Who’s to Blame for the Storming of the Capitol Building? Everyone.

So, where to begin? I suppose the first thing to say is that none of what happened in Washington DC on Wednesday could have come as a surprise to anyone, and there is plenty of blame to be spread around to everyone.

There is blame to be laid at the feet of President Donald Trump for giving a speech to an enormous crowd of Americans who are rightfully angry at what they see as an election that has been stolen from them and their President. Certainly, the President could have ended his speech with an admonition to go in peace, and he didn’t. He is the President of the United States, after all, and he needs to be willing to take responsibility for his own actions.

The President had to know that any violence that took place would be blamed on himself by the media, by the Democrats and by the Swamp creatures in his own Republican Party, regardless of who committed it. It matters not to Trump’s detractors that the ring leaders of yesterday’s assault on the federal Capitol Building were obvious Antifa: The only thing that matters is that several thousand Trump supporters when through the barricades around the Capitol with them.

There is plenty of blame to be laid at the feet of those people as well. We spent the entire summer and most of the fall arguing that rioting and violence is never a justifiable response to injustice as we watched an array of formerly great American cities be looted and burned on national television by Antifa and BLM rioter while the talking heads of cable news assured us it was all “mostly peaceful.” We ridiculed those talking head for that while arguing that these were not protesters, they were domestic terrorists.

Well guess what? You don’t get to argue that when the rioters are the opposition and then forget all about it when the rioters are made up mostly of your allies. Life doesn’t work that way for rational people of good will.

Upon waking up this morning, the radio station I listen to was playing a tape of some NBA basketball player who was absurdly being asked what he thought about yesterday’s events by some doofus sports reporter, and his answer was “Why do y’all keep calling them protesters? F*** that, man, they’re terrorists.”

Sound familiar? Yes, that guy’s a raging hypocrite since he no doubt spend the entire summer and fall referring to the people burning down the local WalMart and looting the Dick’s Sporting Goods next door as heroes.

But here’s the deal: This works both ways.

There is no question that several thousand actual, real Trump supporters breached those barricades around the Capitol Building along with the obvious Antifa agitators. Those people don’t get a pass here. They can’t in a civil society.

But here’s the other side of this: Take a look at this photo:

That’s Washington, DC. Not from yesterday, but from May 31, 2020. That’s what Antifa and BLM domestic terrorists did to the nation’s capital just 7 months ago, and we all remember how the Democrats and their pals in the corrupt news media portrayed that day, twisting themselves into pretzels of illogic and dementia as they praised the “peaceful protesters” who were “speaking out against injustice” even as cars and buildings burned behind the intrepid fake reporter on the ground.

Those Democrats and corrupt journalists are the exact same people who last night and today have been venting their righteous anger at the President and the Trump supporters who participated in the events at the Capitol Building. If you say they are raging hypocrites, well, you’re right, no question about it.

But if you’re not at the same time condemning the thousands of Trump supporters who really did breach the barricades around the perimeter of the Capitol grounds, then you’re a hypocrite, too. You can’t run around wearing t-shirts that proudly proclaim “Back the Blue” then look the other way when at least two Capitol Policemen had to be taken away from the scene in ambulances. Those folks are Americans with families just like we all are, and they were there just trying to do their jobs.

Joe Biden is also to blame. He came out as the riot was ending and read a speech expressing his own righteous indignation about the riot, saying violence is never the answer and pleading for peace and civility. It was a speech that would have been wonderful if he had had the courage the deliver it 7 months ago as Minneapolis and Chicago and New York City and Washington and Portland and Seattle were being burned and looted by members of his own party, but that didn’t happen, did it? Delivered yesterday, it just rang hollow as it came from a hollow sock puppet who long ago surrendered any moral authority to even speak on the subject.

One of the biggest problems we have now as a society is that there is no one we can trust to tell us the truth. The mainstream news media has invested so much of its time and energy gaslighting the public over the last five years that we cannot believe that anything they report is actually accurate. The same is true of our politicians in both parties and, sadly, of the people who staff the raging dumpster fire of incompetence and deceit that is the FBI and the Department of Justice.

We certainly can’t trust Congress, which very predictably used the riot as an excuse to just speed up the process of declaring China Joe Potato Head Biden as the next POTUS, with Vice President Mike Pence using his gavel to get the deal done. It was all very carefully choreographed, with RINO’s like Mitt Romney getting standing ovations from the Democrats after they spoke.

Naturally, the media started reporting stories based on “sources” that Trump’s cabinet officials were working behind the scenes to build consensus for having him removed from office using the 25th Amendment. You should expect similar messages to come from members of congress today.

In fact, you should probably prepare yourselves for the possibility of that actually happening, given that Republicans like Romney and Elizabeth Cheney would no doubt support the notion. With his speech yesterday, President Trump gave the Swamp a rationale for finally getting what it has pursued endlessly for the last four years: a soft coup d’etat on his presidency.

Wednesday News Roundup: Trump Puts Pence on the Hot Seat as the Dems Win the Senate

Oh, noes! Not Kim and Kanye! – In the major breaking news of Tuesday, Kim Kardashian is filing for a divorce from Kanye West:

Here, Glenn Greenwald sums up my feelings about Kelly Loeffler’s career in 280 characters:

None of what took place in Georgia yesterday would have happened had corrupt Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp done the right thing and appointed then-Congressman Doug Collins to the vacant Georgia Senate seat in 2019. Instead, he picked the moneyed Kelly Loeffler because, well, she’s married to a billionaire and Kemp no doubt profited handsomely from his appointment of said billionaire’s wife.

In stark contrast to Collins, a preacher who is not a moneyed individual, Loeffler is your standard-issue country club Republican who has all the political appeal to the Trump support base of an over-ripe turnip. She and David Perdue, another standard-issue country club Republican, both lost on Tuesday because GOP voter turnout was highly depressed across the state.

Gee, wonder why it would be depressed? Oh, we can try to blame it all on Mitch McConnell for his refusal to allow the Senate to vote on a clean $2,000 COVID relief payment. After all, polls show that late-deciding voters who voted for the Democrats cited their desire for the money as their main reason for their irrational decision.

Or we can try to blame it all on President Trump for his fully justified bashing of Governor Kemp and Secretary Raffensperger. And really, this probably was a factor.

