Stacey Abrams is Not a Thing; Stop Trying to Make Her a Thing

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Seriously, Democrats, just stop it. Nobody outside of your little thought-free bubble wants any more of Georgia gubernatorial looooooser Stacey Abrams than we’ve already seen. Asking for more Stacey Abrams is like that great old SNL skit where Christopher Walken keeps asking for “more cowbell!” Note to Democrats: Ain’t nobody got a fever whose cure is more Stacey Abrams.

And please, somebody tell Samuel L. Jackson that for me, ok? Here was Mr. Jackson on Stephen Colbert’s show Monday night, expressing his disappointment with the current Democrat field of candidates, and longing for the Georgia loooooser to get into the race (at the 4:41 mark of this clip):

Just to remind everyone: Stacey Abrams is a rank mediocrity. She has never won an election above the level of state representative. She got her butt kicked in last year’s gubernatorial election despite massive amounts of out-of-state money coming into her campaign, despite Oprah Winfrey and Hillary Clinton and gobs of other party luminaries campaigning on her behalf, and despite a massive voter fraud effort in support of her cause.

Despite all of that, she managed to lose the race by 56,000 votes. Undeterred by reality, she has spent the 7 months since her defeat traveling around the country pretending she was somehow robbed, and getting fellow delusional liars like the Pantsuit Princess and Creepy Uncle Joe to support that false premise. The Democrat National Committee weighed in on her behalf by having her give the response to President Trump’s State of the Union Address, and she responded with a very pedestrian reciting of all the standard Democrat talking points like any good little goose-stepping soldier would.

Ok, she didn’t goose-step, but wouldn’t that be fun to watch? Is that mean? I don’t care.

The simple fact of the matter here is that Stacey Abrams is not a thing for 99% of ordinary Americans. No one out here in Flyover Country spends a moment of their day longing for the day when the Georgia looooser gets into the presidential race.

The ongoing effort by prominent Democrats to turn Abrams into a hot commodity reminds me of the similar effort during 2017-18 to do the same with Chelsea Clinton.

How did that effort work? Here we sit in the middle of 2019, and Chelsea Clinton is still not a thing, and never will be, and everyone appears to have given up on trying to make her a thing.

Just as we don’t need more cowbell, and we don’t need more Chelsea Clinton, we most certainly do not need more Stacey Abrams.

Stop trying to make her a thing.

That is all.

Quick, Someone Get These Democrats A Self-Awareness Coach!

The Afternoon Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

It’s such a busy day that I thought I’d do some quick takes on the passing scene…

My take on the Academy Awards – Every Oscar went to some guy or woman I’ve never heard of for a movie I haven’t seen and won’t see in the future.

Oh wait: I have heard of Spike Lee, but after his childish display of petulance last night, I wish I hadn’t.

The lack of self-awareness is strong in this one… – Chelsea Clinton complains that her grandmother did not have access to Planned Parenthood.

Oh, my. Which grandmother was she talking about?  Grandmother Rodham, or Grandmother Clint…er, Hubb…er, never mind.

Speaking of lack of self-awareness, it’s a damn shame her parents didn’t possess such foresight. – Alexandria “The Boss” Ocasio-Cortez now says that today’s parents should not have any more kids because of, like, climate change and stuff, and there’s, like, this sort of “scientific consensus” that their lives will be hard, or something.

“Our planet is going to hit disaster if we don’t turn this ship around and so it’s basically like, there’s a scientific consensus that the lives of children are going to be very difficult,” Ocasio-Cortez said while chopping up food in her kitchen during an Instagram live video. “And it does lead, I think, young people to have a legitimate question, you know, ‘Is it okay to still have children?'”

For the record, the “scientific consensus” is that children born today will experience a lower percentage of poverty, lower percentage of hunger and disease and deprivation, and a higher standard of living and longer life expectancy than all prior generations of human beings.

But “The Boss” has her dogmatic fantasies, and as I pointed out this morning, confusing her with things like facts and truth and reality is a fool’s errand.

Why, that’s exactly how tens of millions of Americans feel about Harry Reid! – Harry Reid to CNN this morning:  “Is there anything I think the President Trump is doing right? I just have trouble accepting him as a person and so frankly I don’t see anything he’s doing right.”

By the way, after President Trump punched back at Reid’s taunt, the fake news media bashed Trump because Harry Reid has cancer.

You seriously cannot make this stuff up. Can someone please get these Democrats a self-awareness coach, STAT?

