Sunday News Roundup: Fact-checkers Disappear as Dems Lard up the ‘Stimulus’ Bill With Pork

I write at length in another piece this morning about the media smear of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for putting his state’s elderly population first in line to receive the COVID vaccines. But that is far from the only media smear of DeSantis happening right now.

The Florida Governor is also being smeared for…wait for it…his efforts to ensure election integrity! No kidding:

From the story at BigLeaguePolitics:

Florida had the most transparent and efficient election anywhere in the country,” DeSantis said. “Other states took days, weeks, and even months to count their votes. And yet Florida, by midnight on election night, we had 99% reporting and 11 million votes counted, tabulated, and put out to the public.”

Florida’s legislature had moved to reform the state’s election practices in the interests of reporting brevity and election integrity following the disputed 2000 presidential election. The results of Florida’s presidential election were available and clear on election night in November, with other states implementing mass-in voting for the first time struggling to report results for several days or even weeks.

DeSantis’ proposal wouldn’t eliminate mail-in voting in Florida. It would merely require every voter who wishes to vote by mail to request a mail-in ballot every election, as opposed to mailing millions of ballots without verifying addresses and identities.

Under the package, only someone’s family member could drop off their ballot, in a move designed to prevent suspect political front groups from “harvesting” ballots. This would establish a clear chain of custody from the voter to the state without unnecessary third parties.

The comprehensive package would also require counties and municipalities to make election results public and transparent in timely fashion.

[End]

You just can’t make this stuff up, folks.

But wait, there’s more!

DeSantis is also under fire this weekend for taking this action on Friday:

That’s right: He’s the only governor in the country who is paying appropriate tribute to the single most influential media figure in our nation’s history. So naturally, the DC/New York Democrat media propaganda machine – who all hated Rush – are up in arms smearing DeSantis over this move, too.

If that doesn’t convince you that DeSantis is right at the top of potential GOP presidential nominees for 2024, then you aren’t paying attention. Assuming Donald Trump chooses not to make another bid, DeSantis is in fact the most likely to become the nominee at this moment in time.

I’m old enough to remember when a U.S. President got blamed for every one of these deaths by the corrupt national news media. – Yeah, but that was a month ago. Now that a Democrat sock puppet is in office, he won’t get blamed for the fact that more than 100,000 Americans supposedly died from COVID-19 during the first month of his presidency:

That, of course, is according to the official count, which we have all known for almost a year now is radically overblown. But still, 100,000 in a month seems like a lot, doesn’t it? Seems like something CNN and MSNBC and all of your local news stations would maybe take a moment to note, and maybe even display ticker at the bottom of the screen as a constant reminder. Right?

But all of those tickers have magically disappeared now, gone the moment China Joe Biden was sworn into the presidency. Funny how that works.

Guess what else has magically disappeared from the corrupt news media? – If you said “fact-checkers,” you win the prize. Remember how CNN, MSNBC, the Washington Post, the New York Times and all the alphabet broadcast networks had full-time presidential fake fact-checkers on staff to obsess over every word a certain ex-president had to say?

Yeah, they’re all gone now:

From the story at Mediaite:

CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale was one of the busiest people in the cable news business for several years, but he has almost completely disappeared from the network’s programming over the past month or so. What happened?

Dale became a veritable household name among cable news viewers during Trump’s presidency after his work for the Toronto Star, tallying and debunking false or misleading statements by Trump, landed him a national gig with CNN.

Since joining CNN in June of 2019, Dale has appeared or been mentioned on the network more than once every other day on average, according to the Internet Archive.

That exposure dropped sharply after November 4, and according to the TV Eyes media monitoring database, since President Joe Biden’s inauguration on January 20, Dale has only appeared on the network once. And that appearance, last Friday, was to fact-check Donald Trump’s lawyers.

[End]

That’s right: CNN’s “fact-checker” has made only one on-air appearance since China Joe was installed into the White House, and that was to “fact-check” lawyers for Donald Trump.

Nevermind that you could have kept an army of fact-checkers busy for a full week just to correct all the rank BS Biden spewed during his CNN town hall last week with Cooper Anderson, er, Anderson Cooper, that job will not be available for the next four years because it doesn’t fit neatly into the agenda of the Democrat Party and its army of operatives who infest the national news media.

*sigh*

What’s the most predictable thing in the world? – Democrats pushing pork.

That’s what they’re doing in this $1.9 trillion “stimulus” bill – larding it up with hundreds of billions of dollars in wasteful spending on leftist political projects:

From the story at RedState.com:

House Democrats finally released their long-awaited $1.9 trillion Wuhan coronavirus relief bill.

It probably wouldn’t take a rocket scientist to predict that it would be packed full of goodies for the friends of Democrats like the prior “relief” bills, seeming less about “relief” to help desperate Americans and more like doling out pork for pet causes.

Same song, 10,000th verse from your Democrat Party. Some things never change.

That is all.

The DC/New York Media Establishment is Scared to Death of Ron DeSantis and Ted Cruz

How do you know when the corrupt news media is scared to death of any Republican politician? – When they start making up fake scandals about him or her.

That is of course what the corrupt hacks serving as Democrat toadies throughout our despicable national media establishment have been doing to Ron DeSantis since he became Governor of the Sunshine State in January 2019. None of them have stuck because he’s a clean guy running a clean administration, but that still does not stop the fake reporters and editors in the DC/New York media Democrat propaganda arm from trying.

This week saw yet another fake scandal materialize in the media’s never-ending efforts to damage the guy they obviously consider to be among the strongest likely contenders for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination. Check out this tweet from the depraved hacks who run MSNBC:

Here’s a little snippet from that insane story:

Florida’s governor was slow to respond to the pandemic and his Covid-19 vaccine distribution plan has been marked by chaos, but critics say he’s been quick to recognize the political gold in those precious doses.

Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, ignored federal guidelines and prioritized getting senior citizens — one of Florida’s most potent voting blocs — vaccinated first.

When Holocaust survivors and Cuban survivors of the Bay of Pigs debacle — revered members of two other key Florida voting blocs — got their first shots, DeSantis made sure he was there for the news conferences.

And now the governor stands accused of using the Covid-19 vaccine to reward powerful political supporters and developers by setting up pop-up vaccination sites in planned communities they developed and where GOP voters predominate.

Responding to recent criticism from both Republican and Democrats in Manatee and Charlotte counties, both south of Tampa, where one site was set up last week and another began dispensing doses on Wednesday, DeSantis said local lawmakers should be more grateful

“I’ll tell you what, I wouldn’t be complaining,” the governor said. “I’d be thankful that we are able to do it.”

[End]

So, understand what’s happening here: Gov. DeSantis is being smeared for the sin of refusing to prioritize vaccines based on the race/gender/LGBTQ priorities preferred by the Democrats and the media. Instead, he is prioritizing elderly Americans, regardless of race/gender/sexual orientation or BLM stamp of approval to be the first to receive the shots.

Why? BECAUSE THEY ARE THE MOST VULNERABLE SEGMENT OF OUR POPULATION TO THE VIRAL GIFT FROM CHINA.

Honest to God, that’s what this smear is all about. If you think that’s despicable and depraved and more than a little bit demented and disgraceful, well, that’s all the proof you need to know that everyone pushing this smear in the media is in fact a Democrat operative.

Note also how the story begins with this first completely false smear: “Florida’s governor was slow to respond to the pandemic…”

DeSantis was in fact among the quickest to respond the pandemic in his state. How did he respond? By moving to protect the elderly, especially elderly residents in his state’s nursing homes and assisted living communities, so many of whom moved to Florida from New York for their retirements.

Those who moved are the lucky New Yorkers, since the Governor of that state, Andrew Cuomo, sentenced thousands of elderly nursing home patients to their deaths through his insane policy choices related to COVID.

But the media has chosen to lionize Cuomo for the past year, while at the same time endlessly harassing DeSantis, the guy who made sure his elderly residents had the very best chance of living through the pandemic, and is now making sure they are among the first to be inoculated. DeSantis’s choice to focus efforts on the most vulnerable segments of his state’s population is in fact the very reason why the Democrat media hacks hate him and continue to harass him.

Yes, that is insane. But that is what our utterly corrupt national news media does for Democrats.

For more proof of exactly how despicable the media truly is, let’s close this piece with this tweet:

That’s right: The Washington Post has now run 27 separate stories about Ted Cruz’s family vacation, but just 2 on Cuomo’s mass killings of elderly New Yorkers and his efforts to cover them up.

That’s the very definition of despicable.

That is all.

Tuesday News Roundup: A UniParty Impeachment Deal, and Why Ron DeSantis Must Lead the GOP Resistance

Today’s Short-Term Memory Update – Just a reminder that we are now less than 3 weeks away from the 365-day anniversary of “15 Days to Flatten the Curve.”

BREAKING: The UniParty has reached a deal with itself! – The Democrats’ latest impeachment scam attacking Donald Trump is set to start today, as UniParty leaders Democan Chuck Schumer and Republicrat Mitch McConnell reached a deal on what the “rules” for the looming orgy of hyper-partisan slander will look like.

From a story at Politico:

The agreement between Schumer and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, in conjunction with the House impeachment managers and Trump’s lawyers, will allow up to four hours of arguments on Tuesday about the constitutionality of putting a former president on trial. The Senate will then vote on whether the trial is constitutional.

Beginning on Wednesday, each side will have up to 16 hours to lay out their case, spread out over two days per side. Senators will then have four hours to pose questions to the House managers and Trump’s attorneys.

The agreement also allows for the House managers to ask for a debate and subsequent votes on whether to call witnesses — a provision specifically requested by the managers, Schumer said. Later, each side will have two hours to present closing arguments.

[End]

On that last point, Democrats will have to tread lightly on calling witnesses, given that several Republicans – like Lindsey Graham – have threatened to retaliate for any Democrat calling of witnesses by calling an array of prominent Dems to testify, including members of the senate itself:

What is shaping up here is exactly what everyone should have anticipated: Yet another act in the unending farce that is the DC Swamp Kabuki Theater. We already know the outcome – there will not be nearly enough votes to convict the former President of the fraudulent “incitement to insurrection” article of impeachment – and every word uttered by any Democrat will be a bald-faced lie. Because that’s what Democrats do.

Of course, they will have as many as five RINOs voting with them, so they’ll be able to claim it was all “bi-partisan.” But even that word itself is a sham as applied to Washington, DC, since there is in reality only one party in the DC Swamp, and everything it does is scripted in advance.

Are we not entertained?

Where are Texas and Florida on this? – The state legislatures in North Dakota and South Dakota are both currently considering bills that would give their governors extraordinary authority to nullify Biden executive orders that they and their attorneys general deem to be illegal and/or unconstitutional.

From a story at RedState.com:

In other words, if Biden issues an executive order, the state’s attorney general may review the order to determine if it complies with the Constitution. From there, the state will determine if they should seek exemption from the order or challenge the order on constitutional grounds.

The bill goes on to state specifics when it comes to the orders it will “nullify” in the event of constitutional breaches, such as “pandemics or other health emergencies,” regulation of North Dakota’s agriculture industry, any financial orders that relate to environmental or social standards, and “the regulation of the constitutional right to keep and bear arms.”

As a separate but related bill, Republican State Rep. Sebastian Ertelt introduced a similar law that would nullify any federal laws that also breach constitutional authority. HB1282 would create a “Committee on Neutralization of Federal Laws” which would determine the constitutionality of any given federal law and, if found wanting, would proceed to nullify it within the state.

North Dakota isn’t the only state looking to implement these bills into law. South Dakota has cooked up a few of their own bills that effectively do the same thing.

[End]

This is what is known as a good start, but the same approach needs to be taken up by every Red State in America. This is the way for Republicans/conservatives to resist the leftist surge the Biden/Harris people are currently attempting to force upon the American public.

Conservatives are not going to do what Democrats do, and create a terrorist wing (BLM/Antifa) that executes violent riots all over the country on their behalf. The way for conservatives to resist these unconstitutional orders is through the legislative process and the courts, which means that GOP-dominated legislatures and GOP governors will have to suck it up and lead the effort.

It’s one thing for the Dakotas, with their combined populations of less than 2 million Americans, to do this, but what is needed is for Texas and Florida, with their combined populations now in excess of 50 million, to also jump into the fray and lead. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton got off to a good start a few weeks ago with his challenge to Biden’s order to halt all deportations, but a start is all that is. We now need the governors of those states to step in.

There, we will have to hope that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will lead the way, since Texas Gov. Gregg Abbott has proved to be very timid in really challenging the national orthodoxy. Take it from a Texan: If there is to be a real and viable conservative resistance to the Biden/Harris junta, DeSantis will have to lead it.

Being a leftist crisis actor means never having to say you’re sorry:

What, Robert DeNiro and Alec Baldwin weren’t available? – The great Mollie Hemingway has a terrific takedown of Jeep’s amazingly tone-deaf and hypocritical Super Bowl ad featuring 3-note rock star Bruce Springsteen at The Federalist today. After spending the past four years as a prominent participant in the far-left hate campaign against Donald Trump, Springsteen is not quite the last person Jeep should have selected to feature in an ad calling for national unity, but he’s pretty damn close.

