Sunday News Roundup: Voter Fraud is Right at the Top of Joe Biden’s Addled Mind

On Saturday, President Donald Trump held rallies before massive audiences in the states of Florida, North Carolina, Ohio and Wisconsin, speaking to more than 60,000 Americans in the process. It was his busiest day thus far during the general election campaign, and if anything this amazing man appeared to display more energy during his final stop in Wisconsin than at any of the earlier events. He literally appears to somehow feed off of the energy of these huge crowds.

On the same day, Joe Biden held a rally before maybe 100 parked cars in Pennsylvania, at one point referring to Pennsylvanians who support President Trump as a bunch of “chumps,” thus spawning the soon-to-be-trending Twitter hashtag, “#ChumpsforTrump”. Hilarious.

After gratuitously insulting half the population of this election’s key state, Biden spent the remainder of his time yelling at the kids to get off his lawn, and then wandered aimlessly around the stage looking for his tapioca pudding while his wife Jill rambled on about pretty much nothing:

Next, obviously exhausted from his grueling one-rally schedule, Biden returned to his basement and, before being hooked back up to his handy IV, bragged to a call to big donors that “We have put together…the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics”.

No, I’m not kidding. Take a look:

Hey, look, at least he’s honest, right? His elder-abusing handlers shrugged it away as just another slip of the famous Biden tongue, but in reality it just shows what is at the top of the dementia-riddled brain. As he and his handlers come increasingly to the realization that their coordinated plan with the corrupt national news media to suppress Trump turnout with an unending series of fake polls showing Biden with huge leads is not bearing its intended fruit, the importance of that “extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization” in key swing states becomes elevated.

So, of course that is what was right at the top of his creepy old mind.

In other news, disgusting, formerly-funny person Chelsea Handler proved yet again that the Hollywood elite is chock full of white racist leftists, explaining her recent Twitter-shaming of rapper 50 Cent by telling a head-nodding Jimmy fallon that “I had to remind him that he is a black person” after the rapper had announced he would be voting for President Trump.

From a story at Fox News:

Chelsea Handler offered an explanation as to why she publicly scolded her ex-boyfriend 50 Cent for supporting President Trump during her Friday night appearance on “The Tonight Show.”

The comedian had been feuding with 50 Cent — born Curtis James Jackson III — since Monday when he shared an image from a news broadcast on Instagram that depicted the rates at which certain places would be taxed under Joe Biden’s plan. The broadcast highlighted New York state (58%) and New York City (62%).

“WHAT THE F–K! (VOTE ForTRUMP) IM OUT,” wrote Jackson in the caption. “F–K NEW YORK The KNICKS never win anyway. I don’t care Trump doesn’t like black people 62% are you out of ya f–king mind.”

Handler insisted the 62 percent tax hike “isn’t a plan” under Joe Biden, calling it a “lie” during her interview with “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon.

50 CENT DOUBLES DOWN ON OPPOSITION TO JOE BIDEN’S TAX PLAN: ‘I DON’T WANT TO BE 20CENT’

“So he doesn’t want to pay 62 percent in taxes because he doesn’t want to go from ’50 Cent’ to ’20 Cent’ and I had to remind him that he was a Black person, so he can’t vote for Donald Trump and that he shouldn’t be influencing an entire swath of people who may listen to him because he’s worried about his own personal pocketbook,“ Handler said.

[End]

Again, Hollywood is filled to the gills with white racist leftists like Ms. Handler, which is – other than all the rampant pedophilia that dominates the film industry – pretty much all we need to know about Hollywood.

In other disgusting woman-related news… – Alaska RINO Senator Lisa Murkowski obviously had a come to Jesus meeting on Saturday. No, the meeting was not actually with the real Jesus, but with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who obviously informed her that if she wanted to preserve her political career – and her seat as Chairman of the Senate Energy Committee – she might want to get in line on the Amy Coney Barrett nomination to the Supreme Court.

Thus it was that Sen. Murkowski announced late Saturday that, hey, after further consideration, she will be voting for Judge Barrett after weeks of making noise about betraying her party one more time:

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) said on Saturday that she will vote to confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court on Monday, despite objections to taking up the nomination before the Nov. 3 election.

“I have no doubt about her intellect. I have no doubt about Judge Barrett’s judicial temperament. I have no doubt about her capability to do the job. … I have concluded that she is the sort of person we want on the Supreme Court,” Murkowski said from the Senate floor.

Murkowski, the only GOP senator to oppose then-nominee Brett Kavanaugh in 2018, was one of the last senators whose vote was in doubt.

[End]

Cocaine Mitch has obviously had his fill of Lisa Murkowski’s self-serving antics.

Judge Barrett will be confirmed by the full senate on Monday and no-doubt sworn into office later this week.

God Bless America.

That is all.

Trump Should and Will Nominate a Replacement for Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Little Lindsey Graham has another problem on his hands. On October 3, 2018, Graham, in an appearance on C-Span, promised that “If an opening comes in the last year of President Trump’s term…we’ll wait to the next election” to hold hearings and confirm the nominee. Not until the next inauguration – the next election, which is November 3.

Graham, being the little compromised cock-of-the-walk that he is, then boldly told the C-Span host to “hold the tape,” which C-Span of course did. This tape is already being used by Democrats and their media toadies like Jonathan Karl as a hammer against Graham as the battle over the new opening on the U.S. Supreme Court heats up to what will certainly become civil war-threatening levels.

As Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Graham will get to preside over the coming hearing related to the nominee President Donald Trump (I still never tire of typing those three glorious words) sends over to congress. Mitch McConnell – Graham’s boss in the Senate, and the guy who stupidly gave Graham this committee chairmanship – has already promised that the nominee will be considered and confirmed by the Senate:

“In the last midterm election before Justice Scalia’s death in 2016, Americans elected a Republican Senate majority because we pledged to check and balance the last days of a lame-duck president’s second term. We kept our promise,” McConnell continued. “Since the 1880s, no Senate has confirmed an opposite-party president’s Supreme Court nominee in a presidential election year.”

McConnell added that “by contrast, Americans reelected our majority in 2016 and expanded it in 2018 because we pledged to work with President Trump and support his agenda, particularly his outstanding appointments to the federal judiciary.”

“Once again, we will keep our promise,” he said. “President Trump’s nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate.”

[End]

Note that, for McConnell’s rationale to be 100% certain to come about, the hearings and confirmation must take place before November 3. Because, should the President lose to Joe Biden, he would then become a “lame-duck” President, thus turning McConnell’s reasoning on its head.

That reasoning not only conflicts with Graham’s C-Span comment, it also conflicts with the statement issued in an interview earlier this week – before Ginsburg passed – by RINO Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski, who said “I would not vote to confirm a Supreme Court nominee” before the November election had come and gone. “Fair is fair,” she added without any supporting evidence that her reasoning is in any way “fair” to the country.

Murkowski did not repeat that commitment in a statement she issued last night:

Image

So, obviously she is waiting to have a conversation with McConnell before going off half-cocked again.

The other most highly-suspect GOP RINO senator in this instance, Susan Collins, took the same approach as Murkowski, lauding Ginsburg in a statement but making no commitment one way or another on holding hearings and a vote before Election Day. Collins, it should be noted, is involved a close re-election campaign (Murkowski is not) and another strong performance in confirmation hearings – like she had with the Brett Kavanaugh nomination – would help her maximize GOP voter turnout.

The nominee will almost certainly be a woman, and Amy Coney Barrett seems to be the odds-on favorite. Others on the list include Joan Larsen of Michigan, who sits on the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, Brett Grant, a 42 year-old rising star on the 11th Circuit who clerked for Justice Kavanaugh, and Allison Eid, who succeeded Justice Neil Gorsuch on the 10th Circuit Court. All are relatively young (Barrett and Larsen are 51, Eid is 55) and all have sterling records and backgrounds.

All, of course, would be mercilessly slandered and smeared by the Democrat/Media Axis of Propaganda.

For the country, Ginsburg’s death is just one more instance in which the year 2020 moves us inexorably closer to a real civil war, which the Democrats and their domestic terrorist tools in BLM and Antifa have been fomenting all summer. You should expect the rioting that magically came to a halt last Saturday after the Democrats saw their awful new polling data to start up again with renewed intensity as soon as President Trump announces his nominee.

My bet is that the Democrats will make sure that the renewed riots become so violent and destructive that the President will have no choice but to invoke the Insurrection Act prior to Election Day, which has been the Democrat plan all along.

As for Ginsburg, the nicest thing that can be said is that she was extremely tough: A 3-time cancer survivor who clung to her seat of political power for every last day she could wring out of it.

And make no mistake about it: She saw the Court and her seat on it as a political tool, nothing more. Ginsburg spent 27 long years politicizing every decision made by the Supreme Court, where she was a malevolent presence who utterly discarded the notion that the Court’s purpose was to interpret the Constitution, not to try to implement the personal feelings of the Justices themselves.

Ginsburg even managed to politicize her own death, telling an interviewer recently that “My Most Fervent Wish Is That I Not Be Replaced Until a New President Is Installed.”

Smarmy Democrats and corrupt reporters will play that up for all it’s worth. But this is hard ball politics and in that world you can, as my Daddy used to tell me, “wish in one hand and spit in the other and see which one fills up faster.”

President Trump should and will quickly nominate a replacement for Ginsburg, and the Senate should  confirm that nominee. Period.

That is all.

The Senate Math: As Predictable As This Day Will Be Long

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

You will never see Jabba the Nadler move this fast again. – As the final question in this ridiculous DC Swamp Kabuki dance came down from Chief Justice John Roberts, no one watching doubted that the “honor” of giving the final answer would go to the Bugeyed monster, Adam Schiff. After all, Schiff had dominated the mic throughout the last two days, answering at least 80% of the questions that were directed at the House “managers.” There was no reason to think the Democrats’ last gasp would go to anyone else seated at their child’s table.

But Jabba the Nadler had other ideas, and was moving his chair back even as Justice Roberts uttered his final words. Watch this clip as Pencil Neck shouts “Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!” as the little rotund congressman from New York waddles up to the mic:

This impeachment scam has been a carnival freak show from Day 1. No reason why this “historic” moment should have been any different. Take a bow, Jabba, if you’re capable of doing so.

You seriously could never in a million years make these people up.

The Senate math to come this evening is as predictable as this day will be long. – In fact, it was very much predictable several days ago, as I laid out in Tuesday’s Campaign Update. We have known all along that, when it came down to voting on whether to allow the Democrats to prolong this farce by calling witnesses, Mitch McConnell could not rely on the votes of Mitt Romney, Susan Collins or Lisa Murkowski.

