Bret Baier and Jennifer Griffin do a Tag-Team Hatchet Job on President Trump

The Paul Ryanization of Fox News continued yesterday evening on the Fox Report.

Bret Baier and reporter Jennifer Griffin performed a heck of a hatchet job on President Trump last night. – On last night’s Fox Report, Baier and Griffin burnished their CNN/MSNBC cred by parroting the fake reporting of The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg, and then having Griffin cite her own anonymous “sources” to support parts of Goldberg’s story.

Which raises the question, when you have anonymous “sources” confirming what anonymous “sources” have to say, what do you really have? Well, you have gossips confirming gossips, for one thing. Griffin’s “reporting” is akin to the old days when housewives would spread neighborhood gossip while hanging clothes outside on the clothesline to dry.

Then you also have cowards confirming cowards, and what good is that to anyone? You also very likely have the exact same cowards “confirming” to Griffin what they said to Goldberg, which is even more worthless.

Meanwhile, Baier and Griffin basically ignored the dozen or so actual, real people who actually witnessed the events Goldberg portrays in his hoax piece and who have the courage to let reporters use their names, all of whom have completely refuted every accusation Goldberg makes. That dozen or so people includes Trump-hater John Bolton, who told Baier that, if he had heard the President say the things Goldberg alleges while serving as National Security Advisor he would not only have made mention of it in his recent hit book, he’d have written entire chapters about it.

Later in the fake newscast, during the nightly panel discussion, the great Mollie Hemingway did point out the fact of those dozen or so on-the-record sources and lightly criticized Griffin for ignoring them in her reporting. Baier then sat back quietly while allowing the despicable #NeverTrump nitwit Stephen Hayes to launch into a minute-long diatribe at Hemingway, something he’d never allow were the tables reversed.

Before yesterday, both Baier and Griffin had been pretty reliable purveyors of actual news. You didn’t always like what they had to report because they were trying to give you the straight skinny and communicate both sides of a story. But you felt confident in their reporting because it was pretty much always properly sourced.

That all ended on Friday. Now we know that Baier and Griffin are in fact no different from the hacks at CNN and MSNBC, perfectly willing to spread rumors damaging to the President based on nothing but the gossip handed them by cowards who are afraid to be identified in public.

If it were limited to the hour-long Fox Report, Baier’s and Griffin’s dive into the depths of rank rumor-mongering wouldn’t be that big a deal. But since their shenanigans, Griffin’s “reporting” is now being used as a tool by every fake reporter in America to claim that Goldberg’s hit piece has now been confirmed to be true. In addition, you have every host on Fox since last night’s broadcast now being required to claim that “Our own Jennifer Griffin confirmed parts of The Atlantic’s story.”

But Jennifer Griffin didn’t confirm anything. She cited cowards who confirmed parts of what other cowards told Goldberg. Or maybe she was even quoting the very same cowards Goldberg quoted – there is no way to know.

What we do know beyond any doubt after last night is this: Baier and Griffin can no longer be trusted to convey actual news to their viewers, and those of us who have watched the Fox Report as our evening newscast for years now need to find something better to do at 5:00 CT on weekdays.

This is all so liberating.

That is all.

Saturday News Roundup: Adios Tik-Tok, Bye-Bye Bolton Book Advance, and America’s Garbage News Media

The American news media is a steaming pile of rancid garbage. – Portland Riots continued last night and this morning, despite the media lies to the contrary. Here is how the corrupt, fake journalists at the  Associated Press are lying about the Portland riots this morning:

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Hundreds peacefully protested in downtown Portland Friday, two days after the announcement that the presence of U.S. agents there would be reduced — a deal that Oregon officials hope will continue to ease tensions as the city tries to move on from months of chaotic nightly protests.

The start of Friday night’s protest mimicked that of Thursday, which was the first time in weeks that demonstrations ended without any major confrontations, violence or arrests. The change in tone outside a federal courthouse that’s become ground zero in clashes between demonstrators and federal agents came after the U.S. government began drawing down its forces in the liberal city under a deal between Democratic Gov. Kate Brown and the Trump administration.

[End]

And here is the truth of what is taking place on the ground, courtesy of real journalist Andy Ngo:

On Thursday, the Trump Administration reached an agreement with communist/Democrat Mayor Ted Wheeler and communist/Governor Kate Brown to let state and local police personnel attempt to keep the rioters trying to destroy the federal courthouse in Portland at bay. So far, the experimental deal with communist thugs is going exactly as you would expect it to.

DHS Secretary Chad Wolf said on Friday that federal personnel would remain in Portland to monitor the situation, and would be prepared to step back into the fray if the Oregon law enforcement officers fail to do their jobs. Don’t expect the feds to be leaving anytime soon.

Dear John Bolton: About that $2 million book advance… – The Department of Justice moved late on Friday to convince a federal judge to order John Bolton to turn over all proceeds from his new book to the federal government.

From a piece at Brietbart:

The U.S. government has asked a federal judge in Washington to seize the $2 million book advance and any royalties paid to former Trump National Security Adviser John Bolton, who published a tell-all memoir about the Trump administration allegedly without clearing it first with the government for classified material.

The government said in a court filing Thursday that Bolton violated nondisclosure agreements when he released his memoir, The Room Where It Happened, without finishing a National Security Council (NSC) review process to make sure the book did not contain any classified material that could put U.S. national security at risk, according to Bloomberg.

The federal government initially sought to prevent the book’s publish in June, but failed since advance copies had already been sent out to numerous media outlets. However, U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth wrote in his ruling about Bolton, “He has exposed his country to harm and himself to civil (and potentially criminal) liability.”

[End]

What is that saying about ill-gotten gains? Bolton’s about to find out.

Dear CNN: Normal people call these individuals “women.” – This is an actual tweet issued by CNN on Thursday.  I swear I do not make this stuff up:

So now in our Orwellian world, our corrupt news media is moving to erase women completely in its efforts to be politically correct. All on the pretense that people who do not possess a cervix are capable of being hit with cervical cancer.

A caution to suburban housewives contemplating a vote for Joe Biden this November: A vote for Biden is a vote for the societal erasure of you and your daughters. Think carefully before taking that fatal step.

Man, all the IPhone addicted kids are gonna be whining about this one. – Lots of you adults, too, apparently. President Trump made it clear last night that he will sign an executive order to effectively ban the Tik-Tok app – whatever in the hell that is – in the United States. The reason is that the company that owns the app is suspected of sharing the data it gathers with the communist Chinese government and its military.

Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Dianne Feinstein certainly don’t have a problem with the company’s activities, but actual Americans do, so the President plans to take action.

From a report at Fox News:

President Trump told reporters late Friday that he plans to ban the social media platform TikTok from the United States as soon as Saturday.

A ban would further pressure TikTok’s Chinese parent company ByteDance to sell the app’s U.S. operations amid national security concerns about users’ personal data. Microsoft is a leading contender to buy.

“As far as TikTok is concerned, we’re banning them from the United States,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One.“I have that authority…It’s going to be signed tomorrow.” He said he could use an executive order or emergency economic powers.

The administration is also prepared to order the company to divest its ownership in TikTok.

Investment bankers told FOX Business if the Microsoft deal falls through, ByteDance will certainly shop TikTok wider including to private equity firms. A person with direct knowledge told FOX Business there are two to three serious buyers that have expressed interest.

Any deal will be closely scrutinized by the Trump administration. “If Microsoft or any U.S. company buys TikTok this will be carefully monitored to make sure there is absolutely no Chinese involvement in the new company,” said one Wall Street executive with knowledge of the matter.

Trump as recently as March used executive powers to force a Chinese company to sell its stake in a U.S. hotel software company, the Washington Post reported.

[End]

Adios, Tik-Tok, whatever in the hell you are.

That is all.

