Boom: Barr Converts Durham to Special Counsel in Russia Probe

Well, this is something. Minutes after disappointing Trump supporters – and no doubt President Trump himself – by saying that his do-nothing FBI/DOJ has found no evidence of fraud that would be pervasive enough to tilt the outcome of the presidential election, William Barr announced that he has formally converted U.S. Attorney John Durham to a Special Counsel in his investigation of the origins of Spygate and Obamagate.

This conversion will help to ensure that Durham will be able to continue his work in a new Biden/Harris administration, complicating the hell out of China Joe Potato Head Biden since he is without doubt a key person of interest in Durham’s probe. It will also give Durham access to all the budget, staffing and resource privileges that come along with the Special Counsel designation.

From a report at Fox News:

Attorney General Bill Barr appointed U.S. Attorney John Durham as special counsel to continue investigating the origins of the Russia probe in the next administration, Fox News has confirmed.

Barr appointed Durham as special counsel on Oct. 19—two weeks prior to Election Day.

Barr notified the Senate and House Judiciary Committees, in a letter dated Dec. 1 obtained by Fox News, that Durham would be special counsel.

“On May 13, 2019, I directed John Durham, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut, to investigate certain intelligence and law-enforcement activities surrounding the 2016 presidential election,” Barr wrote. “Although I had expected Mr. Durham to complete his work by the summer of 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as additional information he uncovered, prevented him from doing so.”

“In advance of the presidential election, I decided to appoint Mr. Durham as a Special Counsel to provide him and his team with the assurance that they could complete their work, without regard to the outcome of the election,” Barr wrote, adding that he appointed Durham with “the powers and authority of a Special Counsel” on Oct. 19.

[End]

Law Professor Jonathan Turley had this to say about Barr’s action on Twitter this afternoon:

Thus, as has been the case throughout his term as Attorney General, Barr presents those who support President Trump today with a mixed bag of disappointment about his department’s failure to act on major scandals in real time and hope that the future could still produce some satisfactory results on another front.

The refusal of Barr’s DOJ and the FBI to really get involved in the single largest election fraud in American history will be a stain on Barr’s and Christopher Wray’s reputations for the rest of their days on earth. But his move with Durham today could, if Durham does ultimately produce real prosecutions of the criminals who tried to fix the 2016 elections and execute a coup d’etat on American soil, help to redeem Barr to a large extent.

As always with Barr, you have to take the bad with the good.

That is all.

William Barr is Showing how a Functioning Justice Department can Still Work

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II

The fallout from Obamagate continues to accelerate. – Attorney General William Barr announced late yesterday that he has appointed a federal prosecutor in Texas to review the thousands of “unmasking” requests made by high officials during the final weeks of the Obama Administration. This new probe will be carried out by the appropriately-named John Bash, the U.S. attorney for the Western District of Texas.

Boom.

From a report in the Daily Caller:

Bash will carry out the probe in coordination with U.S. attorneys John Durham and Jeff Jensen, who are looking into various aspects of the Trump-Russia investigation.

“The attorney general determined that certain aspects of unmasking needed to be reviewed separately as a support to John Durham’s investigation,” Kupec told Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

On May 13, Republican senators released a list of 39 Obama-era government officials who submitted requests for intelligence reports during the presidential transition period that identified Flynn, the incoming national security adviser.

The documents showed that former Vice President Joe Biden, former FBI Director James Comey, former CIA Director John Brennan and other officials in the Obama administration submitted requests for information regarding Flynn.

Kupec said that while the process of unmasking is not “inherently” wrong, Barr is analyzing whether Obama officials had political motives in submitting requests for reports that identified Flynn.

[End]

Barr’s move comes amid rising calls for DOJ to appoint a special counsel to investigate not just the massive unmasking operation conducted by the Obama Coup Cabal, but the massive abuse of the FISA process that facilitated the “Crossfire Hurricane” illegal spying operation against the Trump Campaign and transition team. Such calls are wrong-headed and should be roundly rejected by any thinking person.

As we saw with the incredibly abusive Mueller operation, special counsel probes invariably turn political, and often devolve into Soviet-style inquisitions complete with entrapments, Nazi-style raids on homes and the literal framing of innocent people.

Barr’s approach is vastly preferable. Instead of appointing a special counsel under a law that places no limits on timing and budgets, or sidebars on the scope of the investigation, Barr has appointed a series of U.S. attorneys to investigate small, discrete chunks of the vast conspiracy mounted by the Obama White House, DOJ/FBI and Intelligence Community to fix the 2016 election and then to remove a duly-elected President via a soft coup d’etat on American soil. Unlike the similar appointment of Utah U.S. Attorney John Huber by Jeff Sessions back in 2017, Barr’s appointees actually produce results.

Simply put, the Special Counsel law is antithetical to the preservation of a free and just society. It should never be used again, and frankly should be repealed by congress.

AG Barr is providing us all with an alternative framework for how a truly functional Department of Justice can much more effectively and efficiently get to the bottom of massive wrongdoing without engaging in FBI actions reminiscent of the KGB and unending abuses of the rights of innocent U.S. citizens.

It is no wonder, then, that the Democrats and their corrupt media toadies hate and fear him so deeply. But the rest of us who actually care about our country’s future should remain patient with this man, because he is hovering right over the target.

That is all.

Impeachment Tuesday: Have Right and Wrong “Departed?”

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Guest Piece by Karen Kataline

On the eve of Impeachment Tuesday in the Senate, I am acutely aware of how strong the positions of people on opposite sides of this historic event are. Both believe they are right and the other side is wrong.

When it comes to the really big truths in life, I’ve never been a fan of bet-hedging or the notion that “The truth is somewhere in the middle.” There are facts and there are what you think and feel about them. Some often confuse the two.  But with so much outright propaganda in politics today, how does one determine the facts?

The dilemma reminds me of the 2006 film, “The Departed” with Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Wahlberg.

It’s a clever concept and an intricate story about a mob-connected man (Damon) who becomes a Boston cop to infiltrate the police, while an honest Boston cop with a shady past (DiCaprio) goes under cover to infiltrate the Irish mob.

It’s sort of a role reversal story but the main characters don’t know they are walking in each others’ shoes until later in the film.

When the two men finally come face to face and one captures the other, both beg a well-meaning cop to shoot the other because “He’s the bad guy.”  Since the cop doesn’t have enough information, he does the cautious thing by doing nothing.

The scene is a vivid portrayal of what happens when good is portrayed as evil and evil is portrayed as good. With enough confusion, the average citizen washes his hands of the entire situation and goes to a movie—-maybe even “The Departed” where they know it’s only a movie.

In the case of Donald Trump, the Democrats don’t believe we should consider that the same players have made numerous accusations, all of which have proven to be false—many by the Special Counsel and his team. No matter how many more false accusations they make, they are never held accountable, nor do they ever concede anything. They simply pivot to even more outlandish accusations believing they’ll never be held accountable for those either.  Their motives and misdeeds are regularly revealed to the public but of course, they simply beg us to believe that their opponents (Donald Trump and anyone who supports him and his policies) are the bad guys.

The American People will be the jury come Impeachment Tuesday. They will watch the ever-virulent Democrats try to remove a stunningly successful (even by what used to be their own standards) President, on false accusations which even if true, are not crimes. Yet, the propaganda media has managed to convince a certain segment of the population that prosperity and success are dangerous and failure is infinitely preferable.

While acquittal is the likely outcome in this exercise and Democrats have known that from the start, what is most fascinating is that they think the wholly partisan smearing of Donald Trump as an “Impeached President” will help them in November. Others, like my friend Dr. Gerard Lameiro, think it’s exactly the opposite. They say the longer Democrats keep impeachment in the foreground, the more Republicans will win. I tend to agree. So Lindsay Graham, “Cool it!”

This Tuesday, as will be the case on the first Tuesday in November, the direction we decide to go as a country won’t be just a day at the movies. We will choose between right and wrong, Big government vs. restrained government, and Capitalism vs. Communism.

With issues as big as these, it’s time to know where we stand. The best answer is not “somewhere in the middle.”

No One Should Be Surprised at How the Mueller Witch Hunt Played Out

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

A “special counsel” fake investigation that played out exactly by the book. – Looking back on the two years during which our nation was held hostage to the evil Robert Mueller (“evil” is the only word I can think of to accurately describe him after yesterday) Witch Hunt, the most striking aspect of it all is how few actual surprises the process produced when you review how it all played out.

Millions of Americans – myself included – were angry yesterday when Mueller outrageously turned the entire notion of American justice on its head by basically stating that the President of the United States of America was undeserving of due process, undeserving of the presumption of innocence that is the bedrock of our individual liberties. Two things about this that I would ask you to consider:

  1. Mueller truly believed exactly what he said; and
  2. Anyone else appointed to serve in that job would have truly believed the same.

In truth, Robert Mueller functioned in his appointed job exactly as every previous special prosecutor/special counsel we have seen over the last two decades has functioned in that job. This was all very predictable, because the statute that governs this process is set up to create exactly the kind of wide-ranging Witch Hunt we have witnessed since May 17, 2017, the date of Mueller’s appointment by the also-evil Rod Rosenstein.

How predictable was it? Just for grins, I dug up the Campaign Update from May 18, 2017, written about 14 hours after Mueller’s appointment. In that piece, I predicted exactly how this process would play out, including labeling it as an inevitable Witch Hunt, a term that President Trump would not begin to use until several months later.

I didn’t get everything right – I was very much wrong in conceding the media’s portrayal of Mueller at that time as some sort of wonderful public servant and fine human being, both of which were 180 degrees wrong – but where the process that would play out was concerned, the piece has held up eerily well.  You can read it all at the link provided above, but here are some key passages:

Every time one of these atrocities of federal law has been established, the fake news media immediately trots out testimonials about the man’s … impeccable credentials and character.  He will then make a statement – which will surely come  today – about how he is going to be laser-focused on the supposed topic of his investigation, and he will make damn sure the investigation is conducted efficiently and won’t turn into some sort of witch hunt that ends in some sort of kangaroo court that throws people like Scooter Libby in prison for a made-up crime just so the special counsel can claim a scalp.

