to keep this pinned at the top of each piece I post for the next few days in order to maximize its – and her – exposure.

And speaking of political losers. – Sometimes, events just follow the Campaign Update around.  Our focus yesterday morning was on the Democrats’ Ongoing Fascination With Political Losers, and – viola! – this morning, Irish Bob “Beto” O’Rourke is formally announcing his candidacy.

All the girls – and most of the guys – who pose as fake journalists in our fake news media are swooning and cooing sweet nothings they hope will eventually meet their precious Beto’s ears. Fake news hacks from El Paso to Austin to New York City to Washington D.C. are all lining up at the door to their fake editors’ offices, er, cubicles, vying for the glorious assignment of following the jumpy, sweaty, skate-boarding, 46 year-old around the country in the hopes that he will give them a passing glance, maybe one of his crooked smiles, or even – gasp! – repeat their name back to them during an evasive answer to one of their softball questions.

Oh, the glory! What more could a girl – or guy – possibly want amid a miserable life spent faking the news for a living?

The Texas Tribune, an Austin-based digital publication that acted as a pro bono PR firm for Irish Bob’s failed senate campaign last year, led with this paragraph in its story on this morning’s announcement:

“After months of intense speculation, Beto O’Rourke is entering the presidential race Thursday, marking an extraordinary rise from little-known El Paso congressman a few years ago to potentially formidable White House contender.”

Ah, so it’s been an “extraordinary rise”, has it, this progression from little-known congressman to senate race loser to presidential candidate currently pulling 6% in the Democrat preference polls? I suppose we should feel lucky the writer resisted the impulse to use the word “meteoric” instead.

To be fair, Irish Bob has been truly extraordinary at two things thus far:

  • He raised an extraordinary amount of out-of-state money in his senate race against Ted Cruz, ultimately out-spending Cruz by a 3-to-1 margin in a losing effort; and
  • He has attracted an extraordinary amount of free media from the fawning press, possibly more than any politician in U.S. history not named Obama or Clinton.

But maybe even more impressive is how many fake media outlets have chosen to publish pretty much the exact same “profile” of Irish Bob. Hell, Vanity Fair just put another one out there yesterday, complete with a photo spread by Annie Lebovitz.

Every profile of Irish Bob published over the past year reads like the breathless prose of a lovesick college coed, and they’re all structured as if torn from a page of a paint-by-the-numbers book:

  • Beto is “Kennedy-esque. Indeed, if that word does not appear in the story, it is not an official profile;
  • His hometown of El Paso, population of 683,577, is described as “small”, “backwater”, “isolated”, or my favorite, “dusty;”
  • He sweats a lot, and it shows. Swooning fake reporters spend a ton of time admiring Beto’s perspiration;
  • He rides a skateboard;
  • Hey, didja know he used to be in a punk rock band?;
  • The perpetually-jumpy politician with more tics than a stray dog has “nervous energy.” Oh;
  • His eyes are “piercing,” because hey, how else do you describe the eyes of someone who is “Kennedy-esque?” Just be glad they didn’t say “dreamy,” because that’s what they’re all really thinking.

Pablum for the masses, all in an effort to promote the candidacy of a guy whose main accomplishment in life – outside of having an admittedly-lovely family – is having raised $75 million in a senate race that he lost.

The conventional wisdom out there today seems to be that O’Rourke is getting into the race in an effort to become Joe Biden’s running mate in 2020. While I think that vastly underestimates Irish Bob’s massive ego, wouldn’t that outcome be wonderful?

Think about it: How would the rapidly-growing social justice warrior wing of the Democrat support base react if its 2020 convention were to nominate a ticket consisting of two of the most pasty-white men ever born in America outside of Wisconsin? It would be glorious.

So Irish Bob is officially in, and the Democrat fascination with political losers continues. I would say let the fawning fake news media slobbering over “Beto” begin, but as Vanity Fair and the Texas Tribune and many others demonstrate this morning, it began long ago.

That is all.

Mueller Bites Into Another Ham Sandwich

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Robert Mueller has a passion for ham. – The Special Counsel’s office nabbed itself another ham sandwich in the dark of night, arresting former Trump adviser (prior to the 2016 election campaign) Roger Stone with CNN’s cameras conveniently present for the festivities. Funny how that works, huh?