Friday News Roundup: Tulsa Curfew, Portland Chaos, CBS Wants a Race War and Hating John Bolton

Tulsa’s Mayor starts prepping for a riot. – With reports flying around about Antifa and Black Lives Matter already busing in out-of-state agitators to stage riots in his city this Saturday, Republican Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum declared a state of emergency Thursday and established a 10:00 p.m. curfew that will remain in effect through Saturday.

Twitter predictably erupted with howls of outrage about the hundreds of Trump supporters who have been camping out at the rally site since Monday being forced to move, but the Mayor’s action here is entirely rational.

As a part of his declaration, Mayor Bynum states that ““I have received information from the Tulsa Police Department and other law enforcement agencies that shows that individuals from organized groups who have been involved in destructive and violent behavior in other States are planning to travel to the city of Tulsa for purposes of causing unrest in and around the rally.”

This move by these two Soros-funded domestic terrorist groups to create what will almost certainly become riots without firm police control is entirely predictable. I’d have frankly been stunned if they didn’t engage in this behavior – it’s right out of the Soros/Alinsky/Democrat Party playbook.

In the emergency declaration, the Mayor declares that the implementation of the curfew is necessary so that his police department has time today and tomorrow to properly secure the area around the downtown arena in order to create the best conditions for the prevention of the rioting, looting and burning that we have seen in Democrat-controlled cities all over the country in recent weeks.

Bottom line: This is what responsible mayors do when they know that outside agitators are coming into their city to stage riots. Instead of whining about this move on Twitter, Trump fans should be celebrating the fact that the people of Tulsa have been smart enough to avoid putting Democrats in control of their city.

This is what they want to do to the Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial. – Meanwhile, in the Democrat-run city of Portland , Oregon, chaos continues to reign. Take a look at this:

Do not doubt that they would love to do the same to the monuments in Washington, DC. Antifa and Black Lives Matter have in recent weeks distributed flyers to their supporters that include instructions on ways to undermine the foundation of the Washington Monument to cause it to topple over just as this statue was toppled last night.  These people are indistinguishable from ISIS and the Taliban with their goals of erasing history and the monuments to it.

“CBS wants a race war.” – That was the statement made by Caleb Hull yesterday, but he might as well have included pretty much every corrupt national news outlet. Here’s the tweet:

Hull was reacting to an extremely and intentionally misleading headline published by CBS News yesterday describing an incident in which white police officers shot another black man. Here’s an excerpt from a story in the DC Examiner about it:

CBS News drew criticism Wednesday for a headline on a story involving police shooting and killing a black man without mentioning the man allegedly opened fire first.

“Deputies kill half-brother of black man found hanged in park,” a CBS headline posted on Twitter Wednesday read, referring to the death of Terron Jammal Boone.

Boone was the half-brother of Robert Fuller, a black man found hanging in a park on June 10 in what was first believed to be a suicide before the coroner walked back that conclusion.

The tweet doesn’t include the police report that states officers attempted to stop Boone, who was wanted for kidnapping, spousal assault, and assault with a deadly weapon, at which point he jumped out of his vehicle and opened fire on officers before they shot and killed him.

[End]

As is so often the case, it isn’t what an evil, corrupt news outlet did say that’s the problem so much as what it left out.

The fake, corrupt news media is an existential threat to our nation’s survival. This CBS headline/story is but one of a thousand examples we see of this with every passing week.

In case you missed it… – Chief Justice John Roberts betrayed America once again yesterday, siding with the liberal minority on the court in yet another atrocity of a 5-4 decision DACA. Read all about it at this link.

So, you hate John Bolton? Welcome to the party, pal. – Everyone in Washington hates John Bolton. At least, that’s what the very lefist folks at Politico are telling us this morning in a very interesting expose’ on the feckless warmonger who is hawking a new book this week.

Here’s an excerpt:

John Bolton has few friends left in D.C.

A day after excerpts from his bombshell new book emerged excoriating President Donald Trump, the former national security adviser has managed to turn everyone against him.

Republicans say he’s a disgruntled sensationalist who’s merely trying to make money off his book. And Democrats, once buoyed by Bolton’s turn against Trump, now say he is “unpatriotic” for documenting his claims in a book rather than testifying before Congress during Trump’s impeachment inquiry.

Several Republicans this week took direct shots at Bolton, a neoconservative once heralded as the gold standard for the GOP on foreign policy and national security issues.

Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.) said Bolton is “somebody who thought he was being hired to be the commander in chief, and he wasn’t.” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said he found it hard to take seriously “anyone who claims to have witnessed treason and obstruction of justice and tells about it in a book.”

“Every meeting I’ve been in with John Bolton, he views himself as the smartest person in the room,” added Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), the No. 3 GOP leader. “He thinks he should be president, speaker of the House and chief justice of the Supreme Court all at the same time.”

[End]

Nobody likes a lying warmonger, it seems. That appears to be the only thing both parties can get together on these days.

That is all.

Thursday News Roundup: Democrat Racism, Trump Reviews Book, and America’s Taliban

280-character Book Reviews, By Donald J. Trump. – The President of the United States posted this free book review on his Twitter account overnight.:

Ok, then, I think I’ll forego this one and read the new Michael Connelly novel instead. Thanks.

The National Security Council that Bolton himself formerly led also weighed in on the book with this statement last night:

NSC has determined that the manuscript in its present form contains certain passages—some up to several paragraphs in length—that contain classified national security information. In fact, the NSC has determined that information in the manuscript is classified at the Confidential, Secret, and Top Secret levels. Accordingly, the publication and release of The Room Where it Happened would cause irreparable harm, because the disclosure of instances of classified information in the manuscript reasonably could be expected to cause serious damage, or exceptionally grave damage, to the national security of the United States.

Oh.

In case you missed it, the LA Times reported yesterday that the Department of Justice is apparently contemplating the filing of criminal charges against Bolton given that he decided to go ahead with the book’s publication without completing the required vetting process involving the NSC, the DOJ and the Pentagon. Those “high-level discussions” apparently go all the way up to Attorney General Barr himself.

Should DOJ move forward with such charges for revealing classified intelligence, millions of Americans will wonder why similar charges have yet to be pursued against Democrats like Hillary Clinton, Huma Abedin, James Comey and Andrew McCabe, among many others. Still, filing against someone, anyone would be welcome progress.

Well, hey, this should make Barr’s decision even easier. – For its own part, the book’s publisher, Simon and Schuster – which appears to be the go-to publisher for Deep State hacks like Bolton – says the genie is already out of the bottle here in terms of halting the book’s publication:

Image

Ok, so, criminal charges it is, then. Or at least, it should be. We’ll see.

As you watch the hyperbolic fake news coverage of Bolton’s book, remember this John Bolton clip from 2010:

Because Republican Black lives don’t matter to Black Lives Matter. – Check this out…

That’s the kind of racist crap you have to deal with if you are a Black person who holds to conservative values. Durbin later claimed his remark was a mere slip of the tongue and offered a Clintonian non-apology apology, but nobody really believes that. Durbin is a guy who never utters a public word that hasn’t been vetted with a focus group. But hey, he’s a Democrat, so being an overt racist is ok.

CORONAPANIC UPDATE: Thus far in Texas, 2088 residents have had their deaths attributed to COVID-19, which we all know is a highly inflated number. By comparison, during the 2019-2020 Season for the common flu and pneumonia, Texas has recorded 8,157 deaths due to those respiratory illnesses according to the state’s Department of Health and Human Services.
That’s 8,157 deaths for which no one screams we must wear a mask or stay at home, vs. 2,088 deaths about which everyone screams.
We are officially insane.
This concludes your CORONAPANIC UPDATE for today.

