Thursday News Roundup: Drama Queen Generals, Northam Virtue Signals, and a Circular Commie Firing Squad

How did the U.S. military get overrun by leftists? – That’s the open question today after former Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis outed himself in a histrionic anti-Trump opinion piece in the leftist rage The Atlantic. Mattis becomes just the latest in a long line of generals and admirals who have shown themselves to be dogmatic leftists over the past decade.

Much of this leftist takeover of the military upper echelons can of course be laid at the feet of Barack Obama – who also reared his annoying head yesterday – but not all of it can. Because guys like Mattis and John Kelly and H.R. McMaster and William McRaven had moved into high positions well before Obama was even elected to the U.S. Senate in 2006.

If you still doubt Mattis’s true political leanings, Lara Logan reminds us in a series of tweets about his odd behavior during the Trump Transition in 2016/early 2017:

She continues:

They were shocked by who Mattis wanted as his number 2 – he was pushing for Michelle Flournoy, the same person HRC had reportedly picked to lead DOD in her Administration, acc to sources/articles at the time, such as one Politico published in Nov 2016. They put it this way:

“THE NEXT ADMINISTRATION – HILLARY CLINTON’S HISTORY-MAKING DEFENSE SECRETARY IN WAITING”. Always wondered why Mattis would want someone like that at his side? Seems unlikely she would have been loyal to the President she would have served – was he?

Men like him knew Gen Mike Flynn was loyal to the US not Russia, yet they said nothing? As Sec Def, Mattis would have had access to all intelligence. What happened to that military code of honor in Flynn’s case? What about his Commander-in-Chief? He was silent then – but not now.

[End]

Oh.

And hey, Mattis just happens to be hawking a new book. So he’s not just a leftist, he’s a shameless self-promoting hack as well.

Good lord.

Then there is the case of current Defense Secretary Mark Esper, who went out of his way to politically undermine his Commander in Chief at a press conference on Wednesday, even as he claimed in his next breath to be non-political. Esper’s position on using the U.S. military, beyond the National Guard, to quell the rioting is certainly not unreasonable:

“The option to use active duty forces in a law enforcement role should only be used as a matter of last resort, and only in the most urgent and dire of situations. We are not in one of those situations now. I do not support invoking the Insurrection Act,” he told reporters.

That’s fine, and it’s an opinion shared by many. But there is a chain of command in place in our armed services that must be respected if they are to be effective fighting forces. Esper’s public remarks were decidedly political in nature and may well conflict with those of the President. That is not his role, and it was an act of insubordination. It was a purely political act, one that put the lie to Esper’s claims of being non-political and undermined his own credibility and authority.

President Trump should not tolerate it and ought to be looking for a new SecDef.

Then Esper can go write a book of his own.

Speaking of dogma… – Did you know you’re a racist if you go out and try to clean up your community after a violent riot? That’s what these three ladies discovered the hard way:

Yore attenshun puh-lease good citizens! Tha Raght Honorable Guvnah of tha Commonwealth a’ Virginia, Ralph Coonman Northam, is a-gonna do some virtue signalin’! – Ralph Northam, the racist, baby-killing fascist Democrat who still has his state in a lockdown, is going to make a grand virtue-signaling gesture this morning at a press conference in which he will announce he is removing a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee.

It’s his version of taking a knee.

These are not good odds. – At least 7 black people have now been killed during riots that have taken place in response to a single black person. Never forget that these riots have been organized and executed by the Democrat support groups Antifa and Black Lives Matter, and facilitated by Democrat mayors.

And now to leave you with some good news! The communist Bernie Sanders supporters have formed a circular firing squad! – Ok, it’s just on Twitter, but still, it’s always a good thing for America when the commies are fighting among themselves.

From a report at Politico:

“The left circular firing squad never rests and never misses a beat squandering an opportunity to get its head out of its ass to actually organize people outside of the cult,” said Jonathan Tasini, the author of “The Essential Bernie Sanders and His Vision for America” and a national surrogate for Sanders in 2016. “I just find it sad and head-shaking that this kind of crossfire is coming out now when the progressive movement has the opportunity to talk to millions of people.”

The skirmish began when David Sirota, Sanders’ former speechwriter, took a shot at the policy task forces that Sanders and presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden created in hopes of healing party rifts. Ex-campaign manager FaizShakir and Analilia Mejia, Sanders’ former national political director, have been in talks about the endeavor with top Biden advisers Anita Dunn — who is loathed by some progressives for previously consulting with disgracedHollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein about a New York Times investigation — and Ron Klain.

“I don’t know who needs to hear this, but many of us don’t want to hear career Beltway political operatives boasting about task forces while this shit is going on right now,” Sirota tweeted. “Jfc — try to be a little less tone deaf.”

That prompted Mike Casca, Sanders’ current spokesman, to make an explosive charge shortly before 11 p.m. about a progressive newsletter Sirota currently runs, after managing a similar project on the 2020 campaign. The publication offers a paid annual subscription option at a cost of $50.

“[D]amn right,” Casca tweeted, “real change happens when you steal an email list from the campaign and use it to create your own paid newsletter. why can’t anyone see that? anyway, subscribe if you can.”

The sudden remarks exposed the deep frustration among senior Sanders staffers about some ex-aides’ second-guessing about the campaign’s mistakes. Along with Casca, Shakir hit back Tuesday at former Sanders aide Winnie Wong, who has been publicly bashing him and senior adviser Jeff Weaver for weeks over their handling of the primary and post-campaign moves.

Sunday News Roundup: Sullivan Lawyers Up, Cuomo Deflects Blame, and Trump Tees Off

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

If this surprises you, you haven’t been paying attention. – Federal Judge Emmet Sullivan, under fire for his bizarre conduct of the case involving the framing of General Mike Flynn, will not be filing his own response to the DC Circuit Court of Appeals’ order for him to explain himself by Friday. Instead, the Washington Post reports that he has taken the extraordinary step of hiring “a high-profile lawyer” to do that for him:

The federal judge who refused a Justice Department request to immediately drop the prosecution of former Trump adviser Michael Flynn has hired a high-profile trial lawyer to argue his reasons for investigating whether dismissing the case is legally or ethically appropriate.

In a rare step that adds to this criminal case’s already unusual path, U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan has retained Beth Wilkinson to represent him in defending his decision to a federal appeals court in Washington, according to a person familiar with the hire who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter. The U.S. District Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit is now examining the judge’s actions and the larger case against Flynn after lawyers for President Trump’s former national security adviser asked the court to force Sullivan to toss Flynn’s guilty plea.

Wilkinson, known for her top-notch legal skills and get-results style, is expected to file a notice with the court in the coming week about representing the judge. She declined to comment when reached Friday evening. Sullivan also declined to comment through his office.

[End]

Don’t you just love the phrasing? “high-profile”; “top-notch legal skills”; “get-results style;” the pathetic Post reporter must have just done a cut-and-paste from Wilkinson’s marketing flyer, which no doubt was stapled to the handy talking points memo that came in from the DNC.

So, what does this tell us? It tells us that Judge Sullivan is worried, very worried. The order from the DC Circuit demanded a response personally from him, not some “high-profile lawyer” with a “get-results style.” It also tells us that the judge who refused to allow the DOJ’s motion to dismiss the case is not confident that he is capable of explaining his own actions. Amazing.

The Post story indicates that Wilkinson plans to file a notice to the court that she will be doing the responding on the judge’s behalf, something the Circuit Court has no obligation to allow. This will be another very interesting week in the Soviet-style show trial of General Flynn.

“None of the men are wearing masks.” – President Donald Trump (I never tire of typing those three glorious words) drove the corrupt news media nuts once again on Saturday, simply by playing his first round of golf since early March. The automatonic ghouls at CNN and MSNBC tut-tutted about it all day long, obsessing over the fact that, while spending four hours in the wide open spaces, neither the President nor any of his playing partners and entourage were – gasp! – wearing masks.

Coronavirus: Trump golfs while 2014 comes back to haunt him

Oh, the humanity!

Not even Anthony Fauci is confused enough to pretend that wearing a mask would serve any productive purpose in that setting, and you can be certain that none of the TV talking heads, cooped-up in their enclosed studios with cameramen and production staff, were wearing masks while doing all the tut-tutting and tsk-tsking.

These are the worst people in our society. They truly are.

Yore attenshun good citizens! Tha Honorabull Rayaph Coonman Northam is a-gonna go visit tha beach and mingle with tha peoples down theyah! – Meanwhile, detestable Democrat Virginia Governor Ralph Northam was doing this:

Image

No one at CNN or MSNBC had a word to say about it. Funny how that works.

Living in a Democrat state is hazardous to your health. – No really, it is. Reuters compiled data showing that residents in “blue” areas of the country are three times more likely to die of the Wuhan Virus than residents living in the “red” areas:

Image

So, come on to Texas and Florida, folks, but when you get here, don’t vote for Democrats.

Speaking of dangerous Democrat governors… – Andrew Cuomo, in his frenzy to misdirect blame for his state’s thousands of nursing home deaths anywhere but in his direction, is now claiming that he issued his order forcing hospitals to send infected elderly patients back to nursing homes based on guidance from the Trump Administration:

Gov Cuomo blames Trump administration for forcing him to send 4,300 coronavirus hospital patients to nursing homes where 5,800 New York residents died

  • New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has argued that he was simply following White House guidance on sending hospital patients to nursing homes
  • ‘Don’t criticize the state for following the president’s policy,’ Cuomo said
  • It was revealed Thursday that 4,300 recovering coronavirus patients were sent to New York’s already vulnerable nursing homes
  • There have been more than 5,800 nursing and adult care facility deaths in New York

This is a completely false claim. No guidance from the federal government or anyone else justified Cuomo’s unconscionable, ghoulish order.

But here are tools supplied by the federal government to New York that Governor Cuomo could have used to avoid sending those infected patients to those nursing homes, where they infected thousands more residents who might otherwise have avoided the virus:

  • A 1,000 bed Navy hospital ship that saw a grand total of 84 patients before leaving New York Harbor;
  • A 2,900 bed field hospital at the Jacob Javits Center that Cuomo and Bill de Blasio barely used;
  • A 500 bed field hospital in Brooklyn that also sat barely used.

Let’s be crystal clear: Andrew Cuomo and Andrew Cuomo alone is responsible for the needless deaths of thousands of nursing home residents in New York. Period.

That is all.

Thursday News Roundup: DeSantis, Whitmer, Northam, Morning Mika and More

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who has unarguably led one of the most successful responses to the Wuhan Virus pandemic in his state, it well and truly fed up with the idiotic coverage coming from Florida’s corrupt news media.

Check out this clip from his Wednesday press availability with Vice President Mike Pence:

Transcript:

“Our data is available; our data is transparent. In fact, Dr. Birx has talked multiple times about how Florida has the absolute best data. So, any insinuation otherwise is just typical partisan narrative trying to be spun. Part of the reason is that, because you’ve got a lot of people in your profession who waxed poetically for weeks and weeks about how Florida was gonna be just like New York.  ‘Wait two weeks, Florida’s gonna be next! Just like Italy in two weeks!’