But the reality is that the Georgia runoffs presented conservatives with the same bad choice they faced in the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections: A choice between voting for a fake conservative or staying home. Now, we’re supposed to be surprised that thousands of those voters stayed home? Please.

Thus, as with everything else that has taken place in this travesty of an election season in Georgia, the preponderance of the blame for it all must be laid at the doorstep of the state’s travesty of a Governor, with a major supporting role going to the utterly corrupt Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger. Georgia Republicans now know who to blame, but the safe money says they will nominate these two grifter RINOs all over again when the run for re-election in 2022.

The crowd in DC today will be epic. – Here is what Freedom plaza looked like at about 3:00 on Tuesday:

The NFL didn’t attract that many fans combined to its game throughout the 2020 season. And that’s the day before the big event, with hundreds of thousands of freedom-loving Americans still en route to the nation’s capital.

The President himself will be speaking at the event at 11:00 Eastern time:

You can be sure that this speech will be epic. What happens after that is anyone’s guess.

He should’ve taken the train. – An entire plane-load of such Americans happened to be joined on their flight out of Salt Lake City by the king of all the RINOs, Mitt Romney. During the flight, they treated the despicable traitor to a very appropriate serenade:

While that was going on, CNN was treating its viewers to the single most intellectually-bankrupt panel discussion in world history:

It’s fine for me but not for thee. – While those and many other raging asshats on cable news channels declare Republicans who will challenge the official Electoral College results in today’s joint session of congress to be engaging in sedition and even treason, MRCTV put together this clip from the salad days in which Democrats challenging the official election results was, you know, cool and stuff or something:

Meanwhile, at the joint session of congress… – The pressure will be on Vice President Mike Pence to do what he has no apparent constitutional authority to do, and unilaterally reject the electoral slates from states who conducted clearly fraudulent elections on November 3, regardless of how congress actually votes today.

President Trump apparently believes Pence does somehow have this authority, though, and sent out this tweet last night making that belief crystal clear:

Hooboy. Not a great day to be the Veep, with your boss expecting you to perform a miracle, and a million ordinary Americans on the streets of DC backing him up.

To be clear: I really, really wish Vice President Pence did have the authority to take the action that the GOP controlled state legislatures of Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Arizona have been too cowardly to take on their own authority – authority which is actually granted in the Constitution. But it’s pretty clear that Pence has no such authority, and he swore an oath to uphold the Constitution. Thus, it’s also pretty clear that President Trump and a million Americans on the streets of DC are going to go away late today very disappointed with the ultimate outcome from the day’s events.

The bottom line: What we Trump supporters want to happen today is just not how the system works. Our disappointment and ire should be focused on the state legislatures named above and on the federal courts that have also refused to properly weigh in on the massive fraud deployed by the Democrats to steal this election.

Because those are the people who truly failed to honor their oaths to uphold the constitution, not Vice President Pence.

No, Mike Pence Can’t Unilaterally Stop the Electoral Vote Certification

Let’s kill this horrible rumor dead, shall we? – Listen up: Vice President Pence does not have the power to determine whether or not congress certifies the electoral vote on January 6. He just doesn’t, and no amount of disinformation spread around social media platforms is going to change that immutable fact of life. Patrick Byrne and L. Lin Wood have been spreading that utter and complete nonsense for several days now (see below).

This stuff has also been making the rounds on Facebook and other social media platforms. It is false. It is reprehensibly false, and it is having the effect of impugning Pence’s reputation and creating a potentially dangerous situation for him and his security detail when it becomes obvious on January 6th that none of this is going to happen.

I mean, think about it: If any vice president really had any such authority, would Richard Nixon have become president in 1969? What about John Kennedy in 1961? Both of those men “won” the electoral vote over sitting vice presidents (Nixon in 1960, Humphrey in 1968) by extremely narrow margins, and Kennedy did it amid (true) allegations that the mob had stolen several states for him. If any vice president really had these powers, George W. Bush would have never become president, nor would Donald Trump, for that matter. I mean, if the sitting Veep can control the outcome, why wouldn’t the Democrat Party have simply instructed Biden to do that rather than engage in 4 years of a slow-rolling coup d’etat?

Apply Occam’s Razor here, folks: The clear answer to the questions above is that no vice president actually has any such powers. Period.

Vice President Pence has one role on January 6, and that is to preside over what is almost always a pro forma, uneventful joint session of congress during which the Electoral College results will be approved, normally via a motion for unanimous consent. If one member of the House and one member of the Senate object, however, then the joint session will be dissolved and each house will hold a brief debate before casting a role call vote on the matter.

As I reported late yesterday, the latter will be the case this time, as Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley is defying the will of Mitch McConnell and planning to file an objection, along with about two dozen members of the House. The debate will be for “up to 2 hours,” after which the vote will be held. The positive is that it will force every member of both parties to certify these clearly fraudulent election results by name for posterity. The negative part is that it has no chance whatsoever of changing the outcome.

VP Pence is not going to change that outcome, either, so put that out of your minds right now. Despite the nonsense being spread by Byrne, Wood and others, he simply has no authority whatsoever to do so.

Pence will preside over the joint session, period. That is it, and his role is very restricted while doing so. He has no power to make motions, to participate in any debate that might break out or to participate in the vote. His role is so restricted on that particular day, in fact, that he doesn’t even get to perform his normal duties as President of the Senate in the very unlikely event that a tie vote on the matter should occur.

I am aware that some other “conservative” bloggers who I won’t name are spreading this nonsense in order to attract clicks as well. I could do the same thing and no doubt drive a lot of additional traffic here, but I’m not here to do that, and I’m not going to blow smoke up your skirts. Just know that when you see other websites pushing this nonsense, that is what they are there to do, and if you like being lied to, then by all means continue to click on their stuff. They will no doubt appreciate it.

Thursday News Roundup: Trump is NOT Doing a “Virtual Debate”

So, who won last night’s debate in the only measure that matters – public opinion? – The Drudge Report’s snap poll following the debate showed Vice President Mike Pence destroyed Kamala Harris by a 69-31 margin. Yikes.

A similar poll conducted by the Spanish language station Telemundo arrived at an even more-lopsided 76-23 edge for the VEEP:

Mercy.