Hey, look, Old Faithful just erupted in Las Vegas:

Anyone who has ever visited Vegas knows that it is just a matter of time before someone puts up a neon sign that reads “Old Vegas Faithful,” and starts collecting resort fees, parking fees and COVID-19 surcharges. Then they’ll start taking bets on how long the man-made geyser lasts, with the House taking 6% of the proceeds as its cut. If this were 1980 again, a third of the house collections would then be skimmed and sent back to the Kansas City and Chicago mobs, with another small share going to Harry Reid and the other members of the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

But hey, it’s not 1980 anymore.

Quick, somebody tell me the difference between today’s Democrats and their BLM/Antifa mobs and the Taliban, because I’m not seeing one. – The war on history and monuments to history continues in California, where the Democrat-dominated state assembly just voted to remove a statue of Christopher Columbus from the state capitol building.

From a report at Breitbart:

A statement that was signed by  Senate President Pro Tempore Toni Atkins (D), Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon (D), and Assembly Rules Committee Chairman Ken Cooley (D) read:

Christopher Columbus is a deeply polarizing historical figure given the deadly impact his arrival in this hemisphere had on indigenous populations. The continued presence of this statue in California’s Capitol, where it has been since 1883, is completely out of place today,” It is unclear when the statue will be removed from the state building.

The decision comes as left-wing activist groups, including Black Lives Matter, and Democrat lawmakers have called for historical statues to be taken down in the wake of the death of George Floyd, a black man who died while in police custody in Minneapolis.

On Tuesday, a statue of Christopher Columbus was removed from a St. Louis, Missouri, park — Tower Grove Park — after commissioners who manage it voted in favor of the move.

The day prior, after a bust of Christopher Columbus was taken down in Detroit, Michigan, and placed in storage. On Friday, officials in Wilmington, Delaware — the town in which former Vice President Joe Biden resides — removed statues of both Columbus and Caesar Rodney.

John Bolton Might Become William Barr’s First High-Profile Criminal Indictment

Former National Security Advisor/UN Ambassador John Bolton and his publisher, Simon and Schuster, apparently attempted to cut the Department of Justice off at the pass today by releasing Bolton’s book to the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post and other media outlets.

The DOJ filed suit in federal court on Tuesday asking for a restraining order against the book’s publication, claiming that it is chock-full of classified information. On Wednesday, the WSJ, the Post and other media outlets somehow all had conveniently obtained copies of the book and are publishing a raft of stories based on Bolton’s allegations against President Trump.

So the Wuhan Virus has basically lost the public’s attention, the riots have run their course for the most part, and the Deep State needed another means of trying to bring down the President. Enter Ambassador Pornstache.

The Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday that prosecutors within the DOJ are now having “high-level discussions” about whether or not to file criminal charges against Bolton, and that those discussions apparently go all the way up to Attorney General William Barr.

From the LA Times piece:

Federal prosecutors are weighing whether to criminally charge John Bolton with disclosing classified information in his upcoming White House memoir, and the Justice Department is expected in coming days to ramp up its legal campaign to block publication of a book that is being billed as a scathing rebuke of President Trump, according to people familiar with the matter.

The Justice Department is expected to seek a temporary restraining order from a federal judge as soon as Wednesday that would block Bolton and his publisher, Simon & Schuster, from releasing the memoir as planned on June 23, the people said. It is not clear how successful such a legal fight would be. On Wednesday, the Wall Street Journal published a lengthy excerpt of the book. It is also in the hands of journalists who have begun to chronicle its findings in stories.

Nevertheless, such a legal maneuver would amp up the fight begun Tuesday when the Justice Department filed a lawsuit asking a federal judge to order Bolton to halt the release of “The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir,” pending the conclusion of a prepublication scrub of the manuscript for classified information.

The suit alleges that Bolton is in breach of nondisclosure agreements that required such a review and clearance by the National Security Council before he can publish a book.

The Justice Department described the book as a “500-plus page” tome “rife with classified information.” The internal discussion about whether to charge Bolton with releasing classified information are occurring at the highest levels of the Justice Department and involve Atty. Gen. William Barr, the person said.

[End]

As you absorb what will certainly be days of wild reporting based on this book, you would do well to remember that Mr. Bolton is the same guy who didn’t want to offer testimony during the Democrats’ sham impeachment hearings that held the nation hostage last fall and winter. Because, see, when you offer testimony to congress, you have to do it while under oath and potential perjury charges.

But in a gossip tell-all book published by reliable deep state tool Simon and Schuster, you can just toss out whatever you want without worrying about perjury, so long as you have sign-off from DOJ and the National Security Council that your book doesn’t illegally reveal classified information. Bolton obviously thought about the perjury deal, but for whatever reason decided to challenge the Trump Administration on the classified information part.

Wouldn’t it be fun if, after all of the hype about the Durham investigation, Ambassador Pornstache became William Barr’s first big-time indictment?

The fun never ends around here.

That is all.

Wednesday News Roundup: Google Monopoly, CHOP Follies, Bolton Sued and More

Tired of all this #WINNING yet? – The markets boomed on Tuesday, with the Dow shooting up by more than 500 points and the NASDAQ approaching 10,000 again at the close. The news that retail sales for May had rocketed up by an all-time record 17.7% (as opposed to an “expert” projection of 8%) provided the main impetus for yesterday’s gains, Democrat/Media panic porn over the coronavirus notwithstanding.

Futures point to a higher opening again today, as the markets continue to try to climb back from their big losses of last Thursday.

In case you missed it… – Comcast/NBC News and Google conspired yesterday to de-platform two conservative news sites, The Federalist and ZeroHedge, in about the clearest example of monopolistic behavior one could ever witness. You can read all about it at yesterday’s Evening Campaign Update.

In his opening monologue last night, Tucker Carlson discussed the obvious dangers of the Department of Justice and Congress sitting by and doing nothing as one company – Google – controls more than 70% of all online advertising cash flow:

It is beyond any question that Google today is exactly what Standard Oil was 120 years ago: A blatant monopoly that engages in restraint of trade and other unfair business practices against its competitors and others – like The Federalist and ZeroHedge – that it does not approve of. If the federal government cannot summon the integrity and political will to properly regulate and break up Google – just as it did with AT&T in the 1980s and 1990s – then congress should just repeal the anti-trust laws and drop all pretense of the existence of a fair and competitive marketplace.

It’s a start. – As expected, President Donald Trump signed an executive order on policing reforms at a White House ceremony on Tuesday.

Axios provides a succinct summary of the Order’s main provisions:

The big picture: Under the order, police departments that meet certain standards, outlined by the Justice Department, on use of force will be given access to federal grants, a senior administration official said on a call with reporters on Monday.

  • Departments must ban the use of chokeholds to receive such certification, unless an officer is targeted by deadly force.
  • The order also moves to create a national registry to track police officers with multiple instances of the use of excessive force.
  • The order also includes new programs that would help law enforcement officials better deal with mental illness, homelessness, and addiction — including encouraging departments to involve mental health professionals and social workers to work alongside officers in the field.

Worth noting: The order does not address larger concerns about systemic racism and racial profiling in law enforcement.

  • “I strongly oppose the radical and dangerous efforts to defund, dismantle and dissolve our police departments. … Americans know the truth: Without police, there is chaos. Without law, there is anarchy,” Trump said.

Democrats naturally were entirely negative about the order, refusing to give the President any credit for all the many actions he has taken during his presidency to improve lives in Black communities around the country. A great example came when Bret Baier interviewed South Carolina Cong. James Clyburn on his show last night. Watch as Clyburn lies through his teeth in order to avoid saying anything positive about the President or this EO:

Such despicable people.

From our “You Just Cannot Make This Stuff Up” files…. – Rather than enforcing the law over the multiple obvious felonies that have been committed by the radical Antifa activists who created it, the City of Seattle’s government continues to treat the CHOP as if it is a legitimate autonomous country and is now even negotiating deals with those same activists.

Yesterday, the City went to great expense to remove the graffiti-smeared temporary barriers to entry and egress the activists had set up, replacing them with costly concrete barriers designed to ensure no vehicles can enter the area:

Is the 'CHOP' here to stay? City adds concrete barriers to ...