He can’t rely on Romney because Romney is a mendacious snake who only ran for the Senate to try to advance his own presidential prospects. He can’t rely on Collins because Collins is up for re-election this year in the 50/50 state of Maine, and she stupidly thinks she can curry favor with Democrats in her state by trying to thread this needle, casting a vote to call witnesses followed by a vote in favor of acquitting the President. And he can’t rely on Murkowski because Murkowski is a political coward who is afraid of getting bad press from the Anchorage newspaper.

So those three will all vote in favor of calling witnesses, and Romney is so mendacious that he might well vote in favor of removing the President from office.

McConnell’s job all along has been to find a way to keep any of the other RINOs in his caucus – and there are many – from joining those three on this witness vote. The corrupt media and their Democrat masters have done everything they can think of to pressure Cory Gardner and Lamar Alexander to become the decisive fourth Republican siding with the enemy, but both of those men signaled yesterday that they won’t do Nancy Pelosi’s bidding here.

So, this math would leave us with a 50/50 vote in the Senate, and by rule, that means the motion would fail. There is some speculation that the Chief Justice might attempt to step in and somehow cast a “tie-breaking” vote, but his role is simply to preside over the trial, and he does not have the power to cast votes like a Vice President would during a normal Senate session.

Roberts has been subjected to pressure by the Democrats and their corrupt media toadies to make a unilateral decision to force witnesses into this trial. He could theoretically do that, but doing so would create massive public outrage, and not just among the President’s supporters. Most Americans, regardless of political affiliation, are sick to death of this neverending farce.

It’s really hard to imagine Roberts going down this road, just as it was hard to imagine Sen. Alexander siding with the Democrats on witnesses. It just would be outside his character.

Assuming the motion to call witnesses is rejected, the next vote would be on a motion to acquit. Barring some last minute “bombshell” – which you can never discount given the depressingly dishonest nature of our corrupt news media – it is very predictable we will see a bipartisan majority vote in the President’s favor. Romney is the only RINO likely to vote to remove President Trump from office; meanwhile, Democrats Joe Manchin and Doug Jones are likely to vote to acquit. I think we will see at least one, and possibly two more Democrats do the same.

And then, it will all be over, at least for now. But the House Democrats will just go back to their chamber and continue their unending impeachment process against this President, because they know their lineup of circus clown candidate has no chance of defeating him in a fair election in November.

These people will never stop, until they are stopped.

That is all.

It’s a RINO Stampede in the U.S. Senate Now

Today’s Campaign Update, Part III
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

The Democrats continued to play out the Kavanaugh playbook in the Senate trial Monday morning, when they introduced their new star witness:

Image may contain: one or more people, eyeglasses and closeup

[Hat tip to whatever creative mind concocted this mashup.]

Yes, friends, meet Dr. Christine Blasey Bolton, the “surprise” witness the New York Times is desperately attempting to get inserted into this senate trial. As I pointed out in this morning’s piece, the Times’ “bombshell” reporting on Bolton’s book manuscript – which conveniently went up for pre-sale on Amazon about an hour after the Times’ piece was published – is designed specifically to put pressure on Senate RINOs to prolong this Democrat scam for several more weeks by agreeing with Democrats to call Bolton, and only Bolton, as a witness.

This tactic was as predictable as Chris Wallace’s liberal hackery, a veritable instant replay of the coordinated efforts by the very same Times reporters and their Democrat masters to insert the execrable liar Christine Blasey Ford into the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation process, just when it appeared certain he had the votes necessary to be confirmed. It’s like page 7 of the official Democrat/Media playbook.

Equally predictable have been the reactions by the three most likely RINO Usual Suspects, Mitt Romney, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski.

Romney, who has been actively looking for any pretense to side with his Democrat pals, jumped almost immediately, telling a CNN reporter early Monday morning this:

“I can’t begin to tell you how John Bolton’s testimony would ultimately play on a final decision but it’s relevant and therefore I’d like to hear it.”

Ok, yeah, sure, uh-huh. Romney, by the way, refused to say whether or not he would also support calling witnesses the Trump defense would like to see, like Joe Biden, Hunter Biden and Pencil Neck. Mitt gonna Mitt. Which is kind of like saying a dog is going to lick its own nether regions.

Next up was Susan Collins, the terminally annoying Senator from Maine. As is her habit, Collins issued a statement that had been carefully crafted by her staff talking points monkeys, which revealed her own weak-kneed posture and smeared her GOP colleagues by claiming “a number” of them were having second thoughts as well:

“The reports about John Bolton’s book strengthen the case for witnesses and have prompted a number of conversations among my colleagues,” Collins said in a statement.

Collins, who unlike Romney is up for re-election this year, apparently believes she finds strength by pretending to hide among “numbers.” She’s wrong.

Murkowski did what Murkowski pretty much always does, and vainly attempted to find a way to triangulate her way through it with this mushy non-answer:

“I stated before that I was curious as to what John Bolton might have to say … I’ve also said there is an appropriate time for us to evaluate whether we need additional information —that time is almost here,” Murkowski said in a statement.