“Well, hell, we’re 8 weeks away from that and it hasn’t happened. Not only do we have a lower death rate – well, we have way lower deaths generally – we have a lower death rate than the Acela Corridor; D.C., everyone up there. We have a lower death rate than the Midwest: Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio. But even in our region – Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia – Florida has the lower death rate. And, I [Florida] was the number one landing spot from tens of thousands of people leaving the number one hot zone in the world [New York City] to come to my state.

“So, we succeeded, and I think that people just don’t want to recognize it because it challenges their narrative; it challenges their assumption; so they gotta try to find a boogeyman. Maybe it’s that there are black helicopters circling the Department of Health. If you believe that, I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn I’d like to sell you.”

[End]

Perfect.

Life is tough for Church Lady Joe Scarborough when Morning Mika is all verklempt. – Morning Mika was so verklempt over President Donald Trump’s tweets yesterday that she actually promised to put in a call to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to beg him to ban the President from the platform.

I’m not kidding:

MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski says she will speak with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to discuss getting President Trump banned from Twitter.

The “Morning Joe” co-host argued that the social media giant’s platform policies are being “abused by the day.”

“Need to know why Trump is not banned?” Brzezinski asked in the first of a series of tweets.

“I will be reaching out to head of twitter about their policies being violated every day by President Trump,” Brzezinski wrote in a subsequent tweet. “Hope my call is taken. Please retweet if you agree.”

[End]

Remember, Morning Mika’s father – Zbigniew Brzezinski – basically invented globalism during the Carter Administration, where he served as National Security Advisor. So, Morning Mika has been all verklempt since mid-2015, when Donald Trump announced his candidacy for the presidency. Now you know why Church Lady Joe is such a miserable human being.

Herr Gretchen is the perfect authoritarian thug. – Michigan’s Generalissimo Gretchen Whitmer just can’t get out of her own way. Over the past two months, she has repeatedly warned Michiganders against traveling to visit their lake homes and other vacation homes – indeed, she has attempted to even ban them from walking across the street to chat with a neighbor.

But being the authoritarian thug that she is, Herr Gretchen naturally assumes the traditional ‘do as I say, not as I do’ posture. Yesterday, as noted by Jim Hoft at GatewayPundit, one enterprising citizen caught her visiting her own vacation home even as she continues to advise the little people to stay at home:

CONFIRMED: Governor Whitmer Begs Michiganders Not to Travel to their Summer Home — Then Her Cars Are Seen Parked Outside of HER SUMMER HOME!

No wonder Creepy Uncle Quid Pro China Joe Biden is considering her to be his running mate. She’s the perfect Democrat authoritarian thug.

Give us yore attenshun, please, citizens! Tha raght honorabul Guvnah Ralph Nahthum of tha Commonwealth a’ Vahginyah has anothah eeeeedict ta make! – As states all over the nation now move into the 2nd and 3rd phases of highly successful reopening programs, Virginia Governor Ralph KKK Coonman Northam told reporters on Wednesday that he has “no particular timeline” in his tiny mind on a plan to start reopening his own state.

From a piece in the Daily Caller:

The Virginia governor delayed reopening parts of Northern Virginia last week after leaders in the area sent him a letter expressing concerns that their communities should not yet reopen. Northam said he is “following the data” as he prohibits Northern Virginia from reopening, according to the Washington Times.

“We haven’t set any particular timeline,” Northam said, the Times reported Wednesday. “We will continue to follow that daily. We will be in communication with those (local) leaders, and when they are comfortable, and when the data supports a movement into Phase 1, we will do so,” Northam said.
[End]

As we detailed last night, new data clearly demonstrates that there is no science-based or data-driven case to be made for continued lockdowns in states and big cities where Democrat politicians are still keeping them in place. That is being done for purely partisan political reasons alone.

How do you know Ralph Northam is lying? His lips are moving.

That is all.

Sunday News Roundup: Abrams Eclipse, Trump Fires IG and Crowded ‘Closed’ Beaches

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II

Today’s Washington Post contains a fawning, frankly disgusting profile of Georgia gubernatorial looooooser Stacy Abrams, in an obvious attempt to boost her chances of becoming Quid Pro China Joe’s eventual running mate. This is the photo the Post chose to use with the profile:

Image

It looks like she’s a one-woman solar eclipse.

Honestly, this ongoing media/Democrat effort to turn the quite un-accomplished Abrams into some sort of national super-woman is just bizarre. She’s never accomplished anything more than winning an election in an overwhelmingly Democrat district to be a state representative. Yet, she has become a sort of cult hero whose supporters appear to honestly believe she is the best the national Democrat Party has to offer.

You could never make this stuff up.

By tha ordah of Govnah Ralph KKK Blackface Coonman Northam of tha Commonwealth of Vahginyah, tha Vahginyah Beach Oceanfront was ahficially closed yestahday. This heah is what it looked lahk:

Warm weather draws crowds to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront on Saturday, May 16, 2020. Seen from the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier.

See any masks being worn there? No, not the KKK masks that Northam likes to wear – I’m talking about medical masks. See any social distancing going on? These are Americans, and they have had enough of Northam’s abuse based on Anthony Fauci’s nonsensical advisories.

Speaking of Americans, this was the scene in Orange County, CA on Saturday:

Additional California freedom rallies took place Saturday in San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Cool.

Meanwhile, this happened yesterday in Oregon:

Ms. Graham has been fined $14,000 by the Alinskyite radical, Gov. Kate Brown. Graham has filed an appeal, which she will ultimately win, but in the meantime, Gov. Brown and her jackbooted thugs can and probably will make her life a living hell.

Your Democrat Party at work.

In Michigan, the hairdressers continue to fight back against the edicts of Herr Gretchen:

Question: Why do Democrats hate hairdressers? It’s a national epidemic. Weird.

The ghouls at Bloomberg politics fantasize about President Trump testing positive for the Wuhan Virus:

It’s 1937 in Berlin…oh wait, no, it’s 2020 in Swampscott…

Tim Graham at Newsbusters.com has a great writeup on the corrupt news media’s continuing freakout over CBS’s Catherine Herridge and her habit of – gasp! – objectively reporting actual news. Here’s an excerpt:

An anonymous Democrat echoed the liberal media boilerplate:

“The problem we had with the Russia stuff and FISA stuff from day one was that people are getting two sets of news depending on what you watch,” one Democratic hill staffer said. “Some Dems were willing to live with that if it was limited to Fox News. But at CBS you are giving it the imprimatur of neutrality and that of a serious news organization.

Tani admits “Herridge has been careful to never cross the line into overt advocacy,” and quotes CBS officials praising her work. But it’s not hard to imagine that Herridge is finding herself to be the new version of Sharyl Attkisson, where many stories are sidelined to the internet because they’re too upsetting for liberals to grant the “imprimatur of neutrality.” It’s already happening:

[End]

As I pointed out yesterday, Herridge is obviously headed down the same path as previous great CBS reporters Sharyl Atkisson and Lara Logan, both of whom were booted off the network for their own distressing habit of upsetting anonymous Democrat staffers and their Democrat toady reporters for daring to objectively report real news. Herridge’s days at CBS are obviously numbered.

He made the same prediction in 2016. How’d that work out for him?

Good piece at The Daily Wire detailing the fact that it took 3 full weeks for Michigan’s congressional flake Justin Amash to figure out that he would have no chance to win if he became the Libertarian Party’s presidential nominee this go-round. Man, I could have told him that in about 3 seconds.

Finally, President Trump fired yet another corrupt inspector general yesterday, and the Democrats and their media toadies are freaking out about it. Here’s an excerpt from a Washington Times report:

President Trump on Friday announced he is firing the State Department’s inspector general — the latest of several people tasked with conducting oversight on various government agencies to be pushed out by Mr. Trump in recent weeks.

In a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Mr. Trump said he no longer had the “fullest confidence” in Inspector General Steve Linick, who has been in the position since 2013.

Amb. Stephen J. Akard, who was previously confirmed by the U.S. Senate as head of the State Department’s Office of Foreign Missions, is set to take Mr. Linick’s place.

Mr. Trump last month also removed former acting Defense Department Inspector General Glenn Fine from his post. Mr. Fine had also been tapped to lead a committee charged with overseeing trillions of dollars in federal coronavirus rescue spending.

Awesome.

The Motivations Behind the Fascist Democrat Governors and Mayors

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Today, we’re going to talk about what motivates these budding fascist mayors, county judges and governors, almost all of whom also happen to be Democrats. After all, they aren’t taking the actions they are taking against the unlucky people in their jurisdictions in a vacuum. These are all politicians, and politicians all have pressures that motivate them to act in certain ways.

To set this up, let’s first refer to a great piece over at RedState.com that was referred to me yesterday by a friend. The writer, Mike Ford, goes through many of the facts I’ve written about here regarding how Drs. Fauci, Birx and their disastrously wrong statistical model have basically run our country for the last 3 months, and destroyed our economy in the process. The results have been catastrophic, have essentially destroyed the greatest economy on the face of the earth, and none of it needed to happen.

Here is an excerpt from the summary section of that piece:

Basically, the governors and mayors with the encouragement of the federal government denied the civil rights of broad swaths of the American citizenry. They abridged the right to earn a living on the unproven chance that it might save a stranger’s life. What’s worse, it wasn’t like we demanded that all of America make this sacrifice. No. We actually forced the weakest (financially) among us to carry this load. Interestingly, I find anecdotally that the folks most interested in keeping this shutdown in place until we are “perfectly safe,” aren’t the hourly wage, service industry workers who have been forced to shoulder almost this entire burden. Nope. It’s the “essential workers,” people whose occupation allows telecommuting, the media, and, of course, folks on government salaries.

Mind you, none of the above was done via legislative action, which might have made it somewhat more palatable. It was all done via executive orders, big and small. As new data comes in, we are seeing that all of this had little-to-no effect on the spread of the virus nor the number of fatalities. We trampled on the Constitution, destroyed our economy, and wrecked the lives of millions of Americans…for nothing. And we aren’t done yet.

[End]

Now, let’s look at the chart below, which was published by England’s Office of National Statistics last week:

No photo description available.

The chart is easy to understand: It shows the average mortality rate per 100,000 by age group. It is the single most compelling piece of information I have seen anywhere about the Wuhan Virus. This chart and this chart alone proves the case Mr. Ford makes in his piece at RedState.

Put simply, this chart conclusively demonstrates that this virus is a disease that kills almost no one under the age of 55. Yes, young people do contract the virus and a handful have died from its effects. Those deaths of young people have of course been massively trumpeted by your corrupt news media as a means of supporting the Democrat goal of keeping the shutdown in place, but they have been few and far between.

This data clearly shows that the intelligent way to have gone about dealing with this virus would have been to ask older people to self-quarantine and to allow anyone under the age of 55 to keep living their lives and more rapidly building a national herd immunity to this plague that will ultimately come about anyway. Had everyone just taken the example of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, whose very first act was to start working to protect elderly folks inside his state’s nursing homes, a huge portion of these deaths would have been avoided.

