Tuesday News Roundup: Racism Causes Climate Change and Rep. Steve Cohen is a Creep

…aaaaannnnnd nobody cares. – Failed Fox daytime hosts Bill Hemmer and ol’ what’s-her-name kicked off their new evening show on Fox News last night with a self-serving tweet:

Meanwhile, half of the news channel’s former audience was tuned in to OANN or NewsMax, happy as clams.

It turns out that being extremely not-funny for woke audiences 5 days a week in today’s America is a very lucrative enterprise:

His “meds” are apparently underwear, socks, pants, a shirt and shoes. – As Bill de Blasio’s New York City continues to fall apart at the seams, today’s news involves a nude man who pushed another man in front of an oncoming subway train and then died when he… oh, just read the story at the Daily Caller:

The naked man who died after pushing another man onto the subway tracks in New York City was “off his medication,” according to his mom.

The man was electrocuted after he attacked the disabled US Army vet that jumped down to help the guy he had originally pushed onto the subway tracks, the New York Post reported Sunday. The naked man fell onto the third rail and was electrocuted, the outlet reported.

“He was off his medication,” the man’s mom, Ethel Trammell, told the outlet. “The last time he was here was Jan. 4, which was his birthday. If he got off his medication, he just wasn’t stable, and the longer he was off, he would get aggressive.”

“The guy on the subway, that definitely was not my son,” Trammell added. ‘This was one of the nicest guys in the world. He was so nice, he would give you the shirt off his back.”

[End]

Yes, as always seems to be the case in stories like this, the guy who killed someone else by committing a heinous act of violence is just the sweetest human being on earth. No doubt he was an honor student and an altar boy, too.

Nowhere does the story address the obvious question: How did a nude man manage to make his way all the way down to a New York City subway platform in the first place without anyone doing anything about it? But then, this is Bill de Blasio’s New York City, so why would anyone ask that question at all?

The narrative to make being a Trump supporter illegal is gaining steam. – We’ve all known that Tennessee Democrat Steve Cohen is one of the most disgusting creeps in the U.S. congress, an often incoherent creep who looks like a villain from a bad serial killer movie. Yesterday, he provided additional proof of  his basic slimy-ness by advancing the growing Democrat/media narrative that being a Trump supporter is something that should be outlawed.

During an appearance on CNN, Cohen labeled any and all of the 80% or so of National Guard members who supported the President as being likely threats to China Joe Potato Head Biden on Inauguration Day in his effort to justify the FBI vetting of every one of the 26,000 Guard personnel who are in DC today.

From a story at JustTheNews.com:

Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., suggested on Monday that people in the National Guard who have been activated to secure the inauguration on Wednesday of President-elect Joe Biden might be Trump supporters and therefore “might want to do something” to Biden or disrupt the event.

The FBI has been involved in vetting deployed members of the Guard to be sure that none of them will pose a threat to the inauguration or to Joe Biden.

“The U.S. Army issued a statement late Sunday obtained by Fox News that said it is working with the Secret Service to determine if any service members on hand need additional background screening. The statement said that all service members are familiar with the Threat Awareness and Reporting Program, which ‘requires department personnel to report any information regarding known or suspected extremist behavior that could be a threat to the department or the U.S.'”

But Rep. Cohen took it a step further: “The [National] Guard is 90 some-odd percent male, and only about 20 percent of white males voted for Biden,” he said. “You’ve got to figure that in the Guard, which is predominantly more conservative … they’re probably not more than 25 percent of the people there protecting us that voted for Biden. The other 75 percent are in the large class of folks that might want to do something.”

The implication from Cohen that being a Trump voter makes one a possible seditionist or a threat to the safety of the President-elect was pushed back on from both CNN and the Washington Post, two news outlets that have themselves been harsh critics of President Trump.

They hate you and would rather you were dead, folks. If you still don’t believe me now, you will find out the hard way soon enough.

New liberal fake environmentalist mantra: Killing trees is baaaaad, but killing bamboo is goooood.

*sigh*

But wait, here’s an even better new liberal fake environmentalist mantra from China Joe’s very own “climate team”: Racism causes climate change! I swear I do not make this stuff up, folks:

From the story at DailyWire:

Two aides named by President-elect Joe Biden to handle environmental issues claim “systemic racism” is partially to blame for climate change.

