Tuesday News Roundup: Kyrsten Sinema Might Save the Republic; NYTimes Goes Low on Pipelines

Fun Energy Fact of the Day. – Amy Harder at Axios reported yesterday that “Oil, natural gas and coal accounted for 81% of the world’s energy consumption in 1990. Thirty years later — in 2020 — that figure dropped to 80%, mainly because of the pandemic, according to the International Energy Agency.”

Remember also that that unchanged percentage comes after many trillions of dollars have been invested in capital and subsidies for wind and solar development globally.

Axios didn’t report this, but it is a reality that, 30 years from now, in 2050, most truly scholarly projections on global energy consumption see that percentage remaining largely unchanged. Though wind, solar and other alternative energy sources will continue to be subsidized with more and more trillions, they won’t be scalable enough to account for just the growth in energy demand over the next 30 years, much less start to displace the role fossil fuels and nuclear will continue to play in the world’s energy supply.

That’s reality. What you see in the corrupt news media and coming from politicians and the Global Church of Climate Change every day is fantasy.

This concludes your Fun Energy Fact of the Day.

Why bother cancelling the Keystone XL Pipeline when you can just blow it up? – That’s the question recently advocated by The New York Times. Not kidding.

To advance that idea, the Times recently provided its readers with a glowing review of a book titled “HOW TO BLOW UP A PIPELINE” by someone named Andreas Malm. I swear I do not make this stuff – who could?

Here’s an excerpt from that book review:

“To say that the signals have fallen on the deaf ears of the ruling classes of this world would be an understatement. If these classes ever had any senses, they have lost them all,” writes Malm, a Swedish professor of human ecology and climate change activist, in his compelling but frustrating treatise.

A proportionate and rational response, Malm argues, should be to target fossil fuel infrastructure: Destroy fences around a power plant; occupy pipeline routes, as protesters did for the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines; at coal mines or similar sites, set up climate camps, which Malm believes are effective as laboratories for activism and for shutting things down by putting bodies on the line.

He also advocates powerfully against despair and powerlessness. One of the most satisfying parts of his book comes when he brutally dispatches with “climate fatalists” like Jonathan Franzen, who argue that we should all just give up. “Climate fatalism is for those on top,” Malm writes. “Its sole contribution is spoilage.”

So Malm wants us to fight back (though I should add that there aren’t any actual instructions here about how to blow anything up).

Don’t blow me up, folks, I’m just the messenger.

Every time you get to thinking our corrupt, Nazi-style news media could not possibly get any worse than it already is, they go and prove you wrong.

Democrat definition of “Unity”: “You shut up and conform to my way of thinking.”

*sigh*

In Texas, this is what we call a smelly fresh load of horse manure:

Speaking of things you just could not ever make up if it wasn’t already reality… – Check this out:

That’s right: Anthony Fauci, the little menace to American society who has outright admitted to repeatedly lying to the American people in order to manipulate their behavior and government policy throughout this COVID-19 pandemic, is in fact the single most highly-compensated employee of the federal government.

From the story at JustTheNews.com:

Germs pay.

Dr. Anthony Fauci made $417,608 in 2019, according to Open the Books, a government watchdog group.

The annual salary for Fauci, director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Disease, makes the highest paid doctor in the federal government and the highest paid out of all 4 million federal employees,” Forbes reported.

In fact, Fauci’s salary is more than the president of the United States’ annual $400,000 pay.

Fauci, now President Biden’s chief medical adviser, will make $2.5 million if he keeps his government job through 2024, which marks the end of the administration’s first term. The projected income does not factor in raises.

Forbes also reports Fauci made $3.6 million from 2010 to 2019. Since 2014, His pay increased from $335,000 to the current $417,608.

[End]

Holy crap.

Can Kyrsten Sinema save the Republic? – I know that sounds like just the most absurd question you’ve ever seen posed in your entire life, but bear with me here.

As we all know, one of the main goals of the radical left that forms the vast majority of the Democrat voter base now is to eliminate the senate filibuster, a move they consider to be the key facilitator to allow the passage of their full Marxist/fascist agenda into law. With a 50/50 split in Senate membership, the end of the filibuster would mean that Kamala Harris could provide the tie-breaking votes on all manner of radical legislation designed to destroy the very fabric of our nation and turn it into the collective utopia the deranged nitwits on the left have always dreamed of.

Flaccid West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin has already said he does not support ending the filibuster, but we have seen so many times that he holds no firm positions that Chuck Schumer cannot bully him into changing. Besides, a single Democrat dissenter can easily be offset by a RINO tag-team consisting of Mitt Romney, Susan Collins or Lisa Murkowski on any given issue. Thus, Manchin’s tenuous posturing becomes essentially meaningless.

But yesterday, Manchin got himself a dancing partner in the Senior Senator from Arizona, Sen. Sinema. When the hacks at the Washington Post inquired about the Senator’s position on the filibuster, her spokesperson firmly replied “Kyrsten is against eliminating the filibuster, and she is not open to changing her mind about eliminating the filibuster.”

From a story at The Daily Caller:

Democratic Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema will not support eliminating the filibuster and her mind cannot be changed, according to a spokesperson.

As Democrats now control the House, Senate and White House, there has been discussion about possibly voting to eliminate the filibuster. Abolishing the filibuster would allow any legislation to pass with a simple majority. With Sinema coming out against abolishing the filibuster, it makes it highly unlikely it could happen, as Democratic West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin has also said he will not vote to do so.

“Kyrsten is against eliminating the filibuster, and she is not open to changing her mind about eliminating the filibuster,” a spokesperson for Sinema told the Washington Post on Monday.

