Andrew Cuomo could be in real trouble, finally. – I know it’s hard to believe that any Democrat public official in this country could ever be in real trouble, given the devoted efforts of the entirety of the corrupt national news media to provide cover for them. Least of all, Andrew Cuomo, who the media has virtually deified during the COVID pandemic, pretending that his utterly disastrous responses to the virus were somehow a role model for other governors to emulate.
But he really could be in trouble now, mainly because even his fellow Democrats in New York are beginning to turn against him in the wake of revelations that his administration systematically and intentionally under-reported the number of elderly residents who were dying in the state’s nursing homes, thanks mainly to Cuomo’s policy of sending them to those homes from hospitals before their course of treatment had ended, and while they were still contagious. It seems that even some Democrats don’t really want to be seen as supporting a governor who is responsible for the needless deaths of thousands of their own people.
On Wednesday, Democrat state representative Ron Kim told reporters that Cuomo had threated to “destroy” him if he didn’t help Cuomo chief of staff Melissa DeRosa cover up the administration’s systematic under-reporting of nursing home deaths, an effort DeRosa herself led on Cuomo’s behalf.
From a story at The Hill:
New York Assemblyman Ron Kim (D) told CNN on Wednesday that Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) had threatened him over the phone after he criticized the governor over a pause in the release of data on coronavirus deaths in state nursing homes.
“Gov. Cuomo called me directly on Thursday to threaten my career if I did not cover up for Melissa [DeRosa] and what she said. He tried to pressure me to issue a statement, and it was a very traumatizing experience,” Kim told CNN.
“We’re in this business together and we don’t cross certain lines,” Kim said the governor told him. He also said Cuomo told him that he “hadn’t seen his wrath and that he can destroy me.”
Top Cuomo aide Melissa DeRosa told state lawmakers during a virtual meeting that the Cuomo administration “froze” releasing information on long-term care facility deaths out of concern that the Department of Justice (DOJ) under former President Trump would launch a federal investigation.

Oh. Bad optics, there, Governor. But not really surprising given his family’s historic ties to the New York mob.
But things are just getting worse for the thug-in-chief. This morning, multiple outlets are reporting that Cuomo now finds himself under investigation by both the FBI and the New York State Attorney General’s office.
BREAKING: FBI, U.S. Attorney Investigating Cuomo Administration Over Nursing Home Deaths https://t.co/lc10hJXDiq pic.twitter.com/goNPnyS60x

From the story at DailyWire:
New York Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo is under investigation by the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, as well as the FBI, for his administration’s decision to send recovering coronavirus patients into nursing homes and other long-term care facilities, local New York media reported Wednesday night.
According to the Albany Times-Union, the U.S. Attorney’s investigation is in its “early stages” but is focusing on Cuomo’s controversial nursing home policy, which may have resulted in thousands of deaths, many more than the Cuomo administration originally reported.
“The probe by the U.S. attorney’s office in the Eastern District of New York is apparently in its early stages and is focusing on the work of some of the senior members of the governor’s task force, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter who is not authorized to comment publicly,” the Times-United noted.
“Last March, as the virus began spreading in New York, Cuomo issued a news release listing the 13 initial members of his coronavirus task force, which has been headed by Linda Lacewell, an attorney and former chief of staff for Cuomo,” the outlet reported. “Lacewell is the superintendent of the state Department of Financial Services. Other task force members include state health Commissioner Howard Zucker, Secretary to the Governor Melissa DeRosa and Beth Garvey, counsel to the governor.”
The governor’s office acknowledged to the Times-Union that there is a Department of Justice investigation but insisted that there was no news to report on the subject.

As for the New York AG’s office, well, who knows? We’ll just have to wait and see on that one. It should be noted, though, that Rep. Kim is far from the only Democrat in the state who has come out to criticize Cuomo over this matter, so the pressure on that office to perform a real investigation will be significant.
Meanwhile, Cuomo’s little brother Fredo has been reined in by management at CNN, and won’t be allowed to engage in late-night shenanigans and hilarity with his big bro as New Yorkers die all around them anymore.
CNN Bans Chris Cuomo From Covering Scandal-Ridden Brother As Criminal Investigation Starts: Report https://t.co/0Dpw8FOpNx pic.twitter.com/PHpdQUJuDD
— The Daily Wire (@realDailyWire) February 18, 2021
From the story at DailyWire:
CNN reinstated a ban this week on opinion host Chris Cuomo being able to interview or cover his scandal-ridden brother, New York Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo, which comes as reports surfaced on Wednesday evening that a criminal investigation has been launched into Andrew Cuomo’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic as it relates to nursing homes.
“The early months of the pandemic crisis were an extraordinary time. We felt that Chris speaking with his brother about the challenges of what millions of American families were struggling with was of significant human interest,” CNN said in a statement. “As a result, we made an exception to a rule that we have had in place since 2013 which prevents Chris from interviewing and covering his brother, and that rule remains in place today. CNN has covered the news surrounding Governor Cuomo extensively.”

That pusillanimous statement from CNN is what we here on the frozen arctic tundra of Texas like to call a rank, smelly load of fresh horse manure. Scum of the earth, all of them.
Speaking of scum of the earth, Bette Midler was also in the news on Wednesday. – The elderly, washed-up singer summed up the feelings of all of her fellow Hollywood leftists about the fact that 4 million Texans are freezing without electricity right now in a single tweet:
"Inept" is the wrong word. "Hateful", "Vicious", "Cruel" might all apply. I feel for the people suffering thru this weather, but #God doesn't seem to like #TedCruz or #JohnCornyn. These two also never recognized that #Joe won. If this isn't payback, I don't know what is. https://t.co/58nrn22cxF

Midler’s ghoulish tweet was actually sort of mild in comparison to the outpouring of vile hatred from the left in response to the death yesterday of the great Rush Limbaugh. I’m not going to repeat any of it here, but suffice it to say that our leftist friends invariably unmask their true faces to us whenever a prominent conservative dies.
I keep telling you these people hate you and would rather you were dead, folks. Believe me now?
That is all.