The 66 year-old Stone, who is one of the most recognizable people in America at this point and not any sort of flight risk at all, was arrested at his home as FBI agents pounded on his door shouting “FBI! Open the door!” as they would if they were playing Elliot Ness in a Hollywood-produced film. Stone, after opening the door, was naturally taken away in handcuffs.

The arrest of Stone on a variety of process crimes having nothing to do with any “collusion” with anyone from Russia comes after 20 months of a Mueller-led rectal exam into every facet of his life. The obviously-coordinated media event also conveniently comes in the wake of recent releases of transcripts of the congressional testimonies of a series of FBI/DOJ anti-Trump cabal participants like Lisa Page and James Baker which contained revelations of all sorts of violations of law and process committed as part of the efforts to get Trump during 2016 and 2017. You know, actual news that CNN couldn’t be bothered to report.

Timing is everything if you’re a Special Counsel.

Stone was charged with a series of terrible-sounding process crimes like “obstruction of justice” (as if this Mueller and his band of Clinton/Obama shills were engaged in any sort of pursuit of actual “justice”), “witness tampering” and “lying to congress”, all of which sound great when trumpeted by the news-fakers at CNN. But God help him if he ever screwed up on a tax return, because at the end of the day all these other charges will almost certainly fall away and that is what he’ll end up going to jail for.

Just another day in the pursuit of “justice” by the American Gestapo.

And now for something completely different…: Here’s Irish Bob O’Rourke in a Sheep Suit.  No, really, I’m not making this up…

Conservatives like Jim Hanson making fun of Irish Bob over this video are just whistling past the graveyard.  Democrat voters eat this kind of stuff up. In their minds, O’Rourke in a onesie just makes him cool and hip and they’re all out there on Amazon this morning trying to figure out if they can buy one for themselves. And that sheep mask will be all the rage at Millennial Halloween parties this October.

At the end of the day, the release of this little snip of video will get Irish Bob another 5 percent in the Democrat 2020 nomination horse race polls.

He’s a shoe-in, folks.  Just get used to it: Beto-In-A-Sheep-Suit 2020!!!!

Actually, Mitch, you’re wrong. – The news-fakers at The Hill report this morning that GOP senators “Read the Riot Act” to Vice President Mike Pence at a closed-door luncheon yesterday. Led by Mitch McConnell, this group of half a dozen or so establishment unreliables informed the Veep that government shutdowns are “bad strategy”, with McConnell reminding Pence of his “favorite country saying” which is “there is no education in the second kick of a mule.”

Whatever that means.

We hear this nonsense all the time from McConnell and the GOP Squish lobby in the Senate and House. But every time we hear it, it is instructive to review the last time the GOP got blamed for a partial fake shutdown of the government.

That took place in October, 2013, when Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Utah Sen. Mike Lee – two actual, real conservative Republicans – led filibusters of a horrible budget bill to force a shutdown that lasted from October 1 through October 17 before they finally relented and agreed to a compromise.

As we see happening today, Democrats and their coordinating agents in the fake news media reacted to that action by Cruz and Lee with glee, assuring the public that Republicans would pay dearly at the ballot box when the 2014 mid-term congressional elections came around.  Because, that is what D.C. Swamp logic told them would happen, right?  Right.

But what actually did happen in the 2014 mid-term elections?  Why, the GOP base turned out in droves, and Republicans swept to huge gains in both the House and Senate.  In fact, this was the election in which Republicans gained control of the Senate for the first time since 2006, the election that put Cocaine Mitch into the Majority Leader’s role he holds today.

One would think McConnell might actually remember such a red-letter day in his career.

I have been involved in and written about politics for almost 40 years now, and it never ceases to amaze me how so many Republicans are simply incapable of recognizing the single most important lesson the great Ronald Wilson Reagan taught them: Republicans will always be rewarded by voters when they stand on principle and keep their promises, and will always be punished by them when they fail to do so.

In this government shutdown, President Donald Trump is standing on principle and keeping his promose, and he will be rewarded by the voters for doing so in 2020 so long as he does not capitulate.  Republicans who stand with him will also be rewarded. Republicans who do not stand with him will be punished.

It really is that simple.

That is all.