I guess the city’s despicable Mayor and city council members look at this as a civic beautification project. in exchange for the fancy new barriers, the Antifa activists agreed to reduce the size of their stolen territory from 6 square city blocks to 3, but the remaining territory still encompasses the Seattle PD’s 3rd Precinct building.

Pathetic.

Just for fun, Tucker Carlson gave his viewers a look at life inside the CHOP on his show last night. It is exactly what you would expect when a bunch of 20-something nerds who have never had a productive moment in their lives take charge:

DOJ sues John Bolton, aka, Trump’s Biggest Mistake. – Former National Security Advisor John Bolton is back in the news, once again for bad reasons. The Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against the 1970s pornstache-sporting gadfly in an effort to block publication of his new tell-all gossip book because it very predictably contains classified information, which publisher Simon and Schuster refuses to remove.

From a report at Fox News:

The complaint argues that Bolton submitted his book, “The Room Where It Happened,” for publication without first getting permission from the government through the prepublication review process and that the book contains classified information.

The Justice Department wants the court to issue an order to Bolton “to notify his publisher that he was not authorized to disclose ‘The Room Where It Happened’ because he has not completed prepublication review and because it contains classified information” and for his publisher to delay the release of the book. The book is scheduled to hit shelves next week.

Bolton attorney Charles Cooper responded Tuesday night: “We are reviewing the government’s complaint, and will respond in due course.”

The Trump administration has long contended that a manuscript of Bolton’s memoir contained classified information, but that the way the material was woven into the narrative would make a traditional “scrub” impossible.

Sources told Fox News the classified information was “part and parcel” of the entire storyline.

[End]

So, here we see the DC Swamp/Deep State in action: John Bolton, a lifelong Swamp snake and ostensible Republican attempting to publish a book whose clear goal is to help the Democrats and their addled presumptive nominee, Joe Biden, win the 2020 elections.

We should also remember the fact that Bolton played a big role in helping Adam Schiff and San Fran Nan dummy up the false narrative they used to hold the country hostage for 6 months last fall and winter while they pushed their sham impeachment. Bolton is just Mitt Romney with a really bad haircut, stupid-looking mustache and ill-fitting suits.

That is all.

The New York Times Sets the Final, Desperate Impeachment Deep State Narrative

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

The New York Times makes a final desperate play in its role as bullhorn for the Deep State. – Ok, so, this was inevitable: After the White House defense team devastated the Democrats’ impeachment scam with a simple recitation of the actual facts at hand on Saturday, the corrupt hacks at the New York Times publish yet another narrative-setter on behalf of their political party of choice.

The writers of the piece are Hillary Clinton tool Maggie Haberman and Obama hack Michael Schmidt, which is really pretty much all you need to know as far as the slant the piece takes, and the utter lack of any shred of journalistic integrity it involves. As is typical of this kind Deep State support news-fakery, the piece names not a single source, relying instead only on “multiple people,” a fact that is not revealed until the fourth paragraph.

Oh, yeah, and the fact that no one – not one single person – at the New York Times has actually seen the manuscript, written by former national security advisor John Bolton, is not revealed until … well, it’s not revealed anywhere in the piece at all. The piece contains no quotes from the alleged Bolton manuscript, because the Times has not seen the book.

The Times does reveal that the manuscript was submitted to the White House for pre-clearance by the National Security Council, which we know is filled with Deep State Obama plants, and which has been a leak factory since Day One of this administration. The NSC also provided both the fake “whistleblower” – Eric Ciaramella – and his buddy Alexander Vindman to serve as the catalysts for the impeachment scam.

Bolton’s spokesperson claims that single copy submitted to the White House is the one and only copy the publisher has distributed to anyone:

Hey, let’s all guess where these leaks originate from. When you learn that all publication clearances by the NSC are signed off on by Yevgeny Vindman, the twin brother of Alexander Vindman, it isn’t that hard, is it?

So, what does the Bolton book claim? From the Times’ piece:

President Trump told his national security adviser in August that he wanted to continue freezing $391 million in security assistance to Ukraine until officials there helped with investigations into Democrats including the Bidens, according to an unpublished manuscript by the former adviser, John R. Bolton.

The president’s statement as described by Mr. Bolton could undercut a key element of his impeachment defense: that the holdup in aid was separate from Mr. Trump’s requests that Ukraine announce investigations into his perceived enemies, including former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and his son Hunter Biden, who had worked for a Ukrainian energy firm while his father was in office.

Take away the inflammatory rhetoric and Democrat-narrative framing predictably added in by Haberman and Schmidt, and you have the President telling Bolton exactly what his legal team told the Senate: That the President was doing his job, waiting on releasing the aid to Ukraine – perfectly legal under his constitutional authority and the law – until he was sure that the new Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky was a good actor who was going to work to investigate and punish corruption by American actors in his country.

Remember that we have Joe Biden on video, admitting to literally bribing the previous Ukrainian government in 2016 to fire the prosecutor who was investigating his son’s company. The Democrats’ entire impeachment scam hinges on the argument that Biden is somehow exempt from any investigation into his outright thuggery while serving as Vice President simply because he now happens to be a candidate for the party’s presidential nomination. Sorry, but that cat don’t flush.

Back to the NSC: It is very likely that the Times’ corrupt reporters have been in possession of their information for several weeks, and waited until this moment to release this report, right before the Trump team is about to resume its defense arguments in the Senate trial. How can we be fairly sure of this? Because of this little-noticed Daily Mail story from January 17, title ” Donald Trump’s top Russia expert on National Security Council is ‘escorted off the White House grounds amid a security investigation’:

President Donald Trump’s top Russia expert on the National Security Counsel is reportedly on leave pending a security investigation.

Andrew Peek, the NSC’s senior director for European and Russian affairs, was escorted from the White House grounds on Friday, two people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.

Peek had been in the NSC role for just two months, after most recently working as a deputy assistant secretary of state with responsibility for Iran and Iraq.

He replaced Tim Morrison, who left the position after testifying in the House impeachment inquiry.

What do you suppose that “security investigation” involved? If you answered “probably leaks to Haberman and Schmidt,” you win the gold medal.

Naturally, both House and Senate Democrats immediately – within bare moments – responded to the Times report on their Twitter accounts with strikingly similar talking points. Why, it’s almost as if they were working in coordination with Haberman and Schmidt. Because they were.

The President responded a few hours later with tweets of his own:

and

This narrative-setting “report” from the Times creates the echo chamber the rest of the media will use throughout the next two days. Every on-air “analysis” from Democrat media toadies on CNN, MSNBC and the broadcast networks will be viewed through the prism of this story. This story provides all of the corrupt reporters the pretext for ignoring the arguments presented by the President’s defense team, and now will be used to hammer the RINO Usual Suspects – Murkowski, Collins, Romney, etc. – into voting with the senate Democrats to prolong the trial.

And it’s not just the RINOs: The Times also has an op/ed piece this morning advocating that Chief Justice John Roberts issue subpoenas for witnesses under his own authority. The piece is written by two leftist Georgetown professors and 83 year-old former Oklahoma congressman Mickey Edwards, another RINO who presumably needed a pay day.

These pressure points are the intention, of course, the result of the carefully-coordinated plan between the Democrats and their activists in our fake news media.

It’s all very transparent to anyone paying close attention. Unfortunately, very few Americans – and very few of the Senators – have really been paying close attention.

That is all.

Tucker Carlson Makes Some Good, and not-so-Good Points on Iran

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Just to be clear, one of the main reasons why I supported Donald Trump for the presidency in 2016 was his promise to scale down the U.S. military presence in the Middle East and end our military intervention in the no fewer than 8 regional conflicts in which his predecessors in office had the U.S. involved.