Here’s an excerpt from Hemingway’s piece:

Just before the 2020 election, Springsteen called for “an exorcism in our nation’s capital” as dark music played on his radio show. Of Trump’s presidency, he said, “I thought it was a f—ing nightmare, but it was true.” The episode, titled “Farewell To The Thief,” also insulted President Trump’s family.

The 71-year-old Springsteen told Australians that he would leave the United States and move there if Trump was re-elected.

Springsteen’s posture against Republicans is well known and goes back decades. He was angry at President Ronald Reagan’s positive mention of Springsteen’s “Born In The U.S.A.” He endorsed and campaigned for John Kerry, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden.

Of President George W. Bush in 2008, Springsteen said the United States was now “suffering the consequences” of eight years of rule by a “very radical group of people who pushed things in a very radical direction, had great success in moving things in that direction, and we are suffering the consequences.” By 2016, he was calling President Trump a “moron.” In 2017 he bashed Trump in a protest song.

As one Twitter user put it, “That’s all I could think of, the whole spot. Being preached to by someone who doesn’t respect my views who relishes in suppressing them, having the nerve to pretend to be ‘my community’ and declare unity. They have no idea how transparently cynical the whole thing came across.”

[End]

The choice of a spokesman by Jeep could have been worse, but not a lot worse. I’ve actually bought two Jeeps in my life, but will never even consider buying another one after this cynical display.

That is all.

Monday News Roundup: The Whole World Runs on Democrat Scams

Fun Energy Fact for Today. – Most of the electricity you use to charge your electric vehicle – the overwhelming preponderance of it, in fact – is generated by burning fossil fuels. Like, 80% of it, and most of the remaining 20% is generated by nuclear power plants.

That’s the inconvenient truth about EVs that EV makers and proponents don’t like to talk about. More than 9 times out of ten, those cute charging stations taking up the best parking spaces at your local Whole Foods get their power from the local power grid, and more than 9 times out of 10, your local power grid gets its electricity from sources that are not called wind or solar. In fact, I’m aware of one Whole Foods that actually has a generator that burns diesel fuel to produce electricity for its charging stations, a setup that is actually quite common.

Watch this clip to the end and you will see your typical EV proponent bragging about the cars and how “clean energy” is used to charge them, and see her humiliated on camera when she is forced to admit that the electricity used at her local charging station is generated by … wait for it … burning coal:

You seriously could never make these people up. Don’t even try.

Speaking of scams, let’s do a Global Church of Climate Change Scam update. – Just in case you are among the many who continue to buy into those computer model-based climate change projections of 8-10 degree temperature rise by the end of this century if we don’t all follow Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and her Green New Deal off the economic cliff, here’s a reminder of what the climate change alarmists were telling world leaders 17 years ago in 2004:

Here’s an excerpt from that UK Guardian story from February, 2004:

Climate change over the next 20 years could result in a global catastrophe costing millions of lives in wars and natural disasters..
A secret report, suppressed by US defence chiefs and obtained by The Observer, warns that major European cities will be sunk beneath rising seas as Britain is plunged into a ‘Siberian’ climate by 2020. Nuclear conflict, mega-droughts, famine and widespread rioting will erupt across the world.

The document predicts that abrupt climate change could bring the planet to the edge of anarchy as countries develop a nuclear threat to defend and secure dwindling food, water and energy supplies. The threat to global stability vastly eclipses that of terrorism, say the few experts privy to its contents.

‘Disruption and conflict will be endemic features of life,’ concludes the Pentagon analysis. ‘Once again, warfare would define human life.’

The findings will prove humiliating to the Bush administration, which has repeatedly denied that climate change even exists. Experts said that they will also make unsettling reading for a President who has insisted national defence is a priority.

Climate change ‘should be elevated beyond a scientific debate to a US national security concern’, say the authors, Peter Schwartz, CIA consultant and former head of planning at Royal Dutch/Shell Group, and Doug Randall of the California-based Global Business Network.

An imminent scenario of catastrophic climate change is ‘plausible and would challenge United States national security in ways that should be considered immediately’, they conclude. As early as next year widespread flooding by a rise in sea levels will create major upheaval for millions.

[End]

Now, food is not “dwindling” – it is in fact far more abundant today than it was in 2004. Water is not “dwindling” – it remains abundant all over the globe as human ingenuity advances and allows us to source drinking water from brackish and salt water supplies. Energy is not “dwindling” – it is in fact so vastly more abundant today than in 2004 that the real-dollar cost of all forms of energy has been dramatically reduced. And no, Britain has not turned into an island version of Siberia. The authors of this report were wrong – simply, plainly, factually wrong – in every respect.

Note that despite the fact that literally none of what this report projected 17 years ago has in fact come about, it has been used as the basis for all manner of policy decisions costing trillions upon trillions of dollars. Note also that your newly-installed sock puppet in the White House just did what the report recommended, elevating the matter “beyond a scientific debate” – which has never really taken place since alarmists know they cannot win a debate on the subject – and making it a “US national security concern” in one of his many executive orders issued thus far. Thus elevated, that order will now be used as justification for thousands more policy decisions that will cost us many trillions more dollars in the years to come.

So, despite being wrong about everything, the Global Church of Climate Change continues to advance for the simple reason that each and every “solution” advanced by its proponents fits neatly into the globalist/socialist political agenda.

It’s been a scam from Day 1, the most magnificent and massive scam ever perpetrated by human beings.

Your weekly reminder why Florida Governor Ron DeSantis should be the GOP’s 2024 presidential nominee:

He just runs circles around Texas Gov. Gregg Abbott. The Swampy GOP will try to force Nikki Haley on you in 2024, because Nikki Haley is a card-carrying member of the Big Swamp Club. Don’t let them do that to you. With authentic conservatives like Gov. DeSantis and South Dakota Gov. Christi Noem available, there is no reason at all to let the Swamp saddle you with another globalist loser.

Today’s Biden Administration “Unity” Moment:

Just so you know they never for one second meant it. They hate you and would much rather you were dead.

Union leaders betrayed their members yet again in 2020. – It is a sad fact of the trade union movement in America that union members have quite often been completely misled and betrayed by their leadership. Corrupt union leaders climb into bed with corrupt politicians – almost always Democrats – larding their campaigns up with money forcibly collected from members in return for false promises that are pretty much never fulfilled.

This cycle of deception and corruption has been the main feature of union life for more than a century now, and the 2020 elections proved that it is in no danger of stopping despite the inroads Donald Trump made with blue-collar union workers in 2016. Today, the Daily Caller has a story detailing the fact that members of the Teamsters and other unions who had already entered into contracts to work in high-paying jobs on the Keystone XL Pipeline are angry that Joe Biden kept his campaign promise to kill that project.

Here’s an excerpt from that story:

Several trade unions that endorsed President Joe Biden during the campaign, condemned his executive order revoking the federal government’s permit for the Keystone XL Pipeline.

President Joe Biden revoked the March 2019 federal permit given to TC Energy Corporation, the company constructing the pipeline, in a Jan. 20 executive order on “protecting public health and the environment.” The pipeline has been criticized by organizations like the Natural Resources Defense Council for being harmful to the environment but applauded by groups like the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for creating union jobs.

“The Keystone XL Pipeline has been through more than 10 years of extensive environmental reviews, and today’s announcement is a slap in the face to the thousands of union workers who are already a part of this safe and sustainable project,” API President and CEO Mike Sommers said in a statement following Biden’s signing of the executive order.

TC Energy signed the Keystone XL Pipeline’s project labor agreement (PLA) with four labor unions in August, promising the creation of 42,000 “family-sustaining jobs” in the U.S. and $2 billion in total earnings for the workers.

The labor unions that signed the PLA were the Laborers International Union of North America (LiUNA), the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) and the United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters (UA). All four labor unions endorsed Biden’s presidential campaign.

The National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation (NRTW) announced Monday it would offer free legal aid to union workers who lost their job due to the order and whose union endorsed Biden.

“Workers should not be forced to financially support union bosses who use workers’ money to back candidates willing to destroy their jobs with the stroke of a pen,” Mark Mix, president of the NRTW, said in a statement.

[End]

Mr, Mix is certainly right, but that is how pretty much every trade union in America has worked for the last century and more. It’s all a big club, and while the union leaders are members in that club, the union rank and file members who finance the whole scam certainly are not. Somehow, the workers have never been able to figure that out, even though the scam is completely transparent to everyone else.

Union members voted overwhelmingly for China Joe, and China Joe will make them pay. Four years from now, they will all no doubt repeat this painful cycle all over again.

Mindless.

That is all.

DeSantis Whips Abbott Again on National Guard Controversy

Well, here we go with the next step in making the DC Police State permanent. – Military.com is reporting today that the National Guard under China Joe Potato Head Biden plans to keep a very substantial force of more than 7,000 Guard personnel in the nation’s capital to defend against gangs of marauding Trump supporters that do not exist.

The plan announced on Thursday originally was to keep this huge military presence in DC through the end of January, but that was mysteriously extended on Friday through the end of March. And at the end of March, it will no doubt be extended again, and it will keep on being periodically extended until the corrupt news media determines it is just a part of the “new normal” and stops remarking on it altogether.

Because that’s how this stuff works in the DC Swamp.

Here’s an excerpt from the story at Military.com:

The National Guard Bureau is working on a plan to call for thousands of volunteers from the 25,600 Guard members in Washington, D.C., to remain on duty in the city until as late as mid-March.

Guard officials announced Thursday that approximately 15,000 Air and Army National Guard troops would begin returning to their home states as early as this weekend.

Over the past two weeks, the massive Guard force flowed into D.C. to reinforce federal law enforcement for Wednesday’s inauguration of President Joe Biden, following the Jan. 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol that left five people dead.

While the inauguration took place peacefully, the Guard is still supporting requests from the U.S. Secret Service and federal law enforcement. Guard officials said Thursday that approximately 7,000 troops would likely remain in D.C. through the end of January.

As of Friday, the plan is to have up to 7,000 troops remain in D.C. through March 12, but those details are still in the planning stages, a National Guard official told Military.com.

Any Guard members who stay past the original 31-day mobilization order will be on a volunteer basis, and their orders will be modified for the new time frame, Nahaku McFadden, a spokesman for the Guard Bureau, told Military.com.

“We are not going to make anybody stay,” McFadden said.

[End]

Ok, guess which 7,000 National Guard personnel will no doubt “volunteer” to remain? Those would be the 7,000 who pledged their undying loyalty not to America, but to China Joe and Kamala and San Fran Nan and the rest of the in-power Democrats during the recent “vetting” of the Guard personnel by the FBI.

Thus does The Swamp create its very own Praetorian Guard. The “new normal” has arrived.

The states start fighting back a little. – On a positive note, some Republican governors have had enough of supporting this nonsense and are starting to fight back a bit. That effort was of course led by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who told reporters early Friday that he had ordered Florida’s National Guard troops to return home, stating that “These folks are soldiers, not Nancy Pelosi’s servants.”

DeSantis, who is quickly emerging as a serious early GOP contender for the presidency in 2024, went on to say that “This is a half-cocked mission at this point and the appropriate thing is to bring them home.”

Cool.

Much later in the day, increasingly useless Texas Governor Gregg Abbott, who has completely lost  his way related to COVID-19 since last summer, woke up and realized he had just missed yet another opportunity to provide some real, actual leadership to DeSantis, decided he’d better call his National Guard people back home, too.

Hey, better late than never, right Governor Abbott? To be fair, of course, Abbott had threatened to take this action as early as Wednesday, but he’s become really good at issuing empty threats and really bad on following through with real leadership action. Last summer, when the country was in the midst of establishing the state-by-state paradigm for dealing with COVID-19, Abbott had a brief moment in time when it looked as if he might summon the courage to really lead on the issue and take the strong actions to save his state’s small businesses and jobs that DeSantis is now famous for having taken.

Sadly, Abbott couldn’t find it within himself to defy the tyranny of “experts” and do the right thing. As a result, DeSantis today has emerged as the GOP governor who seems most likely to be able to make a strong run at the party’s presidential nomination in 2024, with South Dakota Governor Christi Noem running a strong second. Abbott, who got a quick start out of the gate, is now foundering behind the pack and trying to figure out some way to get his mojo back.

Too bad.

That is all.

Tuesday News Roundup: Assange Asylum, Georgia Shenanigans and Ron DeSantis 2024

Let’s start with some “In Case You Missed It” items that I skipped over the last couple of days:

First, there’s the fact that a judge in England has denied the U.S. extradition request for WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange, and will set bail for him later this week.

From a report at the Philadelphia Inquirer:

A British judge on Monday rejected the United States’ request to extradite WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to face espionage charges over the publication of secret U.S. documents a decade ago, saying he was likely to kill himself if held under harsh U.S. prison conditions.

In a mixed ruling for Assange and his supporters, District Judge Vanessa Baraitser rejected defense arguments that the 49-year-old Australian faces a politically motivated American prosecution that rides roughshod over free-speech protections. But she said Assange’s precarious mental health would likely deteriorate further under the conditions of “near total isolation” he would face in a U.S. prison.