Thus, because of this very fact that Pence scored a lopsided shellacking of his sneering Valley Girl opponent, the New York Times, CNN and all the other corrupt news outlets are focusing their post-debate coverage this morning on two brief outtakes:

  1. When a fly landed on Pence’s head for a moment; and
  2. When Harris said to Pence “Mr. Vice President, I’m speaking” at a point in time in which Pence had not even interrupted her.

That’s it. That is all you are going to see and hear talked about related to this debate in the corrupt mainstream news media today. Had their girl had a good night, we’d be hearing about all the debate points she scored. Trouble is, she didn’t score any points.

Thus, flies and feigned indignation it is.

So. Damn. Tiresome.

Remember, though, that Kamala Harris is the Democrat Party’s de facto presidential candidate. – No one, not even in the Democrat Party’s leadership, expects Joe Biden to remain in office for long should he win this election. Harris was the Obama faction’s favored candidate going into this election cycle, and she was hand-chosen to become Biden’s successor-in-waiting for that very reason after her own campaign for the party’s nomination crashed and burned.

If you’ve been wondering why last night was basically the first thing you have seen from Harris during the general election campaign, there’s a good reason for that. Everyone in the Democrat Party understands that she is an awful candidate who turns off everyone with whom she comes into contact. The reactions by viewers to what they saw last night as measured by those two snap polls did not surprise anyone, which is why corrupt news outlets like CNN and the Times were so prepared to leap into the lurch and try to defend her and push the DNC’s preferred narrative.

With nothing real and positive to point to in terms of Harris’s performance, they rely on these silly deflections instead.

Again, very tiresome, but utterly unsurprising.

On the whole “I’m speaking, Mr. Vice President” thing… – Why is it that feminists are all about strong women being able to stand and compete on exactly the same platform and rules as any man, until there’s a debate, when they pretend that any effort by the man to engage in some real back-and-forth with the woman is somehow “mansplaining” or bullying?

This is an incredibly sexist allegation, not towards Pence, but towards Harris, because the pretense is that, because she’s a woman, she is immune from being questioned during a debate by her opponent. Pence was simply attempting to engage with Harris as he would try to engage with a male opponent, which was exactly what leftist “feminism” pretends to be all about.

But when politics come into play, it is not about that, not at all, not even a little bit.

What made last night’s episode even worse is that Harris, being fully aware of the double-standard her media pals would impose on Pence, chose to play into it by pretending to be offended by his non-interruption. If anything, she may be an even more off-putting candidate than Hillary Clinton was, which again explains why the DNC and Biden campaign have striven so hard to keep her under wraps.

A virtual debate? Isn’t that what they all are? – News broke last night that the next presidential debate will be one of the “virtual” variety, causing the initial question of “so, what will be different?” I mean, we haven’t had a real debate between presidential candidates in this country since 1860.

The difference with this next one will, of course, be technological: Due to the President’s positive test for the China Virus, the Biden camp has insisted that it be held via Zoom or some such platform. From a story at the Washington Examiner:

“The second presidential debate will take the form of a town meeting, in which the candidates would participate from separate remote locations,” the Commission on Presidential Debates said in a statement Thursday morning about the Oct. 15 event.

The change in format, made “in order to protect the health and safety of all involved with the second presidential debate,” follows the president testing positive for the coronavirus last week just two days after he debated the Democratic presidential nominee, potentially exposing Biden to the virus.

“The town meeting participants and the moderator, Steve Scully, Senior Executive Producer & Political Editor, C-SPAN Networks, will be located at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County in Miami, Florida. The White House Pool will provide coverage of the second presidential debate,” the commission said.

Earlier this week, Biden said that the debate should not be held if Trump still has the virus.

But wait, President Trump has not agreed to that change! – As I was typing the above, President Trump, during an interview with Maria Bartiromo, just said this:

“I heard that the commission a while ago changed debate style, and that is not acceptable to us,” Trump said. He added, “I’m not going to do a virtual debate.”

Bartiromo then followed up to make sure she had heard correctly:

“I’m not going to waste my time on a virtual debate,” Trump responded. “That’s not what debating is all about. You sit behind a computer and do a debate. It’s ridiculous.”

Hey, maybe the Commission on Presidential Debates – which needs to be completely blown into a million pieces and scattered to the winds – ought to check with both campaigns before issuing statements about format changes.

Seems like a sound business practice, anyway.

The Commission on Presidential Debates Should be Blown up and Scattered to the Wind

So, last night we had a classic presidential/vice presidential debate: A moderator who is a Democrat activist posing as a journalist for a leftist media outlet; a moderator whose every question was slanted in a way to be hostile to the Republican and a puffball to the Democrat; a moderator who constantly interrupted the Republican but not the Democrat.

We also had a Republican candidate who was constantly interrupted and held to time restrictions, but who nonetheless attempted to answer every question that was asked of him; a Democrat candidate who was never interrupted, never held to time restrictions and has yet to answer a single question asked of her; and a Republican candidate who won the debate despite having to play a game of two on one.

Wash, rinse, repeat. This is the template for these quadrennial farces we have come to call “debates.”

Susan Page is a disgrace; Kamala Harris is an obnoxious, smirking valley girl who is really the Democrat Party’s ultimate presidential candidate; and the Commission on Presidential Debates should be blown up into a million pieces and scattered to the winds.

But in two weeks, President Donald Trump will participate in another debate with Joe Biden, one that will be moderated by another Democrat activist posing as a journalist who in fact is a former Biden intern. Yet, you are supposed to suspend your disbelief and mindlessly assume that this moderator will somehow be “fair” to the President, just as you are supposed to assume Chris Wallace was. Because, after all, they’re “journalists.”

It’s like that scene from “Ghostbusters,” where Dr. Peter Venkman is proposing to “clean” a library of ghosts using the team’s nuclear powered entrapment tools. When the facility manager questions whether this is a good idea, Venkman simply responds with “Back off, man…I’m a scientist” as if that is all the answer required.

At some point, the Republican Party is going to have to stop pretending that “back off, man, I’m a journalist” is a satisfactory answer, because Chris Wallace and Susan Page are not journalists: They are activists for the enemy party. These “debates” are farces, and they must end. I had hoped the extremely unconventional Donald Trump would do that in 2016, but instead he used them to his advantage. He is attempting to do the same thing in this election cycle.

