Get Woke, Go Broke: BLMFL Ratings Continue Sprint to Rock Bottom

Monday Night Football’s opening weekend double-header continued the BLMFL’s “get woke, go broke” sprint for the bottom in the television ratings. After the Sunday Night Football marquis matchup between the LA Rams and the TV magnet Dallas Cowboys tanked 16.1% below the ratings for the 2019 SNF opener, the MNF double headers performed even worse.

After collapsing by about 18% during the 2016/2017 seasons following the advent of Colin Kaepernick’s national anthem kneeling antics, the league had regained about half of that loss over the past two seasons. The dismal performance of this weekend’s opening games shows that all of the genuflecting the league is doing towards the openly-Marxist terrorist group BLM has put it back on its downward track.

From a story at Sportsnaut.com:

According to ShowBuzz Daily, the doubleader on Monday night represented a major downtick in viewership from the same time slots a season ago.

  • Steelers at Giants: This game drew 10.8 million viewers on ESPN, down 21% from the early-game opener during Week 1 of the 2019 NFL season
  • Titans at Broncos: Drew 7.7 million viewers, down a whopping 38% from the late game last year.

These are just some startling numbers right here. They are also a continuation of a trend around the NFL world thus far on the young season.

This comes after the “Sunday Night Football” matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Rams in Los Angeles saw a drop of 16.1% from last season’s opener. America’s Team being unable to draw 15 million viewers during a global pandemic in which people are at home more often than in the past can’t be seen as great news for the NFL.

The “Monday Night Football” doubleheader is also interesting in that it included one of the two teams in the nation’s largest media market (New York Giants) opening things up against another big media market team in that of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch of people.

A Rash of Glorious WINNING To End The Week

So much winning, you’ll get tired of winning, right? No? Yeah, me either.

Gosh, how many can one guy win? – President Donald Trump was nominated for a second Nobel Peace Prize Friday morning for his work to bring peace between Kosovo and Serbia.

From a report at the New York Post:

WASHINGTON — President Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for a second time this week — this time for brokering a historic peace deal between Serbia and breakaway republic Kosovo.

In a Friday morning tweet, Magnus Jacobsson, a member of the Swedish Parliament, announced he was nominating the Trump administration and the two European nations for their “joint work for peace and economic development, through the cooperation agreement signed in the White House.”

“Trade and communications are important building blocks for peace,” Jacobsson wrote, sharing his letter to the Nobel Committee.

On Wednesday, the president was nominated for the prestigious award by a member of the Norwegian Parliament for helping broker a peace deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

Democrats and their toadies in the corrupt news media were naturally horrified at this turn of events, and no doubt will be furiously lobbying their globalist friends on the Nobel committee to vote to deny the Bad Orange man this prize. Because that is just how petty and depraved these people truly are.

Incidentially, the only effort any Democrat president over the last 30 years made to reconcile Kosovo and Serbia came in 1996, when Bill Clinton attempted to bomb both nations back into the stone age. The military/industrial complex, the generals, Bill Kristol and John McCain all preferred that method of promoting “peace”.

Speaking of peace… – Peace is breaking out all over the Middle East as well, as officials from Bahrain traveled to the Oval Office to become the second Arab nation to sign onto the same normalization of relations with Israel agreement that the UAE agreed to in late August. That UAE/Israel deal of course secured President Trump’s first Nobel nomination.

From an article at Fox News:

President Trump on Friday announced that Bahrain has agreed to normalize relations with Israel, another diplomatic win for the president coming after a similar agreement with the United Arab Emirates just last month.

“This is really something special, very, very special,” Trump said in the Oval Office, predicting that the region “will become more secure and prosperous” as a result of the diplomatic moves.

“The sand was loaded up with blood, and now you’ll see a lot of that sand will be loaded up with peace,” he said.

According to a formal statement issued by the three countries, they agreed to “the establishment of full diplomatic relations between Israel and the Kingdom of Bahrain.”

“This is a historic breakthrough to further peace in the Middle East. Opening direct dialogue and ties between these two dynamic societies and advanced economies will continue the positive transformation of the Middle East and increase stability, security, and prosperity in the region,” the statement said.

Those loud noises you heard Friday afternoon were the sounds of the exploding heads of Nancy Pelosi and Meghan McCain.

NFL Ratings are tanking… – The Kansas City Chiefs, led by the amazing Patrick Mahomes, are without any question the most exciting product the BLMFL has to offer these days. But even they could not save the Marxist terrorist-supporting league’s television ratings Thursday evening.

The game between Kansas City and the incredibly boring Houston Texans tanked miserably in the ratings, dropping a whopping 16.1% from the league’s Thursday night opener from a year ago.

From a story at Outkick.com:

The NFL is back, but the story reads ugly. According to Deadline, opening night is looking at 10-year low.

In early numbers, the Chiefs win scored a 5.2 among adults 18-49 and 16.4 million viewers between 8-11 p.m. ET. While the number will adjust some upward later to 11:30 p.m., right now it’s a 16.1% drop. In fast affiliates, last night fell the same 16.1%.

Though the NFL actually kept wokeness to a minimum, football fans didn’t give it the chance. It was too late. Fans heard the chatter, saw what happened with Drew Brees, and knew social justice would take priority pregame. Americans expected the players to kneel, thus they avoided finding out.

This number is alarming. Patrick Mahomes is the best show in sports, the Chiefs are a thrill ride. If that combination can’t get fans to ignore the exhausting nonsense, few games will.

[End]

At this rate, the BLMFL is going to virtue-signal itself into utter oblivion by 2025.

Texans great J.J. Watt said he didn’t understand why the fans booed the players during the pregame:

“The moment of unity I personally thought was good,” Watt said, via NFL Network, after Houston’s 34-20 loss. “I mean the booing during that moment was unfortunate. I don’t fully understand that. There was no flag involved. There was nothing involved other than two teams coming together to show unity.”

Here’s why the fans booed, J.J.:

The entire reason why professional sports became the multi-billion dollar enterprises they all are these days is because they were designed to give working men and women a respite from the problems of the day. People used to be able to look forward to their favorite NFL team providing them with a 3-hour escape from their worries, cares and the political issues of the day. Fans could plan their entire weekends around making sure they had nothing else going on by kickoff so they could kick back, pop the top on a beer and just vege out for 180 minutes.

You and your virtue-signaling peers have now robbed NFL fans of that 3 hours of getting away from it all, and now fans are returning your stupidity and selfishness by cancelling season tickets and finding other things to do while you and your league and your announcers and your sponsors are flooding the airwaves with all of your efforts to brainwash the public into giving a damn what any of you think about racism and politics.

The simple fact of the matter is that the National Football League – like the NBA, MLB and pretty much every other sport – has completely lost sight of the central element that made it such a big deal in the first place. Now that that genie has been let out of the bottle, it’s gonna be really damn hard to shove it back in.

That is all.

William Barr Takes off the Gloves Regarding BLM

This is a big, big deal, folks. During an interview with Mark Levin aired Sunday night on Fox News, Attorney General William Barr took the gloves completely off regarding the Black Lives Matter domestic terrorist group that, along with Antifa, serves as the insurrectionist arm of the Democrat Party.

Some of Mr. Barr’s quotes appear below. Read them carefully and you will see the U.S. Attorney General speaking with perfectly clear eyes about the true nature of BLM, which is indistinguishable from its fellow Democrat-sponsored terrorist group, Antifa, as I have been pointing out to readers here for weeks now:

The United States is grappling with a new form of “urban guerrilla warfare” driven by the left’s “lust for power,” Attorney General William Barr told “Life, Liberty & Levin” on Sunday.

Discussing the ongoing Black Lives Matter riots rippling through several U.S. cities, Barr told host Mark Levin that the organization —  which has been characterized by the media as a fed-up activist group —  is comprised of “Bolsheviks” with a focus on on “some form of socialism, communism.”

“They are a revolutionary group that is interested in some form of socialism, communism. They’re essentially Bolsheviks. Their tactics are fascistic,” he said.

Barr compared the nationwide riots organized by Antifa to “a new form of urban guerrilla warfare.”

“The way the guerrilla…hides out among the people as a fish in the ocean…what they do is they are essentially shielding themselves or shrouding themselves in First Amendment activity,” he explained. “They go into the demonstrations, which are exercising First Amendment activity, and they insinuate themselves in there to shield themselves. That’s where they swim. And what they do is they hijack these demonstrations and they and they provoke violence.”

[End]

Now, watch as Barr links Antifa/BLM directly to their sponsors in the communist Democrat Party:

The group’s radical leanings are reflective of the Democratic party’s far-left shift in recent years, Barr said. “The left has “pulled away from the umbrella of classical liberal values that have undergirded” America and made a “secular religion” out of seeking “complete political victory,” he argued.

It began the day Trump won in 2016, “and from that point forward, there’s been the resistance,” Barr told Levin.  “They were trying to impeach him from Day One. They have done everything they can..and I think it’s because of the desire for power that the left wants.”

Power has become a “secular religion of the left,”  Barr asserted. “They want to run people’s lives so they can design utopia for all of us…and it’s the lust for power. And they weren’t expecting Trump’s victory. And it outrages them.”

[End]

Man, it’s like he’s been reading Today’s Campaign Update or something.

I mentioned this in the Monday News Roundup, but it deserves special focus: These comments and more that Mr. Barr made during his interview with Levin are not normal. They are not the ordinary, scripted talking points you see attorneys general roll out in the normal course of their daily business. AGs are normally careful not to offend the opposition party in congress, especially when it controls a majority of the House of Representatives and thus the DOJ budget.

Barr’s remarks here are essentially a notice to Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and Joe Biden’s elder-abusing handlers that the gloves are now off. No more playing by the Marquess of Queensbury rules in which one punch is politely exchanged for another. Barr’s rhetoric signals that he’s now going into cage match mode.

It is also important to note the implications of Barr’s truth-telling about BLM as it relates the pro sports and entertainment industry. Barr’s equation of BLM with Antifa is a de facto declaration that he considers BLM a domestic terrorist organization, as he does Antifa.

This would be the very same BLM group whose logo now appears on NBA uniforms and courts; the same BLM group whose logo appears on Major League Baseball uniform jerseys; the same BLM group whose logos will appear on NFL uniforms this fall unless something changes. It is the very same BLM group to which everyone in Hollywood and the news media has genuflected and declared their undying fealty.

This is a big, big deal. Let’s hope we don’t see any “clarifying statements” from DOJ today trying to walk any of it back. BLM/Antifa and their communist Democrat sponsors are direct threats to our nation’s survival, and it is impossible to defeat an enemy unless you can first properly identify them with clear, focused eyes.

That is all.

Jason Whitlock Flays and Exposes the NFL and Black Lives Matter

Over the past month I have received a number of nasty notes from both acquaintances (I hesitate to use the word ‘friend’ for these people) and non-acquaintances over my consistent characterization of Black Lives Matter being essentially the same as Antifa: A Marxist/Anarchist terrorist organization funded by Soros-backed front groups whose goal is the destruction of America.

Black Lives Matter is not, as the corrupt news media continues to contend, any sort of social justice or civil rights organization. You don’t have to take my word for it – all you have to do is visit the group’s website and read its goals and objectives. It is a Marxist-run terrorist organization, period.

If you don’t believe BLM’s own website and public statements by its leaders bragging about how they are all “trained Marxists,” how about Jason Whitlock?

As he noted on Twitter the other day, Mr. Whitlock – a highly-regarded sports writer and sports-TV personality – has been Black since the day he was born. He also has a long and public history of being completely down with the real goals of real social justice and civil rights groups in America.