The President has by and large kept that promise, slowly but surely scaling down our country’s involvement in hellholes like Syria and Afghanistan. At the same time, he has largely avoided the siren song from his neocon and Obama holdover advisers to involve the U.S. military directly in additional conflicts in the region.

As a result, I’m generally in agreement with Fox prime time host Tucker Carlson’s position on international affairs. Carlson is a down-the-line non-interventionist, and that’s generally a good thing. He also spends a lot of time hilariously mocking neocon, never-Trump nitwits like Max Boot and Bill Kristol, which is another definite badge of honor on his chest.

But last night, Carlson went a bit over the line, comparing the U.S. killing of Iranian terrorist leader Qassem Soleimani to a situation in which Iran were to kill America’s chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, calling it an “act of war.” Well, it was an act of war, given that Soleimani was a leader of warriors who was killed as he was actively planning more attacks on American lives. That’s why he was killed – because he has been at war with the United States and our people throughout his entire adult life.

But the analogy Carlson draws here is not apt, because it legitimizes Soleimani and his actions. Soleimani was a terrorist, not a legitimate military leader – if we cannot draw that distinction, then we should just give up the idea of civilization in general. That having been said, Carlson did make some fine points about the neverending war lobby that is constituted and led by nitwits like Boot and Kristol and John Bolton:

“‘Threats in the region,’” he said, mimicking Mike Pompeo’s statement of the reason why Soleimani was taken out. “If you don’t live in Washington, here’s the translation. That would be in hostile middle eastern countries, places where American troops would never be in the first place, were it not for the insistent demands of non-geniuses like Max Boot and John Bolton. But never mind. No one in Washington is in the mood for big-picture questions right now, questions, the obvious ones, like: Is Iran really the greatest threat we face? And: who’s actually benefiting from this? And: why are we continuing to ignore the decline of our own country in favor of jumping into another quagmire, from which there’s no obvious exit? By the way, if we’re still in Afghanistan 19 sad years later, what makes us think there’s a quick way out of Iran?”

He continued, “Before we enter into a single new war, there’s a criterion that ought to be met. Our leaders should explain to us how that conflict will make the United States richer and more secure,” Carlson contended. “There are an awful lot of bad people in this world. We can’t kill them all. It’s not our job. Instead, our government exists to defend and promote the interests of American citizens. Period. That’s why we have a government. So, how has the killing of Soleimani done that? Maybe. No one in Washington has explained how.”

Those are all excellent points that thinking Americans – and President Trump – should keep in mind. The people in Washington DC agitating for outright war with Iran today are the very same people who got us into all these interminable quagmires in that region in the first place. They should be shunned and ignored.

But Carlson does miss the crucial point that made the retaliation against Soleimani and Iran an imperative in this case: Soleimani had just organized and led an effort to storm the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. Hundreds of American lives were jeopardized in the process. That is why Soleimani was in Baghdad in the first place.

As Carlson rightly says, we can’t kill all the bad people in the world. However, we can and must kill terrorist leaders like Soleimani when the opportunity presents itself, in order to prevent their taking more American lives in the future.

As I pointed out on Thursday, our diplomatic embassies are U.S. soil, and must be defended as we would defend our homeland. The failure by the Obama White House and Pentagon to do that in Benghazi got four Americans killed by a mob similar to what we saw in Baghdad this week.

Carlson is correct to warn against being drawn into a larger, general war with Iran. That is a war we could “win” in about a week, but would then end up spending trillions of U.S. dollars and untold numbers of U.S. lives in the years to come trying to rebuild that country and keep the illusional “peace,” as we have done over the last 18 years in Afghanistan and 17 years in Iraq.

But he is wrong to condemn the killing of Soleimani: That act was not only absolutely justified, but entirely necessary. God Bless President Trump for having the wisdom to authorize it.

That is all.

Bolton Out, Permanent War Crowd Angry. Cool.

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

National Security Advisor John Bolton claims he resigned today. – But the truth is almost certainly that he was fired, most likely because President Donald Trump became fed up with Bolton always playing George C. Scott’s General Turgidson character in the film Dr. Strangelove:

Turgidson: Mr. President, we are rapidly approaching a moment of truth, both for ourselves as human beings and for the life of our nation. Now, truth is not always a pleasant thing. But it is necessary now to make a choice, to choose between two admittedly regrettable, but nevertheless distinguishable, post-war environments: one where you got 20 million people killed, and the other where you got 150 million people killed!]

Muffley: You’re talking about mass murder, General, not war.

Turgidson: Mr. President, I’m not saying we wouldn’t get our hair mussed, but I do say no more than 10 to 20 million killed, tops! Uh, depending on the breaks.

Muffley: I will not go down in history as the greatest mass murderer since Adolf Hitler.

Turgidson: Perhaps it might be better, Mr. President, if you were more concerned with the American people, than with your image in the history books.

Here is what the President tweeted out about the matter earlier today:

It becomes tiresome, no doubt, to be constantly advised to just keep the wars going when you got elected based on a promise to start ending some of the damn wars. So, let’s nobody be surprised that the President ultimately got fed up and pulled the trigger, so to speak, on firing the White House spokesperson for the permanent war crowd.

Who leads that crowd, you ask? Well, to paraphrase the great Hans Gruber from Die Hard, “you ask me for the leader, I give you Mitt Romney”:

You should also expect your TV screens and social media news feeds to be filled with similar statements of outrage from the usual warmonger suspects like Bill Kristol, various writers at the National Review and of course, the presidential candidate you never heard of before last week, Joe Walsh.

Meanwhile, Senator Rand Paul, who supports the President’s vision of getting America out of these intractable Middle East and African conflicts, had this to say:

Ironically you will also no doubt see many of the very same Democrats and fake news media talking heads who slammed President Trump for hiring Bolton now also slam him for firing Bolton.

Oh, hey, here’s Democrat congressman Chris Murphy doing exactly that:

Finally, you will also see the fake news media who detest the President suddenly cast Bolton as the smartest guy in the room, a wise and seasoned advisor who everyone should now listen to, just as they have done with The Mooch in the past few weeks. I give it no more than 72 hours before either CNN or MSNBC gives Bolton a huge contract to be an on-air expert contributor.

Because that is who our fake news media is, and that is how they work.

That is all.

Trump Puts the Lie to “Russia Collusion” With Venezuela Actions

The Afternoon Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

In case you’re still thinking  this whole “Trump is Putin’s puppet” narrative has legs, well, think again. Vladimir Putin is a decidedly unhappy hombre’ today, and it all has to do with the ongoing efforts by the Trump Administration to depose his real puppet, Venezuelan socialist thug Nicolas Maduro.

Earlier today, National Security Advisor John Bolton and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin announced the U.S. would place severe sanctions on Maduro’s regimen and Venezuela’s national oil company, PdVSA:

Steve Mnuchin:  “As a result of today’s action, all property and interests in property of PdVSA subject to U.S. jurisdiction are blocked, and U.S. persons are generally prohibited from engaging in transactions with them.”

At his press conference, Mnuchin said these actions basically place a quarantine on $7 billion in PdVSA assets in the U.S., and would represent $11 billion in foregone oil exports to the U.S. over the next 12 months. Mnuch said the U.S. decided to target PdVSA because it has long been used by the Maduro regime as “a vehicle for corruption.”:

“A variety of schemes have been designed to embezzle billions of dollars from PdVSA for the personal gain of corrupt Venezuelan officials and businessmen.  For example, a 2014 currency exchange scheme was designed to embezzle and launder around $600 million from PdVSA, money obtained through bribery and fraud.  By May 2015, the conspiracy had allegedly doubled in amount, to $1.2 billion embezzled from PdVSA.  Abraham Edgardo Ortega, a Venezuelan national who was PdVSA’s executive director of financial planning, pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering for his role in the billion-dollar international scheme to launder funds embezzled from PdVSA.”