But Trump can do this because of the sheer force of his will and personality; he is far from a standard issue Republican. We have witnessed cycle after cycle in which GOP stiffs like Mitt Romney and John McCain and George W. Bush emerge from these 2 on 1 battles either scarred, or, in the case of Romney and McCain, irreparably damaged.

For his own part, the Vice President fared quite well. Say what we will about Pence being a bit of stiff himself, he is also tough and smart and very concise and careful in the language he uses. The contrast he provides to the smirking, giggling, bald-faced lying Harris is stark and helps the ticket from a public confidence perspective.

But in a fair set-up, one in which we either had a truly-impartial moderator or a second seat like Mollie Hemingway to offer up some tough questions directed at the Democrat, Harris’s facade would fall completely apart.

If the Commission on Presidential Debates cannot find a way to provide a more fair set up in 2024, then it is long past time to blow the entire process up. The GOP needs to quit playing the abused spouse here and refuse to put its candidates through anymore of these farces.

Is the 2020 Campaign Essentially Over? Not Hardly.

The folks at DNC mouthpiece Axios are saying that the 2020 campaign is “essentially over” after President Trump’s China Virus diagnosis. Thus, the instant replay of the 2016 media strategy to discourage Trump voters continues apace.

These people are the slowest learners on the planet.

Ok, to give them credit, half of their equation is manifestly true, given that the campaign of Creepy Uncle McWifeMolester never actually got started, with his elder-abusing handlers keeping the candidate locked away in his basement for weeks at a time and calling daily lids by 9:00 a.m. when Sleepy Joe wakes up thinking he’s on a cruise ship to Tobago. They’ve started letting him off of his IV and out of his safe house more often over the last few weeks, but whenever they do it’s to speak to a series of empty backyards, wheat fields and, as he did yesterday, empty parking lots:

Not sure what this particular speech was about, but we do know every word in it was completely false, because that is the basis of the entire Biden/Harris Harris/Biden campaign. In that sense, this campaign is just like every Democrat presidential contest since 1964. The Democrat Party’s tactics become increasingly violent and radical over time, but the overarching strategy never changes.

So, at least where the Democrats are concerned, this campaign has been over for many months now, and only the refusal by corrupt media outlets like Axios to cover Biden and Harris honestly  prevents the public from understanding that fact. Thus, Axios is half-right, which is better than its normal record.

The Trump Campaign is an entirely different story. Even while hospitalized at Walter Reed Hospital and being aggressively treated for the viral gift from China, President Trump has been working, planning campaign strategy and tweeting messages like this to his supporters:

Does this sound like a guy who is ready to stop campaigning to you? Please.

He’s had to cancel some fundraisers and campaign rallies in key states due to his diagnosis, but trust me, when this two-week self-quarantine is over, he will make the final 20 days or so of this race a feeding frenzy of campaigning, just as he did in 2016, when he often visited 3 or more states every day in the final weeks leading to Election Day.

Axios and its fellow Democrat-toadying media outlets want Trump supporters to be discouraged and staying home on Election Day, but it’s obvious that the President’s loyal army is having none of it. The President is unable to stage his usual campaign rallies? Fine. Trump supporters will stage rallies of their own.

Note that the Perpetual Outrage Crowd would have had nothing bad to say if this exact same crowd gathered to support BLM or some other Marxist, domestic terrorist organization.

Is the Trump/Pence campaign “over”? Not hardly. While the President is in the hospital, Vice President Pence continues to run circles around the essentially non-existent Biden/Harris Harris/Biden operation all by himself. You can be sure that Pence fully intends to show up for his debate with Harris in three days, and will make her look like the silly little fascist she truly is.

You can also be sure that the President is eagerly looking forward to Biden and whichever Democrat toadying fake journalist happens to be the moderator on October 22 and 29, as scheduled. Not surprisingly, the moderator for the October 22 debate is some clown who used to be an intern for Joe Biden. Golly, go figure.

Want to know one reason why the corrupt news media is so anxious to discourage Trump voters? Because the polls released late in the week show the President gaining ground after the debate, and the independent polls not affiliated with any American media outlet show him basically even or ahead nationally and in crucial swing states.

The new poll from John Zogby – taken after the debate but before the President’s diagnosis – has Biden clinging to a 2-point national lead.

Creepy Uncle China Quid Pro Joe led by 6 points in the same poll at the end of August. Why would the campaign be over?

Meanwhile, the monthly Democracy Institute Sunday Express poll – the only poll to accurately predict both the outcome of the Brexit election and Donald Trump’s victory in 2016 – now has the President running ahead of Biden, both nationally and, by a larger margin, in key swing states.

The monthly Democracy Institute Sunday Express poll for the Presidential election shows that Mr Trump is still on course for victory with 46 percent of the popular support compared to his Democrat rival Joe Biden’s 45 percent.

The poll was completed after the news broke that President Trump and his wife Melania have been infected by Covid-19.

But 68 percent said the illness would not affect their vote while 19 percent said they were “more likely” to support Trump and only 13 percent “less likely”.

Almost two thirds said they felt sympathy and concern for the President while 38 percent said him getting the disease was “karma” in an indication of the current divisive nature of US politics.

Crucially, Mr Trump’s lead in key swing states including Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin remains at 4 percent by 47 percent 43 percent.

This gives a projected Electoral College split of 320 to Trump and 218 to Biden.

Now, that’s all well and good, but here is the truly blockbuster finding from this particular poll:

While other polls have Biden ahead, the Democracy Institute, which correctly predicted Brexit and Trump’s win in 2016, only considers people who identify as “likely voters” rather than all registered voters and also asks about the so called shy vote.

This shows that 77 percent of Trump supporters would not admit it to friends or family members.

Next Democrat/Media Hoax Narrative: Quarantine Trump!

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Ok, so, we have a new Democrat/corrupt news media narrative coming, likely as soon as today. It’s being facilitated by Dr. Anthony Fauci, who dramatically announced he was placing himself into “modified quarantine,” whatever that means, after not-really-coming-into-contact with a staffer in the White House who has tested positive for the Wuhan Virus.