Instead, our government told tens of millions of young Americans – the vast majority of them in the lower-middle to lower classes in terms of income – that their jobs and businesses were “non-essential” and forced them onto the government dole. And now we have this ruling class of banana republic governors, mayors and county judges doing everything they can, not to reopen their economies and put people back to work, but to extend the pain out for as long as they can get away with.

In my weekly radio appearance with host Gregg Budell on FM 93.1 WACV in Montgomery, AL yesterday, we talked about what it is exactly that motivates these Democrat politicians to act in this way. To understand that, you have to first understand how the Democrat political mind in the 21st century works, which I talked about in yesterday’s Campaign Update, “The Real Reason Why Pelosi Won’t Call the House Back Into Session.”

Here’s an excerpt from that piece:

But Democrats are different – make no mistake about it. They don’t care about people dying or 30 million Americans having been put out of jobs; all they care about is politics. After all, the Wuhan Virus is killing mainly old people, and old people happen to be mostly Republican voters. Democrats like Pelosi and Schumer see this and their only thought is that man, this could really tilt a few congressional races in November if enough old people die in the right districts.

Those 30 million additional unemployed? To your typical Democrat politician, their only thought is that that is one huge target-rich environment of potential Democrat voters. If they can just keep enough of those 30 million on unemployment until November it could be an electoral gold mine.

[End]

Once you understand that and accept it, then you need to look and identify who funds Democrat campaigns in this country today, and the voting constituencies that put them into office in the first place.

Who funds Democrats these days? That’s easy: Billionaires like George Soros, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and the rest of the very wealth, globalist class in this country; the radical environmentalist community; government workers; and labor unions, in that descending order. Make no mistake about it, the Democrat Party – not the GOP as the corrupt media still likes to claim – is the party of the very wealthy, globalist class in this country and their FEC filings clearly prove that fact. The radical environmentalists – the Party’s other major funder – are thrilled to death with all of this economic carnage, since it is what their Green New Deal would implement, anyway, and hey, our carbon footprint is so much lower! Seriously, do not doubt me on this.

So, we know who funds the campaigns; now, let’s look at a few examples of the constituencies these aspiring tinpot dictators are trying to please.

Virginia Governor Ralph “Coonman” Northam is a great and easy example here. Northam governs what is by and large a very rural state that has two major population centers that vote overwhelmingly Democrat: Richmond, and the Alexandria/Arlington metro area. Those rural areas of the state have been barely impacted by this Chinese plague, but they vote overwhelmingly Republican, and Northam couldn’t care less what the people in those counties need or think.

The capital city of Richmond, on the other hand, has two huge Democrat voter blocs: Government workers and folks who were already on the government dole before anyone had ever heard of the Wuhan Virus. The government workers are all still getting paid, so they’re happy to have this extended vacation as long as Gov. Coonman wants to give it to them. The folks who are used to living on the government dole haven’t really been impacted, so what do they care?

The Alexandria/Arlington area is now overrun with federal government workers thanks to the vast expansion of the federal workforce during the Obama years, and they have the same story: They’re all getting paid to “work from home,” which for many means sitting on their butts playing video games, so they’re all fat and happy like the state government workers in Richmond.

Thus, at the end of the day, Northam looks around and sees he still has his cash flow in place, and his voters are all perfectly happy sitting at home doing nothing, so there is no price to be paid for just extending these draconian orders out for as long as possible.

In Michigan, Generalissimo Gretchen Whitmer has much the same motivating factors in place: She’s just trying please her Party’s natural constituencies in cities like Detroit, Lansing and other metro centers.

In Oregon, Governor Kate Brown is just trying to please her natural constituencies that largely lie along the Interstate 5 corridor.

The exact same logic and formula applies in states like New York, New Jersey and California, and even in cities in Red states like Dallas and Houston in Texas, where Democrat County Judges Clay Jenkins and Lina Hidalgo have gone completely mad with power.

This really is the truth, folks. Decades of focusing on identity politics above all other considerations really has completely warped the Democrat mind in our country, and in fact makes that party the single biggest danger to the country’s ultimate survival.

They aren’t motivated by what is best for the country as a whole – that arcane subject never even enters their minds. They are motivated by two things and two things only: Money, and power, and how to obtain and maintain both.

And so, here we are.

That is all.

The Disturbing, Growing Rift Between Free States and Prison States

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

So, I’m sitting here on a Saturday morning contemplating the fact that our country is now at a point at which it has become normal for talking heads on TV and print commentators to talk about “free states” and “prison” or “lockdown states”. I did it myself in a piece the other day without even thinking about it.

At any other time in the last 150 years, this kind of discourse would have been shocking, but today it is part of the “new normal” that aspiring despots like Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer now talk about, echoing the kind of language Barack Obama used during his term to convince people to accept his own efforts to regulate every aspect of their daily lives.

It’s easy to tell which states are “free” or becoming more free, anyway, and which states are “prisons”: The Free States have Republican governors, and the Prison states, with a few exceptions like Ohio, are run by Democrats like Whitmer. This dichotomy between the governance by the two parties in this national emergency over a virus with a mortality rate well below 1% becomes increasingly stark with every passing week.

Friday, May 1 was a great example. In Texas, GOP Governor Greg Abbott moved to reopen a vast swath of businesses (with limited capacity restraints), state parks and the beaches along the Gulf Coast. On the very same day, Democrat California Governor Gavin Newsom moved to close all state parks and beaches. As a result, free Texans flocked to local shopping malls or to reopened restaurants to enjoy their first meal out in six weeks, while thousands of imprisoned Californians staged a massive protest in the city of Huntington Beach:

Think about the brutish stupidity of that beach closing order: Given that we now know that heat and sunlight kill this virus, what better place for Southern Californians to spend time than on the damn beach? But Governor Newsom, acting on his fascist impulses, shuts the beaches down because he was personally “disturbed” by video of people enjoying a day in the sun earlier in the week.

Americans all over the country have clearly shown that they are willing to cooperate with restrictions to their freedoms that make sense in fighting the spread of this virus. But irrational nonsense like this and Gov. Whitmer’s ban on motor boats has got to stop.

If these Democrat governors do not begin to relent soon, and stop treating the rural residents of their states as if they all live in densely-populated Manhattan, the peaceful protests we have witnessed all over the country in the past few weeks will begin to turn more aggressive, possibly even violent. This is not something I’m encouraging: It’s simply an inevitable outcome of dictatorial governors insisting on continuing to deny people their constitutional rights.

Make no mistake about this: Each and every one of the lockdown orders issued by Republican and Democrat governors alike are blatant violations of individual rights. These governors – and various mayors and other local officials – can only maintain these orders so long as they are able to maintain control over their law enforcement agencies to enforce them. Already, we see this level of control beginning to crack.

We saw it in Houston last week, when associations of both Houston police officers and Harris County sheriff’s deputies made it known they would not try to enforce an abusive order made by the idiot county judge there. We saw it in Orange County, CA on Friday, where the sheriff issued a statement informing the public he would not attempt to enforce Gov. Newsom’s beach closing order.

Because, you see, law enforcement officials read the constitution, too, and they promise to uphold it when they are sworn into office. Just because some governor or mayor doesn’t give a damn about individual freedoms does not mean the local police chief or sheriff or head of the state police agency feels the same way.

We know enough about this viral plague brought to us by China and have enough effective treatment regimes in place now to move away from the “flatten the curve” stage to a “protect the vulnerable and treat the sick” stage. Hell, if these governors would just focus on dealing effectively with the nursing homes in their states, that would take care of half the problem. In Texas, the median age of those who have died from this virus is over 80. Let that sink in.

Everyone who has been paying attention and is not just a brain-dead outrage monkey on Twitter can clearly see that the time for these statewide, one-size-fits-all lockdowns has passed. The situation now calls for the aspiring South American junta leaders like Whitmer, Newsom and Ralph KKK Northam to stand down and engage in more thoughtful and intelligent governance, and to stop the systematic violation of the rights of their citizens.

It’s time for there to be no justification or need for any talking head to use the terms “Free state” and “Prison state” anymore. We’re supposed to be the United States, and dichotomies in governance like the ones we see continuing to grow over this virus cannot persist for long before they threaten to become permanent.

How China Virus is Creating Political Flips and Flops

Guest Piece from America’s History Teacher, Larry Schweikart

As the fallout from the China Virus continues to spread—though the China Virus itself is largely contained now—the political ramifications are not raining down equally on all. As of this morning, Gallup has President Trump at over 49%—his highest ever in that poll—and Scott Rasmussen’s partnership poll also has him over 49%. IDB/TIPP has Trump now tied with the demented Joe Biden for the first time, with Biden slipping several points from just a month ago.

This is more than just Biden’s “woman trouble.” It represents a growing understanding by the American people that not just anyone can do the job of president, and that Biden is mentally incapacitated. While I don’t do polls, I’m guessing that Trump already has sailed past the lowest point he will see in 2020.

And I think the Democrats know it.

This has powerful implications for the state elections though. Those governors who have not locked down their states, particularly Kristi Noem of South Dakota, are being feted. The people of South Dakota actually threw a parade in their governor’s honor! Don’t expect that to occur in other red states, where some tyrannical or duped governors remain hostage to their doctors’ flawed charts and models. In Ohio, Mike DeWine—never a strong politician—has ceded almost all authority in his state to Amy Acton, the Department of Health Director.

Arizona’s Doug Ducey, coming off a 14-point win in 2018 (against an admittedly lame opponent) similarly is a prisoner of charts and graphs. Ducey’s actions—so far more than those of DeWine—seems to be sparking protests in the traditionally independent Arizona electorate. Protests are picking up steam, and Ducey was forced to threaten fines and jail time for any business that opened early. Ducey was a rising star who expected to move on to bigger things.

Not. Any. More.

On the other hand, some stars continue to shine. Besides Noem, Georgia’s Brian Kemp has likely cemented his position with Georgia re-opening; Ron DeSantis in Florida likewise is looking wise and fearless; and of course Greg Abbott in Texas, while not opening gyms or hair salons, nevertheless is moving in the right direction and refusing to use state coercive power to make people wear masks.

The flop governors will likely create a chasm in their states between themselves and those who support reopening, including President Trump. In Arizona, Martha McSally’s fate likely will rest on whether she forcefully comes out for reopening or (again) tries to play it safe and hide. Her comments on the Chicoms’ role in this have been encouraging so far.

Meanwhile, Democrat governors like “Comfortable” Ralph Northam may well have flipped Virginia in the 2020 election. Certainly much of the perpetually-paid beltway NOVA area will not mind a paid holiday, but the rest of the state may grow restless enough to vote for Trump in the fall. Prior to the China Virus, I thought such a flip was impossible.

If the Democrat governors maintain the lockdowns long enough, and if they become painful enough, it very well may move still other states to Trump in the fall. For every flop, there might be a flip.

GOP States vs. Democrat States: The Differences are Very Clear

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

With Texas Governor Greg Abbott now moving fairly aggressively to reopen Texas and its economy (the 10th largest on earth), the differences in approach between Republican governors and Democrat governors are now becoming increasingly stark.