[End]

Now, pessimists will no doubt contend that Sinema’s a Democrat, and all Democrat politicians are inveterate liars, a contention this is manifestly true. Democrat politicians have no choice but to lie on most issues since their positions on them have zero basis in truth, data or reality.

But Senator Sinema repeatedly proven to be a different kind of Democrat to some extent, and has become a sort of Tulsi Gabbard of the Senate, a leftwing Democrat who actually still loves the country and holds respect for its institutions, the rarest of rare animals in Washington, DC.

Who knows if Sinema will hold firm on her stance in the face will no doubt be a campaign of threats and intimidation to come from Chuck Schumer and the party’s lunatic leftist base. But this one bears watching and if she does continue to resist pressure, having support from a colleague might help Manchin grow a bit of a spine on the matter as well.

All we can do is hope.

That is all.

Life Will Come at America Very Fast if Biden Wins in November

Will 2021 be 1984? – That’s the question the great Victor Davis Hanson asks in his new piece at American Greatness this morning. Addressing the possibility that the hard left could actually win this year’s election by having AOC and Bernie Sanders serving as the puppeteers pulling the strings of a dementia-afflicted Joe Biden, Hanson takes the reader on a tour of what an America under far leftism would look like very rapidly after Biden’s figurative inauguration.

One of the most compelling passages is Hanson’s likely-accurate vision of how the leftist thugs would hound Biden from office shortly after he assumed it:

If Joe Biden is elected, the effort to remove him by those now supporting him will begin the day after the election and it will not be as crude as rounding up a Yale psychiatrist to testify to his dementia in Congress or shaming the White House physician to give him the Montreal Cognitive Assessment Test in the manner that the Left went after Donald Trump.

It will be far more insidious and successful: leaked stories to the New York Times and Washington Post from empathetic White House insiders will speak of how “heroically” Biden is fighting his inevitable decline—and how gamely he tries to marshal his progressive forces even as his faculties desert him. We would read about why Biden is a national treasure by sacrificing his health to get elected and then nobly bowing out as he realized the cost of his sacrifice on his person and family.

[End]

Can anyone doubt this would be the exact scenario of putting the puppet out to pasture? Look at how the radical leftist Obama holdovers and disloyal RINOs have used constant strategic leaks as a way to damage the Trump presidency, all done without any regard whatsoever of the damage being done to our society in the process. Of course they would do it this way.

Another passage that those of the Jewish faith should all read and take very seriously is this one:

What should we expect then if Biden wins and either steps down or more or less is left as a diminished figurehead controlled by the hard Left?

First, there is one theme that unites “the Squad,” Black Lives Matter, the globalist technocracy, and the international Left: unapologetic anti-Semitism. We will see overt anti-Semitism in a way this country has not seen since the early 20th century, all couched in ideological and politically correct attacks on “Zionists” and “the rich” and “Wall Street”—and why Israel has no business being a “Jewish state.”

It has already begun with an NFL player voicing Hitlerian tropes and praising Louis Farrakhan, and then being seconded by an array of rappers, woke Black Lives Matter activists and “Free Palestine” demonstrations. To smear “the Jews” no longer is grounds for an immediate and expected apology, but more “So what are you going to do about it?” Anti-Semitism is deeply embedded within the DNA of the BLM movement—and professional sports as well, as we saw recently from the warnings of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Charles Barkley.

[End]

The Jewish vote has traditionally heavily favored the Democrat Party in the U.S. throughout its history. The reasons for this have always been and remain a complete mystery, especially since the elevation of the rabidly anti-Israel Barack Obama to the presidency in 2009. Jewish leaders in America have stood mute in the face of the brutish Antisemitism being put on display by the leaders of Antifa and BLM. They had better find their voices soon.

Here’s the thing about all of this, folks: Revolutions do not take place gradually. They happen very quickly and brutally. Yes, the Democrat Party has been incrementally instituting socialist policies in our government for the past 100 years, with all the attendant social and economic damage such policies inevitably bring with them. But what we face today from the radical base of the Democrat Party is not mere economic socialism. This is a brutish Marxism fueled by the brainwashing of two generations of college students by the pushers of critical theory on our college campuses and supported by a corrupt news media establishment that is now domination by those true believers.

This reality was illustrated clearly this past week by the flushing of Bari Weiss and Andrew Sullivan from the raw sewage cultures now dominant at the New York Times and New York Magazine. Those events make it crystal clear to anyone paying attention that to today’s revolutionaries, being a mere liberal thinker is not enough: If you do not fully buy into the critical theory teachings that all Jews, all Christians and indeed, all white people are in fact evil beings, then you must be shunned and expelled. Or even worse, should the true believers ever assume the levers of control and power.

In past election that involved leftist radicals like Obama and the Pantsuit Princess, loyal Americans always had the reassurance that the legislative process moves very slowly at the federal level. So long as the GOP controlled at least 41 seats in the Senate, it could use the filibuster as a tool to stop the Democrats’ most radical and violent impulses.

In case you missed it, last week Joe Biden promised to support ending the filibuster should the Democrats take over the senate. The filibuster is merely a senate rule, and can be repealed with a simple majority vote of 50 Democrat senators plus whatever radical Biden chooses to be his vice presidential running mate. So, Chuck Schumer would not even need an actual majority to achieve this goal, which would open the floodgates to all of the economy-and-society-destroying dreams of Bernie and AOC.

Life comes at you fast, folks. If the November elections go the wrong way, it could come at you in a flood like America has never seen before.

Go read Mr. Hanson’s full piece, and take it to heart. Then, share it with everyone you know.

That is all.