“I find that the mental condition of Mr. Assange is such that it would be oppressive to extradite him to the United States of America,” the judge said.

Lawyers for the U.S. government said they would appeal the decision, and the U.S. Department of Justice said it would continue to seek Assange’s extradition.

[End]

Then there’s the additional news that Mexico’s President Obrador has made an offer of full asylum for Assange:

On top of all of that, the Prime Minister of Australia said on Monday that Assange would be free to return to that country once all of the British court proceedings have been completed and he has been released. From a story at The Hill:

Australia’s prime minister said Tuesday that his government would allow Julian Assange to return home should efforts fail to extradite the Wikileaks founder from London to face charges in the U.S.

Reuters reported that Scott Morrison made the remarks during a radio interview, telling the hosts that he had no inside information on Assange’s legal battles but adding that Australian consulate services are available to him and all other Australians.

“Well, the justice system is making its way and we’re not a party to that. And like any Australian, they’re offered consular support and should, you know, the appeal fail, obviously he would be able to return to Australia like any other Australian,” Morrison said.

“So, yes, it’s just a straightforward process of the legal system in the U.K. working its way through,” he continued, according to Reuters.

[End]

This is all important news in the U.S. for one simple reason: Julian Assange knows where all the bodies are buried, especially where the Democrat Party is concerned. More to the point, he knows the truth about the murder of Seth Rich, a truth that the DNC can never allow to come to light.

This is a story to watch closely.

This is funny only because it’s apparently true:

In case you believe Kelly Loeffler is a real part of the solution in Washington, well, think again. – Loeffler is married to the owner of the New York Stock Exchange, billionaire Jeff Sprecher. On Monday, even as his wifey was participating in a rally held by President Donald Trump on her behalf, Sprecher and his organization announced that it would defy a Trump executive order demanding that the NYSE and other U.S. stock exchanges de-list certain corporations controlled by the Chinese Communist Party.

From a story at CNBC:

NYSE says it will no longer delist three Chinese telecom giants

KEY POINTS
  • The New York Stock Exchange said it no longer plans to delist three Chinese telecommunications giants: China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom.
  • Four days earlier, the NYSE said it planned to drop those listings to comply with a November executive order from President Trump.
  • Trump sought to bar American companies and individuals from investing in firms that allegedly aid the Chinese military.

The New York Stock Exchange said it no longer plans to delist three Chinese telecommunications giants, reversing a decision announced four days earlier.

The NYSE said late Monday it dropped the plans after “further consultation with relevant regulatory authorities in connection with Office of Foreign Assets Control.”

[End]

If you are wondering if those “relevant regulatory authorities” included representatives of the ChiCom party, trust me, you are not alone.

Don’t get me wrong here: We need either Loeffler or David Perdue to win today’s runoff because their votes would deny Democrat efforts to eliminate the senate filibuster rule and prevent the stacking of the U.S. Supreme Court. But if you’ve been hoping Loeffler might actually a be a real reform-minded conservative who would support efforts to roll back the machinations of the DC Swamp, well, just let that go. She’s just Mitt Romney with long blonde hair, and Perdue is no better.

So, what do the polls in Georgia look like? – I predicted two weeks ago that a deal has been cut that would allow Loeffler to win her seat, while David Perdue would lose to John Ossoff. The only poll worth taking a look at, from the Trafalgar Group, shows – guess what? – Loeffler leading and Perdue trailing:

As I write elsewhere this morning, it all ultimately depends on how the Dominion Systems machines have been programmed. I’m betting they’ve been programmed to produce a split outcome.

You don’t have to believe me on this… – Let analyst Jovan Pulitzer, who hacked into a Dominion machine over the Internet during a live Georgia Senate hearing last week, explain it all to you:

Incidentally, you may remember that that Senate committee voted to allow Pulitzer to perform an audit on the Nov. 3 ballots in Fulton County. Pulitzer still has not been allowed access to those ballots by corrupt Sec. State Brad Raffensperger and his evil minions.

What a surprise, right?

This guy really needs to run for president. – Watch Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis embarrass a typically-biased hack reporter from CNN:

That is what a real reform-minded conservative Republican looks like. Keep him in mind for 2024 and beyond.

That is all.

Saturday News Roundup: Trump Declares, Whitmer Extends, Pritzker Sued, DeSantis Frees

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

But what will he do to force the issue? – On Friday afternoon, President Donald Trump (I never tire of typing those three glorious words) declared the nation’s churches, synagogues, temples, mosques and other houses of worship to be “essential” and demanded that the 50 state governors act to open them “right now, this weekend.”

The President’s demand was accompanied by a simultaneous release of CDC guidelines for the opening of places of worship, which formerly enjoyed the absolute protection of the First Amendment to the Constitution, but now apparently are only allowed to operate at the whims of governors, 24 of whom are Democrats who are hostile to individual freedoms generally. Somehow in all of the panicked decision-making committed in response to this Chinese plague, places of worship were given lower priority than liquor stores, pot shops and abortion clinics by federal health “experts.”

Hey, next time we have a pandemic, maybe the president at that time will think to have a constitutional “expert” on his response task force, too.

Now, you can be absolutely certain that not a single one of those 24 Democrat governors will voluntarily reopen their churches anytime in the near future, or make any special effort to comply with the President’s wishes. You can also be certain that many of the Republicans will also slow-play this CDC guidance. Given that it is not at all clear what power the President would have to hurry them along or usurp their authority in our federal system, Mr. Trump will apparently be left to rely on his Department of Justice to start suing governors who refuse to comply.

And we all know what a slow process…oh, wait…

Well, that was fast. – And just like clockwork, the DOJ filed a challenge to the religious freedom restrictions being enforced in Illinois by toadish Governor J.B. Pritzker. From a report at NPR:

The Trump administration is supporting a lawsuit challenging the Illinois governor’s stay-at-home order. The legal maneuver marks the first time the U.S. Department of Justice has weighed in on state level COVID-19 policies that are unrelated to religious matters.

The department on Friday filed a statement of interest in the case against Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker, saying the protective coronavirus measures in place exceed the limits of his office.

“In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Governor of Illinois has, over the past two months, sought to rely on authority under the Illinois Emergency Management Agency Act to impose sweeping limitations on nearly all aspects of life for citizens of Illinois, significantly impairing in some instances their ability to maintain their economic livelihoods,” the department said in a statement.

The government is siding with Republican state Rep. Darren Bailey who filed the initial suit in state court earlier this month. He argued that Pritzker’s executive order violates a 30-day limit on the governor’s emergency powers put in place by the state legislature.

[End]

Cool. Now do Michigan.

Commentary: Why it matters when Gov. J.B. Pritzker wears a mask ...

Speaking of Michigan, Generalissimo Gretchen Whitmer has done it again. – The aspiring banana republic dictator extended her science-devoid stay-at-home order on Friday through June 12, in the process creating an entirely new rationale for keeping her state on lockdown: “If we’re going to lower the chance of a second wave and continue to protect our neighbors and loved ones from the spread of this virus, we must continue to do our part by staying safer at home.”

Oh. So, now Democrats have a new narrative: The stay-at-home strategy wasn’t about “flattening the curve,” as they all assured us was the case back in March; now, it has morphed into preventing an imaginary “second wave” of the Wuhan Virus that no one knows will ever come. And even if we knew such a second wave was coming, there literally no scientific or data-driven basis for thinking that staying at home in June would protect anyone in October or December or whenever the Democrat talking point memo imagines the “second wave” is coming.

Herr Gretchen is no longer governing her state – she’s just campaigning to be Joe Biden’s running mate, and believes that keeping the boot on the necks of Michiganders helps her in that cause. This is a very, very dangerous woman, folks.

Gretchen Whitmer | Ricochet

In response to the Generalissimo’s dictatorial reign of power, hundreds of Michigan citizens gathered on the steps of the capitol building in Lansing on Friday to…cut hair. I kid you not. Led by 77 year-old barber Karl Manke, the group actually set up barber’s chairs and had Manke and other hair stylists clean people up right on the capitol steps:

Jody Hebberd, left, gives a free haircut to Reid Scott, as he reads the paper on the steps of the State Capitol as Karl Manke, right, cuts the hair of Parker Shonts during a rally in Lansing, Mich., on Wednesday. (AP Photo/Paul Sancya)

Hilarious. These are Americans. This is what America looks like, Herr Gretchen.

Somebody needs to lock this guy in a closet and throw away the key. – After spending the last 3 months as the leading advocate for these interminable stay-at-home orders and frequently telling TV audiences that we may need to keep doing this for 12 to 18 months or whenever we have a miracle vaccine to shoot into everyone’s veins, Dr. Anthony Fauci actually had this to say on Friday:

You seriously could never make this stuff up. Never in a million, trillion years.

This is what leadership looks like. – While Dr. Fauci and the Democrat governors were focused on their mission to destroy the country on Friday, the best and most effective Governor in the land did this:

Can anyone doubt that Gov. DeSantis will also be among the first to lift all restrictions on church attendance?

Ron DeSantis is the Anti-Whitmer.

DeSantis banks on Trump in his corner for Florida governor's race ...

Let freedom ring.

Have a great Saturday, if you can.

Larry Schweikart: Democrats Push the Panic-Porn Button

Guest Contribution by America’s History Teacher, Larry Schweikart

As the Democrat governors lose the narrative of the China Virus—and also lose control of their states, they have ratcheted up the panic-porn to new levels. Hoax News reporters harangue President Donald Trump about not wearing a mask, then about taking hydroxychloroquine, then about whether he would shut down the country if the China Virus numbers suddenly rise again.

His answers? “No, I won’t wear a mask,” “I’ve been taking hydroxycholoroquine for two weeks,” and “No, I won’t shut the country down again.”

Bravo.

It’s clear none of this has anything whatsoever to do with a flu and everything to do with damaging the U.S. economy enough to keep Trump from getting massively reelected. After all, they did it once before . . . sort of. In early October, 2016, as Joel Pollak and I revealed in our book How Trump Won, the Trump team was circulating internal polls that were shockingly good for The Donald. How good? They had him within the margin of error in Illinois, Rhode Island, and Oregon. They had him even in Minnesota (which, as it turned out, was the case).

I am convinced that Hillary Clinton’s team was reading the same tea leaves, and had to do anything to stop the momentum. I believe that is why they rolled out the “Access Hollywood” tape so early. It did have a damaging, but quite temporary, effect on the Trump team. But by election day, the impact had faded, and while Trump did not carry Oregon, or Rhode Island, or Illinois, he did shock the pundits by winning perennial teaser states for the GOP like Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, and came reasonably close to winning Virginia and within a hair of winning New Hampshire. This suggests that early internal polling had some merit.

The point is, “Access Hollywood” was a last-minute, desperate brake on Trump’s momentum. While the Democrats didn’t introduce the China Virus to the U.S.—China did—they reveled in an opportunity to again put a brake on Trumpmentum. One can look at polls from the same Hoax Pollsters who gave us a Hillary landslide in 2016, or who missed Wisconsin by an average of six points, or who missed the Ron DeSantis/Rick Scott/Josh Hawley/Mike Braun elections in 2018. Those same Hoax Pollsters say that Joe (I’m hidin’) Biden, who hasn’t appeared in public at a live event in nearly two months, is somehow leading President Trump.

If you buy that, then you likely have the Las Vegas Raiders winning the Super Bowl this year, too.
What the draconian lockdowns by the blue-state governors, particularly Gretchen Whitmer in Michigan, J. B. Pritzker in Illinois, Gavin Newsom in California, and Andrew Cuomo in New York have done is to finally . . . finally . . . chip away at the remaining Democrat base. Already—and the Democrats, deep in their evil hovels of voter analysis know this—Trump has been eroding the black vote and has been actually building quite a bit of Hispanic support. Most polls put Trump’s black approval at between 16% and 22%.

Blacks, and even black conservatives, are quick to insist that Trump won’t get that much of the actual black vote, and they are right. He doesn’t need to. He’ll get between 12-13% actual vote, but add to that another 3-5% of black voters who will stay home. That is a death sentence for the Democrats. That alone would put Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida, and North Carolina in Trump’s column. But when you add that to his up to 47% (in some polls) Hispanic support, and combine that with the outrage in the suburban areas of Virginia, Minnesota, Colorado, and other states enduring a lockdown, Trump’s electoral college numbers are poised to soar.

These last two weeks we had two good tests of the public mood on the lockdowns. A Republican held the WI7 seat largely on the basis of winning mail-in ballots, and not just absentees! In California, Mike Garcia flipped the seat previously held by Katie (The Fuller Brush Girl) Hill, who had resigned. Garcia won by nine, and most surprising of all, continued to break even in the days after the election when Democrat “vote harvesting” often produces surprises. Then, in Staughton, Virginia, Republicans flipped three out of three city assembly seats in a district that went for Barack Obama twice. The issues? Guns and the lockdown.

When you add to this the fact that Governor Cuomo literally sentenced old people to death by sending China-Virus-infected old people back to nursing homes, I think you’ll start to see a serious boil here by election time. The last hope was to somehow perpetuate the panic through the virtue-signaling wearing of masks (of dubious effectiveness, as admitted even by St. Fauci). It ain’t happenin’. The red states that opened, such as Georgia and Florida, have lower rates of the China Virus now. Remarkable what sunlight and herd immunity will do to the flu.