…the special counsels of the past have then embarked on a long, unlimited witch hunt that has always ended up in a kangaroo court climax accusing and prosecuting individuals for “crimes”, real or imagined, that were usually not remotely the subject of the investigation to begin with.

…Mr. Mueller’s investigation will inevitably be taken in this traditional direction and end in this traditional outcome, because he is little more than a figurehead, the “upright man”, the public face of a process that will soon be staffed and run by a group of young, ambitious lawyers who will make it their goal to collect as many scalps as they can in order to make names for themselves, so that they too can become fabulously wealthy, career-long creatures of the DC swamp.

And if you think the Trump Administration leaks like that 35 year-old sieve you got as a wedding gift in 1981, just wait until you see the magnitude of leaks that will soon begin flowing from Mr. Mueller’s staff.  Again, it’s the Democrats’ wet dream, not to mention the WaPo and the fake NYTimes.

…every one of the special counsel investigations of the past have followed the exact same pattern of promised quick efficiency and laser-like focus on a narrow investigation, to inexorable and dramatic expansion, to outright years-long witch hunt, to a kangaroo court conclusion.  Why?  Because that’s how this process was designed to work by the creatures of the DC establishment who wrote the governing statute.  It would be better named the DC Swamp Preservation Act.

So get ready for a witch hunt followed several years from now by a kangaroo court that sends people to prison for “crimes” completely unrelated to the ostensible subject of Mr. Mueller’s investigation.

Am I prescient? Endowed with ESP? A modern-day Nostradamus? No, I’m just experienced, possess a sense of perspective that age tends to bring with it, and have payed attention to how every special prosecutor/special counsel investigation since the 1980s has played itself out. The cast of characters changes with each new Witch Hunt, but the process is invariably the same.

So yes, be angry at Robert Mueller and his band of merry witch-hunters who will all go off to high-paying jobs at powerful law firms in DC and New York City, and recognize them all for the evil they represent. Because they are the faces of true evil in our society today.

But if you want get to the source of that evil, you have to also be angry at congress. Because the other thing to recognize about Mueller and his evil minions is that they conducted themselves and their Witch Hunt exactly as we all should have expected them to, because that is exactly the process mandated by the governing statute.

This statute does not set up a “legal” process at all; it sets up an extra-Constitutional political tool that was agreed to by members of both parties, and that neither party has any apparent desire to repeal. The law is an atrocity on our society, one which serves to erode the personal liberties of all Americans. Mueller simply used this political tool in the way congress intended it to be used.

Damn them all to hell.

That is all.

Barr Delivers Off-topic Bombshells at Budget Hearing

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Those loud noises you hear are the sounds of American liberal heads exploding. – Despite being the target of a clownish witch hunt of his own, Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu was indirectly elected to serve a record fifth term in that job yesterday in Israel’s parliamentary elections. His conservative Likud Party in fact received its strongest percentage of the vote since the 2003 elections, winning 35 seats in the 120 seat legislature, where it will be able to form an alliance with other conservative parties who together won 30 seats.

All the “experts” had of course predicted that Netanyahu would be brought down by the media-promoted witch hunt in which politically-motivated prosecutors threaten to indict him for allegedly accepting illegal gifts from leaders of other nations and his wife for filing to be reimbursed by the government for the costs of holding state dinners at the couple’s modest home. This kind prosecuturial nonsense was rewarded by voters with a significant shift in favor of Netanyahu and other conservative parties when compared to the results of the country’s previous three elections. Just wait until you hear all the liberal heads exploding here in the U.S. when the same kind of backlash takes place in our country’s own 2020 elections. It will be glorious.

Meanwhile, here in America, the New York Times just kept on faking the news for its demented leftist reader base, declaring these very positive results to be a “setback” for Netanyahu, based not on the actual election results, but by always-inaccurate exit polls conducted by fake news media organizations.  I swear I don’t make this stuff up. Who could?

Do we finally have a real attorney general on the job? – Bob Barr certainly made all the right noises during his testimony before the House Appropriations Committee yesterday.

In what was supposed to be a hearing about his department’s budget for Fiscal Year 2021, Barr was of course repeatedly questioned by craven Democrats who have no interest in actually doing their job about the Mueller report and when he plans to release it. During the course of that off-topic questioning by rank demagogues, the Attorney General delivered a wealth of extremely interesting information:

  • On the Mueller report, he said he would likely be able to release a properly-redacted version of it within the next week, and even hilariously promised to color-code the redactions for Democrats who aren’t capable of reading or thinking above a third-grade level.
  • He spelled out four areas of information he would redact consistent with statutes that have been on the books for decades:  1) grand jury information; 2) information related to U.S. intelligence-gathering; 3) information that could compromise ongoing investigations; and 4) information that could violate the privacy of individuals who were not direct subjects of the Mueller witch hunt.
  • Regarding his four-page summary of the Mueller report that was released two weeks ago, Barr revealed that he offered Mueller the opportunity to review and comment on the summary prior to its release, an offer Mueller refused to accept.
  • Barr told the committee that he anticipates that DOJ Inspector General Micheal Horowitz will finally, at long last, be wrapping up his own investigation into the rampant abuse of the FISA process by the deep state cabal inside his department sometime in May. Yay.

All of that is fine and good, but then came the really big news:

  • The Attorney General informed the committee that he has initiated an investigation into how, why and when the FBI decided to begin a counterintelligence investigation into the Trump Campaign, which we know actually began in late 2015 despite FBI and media lies claiming it only started in July, 2016.

If true – and there is no apparent reason not to take Barr at his word at this point in time – this is a very big deal, because any honest and thorough investigation into that particular subject will inevitably reveal that all of these Obama-era DOJ and FBI officials and their media co-conspirators have been lying to congress, investigators and the public about all of this for two and a half years now.

Further, any honest and thorough investigation into this subject will inevitably ensnare James Comey, Peter Strzok, Andrew McCabe, Lisa Page, Bruce and Nellie Ohr, Sally Yates and even Obama CIA Director John Brennan in its web, in addition to many others. Such an investigation would also inevitably reveal that Attorney General Loretta Lynch was intimately aware of everything that was happening, as well as then-President Barack Hussein Obama, given that every president receives a weekly briefing on U.S. counterintelligence operations.

Sadly, here is what Barr’s revelation also most likely reveals: That Salt Lake City U.S. Attorney John Huber and his staff of hundreds of investigators have most likely not been doing a damn thing on any of this over the last 18 months. It was the fall of 2017 when ex-Attorney General Jeff Sessions used Huber as a lame excuse for his refusal to appoint a second special counsel to look into all of this, claiming then that he had authorized Huber to conduct this exact investigation. Apparently, that was just a dodge by an attorney general who was intent on doing nothing, and did nothing well.

As I said, we have no reason not to take Barr at his word at this point in time, and we can always hope he is not engaging in a Sessions-style dodge now. Hopefully, he won’t give us any reason to start doubting his word in the months to come.

Our nation needs justice here, real justice.  Demands it, in fact.

That is all.

The Witch Hunt is Dead! Long Live the Witch Hunt!

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

The Witch Hunt is dead! Long live the Witch Hunt! – In case you are wondering why every Democrat from Hawaii to Maine is screaming for Attorney General William Barr to “release the full, unredacted Mueller Report!”, it’s because they know that will never happen.

They know that Mueller’s report – assuming it is a fullsome narrative and not just the listing of indictments, prosecutions and deferrals required by the governing statute – will certainly be chock-full of classified information and other passages that the FBI and intelligence agencies will want to redact under their handy “sources and methods” rubrick.  They also know that AG Barr is an old pro, a guy who is going to play this situation strictly by the book, which likely means he is going to compile his own summary report that fully eliminates such concerns and release that to congress and the public instead.

Thus, their cynical and unfillable demand for the “full, unredacted report” will then be transformed into claims that Barr, the disciple of George H.W. Bush who most of them were praising just a few months ago, is now just a Trump toadie who is engaged in a coverup, claims that the Democrats plan to keep pounding right on through Election Day, 2020.

This claim of coverup will become a major part of the Democrat justification for mounting their own Witch Hunts that will consume most of the time over the next 18 months of at least three House committees:  Judiciary, Intelligence and Oversight. Party leaders feel they have no choice but to keep all of this anti-American nonsense alive in order for one of their array of freaks, miscreants, commies and outright nutjobs to have any chance of defeating President Donald Trump at the ballot box next year.

So, if you are frustrated that the Democrats who have spent the last 20 months guaranteeing us that Gestapo Chief, er, “Special Counsel” Mueller has “got the goods” on the President and several members of his family now refuse to accept Mueller’s finding that there was no “Russia Collusion” or “obstruction of justice” and allow our country to return to some sense of normalcy, well, this is why. Yes, it is demented; yes, it is depraved; yes, it is utterly despicable and un-American behavior, but hey, this is the Democrats we are talking about here.

What did you expect?

So, let’s review the Mueller Witch Hunt from a statistical perspective:

  • Money spent – well in excess of $30 million
  • Number of days – 675
  • Number of indictments – 34
  • Number of indictments against Americans – 8
  • Number of indictments against Russian ham sandwiches Mueller knows will never come to this country to stand trial – 25
  • Number of indictments against Concorde Management, whose trial Mueller continues to desperately postpone because he has a big bag of nothing against them – 1

MOST IMPORTANTLY…

  • Number of indictments related to “Collusion” or “Obstruction” – ZERO, ZIP, ZILCH, NADA

And what of our fake news media, this collection of propagandists for the Democrat Party who spent 20 months coordinating their messaging with the DNC on this matter, promoting the “Russia Collusion” fantasy like Nabisco promotes Vanilla Wafers?

In case you missed it, MSNBC’s resident conspiracy theorist, Rachel Maddow, was so upset by Mueller’s “no collusion” conclusion that she literally wept on national television last night:

Isn’t that glorious?

