Friday News Roundup: Pelosi Toadies for Iran and the Media Toadying for Biden is Nothing New

Here is the genius of President Donald Trump and his administration: They now have the Democrats sticking up for Iran. – No kidding, take a look at what San Fran Nan had to say yesterday in response to the joint press conference by DNI John Ratcliffe and worthless FBI Director Christopher Wray that both Iran and Russia are trying to interfere in this election:

“Iran is a bad actor, but in no way equivalent [to Russia].”

How pathetically un-American is that? But that is where the Democrats feel they need to go in order to keep pushing their “Russia Russia Russia” attack narrative against the President of the United States.

Genius.

And speaking of pathetic Democrats… – In case you missed it due to the media blackout, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett yesterday in a vote that was both along party lines and unanimous. That’s because the petulant Democrat members of the committee all boycotted the committee meeting.

It just don’t get any more pathetic than that, folks.

And now, a bit of wonderful trivia from our “HO-LEE-CRAP” file… – Rasmussen reports tweets out the fact that Black voters’ approval of President Trump rose to…wait for it… 46%[!!!!] in its latest daily survey:

My goodness. Obviously, job approval doesn’t necessarily translate into outright votes, but if the President’s share of the Black vote amounts to 1/3rd of that in this election, it will produce an unprecedented Red Wave election on November 3.

Hey, maybe this has something to do with it. – The Washington Examiner reports this morning that the rate of imprisonment for the Black community under Donald Trump’s presidency is the lowest it has been in 31 years. Equally as compelling, the rate of Hispanic incarceration is down by 24%.

Here’s an excerpt from that story:

America’s imprisonment rate has dropped to its lowest level since 1995, led by a dive in the percentage of blacks and Hispanics sent to jail during the Trump administration, according to a new Justice tally.

For minorities, the focus of President Trump’s First Step Act prison and criminal reform plan, the rate is the lowest in years.

For blacks, the imprisonment rate in state and federal prisons is the lowest in 31 years and for Hispanics it is down 24%.

“Across the decade from 2009 to 2019, the imprisonment rate fell 29% among black residents, 24% among Hispanic residents and 12% among white residents. In 2019, the imprisonment rate of black residents was the lowest it has been in 30 years, since 1989,” said the report.

Explaining the rate, Justice said, “At year-end 2019, there were 1,096 sentenced black prisoners per 100,000 black residents, 525 sentenced Hispanic prisoners per 100,000 Hispanic residents and 214 sentenced white prisoners per 100,000 white residents in the U.S. Among sentenced state prisoners at year-end 2018 (the most recent data available), a larger percentage of black (62%) and Hispanic (62%) prisoners than white prisoners (48%) were serving time for a violent offense.”

What if you give a press conference and the “press” refuses to show? – Former Hunter Biden/Joe Biden “business” partner Tony Bobulinski found out the hard way when he held a presser right before last night’s debate. Very predictably, almost nobody other than OANN and Fox News showed up.

Here is Ted Cruz excoriating the corrupt news media for its latest bit of malfeasance:

“It’s part of a pattern that we saw last week when the New York Post broke this story, and Big Tech – Twitter and Facebook – censored it, and essentially determined that the American people could not even hear the facts. I think the degree to which the media and Big Tech are shilling for Joe Biden, are protecting him, are covering him up and not even asking these questions, I think it’s really shameful.”

Yep, it really is, Senator.

But, while this current episode of the media shilling for the Democrats seems fresh and new to us in real-time, we should all remember that this really is not new behavior by our corrupt, worthless national news media. They’ve been doing this stuff for Democrats forever.

Go back to October 1919, and Woodrow Wilson’s stroke that left him incapacitated. Wilson’s wife essentially ran the government from then all the way through early 1921, and the pubic didn’t find out the truth for decades. Same with Franklin Roosevelt and his wheelchair. The media covered up that disability for decades. Same with John F. Kennedy’s massive drug abuse and affairs with the girlfriends of mob bosses and Russian spies, not to mention Marilyn Monroe. We didn’t find out about any of that stuff until 20-30 years later.

Remember how the Washington Post and Newsweek sat on the Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky story for months, and would have buried it altogether were it not for the fact that Matt Drudge decided to run with it on his then-fledgling website. And let’s not forget the solid wall of Omerta the media put up on behalf of the utterly despicable John Edwards and his fathering of an illegitimate child during the early phase 2008 presidential campaign.

This has been going on forever, folks. Our national news media has been rank, smelly, lying garbage for decades. It just seems new now because the fresh layer of rank, smelly garbage consisting of Twitter and Facebook has been layered over the top of it.

Matt Gaetz’s Really Stupid War Powers Resolution Vote

The corrupt news media and biased polls tell us this guy is leading the race. – The photo below shows the turnout for a rally for the nation’s Unfrozen Caveman Senator, Quid Pro Joe Biden, on Saturday:

Note the loudspeaker atop an 8-foot stand on the right side of the photo, meaning that the crack Biden campaign staff thought their hero would need a microphone while speaking to this crowd of …1,2,3,4,5, 6,7,8,9,10,…11 people. Talk about overkill.

Like everything else in the corrupt news media today, it’s likely we are being lied to about the real status of the race for the Democrat presidential nomination, and that, once the voting begins, the results will bear only passing relationship to the polls we have been seeing. Stay tuned for some surprises starting in a few weeks.

Matt Gaetz, you got some ‘splainin’ to do. – Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz made a terrible error in judgment this week when he became one of just three Republicans to vote in favor of Nancy Pelosi’s resolution that pretends to somehow “limit” President Trump’s ability to conduct a full-scale war, whether with Iran or any other country.

Gaetz, appearing on Fox News with Tucker Carlson, attempted to explain his vote as follows:

“I spoke to the president today,” Gaetz revealed on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”  “The president told me he is more antiwar than I am, and I love the president for that. The thing is, I think a few of the advisers of the president are trying to slow-walk the administration into war. When the president relies on his instincts and we have the Trump doctrine, we kill the terrorist and we come home.”

“I think this War Powers Resolution was worthy of support because it did not criticize the president,” he said. “It did not say he was wrong in killing [Quds Force Gen.] Soleimani. But…it did say that if any president wants to drag our nation into another forever Middle East war that they require the approval of the United States Congress.”

“That’s something I deeply believe. And I think it’s something the president deeply believes,” he said.

Ok, that’s all well and good, and taken as a pure philosophical analysis, it is something that the vast majority of Trump supporting Republican voters – including me – would agree with. The problem is that philosophy was not all that was at play here. Pelosi’s resolution – which is utterly meaningless as a matter of law or actual impact on any president’s constitutional powers – was a political stunt. More to the point, it was a political stunt intended as a rebuke to this particular President, a symbolic vote condemning his decision to take out Iranian terrorist leader Qassem Soleimani with a drone strike 9 days ago.

There was zero justifiable reason for any real Republican to lend Pelosi support with this cynical political stunt.

It is one thing for a couple of noted libertarian cranks like Rand Paul and Mike Lee to vote for this resolution, which they certainly will do when it comes to a vote in the Senate this coming week. That, after all, is why they threw their dishonest hissy fits following the administration’s confidential briefing on Capitol Hill on Wednesday. They were just setting up their backstories for giving aid and comfort to the enemy, Pelosi.

But it’s quite another thing for Gaetz, who wants to be one of 3 or 4 House Managers who will argue the GOP’s side of the impeachment case in the upcoming senate trail, to do so. The people who want this particular assignment need to be sober and serious GOP members, not someone prone to grandstanding vanity plays, which is what Gaetz’s vote actually was.

What Gaetz actually achieved with this vote was to give Pelosi and her fellow Democrats in the House a propaganda victory. Gaetz has become one of the most high-profile Republican members in the House, and his vote gives Pelosi a poster child she can point to and say, “See? We had bi-partisan support.” Philosophy is important, but political sense and strategy is also vitally important in today’s D.C. Swamp, and Gaetz miserably failed that political test.

Gaetz’s constituents know that, and let him hear about it at an event in Florida Friday evening:

President Trump has basically zero intention of “drag[ging] our nation into another forever Middle East war,” and Pelosi knows it. This meaningless resolution is all about supporting the Democrat/Media narrative that attempts to convince the public otherwise. That’s something Gaetz should have known – but apparently did not – before he cast his stupid vote.

It’s a vote that’s impossible to really justify, and one that he will pay for politically for a long, long time.

President Trump is About to get Everything he Wants in Iraq

Go ahead, twist Trump’s arm. – The Associated Press reports today that Iraq’s prime minister, Adel Abdul-Mahdi, has formally asked the Trump Administration to begin making preparations for withdrawal of U.S. troops from that country.

From the AP story:

The request came in a telephone call Thursday night between Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, a statement from his office said. He also told Pompeo that recent U.S. strikes in Iraq were an unacceptable breach of Iraqi sovereignty and a violation of the two countries’ security agreements.

He asked Pompeo to “send delegates to Iraq to prepare a mechanism to carry out the parliament’s resolution regarding the withdrawal of foreign troops from Iraq,” according to the statement.

“The prime minister said American forces had entered Iraq and drones are flying in its airspace without permission from Iraqi authorities, and this was a violation of the bilateral agreements,” the statement added.

The Democrats and their toadies in the corrupt U.S. news media will no doubt attempt to portray this as some sort of blow to the Trump Administration for the simple fact that none of them have ever made any effort to really understand the President’s actual goals related to Iraq and the Middle East in general.

One more time for anyone who is still not clear on this: One of the main reasons why Donald Trump won the 2016 election was his promise – his repeated, unambiguous promise – to get the U.S. military presence out of all the various Middle East and North African conflicts into which his two immediate predecessors had entangled our country. This President – unlike those two predecessors in office – is a man who is focused on keeping his promises.

This really is not complicated at all.

So, while all the Usual Suspect warmongers in congress like Lindsey Graham and Marco Rubio will scream bloody murder, along with some of the President’s top advisors, President Trump will very likely be quite pleased to grant Abdul-Mahdi’s request. The Democrats and corrupt news media who have been blasting the President as a warmonger over his completely justified killing of Iranian terrorist leader Qassem Soleimani will then turn on a dime and blast him for being naive and rash in deciding to end the U.S.’s 17-year military engagement in Iraq.

At the end of the day, the President stands to achieve every one of his goals related to both Iraq and Iran in just a couple of short weeks, and also to set the stage for a full withdrawal of U.S. military personnel from America’s 18-year engagement in Afghanistan and 5-year engagement in Syria.

This is what Donald Trump was elected to do. It’s amazing how utterly incapable his opponents and critics are of learning that simple reality.

RINOs Rand Paul and Mike Lee are Part of the Problem in the DC Swamp

If I remember correctly, several years ago Rand Paul was held up and harassed by the newly created TSA at an airport in either Nashville or Kentucky. He also had his ribs badly busted up at his home a few years back by some leftist radical wacko as a protest to something that got the left “OUTRAGED” over something Trump did to “OUTRAGE” them.

Same with Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana and a bunch or GOP congressmen getting ambushed at a softball field by a Bernie Sanders’ supporter. In the past three years, we have seen numerous elected Democrats arguing for and promoting outright violence against members of the Trump Administration, Justice Brett Kavanaugh, and other GOP/Trump supporters. Can you imagine the hue and cry and “OUTRAGE” that would happen if top Democrat bananas like a Rep. Steny Hoyer got shot or if a Sen. Corey Booker got assaulted by a right wing-nut?

I just don’t understand how any Republican – whether conservative or moderate – feels compelled to blast this president to the liberal MSM; they seem to relish the opportunity to channel their inner McCain and spew their guts, which displays their RINO tendencies. These supposedly smart and savvy politicians make these appearances on enemy-held TV and constantly get played – or maybe they want to be played – with the net effect of giving the Trump Administration a black eye, a PR hit to no positive purpose.

What did Lee or Paul gain by bitching on TV about yesterday’s intel briefing? When did Barack the Obama ever give you a brief, or listen to ANY GOP input?

Don’t these idiots realize that the MSM would do everything they could to outright defeat and destroy the Pauls and the Lees of the world if given the chance? The media’s goal is to totally destroy the Republican Party and the conservative movement. They promote the radical, violent ANTIFA and BLM groups, and denigrate and impugn the peaceful conservative TEA Party. Yet these idiots – Lee and Paul – keep lining up to give the MSM ammo to hurt Trump, and by extension, themselves; quit giving them fodder.