“…now let me tell you about all of these overtly-socialist policy ideas I support, starting with the Green New Deal…” – Here’s what Kamala Harris told a CNN interviewer this morning: “I certainly think that we should all want that our leaders do not engage in name-calling because that’s really just a very low-level of discourse,” says KamalaHarris. “I’m a progressive Democrat. I am a Democrat, I’m a proud Democrat. I’m not a socialist.”  Yeah, sure, uh-huh, right, you betcha.

*sigh*

She’ll just take all that cash behind closed doors. – Also from the news-fakers at CNN – so take it for what it is worth – Fauxcahontas is now ordering her staffers to be quiet about taking money from wealthy donors: “Sen. Elizabeth Warren is laying down a new rule for her presidential campaign: No fundraisers, dinners, receptions or phone calls with wealthy donors.”

Gosh, Judging from that cap, Mr. Evers must be a white supremacist. I’ve been assured that’s a correct assumption by the entirety of our nation’s news media establishment.:

That is all.

Harvey Weinstein Is Not A Joking Matter

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Yesterday morning I told you that the Clinton Crime Family Foundation was not going to give up one thin dime of the quarter million it received from disgraced former Hollywood high muckety-muck Harvey Weinstein.  As if like clockwork, by the day’s end, a spokesman for the big slush fund tweeted that – guess what? – not one thin dime of Weistein’s hush money would be returned or given to a real charity.  And hey, if you’re the Clintons, why pretend to be anything other than the clawing, grasping, money-hoarding sleazebags everyone knows they are?  It’s gotten them this far, the fake news media will cover for them, and a week from now this will all be as forgotten in the national consciousness as the death of Vince Foster.
  • Speaking of Harvey Weinstein, it appears to me that the nation reached “Peak Weinstein” over this past weekend.  The clearest indicator of that reality is the edict in pop culture that you cannot joke about Harvey Weinstein and his crimes.  Un-funny late night TV host James Corden, with whom I am so unfamliar that I had to google his name to get the spelling right, found this out the hard way when he was lambasted in social media and later, the legacy media for telling a bunch of not funny Weinstein jokes during a gig hosting a charity event Saturday evening.
  • After Actor/Producer/Director Rose McGowan led the Twitter-based roasting of Corden, the comic issued a formal apology for his offending remarks.  Given that Ms. McGowan alleges that she was raped by Weinstein and then black-balled by his Hollywood sex offender support group that pervades Hollywood’s debased culture, it’s easy to see why she and other women who Weinstein abused during his 30-year reign of terror don’t think any of this is a laughing matter.  That seems pretty obvious, doesn’t it?
  • Welllllllllllllllll, not if you’re veteran sportscaster Al Michaels, apparently.  By the time Micheals went on the air Sunday night, the Corden controversy had been swirling for a good 20 hours, but he must’ve missed the NBC memo about the whole dust-up.  Or maybe NBC’s management didn’t sent out a memo, assuming their sportscasters wouldn’t be making on-air jokes about a big Hollywood muckety-muck’s travails, preferring instead to focus on things like maybe which team had the most attention-seeking players taking a knee for the national anthem.
  • But no, Michaels decided it would be really cool right in the middle of the game to compare the week the New York Giants had had to Weinstein’s week, to which his more-alert partner Chris Collinsworth responded with about six seconds of radio silence.  Yikes.  Naturally, Michaels then obviously got his memo from higher-ups at NBC, and soon after the broadcast ended he also issued a formal apology for telling a stupid joke about a subject that is not funny.
  • So, a note to all you comics and aspiring comics out there, longing to whip out your repertoire of Harvey Weinstein jokes:  Stop.  Just stop.  Nothing about what Harvey Weinstein did is funny.  Oh, there is tons of irony in this situation, as it applies to Hollywood’s larger depraved culture and to all the Democrat politicians – especially anyone named Clinton or Obama – who are desperate to find ways to keep Weinstein’s hush money, but none of this is funny.  Women were raped here, abused in heinous ways, their careers and lives destroyed by an out-of-control monster who everyone in Hollywood knew about for years and did nothing to stop him.
  • What the Weinstein scandal is, is tragic.  The most tragic aspect of it is that Weinstein is far from the only monster out there, and in fact most likely is just a representative of an overall culture of abuse that probably will be allowed to continue to exist as the fake news media, which is desperate to shift the public’s attention off of its Democrat benefactors who bathed in Weinstein’s money, moves on to other, faker news.
  • Thus, within a few weeks, it will most likely be business as usual for all the harassers, rapists and pedophiles who dominate Hollywood culture, and the average American with the attention span of a field mouse will go right back to paying six bucks for a 64 oz. Diet Coke while watching mediocre films at their local cineplex.
  • That, friends, is no joking matter.

Just another day in short attention span America.

That is all.
