Saturday News Roundup: 9th Circuit Clownshow, DOJ Moves on Google, More BLM Terrorism

The 9th Circuit once again beclowns itself. – A 3 judge panel of the leftist 9th Circuit Court of Appeals proved that court to be the patron judicial saint of lost causes yet again on Friday, ruling that President Trump’s use of Pentagon funds to build the border wall is somehow unconstitutional. It isn’t.

This ruling is even more clownish than usual for the 9th Circuit, given that the Supreme Court of the United States already ruled on this same question last July. So this decision is not only wrong, it has already effectively been overturned. The circuit court judges who voted in favor of even hearing this case should be held personally responsible for reimbursing the government’s costs related to it. This is judicial malpractice, which has become an epidemic in this country over the last 3-1/2 years.

News you won’t see reported on CNN. – Readers here will know that I have repeatedly written about the need for the U.S. Department of Justice to pursue anti-trust charges against Google, Twitter, Facebook and the other big tech monopolies, who are the modern-day version of Standard Oil. During the leadup to the 2018 elections, when it had become apparent that the Democrats would likely win control of the House, I even urged President Trump to make trust-busting a major focus of his second two years in office.

Well, here we are, less than 5 months until Election Day, and it appears to the Department of Justice is finally getting around to doing something here.

From a report at Politico:

Justice Department prosecutors expect to file an antitrust lawsuit against Google in the coming months focused on the company’s dominance in online advertising and search, two individuals familiar with the discussions said Friday.

DOJ lawyers and state antitrust officials met online Friday and discussed contours of the expected complaint, according to the people, who weren’t authorized to speak on the record because the investigation is ongoing. People knowledgeable about the case had previously described litigation as likely.

The suit is expected to involve allegations that the search giant has monopolized the advertising technology market. It is also expected to include allegations that Google has taken steps to extend its monopoly over search, such as through contracts with Apple and cellphone makers who use the Android operating system that require it be the default search engine.

The people cautioned that Attorney General William Barr, who did not attend the meeting, has yet to make a final decision on whether to sue, a judgment he could make in the coming weeks. The department would also need to decide what remedy it would seek, such as trying to break up the company or placing limits on its behavior. Whether the state attorneys general would also sign on to the DOJ complaint isn’t yet determined.

[End]

It’s very late in the game, but hey, better late than never. The problem here is exactly the same we see with the John Durham investigation still sitting out there with zero people indicted: If the presidential election goes the wrong way, any investigation into Google that has failed to produce a lawsuit by November will be immediately dropped by a Biden administration and whatever corrupt hack he names as his attorney general. A case already moving through the courts would be far harder for an incoming administration to justify ending.

Why you need to stay aware of your surroundings when out in public. – It’s becoming increasingly apparent that the domestic terrorist group Black Lives Matter is now systematically having its activists assault random white people in public. We’ve all seen the video of the 93 year-old woman who was assaulted on the street in New York last week, and yesterday we have this from Michigan:

Michigan authorities have charged an 18-year-old black man for the “unprovoked,” caught-on-video assault of a white Macy’s manager, officials said.

Damire Palmer, of Mount Morris Township, faces one count of felony assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder for the June 26 attack on the employee inside the Flint department store. Palmer is still in the wind.

“This was an unprovoked attack on a Macy’s employee,” said Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton in a statement. “This behavior as seen on the video is unacceptable, it is criminal, and it cannot be allowed.”

Contrary to initial claims, police and prosecutors didn’t uncover any evidence that Palmer assaulted the staffer after he’d allegedly used the N-word, officials said.

“We don’t believe any racial slur was made by the store manager,” Leyton said.

In surveillance video that prosecutors obtained from Macy’s, Palmer walks around the store then approaches the manager from behind and clocks him in the head, knocking him to the floor, officials said.

[End]

This is a classic terror tactic BLM has used in the past and the group has now obviously decided to reactivate that particular program, which it has referred to in the past as “Operation Polar Bear.”

Keep your head on a swivel and protect your loved ones. These people are trained Marxist thugs, and this is what they do.

That is all.

Larry Schweikart: How Trump has Re-Shaped the American Electorate

[Note: Larry Schweikart, America’s History Teacher and author/co-author of several best selling books, is a frequent contributor here at The Campaign Update. This morning he posted a terrific thread on Twitter containing an array of insights on current events and the 2020 election dynamics, which I am reproducing here with his permisssion.]

3) How do you know Trump has largely won on both issues? They ain’t in the news.

4) When was the last time you heard about the Wall? DemoKKKrats know they cannot stop it now. They’ve given up even trying. Trump pulled off a master move in funding it through the Pentagon.

5) On trade/outsourcing, Trump proved that, yes, he did have a magic wand and yes some of the jobs did come back & were coming back steadily before China retaliated with the China Virus.

6) But DemoKKKrats know in any kind of “normal” economy, MANY of those jobs will come back.

7) I am convinced this is partly the reason for the heightened Kushner attacks last week. DemoKKKrats are still (unsuccessfully) trying to drive a wedge between the jobs/trade side of MAGA and the immigration side.

8) BTW, where is Menopausal Ann [Coulter] on this? Where is DACA?

9) DemoKKKrats have totally dropped DACA cuz they lost.

10) What is the significance of the illegal slowdown? Of the DACA loss?

11) It has spurred the DemoKKKrats even more to try to find other voters to replace them.

12) DemoKKKrats’ black support is slowly eroding.

13) Just like whites, you will see a MAGA black side (most still will out of safety concerns not say this openly) and a (yes, much larger) BLM side.

14) On the MAGA side will be business owners, middle and aspiring middle class blacks, & blue collar workers.

15) Not surprisingly, while the percentages will be different, the black community will (finally) come to resemble the white community in that you’ll have snowflake BLM/college educated blacks robotized by “higher ed” & you’ll have “practical blacks” who’ve seen the Ds do nothing.

16) There is plenty of poll support for this second group of MAGA blacks to be anywhere from 15-25% of the black electorate, but there is good reason to think there is another skeptical layer that will always just stay home rather than keep voting for liars.

17) As @helloitsthao  [Thao Nguyen] points out, this is creating a “donut” where elements of inner cities & outer ring/rural whites vote MAGA and the inner suburb snowflake Karens vote Whackadoodle Lib.

18) However, in the bigger picture, Trump has totally destroyed the DemoKKKrats’ next 50 years of voter base with sharply curtailing illegals & by attracting “practical black” votes.

19) The DemoKKKrats had to go somewhere.

20) Enter the Snowflake Karens.

21) The dual edged sword of China Virus fear porn & the shaming-on-steroids BLM hate movement have thus far succeeded with that inner ring. Most urban-dwelling college educated now hate Trump (rural do not). This is largely out of fear-shaming by SJWs now joined by the corporates.

22) Oh, here are two Larry Schweikart prophecies: First, the NFL WILL sport some sort of BLM logo on helmets & uniforms this fall. (Your response: “Well, I’ll just watch college football.”) Not so fast. VERY SOON, maybe this year you’ll also see the colleges go full BLM in their sports.

22) contd. Second, the 15% movement, where bidnesses are shamed into saying they will purchase/use suppliers who are black owned by the rate of 15%? Soon BLM will demand 30%. Then 60%. Then 100%. NO. NUMBER. WILL. EVER. BE. ENOUGH.

23) Allow me to quote from “A Patriot’s History of the United States” by Schweikart and Michael Allen: [1960’s radical] Jerry Rubin explainedSatisfy our demands & we go twelve more… All we want from these meetings are demands that are never ‘reasonable’. When the demands reached the point that no rational university administrator [OR, I WOULD ADD TODAY, CITY OR BUSINESS LEADER] or public official could possibly comply with them,’ Rubin noted, “Then we scream, righteously angry . . . . Goals are irrelevant. The tactics, the actions are critical.”

24) Of course, Rubin wasn’t entirely honest. No leftists are. He meant that short-term goals were irrelevant, but the destabilization of society as a long-term objective was entirely relevant.

25) The last people to figure this out are liberals. That’s why in communist society they are the first ones shot and imprisoned. They are sheep, baffled by the fact that the “movement” has turned on them. Conservatives & advocates of freedom fought, ran, or hid for far longer.

26) In conclusion, the NFL, the NBA, the City of Seattle, the City of New York, the City of Chicago et al. are all on borrowed time. There will be “twelve more demands.”

Democrats Fall Into a Border Security Trap

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

At his rally in South Carolina Friday night, President Donald Trump tied the Coronavirus issue to the Democrats’ preference for open borders:

“We must understand that border security is also health security,” the president said to cheers from the crowd at a reelection campaign rally in North Charleston, South Carolina, one day before the Democratic primary in the state.

“You’ve all seen the wall is going up like magic,” he continued, saying they’d “have 500 miles built by very early next year.”

“We will do everything in our power to keep the infection from entering our country. We have no choice,” Trump said. “Whether it’s the virus that we’re talking about or many other public health threats, the Democrat policy of open borders is a direct threat to the health and well-being of all Americans… Now you see it with the coronavirus.”

“When you have this virus… or any other problem coming in. It’s not the only thing that comes through the border,” Trump said. “And now just using this — so important, right? So important.”

Oh, hey, guess what else happened on Friday:

Mexican health officials announced the country’s first two confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus on Friday, saying the patients are from Mexico City and the northern state of Sinaloa.

Mexico’s assistant health secretary, Hugo Lopez-Gatell, said a second test is still pending for the Sinaloa case, adding that doctors are “treating this as confirmed,” according to The Associated Press.

See the connection? Now, project things out a couple of steps and think what is likely to happen next. Think about it in the context of the ongoing feeding frenzy by the Democrats and their corrupt media toadies to politicize this virus by claiming the Trump Administration is not doing enough to protect the American people from it.

If the virus starts to really spread in Mexico, isn’t the next logical step for the President to use the Democrats’ own narrative to take steps to dramatically increase border security, to use whatever means necessary to effectively shut it down to non-commercial traffic? Isn’t another next logical step for him to take steps to accelerate the building of the border wall?

Despite all the howling the Democrats and their media echo chamber have done for the last three years, President Trump has yet to deploy the full powers of his office where border security is concerned. He could have easily justified declaring a full state of emergency on the border with Mexico years ago, but has refrained from doing so in favor of conducting strategic negotiations with the Mexican government.

But the Democrats’ own outrageous rhetoric, which is being used in their efforts to politicize this virus, is right now pushing him towards taking that exact action. The logic of the Democrats’ own narrative agitates in favor of completely closing that border by whatever means necessary.

Unless the Democrats suddenly awaken to their own folly here, don’t be surprised if you see that happen during the month of March. Wouldn’t that be some poetic justice?

That is all.

The FISA Court Puts the FBI on a Kabuki Theater Action Plan

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

WINNING, soooooo much WINNING. It truly never gets old. – Once again, every stock market index – the S&P 500, the NASDAQ and the Dow Jones Industrial average – closed at record high levels on Tuesday. That’s the third straight day for the Dow and the fourth straight for the S&P and NASDAQ. The Trump economy is booming along so strongly now that the recession promoters at the Washington Post gave up the ghost over the weekend and sadly admitted that we are not headed into an economic contraction anytime soon.

Also in the realm of WINNING, the Democrats in the House, cowed over the growing public pushback over their impeachment sham, passed a spending bill that includes $1.4 billion in funding for the border wall and does not include restrictions on the President’s ability to move funds from Defense and other departments to keep the wall’s building moving ahead. That, friends, is WINNING on a grand scale.

Another WINNING feature of this particular budget bill is what is not in it: Proposed language that would have provided billions in de facto bailout money for Tesla and General Motors in the form of expanded subsidies for their overpriced Electric Vehicle manufacturing. Those two companies had already used up their allotment of subsidies under the program, and will now be forced to actually compete with Ford, Nissan, Toyota and other EV sellers on equal footing.  Imagine that.

All in all, it was a great day for America because President Trump was WINNING and the Democrats, their corporate clients and their media toadies were LOSING. Funny how that works.

Then there was the not-so-good stuff, typified by the joke of a “public order” issued by the chief judge of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court [FISC], Rosemary M. Collyer.

Collyer, who it must be assumed just awoke from a two-year slumber, issued what the corrupt news media touted as a “stern rebuke” of the FBI for all of its lying to the FISC detailed in the recently-release report by DOJ IG Michael Horowitz. As reported by Fox News:

“The FBI’s handling of the Carter Page applications, as portrayed in the [Office of Inspector General] report, was antithetical to the heightened duty of candor described above,” Collyer wrote in her four-page order. “The frequency with which representations made by FBI personnel turned out to be unsupported or contradicted by information in their possession, and with which they withheld information detrimental to their case, calls into question whether information contained in other FBI applications is reliable.”

Oh, golly, oh, goodness, how will FBI Director Christopher Wray survive such strongly-worded sentences and phrases? Well, as the FBI itself told America in its response to the Judge’s letter, he will do what he does best: Respond to it with standard bureaucratic BS:

“As [FBI Director Christopher Wray] has stated, the inspector general’s report describes conduct by certain FBI employees that is unacceptable and unrepresentative of the FBI as an institution,” the bureau responded in a statement Tuesday night. “The director has ordered more than 40 corrective steps to address the report’s recommendations, including some improvements beyond those recommended by the IG.”

