Newsom’s Approval Ratings Crash: Are Californians Finally Waking Up?

Better late than never. – It’s taken almost a full year, but Californians appear to finally be waking up to the reality of the ghoul they put into the governor’s office. No governor in America has abused his or her citizens under the umbrella of COVID response quite to the extent that Gavin Newsom has done to the people of California. This is a guy who has not just ordered his people to stay home cowering in their living rooms for months on end, shut down businesses and thrown people out of work, he has repeatedly made a public spectacle of oafishly violating his own orders and even tailored some provisions to ensure his own high-dollar Napa Valley vineyard suffered minimal impacts.

Yet through all of that, all of those orders that have zero “science” or “data” to really support their need, California has managed to establish perhaps the worst record of any state in actually dealing with the virus’s spread. Finally, a new poll released on Wednesday appears to indicate that most Californians are catching onto the ruse. The new poll, from the University of California at Berkeley’s Institute of Governmental Studies, shows that Newsom’s public approval rating has plummeted by 18 points in just the last 3 months.

From a story at the Washington Examiner:

A new poll conducted by the University of California at Berkeley’s Institute of Governmental Studies found that Gov. Gavin Newsom’s job approval rating plummeted by 18 percentage points in three months. In October, he had a 49% approval rating; in January it dropped to 31%.

Also, 36% of respondents said they support the recall effort against Newsom, which has gained popularity among Democrats.

Roughly 31% of those polled said Newsom has done an excellent or good job in handling the coronavirus, down from 49% in September. Only 22% of respondents gave a favorable response to the state’s vaccine rollout.

The poll was conducted online and included more than 10,000 registered voters. Conducted during the last week of January in both English and Spanish, it’s margin of error is +/- 2 percentage points.

The Los Angeles Times reported that “… even his political allies begin to question the actions he has taken,” which “… provides a sobering sign for the 53-year-old Democrat that his once bright political future, for years the subject of whispers about a potential White House run, has lost some of its shine.”

[End]

That’s not encouraging at all for a governor who must run for re-election next year, regardless of how the current effort to force a recall election against him this year turns out.

That recall petition effort on Newsom continues to proceed with great success, at last report having collected more than 1.3 million of the 1.495 million signatures necessary to force a special recall election later this year. Candidates are already lining up to challenge Newsom on the assumption that the petition effort will be successful, among them right-wing activist Mike Cernvich – who admits he would have “no chance in hell” of defeating Newsom in a runoff election – and billionaire venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya, who might stand a better chance.

No doubt many challengers will get in line to try to form up a strong effort to rid the state of the Newsom plague, but no one should be overly optimistic about the Governor ultimately being forced from office. After all, he does have a D by his name on the ballot, and, while many Californians are angry about his serial abuse of their human and constitutional rights throughout this pandemic, we have to remember that most of them will just automatically go back into standard Democrat brainwash mode when it comes down to actually voting for anyone who does not have a D by their name.

These people have collectively behaved like a herd of sheep for more than 30 years now, and never been able to figure out the connection between how they vote and the fact that their state continues to devolve into a 3rd world banana republic before their very eyes. They appear to possess no ability at all to draw a simple ’cause and effect’ conclusion that is so obvious to pretty much everyone else.

Bottom line: Despite this latest encouraging poll, it would be a mistake to assume that translates into an actual positive result on election day.

That is all.

Saturday News Roundup: Pelosi, Biden and Newsom Show How Grift and Fraud Makes the Democrat World go Round

Man, nobody could’ve seen this one coming. – The big news out of California this week is that the utterly incompetent jackasses in the Newsom administration paid out no less than $31 billion in fraudulent unemployment payments since last April. I say “no less than” because some reports peg the number at a cool $50 billion. And that’s just in one state.

Here’s an excerpt from a story at the Washington Examiner:

An arm of the California government admitted that up to $31 billion in unemployment funds may have been sent to fraudsters.

“Of the $114 billion in unemployment paid by California since March, approximately 10% has been confirmed as fraudulent. An additional 17% of the paid claims have been identified as potentially fraudulent,” Secretary for the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency Julie Su said in a California Employment Development Department conference call.

Earlier this month, the state estimated that $10 billion in unemployment benefits was fraudulently sent, with some of the funds going to organized crime organizations in China and Russia. Initial estimations reported that around $4 billion was sent out fraudulently.

“There is no sugar-coating the reality: California did not have sufficient security measures in place to prevent this level of fraud,” Su said.

[End]

Oh. You don’t say. Yeah, I guess when you’re sending unemployment checks to crime organizations in China and Russia, your security measures could be said to be lacking.

Holy crap.

Hunter’s far from the only despicable grifter in the Biden family. – China Joe Potato Head Biden’s brother Frank is also deep into the slimy influence game the family has thrived on for the last half-century. Yesterday it was revealed that he has recently been the star of his law firm’s solicitations for powerful new clients in need of access to the White House, because of course that’s what anyone named Biden would have been doing:

That little revelation led to a story at Politico titled …

‘For Christ’s sake, watch yourself’: Biden warns family over business dealings

Here’s an excerpt from that delightful expose’:

In the midst of his campaign for president, Joe Biden took his younger brother, Frank, aside to issue a warning.

“For Christ’s sake, watch yourself,” Biden said of his brother’s potential business dealings, according to a person with knowledge of the conversation. “Don’t get sucked into something that would, first of all, hurt you.”

Biden, whose tone was both “jocular and serious,” according to the person, seemed to know then what is becoming plainly obvious now: His family’s business ties threatened to undermine an administration whose messaging is centered on restoring integrity in the White House.

Relatives’ money-making ventures, most prominently his son Hunter’s overseas dealings, have long dogged Biden. But it’s taking on a new dimension now that he’s in the White House.

Only a week into his presidency, Biden already has had to answer for matters related to his family. A law firm ad promoting Frank Biden’s relationship with the president caused a stir when it ran on Inauguration Day. A federal investigation into Biden’s son, Hunter, has invited scrutiny of just how strict a firewall he’ll keep between the White House and the Justice Department. And another of the president’s brothers, James, has previously come under fire for his business dealings.

[End]

Of course, the rest of that Politico story is your standard corrupt news media puff piece, a classic inoculation story designed to insulate China Joe from any further media scrutiny by giving other media outlets the ability claim it’s all “old news” and “already reported” now. Because that’s what our corrupt, Nazi-style news media does for corrupt Democrat politicians.

Speaking of corrupt Democrat politicians… – How about that Nancy Pelosi, huh? Man, if anyone in Washington knows best about how to get stinking, filthy rich off of a position of high power in Washington, DC, it’s San Fran Nan and her husband, San Fran Paul. These people have turned the practice of insider trading into an art form over the past 30 years, and aren’t about to stop now that China Joe’s occupying the White House.

See, insider trading is highly illegal for you and all the other little people in America, and every once in a while the DOJ even nabs one of the big people in America for doing it, as they did with Martha Stewart several years back, just to set an example. But the DOJ will never ever prosecute a member of congress for blatantly violating this set of laws for the simple fact that congress controls the DOJ’s budget. Oh, they might perform a perfunctory investigation of some congressional Republican, like they did with North Carolina Senator Richard Burr for about 5 minutes last year, but the chance of any member of congress, especially powerful members like San Fran Nan, ever actually being brought up on charges are roughly the same as John Durham ever handing down an actual indictment of one of the ObamaGate thugs. It’s just not gonna happen.

So it is that we get this story yesterday from JustTheNews.com:

Here’s an excerpt from that story:

Ethics watchdogs say the timing of large purchases of Tesla stock by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul raises ethics concerns due to an appearance of insider trading.

Paul Pelosi reportedly purchased up to $1 million in stock from electric car giant Tesla last month. President Joe Biden, meanwhile, announced this week that his administration intends to take the entire federal fleet of automobiles electric.

The move by Pelosi was “corrupt and unacceptable,” TakeBack.org Executive Director John Pudner claimed in an interview with the Washington Times this week.

“Even if the actual charges are not provable beyond a reasonable doubt or trigger SEC action, the timing of trades with potential insider information always looks bad,” a former federal prosecutor told the publication.

A spokesman for the speaker said that “her husband, not the speaker, made the Tesla bets and the speaker’s political relationships were irrelevant,” the Times reported.

[End]

No big deal. The Speaker knew Biden’s order was coming, told San Fran Paul about it and San Fran Paul went out and made the trades so that San Fran Nan would have “plausible deniability,” that great get out of jail free card in Washington, DC.

And you’re supposed to just take Pelosi’s word for it like every fawning Democrat toady in the Nazi-style news media is going to do. After all, if it weren’t for the preservation of influence grifts like the Biden family’s or insider trading grifts like the Pelosi family has used for decades, why, no one in Washington would ever be able to become fabulously wealthy while pretending to engage in public service. And that wouldn’t be fair, would it?

I kid you not: That really is how these people think. It is in fact how they live every day of their despicable lives.

That is all.

Wednesday News Roundup: Biden Science is the Bestest Science but Gavin Newsom is Close Behind

Rand Paul assassinated the latest Democrat impeachment scam yesterday. – As I reported last night, the Senator from Kentucky pulled a deft parliamentary maneuver in which the Senate was required to vote on a motion to dismiss the case. Though that vote ended in rejection by a 55-45 margin, with 5 RINOs joining the 50 communist Democrats, that is far short of the 67 votes that would be needed to convict Donald Trump of this faked-up impeachment article.

The names of those five RINOs are as predictable as the sun rising in the East, and you can read about them and their latest act of mendacity at this link.

God Bless Texas. – As I also reported late yesterday, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton won an initial victory in his challenge to China Joe Potato Head Biden’s executive order that would halt all deportations, even of violent criminal aliens. At Texas federal judge issued a 14-day nationwide restraining order in the case, following the precedents set by all the leftist judges during the Trump administration.

The practical effect of the order is to give the judge time to fully review the case and issue a final decision, but the symbolic effect is to send a shot across Biden’s rickety bow that some Republicans aren’t planning to just take all of the crap he slings around lying down.

Cool.

Today’s “Because Science” Look-in on the COVID-19 Pandemic. – It’s like magic!:

Note that January 7 was the day following congress’s approval of the Electoral College vote. Some coincidence there, huh?

Science.

Biden science is the bestest science. – Here, the new Swamp Sock Puppet President weighs in on the “science” behind wearing masks. It’s a real tour de force.:

Biden: “One congressman pointed out — he used a very color term to say — wearing a mask, I tell them to ‘kiss my ear.’ I’m not wearing a mask. Well, guess, what, not very American.”

Yes, friends, he really said that, and not a single reporter present asked for a clarification because they all know it would only get worse.

You just could never, ever make this stuff up, folks. Don’t even try.

Gavin Newsom science is the next-bestest science. – Presumably desperate because his high-dollar Napa Valley winery is bleeding money, California Governor Gavin Newsom this week joined the parade of Democrat governors who are suddenly thinking reopening their economies might be a good idea now that their party’s sock puppet is safely in the White House.

From the story at the New York Post:

California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday lifted the regional stay-at-home orders across the state — allowing restaurants to resume outdoor dining amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“We’re seeing a flattening of the curve. Everything that should be up is up, everything that should be down is down,” Newsom said at the press conference.

He said the hard-hit Golden State is “not out of the woods,” but its models suggest that it has overcome the most “challenging” part of the latest wave.

“We are in a position — projecting four weeks forward with a significant decline in the case rates, positivity rates — we are anticipating still more decline in hospitalizations and more declines in ICUs, and that’s why we’re lifting that stay-at-home order effective immediately today,” he said.

The state will return to a colored tier system that dictates restrictions by county based on the risk of community transmission.

The strict lockdown had been in place in the San Francisco Bay Area, San Joaquin Valley and Southern California — the majority of counties in the Golden State.

[End]

So, what has changed related to the pandemic in California? Not much, really, other than Biden’s inauguration. Despite all of the draconian lockdowns and mask mandates and business closures and job losses mandated by this despicable fascist thug, California’s performance related to COVID has been among the very most abysmal in the country, surpassed only by the grotesque results in New York and maybe New Jersey.

There was never any shred of “science” or “data” supporting Newsom’s thuggish approach – every decision he made was based on pure partisan politics. Millions of Californians have lost their jobs and hundreds of thousands have lost their businesses, but this ghoul has no regrets because his political tactic paid off, and that’s truly all that matters to any Democrat politician.

Trump just keeps on winning. – In one of the most epically hilarious moves of his entire adult life, Donald Trump yesterday announced that he has emulated Joe Biden’s creation of the fantasy “office of the President-elect” by creating his own “Office of the Former President,” complete with all the signage and seals that go along with an official executive office.

From the story at The Epoch Times:

Former President Donald Trump opened an “Office of the Former President” on Jan. 25 that seeks to advance the interests of the United States and carry on the agenda of his administration.

A statement from the office in Palm Beach County, Florida, reads: “Today, the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, formally opened the Office of the Former President.