The Washington Free Beacon reported that Maggie Thomas has been tapped for the Office of Domestic Climate Policy chief of staff and Cecilia Martinez will serve as “senior director for environmental justice. Both incoming advisers have said racism drives climate change while insisting Biden’s environmental reforms should be based on “racial and economic justice.”

In 2019, the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis released an “Equitable & Just” climate platform that demanded “environmental justice, equity and reducing pollution in overburdened communities” be front and center in the fight against climate change.

“For too long, systemic racism and injustice have disproportionately exposed economically disadvantaged communities, tribal communities, and communities of color to the highest levels of toxic pollution. As the current COVID-19 crisis demonstrates, the interconnection between environmental and health risks has created crisis conditions for communities already battling toxic pollution that causes respiratory and other illnesses. Unless intentionally interrupted, systemic racism will continue to be a major obstacle to creating a healthy planet. The only path forward is to design national climate policies that are centered on justice,” Martinez said in a press release for the platform.

Thomas has her own climate plan, which calls for trillions more in government spending to fight climate change, including more welfare programs such as rent and utility relief. The plan also demands the U.S. move away from fossil fuels. She demands Biden use executive action to establish a “government-wide environmental justice initiative” that would focus “federal environmental policy around equity, justice, and inclusion.”

[End]

Remember: This is the sock puppet presidency whose Inauguration theme tomorrow is “national unity.”

My goodness.

Speaking of that “unity” inauguration, here’s how it’s currently going:

Willam Barr is Ready to do War With Gerrold Nadler and Fellow Brain-Dead House Dems

Get ready. Barr’s testimony is going to be epic. – Attorney General William Barr appears before the House Judiciary Committee for testimony today, and boy, if you think he’s going in feeling timid and cowed, do you have another think coming.

The Democrat members of the committee, chaired by Gerrold Nadler and including such rank dimwits as Eric Swalwell, Hank Johnson, Stephen Cohen, Sheila Jackson Lee and Ted Lieu, have made clear they intend to use this hearing to demonize Barr and set the pretense to hold impeachment hearings targeted at the AG. All of their bluster is designed to frighten Barr into holding fire on issuing any indictments of the coup plotters until after Election Day in November. You can be sure that pretty much every Democrat will pound on this point.

Mr. Barr is having none of it. The AG released his opening statement last night, and he is coming out with both guns blazing. Here are some excerpts for your reading enjoyment:

Ever since I made it clear that I was going to do everything I could to get to the bottom of the grave abuses involved in the bogus “Russiagate” scandal, many of the Democrats on this Committee have attempted to discredit me by conjuring up a narrative that I am simply the President’s factotum who disposes of criminal cases according to his instructions. Judging from the letter inviting me to this hearing, that appears to be your agenda today. So let me turn to that first.

As I said in my confirmation hearing, the Attorney General has a unique obligation. He holds in trust the fair and impartial administration of justice. He must ensure that there is one standard of justice that applies to everyone equally and that criminal cases are handled even-handedly, based on the law and the facts, and without regard to political or personal considerations. I can tell you that I have handled criminal matters that have come to me for decision in this way.

The President has not attempted to interfere in these decisions. On the contrary, he has told me from the start that he expects me to exercise my independent judgment to make whatever call I think is right. That is precisely what I have done.

From my experience, the President has played a role properly and traditionally played by Presidents. Like his predecessors, President Trump and his National Security Council have appropriately weighed in on law-enforcement decisions that directly implicate national security or foreign policy, because those decisions necessarily involve considerations that transcend typical prosecutorial factors. Moreover, when some noteworthy event occurs that potentially has legal ramifications – such as leaks of classified information, potential civil rights abuses by police, or illegal price fixing or gouging – the President has occasionally, and appropriately, confirmed that the Department is aware of the matter. But the handling of the matter and my decisions on criminal matters have been left to my independent judgment, based on the law and fact, without any direction or interference from the White House or anyone outside the Department.

Indeed, it is precisely because I feel complete freedom to do what I think is right that induced me serve once again as Attorney General. As you know, I served as Attorney General under President George H. W. Bush. After that, I spent many years in the corporate world. I was almost 70 years old, slipping happily into retirement as I enjoyed my grandchildren. I had nothing to prove and had no desire to return to government. I had no prior relationship with President Trump.