You can be sure that there was plenty of weeping going on behind the scenes over at CNN and the New York Times and the Washington Post and ABC, NBC, CBS as well, as all the fake-newsers saw their vaunted Ship of Mueller run aground on the sharp shoals of reality. But will there be any accountability for these people, even the slightest, meekest admissions of their abject, overwhelming wrong-ness for the last 20 months?

Oh, hell no. Of course not. Nobody at any of our major media organizations maintains the slightest concern about getting anything right anymore – they just care about getting Trump. So all we will see out of these despicable hacks – the ones who don’t break down in tears on live TV, anyway – will be a change in talking points to make it seem like they had predicted this outcome from Mueller’s operation all along, and that the “real action” is over in congress and the Southern District of New York U.S. Attorney’s office.

And remember: The reason they will do this is because… wait for it…THAT’S WHAT THEIR DEMOCRAT MASTERS TELL THEM TO DO.

Once you realize and accept that, it all makes perfect sense.

That is all.

The Final 5:00 Friday Document Dump by Robert Mueller Has Arrived

The Evening Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

The “Mueller Report” – whatever that even means – was delivered to Attorney General William Barr today.

As has been his habit, Mueller took this latest major step in his Witch Hunt late on a Friday to ensure it will dominate the conversation on all the Sunday morning TV talk shows. That’s really all you need to know about whether or not this entire process is a politically-motivated sham. It is.

So, what next? Nobody really knows. It’s likely that right now, AG Barr doesn’t even know what he will be doing with this report, if anything.

By law, the matter is solely in his hands now. Yes, the House of Representatives unanimously passed a meaningless resolution demanding that Barr release the report in its entirety to the public. But that ain’t gonna happen under any circumstances.

Why? Because the report is very likely chock full of classified information and other passages that DOJ and the FBI and other intel agencies will want to heavily redact.

The only thing Barr is required by law to deliver to congress is a cataloging of the indictments and prosecutions conducted by Mueller and his team of Obama/Clinton hacks, along with a listing of “declinations”, i.e., individuals or other entities they decided not to pursue.

That’s it. Frankly, it’s more than congress deserves in this instance.

Indeed, it is entirely possible that that is all that is in Mueller’s actual report – he is under no legal requirement to provide anything more than that to Mr. Barr.

Barr could quickly issue some kind of statement to the press in which he summarizes the report’s content to inform the public whether or not Mueller claims to have found any wrongdoing on the part of President Trump. It seems likely that Barr would want to do that, assuming Mueller’s report contains any such claims.

Leftist pundits have been warning for weeks that their disciples should not expect to get much satisfaction out of Mueller’s report, despite the 20 months shameless, irresponsible speculation that he somehow “had the goods” on the President and/or members of his family.

My guess? Barr will issue some sort of statement before Monday, and we will see tons of #fakenews stories in the New York Times and Washington Post making all sorts of unfounded insinuations based solely on unnamed “sources”.

Within a week, the full report will be leaked to one of those newspapers if it contains damaging accusations against President Trump. If it doesn’t, AG Barr will eventually either release a heavily-redacted version of the full report, or a fairly extensive summary of it that has been fully reviewed and signed-off on by the FBI, CIA and other intelligence agencies.

The next 48-72 hours will be very, very interesting.

That is all.

What to Expect as the Mueller Witch Hunt Comes to a Blessed End

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Man, no one could have seen this coming. Oh, wait…. – Way back in September, the Campaign Update informed its loyal readers (thanks to all of you) that the signs were obvious that Gestapo Chief…er, “Special Counsel” Robert Mueller was systematically going about the process of wrapping things up. We speculated at the time that it would likely take several months for Mueller to complete the process, given that he he likely still had more ham sandwich indictments to pursue, was still at the time hoping to personally interview President Donald Trump, and would want to give his team of loyal Clinton/Obama hacks plenty of time to secure other employment.

Well, it turns out that that process is going to end up taking right at six months, at least if all the fake news media reports out there this morning are to be believed. Yes, it’s your basic crap shoot, given that the first outlet to report the story was CNN, and given that CNN’s report is based only on “people familiar with the plans,” but it seems likely that this is the rare occasion that the fake news network is getting something right.

There are several reasons that this timing would make sense:

First, as mentioned above, it has been obvious for six months that Mueller has been working on wrapping things up, despite all the fake media reporting and Democrat wishful thinking to the contrary;

Second, Tuesday’s announcement that oily Rod Rosenstein would be leaving the DOJ in early-to-mid-March means that Mueller’s days are certainly numbered in any event;

Third, the assumption of office on Tuesday by William Barr, President Trump’s first real Attorney General who isn’t stupidly and needlessly recused from a damn thing means that there is a new sheriff in town looking over Mueller’s corrupt shoulder, and he most likely doesn’t much care for what he’s seeing.

So, Mueller is no doubt feverishly working to finish up whatever “report” he’s been working on and will in all likelihood send it over to Mr. Barr next week, if not sooner.

When that happens, Barr is under no obligation whatsoever to issue any summary of the report, or indeed make a single word from Mueller’s work public. During his confirmation hearing, Barr did semi-commit to making some sort of “summary of findings” public, but he has no legal obligation to do so, and that can take any form he deems appropriate. It is his job and his job alone to make that decision.

Regardless of what Barr decides to do with Mueller’s “report,” we should expect to see a series of utterly false reports published by the Usual Suspects in the fake news media – can you say New York Times and Washington Post and CNN and MSNBC? – containing all manner of wild allegations targeting President Trump, based purely on anonymous sources. Because that is what our fake news media does.

We can also expect Democrats in congress and/or running for president to make their own wild claims, because that is what they do, too. They’re all reciting from the same narrative the media is using, after all.

But in the end, Mueller will still be holding a big, smelly bag of nothing where President Trump is concerned. There is no “Russia collusion” and there never was.

The best news about Mueller wrapping his nonsense up is that DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz will now be free to issue his own report on his two-year investigation into the rampant abuse of the FISA process committed by the Deep State cabal that operated within the DOJ and FBI throughout 2016 and much of 2017. Horowitz has been delaying his own report, waiting on Mueller to finish.

Now that we have a real attorney general governing this process instead of Rosenstein, perhaps Mr. Horowitz will be free to issue his real findings this time, and not the watered-down slop that characterized his report last year on the Clinton email scandal.

Wouldn’t that be a welcome change?  We can only hope.

Words alone cannot describe the pure awesomeness of this Twitter meme… – you just have to watch it for yourself. (Warning – it’s your basic PG-13 video):

That is all.

The Church of Mueller: The Left’s Latest Fake Religion

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

It is in the nature of the human existence to want to believe strongly in something, to believe in something bigger than one’s self, to want to work towards a higher calling, to be a part of some movement that works for the betterment of mankind. This desire to believe leads billions across the face of the earth to seek to belong to a wide variety of actual religions, which worship a variety of gods.

Being, as they are, opposed to actual religions, those who inhabit the political left constantly engage in the process of inventing new, fake religions in which to believe. The fake, leftist religions come, as real religions do, with entire sets of dogma, which leftists like to refer to as “talking points”, “slogans” and “chants,” along with god-like figures to worship and satanic figures to demonize.

The best early example of a leftist religion was of course communism, whose dogma found its basis in the teachings of Karl Marx. In modern times, this particular leftist religion has morphed into “progressivism” and now the “Democrat-Socialism” led by raging nitwits like Alexandra Ocasio Cortez. These are more acceptable tags for the American public to accept, but the ideas pushed by them all are the same.

Global Warming became a leftist religious movement, this one led by an actual Pope-like figure, Al Gore, beginning in the late 1980s. That one morphed into “Climate Change” in the early 2000s when it became obvious even to the believers that the world is not in fact warming, and indeed was about to move into a long cooling phase. Plus, calling it Climate Change has the advantage of being more inclusive, and as we sit here today pretty much everything bad in our lives, from bad breath to forest fires to snow storms to hurricanes to the heartbreak of psoriasis has been blamed on the all-seeing, all-knowing, all-powerful Climate Change.

Climate Change has in fact grown into such a global religion that it even has its own heretics, which the believers refer to as “deniers.” These deniers are shunned the community of government grant recipients and cocktail parties hosted by Gore, Michael Mann and liberal newspaper editors. That’s the price for pointing out the fact that Greenland hasn’t melted and hurricane events have become less frequent over the past 20 years despite all the media hype, and sea levels are rising at the same pace at which they have been rising since the end of the last ice age.

There have been many other examples of this leftist religion-inventing – the religion of “Intersectionality” being a great recent example – but we must get to the point here.

The newest leftist religion is the Church of Robert Mueller.  That’s right:  Special Counsel Robert Mueller is now a deity to the American Left. There’s really no question about it.

Wednesday night, several hundred leftist faithful made a pilgrimage to Times Square where they engaged in a “protect Robert Mueller” demonstration. They chanted repetitive slogans just as Tibetan monks chant “ohmmmmmms” during their daily meditations. They activated the flashlight app on their i-Phones and held them up in unison during a moment of silence. It was like a Led Zeppelin concert, only without all the marijuana and fire hazards created by Zippo lighters.

They shared the dogma of their religion with one another, and with any reporter who asked them questions: “Robert Mueller must be protected.  Robert Mueller must not be fired by the evil Orange Man (the Orange Man is this religion’s version of Satan).  Robert Mueller must exist forever.  Robert Mueller must be allowed to complete his investigation – his investigation must go on for as long as the Orange Man is President.”  On and on and on.

The latest bit of dogma from the Church of Mueller is that the President of the United States not only cannot fire Robert Mueller (he can, for any reason he chooses), the President cannot appoint anyone to the office of Attorney General who has ever expressed a skeptical thought about the god Mueller or his “investigation”, which is the equivalent of this religion’s Ten Commandments. (This dogma only applies to the devil Orange Man and will never be applied to any Democrat successor, of course.)