As for Trump? He will be the beneficiary of not only creating one, but two great economies by election time, while simultaneously overcoming the China Virus. The Democrats couldn’t help themselves. They pushed the Panic Porn Button too soon.

Thursday News Roundup: DeSantis, Whitmer, Northam, Morning Mika and More

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who has unarguably led one of the most successful responses to the Wuhan Virus pandemic in his state, it well and truly fed up with the idiotic coverage coming from Florida’s corrupt news media.

Check out this clip from his Wednesday press availability with Vice President Mike Pence:

Transcript:

“Our data is available; our data is transparent. In fact, Dr. Birx has talked multiple times about how Florida has the absolute best data. So, any insinuation otherwise is just typical partisan narrative trying to be spun. Part of the reason is that, because you’ve got a lot of people in your profession who waxed poetically for weeks and weeks about how Florida was gonna be just like New York.  ‘Wait two weeks, Florida’s gonna be next! Just like Italy in two weeks!’

“Well, hell, we’re 8 weeks away from that and it hasn’t happened. Not only do we have a lower death rate – well, we have way lower deaths generally – we have a lower death rate than the Acela Corridor; D.C., everyone up there. We have a lower death rate than the Midwest: Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio. But even in our region – Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia – Florida has the lower death rate. And, I [Florida] was the number one landing spot from tens of thousands of people leaving the number one hot zone in the world [New York City] to come to my state.

“So, we succeeded, and I think that people just don’t want to recognize it because it challenges their narrative; it challenges their assumption; so they gotta try to find a boogeyman. Maybe it’s that there are black helicopters circling the Department of Health. If you believe that, I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn I’d like to sell you.”

[End]

Perfect.

Life is tough for Church Lady Joe Scarborough when Morning Mika is all verklempt. – Morning Mika was so verklempt over President Donald Trump’s tweets yesterday that she actually promised to put in a call to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to beg him to ban the President from the platform.

I’m not kidding:

MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski says she will speak with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to discuss getting President Trump banned from Twitter.

The “Morning Joe” co-host argued that the social media giant’s platform policies are being “abused by the day.”

“Need to know why Trump is not banned?” Brzezinski asked in the first of a series of tweets.

“I will be reaching out to head of twitter about their policies being violated every day by President Trump,” Brzezinski wrote in a subsequent tweet. “Hope my call is taken. Please retweet if you agree.”

[End]

Remember, Morning Mika’s father – Zbigniew Brzezinski – basically invented globalism during the Carter Administration, where he served as National Security Advisor. So, Morning Mika has been all verklempt since mid-2015, when Donald Trump announced his candidacy for the presidency. Now you know why Church Lady Joe is such a miserable human being.

Herr Gretchen is the perfect authoritarian thug. – Michigan’s Generalissimo Gretchen Whitmer just can’t get out of her own way. Over the past two months, she has repeatedly warned Michiganders against traveling to visit their lake homes and other vacation homes – indeed, she has attempted to even ban them from walking across the street to chat with a neighbor.

But being the authoritarian thug that she is, Herr Gretchen naturally assumes the traditional ‘do as I say, not as I do’ posture. Yesterday, as noted by Jim Hoft at GatewayPundit, one enterprising citizen caught her visiting her own vacation home even as she continues to advise the little people to stay at home:

CONFIRMED: Governor Whitmer Begs Michiganders Not to Travel to their Summer Home — Then Her Cars Are Seen Parked Outside of HER SUMMER HOME!

No wonder Creepy Uncle Quid Pro China Joe Biden is considering her to be his running mate. She’s the perfect Democrat authoritarian thug.

Give us yore attenshun, please, citizens! Tha raght honorabul Guvnah Ralph Nahthum of tha Commonwealth a’ Vahginyah has anothah eeeeedict ta make! – As states all over the nation now move into the 2nd and 3rd phases of highly successful reopening programs, Virginia Governor Ralph KKK Coonman Northam told reporters on Wednesday that he has “no particular timeline” in his tiny mind on a plan to start reopening his own state.

From a piece in the Daily Caller:

The Virginia governor delayed reopening parts of Northern Virginia last week after leaders in the area sent him a letter expressing concerns that their communities should not yet reopen. Northam said he is “following the data” as he prohibits Northern Virginia from reopening, according to the Washington Times.

“We haven’t set any particular timeline,” Northam said, the Times reported Wednesday. “We will continue to follow that daily. We will be in communication with those (local) leaders, and when they are comfortable, and when the data supports a movement into Phase 1, we will do so,” Northam said.
[End]

As we detailed last night, new data clearly demonstrates that there is no science-based or data-driven case to be made for continued lockdowns in states and big cities where Democrat politicians are still keeping them in place. That is being done for purely partisan political reasons alone.

How do you know Ralph Northam is lying? His lips are moving.

That is all.

The Disturbing, Growing Rift Between Free States and Prison States

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

So, I’m sitting here on a Saturday morning contemplating the fact that our country is now at a point at which it has become normal for talking heads on TV and print commentators to talk about “free states” and “prison” or “lockdown states”. I did it myself in a piece the other day without even thinking about it.

At any other time in the last 150 years, this kind of discourse would have been shocking, but today it is part of the “new normal” that aspiring despots like Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer now talk about, echoing the kind of language Barack Obama used during his term to convince people to accept his own efforts to regulate every aspect of their daily lives.

It’s easy to tell which states are “free” or becoming more free, anyway, and which states are “prisons”: The Free States have Republican governors, and the Prison states, with a few exceptions like Ohio, are run by Democrats like Whitmer. This dichotomy between the governance by the two parties in this national emergency over a virus with a mortality rate well below 1% becomes increasingly stark with every passing week.

Friday, May 1 was a great example. In Texas, GOP Governor Greg Abbott moved to reopen a vast swath of businesses (with limited capacity restraints), state parks and the beaches along the Gulf Coast. On the very same day, Democrat California Governor Gavin Newsom moved to close all state parks and beaches. As a result, free Texans flocked to local shopping malls or to reopened restaurants to enjoy their first meal out in six weeks, while thousands of imprisoned Californians staged a massive protest in the city of Huntington Beach:

Think about the brutish stupidity of that beach closing order: Given that we now know that heat and sunlight kill this virus, what better place for Southern Californians to spend time than on the damn beach? But Governor Newsom, acting on his fascist impulses, shuts the beaches down because he was personally “disturbed” by video of people enjoying a day in the sun earlier in the week.

Americans all over the country have clearly shown that they are willing to cooperate with restrictions to their freedoms that make sense in fighting the spread of this virus. But irrational nonsense like this and Gov. Whitmer’s ban on motor boats has got to stop.

If these Democrat governors do not begin to relent soon, and stop treating the rural residents of their states as if they all live in densely-populated Manhattan, the peaceful protests we have witnessed all over the country in the past few weeks will begin to turn more aggressive, possibly even violent. This is not something I’m encouraging: It’s simply an inevitable outcome of dictatorial governors insisting on continuing to deny people their constitutional rights.

Make no mistake about this: Each and every one of the lockdown orders issued by Republican and Democrat governors alike are blatant violations of individual rights. These governors – and various mayors and other local officials – can only maintain these orders so long as they are able to maintain control over their law enforcement agencies to enforce them. Already, we see this level of control beginning to crack.

We saw it in Houston last week, when associations of both Houston police officers and Harris County sheriff’s deputies made it known they would not try to enforce an abusive order made by the idiot county judge there. We saw it in Orange County, CA on Friday, where the sheriff issued a statement informing the public he would not attempt to enforce Gov. Newsom’s beach closing order.

Because, you see, law enforcement officials read the constitution, too, and they promise to uphold it when they are sworn into office. Just because some governor or mayor doesn’t give a damn about individual freedoms does not mean the local police chief or sheriff or head of the state police agency feels the same way.

We know enough about this viral plague brought to us by China and have enough effective treatment regimes in place now to move away from the “flatten the curve” stage to a “protect the vulnerable and treat the sick” stage. Hell, if these governors would just focus on dealing effectively with the nursing homes in their states, that would take care of half the problem. In Texas, the median age of those who have died from this virus is over 80. Let that sink in.

Everyone who has been paying attention and is not just a brain-dead outrage monkey on Twitter can clearly see that the time for these statewide, one-size-fits-all lockdowns has passed. The situation now calls for the aspiring South American junta leaders like Whitmer, Newsom and Ralph KKK Northam to stand down and engage in more thoughtful and intelligent governance, and to stop the systematic violation of the rights of their citizens.

It’s time for there to be no justification or need for any talking head to use the terms “Free state” and “Prison state” anymore. We’re supposed to be the United States, and dichotomies in governance like the ones we see continuing to grow over this virus cannot persist for long before they threaten to become permanent.

How China Virus is Creating Political Flips and Flops

Guest Piece from America’s History Teacher, Larry Schweikart

As the fallout from the China Virus continues to spread—though the China Virus itself is largely contained now—the political ramifications are not raining down equally on all. As of this morning, Gallup has President Trump at over 49%—his highest ever in that poll—and Scott Rasmussen’s partnership poll also has him over 49%. IDB/TIPP has Trump now tied with the demented Joe Biden for the first time, with Biden slipping several points from just a month ago.

This is more than just Biden’s “woman trouble.” It represents a growing understanding by the American people that not just anyone can do the job of president, and that Biden is mentally incapacitated. While I don’t do polls, I’m guessing that Trump already has sailed past the lowest point he will see in 2020.

And I think the Democrats know it.

This has powerful implications for the state elections though. Those governors who have not locked down their states, particularly Kristi Noem of South Dakota, are being feted. The people of South Dakota actually threw a parade in their governor’s honor! Don’t expect that to occur in other red states, where some tyrannical or duped governors remain hostage to their doctors’ flawed charts and models. In Ohio, Mike DeWine—never a strong politician—has ceded almost all authority in his state to Amy Acton, the Department of Health Director.

Arizona’s Doug Ducey, coming off a 14-point win in 2018 (against an admittedly lame opponent) similarly is a prisoner of charts and graphs. Ducey’s actions—so far more than those of DeWine—seems to be sparking protests in the traditionally independent Arizona electorate. Protests are picking up steam, and Ducey was forced to threaten fines and jail time for any business that opened early. Ducey was a rising star who expected to move on to bigger things.

Not. Any. More.

On the other hand, some stars continue to shine. Besides Noem, Georgia’s Brian Kemp has likely cemented his position with Georgia re-opening; Ron DeSantis in Florida likewise is looking wise and fearless; and of course Greg Abbott in Texas, while not opening gyms or hair salons, nevertheless is moving in the right direction and refusing to use state coercive power to make people wear masks.

The flop governors will likely create a chasm in their states between themselves and those who support reopening, including President Trump. In Arizona, Martha McSally’s fate likely will rest on whether she forcefully comes out for reopening or (again) tries to play it safe and hide. Her comments on the Chicoms’ role in this have been encouraging so far.

Meanwhile, Democrat governors like “Comfortable” Ralph Northam may well have flipped Virginia in the 2020 election. Certainly much of the perpetually-paid beltway NOVA area will not mind a paid holiday, but the rest of the state may grow restless enough to vote for Trump in the fall. Prior to the China Virus, I thought such a flip was impossible.

If the Democrat governors maintain the lockdowns long enough, and if they become painful enough, it very well may move still other states to Trump in the fall. For every flop, there might be a flip.

Mid-Day Update: DOJ Investigating Burr, Accountability for Chloroquine Critics

The Mid-Day Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Boom. Will we actually get a little justice from the Department of Justice? – Ok, the report is from CNN, so don’t get your hopes up overly-much, but still: CNN reported Monday morning that the DOJ is coordinating with the SEC to investigate the suspicious stock trades made by RINO North Carolina Senator Richard Burr:

The Justice Department has started to probe a series of stock transactions made by lawmakers ahead of the sharp market downturn stemming from the spread of coronavirus, according to two people familiar with the matter.

The inquiry, which is still in its early stages and being done in coordination with the Securities and Exchange Commission, has so far included outreach from the FBI to at least one lawmaker, Sen. Richard Burr, seeking information about the trades, according to one of the sources.
Public scrutiny of the lawmakers’ market activity has centered on whether members of Congress sought to profit from the information they obtained in non-public briefings about the virus epidemic.
Burr, the North Carolina Republican who heads the Senate Intelligence Committee, has previously said that he relied only on public news reports as he decided to sell between $628,000 and $1.7 million in stocks on February 13. Earlier this month, he asked the Senate Ethics Committee to review the trades given “the assumption many could make in hindsight,” he said at the time.
[End]

If you remember, early reports on suspicious stock trades made by various senators during February also included trades made by Democrat Dianne Feinstein and Republican Kelly Loeffler. Both Feinstein and Loeffler were able to establish plausible deniability through having put their securities into blind trusts managed by professional financial advisors. Burr, on the other hand, laughably claimed to have made his decision based on reports he watched on CNBC, even though he made them almost immediately following having received a disturbing briefing on the potential impacts of the coronavirus.