Abbott now joins Republican governors like Brian Kemp in Georgia, Henry McMaster in South Carolina, Ron DeSantis in Florida, Kristi Noem in South Dakota and Kevin Stitt in Oklahoma in lending a sense of urgency to getting businesses reopened and people back to work, rescinding stay-at-home orders in the process. Noem, along with Republican governors in 6 other states (Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, Utah and Wyoming) in fact never even issued such an order for her state.

Unsurprisingly, not a single Democrat governor showed similar restraint. Democrats literally live for the chance to lord political power over common people, and the Wuhan Virus provided the best such opportunity most of them have ever had to do so. As New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy told Tucker Carlson with a smile on his face recently, he “wasn’t even thinking about the Bill of Rights” when he issued his own order, and there can be little doubt that most, if not all, other Democrat governors also never gave such arcane concepts as individual freedoms a second thought. Drs. Fauci and Birx had advised governors to use their judgment in ordering their people to stay at home, and by God, the judgment of every Democrat was to knee-jerk to such an order.

Today, as Republicans are now rescinding the orders they issued, here are the actions we have seen in recent days from Democrat governors around the country:

Virginia Governor Ralph KKK Coonman Northam – On April 15, he extended his order for the closure of “non-essential” businesses to May 8. On April 23, he extended his ban on “non-essential” surgeries for another week (there sure is a lot of “non-essential” stuff going on in Virginia, huh?). On March 31, he extended his stay-at-home order through June 10. Truly, this a man on a mission.

Michigan’s plastic-faced Strong-Woman Gretchen Whitmer – After earlier extending her stay-at-home order through May 15, announced on Monday that she wants the legislature to step in to further extend it for another 28 days. Whitmer claims to have the power to do this herself (power she has exercised, rightly or wrongly, already on several separate occasions) but after receiving pushback from members of both parties in the legislature, she is now looking for political cover.

California Governor Gavin Newsom – While Newsom has surprisingly performed fairly reasonably during this crisis – with notable exceptions, like getting burned when he purchased thousands of Chinese respirators that don’t work – it is important to note that his own stay-at-home order doesn’t even have a planned expiration date. In mid-April, he rolled out 6 requirements that must be met in order for him to begin rolling that order back. As of today, those requirements have not been met, and aren’t likely to be met anytime soon.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom WolfExtended his stay-at-home order through May 8.

New Jersey Governor Phil MurphyOn Monday announced that his own indefinite stay-at-home order would remain in place “until further notice.” At the same time, he outlined a gradual plan for reopening that hinges almost entirely on the current false media narrative about “more testing.” In other words, he’s really enjoying this exercise of authoritarian power and has no plans to give it up anytime soon.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo – What can you say about this guy? His feckless lack of leadership and preparation have been largely responsible for this outbreak across the United States, and the media-directed national panic that led to so many needless draconian restrictions across the country, as governors of both parties failed to realize that their states were not like New York, not at all. Cuomo still, to this day, has not shut down the petri dishes on rails that are New York City’s subway cars. To. This. DAY. He got caught short on ventilators because, in 2015, he made the decision to forego buying 15,000 of them at bargain prices, spending the money instead on nebulous “climate change” nonsense. He has utterly and completely failed to protect senior citizens living in the state’s nursing homes, which have been the centers for a huge portion of New York’s massive COVID-19 death toll.

Naturally, Cuomo’s performance in this pandemic has made him a folk hero to the corrupt news media and most Democrat voters, and he is a virtual shoe-in to be re-elected to an unprecedented fourth term in office this November, 2022.

Holy crap.

It’s hard to be optimistic about America’s future when voters keep electing and re-electing Democrats to positions of power. Granted, Republicans aren’t a hell of a lot better, but as we have seen during this epidemic given to us by the ChiComs, they at least exhibit some level of respect for the rights of their citizens, and observe the need to take those into consideration while also taking actions necessary to protect the public.

Where the respective governors of each party are concerned, the contrasts in approach are in fact very stark and unambiguous.

Keep that in mind when you cast your votes in November.

Warning: Wednesday Saw a Major Shift in Shut-Down Messaging

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Fair warning: There will be no v-shaped recovery for the U.S. economy. That is the only conclusion that can be drawn from the narrative that was rolled out at Wednesday evening’s press conference at the White House.

If we are lucky, there will be a u-shaped recovery, but the horizontal part of that u just keeps getting longer if President Trump and the nation’s governors continue to allow the government to be run based on NIH and CDC opinions and statistical models that have proven to be disastrously wrong every step of the way. Last night at the White House, it was obvious that these medical professionals and their models continue to hold absolute sway over the President’s policy agenda.

This is a President who barely a week ago was raring to get this economy back up and running, promising that it would be quick and that economic growth would return in no time. In press conferences throughout the first two weeks of this month, he appeared to be signaling to governors – especially Republicans – that the time had come for them to proceed as quickly as they deemed to be safe to get businesses in their states open again.

Last night, President Trump took great pains to call out Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, a Republican, for moving too fast. He literally threw the guy under the bus of the federal government, and that’s a very large and powerful bus.

Careful observers who have taken the time necessary to gain an understanding of how he communicates – which would, of course, exclude each and every corrupt member of the White House press corps – know that he very rarely says anything without an intended purpose behind it. The obvious purpose behind his going out of his way to slam Governor Kemp last night was to send a signal to other governors to slow down. And you can be sure that timid governors like Greg Abbott in Texas, who set up a “strike force” consisting of no fewer than 13 committees and subcommittees in order to cover his butt politically, will only be too happy to oblige.

The other sudden shift in messaging that took place last night was the dominant message about the absolute certainty of another outbreak of this gift from the communist Chinese government coming this fall. That came not just from Drs. Fauci and Birx, but also from CDC Director Robert Redfield. This topic in fact dominated the first half hour of the briefing. That was not an accident.

The implications of this are ominous, to say the least, since this new narrative now provides power-grabbing governors like Gretchen Whitmer (MI), Phil Murphy (NJ), Ralph KKK Northam (VA) and others with more justification to crack down on their respective populations even further, and to keep their edicts in place at least through the end of 2020. You should expect them and other governors now move to crack down on demonstrators who continue to exercise their constitutional rights of peaceful assembly and free speech.

All of this over a virus whose mortality rate may be lower than the common, seasonal flu according to the most current data.

Amazing.

It’s amazing how easily and timidly we have allowed our freedoms to slip away. Churches and synagogues remain closed all across the country. How many of them will be able to survive, given that they all are in fact business operations that have bills to pay.

Schools remain closed at least until September and maybe longer than that, even though we know that this bug poses a real risk to almost no one under the age of 30 or so. Even if we allow them to reopen in June, half of this country’s restaurants are going to disappear, along with their thousands of jobs. The list of the economic carnage deriving from this doctor-led government decision making goes on and on and on.

Now, take a look at this:

Regardless of how many “stimulus” bills congress passes, they cannot prevent the absolute carnage that is inevitable in our economy unless we move quickly to restart it. And the truth that no one in government is telling you right now is that they can only continue to try to mask the economic carnage with these debt-funded bills for maybe another month or two. After that, you and your cities and states are going to be on your own. Food lines like this are going to be coming to your city soon, if they haven’t already appeared.

Check this out:

And this:

These are just samples of the tools various levels of government know they will have to begin using in earnest to control your behavior once the economic devastation can no longer be masked. If that doesn’t scare the hell out of you, what will? What’s it gonna take?

By the way, I wear a mask every time I go anywhere, which these days is pretty much limited to the grocery store. I recommend everyone else do the same. I do that because it seems to make good common sense, and I will again remind you all that barely 2 weeks ago, the Democrats and corrupt media toadies were screaming that the very same masks that they are mandating today were not effective in preventing the spread of this Wuhan Virus.

We lose ~40,000 Americans every year to car accidents, and it would be a great idea if everyone wore helmets and kevlar vests every time we get into a car. But I don’t see the government mandating anyone do that because the economic costs would be too high. So all those lives continue to be lost each year and nobody blinks.

Or hey, it would be much safer and “save lives” if everyone just quit driving. But the government doesn’t mandate that because of the economic carnage that would cause.

Oh. But what about that “it’s worth it if it saves just one life” talking point we keep hearing? Why doesn’t that apply here? Think about it.

We lose ~40-60,000 people a year to the seasonal flu, mainly because those nifty vaccines Fauci and Bill Gates keep touting don’t work. But nobody at the NIH or the CDC says we should mandate wearing masks to prevent those deaths from happening. So all those lives continue to be lost each year and nobody blinks.

Again, isn’t it worth it if it saves just one life? Guess not.

How many kids die or are severely injured on trampolines each year? But they keep dying and nobody blinks. This could go on and on.

We have a choice in our society: We can either learn to live with this virus and focus on treating the ill, as we have learned to live with and treat the seasonal flu, or we can see our economy and thus our society collapse. That is our choice as a people, and at the moment it appears that those in favor of bringing about societal collapse are carrying the day, all the way up to the White House.

Amazing.

That is all.

With Perfect Timing, Trump Signals That it is Time to Be America Again

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

This is how the loss of our liberties begins. – It begins not with the clatter of gunfire but with 300 million citizens timidly holed up in their homes watching TV 18 hours a day, hoping for permission from some unelected bureaucrats at the NIH and the CDC to go to the grocery store or maybe to see a doctor  to check out that disturbing mole on our back after putting it off for two months .

It begins not with tanks rolling into downtown Lansing, but with the power-mad Michigan Governor with the plastic face ordering you to keep your motor boat in the dock but giving you permission to use your kayak.

Ahoy, comrades!

It begins not with the sudden appearance of an armada of Chinese or Russian ships off the coasts of Santa Barbara and Charleston, but with the feckless Governor of New Jersey flippantly telling Tucker Carlson that he “wasn’t thinking about the Bill of Rights” when he made the decision to revoke the rights of every citizen of New Jersey to go to church, to peaceably assemble, and to even breathe the air in public parks.

He wasn’t thinking about the Bill of Rights?!? Just what in the hell does he think his job actually entails? Just for grins, I looked up the oath of office that must be recited by every newly-elected New Jersey governor. It reads as follows:

“I, , elected governor of the state of New Jersey, do solemnly promise and swear that I will diligently, faithfully and to the best of my knowledge, execute the said office in conformity with the powers delegated to me; and that I will to the utmost of my skill and ability, promote the peace and prosperity and maintain the lawful rights of the said state. So help me God.”

Exactly where does the New Jersey Governor think those “lawful rights of the said state” derive from? He apparently has not the slightest clue. He just issued the orders he issued because he decided he had the power to do it, and as long as he has the consent of law enforcement and of the governed people of his state, he apparently does, regardless of what the Bill of Rights might say.

It is interesting that we are now seeing various governors – most of them Democrats like those mentioned above – now forming up what they are calling “blue ribbon panels” to advise them about how to go about reopening the schools, churches and businesses in their states. I find it even more interesting that not a single one of these governors, Republican or Democrat, felt the need to assemble any similar panels in February and March to advise them on how to close those things down – and order people shut into their homes – in ways that might to some extent avoid trampling on the constitutional rights of their citizens.

Whether you agree or disagree with the tactics the state and federal governments have employed to combat the spread of this China-induced global plague, the utter lack of consideration of the basic, fundamental rights of the citizens that has been on display for the last two months has to be incredibly disturbing to you. Perhaps even more disturbing has been the manner in which 99% of the American public has so timidly accepted these draconian intrusions and deprivations with hardly a peep of protest.

