Wednesday News Roundup: The Nation’s Airports Freed From CNN Tyranny and the U.S. Chamber Betrays America

The DC UniParty continues to push its impeachment farce. – I cover that subject in a separate piece this morning.

American travelers are about to be freed from the grip of #fakenews tyranny. – CNN CEO Jeffrey Zucker notified his organization that its monopoly hold on the nation’s airport monitors will come to an end as of March 31:

If you’re thinking “hey, maybe now we’ll be able to get some real news when we’re going through an airport,” don’t be so optimistic and naive. They’ll probably just replace CNN with Fox News.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce formalizes its betrayal of the American public. – It’s been trending leftwards for awhile now, having thrown in half of its campaign contributions to the Democrats in the last election cycle, but the USCC made its betrayal of the American public formal yesterday, announcing it will cancel future campaign contributions to any Republicans who supported President Trump’s very legitimate challenges to the clearly fraudulent presidential election we just suffered through.

From a story at The Hill:

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the powerful pro-business lobbying group, said Tuesday it will halt political contributions to certain lawmakers following the deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol last week.

“There are some members that by their actions will have forfeited the support of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Period, full stop,” Neil Bradley, chief policy officer at the Chamber, said in a press conference.

The Chamber’s political action committee (PAC) is typically a reliable resource for Republicans.

Bradley said he would not name lawmakers whose support will be pulled. He was questioned specifically on if the group would pull support from Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), the first senator to throw his support behind objecting to the electoral vote count.

“We’re right in the middle of this, right now and unfortunately regrettably, it’s not over … we’re in the middle of ongoing votes that will happen in the House and the Senate,” he said.

“All of those things will factor into that and we’re going to have a lot more to say about the members whose actions last week and the actions over the next eight days and beyond will have cost them the Chamber’s support.”

The Chamber’s PAC previously gave $10,000 to Hawley, which Bradley confirmed but said the Chamber has never required someone return a donation.

“We did support him. I have to tell you that watching the events of the last week, we have been terribly concerned and disappointed by what we’ve seen. I will say that while a lot of folks are singling out individual elected officials to focus on, I wouldn’t focus on just the junior senior from Missouri and we are going to have a lot more to say on him and others as we get through this period that we’re in,” he said.

[End]

In taking this action, the USCC joins many of its multi-national corporate members, like AT&T, Comcast, Verizon and Disney, which have essentially become state-owned subsidiaries of the Chinese Communist Party in recent years. It is now apparent that the ChiComs now essentially control the entire apparatus at the nation’s most powerful business lobbying organization.

Make no mistake about this: This assault on Hawley and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz – in direct coordination with the Democrat Party – is an effort to delegitimize two of the men who would be the most likely successors to take up the mantle of Trumpism in the 2024 election cycle. You should expect similar assaults on Republican office-holders like Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton, Florida Gov. Ron Desantis and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem to begin ramping up soon.

The Swamp’s UniParty has already chosen its preferred 2024 GOP – Nikki Haley – and is already working hard to prop her up and destroy her likely opposition.

Today’s Short Term Memory Reminder. – As he prepares to serve as one of Nancy Pelosi’s hand-picked impeachment managers, we should all remember that Eric Swalwell recently was engaged in a long and sordid love affair with a Chinese Communist honey-pot spy. Not only has Pelosi refused to remove him from his seat on the House Intelligence Committee for this reckless behavior, she rewards him with this new plum assignment.

Like those multi-national corporations running the USCC, the Democrat Party is basically a subsidiary of the ChiCom Party.

Today’s Required Reading, from liberal writer Glenn Greenwald. – Glenn Greenwald is pretty much the only liberal voice in America worth paying attention to anymore, and he has an excellent piece this morning chronicling how Big Tech has basically destroyed the Parler social media platform in just the last week.

Here is an excerpt from that piece:

Over the last year, Parler encountered immense success. Millions of people who objected to increasing repression of speech on the largest platforms or who had themselves been banned signed up for the new social media company.

As Silicon Valley censorship radically escalated over the past several months — banning pre-election reporting by The New York Post about the Biden family, denouncing and deleting multiple posts from the U.S. President and then terminating his access altogether, mass-removal of right-wing accounts — so many people migrated to Parler that it was catapulted to the number one spot on the list of most-downloaded apps on the Apple Play Store, the sole and exclusive means which iPhone users have to download apps. “Overall, the app was the 10th most downloaded social media app in 2020 with 8.1 million new installs,” reported TechCrunch.

It looked as if Parler had proven critics of Silicon Valley monopolistic power wrong. Their success showed that it was possible after all to create a new social media platform to compete with Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. And they did so by doing exactly what Silicon Valley defenders long insisted should be done: if you don’t like the rules imposed by tech giants, go create your own platform with different rules.

But today, if you want to download, sign up for, or use Parler, you will be unable to do so. That is because three Silicon Valley monopolies — Amazon, Google and Apple — abruptly united to remove Parler from the internet, exactly at the moment when it became the most-downloaded app in the country.