Many of you dear readers no doubt worked or still work in the corporate world as I did for many years. What Judge Collyer did yesterday was basically what corporate management and HR do with badly-performing employees: She put the FBI on an Action Plan. She slapped the dumpster fire law enforcement agency on its collective wrist and demanded that it produce a detailed plan for how it is going to improve performance in the future. And if it doesn’t improve, why, there might, maybe, be – gasp! – consequences.

Folks, Christopher Wray eats this kind of crap up. The man is nothing but your classic federal do-nothing bureaucrat, a useless placeholder whose only real skill is leveraging federal regulations and employment laws to his advantage.

As the FBI’s statement notes, he is so skilled at this game that he anticipated Collyer’s pathetic letter in advance and had already publicly announced his response to her action plan demand. Thus, he covered his butt before she covered hers.

This is nothing more than classic DC Swamp Kabuki Theater. Think about it: Everything finally, at long last detailed in Horowitz’s report has been out there in the public domain for more than two years now. Much of it had been detailed over and over again here at the Campaign Update.

Yet, in all that time, and despite all of the FBI’s mendacity in seeking its multiple FISA warrants to spy on members of the Trump Campaign, Trump Transition Team and Trump Administration having long been public information, neither Collyer nor any other FISC judge ever uttered a peep of public protest. It was only after the Horowitz Report had finally been issued that she suddenly decided to issue her “rebuke” of the FBI and its myriad bad actors.

In a just world, every existing FISA warrant would be rescinded pending further review, and a special prosecutor would be appointed to investigate every other warrant the FBI sought from the Court during James Comey’s time as FBI Director. But this is not a just world, so Collyer’s meaningless action plan, which was so predicrable that Wray anticipated and responded to it in advance, will be the last act we see in this particular Kabuki performance.

Everybody’s butt is now covered, every bureaucrat is now protected, and the myriad Americans whose civil rights have been violated by the raging dumpster fire that is the FBI will have no justice delivered.

That is an outrage.

That is all.

The Week in Review: WINNING. Sooooo Much Winning.

The Campaign Update Week in Review
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Tired of all this #WINNING yet? – Late Friday evening, the U.S. Supreme Court reversed the absurd lower court ruling by an Obama-appointed judge denying the President his clear constitutional authority to redirect unused funds from the military budget towards the building of the wall along our southern border. Let us never forget that the building of that wall was fully authorized by the U.S. Congress during both the Bush and Obama administrations, and those bi-partisan bills were signed into law by those two ex-presidents.

For now, $2.5 billion in funding is freed-up to begin construction on at least 100 miles of new border wall, although the ACLU, in its never-ending efforts to obstruct everything the Trump Administration does, vowed to move to accelerate a separate case it has pending before the ever-reliable 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Thus, the shameful, un-American Lawfare effort set up by the Obama Administration in its waning days will continue in this case.

Tired of all this WINNING yet? Part II. – It has been a week of extraordinary WINNING for President Donald Trump and his administration. Soooooo much winning that it’s seriously hard to know where to begin. Let’s look at a few of the more notable items, starting with the most obvious:

The Mueller Witch Hunt is now officially over and dead. – Try as the Democrats and fake news media might to pretend otherwise, Robert Mueller’s moribund, doddering appearance before two kangaroo court congressional committees this week ended any thought that his despicable investigation would provide some sort of roadmap to impeachment, as the DC Swamp had hoped it might. Oh, the Democrats will continue to pound on their lost arguments over “obstruction” and “collusion”, but those arguments have always been false and Mueller’s two-year effort failed to provide them any foundation in reality.

Because our news media is such a Dumpster Fire of Fake, it takes the public awhile to catch on, but a clear majority now are sick and tired of the entire charade and the needle continues to move in the direction of truth. So this ugly chapter in our nation’s history – brought to us by the Democrat Party and its media toadies – is effectively over.

New record highs in the stock markets. – Despite the best efforts of the swamp snakes at the Fed to hold the economy down, this week saw a renewed surge in corporate earnings across the breadth and depth of the U.S. economy. That surge led to the setting of yet more record highs in all of the major stock indexes, benefiting the various types of retirement funds held by tens of millions of ordinary Americans.

Economic growth beat expectations. – Although it came in at an Obama-like 2.1%, U.S. GDP growth for the second quarter beat “expert” expectations by a significant margin, and the economy appears to be resurging after a slow April and May.

Cop abuse videos from New York City go viral. – As Democrat/Communist Mayor Bill DeBlasio runs around the country pursuing a vanity campaign for president, a series of videos emerged this week showing gangs of thugs in his city pelting police officers with water balloons, buckets of water and other objects, humiliating them as they cower and retreat in compliance with the Mayor’s orders. This idiotic, disgusting policy will inevitably lead to more and more aggression until police officers begin to be seriously injured or even killed. It is a repugnant display of cowardice and horrific leadership brought to America purely by Democrats.

The Squad is now fully in control of the House Democrat Caucus. – As her final action before fleeing the nation’s capital for her 6-week “August recess” (I’m old enough to remember when August only contained a little over 4 weeks) Pelosi felt compelled to hold a special meeting with the leader of The Squad, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. That meeting produced this cringe-inducing image, as Pelosi’s pasted-on smile looks to be on the verge of melting off her plasticized face:

Image result for pelosi meets with aoc

Seriously, which one of these women appears to be actually happy, and which appears to be ready to claw the other one’s eyes out?  This is not a trick question. Having AOC and the other three raging anti-Semite Squad members fully in control of the House Democrat caucus is political nirvana for Donald Trump. These four spoiled, attention-seeking children’s antics will provide the President with a never-ending flow of fodder to toss back at the Democrats throughout his re-election campaign.

Bottom line: After the November, 2020 elections have come and gone, the President has been easily re-elected, and the GOP controls large majorities in both houses of congress, we will look back on this fourth week in July, 2019 as the week the tide fully turned.

The week was that good.

That is all.

That Time Joe Biden Made Perfect Sense About Our Border Crisis

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Watch Joe Biden actually talk good sense about the illegal immigration crisis at our Southern border. – Ok, it’s an old video clip from 2006 meeting of the Columbia, SC Rotary Club – you know, about five years before the Democrat Party made a conscious decision to discard the support of organized labor in favor of open borders and striving to get millions of illegals registered to vote.

But still, when he was cranking up his failed race for the presidency in 2008, the man made all kinds of perfect sense when discussing the major, overriding issue of our time. Here’s the clip (transcript follows below).:

For those of you who still like to read stuff, I have personally performed the tremendous public service of sacrificing 10 whole minutes of my busy Saturday to fully transcribe Creeply Ol’ Joe’s remarks, verbatim, except for a few seconds here and there when he was mumbling and couldn’t be heard clearly:

Transcript:

[Mexico is] one of the wealthiest countries in the Western Hemisphere! And because of a corrupt system that exists in Mexico, there is the 1% of the population at the top, a very small middle class, and the rest is abject poverty.

Folks, I voted for a fence. I voted, unlike most Democrats, and some of you won’t like me, I voted for a 700-mile fence. But let me tell you: We can build those things 40 stories high, but unless we change the dynamics in Mexico, and in – you will not like this – AND punish American employers who knowingly violate the law when in fact they hire illegals, unless you do those two things, all the rest is window dressing.

Now I know we’re not supposed to say it that bluntly, but they’re the facts. They’re the facts.

And so everything else we do is in between here. Everything else we do is at the margins.

The reason why I believe the fence is needed is not because of immigration as much as drugs. I’m the guy that wrote the National Crime Bill, I’m the guy that wrote the national drug trafficking…I’m the guy that wrote the law that set up the Drug Czar.

Let me tell you something, folks. People are driving across that border with tons, tons – hear me, TONS of everything from bi-products of methamphetamine to cocaine to heroin. And it’s all coming up through corrupt Mexico.

So I’d have ‘em all, have ‘em all as they say in the southern part of my state, I’d have ‘em all [unintelligible] at the border. I’d have a little ‘come to the lord’ meeting – you think I’m joking, I’m not joking – maybe you know about me, I’ve been doing this a long time.

I’ve known every single world leader in every country for the past 40 years, and I know a lot of ‘em well. [unintelligible] I’ve been a sen… there’s only 4 senators that’ve served longer than me in the United States Senate. [unintelligible, everyone laughs]

We gotta level with these folks. Don’t tell me, don’t tell me in Mexico you expect to get the same kind of treatment that we give other democracies, and then you don’t act in a democratic way.

Not on my watch. Not on my watch.

[End]

Here’s the utter, abject shame of this: That is Joe Biden saying what he really thinks about illegal immigration and the threat it poses to our country. But, while serving as the Vice President for America’s Worst Mistake, Barack Hussein Obama, he discarded the ability to say what he really thinks in favor of buying into Obama’s program to “transform our country” into just another third-world sh*thole country.

This clip is really nothing remarkable, other than the fact that is a clip of the guy currently leading the field for the 2020 Democrat presidential nomination. Clips just like it exist of Hillary Clinton, Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, Dianne Feinstein and even Barack Obama his own self saying exactly the same things about this issue during that same time period.

But again, sometime around late 2011, early 2012, the Democrat Party as a whole adopted a new strategy. They determined that organized labor – which has always rabidly opposed illegal immigration because it suppresses the wages of American workers – was dying, and that over the long term their party would be able to get far more votes either by the voter fraud of having illegals vote in our elections, or by ultimately providing a national amnesty for them all.

Thus, at that point, the talking points among the Democrats and their toadies in the fake national news media all shifted to promoting open borders and amnesty. The new narrative became that party’s new normal, and Biden, being the corrupt and dishonest fool he truly is, went along with the Obama program.

But today, you now see him memorialized in all his former glory, actually talking good sense for one of the rare times in his long, long, long life.

No need to thank me.

That is all.

The Week in Review: Farting Cows, Crafty Beavers, AOC Memes and Epic Swalwell Fail

The Campaign Update Week in Review
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

The Week in Review, courtesy of the @GDBlackmon Twitter Feed…

The week kicked off with the whole Jussie Smollett hoax coming apart, and James Woods summed the great irony of it all in a single 280-character message, as only he can do.

Meanwhile, fellow hoaxters like the Creepy Porn Lawyer mourned Jussie’s exposure:

While Jussie’s effort to smear President Trump, his millions of supporters and the City of Chicago was falling apart, a CNN reporter was helping one of his hoax’s faithful fans try on jackets, because of course that’s what a CNN reporter would do:

Shameless Self-Promotion Alert!:  All of this hoaxing and the fake news media’s willing promotion of it for two solids weeks led me to write this piece, which is worth a read in case you missed it, and (hint, hint) worth sharing if you’ve already read it:

CBS’s Lara Logan, a rare actual ethical journalist in a mainstream media ocean of shameful news-fakers, put her career on the line on Monday by telling the unvarnished truth about her dying profession:

The no-good very bad week for the New York Times’s chosen candidate, Kamala Harris, continued, as she obviously had no earthly idea what one of her staffers had posted on her own Twitter feed about the Jussie Smollett hoax. You can bet the week was even worse for the staffer, though:

Another real journalist, the great Sharyl Attkisson, had a noble thought, but one with obvious stumbling blocks that would have to be overcome:

From our Clowns are Everywhere files, well, I give you Juan Williams:

It was just another magnificent week for making fun of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez …:

Radio Host Greg Budell – who invites me on his show from time to time – sums up the Commie’s candidacy in 16 words…:

Speaking of making fun of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, here’s a pure masterpiece of memery:

What happens when fake “greens” obstruct the construction of oil pipelines? Canada dumps 120,000 barrels per day of it onto trains, greatly increasing air pollution and the potential for fatal accidents. Because, Climate Change or something…:

I was planning to write about 1,000 words on how the fake news media would fake its “reporting” on the Smollett hoax as it continues to play out, but Undercover Huber summed it all up perfectly in just 280 characters, so I wrote about other stuff instead:

Sometimes I wish James Woods wouldn’t mince his words so much. It’s always so hard to figure out what he’s really thinking…:

Oh, hey, this also happened…:

Here, detestable California creep congressman Eric Swalwell tries to portray himself as a hero by walking an extra block for a cup of coffee.  It didn’t work out well for him at all…:

Oh, hey, this happened on Tuesday, too.:

How does any editor worth a damn allow this headline to make it to print?:

Oh, yeah, and here’s what happens when the fake “greens” like Andrew Cuomo refuse to allow the construction of new natural gas pipelines, i.e., people have no heat:

Is anyone surprised by this? Because it doesn’t surprise me at all. Not even a little bit:

Shameless Self-Promotion Alert!: I was really on a roll this week, and if you missed this piece summing up the ongoing hoaxes by Jussie and AOC’s “Green New Deal”, here’s your chance to take it in and (hint, hint) share it:

Prove me wrong…:

Pretty sure we reached that point back during the Reagan Administration, but your point is well-taken (and if you haven’t seen the clip of Sir Charles lampooning Smollett, you need to watch it):

The inevitable end game of fascist socialism continues to play out in Venezuela…:

When Ben Shapiro posed a very pertinent question about the shady plea deal federal prosecutors entered into with notorious pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, I had a ready answer about two of the most frequent visitors to his private island where all the shenanigans took place. Our fake news media’s ongoing refusal to report the truth about the Clintons is one of the greatest stains in the history of the Republic:

With the Weekly Standard having gone belly up, the idiot dozen remaining #NeverTrump nitwits have a new platform for spreading their stupidity. Not surprisingly, it adopts one of the favorite tactics of leftwing activists. If this surprises you, you haven’t been paying attention to the leftward tilt of these fake “conservatives”, not that I blame you.:

And now for some good news that came through the ol’ Twitter feed on Friday…:

This was the NICEST thing I could think to say about Michael Steele on Friday evening when his despicable remarks came across the wires.  No wonder the RNC went to pot when he was serving as its chairman.:

Despicable Dianne Feinstein had a rare moment of cogent thought this week, which I captured here, even though I misspelled “admirable” in the process.:

Australians are already finding out the desperate costs of implementing just a tiny portion of the “Green New Deal” the hard way.:

Man, Breadline Bernie really needs to work on his Twitter self-awareness.:

In case you missed it due to the fake news media blackout on all the wonderful things President Donald Trump is accomplishing on your behalf, this happened this week.:

With all the reports about Amy Klobuchar forcing a staffer to clean the comb she’d taken out of her purse to eat a salad, it seemed to me everyone was missing the most disgusting part of it all.:

Trump Does the Right Thing on Border Securty – Will John Roberts do the Same?