“The Office will be responsible for managing President Trump’s correspondence, public statements, appearances, and official activities to advance the interests of the United States and to carry on the agenda of the Trump Administration through advocacy, organizing, and public activism.

“President Trump will always and forever be a champion for the American People.”

The announcement of the “Office of the Former President’ came shortly before the House of Representatives delivered a single impeachment charge to the Senate late Jan. 25. The “incitement of insurrection” charge claims that Trump was responsible for inciting an insurrection that resulted in riots at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

[End]

God, I miss this man, and not only because of his epic trolling talent.

FACT CHECK: Senator Cotton is right. But our designated sock puppet doesn’t care.

Sad.

Riot City Status Check of the Day. – Portland communist Democrat Mayor Ted Wheeler was dining without the required mask and pepper sprayed an ordinary citizen who pointed that out to him Monday night, and nothing will happen to him.

From the story at JustTheNews.com:

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler pepper sprayed an unmasked man with a video camera who confronted him and former Mayor Sam Adams as the two men left a restaurant Sunday evening.

The two mayors had dined at the McMenamins Hillsdale Brewery & Public House and were leaving the establishment at around 8 p.m. when a middle-aged man appeared to accuse the Wheeler of dining without a mask, according to a Portland Police report released Monday.

According to the report, the two mayors informed the stranger that they had dined in the tented area of the restaurant where masks were not required, but that did not deter the man from following Wheeler to his car.

[End]

Wheeler told police – over whom he serves as Commissioner – that he and his partner were “afraid of getting COVID-19.”

Hey, dude, don’t mess with your ruling class unless you’re willing to take the pepper spray, especially as long as COVID is hanging around as a justification for their abuse of you and your rights.

That is America today.

That is all.

Leftists: You Could Never Make Them Up If They Didn’t Already Infest Our Country

Some days you just cannot believe the crap that emanates from the American political left.

No, correct that: MOST days you cannot believe that crap, and today is no exception. Let’s take a look at a few examples.

First, there is this from fascist New York Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo:

Now, in all seriousness, is it really possible that this uncaring, unfeeling brute is just now coming aware of the massive cost of his unconsionable, unconstitutional executive edicts being borne disproportionately by the middle class and lower class citizens of his state? Do you really think that’s possible?

Or do you think it is far more likely – exponentially more likely, in fact – that the fascist Governor of New York was informed of some really bad polling numbers related to his conduct in office, and, now that he didn’t get the appointment he was seeking as China Joe Potato Head Biden’s Attorney General, is suddenly worried about his political future, or lack thereof?

Yeah, that’s a ton more likely, isn’t it?

Then there is Cuomo’s counterpart in California, communist Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom. Defending his own record as governor and his state’s increasingly pervasive reputation as being unfriendly to the business community, San Fran Nan’s step-nephew had this to say over the weekend:

Well, golly, Governor, I’m just sure that all the thousands of small business owners whose livelihoods you’ve destroyed and the hundreds of thousands you have put out of work over the past 10 months with your own unconstitutional and unconscionable edicts feel really great knowing that you’ve been taking care of all the dotcom billionaires up in Silicon Valley.

I mean, seriously: What sort of inhuman ghoul even has that thought, much less entertains saying it out loud?

Oh, but let’s not stop with the governors, shall we? How about this from Maryland Congressman David Trone, who actually thought it would be a peachy idea to tweet out these photographs of himself fleeing in a panic last Wednesday:

Holy crap, it’s like a scene out of Forbidden Planet or something. What a pathetic cretin.

Finally, I kid you not, here is a real, true, actual chyron the despicable, corrupt hacks at CNN ran this morning on behalf of their favorite domestic terrorist group:

Image may contain: 1 person, text that says 'Yountville, CA 6:28 AM PT #CNNSOTU ANTIFA LEFTIST MOVEMENT SEEKS PEACE THROUGH VIOLENCE CNN Rep. Adam Schiff (D) Ranking Member, Intelligence Committee :28 AM ET STATE OF THE UNION'

“Antifa Leftist Movement Seeks Peace Through Violence.” That is not a doctored photo.

How long can it be before we see CNN run chyrons on behalf of Antifa that read:

“Antifa Nutritionists: Solving Hunger Through Starvation.”

Or…

“Antifa Doctors: Saving Lives Through Death.”

Or…

“Antifa Quarterbacks: Winning Games By Fumbling in the Endzone and Throwing Pick-Sixes.”

And why limit it to Antifa? How long can it be before we see CNN chyrons that read:

“Nancy Pelosi: Promoting National Unity Through Impeachment.”

Or…

“Andrew Cuomo: Relieving Nursing Home Overcrowding Through COVID.”

Or…

“Joe Biden: Instilling National Confidence Through Forgetting Which City He’s In.”

Ok, that’s enough – this could literally go on forever.

Suffice it to say that if these leftists didn’t already infest our country, you could never, never, ever make them up in a million years.

That is all.

Thursday News Roundup: Democrat COVID Hypocrisy Reeks of the Days Before the French Revolution

Hey, Marie-Antoinette would’ve loved This French Laundry place. –  Truly, if Marie-Antoinette were alive today she would be a Democrat politician. The hypocrisy of Democrat office holders in California is getting to be so rank and smelly now that even the state’s major newspapers are holding their collective noses and reporting on it.

The San Fran Chronicle reported on Wednesday that Governor Gavin Newsom and the state’s Democrat health officials aren’t the only ones who love to dine at the fancy French Laundry restaurant on the expense accounts of powerful lobbyists while admonishing the little people to stay home and deprive themselves: It turns out that the city’s worthless communist mayor, London Breed, likes to get her own thousand dollar meals as well:

From the SFChron piece:

Gov. Gavin Newsom is in good company when it comes to politicians attending fancy birthday parties while encouraging others to avoid gathering.

It turns out San Francisco Mayor London Breed dined at the French Laundry the night after Newsom’s infamous, ill-advised, mid-pandemic soiree at the three-star Michelin restaurant in Yountville.

Breed took a few days off after election day and joined seven others the night of Nov. 7 to celebrate socialite Gorretti Lo Lui’s 60th birthday, Breed’s spokesman Jeff Cretan confirmed. The party of eight dined in the same kind of partially enclosed room with a ceiling and chandelier as Newsom did — making it more of an indoor dining experience than an outdoor one.

While indoor dining was allowed in Napa County at the time with no specified limit on the number of households, the state’s guidelines “strongly discouraged” social gatherings and capped them at three households. Breed’s dinner at an opulent restaurant — amid an economic catastrophe that’s shuttered countless small businesses and stretched the lines at local food banks to new lengths — might not have technically violated the rules, but it isn’t a great look.

The dinner would have certainly violated San Francisco’s health guidelines if it took place in Breed’s own city. San Francisco has issued stricter guidance than the state for several types of businesses, including restaurants, which were not supposed to seat groups larger than six indoors or outdoors unless everyone lived together. Three days after dining at the French Laundry, Breed banned indoor dining in San Francisco altogether.

[End]

Oh.

If any of that surprises you, you really have not been paying attention.

Democrat hypocrites are not limited to Blue states. – Trust me, we have them in droves in Texas, too. This week’s prime example of rank Democrat hypocrisy comes to us in the form of Austin mayor Steve Adler, the guy who has turned downtown Austin into a San Francisco-style homeless encampment.

On November 9, Adler live-streamed a speech in which he lectured his city’s residents on the vital importance of staying at home and foregoing large gatherings for Thanksgiving. What he did not do during that speech is inform his voters that he was delivering it from his fancy time share condo in … wait for it … Cabo San Lucas!

I swear I do not make this stuff up:

Mayor Adler also did not inform his city’s voters that his family trip to Cabo came right after he had paid for a fancy, 20-person wedding for his daughter. When questioned by the local media about the wisdom of holding such an affair when he is lecturing the little people to avoid having dinner with their parents, Adler bragged that the whole thing was properly socially distanced and that everyone wore masks.

He didn’t provide photos or anything else as proof of that claim, because of course he didn’t.

How do you spell “hypocrite” in America today? The same way you’ve always spelled it: D-E-M-O-C-R-A-T.

Dear Democrats: When you’ve lost CNN, you’ve got a real problem. – The hacks at USAToday did their best to rationalize all this Democrat hyper-hypocrisy away on the claim that it’s all somehow been “taken out of context,” but even the reprobates at CNN weren’t having any of that. Watch below as one CNN host actually speaks truthful words about Democrats live on air, which will probably get her fired:

Wow.

Meanwhile, the natives are growing increasingly restless. – A huge crowd of angry citizens in Staten Island, New York gathered outside a bar called Mac’s Public House after police had forcibly shut it down and arrested the owners:

From the story at ABC7NY:

Sheriff’s deputies are taking extraordinary measures in an ongoing battle with the owners of a Staten Island bar, moving in Tuesday night to shut down the establishment and arresting the general manager.

Mac’s Public House on Lincoln Avenue still has its windows plastered with signs calling it an “autonomous zone,” but now, the sheriff’s office is in control.

Crowds shouted at deputies as they led the restaurant’s general manager, Danny Presti, out in handcuffs after repeated warnings to stop serving customers indoors.

Owner Keith McAlarney said he took the actions he did because his business would not survive another shutdown. Mac’s Public House is located in Grant City, a coronavirus hot spot, and with hospitalizations surging, Governor Andrew Cuomo ordered indoor dining suspended there.

[End]

See, you can only declare yourself to be an “autonomous zone” in today’s America if you are leading a gang of leftist rioters who loot stores and burn buildings and have the endorsement of the local communist Democrat mayor. If you’re a business owner who is just trying to survive, you are fresh out of luck.

This brutish, pervasive and frankly evil level of hypocrisy simply cannot long prevail in a free republic: It can only continue if the republic no longer remains free, and the Democrat Party is well on the way to taking America down that sorry road, using a Covid virus – the common cold is also a Covid virus, by the way – that has a 99.98% recovery rate as justification for their draconian measures.

With despotic Democrats now poised to assume control of the federal executive branch – and potentially both houses of congress as well – America stands poised atop a very slippery slope that could slide rapidly into outright revolution should Biden/Harris and their evil handlers follow through on their promises of national lockdowns and other patently unconstitutional measures despite the rapid development and distribution of an array of vaccines.

The scene outside Mac’s Public House was an actual peaceful protest. No one was hurt, no buildings were burned, no nearby Best Buy’s or Dick’s Sporting Goods were looted. But if this reprehensible level of Democrat hypocrisy continues to prevail in the blue states and escalates to the national level, such scenes will not remain peaceful for much longer.

No nation that is home to an abusive ruling class is truly a free nation. In such nations, freedoms for the common people rapidly disappear, as we have seen happen in America in 2020. As we move into the future, Americans must either resolve to rid themselves of their own abusive ruling class, or we will lose our status as a free nation.

In the course of all human history, there has never been another way.

That is all.

Monday News Roundup: Trump Legal Team Gets a Divorce and Californians Rise up Against Newsom Curfew

Fraud, fraud, everywhere a fraud. – While your corrupt news media spreads the fear porn related to the China Virus, focusing on nothing but the number of “new cases” in your area and nationally, you are supposed to look the other way when when you see a chart like this telling you the truth about the massive fraud that is taking place in our medical community and political set:

That blue line depicts the national percentage of emergency room visits represented by common flu sufferers during the 2009/10 flu season. That big spike took place during September and October of 2009, the year of the Swine Flu, and follows the curve that the seasonal flu follows pretty much every damn year.

Now, that gray shaded area at the bottom of the chart shows us how that curve for seasonal flu looks this year so far since early September. As you can clearly see, our medical community and government expects you to believe that the common flu infections have suddenly almost disappeared from the face of the earth, representing barely 1% of ER visits, as compared to up to 8% during 2009/10.

Meanwhile, that orange area that spikes during the October/November weeks of this year shows the cases of COVID-type cases that have been reported by our medical community and government. Gosh, what a coincidence.

Do you find that 2020 data to be believable? If not, you are a free-thinking person who possesses the ability to reason logically.

In California, the natives are getting tired of all the COVID BS. – Some Californians are getting a bit tired of all the nonsense, as Gov. Gavin Newsom orders public officials to go into grocery stores and confiscate all turkeys weighing more than 10 lbs. to discourage big Thanksgiving gatherings and vainly pleads with police chiefs and sheriffs to enforce his 10 p.m. statewide curfew order.

In Huntington Beach south of Los Angeles, thousands of Californians took to the streets Sunday night for a post-curfew peaceful protest:

Here are some of the scenes from that protest:

No buildings were burned, no police cars torched, no stores looted and no one was harmed or killed, although one guy was arrested for being drunk and disorderly, because of course at least one guy had to be at a demonstration like this. More importantly, the sheriff of Orange County made no effort at all to enforce Newsom’s abusive, senseless order.

This is what peaceful protest and civil disobedience looks like.

In contrast, here is what a group of Antifa thugs (Biden voters) were doing in Omaha, Nebraska at the same time:

Here’s another Biden voter in New York City last night:

Meanwhile, in Trump legal team land… – Holy crap, what in the wide, wide world of sports is a-goin’ on here?