I don’t remember any Republican (if they ever did, it was always couched in the most tepid terms possible), and certainly no Democrat ever blasting Obama for his “War Criminal Acts” of droning actual American citizens without due process (Are there any Democrats who believe in the rule of law, or due process?), or any other liberal policy when he was president. Where was the pushback on Fast and Furious, the IRS abuse scandal, pallets of cash to Iran, Dreamer EOs etc.?

Why can’t these politicians just shut up and be thought fools rather than open their mouths and remove all doubts? Taking opportunities to gratuitously rip or denigrate Trump on TV does not serve them well especially when they represent Red States/Districts and serves no good purpose. Leave that to the Democrats, and quit giving Schumer, Pelosi, and the MSM metaphorical orgasms!.

Wise up, grow up, and support our pro-American president! Be part of the solution and quit giving aid and comfort to the DEM/MEDIA ENEMY! If you RINOS can’t see the writing on the wall, or reality, then retire and let someone with brains and guts take your place.

Better yet, the primaries will soon be upon us which signals the opening of RINO Season. To all Red States and reasonable Purple States, please primary these old war horse losers and get some conservative leaders to replace them.

Mike Lee and Rand Paul Should be Ashamed of Themselves

Tired of all this WINNING yet? – Gosh, it’s been like four trading days since we were able to celebrate the setting of new record highs on the various stock market indexes. Oh, hey, that’s because it has been all of four trading days since that happened. But on Wednesday that happened yet again, with both the NASDAQ and S&P 500 closing at record high levels. The Dow closed slightly below its all-time record due only to weakness at Boeing after one of its planes flown by Ukrainian Airlines was shot down shortly after taking off from Tehran. The Dow’s futures, however, are pointing to a record-high opening later this morning.

WINNING, bigly.

Speaking of WINNING, when did Rand Paul and Mike Lee, Republican senators from Kentucky and Utah respectively, become such LOSERS? This question arose late Tuesday after these two emerged from a congressional briefing conducted by the Trump Administration’s military and national security team on the situation with Iran, whining about what they characterized as the “amateurish” nature of the briefing.

Watch as Senator Lee goes absurdly ballistic upon leaving the breifing:

This seems to be Lee’s main complaint: “They [the briefers] were asked repeatedly, what, if anything, would trigger the need for the Administration to come back to congress for a declaration of war or the authorization of the use of military force? At one point I think one of the briefers said something along the lines of ‘I’m sure we could think of something.’ But they struggled to identify anything….They were asked a number of hypotheticals about situations in which they might have to appropriately have to come to ask for authorization from congress. Not once did they say yes.”

Oh, ok. Senator James Lankford (R-OK) and several other Republicans present for the same briefing completely debunked Lee’s statement, but let’s deal with that in more detail in a bit.

Before we do that, listen to Sen. Paul’s complaint as aired with the despicable Wolf Blitzer at CNN:

“No specific information given to us of a specific attack, uh, generalities, stuff you read in a newspaper was given to us. I didn’t learn anything in the hearing that I hadn’t seen in a newspaper already, and none of it was overwhelming that ‘x’ was going to happen. I’m not saying that, uh – the world being rid of Soleimani is probably a good thing. But in the end, how we go about it and the ramifications of it are very important. I think it’s made it much more difficult to have engagement or any kind of diplomacy with Iran. I doubt they’ll be coming to the negotiating table anytime soon.”

This is what happens when you get libertarian ideologues pretending to be Republicans. It is frankly stunning that someone as normally savvy as Rand Paul could witness the cowardly standing down by the Iranian Mullahs that has taken place since the completely justified killing of one of the worlds most deadly Islamic terrorist leaders and be so naive as to think it makes them LESS likely to want to negotiate. He is his father’s son at the end of the day.

It is also truly despicable for Paul and Lee to complain about the Administration briefers dealing in generalities and refusing to speculate about what Lee refers to as “hypotheticals.” Oh, golly, why might that be their behavior in a room filled with seditious Democrats?

Obviously, any classified details the Administration officials might have revealed during this briefing would have ended up being aired by Blitzer or someone else at CNN before the briefing had ended. Both Senators Paul and Lee know this reality full well.

And Lee also well knows that any concession by anyone in the Administration about any single hypothetical tossed at them might require President Trump to seek congressional approval would immediately become just another Democrat/media narrative that would attempt to tie the Administration’s hands against taking any further unilateral action whatsoever as it relates to Iran.

This was despicable, shameful behavior by two ostensible Republican senators who know better.

Watch as James Lankford – who no one can claim to be some flunky for President Trump – completely debunks Lee’s claims starting at the 1:22 mark:

“Yeah, it has been very interesting. I’ve seen some of my colleagues come out and make comments like that. In fact, one of my colleagues stepped out and said the whole group was doing a briefing with us and when the questions got hard that they left and they ran off. That was absolutely, positively false. That did not occur. They weren’t running away. We started at 2:30 and we finished at 4:00 because they had meetings in the White House.”

If America had anything resembling an honest, real media establishment, President Donald Trump’s speech on Iran today would be roundly hailed as one of the greatest, most pitch-perfect presidential addresses in modern times. – But of course, what we actually have in America is an utterly corrupt media establishment that is all-consumed with Trump Derangement Syndrome. Thus, all the hacks will do is parrot the approved talking points provided to them by the Democrat/media/Deep State Axis of Disinformation.

So, as courtesy to the thousands of loyal readers who have given the Campaign Update its three greatest months ever since October, here follows a video of the full speech, followed by a complete and unfiltered transcript of the President’s remarks. As long as I am President of the United States, Iran will never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.

Good morning. I’m pleased to inform you: The American people should be extremely grateful and happy that no Americans were harmed in last night’s attack by the Iranian regime. We suffered no casualties, all of our soldiers are safe, and only minimal damage was sustained at our military bases. Our great American forces are prepared for anything. Iran appears to be standing down, which is a good thing for all parties concerned and a very good thing for the world.

No American or Iraqi lives were lost because of the precautions taken, the dispersal of forces, and an early warning system that worked very well. I salute the incredible skill and courage of America’s men and women in uniform.

For far too long — all the way back to 1979, to be exact — nations have tolerated Iran’s destructive and destabilizing behavior in the Middle East and beyond. Those days are over. Iran has been the leading sponsor of terrorism, and their pursuit of nuclear weapons threatens the civilized world. We will never let that happen.

Last week, we took decisive action to stop a ruthless terrorist from threatening American lives. At my direction, the United States military eliminated the world’s top terrorist, Qasem Soleimani. As the head of the Quds Force, Soleimani was personally responsible for some of the absolutely worst atrocities.

He trained terrorist armies, including Hezbollah, launching terrorist strikes against civilian targets. He fueled bloody civil wars all across the region. He viciously wounded and murdered thousands of U.S. troops, including the planting of roadside bombs that maim and dismember their victims.

Soleimani directed the recent attacks on U.S. personnel in Iraq that badly wounded four service members and killed one American, and he orchestrated the violent assault on the U.S. embassy in Baghdad. In recent days, he was planning new attacks on American targets, but we stopped him.

Soleimani’s hands were drenched in both American and Iranian blood. He should have been terminated long ago. By removing Soleimani, we have sent a powerful message to terrorists: If you value your own life, you will not threaten the lives of our people.

As we continue to evaluate options in response to Iranian aggression, the United States will immediately impose additional punishing economic sanctions on the Iranian regime. These powerful sanctions will remain until Iran changes its behavior.

In recent months alone, Iran has seized ships in international waters, fired an unprovoked strike on Saudi Arabia, and shot down two U.S. drones.

Iran’s hostilities substantially increased after the foolish Iran nuclear deal was signed in 2013, and they were given $150 billion, not to mention $1.8 billion in cash. Instead of saying “thank you” to the United States, they chanted “death to America.” In fact, they chanted “death to America” the day the agreement was signed.

Then, Iran went on a terror spree, funded by the money from the deal, and created hell in Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Afghanistan, and Iraq. The missiles fired last night at us and our allies were paid for with the funds made available by the last administration. The regime also greatly tightened the reins on their own country, even recently killing 1,500 people at the many protests that are taking place all throughout Iran.

The very defective JCPOA expires shortly anyway, and gives Iran a clear and quick path to nuclear breakout. Iran must abandon its nuclear ambitions and end its support for terrorism. The time has come for the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Russia, and China to recognize this reality.

They must now break away from the remnants of the Iran deal -– or JCPOA –- and we must all work together toward making a deal with Iran that makes the world a safer and more peaceful place. We must also make a deal that allows Iran to thrive and prosper, and take advantage of its enormous untapped potential. Iran can be a great country.

Peace and stability cannot prevail in the Middle East as long as Iran continues to foment violence, unrest, hatred, and war. The civilized world must send a clear and unified message to the Iranian regime: Your campaign of terror, murder, mayhem will not be tolerated any longer. It will not be allowed to go forward.

Today, I am going to ask NATO to become much more involved in the Middle East process. Over the last three years, under my leadership, our economy is stronger than ever before and America has achieved energy independence. These historic accompliments [accomplishments] changed our strategic priorities. These are accomplishments that nobody thought were possible. And options in the Middle East became available. We are now the number-one producer of oil and natural gas anywhere in the world. We are independent, and we do not need Middle East oil.

The American military has been completely rebuilt under my administration, at a cost of $2.5 trillion. U.S. Armed Forces are stronger than ever before. Our missiles are big, powerful, accurate, lethal, and fast. Under construction are many hypersonic missiles.

The fact that we have this great military and equipment, however, does not mean we have to use it. We do not want to use it. American strength, both military and economic, is the best deterrent.

Three months ago, after destroying 100 percent of ISIS and its territorial caliphate, we killed the savage leader of ISIS, al-Baghdadi, who was responsible for so much death, including the mass beheadings of Christians, Muslims, and all who stood in his way. He was a monster. Al-Baghdadi was trying again to rebuild the ISIS caliphate, and failed.

Tens of thousands of ISIS fighters have been killed or captured during my administration. ISIS is a natural enemy of Iran. The destruction of ISIS is good for Iran, and we should work together on this and other shared priorities.

Finally, to the people and leaders of Iran: We want you to have a future and a great future — one that you deserve, one of prosperity at home, and harmony with the nations of the world. The United States is ready to embrace peace with all who seek it.

Fox News is reporting that Iran’s government has designated the U.S. Army as a “terrorist organization.” – That’s like having the Veggie Whopper designate you as a bad hamburger. Silliness.

Yeah, that narrative isn’t going to work, either, CNN. – We talk a lot about how the Democrats and their toadies in the corrupt news media coordinate daily on the narratives they plan to push. This is because that’s exactly what they do on a daily basis in their tireless efforts to destroy the foundations of the American Republic and hamper the Trump Administration’s policy efforts.

In Sunday morning’s Update, we laid out the Democrat/Media’s overarching narrative in response to the glorious killing of Iranian terrorist leader Qassem Soleimani, and why it will fail with the American public. 24 hours later, the despicable toadies at CNN tried to run with another element of their narrative, as they and their Democrat benefactors go through basically the same playbook they deploy in response to any military strike or campaign ordered by any Republican president.

This element is called the “nobody else agrees with the U.S. position on this” canard. Its premise is that the action taken or planned for the future by the U.S. president is inherently invalid because no other country – especially the nations of Europe – are on board with it. We have seen this posture assumed by the Democrats and their corrupt media toadies in response to every military venture authorized by a Republican president since Grenada.

On Monday evening, CNN International’s Becky Anderson, who is a British reporter based in Dubai, attempted to roll this narrative element out to her channel’s paltry audience during an interview with stellar State Department Spokesman Morgan Ortagus. The results were spectacular.

Anderson: The United States does, ummm, seem to be almost completely isolated when it comes to its position on Iran at present. U.S. allies in Europe, in the Middle East where I am, and in Asia are either calling for de-escalation or are virtually silent. There is almost no support for U.S. actions. Morgan, where are America’s allies at this point?

Ortagus: With all due respect, that’s just another completely inaccurate observation. You could look at the E3 Statement that was put out this morning by the Germans, the British and the French. The British, the Italians, you could go through the list of the people who have said that [Anderson attempts to shut her down here] the world is a better place now that Soleimani’s dead.

Anderson: You talked about the need for de-escalation, with respect.

Ortagus: We have talked about the need for de-escalation. We have called for a peaceful resolution – the President has consistently said that he does not want a war, that we believe we can solve our differences bilaterally. There’s two things that this President has consistently said since the beginning of this Administration, and that is that he wants peace, that he doesn’t want war and that Iran will not get a nuclear weapon. And those two things are not mutually inconsistent.