His position here is frankly indefensible, and everyone involved has to know it. But we all know how corrupted the DOJ remains even under current Attorney General William Barr, and how it works to protect members in good standing of the DC Swamp. Given that Burr qualifies as a life member of the Swamp thanks to his utterly corrupt chairmanship of the Senate Intelligence Committee, everyone should temper any hope of the DOJ actually making any effort to do anything other than cover this entire episode up.

Put your health where your narrative is, Democrats. – This morning’s Campaign Update covered the FDA’s move to approve hydroxycholoroquine for prescription use in fighting the Wuhan Virus, COVID-19. That news has now been supplemented by the news that the health agencies in both France and Italy have now issued similar approvals, as scientific and anecdotal evidence of the drug’s effectiveness in treating the virus continues to mount.

Yet, despite all of this official adoption of this safe, well-known, affordable and plentiful drug for treating the Wuhan Virus, Democrats and their corrupt media toadies here in the U.S. continue their campaign to demonize hydroxychloroquine for purely political purposes. In one of the latest moves on this front, Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis ordered a huge shipment of the drug while Democrat governors in Nevada and Michigan were issuing orders to prevent their citizens from benefiting from its use.

Meanwhile, corrupt media outlets like CNN continue to issue biased reports denying the growing body of evidence confirming the drug’s effectiveness:

Given the rank dishonesty and danger to normal citizens involved in this ongoing false Democrat/media narrative, here is a humble proposition:

President Trump should appoint an “Accountability Czar.” This person’s job would be to compile an official list of all the craven Democrat politicians and corrupt media outlets who are pushing this latest propaganda hoax, and to coordinate with the CDC, the FDA and state and local officials to ensure that no one who engages in this hoax in an active way is able to obtain treatment involving hydroxychloroquine in the tragic event that they become ill with the Wuhan Virus.

Let’s allow these corrupt individuals to put their health where their narrative is, and see how it all turns out for them. Hell, I’ll even volunteer for the job.

Stop Blaming Millennials For Gen-Z Irresponsibility

The Evening Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Let’s all try to get our generations straight, mmm-kay? – Everybody, please stop blaming Millennials for crap Gen-Z is doing.

This is the crap I’m talking about right here:

And this:

Those irresponsible people are college students. This week, thousands of them are out partying for Spring Break on the beaches of Florida, which Governor Ron DeSantis – who has to this point been an amazingly competent and effective Governor – refuses to close because it would hurt business. While the rest of the country is focused in on dealing with a major national crisis, he seems intent on doing his best imitation of Mayor Larry Vaughn from the movie “Jaws.”

This guy:

Sinister Summer: “Jaws” Retrospective Horror Film Review | The R.L. Terry ReelView

Governor DeSantis was born in 1978. He is much closer to being a Millennial than current college students. For those who aren’t aware, the Millennial generation consists of people born from the early 1980s through the early 1990s. Current college students were born in the late 1990s through early 2000s. Millennials are not our problem here.

Both of my own children are Millennials. My daughter, a mother of two, is currently working her butt off home schooling her daughters, age 7 and 10, because their schools are closed. My son gets up and goes to work for Amazon every day, working his own butt off to make an honest living.

Millennials in general are the young parents and young professionals of our society today. They’re the PTA members, the little league coaches and more and more, the city council and school board members and first responders who make our society work. Their generation unfortunately has gotten a bad reputation from the tiny minority of them who hang out screaming and wailing on Twitter and Instagram all day long.

I’m a Baby Boomer. My generation also got a bad rap from a minority who did little but take drugs and party all the time, while my wife and I and millions of the rest of us were getting up every morning and going to work our butts off trying to make an honest living and doing our best to raise our kids well.

Every generation gets a bad rap in one form or another, and Millennials have plenty of their own stuff to deal with without being blamed for stupid actions of a bunch of Gen-Z kids who are focused on partying on the beaches of Florida and being enabled by a Governor who is old enough to know better.

So, cut it out, ok?

Thanking you in advance.

That is all.

Did Nikki Haley Just Reveal the Leaders of the 25th Amendment Push?

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Tired of all this #WINNING yet? Yeah, neither am I. – For what seems like the 16,000th time during President Donald Trump’s term in office, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at yet another record high on Monday, as the Trump economy just keeps roaring along. Democrats and fake journalists everywhere were doubling up on their depression meds as the markets closed.

When Nikki Haley speaks, people listen. – When people start surveying the GOP landscape post-Trump, whether that comes in January after being removed from the the presidency by the Senate (which is not likely to happen), in January 2021 after a loss in the 2020 election (also not in the cards) or in January 2025 following the completion of his second term in office (bingo!), the survey inevitably lands to the name of Nikki Haley as one of his most likely successors.

Other names also arise, of course: Names like Mike Pence and Mike Pompeo and Ted Cruz, and the less obvious names like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan and even Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw. Lindsey Graham, with his thrice-weekly appearances on one Fox News evening program or another, is obviously angling for another run at the gig, as are Rand Paul and even Kanye West. But inevitably, the name of Nikki Haley always comes up.

She is, after all, a former successful governor of South Carolina, and a person who, after not really being on board with the Trump Train during the 2016 campaign, created a very high profile for herself as Trump’s very loyal, very aggressive and very outspoken UN Ambassador. Although her record as Governor was decidedly mixed from a conservative perspective, perhaps more than any of Trump’s cabinet-level officials, Haley has stood out as the most aggressive advocate for his international policies.

Thus it is that anything she has to say about the goings-on inside White House during her two-year tenure is given a lot of weight by most Trump supporters. In a Sunday interview with Kelly O’Donnell of CBS, Haley basically accused both then-Chief of Staff John Kelly and then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson of rank insubordination, even though she said they claimed that was not their intent.

Here’s the key outtake:

Haley recounts a closed-door encounter with then-White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson: “Kelly and Tillerson confided in me that when they resisted the president, they weren’t being insubordinate, they were trying to save the country … Tillerson went on to tell me the reason he resisted the president’s decisions was because, if he didn’t, people would die. This was how high the stakes were, he and Kelly told me. We are doing the best we can do to save the country, they said. We need you to work with us and help us do it. This went on for over an hour.”

O’Donnell asked, “You memorialized that conversation? It definitely happened?”

“It absolutely happened,” said Haley. “And instead of saying that to me, they should’ve been saying that to the president, not asking me to join them on their sidebar plan. It should’ve been, ‘Go tell the president what your differences are, and quit if you don’t like what he’s doing.’ But to undermine a president is really a very dangerous thing. And it goes against the Constitution, and it goes against what the American people want. And it was offensive.”

[We asked them to respond. John Kelly tells “Sunday Morning”: “If by resistance and stalling she means putting a staff process in place … to ensure the (president) knew all the pros and cons of what policy decision he might be contemplating so he could make an informed decision, then guilty as charged.”]

Undermining a president from the inside is indeed a very dangerous thing, as Haley notes, and her accusation against Kelly and Tillerson rings true given everything else we know about the two men and their behavior while serving in those positions. Tillerson repeatedly made his personal disdain for the President and his lack of support for Trump policies related to North Korea, China and other parts of the world very clear while serving as SOS, which is the main reason why his tenure in the office was so short. Kelly’s first move after moving into his Chief of Staff role was not to go after the myriad leakers inside the White House, but rather to cut the President off from his most loyal supporters and start to systematically force them out of their jobs.

Rumors have run rampant for more than two years now that both men were willing participants in the mid-2017 plot to dummy up a rationale for removing Trump from office under the 25th Amendment, a plot we know beyond any reasonable doubt that Rod Rosenstein was a part of. If you believe in the whole “where there’s smoke there’s fire” paradigm, it seems extremely likely that those persistent rumors must have some basis in reality.

If Haley’s contention about the approach by Tillerson and Kelly is accurate – and there is little reason to believe that it is not – then it would be consistent with a move that would be made as a part of a larger 25th amendment effort targeting the President. Haley’s contention here, and cryptic use of the term “sidebar plan,” is troubling in the extreme, and Tillerson’s refusal to even respond to it does not reflect well on him. Kelly’s response, which does not in any way address the accusation, may be even worse.

As mentioned earlier, Haley’s interview – promoting her new book – is also a not-so-subtle attempt to keep herself in the public eye, ready to quickly move in the unlikely event of Trump’s actual removal by the Senate. The following passage reveals that part of her personal agenda:

Haley insists she has no immediate plans to run for any office, including the presidency, and as she departed the Trump administration last year she said, “I can promise you what I’ll be doing is campaigning for this one.”

She told O’Donnell, “A year is a long time in politics. It really is a lifetime in politics. And so, I think what’s best for me is take it a year at a time and see what happens.”

With her new book, lucrative speaking engagements, and a seat on the corporate board of Boeing, Nikki Haley acknowledges there are still chapters to be written:  “I’m too young to stop fighting. I’ll always be out there. I’ll always use the power of my voice for what I believe is good.”

So, whether the jumping off point becomes early 2020, early 2021 or the 2024 election campaign, you can be sure that Nikki Haley will be vying to become the face of the GOP in the wake of the Trump presidency. Lining herself up as this President’s most loyal and vocal supporter helps her cause immensely.

That is all.

Trump Moves to Florida, Where Taxes are Low and the Governor’s Approval is Sky-High

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

This is what happens when you have a city run by Marxists. – The President of the United States of America just thumbed his nose at his life-long home state, announcing on Twitter yesterday that he and his family are officially changing their residence to Palm Beach, Florida:

As if to prove the President’s point about having been “treated very badly by the political leaders of both the city and state,” New York’s thug Governor Andrew “Sonny” Cuomo responded by saying, “Good riddance. It’s not like Mr. Trump paid taxes here anyway. He’s all yours, Florida.”

All of which is, of course, abject, smelly horse manure. Trump and his family have paid hundreds of millions of dollars in taxes to New York City and State over the decades under their confiscatory income tax laws, and the economic activity created by his business ventures there have generated billions for the city and state coffers. But, whatever – Cuomo’s a Democrat and, as we saw on the floor of the House yesterday and every other day all over the news media, Democrat politicians lie as surely and as frequently as they draw breath.

In any event, the President’s change of residency is emblematic of the general flight of the wealthy away from New York and its increasingly confiscatory tax regimes that feature top rates of 9% for the state income tax and 4% for the City income tax, along with high rates of property and sales taxes. Contrast that to Florida, where residents pay zero income tax and lower rates of both sales and property taxes. If you have wondered why vast swaths of Florida feature retirement communities occupied mainly by ex-New Yorkers, here’s a clue: It isn’t just about the difference weather.

The Trump address change announcement comes at a very interesting moment from a political standpoint, since we also found out yesterday that GOP Governor Ron DeSantis, a strong supporter of President Trump, is amazingly popular with the people:

Remember: DeSantis prevailed in his 2018 election bid by just 33,000 votes, according to the official count. Of course, we must remember that the Democrat election officials in highly-populated Broward and Palm Beach counties were in full voter fraud mode in that one, so a legal vote count would no doubt have shown a significantly larger victory for DeSantis.

But a 72% public approval rate, with only 17% disapproving? Not even the Florida Democrat vote-stealing machine can steal that many votes. An approval rating like that means that DeSantis is doing a hell of a job in his office, and that is very, very bad news for the Democrat chances to take the presidency away from Trump in 2020.

The Democrat Party has already basically lost the big state of Ohio for the foreseeable future, thanks in large part to its opposition to oil and gas production – which has become a huge part of that state’s economy in the past decade – and the Trump-led renaissance of manufacturing activity there. With Ohio out of the picture, there is no viable scenario under which the 2020 Democrat nominee – regardless of which buffoon or Marxist the Party nominates – can hope to get to 270 electoral votes without winning Florida.

There is no more important asset to a presidential campaign in a key state than having the help of a popular governor, and there is no more popular governor in America right now than Ron DeSantis. It probably wasn’t a major motivating factor behind the Trump decision to change official residency, but that move, combined with DeSantis’s popularity may make Florida too steep a hill for even the Democrat vote fraud machine to climb in 2020.

Cool.

That is all.

Vote Faking in Florida and News Faking at CNN: Some Things Never Change

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

So, how about that Creepy Porn Lawyer, huh? –  When he was representing a porn star and suing President Donald Trump, Michael Avenatti was invited to appear on CNN no fewer than 108 separate times.  Since being arrested Tuesday night for allegedly beating his spouse Tuesday evening, CNN hasn’t found it possible to invite the Creepy Porn Lawyer to appear on its fake news TV platform, nor has it managed to file a report on the event.

That little fat, bald guy who is one of their on-air personalities, and whose name I can never remember and don’t care to look up, did manage to include a few sentences about the arrest in his newsletter which is read only by demented rich white women in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, but other than that, radio silence from the news fakers at CNN.  Because that is who they are.

But teacher, the dog ate my vote count! – At a press conference on Thursday morning, Broward County elections officials, i.e, vote-stealing frauds, assured the assembled press that they would have their machine recount completed well before the 3:00 p.m. ET deadline.  But then something funny happened:  They discovered that the machine recount had added to Republican Senatorial candidate Rick Scott’s winning margin by more than 1,000 votes.