Fauci, in keeping with his subversive actions on behalf of the DNC, naturally chose to notify CNN first of his new situation. Here is how the news-fakers at CNN reported their “scoop”:

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and member of the White House’s coronavirus task force, told CNN he will begin a “modified quarantine” after making a “low risk” contact with the White House staffer who tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The “low risk” assessment means he was not in close proximity to the person who tested positive during the time when that person was known to be positive for the virus.

To err on the side of caution, Fauci said he is doing what he calls a “modified quarantine,” meaning he will stay at home and telework, wearing a mask continually, for 14 days. He said he might also go to his office at the National Institutes of Health where he is the only one there. He also will be tested every day, he said, noting he was tested yesterday and was negative.

If he is called to the White House or Capitol Hill, he will go while taking every precaution, he said.

Trust me, Fauci isn’t going to have to worry about that last part. It has become obvious over the last 10 days or so that President Trump has become fully wise to the destructive game Fauci has been playing with the American public throughout this crisis, and has essentially eliminated his role in any policy decisions going forward.

And take a close look at what that article says: Fauci was not in close contact with anyone at the White House who has tested positive, and freely admits it. Not only that, he himself has been tested, and the test came back negative. The odds are very good that anyone who has made a trip to the grocery store in the past 3 months has come in much closer proximity to someone infected with the virus than Fauci did, so by Fauci’s standard here, everyone in America should be on “modified” self-quarantine.

And besides, wasn’t testing supposed to be the magic bullet here? I mean, all the Democrats and their media toadies have done over the last month is scream about “MOOOOORE TESSSTINGGGGGGK!!!”

This bit of fake drama has one purpose and one purpose only: To set up a narrative claiming that both Vice President Pence and President Trump should now be quarantined, since both men have likely been in the same room recently with Pence’s press secretary, Katie Miller, or her husband, presidential advisor Stephen Miller.

As freedom protests ramp up across the nation and more and more cities and counties move into open rebellion against the draconian shut-down orders, it is becoming increasingly apparent that the Democrat governors, mayors and county judges who have been attempting to extend the pain as long as possible are about to have to begin reopening their states in earnest. In other words, their hopes of extending all of this all the way until November is about to fail.

You have to remember that every action Democrat politicians take is based on polling data. They are no doubt seeing bad polling data popping up, so they’re going to have to start folding up this particular tent and pray for Fauci’s vaunted “second wave” of the Wuhan Virus to start popping up along about September, as the weather starts to cool again.

In the meantime, they have to find some way to keep Trump off of the campaign trail, and deny him the ability to hold rallies. What better way to do that than to mount a new hoax narrative pressuring him to stay quarantined in the White House? And how better to kick that narrative off than by using their favorite doctor, Anthony Fauci?

So, do not doubt me on this, this new hoax narrative is coming, probably starting today, just in time for the Sunday morning talk shows.

Tuesday’s Coronavirus Task Force Briefing: Stunning, Compelling, Must-See TV

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Tuesday evening’s Coronavirus Task Force update was especially compelling in many ways. It was a very somber event, during which President Donald Trump, Vice President and Task Force leader Mike Pence and doctors Deborah Birx and Anthony Fauci informed the nation about the reasons behind their current messaging that America should expect somewhere between 100,000 and 200,000 people to die from the Wuhan Virus, COVID-19.

It went on for more than 2 hours, as the single most accessible President in modern U.S. history and the Task Force members addressed every question the corrupt press corps wanted to ask. At the end, the President told the reporters that “it was an honor to be here with you today” and it seemed as if he actually meant it.

We watched every moment of it in our home, and felt like it had been an honor to do so. Here is a list of some of the more interesting aspects of the event:

– The press corps was actually fairly well-behaved. – Someone had obviously dressed down both Jim Acosta and Yamichi Alcindor, the two most idiotic and preening members of the White House press corps. Both were chastened and both asked questions that were actually somewhat on-point for the first time in memory.

– President Trump called on Acosta five separate times. – He did that despite the fact that the scumbags who run CNN chose to not air the President’s opening remarks, which contained the most important information for the public to understand. Why Trump continues to recognize anyone from what is nothing more than a rank propaganda outlet defies all understanding or logic. Enough.

– The President ignored Alcindor until the final 10 minutes. – When he called on her, she posed her questions politely and without her normal rancor and accusatory tone. She had obviously been warned, either by he White House staff, or by her bosses at PBS.

– The press can’t understand the model. – The most amusing part of the event was watching as the dimwitted members of the press asked question after question of Birx and Fauci in a vain effort to actually grasp what they were being told. They never really did figure it out.

– Birx and Fauci were presenting a worst-case scenario. – Birx especially kept subtly pointing this out. During at least three different answers to dumb questions, she basically stated that the model they are using takes what is currently happening in New York and New Jersey and assumes through extrapolation that every other state in the nation will experience the same progression curve with this virus. By doing that, this model – which just 2 weeks ago projected 1 million to 2.2 million U.S. deaths from the Wuhan Virus – is able to get to its current projection of 100,000 to 200,000 deaths. As both Birx and Fauci pointed out, statistical models are only as good as their data and assumptions, and this one is based on very bad assumptions.

– This method is absurdly overstating the most likely outcome. – Both New York and New Jersey are densely-populated coastal states whose major airports received huge portions of the 10,000 China natives who flew into this country during November through January every damn day while the ChiCom government was lying about the extent of the outbreak in Wuhan Province, and how contagious the virus truly is. In addition, New York City was especially slow in responding to the outbreak, with Marxist Mayor Bill de Blasio still advising his citizens to go about their normal lives as late as March 10. The reality of our country is that virtually no other state is going to have anything remotely close to the experience in New York and New Jersey.

– Washington and California are more relevant. – Both of these coastal states were also receiving thousands of travelers from China every day throughout that early period. Both were also early centers for the outbreak. Yet, because both states are much less densely populated than New York and New Jersey, and because their state and big-city leaders responded much more quickly and forcefully than de Blasio and Andrew Cuomo, their curves are vastly lower than their East Coast counterparts. Washington’s curve already even appears to have peaked. Geographically and demographically, these two states look far more like the rest of the country than New York and New Jersey.