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

See something, say something, do something. – President Donald Trump has seen a national emergency developing along our southern border for several years now, and he’s been saying that for a long time. On Thursday, left with no other choice by ineffective Republicans who have no spine and Democrats who refuse to negotiate, the President did exactly as he has been promising to do and declared the situation to be a national emergency.

Naturally, the fake news media/Democrat axis of disinformation portrayed the declaration as the end of American society as we know it, because of course they did. That’s what they do anytime this particular President exercises his obvious legal and constitutional authorities.

How obvious is said authority? Barack Hussein Obama – America’s Worst Mistake – declared no fewer than 13 national emergencies in his nine years in office, at least nine of which are still active. On October 24, 2009, he declared it a “national emergency” when 12 people died of the Swine Flu. I swear I don’t make this stuff up. Who could?

All of the Obama “national emergency” declarations that are still active have to do with seizing the personal assets of various minor international bad actors, people you’ve never heard of. Funny he couldn’t find it within himself to take similar actions against the Iranian Mullahs or the socialist thugs down in Venezuela, or against the radical Islamic terrorists who assaulted our embassy in Benghazi and murdered four U.S. diplomatic personnel.

How do any of Obama’s “emergencies” remotely compare to a situation in which our country is literally being invaded by thousands of mostly-military-age males across our border with Mexico each and every day? It is important to note that, when America’s Worst Mistake exercised his clear authorities to declare said “emergencies,” no one in our fake news media or in the Democrat Party uttered a peep of protest. Nor did a single Republican squish like Marco Rubio, who appears to be auditioning for John McCain’s old role as the Senator From The News Media on this issue.

Jonathan Turley, Constitutional Law Professor at George Washington University, told Fox News that the leftist interests who will inevitably challenge the President’s authority to declare this emergency will “fail spectacularly” in the courts on that question. He also thinks that the President has full authority under laws passed in 1977 to reallocate funds from other parts of the budget, and in 2005 to target them towards building the wall.  Why? Because congress gave presidents those powers – reaffirming his already-existing constitutional authority – to do those things, and has never acted to try to repeal them.

So what you’re seeing in the fake news media this morning is – you guessed it – more fake news!

Some things never change.

Having said all of that, there are at least seemingly legitimate political arguments to be made against President Trump’s actions. I don’t agree with them, but they are fair.

Many Republicans reeled in horror yesterday when San Fran Nan implied that a future Democrat President might use the same authority to seize guns. But this is an absurdity. There is no authority – statutory or constitutional – that would allow any president to effectively amend the Constitution or reverse decisions by the Supreme Court via an executive order. It’s typical Pelosi idiocy.

Late last week we saw Rubio and other GOP squishes fret about the potential that a future Democrat would declare “climate change” to be a national emergency and enact the lunatic “Green New Deal” via executive fiat. That’s a concern that’s at least understandable to some extent, especially were we to elect someone like Bernie Sanders or Fauxcahontas, neither of whom will ever become president.

But the declaration of a “national emergency” is not the same as a president appointing himself to be a de facto dictator. The actions he takes under a national emergency declaration still must be founded in a legal authority, either statutory or constitutional. Where the “Green New Deal” is concerned, there is no such legal authority that would allow a president to, for example, unilaterally triple the price of gasoline and your electricity and home heating bills in order to make you stop using fossil fuels, or force privately-owned companies to go bankrupt building thousands of miles of railroads to nowhere, which is exactly what that mindless plan contemplates.

Look, if that were going to happen, Barack Obama would have already tried it and failed. So quit worrying about it.

The real wild card in this is Chief Justice John Roberts. In recent months, Roberts has made several decisions in which he has sided with the leftist minority on the Court, indicating that he may be turning into another Anthony Kennedy, an unreliable jurist with no real principles.

At least one of the inevitable court challenges to President Trump’s declaration will ultimately come before the Supreme Court. That is when we will find out once and for all whether Justice Roberts still respects the Constitution and his role in interpreting it, or if he has become just another Deep State skunk.

Might as well find out now.

That is all.

Trump Should Sign the Bad Border Deal and Finish the Wall on His Own

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Ok, the whole “black face” thing  just very predictably veered off into the theater of the absurd. – Semi-tone deaf pop singer Katy Perry fell into the “black face” controversy on Monday for no good reason at all, because of course she did.  Social media always takes any real issue like the one swirling around Virginia Democrats to the most ridiculous extremes possible.

Ms. Perry has attached her name to a line of shoes, and some, like those pictured above, have little eyes, nose and mouth glued onto them.  Sort of like something your 6 year-old granddaughter might design (trust me, I know about this first hand). Anyway, because the shoes pictured above happen to be black in color, a bunch of nitwits on Twitter desperate to be offended accused the singer of being a racist yesterday.

Never mind the fact that the line of shoes come in a variety of different colors – it’s only the black ones that are somehow offensive. Ms. Perry has yet to apologize, something she should never even consider doing in a million years. Because the truth is this: Had her line of shoes included a variety of colors, but not black ones, she’d have then been accused by the very same nitwits of discrimination. You all know that is true.

The people who know “Beto” best would rather go see Trump. Take this as an object lesson. – When the White House announced last Thursday that President Donald Trump would travel to El Paso for a political rally on Monday, Irish Bob O’Rourke, an El Paso native, quickly announced he would hold a “counter-rally” of his own.

Hearts began to flutter throughout our fake news media – as they always do whenever the cute ex-sheep suit-wearing punk rocker opens his mouth – as the wags began to rampantly speculate that their precious “Beto” would surely draw more people to his rally than the President would. After all, El Paso was his home town!  Why surely the people who know and love “Beto” best would turn out in mobs to hear his immaculate pronouncements!

Uh, well, no. That didn’t happen. Not even close. The fake news media did its best to cover it up, but the reality is that the President had an overflow crowd of 8,000 or so inside the arena in which he spoke, and another 20,000 or so standing out in the elements watching on large TV screens. Here’s a shot of a small part of that outdoor crowd:

Meanwhile, a few blocks down the road, only a couple of thousand showed up to listen to the city’s fake favorite son. It turns out that familiarity really does breed contempt.

But the reality won’t stop the fake news media from lying about it all anyway. The shameless fake newsers at The Week have a piece out this morning with this headline:  “Trump Seemed Very Interested in Beto O’Rourke’s Evidently Larger Crowd During His El Paso Rally,” thus deceitfully implying that Irish Bob actually drew more people than Trump did, something not even the most biased fake reporters on the scene attempted to claim.

How false is that headline?  Despite massively inflating O’Rourke’s actual turnout by a factor of seven or so, The Week’s own piece admits the Trump crowd was far larger:

Trump’s audience inside the coliseum was 6,500, at capacity, El Paso Fire Department public information officer Enrique Aguilar told the El Paso Times. “It might be 10,000 with the people outside,” watching on monitors. The rally O’Rourke spoke at, following a mile-long march, drew at least 7,000 people, The Texas Tribune reports.

Um, last time I looked, 10,000 is more than 7,000, even when those absurdly-faked numbers appear in a fake news publication like The Week.

Another bad deal on the border. – The very Swampy congressional negotiators announced a very, very, very bad “bi-partisan” deal on border security funding as President Trump was flying out to Texas on Monday. The “deal” includes just $1.375 for “border barrier” funding – because we mustn’t say “wall”, you know – far below the President’s $5.7 billion demand. It’s a lousy deal, negotiated by lousy Republican swamp rats and open-borders Democrats. The outcome was thus predictable.

If this smelly “deal” passes both houses of congress and is sent to his desk, the President has only three options that would preserve his electoral viability going into 2020:

  • Reject the bill, which means another fake partial government shutdown; or
  • Sign the bill and immediately announce either a national emergency declaration or, as White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney laid out on Sunday, that he will use his presidential authority to reallocate unused funds from the Defense, Homeland Security and other departmental budgets to fund the wall.

Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Mulvaney said:

“Any president can do this…There are certain funds of money that he can get to without declaring a national emergency and other funds that he can only get to after declaring a national emergency. The whole pot is well north of $5.7 billion.”

That is the path the President should take. The Democrats are desperate to force another shutdown in order to change the subject from racist, baby-murdering, women-assaulting Virginia Democrats, disastrous Green New Deals and anti-Semite Minnesota congresswomen. So they’ll be all too thrilled to deny more paychecks to those same 800,000 federal workers and cry their crocodile tears over them.

The President should not give them that gift when he has them so clearly on the defensive.

What President Trump cannot do is sign this atrocity of a “deal” and do nothing else on border security. More than any other element of his 2016 campaign, his promise to secure our Southern border is why he was elected. He cannot leave that promise unaddressed any longer and expect to be re-elected in 2020.

The time to act is now.

That is all.

The Border Debate is Groundhog Day All Over Again

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

So here we go again. – Well, it’s like Groundhog Day: we keep waking up in the morning to listen to congressional Republicans use the same tired old talking points on the border issue.  “The Democrats should do the right thing,” they say, followed by “they should come to the table and negotiate in good faith.”

Yeah, like that’s gonna happen, right?

Invariably, the Republican speaking is some Chamber of Commerce guy or gal who secretly likes open borders for all the cheap labor that provides to all the business interests that fund their campaigns every two years. The real elephant in the living room on this border issue is the same as it was on Obamacare repeal: establishment Republicans refusing to follow through on promises made during their campaigns.

The most valid question in the entire mess is “hey, you Republicans just finished two solid years of having the presidency along with majorities in both houses of congress – if we have a real border emergency, how come you didn’t do anything about it when you had the chance?” And don’t give me the standard crap about their needing 9 Democrat votes in the Senate: If it’s a real emergency, you find a way to get it done through the budget reconciliation process (where only 51 votes are required) and take care of it.

So now all the government workers – without whose presence it took a full month before even the slightest impacts on the American public were felt in a handful of our nation’s airports – are back at work and getting paid to do whatever it is they’re supposed to be doing, and we’re all supposed to say “yay!” for that.  Awesome. Yay.

And for the next three weeks we’re going to be treated to yet another round of D.C. Swamp Kabuki theatre in which both sides will preen and posture and recite talking points written by other people and nothing real will get done. At the end of this latest act, President Donald J. Trump had best either refuse to sign the atrocity of a bill he is presented – because it surely will not contain the $5.7 billion border security funding for which he has been advocating – and shut the government down again, or sign the damn thing and declare his long-promised and long-delayed national emergency.

I say he’d better do one of those two things, because the only other option he is going to have left to him will be to sign whatever bill he is presented and take whatever pittance it contains for border security and pretend that it is some sort of “win”. The thing about that is, nobody’s going to buy it, not even his most fervent fans. If President Trump capitulates on this issue, his presidency would be well and truly over, and he might as well resign and go back to public life.

Here’s the good news: He won’t capitulate. That’s not in his makeup. Come Feb. 15, he’ll be out there fighting just like he always has, and we’ll all be able to see pretty clearly which Republican members of congress are really out there with him.

There won’t be many, and the ones who aren’t – like Marco Rubio – are the real problem here.

About that State of the Union… – Speaking of D.C. Swamp Kabuki theatre, where is it? The government’s back open, so where’s that letter from San Fran Nan renewing the invite to the President to come and enthrall the congress and all of us out here in Flyover Country who all the coastal sophisticates think have nothing better to do on a Tuesday evening?

Ok, honestly, I really don’t give a damn about the State of the Union, and would just as soon see it go away entirely. But that isn’t going to happen, and as things currently stand, this represents another real missed opportunity for the President.

He should be out there somewhere giving a speech tomorrow night. It could be on the National Mall, or as I discussed a couple of weeks back, in one of the great Red State cities like Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Detroit, Dallas, San Antonio or even down in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.

As it has traditionally been carried out, the entire ritual around the State of the Union has become an incredibly tiresome exercise with pretty much no utility at all for real people. In her despicable fit of petulance, San Fran Nan has handed the President a golden opportunity to change its entire nature and bring it out to the people he constantly claims to be his sole focus in office.

If he misses this opportunity, it will be a real loss for his presidency.

That is all.

The Wall Will be Built, One Way or Another. Stop Whining.