Guess what happened?  Broward’s machine recount came in 2 minutes after the deadline, which means, after all of this rigmarole, the official vote total will be what Broward originally claimed it was.

Meanwhile, over in Palm Beach County, the vote-stealing Democrat frauds didn’t even bother to really try to turn in their machine recount, and just started their manual recount, which was ordered in the Senate race by Florida’s Secretary of State, early instead.

The net result of this is that Republican Ron DeSantis is the winner in the governor’s race, although that outcome will not be certified by the SoS until next Tuesday.  So get ready for Democrat loser Andrew Gillum, who still refuses to concede, to file some sort of lawsuit in the meantime.

Rick Scott will have to wait until at least Saturday to claim his victory over detestable Bill Nelson, who will probably also file some sort of lawsuit once the hand recount is completed.

We should not expect the Democrats to let this go until they have completely exhausted every legal angle their evil minds can concoct for the simple reason that there is no downside for them in keeping this alive.  When you have 98% of the nation’s news media faking the news on your behalf and doing nothing but reciting the daily talking points you provide to them, there is no price to be paid for doing everything you can to destroy the nation’s system of free elections, which is what the Democrats have been working on doing for the last 18 years now.

So the madness will continue, most likely until the Supreme Court forces it to end.

One America News Network makes a play for Fox’s fleeing audience. – Back to CNN, you should also expect that fake news network to pursue an appeal on its lawsuit against Donald Trump for his revocation of preening performance artist Jim Acosta’s White House press badge should they receive a negative decision at the District Court level.

The idiots now running CNN’s competitor, Fox News, made the decision on Wednesday to jump in on CNN’s side in the case.  This utterly insane and indefensible decision very predictably caused a huge backlash among Fox News fans, many of whom will now be looking for another news channel to serve as their safe haven from the fake news media.

Enter OANN, the news operation that has found a small but dedicated and growing audience since its inception a few years ago. Obviously smelling an opportunity, management at OANN decided to jump into the lawsuit as well, only by filing an amicus brief supporting the White House’s side of the argument.

Here are a couple of extremely correct arguments in OANN’s brief:

“Acosta does not have a protectible First Amendment interest or right in the context of this dispute,” OANN argued, adding that “while this narcissistic approach may serve Plaintiff’s self-interests as entertainers or media figures and the network that profits therefrom, they do not serve the interests of the forum.”

and…

Acosta “has hindered our free press from functioning effectively during White House briefings,” OANN argued in a court filing, calling Acosta’s behavior “disruptive.”

Awesome.  They should establish a GoFundMe account to pay for the legal fees.  If they do, I’m giving.

CNN probably will get a correctly adverse decision here, given that the judge in the case is not an Obama appointee. The judge in fact is a Trump appointee, Timothy J. Kelly, who was confirmed to his current job in the District of Columbia by the U.S. Senate on September 8, 2017. Judges for these cases are assigned based on a random, lottery-type system, and CNN had no doubt prayed the name of an Obama judge would come up in its case, which would have given them a great chance of prevailing. The drawing of a non-Obama judge means the case will be decided on the law rather than the principles of Saul Alinsky and Democrat talking points, so CNN is no doubt already preparing its appeal to the DC Circuit, whose membership is majority Obama/Clinton appointees.

Of course, CNN’s big problem is that, should they pursue their laughable claim to the bitter end, the bitter end will come a year or two from now in front of the U.S. Supreme Court and its 5-4 Constitutionalist majority. The arguments that a) the White House has no right to enforce standards of behavior on preening fake journalists during press events, and b) Jim Acosta somehow has a constitutional right to a White House press badge so he can continue to disrupt those press events as he pursues his performance art career are going to be tough sells to John Roberts and Sam Alito and Clarence Thomas and Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.

Judge Kelly is expected to issue his decision this morning, so we will know where this is going soon. If he rules in CNN’s favor, then the White House should simply disband the White House press corps, because it would then be in the completely intolerable position of having no authority to enforce any norms of behavior on what is nothing more than a collection of agents for the Democrat Party. That is simply not something that can be allowed to exist within this White House.

But if CNN loses, expect an appeal because, like the Democrats in Florida, there is no downside for this fake news network in doing so. It helps their ratings, and hey, you can’t harm a reputation that’s already been destroyed anyway.

That is all.

Just Another Day of Democrats Stealing Elections in America

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Why do we have to be this crazy? – Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is “back up and working” according to a relative after taking a fall and breaking three ribs early Thursday morning. That’s good news for the 85 year-old Ginsburg, and something every thinking American should be happy about.

But of course, that’s never the case on Twitter, where some right-wing idiots responded to the news that she was in the hospital with glee over the prospect of yet another Supreme Court nomination for President Donald Trump. C’mon, people.

Meanwhile, left-wing nuts kept the operators and security guards at Ginsburg’s hospital busy by calling and showing up with offers to donate their ribs and even vital organs to keep the octagenarian alive and working. These ghouls believe it is Ginsburg’s solemn duty to remain on the court until 2025, when she would be 92, if necessary in order to deny President Trump the opportunity to name her replacement.

Supreme Court appointments are supposed to be lifetime appointments, not life sentences, folks. And to you right-wing nuts, it really is fine to hope Ginsburg decides to retire soon and enjoy life a little bit in her latter years, but it really isn’t ok to hope she dies.

My goodness.

And just like that, Broward County was suddenly finished “finding” fake ballots. – As news spread yesterday that Democrat officials in Broward and Palm Beach Counties of Florida were up to their old tricks and attempting to steal the U.S. Senate and governor’s races there, Governor Rick Scott – who happens to be the legitimate winner in the Senate race – made the decision to send state law enforcement officials in to clean up the mess.

Miraculously, just minutes after the law enforcement officials had arrived, Broward’s despicably corrupt elections supervisor, Brenda Snipes, suddenly announced she and her evil minions were done counting ballots.

There are still several thousand military and overseas ballots outstanding that have until November 16 to show up and be counted, but with state law enforcement supervising the process and both Scott and Republican Governor-elect Ron DeSantis still holding sizable leads, there is no chance of these two outlaw counties reversing the legitimate decision made by the voters.

Thanks to the likely illegal votes already counted in Broward and Palm Beach, however, both races are now within the .5% margin that triggers automatic recounts under Florida law.  Thus, the nation will be treated to yet another fake news media circus thanks to rampant voter fraud operations by the Democrats in South Florida. These people make Lyndon Johnson and George Parr look like rank amateurs.

Meanwhile, out in Arizona… – Speaking of Democrats trying to steal elections, post-election day counting in Maricopa and Yuma Counties in Arizona miraculously “found” enough votes to change Republican Martha McSally’s 17,000 vote “win” into a 9,000 vote deficit to Democrat Kyrsten Sinema on Thursday as the Republican governor there did nothing to intervene in the process.  But don’t give up hope yet- there are reports that the remaining ballots left to be counted over the next few days are largely from areas that are normally Republican precincts.  Of course, unless state law enforcement is called in to supervise the process, those Republican-leaning areas have a way of turning into Democrat-leaning areas.

We’ll just have to wait and see.

And in Georgia, the peach still hasn’t conceded. – Ultra-leftist Democrat Stacey Abrams, who has lost the governor’s race to Republican Brian Kemp by more than 73,000 votes, still refuses to concede in the hopes that Democrat election officials can follow the lead of Broward County and “find” boxes mysteriously filled with votes overwhelmingly cast in her favor. Unless state officials there intercede, don’t be too surprised if that happens.  These people are soulless ghouls and will do anything to “win.”

Speaking of Lyndon Johnson and George Parr… – By the time the mysterious “Box 13” was “discovered” by election officials in Jim Wells County, Texas (not in Duval County, as is often misstated) to give that 1948 Democrat senate primary race to the man who would go onto become a president, President Harry Truman – himself a Democrat – had sent in FBI agents to begin an investigation at the request of Texas Governor Coke Stevenson, also a Democrat.

While it is probably premature to make any such move related to the shenanigans going on in Arizona and Georgia, the situation with utterly corrupt election officials in Palm Beach, Broward and several other counties in Florida has become so outrageous that it really does seem as if federal oversight would be appropriate. Every election cycle, we end up with a situation in which these Democrat-run counties are in violation of Florida’s law requiring votes to be counted and submitted within 48 hours of the polls having closed on election day. This does not happen in any Republican-run part of the state, or in some Democrat parts of the state, like Miami-Dade County.

Of course, the problem here is that the FBI was itself so utterly corrupted during the Obama years that we can’t be sure federal agents would do anything effective to stop the fraud. In any event, it is crystal clear we simply cannot trust any vote count coming from these Florida counties and many other Democrat-run areas of the country, and that is a blot on the legitimacy of our entire system.

Voter fraud is real, it is rampant, and it is exclusively a Democrat-run monopoly.

That is all.

American Political Revolutions Never Come Easy

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

This was never going to be easy. No political revolution ever progresses in a straight line. The American system – the Constitution itself – strongly agitates against rapid, radical political change of any kind.

In the first two years of the Barack Obama Administration, Americans saw rapid, radical political change and rebelled against it, turning the House over to Republicans in 2010 and then the Senate in 2014.  Americans again saw rapid, radical change over the past two years, as President Donald Trump reversed about 90% of the Obama era from the history books, and reacted last night by turning the House back to the Democrats.

This is not only nothing out of the ordinary, it is exactly how the nation’s founders consciously wanted the system to work. No one on either side has to like it, but it is important to recognize this reality of the American system and work to affect change within its confines.

So, just as happened in 2010, we end up with a split decision as the voters basically send a signal to Washington, D.C. to slow down. The country writ large isn’t necessarily opposed to the general direction things have been moving, but just wants to take more time to think about things before they happen.  This isn’t always a productive dynamic within the voting public, but we have no choice but to accept the verdict and move on.

In the House of Representatives, where I was hopeful that the Republicans would be able to retain a small majority, the Democrat gain will end up being around 30 net seats, perhaps a few more.  In the Senate, it’s most likely going to be 55 Republicans vs. 45 Democrats/Commies for the next two years, which is exactly where I had figured we’d end up since January.

The sad part of it all is that we will now get nothing out of the House of Representatives other than hearings and subpoenas and bombastic posturing by clowns like Maxine Waters and Adam Schiff for 24 solid months.  The good part of that is that those clowns and others will no doubt so disgust the voting public with their outrageous behavior that the voters will rebel again in 2020 and turn the House back over to the Republicans.  We can always hope, anyway.

The 55 seat majority in the Senate (which is what it will be whenever someone wakes up and declares McSally and Rosendale the winners in their races) means that Mitch McConnell no longer has to worry about getting Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski’s squish votes on every judicial nominee. And praise the lord, fellow squishes Jeff Flake and Bob Corker will no longer be around because they retired. What a relief that is.

Another blessing is that we Texans won’t have to hear any more nonsense about Beto O’Rourke.  Well, at least until January, that is, when he declares his candidacy for the 2020 Democrat presidential nomination, at which point he becomes the nation’s problem child. But everyone should be grateful to Ted Cruz for at least giving us a two month break.

Speaking of breaks, what is that new noise you are hearing from your radios and television sets this morning? Why, it’s the sound of non-political commercials! Isn’t that a joyful noise? Yes, I hate commercials as much as the next guy, but I have honestly missed them as the commercial breaks have been filled with nothing but negative political ads for the last two months.

In my home state of Texas, Republicans once again won every statewide election – as they have done in every cycle for the past quarter-century – but leaders of the Texas GOP will be waking up this morning with an uneasy feeling. While Governor Greg Abbott and a few other officeholders won their re-elections by the traditional double-digit margins, Cruz only prevailed against his well-funded opponent by 3% and several others, including Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, saw their winning edges cut to 5%.

Yes, Irish Bob O’Rourke’s ability to pour $80 million of California/New York money into his race at the top of the ticket had a significant impact in races all the way up and down the ballot. But there is little question that Texas Repubs need to do some real soul-searching and find ways to broaden their appeal, particularly to middle-class suburban women and Hispanics if they want to retain their statewide dominance for the next decade or more.

Some other observations:

  • In conceding his very close loss to Ron DeSantis in Florida’s governor’s race, Democrat Andrew Gillum displayed a high degree of class and dignity that will help sustain him as a force in Florida poltics for years to come. We have not heard the last of this guy.
  • Unfortunately, Democrat Stacey Abrams, the Democrat candidate for Governor in Georgia, can’t summon those same qualities within herself and will keep her state in turmoil despite her obvious defeat.  Sad.
  • Back in Texas, Republican Dan Crenshaw, the Purple Heart veteran who was smeared by the sick people at Saturday Night Live over the weekend, won his race and will serve in the House of Representatives for the next two years.  There is still justice in this world, although you often have to look too hard to find it.
  • It is truly gratifying that Jon Tester, the Democrat slug who smeared Admiral Ronny Jackson, is dying this long, slow political death up there in Montana this morning. Couldn’t happen to a more rotten guy.
  • Nevada is officially a blue state now, and that is frightening. One wonders how long it will take the Democrats to completely screw up the state money printing machine that is Las Vegas. I give it a decade.
  • Scott Walker finally, at long last, lost an election in the blue state of Wisconsin, ending one of the most amazing political success stories of modern times. We haven’t heard the last of Walker.
  • Socialist dimwit Alexandria Ocasio Cortez won her race, and God bless the people of Queens for giving her to us to make fun of for the next two years.
  • Once again, CNN completely outclassed all other TV outlets with its election coverage.  John King is without question, far and away the best election night analyst in the known universe.  While Fox News was having a coffee chat session with a bunch of pundits, King and Wolf Blitzer were taking CNN’s viewers on constant whirlwind, county-by-county, sometimes precinct-by-precinct tours of myriad house, senate and gubernatorial races all over the country.  I won’t turn the channel over to CNN again before 2020, but when Election Night comes around that November, I’ll make an exception.