So, the more pressure the corrupt media applied on behalf of the Democrats, the more weaselly these three will inevitably become. Collins found the courage to do the right thing in the case of Kavanaugh, but that was two full years before she had to stand for re-election. With November looming just 10 months away, you would not want to bet the family farm on her acting with similar integrity now.

Sadly, she is probably the strongest of the three. Romney hates the President and will do pretty much anything he believes will damage this administration, without regard for the good of the country. Murkowski will do whatever her focus groups tell her to do at the end of the day. Collins is really the only semi-independent actor of the bunch.

Of course, Mitch McConnell can lose those three and still have 50 votes to deny the Democrats the ability to call witnesses. The big question here is whether the media pressure can convince a fourth RINO to jump in bed with the enemy.

The two who have been targeted by the media are Cory Gardner of Colorado and Lamar Alexander of Tennessee. Gardner has been a pretty solid Trump supporter, but appears vulnerable here because he is facing a very tough re-election campaign himself against former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper. But it’s hard to see how voting with the Democrats on this question would help Gardner’s chances in November, so if the Times is counting on him, they’re probably pissing up a tree.

Alexander is supposed to be somehow malleable on this because he is a “Senate traditionalist,” which I find to be a bizarre argument. No one is more of a “traditionalist” than Mitch McConnell, who practically lives and breathes Senate tradition, and you don’t see the media speculating about him.

Outside of those two, it becomes very hard to imagine who that fourth vote might be. The Times and Democrats are most likely going to have to conspire to spring another Kavanaugh-like surprise on the Senate in order to get to their 4-RINO goal.

The stampede is on, but it isn’t quite big enough to break through that fence line just yet.

That is all.

The Fake News is Flying Over the Senate Impeachment Trial

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

CBS was the Deep State’s choice to run with the Monday narrative-setting piece. – The Democrat/Media/Deep State pressure campaign on several GOP senator related to the upcoming Senate trial of President Donald Trump continued to mount on Monday. CBS News became the chosen vessel to run with yet another story based on an anonymous “source” designed to pressure not only the Usual Suspects among the Republican caucus, but also to add to their numbers.

From the CBS fake report:

Washington — The White House is preparing for some Republican senators to join Democrats in voting to call witnesses in President Trump’s impeachment trial, which could get underway in the coming days.

Senior White House officials tell CBS News they increasingly believe that at least four Republicans, and likely more, will vote to call witnesses. In addition to Senators Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, Mitt Romney of Utah and possibly Cory Gardner of Colorado, the White House also views Rand Paul of Kentucky as a “wild card” and Senator Lamar Alexander of Tennessee as an “institutionalist” who might vote to call witnesses, as one official put it.

Last week, Collins said she was working with a “fairly small group” of GOP senators to allow new testimony, adding that her colleagues “should be completely open to calling witnesses.” Romney has expressed an interest in hearing from former national security adviser John Bolton, who has said he would testify under subpoena. Murkowski said last week that the Senate should proceed as it did during the 1999 Clinton impeachment trial.

Note the story leads by naming the Usual Suspects who everyone knows are the most likely RINOs to go off the rails on any issue: Mitt Romney, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, the three who can most often be relied upon to go squishy whenever the going gets tough. But the media knows that they need to pressure at least one more Republican squish to side with their Democrat buddies in order to get anything done, so now they are moving to add to the list. In fact, they may even need more than four GOP traitors, since Democrats Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Doug Jones of Alabama would both pay dearly back at home for supporting this impeachment scam.

So, first Republican name up? Cory Gardner of Colorado, who is facing a tough re-election campaign against former Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper. Oh, hey, and it’s purely a coincidence that, on the day on which this unsourced CBS story is published, Gardner suddenly gets attacked by a group led by Kellyanne Conway’s piggish husband George:

A group run by anti-Trump conservatives has released an advertisement targeting one of the most vulnerable Republican senators, Colorado Sen. Cory Gardner.

Gardner, 45, has one of the toughest reelection campaigns in the nation as the centrist Republican attempts to maintain his seat with President Trump on the ballot next to him. Trump lost Colorado in 2016 by 4.9%, and the Cook Political Report listed Gardner’s seat as a toss-up.

The Lincoln Project, a group led by George Conway, the husband of Trump’s counselor Kellyanne Conway, Steve Schmidt, John Weaver, and Rick Wilson, targeted Gardner for siding with Trump on several issues. The advertisement opens with the question, “Why are you losing?” and proceeds to blame Gardner’s tight reelection race on his relationship with Trump.

Now, Conway’s group doesn’t have much of a budget to pay for running the ad, but boy is it getting tons of free play in the corrupt news media. Funny how that happens.

Next up on the list of potential GOP turncoats is Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, who we just saw last week tossing a hissy fit with his libertarian buddy, Utah Senator Mike Lee, coming out a White House briefing on the situation with Iran. Oddly, the CBS article does not mention Sen. Lee as another potential Democrat ally. Frankly, I think he’s more likely to go rogue than Sen. Paul.

Finally, CBS goes after Lamar Alexander of Tennessee because he’s supposedly an “institutionalist,” whatever that means in the demented minds of corrupt reporters and editors. Honestly, that’s probably because the corrupt media always goes after Sen. Alexander in situations like this. They did the same thing during the Democrat fiasco over the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, and failed. I honestly don’t see Sen. Alexander as a problem here.

