Concede? Surrender? Never.

Guest Piece by Karen Kataline

After the US Supreme Court refused to hear the Texas case citing a “lack of standing,” a few more Republicans are calling for Trump to concede. Some are even people we know and love.

Apart from corrupt Republicans who are part of a larger “deep-state” than we ever could have imagined, there is another group who rely heavily on their vast and past experience in politics. They think of this election as just another pendulum swing and we’ll “get ’em next time.”

They focus on sportsmanship, statesmanship and appearances.  Perhaps noble in other circumstances, it makes no sense on a political chess board that is unlike any this country has ever seen before. Our opponents have crossed the Rubicon and intend to take this country by force. If they succeed, there won’t be a “next time.”  This is for all the marbles.

John Andrews, is a former President of the Colorado Senate and a man I respect very much.  He recently posted a piece entitled, Twilight for Trump: Knowing when to Fold ’em.

Andrews’ calls it a “pleasant and touching little dream” that “for the good of the country and his own place in history” that Trump should “do the right thing” and concede the election.

How could it possibly be good for the country to allow wholesale election fraud to stand, and continue the Left’s destruction of every one of our precious Bill of Rights on their final march to a one-world, socialist/communist government?  They’ve made it clear that they hate America because it has stood in the way of this. Donald Trump has boldly stood in the way of this.

As surely as I’ve ever believed anything, I believe that it is for the supreme good of the country that the truth about corruption, collusion and sedition be revealed to the public wherever it leads. Politicians have been lying about their true intentions for decades. Un-elected bureaucrats have had immense power to which they were not entitled. Those who have engaged in crimes against America and its citizens must be held accountable. Our country cannot and will not survive if they are not.

In some respects, these times are more dire than WWII because we are being attacked from within and by our fellow Americans. This is what our heroic fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers gave their lives to protect and preserve. Knowing and fully understanding that is absolutely what is best for the country.

Even after watching Trump for more than four years it is fascinating how many people continue to misread him. He still uses that to his advantage.

The Left continues to smear him as an egomaniac but once again that’s a projection. Sadly,  some conservatives believe it. Trump is not contesting this fraudulent election out of ego. He knows he is the last impediment to their plan to impose communism in America. Think that’s a conspiracy theory?  Look carefully at 2020.

November 3, 2020 was always about more than Donald Trump and he has shown again and again that he knows it. Unfortunately, there are still some well-meaning people who do not.

“This is the lesson: never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense.”

–Winston Churchill

Democrat Claim of Systemic Racism is a Bitter Pill to Swallow

Guest Piece by Karen Kataline

As Democrats continue to put all their eggs in the “America is a racist country” basket, courageous black Americans are leaving the Democrat plantation in significant numbers to support Donald Trump.

Here’s a perfect example: Ohio Democrat State Rep just went public and endorsed Trump for re-election. Why should that require courage?

It has been clear for decades that it serves the Democrat agenda for the great majority of blacks and other minorities to be dependent on government without whose “largesse” they could not survive. Minorities were just the first. This is the plan they are now expanding to impose on everyone.

Democrats therefore, have a vested interest in the narrative that black people cannot get ahead in “racist America.”  That narrative actually feeds on itself because if one believes it,   why bother trying?

Democrats viciously discount and demean highly successful blacks unless they pay lip-service to the notion that others still cannot be so successful.  See: Oprah Winfrey

Consequently, black conservatives are among the greatest threats to the Left & the Democrat Party because they defy their narrative and actively speak out against it. The list of black conservatives who are hated or ignored is getting longer: Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Larry Elder, Herman Cain, Candace Owens and many more.

Yet, it’s still extremely difficult for good people of all colors to go that next step and acknowledge that Democrats and their strategists don’t want minorities to be successful or self-sufficient. They like it better when blacks are poor, angry and lawless.

See? it’s tough to read the preceding paragraph because it sounds so mean.  Why?  We’ve gotten to the point where it’s meaner to acknowledge the truth than the ugly truth itself.

Sadly, Democrat policies have succeeded very well in accomplishing their aims. Inner cities are filled with poverty, anger and crime and yes, they are all run by Democrats. Nevertheless,  It’s still easier to believe that they’re not deliberate–just incompetent.

It’s a tough pill for people of good will to swallow. We don’t want to believe that so many of our fellow citizens could be so heartless on purpose.

That doesn’t mean that all Democrats are deliberate. Those who continue to stick with the Party despite these revelations and results, often do so because they want to believe that it is still the Democrat party that is compassionate, inclusive and the party of the underdog. By extension, that makes them those things too.

Like the  “wrap-up smear” the false narrative of “systemic racism” continues to create more rage, misery and yes, actual racism. Then, they inevitably lecture us about fairness, decency, civility and of course, racism.