And, may I add, Brian Hook, our Special Envoy for Iran was just with NATO this morning, briefing them. We are incredibly confident in this public statement. Your audience should know, and should go and read the E3 statement put out by the Germans, the French and the British [Anderson interrupting again here] that contradict what you just said to me. It completely contradicts you.

Anderson: [Now visibly angry] Wha..hang on a minute…hang on a minute. Mike Pompeo said he was disappointed with the Europeans’ reaction. What did he mean by that?

Ortagus: He said that on Friday night, and there’s a brand-spanking new statement this morning from the E3 that we are quite pleased with, that you can go Google right now.

Anderson: [Several seconds of dead air as Anderson attempts to compose herself. Listen to how high-pitched her voice gets here as she tries to control her anger.]  Now that Iran has said it is no longer going to abide by the nuclear deal…

Ortagus: …They’ve been saying that for a long time now…

Anderson: …how lo..how lo…I haven’t fi…with respect, I haven’t finished. There will be those watching the show, uh, tonight who say that the United States has actually brought the world closer to a nuclear Iran. To which you say what?

Ortagus: Iran has been saying for a long time that they wouldn’t abide by the JCPOA. The fact has been that the E3, our European partners, if you go back to September, to the UN General Assembly in New York, and look at that statement, in the beginning of the week that the E3 put out. Again, the E3 called for Iran to come back to the negotiating table for a new and better deal. The Europeans have also said very publicly that they were, they have expressed their displeasure at the Iranian regime, consistently saying over the past, I think it’s been at least six months, that they’re going to defy the JCPOA.

So you don’t have to take America’s word for it. Take the Europeans’ word for it.

Anderson: That… we will leave it there.

It’s important to note that CNN wasn’t the only corrupt media outlet attempting to roll out this element of the Democrat/media playbook on Monday. Ortagus was also interviewed on the same subject by SkyNews, and by the detestable Leland Vittert on Fox News. The results of both interviews were basically the same, with Ortagus scorching the earth with the leftist hacks.

Again as we have pointed out in the past, none of this media hostility towards Republican presidents originated with Donald Trump. This dynamic of rank liberal bias in the media goes back to the dawn of television as a medium, and really to the 1920s, as communists began to infiltrate journalism schools and newspapers in the United States.

The difference in this administration is the volume and pervasiveness of it all, along with the fact that the corrupt journalists and editors no longer even make a token effort to attempt to hide their bias. At least Walter Cronkite and Tom Brokaw tried to pretend to be even-handed.

All of which makes getting good people into the spokesperson jobs more important than ever. Morgan Ortagus deserves a raise.

Today, President Donald Trump called the Iraqi government’s bluff, authorizing the commanding general of joint coalition forces in Iraq to send a formal letter to the Iraqi commanding officer notifying him of pending operations for coalition forces to depart from Iraq. This comes in the wake of the vote of the Iraqi parliament over the weekend to demand U.S. forces leave the region.

Sir: In due deference to the sovereignty of the Republic of Iraq, and as requested by the Iraqi parliament and Prime Minister, CTJF-OIR will be repositioning forces over the coming days and weeks to prepare for onward movement.

In order to conduct this task, Coalition Forces are required to take certain measures to ensure that the movement out of Iraq is conducted in a safe and efficient manner.

During this time, there will be an increase in helicopter travel in and around the International Zone (IZ) of Baghdad. This increased traffic will include CH-47, UH-60 and AH-64 security escort helicopters.

Coalition forces will take appropriate measures to minimize and mitigate the disturbance to the public. In addition, we will conduct these operations during hours of darkness to help alleviate any perception that we may be bringing more coalition forces into the IZ.

As we begin implementing this next phase of operations, I want to reiterate the value of our friendship and partnership. We respect your sovereign decision to order our departure.

As we have repeatedly pointed out here at the Campaign Update, one of the main reasons why Donald J. Trump was elected to the presidency in 2016 was his promise to get U.S. armed forces personnel out of the myriad interminable Middle East conflicts into which his predecessors in office had gotten our country entangled.

Trump’s basic message during the campaign was that these wars between various Islamic countries and factions have been going on for eons, and nothing the U.S. can do – no amount of treasure or lives sacrificed – will end that reality. So, let the Islamic states in the region fight it out amongst themselves, and focus U.S. military efforts in the Middle East on protecting our assets and few real allies there – Israel and Saudi Arabia, mainly.

The Iraqi parliament’s demand over the weekend, whether serious or not, plays directly into the President’s hands in this regard.

It is also key to note that this strategic gambit would not be possible were it not for the fact that the U.S. today enjoys a much higher level of energy security than it did during past presidencies, thanks mainly to the shale oil and gas revolution that has taken place here over the past decade. The U.S. is not completely energy “independent” and probably never will be, but our country today has very little compelling national interest in risking American lives and treasure to keep the oil spigots in countries like Iran and Iraq open.

So, this letter from Brig. General Seely now puts the ball squarely back in the Iraqi government’s court. President Trump has basically said, hey, if you want to become a client state of the mullahs in Iran, go for it.

It will be interesting to see how Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi responds.

UPDATE: Well, maybe it’s not quite goodbye after all. Here is an official Pentagon statement on the matter:

Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Dilley earlier stated that the letter is real, but the version released on social media is a “draft” that should not have gotten out. Prior to that Defense Secretary Mark Esper said that the letter was not real.

Did someone just get caught in a mole hunt?

I will update this story if the official version keeps changing.

Trump is Completely Exposing the Democrats and the Media

Today’s Campaign Update, Part III
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

[Note: The following piece is from contributor Gregg Updike. I hope you enjoy his thoughts on the situation with Iran, and how President Trump is exposing the seditious nature of the Democrat Party and its corrupt media toadies – I know I did.]

While it is great that President Trump has recently taken out a couple of head honchos in the Middle East, can anyone doubt that their #2s (in every sense of the word) won’t just take over and continue their fight?  Had Hitler been successfully assassinated in July 1944, Goering would have taken over, then Himmler…

Point being, just because America took out these leaders, it does not mean Iran and ISIS will stack their bats and quit the field.  This means we need to be even more vigilant against reprisals.  I am in no way saying that Trump is wrong in what he is doing, I’m just saying these “foreign entanglements”, and their consequences, are far from over.  I only hope and pray for our president’s safety, and that he soon removes all our assets (targets) including our embassies from that entire region; let the various factions pound each other into the sand.  ​​

Now that we are oil independent, turn the keys over to Israel and let them have at it; let them either win outright with our tacit support, or continue with the tit-for-tat fighting that has been going on there forever.  I don’t care which route Israel takes, and neither should most Americans.  It would be nice, however, if a greater number of Americans of Jewish descent would actually support Trump and his efforts to defeat Israel’s ancient enemies abroad and renounce and work to defeat Anti-Semitic Democratic Politicians here rather than voting lockstep Democrat for whatever reason.​

Once we are out of the region, our doctrine should be: we will flatten any country that causes us harm – period, end of story, with no “nation building/rebuilding”.  Let Europe, without the US propping up NATO, fend for itself against the threats from the Middle East, Russia, and China.  And finally, we must get out of the UN and get the UN out of America.​​

Apart from the transformation of the courts, and the draining of the swamp via Barr and Durham, Trump’s greatest contribution to America will be the total exposure of the media and the Democratic Party as a cabal of anti-American seditionists.  Sooner or later there will be a Bastille Day of sorts, and the domestic enemies of America as founded will be dealt with.  They will be easy to find as they are doing a wonderful job of exposing themselves for all to see.

They are effectively targeting themselves for destruction by openly rooting for our enemies and against America/Trump. Yet these “journalists” and other “experts” are supposed to be among the best and brightest from American institutions of higher learning; how myopic they all are.  In the interim, Trump is driving them insane with their TDS and making them more and more irrelevant.​​

The MSM is, and has been, working hand in hand with America’s domestic enemies to diminish and destroy our constitution, amendment by amendment for decades.  What makes them think the 1st Amendment will survive to protect them if the “Fundamental Change” that the Obama types want to bring to America ever comes to fruition?​

On the foreign side, the NY Times had a reporter named Walter Duranty espousing Stalin’s communist propaganda from Moscow pre WWII, CNN had an embed in Middle East during Gulf War 1 who refused to be debriefed by the Pentagon upon his return after the first war.  And before and during the second Iraq War, CNN had “exclusive” coverage from their Baghdad “correspondent” who was reporting to the world only exactly what Saddam Hussein and Baghdad Bob allowed him to say.

I also remember how many, if not most MSM TV anchors refused to wear US Flag lapel pins stating they didn’t want to be seen rooting for one side or the other – just the facts, uh, sure, right.  Presidents Wilson (D), and FDR (D) most certainly censored the press during their terms, so there is precedent on the regulation of “Free” (Political) Speech.​

History has shown when there is a “Fundamental Change” i.e. revolution, or invasion of a country, or other takeover, the first people purged are the “intelligentsia” including professors of higher learning and the press… ​​

I’m a capable and productive person who is very adaptable and has worked many blue collar jobs and I can survive in almost any political environment by what I bring to the table.  I don’t believe any of these singularly specialized propagandists, masquerading as “experts” or “journalists” are capable of doing anything but being keyboard warriors, and ignorant social justice and environmental agitators.

They will be the first ones eliminated if and when true socialism/fascism/communism comes to America. The constitution as we know it will be gone, and the country will be ruled by a dictator.  No dictator would ever tolerate any such fifth column activity; it will be brutally put down just as sure as the sun comes up every day.​​

I only hope the “useful idiots” that the left has used for their evil anti-American purpose will someday soon wise up and abandon their (ultimately petty) crusades for their own sake.  Of the 328 or so million people in the US, only about 8-10% are the agitators, the loudmouths, the troublemakers to varying degrees; still that can be as many as ten million people young or old enough to actually be active in all the protests/riots that are sure to come this November when Trump wins a second term in a landslide, and the House flips to the GOP.

I truly believe that the other 90+ percent of the country – if not the world – are fundamentally good people who would just love to be able to live their lives in peaceful coexistence without all this conflict and drama. It’s the 10 percenters that must be defeated and ultimately eliminated for peace to prevail.​

The president has shown great acumen in his ability to be ahead of the curve and has been very successful in blunting and exposing the left’s agenda(s).  His second term, starting with the first sign of violence after the election, must be the direct, forceful and complete stopping of all the paid professional protesters/rioters.  Then he must go after all the domestic and foreign money people funding this Anti-American revolution/coup.

The presidential oath states the president’s first obligation is to protect and defend America and its’ Constitution from all foreign and domestic enemies.  All of the people and entities (including and especially the MSM/SM) who have been engaged in this three plus year coup, Logan Act Violations, aiding and abetting election interference (that was actually done by the Democrats), illegally spying on any American, or allowing/authorizing the same, and who promote the subsequent violence should be charged under the RICO Act.

Democrat/Media Soleimani Narrative is an Epic Failure

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II

It’s all so predictable and tiresome, but exactly what we should expect from these people. – The Democrats and their corrupt toadies in the nation’s fake news media are pushing a ridiculous narrative in the wake of President Trump’s order to take out Iranian Revolutionary Guard terrorist leader Qassem Soleimani with a drone strike at the Baghdad International Airport. It is a narrative that is doomed to become an epic fail.

The narrative basically goes like this: President Trump should have consulted congressional leaders in advance of taking any action. His failure to do so creates a constitutional crisis and may be a “war crime.” He also must provide a more specific, detailed public explanation for the reasons why he decided Soleimani had to be taken out, including the public revelation of the intelligence information relied upon. The detestable hack Chris Wallace is in fact pushing this very narrative on Fox News Sunday in his interview with Sec. State Mike Pompeo as this piece is being written.

All of which is just another steaming pile of smelly horse manure brought to you by your friends at the Democrat/media/Deep State Axis of Disinformation.

First, on the question of some presidential “obligation” to notify congressional leaders in advance of a drone strike on Islamic terrorists: That all went out the window when the Democrat Party’s leaders clearly began to demonstrate they have a higher loyalty to the terrorist than they do to our country. Let’s all remember this from May, 2018:

Remember? Former Obama Secretary of State John Kerry spent days in Paris meeting with Iranian leaders, advising them on ways to thwart President Trump and his official U.S. foreign policy. And Kerry is far from the only Democrat who has been engaged in this kind of subversive activity during the Trump Administration.

President Trump, in this instance, actually had an obligation to U.S. national security NOT to inform any Democrat in advance of taking this action for the simple fact that he knows without any doubt that no Democrat in Washington can be trusted any longer with U.S. national security secrets. He knows that within 5 minutes of informing a Chuck Schumer or Nancy Pelosi of a pending action, that information would have appeared on CNN or at the New York Times or Washington Post websites.