[End]

The AG also addresses the Democrat/media’s lies about what is taking place in Portland every night in a very direct manner:

Finally, I want to address a different breakdown in the rule of law that we have witnessed over the past two months. In the wake of George Floyd’s death, violent rioters and anarchists have hijacked legitimate protests to wreak senseless havoc and destruction on innocent victims. The current situation in Portland is a telling example. Every night for the past two months, a mob of hundreds of rioters has laid siege to the federal courthouse and other nearby federal property. The rioters arrive equipped for a fight, armed with powerful slingshots, tasers, sledgehammers, saws, knives, rifles, and explosive devices. Inside the courthouse are a relatively small number of federal law enforcement personnel charged with a defensive mission: to protect the courthouse, home to Article III federal judges, from being overrun and destroyed.

What unfolds nightly around the courthouse cannot reasonably be called a protest; it is, by any objective measure, an assault on the Government of the United States. In recent nights, rioters have barricaded the front door of the courthouse, pried plywood off the windows with crowbars, and thrown commercial-grade fireworks into the building in an apparent attempt to burn it down with federal personnel inside.

The rioters have started fires outside the building, and then systematically attacked federal law enforcement officers who attempt to put them out—for example, by pelting the officers with rocks, frozen water bottles, cans of food, and balloons filled with fecal matter. A recent video showed a mob enthusiastically beating a Deputy U.S. Marshal who was trying to protect the courthouse – a property of the United States government funded by this Congress – from further destruction. A number of federal officers have been injured, including one severely burned by a mortar-style firework and three who have suffered serious eye injuries and may be permanently blind.

Largely absent from these scenes of destruction are even superficial attempts by the rioters to connect their actions to George Floyd’s death or any legitimate call for reform. Nor could such brazen acts of lawlessness plausibly be justified by a concern that police officers in Minnesota or elsewhere defied the law.

Remarkably, the response from many in the media and local elected offices to this organized assault has been to blame the federal government. To state what should be obvious, peaceful protesters do not throw explosives into federal courthouses, tear down plywood with crowbars, or launch fecal matter at federal officers. Such acts are in fact federal crimes under statutes enacted by this Congress.

As elected officials of the federal government, every Member of this Committee –regardless of your political views or your feelings about the Trump Administration – should condemn violence against federal officers and destruction of federal property. So should state and local leaders who have a responsibility to keep their communities safe. To tacitly condone destruction and anarchy is to abandon the basic rule-of-law principles that should unite us even in a politically divisive time. At the very least, we should all be able to agree that there is no place in this country for armed mobs that seek to establish autonomous zones beyond government control, or tear down statues and monuments that law-abiding communities chose to erect, or to destroy the property and livelihoods of innocent business owners.

The most basic responsibility of government is to ensure the rule of law, so that people can live their lives safely and without fear. The Justice Department will continue working to meet that solemn responsibility.

[End]

Boom. This is a brilliant statement with which to open this hearing, and we can be sure that Mr. Barr will give as good as he takes.

That is all.

The Great Turning of the “Russia Collusion” Tide Continues

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

News you won’t see reported on CNN – Just so you know, your President of the United States of America donated his second quarter salary ($100,000) yesterday to a project that helps rebuild military cemeteries.

Hey, remember all those media-generated rumors that Chief of Staff John Kelly was fed up with the President and going to resign? – Yeah, those were fake.  The White House announced yesterday that President Trump had asked Kelly to commit to staying on through 2020, and that General Kelly has agreed to do so.

This move was intended not only to signal stability in the White House ranks, but to emphasize to the fake news media that the President has no concerns about being caught up in their “Russia Collusion” fantasy or of being impeached by a Democrat congress.  Awesome.

Today’s Required Viewing – Last night, CNN’s fake newsman Anderson Cooper had dimwitted never-Trumper Max Boot on a panel with America’s premier expert on Russia, Prof. Stephen Cohen, to discuss U.S. relations with that country.  The result is five minutes of Cooper and Boot being utterly decimated and made to look like a couple whining children by a vastly superior intellect.  Ever watched your cat toy around with a helpless grasshopper for an hour before finally killing it?  It’s like that.  Just.  Like.  That.

Watch it here.  You’ll be glad you did.