The ongoing, aggressive efforts by the Trump Administration to depose Maduro put the lie to Democrat/media allegations that the U.S. President is some sort of “puppet” or ally to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Putin has, over the last several years, invested billions of dollars in efforts to prop up the Maduro regime, often taking ownership of Venezuela’s oil assets in return.

As Reuters reported in 2017, Putin’s Russia had by that time already made at least $17 billion in such investments, a total that has only grown in the intervening two years. Thus, any sanctions on Venezuelan oil assets strike directly at the Russian Bear.

Putin’s spokesman at the U.N. made Russia’s displeasure with the efforts to oust Maduro very clear, as Russia led the effort to deny a unanimous U.N. Security Council vote in favor of an effort by the U.S. and European Union to impose international sanctions on Maduro, and endorse opposition leader Juan Guaido.

All of which adds up to completely refute the ongoing joint efforts by the Democrat Party and our fake news media to portray President Trump as a Russian agent.  These people really are shameless.

That is all.

The Deep State has Won a Few Battles, but is Losing its War on Trump

The Evening Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

So, let’s review the evolution of the Deep State Cabal’s strategy to rid the D.C. establishment of this troublesome interloper, Donald J. Trump:

  • It began as an effort to fix the 2016 general election – devising a tortured rationale to let the Pantsuit Princes off the hook on her email crimes; spending millions on a fake Trump dossier designed to damage her opponent’s reputation; feeding debate questions to the Coughing Crook in advance; paying an assortment of women to come out of the woodwork to accuse Trump of having affairs in the weeks leading up to Election Day, etc., etc.
  • Having failed in that effort, it morphed into an effort to create so many leaks by Obama holdovers and other deep states inserts into the Administration that it would make it impossible for Trump to govern.  Trump and his few loyalists responded by doubling down on their agenda.
  • Having failed in that effort, it morphed in the spring of 2017 into the Rosenstein/Comey conspiracy to dummy up false grounds for the appointment of a Special Counsel in the person of their best buddy, Robert Mueller.  Mueller’s initial goal was to find criminal wrongdoing by the President.  The problem there was that there is no such crime called “collusion,” and no president can be prosecuted for exercising his constitutional authority, meaning there is no case to be made for “obstruction of justice.”  Trump and his loyalists doubled down on their agenda again.
  • Having failed in that effort, but with congressional preference polling late in 2017 indicating the Democrats had a chance to win control of the House of Representatives in the midterm elections, Mueller’s goal morphed into an effort to build a plausible case for impeachment, and to leak as much damaging information has he could to a cooperating national news media in order to drive down Trump’s public approval numbers.  If he and his media agents could drive the President’s approval ratings down into the low-30s or even into the 20s, even Republicans would likely be willing to vote for impeachment.  Thus, we saw the efforts to claim Trump is mentally unstable, then the efforts to claim his health is bad, then the former playmates and porn stars crawling out of the woodwork to claim 10-12 year-old affairs, and on and on.  Once again, Trump and his loyalists doubled-down on the agenda.

But a funny thing happened to Mueller on his way to this latest goal:  his tactics became so blatantly abusive, and the media’s efforts to justify them so transparently and laughably phony, that the public has become repulsed by the tactics, not the target.  That reaction to the abusive charade, combined with a booming economy and a raft of foreign policy achievements thought to have been unimaginable in the previous administration, has resulted in the President’s public approval ratings climbing to their highest level in 14 months.  In fact, in the daily Rasmussen survey – the lone periodic poll that focuses on likely voters – Mr. Trump’s approval as of today sits at 51%.

So, yet again, the Cabal’s strategy, as implemented by the Special Counsel, the deep state thugs embedded within DOJ and the FBI, and supported by the national fake news media, has miserably failed.

Recently, though, we’ve seen the strategy shift yet again.  The newest strategy, which appears to have been implemented around mid-March, is to viciously assault and character assassinate anyone loyal to Trump in order to ultimately make it impossible for Trump to find people willing to work for him, and thus make it impossible for him to govern.  Call it Chaos Strategy #2.

It started with Scott Pruitt, the extremely effective EPA Administrator, who has been the subject of a withering assault by disloyal EPA employees, the radical environmental community, and the fake news media.  The media effort has been led by the degenerates at the New York Times, who have now filed more than 60 hit pieces targeting Pruitt in the last month.  At one point a few weeks ago, it appeared that the President was preparing to cave to this media pressure and fire Pruitt, but changed his mind at the last minute and stood firm.

That will ultimately prove to be a crucial decision point in all of this.  Had Trump caved on Pruitt, then the walls may well have eventually fallen in around him, because other senior people under assault – like Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke and Chief of Staff John Kelly – might have lost confidence in the President having their backs and jumped ship.

This Chaos Strategy #2 is what the repulsive character assassination of Admiral Ronnie Jackson was about, it’s what the assault on new National Security Advisor John Bolton’s integrity was all about, it’s what the Senate Democrats’ demonization of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was all about, it’s what the jack-booted raid on the home, office and hotel room of Trump attorney Michael Cohen was about, and it’s even what the White House Correspondents Dinners attacks on Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Kellyanne Conway were about.

Because Trump stood firm on Pruitt, this Chaos Strategy #2 is rapidly failing as well.  Yeah, they claimed a scalp with Admiral Jackson’s withdrawal, but today his main accuser, Vice President Mike Pence’s personal physician, Dr. Jennifer Pena, was forced to resign.  And yes, Cohen remains under assault, but there’s a long way to go on that situation as well.

Meanwhile, Bolton is the new National Security Advisor, Pompeo is now firmly ensconced as Secretary of State, Zinke is still reorganizing the Interior Department and its priorities, and Pruitt is still repealing the anti-American legacy of Barack Obama’s EPA.

So the Chaos Strategy #2 is failing as miserably as all the preceding Deep State strategies failed.  Meanwhile, prospects for the much-touted Democrat “Blue Wave” election wins in November are rapidly fading, the President is on the verge of one of the most astounding foreign policy victories in American history related to Korea, and the main report from DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz will be dropped within days.  That’s when the fun will really begin.

The Deep State’s gonna need another new strategy, and fast.

That is all.

Trump Dropped Some Twitter Bombs Sunday Morning

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

While so many Trump supporters have spent the last couple of days tossing tantrums about the President’s decision to sign the horrible Omnibus spending bill, some good things have been happening without getting much notice from the fake news media.

Tired of all this Winning yet? – Just a few days after the mass school shooting in Parkland, Florida, I wrote a piece that laid much of the blame at the feet of an insane Obama-era policy that rewarded school administrators and law enforcement officials for refusing to enforce the law against students who engage in criminal activity.  In the ensuing weeks since, more and more people in the news media have begun to report on the scam.  Better late than never.

This growing attention level has now led to a positive outcome:  The Trump Administration announced on Friday that it will eliminate the Obama policy.  Just one more element of the insane, un-American Obama legacy falls by the wayside.

The fake news media really hasn’t paid much attention to this reality yet – it’s been too busy trying to whip the public into a gun-grabbing frenzy and reporting on a porn startlet – but with his staff moves over the last month, President Donald Trump has basically purged his team of senior advisors of globalists.

  • Senior Economic Advisor Gary Cohn – gone.  Replaced with the Reaganite Larry Kudlow.
  • Secretary of State Rex Tillerson – gone.  Replaced – if he can be confirmed – by CIA Director Mike Pompeo.
  • National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster – gone.  Replaced by John Bolton.

Assuming Pompeo is ultimately confirmed, the Trump Cabinet and team of senior advisors will basically be devoid of the open borders/new world order internationalist influence.  While it is true that Bolton is an interventionist who favors aggressive U.S. military involvement in civil wars all around the world, he is very much on board with the Trump plan to dramatically increase border security.

Bolton also promises to “clean house” once ensconced in the job, eliminating dozens of Obama holdovers and other internationalists who are not loyal to President Trump, according to a report at Foreign Policy on Saturday.  Taking this action will almost certainly eliminate many, if not most of the leaks coming from the White House, some of which have been criminal in nature.