Commandment 1:  Thou shalt not collude with Russia (this does not apply to the DNC or the Hillary Clinton campaign)

Commandment 2:  Thou shalt not be a Russian entity that makes posts on Facebook or Twitter

Commandment 3:  Thou shalt not be a minor Trump campaign functionary with a Greek name who is targeted for spying by James Comey and Peter Strzok

Commandment 4:  Thou shalt not be an easily smearable target named Roger Stone

Commandment 5:  Only those who have given money to Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama may become disciples for the Church of Mueller

Commandment 6:  It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for the Orange Man to escape the all-powerful subpoena power of the God Mueller

…and so on and so forth.

Even better, clingers to the Church of Mueller actually believe that it was somehow “unconstitutional” for the evil Orange Man to appoint Matt Whitaker to become acting Attorney General after he had fired Jeff Sessions. They actually believe that Whitaker is somehow unqualified for the job because he has in the past expressed the same skepticism about Mueller and his “investigation” that has been expressed by renowned legal scholars like Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz and George Washington University Law Professor Jonathan Turley.

The Church of Mueller faithful actually believe that the appointment of Whitaker to the AG position somehow amounts to a “constitutional crisis”, as if they actually know what that term even means. But hey, they don’t need to know what any of this means, because these are matters of religious faith.

As is the case with all of these fake leftist religions, the Church of Mueller ignores a key central truth, which in this case is that Robert Mueller has the safest job in Washington, D.C. today.  Matt Whitaker was not appointed to fire Robert Mueller, although he is likely to exercise some real oversight over his fake investigation, oversight that Rod Rosenstein has been unwilling to exercise for the last 17 months.

It has been obvious for 16 months now that Mueller has a big bag of nothing where his “Russia collusion” fantasy is concerned, and that his efforts to mount some sort of “obstruction of justice” charge against the evil Orange Man amounts to little more than spitting into the wind. It has been equally obvious for two months now that Mueller has been systematically winding his investigation down, as he has agreed to accept written answers to his reduced number of questions from the Orange Man and has let at least five of his Clinton/Obama disciples to go forth and seek other employment.

The evil Orange Man has expressed his lack of any interest at all in firing Robert Mueller literally hundreds of times over the last 17 months, yet the Church of Mueller faithful remain unconvinced. Because, as with any real religion, the devil is always the deceiver.

Normal Americans with real lives can only marvel at all of this and wonder what false deity these sad people will cling to next after, around the first of the year, Mueller sends his final report over to acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker and allows the remainder of his flock of Clinton/Obama disciples to seek new paying opportunities.

They’ll still probably be counting votes down in Broward and Palm Beach Counties at that time, so maybe the Church of Mueller faithful can concoct a new fake religion around Andrew Gillum or Bill Nelson.  Seems likely to me, anyway.

That is all.

Dear President Trump: Think Twice Before Pardoning Paul Manafort

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

When I was a kid I had a friend who called his a tallywhacker. – Ok, I’m not really sure how to address this in this normally G-rated Update, but here goes…

A California-based “health information provider” that calls itself Healthline created a stir yesterday when it published a piece advocating that society must stop referring to certain male and female body parts by their real names because…wait for it…oh, you have to wait for this one…THEY ARE TOO GENDER SPECIFIC!

Yes, friends, the social justice warriors who have spent the last few years trying to brainwash you into believing that gender orientation is “assigned at birth” are now telling you that using proper terms for body parts like “vagina” and “penis” are too gender-descriptive and result in…wait for it…DISCRIMINATION.  I swear I do not make this stuff up.

But this goes on:  “For the purpose of this guide, we’ll refer to the vagina as ‘front hole’ instead of solely using the term ‘vagina.’”  And yes, you guessed it, your “anus” is now to be called your “back hole,” and a man’s “penis” is now to be referred to as…well, I’m not even going to go there.

Liberals:  If they didn’t exist, no one in their right mind would ever dream of making them up.

He was guilty.  Oh, and by the way, it’s a witch hunt. – One of the jurors in the Manafort case, a woman named Paula Duncan, summed up the case against Paul Manafort perfectly in an interview on Fox News on Wednesday:

“Certainly Mr. Manafort got caught breaking the law, but he wouldn’t have gotten caught if they weren’t after President Trump,” Duncan said of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s case, which she described as a “witch hunt to try to find Russian collusion.”  She went on to say that “Something that went through my mind is, this should have been a tax audit.”

Yes, exactly.  Years before he went to work on the Trump Campaign for 60 days, Paul Manafort was a scofflaw when it came to properly reporting his income for tax purposes.  A whopping amount of income as it turned out, which came to him during a time when he was working in tandem with Tony Podesta, brother of John Podesta, for some Ukrainian clients.

This should have been a tax audit, conducted by the IRS.  Any U.S. attorney in America could then have prosecuted the case based on the tax audit’s findings.  Instead, the case ends up being pursued by a bunch of Clinton/Obama thugs working for an out-of-control Special Counsel, who are using the case purely as a political tool to try to damage the duly-elected President of the United States.

Paul Manafort was guilty and will now do time for his crimes.  That’s how our justice system is supposed to work.  It just shouldn’t have taken place at the hands of an extra-constitutional special counsel and his band of Clinton/Obama thugs.  This should have been a tax audit, conducted years ago by the Obama IRS.  But of course, the Obama IRS was too busy persecuting conservative 501(c)(3) organizations to bother conducting tax audits.

Beg pardon? – Meanwhile, President Trump told Fox News host Ainsley Earhart that he is “considering a pardon” for Manafort.  This would be a bad move.  Yes, Manafort was heinously abused by the Special Counsel thugs, held in solitary confinement for months for purely political reasons.  If the President does issue a pardon, he should clearly cite this, and the kangaroo court nature of the entire prosecution as the reason for doing so.

But Manafort is guilty of the crimes for which he will be sentenced.  He’s the classic Washington, DC swamp rat, exactly the kind of career operative who has for a lifetime existed in and abused the system that Mr. Trump campaigned against in 2016.  He made his living as a part of that swamp for decades, profited immensely from its perpetuation, and cheated the government – and thus, the American people – out of millions of dollars in the process.  A jury of his peers – including Ms. Duncan, who is such a fan of the President that she carries a MAGA cap in her car everywhere she goes – found him to be guilty.

At the end of the day, a pardon of Manafort would be a betrayal of the work that jury performed.  While the President’s loyalty is admirable and his anger at the way this case was handled is certainly understandable, this does not seem like the place for him to make his stand.

Just another day in out-of-control Special Counsel America.

That is all.

America Deserves Better Than Rod Rosenstein and Robert Mueller

The Friday the 13th Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Just getting some things off my chest on a beautiful Friday afternoon in Texas…

Inflation – Has anyone besides me bought balloons at the local Party City outlet that are much larger than this “giant” Trump Baby balloon that CNN’s been talking about all week?  Seriously, I could fit that thing in the back of my SUV, fully inflated.

Priorities – Does it bother anyone else that Rod Rosenstein wants to dedicate about 10 times as many DOJ and FBI personnel to investigating President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee than he was willing to dedicate to investigating last October’s massacre in Las Vegas?

Hacks (in more ways than one) – So, these 12 “Russian intelligence officers” indicted by Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his band of circus clowns “hacked the DNC server”? Would that be the same “DNC server” that the DNC refused to allow the FBI to take a look at? That “DNC server”?

Coordination – Mark Warner’s on TV as I type this demaning that President Trump cancel next week’s summit with Vladimir Putin due to Mueller’s action today.  Timing is everything with these un-American creeps.

Backfires – Mueller’s action today is a blatantly obvious repetition of the ham sandwich indictments he tossed out at 13 Russian defendants a few months ago:  Just thrown out there with no evidence presented, focused on defendants that almost certainly will never be brought to trial, and timed to do maximum damage to relations between the U.S. and Russia.  Dumping these things out on the Friday before the summit between Trump and Putin is a despicable disgrace.

Justification – Regardless of the suspect nature of the indictments and the obvious timing issues, I just keep coming back to wondering why do we need a Special Counsel for any of this?  We are now well more than a year into this fake investigation and the public has still been given no legitimate justification for the appointment of this Special Counsel to begin with.  What was the underlying crime that originated such an investigation?  There is no crime of “collusion” in the federal statutes, and to this date, the special counsel has failed to charge a single U.S. citizen related to any ostensible crime in any way related to such “collusion.”

Stonewall – Even worse, Rosenstein himself has personally stonewalled multiple congressional committees exercising legitimate oversight responsibilities, steadfastly refusing to produce the memos he personally authored appointing the special counsel and then later expanding his mandate.  This lack of transparency is simply unacceptable in a free society.

America and Americans deserve better than this.  A pox on all their houses.

That is all.

It Really is Time for Robert Mueller to Fold up Shop

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

“Hey, somebody get the Pope on the line – those are not the approved DNC/fake media talking points.  Not at all.” – Pope Francis, whose messages have for the past 18 months been pretty much right in line with those of the Democrats and fake news media here in the U.S., told an Italian family association on Saturday that the modern practice of abortion is akin to ‘Nazi eugenics practiced “with white gloves,’ and said the only real families are those based on marriage between a man and a woman.”

The Pope’s sudden shift to fealty to long-time Catholic orthodoxy after years of publicly straying from it no doubt came as a shock to American leftists in and out of our fake news media who have spent the last 3 years claiming that the anti-abortion Donald Trump is the second coming of Adolph Hitler.  Somehow, I’d expect to see this singularly politically-oriented Pope to issue some form of “clarification” of those remarks in the next few days, but yesterday was fun, anyway.

Do as he says, not as he does… – Nitwit leftwing movie director “Meathead” Rob Reiner, who has spent the last 2 years publicly lashing out at Donald Trump, publicly denounced fading actor Robert DeNiro and other celebrities for… wait for it…publicly lashing out at Donald Trump!  I swear I don’t make this stuff up.  Who could?