I’ve never been much of a fan of street protests, but I have to admit I was actually gratified to see all those thousands of Michiganders exercising their rights to peaceably assemble in Lansing on Wednesday, gridlocking the downtown area around the state capitol in their cars while also observing the plastic-faced Governor’s social distancing edicts. The message they sent was ideal: Look, we’re willing to help you fight this virus, but your stupidity and thuggery needs to end, or you will soon lose the consent of the governed.

We see similar pockets of rising discontent now popping up in other states – like Virginia – whose governors have also gone overboard with their lusts to impose their will on the people. Virginia Gov. KKK Blackface Baby-Killer Northam thinks he can keep his citizens shut-in through mid-summer now. I suspect he will have another think coming pretty soon if he does not begin to relent.

All of which means that President Donald Trump’s timing in rolling out his Plan for Opening Up America Again on Thursday was just right. He has given the unelected bureaucrats their six weeks of shutting America down to try to “flatten the curve,” but is now signaling that that’s all the time they’re going to get, and it is now time to start systematically putting America back to work. It’s time to begin to reopen our restaurants and our theaters and our public parks again. It’s time to start getting our kids back into schools, to play some baseball and to fill our churches, cathedrals and synagogues again.

It isn’t just time to open America up again: It’s time to be America again.

Let’s roll.

That is all.

What is it With Democrats and Their Masks?

The Evening Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Works Overtime)

What is it about Democrats and masks? – Given that they literally created and funded the domestic terrorist group Antifa, you would think these people would be experts on wearing masks in public. But you would be wrong in thinking that.

Take a look at Houston Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee:

I mean, c’mon, she doesn’t have an abused staffer who has enough guts to risk being slapped, fired or screamed at by informing her that the mask only works if it covers both your mouth and nose?

Obviously not.

Then, there’s Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who went out of his way to inform the entirety of the corrupt news media that he would be wearing a mask when in public:

Again, dude, it doesn’t work that way. None of this works the way you think it does.

Then there was this fiasco yesterday from Virginia Governor Ralph KKK Blackface Northam:

Image may contain: one or more people, possible text that says 'WASHINGTON NBCWashington @nbcwashington In a striking moment, Gov. Ralph Northam put on his own black face mask. He urged every Virginian to do the same nbc4dc.com/Ynd1T74'

Hey, at least he stayed within his personal tradition – if you can’t wear blackface, a black mask is a decent substitute for any overt racist Democrat governor.

Then there’s this dude – he isn’t wearing a “mask” per se, but he is most definitely a loyal Democrat voter:

Here’s a group of Democrats in front of the U.S. Capitol Building bearing a statue of their favorite masked idol:

They are what the corrupt media invariably refers to as “peaceful demonstrators.” Because, of course they are.

If this mask-wearing guy lived in America he’d definitely be a Democrat:

Richmond Rally Ends Without Incident: News Media Hardest Hit

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Tired of all this WINNING yet? – Every major U.S. stock index attained yet another record-high closing level on Monday. This has been happening so often lately that I almost forgot to mention it this morning. But I’m not tired of it – I’ll never get tired of all this WINNING for America. Thank you, President Donald Trump (I still never tire of typing those three glorious words).

This was not the preferred media/Democrat narrative at all. – The corrupt news media, working in concert with Governor Ralph Northam and his fellow Democrats, spent two solid weeks attempting to foment division in advance of yesterday’s pro-2nd Amendment rally on the Capital Grounds in Richmond, Virginia. Northam declared a completely unnecessary state of emergency around the rally last week and put up chain link fences around a large area in front of the Capital Building in order to keep rally-goers caged in.

Corrupt Democrat toadies at CNN and MSNBC made all manner of inflammatory statements over the past week about the rally attendees, portraying them all as ultra-violent “white supremacists” who were traveling to Richmond to shoot the place up in protest of the Democrats’ efforts to enact gun confiscation laws. CNN, of course, literally lives to foment division and violence in America, because it helps the failing cable channel’s disastrous ratings outside of its captive audience in our nation’s airports.

Governor KKK Northam and his fellow gun-grabbing Democrats desperately wanted to see violence break out at the rally because they believed such a spectacle would help convince the public of the wisdom behind their looming gun grab. Thankfully, these despicable ghouls all came away crestfallen.

In the end, an anticipated crowd of 12,000 swelled to what looked to be well over 30,000 participants who came from all parts of the Virginia Commonwealth and beyond to demonstrate their support for the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, an amendment the Democrat party, given the power, would do away with in a heartbeat. There were no Nazi swastikas seen on clothing, no Confederate flags flying, no racist slogans being shouted, nobody giving the “ok” sign that the media has now declared to be a gesture of “white supremacy,” no fights, no scuffles, no violence.

Hell, the attendees even stuck around after the rally was over to clean up after themselves, something you will never see happening after a Women’s March or other leftist event:

Just thousands of Americans demonstrating their support for the literal foundation of the American republic. The corrupt reporters and camera people present at the rally couldn’t even stage a fake fight – as CNN has so often been caught doing – because thousands of the rally attendees were live-streaming the event on social media using their cellular phones.

The ghoulish Democrat activists at CNN and MSNBC, lacking any film of people fighting and bleeding – which is always a feature at rallies featuring Antifa or other leftist groups – were at a loss for an alternative narrative. So, they turned yet again to projecting violence they hope will take place in the future, once the Democrats in Richmond get their gun-grab bills passed:

Again, the ghouls at MSNBC and CNN are actively hoping for that outcome. Which is why you will never see Chris Hayes or any other on-air “talent” at either channel questioning the wisdom of the Democrats’ approach to the issue.

For his part, a deflated Gov. Northam issued a statement saying, “We are all thankful that today passed without incident. The teams successfully de-escalated what could have been a volatile situation. This resulted from weeks of planning and extensive cooperation among state, local, and federal partners in Virginia and beyond.”

Of course, there was nothing to “de-escalate,” other than the pre-rally rhetoric coming from the Governor himself and his media toadies.

A pox on all their houses.

God bless the people of Virginia – they deserve the support of all thinking Americans in their battle against the Democrats’ unconstitutional gun grab.

That is all.

Reader Insights Into Looming Situation in Richmond, VA

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

In response to this morning’s Campaign Update regarding the situation developing this weekend in Richmond, Virginia, several  readers have weighed in with some supplemental information.

First is from a reader who calls himself Va. Gent, a longtime Richmond resident who has eyes on the scene:

As a 50+ year resident of Richmond with family ties back to the 1840’s, allow me to give you a boots-on-the-ground appraisal of the situation for Lobby Day as I see it currently:

  • VCDL [Virginia Civil Defense League] is asking all participants who plan to enter the fenceline surrounding the Capital to NOT carry or wear provocative clothing or signage.
  • VCDL is also advising those with valid conceal carry to post themselves on the perimeter of the fenceline just in case.
  • Word is that ANTIFA plans to march alongside the 2A supporters, as they supposedly don’t agree with the Gov’t intervention. (Jury still out on that one….)
  • Security is ironclad, and the geography of the area around the Capital is all hillsides and narrow streets, with the fortification that is the RIC Federal Reserve building within sight of the Capital grounds.
  • Street closings and predetermined off-site parking/staging areas will be in place, basically negating any vehicular traffic for many blocks surrounding the Capital.
  • Plenty of high-rise buildings in the area will allow for LEO eyes and long guns to train on the crowds. I feel that local LEO’s are on the side of 2A supporters, but only time will tell.
  • Guv Blackface pulled SB16 late this week, which was the most draconian of the bunch, that would have banned all assault rifles, 10+ round mags, etc. Public pushback is completely responsible for this outcome!

To summarize, it looks like the chances of a Charlottesville-style affair are low, but agree that the leftists in the media are spinning this as a white supremacist-fueled protest, as local news has been trumpeting the arrest of 3 out-of-staters caught in Maryland with guns, ammo and “neo-nazi ties”. Convenient thing, that.

At first I planned to attend, but decided to sit this one out and keep my old butt available in the event that a larger conflict breaks out as a result of this or the rest of the General Assembly’s malarkey.

Love the site and your work, David! Keep doing what you’re doing, it is indeed appreciated out here in the Old Dominion, where your collective well-wishes and prayers are sorely needed.

Regular reader and contributor Gregg Updike chimes in with a strong point about the migration of the D.C.-base bureaucracy into Northern Virginia during this century:

[George W.] Bush the second also larded up Northern Virginia (NORVA) with Dem voting bureaucrats when he created his two new cabinet level departments: Homeland Security and Intelligence.

I’m hoping the real American rally goers act like the TEA Party did in the Den of Corruption (DC) during the Obamacare Rally ten years ago where they left the National Mall cleaner than when they got there with no violence. If there is violence, VA may well become a real battleground state and I only hope PDJT has the intelligence sources and the plan to mobilize his assets to counter Northam’s schemes.

Another regular of our comments section, who calls himself Jimmy MacAfee (I don’t know whether that is his real name or not) is a resident of Lynchburg, VA, a city whose council rejected a motion to become one of the state’s 100-plus 2nd Amendment Sanctuaries. Jimmy provides insight on what took place there:

As for Sanctuary Cities: one councilman, Attorney Randy Nelson of Lynchburg, substituted his own reasoning for opposing the measure; he thinks he’s smarter than all the other councils and boards and their lawyers across Virginia who voted with their citizen’s interests in mind and became resisters of government-sponsored tyranny.

Here’s the thing: if we’re a Democracy, the Lynchburg City Council failed, because most Lynchburgers support the measure; if we’re a Republic, the Council likewise failed, because they failed to represent the will of the people who elected them. It is an embarrassment and humiliation that our name is not on the list of Sanctuary cities, and even the Sheriff spoke at the meeting and stated that he would uphold the Constitution.

The Deep State is flailing, but it still can do a tremendous amount of damage. Stay awake.

Jimmy, who is never one to mince words or hide what he is thinking, also provides a very entertaining assessment of what he thinks about Governor Northam:

Here’s what should happen to Governor Northam if he causes a civil conflict in Virginia:

He should have his name removed in and from any references to VMI.
He should be symbolically removed – drummed out – with a goat taking his place at the ceremony.
He should be removed from office by a recall vote by the citizens of Virginia.
He should be tried for sedition or fomenting rebellion, should his actions facilitate violence in Richmond and elsewhere.

This is an apparently mentally unstable governor, because his attempt to legalize post-birth abortion seems to be a sign of a very sick and demented mind – not to mention the blackface/Klan episode(s) from his past.  He only appears normal, and then not always. He is a tyrannical, unreasonable, unreasoning monster, and if red flag laws are enforced, should lose his right to bear arms.

It was a Virginian (born in South Carolina in 1861) who bragged about teaching Hitler to sterilize the “unfit,” and he was a medical doctor as well: Walter Ashby Plecker, the first director of the Bureau of Vital Statistics, who also statistically eliminated the American Indian from Virginia. He was a Eugenicist unfit for medical duty, and a Virginian who was unfit to hold any office.