Bottom line, 14 months into his first term, Trump is finally putting together the team of leaders he should have had in the first place.  Again, better late than never.

Early this morning, President Trump issued the following two tweets:

These tweets are potentially very important, particularly the last sentence in the first one:  “Build wall through M!”, the “M” standing for “Military.”

The federal budgeting process is very complex and arcane, and one thing to remember in this current situation is that this “Omnibus” spending bill is just that:  A spending bill, not a formal budget.  It is a compilation of suggested spending levels for each executive branch department and the military, along with an array of restrictions that dictate how some, but not all of that money can be spent.

It’s important to also remember in this context that, on December 21, the President took the step of declaring a national human rights emergency related to child-trafficking, a declaration that would allow Mr. Trump broad discretion in taking action to crack down on those who participate in such human rights abuses.  It’s key to note that much such child trafficking involves moving kidnapped children in and out of the United States of America.

A second point to note is that, on Friday, the President notified congress that, in signing the Omnibus, he is accepting the funds under the provisions of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985.  This law also gives the President broad discretion in making decisions to refuse to spend funds that have been authorized by congress, as well as allowing him to reallocate spending priorities within the budgets of individual executive branch departments.

Finally, lets also note that, last October, the President declared a national emergency related to opioid abuse.

Now, read the text of that first tweet again, in the context of what is laid out above.  “Building a great border wall, with drugs (poison) and enemy combatants pouring into our Country, is all about National Defense.”  Combine that with “”Build wall through M!” and, it’s not unreasonable to think that Mr. Trump is at least considering the possibility of reallocating some portion of the beefed-up military budget to pay for building the wall along the southern border.

Doing that would of course create a media firestorm, but hell, what else is new?  And such a decision would also inevitably lead to a raft of lawsuits filed by leftwing activist groups before carefully-selected Obama-appointed federal judges, and possibly even a lawsuit from congress challenging the action.  But at the end of the day, such cases would have to go before the Supreme Court, where the President would most likely prevail, given the constitutional separation of powers.

As I’ve repeatedly pointed out, contrary to what the fake news media wants you to think, President Trump doesn’t just belch stuff out onto his twitter feed at random.  His tweets almost always have a purpose.  Often that purpose is to elicit a specific reaction from the fake news media.  Sometimes the purpose is to send up a trial balloon to gauge how the public would respond if he took a specific action.

I think Mr. Trump was doing both with those two tweets:  elicit a specific response from the media, and then gauge the public reaction to the media firestorm before deciding whether to move ahead.

Just another day in there really is good news out there if you look for it America.

That is all.

Will John Bolton Fix the Leaky Valve at the NSC?

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Man, another slow news day – having a hard time finding anything to write about.  Lessee here…

Down goes McMaster!  Down goes McMaster!  Down goes McMaster! – General H.R. McMaster, who has run the leaky valve we call the National Security Council (NSC) for the past 13 months, was finally, at long last given his walking papers on Thursday.  The move comes after the latest in a long series of major, embarrassing leaks that most likely came from either the General or his staff earlier this week.

That leak came when the substance of the President’s call with Vladimir Putin – including Trump’s congratulation on his fake election win, a matter of simple courtesy that was also extended by Barack Obama in 2012 – was leaked to the press, along with briefing notes compiled by the NSC advising Mr. Trump not to offer such congratulations.  The leak, as so many emanating from the NSC before it had been, was designed to embarrass President Trump, and it appears the POTUS had finally had enough.

The White House put out a statement late Wednesday that characterized this leak as “likely illegal” and promised to fire the person or persons responsible for it.  About 17 hours later, H.R. McMaster was starting the process of hunting for another job.  Hey, don’t feel sorry for him – he will no doubt have his pick of gigs at CNN, MSNBC, the Washington Post and the New York Times, fake media outlets that love to reward the hands that feed them.

In a tweet issued to announce the firing, President Trump thanked the 3-star General and said he would “always remain my friend.”  So, obviously, the President wants to create as little controversy as possible around the McMaster ouster.  It will be interesting to see if the White House is ever able to identify anyone else responsible for the leak of the Putin conversation, and if bringing in a new National Security Advisor has the effect of tamping down the leaks going forward.  Because with a “security council” like this, well, who needs it?

To replace McMaster, Trump named Bush-era UN Ambassador and noted neo-con John Bolton, so he’s replacing a liberal globalist Susan Rice fan with a very conservative war hawk who tends to favor U.S. intervention all over the world.  Appearing on Fox News shortly after his hiring had been announced, Bolton joked that, to get the job, “I promised not to start any wars.”  I’m not really sure that’s funny.

Whatever, Bolton will be a huge upgrade if he just doesn’t engage in the habit of leaking classified information to the nearest fake reporter.

Hey, guess which students are very predictably on the cover of the new issue of Time Magazine? – If you said “Parkland students,” you are partially right.  The fully correct answer, of course, is “a handful of Parkland students who are anti-2nd amendment and being manipulated by a bunch of leftwing anti-gun groups,” you are fully correct.

Because, of course, only the brainwashed children who want to take your rights away fit the anti-gun narrative the fake news media and Democrat Party have pushed for the last 50 years.  So tiresome.

Hey, remember those DACA “kids” (average age: 26)? Remember how I told you way back in December that the Democrat Party would never, never, never, ever agree to any sort of deal on their situation because they want to keep that issue alive through election day in November?  Yeah, we had another example of the truth of that overnight.

In the wee hours of the morning, the U.S. Senate – the most useless deliberative body on earth – approved yet another continuing resolution to fund the government, this time through the end of the fiscal year on September 30.  It is an utter, complete, total disgrace of a bill, a budget-busting monstrosity that not only continues funding for every leftwing priority but increases the money for most of them, a total capitulation by the Republicans in which pretty much the only thing that isn’t funded in any real way is increased border security and a border wall.  Thank you, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell.

Wait.  The other thing this “compromise” (read: Republican capitulation) bill doesn’t have in it is any sort of “fix” for those poor, poor “Dreamers”.  Golly, nobody could have seen that coming.

The two happiest people in the nation’s capital this morning are San Fran Nan and Chuck Schumer, who are no doubt hung over from all those toasts they were drinking during the night to Ryan, McConnell and the rest of the shameful establishment wing of the GOP.

If you are searching for the reason why Republicans hate Republicans, this bill is pretty much your Holy Grail.

Just another day in establishment Republicans selling out America.

That is all.

The New York Times: All the #FakeNews That Fits

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Warning:  If Everything is Sexist, Nothing is Sexist. – House Democrat Caucus leader Joe Crowley told reporters on Thursday that efforts by Republican congressional candidates to tie their Democrat challengers to House Sepaker San Fran Nan are “sexist.”  Crowley did not offer any explanation as to why Republicans criticizing the obviously incompetent, disgraceful Pelosi is sexist, but Democrat efforts to demonize every Republican woman on the face of the earth is not, and of course none of the fake journalists present would have dared to pose one of their Democrat heroes a followup question asking for more information.

But the reason behind Crowley’s statement is obvious:   Democrats know that their doddering Majority Leader is their biggest handicap in the mid-term elections.  They realize that it’s worth several percentage points to every GOP candidate to use images of her and clips from her outrageous statements in their campaign ads, so their plan is to declare Republicans as being sexist for doing so.  It’s just part of the Democrats’ Saul Alinsky-driven playbook.

Somewhere in India, the Pantsuit Princess is berating Huma Abedin for nothing thinking of this racket first. – The UK Daily Mail reports that swamp skunk former FBI Director James Comey is about to embark on a nationwide tour promoting his new book, and he will be holding promotional events to which attendees must fork over $97 per ticket.  I swear I didn’t make that up.  Obviously, there are too many Americans who are really, really hard up for entertainment.  Someone should tell them about Netflix.