Methinks the Party doth protest too much

Masking the Truth: It’s not about the Virus, It’s about Obedience

Guest Piece by Karen Kataline

The Left has sprinted past what we previously thought was a line in the sand between personal freedom and forced, state dictates for personal behavior.

The breach of that boundary has led to numerous other fundamental rights crumbling to dust along with our historical monuments.

There is still time to restore those boundaries and our rights but only if we start telling the truth en masse and defying unjust edicts from lawless lawmakers.  Sadly, we can no longer depend that there will be enough lawful lawmakers to protect our liberties. We must protect them.

Coronavirus is still being used as an excuse to crack down on our freedoms despite false projections that even the CDC dramatically ratcheted down months ago.

Democrat governors and other politicians are refusing to relinquish the “emergency powers” they have awarded to themselves that allowed them to continue lock downs and restrictions of citizens and their businesses on their whim.

As if they somehow thought of it independently, they continue to act simultaneously to tighten their demands and micromanage our lives.  They have now moved from suggesting to demanding that we all, no matter our health, risk level, or opinion are to be forced to wear masks in public. What a perfect and ever-present reminder that we are not in charge of our lives. They are.

Even weak-willed Republicans like Governor Greg Abbott of Texas have become lost in this masquerade.

It doesn’t matter whether masks work or make sense. It only matters that it has been a wildly successful tool for obedience training in collectivism for Americans. Socialism can’t take hold without it.

The avowed and secret socialists among us are engaged in an all-out battle to punish America for being built precisely on that individualism and for flourishing because of a constitution that was created to protect it.

While Democrat tacticians have their Democrat politicians ramping up threats of fines and jail time for refusing to wear a mask, they’re also pushing the idea that masks are “cool.”  There is a whole new cottage industry that is marketing masks as an opportunity to make a “signature” fashion statement. There’s nothing quite like superficial individuality to “mask” one’s prostration to serfdom and conformity.

Savvy watchers of the Left were suspicious early on when they noticed a familiar Leftist tactic being warmed up and served for public consumption. They went to work making it socially acceptable to vilify dissenters and brand them as selfish. They rush to reward it.

How dare anyone question the efficacy of masks or the use of bullying and intimidation to force Americans to comply?  How dare anyone care about their own personal freedom and the freedom of their fellow citizens, even those too ignorant or complacent to care?  “We’re in the middle of a pandemic!” They scold, self-righteously.

Masks create further alienation and suspicion between friends, neighbors and business associates. They muzzle us while helping snitches to easily identify dissenters.

We have seen how deadly the combination of collectivism and social bullying can be. It can often lead to mob rule and violence. At that point, politicians don’t have to worry about enforcing their unconstitutional orders. The mob does it for them.

Masks also blur the lines between criminals and law-abiding citizens. We are indistinguishable from Antifa and other groups who now commit heinous crimes in plain sight and with impunity. The backward subliminal message is that masked people are law-abiding and unmasked people are criminals.

After watching the same Democrat politicians refuse to impose their own orders on rioters, looters and vandals, their credibility is lower than the fatality rate of the coronavirus.

In light of such a blatant dereliction of duty to protect their innocent constituents, they still have the chutzpah to claim that it is compassion that compels them to order us to wear masks.

The good news is that a growing number of people believe that these suffocating orders are ridiculous and even dangerous. The bad news is that most still only whisper it in muffled tones behind their cloth masks.

As we have seen, complying with the orders of authoritarians only brings more authoritarianism. Masks will continue to be a major battleground on which we can beat it back.

Previously polite, law-abiding citizens must unmask themselves and let their voices be heard. Unlike their oppressive opposition, they have little interest in vilifying those who choose to wear a mask for their own reasons.

In the 1982 film, Ben Kingsley portrayed Gandhi as saying, “100,000 Englishmen simply cannot control 350 million Indians, if those Indians refuse to cooperate.”

It’s time to stop cooperating.

The People Answer the Mayday Call of Distress

Guest Piece by Karen Kataline

In the beloved film, The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy learns that she never needed a phony wizard to help her go home. She had the power all along.

Asked why she didn’t tell Dorothy this in the first place, the Witch of the North explains that Dorothy had to find that out for herself.

Under the guise of the changing facts of coronavirus, false and misleading statistics, inflated projections and even more inflated egos, elected officials and un-elected bureaucrats have robbed healthy, law-abiding citizens of their liberties.

After compliance, patience, and reasonable concern about the unknown effects of the virus, a growing number of Americans have discovered that they don’t have to beg bureaucrats for their freedoms. They had the power to reclaim them all along, but they had to find it out for themselves.

Numerous Constitutional Law experts have said that even a state of emergency does not entitle a Governor to suspend the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. They have the responsibility to impose the least possible restrictions on our fundamental freedoms. According to Rob Natelson of the Independence Institute, this has been tested in two cases, and governors’ orders have lost both.