Honestly, it’s hard to know. Apparently, Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis decided they no longer wanted to associate with Sidney Powell and her “Release the Kraken,” scorched earth rhetoric, so they issued the following statement late Sunday afternoon:

“Sidney Powell is practicing law on her own,” Giuliani and Ellis said in the statement. “She is not a member of the Trump Legal Team. She is also not a lawyer for the President in his personal capacity.”

Yikes. This statement came just three days after Powell had certainly appeared to be a part of the team at the press conference they all jointly conducted on Thursday, and raises legitimate questions about just what in the hell is going on here? Those questions become even more convoluted when you have another prominent attorney, L. Lin Wood, out there filing lawsuits and making media appearances in which he also tosses out strong accusations of nationwide election fraud by the Democrats.

For her own part, Powell threw out a statement of her own:

“I understand today’s press release. I will continue to represent #WeThePeople who had their votes for Trump and other Republicans stolen by massive fraud through Dominion and Smartmatic, and we will be filing suit soon. The chips will fall where they may, and we will defend the foundations of this great Republic. #KrakenOnSteroiods”

Given that Powell had been suspended by Twitter earlier in the day for some reason, she had to rely on surrogates like General Mike Flynn to push that message out into the public domain.

The best guess here is that this all has to do with what is going on in Georgia. There, the Trump legal team is working with RINO Gov. Brian Kemp to mount a recount/audit of the ballots that would include signature matching and other investigative elements that the previous recount did not include in spite of promises made by Sec. of State Brad Raffensperger.

At the same time, Powell has been going around accusing Kemp and Raffensperger of being paid off for agreeing to implement hardware and software from Dominion Systems in their state. It seems likely that Giuliani/Ellis/Trump wanted to distance their efforts from Powell’s rhetoric, given what they are trying to accomplish in the state.

That’s just an educated guess, but one thing I can say for absolute certain sure is that you could never, never, ever make this stuff up. Not in a million gazillion years.

No, Joe McCarthy was way more ethical than this clown. – Jonathan Turley was angered over the weekend by the action of one Democrat member of congress who is trying to convince various state bar associations to disbar about a dozen lawyers for the sin of representing the President of the United States in court cases.

No, I’m not kidding – New Jersey Democrat Bill Pascrell really is trying to do that:

From the report by Turley:

We have been discussing the campaign of harassment and threats against Republican lawyers to get them to drop election challenges. New Jersey Democratic Rep. Bill Pascrell expanded that campaign this week with a malicious and frivolous demand for New York and other states to disbar roughly two dozen lawyers for representing Trump, the Republican party, or the Trump campaign in the litigation.  While Democratic members and the media discuss attacks on democracy and the rule of law, they appear to have little problem with campaigns to threaten and harass both lawyers and legislators for raising questions about the election.

Many of us criticized Rudy Giuliani for his performance in this litigation, particularly the controversial press conference held last week. Indeed, I have previously criticized Giuliani for his public comments and allegations. However, Pascrell wants Giuliani disbarred specifically for filing these legal actions as well as a host of other lawyers.

[End]

Remember this whenever you get that feeling that maybe it would be good to return to “normal” when Donald Trump was not on the political scene: A return to that “normal” means that fascists like Cong. Pascrell are fully in charge of your life.

That is all.

Thursday News Roundup: Newsom Exposed and Cuomo Goes Completely off the Rails

Another big reversal in Wayne County, Michigan. – I discuss the latest reversal by the GOP members of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers elsewhere today. It’s potentially a big deal for a variety of reasons.

Hey, that’s totally believable. – A local TV station in Fulton County, Georgia reported yesterday that one precinct in Atlanta a reported turnout that was 3300% above the number of registered voters living there.

From our Department of Futile Gestures….

God Bless Jim Jordan, but even if San Fran Nan were inclined to worry about election integrity (she isn’t), she’d just put Pencil Neck Adam Schiff in charge of any such investigation so it could be falsified and buried. The House of Representatives has no productive role to play here.

Bring them all home, Mr. President. – Now that he has some loyal people installed at the Pentagon, President Trump is using what could become the final months of his presidency to bring America’s men and women back home from the senseless Middle East and North African wars his predecessors got them involved in over the past 32 years. After announcing such moves related to the 19 year war in Afghanistan and the 18 year war in Iraq, the President is now reportedly preparing to bring most of our people home from the festering hellhole that is Somalia.

From a report at Reuters:

President Donald Trump may withdraw nearly all U.S. troops from Somalia as part of a global pullback that includes reductions of forces in Afghanistan and Iraq, U.S. officials said on Tuesday.

The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said nothing had been finalized and that no orders for Somalia have been received by the U.S. military. But there appeared to be a growing expectation that drawdown orders would be coming soon.

The Pentagon on Tuesday announced that Trump will reduce U.S. forces in Afghanistan from 4,500 to 2,500 by Jan. 15, just five days before his term ends, and cut U.S. forces in Iraq by 500 to the same level.

The United States has about 700 troops in Somalia focused on helping local forces defeat the al Qaeda-linked al Shabaab insurgency. The mission receives little attention in the United States but is considered a cornerstone of the Pentagon’s global efforts to combat al Qaeda.

Trump’s newly-installed acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller, a former Green Beret and counterterrorism official, is taking a hard look at Somalia and could opt for keeping a minimal presence there and stop relying on large deployments to combat al Shabaab.

[End]

If President Trump really wants to take this global, he should look at getting our remaining forces out of freaking Germany, where America has spent the last 75 years defending the country that started two World Wars from an “enemy” – the Soviet Union – that has not even existed for 30 long years now. Now, that would be a wonderful thing.

Cuomo goes completely off the rails. – Governor Andrew Cuomo held one of his Fidel Castro-like press events yesterday, ostensibly designed to provide the public with useful information and comfort about the draconian new shut-down restrictions he is imposing on them yet again.

Instead, the Central American dictator-in-training went completely off the rails, blaming his citizens for the problems with the China Virus, and haranguing one reporter who simply asked whether or not the state’s schools would be shut down.

Here are a couple of examples:

But Cuomo’s not the only despot-in-training. – Indeed, from New Jersey to Pennsylvania to Michigan to Nevada to California, the nation is filled to the gills with communist Democrat governors who are just itching for the chance to move to Honduras or Nicaragua and spend their lives issuing edicts depriving the masses of any human rights at all.

In California, Gavin Newsom continues to do his best imitation of Castro’s predecessor, the pompous and arrogant Fulgencio Batista, imposing dramatic restrictions on the masses while flaunting them in public. In the latest example of Newsom’s boundless hubris, he imposed new restrictions on the state’s restaurants and on Thanksgiving gatherings, then flew up to Napa for a ritzy, maskless, non-social distanced dinner at the fabulous French Laundry restaurant with a couple dozen of the state’s elite in celebration of some lobbyist’s birthday.

Photos show CA Gov Gavin Newsom without a mask at dinner | The Sacramento Bee

Astonishingly, two of the guests at the dinner were California Medical Assocation CEO Dustin Corcoran and CMA’s lobbyist Janus Norman.

You seriously could never make this stuff up in a million gazillion years, folks.

From a story at Politico:

California Medical Association officials were among the guests seated next to Gov. Gavin Newsom at a top California political operative’s opulent birthday dinner at the French Laundry restaurant this month.

CEO Dustin Corcoran and top CMA lobbyist Janus Norman both joined the dinner at the French Laundry, an elite Napa fine dining restaurant, to celebrate the 50th birthday of lobbyist and longtime Newsom adviser Jason Kinney, a representative of the powerful interest group confirmed Wednesday morning.

Both Norman and Corcoran are friends of Kinney, as is Newsom, who referred this week to his 20-year friendship with Kinney. In a photo obtained by Fox LA, Norman is clearly visible seated to Newsom’s left.

The presence of CMA brass could amplify criticisms of the dinner occurring despite coronavirus restrictions that have limited Californians’ movements and constrained businesses. While Newsom and Kinney’s lobbying firm have said the meal abided by public health rules, it has struck a chord with Californians who have assailed the upscale soiree as hypocritical as coronavirus cases surge.

The state has issued guidelines prohibiting more than three households from gathering privately — a limit clearly exceeded by the French Laundry dinner. However, the state has intentionally allowed restaurants to seat people from more than three households together.

[End]

Oh. I would feel sympathy for California’s masses, but hey, they voted for this jackass in overwhelming numbers. Or at least the state’s Democrat election officials told them they did.

Think about it.

Finally, if you think that mask is protecting you or anyone else, think again. – Check out the results of this massive Danish study on the efficacy of masks:

Gavin Newsom’s Unbridled Energy Hubris

Three big oil and gas-related stories this week were all interrelated with one another, though few really understand that to be the case. Those stories were:

For Governor Newsom, banning hydraulic fracturing – or “fracking” as it has come to be called – in his state is a relatively simple matter in what has become, for all intents and purposes, a one-party state. All he has to do is convince his overwhelming majorities in both houses of California’s state assembly to pass a bill mandating that all fracking operations cease within the state’s borders by a date certain.

Such a move would of course eliminate thousands of oil and gas-related jobs in the state, but most of those are concentrated in Republican Kern County and the surrounding parts of the Central Valley, over which the assembly’s Democrats would have little concern. Besides, they can all just respond to Republican and industry complaints with the Obama-era pretense that all those lost jobs and more will be made up by the heavily-subsidized wind and solar industries. It will be akin to former President Obama telling West Virginia coal miners and Ohio steel workers that their jobs are never coming back and they should all go learn to code.

Replacing the state’s millions of gas and diesel autos with electric vehicles will be far more complicated. Newsom’s order gets that ball rolling by requiring the California Air Resources Board to implement the phaseout of new gas-powered cars and light trucks in the coming years, and also require medium and heavy-duty trucks to be zero-emission by 2045 where possible. Sounds simple, right?

But here’s the thing about all of that: The generation and provision of energy is basically a zero-sum game. When you ban one energy source, you must figure out a way to generate the same amount of energy by another source. You either do that or you accept the reality that energy will become scarce, and thus far more expensive so that consumers demand less of it, and write off the negative economic consequences that will inevitably result.

Saturday News Roundup: Gavin Newsom’s 3rd World California; TDS Reaches New Depths

The Green New Deal, illustrated:

Image may contain: text

The problem in California right now, the reason the state is suffering from rolling blackouts impacting millions, is because California Democrats have over the last quarter century intentionally prevented utility companies from building enough of those “backup power stations” you see in the second panel. So, when you have record high temperatures in parts of the state and massive wildfires (mainly caused by other Democrat policies that prevent proper forest management) in other parts of the state, you end up with residents of the state with the world’s 10th-largest economy living in what is effectively a third world country.

This is the single best photo I’ve seen that illustrates the current state California under Gavin Newsom:

Image

It’s perfect. Everything about it.

UPDATE: Just came across this video clip on Twitter. It is also pitch-perfect:

A new low for Trump Derangement Syndrome. – The nation’s Democrat/Media/liberal/socialist/communist community reacted to President Trump’s second Nobel Peace Prize nomination in a week on Friday with predictable irrational outrage. Here is an American president, achieving what his predecessors have tried for decades to accomplish. If Barack Obama or Bill Clinton had been able to do exactly what Trump has done in the Middle East and in the Serbia/Kosovo situation, they’d have been erecting statues in his honor.

But, in the current TDS madness that infests the American Left, anything Trump does must – MUST – be bad. There is no alternative. If Trump found a cure for cancer, it would be bad, and Anderson Cooper would hold a townhall on CNN with half a dozen Democrats talking about how great having cancer is for our society.

You know that’s true. Indeed, Kamala Harris is so anxious to appeal to the TDS crowd – and probably afflicted with it herself – that she came out last week in opposition to a vaccine for COVID-19, if it’s produced during the Trump Administration. She really did that, regardless of how she is attempting to walk it all back now.

This is how crazy and frankly stupid and anti-American the American Left truly is. Nowhere is this TDS madness more clearly illustrated than a piece published yesterday by The Atlantic, which is fresh off of pushing the “Trump hates the military” hoax. Yesterday, The Atlantic published a piece written by some clown named Graeme Wood who hysterically suggests that, because Trump has been nominated for two well-deserved Nobel Peace Prizes, the Nobel Peace Prize should be eliminated.

No, really, he did. I swear I do not make this stuff up. Really, who could?

Here’s an excerpt from Wood’s hysterical screed:

Trolls are a Scandinavian invention, straight from the frigid sagas of Norse mythology, but Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a Norwegian parliamentarian, swears that he is not one. Observers of his antics this week could be forgiven for thinking otherwise. On Wednesday, he announced that he had nominated Donald J. Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. “Can you name a person who has done more for peace than President Trump?” Tybring-Gjedde asked me, insisting that the question was a serious one. Kayleigh McEnany, the White House press secretary, agreed. ”This is a hard-earned and well-deserved honor for the president,” she said. Tybring-Gjedde defended his nomination on Fox News remotely, and to me in person at a café in Oslo. “Do we give the prize to Greta Thunberg, for screaming about the environment?” he asked. “The agreement he made between Israel and the United Arab Emirates could mean peace between Israel and the Arab world. That is like the [Berlin] Wall falling down.” Today the White House reportedly will announce that Bahrain, another Gulf monarchy, will recognize Israel.