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Really?  This guy was actually a candidate? Who knew? – You will all no doubt be highly saddened to know that Richard Ojeda has dropped out of the race for the 2020 Democrat Party’s presidential nomination.

I can hear the gears clinking furiously in minds everywhere out there, as you take to Google to figure out just who in the hell is Richard Ojeda? So, let me tell you: He’s a state senator from West Virginia. I have no earthly idea when he announced he was running, but on Friday he announced he wasn’t, and that actually made news for some reason.

The candidate no one had ever heard of said that, although “The indications were very positive from an overwhelming response to our videos, to thousands of volunteers, and a level of grassroots fundraising support that grew every day,” he doesn’t “want to see people send money to a campaign that’s probably not going to get off the ground.”

Oh.  Ok.  Adios, dude.

In other, real news… – The Commie’s in!  Yes, friends and enemies, Bernie Sanders is going to be providing more Soviet-style gruel for the leftist masses for the next two years, as expected.  Yahoo News reports that he will formally announce his bid just as soon as he can use other people’s money to rent a room at some Washington, DC hotel.

Awesome. The 2020 campaign just wouldn’t have been the same without this grifting lunatic weaving his envy-based Bolshevik fantasies for all the college students to soak in.

Why can’t people listen anymore? – I’ve always marveled at the inability of the leftist mind to listen and absorb what is actually being said in a speech. Sadly, this same lack of attention span appears to have now afflicted many on the right as well.

Yesterday, President Trump gave a speech that lasted about 20 minutes or so, in which he announced that he had reached an agreement with congressional “leaders” to re-open the semi-closed government and get all the federal employees paid via a three-week continuing resolution (CR).  That part of the speech consumed about one of the twenty minutes.

Those who actually listened to the speech in its entirety and absorbed what was actually said heard the President spend the other 19 minutes of it making making the case for why the current situation along our Southern border constitutes a true national emergency, and why the building of a wall is necessary to relieve it. Mr. Trump further promised that, if congress has failed to allocate his requested $5.7 billion in wall and border security funding at the end of the 21-day period of the CR, he will use his authority to issue an executive order declaring a national emergency and use funds his staff has already identified in the defense budget to immediately begin adding to the 630 miles of border wall that already exist.

Oddly, the only part of the speech most Trump “supporters” apparently heard was the deal on the CR. Despite the reality that Donald Trump is the first President since Ronald Reagan who has kept promise after promise after promise, the backlash among his supposed supporters on social media was immediate and harsh. Twitter was immediately filled with the wailings of thousands of Trumpians accusing the President of “caving” and whining that his presidency is now somehow over.

For those still clinging to that notion this morning, let me try to explain what really happened on Friday:

  1. President Trump acted to ensure employees in the Coast Guard and Department of Homeland Security did not miss a second paycheck, and to ensure the flight disruptions that were taking place at several airports due to lack of personnel did not spread across the country and begin harming the overall economy; and
  2. The President put the onus on congressional Democrats to either negotiate a deal on border security or deal with the reality of a national emergency declaration.

Seeing all the uproar taking place, the President tried to calm the waters with the following tweet:

As if that blunt statement needed more clarity, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders followed up with this:

Are we clear now, or are there still some who need it boiled down into 25 words or less? If so, here you go:

The wall is going to be built, one way or another.  Stop whining, and pay better attention.

That is all.

Best. Fake. Partial. Shutdown. EVER.

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

[Note:  The Campaign Update will appear later than  normal over the next four days.]

Government Shutdown, Day…um, what day is it?  28? 29? This fake, partial, sort of “shutdown” of parts of a quarter of the federal government has now dragged on so long it’s become impossible to keep up anymore.

But oh, what a glorious fake government shutdown it became on Thursday. That day, January 17, 2019, will be remembered into posterity as the date when this became, without any doubt at all, the greatest, most entertaining government shutdown in the history of all government shutdowns.

Just a day after Speaker San Fran Nan sent over a petty and utterly dishonest letter to the White House informing President Donald Trump that she was rescinding her invitation to deliver his state of the union message to a joint session of congress in the House chamber on January 29, President Trump responded with a petty – but honest – act of his own, denying Pelosi and several other Democrat congressmen and women the use of a military aircraft for a six-day international boondoggle they’d had planned for weeks.

Where Pelosi cited false concerns about “security” in her Wednesday letter – which were quickly debunked by the Secret Service – Trump cited the need for Pelosi to remain in Washington DC while 800,000 federal employees continued to work without pay thanks to her refusal to negotiate over the border security issue. Thus, a petty and dishonest act generated a petty and completely honest response.

Of course, when San Fran Nan sent her despicable letter, the fake news media parroted the Democrat talking points, calling it an “impressive power play” and couching it in other glowing terms. The fake media’s response to Trump’s letter was also a parroting of Democrat talking points, because that’s what the fake news media does.

In any event, there is no question that the President hit Pelosi where it really hurts.  She is infamous for abusing the privilege of commandeering military aircraft for her personal use. During her first stint as Speaker, she abused the  privilege to fly across the continent to her San Francisco home and back to D.C. multiple times every month.

What most in the media are missing about this particular, specific retaliation from the President is that it represents a shot across the bow at Pelosi. This was not just about the fake “shutdown” – this was President Trump putting her and her colleagues on notice that he is fully aware of their chronic abuse of military assets, a practice he could end entirely with the stroke of a presidential pen. You can bet bug-eyed Adam Schiff – who, along with his colleagues had already  boarded the bus to Andrews Joint Airbase when Trump’s letter was released – took notice of this reality and is not happy about it either.

And guess what else?  All those Republicans whining about the President’s actions today also understand the reality of what this specific action really was, and they aren’t happy about the prospect of losing that privilege, either.  Are you listening, Lindsey Graham?

Call the President “petty” if you  like, but doing that without also acknowledging Pelosi’s more reprehensible act of pettiness, or recognizing the full implication of the President’s using this specific action as a negotiating tactic just completely  misses the point here.

And speaking of Pelosi’s fake “security” issues… – Yours truly traveled through not one, but two major U.S. airports on Thursday. You know – the airports that are supposedly near the breaking point, with angry air traffic controllers and TSA agents calling in sick by the thousands, according to your fake news media?

Yeah, those airports.  Anyway, I traveled through two of them yesterday and encountered not a single solitary issue.  No angry TSA agents, no long waits at security, no long lines at check-in, no delays at baggage claim, no nothing.

If anything, the TSA agents I encountered were cheerful and more helpful than normal.  Obviously, they can’t be happy about missing a paycheck, but the reality is this: all those alarmist reports you are seeing on your local and national news media about chaos at the nation’s airports are nothing more than steaming piles of fresh horse manure.

Now, if Pelosi forces this thing to linger on for another month, some spots of chaos could begin to develop in this regard.  But the Administration has all sorts of options that enable it to prevent that from happening.

As is always the case, your fake news media is lying to you. Because, that is who they are, and it is what they do.

That is all.

Pelosi Hands Trump a Golden Opportunity to be the Disrupter Again

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

By dis-inviting President Donald Trump from delivering the annual State of the Union address to a joint session of congress, Speaker San Fran Nan provides the President with a golden opportunity to do one of two great things for our nation:  Eliminate the State of the Union tradition entirely, or move it to America’s heartland, where it belongs, and deliver it to real Americans.

Contrary to all the bad information spread all over social media yesterday, no president is under any constitutional obligation to give this speech.  All the constitution requires of the president is that he or she “from time to time give to Congress information of the State of the Union and recommend to their Consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient.”

Right up until the despicable Woodrow Wilson decided to start making a speech in 1913 to congress to satisfy this obligation, American presidents had done it in writing. Somehow, the nation survived.

The truth is that this annual bit of Kabuki Theatre is a tremendous waste of time, nothing more than a tedious opportunity for a president to brag about successes that may or may not be real, for members of the opposition party to sit on their hands and scowl while he does so, and for mental midgets like former Illinois congressman Luis Guitierrez to get up and walk out. The entire exercise is incredibly tiresome and frankly not good in any way for the country.

President Trump would be doing the nation a huge favor by dispensing with this nonsense altogether. Just put the final version of the speech in the U.S. mail on January 29, addressed to Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and spend the rest of that day getting rid of more of the un-American legacy of Barack Hussein Obama. Productive work is always a good thing.

But if the President decides he must deliver a speech in order to take advantage of the opportunity to speak to the nation on national television unfiltered by the preening peacocks in the national fake news media, then why not take it out of the cesspool that is Washington, D.C., and move it to a place where real Americans live and work and breathe the flyover country air?

Take it to Pittsburgh, one of the great cities of America’s Rust Belt, which is experiencing a tremendous renaissance in recent years, and which led the way in delivering Pennsylvania’s electoral votes to Donald Trump in November, 2016. Rent the city’s largest arena and deliver the speech to 15,000 appreciative Pennsylvanians.

Or take it to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the state the Pantsuit Princess couldn’t be bothered to visit, or Detroit, Michigan, states that hadn’t voted for any GOP presidential candidate in this century, but that helped put Trump in the White House in 2016.

If you want to take it to the heart of the Heartland, there’s always St. Louis or Dallas, both great cities with big, secure airports and millions of real citizens who would rush for the chance to witness a formal presidential speech.

But if he really wants to make an impact, if he really wants to focus on the border security issue, take the speech to San Antonio or even the Rio Grande Valley, fill the arena with 15,000 Texans, and invite every mother and father and sister and brother who have lost loved ones to violent crimes committed by illegal aliens to occupy the seats closest to the stage.

Regardless of where the speech is held, invite every member of congress to attend as well, but ensure that they all must stand on-line with everyone else, enter the arena along with everyone else, and sit in random seats out among the real people, so that they can experience the speech as real Americans experience it, and maybe even have a conversation with a real American or two while they’re doing it.

Wouldn’t that be something?

Donald Trump is a natural disrupter – always has been, always will be. He doesn’t just ignore stuffy and stupid and non-productive traditions – like the annual White House Correspondents Dinner – he destroys them. It’s why he was elected to the presidency in the first place.

By sending him her incredibly dishonest and embarrassingly vapid letter, Speaker San Fran Nan has handed Mr. Trump a golden opportunity to play the disrupter again, and do it in a way that turns a tedious and tiresome Washington D.C. tradition into an event that involves and benefits real, ordinary Americans.

Of course, the most likely outcome here is that the President will, later today, simply inform the Speaker that her concerns about “security” issues are absurd, and that he will be at the House Chamber at 9:00 ET on January 29 to deliver the speech as she invited him to do on January 3, which by the way was already two weeks into this fake, partial government “shutdown.”

But wouldn’t it be wonderful, wouldn’t it be a fantastic thing if he did something else?

Yes, yes it would. Just do it, Mr. President, do it for the people.

That is all.

Will the Media Ever Report the Real Story About the Government Shutdown?

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

What ever happened to Matt Drudge? – The blaring, all caps, bold-faced headlines atop the Drudge Report landing page this morning read “SHUTDOWN TURNS NIGHTMARE” and GOVT PARALYZED”.

My goodness, you mean to say that, here on Day 26 of the longest partial federal government fake “shutdown” ever, we’re finally starting to see major detrimental impacts to not just the government itself, but also to the public at large? That’s obviously what Matt Drudge wants you to believe.

The trouble is, when you click on those headlines to read the stories behind them, that is not the narrative you will find. Not at all. Take the “SHUTDOWN TURNS NIGHTMARE” story first.  Click on that shock header and you are taken to an Associated Press story with a similarly-alarmist header that reads in slightly smaller, non-caps letters: No. of no-show airport security screeners soars in shutdown”.

My goodness, it “soars”? Boy, that must mean half of the TSA airport security agents aren’t showing up for work, right?  Surely, all of the nation’s airports must be in lockdown and air travel grounded to a halt as a result.  Right?  Well, RIGHT?as Drudge would ask it.

Um, no. If you bother to read all the way into the 2nd paragraph of the typically-slanted AP story, you see this sentence: “No-shows among screeners jumped Sunday and again Monday, when the Transportation Security Administration reported a national absence rate of 7.6 percent compared with 3.2 percent on a comparable day a year ago.” The emphasis added there is mine.

That’s right, Matt Drudge thinks it’s a “NIGHTMARE” that 7.6 percent of TSA airport agents are calling in sick. Folks, a typical flu epidemic results in a higher absentee rate than that.

Oh, but the AP didn’t stop there. Their reporter managed to find the perfect air traveler who was willing to say that “It’s chaos out here.” So, why is it “chaos” out there, according to one Vincent Smith, the air traveler in question? “This line, I’ve been here about 15 minutes and it has moved 2 feet.” Oh, golly, welcome to Atlanta Hartsfield Airport on a Monday, dude.

But it just gets better in this fake story.  Here’s another passage halfway down the page:  “Delta Air Lines, the dominant carrier in Atlanta, and other airlines said they were advising passengers to get to the airport at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international trips.”  You don’t say.

Here’s what the AP doesn’t tell you:  Delta and every other U.S. airline have been advising passengers do exactly that since 9/12/2001. Every frequent air traveler in America has heard that exact advice 1,000 times in the last 18 years, and most of us studiously ignore it, because it has always been fake advice. But hey, maybe this time, 26 days into this fake partial government “shutdown,” it’s real. There’s a first time for everything.