And think about this where Alexander the “institutionalist” is concerned: No one in the history of the U.S. Senate was more of an “institutionalist” than the current Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell. Funny, we don’t see any corrupt media articles speculating about Cocaine Mitch, do we?

So, at the end of the day, what we have here is yet another narrative-setting piece for the Deep State. It’s a fake report based on zero named “sources,” and most likely no real source with any knowledge of the situation at all. The only “facts” on which it is based are a couple of off-hand comments made by Collins and Murkowski to local reporters in their home states. The one statement – by Collins – that is recounted by CBS could mean nothing more than that she ran into Senators Murkowski and Paul in the Hallway of Hart Senate Office Building and chatted with them for a couple of minutes about whether or not they wanted to hear testimony from Hunter Biden about the various illegitimate children he has fathered in several different states.

Here is what we do know:

  1. Mitch McConnell completely rolled Nancy Pelosi in the political gamesmanship leading up to this trial;
  2. Lacking any leverage whatsoever, Pelosi will transmit the articles of impeachment over to the Senate in the coming days;
  3. McConnell has the 51 votes he needs to proceed with the trial using the same Senate rules that were employed during the trial of Bill Clinton;
  4. Pelosi’s house managers – most likely Adam Schiff and Jabba the Nadler, which will be a hoot – will present the Democrats’ sham case;
  5. After that part of the trial has been completed, then and only then will there potentially be a vote to call witnesses who did not testify during the House’s Soviet-style hearings;
  6. Nobody – not CBS, the senators or anyone else – knows how any of these Republican senators will vote when that time comes.

So, get used to this kind of sham story from the corrupt media. With the Senate trial set to begin early next week, the pressure campaign on these and possibly additional GOP senators will only continue to mount. It’s going to be like the Kavanaugh fiasco all over again: The hit pieces will only become increasingly shrill as the Democrats become increasingly desperate as they see their impeachment scam failing to change minds.

Yes, it’s all despicable. Yes, it’s demented, and depraved, and disgusting. But hey, this is Democrats and their corrupt media toadies we’re talking about here – you expected something else?

That is all.

Cocaine Mitch Has Outflanked San Fran Nan

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Never, never, ever underestimate the ability of Mitch McConnell to work the process in the Senate. – Mitch McConnell told a very disappointed group of corrupt reporters on Tuesday that he now has the 51 Republican votes he needs to move forward with the very same Senate rules for a Senate trial on Nancy Pelosi’s ridiculous articles of impeachment that were used to govern the Senate trail of Bill Clinton.

As reported by U.S. News and World Report:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he has the votes to start President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial as soon as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi releases the documents, winning support from GOP senators to postpone a decision on calling witnesses.

The announcement Tuesday was significant, enabling McConnell to bypass for now Democratic demands for new testimony as he launches the third impeachment trial in the nation’s history. It could begin this week if Pelosi sends the articles of impeachment to the Senate.

What this means is that no more than two of the three RINO Usual Suspect senators – Mitt Romney, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski – who have been targeted by the corrupt media for pressure campaigns designed to bully them into breaking party ranks have taken the bait.

As we cautioned you here at the Campaign Update the day after Christmas, you have to take media reports of senators going wobbly on this impeachment matter with a grain of salt. That was the day when the corrupt media went wild with a report that Murkowski had told an Anchorage, Alaska reporter that she was “disturbed” when she heard McConnell state that he would be working “hand in glove” with counsel for the President to determine how the Senate trial would be managed.

The press went crazy again last week, when Sen. Collins made a similar statement of “concern” about the process and indicated she was “open” to calling additional witnesses in the Senate. Well, at least one of those two ladies, and maybe both of them, have now indicated to the Senate Majority Leader that their concerns do not rise to the level of siding with a bunch of seditious Democrats who are attempting to execute a coup d’etat on U.S. soil.

You can say what you want to about these two ladies being “squishy” – which they both undeniably are on several specific issues – but it is a drastic error and completely unfair to them to equate their squishiness to being disloyal to the country, as the Democrats have become. One would think that the performance by Collins in supporting the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court would have schooled everyone on this regard forever where she is concerned.

Process-wise, what McConnell’s reaching this 51-vote threshold means is that, whenever San Fran Nan decides to finally release her sham articles of impeachment to the Senate, this is what will happen:

  • Chief Justice John Roberts will convene the Senate trial, with all 100 senators – including the four Democrats who are still presidential candidates – required to be in attendance for 6 days every week until the trial concludes;
  • The House Managers – a set of both Democrat and Republican House members – will present the case for impeachment, which will consume several days;
  • The lawyers for President Trump will then present his case, which will also likely consume several days;
  • Then and only then will the Senate hold a procedural vote to determine whether or not it will call additional witnesses;
  • More than likely, unless there is some major development related to Ukraine between now and then, the Senate will vote to dismiss the case at that time. That assumes that McConnell, the master of Senate process, can hold his 51 votes together.

All in all, assuming McConnell holds his majority together, the trial in the Senate will consume about two weeks.

Pelosi will now come under great pressure from the Democrat presidential candidates to go ahead and release the articles so that this can all play out prior to the Iowa caucuses that will take place on February 3. However, she wants to keep them in-hand until the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals rules on a pending case that would, if  it goes the Democrats’ way, give them access to the Mueller Witch Hunt grand jury material and potentially allow the House Democrats to enforce their sham subpoenas. But oral arguments were just heard in that case last Friday, and it could be weeks before any decision is rendered.