If one were looking for evidence to demonstrate that these tech behemoths are, in fact, monopolies that engage in anti-competitive behavior in violation of antitrust laws, and will obliterate any attempt to compete with them in the marketplace, it would be difficult to imagine anything more compelling than how they just used their unconstrained power to utterly destroy a rising competitor.

[End]

Indeed, what Big Tech monopolies have done to Parler over the last week should frighten even the most rabid Trump-hater among us. It has been a display of raw, unashamed monopolistic brutishness this nation has not really experienced since the days when John D. Rockefeller and Standard Oil used its own monopolistic power to starve out competing refiners and pipeline companies.

If they can do this to Parler, they can easily do this to any of us, and if you believe your hatred of Donald Trump somehow makes you exempt from this sort of abuse, boy are you in for a big surprise down the road.

Go read the rest of Greenwald’s piece – it’s long, but it will be the best 15 minutes of time you invest today.

That is all.

Saturday News Roundup: Democrats and Their Media Agents Just Keep Ramping up the Depravity

Every time you think they simply cannot become more despicable and depraved than they already are, Democrats and their media toadies go and fool you. – Here is what CNN’s resident pea hen Jim Acosta tweeted after President Trump left the White House for Walter Reed Hospital last night:

Appearing on CNN’s air later in the day, Acosta complained that the President did not stop even though he shouted a couple of questions to him, lamenting that “all we got was a thumb’s up.”

Now, imagine if President Trump, reportedly suffering from chills and a fever related to the China Virus, had stopped to take questions from Acosta and his depraved colleagues. What do you think Acosta would have tweeted had that happened?

Here’s a pretty good guess:

“Trump endangers press corps by standing close so he can hear our questions, even though he is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.”

You know I’m right.

The Democrat plan to steal the election via ballot harvesting and mail-in voter fraud is falling apart. – Our good friend and frequent contributor Larry Schweikart tweeted this good news out late on Friday:

“The 11th Circuit, thanks to two Trump SCOTUS shortlisters–Britt Grant & Barbara Lagoa–overturned an injunction that would’ve required Georgia to accept ballots 3 days after Election Day if postmarked by 11/3. Now ballots must *arrive* by Election Day.”

Thus, Democrat activists will not be able to wait and see how big a margin President Trump and other Republican candidates roll up on Election Day so they can know how many fake mail-in ballots they need to manufacture to make Biden/Harris Harris/Biden the “winner” a week or two later. This decision comes on the heels of victories in 5 other states this past week on similar questions: Iowa, Ohio, Maine, New Hampshire and Arizona. All potential swing states.

However, more work remains to be done in three other key swing states: Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. Democrat governors and secretaries of state in those states have all attempted to implement new rules to allow vote harvesting and the counting of late ballots in direct conflict with existing state statutes. It is vitally important that these efforts to steal the election be turned back as well, and this week’s winning streak is very encouraging.

Speaking of great court decisions… – A constitutional crisis could be brewing in the State of Michigan, where Generalissimo Gretchen Whitmer and her patently unconstitutional China Virus orders got poured out by the state’s Supreme Court on Friday.

From a story at the New York Post:

Michigan’s highest court confirmed in a landmark decision Friday that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer had overstepped her authority by repeatedly issuing emergency COVID-19 declarations without ever getting the approval of state lawmakers.

In a narrow, 4-3 vote, the court held that Whitmer violated state law by not working with the legislature, The Detroit News reported.

“Our decision leaves open many avenues for the governor and Legislature to work together to address this challenge, and we hope that this will take place,” wrote Justice Stephen Markman.

Whitmer said that she “vehemently” disagreed with the ruling and will find ways to keep her directives in effect through “alternative sources of authority.”

[End]

No word on what those “alternative sources of authority” might be in the Generalissimo’s mind, but given her obvious authoritarian leanings, calling out the Michigan Gestapo to round up the Supreme Court justices does not seem to be beyond the realm of possibility.

Whitmer says she's not ready to welcome Trump, but he's coming to Michigan anyway

Stay tuned.

But these fascist Democrats don’t give in so easily. – The next October surprise is brewing down in Guatemala in the form of…wait for it…oh, you have got to wait for this one…more Democrat-organized fake refugee caravans from Central America, made up mainly of military-aged males!

Mexico deploys military to block migrant caravan

You had to know this was coming, right? Sure you did. It was inevitable, especially with their election-stealing plans being rejected in the state and federal courts. They are pulling out every stop they can think of to try to influence voters. These fake caravans had tremendous utility in the run-up to the 2018 elections, so the Democrats have their Soros-funded activists down in Honduras recruiting people to once again make the trek up through Mexico.

This effort is so transparently a Democrat con job that even Mexico President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) noted it on Friday.

From a piece at Reuters:

GUATEMALA CITY/MEXICO CITY (Reuters) – Mexico’s president on Friday said he suspected political interference behind a new migrant caravan in Central America, promising to keep his country out of the U.S. presidential race as the group splintered and some began turning back.