Hey, if you want to compare someone to Hitler, I give you… – Angela Merkel, the long, long, longtime Chancellor who has presided over the destruction of the native German culture over the last decade with her open borders policies, seems to finally be in real trouble with the citizens there.  Go figure.

Merkel was barely able to cobble together a governing coalition in the country’s parliamentary system after the recent national elections, and her popularity has only deteriorated since that time.  If you were wondering why she appeared so desperate during last week’s G7 conference, it was because she was hoping against hope to rope President Trump into a stupid and counter-productive (for the U.S.) trade deal there.  Obviously, she came away frustrated, telling her top advisors afterwards that she was literally depressed.

Now we know why.  In an interview with the BBC on Saturday, German Member of Parliament Kai Whittaker predicted that Merkel could be ousted from her Chancellor’s seat as soon as the end of this coming week, as the population tires of seeing crime rates rise dramatically and the cultural rot brought about by Merkel’s open borders policies.

The ousting of Merkel, perhaps Europe’s pre-eminent globalist leader, would be a blessing for the entire world.  Hopefully the German people have finally had enough.

But, but, but…which summer? – Newsmax is reporting that “White House sources” tell the news organ that they expect to see a final report from Special Counsel Robert Mueller “by summer’s end.”  That and $2.55 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks, if you can stand the odor.

But hey, they could be right. – Why?  Because Mueller gave up long ago any effort to prove that Trump or anyone on his team actually “colluded” with Russian agents to influence the 2016 elections.  Instead, he has spent the last half year doing everything he could to dummy up a case that the President, in firing ex-FBI Director and current teenage drama queen James Comey, somehow “obstructed justice,” even though the President has an absolute constitutional right to fire the FBI Director or any executive branch employee for any reason whatsoever.

That’s a pretty high bar right there.  And guess what?  It just got a hell of a lot higher.

The report issued last Thursday by DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz absolutely devastates any argument which contends that James Comey did not need firing.  This guy needed firing far more than Spiro Agnew, more than Tony Hayward, more than Reince Priebus, more even that any contestant on the Celebrity Apprentice ever did.

Sure, the Executive Summary of the IG report says that investigators did not find any “documentary evidence” that Comey’s decisions related to the fake Clinton email investigation that he and FBI Super Duper Agent and aspiring latin lover Peter Strzok were politically-motivated to favor the Pantsuit Princess, but the body of the report lays out obvious political motivation behind almost every decision. Even more devastating for the Mueller effort to frame the President, the IG report lays out multiple abject violations of FBI and DOJ policy in the conduct of that investigation, and nothing stinks more within a government bureaucracy than violations of policy.

If you want to get somebody in a big government bureaucracy fired, you don’t do it by pointing a finger and shouting “he voted for Hillary Clinton!”, you do it by documenting the fact that he violated Section 1, Paragraph S, subparagraph ii of the agency’s rules of conduct.  The Horowitz report painstakingly documents multiple such major violations on Comey’s part, including the assumption of the authority of the Attorney General’s office, which he obviously did not possess.

Combine that with the memo laying out the reasons why Trump should fire Comey – written by none 0ther than Rod freaking Rosenstein, the guy who appointed Mueller in the first place – and Mueller would be laughed out of court by most any judge in the country, even some Obama appointees, if he attempted to accuse President Trump of obstruction of justice.

The other reason why we might indeed see Mueller wrap things up fairly soon is because the polls have turned decidedly against him and his team of Democrat shills.  We have to remember that the main reason why the Mueller investigation was created in the first place was to try to create a flood of public opinion in favor of impeachment, a flood so overwhelming that even Republicans in congress could not resist it.

To achieve that, Mueller and the fake news media organs to which his team have leaked a steady stream of false reports would have had to drive the President’s job approval ratings down into the 20s.  But with President Trump’s approval ratings now sitting in the mid-40s – thanks to an unending stream of #WINNING – just 5 months before Election Day, that effort has obviously come up a crapper.

Given that obvious failure, what reason is there to keep going?  Keeping Paul Manafort in jail on a bunch of irrelevant charges?  Ok, but any U.S. attorney can take up that case.  Is the hopelessly inept hanger-on George Papadopoulous really a menace to society?  Please.  And be honest, Mueller is desperate to avoid even going to trial against Concorde Management and the other Russian nationals he indicted on transparently ridiculous charges.

So, given all of that, don’t be shocked if we do indeed see a final report from Mueller by the end of summer.  One thing’s for sure – this farce cannot end soon enough.

Just another day in it’s time for Mueller to end the farce America.

That is all.

Monday Will be a Very Bad Day for the Deep State Cabal

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

The liberal education bubble in action! – The Pantsuit Princess was given an award by Harvard University on Sunday for her “transformative impact on society.”  Wait, wait, wait – before you guffaw, or vomit at the absurdity of this, think it fully through.

The Coughing Crook has indeed had “transformative impacts” on our society.  Here are a few examples:

  • She “transformed” the U.S. State Department into a classic mob influence racket;
  • She “transformed” 20 percent of U.S. uranium supplies into Russian hands;
  • She and her husband “transformed” a charitable foundation into another mob influence racket;
  • She “transformed” the FBI into a full-fledged criminal enterprise.

But hey, it hasn’t been all bad.  At the end of the day, the Fainting Felon, more than anyone else, gave us Donald J. Trump as President.  Thanks, Hillary!

Today is going to be a big, big day. – I closed yesterday’s Campaign Update by point out that a tweet President Trump issued on Saturday indicated that he was considering taking the big step of declassifying some of the documents that DOJ and the FBI have been withholding from congress for many months.  Little did I know that that tweet was just the trickle of the presidential Twitter flood to come.

By noon Central Time, President Trump had issued a series of nine additional tweets, the text of which reads as follows, in the order in which they were posted:

  • Things are really getting ridiculous. The Failing and Crooked (but not as Crooked as Hillary Clinton) has done a long & boring story indicating that the World’s most expensive Witch Hunt has found nothing on Russia & me so now they are looking at the rest of the World!
  • ….At what point does this soon to be $20,000,000 Witch Hunt, composed of 13 Angry and Heavily Conflicted Democrats and two people who have worked for Obama for 8 years, STOP! They have found no Collussion with Russia, No Obstruction, but they aren’t looking at the corruption…
  • …in the Hillary Clinton Campaign where she deleted 33,000 Emails, got $145,000,000 while Secretary of State, paid McCabes wife $700,000 (and got off the FBI hook along with Terry M) and so much more. Republicans and real Americans should start getting tough on this Scam.
  • Now that the Witch Hunt has given up on Russia and is looking at the rest of the World, they should easily be able to take it into the Mid-Term Elections where they can put some hurt on the Republican Party. Don’t worry about Dems FISA Abuse, missing Emails or Fraudulent Dossier!
  • What ever happened to the Server, at the center of so much Corruption, that the Democratic National Committee REFUSED to hand over to the hard charging (except in the case of Democrats) FBI? They broke into homes & offices early in the morning, but were afraid to take the Server?
  • ….and why hasn’t the Podesta brother been charged and arrested, like others, after being forced to close down his very large and successful firm? Is it because he is a VERY well connected Democrat working in the Swamp of Washington, D.C.?
  • The Witch Hunt finds no Collusion with Russia – so now they’re looking at the rest of the World. Oh’ great!
  • I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes – and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!

Ok, let me catch my breath.  Where to begin?  First, let’s just concede that this was the most awesome tweetstorm in the history of tweetstorms.  In 9 tweets, containing a total of about 300 total words, the President of the United states pretty much summed up his own frustrations as well as the frustrations of about half of the country with regards to the obvious, blatant dual system of law enforcement – or lack thereof – that has been practiced within the FBI and DOJ for the past three years.

It is a dual standard, it is a witch hunt, it is a situation in which our ostensible law enforcement agencies are allowing obvious, blatant criminals to walk free on the streets and receive awards from universities like Harvard.  These are people who have betrayed our country, abused its institutions for massive personal monetary rewards, shared its highest secrets with the entire globe and who did their very best to outright steal a presidential election.

We also have a situation in which the conspirators within the FBI, DOJ and CIA who conspired to rig an election and then take down a president now fully admit that they did spy on the opposition party’s presidential campaign, and then repeatedly, bald-facedly lied about it all under oath to various congressional committees and, with the help of their media allies, to the public at large.

So, the President who was the target of the conspiracy is upset about it all?  Go figure.

The very sweaty Rod Rosenstein, whose ill-considered appointment of his pal Robert Mueller as Special Counsel marks one of the low points in all of this, responded to the President’s final tweet within a few hours by announcing he was instructing DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz to expand his investigation to include “whether the FBI held a political motive in the counterintelligence investigation,” i.e., their spying on the Trump Campaign.

Consider the specific wording of that sentence.  Why is it worded that way?  Because Horowitz has already been investigating the FBI spying operation for months.  Back on March 28, when Attorney General Jeff Sessions expanded the scope of the IG’s investigation, the authorization letter included this language: “As part of this examination, the OIG will also review information that was known to the DOJ and the FBI at the time the [FISA warrant] applications were filed from or about an alleged FBI confidential source.  Additionally, the IG will review the DOJ’s and the FBI’s relationship and communications with the alleged source as they relate to the FISC applications.”

Here’s what’s probably going to happen today, judging from the President’s tweets, which by the way were obviously drafted with help from his lawyers and probably Chief of Staff John Kelly:

  • Rosenstein’s reaction to add it all to the IG’s plate is a good start, but probably not enough.  The President may well ask for a second special counsel to be appointed, or perhaps demand that Sessions appoint a U.S. attorney to perform a criminal investigation of some of the obvious criminal activity that Mueller refuses to address;
  • The President may well also announce he is using his constitutional authority to declassify certain documents – such as the letters Rosenstein used to appoint Mueller and expand the scope of his investigation – that Rosenstein and the FBI have refused to provide to Congress;
  • If Mr. Trump takes such action, Rosenstein will in all likelihood offer his resignation, which the President would no doubt accept.