Democrat Governors, in particular, have done just the opposite. By the time a case like this would ever reach the Supreme Court, bankruptcies abound and businesses would be long gone.

Is it any wonder that Democrats have been going for broke to overthrow Donald Trump in part, so we will have a Supreme Court of activist Justices rather than originalists?

The landmark “Gridlock Event” that began in Michigan spurred similar events around the country. They have flummoxed Democrat Governors, many of whom have continued to tighten restrictions on citizens despite any new or changing information.

Some, like Colorado Governor,  Jared Polis responded to the Gridlock Denver event the next day and announced that he was lifting most Stay-at-Home orders on April 27th. But he included a long list of demands and recommendations along with it and continued to suggest that saying at home was safer. He must not have read the latest information that sunshine kills the virus.

Among the numerous groups that have cropped up from the rallies is one called MaydayUSA.com which isn’t letting up.  They are encouraging businesses to open on or before May 1 with or without the government’s permission. They encourage precautions but respect the rights of business owners to make those decisions for themselves.

The significance of the 1st day of May carries with it a long and varied history. “Mayday” is an internationally known call of distress.  “May Day” has also been a celebration of spring, and Socialists and Communists chose the day to commemorate the Haymarket Affair on May 4, 1886.

MaydayUSA endeavors to add a new meaning to May Day.  It was the day in 2020, when free markets, individual freedom capitalism won out over socialism, government control and tyranny.

Communism vs. Freedom. Liberty vs. Tyranny. That is destined to be the overriding issue in the re-election campaign of Donald Trump on November 3.

Does anyone remember that? I don’t think the Democrats have ever forgotten.

Buttigieg Touts Less Government, but only when it’s about Abortion and Infanticide

Guest Piece by Karen Kataline

The View‘s Meghan McCain recently sought a clearer answer from Mayor Pete Buttigieg about his position on late-term abortion. She asked him where he drew the line and whether his position included a baby actually being born:

Buttigieg:  We live in a country where it is extremely important that no one person should have to be subject to some other person’s interpretation of their own religion.”

I wondered whether Mayor Pete thought religious freedom equally applied to say, Jack Phillips’ right not to be forced to create a custom cake for a gay wedding.  Sure enough I found a piece in the Washington Free Beacon, entitled, “Mayor Pete Will Make you Bake the Cake.”

McCain pressed again, and the Mayor of South Bend answered with rhetoric that sounded like a limited government conservative:Buttigieg: My point is that it shouldn’t be up to the government official to draw the line. It should be up the woman who is confronted with that choice.

McCain: So if a woman wanted to invoke infanticide after a baby is born, you’d be comfortable with that?

Buttigieg: … I don’t know what to tell them morally about what they should do. I just know that I trust that her decision isn’t going to be any better, medically or morally . . . because the government is telling her to do it a certain way.

He gave an almost identical answer in a televised Town Hall with Chris Wallace.

Candidate Buttigieg who is ordinarily so comfortable sermonizing to his Leftist flock couldn’t bring himself to say that it is immoral to kill a baby after it’s born.

I’ve always found it perplexing that the Left’s strong support for Obamacare never included any of this faux passion for freedom and restraint of government when it comes to actual health care.  They were more than happy to cheer for government dictates, bans and demands when it was about your heart, lungs, spleen and appendix because, “healthcare freedom” to them, begins and ends with abortion. Note to Leftists: Abortion is not “healthcare.” Neither is infanticide.

As all Democrats and Leftists should, Pete Buttigieg should be held accountable for his twisting of basic principles and of the language itself. He should also be confronted on his minuscule appreciation and understanding of one of our most fundamental constitutional principles of limited government.

A national discussion about Socialism vs. Capitalism is long overdue in these United States. It will be essential as a centerpiece of this year’s Presidential campaign. We have a vital role to play by applying the Left’s language to their own hypocrisy and to illustrate that freedom has much more to do with life than with death.

Impeachment Tuesday: Have Right and Wrong “Departed?”

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Guest Piece by Karen Kataline

On the eve of Impeachment Tuesday in the Senate, I am acutely aware of how strong the positions of people on opposite sides of this historic event are. Both believe they are right and the other side is wrong.

When it comes to the really big truths in life, I’ve never been a fan of bet-hedging or the notion that “The truth is somewhere in the middle.” There are facts and there are what you think and feel about them. Some often confuse the two.  But with so much outright propaganda in politics today, how does one determine the facts?

The dilemma reminds me of the 2006 film, “The Departed” with Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Wahlberg.

It’s a clever concept and an intricate story about a mob-connected man (Damon) who becomes a Boston cop to infiltrate the police, while an honest Boston cop with a shady past (DiCaprio) goes under cover to infiltrate the Irish mob.