Whitlock appeared on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News program last night and echoed my assessment of BLM to a T. In the process he also excoriated the NFL owners and Commissioner Roger Goodell as cowards who are sucking up to a bunch of Marxists. It was epic.

Here is a clip of the interview – Whitlock comes on at about the 1:40 mark:

Here are some of Whitlock’s statements:

Asked about the NFL’s lack of leadership, Whitlock said:

“I see a lack of leadership. A failure of men. This goes against every value that exemplifies America. The NFL has built itself on unity and there is no way you can do any research on the Black Lives Matter Movement and not see it’s a Marxist movement.”

Tucker asked Whitlock where is NFL commissioner Roger Goodell during this mess?

“Under his desk like a coward. Abandoning those in America that enriched him by doing nothing to back them up. A complete failure of leadership that has men and women falling in cowardice.”

About Black Lives Matter, Whitlock said it is a “Marxist political organization” that does not stand for “Black death nor Black men.”

“It is a political movement. It is a Communist political movement. … I’ve seen many of these guys [NFL owners], they claim they’re in Christianity and their religious beliefs, do they understand Black Lives Matter, Communism, Marxism, is anti-religious? This is a historic failure of men and leadership. This is cowardice at its highest level, this is the NFL jumping the shark and saying we quit being who we said we are. We’re now something else because our money is on the line and we don’t stand for the values we said we stood for.”

[End]

Now, I suppose Whitlock will inevitably become the target of the Perpetual Outrage crowd on Twitter, which leads the cancel culture there. Because there is nothing those on the political left in America hate and fear more than a Black man telling the truth.

Just ask Clarence Thomas and Tim Scott.

Black Lives Matter is essentially the same as Antifa: A Marxist/Anarchist domestic terrorist group. You don’t have to take my word for it anymore.

That is all.

Larry Schweikart: How Trump has Re-Shaped the American Electorate

[Note: Larry Schweikart, America’s History Teacher and author/co-author of several best selling books, is a frequent contributor here at The Campaign Update. This morning he posted a terrific thread on Twitter containing an array of insights on current events and the 2020 election dynamics, which I am reproducing here with his permisssion.]

3) How do you know Trump has largely won on both issues? They ain’t in the news.

4) When was the last time you heard about the Wall? DemoKKKrats know they cannot stop it now. They’ve given up even trying. Trump pulled off a master move in funding it through the Pentagon.

5) On trade/outsourcing, Trump proved that, yes, he did have a magic wand and yes some of the jobs did come back & were coming back steadily before China retaliated with the China Virus.

6) But DemoKKKrats know in any kind of “normal” economy, MANY of those jobs will come back.

7) I am convinced this is partly the reason for the heightened Kushner attacks last week. DemoKKKrats are still (unsuccessfully) trying to drive a wedge between the jobs/trade side of MAGA and the immigration side.

8) BTW, where is Menopausal Ann [Coulter] on this? Where is DACA?

9) DemoKKKrats have totally dropped DACA cuz they lost.

10) What is the significance of the illegal slowdown? Of the DACA loss?

11) It has spurred the DemoKKKrats even more to try to find other voters to replace them.

12) DemoKKKrats’ black support is slowly eroding.

13) Just like whites, you will see a MAGA black side (most still will out of safety concerns not say this openly) and a (yes, much larger) BLM side.

14) On the MAGA side will be business owners, middle and aspiring middle class blacks, & blue collar workers.

15) Not surprisingly, while the percentages will be different, the black community will (finally) come to resemble the white community in that you’ll have snowflake BLM/college educated blacks robotized by “higher ed” & you’ll have “practical blacks” who’ve seen the Ds do nothing.

16) There is plenty of poll support for this second group of MAGA blacks to be anywhere from 15-25% of the black electorate, but there is good reason to think there is another skeptical layer that will always just stay home rather than keep voting for liars.

17) As @helloitsthao  [Thao Nguyen] points out, this is creating a “donut” where elements of inner cities & outer ring/rural whites vote MAGA and the inner suburb snowflake Karens vote Whackadoodle Lib.

18) However, in the bigger picture, Trump has totally destroyed the DemoKKKrats’ next 50 years of voter base with sharply curtailing illegals & by attracting “practical black” votes.

19) The DemoKKKrats had to go somewhere.

20) Enter the Snowflake Karens.

21) The dual edged sword of China Virus fear porn & the shaming-on-steroids BLM hate movement have thus far succeeded with that inner ring. Most urban-dwelling college educated now hate Trump (rural do not). This is largely out of fear-shaming by SJWs now joined by the corporates.

22) Oh, here are two Larry Schweikart prophecies: First, the NFL WILL sport some sort of BLM logo on helmets & uniforms this fall. (Your response: “Well, I’ll just watch college football.”) Not so fast. VERY SOON, maybe this year you’ll also see the colleges go full BLM in their sports.

22) contd. Second, the 15% movement, where bidnesses are shamed into saying they will purchase/use suppliers who are black owned by the rate of 15%? Soon BLM will demand 30%. Then 60%. Then 100%. NO. NUMBER. WILL. EVER. BE. ENOUGH.

23) Allow me to quote from “A Patriot’s History of the United States” by Schweikart and Michael Allen: [1960’s radical] Jerry Rubin explainedSatisfy our demands & we go twelve more… All we want from these meetings are demands that are never ‘reasonable’. When the demands reached the point that no rational university administrator [OR, I WOULD ADD TODAY, CITY OR BUSINESS LEADER] or public official could possibly comply with them,’ Rubin noted, “Then we scream, righteously angry . . . . Goals are irrelevant. The tactics, the actions are critical.”

24) Of course, Rubin wasn’t entirely honest. No leftists are. He meant that short-term goals were irrelevant, but the destabilization of society as a long-term objective was entirely relevant.

25) The last people to figure this out are liberals. That’s why in communist society they are the first ones shot and imprisoned. They are sheep, baffled by the fact that the “movement” has turned on them. Conservatives & advocates of freedom fought, ran, or hid for far longer.

26) In conclusion, the NFL, the NBA, the City of Seattle, the City of New York, the City of Chicago et al. are all on borrowed time. There will be “twelve more demands.”

[End]

That is all.

Patriots and Rams Deliver a Super Bowl Deserving of its Halftime Show

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Can somebody tell me why I still watch these things? –  The NFL almost pulled off what I had always assumed was the utterly impossible last night, staging a Super Bowl game that was very nearly as  boring and tedious as a damn soccer match. Yes, yes, yes, I know – it was a “great defensive battle,” right? Spare me, please.

It was a game in which LA Rams quarterback Jared Goff played worse than any Super Bowl QB since at least Billy Kilmer and really since Joe Kapp in Super Bowl IV. The vaunted Rams offense punted on its first 8 possessions, racking up a princely 3 first downs in the process, before finally breaking through with an actual drive that resulted in an actual score – a field goal – with a few minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter.

You read that right: Rams fans (I’m not one) had already had to sit through that atrocity of a halftime show before their team even scratched the scoreboard. At least Patriots fans (I’m not one of those, either) got to see their guy kick a field goal before the NFL rolled Adam Levine, Maroon 5 and a bunch of hip-hop artists who CBS had to keep bleeping out onto the field to deliver what has to have been the most dreadful halftime show since Up With People performed back in the mid-70s.

Somewhere, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam is no doubt preparing to have a press conference in which he says something like, “look, I have worn full-length mink coats and heavy chain jewelry while in black face many times in my life, but I swear I was not that fat rapper who performed with Maroon 5 last night, and I want to use facial recognition software to prove it.”

The show’s sole redeeming value was that the media-hyped promise that Levine would give some sort of tribute to all the wealthy NFL slobs who kneel during the national anthem failed to materialize. Guess either the NFL or CBS warned him off.

For their own part, Tom Brady and the Patriots offense played possum through the first 53 minutes of the contest before Brady finally started targeting all-time great tight end Rob Gronkowski on a fantastic drive that ended in a TD run by RB Sony Michel. The Rams got the ball back and, with the Patriots in a soft “prevent” defense, promptly moved the ball to the New England 27 yard line before Goff very predictably threw an interception that effectively ended the contest.  That INT occurred with 2:43 remaining on the game clock, ending the lone 4-minute and 17-second flurry of actual action in this three-hour long contest.

When you think about it, that’s actually not as tedious and boring as the average soccer match, which will have about 45 seconds of actual action spread over about two and a half hours.

So, at the end of the night, in spite of everything – including Adam Levine taking his shirt off, I guess in a tribute to Janet Jackson – American football is still better than soccer. Faint praise, but it’s all I got.

A little bit of trivia and a song to start your week off right. – Other than the game’s only touchdown, the only real other highlight of the evening was the magnificent rendition of the national anthem delivered by the great and elegant Gladys Knight. The Pips were nowhere to be seen, but the lady didn’t need any help on this particular night.

On a sports-related bulletin board I frequent, a poster related this wonderful bit of trivia that links Ms. Knight to the late Farrah Fawcett, who would have turned 72 on Sunday:

Most people don’t know that the song “Midnight Train to Georgia,” which was such a huge hit for Gladys Knight and the Pips in 1973, was inspired by Farrah. In 1972, songwriter Jim Weatherly phoned Lee Majors, who was one of his friends and Farrah’s husband at the time. Farrah picked up the phone and answered the call. Weatherly and Fawcett chatted briefly and she told him she was going to visit her mother and was taking “the midnight plane to Houston.” Although Majors and Fawcett were both successful by that time, Weatherly thought Farrah’s line was a good one and used Farrah and Lee as “characters” in his song, which is about a failed actress who leaves Los Angeles and is followed by her boyfriend who cannot live without her. Eventually the genders were swapped to a failed actor who leaves Los Angeles and is followed by his girlfriend who cannot live without him, a train replaced the plane, and Houston was changed to Georgia. Here is Jim Weatherly singing the original song, the song that Farrah inspired, “Midnight Plane to Houston.” As soon as you hear it, you’ll recognize it.

The Migrant Caravan Becomes Tijuana’s Problem

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Don’t go away mad, Brenda Snipes, just…well, you know the rest. –  In what is a loss from which the dimwitted people of Broward County who kept re-electing her will never recover, Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes submitted her formal resignation on Sunday. It is hard to understand what could have possibly motivated this action on Snipes’s part, given her stellar reputation and the fact that she had performed so well in her job for so many years.

Hah, hahahahahaha!!!  Ok, I’m kidding.  Seriously, is there anyone in America who needed firing more urgently than Brenda Snipes? I can’t think of a single person, other than perhaps the genius over at ABC who thought it was a great idea to do a reboot of “Roseanne” without Roseanne. There’s a person who needs firing. But other than him, it’s Brenda Snipes. No question.

Snipes, who is 75, expressed a desire to “spend more time with her family,” which is code for she is going to flee Broward County as quickly as possible in order to say one step ahead of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, which has begun an investigation into all of her machinations related to this election. The grandkids aren’t going to be seeing a whole lot of MeeMaw in the near future.

Oh, hey, and execrable Democrat Senator Bill Nelson finally, at long last conceded his loss to Republican Rick Scott. With Snipes fleeing the coop, any chance of “finding” the additional 13,000 “votes” Nelson would have needed to end up winning fled with her. Nelson, who has apparently had more work done than Cher, will now have plenty of time to go get more hair plugs and another round of plastic surgery to help keep that Batman-villain smile pasted on his face.

So, the latest in a long line of efforts by Florida Democrats to steal an election is over, the main culprit is gone, and the doofuses in Broward County will have to elect another crook to man the position. Because that’s what the Democrats in South Florida do.

Where have all the people gone? – Where the NFL is concerned, they’ve decided to spend their money on more patriotic pursuits.