Then there’s Jeff Sessions, our seemingly too-often-absent Attorney General.  There are two common schools of thought about Mr. Sessions:

  • He’s just another deep state operative and will never do anything to bring the real criminals in all of this to justice; or
  • He’s been carefully biding his time, awaiting the issuance of the IG reports and doing everything by the book before springing his carefully-constructed trap on the nation’s enemies.  He’s had Utah U.S. Attorney John Huber investigating all of this in coordination with Horowitz, and indictments and trials will follow shortly after the IG’s work is complete and relevant criminal referrals have been made.

I want to believe the latter scenario about Sessions is the case, because if it isn’t, then all is lost and none of this matters.  If the latter is the case, then things are about to come to a head very, very quickly.  If the first scenario is true about Sessions, then we may see him either resign or be fired outright this week as well.  Because the President has had enough of this crap, and really, who can blame him?

Boom.

Just another day in some of you laughed last Friday when I told you things were about to move very, very quickly America.

That is all.

McCain’s Pettiness, Kerry’s Mendacity and Mueller’s Pettifoggery

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Bitter, petty and mean until his dying breath. – John McCain is settling old grudges in his final days, telling friends (who then leaked it all to the New York Times) that a) he wants Mike Pence to come to his funeral, but not President Trump, b) he wants Barack Obama to deliver a eulogy at his funeral, and c) he regrets choosing Sarah Palin to be his running mate in 2008.  Anyone surprised by any of this hasn’t been paying much attention to John McCain’s behavior over the last four decades.

Bitter, mendacious, and disloyal to the bitter end. – Meanwhile, John Kerry, 2004’s failed candidate for President and the failed Secretary of State who helped Barack Obama sell out America and Israel in the horrible executive agreement with Iran,  was revealed to have spent the past week in what loving liberals in the fake news media call “shadow diplomacy” and what any thinking person calls violations of the Logan Act.  Kerry has been running all over the place, meeting with officials from Iran and other countries in a desperate effort to salvage his pathetic, un-American legacy.

The Logan Act, of course, is an antiquated law that prevents private U.S. citizens from interfering with the foreign policy of the sitting president and his administration.  The law dates to the 18th century, and has never been enforced – if it had been, then people like Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Jesse Jackson would all be serving time in Leavenworth right now.

So what’s the point here?  Well, if you remember the 10 days during which Obama minion Sally Yates served as acting Attorney General, she actually wanted to prosecute a genuine American hero, General Mike Flynn, for Logan Act violations because he was making introductory phone calls to leaders of other countries during the presidential transition, something every presidential transition team has done since the invention of the freaking telephone.  Every liberal talking head on CNN and MSNBC cheered Yates’s effort.

Trust me, you’re not going to see Sally Yates or any other liberal talking head advocating the charging of John Kerry with violations of the Logan Act for his latest acts of mendacity against our country.  Because liberal outrage is purely transactional.

Are we sure Robert Mueller is even qualified for his job? – Our jack-booted Special Counsel and his band of Clinton/Obama thugs suffered a second consecutive very bad day in court on Saturday, as yet another federal judge ruled against them, this time in a request for a trial delay.

Remember back on a Friday in February, when the very oily Rod Rosenstein held a hasty press conference to breathlessly announce that Mueller was issuing hilariously bogus indictments of 13 Russian defendants for conducting “social media warfare” on the U.S. during the 2016 campaign?  Remember how we speculated at the time that this was all done purely for show, an effort to influence public opinion, but safe in the belief that they’d never have to try to prove their goofy case in court because none of these defendants would ever show up for trial?

Yeah, that didn’t exactly work out for Rosenstein and Mueller.  See, one of the Russian defendants, a company called Concord Management, decided to show up and defend itself, pleading not guilty to all charges.  Hey, that’s not how this was all supposed to work, was it?

Suddenly, Mueller and his thugs find themselves in the uncomfortable position of having to demonstrate how 13 defendants somehow tilted a national election in a nation of 315 million people in favor of Donald Trump essentially by creating a bunch of fake accounts to send out messages on Twitter and Facebook on a total expenditure of a few million dollars.  That’s going to be sort of tough to prove, especially given that the messaging sent out from those fake accounts was both anti-Clinton and anti-Trump.

So the Mueller/Rosenstein strategy here was to delay, and they filed a delay request with the judge in the case, Trump appointee Dabney Friedrich, citing questions about whether or not Concord had ever been properly served in the case, a novel claim coming as it does from the prosecution.  The lawyers for Concord opposed the delay, saying the question of proper service is irrelevant and they are ready to go, and their client has a right to a speedy trial under the Constitution.

The lawyers hilariously said that “the briefing sought by the Special Counsel’s motion is pettifoggery,” and said that Mueller and his team of thugs are not entitled to their own “special rules.”

Unlike any Obama appointee, Judge Friedrich has actually read the Constitution, and thus agreed with the defense. So, either we will soon get to see the spectacle of how Mueller’s evil minions try to prove such obviously fake charges,  Mueller will decide to dismiss the case against Concord, or he and his minions will try to get their delay by appealing up the chain of courts.

I’m betting on the latter, but it sure would be fun to see this sham go to trial.

Just another day in the conspiracy to take down President Trump is falling apart America.

That is all.

Robert Mueller is Really Desperate to Get Fired

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Robert Mueller really, really, really wants to get fired. – As if we needed any more proof of that reality facing President Trump, Mueller provided more last night, having someone on his staff leak a document to the New York Times which the Times claims contains a list of the questions Mueller is just itching to pose to the President.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the questions “relate to possible obstruction of justice, demonstrating how an investigation into Russia’s election meddling grew to include an examination of the president’s conduct in office. Among them are queries on any discussions Trump had about his attempts to fire Mueller himself and what the president knew about possible pardon offers to Flynn.”

In other words, Mueller long ago gave up on the fantasy that there was any “collusion” between the Trump campaign and the Russians, and has been on a 10-month fishing expedition for some evidence that the President himself “obstructed justice”.  Apparently, Mueller considers even a discussion about firing him to be “obstruction of justice”, a prospect so Nazi-like in its concept that it should chill any thinking  American (yes, every one of you non-Democrats) to the bone.

On the other hand, Mueller’s focus on a “crime” that noted constitutional scholar and very liberal Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz has repeatedly said no sitting President can even commit in the firing or contemplated firing of any employee is very encouraging for Mr. Trump.   It conclusively proves that Mueller is holding a gigantic bag of nothing and is attempting to get Trump to fire him in order to provoke a debate in congress over impeachment.

For his part, the President is a little ticked about it all, as he issued the following tweet as I was compiling this morning’s Campaign Update:

Yes, it is quite disgraceful, but it’s also quite transparent in its motivation, and so this tweet should be the entirety of the presidential response to Mueller’s action.

We should also remember here that the President recently brought Rudy Giuliani into his legal team to negotiate an end to this sham investigation with Mueller.  It is likely that Mueller’s decision to leak this list to the media signals some dissatisfaction with the status of that negotiation, and is designed to pressure Giuliani on some point.  Another sign of desperation on Mueller’s part.

But back to the point above about impeachment.  Whenever some seemingly-significant event related to the Mueller sham investigation takes place, it’s always important to keep in mind that, ultimately, that investigation and the seditious conspiracy involving high officials from the DOJ, FBI and the Obama intelligence community leading up to it was always designed to accomplish one of two outcomes:

  • First, to create such a high degree of chaos within the administration during its early days that Trump would be pressured to resign – which is exactly why you saw the most recent season of the Showtime series Homeland end the way it did;
  • Failing in that first goal, the backup goal has always been to build up some sort of a case for impeachment, on the hopes that the Democrats will be able to win a majority in the House of Representatives in the midterm elections.

There is no doubt that the conspiracy to take down a duly-elected president did succeed in at least part of Goal #1:  It did create an amazing amount of chaos within the administration, and its willing participants in the fake news media did create a lot of external pressure on the President to resign.  The fatal flaw in this goal, however, was that the conspirators assumed Trump would react to all of this the same way prior presidents have reacted to the pressure of partisan special counsel investigations:  By panicking and pulling in his sails.

Instead, Trump reacted simply by ratcheting up the pressure from his own end, taking his case to the people, and achieving more notable public policy goals during his first year in office than any president in American history.  Probably 80% of the anti-American legacy of Barack Obama has been repealed, taxes have been massively cut, the economy is booming, and America is once again a true world power on the international stage.

This latest desperate act by Mueller comes at a time when the President’s personal conduct of foreign policy has resulted in the formal end to the 67 year-old Korean conflict, is moving strongly towards the de-nuclearization of the Korean peninsula, is gaining huge trade concessions from our international trading partners, and is about to either significantly reset the horrific, anti-American Obama deal with Iran that endangers the entire Middle East or end the U.S. participation in it.

So Robert Mueller desperately wants to get fired in a last-ditch attempt to create a case for impeachment.

That tweet was great, Mr. President.  Now, just go on about your business of winning the Nobel Peace Prize and let Rudy go about his business of ending the witch hunt.  Today’s a great day.

Just another day in the Mueller gun is out of bullets America.

That is all.

Jeff Sessions Don’t Need No Stinking Second Special Counsel

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Three weeks ago, on March 8, I pointed out that Attorney General Jeff Sessions had dropped a little bomb into the mix, one that hardly anyone in the fake news media managed to notice, when he told Fox News’s Shannon Bream that:

“I have appointed a person outside of Washington, many years in the Department of Justice (DOJ), to look at all the allegations that the House Judiciary Committee members sent to us; and we’re conducting that investigation.”

At that time, the Attorney General gave no indication as to the identity of this “person outside of Washington,” but it was reasonable to conclude that said person was investigating the myriad very credible allegations that various members of the anti-Trump cabal within the FBI and Department of Justice had violated the FISA law during and after the 2016 presidential campaign.