The resemblances are not dissimilar, considering Northam’s racist attitudes when he was in college and his support for Eugenics-like procedures and activities.

Ralph Northam’s Despicable Effort to Create Another Charlottesville

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

WINNING. Sooooooo much WINNING. – Here’s what is funny about this: I’ve actually had complaints this week that I’ve been focusing too much on all the WINNING President Trump is bringing to our country. So, some people who claim to be fans of President Trump actually are getting tired of all this WINNING. Once again, Trump was right when he said “We will WIN so much, you’ll get tired of all the WINNING.”  You can’t make this stuff up.

One more time, every major U.S. stock market index closed at record high levels as investors express their enthusiasm over the President’s Phase I Trade Agreement with China and congress’s final passage of the USMCA. Despite all the false criticism emanating from the corrupt national news media, the markets understand how these trade deals with America’s three largest trading partners will positively impact this country’s economy for years to come.

So, suck it, all you fake, corrupt journalists and contributors at CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times and the Washington Post. Your efforts, in concert with the Democrat Party, to talk this country into an economic recession that began last summer have, like everything else you have tried to harm this President and what he is accomplishing for America, miserably failed. That could not possibly happen to a nicer bunch of evil minions.

Meanwhile, out in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Governor Baby Killer Blackface KKK Ralph Northam thinks creating a mere recession is just small potatoes. – Northam, along with this Democrat majority in the state assembly, is apparently intent on planting the seeds for a second civil war. That appears to be the only rational interpretation of the moves and public statements Governor Northam and fellow Virginia Democrats have been making in recent weeks.

As the Democrats in the assembly advance a series of gun control bills , assembly members and  Northam himself have promised they will result in law enforcement going door to door if necessary to confiscate certain kinds of guns from ordinary citizens. Gun rights groups have very predictably responded by organizing a massive rally in support of the 2nd Amendment to take place in the state capital of Richmond this weekend. The rally will be held Monday as a part of the Virginia Civil Defense League’s (VCDL) annual lobby day.

Governor Northam has reacted harshly – again, very predictably – to the rally, declaring a state of emergency based on only the vaguest of pretenses.

Here’s the text of his declaration:

Credible intelligence gathered by Virginia’s law enforcement agencies indicates that tens of thousands of advocates plan to converge on Capitol Square for events culminating on January 20, 2020. Available information suggests that a substantial number of these demonstrators are expected to come from outside the Commonwealth, may be armed, and have as their purpose not peaceful assembly but violence, rioting, and insurrection.”

Have you ever seen so many weasel words crammed into just two sentences?

“Credible intelligence” and “available information” you say? What in the hell does that even mean? And “plan to converge on Capitol Square”? How did you know that? Why, could it be because the VCDL properly applied for a lawful permit to use that public space? You know, like a group of good, law-abiding American citizens, i.e., not Antifa, might do?

And what is a “substantial number” in your mind, Governor? Is it 1,000? 100? 10?

Democrats like Northam never complain when people come from out of state to join in liberal protest marches, or hell, even to vote illegally in their elections. Just so long as they vote Democrat, right? Right.

Clearly, Governor Blackface and his friends in the corrupt news media are attempting to set the narrative for Sunday’s rally as being the sequel to the 2017 Charlottesville fiasco, when a couple of dozen bad actors provided the pretense for the media to smear thousands attending an otherwise peaceful rally as being “white supremacists.” This is how every rally-goer on Sunday will also be portrayed if the media can find one clown wearing a confederate flag patch on his jacket or forming his fingers into what used to be the “ok” sign. So, expect that to happen.

Regardless of what really takes place in Richmond this weekend, Governor KKK will without any question at all attempt to spin it as a rationale to continue pushing for his gun control/confiscation legislation. But he and his fellow Democrats have a real, sticky problem in seeing this effort through to its logical conclusion.

That problem centers on the reality that Virginia is a mostly-rural state. Once you get out of the isolated population centers of Richmond, Arlington and Alexandria, the rest of Virginia is as red as red can be. The state’s 2016 election map looks like a miniature microcosm of the national map, with small islands of blue interspersed amidst a sea of red:

Trump Scrambles Open Race for Virginia Governor

Prior to 2009, Virginia actually was a fairly reliable state for Republicans. But that has all changed with eight years of America’s Biggest Mistake, Barack Obama, and the massive expansion of the D.C.-based federal bureaucracy he inflicted on the nation. Even with Obama’s rapid raising of federal salaries, real estate in the District of Columbia remained too expensive for most bureaucrats, so tens of thousands of them settled across the Potomac in Arlington and Alexandria.

Given that well over 90% of federal bureaucrats are Democrats by nature, that massive emigration of the bureaucracy into Virginia ended up shifting the state’s politics.

Very predictably, those red, rural counties have taken exception to the Democrats’ looming gun grab. At last count, 105 counties and cities in Virginia have now taken the step of declaring themselves second amendment sanctuaries, with local officials promising to defy any efforts by the state government to confiscate firearms within their jurisdictions.

Should Governor Northam and his Democrat minions end up enacting these gun control bills and follow them through to their logical conclusion, many Virginia gun owners will not go quietly, and the country could find itself in a real constitutional crisis. Unless the Democrats begin to moderate what they are doing, they might be sowing the seeds for a second civil war in this country.

Sadly, Governor Northam seems by his actions and words to be perfectly fine with, and maybe even intent on, doing exactly that.

That is all.

Meet Your Chief Justice: John Anthony Kennedy David Souter Roberts

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Man, that global warming is wreaking havoc in California. Oh, wait… – Scientists have been recording daily temperatures in Los Angeles for 132 years.  In all that time, they have never recorded a month of February during which the mercury did not top 70 degrees Fahrenheit on at least one day.

But then 2019 came along, and the temperature in LA remained below the 70 degree level for the entire 28 days.  Can there be any doubt that the “scientists” at NOAA who have spent the last decade defrauding the historic global temperature records in order to make the modern era appear to be warming will soon issue a report claiming this February to be the “warmest on record”?

I give it maybe 30 days before that happens. The Climate Scam never ends.

Today’s Public Service Announcement: Just so no one forgets: Ralph KKK Baby-Killer Blackface Coonman Northam is still Governor of Virginia, one full month after his college photo was revealed for all to see. Thanks, Democrats!

Chief Justice John Anthony Kennedy David Souter Roberts strikes again. – In case you missed it, our squish Chief Justice made more moves this week to side with the liberal minority on the Supreme court:

“Roberts joined the liberals Wednesday in two rulings that left the conservatives in dissent. Most notably, he cast the deciding vote to order a new look at the mental competence of a death row inmate who says he can’t remember the crimes he committed.

The votes add to an unmistakable pattern, offering fresh indications that Roberts is in no hurry to oversee a conservative legal revolution. The chief justice has also joined 5-4 orders that blocked President Donald Trump from curbing bids for asylum at the Mexican border and stopped Louisiana from enforcing new abortion restrictions.”

Here’s my favorite part of that Bloomberg article:

“’Chief Justice Roberts’s voting pattern this year reflects a change,’ said Josh Blackman, a professor at the South Texas College of Law in Houston.”

You don’t sayyyyyy…

In reality, Roberts’ voting pattern simply reflects the pattern at-large for half of the Supreme Court justices appointed by Republican presidents going back to the great Ronald Reagan. Reagan gave us Sandra Day O’Connor and Anthony Kennedy, sandwiched around great justices in William Rehnquist and Antonin Scalia; Poppy Bush gave us the execrable closet leftist David Souter before redeeming himself with the stalwart Clarence Thomas; George W. Bush first served up Justice Roberts before trying to go even lower with the laughable nomination of Harriett Myers – who the Senate properly rejected – and then made a big comeback with the nomination of Samuel Alito.

So when you look at that history, the reality is that the three GOP presidents before Donald J. Trump batted .500 when it comes to putting strict constructionist judges onto the Supreme Court. Even Ronaldus Magnus had a hard time getting it all right, although in his defense he did first nominate Robert Bork before serving up Kennedy, after Bork was shamefully slandered by Senate Democrats.

Roberts gave us a preview of things to come nine years ago with his horrific “that fee is a tax except when I want to call it a fee for the purposes of this laughably twisted and illogical decision” Obamacare ruling. But he seems to have waited for Kennedy to be replaced by a real conservative justice before making his move to go all-in to become the squish vote on the Court.

After this week, there can be no doubt that that is exactly where his real comfort zone is, which only makes the 2020 election that much more critical for the future of our country.

President Trump needs at least one more appointment.

That is all.

The Twitter Week In Review: Racist Dems, Green Frauds, State of the Union

The Twitter Week in Review
(Because The Campaign Never Ends On Twitter, Either)

[Here’s a review of the week just past taken directly from the @GDBlackmon Twitter feed. If this gets a good response, we might just make it a weekly feature.  Enjoy.]

It all started with a really tedious football game. Unfortunately, things only went downhill from there…

Sean Davis sums up the fake news media double standard on reporting sexual abuse scandals…

When you’re running for president and nobody notices…

But…but…but the fake news media and their Democrat masters assure me this is not an “emergency”…

In case you missed it because your fake news media buried the story…

Speaking of #fakenews, didja know that Columbus caused Climate Change?  *sigh*…

That time Democrats wouldn’t support a law banning the killing of live-born babies…

Wise lawyer advice: Never ask a question you don’t know the answer to in advance. Nobody informed Senator Spartacus Jazz Hands…

James Woods knocks another one right out of the park…

Brit Hume is worth following on Twitter as well…

Why yes, yes she is lacking in the most basic common sense…

Democrat hypocrisy, part 8,888…

And we’re just now getting to the State of the Union on Tuesday – what a week!

ICYMI, I live-streamed the State of the Union, and all the critics agreed it was epic…

Also, this happened, and Lieawatha had no good answer for it…

If @AOC has her way, the nation’s schools will soon be filled with girls with nicked-up legs from using those “safety” razors…

Trump just keeps waving that darn magic wand!

If you don’t follow Mollie Hemingway on Twitter, you’re doing Twitter all wrong…

I’m very tired of climate alarmism – can you tell?

This was also a thing…

Then that whole “Green New Deal” thing got dropped, and hilarity and embarrassment quickly ensued…

They told her to wear glasses because they’d make her look smarter.  They were wrong…

Hey, where are the unicorns?

San Fran Nan tried to change the subject…

…but it didn’t work…

Oh.

But hey, they fixed it!

Goebbels would have been so darn proud of this bunch…

And finally, the end came for the most embarrassing talking points document ever created by a federal officeholder..

But enough about that – let’s end this weekly review with an elected Democrat hilariously lying about socialism (which, come to think of it, is what the Green New Deal is all about, too)…

That is all.

Democrats/Media: Believe the Women!!! uh, unless they’re accusing a Democrat…

The Evening Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Your Democrat Party in action!: – Can the situation with the Virginia Democrat Party possibly get any worse?  Well, yeah, sure it could. After all, every one of these people went to high school, the potential for more embarrassing photographs to surface are as numerous as the number of elected Democrat officials multiplied by at least 4, by 8 if they received an undergrad degree, and by up to 12 for those who went to grad school. My goodness.