If Trump wins the prize, it will be the fourth Nobel awarded for peace between Israel and its neighbors. (The announcement will come on October 9.) That will make Arab-Israeli peace mediators more successful at charming the Nobel Committee than the International Committee of the Red Cross, which has won three times in the prize’s 120-year history, but still less successful than my favorite, which is no one at all. The committee has declined to award a peace prize 19 times, most recently in 1972. (The next year, in a decision so trollish it might have come out of the Prose Edda, they awarded the prize to Henry Kissinger.) Giving the peace prize to no one at all is a tradition the Nobel Committee should revive, perhaps on a permanent basis. The record of achievement of the peace laureates is so spotty, and the rationales for their awards so eclectic, that the committee should take a long break to consider whether peace is a category coherent enough to be worth recognizing. Peace had its chance, and blew it. The Trump nomination—one of hundreds, including this second from a Swede—helps show why.

[End]

So, basically, we see that Wood is not just a TDS-mad Trump hater, he’s also an anti-Semite who wants Isreal to be destroyed. Thus, he’s a great candidate to eventually be put on the Editorial Board for the New York Times or in a high position within the Democrat National Committee.

You really could not ever make these people up if they did not already sadly exist.

Meanwhile, in Portland, Oregon… – The 100 days of fun in Riot City, USA were cancelled on Friday:

But hey, there was still fun to be found in the nation’s capital! After Chuck Schumer and his fellow despicable Senate Democrats killed the follow-up stimulus legislation this week, there was only one thing for the communist rioters who call themselves Black Lives Matter to do, wasn’t there?

That’s right: They showed up to protest the death of this bill, which EVERY REPUBLICAN IN THE SENATE SUPPORTED, at the home of … wait for it… oh, you have to wait for this one …. MITCH MCCONNELL.

Again, I swear to you that I do not. make. this. stuff. up.:

Queen Nancy Personifies the Democrat Party’s Contempt for Ordinary Americans

So, why do we care where Queen Nancy gets her hair done? – The answer to that is simple, isn’t it? It’s because she has been one of the loudest Democrat voices over the last six months lecturing the little people of America to stay locked up in their homes and only venture out when wearing a mask. She’s been one of the most ardent fans of the lockdowns mandated by despicable Democrat governors like her step-nephew Gavin Newsom, putting millions of little people out of work and shuttering hundreds of thousands of businesses.

Even worse than her act of intentionally violating nephew Gavin’s lockdown/mask orders on Sunday by intimidating a single mother salon owner to open her shuttered business just for her decripit, stringy mane was Queen Nancy’s response to getting caught. She couldn’t lower herself to do the simple thing: To admit her wrongdoing and ask to be forgiven. Instead, she haughtily claimed at a press conference to having been “set up” and demanded that the salon owner she had intimidated apologize to her.

Nancy Pelosi says her visit to a hair salon was a 'setup' - Los Angeles Times

This would seem a small matter were it not so perfectly emblematic of the dismissive stance taken towards ordinary Americans not just by Queen Nancy and her despicable fellow Democrats, but many Republicans who fester in the DC Swamp as well.

It is a sad fact of America’s current state of being that, aside from President Donald Trump, several members of his cabinet and senior advisory staff and a handful of members of congress, almost the entirety of the District of Columbia has become hostile territory. About 95% of the national news media is supportive of that contempt for the American people. Even worse, the Democrat Party funds two different domestic terrorist groups – Antifa and BLM – whose operatives travel the country burning and looting vast swaths of Democrat-controlled cities at will, knowing the Democrat mayors will not allow the police to properly deal with them.

Here’s a prime example of these terrorists acting with impunity in Washington, DC just a few hours before this was written:

The police can’t act because the Mayor won’t allow it. The Mayor isn’t home, so she couldn’t care less about the disturbance and threat these thugs are creating for her neighbors. You think you’re safe in your home because your town has ordinances that designate this to be criminal behavior? Better check to see which political party your mayor is affiliated with, because you might be surprised to discover exactly how unsafe you really are.

The Democrat Party also has an online army, the social media outrage mob that attacks, doxxes and cancels anyone the Democrats point their gnarly fingers towards. The single mother salon owner, Erica Kious, made an appearance on Tucker Carlson’s show last night. She told Carlson that Nephew Gavin’s lockdown order has caused her to lose 60% of her clients and most of her stylists and that her business is dead.

Even worse, she told Carlson that she will have to leave San Francisco after being attacked by the Democrat outrage mob on social media with the most vile and disgusting kinds of death threats imaginable.

It’s a disgrace. This is behavior that no civilized society should allow, but that’s the whole point: The Democrat Party is working hard to ensure that America loses its status as a civilized society.

See, it would be impossible to “transform” a free nation of 330 million people who exist as a cohesive unit, a people who share common values, a common outlook and common goals. It is far, far easier to foment a Marxist-style revolution within a population that is completely divided among itself, shares no common values or goals and is already assaulting one another online and actively attacking one another in the streets.

Every goal the Democrat Party has pursued over the past half-century has been designed to divide the American population along class, race and religious lines. They’ve used education policy for this, they’ve used tax policy for this, they’ve used civil rights policy for this, they’ve used housing policies and healthcare policies, immigration polices and foreign policy for this. Hell, they’ve even used energy and environmental policy to advance their divisive goals.

Democrats like Nancy Pelosi now believe that they are on the cusp of consolidating that half century of hard work in this year’s election. Her contempt for and hostility towards Erica Kious is just the manifestation of the way she feels towards all of us.

In their path stands a single obstacle: Donald J. Trump. He’s it. He is all the rest of America has.

You give this woman a majority in the House and Joe Biden/Kamala Harris in the White House, you will not enjoy the result.

That is all.

WINNING ALERT: Dow 29,000, NASDAQ 12,000, S&P All-Time High, Pelosi Angry

Just thought a little good news was in order here. Today, in response to continuing positive economic news and growing optimism about President Donald Trump’s re-election chances, the stock market rocketed skywards into new record territory.

Image may contain: 1 person, text that says 'MARKET ACTION DOW JONES INDUSTRIALS (.DJIA) 29,004.51 358.85 (+1.25%) S&P 500 (.SPX) 3,570.42 43.77 (+1.24%) NASDAQ COMPOSITE (.NCOMP) 12,021.49 81.82 (+0.69% FOXI MARKETS BRUSH OFF DISAPPOINTING ADP NUMBERS DOW BUSINESS AS MARKETS OPENED AT ALL-TIME HIGHS 29,005.24 1:05P MT CLAMAN COUNTDOWN NAS 12,021.46 81.79 +0.69% 359.58'

The NASDAQ shot over 12,000 for the first time to reach a new all-time high. The S&P 500 closed at 3,581, also a new record close.

Meanwhile the Dow Jones Industrial average rose by 455 points to close above 29,000 for the first time this year, finishing the day at 29,101. The Dow has now regained 98% of its losses early this year, and is within 400 points of its all-time record close.

The Trump economy just will not be held back.

Recognize that this massive growth has been achieved with despicable Democrat governors in states like New York, California, New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania and else where keeping their economies shut down for no reason other than cynical attempts to influence the outcome of the November elections. Sadly, they have been joined by a handful of Republican governors in states like Alabama, Arizona and Ohio in those efforts.

But no matter, the Trump economy just shrugs them off like flies on a horse’s rump, and keeps on moving ahead.

Meanwhile, in other wonderful news, Queen Nancy Pelosi put out a statement today claiming she was “set up” by the hair salon owner – who is a single mother, no less – she actually intimidated into opening on Sunday. Taking no responsibility for not knowing the current state of COVID restrictions mandated by her own step-nephew, Dictator Gavin Newsom, she said the salon owed her an apology for causing her office to be inundated with complaints:

Here’s the deal, folks: Queen Nancy is lying through her dentures about all of this. She is, without question, the very worst person in this country.

Queen Pelosi Visits Shuttered Hair Salon for a “Blowout”

Queen Nancy the Beast needed her hair done. Unfortunately, she found herself at home in San Francisco, safely ensconced behind the massive security wall surrounding her palatial estate. The problem was that San Francisco is in California, a state where Dictator Gavin Newsom is keeping the salons closed for no real reason other than politics. Plus, Newsom has decreed that one must – MUST, I say – not venture out into public without wearing a mask, which Queen Nancy doesn’t like to do. Unless, of course, there is a virtue-signaling reason to put one on for the TV cameras, because Queen Nancy does love her virtue signals.

What to do, oh, what to do?

But fear not, for Queen Nancy is privileged. Why, she’s even special – just ask her. So special that Dictator Newsom is her nephew, if only by marriage, but that’s special enough to intimidate most Californians. Even California business owners who own a salon that is officially closed.

And so it was that on Sunday afternoon, when Queen Nancy really, really, really needed a “blowout”, whatever that might be, she contacted a hair stylist to demand that she meet her at the shuttered salon where she used to work – you know, when she was allowed to work by Dictator Newsom – and restore her gnarly, decrepit hair to its former glory, or to as much glory as it can muster these days, which isn’t much.

The poor stylist knew she had little choice, given all the damage Queen Nancy and her step-nephew could to to her life if she refused. So she got permission from the shocked salon owner and met Queen Nancy at the salon, where this ensued:

And thus it was that Queen Nancy had her personal need fulfilled while her step-nephew, Dictator Newsom, ensured that the little people of California remained suffering with bad hair.

This concludes your Despicable Democrat Fairy Tale for today.

Democrat Energy Policies on Display in California Rolling Blackouts

It’s 93 degrees in Southern California on Tuesday, and 10 million Californians are without power to their homes as a result.

I kid you not.

The corrupt hacks in the Democrat news media are trying to pretend that, as Politico claims, “everyone faces blame,” but the truth is that these blackouts are a direct result of proscriptive, Green New Deal-style energy policies adopted by Democrat-dominated governments over the last quarter of a century.

Here’s an excerpt from that Policito report:

The exact root of California’s rolling blackouts is still unclear as more power outages loom, and that’s allowed everyone to point fingers.

Energy experts Monday cited a litany of potential causes for the rotating outages that affected hundreds of thousands of California residents Friday and Saturday nights: ballooning demand, inadequate transmission, an overreliance on renewable energy and natural gas plant challenges during hot weather.

While California braced for another round of rolling blackouts Monday night, the state’s grid operator held off for a second straight night, citing cooler than expected weather and widespread conservation. It also came as Gov. Gavin Newsom questioned all of the state’s electricity players about why the outages occurred and faced blowback from frustrated residents. Still, the state says more blackouts affecting millions of residents could occur this week as a historic heat wave endures.

California has endured planned blackouts in recent years as a wildfire prevention measure. But it was the Golden State’s first round of rolling blackouts related to supply since 2001, when Enron and other energy traders manipulated California’s market.

[End]

Note how the corrupt Politico hacks managed to insert a reference to Enron, a company that did indeed manipulate markets in California and other parts of the country, but which hasn’t even existed for almost 20 years. Note also, however, the key admission that Democrat governors Jerry Brown and Gavin Newsom have both used rolling blackouts intentionally as bogus “fire prevention measures”, an effort designed to condition residents of the Golden State to accept such systemic losses of power as just another part of the Democrat-induced “new normal.”

Understand what this means, folks: To California’s depraved Democrats, rolling blackouts are not an inconvenience to be avoided, but a public conditioning tool to be intentionally deployed during major emergencies.

The next three paragraphs of this lede-burying story reveal the real nature of the issue:

Earlier Monday, the California Independent System Operator blamed Friday’s outages on “high heat and increased electricity demand.” Yet some energy experts noted that demand wasn’t particularly higher than normal, as is typical for weekends, and CAISO had predicted it would have adequate reserves on hand for the 80 percent of California’s grid that it manages.

“What’s weird about what happened is they were adequate until they weren’t,” said Michael Wara, director of Stanford University’s climate and energy program and a member of the state’s Catastrophic Wildfire Cost and Recovery Commission. “It seems as if certain power plants for some reason were not able to deliver on the commitments to supply reserves and also supply energy.”

Because the Friday outage started around 6:30 p.m., when solar is ramping down and gas-fired plants are ramping up, gas is the likely immediate culprit, Wara said. “The timing of all this strongly suggests problems with gas plants,” he said.

[End]

Why yes, there are “problems with gas plants” in California: There aren’t enough of them, because the Democrat-controlled government in Sacramento has spent the last 20-plus years making them increasingly costly to permit and build. In addition, the absurdly impractical emissions goals adopted by a string of leftwing governors have given public utilities like CAISO no choice but to resort to a massive over-reliance of intermittent sources like wind and solar while at the same time under-building new base-load capacity fired by natural gas plants.