– Birx and Fauci are going to have some real explaining to do in the future. – When we get to the end of April and the numbers of actual U.S. deaths and infections turn to have been a small fraction of what these two alarmist doctors laid out for the nation on Tuesday, millions of Americans, while relieved at the lower numbers, are going to demand a real explanation. Sadly, just as they were yesterday, the White House press corps members will still be too confused and dim to even ask the right questions on behalf of the country.

– The mitigation strategy is still valid and should be heeded. – All the alarmist overstatement aside, this is still a very deadly virus and the strategy of taking social actions to contain it is valid. Don’t kid yourselves otherwise, especially if you fall into the most vulnerable categories. Stay at home, wash your hands and stay 6 feet away from literally everybody when you have to go out for groceries.

– Mike Pence is coming into his own. – I’ve never been all that impressed with Vice President Mike Pence. I find him to be wooden, boring and his speaking style to be artificial, stilted and largely insincere. But we all need to recognize the tremendous public service this man has done in leading this Task Force. By every account, he has worked tirelessly to ensure the best outcome possible for our country, and he has become a more imposing and impressive presence at these daily briefings with each passing day. Before yesterday’s briefing, during which he twice took charge of the process, I have never seen him as a potential future president. Now, I do.

Good for him, and good for the country.

Corrupt Media Outlets: Damned if They do Cover Trump, Damned if They Don’t

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Just in case you were still laboring under the delusion that CNN and MSNBC are actual “news” organizations, know this: When President Donald Trump (I never tire of typing those three glorious words) had to leave his daily Coronavirus Task Force press briefing early yesterday, turning it over to Vice President Mike Pence and doctors Anthony Fauci and Deborah Birx, the corrupt reporters for CNN and MSNBC also left.

What does that tell you? It tells you that CNN and MSNBC view their sole purpose for covering those events as an effort to cause some controversy involving the President in their neverending efforts to damage him personally. Their corrupt reporters are not there to hear from the experts; they aren’t there to gather real-time information about the China Virus pandemic so that they can convey it to their viewers; they are are there with a single, overarching goal in mind, which is to find a way to damage the President of the United States, who is himself focused on steering a nation of 339 million people through a major crisis.

Think about it: These same two corrupt media outlets went nuts earlier this week when Dr. Fauci was not present for 3 of the updates over a span of 5 days. They ran story after story and convened TV panel after TV panel claiming Fauci was being unfairly excluded from the events because he had disagreed with the President on the potential of hydorxychloroquine as a coronavirus treatment.

But Dr. Fauci chastised reporters on Sunday and Monday for attempting to drive a wedge between him and the President, stating that it was “not helpful” and demanding that they stop. Since he did that, these utterly corrupt media outlets suddenly have no interest in hearing from the guy they were portraying as the second coming of Mother Teresa and Albert Einstein not even a week ago.

If he isn’t useful in creating negative “news” about the President, he isn’t useful to them, period.

This pattern is certainly not limited to CNN and MSNBC – they are simply the most blatant about their bias and corruption, parading those traits out there on the air and websites every day like figurative badges of honor. It really applies to all the major networks, newspapers and magazines in the country – even to Fox News, although to a somewhat lesser extent.

We hear a lot of conservative voices complaining about the idiotic behavior of the reporters at these daily updates, but I think that is actually a very good thing for our country. As the New York Post reported yesterday, these events are attracting huge ratings, serving both as substitutes for the massive rallies the President is unable to hold during this crisis and as a window for the public to view the utterly irresponsible and unhinged behavior of the press corps.

President Trump’s daily White House coronavirus briefings are a ratings hit.

The president, who has taken the lead in the task force’s daily updates to the nation, has attracted an average audience of about 8.5 million viewers on cable news — about the number of viewers who watched the season finale of “The Bachelor,” The New York Times reported on Wednesday, citing Nielsen numbers.

And as the outbreak continues to surge across the country and more Americans abide by shelter-in-place orders in a number of states, the viewership is increasing.

Monday’s briefing drew 12.2 million people on CNN, MSNBC and Fox News, ratings similar to those of “Monday Night Football.”

Fox News has benefited from the briefings, with the cable network attracting 6.2 million viewers on Monday, numbers on par with popular prime-time shows.

The newspaper said millions more are watching on the traditional networks — ABC, CBS and NBC, as well as online — but they offer less reliable numbers than the cable stations because of the way Nielsen ratings are measured.

So, millions of Americans – especially younger ones – are really getting their first taste of exactly how idiotic and overwrought the White House press corps really is, thanks to these daily briefings. At the same time, they are also getting a big dose of the real Donald Trump, coming to them live on their TV screens without any filter  from corrupt and biased talking heads.

The corrupt media organizations began to wake up to this monster they have helped to create last week, when polls showing high public approval for the President’s handling of the crisis began to come out. There is so much concern over this phenomenon now in Democrat/media propaganda land that we have seen a steady drumbeat of op/eds advocating for the TV outlets to actually stop covering the updates live in recent days.

But that’s a big problem: These updates have now become ‘must-see TV’ in tens of millions of homes across America, as people going stir crazy from being shut-in hunger for any news that might give them an idea of when their sheltering-in-place might come to a merciful end.

If the corrupt TV outlets now move to deny them this form of daily entertainment, they face a potential backlash that could be severe. It would be like denying people their daily dose of Wheel of Fortune.

It’s a real conundrum.

The simple reality is this: President Trump has broken the corrupt news media, likely forever. He has now put them in a spot in which they are damned if they do cover these daily updates, and damned if they stop covering them. Given the sorry conduct of these corrupt media outlets over the last four years, that is a very just reward.

Did Nikki Haley Just Reveal the Leaders of the 25th Amendment Push?

Tired of all this #WINNING yet? Yeah, neither am I. – For what seems like the 16,000th time during President Donald Trump’s term in office, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at yet another record high on Monday, as the Trump economy just keeps roaring along. Democrats and fake journalists everywhere were doubling up on their depression meds as the markets closed.

When Nikki Haley speaks, people listen. – When people start surveying the GOP landscape post-Trump, whether that comes in January after being removed from the the presidency by the Senate (which is not likely to happen), in January 2021 after a loss in the 2020 election (also not in the cards) or in January 2025 following the completion of his second term in office (bingo!), the survey inevitably lands to the name of Nikki Haley as one of his most likely successors.