After two seasons and change of players and even cheerleaders disrespecting the national anthem and flag, combined with a decidedly crappy on-the-field product, the National Football League is experiencing an attendance crisis. Note I did not say “ticket sales” crisis, because, thanks to myriad corporate sponsorships, the tickets are mostly all sold well in advance.

No, the growing problem for the NFL is that fewer and fewer fans are using those tickets, as evidenced by the half-empty stadiums all over the country yesterday. Unlike football at the collegiate and other levels of the game, where almost all tickets are purchased and used by individuals, the lack of fan attendance is not an end-game for the NFL, but a preview of things to come if the League doesn’t improve its product. Because as the tickets lose their fan appeal luster, the corporate sponsors will begin to look for other, more productive venues at which to target their sponsorship dollars.

um, those are “f’s,” Mr. President. – See if you can spot the misspelling in this tweet from President Donald Trump:

We’ll just assume that was a totally innocent typo and move along.

Speaking of presidential tweets, about an hour after posting that little gem, the President had this to say about the Honduran “migrants” down in Tijuana:

Our fake news media now estimates that roughly 2,400 of these “migrants” have arrived in the Mexican border city of Tijuana, where most of them will apply for asylum in the U.S. at that city’s official port of entry. The problem for Tijuana and Mexico is that there is a long line of previous applicants ahead of them, and the wait for a formal hearing will be months down the road.

So, yeah, the city is ill-prepared to handle such a massive invasion from the South, which is why the Mexican government should have ordered its military personnel to stop the fake caravan at its southern border. Sensing a crisis building as a crowd of 2,400 overwhelmingly military-aged males set up a tent city in one their city’s major parks, hundreds of Tijuana residents staged a protest on Sunday, one that ultimately turned into a minor riot that had to be broken up by local police.

Some of the protesters carried signs reading “No Caravan, No Invasion!”.  This caused heads to explode all over CNN headquarters as all the fake journalists there scrambled to invent a narrative in which all of these Mexican citizens are racists.

It’s important to remember here – and President Trump does – that virtually none of these “migrants” are legitimate applicants for U.S. asylum. In fact, given that Mexico has already offered them asylum in that country, none of their applications will be legitimate under U.S. and international law.

These people are economic refugees – they openly admit to the few journalists who bother to ask that they want to enter the U.S. to find work and take advantage of our social welfare system. While Honduras does have gang problems, so do Chicago and Los Angeles and pretty much every other Democrat-run city in the United States. While we as Americans can feel empathy for these people and sad about their country’s lousy economic environment, we as a country have an absolute right to determine who does and does not get to enter our country. This particular mass of thousands who so openly wish to abuse our system and flout our laws does not deserve entry.

If the government of Mexico wishes to solve Tijuana’s problem, it should give these “migrants” one last chance to accept its generous offer of asylum there and put anyone who declines on the next train back to its Southern border. It’s time to stop the media-generated pretense that these scofflaws are well-meaning people, because they aren’t.

If you want to know why you should harden your heart a little bit and adamantly oppose allowing these people into our country, here is the best reason:

That’s why: Because every person who invades our country by illegal means makes it harder for those who, like Billy Idol, choose to immigrate to our country the right way.

Build the wall.

That is all.

John McCain Thumbs His Nose at the Voters One Last Time

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Somehow, I don’t imagine the NFL owners are sweating this one too much. – Radical DNC vice-chairman Keith Ellison says he’s going to boycott the NFL this season over the league’s recent decision to force players to honor the American flag, or remain in the locker room while the national anthem his being played.

Did I mention that Ellison’s a Democrat?  And not just any old Democrat, but one of the Democrat Party’s national leaders?  I wanted to be sure everyone is clear on that:  He’s not just in the Party, but, as one of the Party’s highest leaders, reflective of the values of the Party’s membership.  Democrats – if they didn’t exist, no one in their right minds would dream of inventing them.

First they came for your plastic straws, then they came for your Q-tips. – The increasingly fascist overlords at the European Union have proposed to eliminate plastic items like soda straws, cotton buds, coffee stirs and balloon sticks in a litter reduction effort.  They claim these bans will only take place where “sustainable” (read:  ineffective) alternatives are available, but we all know that’s a damn lie.  Fines and other draconian penalties will follow the new policy within a matter of a few years if not mere months.  This is how leftists implement increasing controls over all our lives.

About that whole Hillary Clinton/Facebook thing… – In response to a question last Friday, the Pantsuit Princess told an audience that she wants to be CEO of Facebook.  Most observers just shrugged that off, saying hey, she was just answering a question, and anyway, that could never happen, so no biggie.

Right?  Well, no.  Not right at all.

We have to remember that the Fainting Felon hasn’t uttered an unscripted word in public in more than 30 years.  She doesn’t make off-hand comments, doesn’t give answers unless there is a purpose behind them.

Nor does she just leave the reporting following her public appearances to chance – her handlers and aides were no doubt meeting with compliant fake reporters afterwards to lobby them to emphasize the parts of the event they want emphasized.  From this event, the only remark by the Coughing Crook that made headlines was the line about wanting to be CEO of Facebook.  This is not an accident.

The evidence lies in how she expanded on her initial answer:

“It’s the biggest news platform in the world,” Clinton said. “Most people in our country get their news, true or not, from Facebook.”

“Now Facebook is trying to take on some of the unexpected consequences of their business model, and I for one hope they get it right because it really is critical to our democracy that people get accurate information on which to make decisions.”

This is the Cackling Crone attempting to condition the public to accept her as an arbiter of what constitutes “accurate information” on social media and/or media platforms.

Now, obviously, the Hacking Hag isn’t going to become Facebook’s CEO, but what about being named to its board of directors?  Or as some sort of special advisor?  Why not?  Or what about being named to some executive or advisory role with some other social media platform?

Facebook has already been loading up its executive staff with ex-Clintonistas and Obama thugs; the Obamas themselves are branching into producing programs for a terribly misguided Nexflix; it’s only natural for the Grasping Grifter to be reaching for her own cut of the pie.

Everything – literally everything – the Clintons say in public is designed to condition the public, either to rationalize something they’ve already done or normalize something one of them is about to do.  Trust me:  this whole “CEO of Facebook” nonsense is no different.

Keeping it all in the family. – If you’ve wondered why Arizona (and the New’s Media’s) Senator John McCain hasn’t done the right thing and given up the seat he’s clung to for 32 long years in the wake of his diagnosis with terminal brain cancer, it’s really pretty simple:  He wants to bequeath the seat to his wife, Cindy McCain.

Basically, it’s all about the state of Arizona’s rules for filling a senate seat that becomes vacant in the midst of a term.  If McCain were to vacate the seat prior to June 1, state law requires that a special election be held this coming November.  If he clings to the seat until that date, Arizona’s Republican Governor Doug Ducey gets to appoint McCain’s replacement, and that person will be allowed to serve unchallenged until a special election is held in November, 2020.

This person will then have more than two years to get him- or herself established in the job and thus enjoy all the advantages of incumbency when 2020 rolls around.  As always, the DC establishment protects its own, and in this instance, its own is John McCain’s wife Cindy, at least if you believe the reporting done in Monday’s story from Newsmax.

For all anyone outside of the McCain clan knows, Cindy McCain might hold political views more in line with Chuck Schumer than those of Mitch McConnell.  At best, we can hope she’s at least a RINO who will, like her husband, vote with the GOP caucus most of the time.  It’s also important to note here that John McCain, due to his tragic illness, has not set foot in Washington DC this entire year, a situation that has frequently left McConnell without an operational majority.  This is dereliction of duty, plain and simple.

So set are McCain, Gov. Ducey and the rest of the GOP’s good ol’ boys (and gals) club on keeping this senate seat in the McCain family that they are willing to deny the voters of Arizona any say whatsoever in determining McCain’s successor for the next two and a half years.  But then, John McCain has been thumbing his nose at the voters for 32 years and they just kept sending him back expecting a different result.  So at the end of the day, this final thumbing of McCain’s nose is exactly what Arizona’s Republican voters deserve.

Just another day in grifting Clintons and clinging McCains America.

That is all.

The Media Just Keeps Faking The News And Donald Trump Loves It

  • These continue to be trying times for the NFL.  While most teams continue to announce their games as “sell outs”, thanks mainly to corporate ticket-buying programs, games all over the NFL were played to sparse attendance on Sunday as actual fans choose to stay home in droves.  This week’s Thursday Night Football game between the Denver Broncos and some other team that no one cares about received the worst Thursday game ratings in years.  The player protests of the national anthem go on and on, though their coverage has been muted by the TV networks desperate to move on from the matter, but the damage has been done.  The sub-moron team owners recently chose to extend the contract of Commissioner Roger Goodell, saddling the league with a raging nitwit-in-charge for another five-year term.
  • If you want another reason why many fans have abandoned a league they supported for many years, all you need do is look at what happened at the end of the game between the Steelers and Patriots on Sunday.  After Tom Brady had led his team on one of his 50+ 4th quarter TD drives to apparently put the game away, the Steelers stormed right back down the field in 3 plays, scoring what appeared to be the winning TD on a pass from QB Ben Roethlisberger to TE Jesse James with 28 seconds left.  This was a play that would have counted as a clear and unambiguous touchdown at any other level of football – college, high school, jr. high or Pop Warner – it was a TD anywhere else on earth as soon as the ball crossed over the plane of the goal line with the receiver in firm possession of it.
  • But, because the receiver lost control of the ball when he slammed to the ground in the end zone, the replay officials called the play an incomplete pass.  Roethlisberger threw an interception on the next play, and the game had been literally given to the Patriots by the officials.  This is the same horrible, idiotic rule that was invoked to hand an apparent Dallas Cowboys playoff win in 2014 to the Green Bay Packers instead.  The fact that this lunatic rule is still on the NFL’s books three years later tells you all you need to know about the morons who run this league.
  • The fake editors and fake reporters at CNN will get this story wrong, too. – The UK Guardian reports that Pope Francis “has criticised journalists who dredge up old scandals and sensationalise the news, saying it’s a “very serious sin” that hurts all involved.”  In response, fake reporters all over the fake news media here in the U.S. were assigned by their fake editors to look into the Pope’s background and see what, if any scandals they could dig up.
  • Speaking of faking the news, the national news media and the Democrat Party coordinated all weekend long to push a fake story about President Trump supposedly planning to fire Robert Mueller.  Faced with having to make the GOP’s pending passage of the largest tax cut in American history the lead story of the weekend, the Democrats and fake news outlets did what they do anytime they’re faced with having to cover a positive story about the Trump Administration – they made a fake story up that they could focus on instead.
  • Late on Friday, the Democrats sent obscure California Congresswoman Jackie Speier out on TV to push out the claim that there was a “rumor” going around congress that the President planned to make a nationally televised speech right before Christmas announcing the firing of the Special Counsel.  Once Speier had made that claim – a claim no one else in congress was making, a claim put out into the public space absent the slightest shred of evidence, a claim made despite the consistent, repeated denials from the White House every time the question has been asked since March – it became the lead story on every fake news broadcast, headline news in every fake news paper across the country, and the lead story on every one of the Sunday morning fake news programs.
  • Thus, for an entire weekend, when responsible, real journalists would have been working to inform their readers and viewers about what this new, gigantic reform of the U.S. tax system – the first such major reform in more than three decades – means to them, the fake news media focused instead on coordinating with the Democrat Party to promote a myth.
  • Granted, there are all sorts of great reasons why Robert Mueller deserves to be fired, including 1) his appointment by Rod Rosenstein was illegitimate to begin with, 2) Mueller’s massive personal conflicts of interest related to the case, 3) his stacking of his staff with an array of hyper-partisan hacks, and 4) his resorting to illegal means of obtaining the Trump Transition team’s email records, to name just a few.
  • Despite all those great reasons that would fully justify Mueller’s firing, there has never been the slightest indication that the President had any plans to do so.  As he has been since Day 1 of his presidency, Donald Trump appears perfectly content to let the media fake up all the fake stories it wants to fake, while he and his administration just keep executing radical change for real Americans with little notice.
  • Winning.  So, so, soooo much winning.