In a state where it was apparently customary for white kids to be made up in black face or wear KKK robes for school photos, the possibilities are almost endless. The latest to be found out is Attorney General Mark Herring, who admitted today that, like Gov. Ralph Northam, he got all dressed up in black face at the age of 19 so he could impersonate a rap artist in some talent show or something. Herring only made this admission because he became aware that a photo of his “talent” had been discovered in one of his school annuals and was about to be released to the public.

Ironically, Herring was among the first Democrat public officials to call for Northam to step down from his office last Friday, when Northam’s own college-yearbook foray into putting shoe polish in his face was made public. It’s not exactly a case of the proverbial “pot” calling the “kettle” black, but it’s pretty comparable.

But things got even more ridiculous for the Virginia Dems later in the day as their African American Lt. Governor, Justin Fairfax, was credibly accused of having committed sexual assault some 15 years ago. The accuser, Dr. Vanessa E. Tyson, released a statement to the press describing in detail an incredibly ugly attack she claims Farifax committed on her person when both were working at the Democrat National Convention in Boston:

“With tremendous anguish, I am now sharing this information about my experience and setting the record straight. It has been extremely difficult to relive that traumatic experience from 2004. Mr. Fairfax has tried to brand me as a liar to a national audience, in service to his political ambitions, and has threatened litigation. Given his false assertions, I’m compelled to make clear what happened,” she said in a statement.

I won’t go into the ugly details of the accusation here, other than to say Dr. Tyson’s claim is that Fairfax forced her to perform oral sex on him. The Fox News story linked above contains a link to the full statement.

Very predictably, the reaction from all the Democrat scumbags who spent weeks helping the fake news media and a procession of non-credible accusers smear Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh with the mantra “all women deserve to be believed!!!!!” has been…silence. See, you’re only supposed to “believe the women!!!!!!!” when their accusations are leveled against non-Democrats.

Meanwhile, no one should come into contact with this story without learning of the FACT that the news fakers at the Washington Post had this story a full year ago – directly from Dr. Tyson, who proactively contacted a reporter she knew at the fake newspaper – and chose to sit on it because, you know, uh, well, because Fairfax is a, um, well he’s a Democrat, after all.

It is also extremely important to keep in mind that the Washington Post was among the most guilty of perpetuating the false accusations against Kavanaugh, and all the while was doing everything it could to keep Dr. Tyson’s accusation against Fairfax away from the public.

Is it any wonder – any wonder at all – why so many millions of Americans hate our fake news media and consider fake news outlets like the WaPo to be their enemy?

No, no wonder at all.

That is all.

8 Bits of Intrigue to Look for in Tonight’s State of the Union Event

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Hey, that whole “climate change” scam isn’t working for us, so here’s an idea – let’s use new talking points! –  The grand global climate scam has been running out of steam over the last two years since Donald Trump assumed the presidency and more and more Americans wake up to the reality that they have been heinously deceived by the Al Gores and Leonardo DiCaprios of the world.

So what are the scammers to do? After three solid decades of seeing them simply ramp up the shrillness of their alarmist rhetoric every time their movement began to lose momentum, the alarmists who now run the American Meteorological Society have decided to take a new tack: Tone things down and and become less shrill and more subtle with their brainwashing instead.

Don’t misunderstand – it will be the same old stuff, with every tropical storm described as being completely unprecedented, with every wildfire declared to be a sign of “permanent drought”, giving scary names to every significant cold front and with every thunderstorm pronounced to be the “strongest on record.” But they’ll be calmer about it all, and the plan is to stop blaming your SUV for everything – because pretty much nobody is buying that anyway – and begin instead to connect it all directly to advocacy for … wait for it… leftist government policies!

I swear I don’t make this stuff up:

“Is it humans or is it not? We really need to get beyond that,” Bernadette Woods Placky, an Emmy award-winning meteorologist who directs the Climate Matters program at Climate Central, told me. Climate Matters is tracking climate trends in 244 cities—including a steadily warming Phoenix. “We are still not getting enough people to talk about it in the ways that matter to human beings in their homes, in their communities, for their family,” she added. “So it is making those connections in ways that really matter to people. It’s a jobs story. It’s an agriculture story. Connect it to the farm bill; boom!”

Boom, indeed. This new scam plan will last about 3 months or until Al Gore puts together another slide show, whichever comes first. Then it will all go back to the traditional alarmist hype, because that is the literal dogma of the Global Church of Climate Change, of which Mr. Gore is the reigning Pope.

The State of the Union address is tonight – here are eight key things to look for that the media isn’t talking about this morning:

  • Will Texas Democrat Sheila Jackson Lee have her customary seat on the aisle so she can get her face on television? – Is the Pope Catholic (ok, that’s an open question)? Does a wild bear poop in the woods? It is a very safe bet that she is already ensconced in her favorite seat as I post this piece up around 7:00 Central Time this morning. There she will sit all day long, forcing staffers to bring her food and sit in for her when she takes bathroom breaks, in her annual effort to show her constituents how important she is. It is possibly the most pathetic tradition in the DC Swamp.
  • Will Ruth Bader Ginsburg give the nation proof of life? – Don’t count on it. And don’t count on any of the news fakers at CNN, MSNBC or the three “major” broadcast networks to make any mention of her absence.
  • Will San Fran Nan have that gerbil running around in her mouth again this year? – Ok, it was probably just a poorly-fitting bridge, but Nancy Pelosi spent the entirety of Trump’s speech last year looking for all the world like she was chasing some sort of living being around in her mouth with her tongue. She’ll be seated behind the President at the podium this time, so the camera will be on her all night long. Hopefully she’s had a trip to the orthodontist since then, because it was not a pretty spectacle.

  • Will West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin have to get Chuck Schumer’s permission on when to stand and applaud this year? – He did last year, and was famously caught on camera quickly sitting down after Schumer gave him a dirty look.  Pathetic.
  • Will Democrat freshmen stage some sort of a disruption? – Don’t be surprised if freshmen Democrats, led by communist Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and Muslim extremists Ilhan Omar and Rhashida Tlaib, stage some sort of disruption during the speech. It would be in keeping with their distinct lack of character.
  • Will any white man from the Virginia Democrat delegation show up in blackface or KKK robes? – After this last week, it’s a perfectly valid question.
  • Will the President call Democrats out for their ongoing advocacy of killing live-born babies? – He certainly should, and he should do it in the most unambiguous language possible.
  • Will the President call the fake news media out for its ongoing protection of the blatant racist, infanticide-supporting Governor of Virginia? – Assuming Ralph Northam has still not resigned by the time President Trump takes the podium tonight, how could he not?

There you have them – eight points of intrigue to keep your sharp eyes out for during this year’s rendition of the most tedious and tiresome bit of Kabuki Theater the DC Swamp rolls out to entertain the masses each year. I still wish the President had decided to go deliver this thing out in Pittsburgh, St. Louis or the Rio Grande Valley last week, but hey, it is what it is, so let’s all make the best of it.

That is all.

Patriots and Rams Deliver a Super Bowl Deserving of its Halftime Show

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Can somebody tell me why I still watch these things? –  The NFL almost pulled off what I had always assumed was the utterly impossible last night, staging a Super Bowl game that was very nearly as  boring and tedious as a damn soccer match. Yes, yes, yes, I know – it was a “great defensive battle,” right? Spare me, please.

It was a game in which LA Rams quarterback Jared Goff played worse than any Super Bowl QB since at least Billy Kilmer and really since Joe Kapp in Super Bowl IV. The vaunted Rams offense punted on its first 8 possessions, racking up a princely 3 first downs in the process, before finally breaking through with an actual drive that resulted in an actual score – a field goal – with a few minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter.

You read that right: Rams fans (I’m not one) had already had to sit through that atrocity of a halftime show before their team even scratched the scoreboard. At least Patriots fans (I’m not one of those, either) got to see their guy kick a field goal before the NFL rolled Adam Levine, Maroon 5 and a bunch of hip-hop artists who CBS had to keep bleeping out onto the field to deliver what has to have been the most dreadful halftime show since Up With People performed back in the mid-70s.

Somewhere, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam is no doubt preparing to have a press conference in which he says something like, “look, I have worn full-length mink coats and heavy chain jewelry while in black face many times in my life, but I swear I was not that fat rapper who performed with Maroon 5 last night, and I want to use facial recognition software to prove it.”

The show’s sole redeeming value was that the media-hyped promise that Levine would give some sort of tribute to all the wealthy NFL slobs who kneel during the national anthem failed to materialize. Guess either the NFL or CBS warned him off.

For their own part, Tom Brady and the Patriots offense played possum through the first 53 minutes of the contest before Brady finally started targeting all-time great tight end Rob Gronkowski on a fantastic drive that ended in a TD run by RB Sony Michel. The Rams got the ball back and, with the Patriots in a soft “prevent” defense, promptly moved the ball to the New England 27 yard line before Goff very predictably threw an interception that effectively ended the contest.  That INT occurred with 2:43 remaining on the game clock, ending the lone 4-minute and 17-second flurry of actual action in this three-hour long contest.

When you think about it, that’s actually not as tedious and boring as the average soccer match, which will have about 45 seconds of actual action spread over about two and a half hours.

So, at the end of the night, in spite of everything – including Adam Levine taking his shirt off, I guess in a tribute to Janet Jackson – American football is still better than soccer. Faint praise, but it’s all I got.

A little bit of trivia and a song to start your week off right. – Other than the game’s only touchdown, the only real other highlight of the evening was the magnificent rendition of the national anthem delivered by the great and elegant Gladys Knight. The Pips were nowhere to be seen, but the lady didn’t need any help on this particular night.

On a sports-related bulletin board I frequent, a poster related this wonderful bit of trivia that links Ms. Knight to the late Farrah Fawcett, who would have turned 72 on Sunday:

Most people don’t know that the song “Midnight Train to Georgia,” which was such a huge hit for Gladys Knight and the Pips in 1973, was inspired by Farrah. In 1972, songwriter Jim Weatherly phoned Lee Majors, who was one of his friends and Farrah’s husband at the time. Farrah picked up the phone and answered the call. Weatherly and Fawcett chatted briefly and she told him she was going to visit her mother and was taking “the midnight plane to Houston.” Although Majors and Fawcett were both successful by that time, Weatherly thought Farrah’s line was a good one and used Farrah and Lee as “characters” in his song, which is about a failed actress who leaves Los Angeles and is followed by her boyfriend who cannot live without her. Eventually the genders were swapped to a failed actor who leaves Los Angeles and is followed by his girlfriend who cannot live without him, a train replaced the plane, and Houston was changed to Georgia. Here is Jim Weatherly singing the original song, the song that Farrah inspired, “Midnight Plane to Houston.” As soon as you hear it, you’ll recognize it.

Ralph Northam Says “Hold My Beer!” One More Time

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

What would you do if you’re at a press conference, fighting for your political life after a week during which you endorsed outright infanticide and got caught wearing black face, and a reporter asks if you can still do the Michael Jackson Moonwalk? –  Well, if you’re Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, you look around to see if there’s room to do the Moonwalk and are just about to say “Hold my beer!” until your wife – who thankfully was there to stand by her racist, baby-killing man – tells you that these are “inappropriate circumstances” in which to show off your dancing skills.

