Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)
Ricky Gervais has had a nice, long career and obviously doesn’t care if he never works in Hollywood again. That became evident Sunday evening when, while serving as host of the Golden Globe Awards ceremony, he gave the pedophiles and financial exploiters in the nation’s most depraved and despicable community a tongue-lashing of a completely different sort than most of them have become accustomed to, if you know what I mean.
Early in Gervais’s monologue, he said this:
Ricky Gervais knocks Hollywood Celebrities for being friends with Epstein at the Golden Globes:
“He obviously didn’t kill himself just like Jeffrey Epstein. Shut up. I know he’s your friend, but I don’t care.” pic.twitter.com/vUDATFoA71

Transcript: “No, no, we got ta drag it out for 3 hours. You could binge watch the entire first season of Afterlife instead of watching this show. That’s a show about a man that wants to kill himself because his wife dies of cancer, and it’s still more fun than this. Ok? [audience laughs] Spoiler alert: Season 2 is on the way, so in the end, he obviously didn’t kill himself, just like Jeffrey Epstein. [more laughs] Shut up! I know he’s your friend, but I don’t care. [audience groans and uncomfortable looks around the tables] But seriously, most films are awful. Lazy. Remakes. Sequels.”
Yes, he obviously just doesn’t care. He doesn’t care about these people, their lifestyles, their ill-earned fame, or if he ever gets to host this program again (this was his 6th time in the role of host of the Golden Globes). That became very evident late in his monologue in another 48-second clip during which he takes vicious shots at Apple, Disney and many other Hollywood institutions. He even goes after Global Church of Climate Change poster child Greta Thunberg in the process. Amazing.
Here’s the clip:
Ricky Gervais to celebrities at the Golden Globes: "You're in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world."
Ends by telling award winners to "f**k off."

Transcript: “That’s a superb drama about the importance of dignity and doing the right thing, made by a company (Apple, whose CEO Tim Cook is at the ceremony) that runs sweat shops in China. [more groans mixed with nervous laughter] So – well, you say you’re woke, but the companies you work for, I mean, Apple, Amazon, Disney – if ISIS started a streaming service, you’d call your agent. [more groans, very few laughs] Wouldn’t you?
“So, if you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech, right? You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world, and most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg. [more groans and nervous laughter] So, if you win an award, thank your agent and your God and f*ck off. [tepid applause]”
Man, that is epic right there. In a mere 89 total seconds, Gervais stood right there in front of an assembly of Hollywood’s most notorious grifters, abusers and pedophiles and said to them what about 200 million Americans would sacrifice an arm to be able to say to them. There was more truth and real human drama contained in those 89 seconds than in all the films produced by Hollywood combined in 2019.
Good for him. The entertainment community could use a lot more truth-tellers, and a lot fewer pedophiles.
That is all.
P.S.: For those who missed it and care, here is the full monologue:
OMG??? If you watch one thing today watch this. It’s about time someone in Hollywood says is it. RT!!!pic.twitter.com/DhGeMvyWNZ

That really is all.