Ok, that’s enough on that fake story.  Let’s now click on the Drudge alarmist header that reads GOVT PARALYZED”.  Note that this one is not only all-caps, bolded and in a huge font, but is also in italics, so Matt Drudge wants you to believe this one is really, really, REALLY terrible, possibly the end of the world for all of us.  He wants you to believe that our entire federal government is not just impacted, it is PARALYZED by this fake, partial government shutdown that has 1 out of 14 of TSA agents – GASP!!!! – calling in sick.

So, you click through and what do you find? A story from several fake journalists at the fake Washington Post recycling the narrative that President Trump and congress can’t reach a deal to re-open the fraction of the government that has been sort of, partially “closed” for the last 26 days.

Oh.

It’s your standard WaPo fake story:  Everything is President Trump’s fault, no mention of the fact that many of the intransigent Democrats who have offered zero compromise in 26 days vacationed with 109 lobbyists in Puerto Rico at taxpayer expense over the weekend, then the standard segue into 300 words about Russia. There is literally no actual “news” in this story at all.

But Matt Drudge wants you to believe that it is the most earth-shattering story of this day, January 15, 2019.

Hey, when is someone going to write the real “news” story on this fake government shutdown, which is that, here we are, 26 days into it, and the biggest impact on the public at large that the AP can find is some whiny jackass at Atlanta Hartsfield Airport who is having to wait in line maybe 15 minutes longer than he normally would when travelling out of that particular location?

Think about it: We had 800,000 federal workers missing a paycheck on Monday, more than half of whom are furloughed, and that’s the biggest impact anyone can find? What in the hell do all those people do every day? Why do the taxpayers keep having to fund hundreds of thousands of expensive jobs that provide no public benefit or impact? And if you, like 98% of our fake news media, want to blame something on the evil Orange Man, why isn’t anyone in the Trump Administration using this as an opportunity to identify government waste and invite most if not all of these furloughed workers to make their furloughs permanent?

Isn’t that the real story here?  When is someone going to write that one?

Wait, I guess I just did. Somehow, I don’t think that story will be getting linked at the Drudge Report anytime soon.  Doesn’t fit the narrative, you know.

Oh, hey, another Democrat wasting her time running for President. – This one would be New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, whose time came and went four years ago and she didn’t realize it.  Or, more accurately, she lacked the courage to take on the Clintons.

Four years ago, she was the far-left (well, far-left for four years ago, anyway) pretty face who could have theoretically attracted younger voters. Today, she’s just another face in a very big crowd. Not as pretty as Kamala Harris or Tulsi Gabbard, not cutting edge in any way, lacking any signature issue or win she can point to, not nearly far-left enough for the Millennial Democrat voters who prefer a true Commie like Bernie Sanders or the endlessly cute Beto instead.

Two years ago, Sen. Gillibrand thought that using the “F” and “S” words a lot in her speeches would help her presidential ambitions come true, because some pollster told her Millennials like politicians who curse a lot in public. Irish Bob O’Rourke is the prime example of this tactic resulting in some success, though not enough to beat Ted Cruz. But it didn’t work at all for Ms. Gillibrand, so she dropped it after awhile.

A year ago, when the whole #MeToo thing started picking off all manner of high-profile liberals, Gillibrand, who had been an ardent apologist for Bill Clinton for a quarter of a century, suddenly decided to publicly go after her hero.  That burst of intestinal fortitude lasted about five minutes, probably until someone reminded her of all the dirt the Pantsuit Princess has collected against pretty much everyone in Washington. Then Gillibrand timidly scurried back into her Clinton apologist corner.

Bottom line, Sen. Gillibrand is wasting her time. Don’t let her waste any of yours.

That is all.

Renewed Media Focus on Russia Means the Border Issue is Going Badly for the Democrats

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

You know they’re in trouble when they start recycling fake news stories. – The fake editors at the Wall Street Journal have become so desperate they now feel the need to recycle Trump outrage stories in their unending efforts to keep the Democrat rabble roused.

Over the weekend the Journal recycled the story from a year and a half ago that President Donald Trump did not allow note-takers in his first meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in mid-2017. This is not news – this is a story that the entirety of the fake news media obsessed about endlessly in the wake of that long-ago meeting.

The lack of note-takers in the meeting between the leaders of these two countries is also nothing unprecedented or even unusual, as the fake reporters and editors well know. Hell, Barack Obama and John Kerry held secret meetings with the Mullahs in Iran for almost two years with no one taking notes, then shipped $1.6 billion in hard currency to them in the back of a jet, and no one at the Journal said boo about it. Yet the Journal’s fake reporters make it seem as if this is something only Donald Trump would have ever imagine doing.

As Trump pointed out at the time, he didn’t want anyone else in the meeting because he didn’t want the details of the discussion leaking out to the media. At the time in question, the President was so plagued with leaks that he was unable to hold telephone conversations with foreign leaders without the details being leaked and appearing in the fake media an hour later. Portraying this as anything else is a conscious lie, and a disgrace to the Journal and to the dying journalistic profession, such as it exists in America today.

The Journal’s disgrace follows on the heels of other fake media reports in the last few days about Trump and Putin/Russia, as the media/Democrat axis of disinformation desperately attempts to shift public attention away from the whole border controversy, which was not playing well for the Democrats as they vacationed at taxpayer expense on the beaches of Puerto Rico over the weekend.

Here are a couple of other headlines we saw from fake news usual suspects in the past few days:

FBI Opened Inquiry Into Whether Trump Was Secretly Working on Behalf of RussiaNew York Times

Trump has Concealed Details of his Face-to-Face Encounters With Putin From Senior Officials in AdministrationWashington Post

The Times’ reporters managed to write 1,500 words or so on their subject without ever mentioning the fact that the “inquiry” in question was ordered in early 2017 by then-acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe.  Gosh, wonder why?

Could it be that the fake journalists decided to leave that key fact out of their story because McCabe is himself a disgrace, a snake who was fired for his repeated efforts to mislead internal FBI investigators and currently finds himself the subject of criminal investigation? Yeah, it could be that. That’s where the smart money is, anyway.

Look, McCabe was clearly a central figure in the corrupt DOJ/FBI cabal that attempted to fix the 2016 election for Hillary Clinton, abusing the FISA process to illegally spy on the Trump Campaign and Transition Team. That Cabal did its best to frame the President into an obstruction of justice charge that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has, after 20 months of trying, been unable to substantiate. Of course, this despicable deep state skunk had an “inquiry” going against the duly-elected President of the United States – he had been working to try to bring the man down for a year by then.

The Post story is just sort of an extension of the Journal’s bit of news-fakery, 1,000 words about pretty much nothing other than a President plagued by leaks not knowing who he can trust, trying to keep everything he says off of the front page of the Washington Post. Of course he isn’t sharing every detail of his conversations with Putin or anyone else with some of his senior officials, especially with those who no doubt served as the anonymous “sources” for this very story.

These are all nothing-burger stories planted by agenda-driven “sources”, written by agenda-driven fake reporters and approved by agenda-driven editors for the sole purpose of creating a new narrative.

Think about the timing of them: They all came right at the time several hundred thousand federal workers were about to miss their first paycheck due to the ongoing partial government shutdown. The reliable fake-newsers at CNN dummied up a fake poll over the weekend (because of course they did) that purports to show most Americans blaming the President for the shutdown, but the issue is obviously not playing well for the Democrats.  Otherwise, we would not be seeing this frenzied rash of Russia-related fake news from the Democrats’ media support system.

The key to remember here is that the Democrats and their media agents are always pushing a narrative based on their polling and focus group data. The fact that they are back to pushing this fake Trump/Russia narrative at this particular point in time tells us that they are very concerned with how the whole border security issue is playing for them. If the issue were playing well for the Democrats, the media would be pushing that narrative 24 hours a day.

All of this is why, if you’ve been expecting President Trump to be the first to blink in the government shutdown standoff with San Fran Nan and Chuck Schumer, you should probably re-calibrate your thinking.

That is all.

The New Democrat/Media Narrative: Congress Must Take Up Mueller’s Witch Hunt

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

This is going to become hard to keep up with. – When the Republican candidates for the presidency assembled for their first debate in the summer of 2015, there were 17 of them. At the rate the Democrats are going so far this year, they will exceed that number by Valentine’s Day.

Hawaii Representative Tulsi Gabbard told communist CNN talk show host Van Jones that she plans to toss her lei into the ring within the next week. As I mentioned yesterday, San Antonio politician Julian Castro will be making his formal announcement today, joining Congressman John Delaney of Maryland as the first two formally-declared candidates. And of course, Fauxcahontas announced last week that she’s formed an exploratory committee, which means she’s running too.

So, Ms. Gabbard will make it four, and she’s actually the most interesting of the bunch.  She’s only 37 years old, but has been making news for years in her congressional role as a rare contrarian within the Democrat congressional caucus. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a socialist like all the rest of them, but she’s at least fairly intelligent about it and is not shy about calling out her party’s own excesses when she sees them. She has courage, in other words, and that is a terribly rare thing in a Democrat politician.

Gabbard most recently made news earlier this week when she called out dimwitted Hawaii Senator Mazie Hirono and California Senator Kamala Harris for the anti-Catholic bigotry the two exhibited recently in their roles on the Senate Judiciary Committee.  Gabbard was also frequently critical of the Obama Administration and of Hillary Clinton during her own disastrous run for the presidency.

One interesting thing Gabbard’s candidacy will do is without question give the Democrat field the broadest range of age in American history.  Think about it:  From Silent Generation Bernie Sanders at 77 to Millennial Tulsi Gabbard at 37, the Democrat field will span four full generations and 40 years. That is unprecedented.

But bottom line, Gabbard is far too intelligent, honest and interesting to ever win the Democrat Party’s presidential nomination, but she could set herself up for a cabinet position in some future Democrat administration by raising her public profile with a primary run.

Actual exchange at a Trump press availability on Friday afternoon:

TRUMP: Good job yesterday, I appreciate your sales pitch.

ACOSTA: I didn’t see any danger on the border Mr. President.

TRUMP: That’s because we had a wall.

Oof. And that’s why Donald Trump is President.

The fake media starts a new narrative using a most reliable source. – It didn’t get a ton of notice, but early Thursday morning, leftist rag Mother Jones put up a column by Democrat activist/pretend journalist David Corn titled “The Myth of the Mueller Report.” Corn, reading the handwriting on the wall, spends 1,000 words or so detailing the fact that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is under no obligation to produce any sort of public report, or any report at all that does anything other than detail the various indictments of ham sandwiches he’s secured over the past 20 months, and submit it confidentially to whomever happens to be serving as attorney general at the time.

The handwriting on the wall to which I refer is all the obvious signals that, despite all the hysteria and false reporting in our fake news media, Mueller has been slowly winding his operation down since last August and is likely to close up shop and issue whatever final report he’s going to issue shortly after the confirmation of new Attorney General William Barr is confirmed by the Senate.

The other piece of handwriting that’s all over our national reading wall  is that, along about that same time, DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz will be issuing his final report – at long last – on all the rampant abuse of the FISA system that took place during most of 2016 and into 2017. That report will not be good for Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, and everyone knows it, including Mr. Barr. That’s why we saw the news early this week that the oily Mr. Rosenstein will be leaving his own office right around the same time these other major events are taking place.

All of this is horrible news for the Democrats and their  media agents who, like Corn and Mother Jones, have been faithfully pushing the “Russia Collusion” fantasy on behalf of the Democrats for the last 26 months. They are desperate to keep the fantasy alive and need another vehicle for doing that once the Mueller witch hunt closes up shop.

Enter the new Democrat majority in the House of Representatives, and the concluding logic in Corn’s piece, which reads as follows:

Providing the citizenry a complete account of the Trump-Russia scandal is actually the responsibility of Congress.

And there it is: The roadmap for media justification of the endless series of kangaroo-court hearings the Democrats are going to conduct through various congressional committees for the next two years. 20+ months of a Special Counsel witch hunt aren’t going to deliver the Democrats their unicorn, so it is now up to Congress to spend the next 24 months pounding the public with the same nonsense.

You can expect to see Corn’s “logic” echoed throughout the fake news media’s editorial pages and talking head panels in the coming weeks and months.  Because this is the narrative, and pounding home the narrative is all our fake news media does anymore.

That is all.

Jim Acosta And Beto Beclown Themselves on the Border Issue

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

The ball’s in your court, Alexandria. – Some of you may have seen the tweet issued a couple of weeks ago by socialist dimwit Alexandria Ocasio Cortez in which she said something I actually agree with for the first time:

“Next time we have a gov shutdown, Congressional salaries should be furloughed as well.  It’s completely unacceptable that members of Congress can force a government shutdown on partisan lines & then have Congressional salaries exempt from that decision.  Have some integrity.”

Well, golly, our intrepid Millennial heroine is getting her chance to follow through on her stated belief today, which is pay day for federal workers, and members of congress, too. As Fox News reported two days ago, fully 13 of her freshmen colleagues had already notified the payroll office that they would forego their pay so long as the partial shutdown continues.

GOP freshman Dan Crenshaw from Texas made it 14 with his own tweet yesterday:

But AOC? Well, she has remained oddly silent on the matter.  Turns out that, being the good socialist she is, the stuff that comes out of her mouth applies to other people – the little people, the people out here in flyover country – but not to her.  This whole congress thing is turning out to be a little harder than she thought it was going to be.  Go figure.