Just another weekend in So, So, Soooo Much Winning! America.

That is all.

Doug Jones’s “Wendy Davis” Campaign Strategy Seems To Have Failed. Who Could’ve Seen That Coming?

  • It snowed so hard at one point during the NFL game in Buffalo between the Bills and the Colts that fans were unable to see the game from midway up in the stands.  Climate “scientists” all over the world who are desperate to secure another government grant blamed it all on “global warming.”
  • Meanwhile in Dallas, after averaging less than 200 yards passing through the first 12 games of the season, Cowboys’ QB Dak Prescott exploited the terrible NY Giants defense for 332 yards in the Cowboys’ 30-10 win.  Climate “scientists” will probably find a way to blame that on “global warming” too.  I mean, it’s responsible for everything else, so…
  • In Jacksonville, Seahawks defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson became so enraged when a fan threw a beer at him that he attempted to climb up into the stands to get at the clown before he was restrained by a Seahawks coach.
  • In Houston, Texans’ QB Tom Savage was seen literally twitching uncontrollably after taking a vicious hit to the head in the first half of the Texans’ game with the San Francisco 49ers.  Despite the NFL’s much-ballyhooed “concussion protocol,” Texans’ head coach Bill O’Brien saw fit to just shove him right back into the game just a few plays later.
  • In stadiums all over the NFL, empty seats were the mode of the day.  This was more typical of stadiums that play host to losing teams, like those in Cleveland, Buffalo, Tampa and Houston, but was also true in Charlotte, where the Panthers beat the Vikings to run their record to 9-4.  At the same time, seat prices for games all over the league continued their season-long collapse, with some seats in Buffalo going on line for $3 (that is not a misprint).
  • No word if NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who has overseen the slow-motion collapse of what once was America’s sport and whose contract the league’s sub-moron collection of owners just renewed for another five years, would try to blame the declining ticket prices and attendance on “global warming,” but he might as well give it a try.  His owners’ group has been lapping up his BS for a decade now, and would probably just lap that up, too.
  • In its final average of polls in the Alabama senate special election, RealClearPolitics shows Republican Roy Moore with a 3.8% lead over Democrat Doug Jones.  Moore’s lead in the polls taken during the last two weeks is 5.3%.  All of which means that Moore will most likely win the actual election by 7-8% at the end of the day.
  • Once Moore has won the election and been seated in the Senate, the GOP will have to figure out what to do with him.  Blaming it all on “global warming” probably is not an option in this case.
  • On Sunday, the fake reporters covering Moore’s campaign took to wondering where he’s been the last few days, when he hasn’t made a single public campaign appearance.  Meanwhile, Jones decided it would be smart for him to bring down a former governor of Massachusetts and a sitting senator from New Jersey to help him win a statewide race in Alabama.  This does not strike me as a winning strategy for some reason.  Go figure.
  • But Jones has been pretty much tone deaf throughout this race, running essentially the same campaign strategy that Democrat Wendy Davis ran in the 2014 Texas gubernatorial race against Republican Greg Abbott.  Davis, if you remember, ran a campaign based on abortion-on-demand, open borders and government control of everything, and brought in a bunch of leftwing Obama minions to “help”.  That strategy, such as it was, resulted in Davis getting 38.9% of the vote vs. Abbott’s 59.3%.  Granted, Democrats haven’t won a single statewide election in Texas since 1994, but that was an epic blowout even by Lone Star State standards.
  • In deploying essentially the same strategy as Davis, Jones will come closer in his race against Moore, but that doesn’t mean he ran a smarter race than Davis did.  It just means he a lot more help from the fake news media, and from his opponent.
  • Finally, think about this:  If you’re a “leader” in the national Democrat Party, and you see that you can’t even win a senate race in which the Republican has been the target of the single most focused fake news media hit job in modern U.S. history, how are you feeling about your chances of winning control of either house of congress in the 2018 mid-terms?  Two words:  Not very good.  Ok, that’s three, but still…

Just another day in it’s not looking good for the Democrats America.

That is all.

Liberals Politicize Everything, Especially Sexual Harassment

Today’s Campaign Update

  • The people of Atlanta did the smart thing today with their decrepit, run-down old domed football stadium:  They imploded it.  Hopefully, this will serve as an object lesson to the people of Houston, who keep spending millions of dollars on goofy schemes to turn the Astrodome into a parking lot or a hotel or a park.  Stop the madness, people!
  • Hey, y’all, Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch actually stood for the national anthem on Sunday!  Wait, what’s that?  The game was played in Mexico City and it was the Mexican national anthem?  He stood for that after sitting on the bench while the Star Spangled Banner was played?  Is Marshawn Lynch a Mexican citizen?  No?  Well, did Mexico do something to help him become the fabulously wealthy ignoramus he is today?  No?  I’m so confused.  Let’s move on.
  • Ok, but there is good news today:  Charles Manson finally died.  So that’s something.  The only shame of it is that he got to live to the ripe old age of 83 before it happened.  Better late than never.
  • He isn’t resigning his senate seat over his sexual harassment scandal, but I’m sure you ladies will all be thrilled to know that Al Franken is promising to do “a lot of reflecting” – according to his spokesman – over the holidays.  Because, you know, if he can just lay low and “reflect” for the next week or so, he’s hoping this will all have blown over.  And given that he’s a Democrat, and his buddies at all our fake news media outlets are going to coordinate efforts and talking points with him, he might succeed.
  • Why are any random gatherings of Democrats inevitably such cesspits of sexual harassment? – A woman in New York is charging that Governor Andrew Cuomo looked the other way as one of his employees sexually intimidated and harassed her for years:
  • “In a shocking Manhattan federal court lawsuit filed Saturday, Lisa Marie Cater alleges former Empire State Development Corp. regional president William “Sam” Hoyt got her a job at the DMV and then leveraged it to “manipulate, sexually harass and sexually assault” her.The bombshell complaint — which names Cuomo and Hoyt as defendants — says Cater contacted Cuomo’s office no less than six times but met “deliberate indifference.”
  • In all seriousness, we now have so many sexual harassment charges popping up against Democrat officeholders and Democrat supporters in Hollywood on a daily basis that it has become impossible to keep up with.  Yes, the fake news media is myopically focused on the allegations against Republican senate candidate Roy Moore, but he is without question the exception to the emerging rule that sexual harassment of women, much like voter fraud, is almost solely the province of liberal Democrats.
  • What is it in the liberal male mind that makes them think it’s OK to abuse women?  Do they think that, because they put up the public pretense of supporting “women’s issues” like abortion on demand that that somehow gives them a get out of jail free card when they try to force themselves on the nearest person wearing a skirt?
  • Well, maybe they do.  What is it about the liberal women who enable this kind of behavior in liberal men?  Hillary Clinton has spent decades handling her husband’s myriad “bimbo eruptions”, brutally attacking any woman who charged him with abuse.  When the Monica Lewinsky scandal erupted, Gloria Steinem famously penned a NY Times op/ed piece in support of the abuser, not of the women who wanted to be believed.  Why?  Because, as Steinem admitted directly in her piece, Clinton was “right” on the issues.
  • That was 20 years ago, but this enabling behavior continues in liberal women today.  Over this past weekend, we had the spectacle of the liberal nitwit celebrity Lena Dunham, who has spent the last decade shrieking (she always seems to be shrieking) that women who accuse men of this behavior must be believed, writing a letter in support of the man, when a writer for her TV show happened to be the one accused of harassment.  See, the woman must be believed, unless the woman is accusing someone Lena Dunham likes.
  • And then there are all these women in the fake news media who have been making up excuses for Al Franken’s horrid behavior over the last several days, because, like Clinton, he’s in favor of killing babies at full term.
  • So, what is it in the minds of liberal men who think it’s fine to abuse women, and what is it in the minds of liberal women who want to keep enabling them?  Easy:  Politics.  When you think it through to its logical conclusion, the answer is crystal clear.

Just another day in liberals politicize everything America.

That is all.

NFL Owners: The Dumbest Collection Of 32 People In America

Today’s Campaign Update

  • Be honest, you’ve thought it for a long time:  The owners of teams in the National Football League are, as a collective group, not very bright.  The ham-handed way they and their mouthpiece, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, have handled – or actually, failed to handle – the ongoing player protests of the National Anthem and American Flag proves conclusively that their group decision-making skills rise no higher than those of that herd of cattle out on Farm Road 888.
  • It’s not that they lack intelligence as individuals – they are, as individuals, mostly highly intelligent people.  Yes, some – like the Luries, the Maras, the Irsays, the Halases and the Krafts – are legacy NFL names who inherited their respective franchises and great wealth from their parents.  But most, like Jerry Jones, Tom Benson, Robert McNair and Stan Kroenke, are very smart business people who who earned their money as entrepreneurs.  These are highly-intelligent people who are highly-motivated to maximize their profits, and have long histories of success in doing so.
  • Yet, you put these people into a group setting, and they appear to have no better decision-making skills than the average 3rd-grader.  If you want proof of that, look no further than the ongoing negotiations to extend Goodell’s current contract with the League, where he has now been Commissioner for a dozen years.
  • In those dozen years, Goodell has already managed to loot the NFL’s owners for more than $200 million in various forms of compensation, and his compensation for the current year is an unbelievable $30 million.  So, this collection of owners have already made this clown fabulously wealthy for doing a job that could be performed extremely well by any of 10,000 senior executives in this country, most any of whom would be more than happy to take it on for a fraction of what Goodell is currently knocking down.
  • But the NFL’s owners appear to have literally no interest at all in even talking about finding someone else to take the job, despite Goodell’s utter failure to deal with the anthem protests, which have cost the league about 20% of its viewing audience over the past two seasons, or the myriad other systemic issues that are slowly killing the NFL’s brand.  Nor is there any talk about making Goodell take a cut in pay for his rank incompetence, with the discussions simply centered around how long an extension to grant Goodell, and how much of a raise he gets.
  • Even Dallas Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones, who last week threatened to sue the league  if its Compensation Committee approved the most current draft offer to Goodell, isn’t talking about any reduction in overall compensation for the Commish:  He merely wants to make the contract provisions based more on performance than is currently the case.
  • As for Goodell, he obviously completely understands the brand of ownership nitwittery he is dealing with here.  We know that because, according to ESPN, he recently submitted contract demands that would give him a huge raise – to $49.5 million per year – lifetime use of a private jet, and lifetime health insurance coverage for he and his entire family.
  • Some owners, Jones included, appear to understand the threat to the league that extending Goodell’s contract truly does represent at this point.  As one owner told ESPN, “The problem is, no one is talking about games anymore.  It’s about concussions, Jones vs. Goodell, [Ezekiel Elliott’s suspension], the anthem. No one is talking about football. It’s just killing the game.”
  • Yes, it is.  Or rather, Goodell and his inability to properly address all the various controversies swirling around the NFL, is killing the game.  Goodell is not only not a solution to these various problems, he is without doubt a major part of the league’s problem at this point.
  • And yet, this feckless owners group appears unalterably on a course to extend their problem’s contract, probably through the year 2024, and give him a huge raise for being such a problem to boot.  That is almost too stupid for words.