So, bottom line: Mitch McConnell has completely out-maneuvered Pelosi on this. She is now in a corner, clinging to a tactic that has failed to move public opinion against the President, and utterly failed to move any GOP senators into the pro-removal column.

Somebody go make her a Bloody Mary. She’s going to need one this morning. Maybe two.

That is all.

On a Slow News Thursday the Media Just Made the ‘News’ up

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

The two biggest news ‘stories’ on December 26 weren’t ‘news’ at all.  – The fake news media went semi-wild with two stories on Thursday, pushing them relentlessly hour after hour on a day that was otherwise devoid of sexy stories to push.

The first was about GOP Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski, who all the leftists in the corrupt media establishment are praying will be one of the RINOs in the Senate who will vote to remove President Trump from office in a Senate trail, assuming there ever actually is such a thing. Hey, she was a spineless traitor on the Kavanaugh nomination after she was filmed being bullied in the hallway by Dianne Feinstein – why wouldn’t she commit the ultimate betrayal against a President she has never liked?

It’s a valid question, and it might even happen eventually. The problem is that today’s story being pushed by the corrupt media doesn’t really give us any indication one way or the other.

Here’s what happened: Murkowski was asked by a local Anchorage TV reporter if she approved of the promise made by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell that he would conduct a Senate trial “in total coordination” with White House lawyers. Murkowski answered that “When I heard that, I was disturbed.”

Ok, so, the spineless RINO was disturbed. Murkowski then went onto say this:

“We have to take that step back from being hand in glove with the defense,” Murkowski told KTUU. “And so [when] I … heard what Leader McConnell had said, I happened to think that that has further confused the process.”

Ok, so, the spineless RINO is disturbed and thinks McConnell has confused the process when in fact he has crystal clarified it. What else would we expect from a spineless RINO who desperately wants to pretend to be all things to all people instead of standing on something resembling political principle? The truth is that Murkowski’s dissembling here was exactly what anyone who pays any attention to her normal behavior would have expected from her. It would have been a shock had she in fact said anything else.

But it is a long way from a principle-devoid Senator dissembling as a means of getting a pesky reporter off her back to actually casting a vote to remove a duly-elected President from office. Murkowski’s statement here was not ‘news;’ it was just another day at the office for her.

Then there’s the other story that ‘broke’ early in the afternoon about dead former Senator John McCain funneling “5 reports by Christopher Steele” to James Comey in late 2017. This ‘news’ is contained in the report by DOJ IG Michael Horowitz, a report that was made public on December 9, which was two-and-a-half weeks ago.

This is news? Really? McCain’s efforts to distribute reports funneled to him and his staff by Steele have been well known since early 2018. This business about “five separate reports” is nothing but wordplay. All five of those Steele-manufactured “reports” ended up being included in the infamous fake Dossier, and the thought that the FBI was not aware of their existence until they were handed to Comey by McCain is absurd.

But hey, it was that rarest of rare things of the Trump presidency today – a very slow news day – so the people pushing ‘news’ 24 hours a day to attract viewers and website clicks were desperate.

For the rest of us, it’ll be a relief when the holidays are over and we are back to having half a dozen real news cycles every day.

That is all.

Week in Review: The Kavanaugh Battle is Won but the War Rages on

Today’s Campaign Update – Week in Review

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Well, the deal is done.  Every senator voted the way they had previously signaled they would today, and Judge Brett Kavanaugh will now become Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, and there’s not a damn thing the Democrats, the fake news media or their George Soros-funded professional activist proxy groups can do about it.

But make no mistake about it: these depraved, demented and disgraceful Democrats and their willing tools in the U.S. news media are not going to go softly into that good night where this Supreme Court fight is concerned.  They fully expected their strategy here to work, that Kavanaugh would willingly pull himself from consideration when faced with an array of accusers leveling all sorts of false attacks on his character, his family and his life.  Surely, they believed, he would concede rather than put his family through such a trial by fire, and President Trump would be relieved to have him do so.

Boy, did they miscalculate.  President Trump is not a quitter, and neither, we discovered, is Brett Kavanaugh.  Even more, we also found out that Senate Republicans like Lindsey Graham, Mitch McConnell and even Susan Collins were no longer willing to just shrink away in the name of some fool’s notion of Senate “comity” and surrender like they had almost always done in the past.

But the Democrats will continue pounding on the Kavnaugh issue at least through Election Day, and will no doubt attempt to mount an impeachment fight should they end up gaining a majority in the House of Representatives.  Because for them, this is and always has been about nothing but preserving Roe v. Wade, the most baseless decision ever issued by the U.S. Supreme Court, in the law, and thus preserving abortion on demand.

Going into this fight, they really believed they could stop Kavanaugh, win a majority in the House and the Senate (which is not going to happen), and force President Trump nominate a compromise candidate for the seat, maybe even Merrick Garland.  They truly believed they could achieve this.  That’s how depraved their minds really are.

Now, they’ve lost on Kavanaugh, have basically no chance of winning a majority in the Senate, and see their advantage in House races rapidly slipping away. They also see that Ruth Bader Ginsberg can’t even hold her head up or get two cogent sentences out of her mouth anymore, meaning that if something radical is not done, the new 5-4 originalist advantage on the Court could soon become a 6-3 advantage, from which they could probably never recover.