Other names also arise, of course: Names like Mike Pence and Mike Pompeo and Ted Cruz, and the less obvious names like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan and even Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw. Lindsey Graham, with his thrice-weekly appearances on one Fox News evening program or another, is obviously angling for another run at the gig, as are Rand Paul and even Kanye West. But inevitably, the name of Nikki Haley always comes up.

She is, after all, a former successful governor of South Carolina, and a person who, after not really being on board with the Trump Train during the 2016 campaign, created a very high profile for herself as Trump’s very loyal, very aggressive and very outspoken UN Ambassador. Although her record as Governor was decidedly mixed from a conservative perspective, perhaps more than any of Trump’s cabinet-level officials, Haley has stood out as the most aggressive advocate for his international policies.

Thus it is that anything she has to say about the goings-on inside White House during her two-year tenure is given a lot of weight by most Trump supporters. In a Sunday interview with Kelly O’Donnell of CBS, Haley basically accused both then-Chief of Staff John Kelly and then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson of rank insubordination, even though she said they claimed that was not their intent.

Here’s the key outtake:

Haley recounts a closed-door encounter with then-White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson: “Kelly and Tillerson confided in me that when they resisted the president, they weren’t being insubordinate, they were trying to save the country … Tillerson went on to tell me the reason he resisted the president’s decisions was because, if he didn’t, people would die. This was how high the stakes were, he and Kelly told me. We are doing the best we can do to save the country, they said. We need you to work with us and help us do it. This went on for over an hour.”

O’Donnell asked, “You memorialized that conversation? It definitely happened?”

“It absolutely happened,” said Haley. “And instead of saying that to me, they should’ve been saying that to the president, not asking me to join them on their sidebar plan. It should’ve been, ‘Go tell the president what your differences are, and quit if you don’t like what he’s doing.’ But to undermine a president is really a very dangerous thing. And it goes against the Constitution, and it goes against what the American people want. And it was offensive.”

[We asked them to respond. John Kelly tells “Sunday Morning”: “If by resistance and stalling she means putting a staff process in place … to ensure the (president) knew all the pros and cons of what policy decision he might be contemplating so he could make an informed decision, then guilty as charged.”]

Undermining a president from the inside is indeed a very dangerous thing, as Haley notes, and her accusation against Kelly and Tillerson rings true given everything else we know about the two men and their behavior while serving in those positions. Tillerson repeatedly made his personal disdain for the President and his lack of support for Trump policies related to North Korea, China and other parts of the world very clear while serving as SOS, which is the main reason why his tenure in the office was so short. Kelly’s first move after moving into his Chief of Staff role was not to go after the myriad leakers inside the White House, but rather to cut the President off from his most loyal supporters and start to systematically force them out of their jobs.

Rumors have run rampant for more than two years now that both men were willing participants in the mid-2017 plot to dummy up a rationale for removing Trump from office under the 25th Amendment, a plot we know beyond any reasonable doubt that Rod Rosenstein was a part of. If you believe in the whole “where there’s smoke there’s fire” paradigm, it seems extremely likely that those persistent rumors must have some basis in reality.

If Haley’s contention about the approach by Tillerson and Kelly is accurate – and there is little reason to believe that it is not – then it would be consistent with a move that would be made as a part of a larger 25th amendment effort targeting the President. Haley’s contention here, and cryptic use of the term “sidebar plan,” is troubling in the extreme, and Tillerson’s refusal to even respond to it does not reflect well on him. Kelly’s response, which does not in any way address the accusation, may be even worse.

As mentioned earlier, Haley’s interview – promoting her new book – is also a not-so-subtle attempt to keep herself in the public eye, ready to quickly move in the unlikely event of Trump’s actual removal by the Senate. The following passage reveals that part of her personal agenda:

Haley insists she has no immediate plans to run for any office, including the presidency, and as she departed the Trump administration last year she said, “I can promise you what I’ll be doing is campaigning for this one.”

She told O’Donnell, “A year is a long time in politics. It really is a lifetime in politics. And so, I think what’s best for me is take it a year at a time and see what happens.”

With her new book, lucrative speaking engagements, and a seat on the corporate board of Boeing, Nikki Haley acknowledges there are still chapters to be written:  “I’m too young to stop fighting. I’ll always be out there. I’ll always use the power of my voice for what I believe is good.”

So, whether the jumping off point becomes early 2020, early 2021 or the 2024 election campaign, you can be sure that Nikki Haley will be vying to become the face of the GOP in the wake of the Trump presidency. Lining herself up as this President’s most loyal and vocal supporter helps her cause immensely.

Mike Pence is Right: Ilhan Omar Has no Place on the Foreign Affairs Committee

Why did it take so long? – It took a Brooklyn jury well over a week to come back with a verdict finding Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman guilty, at long last. What are they putting in the water in Brooklyn that made this so hard? Seriously, unless there was some serious jury tampering going on, how could there possibly be any reasonable doubt in anyone’s mind that one of the most vicious, brutal and guilty beasts on the face of the earth was on trial here?

At any rate, the brute will remain behind bars for a long, long time, most likely the rest of his sorry life, so at least justice was done in the end.  But damn, where was the doubt here?

Another no good terrible very bad day for the Enemy Within. – Minnesota’s radical Muslim Democrat Ilhan Omar had another bad, and frankly idiotic day on Capitol Hill on Wednesday, as the fallout from her anti-Semitic tweet storm on Monday continued.

First, a clever parliamentary maneuver by the GOP minority in the House forced a vote on a resolution affirming America’s support for Israel and condemning those who endorse “movements that deny Israel’s right to exist,” something Omar has done repeatedly in the past. The move caught Democrats by surprise, and the many anti-Semitic among them had to scramble to decide whether to reveal their true nature or vote “yes” on the language.

In the end, all those present decided to support the language, resulting in a 424-0 vote in favor. Amazingly, not one of the media outlets has chosen to report on the only real salient question here, which is how did the Enemy Within vote on the measure? After all, the House has 435 members, so 11 are unaccounted for in that 424 number. We know that two voted “present”, but what about the others? The fake news media appears incapable of finding out.  Amazing.

Regardless, the unanimous vote amounts to a clear rebuke of Omar and her fellow anti-Semites on Capitol Hill.