It’s sort of a role reversal story but the main characters don’t know they are walking in each others’ shoes until later in the film.

When the two men finally come face to face and one captures the other, both beg a well-meaning cop to shoot the other because “He’s the bad guy.”  Since the cop doesn’t have enough information, he does the cautious thing by doing nothing.

The scene is a vivid portrayal of what happens when good is portrayed as evil and evil is portrayed as good. With enough confusion, the average citizen washes his hands of the entire situation and goes to a movie—-maybe even “The Departed” where they know it’s only a movie.

In the case of Donald Trump, the Democrats don’t believe we should consider that the same players have made numerous accusations, all of which have proven to be false—many by the Special Counsel and his team. No matter how many more false accusations they make, they are never held accountable, nor do they ever concede anything. They simply pivot to even more outlandish accusations believing they’ll never be held accountable for those either.  Their motives and misdeeds are regularly revealed to the public but of course, they simply beg us to believe that their opponents (Donald Trump and anyone who supports him and his policies) are the bad guys.

The American People will be the jury come Impeachment Tuesday. They will watch the ever-virulent Democrats try to remove a stunningly successful (even by what used to be their own standards) President, on false accusations which even if true, are not crimes. Yet, the propaganda media has managed to convince a certain segment of the population that prosperity and success are dangerous and failure is infinitely preferable.

While acquittal is the likely outcome in this exercise and Democrats have known that from the start, what is most fascinating is that they think the wholly partisan smearing of Donald Trump as an “Impeached President” will help them in November. Others, like my friend Dr. Gerard Lameiro, think it’s exactly the opposite. They say the longer Democrats keep impeachment in the foreground, the more Republicans will win. I tend to agree. So Lindsay Graham, “Cool it!”

This Tuesday, as will be the case on the first Tuesday in November, the direction we decide to go as a country won’t be just a day at the movies. We will choose between right and wrong, Big government vs. restrained government, and Capitalism vs. Communism.

With issues as big as these, it’s time to know where we stand. The best answer is not “somewhere in the middle.”

Why do Liberals like Bloomberg have a God Complex?

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

[Note: This is a guest piece from podcast and radio host Karen Kataline. Karen is the producer and host of Spouting Off, a live, Internet call-in talk show covering politics, pop culture and social psychology. Like me, Karen is a former political professional, and she has had op/eds published at places like Op Eds can be seen online at Fox News, Investor’s Business Daily, Western Journal, Town Hall, The Daily Caller, FrontPage Mag, and The American Thinker. I hope you enjoy Karen’s thoughts and share them liberally with your friends, family and worst liberal enemies.]

THERE IS AN EPIDEMIC OF FYOGISM (FOR YOUR OWN GOOD-ISM)

Former New York Mayor and Presidential candidate, Michael Bloomberg recently held a Town Hall meeting in the Denver Metro area, but the town wasn’t invited.

Among his proposals that emerged from the soundbites and photo ops was another ban on “assault style weapons” and the removal of immunity for gun makers and dealers in civil lawsuits. Bloomberg also wants to enact a federal version of “Red Flag” Gun laws.

This is hardly surprising since he has already spent a considerable amount from his vast 54 billion dollar fortune to twist the arms of state legislators around the country to impose numerous gun control laws regardless of what residents of those states might want. Never mind that he has never lived in any of those states or paid taxes in them.

When it comes to government regulations, gun control, and growing the power and scope of government, there is never a point at which Liberals or Leftists say, “Okay, that’s enough. We’re done now.”

Bloomberg for example, seems to fancy himself something of a helicopter parent for the country. He wants to protect us from a changing and growing list of perceived dangers such as sugary sodas, loud ear buds and salt.

Leftist ideology typifies the kind of narcissistic, dictatorial parents that send many adults into therapy for twenty years. Such parents tend to discourage their kids from growing up and making their own choices and mistakes. This behavior feeds their own needs, not the needs of their children.  The desire to use one’s power and resources to treat adults like children and keep them dependent is not that much different, and it is anything but generous or altruistic.

There is an epidemic of FYOGism (For your own good-ism) that is being fueled by a Left that has de-educated the young in the principles of Liberty, individual freedom, and personal responsibility on which our country was proudly founded.

Without these cornerstones, people can be easily swayed to vote for people who push policies that infringe on their neighbor’s freedoms. They don’t understand that soon, the loosening of these boundaries will infringe on their own freedoms as well.

Republicans have the moral high ground on this and a host of other issues, but they have been too afraid and ill-prepared to claim it and adequately explain it. Genuine altruism and love for one’s fellow man requires restraint from using one’s own power to control them. It requires respect for their choices even when one heartily disagrees.

Maybe that’s why it’s so important to be reminded that whatever you conceive God to be, our rights come from God and not from men.  God gave us free will but a man who thinks he’s God never does.