Just another day in dimwitted NFL owners group America.

That is all.

Tales Of Madmen And Mad Women Dominate Today’s News

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Five weeks ago, 58 concert attendees gunned down by a madman in Las Vegas.  One week ago, eight pedestrians and cyclists run down by a madman in New York City.  Yesterday, 26 church-goers killed by a madman in Texas.  God rest all of their souls, and let’s hope this latest mass killing receives the thorough and honest investigation the victims and their families deserve.
  • Speaking of mad men, we have this bizarre story of Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul having been attacked by his crazy liberal neighbor while he was mowing his lawn.  Sen. Paul suffered five broken ribs in the attack and will be home-bound for the foreseeable future.  Anyone who has suffered broken ribs knows that any movement can produce intense pain, thus eliminating any chance of the Senator returning to Washington, DC anytime soon.
  • The attacker, some guy named Rene Boucher,  was arrested by local police and charged with just misdemeanor assault resulting in minor injury.  What the hell?  Five broken ribs – including 3 displaced fractures which can cause major internal injuries – may seem minor to the Bowling Green Police Department, but they wouldn’t feel that way to anyone who has had to suffer through such an injury.  The Bowling Green police aren’t saying if politics was a motivation for the assault, but it sure seems like politics might be playing a role in the nature of the charges.
  • Just another reason why I’ll always be a Dodgers fan – Vin Scully is not a madman.  But the greatest baseball announcer who ever lived and 67-year voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers had this to say on Sunday when asked about his reaction to the ongoing protests of the national anthem by NFL players and coaches:”I have only one personal thought really. And I am so disappointed,” Scully said at an event in Pasadena, Calif. “And I used to love during the fall and winter to watch the NFL on Sunday. And it’s not that I’m some great patriot. I was in the Navy for a year. Didn’t go anywhere, didn’t do anything. But I have overwhelming respect and admiration for anyone who puts on a uniform and goes to war.”

“So the only thing I can do in my little way is not to preach,” he continued. “I will never watch another NFL game.”  Getting the message yet, Mr. Goodell?  Probably not.

  • Long-time Democrat political hack Donna Brazile isn’t a mad man, but she sure sounded like a mad woman in her interview on ABC’s “This Week” Sunday fake news program: “Those telling me to shut up … I tell them, ‘Go to hell.’ I’m gonna tell my story,” she said.   Obviously, the pushback from all the Clinton and Obama shills related to Ms. Brazile’s “tell-all” book about the Clinton theft of the 2016 Democrat presidential nomination is getting pretty intense.
  • The fall-out from excerpts from Ms. Brazile’s book provoked the stooges who ran the Hillary Clinton campaign to publish an “open letter” that contained the following unintentionally hilarious passage:  “We were shocked to learn the news that Donna Brazile actively considered overturning the will of the Democratic voters by attempting to replace Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine as the Democratic Presidential and Vice Presidential nominees. It is particularly troubling and puzzling that she would seemingly buy into false Russian-fueled propaganda, spread by both the Russians and our opponent, about our candidate’s health.”  Even in expressing their outrage over a book, these clowns feel the need to prop up their pathetic Russia collusion fantasy.  They are nothing if not consistent.
  • One of the excerpts from Ms. Brazile’s book seems particularly odd to many observers.  In it she claims that the still-unsolved and very suspicious murder of DNC staffer Seth Rich “haunted her”, causing her to make sure she kept her shades closed at DNC headquarters because she feared snipers.  Given that the DNC’s official position has been to support the Washington, DC police department’s theory that Mr. Rich’s killing was just a “botched robbery” – even though literally nothing had been stolen off of Mr. Rich – it seems odd that the DNC’s chairman at the time would live in fear for her own safety in the aftermath.
  • Then again, if I were engaged in business dealings with the Clintons, I’d probably keep my shades closed, too.  Wouldn’t you?

Just another day in madmen and mad women America.

That is all.

Roger Goodell: Captain of the NFL Titanic

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Everyone does understand that the ridiculous allegations yesterday against the President by the circus clown-ish congresswoman Frederica Wilson from Florida (of course) were simply Democrat-instigated noise to deflect media attention away from the Russia Uranium story, right?  Right.  Let’s move on.
  • Speaking of Democrat-instigated noise designed to give the fake news media an excuse to ignore the Russia Uranium story, Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee chose to re-litigate Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ testimony from his confirmation hearing seven months ago when he appeared before that committee yesterday.  Reiliable sleazeballs Al Franken, Patrick Leahy and Dianne Feinstein led the charge, asking not a single question about anything current or related to anything anyone cares about anymore.  Sessions made the three senators look like fools, but that’s really not difficult to do.  The questioning served its purpose, as fake reporters all over Washington and New York City breathed huge sighs of relief, knowing they’d be able to file stories on the hearing without mentioning anything about Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama or the bribery scheme they became involved in with the Russians back in 2009-10.
  • But in fairness to those fake journalists, there wasn’t much to report from this hearing on the Russia Uranium scandal.  Chairman Chuck Grassley brought it up with Sessions, but as soon as Sessions told him he would not comment on any “ongoing investigation”, Grassley dropped the matter like a hot potato.  So I suppose the one smidgen of news in that is that the useless Attorney General appeared to at least confirm that there is an ongoing investigation of the matter within the Justice Department.  Which, let’s be honest, would represent a dramatic departure from his behavior towards all the Obama-era lawlessness during his first seven months in the job.
  • Speaking of people who are not fit to be in their current job brings us straight to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.  Fresh off his mid-season meetings with NFL owners and players in New York, Goodell told the assembled press that they had talked and talked and talked about all sorts of “social justice” stuff and the national anthem and decided that….wait for it….NOTHING WILL CHANGE.  I swear I don’t make this stuff up.
  • That’s right.  Goodell said that while he and the owners would “prefer” all players to stand for the national anthem and honor the country that has made them all so fabulously wealthy, he and his feckless group of owners will make no rules changes to require them to do so.  Thus, the NFL will continue to fine players who don’t tuck their shirt in, who don’t wear their socks the correct height, who use towels that don’t meet league regulations, who use too much stick-em on their fingers, who are late to team meetings, who touch the poor quarterback in the wrong place or hit him too hard and for hundreds of other picky rules violations, but they just aren’t able to bring themselves to enforce a little decorum on the sidelines during a ceremony that honors those who have fought and died for our country.
  • The best part of Goodell’s comments came when proved he can’t count, saying that “The fact is that we have about half a dozen players that are protesting.”  Hell, you had twice that many New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens taking a knee this past weekend, and dozens of others doing the same in other games played before half-empty stadiums and depressed TV audiences around the league.
  • The Commissioner was so, so proud, though of all the touchy-feely discussions he and the players had about social justice matters about which NFL fans don’t give a damn.  “They’re talking about criminal justice reform, whether it’s bail reform. Whether it’s talking about mandatory sentencing. They’re talking about changes that, I think, will make our communities better — that there’s bipartisan support for and that need focus.”  Yes, I did not make that up – the Commmissioner of the NFL is suddenly pretending to be an expert on which issues have “bipartisan support”.  Holy crap.
  • Roger Goodell obviously doesn’t understand it, but he is the captain of the Titanic at this point.  (Come to think of it, the Captain of the Titanic didn’t understand his problem, either, until he ran into that iceberg.)   His league’s audience is dropping like a rock, his stewardship of the league is an abject disaster, and he has completely lost favor with the support base for the political party that is, by the way, the vast majority political party across the nation at this point.
  • His business depends heavily on its anti-trust exemption, for which there is literally no good justification at all at this time, and on the very favorable tax treatments it receives at all government levels.  Mr. Goodell appears to have no understanding at all of the political peril his league faces if these protests against our country continue.
  • That iceberg is sitting out there right now, just over the horizon, and Roger Goodell has his Titanic of a league headed right for it.

Just another day in clueless NFL commissioner America.

That is all.

So You’ve Screwed Up Your Life? Blame Trump!

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Is it just me, or does it seem like everybody – and I do mean everybody – who has done something to screw up their life in any way, shape or form has taken to blaming President Donald J. Trump as a coping mechanism for their own failures?  Think about it.
  • Take Harvey Weinstein as an example – what was this repugnant tub of goo’s first instinct when the NYTimes published its expose’ on his quarter century of abusing women?  If you remember, he thought he could innoculate himself from any fallout from his 100% leftwing Hollywood peers by taking a leave of absence from his company so he could dedicate himself to fighting the NRA (virtue signal related to the Las Vegas massacre that had taken place six days earlier) and …wait for it…Donald Trump!
  • But – oops! – it turns out that promising to go around playing the “Blame Trump” card doesn’t inoculate you against 25 years of soiling potted plants and blackmailing ambitious young ingenues into having sex with you in exchange for movie roles.  It turns out that even Hollywood has some standards, and who could have ever guessed that?
  • Then there’s Bowe Bergdahl, that traitorous Army deserter who Barack Obama and Susan Rice consider to be a great American “hero”.  Obama thought so highly of Bergdahl that he was willing to trade five terrorist scum in order to get this “hero”  – who had cost six truly brave American soldiers their lives as they searched Afghanistan trying to find him – released by the Taliban.  After pleading guilty to desertion in his court martial, Bergdahl said he was doing so because he felt he could not get a fair trial due to things said by …wait for it… Donald Trump!  Yeah, none of it’s your fault, bud.
  • NFL Football players and owners – The pre-game protests by NFL players of the flag and national anthem went on for well over a year without a word about it coming from the very busy mouth of candidate Trump or President Trump.  NFL ratings were tanking and game attendance dying throughout the 2016 season as a result, and that tanking continued into the 2017 season before the President had anything to say about it.  But when the President decided to go off on these players and owners and commissioner Roger Goodell, why, suddenly it was all about Trump.
  • The players, who let’s be honest, really had pretty much no idea why they were kneeling out there other than some vague multi-millionaire game player’s notion of being “oppressed”, suddenly decided that their demonstrations were all about Trump.  Yeah, that’s the ticket!  Many of the owners joined in because, well, they just had to show “solidarity” with their players because…because, ummm, welllll…because TRUMP!  Yeah, because Trump! That’s what it is!  Meanwhile, Goodell is thrilled by it all because everyone’s blaming Trump instead of him.  The Trump boogeyman works for all parties in this one.
  • The Most Corrupt Woman In America – Then there’s our very favorite leftwing slinger of nonsense and sleaze, Hillary Rotten, er, Rodham Clinton.  This pathetic woman has parlayed abject corruption into a net worth of more than $200 million, and has spent the year blaming her 2016 election loss and everything else that is wrong with the world on – who else? – President Trump.  Even the broken toe she claims to have suffered on Saturday while running up the stairs is no doubt the President’s fault – the vodka and diet Dr. Pepper had nothing to do with it.
  • Then there is San Juan’s Crazy Little Marxist Mayor, Carmen Cruz, who has now completely discarded all pretense of not being a communist and has taken to dressing up as Che Guevara in her press availabilities.  The government of Puerto Rico in general and in San Juan in particular has been a cesspit of corruption forever, and Ms. Cruz has done nothing to remedy any of that.  The Island’s infrastructure, thanks in large part to government officials siphoning off money for themselves and their friends – as all good Marxists do – was in horrible shape before Hurricane Maria hit, and was basically destroyed completely by the storm.
  • Despite the fact that the U.S. government has come into the island with literally thousands of military, FEMA and other recovery workers, massive amounts of supplies, and more generators than anywhere else on the face of the earth, progress has been slowed by the fact that the local trucker’s union decided this tragedy was a great time to go on strike, an action the crazy little Mayor supports.  So, when the people of your island are suffering mainly due to your own corruption and ideological stupidity, what do you do?  Why, you get in front of any CNN camera you can find and blame Trump!  Works like charm.
  • Finally, there’s the repugnant John McCain, literally the worst person who has ever served in the United States Senate.  In receiving some “Liberty Medal” from his ideological sympatico Joe Biden on Monday, McCain had this to say:  “To abandon the ideals we have advanced around the globe” and “refuse the obligations of international leadership … for the sake of some half-baked, spurious nationalism cooked up by people who would rather find scapegoats than solve problems” is “As unpatriotic as an attachment to any other tired dogma of the past that Americans consigned to the ash heap of history.”
  • So, putting America  and Americans first, ahead of McCain’s and Biden’s globalist, open borders ideology, is “unpatriotic”, in McCain’s view.  He didn’t say which government – the U.N. perhaps? – it is “unpatriotic” towards.
  • But this is McCain’s swan song, blaming Trump for preventing him from “solving problems.”  Think about that – can you think of a single problem John McCain ever solved in his entire 30+ years in government?  Neither can I.
  • That’s not Trump’s fault.  Trump’s just the boogeyman.

