Thursday News Roundup: What Did Pelosi and McConnell Know and When Did They Know It?

Let’s start with a little DC Swamp humor found on Twitter yesterday:

Well, of course. The “new strain” of the virus supposedly imported from England hasn’t taken hold of the public’s imagination, so now Fauci switches to the tactic of claiming America has somehow developed a completely unique strain of its own.

Just accept it: The Swamp wants to keep you cowering in your homes and wearing masks forever. This madness will not end until it is ended by force. And one of the myriad disastrous consequences of the fraudulent election we’ve just experienced is that the people who want to keep you in that sorry state will soon be in control of the armed forces of the United States.

It’s cleanup time at Twitter, everyone! – A week after his company coordinated in monopolistic fashion with other Big Tech giants to de-platform President Donald Trump and destroy Parler, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey was out on the hustings trying to do some half-assed cleanup because Twitter’s stock is tanking.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey acknowledged in a statement on Wednesday evening that his company’s decision to ban President Donald Trump from the platform set a “dangerous” precedent and said that it was ultimately a “failure” by the company to “promote healthy conversation.”

Dorsey’s remarks come after the company has taken a hit in its value since banning the president last week, following a riot that broke out at the U.S. Capitol.

“I do not celebrate or feel pride in our having to ban @realDonaldTrump from Twitter, or how we got here. After a clear warning we’d take this action, we made a decision with the best information we had based on threats to physical safety both on and off Twitter,” Dorsey wrote. “Was this correct? I believe this was the right decision for Twitter. We faced an extraordinary and untenable circumstance, forcing us to focus all of our actions on public safety. Offline harm as a result of online speech is demonstrably real, and what drives our policy and enforcement above all.”

“That said, having to ban an account has real and significant ramifications. While there are clear and obvious exceptions, I feel a ban is a failure of ours ultimately to promote healthy conversation. And a time for us to reflect on our operations and the environment around us,” he continued. “Having to take these actions fragment the public conversation. They divide us. They limit the potential for clarification, redemption, and learning. And sets a precedent I feel is dangerous: the power an individual or corporation has over a part of the global public conversation.”

Dorsey claimed that the company did not coordinate with other tech companies with its decision to ban the president and that other companies either made their own choices or “were emboldened by the actions of others.”

All of that is, of course, an outright lie, especially the part about not coordinating with the other Big Tech firms. This is just the CEO of a major corporation reading the talking points handed to him by his enormous staff of talking points monkeys in an effort to prevent the company from continuing to bleed billions of dollars in market value every day.

Sadly, he’ll probably succeed in that effort.

I’d rather have a prostate exam than watch this:

Talk about a waste of time and energy – that effort has about as much chance of succeeding as this year’s Houston Rockets.

Today’s Short-Term Memory Reminder – Just a reminder that, on January 5, the day before the riot took place at the U.S. Capitol when the small contingent of Capitol Police guarding the building were overwhelmed by a crowd of thousands, Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser did this:

So, as you continue to hear and see the corrupt news media claim that President Trump delayed calling out the National Guard to help secure the Capitol, know that the communist Democrat Mayor of the City had specifically and publicly discouraged making any such move just 24 hours earlier.

Everyone in the nation’s capitol knew that upwards of a million people were going to descend on the city on January 6 as congress debated whether or not to accept the clearly fraudulent electoral vote, and that professional agitators would certainly be in their midst. The FBI and Department of Justice admitted on Monday that they had been monitoring social media platforms and were aware in advance of plans by some agitators on both the left and the right to mount an effort to storm the Capitol. As is the habit of the raging dumpster fire of corruption and incompetence that is the FBI, it chose to do nothing more than send out the most rudimentary, standard warnings to the Capitol Police and other law enforcement officials.

There was no reason whatsoever for the Capitol building to have been left so lightly-guarded, other than the Mayor of DC’s refusal to beef up the Capitol Police in advance. We do not know right now if Mayor Bowser had been made aware of the FBI’s warning before January 6 or not, nor do we know what Majority Leader McConnell and Speaker Pelosi knew in advance of the riot.