Yes, presidents in the past – you know, back when Democrat leaders were actually loyal Americans – have traditionally tried to inform congressional leaders of both parties in advance of significant military actions, but there is simply no governing legal authority mandating that he do so. As we noted here a few days ago, Barack Obama his own self authorized hundreds, if not thousands, of drone strikes on terrorist targets during his eight years in office without notifying anyone in congress, and no Democrat ever expressed any concern about it.

For the very same reasons mentioned above, if President Trump’s action was a “war crime,” then what of Obama? What about George W. Bush and Bill Clinton? Sorry, Dems, that cat don’t flush.

Then there this contention about the President having some obligation to offer a more detailed explanation of the reasons behind the strike on Soleimani, including the somewhat stunning contention that he must release the highly-classified intelligence information he relied upon in making his decision. This from the same political party that still refuses to release the transcripts of all of its Soviet-style impeachment witness interrogations, mind you.

The Administration, through Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the President himself, has already laid out its reasons for taking action in general terms. More specific, detailed information about Soleimani and his myriad terrorist actions over the past few decades can be found in the guest piece published here Sunday morning (Quassem Soleimani, the IRGC, and why the “General” had to die).

Obviously, the President has zero obligation to the Democrats or anyone else to publish highly-classified intelligence information that would without any doubt at all put U.S. or Israeli intelligence sources in severe danger (which may actually be the goal behind these Democrat requests). But Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw, himself a veteran of several tours in the Middle East as a Navy Seal, may have handled it better than anyone in response to a tweet by the despicable Democrat clown Eric Swalwell:

Oof.

Note that Swalwell also demands that the President inform the public – and thus the Islamic terrorists who run Iran – in advance of his “concrete plan for dealing with its [turning Soleimani into a fine, pink mist] consequences.”

Yeah, that’s just stupid, dude. Not happening.

Bottom line: The Democrat/media/deep state Axis of Disinformation is pushing a stupid, shameful, epic failure of a narrative in the wake of a killing that any American with functioning synapses in their cranium will continue to celebrate.

Qassem Soleimani, the IRGC, and why the “General” had to die

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

[Note: I received the following insights over the weekend from the same veteran who has contributed here previously. It is fairly long, but well worth the read if you want to really understand why Soleimani’s killing was not only justified, but essentially mandatory for any U.S. President interested in doing his job properly.  I have added some bolding for emphasis.]

From: A Veteran with 20+ years of service, a Naval Aviator who flew combat missions in Iraq, and had 15+ years in counter-terrorism.  Also served as a flight instructor at NAS Pensacola. 

Over the past several days, I’ve watched the Network News and various news outlets struggle with the reporting on the death of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani (IRCG, Quds Commander).  While it has been infuriating watching Democrats from the media through presidential candidates lament the death of the world’s leading terrorist, much of that is born of ignorance to the region and simply not knowing who Qassem Soleimani was or what he was responsible for.

Some CRITICAL background information needed to understand what is going on with regard this termination.

All middle east discussions have to start with viewing of conflicts based not on borders or nations, but primarily as Sunni or Shia.  If you have 9 minutes to start an understanding on middle-east issues, the video linked here is a must-watch

If you don’t have 9 minutes, the Cliff’s notes are thus:

After Muhammad died, Islam split based on who they thought should rule.  Sunni Muslims thought that direct descendants of Muhammad should rule the Islamic World.  Shiite (Shia) Muslims think that Islam should be led by Clerics.  Much in the way that Christianity fought centuries of wars from the middle of the 1400’s with the Hussite Rebellion in the Czech Republic (the first sparks of Protestantism) through the 30 years war (ending in 1648) against itself…Islam has never had an equivalent of the Peace of Westphalia, and the rival sects have killed millions of each other in Allah’s name over the centuries. Islamic Empires (and now nations) have very rarely fought a secular war.  It is either Jihad for expansion  (the last one of those ended Sept 11th, 1683 in Vienna) or against Israel (the Great Satan), or an effort to impose their brand of Islam on others.

When applying the Sunni/Shia split to Iran, that nation is virtually exclusive Shia, as reflected in their Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.  The first portion of that name, “Ali” is a title that infers his position as the head of Shiite Islam.  While Iran has an elected President and other houses of Government, as an Islamic Theocracy, Ali Khamenei’s position supersedes all elected officials, and he is also the head cleric of a large portion of the Islamic world.

This religious position is critical for Iranian influence around the world, as Shia Muslims outside of Iran will typically have primary allegiance to Ali over any local government.  Additionally, the punishments for denial of this authority are well beyond a fine or prison time.  Refusal to submit to the authority of Ali is often punished as apostasy which carries the penalty of death.  Briefly imagine the complexities of being an Iraqi Police Commander and your force is a mix of Sunni and Shia police officers.

So, what is the IRGC, and the Quds Force, and why did Qassem Soleimani need to die?

Just as we have covered that Iran has a secular style of government and a religious government, it also has parallel military forces.  Iran maintains a “regular” Army, Navy, and Air Force that are organized along standard structures.  Parallel to these forces, Iran also maintains the IRGC (Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps) which follows only the orders of Ali Khamenei.  The IRGC’s mission is essentially in its name: It Guards the Revolution, and that revolution was to make Shia Islam the ruling force of Iran (when the Shah was deposed) and spread that influence across the globe.

The IRGC has components that mirror Army, Navy, Special Forces, and Intelligence structures.  When you hear talking heads on TV say things like “Iran is behind this” or “Iranian backed rebels,” they are talking about influence that is exported via the IRGC, specifically the Quds force which was led by Qassem Soleimani.

When Americans think of famous terrorists, the first to come to mind is Usama Bin Laden.  While UBL’s name came to prominence after the September 11th attacks until his ultimate demise, the reach and resources of Al Qaeda paled in comparison to what Iran has done over the past 40+ years.

Over the last two decades, every terrorist action or Shiite Rebel Campaign has come at the direction of Qassem Soleimani.

There has been the data point that Soleimani was responsible for the deaths of 603 American troops in Iraq. While this is true, it is an incredibly small line item in the overall bill that we owed Soleimani as that number was due to a specific munition that was traced to Iran and the IRGC.

The broader truth is that Iran used the IRGC Quds force as their focal point for exerting Shia influence in Iraq since the U.S. removal of Saddam Hussein.  10+ years of insurgency and interference with the best chance Democracy has ever had in the middle east were led by Qassem Soleimani.  Oh, and all of the conflicts in Lebanon, Yemen, Afghanistan, and Gaza are his responsibility as well.

To understand just how important Qassem Soleimani is, consider that his responsibilities are essentially the same as our: Head of CIA, Head of Secret Service, Secretary of Defense, Secretary of State, and 4 Star SOCOM Commander.  An absurd claim by the media was that Soleimani was our “ally against ISIS”.  It is true that Shia militias backed by the IRGC fought against ISIS (which was Sunni).  At no point did the United States ever ally ourselves with the IRGC or Qassem Soleimani.  The better analogy is that Iran is Shia version of ISIS, they just have control of a nation and international standing (by virtue of their revolution, allowed by Jimmy Carter) and ISIS’ territory and government never gained international recognition…and Trump crushed ISIS.

Why did he have to die?

This is the question that the mainstream media has been tripping over themselves in failed attempts to answer.

His record of deploying weapons to insurgents to use against US Troops is enough to warrant his death sentence for any reasonable person.  The balance of his list of war crimes and crimes against humanity should be enough to remove any doubt.

What finally got him terminated was the brazen attack on the US Embassy in Baghdad last week.  It is frankly shocking that a man in this position felt comfortable moving freely about Iraq and directing this attack personally.  It is stupefying that US Media outlets covered that attack as “mourners” marching on the embassy.  Some of them probably still believe that the attack in Benghazi was because of a youtube video.  President Trump had previously warned Iran after they shot down a drone that they would bear an extreme price if they “shot at anything American” again.

In this case, all of the diplomatic finger pointing was skipped.  There was no trial in the media or on the floor of the UN where we produced pictures of the General at the Airport and made a case to the international community.  The trial phase took place in a SCIF, and Soleimani’s sentence was delivered by the red-button of a REAPER operator watching the cross hairs on his FLIR display.  That poor pilot didn’t even get to hear the “woosh” of the weapon leaving the rail.

Iran has announced that they are going to have “Three Days of Mourning”.  I personally think that translates to “Give us 72 hours to try and figure out just how badly we have screwed up.”  I don’t have any bold predictions on how Iran will respond, if at all.

Certainly, there will be bluster.  Senator Lindsey Graham has already mentioned just how easily Iran could be put out of the Oil Business.  My friends in Naval Aviation assure me that can happen in a day.  I do not think the Iranian leadership can survive much longer if economics don’t change.

The ball is squarely in Iran’s court at this point.  President Trump made it clear that he prefers to negotiate, and this week’s actions show that he is a man of his word, and he won’t hesitate to “whack a made man”.  Iran’s regular military should be respected, but not feared.  If Iran chooses to attack a capital asset like a Navy Warship or launch missile attack against a Saudi Airbase, the response would be overwhelming.

Tucker Carlson Makes Some Good, and not-so-Good Points on Iran

Just to be clear, one of the main reasons why I supported Donald Trump for the presidency in 2016 was his promise to scale down the U.S. military presence in the Middle East and end our military intervention in the no fewer than 8 regional conflicts in which his predecessors in office had the U.S. involved.

The President has by and large kept that promise, slowly but surely scaling down our country’s involvement in hellholes like Syria and Afghanistan. At the same time, he has largely avoided the siren song from his neocon and Obama holdover advisers to involve the U.S. military directly in additional conflicts in the region.

As a result, I’m generally in agreement with Fox prime time host Tucker Carlson’s position on international affairs. Carlson is a down-the-line non-interventionist, and that’s generally a good thing. He also spends a lot of time hilariously mocking neocon, never-Trump nitwits like Max Boot and Bill Kristol, which is another definite badge of honor on his chest.

But last night, Carlson went a bit over the line, comparing the U.S. killing of Iranian terrorist leader Qassem Soleimani to a situation in which Iran were to kill America’s chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, calling it an “act of war.” Well, it was an act of war, given that Soleimani was a leader of warriors who was killed as he was actively planning more attacks on American lives. That’s why he was killed – because he has been at war with the United States and our people throughout his entire adult life.

But the analogy Carlson draws here is not apt, because it legitimizes Soleimani and his actions. Soleimani was a terrorist, not a legitimate military leader – if we cannot draw that distinction, then we should just give up the idea of civilization in general. That having been said, Carlson did make some fine points about the neverending war lobby that is constituted and led by nitwits like Boot and Kristol and John Bolton:

“‘Threats in the region,’” he said, mimicking Mike Pompeo’s statement of the reason why Soleimani was taken out. “If you don’t live in Washington, here’s the translation. That would be in hostile middle eastern countries, places where American troops would never be in the first place, were it not for the insistent demands of non-geniuses like Max Boot and John Bolton. But never mind. No one in Washington is in the mood for big-picture questions right now, questions, the obvious ones, like: Is Iran really the greatest threat we face? And: who’s actually benefiting from this? And: why are we continuing to ignore the decline of our own country in favor of jumping into another quagmire, from which there’s no obvious exit? By the way, if we’re still in Afghanistan 19 sad years later, what makes us think there’s a quick way out of Iran?”

He continued, “Before we enter into a single new war, there’s a criterion that ought to be met. Our leaders should explain to us how that conflict will make the United States richer and more secure,” Carlson contended. “There are an awful lot of bad people in this world. We can’t kill them all. It’s not our job. Instead, our government exists to defend and promote the interests of American citizens. Period. That’s why we have a government. So, how has the killing of Soleimani done that? Maybe. No one in Washington has explained how.”

Those are all excellent points that thinking Americans – and President Trump – should keep in mind. The people in Washington DC agitating for outright war with Iran today are the very same people who got us into all these interminable quagmires in that region in the first place. They should be shunned and ignored.

But Carlson does miss the crucial point that made the retaliation against Soleimani and Iran an imperative in this case: Soleimani had just organized and led an effort to storm the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. Hundreds of American lives were jeopardized in the process. That is why Soleimani was in Baghdad in the first place.

As Carlson rightly says, we can’t kill all the bad people in the world. However, we can and must kill terrorist leaders like Soleimani when the opportunity presents itself, in order to prevent their taking more American lives in the future.