Just another day in Blame Trump! America.

That is all.

Goodell Moves Far Too Late To Cure The Greatest Self-Inflicted Wound in Sports History

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Tired of winning yet?  Part I – The stock market indexes all closed at all-time record highs on Tuesday, marking about the 7,953rd time that has happened since Donald Trump was elected to the presidency.  (yawn)
  • Tired of winning yet?  Part II – (This one is personal to me.)  The U.S. soccer team failed to make it into the upcoming World Cup competition because the team fielded by the most powerful nation on earth could not defeat the team from…wait for it…wait for it…Trinidad and Tobago!  I am so relieved!  Now I won’t have to suffer through a year of half the people I know doing a bunch of virtue signaling about how much they just love this sport to which they pay literally no attention at all in 3 out of every 4 years.  And I won’t have to see highlights of players from countries I’ve never even heard of faking major knee injuries so they can draw a yellow card, and then jumping up after 30 seconds and running off the field.  And I won’t have to hear anyone tell me what a ‘beautiful’ and ‘exciting’ sport this incredibly tiresome, unendingly boring, tedious wreck of a game is.  Thank God for this favor – I am incredibly grateful.  Go, Trinidad and Tobago!
  • Tired of winning yet?  Part III – The U.S. Supreme Court dismissed the challenge to President Trump’s travel ban late Tuesday after months of idiotic and baseless litigation instigated by leftist Democrat state attorney generals and supported by leftist Obama appointee federal judges who hold no respect for the constitution.  Cool.
  • Tired of winning yet?  Part IV – A few hours after President Donald J. Trump (I never get tired of typing that) issued a tweet early Tuesday morning questioning the current tax subsidies received by the National Football League, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell sent a memo to all 32 league team owners instructing them that “all players should stand for the national anthem.”  Coincidence?  I think not.
  • Goodell’s move, of course, comes a little bit more than a year too late.  It comes after the NFL has lost around 20% of its audience since currently unemployed ex-49ers QB Colin Kaepernick first did his attention-seeking kneel-down during the anthem at the behest of his marxist girlfriend on August 26, 2016.   It comes after Goodell and the 32 owners stood silently by doing nothing as Kaepernick’s silly sideshow act slowly gained imitators at other teams as the 2016 season went along, and after the dam literally broke and disrespecting the flag and anthem became a league-wide fad this season.
  • Goodell’s move comes after the NFL’s reputation as “America’s Game”, a title it had held for at least 40 years, had been tossed into the trash can, as the league has now been surpassed in public approval by both Major League Baseball and, at least temporarily, by the National Basketball Association.  His memo comes after a month of acrimony between the league and the President of the United States, who has repeatedly urged the league to force the players to show a little respect for the country that has made them so fabulously wealthy and famous, and following Sunday’s walk-out of a game between the Colts and 49ers by Vice President Mike Pence.  Goodell’s memo comes only after NFL teams all over the country have played games before half-empty stadiums that used to be host to standing-room-only crowds week after week.
  • The sad part of all of this, if you’re an NFL fan like I used to be, is that every bit of this could have been completely avoided had Goodell, on August 27, 2016, made a phone call to the idiot owner of the San Francisco 49ers, and instructed him to bench a single player for a single game if he would not stand for the national anthem.  But Goodell is a progressive moron, and didn’t have the sense to do that.  Because of that, we have for the last 13 months witnessed what is without a doubt the greatest self-inflicted wound in the history of organized sports, a wound from which the NFL may never really recover.  Tough.
  • Meanwhile, in Harvey Weinstein news… – The proverbial dam really broke Tuesday on the Harvey Weinstein scandal, as all the no-guts celebrities and politicians who knew about this scumbag all along but lacked the courage to do anything about it suddenly found their voices now that the big Hollywood muckety-muck no longer holds any power over them.  Most of them still lied about the matter, claiming to be ‘shocked’ and ‘appalled’, but they all knew.  Hell, Weistein’s behavior towards women was such common knowledge that Seth McFarlane joked about it on national TV during the Oscar ceremonies in 2013, and Tina Fey was writing gag lines about it on the TV show 30 Rock.
  • But as I told you a couple of days ago, Weinstein will be right back working in Hollywood within a year.  Right on cue, as his world was seemingly crumbling around him, he told the people at the New York Post’s Page 6 that he was flying off to a rehab clinic somewhere in Europe (Hey, maybe Roman Polanski can be his therapist!) and promised them that he was already planning on resuming his career in 2018.
  • If you doubt he’ll be able to achieve that, well, just watch.  Weinstein is a leftist icon, and the political left will always try to rehabilitate its icons regardless of how badly they act.  Hell, they re-elected Bill Clinton to the presidency for a second term, do you think they’ll just toss a major donor like good ol’ Harvey aside because he abused a few women?  Don’t kid yourselves.  These are progressives we’re talking about here.  No amount of depravity is too much for these people.

Just another day in Trump just keeps winning America.

That is all.

Weinstein Will Be Back Winning Awards Within A Year

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Prediction time – Serial woman abuser and all-around big Hollywood muckety-muck Harvey Weinstein will enter himself into some sort of sex pervert “rehab” program, come out of it within 90 days “fully cured”, and within a year be given some sort of “courage” award by Meryl Streep at one of the 12 dozen or so annual Hollywood awards programs.  Nothing is too absurd or depraved for these people.
  • Hollywood lawyer Lisa Bloom, who spent four days making up excuses for Weinstein’s 25 year reign of terror, abruptly announced on Saturday that she would no longer be representing the clown.  It seems that even Ms. Bloom, the daughter of the completely ethics-devoid, attention-seeking hack Gloria Allred, could not stomach inventing fake talking points for this guy.
  • Wait.  Lanny Davis has a “line”? – But wait, it gets even better:  Even the shameless political hack Lanny Davis announced on Saturday that he was pulling out of Weinstein’s team of advisers.  Lanny Davis has spent the last 25 years making up fake talking points for Bill and Hillary Clinton, folks.  This guy had no problem whatsoever making up fake talking points slandering Bill Clinton’s many female victims, had zero issue with lying about Bill and Hill’s illegal use of the FBI files of more than 1,000 of their political enemies, had no worry at all about prevaricating in defense of Hillary’s illegal email server.  But making up lies for Harvey Weinstein, well, that just crosses Lanny Davis’s line.  You just can’t make this stuff up.
  • We’ve heard a lot over the last four days about how “powerful” Weinstein is, but here’s the truth about that:  Harvey Weinstein has always only been “powerful” to those who want something from him, either professionally or politically.  Everyone in Hollywood and the Democrat Party was willing, for more than a quarter of a century, to simply look the other way and ignore his personal behavior because they all wanted something from him.  And everyone in Hollywood – other than Ashley Judd, whose career is basically over anyway – is remaining silent on the matter because they all still hope they might get something from Weinstein in the future, after he gets “cured” and makes his big comeback.  These people are disgusting, and normal Americans should stop supporting what they do with our money.
  • Speaking of disgusting people normal Americans should stop supporting with our money… – A new Winston Group survey released on Saturday indicates that the National Football League has, in the span of less than three months, fallen from the most popular major sport in the United States to the least favorite, falling behind both Major League Baseball and the National Basketball Association.  Of course, this poll comes before the beginning of the NBA season, and there is no telling what sorts of spectacles we are go see from players in that sport – and from San Antonio Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich – during the playing of the national anthem this fall.  But at least for now, the NFL has become the sport non-grata for the average American.  Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of people.
  • And here’s a group of disgusting people normal Americans have already stopped supporting. – If you have wondered why Donald Trump’s public approval rating has steadily moved upwards over the past couple of months despite the withering nightly assault on his character from the networks’ current silly group of late-night talk show hosts, wonder no more.  It’s because nobody actually watches this silly group of late night talk show hosts anymore.  The Washington Examiner points out that taken all together, the shows starring Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert were watched by an average of barely 8 million viewers last week.  Just a few years ago, Jay Leno by himself was averaging more than 6 million viewers each night, with David Letterman trailing very closely behind.
  • One would think that sooner or later someone at these networks might wake up and think, hey, maybe it’s not such a great idea to intentionally insult half of our potential audience every night, because those people buy all the junk our advertisers sell, too.  But the evidence at hand indicates that light bulb moment won’t be happening anytime soon.

Just another day in ordinary people voting with their pocketbooks and remote controls America.

That is all.

Donald Trump Is The Best Unmasker Ever, Let Me Tell You

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

It occurs to me this morning that, in the midst of all the hoopla over the unmasking of Trump campaign participants by the evil Obama minions, Donald Trump, both as candidate and as President, has actually perpetrated the greatest unmasking campaign in American history. Bear with me here – this is going to take about 700 words to explain:

  • Hey, what if the NFL had a game and all the players stood for the national anthem?  I didn’t watch, but apparently that’s what happened on Thursday night, as the backlash from fans to all the idiotic kneeling nonsense has created a sudden wave of patriotic panic, er, fervor among NFL players and executives.
  • Sorry guys, but it’s really just too late.  You’ve allowed your social justice warrior players to dismiss about 20% of your fan base over the past two seasons, and most of them just aren’t coming back.  Your lame explanations for your unpatriotic actions fell on deaf ears for one simple reason:  The blue collar, middle class, very patriotic guys and gals who make up the biggest part of your fan base are becoming increasingly “woke”, as all the kids and SJWs like to put it, thanks mainly to the guy they put in the White House.  In other words, you’ve been unmasked by Donald Trump.
  • That public woke-ness means that the standard lines of BS propaganda aren’t going to work on your fans like they used to, and it will probably take you the rest of this season and maybe longer to figure that out.  By the time you do figure that out, your players’ antics, leftist commentators and boring, tedious games will probably have alienated another 10-15% of your previous audience, and your contract re-negotiations with the TV networks in 2020 will become a horrifying situation for you.  And that’s good, because you richly deserve the fate you have created for yourselves.  You’ve earned it.
  • Speaking of standard lines of BS not working on the average American, The Washington Post reports on a new study conducted by professors at Cal-Berkeley and Stanford that reveals what anyone who really watched Donald Trump’s campaign flogging of Hillary Clinton and her billion dollar ad machine already knows:  that “Advertising and campaign contacts have almost no measurable persuasive impact, at least in general elections.”  Go figure.
  • Throughout the 2015 and 2016 campaign, I repeatedly pointed out that the reason why we saw literally every political professional and advertising executive rooting for Hillary was due to the simple fact that Donald Trump was proving them to be a waste of time and money.  He wasn’t using these people, other than a revolving door of a handful of senior advisors, because he didn’t need them.
  • Trump’s whole campaign consisted of getting up at 4 in the morning, doing telephone interviews on Fox, CNN and MSNBC before Hillary’s alarm clock had gone off, then hopping on his jet and flying off for 2 or 3 raucus campaign rallies in different states every day.  By noon each day, Trump had personally touched more voters than Hillary’s pervasive, ubiquitous advertising budget could touch in a week.
  • So the DC political campaign and advertising class hated Trump – and still hates him – because he clearly demonstrated that they are pretty much all a waste of time and money.  He totally unmasked them.
  • This new study further reinforces what Trump already knew:  “The best estimate for the persuasive effects of campaign contact and advertising — such as mail, phone calls, and canvassing — on Americans’ candidate choices in general elections is zero,” Kalla and Broockman write. “Our best guess for online and television advertising is also zero, but there is less evidence” in these cases.
  • The GOP runoff election in Alabama this week provides further support for this conclusion.  Luther Strange was able to out-spend Roy Moore by about 6 to 1 on advertising, thanks to huge injections of money from the DC political class.  But he lost by 10% of the vote despite the supposed advantages of incumbency and influence and even the wrong-headed endorsement from President Trump for the simple reason that he was identified by the voters as being a tool of that same DC political class.  In other words, he had been unmasked.
  • The big takeaway here is this:  The main reason why President Trump is so viscerally hated by so many different classes of people is because he has systematically shown the public their true nature.  The NFL hates him because he’s called out their league’s utter lack of patriotism; the fake news media hates him because he’s called out its rampant dishonesty; the Democrats hate him because he’s called them out for their anti-American mendacity; the establishment Republicans hate him because he’s called out their laziness and ineffectiveness; and the DC political campaign and advertising class hates him because he’s revealed their irrelevance.
  • It’s the greatest unmasking in American political history.  Real Americans should be very thankful to the President for his willingness to take the time to do it.

Just another day in unmasked America.

That is all.

Dear NFL: Please Quit Acting Out So We Can Talk About Something Important

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Oh, my, where to begin?  I really wanted to talk about something other than the NFL’s increasingly tiresome “take a knee” follies, but they remain inescapable for one more day.

  • Let’s start with Cleveland basketball star Lebron James, who told reporters yesterday that the reason his current home state voted for Donald Trump in 2016 was that “I don’t think a lot of the voters was (sic) educated.”  For the record, Lebron James went straight from high school to the NBA and never looked back.
  • Longtime race-baiter Hillary Clinton is back to her race-baiting ways, accusing President Donald Trump (who else?) of being a racist for his comments against NFL players disrespecting the American flag.  “He doesn’t criticize Vladimir Putin, but he criticizes black athletes,” the disciple of racist senators J. William Fulbright and Robert Byrd commented at one stop on her book tour.
  • Most leading Democrats are wishing these days that Ms. Clinton would just shut up and go away, but she at least understands that the Democrat Party as it is currently constituted was built on shameless race-baiting and cannot survive going forward without this sort of constant effort to divide the country along racial lines.  The Democrats are already little more than a regional party whose base is overwhelmingly focused in America’s large inner cities, where the African American population tends to make up a much higher percentage of the overall total.  Ms. Clinton understands that the day the Democrats start getting less than 90% of the black vote is the day it basically disappears entirely.  Thus, her comments yesterday were actually directed, for once, at helping the party in her own demented way rather than her normal shameless self-aggrandizement at everyone else’s expense.  Go figure.
  • Speaking of the NFL, there was actually a game last night in between all the league’s and ESPN’s political activities, and the Dallas Cowboys – America’s Team – put a new twist on the whole “take a knee” deal.  Feeling a burning need to engage in some sort of “unity demonstration” (because after all, everybody else was doing it), the team, along with the coaches and owner Jerry Jones, lined up on the field prior to the national anthem, and, when they were certain the cameras were all focused on them, took a knee for about three seconds as the boos from the Arizona Cardinals’ crowd rained down upon them.  *sigh*
  • To their credit, the team, owner and coaches then backed their silly butts off to the sideline and actually all stood at attention while a field-size American flag was unfurled and the national anthem was sung in a quite inspired way by pop singer Jordin Sparks.  Good for them, and for her.
  • The one positive out of all of this is that, after about a 20 year hiatus, the leftwing networks who cover the game have started televising the national anthem again.  God bless America.
  • The President had his own Twitter take on this deal – because, of course he did – tweeting first that “The booing at the NFL football game last night, when the entire Dallas team dropped to its knees, was loudest I have ever heard. Great anger”.  Well…yep.
  • In his next 140 character comment, the President had basically the same reaction to it all that I did:  “But while Dallas dropped to its knees as a team, they all stood up for our National Anthem. Big progress being made-we all love our country!”
  • Sadly, given the disgusting way most other teams had allowed their players to disrespect the flag, the anthem, the veterans’ honor guards and the country without negative consequence, the way in which the Cowboys handled the whole thing in a unified way, with the entire organization participating, actually was “Big progress”, as President Trump said.
  • We can hope that, now that all these players and teams have had their 15 minutes of attention and various forms of “unity demonstrations”, they might now get back to just shutting up and playing football.  But that is probably too much to ask, which more than anything else shows exactly what is really at the base of all of this:  the players’ desperation for attention.
  • I have no use for Colin Kaepernick, but at least he was protesting against something specific and real when he was doing his one-man “look at me” act last season.  He made it clear that he was protesting ongoing police brutality issues in U.S. society.  But that has now been lost.  What exactly are all these players, coaches and owners demonstrating against now?  That they were insulted by President Trump’s comments last Friday?  Really?
  • Let’s be honest, if that’s what they’re doing out there, then the President’s remarks, which basically boiled down to the NFL commissioner and owners are allowing the inmates to run the asylum, obviously hit very, very close to home.  Otherwise, all this acting out wouldn’t be happening, now, would it?

Just another day in dying NFL America.

That is all.

Random Sunday Thoughts: Is Rand Paul Smart Enough To Become a Hero?

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Senator Rand Paul has a real opportunity this week to turn himself into a real, true presidential contender in either 2020, should President Trump not run for re-election, or in 2024.  He can do that by becoming the deciding vote to pass the Graham/Cassidy Obamacare reform bill in the U.S. Senate.  Yes, he would need either Lisa Murkowski or Susan Collins to also act like real Republicans and support the bill, but Murkowski definitely seems to be get-able in that regard.
  • Think about it:  By casting that single vote, Rand Paul could become a hero to President Trump’s voter base – which according to recent polls makes up a strong majority of the GOP’s total voter base – a hero to everyone who hates the execrable jerk John McCain – which also makes up a majority of the GOP total voter base – and a hero to the millions of Americans who have seen their ability to access real healthcare insurance decimated by Obamacare.  Yes, it would go against the Senator’s precious libertarian principles, but at some point, if he truly wants to be president – as he seemed to sort of want to during the 2016 campaign – actually getting stuff done is going to have to supersede those principles.
  • This week could be a real, true Rand Paul moment.  Is he smart enough to realize it, and take advantage of it?  Sadly, the smart money is probably on ‘no.’
  • How stupid are NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and many NFL owners?  They are so damn stupid that, when President Trump went off on their ridiculous failure to discipline players who are killing their product’s TV ratings (down 20% in the last two seasons) that they actually responded by defending those players.  That, folks, take stupid to previously unknown heights.
  • The NFL seems to have lost sight of who makes up most of its audience.  The preponderance of the NFL’s audience is made up of blue-collar working class Americans, the overwhelming mass of whom think it is really important to honor this country’s flag by standing during the national anthem.  It is not a coincidence that the NFL has seen its TV ratings go into free-fall since Collin Kaepernick started his “look at me” act on the sidelines, and was able to continue to do so without consequence.
  • Some apologists for these player like to argue that the NFL’s ratings are down because their games are boring.  Hell, NFL games have been boring people stiff for a quarter of a century now, but the ratings didn’t start collapsing until the National Anthem protests started.  If the NFL brass – except for Jerry Jones, who has made it clear to his Dallas Cowboys that they will stand for the Anthem or be benched – wants to pretend its problem has nothing to do with the protests, then no one will be able to halt the killing of the League’s Golden Goose.
  • All that having been said, I have no doubt at all that all these NFL social justice warriors who today kneel on the sidelines while making millions of dollars a year will be far happier in the future, when their non-football skill sets allow them to earn $12 per hour putting boxes onto trucks at the loading docks behind the local Wal Mart.  So you go, guys!  Power to the people!!!!!!
  • I just can’t wait to see how many NBA players start their own kneeling acts during the playing of the National Anthems before their games.  That’s going to be awesome, and make the NFL’s SJWs look like child’s play by comparison.  Given that I haven’t watched a full NBA game since about 1988, the death of that sport will make no difference in my life anyway.
  • And the virus has even spread into major league baseball, as Bruce Maxwell, a nitwit mediocrity for the also-ran Oakland A’s decided he needed some attention on Saturday, too.  This one kind of bothers me, since I’ve just begun to watch MLB games again this season, but as long as it doesn’t spread to the Texas Rangers or Los Angeles Dodgers, I’ll be cool.
  • Hey, I’m old enough to remember when all SJWs went absolutely berserk and demanded punishing a player named Tim Tebow, who kneeled in prayer to God before NFL games.  I also remember how the same sports and establishment fake news media that is today supporting the anti-flag kneelers ridiculed Tebow for expressing his beliefs in that way.  Funny how that works.

Just another day in Social Justice Warrior America.

That is all.

An America Beset By Immature Children Acting Out

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Ok, lessee here….what’s been going on in America over the weekend?