Speaking of the Fainting Felon, it turns out that “sprained hand” reported on Thursday was actually a fractured wrist.  The Grasping Grifter injured the wrist when she she slipped in the bathtub in her hotel room in the city of Jodhpur, according to reports.  If you’re interested, here’s a photo of the marble-cased tub, courtesy of the Daily Mail:

The Cackling Crank is obviously not staying at the Holiday Inn Express while on her India tour.  That’s for those “Deplorables” out there in flyover country.

The Washington Post is reporting that President Trump has definitely decided to get rid of National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster, so I guess McMaster will survive after all.  I mean, it’s the WaPo, which has filed almost as many false reports based on confidential “sources” as the New York Times over the last few years related to Trump.

According to the WaPo, former UN Ambassador John Bolton is Trump’s first choice to fill the job, but the Post also rolls out the names of National Security Council member Joseph “Keith” Kellogg and current White House Homeland Security Adviser Tom Bossert as potential replacements.

It’s interesting to note that White House spokesman Sarah Huckabee Sanders denied the WaPo report late Thursday evening via Twitter:

One would hope the President wouldn’t leave his press spokesman hanging out to dry like this, but it wouldn’t be the first time that happened, so we’ll just have to see how the day goes.

And speaking of fake reporting by fake news media outlets… – In case you missed it, Clinton shill Maggie Haberman and some other fake reporter at the New York Times named Michael Schmidt issued a breathless report on Thursday that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has subpoenaed records from the Trump Organization.  Oh, my word!  Dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!

Folks, the Trump Organization has been responding to and complying with Mueller’s subpoenas for records since last Summer, when such activity was reported by the NYTimes and other fake news outlets.  In fact, yesterday’s story quotes Alan Futerfas, who is a lawyer with the Trump Organization, as saying the following:   “Since July 2017, we have advised the public that the Trump Organization is fully cooperative with all investigations, including the special counsel, and is responding to their requests. This is old news and our assistance and cooperation with the various investigations remains the same today.”

This is not just “old news,”, is not news at all.  What it is is an effort by the Times – and the unidentified criminal leakers in the Mueller team – to keep the Trump/Russia collusion fantasy on the front page of its fake newspaper.  In fact, Haberman and Schmidt can’t even attribute this story directly to those leakers – their attribution instead is to “two people briefed on the matter,” which could be a couple of guys who, over drinks with one of the Mueller flunkies at the Old Ebbitt Grill, heard the flunkie say “yeah, we tossed out another subpoena to the Trump Organization yesterday.”  Seriously, it could mean almost anything.

Haberman/Schmidt’s big “hook” in their fake story is this passage:   “The Trump Organization has said that it never had real estate holdings in Russia, but witnesses recently interviewed by Mr. Mueller have been asked about a possible real estate deal in Moscow.”   So, because some witnesses have been “asked” by Mueller’s Clinton/Obama-shill lawyers about a “possible real estate deal in Moscow,” Haberman/Schmidt want the reader to think this is somehow evidence of Trump “collusion” with Russia.

Note what that passage does not say:  It does not say that even a single witness has confirmed any Trump real estate deal in Moscow, or how, even if such a deal did take place years ago, that would in any way lead to a joint effort between the Trump Campaign and Vladimir Putin to influence the outcome of the 2016 election.

The Haberman/Schmidt story is the very definition of FAKE NEWS.  It is nothing more than an attempt to dress up old news as new news in order to try to influence public opinion against the current President of the United States.  It’s a disgrace to journalism, but then, it is the New York Times, so that pretty much goes without saying these days.

Just another day in Fake News America.

That is all.

In Trump World, a Cabinet Appointment is a Temp Job

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Spoiled high school children across the country skipped class on Wednesday to go pretend to know something about guns and gun control policy.  It was, like, totally rad, and of course Democrat politicians around the country exploited the kids’ acting out to make political points.  San Fran Nan, Chuck Schumer and the execrable New York Governor Andrew Cuomo all made anti-gun speeches to groups of students while surrounded by security guards armed with…wait for it…you know what’s coming…guns!  None of the kids noticed the irony in that, mainly because pretty much none of them know what irony is, but they did get to ditch chem lab or PE, so they were all happy.

Tired of all this Winning yet? – President Donald Trump announced yesterday that he will bring in economist and long-time CNBC news host Larry Kudlow to replace Gary Cohn as his chief economic advisor.  Kudlow was also an economic advisor to Ronald Reagan, and, with the exception of import tariffs, is a strong supporter of the Trump economic agenda, and the Trump “put America first” presidency in general.  He will be a huge upgrade over Cohn, a liberal globalist who would have been far more in his natural habitat working in a Clinton administration.  Thank God he didn’t get the chance.

With the President having already replaced Rex Tillerson and Gary Cohn this week, it is obvious he is intent on re-molding his cabinet into a group that is more on-board with his agenda rather than their own.  This is now leading to rumor-mongering among the fake journalist set.  Rumors are now flying that Mr. Trump will also replace Attorney General Jeff Sessions and National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster before the week is out.

The problem with those rumors is that they are coming from Vanity Fair, the NYTimes’ Clinton flunky Maggie Haberman and CNN’s pathetic Jim Acosta, several of the fakest fake news sources in business today.  So there is maybe a 50/50 chance there is anything to them.

The rumor about McMaster does seem most credible.  The General is a pure globalist, a liberal who was hired very quickly after the Mike Flynn firing last February, and is very likely one of the main sources of ongoing leaks coming from the White House.  McMaster is the clown who was responsible for extending the top secret clearances of Susan Rice and other Obama-era skunks long after they had left office, much to the chagrin of the President.

Former U.N. Ambassador in the Bush Administration John Bolton is the most likely replacement for McMaster.  The problem with Bolton is that he is a war-mongering neo-con, but at least there would be no doubt about where his loyalties lay, and he would not be a leaking problem.

Where Sessions is concerned, this is one we should believe when we see it.  Given that the rumors, if they aren’t just being made up out of whole cloth, likely come from someone in the White House who hates Sessions, it could be just one more example of fake news mongering.  Scott Pruitt, the rumored replacement for Sessions, would be a fabulous Attorney General, and unlike Sessions, would not be stupidly and unnecessarily recused from exercising oversight over Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

The problem there is that Pruitt has also been fabulous at EPA, where he has been aggressively reforming that out-of-control agency back to its statutory purpose of actually working to protect the environment after eight years of working to kill the national economy.  Putting someone else in charge over there, no matter who it might be, would necessarily place the progress achieved under Pruitt to this point at risk.

The other cabinet officials rumored to be in some jeopardy are VA Secretary David Shulkin  and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson.  Shulkin definitely needs to be gotten rid of, as he has been a walking, talking crap show in the job since day one.  Not only has he utterly failed to implement desperately-needed reforms at the VA, his personal behavior while in the job has resulted in a steady stream of negative press.

One problem:  Trump’s preferred candidate for this job, Energy Secretary Rick Perry, let it be known yesterday that he’s not really interested in taking on the intractable VA problems (who in their right mind would be at this point?), so Mr. Trump is going to have to find another candidate.

Carson has been similarly lackluster in his job performance at HUD, and also produced an embarrassment to the Administration a few weeks ago by spending gobs of money on unnecessarily fancy furniture and other accessories that don’t really belong in government offices.  There’s no real pressing emergency where Carson’s concerned – he just hasn’t turned out to be the right guy for that particular job.

In any event, we should all expect more cabinet shake-ups in the coming days, maybe before the day is out.  In fact, we should expect this to be an ongoing dynamic in this presidency.  This sort of churning of senior staff has been a feature in Trump’s business dealings, and there is no reason to expect his presidency to be any different.  The best way to look at these cabinet appointments is as temp jobs.

Just another day in it’s Donald Trump’s world and we’re just living in it America.

That is all.