That is how clueless an individual the Governor of Virginia truly is. Which yet again raises the question, how did Ed Gillespie and the Virginia GOP lose to this walking, talking circus clown? What are they putting in the water in Virginia that leads voters to go to the polls and actively support such a horrible wretch of a human being?

Yes, yes, I know: Texans re-elect Sheila Jackson Lee to the congress every two years like clockwork, but that’s from a tiny district carved out of specific parts of Houston that is filled with people who would vote for Spongebob Squarepants or Grumpy Cat if they happened to be the Democrat nominee. Virginia is a whole state – like in Arizona, whose elected senators become increasingly repugnant in each iteration (think McCain to Flake to Sinema), the voters there do not have the gerrymandering excuse.

Here’s how stupid Virginia’s Governor believes Virginia’s voters are as a class: After admitting several times on Friday evening that he is indeed the guy in black face in the infamous photo that everyone on earth has seen a dozen times now, he spent all day Saturday crawfishing that back. His new story is that, yes, he did dress up in black face in an effort to imitate Michael Jackson the same year that photo was taken, but the guy in black face in that specific photo is not him. (For all you Millennials out there who are confused because you only remember Michael Jackson as one of the whitest men you’ve ever seen in your life, in 1984 he did indeed have dark skin.)

Even better, Northam now claims that Friday was the first time he had ever seen that photo in his entire life, because he did not purchase his college annual. So he was confused on Friday, but after getting a good night’s sleep beside his stand-by-your-racist-baby-killing-man wife, he wants you to believe that he awoke on Saturday to the realization that, “Hey, I did do all that horribly racist stuff in college, but nobody took a picture of me doing it!” and he is claiming he wants to get an “expert” to use “facial recognition software” on that grainy black-and-white photo from 35 years ago to prove it!

Presumably, Gov. Racist Baby Killer also thinks CSI was a documentary.

One thing we know for certain sure is that he thinks voters in Virginia – and Democrats everywhere – are hopelessly stupid individuals and easily misled, just like Hillary Clinton famously said.

And hey, the fact that he got elected to serve as Governor of Virginia pretty much proves he’s 100% correct.

Ralph Northam is What Happens When Our Fake News Media Fails to do Its Job

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

At last!  A failed mayor of a corrupt New Jersey city is running for president!  Thanks, Democrats! –  Yes, friends, Senator Spartacus Jazz Hands, aka Cory Booker, has joined the fray in the ballooning competition to see which Democrat gets to lose to Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election.  Aren’t you all thrilled?  I know I am.

We had to have Sen. Jazz Hands in the race for the entertainment value alone. Think of him as the 2020 version of John Kasich, only without all the “my father was a mailman” references. Spartacus will be the guy who just keeps hanging around saying all sorts of boring and stupid stuff while not winning anything, but he’ll have the added value of throwing the frequent childish fit when he doesn’t get his way about something. That’s when the Jazz Hands come out.

Yes, truly, Sen. Jazz Hands was an essential element for this cycle’s field of Democrat candidates. His entry into the race leaves us with just one more potential candidate announcement remaining who simply must get in in order to complete the perfect Democrat line up of freaks, misanthropes, communists, losers and frauds: Irish Bob O’Rourke.

Irish Bob simply must get in for the simple reason of all the fantastic social media memes his fake nickname will spawn. Plus, the potential for him live-streaming his next colonoscopy for political reasons is just something the nation cannot live without.

Jump in, Irish Bob, the water’s just fine, and the doctor is ready.

How does this even happen? – When you look back on the reality of it, it’s hard to imagine anyone with a mind creative and evil enough to make up the week the Democrat Party just had. Think about it: This week alone, here is what they have done:

  • Had two sitting governors, the mayor of a major city, and members of 8 different state legislatures sign, propose, endorse or pass bills that legalize infanticide;
  • Had the narrative about the infamous “Trump Tower Meeting” conducted by Donald Trump, Jr. in October 2016 be revealed as utterly fake news;
  • Had one of the party’s major presidential candidates endorse elimination of all private health insurance, a key piece of the communist agenda;
  • Saw the head of the American Gestapo, er, “Special Counsel” issue an indictment against Roger Stone that conclusively proves there was no “Russia Collusion” by the Trump Campaign;
  • Had the State of the Union Address scheduled for Feb. 5, giving President Trump a golden opportunity to spend 90 minutes educating the nation about what a freak and horror show their political party really is;
  • Had their favorite Supreme Court Justice fail to show up for work for the fourth consecutive week;
  • Saw President Trump take the right side – the side of freedom – in Venezuela while many of their own members and media toadies showed their true colors by supporting that country’s current thug socialist dictator;
  • Had the January jobs report come in at almost double the number predicted by all the idiot “experts”;
  • Saw the Dow Jones Industrial Average jump right back up over 25,000;
  • Saw President Trump make huge progress in getting his trade deal with China;
  • And finally, the coup de gras, saw the release of a yearbook photo showing the Democrat Governor of Virginia made up in black face, standing next to a guy in full KKK regalia!

Now, that, folks, is a No Good, Terrible, Horrible, God-awful, Very Bad Week.

And it’s only Saturday.

Seriously, how do you miss this? – If I’m Ed Gillespie, the GOP candidate who lost the Virginia Governor’s race to Ralph Black Face Infanticide Northam, I’m on the phone this morning with the high-dollar firm that was in charge of my campaign’s opposition research effort demanding a refund.

Seriously, how does someone miss something so rudimentary and still hold themselves out to be political professionals? And it isn’t just Gillespie – Northam had three opponents in the Democrat primary, and none of their oppo people caught it, either. It took a conservative blogsite – Bigleaguepolitics.com – with a no doubt bare bones staff to finally take a look at Northam’s college annuals and find the photo that everyone else had missed.  Amazing.

Then there’s the fake news media, most especially the news fakers at the Washington Post. The Post had plenty of fake reporters on staff to dedicate to finding women from 40 years ago who would slander Alabama Republican senate candidate Roy Moore, had dozens of fake journalists scouring every facet of Brett Kavanaugh’s background, but had zero interest at all in assigning some intern to review the high school and college annuals of a Democrat gubernatorial candidate.  Funny how that works, huh?

Here we have an overt racist (Northam’s college nickname was – I kid you not – “Coon Man”) and endorser of outright infanticide sitting in the Governor’s mansion of Virginia in the year 2019, and no one in our fake news media had the slightest whiff of that prior to election day?  Please.

Note to all you demented Democrats: This is what happens when our nation’s entire Fourth Estate has consciously and intentionally abrogated its duty to perform as the people’s advocate in our society. Ralph Northam and the shame he has brought upon you this week is simply reaping what your party has sown.

I’m cool with that.

That is all.

Robert Mueller’s Big Bag of Nothing Springs Another Leak

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Oh, that report was fake news? You don’t say. –  After having spent the last year and a half slandering Donald Trump, Jr. and his father, President Donald Trump, alleging that telephone records somehow showed that Trump, Jr. had called his father just prior to his famous meeting with several Russian nationals at Trump Tower in October of 2016, the news fakers at CNN scrambled to cover their filthy tracks yesterday. The implication of course being that then-Candidate Trump was fully aware in advance of this meeting and approved of it, something President Trump has consistently denied.

In a story hilariously headlined as being somehow “Exclusive”, CNN meekly informed its tiny online audience that “Senate investigators have obtained new information showing Donald Trump Jr.’s mysterious phone calls ahead of the 2016 Trump Tower meeting were not with his father, three sources with knowledge of the matter told CNN.”

Oh.  You don’t say. Tell us more.

“Records provided to the Senate Intelligence Committee show the calls were between Trump Jr. and two of his business associates, the sources said, and appear to contradict Democrats’ long-held suspicions that the blocked number was from then-candidate Donald Trump.”

You have to love the phrasing there. To be clear and actually honest – in direct contrast to CNN’s daily practices – it isn’t just the “Democrats” who have been promoting the massive lies about what was a simple and completely legal meeting in which Trump, Jr. and a few others working on the Trump Campaign thought they might get some intel on their Democrat opponents. CNN digital and on-air personnel have been happily and incessantly doing the same for a year and a half now.

And it hasn’t been limited to CNN, oh, no. We’ve seen the same sort of yellow fake journalism about this meeting from the New York Times, the Washington Post, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC and the whole of the fake news media establishment – a literal orgy of fake news gluttony about a single 40-minute meeting, the type of which any presidential campaign is going to conduct with outside sources several times a week.

Meanwhile, these same fake media outlets have to literally be forced into superficially mentioning the fact that the Pantsuit Princess’s campaign and the DNC shelled out MILLIONS of dollars paying the Perkins Coie law firm and Fusion GPS to coordinate with Russian agents to compile the fake Trump Dossier that has served as basically the sole basis for the last two years of endless and mindless investigations.

Bug-eyed Adam Schiff, the main “Democrat” referenced in the CNN report as having tirelessly pushed this fake story, must be devastated. Remember, when Donald Trump, Jr. testified behind closed doors before the House Intelligence Committee last year, details about his testimony were leaked to CNN while the hearing was still ongoing. The initial CNN report aired just minutes after Schiff had mysteriously left the hearing room for a few moments. Such a coincidence there.

In case you missed it, acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker told the leering press on Monday that he has been fully briefed on the Mueller Witch Hunt and believes it will be wrapped up soon. This came as a big shock to all the leftwingers who still cling to the belief that Mueller is going to just keep going throughout the duration of the Trump presidency, but I told you that it was pretty obvious last September that Mueller was in the process of slowly winding the thing down.

The reason why Mueller is likely to wrap it all up soon and issue his final report is exemplified by the collapse of this fake Trump Tower Meeting story: He is holding a big bag of nothing when it comes to  “Russia Collusion” and that bag has a bunch of leaks. The entire thing is a fantasy constructed by the Democrats and the fake news media, and, as Alan Dershowitz pointed out earlier this week, Mueller has yet to indict any American on any charge related to what his mission was supposed to be.

You can’t indict a sitting President on smoke and mirrors, and at the end of the day, that is all Mueller has. Time to wrap up this stain on our nation’s history. Long past time, in fact.

It’s 100% sure to work. – The simplest and surest way to get the Democrats and fake news media to stop trying to normalize pedophilia and infanticide in our society would be for President Trump to endorse both practices.  Then, all the Democrats and fake reporters would immediately be, like, totally against them. It’s a foolproof plan.

Ocasio Cortez Update! – She’s like an 8 year-old who just completed her first piano recital:

So now we know she’s pretty adept at reading a script prepared by others. Cool. Now, if she can master the practice of taking both sides of every issue depending on what audience she happens to be talking to, she’ll be just like a real member of congress.

Fake News, WaPo Headline Edition. – Check out how the news fakers at the Washington Post attempted to turn the Virginia Democrats-supporting-infanticide incident into a negative for the Republicans, and Ben Shapiro’s astute response:

Hey, you knew Planned Parenthood had to be pushing the infanticide bills. – Another bit of news from our You Don’t Say! department:

Some things in life are just too predictable.

That is all.