Lo and behold, in the midst of a growing cacophony of demands by Republican members of congress that Sessions appoint a second special counsel to investigate the FISA abuse scandal, on Thursday Sessions sent a letter to congress in which he unveiled the name of that non-Washington person:  U.S. Attorney John W. Huber, who is based in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Even better, the AG reminded congress that, in a letter way back last November 13, Assistant AG Stephen Boyd had already notified the legislative branch that Mr. Huber’s investigation was well underway:

Uh, well, all the Republicans in congress apparently failed to read that one.  No one in the fake news media gave it any notice, either.  But there it is, in black and white.

Oh, but it gets even better.  In his letter yesterday, Sessions also let it be known that Huber has been conducting his investigation in cooperation with…wait for it…Inspector General Michael Horowitz.  Another bomb dropped.

Hey, it gets even better than that.  It is probably not a coincidence that the Sessions letter to congress comes on the same day that fired ex-Deputy FBI Director and key anti-Trump cabal member Andrew McCabe created a legal defense fund for himself.   (Let’s all note the irony of a career federal employee who has somehow cobbled together a net worth of more than $11 million while making a government salary asking the little people to pay his high-powered lawyers for him.)

Nor is it likely a coincidence that McCabe’s move comes on the day after a Minneapolis FBI agent, Terry Albury, was indicted for – guess what? – criminal leaking to the news media, the same crime McCabe committed and lied at least four times about to the Inspector General and the Office of Professional Responsibility.  But of course, most of the fake news media completely missed this part of the story, and all the connections detailed above.

Instead, the Usual Suspects in America’s grand pantheon of fake media outlets are portraying the Thursday Sessions letter to congress as if Sessions is basically refusing to do anything, complete with quotes from angry Republicans who also aren’t connecting these dots condemning the AG for refusing to appoint another Special Counsel.

The reality, as is generally the case with our fake news media, is exactly the opposite.  As I pointed out when Sessions dropped his bomb on March 8, you have to look at all of this from the AG’s point of view.  After all, he has an ongoing investigation that has been underway for months, since at least last November and probably well before then.  Why would he interrupt all that work that’s already been done by appointing some new guy to come in, take weeks or months to get organized, and then go over all the same ground that’s already been covered by Mr. Huber and his staff, working as they are in conjunction with IG Horowitz and his staff of 470 people?

Given the manner in which the law has been abused against Republicans over the years, Sessions most likely has a proper disdain for the special counsel law in general, and is reluctant to use it unless it becomes absolutely necessary.  Robert Mueller’s conduct in his assignment thus far has only given thinking Americans much more cause to regard the law as the American Prosecutorial Abuse Act that it is.  Why create another monster using that law when you already have an investigation that has been underway for months, one that may very well already have a grand jury convened and be preparing to issue indictments when the IG’s report from his own investigation is made public?

If you want to politicize the process – as Rod Rosenstein did – then you appoint a Special Counsel and let him spend months and years abusing people’s rights in the pursuit of an array of irrelevant process crimes and indictments of foreign nationals who will never be brought to trial.  But if you want to bring people to justice for real crimes against this country, AG Sessions obviously believes the best way to do it is within the confines and processes of the justice system as it was set up in the U.S. constitution.

Some are speculating that what Sessions really has Huber and Horowitz doing is laying the groundwork for the appointment of a second special counsel after the Horowitz report has been released.  I don’t agree with that, for the reasons laid out above.  Working together, Huber and Horowitz have every power possessed by a special counsel:  Given that, why would the AG reinvent the wheel just at the cusp of issuing indictments and perp-walking the wrongdoers?  Makes no sense to me.

What does make logical sense is that Sessions believes his Justice Department is capable of actually doing its mandated job.  It’s sort of amazing that people who call themselves conservatives object to that approach.

Just another day in Jeff Sessions don’t need no stinking second special counsel America.

That is all.

Jeff Sessions Dropped a Bomb – Hardly Anyone Noticed

The Evening Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

I’ve been traveling this week, so I just noticed this myself this afternoon.  In an interview with Fox New’s Shannon Bream Wednesday night, Attorney General Jeff Sessions dropped a bomb when, after asked about allegations that officials within the FBI and the DOJ had violated the FISA process in order to spy on the Trump Campaign, he said the following:

“I have appointed a person outside of Washington, many years in the Department of Justice (DOJ), to look at all the allegations that the House Judiciary Committee members sent to us; and we’re conducting that investigation.”

Wait, what?  When did that happen?  Why all the secrecy?  What is this person’s name?  What else might the person be looking at?  Here are some thoughts on what the answers to those questions might be.

First, you have to look at this from Sessions’ point of view:  He leads the DOJ, and thus the FBI as well.  Having his own DOJ lawyers investigate the FBI and DOJ anti-Trump cabal’s abuses would present a clear conflict of interest, as I pointed out last week.

My bet is that he took this action after he became aware of potential FISA abuses shortly after he assumed office in March of last year.  At that point, during his first briefing with DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz, he would have been made aware of the IG’s investigation into the FISA and other related matters, and thus would have become aware that he had a set of truly bad actors in his midst.  That is likely something Sessions already suspected, since it had become obvious during his confirmation hearing that he had personally been under illegal surveillance, but a briefing from Horowitz would have confirmed that reality.

Sessions would not have wanted to formally appoint a special counsel at that time, because that is a very public act, one which requires the public identification of the person who was being named.  Remember also that, at that time, Horowitz’s own investigation had only been up and running for a few months, meaning that some of the bad actors we know about today had not yet been identified, or had cases fully developed against them.

Formally appointing a special counsel at that time would have given all of these people the chance to either flee, cover their tracks, or even lawyer up before cases could have been fully developed.  Remember that we have only begun to publicly find out people like Strzok, Ohr, Page, McCabe and Baker since the first of  December.  Remember also that the disciplinary actions taken against them have been designed to keep them close and controlled.

It is also very interesting to note that none of these and others who have been identified as bad actors have been quoted in the press at all.  This is in direct contrast to James Comey, who went around leaking and singing like a jaybird for a few months after President Trump fired his sorry butt, and who is about to release a book next month.

This silence by the other bad actors most likely means one of two things:  Either these people have lawyered up and are keeping quiet to protect themselves in preparation for being prosecuted, or they are actually cooperating with Horowitz and Sessions’ unnamed outside lawyer in their ongoing investigations.

The quote from Mr. Sessions is a clever reference to the fact that he has had an outside prosecutor working on all of this stuff for quite some time now.  It is also most likely another move to set the stage for the impending release of IG Horowitz’s own report.  Unlike Horowitz, this unidentified special prosecutor would have the power to convene a grand jury – and may have already done so – and quickly begin issuing subpoenas based on the recommendations contain in the Horowitz report.

Thus, Sessions next statement from the interview:

I am well aware we have a responsibility to insure the integrity of the FISA process. We’re not afraid to look at that. The inspector general — some think that our inspector general is not very strong; but he has almost 500 [employees], most of which are lawyers and prosecutors; and they are looking at the FISA process. We must make sure that it’s done properly, and we’re going to do that. And I’ll consider their request.

He’ll not only consider their request, he’s had a special prosecutor preparing the playing field for quick action on those requests for months now.

Clever.  Boom.

That is all.

The Mueller Coup d’etat Unwinds a Little More

  • Heck, I didn’t know he’d gone anywhere. – The UK Metro is reporting this morning that the “comeback album” for white rapper Eminem – the natural inheritor of the proud legacy of the great Vanilla Ice (ok, I’m JK) – is not being well-received by what I have no doubt is his legion of fans.  The British writer says that the collection of what I guess are ‘songs’ is getting “quite a whammy of negative comments.”  And that just breaks my heart.  Can you tell?
  • I had no idea you could take the over/under bet on whether or not we go to war. – Senator Lindsey Graham is apparently angling for a future career as a Las Vegas bookmaker.  “I would say there’s a three in 10 chance we use the military option,” Graham predicted in an interview with a fake reporter at The Atlantic. If the North Koreans conduct an additional test of a nuclear bomb—their seventh—“I would say 70 percent.”  So, if any of you are out in Vegas this weekend, put $100 down for me on the under.  I’ll pay you back.  No, really, seriously, I’m good for it.
  • Is there an over/under on the Mueller Investigation ever finding any evidence of actual “collusion”? – The slow-rolling coup d’etat led by Robert Mueller continued its unraveling on Thursday, as Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Ron Johnson (R-WI) released documents showing that the statement given by former FBI Director James Comey in July 2016, which “exonerated” Princess Pantsuit of wrongdoing in her blatantly illegal emailing activities was heavily edited.  More to the point, it was heavily edited and watered down during early May, two full months before Comey had even bothered to interview the Coughing Crook or about a dozen other key witnesses in the case.
  • The original text of the memo, written by Comey himself, states several times that the Fainting Felon was guilty of “gross negligence” in her handling of classified emails.  That’s important because, in the federal statutes, “gross negligence” in handling classified information happens to be a crime.  But the edits watered that charge down to “extreme carelessness”, to which the governing federal statues make no reference.  Voila!, the Cackling Candidate was magically exonerated.
  • The revelation of this editing process within a highly-politicized FBI does deep damage to the already tattered reputation of James Comey, who just happens to be a key witness in the Mueller witch hunt.  After all, the entire basis used by the oily Rod Rosenstein for the appointment of Mueller in the first place was Comey’s illegal leaking of his meeting notes to the New York Times for publication.  If Comey lied to the American people about what he had found during the Clinton investigation and when he found it, and lied to multiple congressional committees during testimony on the same subject matter, why would anyone believe anything else he has to say?  The man is obviously a skunk and a snake, the very worst kind of DC Swamp creature, which I told you all he was back in July 2016.
  • Coming as it does on the heels of so many other revelations this week about various players in the Mueller coup d’etat staff, even some hardcore Democrats are starting to come to the realization that Mueller’s own credibility has been irrevocably damaged.  One such hardcore Democrat is Mark Penn, who served as the head pollster for Bill Clinton, and also worked on Princess Pantsuit’s senate campaign.
  • Appearing on Fox News last night, Penn told host Martha MacCallum that he believes both Mueller and the FBI face a “crisis in public confidence.”  Penn cited a recent poll conducted by Harvard in which 54% of respondents agreed that Mueller himself has conflicts of interest that prevent him from conducting himself fairly, and a whopping 63% believe the FBI is stonewalling congress.  He also noted that this poll was conducted before this week’s flood of new revelations about the horrific behavior of FBI super agent Peter Strzok and various other players on the Mueller coup staff.
  • Folks, our country is in a major crisis.  It is in that crisis because the utterly corrupted leadership at the FBI and various intelligence agencies during the Obama Administration set themselves up as a de facto fourth branch of government, a branch unaccountable to anyone.  The evidence we now have at hand clearly shows that, early in 2016, that fourth branch engaged itself in a focused conspiracy in coordination with the Clinton Campaign and the DNC to try to deny Donald Trump the presidency.  After Trump won the election last November, that conspiracy morphed into a focused  effort to undermine him and to ultimately remove him from office.
  • The Harvard poll cited by Mr. Penn shows that, despite the best efforts of the fake news media to avoid reporting these realities, a clear majority of Americans have begun to figure this all out.  This is a big problem for Mr. Rosenstein and Mr. Mueller, because the flood of revelations isn’t going to slow down anytime soon,  and they really haven’t left themselves any easy way to end the conspiracy they’ve been leading without their own culpability being fully revealed.
  • The next few months are going to be a very interesting and perilous time for our country.  Better buckle up.