Indeed, it is not even possible at this point to build any form of true baseload power plants in California other than combined cycle natural gas, as coal and nuclear has been basically outlawed by the communist Democrats in the state. And so, we have the rolling blackouts day after day during a summer that is not particularly hot by California standards and which is positively mild by standards seen in other southwestern states.

What we are in fact seeing taking place in California this week is nothing more or less than a preview of the kinds of summer days filled with rolling blackouts that the energy/environment policies endorsed by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris would produce for the entire nation.

If you like your air conditioning and want to keep it, vote for Donald Trump. It really is that simple.

That is all.

The Corona Panic Porn Just Never Ends

California Governor Gavin Newsom, a despicable Democrat, tanked a major stock rally today by announcing he was re-closing his state. Newsom attributes his latest irrational, probably illegal action to his state’s rising number of “cases” of COVID-19, a number everyone knows is vastly inflated and fraudulent.

As Newsom takes this action motivated solely by politics, the folks at the Daily Caller thought it was important to remind readers what was taking place in Los Angeles a month ago, because Newsom says this is still ok.:

Oh. Any questions?

Meanwhile, in other COVID-19 news… – Alex Berenson has an important CORONAPANIC UPDATE from Florida:

Oh.

Remember the goal in Florida is to inflate the numbers so high that they justify cancelling the GOP National Convention. So, expect them to go much, much higher in the next 2-3 weeks.

And a fair warning from @EthicalSkeptic about the flood of “new” deaths to come, as states that have withheld that data will now start claiming it is all “covid-related” to keep the panic going:

Despicable.

But none of this fits the narrative, so, carry on.

Thursday News Roundup: The COVID-19 Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves

The beatings will continue until morale improves. – California Governor Gavin Newsom re-implemented lockdown orders yesterday in 19 of the state’s most populous counties, as reported by Fox News:

California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced a new round of lockdown measures Wednesday, ordering 19 counties to close all indoor operations for several business sectors, including restaurants, as the state grapples with a resurgence of coronavirus cases.

In addition to bars being forced to shut down temporarily, restaurants, wineries, movie theaters, family entertainment venues, zoos, museums and cardrooms must halt operations in selected communities, Newsom said Wednesday.

Businesses can continue to operate if they can move operations outdoors.

“This doesn’t mean restaurants are shut down,” Newsom, a Democrat, said at a briefing. “It means that we’re trying to take the activities, as many activities as we can — these mixed activities, these concentrated activities — and move them outdoors, which is a way of mitigating the spread of this virus.”

The list of affected counties ran up and down the state: Contra Costa, Fresno, Glenn, Imperial, Kern, Kings, Los Angeles, Merced, Orange, Riverside, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Joaquin, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Solano, Stanislaus, Tulare and Ventura counties.

[End]

So, thousands more businesses hampered beyond profitability or lost completely, tens of thousands more Californians back to the unemployment roles, all in a re-try of a strategy that has already been proven to be utterly ineffective.

And that’s not all:

Beaches in Los Angeles County, along with piers and bicycle paths, will close beginning Friday through Monday in an effort to prevent a repeat of Memorial Day weekend when large crowds gathered in close proximity and largely ignored safety measures.

All parking facilities at state beaches in Southern California and the Bay Area will also be closed for the upcoming weekend. The closures reverse the reopening process that began weeks ago after months of unprecedented lockdowns.

The state first began to “toggle back” reopenings over the weekend when it ordered bar closures in seven counties that are seeing increases in infections.

Ahead of the holiday weekend, the governor has voiced concerns about people gathering with friends and family, which he said could lead to complacency and more virus transmissions. He is also urging municipalities to rethink firework displays.

[End]

Ok, so no gathering with friends and family? But what about all those riots and protests and demonstrations by the Antifa/BLM domestic terrorist arm of the Democrat Party?

Oh, hey, those are fine:

Well of course they are. Allowing this dichotomy of government action to continue to go on is inhumanly depraved. People can’t go to church, can’t attend movies, can’t hug their grandparents, can’t let their children play in a park or on a beach without the Democrat governor or mayor sending in the police. But let 5,000 potential rioters pack themselves tightly into a public space for a few hours to chant obscene slogans advocating de-funding and murdering police officers, and the governors and mayors can’t be bothered to lift a finger.

You just could never make this stuff up, folks, not in a million bazillion years.

Meanwhile, in Texas, a different kind of protest action rose up. – Taking a cue from the leftists at Antifa/BLM, a Kilgore bar owner organized what he calls the “Bar Lives Matter” protest against the orders of Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Wednesday:

Austin, Texas protest lockdown bars

From a story at the New York Post:

Bar owners in Texas staged a protest in reaction to the state’s order to shut them down for a second time due to the coronavirus, reports said.

Tee Allen Parker, owner of the Machine Shed Bar and Grille, named Tuesday’s event “Bar Lives Matter” in an apparent reference to the Black Lives Matter movement against police brutality.

Parker, whose establishment is in Kilgore, Texas, roughly two hours south of Dallas, is already suing Texas Gov. Greg Abbot over the bar closures — which he claims are devastating his livelihood and forcing many of his peers into bankruptcy, according to CBS Austin.

“This one individual is picking and choosing winners and losers,” Jared Woodfill, an attorney for Parker, told the outlet. “Gov. Abbott has chosen to sentence bar owners to bankruptcy.”

As a part of its most recent coronavirus order, Texas did not close down or limit capacity at other businesses — like hair salons, tattoo parlors, and nail studios. The order did require restaurants to operate at 50 percent capacity.

“You can’t tell me that my tiny little bar is the problem. He’s the problem,” Parker previously told the Washington Post. “He’s targeting us, and it’s discrimination.”

[End]

I have been an off-and-on fan of Gov. Abbott, but it is very hard to argue with Parker’s statement that the Governor and his “Strike Force” of advisors, not the bars, are the real problem. Just like Newsom, Gov. Abbott has done next-to-nothing to crack down on the massive demonstrations and protest actions that include no social distancing and very little mask-wearing that happened in Texas’s major cities during June. Similarly, Abbott continues to do next-to-nothing to educate the Texas public about the massive fraud the state’s hospitals are committing in their reporting of new “cases” in their craven efforts to grab as much federal money as possible.

To single out bars amid all of the other establishments at which Texans congregate closely in groups is obviously discriminatory and very likely violates both the U.S. and Texas constitutions. From April through June, it was easy to pound solely on Democrat governors for their depravity in the face of this viral gift from China, but Abbott and Arizona’s Mike Ducey are making it very difficult to continue drawing that distinction.

Better temper that optimism over a Wuhan Virus “vaccine.” – Stocks all over the world rose overnight and the U.S. markets are poised for a big opening today due to optimistic news regarding the development of several COVID-19 vaccines.

From a Reuters story:

NEW YORK, July 1 (Reuters) – U.S. stocks moved higher on Wednesday as rising hopes of a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine eased concerns another round of lockdowns was likely following a record surge in coronavirus cases in the United States.

Pfizer Inc’s shares rose nearly 5% after the drugmaker said a COVID-19 vaccine being developed with German biotech firm BioNTech showed promise and was found to be well-tolerated in early-stage human trials.

The gains made Pfizer shares one of the top boosts to both the S&P 500 and Dow Industrials while U.S.-listed shares of BioNTech gained more than 8%, helping improve the mood on Wall Street after the United States registered 47,000 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, the biggest one-day spike since the start of the pandemic.

Investors were also encouraged by some upbeat economic data as coronavirus-induced lockdowns have eased. A report on Wednesday showed a slump in global manufacturing had ebbed in June, with U.S. figures hitting their highest level in more than a year.

[End]

That all sounds great, right? Trouble is, the day before we saw this announcement largely ignored by our corrupt news media:

Do you understand what that’s telling you? It’s telling you that the FDA is planning to refer to any medical treatment that produces 50% better results than a damn sugar pill as a “vaccine.” What exactly is 50% better than zero?

So, if you still labor under the illusion that Anthony Fauci and Bill Gates are going to ride to the rescue this coming winter with a miracle cure for the Wuhan Virus, you are in for one enormous disappointment.

That’s not going to happen.

Our country must do the same thing with COVID-19 that we have done with every previous flu strain: Learn to live with it. Protect the most vulnerable, practice common sense safety measures and effectively treat those who become ill. All of this other stuff and fear porn flying around in the public domain thanks mainly to Fauci, our main current national menace, is just so much nonsense designed frighten you into submission.

We are in a very dangerous place at the moment. Be careful out there.

Larry Schweikart: Democrats Push the Panic-Porn Button

Guest Contribution by America’s History Teacher, Larry Schweikart

As the Democrat governors lose the narrative of the China Virus—and also lose control of their states, they have ratcheted up the panic-porn to new levels. Hoax News reporters harangue President Donald Trump about not wearing a mask, then about taking hydroxychloroquine, then about whether he would shut down the country if the China Virus numbers suddenly rise again.

His answers? “No, I won’t wear a mask,” “I’ve been taking hydroxycholoroquine for two weeks,” and “No, I won’t shut the country down again.”

Bravo.

It’s clear none of this has anything whatsoever to do with a flu and everything to do with damaging the U.S. economy enough to keep Trump from getting massively reelected. After all, they did it once before . . . sort of. In early October, 2016, as Joel Pollak and I revealed in our book How Trump Won, the Trump team was circulating internal polls that were shockingly good for The Donald. How good? They had him within the margin of error in Illinois, Rhode Island, and Oregon. They had him even in Minnesota (which, as it turned out, was the case).

I am convinced that Hillary Clinton’s team was reading the same tea leaves, and had to do anything to stop the momentum. I believe that is why they rolled out the “Access Hollywood” tape so early. It did have a damaging, but quite temporary, effect on the Trump team. But by election day, the impact had faded, and while Trump did not carry Oregon, or Rhode Island, or Illinois, he did shock the pundits by winning perennial teaser states for the GOP like Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, and came reasonably close to winning Virginia and within a hair of winning New Hampshire. This suggests that early internal polling had some merit.

The point is, “Access Hollywood” was a last-minute, desperate brake on Trump’s momentum. While the Democrats didn’t introduce the China Virus to the U.S.—China did—they reveled in an opportunity to again put a brake on Trumpmentum. One can look at polls from the same Hoax Pollsters who gave us a Hillary landslide in 2016, or who missed Wisconsin by an average of six points, or who missed the Ron DeSantis/Rick Scott/Josh Hawley/Mike Braun elections in 2018. Those same Hoax Pollsters say that Joe (I’m hidin’) Biden, who hasn’t appeared in public at a live event in nearly two months, is somehow leading President Trump.

If you buy that, then you likely have the Las Vegas Raiders winning the Super Bowl this year, too.
What the draconian lockdowns by the blue-state governors, particularly Gretchen Whitmer in Michigan, J. B. Pritzker in Illinois, Gavin Newsom in California, and Andrew Cuomo in New York have done is to finally . . . finally . . . chip away at the remaining Democrat base. Already—and the Democrats, deep in their evil hovels of voter analysis know this—Trump has been eroding the black vote and has been actually building quite a bit of Hispanic support. Most polls put Trump’s black approval at between 16% and 22%.

Blacks, and even black conservatives, are quick to insist that Trump won’t get that much of the actual black vote, and they are right. He doesn’t need to. He’ll get between 12-13% actual vote, but add to that another 3-5% of black voters who will stay home. That is a death sentence for the Democrats. That alone would put Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida, and North Carolina in Trump’s column. But when you add that to his up to 47% (in some polls) Hispanic support, and combine that with the outrage in the suburban areas of Virginia, Minnesota, Colorado, and other states enduring a lockdown, Trump’s electoral college numbers are poised to soar.

These last two weeks we had two good tests of the public mood on the lockdowns. A Republican held the WI7 seat largely on the basis of winning mail-in ballots, and not just absentees! In California, Mike Garcia flipped the seat previously held by Katie (The Fuller Brush Girl) Hill, who had resigned. Garcia won by nine, and most surprising of all, continued to break even in the days after the election when Democrat “vote harvesting” often produces surprises. Then, in Staughton, Virginia, Republicans flipped three out of three city assembly seats in a district that went for Barack Obama twice. The issues? Guns and the lockdown.

When you add to this the fact that Governor Cuomo literally sentenced old people to death by sending China-Virus-infected old people back to nursing homes, I think you’ll start to see a serious boil here by election time. The last hope was to somehow perpetuate the panic through the virtue-signaling wearing of masks (of dubious effectiveness, as admitted even by St. Fauci). It ain’t happenin’. The red states that opened, such as Georgia and Florida, have lower rates of the China Virus now. Remarkable what sunlight and herd immunity will do to the flu.

As for Trump? He will be the beneficiary of not only creating one, but two great economies by election time, while simultaneously overcoming the China Virus. The Democrats couldn’t help themselves. They pushed the Panic Porn Button too soon.

Monday News Roundup: Rand Paul is Done With Fauci and Cuomo Scurries for Cover

The Mid-Day Campaign Update

“My fellow Republican senators have tried to see things from the Speaker’s point of view, but we can’t get our heads that far up our rear ends.” – Louisiana Senator John Kennedy on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo just now, talking about Pelosi’s $3 trillion “stimulus bill” atrocity.