Given that Pelosi has now staged a second impeachment scam based on the riot, and McConnell has expressed his own support of that effort, it is crucial that we find out whether they were warned in advance of the threat and chose to do nothing to prevent it, since that in and of itself might amount to at best an act of criminal negligence.

But you can be sure that it will be a cold day in hell before anyone at the FBI or DOJ will deliver that information to the public. After all, the interests of the DC Swamp UniParty are paramount. You little people can go pound sand.

Twitter Begins Move to De-Platform President Trump

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II

Don’t look now, but Twitter is beginning its move to de-platform the President. – Twitter took the first step towards what will almost certainly become an eventual de-platforming of President Trump’s account Wednesday. Check out the little blue blurb at the bottom of the tweets below:

Hilariously, clicking on the “Get the facts” note takes you to completely false articles by corrupt outlets like CNN on the matter of mail-in voting. But that’s what Twitter does.

Look, you should expect the President’s account to be banned completely well before the Republican National Convention in August. Twitter already moved to restrict paid political advertising on its platform when it became obvious that the Trump Campaign was miles ahead of the Democrats in the social media space. That’s what all of this Kabuki theatre over the past week between Morning Mika and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has been all about – they’ve just been setting the stage for the final act.

All of the social media platforms – Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Instagram and all the rest – are completely in the tank for the Democrats and in the pocket of the ChiCom government. They are going to do whatever they can to get China Joe Biden – or whomever the Democrats actually nominate – elected this year.

As I was writing this, President Trump responded to Twitter’s action by – you guessed it – issuing more tweets:

That’s great, but it’s a little late in the game. In August of 2018, as it was becoming apparent that the Democrats had a chance to take over control of the House of Representatives, I wrote a piece advising Mr. Trump to channel his inner Teddy Roosevelt, and use his second two years in office to employ the nation’s anti-trust laws against the social media monopolies.

Here, in part, is what I wrote at that time:

So, imagine this scenario if you will:  Executives from ExxonMobil, BP, Shell, Chevron and Total all get together in a room talk about implementing the exact same gasoline price increase on the following day.  Then they all go out the following day and implement that exact same gasoline price increase while publicly admitting what they’re doing.

Those folks are in a hell of a lot of trouble under our nation’s anti-trust laws, wouldn’t you say?  Yes, if you have firing synapses in your cranial cavity, that’s exactly what you would say.

It wouldn’t matter if you like those oil companies or hate those oil companies, and it doesn’t matter if you like their customers or hate their customers.  Those companies are all publicly traded corporations who together control a major share of the U.S. gasoline market, and are thus prevented from engaging in monopolistic behavior, such as fixing prices for their products.  Thus, assuming the Department of Justice actually performed its job – which is always a crap shoot these days, I admit – those executives would soon find themselves on the receiving end of subpoenas soon likely to be followed by indictments.

Now, imagine another scenario:  It’s January 2019 and President Donald Trump finds himself and his administration under unending assault from congress, where the Democrat Party has managed to win a thin majority in the House of Representatives in the mid-term elections.  No, I don’t think this is likely to actually happen, but play along with me here.

The President is very frustrated because, as hard as it has been to get congress to do anything with its current thin GOP majorities in both houses, it is now impossible to get anything through the new #Resistance Democrat House.  The Democrats are in the process of trying to impeach and remove him from office, but won’t be able to come up with the votes in either house of congress to do so, as their own house members who won traditionally GOP districts in 2018 are reluctant to adopt that fool’s errand as their own.

So, it’s gridlock in Washington, DC, and Donald Trump is not a guy who deals well with gridlock.  He’s got two more years to get stuff done before his re-election bid rolls around, and is left with accomplishing things either through the regulatory process, executive orders or, if he can get his attorney general to act, the courts. What to do?