Speaking of leftist dimwit heroes… – Even though he no longer holds a political office of any kind, Texas senate race loser Irish Bob O’Rourke is making sure we don’t forget about him as he prepares to announce his inevitable run for the Democrat Party’s 2020 presidential nomination. He’s accomplishing that goal by streaming himself live doing all sorts of things onto his Instagram page, which is followed by thousands of teenage girls, the entire editorial staff of the New York Times and that little bald fat guy who hosts a show on CNN.

Here’s Irish Bob in the kitchen pretending to cook.  Here’s Irish Bob growing a scraggly beard in obvious imitation of Ted Cruz. Here’s Irish Bob putting others in danger as he videos himself while driving a car. Here’s Irish Bob drinking a beer and cussing.

It’s all a frenzied effort by a twitchy guy married to a billionaire to pretend to be just like all you little people, and you can bet it’s working just great, because Democrats do love a good fraud as demonstrated by every guy they’ve nominated for president since Walter Mondale, who broke them of nominating genuine people by losing 49 states to Ronald Reagan in 1984.

Anyway, Irish Bob might have taken the ruse just a tad too far on Thursday, when he live-streamed himself talking about the border security crisis while having his teeth cleaned.  That’s right – I swear I don’t make this stuff up. Nothing says ‘presidential material’ to a Democrat voter like showing the inside of your mouth while a dental assistant scrapes the plaque off of your molars.

Ben Jacobs, a political reporter for The Guardian, had the best reaction when he tweeted, “God, I hope Beto doesn’t need a colonoscopy anytime soon.”

Speaking of presidential material… – Former San Antonio Mayor and Obama Administration HUD Secretary Julian Castro is set to announce his own candidacy for the Democrat nomination in his home city on Saturday. Castro’s probably too genuine a person and has too many actual accomplishments on his resume’ to actually win the Democrat nomination, but if he runs a credible race he could make a strong vice presidential pick for a Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren, who would need some youth and minority creds to balance a ticket.

And since we’re talking about Texas here… – President Donald Trump flew to the Rio Grande Valley on Thursday as he continues to make the case that the border crisis is real and justifies a presidential emergency declaration if congress refuses to deal with the issue even now that some federal employees are going to miss a paycheck for the first time. He held a couple of events with Texas officials and Border Patrol officers and said all the right things.

But the real entertainment – and strongest proof that border walls that are already in place do work – came from the most unlikely source imaginable.

Increasingly pathetic CNN fake reporter Jim Acosta, obviously frustrated that he is no longer called upon at presidential press availabilities, decided to strike out on his own to stage scenes that he believed would debunk the Trump Administration’s crisis claims. The results were predictably hilarious.

Here’s the first tweet Acosta sent out at mid-afternoon:

So, what does that tell us?  Doesn’t the lack of any activity whatsoever where the wall is already in place actually support the case that the wall is working?  Why yes, of course it does.

Unsurprisingly, Acosta’s idiotic quest produced all manner of funny comebacks – here’s one from Ben Shapiro:

Here’s another – read the logo on the hat closely:

Oof.

Acosta’s basically the biggest fraud working on television today, and an utter dolt to boot.

Hey, he’d make a great candidate for the Democrat presidential nomination!

That Time President Trump Refused To Play The Democrats Bad Faith Game

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Oh, no, what will the nation do without him in the race? Wait, who’s he again? – Billionaire Tom Steyer – the fake environmental activist who accumulated his wealth via coal investments – announced yesterday that he won’t be running for president, and will instead focus his efforts on bribing and bullying Democrats to impeach President Donald Trump. Thus, he gives up one hopeless, very costly pursuit for another.

Upon reading the “news” of Steyer’s decision not to enter the Democrat nomination race, 98% of Americans will look at their spouse or pet cat and say, “Who the hell is Tom Steyer?” But hey, all but two or three potential Dem candidates will generate the same reaction.

They should put the Chuck and Nancy Show on CBS. They’d fit right in with Murphy Brown, and get better ratings because they’re actually funny. – Speaker San Fran Nan and Senate Minority Leader Chuckie Schumer are becoming a regular item in Washington DC and on social media these days. They’ve appeared together in public more often in the last two weeks than Jeff Bezos and his wife McKenzie have in the last two years.

The pair’s hysterically wooden performance in the wake of President Donald Trump’s border crisis speech Tuesday night spawned more fantastic memes on Twitter than even the demented ignoramus Alexandria Ocasio Cortez has generated since her accidental election last November.  Here’s a great example:

What a hoot they are. Much funnier than Abbot and Costello – can’t wait to see their version of “Who’s on First?” just because I want to see what position they put Kamala Harris in.  (Think about it.)

Anyway, the Chuck and Nancy Show aired another episode outside the White House on Wednesday afternoon following yet another meeting on the border issue to which the pair showed up with no intention to negotiate in good faith. When San Fran Nan rudely interrupted President Trump as he was making his opening statement and passing out candy (really: he passed out candy), saying that she would never agree to any funding for a border wall, Trump said “Then we have nothing to discuss.  Bye-bye!” (apparently a direct quote) and left the room.

That was when Chuck and Nancy scurried out to the leering press assembled outside the White House portico and recited their talking points for all the fake journalists to include in their fake stories on the meeting that had just failed. That’s how the game works.

Despite all the hair-on-fire fake reporting by our fake news media, this was the best thing the President could have done. The worst thing he could have done would have been to make more concessions to the Democrats like those that were made during the working session involving Vice President Mike Pence and Democrat and GOP congressional staff that took place over the weekend, without getting anything from the Dems in return other than the promise to go back to Chuck and Nancy and see what they had to say.

I’ve been in several negotiating sessions with Democrat congressional staff myself over the years, and here’s how that game works.  The Rs agree to make changes in a bill’s language on the condition they get X from the Ds, but the Democrat staffers claim they have to check with their members before they can include X in the bill. But first, they insist on revising the working draft to include the new language so their members can see it better.  The meeting then adjourns with the new concessions from the Rs included in the bill’s working draft.

At the next meeting, the D staffers inform the Rs that their members are not willing to meet their conditions but now insist that the new language remain included in the bill’s working draft because the Rs have already “agreed” with it. If the Rs object, the Ds run to their contacts at the Washington Post and the next morning the Rs are greeted with a WaPo story that accuses them of not negotiating in good faith. The R staffers then get called into their own members’ offices and chastised for screwing things up.

This is the bad-faith game the Ds have played and the Rs have fallen for over many decades now, and it’s exactly what happened related to the border bill over the weekend. President Trump obviously realized that, and is not in any mood to continue playing that particular game.

So he did what any smart negotiator would do when it is obvious the other side has no intention of negotiating in good faith and broke up the useless meeting so he could focus his time and energy on actual productive efforts. It’s just another example of him bringing his tactics from the business world into his role as President.

Good for him. He should begin every future meeting on this topic in exactly the same manner until Pelosi and Schumer either show up prepared to make concessions of their own or send representatives in their place who will. He’s going to get the bad press regardless of what happens because that’s what our fake news media does, so he might as well hold firm until he gets at least part of what he wants.

It sure would be nice if Pence and the other Republicans involved in this process would wake up and behave accordingly. But that’s probably too much to ask of a bunch of people who are afraid of their own shadows when it comes to our fake news media.

That is all.

The Fake Media Disgraces Itself In The Wake Of The President’s Speech

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Your fake news media in action!  – President Trump gave a 9 minute speech on the need for ramped-up border security Tuesday night, and in response, the Associated Press disgraced itself with a “report” on the speech that is so biased that it reads like the work of a 14 year-old writing for the local jr. high newspaper.

The AP report’s very first sentence claims that the President’s speech “was heavy with dark immigration rhetoric but offered little in the way of concessions or new ideas”. The word “dark” has long been one of the fake media/Democrat coalition’s favorite words to describe any proposal or language coming from any GOP president going all the way back to Ronald Reagan. It obviously polls well for them.

The third paragraph of the AP piece dutifully recites the Democrats’ top-line talking point, accusing the President of “appealing to ‘fear, not facts’ and manufacturing a border crisis for political gain.” The AP makes no attempt to analyze the accuracy – or lack thereof – of those accusations by Democrats.  Because of course it doesn’t.

The fifth paragraph is an ode to the Democrat talking points on the partial government “shutdown” which really isn’t a shutdown at all, stating that Mr. Trump “addressed the nation as the shutdown stretched through its third week, with hundreds of thousands of federal workers going without pay and some congressional Republicans growing increasingly jittery about the spreading impact of the impasse.”

Fact:  No federal employee has at this point missed a paycheck due to this “shutdown.”  Not one.

Paragraph #7 accuses the President’s re-election campaign of raising money related to the border crisis, as if that is something unusual.  Politicians of both parties regularly use major public events and crises as events to send out fundraising letters.  It happens all the time, and is hardly a newsworthy event.  The AP would have never dreamed of mentioning this during the Obama years.

Paragraphs #9, #10 and #11 recite more Democrat talking points. You can read them for yourself.

Paragraph #12 is a doozy:  “In his dire address, Trump ticked off a string of statistics and claims to make his case that there is a crisis at the border, but a number of his statements were misleading, such as saying the new trade deal with Mexico would pay for the wall, or suggesting through gruesome examples that immigrants are more likely to commit crime.”

Note the use of the word “dire”, an editorial comment that has no place in a “news” report.  Then there’s the claim that the President was “misleading” in accurately stating that the new trade deal with Mexico will in fact pay for the wall, which it will do many times over in the coming years.  That trade agreement is far more favorable to the U.S. than NAFTA, and will have a significant stimulative impact on the U.S. economy.  The AP is lying here, plain and simple.

That final passage, “suggesting through gruesome examples that immigrants are more likely to commit crime” is yet another AP lie.  An outright, intentional misleading of its audience.  First, the President NEVER claims that “immigrants” are “more likely to commit crime.”  Never.  Not one time.

President Trump does, however, claim that ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS are more likely to commit crime in the U.S., which is unarguably true, and which Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Clinton have also correctly pointed out during their careers. The AP is fully aware of this unarguable FACT, but of course omits it from its fake reporting.

Paragraph #13 is another doozy of fake-newsery.  First sentence:  “Trump, who has long railed against illegal immigration at the border, has recently seized on humanitarian concerns to argue there is a broader crisis that can only be solved with a wall.” In fact, candidate Donald Trump “seized” on humanitarian concerns over the border crisis throughout his 2015 and 2016 presidential campaign.  Time after time after time, in dozens of campaign rallies all across the country.

Somehow, the AP missed it.  Go figure.

Second sentence: “But critics say the security risks are overblown and the administration is at least partly to blame for the humanitarian situation.” “Critics” = Democrats. More talking points, which the AP makes no attempt to analyze in the editorial fashion it reserves for Republicans.

Paragraph #14 accuses the President of using “emotional language” to describe horrific murders and rapes committed in recent years by illegal immigrants, crimes the AP has done its best to studiously ignore, like the recent murder of a California law enforcement officer by an illegal immigrant who had been given sancutary by the Democrat Party’s policies in that state.

Paragraph #15 repeats the outright deception about “immigrants” being less likely to commit crimes, leaving out the word “illegal”, which the AP knows is the true focus of the President’s concerns.

In between those last two paragraphs is a chart that shows the yearly apprehensions along our Southwest border.  This chart was published in early 2018 by the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.  It shows that border apprehensions fell dramatically during President Trump’s first year in office, as potential immigrants became discouraged at the loss of the Obama Administration’s welcoming hand. The AP dishonestly presents this as some sort of proof that there is no crisis at our border.

What the AP report studiously ignores is the well-documented reality that border apprehensions rose dramatically during 2018, as leftist groups in the U.S. ramped up their efforts to organize caravans of immigrants to assault the border. Indeed, apprehensions in May, 2018 were 400% higher than those recorded in April, 2017.

That’s a crisis.

The rest of the AP report is equally disgraceful, but I’m running out of space here.

Our reality is this: There is indeed a crisis at our Southern border. It exists due to 30 years of idiotic open borders policies enacted by a succession of globalist presidents working with pliable congresses, supported by a string of court decisions issued by lawless leftist federal judges. The result of all of that horrific policy-making and court-deciding is that, once illegal immigrants cross into our country it is now virtually impossible for our government to send them back to their home country.

The leaders of the Democrat Party love this situation – despite all of the human- and drug-trafficking and massive human misery that comes along with it – because they view these new illegal aliens as a gigantic future voting bloc. Many U.S. business interests love this situation because they enjoy the cheap labor.  It’s cynical and disgraceful and it is destroying our society.

The only way to effectively combat the situation is to prevent the waves from entering the country in the first place, because once they are here, very few are ever returning home.  The most effective way to prevent their entry is with a wall, plain and simple.

This is a crisis the Democrats and establishment Republicans have created, and it is a crisis President Trump was elected to resolve.

Our fake news media will never tell you any of this, because none of it is in the approved narrative they’ve coordinated with the Democrats in Washington.  But this is our reality, and it is simply unsustainable.

God Bless President Trump for trying to do something about it.

That is all.

Are We Ready For John Roberts To Decide The Wall Fight? Because That Might Happen.