As I pointed out on Thursday, our diplomatic embassies are U.S. soil, and must be defended as we would defend our homeland. The failure by the Obama White House and Pentagon to do that in Benghazi got four Americans killed by a mob similar to what we saw in Baghdad this week.

Carlson is correct to warn against being drawn into a larger, general war with Iran. That is a war we could “win” in about a week, but would then end up spending trillions of U.S. dollars and untold numbers of U.S. lives in the years to come trying to rebuild that country and keep the illusional “peace,” as we have done over the last 18 years in Afghanistan and 17 years in Iraq.

But he is wrong to condemn the killing of Soleimani: That act was not only absolutely justified, but entirely necessary. God Bless President Trump for having the wisdom to authorize it.

Thank you very much and good afternoon. As President, my highest and most solemn duty is the defense of our nation and its citizens. Last night at my direction, the United States military very successfully executed a flawless precision strike that killed the number one terrorist anywhere in the world, Qassem Soleimani.

Soleimani was plotting imminent and sinister attacks on American diplomats and military personnel, but we caught him in the act, and terminated him. Under my leadership, America’s policy is unambiguous to terrorists who harm or intend to harm any American: We will find you, we will eliminate you, we will always protect our diplomats, our military members, all Americans, and our allies.

For years, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard corps and its ruthless Quds force under Soleimani’s leadership has targeted, injured and murdered hundreds of American civilians and service men. The recent attacks on U.S. targets in Iraq, including rocket strikes that killed an American and injured four Americans very badly, as well as the violent assault on our Embassy in Baghdad, were carried out at the direction of Soleimani.

Soleimani made the death of innocent people his sick passion, contributing to terrorist plots as far away as New Delhi and London. Today we honor and remember the victims of Soleimani’s many atrocities and we take comfort in knowing that his reign of terror is over.

Soleimani has been perpetrating acts of terror to destabilize the Middle East for the last 20 years. What the United States did yesterday should have been done long ago. A lot of lives would have been saved.

Just recently, Soleimani led the brutal repression of protesters in Iran, where more than 1,000 innocent civilians were tortured and killed by their own government.  We took action last night to stop a war; we did not take action to start a war.

I have deep respect for the Iranian people. They are a remarkable people with an incredible heritage and unlimited potential. We do not seek regime change; however, the Iranian regime’s aggression in the region, including the use of proxy fighters to destabilize its neighbors, must end and it must end now.

The future belongs to the people of Iran: Those who seek peaceful co-existence and cooperation, not the terrorists and warlords who plunder their nation to finance bloodshed abroad.

The United States has the best military, by far, anywhere in the world. We have the best intelligence in the world. If Americans anywhere are threatened, we have all of those targets already fully identified and I am ready and prepared to take whatever action is necessary. That in particular refers to Iran.

Under my leadership we have destroyed the ISIS territorial Caliphate, and recently American special operations forces killed the terrorist leader known as Al Baghdadi. The world is a safer place without these monsters.

America will always pursue the interests of good people, great people, great souls, while seeking peace, harmony and friendship with all the nations of the world.

Ding Dong, the Wicked Soleimani is Dead

The WINNING just never ends. – The stock market continued its recent boom, with every major U.S. market index yet again closing at record high levels. It seems like just a week ago that the Dow first closed above 28,000, but it was up over 300 points on Thursday and is now threatening to surpass the 29,000 level. Both the NASDAQ and S&P 500 also set new records.  WINNING. Soooooooo much winning.

Speaking of WINNING, wasn’t it just a couple of months ago when the U.S. military took out ISIS honcho Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi? Yep. But that turned out to be just the preliminary round of killing evil jackasses in the Middle East.

Late Thursday, the U.S. military turned Iranian terrorist – or, as the Washington Post called him, Iran’s “most revered military leader” – Qassem Soleimani and several of his Islamic terrorist buddies into a fine pink mist as they were driving into the Baghdad airport to attempt to leave Iraq. Soleimani and his friends had been in Iraq leading Wednesday’s effort to storm the U.S. Embassy there, an act for which President Donald Trump (I still never tire of typing those three glorious words) promised Iran would pay dearly.

Well, promises made, promises kept.

While the corrupt U.S. and global news media tries to portray this as an act of aggression on the part of the evil Orange Man in the White House, let’s all remember how this germinated. Over the past half-year, Iran has committed a series of attacks on U.S. installations in Iraq, Syria and elsewhere in the Middle East, as well as numerous attacks on the people and assets of U.S. allies in Israel and Saudi Arabia. Because none of those prior attacks had resulted in the loss of U.S. lives, President Trump has consistently responded with restraint, using sanctions and other non-military means of response.

But early this week, an Iranian attack on a U.S. facility in Iraq resulted in the killing of an American contractor, and President Trump responded with deadly force. The Iranian Islamic government used that retaliation as an excuse to storm the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, threatening the lives of hundreds of Americans.

Remember: Per international law, formal embassy compounds are the actual home soil of the country that owns them. The Iranian-led attack on the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad was an actual attack on the U.S. homeland. All the Obama-era punks like Ben Rhodes – who led the Obama policy that ended up rewarding the Iranian Mullahs with $150 billion to fund terrorist acts – who are out there screaming about “American aggression” on CNN and MSNBC right now want you to ignore this reality, but it is reality nevertheless.

Let us also remember that, in 1979, we had another feckless Democrat for a president – Jimmy Carter – when radical Iranian terrorists stormed our embassy in Iran, took hundreds of American citizens hostage and held them for 444 days.

As much as he wants to avoid getting our country involved in yet another conflict in the Middle East, President Trump simply cannot and will not allow that kind of scenario to happen on his watch. When the Iranians stormed the Baghdad Embassy on Tuesday, Rhodes and all the Obama fan girls and boys in the corrupt media gleefully jumped to calling the incident “Trump’s Benghazi”.

There would also be no Benghazi’s on Trump’s watch, and unlike his predecessor, who did nothing while four Americans were being brutally murdered in our Embassy in Benghazi, and then spent months lying about why it happened, Trump immediately called in the U.S. Marines and other military personnel to drive the terrorists away and protect U.S. soil.

This is what a real President does when America and Americans are attacked.

And so, one of the most heinous Islamic butchers of Americans and other innocents all over the world is now off to discover, along with several of his terrorist pals, that their great reward does not involve 77 virgins, or whatever the stupid number is supposed to be. That is something to cheer and support.

Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse summed it up best in a tweet: “This is very simple: General Soleimani is dead because he was an evil bastard who murdered Americans.”

The official statement from the Pentagon concludes by saying the following:

This strike was aimed at deterring future Iranian attack plans. The United States will continue to take all necessary action to protect our people and our interests wherever they are around the world.

Maybe this time, the Mullahs will believe President Trump’s intent to protect America and Americans.

Promises made, promises kept.

What You Need to Know About the Attacks on Saudi Arabia

Crude oil prices closed today up about 15%. They escalated throughout the day as it became increasingly obvious that the production outages in Saudi Arabia will likely continue for weeks, and as rhetoric between the U.S., Iran and Saudi continued to become more heated. How many weeks the Saudi outages will last is anyone’s guess.

You should expect prices to continue to rise until – and if – the situation calms down and we have hard information indicating Saudi production is being restored.

In case you missed my story at Forbes.com linked and excerpted below, this is the largest sudden outage of crude production in world history, even larger than the Arab Oil embargoes of the 1970s.

It’s a big deal.

Here are a dozen things everyone should know about the past weekend’s strikes on a major Saudi oil refinery, and the likely fallout from them:

  • The Houthis, a rebel army fighting against Saudi-led interests in Yemen, claimed credit for launching the attacks on Saturday. However, the U.S. government now says it believes the assault was launched from Iran, and that it may have involved cruise missiles rather than drones.
  • The strikes centered on Saudi Arabia’s Abqaiq refinery. Abqaiq is the world’s largest oil refinery, processing about two-thirds of the total Saudi supply each day. Saudi Arabia is the world’s second-largest producer of crude oil behind the United States.
  • Several large Saudi oil fields were also attacked. Those attacks, along with the disruption of the Abqaiq refinery required the Saudi government to shut-in about half of its current production, or about 5.7 million barrels of oil per day.
  • According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), that amounts to the single biggest sudden disruption on record, more than the loss of Kuwaiti and Iraqi supply during the Gulf War in August 1990, and the 1979 decrease in Iranian output following the Islamic Revolution.

Good Idea for Sunday: Fill up Your Gas Tanks

Everyone should go to the gas station and fill your tanks today. – There’s no need for panic, but you might save a little money by doing that.

The attack on Saudi Arabian refining and other oilfield infrastructure by Huthi rebels supported by Iran Saturday has forced the Saudi government to shut-in half of its daily crude production. That amounts to about 5.7 million barrels of oil per day (bopd) suddenly disappearing from the global, 100 million bopd market.

Unlike the series of previous Iranian attacks on crude tankers, drones and other facilities that have taken place since April, this one is a big deal. Because none of those previous acts disrupted a significant amount of oil production or movement, crude markets had no measurable reaction to them.

But 5.7 million bopd is a huge quantity of crude, a volume that far out-strips the ability of the few countries with idle capacity to offset. Although the Saudi government attempted to assure markets that it would be able to return to normal production levels by Monday, Reuters quotes a “source close to the matter” as saying that recovery from Saturday’s drone attack will take “weeks, not days.”

Regardless of which case is accurate, it is likely that oil prices will spike to some degree when Asian markets open for Monday trading late this afternoon simply based on the uncertainty of the situation. How high it will spike is anyone’s guess, but a supply disruption of this magnitude could lead to something very significant.

Gasoline prices in the U.S. fluctuate with the global price of crude, so any spike in the oil price is going to quickly feed down to higher prices at the pump. Don’t complain to me – that’s just how the market works.

The rhetoric flying following Saturday’s attacks is also significantly harsher than what we saw following Iran’s previous hostile actions. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo issued the following pair of tweets Saturday afternoon:

Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi told Iranian state television that the U.S. accusations were “pointless” and that his country stands ready to conduct “full-fledged war,” according to Reuters.  Reuters also quotes an Iranian military official as saying, “Everybody should know that all American bases and their aircraft carriers in a distance of up to 2,000 kilometers around Iran are within the range of our missiles.”

President Donald Trump has rejected counsel from some advisors to mount military retaliations after previous Iranian provocations. After these latest attacks, the President called Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Saturday evening to pledge U.S. “readiness to cooperate with the Kingdom, by all means conducive to maintain its security and stability.”

All of this back-and-forth between the involved countries, combined with the Reuters report serve to increase uncertainty. And if markets hate anything, it is uncertainty.

Again, there is no call for panic here, but the best thing for readers to do when they get up and dressed this morning is to drive over to the nearest gas station and top off the tank. If you wait to do it tomorrow, you might be sadly surprised at the price you’ll have to pay.

The Week in Review: Yet Another Lost Week for the Democrats

Oh, so they have to lie, then? – The week started with former Colorado Governor and current hopeless presidential candidate John Hickenlooper becoming so distraught about his party’s race to the farthest extent of the far, far, far, far left that he felt the need to tell an interviewer that “I feel strongly that Democrats have to draw a clear line and say, ‘We are not socialists.'” Not a good look, Dems.

Sunday also saw yet another smear strategy against President Donald Trump die an ugly death. Trump had thrown the entire Democrat/Media propaganda complex into a four-day fit of apoplexy on June 13 when he told the little Clinton toady George Stephanolpoulous that he “would probably listen” if someone from another country called and said he had damaging information about a political opponent. Sensing an opportunity to damage the President, the Democrats and their media stooges spent the next 96 hours trying to convince Americans that that statement was somehow proof that he had personally worked with Putin to fix the 2016 election.

What it all really did was remind everyone that a) Robert Mueller had mounted a 2-year Witch Hunt trying to find evidence that such a thing had happened and failed to come up with anything and b) that the Clinton Campaign had laundered $11 million through the DNC, a law firm and a PR firm to pay foreign agents, mostly from Russia, to try to dig up dirt on her opponent. Apparently the Democrats got some really bad polling information on this smear Sunday afternoon, because the that particular narrative completely disappeared from the nation’s airwaves after about 4:00 p.m. that day, which must have been when the memo went out to everyone. Because that is what they do.

Monday dawned with great news from Mexico, news that reminded everyone of another utterly failed Democrat/media narrative, which held that the President’s threat to impose tariffs on the failed state to the south would produce no results. We found out Monday that it was producing all sorts of great results in slowing the flow of illegals up from Central America, so the media immediately changed the subject. Because that, again, is what they do.