So, being the soulless, demented ghouls that they are,  they will now attempt to make the mid-term elections a referendum on soon-to-be-Justice Kavanaugh and plan to mount an impeachment war on him should they win the House.  Thus, the battle is won, but the war goes on.

All that having been said, let’s get to the Campaign Update Week in Review, this time in the form of the week’s biggest losers and winners:

LOOOOOOOOOOOOSERS:

Chuck Schumer – The Senate Minority Leader said this in his speech on Saturday: “Let the confirmation process for Judge Kavanaugh be recorded as a sorry epilogue to the brazen theft of Justice Scalia’s seat.” The fact is that Senate Republicans blocked Merrick Garland’s nomination by following a precedent Schumer himself had loudly advocated, and were able to confirm Kavanaugh with just 50 votes thanks to the effort led by Schumer and Harry Reid to eliminate the filibuster on judicial nominations.  Little Chucky was hoist on his on petard, and it could not have happened to a nicer guy.

The Creepy Porn Lawyer – Came up with not one, but two “clients” whose claims were so outrageously false that even the fakenewsers at CNN and MSNBC did their best to ignore them.

The Fake News Media – The “reporting” on the Kavanaugh process was so despicably one-sided that the newsfakers even lost Morning Joe and Mika.  That’s quite an accomplishment.

Democrat Senate candidates in “Red” states – Heidi Heitcamp went to bed a week ago ahead in her race against Republican Kevin Cramer, and woke up Wednesday morning trailing by 12 points.  Claire McCaskill now finds herself down by 8 in Missouri.  Other Dems running in red states saw similar shifts in their poll numbers as normal Americans became increasingly enraged by their party’s obvious smear job on Kavanaugh.

Dianne Feinstein – Revealed herself to the entire nation as a snake who cannot be trusted with power.  GOP Senate candidates should be using her in their campaign ads.

Lisa Murkowski – Looked small and petty in her speech opposing Kavanaugh on absurdly flimsy grounds.  Set herself up to be primaried by a real Republican when she’s up for re-election in 2022.

Jeff Flake – for obvious reasons that I have previously detailed and really don’t want to talk about anymore.

Cory Booker – Turned himself into a running joke with his Spartacus moment.

Leftist Protesters – this tweet came across my feed as I was typing up this Review:

That’s just all kinds of awesome.

WINNERS:

The American People – The vote to confirm Kavanaugh is a victory for the presumption of innocence, the rights of the accused, the rules of evidence and just plain common sense.

Christine Ford – Yes, she’s been exposed as a mendacious fraud, a practiced liar who conspired with an array of lawyers, current and ex-FBI agents and despicable reporters to smear a good man, but Ms. Ford will clear $1.5 to $2 million from her various GoFundMe accounts and will now be elevated as a hero of the American left, a la Anita Hill. She’ll make millions in speaking fees, be awarded pretty much whatever political job she wants, and will no doubt be deified in a Hollywood film staring Meryl Streep within a year.

Lindsey Graham – As I detailed in the Campaign Update last Friday, Graham’s dramatic speech during the Ford/Kavanaugh hearing literally changed the course of history, and will forever change for the better the way he is regarded by the GOP voter base.

Susan Collins – Her speech on Friday was pitch perfect, soundly based in process, tradition and law, and will be remembered in the history books as the moment that sealed this deal.  She is up for re-election in 2020 in a state that is evenly divided on this matter, so her determination to do the right thing and give that speech was a true profile in political courage.

Mitch McConnell – His stewardship of the Senate process this week was glorious.  Made several floor speeches that demonstrated he has learned a lot from Donald Trump on how to deal forcefully with the Democrats and their media slaves.

[EDIT]  Chuck Grassley – How could I forget the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee?  Geez.  As a reader points out, “Notwithstanding your dislike of him supporting ethanol, you forgot Chuck Grassley in the winners list. He played a masterful game to even get it to the full senate for debate.”  True story.

Brett Kavanaugh and Donald Trump – for obvious reasons.

Oh, yeah, and the American economy – The unemployment rate fell to 3.7%, the lowest since 1969, a fact our despicable news media studiously ignored.

The Los Angeles Dodgers – have played four games this week, and given up just 2 runs, ringing up three shutouts.  Clayton Kershaw pitched such a great game Friday night that he received a standing ovation from Sandy Koufax.  It don’t get no better than that, folks.

The Texas Longhorns – My boys in Burnt Orange blew a 45-24 lead to the Oklahoma Sooners in a span of 7 minutes in the 4th quarter, then came back and kicked a field goal with 9 seconds remaining to eke out a 48-45 victory in the nation’s most intense college football rivalry.

God Bless America.

That is all.

Big Winners in the Kavanaugh Fight: The American Voters

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Democrats Friday morning:  Believe the women!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Normal people:  Ok, well, Susan Collins just spent an hour making a very compelling case for why Judge Kavanaugh should be confirmed, so…

Democrats Friday afternoon:  NO, NOT HER!!!! YOU CAN’T BELIEVE HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*sigh*…

What happens when the GOP surrender caucus doesn’t surrender? – You end up getting a Supreme Court justice confirmed.