Oops, he did it again. – Remember how serial alarmist Anthony Fauci warned that we would see a spike in Wuhan Virus cases in states that opened up their economies early? Yeah, that’s not happening, according to HHS Secretary Alex Azar. Appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union” program with Snake Jake Tapper, Azar had this to say about that:

“We are seeing that in areas that are opening, we’re not seeing the spike in cases. We still see spikes in some areas that are, in fact, closed, very localized situations. And so this is going to be very important for us to watch the circumstances on the ground. With reopening, what’s the key to reopening?”

Thus, as with every other prediction Fauci has made related to this Chinese plague over the past four months, he turns out to have been wrong. When are we going to quit listening to this guy?

Rand Paul is certainly grown weary of Fauci’s faulty advice. – In a weekend interview with NewsMax TV’s Greg Kelly, Senator Paul had this to say about Fauci’s contention that we need to keep schools closed through the fall semester:

“The future is difficult and we shouldn’t assume that one guy with a Ph.D. or an M.D. knows everything about the future,” he said.

“Every school was closed and not one kid was sick in Kentucky. Is that an overreach? I don’t know,” Paul added. “We have 600,000 people out of work in Kentucky now. We’ve got devastating numbers where we’re gonna bankrupt the state again on unemployment, even though we’ve given $3 trillion out.

“There’s not enough money in China, there’s not enough money to be printed at the Federal Reserve. We’ve gotta open the economy and we have to be reasonable about this. We can’t wait for perfection. That’s my gripe with Dr. Fauci. Not that he’s a disingenuous person or he doesn’t have the right motives. I think he does. I think he wants what’s best for the country. But so do I, and we have to have a debate over whether we keep the economy closed. I don’t think it can go on forever.”

[End]

Senator Paul is right.

Perfect example of how Democrats behave in the face of adversity. – Fascist California Governor Gavin Newsom is being quoted today by The Hill as promising that first reponders “will be the first ones laid off by cities and counties” if congress doesn’t provide a bailout for blue states like California that have been mismanaged by Democrats for decades and now find themselves on the brink of bankruptcy.

There are literally hundreds of budget items in any city or county government that can be cut instead of laying off first responders. But Democrat mayors, city councils and county governments invariably, without fail, resort to laying off law enforcement and firefighters first any time spending must be addressed. They do this for two reasons: 1) because fighting fires and crime are their lowest personal priorities, and 2) in order to make the process of cutting a budget as painful as possible on the community they govern.

In making his promise to The Hill, Newsom is simply following the standard Democrat playbook.

Speaking of thuggish Democrat governors, Fox has a really good report detailing the fact that several of them are now facing a string of lawsuits challenging their clearly unconstitutional orders. Newsom alone is facing at least a dozen such suits.

And it isn’t just Democrat mayors who are being challenged. Buried way down in this piece is a paragraph discussing the fact that Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is threatening to file actions against several big-city Democrat mayors and county judges over their 0wn efforts to enforce public restrictions that exceed those issued by Governor Greg Abbott. Abbott will hold a press conference Monday afternoon outlining his own plans for moving forward, and I’m told he will address this matter during that conference.

Meanwhile, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is coming under fire for his Sunday comments about thousands of elderly citizens dying in his state’s nursing homes.:

“We worked it out so we always had available beds. Nobody was deprived of a bed or medical coverage in any way. And still people died. Still people died. Older people, vulnerable people are going to die from this virus. That is going to happen, despite whatever you do.”

Prior to that passage, Cuomo had defended his decision in March to force his state’s nursing homes to admit infected patients, an action that no doubt resulted in thousands of other elderly patients in those homes contracting COVID-19 and dying. In defending his decision, Cuomo said no one is to blame, and “no one should go to jail” for having caused those deaths.

How to react to this? Well, first, try to imagine the uproar you would be hearing today had President Trump issued the order that Cuomo issued. The cacophony would be overwhelming, and we would already have impeachment proceedings taking place in the House of Representatives.

But because Cuomo is a protected Democrat, the corrupt, mainstream media is essentially silent on this matter, and has been for weeks as the scandal has percolated.

But second, note that Cuomo is to some extent correct here. Older people, vulnerable people with underlying health conditions, are most at-risk from this virus, and are going to die from it. Note also that, according to the Dept. of Health and Human Services, the average remaining life span of an elderly person admitted into a nursing home in this country is a stunning 5 months. Thus, many of the thousands of New York nursing home residents whose deaths have counted as COVID-19 would have died in any event, and a high percentage of them really died from another cause.

That having been said, all of that reality ultimately condemn’s Cuomo’s approach to the matter. The proper response to this virus in the first place would have been to focus resources on protecting nursing home patients and others among the most vulnerable. That’s what governors like Florida’s Ron DeSantis and other Republicans did, and their states have not experienced anything like the problems in nursing homes that New York has seen.

Instead, Cuomo shut down his entire state, depriving millions of jobs and shutting down hundreds of thousands of businesses that will never come back. Even worse, he actively ordered infected patients to be embedded among the most vulnerable of all in his state’s nursing homes.

Cuomo’s rationalizations notwithstanding, someone is responsible. If he wants to know who, he should look in a mirror.

That is all.

The Motivations Behind the Fascist Democrat Governors and Mayors

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Today, we’re going to talk about what motivates these budding fascist mayors, county judges and governors, almost all of whom also happen to be Democrats. After all, they aren’t taking the actions they are taking against the unlucky people in their jurisdictions in a vacuum. These are all politicians, and politicians all have pressures that motivate them to act in certain ways.

To set this up, let’s first refer to a great piece over at RedState.com that was referred to me yesterday by a friend. The writer, Mike Ford, goes through many of the facts I’ve written about here regarding how Drs. Fauci, Birx and their disastrously wrong statistical model have basically run our country for the last 3 months, and destroyed our economy in the process. The results have been catastrophic, have essentially destroyed the greatest economy on the face of the earth, and none of it needed to happen.

Here is an excerpt from the summary section of that piece:

Basically, the governors and mayors with the encouragement of the federal government denied the civil rights of broad swaths of the American citizenry. They abridged the right to earn a living on the unproven chance that it might save a stranger’s life. What’s worse, it wasn’t like we demanded that all of America make this sacrifice. No. We actually forced the weakest (financially) among us to carry this load. Interestingly, I find anecdotally that the folks most interested in keeping this shutdown in place until we are “perfectly safe,” aren’t the hourly wage, service industry workers who have been forced to shoulder almost this entire burden. Nope. It’s the “essential workers,” people whose occupation allows telecommuting, the media, and, of course, folks on government salaries.

Mind you, none of the above was done via legislative action, which might have made it somewhat more palatable. It was all done via executive orders, big and small. As new data comes in, we are seeing that all of this had little-to-no effect on the spread of the virus nor the number of fatalities. We trampled on the Constitution, destroyed our economy, and wrecked the lives of millions of Americans…for nothing. And we aren’t done yet.

[End]

Now, let’s look at the chart below, which was published by England’s Office of National Statistics last week:

No photo description available.

The chart is easy to understand: It shows the average mortality rate per 100,000 by age group. It is the single most compelling piece of information I have seen anywhere about the Wuhan Virus. This chart and this chart alone proves the case Mr. Ford makes in his piece at RedState.

Put simply, this chart conclusively demonstrates that this virus is a disease that kills almost no one under the age of 55. Yes, young people do contract the virus and a handful have died from its effects. Those deaths of young people have of course been massively trumpeted by your corrupt news media as a means of supporting the Democrat goal of keeping the shutdown in place, but they have been few and far between.

This data clearly shows that the intelligent way to have gone about dealing with this virus would have been to ask older people to self-quarantine and to allow anyone under the age of 55 to keep living their lives and more rapidly building a national herd immunity to this plague that will ultimately come about anyway. Had everyone just taken the example of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, whose very first act was to start working to protect elderly folks inside his state’s nursing homes, a huge portion of these deaths would have been avoided.

Instead, our government told tens of millions of young Americans – the vast majority of them in the lower-middle to lower classes in terms of income – that their jobs and businesses were “non-essential” and forced them onto the government dole. And now we have this ruling class of banana republic governors, mayors and county judges doing everything they can, not to reopen their economies and put people back to work, but to extend the pain out for as long as they can get away with.

In my weekly radio appearance with host Gregg Budell on FM 93.1 WACV in Montgomery, AL yesterday, we talked about what it is exactly that motivates these Democrat politicians to act in this way. To understand that, you have to first understand how the Democrat political mind in the 21st century works, which I talked about in yesterday’s Campaign Update, “The Real Reason Why Pelosi Won’t Call the House Back Into Session.”

Here’s an excerpt from that piece:

But Democrats are different – make no mistake about it. They don’t care about people dying or 30 million Americans having been put out of jobs; all they care about is politics. After all, the Wuhan Virus is killing mainly old people, and old people happen to be mostly Republican voters. Democrats like Pelosi and Schumer see this and their only thought is that man, this could really tilt a few congressional races in November if enough old people die in the right districts.

Those 30 million additional unemployed? To your typical Democrat politician, their only thought is that that is one huge target-rich environment of potential Democrat voters. If they can just keep enough of those 30 million on unemployment until November it could be an electoral gold mine.

[End]

Once you understand that and accept it, then you need to look and identify who funds Democrat campaigns in this country today, and the voting constituencies that put them into office in the first place.

Who funds Democrats these days? That’s easy: Billionaires like George Soros, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and the rest of the very wealth, globalist class in this country; the radical environmentalist community; government workers; and labor unions, in that descending order. Make no mistake about it, the Democrat Party – not the GOP as the corrupt media still likes to claim – is the party of the very wealthy, globalist class in this country and their FEC filings clearly prove that fact. The radical environmentalists – the Party’s other major funder – are thrilled to death with all of this economic carnage, since it is what their Green New Deal would implement, anyway, and hey, our carbon footprint is so much lower! Seriously, do not doubt me on this.

So, we know who funds the campaigns; now, let’s look at a few examples of the constituencies these aspiring tinpot dictators are trying to please.

Virginia Governor Ralph “Coonman” Northam is a great and easy example here. Northam governs what is by and large a very rural state that has two major population centers that vote overwhelmingly Democrat: Richmond, and the Alexandria/Arlington metro area. Those rural areas of the state have been barely impacted by this Chinese plague, but they vote overwhelmingly Republican, and Northam couldn’t care less what the people in those counties need or think.

The capital city of Richmond, on the other hand, has two huge Democrat voter blocs: Government workers and folks who were already on the government dole before anyone had ever heard of the Wuhan Virus. The government workers are all still getting paid, so they’re happy to have this extended vacation as long as Gov. Coonman wants to give it to them. The folks who are used to living on the government dole haven’t really been impacted, so what do they care?

The Alexandria/Arlington area is now overrun with federal government workers thanks to the vast expansion of the federal workforce during the Obama years, and they have the same story: They’re all getting paid to “work from home,” which for many means sitting on their butts playing video games, so they’re all fat and happy like the state government workers in Richmond.

Thus, at the end of the day, Northam looks around and sees he still has his cash flow in place, and his voters are all perfectly happy sitting at home doing nothing, so there is no price to be paid for just extending these draconian orders out for as long as possible.

In Michigan, Generalissimo Gretchen Whitmer has much the same motivating factors in place: She’s just trying please her Party’s natural constituencies in cities like Detroit, Lansing and other metro centers.

In Oregon, Governor Kate Brown is just trying to please her natural constituencies that largely lie along the Interstate 5 corridor.

The exact same logic and formula applies in states like New York, New Jersey and California, and even in cities in Red states like Dallas and Houston in Texas, where Democrat County Judges Clay Jenkins and Lina Hidalgo have gone completely mad with power.

This really is the truth, folks. Decades of focusing on identity politics above all other considerations really has completely warped the Democrat mind in our country, and in fact makes that party the single biggest danger to the country’s ultimate survival.

They aren’t motivated by what is best for the country as a whole – that arcane subject never even enters their minds. They are motivated by two things and two things only: Money, and power, and how to obtain and maintain both.

And so, here we are.

That is all.

Gov. Abbott: Texans Can Get a Haircut on Friday! Yee-hah!

The Evening Campaign Update

Yeeee-hah!!!! – In a press conference held Tuesday afternoon, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that a raft of additional businesses are fixin’ to be allowed to reopen on Friday, May 8. Those businesses include barbers, hair salons, cosmetologists and tanning salons. He also announced that gyms will be able to reopen on May 18, albeit at 25% capacity.

Excerpt from a report at the Texas Tribune website:

The businesses will be required to follow certain rules as the state continues to grapple with the coronavirus. Hairstylists will be able to work with only one customer at a time. People waiting in barber shops will have to maintain 6-foot separation or wait outside.

Meanwhile, gyms will be required to operate at a maximum of 25% of capacity. Showers and locker rooms will be closed, and equipment must be disinfected after each use.

Abbott acknowledged people may want to see another type of business reopen — bars — but said the state is still figuring out how they can do so safely and did not offer a timetable.