As the Democrat Clown Car of Mediocrities rolled out their presidential campaign messages to “crowds” of literally dozens of supporters – Eric Swalwell drew exactly 18 for a gun control rally on Monday –  Tuesday gave us clip after clip of thousands of Trump supporters spending as much as 40 hours in line and actually holding tailgate parties awaiting the President’s formal campaign kickoff announcement in Orlando, Florida.

Of course, none of the broadcast networks carried the event, something they had always done for previous incumbents announcing their re-election campaigns, and the petulant creeps at CNN cut away after the President led the crowd in a chant of “CNN sucks!” Because that, yet again, is what they do.

Tuesday also gave us a social media clip of a half-drunk de facto Speaker of the House Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez telling her brain dead fans that the border detention centers being used to temporarily house illegal aliens while their bogus asylum claims are being processed are exactly the same thing as Hitler slaughtering 6 million Jews in concentration camps. As if to amplify their Party’s ongoing lurch to disgusting antisemitism, not a single Democrat leader could summon the intellectual honesty to disavow AOC’s despicable remarks.

By Wednesday, Creepy Uncle Joe Biden, the nation’s Unfrozen Caveman Senator, was being blasted by his fellow presidential candidates for bragging about how he used to get stuff done in the senate by paling around with all those old segregationists of the 1970s. The media let that narrative go on for two solid days before they suddenly realized that all it was doing was reminding everyone that all those segregationists were in fact members of the Democrat Party. Ooopsie.

Also on Wednesday, we found out that the Broadway play about Slick Willie and the Fainting Felon, “Hillary and Clinton”, was shutting down its run early due to … wait for it … low ticket sales. Interestingly, this is the same reason why Slick and the Pantsuit Princess shut down their nationwide tour of evening events months ahead of time. There’s a message in all of this somewhere… wonder what is might be?

Thursday brought us film of Democrat hero Angela Merkel shaking uncontrollably, like Beto O’Rourke giving a campaign speech, as she stood for the German national anthem at a public event. If Merkel were a member of America’s Democrat Party, she’d be a part of its youth movement.

The Democrats’ whole “fossil fuels cause global warming” narrative took a big hit the same day when Canada’s child leader Justin Trudeau declared a “climate emergency” in one breath, and then approved a major oil pipeline in his next. I swear I don’t make this stuff up – who could?

The week got even worse for the anti-American party known as the Democrats when, after it was revealed that Iran had shot down an unmanned U.S. drone flying in international air space, each and every member of the Democrat Party knee-jerked to parroting the Iranian Mullahs’ talking points. Here is California Democrat Jackie Speier, for example:

By Friday, it became obvious that while everyone, Democrats and Republicans alike, was knee-jerking to their favorite talking points, President Trump was the lone adult in the room, speaking in measured tones about the situation and carefully considering all of his options instead of taking action that would end up with innocent people dying.

On that same day we found out that the hacks at USA Today were sitting on polling results showing the President with a 49% public approval rating, the highest he has ever attained in that particular poll. Because that, one more time, is what those people do.

Oh, yeah, it was also Friday when we discovered that Creepy Uncle Joe’s creepy son, Hunter Biden, had fathered a child with a 25 year-old Arkansas woman while he was engaged in an affair with his late brother’s widow, and had refused to take responsibility for the child. My goodness.

The Democrats in the House continued their party’s ongoing War on Women – and on little girls – when they unanimously passed a bill that would force school girls to compete with trans-genders born as males in sporting events. Think about that for a second: The vote was unanimous. Not a single Democrat representative sees anything unfair in this. Unreal.

To close out Friday, candidate Swalwell promised that, as his first act upon taking office, he would summarily fire President Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner. This is just one of many problematic promises the unintentionally-hilarious Swalwell keeps making, given that 1) Kushner is not actually on the government payroll, and 2) by the time a “President Swalwell” took office – an event that will thankfully never happen – Kushner would have already been long-gone away from Washington in any event.

The Democrat/media propaganda complex closed out its lost week by pounding the obviously false story shamefully published in New York Magazine, that, while married to Marla Maples, one of the most beautiful women on the face of the earth 25 years ago, Donald Trump was out raping homely, 52 year-old matrons.

The claim is being made by a pathetic wretch who is hawking a book, and is so blatantly false that even some mainstream media outlets have refused to join in the narrative, a fact that caused Democrat water-boy Chris Hayes to whine on Twitter:

You just really cannot make this stuff up, folks.

And thus, another completely lost week for the Democrats goes into the books.  Couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch of people.

Trump Will do the Right Thing for America in Response to Iran

Huh. Guess he must have been hanging out with Bill Clinton. – Joe Biden’s wayward son, Hunter Biden, was sued yesterday by a 28 year-old woman in Arkansas for refusing to accept responsibility for the son he allegedly fathered with her. This is not a case of ancient history coming back to haunt him, either, as the child is just 10 months old. Even more disgustingly, the fathering of the child came during a time when the horndog Hunter was involved in a relationship with the widow of his late brother, Beau Biden.

Holy cow.

The lawsuit comes at a rather inconvenient time for Hunter, who became fabulously wealthy while his Pop was selling his influence as Vice President – no doubt emulating the Hillary Clinton game plan – as Hunter just recently got married, but to yet another woman named Melissa Cohen.

A quick Google search indicates this scandalous news – which would justifiably be above-the-fold, massive headlines were it about the son of any Republican – was not reported by the New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC 0r CBS.  Imagine that.

Tired of all this WINNING yet? – The S&P 500 closed at yet another all-time high on Thursday. Donald Trump says, “you’re welcome.”

Speaking of President Donald Trump, be glad he’s in that office. – The Pantsuit Princess, who famously cackled and bragged about taking out Mohamar Gadaffi (and thus throwing Libya into a seemingly endless civil war), would have been getting our military personnel killed in yet another Middle East war with Iran long ago, and would still have us fiddling around doing nothing much effective with ISIS in Syria.

Lindsey Graham is no different. His years of following John McCain around like a little puppy dog come out every time anyone in the Middle East so much as shouts boo!, so yesterday’s downing of a U.S. drone by Iran’s radical Islamic government threw Bad Lindsey into a fit of McCain-like war-mongering. Here’s what he told reporters in an impromptu press gaggle yesterday:

“My ‘red line’ is if there’s any more disruption of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz that’s linked to Iran,” the South Carolina Republican said. “Take out their navy, bomb their refineries if there’s any more attacks on American interests.”

Oh. Well, hey, at least he didn’t go where McCain always went, and recommend putting 200,000 or more U.S. soldiers on the ground:

“Go after Iran so that they’ll…feel pain,” he continued. “I’m not talking about invading Iran, I’m not talking about a land invasion. If they go back into the enrichment business at a level that would lead to a nuclear weapon, we need to sit down with Israel and other allies and come up with a way to stop it.”

Glad he’s not talking about McCain’s longed-for ground invasion, but he is talking about putting our fighter and bomber pilots at great risk, given that Iran just proved its air defenses can shoot down a drone that typically operates at 60,000 feet. Are we really all ready to see Americans start coming back home from that god-forsaken part of the world in body bags again? Isn’t it enough that we still see this happen occasionally due to our continued presence in the sh*thole country that is Afghanistan after 18 long years?

Donald Trump was not elected to get us involved in more wars – he was elected to end the ones he inherited from the war-mongering 16 years that preceded his Inauguration. When he took office, President Trump inherited a situation in which the U.S. military was actively involved in no fewer than seven different civil wars across the Middle East and Africa. Although we still remain in Afghanistan with a diminished presence, he has otherwise greatly reduced U.S. involvement, destroying ISIS in Syria before dramatically reducing our presence in that unalterable sh*thole as well.

Despite the constant drumbeat by our fake news media that he is somehow himself a “war-monger”, the truth is that Trump’s conduct of foreign affairs has dramatically scaled back international tensions all over the world. There is no magic to this – this is what has always happened whenever a Republican president has projected U.S. policy from a position of strength.

Where the Coughing Crooks of the world delight in throwing entire nations into interminable chaos with ill-advised (and illegal) assassinations, and neo-cons like Graham invariably knee-jerk to screaming for bombing runs, the truth is that President Trump has an array of options for responding to Iran’s latest provocation that do not involve getting our own people killed. Thankfully, while every craven politician in both parties knee-jerks to inflammatory talking points, the President is calmly taking the time to consider all of his options before jumping to a response.

Trump may ultimately decide that taking out some Iranian refineries and gunships is the appropriate response here, but everyone screaming for that particular escalation of the conflict must understand that that will inevitably result in a spike in oil prices, which will in turn drive up gasoline prices at the pump. The price for crude has already jumped up 10% this week – are you really ready for another 20% or even more?

Or maybe the President might decide to cool the rhetoric – which he was already doing yesterday, if you were paying attention – and authorize the conduct of cyber-attacks on Iran’s digital infrastructure, which could be done completely behind the scenes and could be devastating to the Mullahs’ regime.

What President Trump is not going to do is be bullied by aggressive advisors or Lindsey Graham or Chuck Schumer or anyone else into sending our armed forces into harm’s way unless he is 100% certain that he doesn’t really have another choice. If he does choose that route, you should expect his response to be disproportionately large and extremely effective.

Whatever action he takes, you can be sure he will take it because it is best for America. Because that is what he was elected to do, and this President, unlike his recent predecessors, keeps his promises.

Dar Adol…er…John Brennan, ex-CIA chief and current sedition-bleater on MSNBC and Twitter, was on Capitol Hill on Tuesday. He was there at the invitation to “brief” the Democrats on the situation with Iran. This despite the fact that the seditious ex-spook was defrocked of his security clearance by President Donald Trump last summer.

No doubt sensing an opportunity for high entertainment, Fox News host Martha MacCallum invited the very plain-spoken Louisiana Senator John Kennedy on her show to comment both on Brennan’s visit to the Hill and the ongoing tensions with Iran. As usual, Sen. Kennedy did not disappoint. Here’s the clip – a transcript follows.:

Macallum: What was John Brennan doing on the Hill today?

Kennedy: In my judgment, Martha, um, Mr. Brennan needs to take off his tin hat and get a job. He’s lost his security clearance. The only thing he’s well-versed in is the stuff he makes up. It is clear to me, and has been for some time that Mr. Brennan is not a national security professional, that he’s a politician. And that’s why I think he let the American people down while he ran our CIA.

In terms of what’s actually going on, we had a classified briefing today – by we, I mean all of my senate colleagues and I – by the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff. We are not trying to provoke war with Iran. Our moves are entirely defensive. We’re trying to protect American soldiers and American interests and the interests of our friends in Iran.

MM: We spoke to Lindsey Graham last night, and he said that when the broader group listened to this, that they would be alarmed by what they learned. Were you alarmed by the provocative nature of what Iran has been up to?

JK: Well, I was alarmed in the sense that, without revealing classified information, it is clear based on our intelligence that the danger Iran represents to the United States had been heightened by Iran. I am comforted by the fact that I think our response was entirely appropriate. I’m not clairvoyant, but I believe that the danger has been lessened somewhat. We can’t let our guard down.

The truth of the matter is that Iran is a cancer. It’s a cancer on the Middle East, and it’s a cancer on the world. Not the people of Iran, but their leadership, the Ayatollah. He’s not mixed up, he’s not confused, it’s not a question that his momma or daddy didn’t love him enough.

He just hates America. And his religion tells him, his interpretation of his religion tells him to hate all those, including but not limited to America, who disagree with him. And we just have to deal with that.

Now, the Obama Administration thought that by making a nuclear deal with the Ayatollah, we could somehow change his behavior. As a result of that deal, the Ayatollah received between $50-$150 billion dollars – that’s 9 zeroes – he didn’t change his behavior, he used that money to export terrorism. Supporting Hezbollah, supporting Hamas. President Trump has responded appropriately.

He’s hit ‘em with sanctions, and those sanctions are hurting Iran and the people of Iran. And I hate to see it for the people, but I’m glad to see it for the leadership.

MM: Well, the question is where we go from here…

JK: Well, lemme tell ya where we go from here. We have Iran down, and now we need to choke ‘em. That’s the only thing the Ayatollah, the Supreme Leader, understands.

MM: And will we do that with continued sanctions or with military?

JK: No, with sanctions. I do not believe we will have a war with Iran. The Ayatollah may be evil, but he’s not stupid. We have sanctions on their oil exports, on their medical exports, on their metals exports, on their Revolutionary Guard. They’re hurting the leadership badly.