Jeff Flake didn’t have much to say all day as he did a good job of avoiding protesters, reporters and presumably elevators, but Senator Susan Collins of Maine had much to say, and what she had to say clinched the vote in favor of confirmation.  It was a magnificent speech that laid out all the reasons why Judge Kavanaugh is supremely qualified for this role, and why his opponents had utterly failed to make any legitimate case against him.

Many who lack historic perspective called Collins’ speech a “throwback” to a time when the Senate was, as its traditionalists like to pretend, “the greatest deliberative body on earth,” but that is a lot of nonsense.  The truth is that the U.S. Senate has alway been a vile and nasty place filled with vile and nasty people, though I will admit that the Democrats made sure it became far more vile and nasty than normal during the course of this confirmation process.

Sadly for the people of Alaska, Senator Lisa Murkowski made her own floor speech later in the day, looking small and petty in comparison to Collins as she ended up trying to justify her “no” vote on some ill-defined concern that Kavanaugh might rule against her state’s Native Americans.  This is also nonsense – Murkowski’s political calculation here is all about her support for abortion on demand, and everyone knows it.

But even Murkowski had one redeeming moment, stating that, in the final confirmation vote today, she had agreed to vote “present” as a gesture of collegiality with Montana’s Steve Daines, who will now be able to fly to his home state and walk his daughter down the aisle at her wedding.

So, the Surrender Caucus didn’t surrender, and the Senate will end up doing the right thing at the end of a very sad and tawdry process for America.  But the damage by the Democrats and to the Democrats has been done, and millions of American voters have had their eyes opened to that party’s despicable true nature.  They will pay for their destructive and vicious tactics at the polls this November and in 2020.

Um…can we, like, change our minds now that we’re gonna lose? – Rumors were flying Friday evening that some of the Democrat Senators whose re-elections are in jeopardy were meeting to try to make a deal to change their “noes” on Friday’s cloture vote to “yes’s” on today’s confirmation vote.  Supposedly, this includes North Dakota’s Heidi Heitcamp, Indiana’s Joe Donnelly, Missouri’s Claire McCaskill, Montana’s Jon Tester and Florida’s Bill Nelson.

Should they do that, it would just demonstrate the typical Democrat utter contempt for the intelligence of voters.  Democrats rely on their belief that the people inclined to vote for them are complete morons, and all to often, they end up being right.  But in this instance, their party has already spent the last month demonizing this man as the second coming of Satan, pounding that message home across the nation’s TV screens seemingly 24 hours a day.

That’s a real hard thing to now just go back from.  You can’t just tell your support base that “Brett Kavanaugh is a violent drunk gang rapist!” on Friday and then wake up Saturday and say “Ok, well, but he’s fully qualified to sit on the Supreme Court!”.  Even the dimmest bulbs in the Democrat light fixture are going to have a hard time rewarding them for that sort of 180 degree turn.

Heitcamp and McCaskill are probably done in any event, so don’t expect a shift from them.  Donnelly, Tester and Nelson?  They’re probably craven and desperate enough to give it a try.  Regardless, their votes don’t matter at the end of the day, so whatevs, dudes.

Winners and losers… – I’ll do a listing of the week’s winners and losers in the Campaign Update Week In Review later day, or possibly tomorrow if the voting runs into the evening, but there is one yuuuuuuuuge winner in all of this that everyone needs to acknowledge: the American voter.  Because the American voter rose up in 2016 and decided to change the course of American history.

As voters went to the polls on November 8, 2016, our country was rapidly slouching towards becoming just another dying, European-style quasi-socialist, quas-democracy.  Every institution of the federal government, from the FBI to the DOJ, the state department to the EPA, the IRS to the National Security Council and on and on, had been utterly corrupted by eight years of Barack Obama.  Even the nation’s courts have been corrupted, as all the absurd rulings we’ve seen out of Obama-appointed judges over the last two years have demonstrated clearly.  The elevation of Hillary Clinton to the presidency would have ensured the completion of that trajectory, and the corruption would have only accelerated and ultimately become irreversible.

But just as the GOP Surrender Caucus rose up and refused to surrender on Friday, millions of voters all the “experts” told us would surely either stay home or vote for Clinton rose up, went to the polls, and cast a vote for real, radical change.  And boy, has Donald Trump given us that over the last two years.

Through just 20 months in office, President Donald Trump (I never tired of typing those three glorious words) has done away with about 90% of the wholly un-American Obama legacy, reasserted American influence and power across the globe, reduced ISIS to rubble and Islamic terrorism to more a nuisance than a security threat.

And later today, barring some last-minute seismic event, he will have achieved what Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and both George Bushes could not:  a 5-4 constitutional originalist majority on the U.S. Supreme Court.

Perhaps even more importantly, President Trump has provided an example that appears to be finally sinking in among his GOP colleagues:  That when you are viciously attacked by the depraved Democrats, the proper response is not to give them the “olive branch”, i.e., surrender they seek, but to fight back with everything you’ve got.

Make no mistake about it:  Donald Trump is the only GOP President in modern times who would have stuck with Judge Kavanaugh through this terrible, despicable assault on his character.  Even Reagan pulled the plug on Bob Bork when he was under similar duress.  The Bushes?  Please.

You, the American voters, gave us this indispensable man.  You, the American voters, created the victory that should take place this afternoon.

So pat yourselves on the back, voters, because you deserve it.  You made this.

That is all.