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Time to get that wall built.  – President Donald Trump will deliver a nationally-televised address on the border situation this evening at 8:00 p.m. Central Time, at which time it is rumored that the Evil Orange Man plans to declare a national emergency and order the border wall to be financed via the military budget. This would be an entirely reasonable move for the President to make in the face of an obstructionist congress, one he clearly has the constitutional authority to enter into, one that has all sorts of precedent in American history.

But of course, the national broadcast networks and 24 hour fake news channels – all of whom have agreed to carry the speech live after spending most of Monday afternoon contemplating censoring the President – will be filled with shrill leftist talking heads and hosts who will contend the move is illegal and completely without precedent. They are all professional liars, and liars gonna lie.

No doubt, were the President to declare such an emergency, the way it would all play out is highly predictable. Leftists would file suit in California or Hawaii, where some Obama-appointed “judge” would make up a reason to declare the state of emergency unconstitutional, and that judgment would be upheld by the nitwit majority on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.  The case would then inevitably go to the Supreme Court, where the four reliable constitutionalist justices would vote to reverse the 9th Circuit’s decision, and our nation would then be left at the mercy of Chief Justice John Roberts.

Roberts would have the choice of doing the right thing under the law, or carrying the water for the Deep State, as he did in his Obamacare decision in 2010, and a couple of other key decisions in 2018.  Not a good situation.

But factually, there is no doubt there is ample reason to declare the border situation a national emergency. The levels of drug trafficking, child trafficking and other forms of human trafficking that take place every day across our southern border are scandalous and society-threatening. Hundreds of Americans die every day and hundreds more disappear every day because of the Democrat Party-enforced neglect of the situation. It is a human tragedy of unimaginable proportions and it is scandalous that the Democrats continue to treat the situation as just another political football to be rolled into their Evil Orange Man agenda.

Democrats demanded the networks give them time to respond to the President’s address tonight.  No word if their message will be delivered by representatives from the Sinaloa Cartel and the MS-13 gang, but it seems likely and would be totally appropriate.

In a seemingly unrelated event… – Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was unable to show up to hear oral arguments in the Supreme Court chamber on Monday, the first time she has missed a day on the bench in her 25 years on the Court. Ginsburg, 85, is in extremely frail health and recovering from last month’s surgery to remove two cancerous tumors from her lung.

But hey, because she’s a certified member of the Deep State, she’ll be able to just keep voting on the cases during her absence, which she will supposedly judge from reading transcripts of the oral arguments.  In other words, her clerks will be doing the judging, which they’ve no doubt been doing for quite some time now anyway, as Ginsburg continues her grim quest to outlive the Evil Orange Man’s first term in office.

Aw, heck. – Alleged serial sex-abuser Kevin Spacey had his first court hearing in the initial prosecution against him on Monday, and had another run-in with the law as he tried to return home.  Upon leaving Reagan National Airport in Washington, DC on his drive back to his Baltimore condo, Spacey was pulled over by local cops for …wait for it…A SPEEDING TICKET!  I swear I do not make this stuff up.

Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw has got game. – You may remember Georgia Democrat Congressman Hank Johnson.  He’s the clown who, in a congressional hearing several years back, expressed his genuine concern that, due to its booming population, the island of Guam might actually capsize into the Pacific Ocean.  Think I made that up?  Think again.

Anyway, in a speech over the weekend, the nitwit Johnson had this to say about President Trump and his supporters:

“Much like Hitler took over the Nazi party, Trump has taken over the Republican Party. It’s now known as the Trump Republican Party…Donald Trump’s supporters are older, less educated, less prosperous, and they are dying early. Their lifespans are decreasing, and many are dying from alcoholism, drug overdoses, liver disease, or simply a broken heart caused by economic despair,”

Freshman Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw, after learning of Johnson’s remarks, decided not to take them quietly.  He tweeted out a video in which he took Johnson to task for his incivility.  Here are a couple of outtakes:

“OK Mr. Johnson, President Trump is a lot of things, but he’s not Hitler.  He didn’t kill millions of people. He didn’t start a world war, he doesn’t have any concentration camps, and to accuse him of being Hitler is intellectually dishonest, and frankly a huge insult to the millions of Jews who died under Nazi Germany.”

But it gets better.  Crenshaw also took Johnson to task for his idiotic, dishonest portrayal of Trump supporters:

“You went on to insult, degrade, and demean tens of millions of Americans who voted for him, to call them drug-addicted, uneducated, unhappy alcoholics — this is a cowardly form of politics.”

Crenshaw went on to challenge Johnson to “pick on someone your own size,” reminding him that “my office will be right down the hall from yours.”

Fantastic.

Are Experts Who Are Always Wrong Really “Experts” At All?

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

The rules, they are a-changin’. – Hey, remember when all your Democrat friends were telling you that the appropriation of other cultures by white people was all bad and stuff, or something? Well, apparently that’s all gone by the wayside now that Fauxcahontas, one of the most pasty-white people you have ever seen in your life, is running for president.

That’s right:  Little Mouth Always Running, on her campaign’s website, is now telling us that it is somehow “racist” to criticize her for pretending to be an American Indian in order to get hired at Harvard several decades ago, and for keeping that pretense up as a means of boosting her political career.

So, hey, new rules:  Cultural appropriation is peachy-keen if you’re a leftist lunatic who is borrowing someone else’s culture in order to make money or obtain votes under false pretenses.

*sigh*

Tired of all this #Winning yet? – Why are all the “experts” always so damn shocked by the jobs reports?  So, the U.S. economy added 312,000 new jobs in December, shocking all the eminent high muckety-muck economists, who predicted from their high towers that the number would be more like 180,000.

Of course, it wasn’t just these mysterious “expert” economists who were flummoxed by the wonderful report – the fake news media that has been doing its best to tank the U.S. economy since January 20, 2017 was also in a state of shock about it all.  Here’s a sampling of the headlines this morning:

Associated Press:  US employers went on a surprising[!] hiring spree in December

NPR: U.S. Adds Stronger-Than-Expected[!] 312,000 Jobs

Daily Mail: US economy adds 312,000 jobs in December, nearly DOUBLE[!] the number forecast by economists

CNN: U.S. Nonfarm Payrolls Rise 312,000 in December Vs. 184,000 Expected [Man, you know CNN detested having to report that]

And on and on it went. The hilarious thing about this is that all these same “experts” were also shocked at every jobs report during the Obama years, but they were invariably shocked because the actual numbers were so low when compared to their pie-in-the-sky expectations.

The moral of this story is this:  Just as it is best to never listen to what the Inside-the-Beltway “experts” on your TV screen have to say about politics, it is best to never believe economists our fake news media identifies as “experts” when it comes to the economy.

Speaking of “experts”… – Democrat Senator Ben Cardin came out of a 2-hour meeting on border security at the White House and told Wolf Blitzer on CNN that “experts” are telling the Democrats that walls don’t work.

That, of course, is a damnable lie. There are no “experts” telling the Democrats any such thing, since any true “expert” on the matter has to admit that walls are indeed extremely effective at keeping out intruders.  This has been proven time after time after time in countries all over the world, and even in San Diego, California, where the wall constructed in the 1990s has reduced the illegal immigrant problem by 95%.

Anyone telling the Democrats that walls don’t work is a hack, a liar and most likely a politically-motivated leftist.  Which of course is the only kind of “expert” any of today’s Democrats are willing to listen to. Naturally, Mr. Blitzer had neither the motivation nor the presence of mind to ask Cardin to identify any of these “experts” by name.  Because, CNN.

Let’s close this out with some Twitter fun from Friday:

She was dipping into the family firewater…

I have to watch some paint dry…

Reuters needs to consult with a new Twitter “expert”…

Time for the Democrats to haul out some more fake “experts”…

It’s Austin.  It had to either be Avocados or flour tortillas…

But…but…where’s Fauxcahontas?…

Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw perfectly sums up the AOC Dance Video…

And finally, our fake news media will do anything to protect their beloved Democrats (pardon the obscenity, but it’s apparently going to become just a part of our normal political discourse now)…

*sigh*

Government Shutdown – Trump Needs to Hold Firm This Time

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Better late than never, as they say. – This is the partial government “shutdown” that comes 10 months too late.  This is the one President Donald Trump should have allowed to fester until he got his priorities funded back in February, when he signed a horrific omnibus spending bill that also failed to address border security in any meaningful way.

Those with long memories will recall that the President, upon signing that bloated monstrosity, declared he would never sign another omnibus like it. He also promised to never sign another one that did not effectively address border security.

He is not faced with an “omnibus” spending bill this time, but he is faced with yet another situation in which Democrats in the Senate refuse to do anything that would have the effect of controlling America’s right to remain a sovereign nation, which it cannot and will not continue to be without border security. The Democrats know this, and do not care. This is the reality we are all faced with in America today.

Had the President held firm in February and allowed what would have been a “shutdown” of about 14% of the federal government to continue until the Democrats caved, he may well have saved the Republican majority in the House of Representatives. Instead, by signing that bill, he allowed Paul Ryan and the rest of the GOP congressional leadership to commit political suicide by yet again abandoning all of their campaign promises in the name of political expediency.

The President seems intent on holding firm this time, but we have seen this act before, and it always ends with him caving in to pressure from Ryan, Mitch McConnell and his own White House advisors, and signing something that they assure him will make all the bad media coverage end.

Of course, back in February, their argument was, “Mr. President, you must sign this awful bill because it will allow us to win the mid-terms!” President Trump saw how that all worked out, as did we all. So he might be a little harder to move this time, with no elections coming up for two years and a new Democrat majority about to seize control of the House in a couple of weeks.

The President also seems to understand that, despite all his myriad other accomplishments in office, he is beginning to lose some of his base due to his failure to get much of anything done on what was the central issue of his campaign. He has options in this fight that he has thus far chosen not to use, for whatever reason.

One option is to simply declare the lack of border security a national security emergency and divert funds from the Department of Defense to fund the building of a wall. This is one of several issues on which Trump clashed with outgoing Defense Secretary James Mattis, and could have been a factor in Mattis’s decision to resign.

Whatever, all we can do is wait and see if the President will hold firm this time, at long last. It may be too late to save the Republican House, but it’s not too late to save the country.

That is all.

Dear Media: That Oval Office Dust Up Is Why Trump Won

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Beto Mania Update:  A guy calling himself “Michael Falotico” (it may be his real name, but you just never know on social media these days) on Twitter responded to my “Day of Beto” yesterday by saying “Yes, I agree with you that Beto will be the Democrats’ nominee for President in 2020. I may differ with you, however, in that I think he could win the whole thing, i.e., get elected President.”

Well, we don’t differ at all, Michael. Sitting here almost two years prior to Election Day 2020, I also think Beto will be the Dem nominee and “could” well win the general election to become the 46th president of the United States. Admittedly, the odds are against all of that happening for our favorite fake Hispanic Texan, but hey, stranger things have happened – just happened in 2016, in fact, and in 2008 before that.

2008 is especially relevant where Irish Bob is concerned. As I told an audience a few weeks ago, there is no doubt that many national Democrat honchos and money handlers see Irish Bob as their next Barack Obama: A young, handsome, slick talker who does well on TV and can get the ignorant masses riled up, a human blank slate who looks good in a suit onto which all of their party’s various agitated factions can project their fondest dreams. Other than his skin color and the fact that there is no doubt he was born in the United States of America, Irish Bob is in fact a virtual Obama clone.

Yes, O’Rourke is a completely unqualified socialist crackpot. But Irish Bob is a real threat here, precisely because the Democrats already proved in 2008 that the American public can be brainwashed into accepting a completely unqualified socialist crackpot to lead the country down the road to ruin.

So yeah, he “could” win it all, and despite my fondness for making fun of him (it’s low-hanging fruit, I know, but I have no shame in that regard) I do take the prospect of him very seriously. President Trump and all other Republicans should do the same.

Speaking of President Donald J. Trump… – Make no mistake about it, despite the all-fake-all-the-time reporting all over the news media about his live-televised dust up with San Fran Nan and Chuck Schumer in the Oval Office, the President pummeled his Democrat opponents.  All you have to do is look at the body language from the two Democrats as the thing went on to know that.

Schumer was so intimidated that he couldn’t look the President in the eye the entire time. Pelosi was so flustered she had a hard time remembering which branch of government she represented.

Meanwhile, the President got exactly what he wanted:

  • Both Pelosi and Schumer begging him to shoo the leering press out of the room;
  • Both Pelosi and Schumer railing against doing anything effective to improve border security; and
  • Trump promising to shut down 14% of the federal government if he doesn’t get significant funding for the border wall in a government funding bill that must be passed by December 21.

That third point had #NeverTrump dimwits like A.B. Stoddard and Bill Kristol cackling that Trump had somehow “lost” in this debate, which simply proves that she and her fellow dimwits still have learned absolutely nothing about the current President. Their thesis is that now Trump will get blamed for any government shutdown and oh, my, isn’t that terrible for him.

Well, hell, Trump couldn’t care less about that. The media blames him for everything that happens in any event – what else would be new in that scenario? If you’re the President, might as well embrace that deal and own it.

The spectacle of Pelosi and Schumer begging the President to take the discussion behind closed doors just proves yet again that the Democrats care nothing about government transparency. Trump revels in this stuff, and is thrilled to be the one guy sitting in that room advocating for the need for increased border security, which is a winning issue for the Republicans, not the Democrats.

