Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)
Well, this was inevitable, wasn’t it? – As the Wuhan Virus outbreak pretty clearly hit the top of the curve and began to turn over late in the week, the corrupt hacks at CNN led the media/Democrat effort to now begin revising history. That requires a new narrative, and the new narrative, kicked off on Jake Tapper’s Sunday show, is that “lives could have been saved had the evil Trump just acted sooner.”
Making things easier for Tapper and other corrupt Democrat media toadies to concoct the new narrative is Dr. Anthony Fauci, who is more than willing to cooperate in a smear effort in order to cover his own behind. Unfortunately for Fauci, as you will see in the dueling clips below, his remarks to Tapper on Sunday directly contradict the advice he was giving both the President and the public as late as February 29, a full month after President Trump took the major step of banning non-essential travel into the U.S. from China and other countries:

Fauci on Feb. 29: “Right now, at this moment, there is no need to change anything you’re doing on a day-by-day basis. Right now the risk is still low. But this could change. I’ve said that many times even on this program. You’ve got to watch out, because although the risk is low now, you don’t need to change anything you’re doing. When you start to see community spread, this could change.”
The big controversy this morning is that President Trump, in one of his periodic re-tweeting frenzies, re-tweeted a message that ended with this hashtag: “#FireFauci”:
Sorry Fake News, it’s all on tape. I banned China long before people spoke up. Thank you @OANN https://t.co/d40JQkUZg5
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 12, 2020
Of course, what the President means by “it’s all on tape” is Fauci’s comments from February 29 and other media appearances that took place long after Trump began to implement major actions to fight the Wuhan Virus. And it isn’t just Fauci who is “on tape”: We have video clips of Nancy Pelosi telling folks in San Francisco’s China Town on Feb. 24 not to worry, to just go out and have a great time. We have clips of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio participating in Chinese New Year celebrations in late February and talking about not cancelling the massive annual St. Patrick’s Day parade as late as March 13. And we wonder why New York City has been the epicenter of the national outbreak?
Here’s de Blasio on March 10:

Here’s Pelosi in February 24:
True. While President Trump was assembling at Corona task force & being called racist for shutting down flights from China, Here is Nancy Pelosi telling everyone to stop being so racist & come join the crowds in China Town

There are myriad other clips of Democrats and Fauci (but I repeat myself) all over Twitter and other social media today urging people to go out and live their lives like nothing was happening weeks after President Trump stood up his White House Coronavirus Task Force and began to take sweeping actions to protect the public. This is not 1918, when Lenin and Stalin could just have their people go into the libraries and change history by burning all the inconvenient books: People who have been paying close attention know what reality is here, and that won’t change. The objective truth is what it is, much as CNN and Jake Tapper would like to ignore it.
Thus, this narrative, like all the previous Democrat/media hoax narratives attacking President Trump, will fail, although the brainwashed people who still get their news from CNN will be able to maintain their perpetual outrage posture against the POTUS.
Does President Trump actually intend to #FireFauci, as the tweet he re-tweeted advocates? No, not much chance of that, although he no doubt weeks ago realized that the Fauci Agenda (a great name for a Robert Ludlum novel, huh?) did not comport with the agenda of the Trump Administration or the American people. Trump loves having a foil, and whether he intends to be or not, Fauci is about to become the foil as the President this week names his Reopening America task force and moves to gradually restart the economy.
If it is wise to “keep your friends close and your enemies closer,” then Fauci is right where the President wants him to be. Experts in a situation such as this should be there to give advice and otherwise let the elected officials do the talking. To her great credit, Dr. Deborah Birx has largely stuck closely to this model. The attention-hog Fauci hasn’t.
Fauci won’t be fired for Sunday’s latest mouth-shooting betrayal of the President, but he is about to find his advice carrying less and less weight in the days and weeks to come as Trump begins to put America back to work.
That is all.