More than 2,000 migrants, many wearing face masks against the coronavirus, barged past Guatemalan troops at the Honduras-Guatemala border on Thursday. Some said they were seeking to escape poverty aggravated by the pandemic.

President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, who has taken steps to curb illegal immigration so as to avoid entanglements with his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump, suggested that the caravan’s departure from Honduras had been timed to provoke.

“It is very weird, very strange,” Lopez Obrador told a news conference. “It’s a matter that I believe is linked to the U.S. election.”

[End]

Look, there are trillions of dollars at stake in this election. Trillions. If Biden wins, those trillions of dollars will resume being sent over to China by U.S.-based firms like Apple, Facebook, At&t, Disney, Verizon, Microsoft and others who run the U.S. Chamber of Commerce these days. Do you think the vicious opposition  by the leaders of those companies to President Trump and his “America first” policies is due to simple political philosophy?

No. It’s about money, folks, and markets. And China represents the world’s largest, most rapidly-expanding market for those companies named above and hundreds of other supposedly American firms. Given the rabid desire by these corporations to continue to be able to make inroads in China, it is no wonder that the traditionally-GOP-centric Chamber of Commerce has suddenly decided to become a “bi-partisan” trade association, targeting gobs of money to pro-China Democrats in this election cycle.

Thus, October Surprise No. 2 has now been firmly identified.

Don’t know what October Surprise No. 3 is going to be, but we will no doubt find out within the next 2-3 days. It’s the most predictable thing in the world.

That is all.

The Border Debate is Groundhog Day All Over Again

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

So here we go again. – Well, it’s like Groundhog Day: we keep waking up in the morning to listen to congressional Republicans use the same tired old talking points on the border issue.  “The Democrats should do the right thing,” they say, followed by “they should come to the table and negotiate in good faith.”

Yeah, like that’s gonna happen, right?

Invariably, the Republican speaking is some Chamber of Commerce guy or gal who secretly likes open borders for all the cheap labor that provides to all the business interests that fund their campaigns every two years. The real elephant in the living room on this border issue is the same as it was on Obamacare repeal: establishment Republicans refusing to follow through on promises made during their campaigns.

The most valid question in the entire mess is “hey, you Republicans just finished two solid years of having the presidency along with majorities in both houses of congress – if we have a real border emergency, how come you didn’t do anything about it when you had the chance?” And don’t give me the standard crap about their needing 9 Democrat votes in the Senate: If it’s a real emergency, you find a way to get it done through the budget reconciliation process (where only 51 votes are required) and take care of it.

So now all the government workers – without whose presence it took a full month before even the slightest impacts on the American public were felt in a handful of our nation’s airports – are back at work and getting paid to do whatever it is they’re supposed to be doing, and we’re all supposed to say “yay!” for that.  Awesome. Yay.

And for the next three weeks we’re going to be treated to yet another round of D.C. Swamp Kabuki theatre in which both sides will preen and posture and recite talking points written by other people and nothing real will get done. At the end of this latest act, President Donald J. Trump had best either refuse to sign the atrocity of a bill he is presented – because it surely will not contain the $5.7 billion border security funding for which he has been advocating – and shut the government down again, or sign the damn thing and declare his long-promised and long-delayed national emergency.

I say he’d better do one of those two things, because the only other option he is going to have left to him will be to sign whatever bill he is presented and take whatever pittance it contains for border security and pretend that it is some sort of “win”. The thing about that is, nobody’s going to buy it, not even his most fervent fans. If President Trump capitulates on this issue, his presidency would be well and truly over, and he might as well resign and go back to public life.

Here’s the good news: He won’t capitulate. That’s not in his makeup. Come Feb. 15, he’ll be out there fighting just like he always has, and we’ll all be able to see pretty clearly which Republican members of congress are really out there with him.

There won’t be many, and the ones who aren’t – like Marco Rubio – are the real problem here.

About that State of the Union… – Speaking of D.C. Swamp Kabuki theatre, where is it? The government’s back open, so where’s that letter from San Fran Nan renewing the invite to the President to come and enthrall the congress and all of us out here in Flyover Country who all the coastal sophisticates think have nothing better to do on a Tuesday evening?

Ok, honestly, I really don’t give a damn about the State of the Union, and would just as soon see it go away entirely. But that isn’t going to happen, and as things currently stand, this represents another real missed opportunity for the President.

He should be out there somewhere giving a speech tomorrow night. It could be on the National Mall, or as I discussed a couple of weeks back, in one of the great Red State cities like Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Detroit, Dallas, San Antonio or even down in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.

As it has traditionally been carried out, the entire ritual around the State of the Union has become an incredibly tiresome exercise with pretty much no utility at all for real people. In her despicable fit of petulance, San Fran Nan has handed the President a golden opportunity to change its entire nature and bring it out to the people he constantly claims to be his sole focus in office.

If he misses this opportunity, it will be a real loss for his presidency.

That is all.