CNN and MSNBC will demonize him for violating traffic laws.:  Eric Trump caused panic among his Secret Service security detail on Monday when he rushed into New York City rush hour traffic to wave down a passing ambulance.  He took this action in an attempt to aid a woman who had passed out near a train station.  No word yet if Maxine Waters will now urge New York City’s drivers to run down anyone named Trump who rushes into a street to save a potentially dying woman, but it seems only a matter of time.

Hey, better late than never, right? – More than 7 months after he panicked global stock markets by rushing to air a completely false report claiming that Gen. Mike Flynn was rolling over on President Trump, ABC’s long-time fake reporter Brian Ross finally got his walking papers on Monday.  The New York Post reports that Ross was allowed to resign by his ABC fake news masters, but in a clue that it wasn’t exactly voluntary, his long-time producer, Rhonda Schwartz, is also moving on to pursue – as they say in the corporate world – other opportunities.

Hey, don’t be sad, guys – you’ll fit right in over at MSNBC or the New York Times.  Tons of “other opportunities” out there for news fakers these days.

After all, Ali Watkins, the NYTimes reporter who was sleeping with not one, but two staffers of the corrupt Senate Intelligence Committee in order to get scoops, still has her job.  Chris Matthews, the fake host at MSNBC who has been accused by multiple women of creating a “hostile work environment” on the set of his daily show, still has his job.  Joy Ann Reid, the fake MSNBC host who has been revealed to be a heinous gay basher, still has her job as well.

It may have taken ABC 7 long months to drum up some ethical standards, but there are plenty of fake news outlets out there that have no standards at all, so Ross and Schwartz won’t remain unemployed for long.

Speaking of the promiscuous Ali Watkins, we should also remember that the recent indictment of Senate Intel Staffer James Wolfe lists not one, but four fake news reporters to whom he was feeding classified information.  While the indictment does not cite these reporters by name, it does provide a good deal of detail about their activities.  Some independent investigators have concluded from these activities that the person identified as “reporter no. 4” in the indictment is very likely…wait for it…Brian Ross of ABC News.

So, there may be more – much more – to the Brian Ross story than the world currently understands.  We won’t know for sure unless and until Mr. Wolfe goes to trial.  Somebody pass me the popcorn.

If you want to witness a post-apocalyptic world, you don’t need Netflix – just take a vacation to San Francisco. – SFGate has a report this morning that someone deposited a 20-lb. bag of human waste on a street corner in the city’s “tenderloin district” on Monday.  Tellingly, a spokesperson for the city’s Public Works Department commented that, thanks to the new city ordinance that allows urinating and defecation in public, reports of human waste on the streets are common.  But the good news is that bags of this poundage are “not typical.”

Unfortunately, that particular qualifier implies that a bag filled with 20 lbs. of human waste on a city street corner is also not unprecedented.  Can it really be any accident at all that Dianne Feinstein, Nancy Pelosi and Kamala Harris all hail from this particular city?

And speaking of Kamala Harris, the California Senator issued a tweet on Monday with the following statement:  “As a career prosecutor, I actually went after gangs and transnational criminal organizations. That’s being a leader on public safety. What is not, is ripping babies from their mothers.”

Note to Sen. Harris:  The phrase “ripping babies from their mothers” is probably not the best imagery for someone who is a rabid supporter of the Planned Parenthood abortion mills to use, on Twitter or anywhere else.

Every time you get to thinking you can’t possibly think any worse of Barack Obama, he turns to Michelle and says “hold my beer.” – It turns out that the act of loading up several cargo planes with $1.7 billion in cash and shipping them over to Tehran was just not quite enough mendacity for Barack Obama to commit while he was giving away the world in his “negotiations” with the Mullahs.

Thanks to Fox News, we now learn that the blessedly former President also summarily granted U.S. citizenship to no fewer than 2,500 friends and relatives of Iranian public officials as he and John Kerry desperately tried to get a deal in place throughout 2015.  The source for this claim is one Hojjat al-Islam Mojtaba Zolnour, chairman of Iran’s parliamentary nuclear committee.  Given the scope and scale of the myriad un-American actions undertaken by Obama and his band of evil minions during the darkest 8 years in U.S. history, there is no reason at all to disbelieve Mr. Zolnour.

Naturally, both Mr. Obama and Mr. Kerry are not commenting on the matter.

Just another day in the scope of Obama mendacity just keeps growing America.

Tired of all this Winning yet? Part I  – President Donald got a yuuuuge win out of the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday as the Court’s conservative majority – you know, the five justices who have actually bothered to read the U.S. Constitution – upheld his travel ban impacting the citizens of seven terrorist-supporting nations.  The 5-4 nature of the decision simply reaffirms the fact that the court’s leftists faction is now nothing more than an adjunct of the radical leftwing’s “resistance,” now willing to ignore decades of clear and unambiguous jurisprudence in their quest to transform the nation.  My goodness.

In the wake of the decision, until recently the DNC’s Vice Chairman, Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison, issued this idiotically dishonest tweet:

For the record, 92% of the world’s Muslim population is completely unaffected by the travel ban.  But, as we all know, Democrats always – ALWAYS – have to lie.  It’s apparently in their genes.

 

Tired of all this Winning yet?  Part II – The Supreme Court also handed the “resistance” another kick to the gut in another 5-4 decision, this one overturning a California law that requires church-run pregnancy counseling centers to provide abortion information to their patients.  Again, the Court’s four leftists confirmed that they no longer value the freedoms of religion and speech contained in the Bill of Rights.

The preservation by a bare 5-4 majority of these key rights and presidential powers so clearly spelled out in our Constitution and Bill of Rights demonstrates conclusively how much gratitude we all owe to Mitch McConnell and the GOP majority in the U.S. Senate.  Regardless of how we feel about these mostly-RINO, establishment Republicans who disappoint us so frequently, their refusal to confirm Obama nominee Merrick Garland to replace the deceased Antonin Scalia in 2016 was a crucial moment in our nation’s history.  So thanks, all you squishy senators – you did something truly important.  Now you can all go back to disappointing us.

Joe Crowley.  Remember that name.  Who’s Joe Crowley, you ask?  Why, he’s currently the Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus in the U.S. congress, where he has served for many years as the U.S. Representative for New York’s 7th congressional district, which takes in much of Brooklyn, Bronx and Queens.  But he won’t be playing those roles much longer.

In fact, he will no longer be the congressman from the 7th district in New York after December 31, because, in a stunning demonstration of just how far to the radical left the Democrat Party is trending, this 20-year incumbent, very powerful congressman got his butt kicked by 18 percent of the vote by a 28 year-old socialist named Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.  How big of an “upset” is this?  Consider that Crowley was deemed by those who compile what we know as the “conventional wisdom” to be so safe that he had not even drawn a primary challenger in this previous 7 re-election bids.

Crowley had out-raised Ocasio-Cortez by a 10 to 1 margin in the race.  He was considered such a powerhouse within the Democrats’ demented caucus in the House that many thought he’d be the guy to replace Nancy Pelosi if she ever decides to give up her grasp on power as Speaker.  This was a guy who was going places.

Until last night.  This morning, he’s just planning on what he’s going to do after he goes home.  No one should be happy about this – as detestable as Crowley no doubt is, the juvenile Ocasio-Cortez, who based her campaign on the elimination of ICE and creation of fully-open borders, is exponentially worse.  But hey, that’s just where the entire Democrat Party is moving today.

Meanwhile, while our country’s fake news media is too busy working with their Democrat wards to dummy up another fake scandal to pay attention to anything else, there’s a revolution brewing over in Iran.  The streets of Tehran have been filled all week with growing crowds of demonstrators protesting the failing economic conditions that have been brought about by the brutal Islamic regime that has run the country for the past 40 years.

While we have seen similar uprisings in Iran come and go over the past four decades, with the Mullahs always holding onto power, this one seems different, as explained by NPR:

“Anti-government demonstrations driven by economic troubles erupted across the country last December and January. But they didn’t gain traction in Tehran. This week’s demonstrations in the capital were the biggest in years, multiple media outlets have reported.

The prevention of exactly this sort of economic uprising was the main reason why the Mullahs were so desperate to get the incredibly one-sided “deal” they received from Barack Obama and John Kerry.  That of course was Obama’s and Kerry’s motivation as well, because they’re both so dimwitted they actually bought into the idiotic notion that Iran could become a stabilizing influence in the Middle East.

Of course, the exact opposite goal is the reason why President Trump recently cancelled U.S. participation in the Iran deal:  He knows that the re-implementation of economic sanctions, which is already underway, is likely to hasten the day when an uprising like the one taking place right now ends up deposing the Mullahs for good.  Were it not for Obama and Kerry and their injection of hundreds of billions of dollars into the Iranian economy, that day might well have already come.

That’s the truth.  That’s the real Obama legacy for the Middle East.

If the Rosenstein Stonewall Continues Today, the President Must Fire Him

Tired of all this Winning yet? – Don’t look now, but Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk, after running up the cost of his infamous Model 3 from $36,000 to as much as $100,000, is threatening to actually do something good for a change:

As of early this morning, 88% of the vote in that poll was in the “yes” category.  Hilariously, the “yes” vote actually went up throughout the day, even as the fake news media was filing a raft of negative stories about Musk’s threat to create a site that would monitor media credibility.  Thus, Musk has already been proven correct in his assertion that the fake mainstream news media has no credibility at all outside of the tiny, shrinking echo chamber all the fake journalists and the Democrat politicians they support inhabit.

Go for it, Elon – it would be a great public service, and you wouldn’t have to worry about cost overruns for once.

But, but, but…Obama told us that wasn’t going to …oh, hell, nevermind. – Speaking of a fake news outlet whose reporters desperately need to be monitored by Elon Musk, the New York Times is reporting this morning that it turns out that the Mullahs over in Iran have been developing inter-continental ballistic missiles throughout the entire time they were negotiating the most one-sided “deal” in world history with Barack Obama and John Kerry, and have continued their development program during all the time since the deal supposedly ensured that would not happen.

So, it turns out that what Obama really told the Mullahs is that “if you like your ICBM program, you can keep your ICBM program.” [rimshot!]  I got a million of ’em, folks, I’ll be here all week.

Documents?  What documents?  Wait, you asked for documents?  Sorry, we don’t got no stinking documents… –  Well, it’s another episode of Rod Rosenstein Sandbags Congress over at the Justice Department today.  The oily Deputy Attorney General will hold not one, but two meetings with congressional leaders today to discuss long-outstanding congressional demands for documents related to the whole Russia Collusion fantasy play.

The first meeting will be with only Republicans Devin Nunes and Trey Gowdy because, well, Nunes and Gowdy don’t want this stuff being leaked to CNN, the NYTimes and the Washington Post in real time.  That meeting will be held at noon, ET.

The second meeting takes place at 2:00 ET, and will include the entire congressional “Gang of 8”, which includes four Republican leaders and chairmen and four senior Democrats.  This will include California Democrat Adam Schiff, so you can expect the confidential discussions that take place in this meeting – or at least the Democrat spin on them – to be all over CNN by about 3:00 ET.

Democrats had spent much of the day on Wednesday demanding they be included in the first meeting, but Nunes refused to allow that because he knew if he let Schiff and the other Democrats in that meeting, it would all be leaked and the dishonest media would attempt to blame it all on Nunes.  Because that’s what the Democrats and their media enablers do.

Both meetings were set up by White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, after the principles had met at the White House on Monday with President Trump.  Kelly will reportedly attend both meetings, as will FBI Director Christopher Wray and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats.

Two key documents in play here are the two memos that Rosenstein wrote last year first authorizing the appointment of Robert Mueller to be Special Counsel, and then expanding the scope of Mueller’s investigative authority.  Nunes, Gowdy and other congressional GOP committee chairmen have long sought these documents so that they can understand exactly what in the hell it was that Rosenstein authorized Mueller to do.  It’s important to note that similar authorization memos for previous special counsels were readily made public by DOJ within days of their being issued.

But Rosenstein is desperate to prevent any Republican member of congress from seeing these memos in an un-redacted state.  At this point, we don’t know why that is, but his desperation is palpable and certainly seems suspicious under the circumstances.  FBI Director Wray has also been a willing facilitator of the stonewalling on these and other documents, so no one should expect him to be an advocate for transparency.

We can hope the presence of Coats and Kelly – neither of whom have participated in previous meetings on this subject – might lead to some sort of breakthrough in today’s meetings.  Barring such an outcome, it is getting to the point at which the President is literally obligated to fire Rosenstein for his obvious obstruction efforts.