Just another day in the Coup keeps unwinding America.

That is all.

Mueller’s Gestapo Tactics Only Reinforce The Reasons Why Trump Won in 2016

  • This stuff is why Trump is President. – If nothing else good comes of it, Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation is serving as a stark reminder to all Trump voters of why they voted for him.  The President himself reminded the nation on Monday morning that, while General Mike Flynn has been indicted for making false statements to investigators, Hillary Clinton was awarded a free pass by former FBI Director James Comey in July 2016, after she had made a raft of false statements during her FBI interview.  This morning, the Daily Caller reminds us that Clinton’s two senior aides, Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills also gave heinously misleading testimony to FBI investigators, again with no consequences.
  • Of all the myriad reasons why Trump voters decided in 2016 that the DC Swamp needed draining and Trump was just the guy to do it, this kind of selective application of the law was probably reason #1.  Robert Mueller and James Comey obviously believe that America has a bifurcated legal system – one system for the hundreds of millions of ordinary American citizen rabble out here in flyover country, and another for members in good standing of the Ruling Class, like Hillary, Huma and Cheryl.  This makes perfect sense to Mueller and Comey, since they are the de facto henchmen for that Ruling Class.
  • Those of you who are wondering why it is that the voters in Alabama appear to be set on sending Roy Moore to the U.S. Senate in spite of all the women accusers arrayed against him, it’s mainly because they know that his opponent, Democrat Doug Jones, would go to Washington and become just another reliable lapdog for the Swamp rulers.  These voters know that, whatever Moore may have done back during the Carter and Reagan Administrations, he plans to go to DC to help Trump clean the damn place out.  There’s really no more to it than that.
  • Speaking of Mueller’s absurd Special Counsel “investigation”, it appears now he has completely abandoned any effort at all to investigate the Democrat/fake news media invented fantasy of the Trump camp “colluding” with Russia to influence the election.  Writing in the National Review, Andrew McCarthy, himself  a former federal prosecutor, believes that the Flynn plea deal means that Mueller’s grand strategy now is to build an obstruction of justice case against the President.
  • Given that the President really can’t be prosecuted for obstructing justice, since, as Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz pointed out on Fox News on Monday, he is the chief law enforcement officer of the United States, Mueller’s new focus means he is not working to actually bring charges against President Trump.  Rather, he is working to build a case for impeachment by congress.
  • If that’s really the strategy from the Special Counsel’s office, it simply points up how critical the 2018 mid-term congressional elections really are.  If American voters award control of either house of congress to the Democrats, then our country will literally become paralyzed for two solid years as the hyper-partisan Dems do literally nothing but try to impeach a sitting President for “crimes” that simply do not exist.
  • Another big leftist hope making the rounds of the internet currently is that Mueller may be trying to build a case against Trump for violating the Logan Act, for asking Flynn to make contact with Russia while he was still President-elect.  Here is the relevant text of the 1799 Logan Act:
  • “Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
  • Now, here’s why the Logan Act, in its 218 year life, has never, not one time, resulted in a prosecution of anyone:  If you take that text literally, John McCain alone would have been found guilty of violating the Logan Act half a dozen times since Trump took office, and probably 50 times during the presidency of George W. Bush, as McCain has made a frequent habit of making speeches in foreign lands that are highly critical of U.S. foreign policy, but only during Republican Administrations.  Liberal hero Ted Kennedy wrote letters to Soviet Union leaders, actively seeking their intervention in the 1984 elections against Ronald Reagan.  On and on and on this list could go.
  • If Mueller really is working on a Logan Act case, then everyone on the White House should be breaking out the champagne and celebrating, because that cat won’t flush.
  • The bottom line here is that the whole “Russia Collusion” fantasy play is officially dead.  By mounting his incredibly biased, highly-selective “investigation” in such a public way, Robert Mueller is only reinforcing support for President Trump among those who voted for him in 2016.  Mueller has now replaced Mitch McConnell as the official poster child for the movement out here in flyover country to clean out the DC Swamp.  If the President fired him tomorrow, there is not a single Trump supporter at this point who would bat an eye about it, because they know who the bad guy in this fantasy play really is.

Just another day in Ding, Dong, Russia Collusion Is Dead America.

That is all.

Sessions’ Involvement of Rosenstein Dooms The Preliminary Uranium One Inquiry to Failure

Today’s Campaign Update

  • I have some good news, and I have some bad news for you all today.
  • The first bit of good news is that scientists have announced that they have discovered “the world’s oldest wine” in fragments of clay jars at an archaeological site near Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia.  Upon hearing of the find, Wine Spectator immediately awarded the 8,000 year old wine a grade of 95, saying it has  hints of must with little flecks of clay throughout and a decidedly vinegary finish.
  • There is no good news for Alabama senate candidate Roy Moore.  If you’re still out there defending Mr. Moore, despite the allegations that keep piling up against him, you might want to take a step back.  Yes, this stinks of a political hit job by the fake journalists at the Washington Post.  Yes, the latest accuser’s decision to associate herself with the despicable Gloria Allred is a red flag.  Yes, all of these allegations happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.  But…
  • But despite all of those warning signals and red flags and evil lawyers, you need to keep in mind that the original story in the WaPo did not rely solely on the statements from the four women involved.  The reporters who filed the report also talked to dozens of other locals, many of whom told the same story of then-County Attorney/District Attorney Roy Moore dating a series of girls who were still in high school.  If the spectre of a guy in his 30s hanging around high school dances and diners where high school students congregated or worked at the time picking up girls isn’t enough to tip you off, there’s also the fact that, in his now-famous interview with Sean Hannity last Friday, Moore would not deny dating high school girls while in his 30s, repeating a Bill Clinton-ish non-denial that it “would have been outside of my normal behavior.”  Folks, that means “yes”.
  • And if all of that isn’t enough to tip you off that something very odd was going on with Mr. Moore back during the Carter Administration, then consider that the tireless Donald Trump supporter Judge Jeanine Pirro, on Hannity’s TV show last night, went completely off on Judge Moore, based on the reality that we now have five completely unconnected women independently telling contemporaneous stories of the same odd behavior.
  • Mr. Moore may still win his election because the WaPo has long ago surrendered the last shred of credibility with most of the people of Alabama, but if this were a court case, he’d pretty much be toast right now.
  • But the big news of the day on Monday came late in the afternoon, when it was reported that our thus-far useless Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, may have finally received enough pressure from GOP members of congress and others to do the right thing in the Uranium One scandal.  Maybe.  The report – which must be taken with a grain of salt since it also comes from the WaPo – claims that Mr. Sessions is “considering” the appointment of a second special counsel to investigate what was an obvious sale of 20% of America’s uranium assets to Russian interests in exchange for well over $100 million in bribes…er, “contributions” to the Clinton Foundation from those same Russian entities.
  • But don’t get overly excited yet.  Even if the WaPo story is true, all it really says is that General Sessions has directed some DOJ “investigators” to look into the various allegations of wrongdoing and report back to him and his highly suspect Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein with recommendations as to whether a special counsel is warranted for this case.  Note that it took the eager Mr. Rosenstein about 3 seconds to appoint his old running buddy Robert Mueller to “investigate” allegations of Russian collusion when they targeted a sitting President, but we must have a formal, weeks-long preliminary “investigation” when the allegations involve the Clintons and Obamas.  But that’s not the only problem with Rosenstein’s involvement in this review.
  • We must also remember that Rosenstein, at the time the Russians were throwing millions into the Clinton Foundation and allegedly bribing all sorts of other people to get their uranium concession approved by the Obama Administration, was actually a U.S. attorney who was involved in the original fake investigation of the matter, along with …wait for it…oh, you gotta wait for this one…none other than ROBERT MUELLER, who was then the Director of the FBI.
  • So now, while Mueller, thanks to Rosenstein’s appointment, is occupied with conducting what many view as a slow-rolling coup d’etat in his special counsel “investigation”, the Attorney General has decided to also involve Rosenstein, who participated in the fake investigation of Uranium One six years ago, in the decision-making over whether to conduct a real investigation into the matter.  I’ll give you one guess as to what Rosenstein’s recommendation to the AG will inevitably be.
  • So, the good news is that Mr. Sessions has decided to at least make a token effort to do the right thing in at least one of the various major scandals swirling around Hillary Clinton.  The bad news is that, unless Sessions suddenly finds the previously-undisplayed guts to overrule his swamp creature Deputy AG, a token is all this effort will be.  A real Attorney General who was really interested in doing his job would force Rosenstein to recuse himself from this inquiry, citing his obvious conflicts of interest.

Just another day in cleaning out the DC Swamp ain’t easy America.

That is all.