A little earlier in the day, the Enemy Within used a hearing of the House Foreign Affairs Committee – on which San Fran Nan has chosen to plant her – to ask Special Envoy to Venezuela Elliott Abrams completely off-topic “questions” that were really just accusations. The topic of the hearing was ostensibly the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation in the socialist utopia of Venezuela, but Omar decided this would be a great opportunity to hurl accusations and insults at Abrams about his supposed role in … wait for it … the IRAN CONTRA SCANDAL!

I kid you not, the Enemy Within is so depraved, so despicable, such a typical…well…such a typical Democrat that she spent her entire allotted 5 minutes reading insults at Abrams from a document someone else had written for her. Her performance was so juvenile and inappropriate that even the ultra-leftwing Daily Beast published a post condemning her actions.

Don’t misunderstand – I have no sympathy at all for Elliott Abrams, a war-mongering neo-con who should not have any role whatsoever in a Trump Administration, and am frankly befuddled why Secretary of State Pompeo chose him for what is supposed to be a “peace-making” role. But witnesses at any congressional hearing, regardless of their backgrounds or which political party happens to be in the majority, should expect committee members to stick to the supposed reason for the hearing in their questioning. And no witness should be expected to sit quietly by as a member of congress, conveniently exempt from the nation’s laws governing libel and slander, impugns their reputation with ad hominem attacks in a public hearing.

Granted, Omar’s behavior in yesterday’s hearing has become just par for the Democrat course over the past two years, but when you’re a Democrat and your behavior is so far out of accepted norms that you draw the condemnation of a leftwing lapdog fake media outlet like the Daily Beast, you have definitely gone too far.

More than anything else, Omar’s despicable behavior yesterday proves exactly how wrong it is for this Enemy Within to have a seat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Simply condemning her anti-Semitic remarks is not enough – Speaker Pelosi needs to take some real action where this garbage member of congress is concerned. As Vice President Mike Pence said on Tuesday, she should remove the Enemy Within from the Foreign Affairs Committee.

Warning: Don’t hold your breath waiting for that to happen. These are Democrats we’re talking about here.

That Time President Trump Refused To Play The Democrats Bad Faith Game

Oh, no, what will the nation do without him in the race? Wait, who’s he again? – Billionaire Tom Steyer – the fake environmental activist who accumulated his wealth via coal investments – announced yesterday that he won’t be running for president, and will instead focus his efforts on bribing and bullying Democrats to impeach President Donald Trump. Thus, he gives up one hopeless, very costly pursuit for another.

Upon reading the “news” of Steyer’s decision not to enter the Democrat nomination race, 98% of Americans will look at their spouse or pet cat and say, “Who the hell is Tom Steyer?” But hey, all but two or three potential Dem candidates will generate the same reaction.

They should put the Chuck and Nancy Show on CBS. They’d fit right in with Murphy Brown, and get better ratings because they’re actually funny. – Speaker San Fran Nan and Senate Minority Leader Chuckie Schumer are becoming a regular item in Washington DC and on social media these days. They’ve appeared together in public more often in the last two weeks than Jeff Bezos and his wife McKenzie have in the last two years.

The pair’s hysterically wooden performance in the wake of President Donald Trump’s border crisis speech Tuesday night spawned more fantastic memes on Twitter than even the demented ignoramus Alexandria Ocasio Cortez has generated since her accidental election last November.  Here’s a great example:

What a hoot they are. Much funnier than Abbot and Costello – can’t wait to see their version of “Who’s on First?” just because I want to see what position they put Kamala Harris in.  (Think about it.)

Anyway, the Chuck and Nancy Show aired another episode outside the White House on Wednesday afternoon following yet another meeting on the border issue to which the pair showed up with no intention to negotiate in good faith. When San Fran Nan rudely interrupted President Trump as he was making his opening statement and passing out candy (really: he passed out candy), saying that she would never agree to any funding for a border wall, Trump said “Then we have nothing to discuss.  Bye-bye!” (apparently a direct quote) and left the room.

That was when Chuck and Nancy scurried out to the leering press assembled outside the White House portico and recited their talking points for all the fake journalists to include in their fake stories on the meeting that had just failed. That’s how the game works.

Despite all the hair-on-fire fake reporting by our fake news media, this was the best thing the President could have done. The worst thing he could have done would have been to make more concessions to the Democrats like those that were made during the working session involving Vice President Mike Pence and Democrat and GOP congressional staff that took place over the weekend, without getting anything from the Dems in return other than the promise to go back to Chuck and Nancy and see what they had to say.

I’ve been in several negotiating sessions with Democrat congressional staff myself over the years, and here’s how that game works.  The Rs agree to make changes in a bill’s language on the condition they get X from the Ds, but the Democrat staffers claim they have to check with their members before they can include X in the bill. But first, they insist on revising the working draft to include the new language so their members can see it better.  The meeting then adjourns with the new concessions from the Rs included in the bill’s working draft.

At the next meeting, the D staffers inform the Rs that their members are not willing to meet their conditions but now insist that the new language remain included in the bill’s working draft because the Rs have already “agreed” with it. If the Rs object, the Ds run to their contacts at the Washington Post and the next morning the Rs are greeted with a WaPo story that accuses them of not negotiating in good faith. The R staffers then get called into their own members’ offices and chastised for screwing things up.

This is the bad-faith game the Ds have played and the Rs have fallen for over many decades now, and it’s exactly what happened related to the border bill over the weekend. President Trump obviously realized that, and is not in any mood to continue playing that particular game.

So he did what any smart negotiator would do when it is obvious the other side has no intention of negotiating in good faith and broke up the useless meeting so he could focus his time and energy on actual productive efforts. It’s just another example of him bringing his tactics from the business world into his role as President.

Good for him. He should begin every future meeting on this topic in exactly the same manner until Pelosi and Schumer either show up prepared to make concessions of their own or send representatives in their place who will. He’s going to get the bad press regardless of what happens because that’s what our fake news media does, so he might as well hold firm until he gets at least part of what he wants.

It sure would be nice if Pence and the other Republicans involved in this process would wake up and behave accordingly. But that’s probably too much to ask of a bunch of people who are afraid of their own shadows when it comes to our fake news media.