Stuff like what happened in the Oval Office yesterday is exactly why Trump won in the first place. He wasn’t put in that job to have nice, polite discourse with swamp-dwelling snakes like Pelosi and Schumer behind closed doors. He was put in that job to break all the china, stain all the carpets and color all the walls with crayons in the D.C. Establishment’s comfortable abode.

Yesterday was a very good day for Donald Trump. Don’t let the fake news media kid you otherwise.

My only question is, why was that Mike Pence mannequin sitting in that other chair?

In 17 minutes, did not manage to utter a word. What good is he?

Congress Won’t Defend America’s Borders, So President Trump Will Do it for Them

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Tired of all this Winning yet?  Part I – President Donald Trump’s job approval rating in the Rasmussen Survey – the most accurate poll throughout the 2016 campaign season – rose again on Wednesday, to 51%.  On the same date in his first term in office, Barack Obama’s approval rating stood at 46%.  The new poll result caused enraged fake reporters and social justice warriors’ heads to explode across the country.

Tired of all this Winning yet?  Part II – The Trump economy continued to roar, with the ADP/Moody’s private sector survey of payrolls showing that 241,000 jobs were added in February, well above the expectation of 205,000.  The rapid creation of private sector jobs, along with the tax cuts taking effect in people’s paychecks, most likely has a lot to do with the President’s strong job approval.  Go figure.

Formerly amusing late-night comic Jimmy Kimmel used part of his monologue Wednesday night to mock First Lady Melania Trump’s accent, as he played a tape of her reading a book to children at the White House Easter Egg Roll.  No one could confirm whether or not the First Lady responded by calling him a simpleton in each and every one of the five languages that she speaks fluently, but she should have.

As the caravan of Honduran “refugees” began to dissolve south of Mexico City on Wednesday, President Trump signed an executive order sending national guard troops to patrol the Southern border, saying the action is necessary since congress refuses to act to change the country’s idiotic open borders immigration rules.

Following the signing, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen told reporters that her department would be working with state officials in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and California to activate and deploy the guard personnel and equipment that will be assigned to the border.  That was all expected.

What came next, though, was somewhat surprising to the fake journalists at the presser.  In response to a question about the President’s recent comments that he might use the military budget to fund the building of his long-promised border wall, Sec. Nielsen said:

“What [Trump] meant is there are some lands that the Defense Department owns right on the border where we see illicit activity,” Nielsen said during a White House press briefing. “We’re looking into options for the military to build wall or military installations on the border.”

And so it begins.  Isn’t it ironic that Pueblas sin Fronteras, the radical open borders group that organized the caravan of Hondurans, has in fact provided Mr. Trump the justifying event for deploying the National Guard to the border – thus providing the enhanced border security congress refuses to fund – and which in turn is going to provide the pretext for using part of the beefed-up military budget for constructing at least part of a border wall?  Because that’s exactly what has taken place here since the President first began tweeting about the caravan on Saturday.

If you still buy into the fake news media/Democrat narrative that the President just belches random stuff out onto his Twitter feed while eating ice cream in bed with no plan in mind, well, there’s really not much anyone can do for you, is there?

By the way, if you’re thinking this is all Mr. Trump is going to do related to taking executive action to enhance border security, you might want to hold that thought.  One of the aspects of illegal immigration policy that the President has complained about in recent days is the so-called “catch and release” policy.

Under this policy – which we can lay at the feet of George W. Bush and Karl Rove, who began it – illegal immigrants who are caught coming across the southern border are briefly held while their personal information is recorded by border officials, and then just released on their own recognizance while awaiting a hearing before an immigration judge.  Obviously, the vast majority of these folks simply vanish into the interior of the country and never show up for said hearing.

This policy is not a part of immigration law.  It was created via an executive order by former President Bush, and happily continued throughout the Obama years.  While Mr. Trump has repeatedly criticized the policy, he has not taken action to rescind the Bush order, or to formally issue guidance to border officials to halt its enforcement.

It isn’t being reported anywhere in the fake news media right now, but there are two main reasons why Mr. Trump has kept this policy in place:

  • Absent the creation of more immigration judges, the illegals currently being released into the general population will have to be held, probably for months, in detention centers, and congress has failed to provide additional funding for the creation of more such judges; and
  • While the Obama Administration did for a time hold hundreds of illegal immigrants in such detention centers along the border – centers that still exist – the media studiously ignored reporting on them.  In a Trump Administration, we can bet the fake news media would focus on such centers every day in an effort to portray them as modern-day concentration camps.

To this point, the President has no doubt been convinced by his advisors not to take any action on “catch and release” for these reasons.  But it is obvious that Mr. Trump is now fed up with the current status quo, and is going to act on his own to enhance the nation’s border security in pretty much any way he can.

You should expect Mr. Trump to formally rescind the Bush order in the coming days, and then prepare yourselves for all the “concentration camp” stories that will become ubiquitous on CNN and the broadcast networks in the following weeks and months.  Because that is what the fake news media does.

Just another day in no more open borders America.

That is all.

President Trump is Laying the Groundwork for Executive Action on the Border Situation

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

There is just no good reason why any average citizen needs to own g…er…knives? – The murder rate in London surpassed that of New York City for the first time ever in February, as Islamic-driven knife killings continue to grow in the gun-banning metropolis.  As of this writing, no one at CNN had asked David Hogg for his views on London’s pressing need to ban knives.  But it seems to be just a matter of time.

Speaking of the ever-more annoying Mr. Hogg, he’s gonna have some ‘splainin’ to do with his CNN masters next time he goes in for an interview.  That’s because on Sunday he made the mistake of posing for a photo with Javier Manjarres, a Republican congressional candidate who is challenging Democrat incumbent Ted Deutch.

As if the sin of paling around with a – gasp! – Republican wasn’t damning enough in the eyes of everyone at the fakest of all fake news outlets, Hogg’s error was made even more unforgivable by the fact that Manjarres was wearing a t-shirt that depicts President Donald Trump urinating on the CNN logo (see below).  Oh, my, CNN might have to go find itself another gun-banning teenager to exploit.

Headlines we never saw during the Obama years… – The Wall Street Journal reports that the big economic issue facing Iowa and much of the rest of the American midwest is that there are too many jobs and not enough workers to fill them.

According to the Journal:

“It is a problem playing out in many parts of the Midwest, a region with lower unemployment and higher job-opening rates than the rest of the country. Employers, especially in more rural areas, are finding that there are just too few workers. That upends a long-running view in Washington, D.C., and many state capitals, where policy makers often say the unemployed simply lack the skills to get hired.”

Should the pace of economic growth and job creation experienced in the 14 months of the Trump Administration continue for another 14 months, this midwest-based “problem” will inevitably spread to other parts of the country.  This is an almost inevitable outcome as the overall economy approaches full employment.

Of course, there will be exceptions to the rule, isolated pockets of the country where chronic unemployment levels will persist and people will remain addicted to the public dole.  Those pockets of economic under-performance are easy to predict:  They go by names like Chicago, Washington, DC, Baltimore, Detroit, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New Orleans, Philadelphia and other big cities that have been governed by Democrats for decades.  It’s the way Democrat politicians like it to be.

DACA is dead, and NAFTA could be next, if Mexican officials don’t act to halt the caravan of more than 1200 Central American nationals that has been making its way through their country unimpeded over the last few days.  At least, that’s what President Trump said on his Twitter feed yesterday and early this morning, and as we have seen so many times in the past, the President doesn’t just toss stuff like this out there for no good reason.

The tweet storm began on Sunday morning, with these two Presidential messages:

“Border Patrol Agents are not allowed to properly do their job at the Border because of ridiculous liberal (Democrat) laws like Catch & Release. Getting more dangerous. “Caravans” coming. Republicans must go to Nuclear Option to pass tough laws NOW. NO MORE DACA DEAL!”

and..

“Mexico is doing very little, if not NOTHING, at stopping people from flowing into Mexico through their Southern Border, and then into the U.S. They laugh at our dumb immigration laws. They must stop the big drug and people flows, or I will stop their cash cow, NAFTA. NEED WALL!”

Mr. Trump expanded on this theme with three more tweets this morning, concluding with:

“DACA is dead because the Democrats didn’t care or act, and now everyone wants to get onto the DACA bandwagon… No longer works. Must build Wall and secure our borders with proper Border legislation. Democrats want No Borders, hence drugs and crime!”

So, after 7 months of publicly holding out hope that the cynical Democrats might want to make a deal in which DACA gets extended in exchange for wall funding and other immigration reforms, the President has finally figured out that the Dems never had any intention of making any such deal, preferring instead to keep the DACA kids in limbo so they can exploit the issue in the November midterm elections.  Ok, he knew that all along, but it’s good to see him abandoning all pretense, and calling things as they really are.

The problem the President has here is that there is literally no reason at all to expect the Senate Republicans to “go nuclear” or even lift a finger at all in an effort to change the immigration laws.  At least half of the GOP caucus in the senate favors chain migration and the insane “diversity lottery” system in their eagerness to attract campaign money from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Sadly, it is up to the President alone to stop the ongoing invasion coming across our southern border.  If the President wants to build his long-promised wall, he’ll have to find a way to get it done using his emergency powers and the defense budget, as we discussed last week.  Expecting Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell to do anything about it is just a waste of time and energy.

Given the President’s past use of his Twitter feed as a prelude to taking action, we should expect him to take some form of emergency executive action to address the border situation in the coming days.

Just another day in the southern invasion continues and congress doesn’t care America.

That is all.

Welcome To The DC Swamp’s Never-Ending Clown Show!

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • What time do Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi arrive? – A group of professional clowns will be holding a rally tonight outside a New York City movie theater where the film “It” is currently showing.  The clowns claim the movie is killing their clown business, with a spokesman for the group claiming he and his partner have had six cancellations in the last couple of weeks because of the film.  No word on who will be manning the anchor desks at CNN, ABC, CBS and NBC while the clown rally is happening.
  • Deal?  Or no Deal? – Speaking of Pelosi and Schumer, they had dinner with President Trump last night, and the discussion obviously centered around what to do about all those poor DACA children (average age, 26) and border security.  Obviously, discussion over a compromise took place, but given the conflicting statements issued by the Democrats and the White House following the dinner, the essential elements of said discussion are very much in dispute.
  • The Democrats issued a statement indicating that a final deal had been cut that would provide additional funding for border security measures – excluding the building of a border wall – in exchange for enshrinement of the DACA provisions contained in Barack Obama’s illegal executive order into law.  The Democrats promised to get to work on legislative language – which they no doubt already have drafted, let’s be honest – posthaste.  Done deal, right?
  • Not so fast, my friend! – Well, not according to White House spokesman Marc Short, who said the Democrats’ statement was – knock me over with a feather! – “misleading.”  “While DACA and border security were both discussed, excluding the wall was certainly not agreed to”, Short said,  “no deal on DACA or border wall $$ was reached tonight.”  So once again, the Democrats got caught spiking the ball before they made it to the endzone, kind of like any random running back for the Cleveland Browns.
  • It’s Twitter time! – For his part, the President naturally waited until 5:00 a.m. to chime in on Twitter about the matter, stating in part, “No deal was made last night on DACA. Massive border security would have to be agreed to in exchange for consent. Would be subject to vote.”  Ok, so, what was that all about, anyway?
  • Well, what it was all about is that this is the obvious general deal to be struck on these two interrelated matters.  The President cannot get the increased border security funding he wants without votes from Democrats, 98% of whom don’t give a damn about border security.  Democrats do give a damn about filling our country with as many third world immigrants as they can, because they view them as future Democrat voters, but they can’t enshrine this 800,000 strong bloc of future DACA voters without votes from Republicans and support from the White House.  They know that DACA provisions do not give the “Dreamers” citizenship or voting rights, but they do allow them to become permanent U.S. residents who can find ways to vote illegally, as happens in Democrat-controlled areas all over the country.  It’s pathetic, it’s un-American, but this is how Democrat minds work.
  • GOP congressional leadership, meanwhile, doesn’t really give a damn about increased border funding either, though they have to pretend to be in order to stave off 2018 primary challengers.  But they do want DACA extended, because the Chamber of Commerce wants as many cheap workers as they can get into this country, so they’re perfectly happy to let the President work out a deal with the Democrats.  They’ll whine loudly about whatever deal is made, just as they did with the President/Pelosi/Schumer deal on budget/debt ceiling/hurricane funding, but then they’ll go out and pass it in a matter of days, again just as they did with the previous deal.
  • Establishment Republicans thus get the best of all sides in any such deal, as they get the policy preferences they want but are absolved of all responsibility for them.  They get to go back to their districts in 2018 and say, “Well, you know, I didn’t like that deal, but (*sigh*), well, the President agreed to it, so I had to just go along,” and hope their sucker constituents will fall for the BS again, just as they’ve fallen for it over the previous three election cycles.  It’s pathetic, it’s un-American, but this is how establishment Republican minds work.
  • So, what last night’s conflicting messages amount to is a preview of the DACA/border security deal to come.  All that really remains to be worked out is to find a way for the President to agree to the deal while saving face on the border wall, which the Democrats will never agree to fund, and which GOP congressional leadership has no real intention of seeking.
  • Again, it’s pathetic, it’s un-American, but this is how Washington DC works.

Just another day in this is how it all works America.

That is all.