  • Oh, well, we had three nights of rioting in St. Louis because a St. Louis jury acquitted a St. Louis cop who was falsely accused of murdering a St. Louis drug dealer six years ago.  To hear the rioters tell it, this drug dealer was the second coming of Rosa Parks and just the best person who ever walked the sidewalks of St. Louis.  I hadn’t said anything about this because riots in the greater St. Louis area have become such a regular occurrence since Barack Obama’s Justice Department began encouraging them and George Soros began funding professional rioters to create them in 2014 that they barely make a blip on my screen anymore.  They have become tiresome displays of immature children acting out over false outrages, the audience and sympathy for which grow smaller by the day.
  • Speaking of tiresome displays of immature children acting out over false outrages, for which the audience and sympathy grow smaller by the day, the Emmy Awards were handed out Sunday night.  Hosted by the execrable, unfunny late night outrage show host Stephen Colbert, the program predictably became nothing but a 3-hour platform for spoiled children to act out over false outrages, all directed at the President of the United States.  The overnight Nielsons weren’t available as of this writing, but we can be sure the ratings for this star-studded group temper tantrum will be down from last year – when they hit a historic low – and will continue to fall through the duration of the Trump Presidency.  This is what happens when performers go out of their way to gratuitously offend half of their potential audience at every given opportunity.
  • Rumors were flying prior to showtime that Hillary Clinton would make a cameo appearance at the show, but it turned out she was too busy signing books on the toilet paper aisle of her local CostCo to make the gig.  But Kate McKinnon, who played The Most Corrupt Woman in America in Saturday Night Live skits, took her presenting role as an opportunity to thank Crooked Hillary for her “grace”.  Proving, of course, that Kate McKinnon doesn’t know the difference between graft and grace.
  • Never to be left out, the NFL continues to demonstrate it has its own sub-population of immature children acting out, as players like Seattle’s Michael Bennett have now decided that protesting the national anthem just isn’t enough attention-seeking, and have begun taking their “look at me!” stunts onto the field.  Bennett celebrated a sack on Sunday with a single raised fist, the old “black power” salute made famous in the 1960s.
  • In other news that should not be news, pollster John McLaughlin came out with new data over the weekend, warning establishment Republicans in congress that they need to start actually keeping their campaign promises or Trump voters won’t turn out to re-elect them in next year’s mid-term elections.  The great wonder with this news item is that establishment Republicans apparently need polling data confirmation of something that would be obvious to the average third grader.  But this is how dim-witted establishment Republicans are.
  • The McLaughlin survey also found that a large plurality of surveyed GOP voters believe that Republicans in congress are working in opposition to President Trump’s efforts to “drain the swamp”, and fully 63% of GOP voters believe it is time for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Speaker of the House Paul Ryan to be replaced.  If any of these results surprise you, you just haven’t been paying close enough attention.
  • If establishment Republicans were intelligent (hah-hah! I’m cracking myself up here!), they would be working feverishly to keep some of those grand promises they all made during their 2016 campaigns.  Instead, they are currently in the midst of an 11-day vacation following just a week of work that came after their month-long August recess.  When they come back next week, they only have five working days left in September before they take their next vacation.
  • What all this shiftlessness and mendacity reminds us of is that there was a very good reason why establishment Republicans in Washington were, just 12 months ago, the single most-hated subset of the DC swamp among the public at large.  Donald Trump’s resurgent presidential campaign bailed them out from what had been shaping up to be a disastrous election cycle in 2016, but that crutch won’t be available in 2018.
  • Unless these layabout GOP dilettantes get their collective act together and start sending promise-keeping legislation to the President’s desk for signing, it becomes more likely by the day that Trump voters will abandon their stinking, er, “sinking” ship in next year’s elections.  Whether that would result in the turning over of one or both houses of congress remains a good question, since the Democrats remain in a state of insoluble disarray, but it all could be avoided by the Republicans’ simply doing some of the things they promised to do.  But this seems to be a bridge too far for McConnell, Ryan and their hapless minions, who obviously view keeping their vacation schedule sacrosanct as their number one duty.

Just another day in immature children acting out America.

That is all.

J-Law Shows Us Why Actors Should Never Go Off-Script

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • From our Shut Up And Act files… – Brain-dead actress Jennifer Lawrence, touring the globe promoting her latest sure-to-be box office bomb, told an interviewer on BBC Channel 4 that Hurricanes Harvey and Irma were nature’s way of getting back at America for electing Donald Trump to the presidency.  No, really, she said this – I swear I don’t make this stuff up.  No word from Ms. Lawrence on why Mother Nature is currently intent upon punishing her home town of Los Angeles with the largest wildfires in its history.
  • Why not just give Rosie O’Donnell a prime time gig? – The leftward-tilting of Fox News by Ruppert Murcoch’s two simpleton sons continues, as the network’s 5:00 ET offering called “The Specialists” was unceremoniously cancelled on Friday and replaced by an hour-long news segment anchored by the very oh-so-progressive Shepherd Smith, who wears his political biases quite emotionally each day on the sleeves of his tightly-tailored suits.    But hey, this is just keeping with the program at Fox these days, as even the formerly balanced Bret Baier has lately taken to stacking his nightly panels with virulent anti-Trump talking heads like Guy Benson, A.B. Stoddard, Jonah Goldberg and the super-entertaining Stephen Hayes, who hasn’t been right about anything since the introduction of Apple’s first IPhone.
  • Ok, so, is this one of those “The End of Trump!” events, or one of those “This is Just the Beginning!” events?  It’s always so hard to tell… – Speaking of the #NeverTrump idiot lobby, the temper tantrums from that part of the DC establishment over the President’s deal with Pelosi and Schumer continued unabated through Friday.  Especially entertaining is a piece at RedState.com by Jay Caruso titled “Trump was wrong on the debt ceiling agreement, and he got owned.”   As with everything written about Mr. Trump by every #NeverTrump nitwit over the past 28 months, it is laughably wrong on every point because it was obviously written in a state of witless rage.
  • But the very best part of the whole thing is the closing:  “Don’t get mad that many of us were right about Trump. This is only the beginning.”  Seriously, Jay, if supporters of President Trump had a dollar for every time we have heard those two sentences from NeverTrumpians like you since 2015, we would all be fabulously wealthy people.
  • All that talk about free speech and balanced budgets is just bound to set people off, you know. – In preparation for an upcoming campus speech by conservative pundit Ben Shapiro, officials at Cal-Berkeley have posted notice that the school will be offering “support services” for any campus snowflake who might be upset by Shapiro’s remarks.  The school is silent, however, on whether or not it will offer any similar “support services” for students who will be assaulted and beaten by masked Antifa and other leftist thugs who will inevitably show up and try to cause a riot.
  • Roger Goodell’s solution is to now have TWO months of pink stuff on uniforms instead of just one. – Ratings for Thursday night’s kickoff of the NFL season were down by 13% when compared to last season’s opener, despite the fact that the game featured two of the league’s ten best teams, including the reigning Super Champion New England Patriots.  This of course continues a trend from 2016, as football fans continue to abandon the league in droves due to all the politically correct BS that now pervades its broadcasts and league policies.
  • Yes, because, you know, all Hispanics provide one another lavish vacations via private jets to lush Dominican resorts and appointments with high-end call girls.  It’s just part of the culture, your Honor! – The defense of Senator Robert Menedenez appears to be lurching off into an O.J. Simpson-type of strategy, in which the defense will try to make society the defendant rather than the accused.  This became apparent on Friday, as the Senator’s defense attorney began his defense by arguing that the charges against Sen. Menendez are in fact an attack on Hispanic culture.  The problem for this strategic approach is that the judge in this case appears to be anything but the sad, attention-seeking dupe that Judge Lance Ito turned out to be for O.J.  If this is the best Sen. Menendez’s lawyers have, he is well and truly screwed.

Just another day in Donald Trump’s America.

That is all.

The NFL Needs to Re-Focus on Football Before It’s Too Late

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • In an appearance on News One’s Roland Martin program earlier in the week, Houston Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee – who once told an interviewer that American astronauts had planted our flag on Mars – declared that the City of Houston is 50 feet below sea level.  This came as real news to every one who has ever lived in Houston, given that the city, while it does sit on low-lying coastal prairie land, is still well above sea level.  Democrats – if they didn’t exist, we’d have to make them up.  But I swear I don’t make this stuff up.
  • The National Football League, whose ratings were down significantly last year, is about to start bleeding an even larger part of its audience thanks to left wing political demonstrations by its players, and left wing political statements by the commentators who cover its games.  With the career mediocrity Collin Kaepernick no longer in the league to stage his National Anthem weekly sit-downs, more than a dozen players for the worst franchise in professional sports – the Cleveland Browns – have taken up the charge.
  • As was the case with Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers management, management for the Browns has collectively chosen to do nothing as the players make asses of themselves and their franchise on national television.  Because of this, on Friday Cleveland’s first responders announced that they will refuse to provide a representative group to hold Old Glory during a planned pre-game celebration this weekend.
  • This is becoming a growing problem for the NFL, as players from several other teams have chosen in recent weeks to turn this stage for a team game into a stage for them to exercise personal political grievances.  Making matters even worse for the league, management at ESPN and the other networks that televise the sport have given their announcers and analysts free rein to weigh in with their own political opinions on all manner of subjects during the game telecasts.  There is no question that this bringing of leftist political expression into the game in such a high-profile, bordering on pervasive manner has already impacted the NFL’s audience in a highly negative way, and will continue to do so if the league does not force teams to begin penalizing players who choose to use this team event as their own personal political platform.
  • If league leaders want to know what their league’s ultimate fate will be if they  fail to act to stop this mess, they only need to look to the film industry for their example.  Hollywood has just experienced its worst summer box office season in modern times, mainly because half of America’s citizens have grown weary of paying absurd admission and concessions prices to support an industry whose “stars” insult them at every given public opportunity.  It is as if these dim-witted actors and actresses simply don’t understand that these very people are the ones who have made them so fabulously wealthy and famous.
  • By the same token, refusing to stand for the national anthem and honor the flag is an insult to the people and the country that has given these football players their own opportunity to become fabulously wealthy and famous.  Millions of Americans have already responded by tuning NFL games out.  If the league fails to end this nonsense, and fails to instruct the announcers to focus on football instead of politics, many millions more will make the same decision in the years to come.
  • There has been much speculation in recent years that the NFL’s ongoing concussion issue will ultimately mean the end of the game of football as we have known it.  If the NFL doesn’t put an end to this ongoing effort by its players and broadcasters to fill its games with leftist politics, there soon won’t be anyone left who gives a damn.

Just another day Sheila Jackson Lee’s America, where Houston is below sea level, and we’ve already landed men on Mars.

That is all.

It’s Almost Football Season, Thank God

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • I’m a huge football fan – the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns are my fall passions – so this is the time of year I start to get really excited about the coming season.  The off-season for football is much longer than for other sports, making the pent up energy to be released on opening day almost unbearable by the time August rolls around.
  • Unfortunately, the Cowboys got some bad news from the NFL on Friday, as star running back Zeke Elliott was suspended for six games over an allegation that he punched a young woman last year.  This decision is bizarre, and at least on the record presented publicly, completely without merit.  Don’t get me wrong:  If Elliott did punch this woman, then he needs to be punished, and punished hard.  The problem is, the NFL has literally nothing but her word for it, while Elliott had several witnesses corroborating all or part of his own version of things.
  • I listened to the NFL’s lawyer explain his reasoning for the decision at the league’s press conference , and it basically came down to “well, Elliott’s lawyers didn’t give us a strong alternate narrative, so we just assumed the girl was telling the truth.”  So in other words, Elliott was assumed to be guilty because he couldn’t prove he was innocent. I have a real problem with that reasoning, and come to think of it, so does the Constitution of the United States.
  • Elliott’s representatives immediately announced they would appeal the suspension.  It’s a good bet it will be significantly reduced, though not eliminated entirely.  Roger Goodell must save face, after all.
  • Outrage among the country’s social justice warrior community continues over the fact that no NFL team has chosen to saddle itself with Colin Kaepernick and his traveling media circus as its backup quarterback.  I say ‘backup’ because Kaepernick has conclusively and consistently demonstrated he is not fit to be a starter in the league.  One writer at the Washington Post hilariously reasoned that “If Kaepernick were Tom Brady, Matt Ryan, Dak Prescott or any of the other star quarterbacks in the league, he’d have a job.”  Well, yeah, he would, because if he were Tom Brady, Matt Ryan or Dak Prescott, he’d be a good quarterback.  Did that really need to be pointed out?  Holy cow.
  • The NFL’s 32 team owners are being accused of being racists, cowards and all sorts of other idiotic things, but seriously, why would any franchise want to saddle itself with a mediocre football player who makes a spectacle of himself for purely personal reasons every Sunday on the sidelines?  Teams have enough actual football problems to worry about each week without voluntarily taking on the media circus that invariably rushes to Kaepernick wherever he goes.
  • And guess what else?  Once Kaepernick gives up on sucking more money from an NFL franchise and tries to latch on in Canadian football, no team up there is going to hire him, either.  What this all comes down to is not ‘racism’ or ‘cowardice’ or ‘collusion’, it comes down to the fact that the guy has chosen to saddle himself with all this baggage, and he’s not a good enough football player for any team to justify taking that on.
  • But enough about the sideshows – the Cowboys kick off this evening at 8:00.  Yeah, it’s just a pre-season game, but it’s football, dammit, and that’s enough for me.

Just another day in shut up and play ball America.

That is all.