Your Fake News Media in Action! – The fake news media is really running out of scandals to dummy up.  This morning, all the talking heads and fake reporters are attempting to make a big deal out of the President’s claim at his Tampa, Florida rally last night that “you have to show an ID to buy groceries.”  Your fake news media is contending that claim is false, and “THE PRESIDENT’S A LIARRRRRR!!!!!!!!”

Funny, though, I waited for what seemed like an interminable amount of time at the local Albertson’s on Monday as the lady in front of me sllllllooooowly wrote a check for her tab, after which the checker asked her for her driver’s license, which the lady then slooooowwwwwwllllly dug out of her purse.  Which of course is exactly the process that the President was referring to.

So who’s lying?  It’s not hard to figure out.

More news you won’t see on CNN – As you no doubt know by now, since it’s pretty much the only story the fake news media really focused on the last couple of days, the trial of Paul Manafort in Virginia has gotten underway.  While everyone at CNN and the rest of the fake news media continues to claim this is all about their Russia Collusion fantasy play, it is in fact not about Russia or Manafort’s role in the Trump campaign at all.  In fact, is so NOT related to either of those subjects that Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s crack team of Clinton/Obama hacks has actually instructed their witnesses to avoid mentioning the T-word.

Yes, that’s right:  the hacks running the “investigation” that’s supposedly designed to prove the Trump Campaign “colluded” with Russian agents to influence the 2016 election are actively instructing their witnesses to avoid that particular subject entirely.  Which is not really surprising given that the charges of tax evasion and bank fraud in the case are over Manafort’s dealings from a decade ago.  You couldn’t make this stuff up if you tried.

Oh, hey, that’s not supposed to be happening, because Blue Wave or something. – A new pair of senate race polls show that the media’s effort to revive its whole “Blue Wave” narrative is a bit premature.  In Nevada, where Democrats are just absolutely certain they’ll knock off unpopular GOP incumbent Dean Heller, a new Suffolk poll has Heller leading his challenger by 1 point.  In Florida, where Democrats are just sure their slimy incumbent Bill Nelson will easily retain a seat that was not supposed to be up for grabs, a new Mason-Dixon poll has GOP candidate Rick Scott leading by 3 points.

There is no “Blue Wave” building, folks.  It just isn’t there.

The great turning of the “Russia Collusion” tide continues. – Eight days ago, the Campaign Update detailed the belief that the July 21 release of the FISA warrant filings by Tom Fitton at Judicial Watch would come to be remembered as the event that heralded the great turning of the tide in the whole Trump/Russia collusion fantasy the Democrats and their media guardians have been using to divide the nation for two years now.

Since that piece was written, we’ve seen ex-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper tossed his former boss Barack Obama under the bus and we’ve seen Rudy Giuliani casually toss out the fact that prosecutors and the White House are in possession of dozens of recordings of 2016/17 phone calls between ex-Trump lawyer Michael Cohen and reporters/media executives.

Hey, remember Tony Podesta?  You know, the brother of John Podesta, the spirit cooking chairman of the Hillary Clinton campaign?  The high-powered DC lobbyist who mysteriously shut down his practice, fired all his employees and disappeared from public view last November when his former business dealings with Paul Manafort started making the news?

Yeah, that Tony Podesta.  Now comes this little bit of news, quietly rolled out by the hacks at NBC on their low-traffic website:  It turns out that Mr. Podesta, along with former lobbying partners Vin Weber and former Obama White House Counsel Greg Craig have for months now been under investigation by U.S. attorneys working out of the Southern District of New York.

Oh.

The rumor that this investigation had been initiated was first reported way back in November, but then quickly quashed by a fake news media desperate to focus solely on reports negative to President Trump.  But now that the tide is clearly turning in the whole “Russia Collusion” fantasy play, NBC suddenly felt the urge to “update” its previous reporting on this little matter.

The real fun is going to come after DOJ IG Michael Horowitz issues his upcoming FISA abuse report, and all the fake news hacks at NBC and the rest of the #fakenews universe start figuring out what U.S. Attorney John Huber and his 400+ staff of attorneys and investigators have been up to out in Salt Lake City since last summer.  That’ll all start taking place in late August/early September, just when the mid-term election campaigns all get started in earnest.

The only “wave” building in this country is the turning tide in the Russia Collusion fantasy play.

Just another day in the bad guys are losing America.

That is all.