[End]

Finally, I’ll be able to go get my shaggy head trimmed up!

Of note, Governor Abbott’s announcement comes one day after Virginia Governor Ralph KKK Northam extended his own lockdown order through May 16. It also comes as Democrat governors in California, Michigan and Oregon, and Republicans in Alabama and Ohio are finding themselves under increasing pressure to relent on their own draconian orders.

In California, a city councilman has personally sued Gov. Newsom over his idiotic beach-closing order:

Newport Beach City Councilman Kevin Muldoon personally sued Gov. Gavin Newsom in federal court Monday over Newsom’s beach closures targeting Orange County.

Muldoon, a vocal proponent of lifting the weeks-long lockdown imposed to stem the coronavirus pandemic, filed the suit on his own behalf and was footing his own legal costs, he said. He called Newsom’s directive, handed down Thursday and put into effect the next day, unconstitutional.

Newsom’s order applies only toOrange County. A reopening date is unclear.

“Defendants have shown by their actions a willingness to ignore and to violate the fundamental civil rights of California residents,” the lawsuit reads. “Their actions … are persistent and capable of repetition unless they are enjoined by this court.”

[End]

In Michigan, the Detroit News published an editorial by its editorial board condemning Generalissimo Gretchen Whitmer for her rampant abuse of power and and endorsing the legislature’s decision to file a lawsuit against her:

Whitmer is attempting to assign a noble purpose for her unilateral power grab, saying she needed to continue her emergency powers to protect health care workers from being sued by COVID-19 patients.

But the Legislature Thursday approved a bill that would enshrine that immunity in law, proving lawmakers are capable of working with the governor to protect Michigan.

They had offered to grant her another short-term extension of her powers, with oversight. But she refused to accept any conditions that forced her to collaborate with lawmakers.

The Republican-controlled Legislature Thursday also passed resolutions authorizing the speaker of the House and the Senate majority leader to sue the governor.

That lawsuit should be filed ASAP.

From the beginning of her tenure, Whitmer has show disdain for both the law and regular-order governing, looking for every loophole to avoid dealing with the Legislature.

This time, she’s taken the state to a very dangerous place.

There’s no reasonable defense, in a representative democracy, for a governor to strip the legislative branch of its constitutional authority and assume dictatorial powers in perpetuity.

[End]

In Oregon, radical Alinskyite Governor Kate Brown eased some of her own abusive restrictions after coming under intense pressure in recent days:

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown has announced a limited opening of some state parks, outdoor recreation facilities, and other areas for day use in a partial easing of restrictions put in place because of the coronavirus.

Officials say day-use will slowly return to other state parks starting next week. The popular Columbia River Gorge parks and recreation areas and coastal areas will remain closed for now. Brown says Oregonians should recreate responsibly.

[End]

What all of this is teaching us is something most Texans have known for all of our lives: We are damned lucky to live in the Lone Star State.

Thank you, Governor Abbott, and God Bless Texas.

That is all.

Fascism: Democrat Fascists Double-Down in CA, IL and MI

The Mid-Day Campaign Update

Make no mistake about this: You are now being conditioned by Democrats and their corrupt toadies in the U.S. news media to accept fascism in your lives and to demean anyone who dares protest the irrational, brutish edicts coming down from Democrat governors and mayors as dangerous racists who want to kill you.

Check out this report from California yesterday. There, Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom, who on Friday shut down all of the beaches and state parks in his domain, on Saturday surrounded the state Capitol building with police fully-armored in riot gear to deal with a peaceful assembly of several thousand citizens. As the report linked above points, out, the cops arrested 31 of these protesters, most of them for not observing the Governor’s “social distancing” edicts:

‘Freedom’ protest against coronavirus orders leads to arrests at California Capitol

They came with babies strapped to their chests, flags waving and even a speedboat parked at the curb to symbolize California’s closed beaches.

Hundreds of people — likely more than 1,000 — crowded around the California State Capitol on Friday to protest Gov. Gavin Newsom’s social distancing orders amid a pandemic that has now killed more than 2,000 Californians.

With nary a mask in sight, protesters called Newsom a tyrant and showed their support for President Trump, evidenced by Trump 2020 gear everywhere, including for sale. But despite the president’s back-and-forth support of social distancing, most were quick to absolve him of their anger over current conditions in the Golden State.

Susan Dorrity, a retired mortgage broker from Modesto, said the president was smart to leave decisions about closures to governors.

[End]

So, right there in the first 4 paragraphs, your corrupt media treats you to a slanted headline that sneers at the word “freedom,” implies that the protesters are responsible for the 2,000 dead in California due to the Wuhan Virus, and smears the President of the United States. All that and more, in about 100 words. That’s very efficient brainwashing right there.

So, ‘freedom’ is not only bad, it’s deadly, and anyone who blames the situation in California on the Governor and his abusive edicts and not the President needs to be retrained. Got it?

As the guys at The Conservative Treehouse reported, the police who spent their day enforcing the Governor’s social distancing edict then went to the nearest officially-closed-by-edict public park and did this:

Oh.

Meanwhile, over at CNN… – Despicable hack Jake Tapper had Michigan’s aspiring South American banana republic strong woman, Generalissimo Gretchen Whitmer, on his Democrat talking point program Sunday morning. During the course of the interview, Tapper of course lobbed a leading question that encouraged Herr Gretchen to smear all of the thousands of protesters in her state as being racists and worse, and comparing them neo-Nazi groups. Because of course he did.

Herr Gretchen, plastic smile firmly implanted on plastic face, did not miss her cue, and this ensued:

Tapper: These protests came after President Trump tweeted (they actually started weeks before the President ever said anything about them) ‘liberate Michigan,’ he tweeted “the Governor of Michigan should give a little, put out the fire,” uh, he said that these are “very good people” about the protesters, to which the executive director of the Jewish Democratic Council of America compared those comments to president Trump’s referring to those marching a long neo-Nazis in Charlottesville as “very fine people.”

Is that how you see these protesters? In that vein, that extreme?

Herr Gretchen: Some of the outrageousness that happened at our capitol this week, you know, depicted some of the worst racism and awful parts of our history in this country. You know, the confederate flags and nooses, the swastikas, the, um, you know, or behavior that you have seen in all of the clips is not representative of who we are in Michigan.

And the fact of the matter is, you know, we’re in a global pandemic. This isn’t something we just negotiate ourselves out of as a political matter. This is a public health crisis that has taken the lives of almost 70,000 Americans, has put 30 million people into unemployment. We’ve lost in the last 24 hours almost the same number of Americans that were killed on 9/11, and that’s just in the last 24 hours.

We need to listen to the expertise in our institutions of higher learning and our health system and make decisions that are going to protect the lives of everyone. Whether you agree with me or not, I’m working to protect your life if you live in the state of Michigan. I’m gonna continue to do my job regardless of what tweets come out or what polls come out or what people think that is, you know, makes sense. We’re gonna listen to facts and science because we’ve got to get this right.

[End]

Ok, so, here are the key messages in that exchange:

– These protesters are all Nazis, racists, and you know, like, Hitler or something;

– The President is also a Nazi racist who is, you know, just like Hitler or something;

– Because science;

– Herr Gretchen is relying professors – you know, the same professors who brainwash your kids in our colleges are helping me brain wash you now;

– She’s in charge because she says so.

I think that about covers it.

Does this guy look or sound like a Nazi to you?

If he does, you are the one who needs re-training.

Meanwhile, in Chicago, heavy-handed Mayor Lori Lightfoot is spending her time harassing kids trying to play basketball, with an entourage that is not observing their own social distancing rules:

You could never make this stuff up, folks. Never in a million, billion, gazillion years.

Remember, Citizens! We are all in this together apart so long as you obey the orders of your superiors. If you disobey those orders and peaceably assemble to advocate for your dangerous constitutional freedoms, we are no longer all in this together apart, and you will be smeared and taken to jail.

Citizens! Be good citizens!

That is all, comrades.

The Disturbing, Growing Rift Between Free States and Prison States

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

So, I’m sitting here on a Saturday morning contemplating the fact that our country is now at a point at which it has become normal for talking heads on TV and print commentators to talk about “free states” and “prison” or “lockdown states”. I did it myself in a piece the other day without even thinking about it.

At any other time in the last 150 years, this kind of discourse would have been shocking, but today it is part of the “new normal” that aspiring despots like Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer now talk about, echoing the kind of language Barack Obama used during his term to convince people to accept his own efforts to regulate every aspect of their daily lives.

It’s easy to tell which states are “free” or becoming more free, anyway, and which states are “prisons”: The Free States have Republican governors, and the Prison states, with a few exceptions like Ohio, are run by Democrats like Whitmer. This dichotomy between the governance by the two parties in this national emergency over a virus with a mortality rate well below 1% becomes increasingly stark with every passing week.

Friday, May 1 was a great example. In Texas, GOP Governor Greg Abbott moved to reopen a vast swath of businesses (with limited capacity restraints), state parks and the beaches along the Gulf Coast. On the very same day, Democrat California Governor Gavin Newsom moved to close all state parks and beaches. As a result, free Texans flocked to local shopping malls or to reopened restaurants to enjoy their first meal out in six weeks, while thousands of imprisoned Californians staged a massive protest in the city of Huntington Beach:

Think about the brutish stupidity of that beach closing order: Given that we now know that heat and sunlight kill this virus, what better place for Southern Californians to spend time than on the damn beach? But Governor Newsom, acting on his fascist impulses, shuts the beaches down because he was personally “disturbed” by video of people enjoying a day in the sun earlier in the week.

Americans all over the country have clearly shown that they are willing to cooperate with restrictions to their freedoms that make sense in fighting the spread of this virus. But irrational nonsense like this and Gov. Whitmer’s ban on motor boats has got to stop.

If these Democrat governors do not begin to relent soon, and stop treating the rural residents of their states as if they all live in densely-populated Manhattan, the peaceful protests we have witnessed all over the country in the past few weeks will begin to turn more aggressive, possibly even violent. This is not something I’m encouraging: It’s simply an inevitable outcome of dictatorial governors insisting on continuing to deny people their constitutional rights.

Make no mistake about this: Each and every one of the lockdown orders issued by Republican and Democrat governors alike are blatant violations of individual rights. These governors – and various mayors and other local officials – can only maintain these orders so long as they are able to maintain control over their law enforcement agencies to enforce them. Already, we see this level of control beginning to crack.

We saw it in Houston last week, when associations of both Houston police officers and Harris County sheriff’s deputies made it known they would not try to enforce an abusive order made by the idiot county judge there. We saw it in Orange County, CA on Friday, where the sheriff issued a statement informing the public he would not attempt to enforce Gov. Newsom’s beach closing order.

Because, you see, law enforcement officials read the constitution, too, and they promise to uphold it when they are sworn into office. Just because some governor or mayor doesn’t give a damn about individual freedoms does not mean the local police chief or sheriff or head of the state police agency feels the same way.

We know enough about this viral plague brought to us by China and have enough effective treatment regimes in place now to move away from the “flatten the curve” stage to a “protect the vulnerable and treat the sick” stage. Hell, if these governors would just focus on dealing effectively with the nursing homes in their states, that would take care of half the problem. In Texas, the median age of those who have died from this virus is over 80. Let that sink in.

Everyone who has been paying attention and is not just a brain-dead outrage monkey on Twitter can clearly see that the time for these statewide, one-size-fits-all lockdowns has passed. The situation now calls for the aspiring South American junta leaders like Whitmer, Newsom and Ralph KKK Northam to stand down and engage in more thoughtful and intelligent governance, and to stop the systematic violation of the rights of their citizens.

It’s time for there to be no justification or need for any talking head to use the terms “Free state” and “Prison state” anymore. We’re supposed to be the United States, and dichotomies in governance like the ones we see continuing to grow over this virus cannot persist for long before they threaten to become permanent.

GOP States vs. Democrat States: The Differences are Very Clear

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

With Texas Governor Greg Abbott now moving fairly aggressively to reopen Texas and its economy (the 10th largest on earth), the differences in approach between Republican governors and Democrat governors are now becoming increasingly stark.

Abbott now joins Republican governors like Brian Kemp in Georgia, Henry McMaster in South Carolina, Ron DeSantis in Florida, Kristi Noem in South Dakota and Kevin Stitt in Oklahoma in lending a sense of urgency to getting businesses reopened and people back to work, rescinding stay-at-home orders in the process. Noem, along with Republican governors in 6 other states (Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, Utah and Wyoming) in fact never even issued such an order for her state.

Unsurprisingly, not a single Democrat governor showed similar restraint. Democrats literally live for the chance to lord political power over common people, and the Wuhan Virus provided the best such opportunity most of them have ever had to do so. As New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy told Tucker Carlson with a smile on his face recently, he “wasn’t even thinking about the Bill of Rights” when he issued his own order, and there can be little doubt that most, if not all, other Democrat governors also never gave such arcane concepts as individual freedoms a second thought. Drs. Fauci and Birx had advised governors to use their judgment in ordering their people to stay at home, and by God, the judgment of every Democrat was to knee-jerk to such an order.