Yes, that would create a firestorm in the fake news media, but as I’ve said many times before, so what?  That happens every day to this President.

The American people deserve to know why Mueller was appointed and exactly what he was authorized to do, and most importantly, under which U.S. laws that authorization was made.  Rod Rosenstein has a big high-powered title, but at the end of the day he is just another bureaucrat.  Bureaucrats do not get to deny the public’s right to know unless elected officials empower them to do so.  We can’t count on elected representatives like Paul Ryan or Mitch McConnell to do anything about this, so the decision will ultimately fall to Donald Trump to make.

If the Rosenstein stonewall turns today’s meetings into just more Kabuki Theatre, it’s time for the President to make that call.

The Deep State Assault on Devin Nunes Reeks of Desperation

Tired of all this Winning yet? – At 8:00 a.m CT today, the U.S. embassy in Israel will formally transfer its operations from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.  The promise to make this move has been made by every U.S. president since George H. W. Bush.  It took President Donald Trump (I never tire of typing those words) to actually keep the promise on behalf of 315 million Americans.

Oh, by all means, share away. – A senior official in the Iranian government issued a threat to the United States and other countries over the weekend that all 315 million Americans should welcome.  Well, all, that is, except those members of the Obama Administration and their hangers- on who allegedly accepted bribes to make the horrible deal with Iran happen. Because they, if they exist, are the target of the threat.

H.J.Ansari Zarif, the deputy for parliamentary and Iranian affairs within Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said he would do the dirty work:  “If Europeans stop trading with Iran and don’t put pressure on US then we will reveal which western politicians and how much money they had received during nuclear negotiations to make #IranDeal happen,” Mr. Zarif reportedly said.

Gosh, maybe that explains why John Kerry has continued his serial violations of the Logan Act even after President Trump announced he was ending U.S. participation in the terrible deal that he negotiated.  On Saturday, Kerry was spotted meeting with three Iranian officials in a Paris cafe’, with one patron claiming he overheard the former Secretary of State railing against President Trump during the conversation, before being photographed lurching away from the meeting by another diner.

Seriously, I have no idea if any actual “bribery” took place during the sham negotiations over the deal, but it would help to explain why some members of the Obama Administration were so anxious to commit the U.S. to an agreement in which our country gained literally nothing.  So if there really is evidence of any such bribery, by all means, share away, Mr. Zarif.  Don’t leave us hanging here.

The deep state is really, really worried about Devin Nunes, and we should all be just fine with that. – Speaking to some audience of poor saps in Washington over the weekend, ex-FBI Director and current teenage drama queen James Comey said that, in his pursuit of actual information from deep state thugs at the Justice Department and the FBI, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes is “acting dangerously.”

“You cannot overstate the danger in that kind of behavior to the security of the United States,” Comey said.

Comey’s absurd statements align directly – shocking, I know – with recent talking points targeting Nunes in the fake news media, and with recent statements by Deputy U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein, who called Nunes’ legitimate efforts to obtain information from DOJ under his committee’s oversight responsibilities “extortion.”  Holy cow.

But it only got more extreme from Comey:

Comey, who was fired by President Trump last year, said he’s never seen this level of pressure for the intelligence community to abdicate information about a protected source. He warned this effort “risks the death of the thing that is at the core of our ability to protect this country.”

Let’s review here what Chairman Nunes is currently after from our deep state DOJ.  He is looking for the name of the supposed “intelligence asset” who Obama CIA Director John Brennan used as the basis for the communication he sent over to the FBI in July 2016 formally authorizing the commencement of a counterintelligence operation against the Trump Campaign.  He is attempting to determine if this “asset” had been inserted into the Trump Campaign by the Obama intelligence community, or if he was interacting with members of the Trump Campaign in a classic spy effort to “dirty them up” to give the appearance of wrongdoing.

The truth is that Nunes and many other people already know the identity of the person in question, as his name has been uncovered by enterprising independent investigators and has been bandied about all over the internet over the past four days, along with documentation that, in late September 2016, he was paid a very large amount of money by the intelligence community with taxpayer dollars for his efforts.  And the truth is that the FBI had already been conducting a counterintelligence operation against the Trump Campaign well before it received the communication from Mr. Brennan authorizing same.  We’ve known that for some time now.

This is what James Comey and John Brennan and all the other Obama deep staters are so desperate to cover up:  The Obama Administration was actively spying on and attempting to entrap members of the presidential campaign of the opposition party.  This is the most shocking breach of the public trust ever committed by any presidential administration, and Devin Nunes is intent upon exposing it to the public.

So it’s no wonder that the public statements by Mr. Comey and the shrill tweets coming out of Mr. Brennan literally reek of desperation.  These are really bad, really guilty people who engaged in the worst sort of betrayal under the belief it would all be covered up when Hillary Clinton won the election.

Just one problem:  Hillary didn’t win.  Oops.

Just another day in the deep state is reeking of desperation America.

George W. Bush Comes Out Of Hiding And Shows Where His Real Loyalties Lie

  • God bless General John Kelly for doing what he did yesterday.  It was heart-wrenching watching him get up there and talk about the death of his own son, and an utter disgrace that he had to do it.  It was an act of supreme loyalty for him to go into that room filled with fake journalist snakes and defend his President.  General Kelly has spent his entire adult life in the valiant service of his country, and yesterday’s service should never be forgotten by anyone who loves America.
  • A Bush Finds His Voice – For eight long years, from January 20, 2009 through January 20, 2017, supporters of former President George W. Bush were saddened and frustrated as Mr. Bush sat idly by while his successor in office and his own supporters trashed Bush’s policies, his reputation and his personality on pretty much a daily basis.  For those eight long years, Mr. Bush appeared happy and very much unperturbed as his successor worked overtime to tear down this country’s institutions brick by brick, to foment racial divisions wherever possible, acted in an utterly lawless manner whenever it suited his desires and needs, and, as we are finding out this week, allowed his Secretary of State and Attorney General to literally sell the country’s national security interests to Russia.
  • Mr. Bush seemed to be footloose and fancy free as his successor sat fecklessly by and allowed ISIS  to grow and take over vast swaths of Iraq and Syria, as terrorist attacks in the U.S. and throughout Western Europe multiplied in almost a geometric progression, as North Korea marched steadily towards possessing an intercontinental nuclear capability.
  • During all that time and through all that corruption and destruction of American society, Mr. Bush sat at his Crawford, Texas ranch like a deaf mute, rarely seen in public other than at events at his presidential library on the SMU campus, or other events at which he was paling around with his “Brother from another Mother”, Bill Clinton.  Nothing, no insult, no being blamed by his successor for his own failures, no corruption of government or society by said successor could break Mr. Bush out of his self-imposed silence.
  • It is only this week that Mr. Bush has suddenly found his voice.  As a duly-elected President of his own political party is going about systematically deconstructing the legacy of Mr. Bush’s successor, trying to resolve the crises with Iran and North Korea that both Mr. Bush and his successor punted down the road, dealing with major natural disasters in three states and Puerto Rico, and under a daily withering assault by our fake national news media, Mr. Bush chose this moment to come out of hiding and make a speech criticizing another president.  Unfortunately, and to his undying disgrace, Mr. Bush chose to criticize not his successor and all the damage he perpetrated on our country, but the current President, Donald Trump.
  • In making that speech yesterday, conveniently timed to distract attention from the exploding Russian Uranium/bribery scandal that took place in the first two years of the Obama Administration, the former President removed all doubt about where his real loyalties lie.  Mr. Bush is a Bush after all, and his loyalties are with the establishment, the ruling elite, the globalists who insist we place international interests above the interests of American citizens, and the DC Swamp creatures who continue to work to ensure such outcomes.  He’s just another Bush, like his Dad, like Jeb! and all the other Bushes who are creatures of the ruling elite.  His outlook and philosophy differ from those of the Clintons and the Obamas only by small degrees.
  • By labeling President Trump’s voters as bigots and nativists, Mr. Bush showed an elite’s disdain for the very same voters who got him elected in 2000 and 2004.  By laying off the blame for our current social strife entirely on President Trump, Mr. Bush demonstrated support for the very leftists who are truly responsible for it all. By refusing to condemn the Democrat-invented “resistance”, Mr. Bush showed his preference for the true fascists among us.
  • I’ll never regret supporting George W. Bush in 2000 and 2004, because he was definitely the lesser of two evils in those elections.  But Thursday’s disgracefully timed and delivered speech removed any remaining doubt that he was in fact an evil, and that made it a sad day indeed.

Just another day in betrayed Bush voters America.

Trump Delivers A Speech Ordinary Americans Have Waited 30 Years To Hear

  • In response to President Donald Trump’s (I never get tired of typing that) soaring speech at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, Venezuelan Envoy Jorge Arreaza said “For a moment, we didn’t know if we were listening to President Reagan in 1982 or President Trump in 2017.”  Well, yes, that is exactly why Mr. Trump is President of the United States today.
  • Mr. Arreaza, of course, thought his statement was an insult to the current U.S. President, as did every fake reporter in the fake news media, many of whom were no doubt getting major cases of the vapors as they listened to the President’s speech.  CNN’s Jim Acosta publicly wet his diapers over the decision by President Trump to refer to North Korea’s dictator as “Rocket Man.”  ABC’s Terry Moran said the President’s statement that the U.S. may find it necessary to “destroy” North Korea borders on a war crime, apparently unaware that his hero Barack Obama had made the very same threat towards the Norks while he was occupying the White House.
  • Can it be a coincidence that America’s community of fake journalists, its population of liberal/progressive/socialist/communist voters and politicians, the snakes and skunks who infest the Deep State in Washington, and leaders of despotic regimes around the globe all had exactly the same reaction to a speech in which the President of the United States emphasized he plans to put the interests of the American people above the interests of the globalist community?  Well, no, it’s no coincidence at all, is it?
  • Meanwhile, the normal people of America – the people who inhabit the 95% of the country outside of New York City, Washington, DC, Los Angeles and San Francisco – have been waiting 30 years to hear an American President deliver exactly this speech, a speech before the international globalist community that firmly places their safety, their security, their families, and their prosperity as the President’s number one priority in his job.  These Americans have spent the last three decades literally longing to hear such a speech from George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush or Barack Hussein Obama, and have come away uniformly disappointed at every turn.  Normal Americans were especially hopeful for a President who puts their interests first after the unending, eight year-long apology tour by Barack Hussein.
  • So Mr. Arreaza was right, if unwittingly so, to say that at times it was hard to know if we were hearing a speech from Donald Trump or Ronald Reagan, because the last time Americans heard such a speech escape the lips from their national leader, it came from Mr. Reagan.
  • The last time Americans heard such a speech from one of their Presidents, it was June 12, 1987.  Ronald Reagan, speaking to an audience of international leaders from a podium placed in front of the Berlin Wall, said “General Secretary Gorbachev, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, if you seek liberalization: Come here to this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!”
  • Two years later, that wall came down, and the Soviet Union collapsed.  These were lines that Mr. Reagan’s squeamish advisors had repeatedly removed from his speech for fear of offending the “international community”, only to have the President himself re-insert the passage to their great frustration.  That’s courage, that’s vision, that is presidential leadership.
  • No doubt we will find out in coming days that several lines spoken by President Trump in Tuesday’s speech were placed there against the will of his own squeamish advisors, some of whom are globalists who live in fear of offending the Maduros and Merkels of the world.  It’s a safe bet that much of the President’s strong rhetoric aimed at the despotic dictators of North Korea, Iran and Venezuela were spoken over and above the disapproval of H.R. McMaster and John Kelly.  It is similarly safe to bet that much of the President’s stern language scolding of the U.N. itself over its wastefulness and ineffectiveness were delivered over the objections of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.  That’s courage, that’s vision, that is presidential leadership.
  • So Mr. Arreaza had it right:  For 40 minutes on Tuesday, we had an American President delivering a speech to the international community that could easily have been delivered by the Great Ronald Wilson Reagan.  The time and place were different, the accent and cadence of the two speakers are different, but the courage, leadership and rhetoric on display were completely indistinguishable.
  • In the end, this key early passage set the tone for President Trump’s entire speech:  “In America, the people govern, the people rule, and the people are sovereign. I was elected not to take power, but to give power to the American people where it belongs.”
  • Those are two sentences Ronald Reagan would have been happy to deliver as well, and those two sentences explain why this is a speech normal Americans loved, and the globalists detest.  God Bless Donald Trump for having the courage necessary to be mistaken for Ronald Reagan.  It’s been 30 long years since anyone had that to say about an American president.