It may be that several giant social media corporations just answered that question on Monday.  The leaders of Apple, Facebook, YouTube, Spotify and Pinterest all got together and decided – at the persistent urging of CNN and various leading Democrats – to remove radio talk show host and conspiracy promoter Alex Jones from their platforms permanently.  The same kind of monopolistic action denying an American citizen access to their platforms and the commerce he derives from them on the same day.  Classic corporate trust behavior.

Now, it doesn’t matter if you like these giant corporations or hate these giant corporations; it doesn’t matter if you like Alex Jones or hate Alex Jones.  These companies are publicly-traded corporations who cannot by law band together for the purpose of restraint of trade or denial of access to any class of people, and that’s exactly what they did to Mr. Jones on Monday.  And it’s what these huge corporations, along with their sister social media platform, Twitter, have been doing to conservative users of their products for years now.  This is why, whenever they get caught denying access to conservatives, they always blame the issue on some sort of “glitch.”

And it’s not just trust behavior that they are executing here.  They’re also in blatant violation of campaign finance laws.  In a very real way, their actions amount to massive in-kind political contributions to the Democrat Party.  They apparently believe they are above the law, and if Jeff Sessions turns out to be the worthless swamp skunk many believe him to be, they could be right, at least for the time being.

But if the elections go the wrong way this November, President Trump will likely be looking for ways to keep on #Winning on domestic policy during his second two years in office.  Playing a Teddy Rooseveltian Trust Buster to the foil of these increasingly radicalized and abusive Big Tech corporations might have a real appeal to him, and could end up being just the ticket to taking the congress back in 2020 and winning a second term in office.

Stranger things have happened.  Hell, stranger things happen every day, don’t they?

Yes, stranger things do happen every day, and they are only going to keep growing ever more strange in the social media space until the Justice Department begins to take real actions to restrain them from their blatant interference in our national elections. DOJ has been taking some baby steps in this direction over the past two years, but now it’s time to bring out some big guns.

Because, left to their own devices, these social media monopolies will do everything they can to swing this election China’s way. It’s as certain as that sun you see rising every morning in the east.

Today’s Campaign Update – The Week in Review

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

This week, we introduce a new feature at the Campaign Update – The Week in Review.

Ok, actually we introduced this last Friday evening, but failed to take the time and space to point it out.  We’re going to plan to post one of these every Saturday afternoon at least through the end of this year’s mid-term election campaign, at which point the plan is to assess their utility (and readership level) and decide whether they should be continued.

In putting these Campaign Updates together every morning, it often becomes impossible to adequately capture all the big things that are taking place related to our national politics.  Every day has multiple news cycles, as the leftwingers in our fake news media and the Democrat Party become increasingly panicked about their prayed-for “Blue Wave” failing to materialize and the growing reality that Robert Mueller is systematically taking the steps necessary to wind down his fruitless “investigation.”

We can only expect the pace of fakenewsery to speed up even more during the 8 weeks remaining until Election Day, meaning that, in order to keep everyone updated on the campaign, the Campaign Update must work a little overtime.

The plan here is to summarize the week’s major events in bullet point format, heaping as many insults and pithy comments upon all the snowflakes, SJWs, fake newsers and other creatures on the political left as we can think to include.  Links to relevant stories will, as always, be included where relevant and useful.

So here we go with the Campaign Update Week in Review, Episode 2.

This was the week that all the following happened:

  • Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, a shameless SJW himself, admitted that his “conservative employees “don’t feel safe to express their opinions” while in the Twitter corporate workplace.  Man, what do you think tipped him off?
  • Meanwhile, over at Google, tapes of a leadership team meeting that took place shortly after the 2016 election revealed that, contrary to their pious claims of impartiality, the social media behemoth does indeed do everything it can to distort its search results in favor of liberals.  Very predictably, none of the TV networks, nor CNN or the NYTimes or Washington Post devoted any time or space to covering this major story.  Go figure.
  • The Washington Post told us that President Donald Trump is “complicit” in the creation of Hurricane Florence because he doesn’t spout the dogma of the religion of Climate Change, but oddly gave him no credit at all for the hurricane’s being downgraded from a Cat 4 storm to a Cat 1 as it approached the Eastern Seaboard.  Odd.
  • The fake news media’s coverage of the leadup to and destruction caused by Florence was every bit as fake as one would have expected, as the fake journalists did everything they could think of to use the storm to try to damage President Trump and any other random Republican who got in the way.  So tiresome.
  • We learned that RINO Senator Ben Sasse “thinks about leaving the Republican Party” every morning.  So go already.
  • President Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was restored over last weekend, and has, as of this writing, remained unmolested by enraged social justice warriors a full week later.  Amazing.
  • Speaking of stories the mainstream fake news media couldn’t be bothered to spend a second reporting, a Republican candidate for congress out in California was stabbed by a lunatic supporter of his Democrat rival, incumbent congressman Eric Swalwell, who I remain convinced played Otter in the 1978 film “Animal House.”  When Swalwell was interviewed on CNN the very next day, he was not asked a single question about the stabbing by the fake news hack doing the interview.  *sigh*
  • Les Moonves got his sorry butt “MeToo’d” out of his job as CEO of CBS.  The management at CBS was so angry at all the bad PR Moonves brought the organization that they sent him packing with a severance deal totaling only about $100 million.  Not kidding.
  • San Fran Nan said she agrees that, where the Democrats are concerned, “it’s time for new blood and we should move on.”  That’s the good part.  But in her next breath, she promised to continuing clinging to power so long as Donald Trump is President: “to have no woman at the table and to have the Affordable Care Act at risk, I said, ‘As long as he’s here, I’m here.”  Oh, goody.
  • Paul Manafort “flipped” in order to get a plea deal from Bob Mueller, but it’s an open question whether his flipping is any sort of bad news for President Trump or just for Tony Podesta, with whom Manafort partnered to lobby for some Ukrainian clients during the Obama Administration.  Given that all the charges that Mueller had brought against Manafort were from that long ago period of time, the latter seems most likely.
  • Political fabulist Bob Woodward’s new book trashing President Trump immediately topped all the best-seller lists, but it turned out that possibly the most damaging allegation in it relates not to the President, but to Obama’s CIA Director, the execrable John Brennan.  Oh, my.
  • Corrupt New York Mayor Andrew Cuomo sent the eternally irritating Marxist Cynthia Nixon packing, and nobody really cared.
  • The New York Times tried to smear Nikki Haley and it backfired immensely, proving that sometimes justice still does prevail in this country.
  • Late in the week, despicable California Senator Dianne Feinstein pulled a last minute stunt to try to derail the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, but when even the fakenewsers at the Washington Post were ridiculing the highly-predictable tactic, it quickly became obvious that it won’t work.

With the final Senate floor vote not scheduled to take place until September 29, though, no one should blithely assume that Feinstein and her fellow depraved Democrats are finished trying to slander the nominee.  They probably have several more arrows in that Luciferian quiver they drag around with them.

The New York Times Proves the Deep State is Alive and Well (Oops)

Your fake news media in action! – The New York Times last week:  Ran a piece contending that the Deep State is just an alt-right “conspiracy theory.”

The New York Times this week:  Ran an anonymous op/ed, supposedly written by a “senior administration official,” who says that he is part of a cabal of government employees embedded in the executive branch working to undermine the Trump presidency.

ummmmm…yeah, that’s the definition of the term “Deep State,” guys and gals.

So, let’s do some Q&A related to this:

Q:  Has the NYTimes ever pulled a stunt like this in an effort to undermine any other president?

A:  No.  Well, not in modern times, anyway.  Who knows what they might have done the last time our country went through a round of yellow journalism like the one we’re currently experiencing, back around the turn of the 19th century?

Q: Would the NYTimes have run such a piece from a Deep State official embedded in the Obama Administration?