Today, as Republicans are now rescinding the orders they issued, here are the actions we have seen in recent days from Democrat governors around the country:

Virginia Governor Ralph KKK Coonman Northam – On April 15, he extended his order for the closure of “non-essential” businesses to May 8. On April 23, he extended his ban on “non-essential” surgeries for another week (there sure is a lot of “non-essential” stuff going on in Virginia, huh?). On March 31, he extended his stay-at-home order through June 10. Truly, this a man on a mission.

Michigan’s plastic-faced Strong-Woman Gretchen Whitmer – After earlier extending her stay-at-home order through May 15, announced on Monday that she wants the legislature to step in to further extend it for another 28 days. Whitmer claims to have the power to do this herself (power she has exercised, rightly or wrongly, already on several separate occasions) but after receiving pushback from members of both parties in the legislature, she is now looking for political cover.

California Governor Gavin Newsom – While Newsom has surprisingly performed fairly reasonably during this crisis – with notable exceptions, like getting burned when he purchased thousands of Chinese respirators that don’t work – it is important to note that his own stay-at-home order doesn’t even have a planned expiration date. In mid-April, he rolled out 6 requirements that must be met in order for him to begin rolling that order back. As of today, those requirements have not been met, and aren’t likely to be met anytime soon.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom WolfExtended his stay-at-home order through May 8.

New Jersey Governor Phil MurphyOn Monday announced that his own indefinite stay-at-home order would remain in place “until further notice.” At the same time, he outlined a gradual plan for reopening that hinges almost entirely on the current false media narrative about “more testing.” In other words, he’s really enjoying this exercise of authoritarian power and has no plans to give it up anytime soon.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo – What can you say about this guy? His feckless lack of leadership and preparation have been largely responsible for this outbreak across the United States, and the media-directed national panic that led to so many needless draconian restrictions across the country, as governors of both parties failed to realize that their states were not like New York, not at all. Cuomo still, to this day, has not shut down the petri dishes on rails that are New York City’s subway cars. To. This. DAY. He got caught short on ventilators because, in 2015, he made the decision to forego buying 15,000 of them at bargain prices, spending the money instead on nebulous “climate change” nonsense. He has utterly and completely failed to protect senior citizens living in the state’s nursing homes, which have been the centers for a huge portion of New York’s massive COVID-19 death toll.

Naturally, Cuomo’s performance in this pandemic has made him a folk hero to the corrupt news media and most Democrat voters, and he is a virtual shoe-in to be re-elected to an unprecedented fourth term in office this November, 2022.

Holy crap.

It’s hard to be optimistic about America’s future when voters keep electing and re-electing Democrats to positions of power. Granted, Republicans aren’t a hell of a lot better, but as we have seen during this epidemic given to us by the ChiComs, they at least exhibit some level of respect for the rights of their citizens, and observe the need to take those into consideration while also taking actions necessary to protect the public.

Where the respective governors of each party are concerned, the contrasts in approach are in fact very stark and unambiguous.

Keep that in mind when you cast your votes in November.

That is all.

The Race to Plan to Re-Open America is Suddenly On

The Evening Campaign Update

Now the race is on
And here comes pride in the backstretch
Heartaches goin’ to the inside
My tears are holdin’ back, they’re tryin’ not to fall

My hearts out of the runnin’
True love’s scratched for another’s sake
The race is on and it looks like heartaches
And the winner loses all

By the great George Jones

Don’t look now, but we suddenly have a competition between the governors of major U.S. states to see who can come up with plans to re-open their economies and schools the fastest. Note that I did not say it is a race actually re-open those things: Just a race to create plans and thus assume control of the process.

And it isn’t just the governors competing among themselves: The President also got involved on Monday in staking out his own turf.

Here is where the race has gone thus far:

– I wrote on Friday evening about Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s plan to issue an executive order this week laying out his vision for a process to re-open the businesses and schools in the Lone Star State;

– On Monday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo was joined by the governors of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Rhode Island and Connecticut in announcing a regional effort to coordinate the re-openings of their economies and schools;

– Also on Monday, California Governor Gavin Newsom said that he is coordinating a similar regional re-opening strategy with the Democrat governors of Oregon and Washington.

Suddenly, the race is on, and you can  rest assured that President Donald J. Trump is not going to be left behind. The President also took action on Monday, formally naming the members of his Re-Opening America Task Force. As reported by Fox News, those members are:

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, Agriculture Secretary Sonny Purdue, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette, Labor Secretary Gene Scalia, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson, U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, and acting director of the Office of Management and Budget Russ Vought.

The task force is also expected to include acting chair of the Council of Economic Advisors Tom Philipson and White House advisers Larry Kudlow, Peter Navarro, Chris Liddell, Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump.

The President also let the various Governors know that he believes he and his advisors will be the ultimate authorities over the process of re-opening the country, sending out the following tweets:

Naturally, in response to those two tweets by the President, all the same liberals and corrupt reporters who have spent the last 2 months attempting to hold Mr. Trump responsible for every failure by every state governor suddenly have become fans of federalism! Funny how that works, huh?

Of course, the most salient point in the President’s tweets is the final sentence: “A decision by me, in conjunction with the Governors and input from others, will be made shortly!”

What this means is that the Governors can and should be doing all the appropriate planning they want to do with their states, but the decision about whether and when to modify and/or lift the federal planning guidelines that all 50 states are currently functioning under – given that every one of them is, for the first time in U.S. history, benefiting from a federal disaster declaration – will be made by the President of the United States as required by law.

[UPDATE: Vice President Pence reinforced the fact that the President does have almost unlimited powers when the country is functioning under a 50-state declared national emergency at tonight’s Task Force press conference.]

Thus, the race between the governors to see who can come up with a plan the fastest is on, but the guy with the starter’s pistol to be used to actually begin the re-opening of America lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Because America.

That is all.

Madness: Chinese Airlines Will Resume Flights to Locked-Down California

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

“What in the wide, wide world of sports is a-goin’ on here?” – Thursday evening, depraved Democrat California Governor Gavin Newsom put his entire state population under a lockdown order:

Other than New York’s Andrew Cuomo, Newsom has been the nation’s most aggressive governor in using draconian tactics to control his population during this crisis. It’s important to note that his crisis was caused and greatly exacerbated by 10,000 Chinese citizens per day flowing into this country during December and January while Chinese communist government officials lied to the world about the extent of the outbreak in Wuhan province. The vast majority of those 10,000 Chinese citizens arrived on jumbo jets flying from China to destinations on the West and East coasts of America.

Luckly, President Donald Trump acted quickly to end that madness, issuing a travel ban by Chinese citizens to the U.S. on January 31, likely saving thousands of American lives in the process. It’s also important to note that Trump was roundly demonized by Democrat politicians like Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders for taking that crucial action. There is no question that no Democrat president would have made this decision to save American lives.

I go through all of this today because of a new report by the San Francisco Chronicle that Chinese airlines are suddenly planning to resume flights from mainland China to California as soon as March 28, just six days from now.

From that piece:

While most U.S. airlines are cutting flights to historically low numbers because of the coronavirus pandemic, three mainland Chinese carriers plan to resume non-stop flights to San Francisco International Airport this month, a move SFO officials said “marks a hopeful change in direction.”

The resumption of flights is one of several early signs that the worst could be over in China, meaning the crisis will eventually come to an end here, too.

China Eastern will resume a daily non-stop flight this month between its hub in Shanghai and San Francisco using a Boeing 777-300ER jet. Flights are expected to start on Saturday, March 28.

[End]

Huh? Beg pardon? Say what????

What dark madness is this? We have a state whose population is in full lockdown thanks to a virus imported from China now planning to welcome new flights from China with open arms?

Later in the piece, we get information that is somewhat comforting:

Foreign nationals who have been in mainland China for the last 14 days are banned from entering the United States. U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents are allowed to return home, but must quarantine for 14 days after their arrival.

So who might book these flights? Undoubtedly, it will be the people who urgently need to travel intercontinentally.

Perhaps it’s the Americans who have been in China for the past two months — there are many who split their time between family in the mainland and Northern California — or the foreign nationals here on the West Coast who have been unable to return home until now.

And of course, those big jets have big cargo holds, and there is plenty of pent-up demand for U.S. and Chinese products on both sides of the Pacific.

All three airlines are majority owned by the Chinese government (Air China is the national flag carrier), so operating these flights at near-empty loads and at a financial loss should not be much of a concern for each carrier. The likelihood is these flights will be mostly empty, and that’s okay when you have the deep pockets of the Chinese government to finance these flights.

[End]

Thus, the provisions of the Trump travel ban remain in place related to Chinese nationals and others.

No question there is pent-up demand for goods from China, but that demand only further points to the madness that the U.S., thanks to 28 years of globalist administrations prior to Trump’s taking office, allowed our country to become insanely dependent on China for the supply chains related to a vast array of critical products.

The very fact that our own government is even contemplating allowing flights from China to California to resume while the California population is being told to shelter in place is a special kind of madness of its own. And it needs to end.

This crisis is a golden opportunity for President Trump to force any U.S. corporation that will be receiving bailout funds to move their entire supply chains and the jobs associated with them back to America. Period.

Don’t let this crisis go to waste, Mr. President. End this madness.

That is all.

Trump Cancels California Rail Boondoggle Funding

Today’s Campaign Update, Part III
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

In a move that is certain to enrage the perpetually-enraged political left and our fake news media, the Trump Administration today moved to rescind a portion of the $3.5 billion in federal funds previously dedicated to California’s disastrous high-speed rail boondoggle.  In a letter to Brian Kelly, Director of the California High-Speed Rail Authority, Federal Railroad Administration Director Ronald Batory had this to say:

“This letter provides notice to the California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) that the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) intends to terminate Cooperative Agreement No. FR HSR-0118-12-01-01 (Agreement) effective March 5, 2019. Following termination, FRA also intends to promptly de-obligate the full $928,620,000 obligated under the Agreement.

FRA has determined that CHSRA has materially failed to comply with the terms of the Agreement and has failed to make reasonable progress on the Project (as defined in the Agreement), significantly endangering substantial performance . Considering this determination, FRA intends to exercise its right to terminate the Agreement, consistent with Section 23 of the Agreement.”

A link to the full document can be found here, but you get the drift.

In a February 19 tweet, President Trump made it clear, when California Governor Gavin Newsom canceled 2/3rds of the planned project, that he intends to rescind the entire $3.5 billion:

California has been forced to cancel the massive bullet train project after having spent and wasted many billions of dollars. They owe the Federal Government three and a half billion dollars. We want that money back now. Whole project is a “green” disaster!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 14, 2019

Newsom responded to the threat in typical haughty fashion with a tweet of his own:

Fake news. We’re building high-speed rail, connecting the Central Valley and beyond. This is CA’s money, allocated by Congress for this project. We’re not giving it back. The train is leaving the station — better get on board! (Also, desperately searching for some wall $$??) https://t.co/9hxEfEX8Vm

— Gavin Newsom (@GavinNewsom) February 14, 2019

Well, the ball is now in the Governor’s court. We can be sure the wailing will be loud, dishonest and totally coordinated with our fake news media. Because that’s how Democrats operate in America today.

Gavin Newsom Blows Green Wet Dreams to Smithereens

The Evening Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

This afternoon, California Governor Gavin Newsom kicked Jerry Brown’s great high-speed rail boondoggle to the sidelines, announcing a major scaling-back of the $100 billion Bankruptcy Express:

“Let’s level about the high-speed rail,” Newsom said. “Let’s be real, the current project as planned would cost too much and, respectfully, take too long. Right now, there simply isn’t a path to get from Sacramento to San Diego, let alone from San Francisco to L.A. I wish there were.”

Oh.

But wait – what about this “Green New Deal”, and its pipedream promise to “build out high-speed rail at a scale where air travel stops becoming necessary”? If we can’t build a single such line from “Sacramento to San Diego, let alone from San Francisco to L.A.”, what then of Alexandria Ocasio Cortez’s grand plans to connect apparently every significant city, town, village and dot-on-the-map with such lines in 10 short years?

The answer is obvious to anyone whose cranial synapses are firing, which apparently excludes all elected Democrats and everyone working at a major fake news media outlet like CNN.

It is important to remember that, about a decade ago, the initial estimated cost for Jerry Brown’s Boondoggle came in at $29 billion. As the years dragged on the estimates of course rose – as happens with any big-government socialist land grab. As Newsom pulls the plug on about 2/3rds of the thing, the current cost estimates are now in the $100 billion range and rising every day.

So when you see some talking head “expert” tossing out a Green New Deal cost of $40 trillion in today’s dollars, just remember that a decade from now that number will almost certainly have climbed well to the north of $120 trillion or so.

Gov. Newsom is a far, far leftist himself, and certainly didn’t mean to do it, but his announcement today well and truly put the leftist, fake green lie to any rational thoughts that AOC’s “Green New Deal” might ever be doable.

To quote Shakespeare, “It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”

That is all.