Finally, as I was wrapping this up, just a few moments ago, President Donald Trump (I never tire of typing those three glorious words) whipped this out to Twitter land:

If you thought the man was going to be intimidated by Speaker San Fran Nan or Bugeyes Adam Schiff, well, think again.

That is all.

Get out and vote for Republicans. – If you haven’t already done so, get your sorry butt out to the polls tomorrow and vote Republican.  Period.  There is nothing to think about here.  Just find that “Straight Republican” button and hit it. Oh, and then wait and watch to make sure that your voting machine then populates the votes properly, because we have had reports of things not working properly (imagine that).

And yes, vote the straight Republican ticket, regardless of where you live.  I’m in Texas, as most of you know by now, and this is the easiest decision we’ve ever had.  I’m a ticket-splitter from way back, but way back was when there were still decent people running for office as Democrats.  No more.

Anyone who buys into today’s Democrat agenda, which includes stuff like Antifa, assaulting Trump supporters in public places, rampant voter fraud, single-payer healthcare, raising your taxes and open borders, is not a decent person.  Sorry, they just aren’t.  They might be good fathers, loving mothers and otherwise good citizens, but if they support the Democrat agenda, they can no longer be described as decent human beings. That’s what 25 years of running the party on the principles of Saul Alinsky has done for them.

If you have a problem with any Republican candidate, just remember that his or her opponent is a Democrat, and your problem becomes no problem at all. Democrats are not allowed anymore to be independent operators. A guy like Irish Bob O’Rourke is promising to go to Washington and buck the system, becoming an “independent voice” for Texans.

The truth is that Irish Bob would become the de facto third senator from New York as Chuck Schumer leads him around by the nose, telling him not only how to vote on every issue, but also which approved talking points to recite during his appearances on CNN and MSNBC. Hell, if you’re Joe Manchin, Schumer even dictates which lines at the State of the Union speech you can stand and applaud.  Manchin’s a three-term incumbent – you think a rookie from Texas is going to be treated any better?

The same goes for Colin Allred, the guy running against GOP incumbent congressman Pete Sessions.  Allred is a very good-looking and articulate guy, promising to go to Washington and challenge San Fran Nan at every turn on behalf of Texans. The truth is that San Fran Nan would have him wrapped around her crooked little finger about 5 minutes after he lands at Reagan National Airport.  Because Democrats march in lockstep on every issue. Period.

So, if you’re thinking about voting for O’Rourke or Allred, think again.  They’re Democrats.  If you’re thinking of voting for the Democrat (whomever it is) running against George P. Bush for Texas Land Commissioner because you don’t like Bush’s plan to turn the Alamo and surrounding grounds into a glorified amusement park, well, join the crowd.  But do you think the Democrat has a better idea?  Seriously?  What would that be – to turn it over to the federal Department of the Interior for safe keeping?

C’mon, man.  Be serious.

In the past two years, America has embarked on an almost unprecedented period of relative peace in the world and economic growth. The Trump Administration has reasserted American authority at the United Nations, NATO and all the various G-7, G-20 and whatever other G-something or other summits there are these days. The horrendous turmoil in the Middle East that resulted from the Obama-sanctioned “Arab Spring” has been greatly calmed and ISIS has been largely destroyed.

The Crazy Little Fat Guy over in North Korea hasn’t fired a missile in hostility in many months, and his main interactions with the U.S. these days involve requesting more meetings with the Secretary of State and other U.S. representatives to get approval for his next step toward decommissioning his country’s nuclear capabilities.

Russia, which invaded Crimea, Syria and the Ukraine during the Obama years, hasn’t invaded anyone since January 20, 2017.  This is not a coincidence.  China has been helpful with the Trump approach to North Korea, and now appears ready to make a real trade deal after five months of escalating “trade war” with the United States has begun to damage its economy.

So, after you’ve had a couple of cups of coffee and showered tomorrow morning (yes, please shower for everyone’s sake), go vote.  For Republicans.  Straight ticket.  It’s not just the right idea, it’s your duty if you love this country.  It’s the easiest decision you’ve ever had.

And now, for some final predictions:

The Republicans will gain a net 4 senate seats, defeating McCaskill in Missouri, Heitcamp in North Dakota, and some combination of Tester in Montana, Manchin in West Virginia, Nelson in Florida and Donnelly in Indiana.  They will lose some combination of Heller in Nevada or McSally in Arizona.  The net of all of that will be a 4-seat gain and an overall 55-seat majority for the next two years.

In the House, the Republicans hold onto their advantage, losing a net 15 seats.

That’s where I’ve been since January, and I see no reason to change now.

In some specific high-profile races:

Irish Bob “Beto” O’Rourke’s $80 million campaign will buy him 45% of the vote in his race against Ted Cruz.  Four years ago, $30 million got Wendy Davis 39% of the vote.  So, if the Democrats can throw about $125 million behind some chosen golden child in 2022, they might actually win a race in Texas.

But this year, Republicans will win every statewide election in Texas, as they have done in every statewide election cycle since 1994.

Republican Brian Kemp will win 52% of the vote in the Georgia governor’s race, just enough to avoid a runoff there.

In Florida, the early voting is tilting very nicely for the Republicans, who always have a significant voting edge on Election Day.  Based on that, I think Ron DeSantis will eke out a very narrow win in the governor’s race over Democrat/socialist Andrew Gillum there.

Again, I’m either going to look like a genius or a damn fool come Wednesday morning, but we’ll have fun tomorrow night regardless.
That is all.

John McCain: Bitter ’til the Bitter End, and Even Beyond

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

A sad and bitter man ’til the sad and bitter end.  And beyond, apparently. – John McCain always wore his bitterness on his sleeve, generating and holding grudges like no one else in the nation’s capital.  Given his experiences during the Vietnam conflict, it was easy to see why that was the case, and I had planned to make no mention of this reality of McCain’s personality in an effort to avoid speaking ill of the dead.

But then, on a long drive Wednesday afternoon, a radio commentator reported the news that McCain and his family have chosen to ban his extremely loyal 2008 running mate, Sarah Palin, from attending the dead Senator’s funeral.  Thus does McCain reach out from whatever lies on the other side of this life in a pitiful and petty effort to settle one final grudge.

The wonder is why there was any grudge to begin with.  Sarah Palin was nothing but the loyal soldier to McCain, both throughout their failed campaign together and in the decade that has passed since.  She never had anything but glowing praise for the man, and issued this statement last Saturday upon learning of his passing:

Gracious, glowing, praising the man into whose moribund campaign she injected a little life, though not enough to get him across the finish line in the face of a horrifically negative slander campaign mounted against them both by the Democrats and the fake national news media.  McCain was initially gracious towards Palin after the defeat, but over the years became convinced his loss was somehow her fault.  Earlier this year he told a fawning fake reporter that choosing Palin as his running mate was a mistake, speculating that Joe Lieberman, a Democrat, would have made a better choice.  Yeah, sure – all those Republican delegates at the convention would have been just thrilled with the prospect of having to vote against all of their core beliefs so their nominee could have his coveted “collegiality” on the ticket.

Thus, McCain reaches out one final time to settle what was in his warped mind an old score.  It is easy to understand his feelings about President Trump; this, on the other hand, is purely mean-spirited and petty.

So let’s all pray that John McCain can Rest In Peace in the next life since he so obviously never could in this one.

Democrat/Media Playbook, Page 1: Play the race card. – GOP Florida gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis hadn’t even gotten his general election campaign off the ground before the fake news media and rancid Democrats started throwing their playbook at him.  After he used the common phrase “monkey this up” during an interview Wednesday morning on Fox News, the Democrat/Media axis of propaganda pounced, claiming the term is “racist” since the Democrat nominee, Andrew Gillum, happens to be an African American.

Of course, the Democrats and media are lying here, but hey, that’s what they do.  DeSantis, referring to the undisputed fact that Gillum is an admitted “Democrat Socialist”, said the following:

“We’ve got to work hard to make sure that we continue Florida going in a good direction. The last thing we need to do is to monkey this up by trying to embrace a socialist agenda with huge tax increases and bankrupting the state.”  A pretty reasonable statement that refers to Gillum’s admitted political beliefs, and is obviously not directed in any way at his skin color.

But skin color is constantly at the top of every leftist Democrat’s mind, and so DeSantis’s use of the word “monkey” had become a media-generated fake controversy before he was able to get back into his car following the interview.  I don’t know about anyone else, but if I were a Black man I think I’d be highly offended that every Democrat and fake journalist in America equates me with a monkey.  Because that is what this really is all about.

CNN:  The King of Fake News and damn proud of it. – Management at CNN, the fakest fakety-fake #fakenews outlet on the face of the earth, continued to cling to its latest completely fake story for a third day after it was revealed to be fake.  The obvious hope at CNN is that they can just ride out the storm until the rest of the fake news media forgets about the story – and in reality, most of the rest of the fake news media never paid any attention to it in the first place.

What CNN is going through right now is the direct result of relying on anything Lanny Davis has to say as being true.  Lanny Davis has made a fabulous living for the last 25 years being a professional liar on television.  He has lied for a living on behalf of a seemingly endless array of skunks and snakes, starting with Bill and Hillary Clinton and now doing it for ex-Trump lawyer Michael Cohen.

CNN stupidly aired a “breaking news” story, authored in part by shameless hack Carl Bernstein, claiming that “multiple sources” had told them that President Trump knew in advance about the infamous “Trump Tower meeting” his son and a couple of campaign officials conducted with some Russians in October 2016.  Davis was one of those “multiple sources,” and it is very likely that the other “source” is Cohen himself.

Early this week, Davis admitted on live television that he had lied to Bernstein, and that neither he nor Cohen have any actual knowledge about the story’s allegation against the President.  Any decent, real “news” outlet, when caught so blatantly with its pants down around its figurative ankles, would simply retract the story and ban the source that burned it from its airwaves.  But this is CNN, where the professional liar Davis has been a “source” for all manner of fake stories for a quarter of a century.  When you’re into news fakery as deeply as CNN is, you don’t retract and apologize for the fake story, you just keep lying and standing by your fake source and fake reporters.

By the way, CNN’s ratings for the first two weeks of August were down another 12% from July, as viewers abandon the fake news network in droves for Fox or MSNBC, or perhaps even for a little peace in their lives.  CNN’s prime time lineup is now regularly beaten in the ratings by re-runs of “American Pickers” and “Counting Cars” on the History Channel.  If this trend continues, pretty soon the only viewers CNN will have left are the captive audiences of beaten down travelers in our nation’s airports.

Just another day in fake news media America.

That is all.

Our Public Opinion Polls are Still as Awful as They Were in 2016

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Why we should all stop paying attention to the polls. – In Florida’s GOP primaries, numerous polling groups conducted polls of the governor’s race over the past few months. The RealClearPolitics average of all the most recent polls pegged the race at a 6.7% advantage for Ron DeSantis, who was endorsed by President Trump.

The final result? DeSantis wins by a whopping 20% of the vote.  None of the polls taken in the race had DeSantis pulling more than 41% of the overall vote.  He actually won 56%.

In addition to all of that, barely two months ago, a poll commissioned by Fox News showed DeSantis trailing the other major candidate in the race, Adam Putnam, by 15%.  So the people at Fox are trying to convince us that this race turned around by 37 points in a little over 60 days.  Sure it did.

Stop worrying about polls. They are no better this year than they were in 2016. Most of them are conducted using awful methodologies and absurd samples for the purposes of a) creating fake news stories; b) generating clicks to the web pages of the entities sponsoring or conducting the poll; and c) attempting to influence public opinion.

The race between incumbent Senator Ted Cruz and Democrat challenger Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke in Texas is another great example of why many of these polls really don’t give us a shred of reliable information.  A recent poll in that race, sponsored by the Texas Lyceum, showed the contest actually in almost a dead heat, with Cruz polling 41% support to O’Rourke’s 39%.

Wow.  Shocker, right?  I mean, Texas is a state in which no Democrat has actually won a statewide election in a quarter of a century, a state won pretty easily by Donald Trump in 2016, one in which Democrat statewide candidates had trouble finishing within 20% of their GOP opponents in the last statewide elections in 2014.  So a win by O’Rourke, a man of Irish descent who is attempting to convince Texas’s Hispanic voters that he is one of them with his hip nickname, and Millenials that he is one of them by doing lots of cursing in his campaign events, would be a huge upset.

The Lyceum poll’s snapshot of a dead heat race appeared to gain some support with last week’s release of a poll from Emerson College showing the Cruz lead down to just 1%, at 39-38.  Again, wow, if only it were true.