A: You’re kidding, right?  Seriously, this is a joke?  No?  Look, if anyone doing this to Obama had identified himself to the editorial board of the NYTimes, the Times would have publicly outed him immediately and referred his case to the U.S. Attorneys at the Southern District of New York.

Q: How “Senior” is this official?

A: Good question.  There are more than 5,000 political appointees in the executive branch of government, and many times more than that SES (Senior Executive Service) level career bureaucrats at the GS-13 level or above.  Given how loosey-goosey the fakenewsers at the Times play with words these days (I laughed out loud when someone on Twitter tried to claim they followed “rules” on such things last night), it could be any one of these tens of thousands of people.  The chances that this is someone truly “senior”, i.e., a cabinet-level official or a direct report, are extremely low.  It’s far more likely that this person some associate assistant deputy to the associate deputy assistant to the director of some obscure bureau.

Bottom line:  This person could be anybody, or, given that the piece was obviously written by a professional writer, it could also be something the Times made up out of whole cloth.  It might well have been written by the Times’ resident Clinton hack Maggie Haberman or any number of other ethics-devoid fakenewsers employed by the fake newspaper.

Or hey, it might be the work of Bob Woodward, who is extremely gifted at spinning yarns.  We can eliminate ex-FBI Director James Comey, because the piece doesn’t read like something penned by a teenage drama queen, and Hillary Clinton, since it is not filled with myriad excuses about why she lost the 2016 election.

Other than that, it could be almost anyone.  At the end of the day, who cares?  This is just the 1,001st effort by the fake news media to dummy up something that is “the beginning of the end for Donald Trump.”  A week from today, no one will remember it happened.

Meanwhile, up under the Big Top on Capitol Hill… – So damn much happened yesterday at various hearings on the Hill that it’s hard to know where to start:

  • The CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, testifed before a House committee, and did his best imitation of Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, answering pretty much no questions honestly, and repeatedly using dodges like “we must do better,” “it was a glitch in our algorithm,” and the always handy “I’ll look into that and get back to you.  Note to Congress:  He isn’t going to get back to you.
  • Facebook’s President Sheryl Sandberg also testified at the same hearing, and employed the same tactics.  In direct contrast to Zuckerberg, who looked spookily like a poorly-programmed robot at his own hearing, Ms. Sandberg at least projected the appearance of being a real human being.  Progress.
  • When a right-wing reporter named Laura Loomer tried to disrupt the hearing, shouting complaints about being shadow-banned and suspended on Twitter, Missouri Republican Billy Long, a professional auctioneer by trade, drowned her out by shouting rapid-fire auctioneer stuff into his microphone as she was being escorted out of the room by security.
  • Someone needs to let Rep. Long into the Senate Judiciary Committee room and give him a mic.  The pre-planned constant disruptions by paid “protesters” continued during the second day of hearings over Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court. Some of the disruptions came from the same people who had been “arrested” for doing the same thing on Tuesday.
  • By late morning, even some of the Democrats on the committee, realizing that it wasn’t doing them any good, appeared to be getting tired of the nonsense.  Their tiredness showed in their questioning of the nominee, which was painfully scripted, rote and straight out the highly-predictable Democrat playbook.
  • While the dreary proceedings were taking place inside the hearing room, outside the room lurked radio talk show host Alex Jones, who was also very predictably pulling all sorts of crazy stuff.  At one point, Jones confronted Senator Marco Rubio, calling him a “snake” and a “frat-boy” and accusing him – incorrectly – of wanting to “beat me up.”  Rubio responded by telling Jones “I don’t know who you are,” which, whether true or not, Jones obviously took as an insult.  Then, in Rubio’s next breath, he said “I don’t really go on your website,” indicating he does know who Jones is after all.  So confusing.

Incidentally, in case you’re wondering what happens to these protesters when they’re “arrested,” here you go:  They are taken to a nearby police station, booked, assessed a fine of $50, and released.  That’s it.

At the end of the day, what it all added up to was the Democrats getting exactly what they wanted:  Capitol Hill was your basic three-ring circus.  Expect more of the same today.