The problems with these polls are numerous, however.  The Lyceum poll’s sample is fairly large at 1,178, but 27% of those polled aren’t registered to vote, and just 27% of respondents said they were “extremely interested” in the campaign.  All of which means this poll tells us pretty much nothing at all about what might actually happen at the polling places in Texas in November.

But it gets worse.  It turns out that the people who conducted this poll chose to pretend that Texas – a state in which no Democrat has won a statewide race since 1994 – is a dead even state in terms of party identification, choosing to question 39% Democrats, 39% Republicans and 22% Independents.  Now, based on past voting patterns, these percentages should really look more like 44% Republican, 30% Democrat and 26% Independent.  Something close to that, anyway.

All other aspects of this poll being equal, the choosing of a sample truly representative of the Texas adult population would probably have ended up showing Cruz with a lead of 8-10%.  Focusing the sample on likely voters most likely would have increased Cruz’s polling margin, given the historic disparity in party voter turnout patterns in Texas in recent elections.

The Emerson College poll is equally problematic.  While it does focus on registered voters, the sample size consists of just 550 people in a state with a wildly diverse population of 25 million or so. The number of different ethnic groups living in the city of Houston alone probably exceeds the total sample surveyed by this poll.

To make matters worse, party identification breakdown for the poll is impossible to discover.  It may be out there somewhere, but if so, it is extremely well-hidden.  One distressing result of the hilariously inaccurate polling outcomes of the 2016 elections has been a trend of these polling entities being reluctant to publish full, accurate details about the nature of their samples.

Increasingly, polling entities like Emerson do their best to avoid revealing key factors like party ID breakouts to the public.  This is the case with another recent poll in the Cruz/O’Rourke race – the NBC/Marist poll – which shows Cruz’s lead at 4%, but doesn’t really inform us how it got there.

What does that tell us?  It tells us that these polling companies, universities and sponsoring media outlets have little, if any, confidence in their polling methods in today’s rapidly changing society.  Rather than simply be honest and clearly inform the public of that reality, they hide aspects of their methodologies in order to minimize criticism.

Is the race between Cruz and O’Rourke fairly close at this point, with Cruz’s lead at least within single digits?  Yes, probably.  Irish Beto has thus far benefitted from the love affair he’s engaged in with the Texas and national news media, and the fact that most of the Texas population has little idea who he is or knowledge of his radical leftist policy views.  A fear of ending that knowledge gap is probably why Mr. Beto suddenly backed out of his scheduled debate with Sen. Cruz this Friday.  No use spilling those troublesome beans to the voters before he absolutely has to.

But is this a 1 or 2 point race, as these two highly problematic polls attempt to indicate?  Not bloody likely.  What these two polls really tell us is the same thing the disparity between the polls and the actual outcome of the race in Florida tells us:  We should all stop paying attention to these polls.

Just another day in the public opinion polls are a sad joke America.

That is all.

You Want a New FBI Director? How About Michael Horowitz?

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Yes, because remember how much she did for Haiti.  Wait, what?  – In keeping with her life-long belief that there’s a sucker born every minute, the Pantsuit Princess has decided to use the media-generated fake border crisis as a fundraiser.  Yes, even though she isn’t technically running for anything right now, the Grasping Grifter, even at her advanced age, just cannot let a good fake crisis go to waste.

So she sent out a fundraising email yesterday to all of her millions of dimwit supporters, urging them to send her money to her new political organization, Onward Together, so these morons can think they are “doing something” by purchasing the Fainting Felon a new Lamborghini or whatever she plans to do with this latest batch of ill-gotten gain.  Because, hey, there really is a sucker born every minute, and they all voted for the Coughing Crook in 2016.

Here’s what the fake border crisis is really all about. – It’s not about soulless leftist ghouls who support Planned Parenthood’s trafficking in baby body parts suddenly caring about children, it’s not about the Trump Administration’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy, it’s not about wanting to keep families together or any of the nonsense First Lady Laura Bush included in her disgraceful op/ed in the WaPo yesterday (Japanese internment camps?  Really, Laura?  Who talked you into putting your name to that line of abject BS?).  Those are just the well-coordinated talking points on the matter agreed to by the Democrat Party and their propaganda agents in the national news media.

This is about what immigration fights are always about:  The Democrats want to turn our nation into just another third world country filled with people dependent on the government, and they believe the best way to do that is to flood the southern border with immigrants from third world countries.  This current effort is an attempt to destroy the rules that govern legitimate requests for asylum.  Those rules currently apply only to very specific life-threatening situations:  Democrats want to expand those rules so that they essentially will allow anyone in for any reason, including – you guessed it – poverty.

Think about it:  almost all of the people currently being held in these migrant centers are from central America.  They traveled well over 1,000 miles in an arduous journey through Mexico where, if they really needed asylum from a life-threatening situation, they could have sought asylum.

Did any of them do that?  No.  Why?  Because they don’t want asylum in Mexico, they want to live in America, where the government doles out benefits like no one actually has to ulimately pay for them.  Before they left their home countries, most of these “refugees” have in fact been trained by American social justice warriors on exactly what fake story to tell when they reach the U.S. in order to gain entry, an effort that began about half a decade ago during – you guessed it – the Obama Administration.

President Trump says that isn’t going to happen, “Not on my watch,” and more than 500 days into his presidency he has given us no reason not to believe he means it.  But there are a whole bunch of weak-kneed establishment Republicans up on Capitol Hill who will sell you all out in a heartbeat for any legislation that “solves” this issue.  So, you’d best all get on the phone and warn your congressman or woman to think twice.  Trust me, some of them really need the warning.

Meanwhile, up on Capitol Hill, DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz and feckless FBI Director Christopher Wray testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee about the IG’s report issued last Thursday, which covered the FBI’s fake 2016 investigation into the Pantsuit Princess’s email scandal.

As I predicted in yesterday’s Campaign Update, Wray was his typical dissembling self, reciting careful talking points written for him by other people to recite, deflecting, refusing to answer on false grounds and just generally looking like the small and ineffective man he obviously is.  His smallness and ineffectiveness were only amplified by having to sit next to Horowitz, who, even with one hand obviously tied behind his back by Rod Rosenstein, was as forthcoming as he could be and did his best to provide the Committee with as much information as he possibly could.

The session began with Chairman Chuck Grassley tossing out the first bombshell, detailing the fact that he had also invited former FBI Director and current teenage drama queen James Comey to testify, and that Comey’s lawyer had sent back a decline letter in which he stated Comey, if forced to testify, would exercise his 5th amendment right against self-incrimination.  This huge news was of course studiously ignored by the fake national news media.

Horowitz stuck with the obviously dictated talking point that he didn’t find “documentary evidence” that the blatant political bias exposed on the part of FBI Super Duper Agent Peter Strzok, ex-FBI lawyer Lisa Page, ex-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and Comey himself influenced the conduct of the fake investigation, but no one was buying it.  And, despite that absurd protestation, Horowitz did manage to sprinkle in details of all manner of obvious bias throughout his answers to the pointed questions coming from some of the committee members, including Lindsey Graham, John Kennedy and Ted Cruz, in addition to Grassley himself.

In addition to those details, Horowitz also laid out two big pieces of new information that were not included in his report:

  • He informed the committee that the Teenage Drama Queen himself is actually the subject of a current, ongoing investigation into his mishandling of classified documents; and
  • He confirmed the existence of a federal grand jury looking into all of this, which is most likely associated with U.S. Attorney John Huber’s ongoing investigation into all of the FBI/DOJ’s 2016 efforts to fix the election.

Many, including me, have long suspected that Huber must have at least one and possibly multiple grand juries convened for months now, but before yesterday, no one at DOJ had confirmed that likelihood.

Horowitz will testify again today, this time before the House Judiciary Committee chaired by Bob Goodlatte.  The membership of that committee includes bulldogs like Jim Jordan, Trey Gowdy, Matt Gaetz and Ron DeSantis, so expect some real fireworks from today’s session.

Interestingly, our useless FBI Director will not be accompanying Horowitz in today’s testimony.  Which only further raises the question:  Why is this guy in that job?  What good is he to anyone?  He’s nothing but a career bureaucrat, obviously in way over his head, and he has no intention of reforming anything.

Some have speculated that Wray is just a placeholder who will be replaced by a more effective, reform-minded leader when all the dust has settled from these investigations.  Trey Gowdy’s name has often come up as a possible replacement, given his background as a prosecutor before he ran for congress.  Gowdy in fact almost appears to be angling for that eventuality, given his always equivocal public statements regarding the FBI and its “stellar” “rank and file.”

I have a better idea:  How about making Horowitz Director of the FBI when all of the investigations are done?  You want a reformer, how about the guy who knows where all the agency’s bad actors and bodies are buried better than anyone else?  You want someone who knows how to manage?  This guy has been managing a gigantic staff conducting dozens of simultaneous investigations for a decade now.  You want someone who isn’t shy about bucking the system and isn’t squeamish about fighting higher-ups?  Horowitz has been doing that his entire career.

It’ll probably never happen, but after yesterday, it sure seems like a heck of a good idea.  Just throwing it out there.

Just another day in the drama never ends America.

That is all.

In Three Weeks, America Will Find Out Who Jeff Sessions Really Is

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Florida Republican Congressman Ron DeSantis, along with 10 other GOP members of the House, sent a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions and FBI Director Christopher Wray on Wednesday, detailing formal criminal referrals against James Comey, Hillary Clinton, Loretta Lynch and Andrew McCabe.  While Sean Hannity and other conservative radio and TV talk show hosts played the letter up as if it is a momentous event, the truth is that it makes referrals that are already being acted upon by the Attorney General.

Sessions has already and repeatedly made it clear that he will act on these referrals and other potential criminal activity by former Obama officials after DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz issues his final report detailing the findings from his 15 month-long investigation into potential criminal wrongdoing by deep state DOJ and FBI personnel during the 2016 election campaign.  That investigation also covers the FBI/DOJ handling of its sham investigation into the Clinton email scandal, and thus impacts every one of the Obama-era officials named in the DeSantis letter.

Here are some things we already know about all of this:

  • We know that the referral on McCabe is redundant at best, since it is related to the same claims of criminal wrongdoing that got McCabe fired in the first place, and the proof of which were detailed in the report issued by IG Horowitz specific to McCabe’s actions late last week.
  • We know without any doubt at all that the referral against the Pantsuit Princess, that she violated campaign finance law by failing to disclose the millions of dollars her campaign spent to fund the fake Trump Dossier, is valid and ought to be prosecuted by DOJ, if there is any such thing as equal treatment under the law in this country.
  • We know without any doubt at all that the referral against Comey, relating to his leaks of classified information contained in his memos to the New York Times is absolutely true, and ought to be prosecuted by DOJ.
  • We know without any doubt at all that the referral against Lynch, relating to her well-document threats of reprisal against a key witness in the Uranium One case, is absolutely valid and ought to be prosecuted by DOJ.
  • Finally, we know that Attorney General Sessions has appointed his U.S. Attorney in Salt Lake City, John Huber, to lead DOJ’s handling of all of these cases and more, and we know that Mr. Huber has been working on this assignment since at least last October, and possibly since July of last year.  We also know that he has had a grand jury convened for months now, and has been working in concert with IG Horowitz and his team of more than 700 investigators.

So what’s the point?  The point is that, while the DeSantis letter amounts to a bit of political grandstanding, it is not meaningless.  Every charge made in it is clearly valid, and the validity of every criminal act alleged in it is well-documented by now in the public record.

Sessions has been well aware of all of these things and much more for many months now.  He claims to have had Huber leading the DOJ charge to determine who will be prosecuted and on what charges.  Horowitz has informed congress that he plans to issue his final report in May, and is in fact scheduled to offer testimony related to that report before Trey Gowdy and the House Oversight Committee on May 8.  That would indicate that Gowdy has information that the Horowitz report will have been issued by that time.

May 8 is about three weeks from today.  Assuming all goes as scheduled, we will by that time finally have a clear answer to the question of whether Mr. Sessions is a real attorney general who is truly intent upon restoring the rule of law in this country after the previous eight years of abject corruption, or if he is just another deep state actor intent on preserving the status quo.

My bet is that we will find out that Mr. Sessions is a real attorney general, if only because the alternative is too horrible to contemplate.

Interestingly, when Mr. Horowitz offered testimony on unrelated matters before Gowdy’s committee on Wednesday, it was obvious that the ranking Democrat, Gerry Connelly, believes Horowitz’s report will be quite damaging to Democrats.  Connelly focused his questioning in a way that tried to portray Horowitz – who was hired into his job by Barack Obama – as a Republican partisan in an effort to start laying the groundwork for what will be the obvious initial Democrat/fake news media tactic after the IG’s report comes out.

Connelly thinks Sessions is a real attorney general, too.  If he didn’t, he wouldn’t feel the need to demonize Mr. Horowitz.  You should expect to see negative stories about Horowitz to start popping up in the various fake news media outlets in the coming days as well, as the fake journalists ramp up their demonization campaign in earnest.

Just another day in the Horowitz Report is coming America.

That is all.
