The Week in Review: No Good Deed By Donald Trump Goes Unpunished

The Campaign Update Week in Review

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

President Donald Trump was in both Montana and Florida for rallies on Saturday.  Think about that for a minute:  He’s based in Washington, D.C.  He gets up in the morning, gets his daily security briefing, then hops on Marine One – after chatting with the hostile fake news media for a little bit – which takes him to Joint Base Andrews.

There, he boards Air Force One for the 5-hour flight out to Belgrade, Montana.  He spends an hour speaking to an audience of thousands of Montanans – with thousands more watching on large video screens outside the venue – then he hops back on Air Force One for the 2,000 mile, 5-hour flight down to Pensacola, Florida.

There, he again spends an hour speaking to thousands of Floridians, with a huge crowd of thousands more gathered outside, and then hops back on Air Force One for the 1-hour flight to his resort at Mar-a-Lago.  Presumably, he got some sleep there.

This is a 72 year-old man.  By the way, this is a 72 year-old man who works for free.  He donates his presidential salary every quarter to a different worthy cause, an act of generosity that goes unreported by our fake news media.

While Democrats, their agents in the fake news media and even many of his Republican colleagues bitch and moan about him spending too much time at Mar-a-Lago and the other properties he owns on weekends, the fact of the matter is that most normal men his age and wealth status would be spending all of their time playing golf while the kids take over the family business.  Instead, Donald Trump is spending his time presiding over a nation experiencing a booming economy and relative peace and stability in the world.

For delivering all of that, he has been rewarded with 92% negative fake media coverage, hostile and violent rhetoric coming from all corners of pop culture and the education establishment, unending assassination threats from entertainers and social media, and a special counsel investigation that has now lingered on for 17 months.

Our nation has an odd way of rewarding all this WINNING.

Trump in Montana:  Purple mountains majesties above the fruited plain!

Let’s go to the Week in Review:

  • It was the week that one of Brett Kavanaugh’s Democrat-recruited accusers admitted not only that she lied to the Senate Judiciary Committee, but that she has in fact never even met Justice Kavanaugh.  If you’re surprised by this, you haven’t been paying attention.
  • It was the week that leftist lawyers for a dozen “migrants” who have never set foot in the United States of America were allowed to file a lawsuit in federal court against a sitting President.  Because, rights, or something.
  • It was the week that a campaign staffer for Democrat Andrew Gillum was arrested for throwing her milk at a group of college Republicans.  Because, hey, this is what the media has empowered her to do.
  • It was the week that multiple staffers for Irish Bob O’Rourke were caught on video illegally using campaign funds to send money to the “migrant caravan” in Mexico, and the Texas news media shamed itself by parrotting the O’Rourke campaign’s talking points and ignoring the video evidence.  Again, if this surprises you, you haven’t been paying attention.
  • It was the week the fake news media completely forgot about that Khashoggi guy, and so did every other American.
  • It was the week that the Democrats and their media agents mounted a coordinated effort to define any effort to criticize the despicable, anti-American, anti-Israel George Soros as “anti-Semitic” hate speech.  Holy crap.
  • It was the week that Democrat Supreme Court Justice Sonya Sotomayor said in one breath that she often would have used a baseball bat on the late Antonin Scalia if she had had one handy, but in the next breath said that “differences don’t stand, necessarily, on ill will.”  I swear I don’t make this stuff up.
  • It was the week this happened:

*sigh*

  • It was the week a former high-profile campaign worker for Barack Hussein Obama was arrested for spraying anti-Semitic graffiti and attempting to burn down a Jewish Synagogue, and the fake news media studiously ignored his connection to the former President:

  • It was the week garbage human being Alec Baldwin got arrested, yet again:

  • It was the week President Trump re-instituted all previous sanctions on Iran and added a few more.  This came after two days of fake media reports that his Administration was backing off of most of them.  Fake news, defined.
  • It was the week that Morning Joe guest pinhead Donny Deutsch actually said that Donald Trump was elected to the presidency because “I don’t think we were ready for a black president.” Quick:  Someone tell Donny that we actually elected a black president, TWICE.  My goodness.
  • It was the week that this happened:

Are there really real, actual Texans who care what John Brennan thinks about our senate race?  Really???
  • It was the week that CNN fake host Don Lemon told America – or, well, the tiny little sliver of leftist America that still watches CNN – that our biggest terror threat is “white men,” and CNN’s management endorsed his statement.  Again, if this surprised you, you need to pay closer attention.
  • It was the week we discovered that MSNBC’s Katy Tur is, um, geographically-challenged:

  • It was the week that CNN morning host Alyisin Camerota’s tiny little brain exploded when a guest didn’t follow the narrative:

  • It was the week that fake pollsters, on the same day in Arizona, gave us results that said Democrat Kyrsten Sinema was leading by 4 points and Republican Martha McSally was leading by 7.  And some of you wonder why I have a negative view of our nation’s polling industry.
  • It was the week that the editorial board at the Houston Chronicle beclowned itself by endorsing Irish Bob O’Rourke in his race against Ted Cruz because O’Rourke plays well with others.  *sigh*
  • It was the week that this happened:

There was so much more, but I’m running out of energy here.  After all, I’m not a 72 year-old guy who works for free.
That is all.

Everybody Send a Thank-you Card to Mitch McConnell

The Evening Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

You could tell Anthony Kennedy was about to retire, because he suddenly started voting consistently the right way on decision after decision after decision over the past month.  Indeed, the last 17 5-4 decisions handed down by this Supreme Court all went the way of the Constitution because Kennedy, that perennial disappointment to conservatives everywhere, voted along with the strict constructionist wing of the court.

All this new-found consistency for the first time in his 31 years on the court led me to comment to a friend the other day that Kennedy was definitely about to retire because he wasn’t issuing his usual random  horrible liberal decisions in order to keep his name on the list of invitees to all the best dinner parties in Washington, DC.

Regardless, today’s announcement came as welcome news, meaning as it does that President Donald J. Trump will be able to appoint a true conservative successor who will allow the Supreme Court to continue to serve as a consistent block on the worst excesses of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals for a few more years.  While I have nothing but the highest regard for the great Clarence Thomas, I find myself hoping he will make a similar announcement soon so that we don’t have to worry about his passing away at a dangerous moment as Antonin Scalia did in 2016.

Speaking of 2016, let’s all consider where our country would be today were it not for the steadfast refusal by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to consider confirmation of Obama nominee Merrick Garland, who would have cemented a liberal majority on the Court for years to come.  Every one of those 17 5-4 decisions handed down by this session of the court, and many more would have gone the other way.

The free exercise of religion and speech would today be all but gone as a result.  Labor unions would now enjoy an unfettered right to tax non-union employees and funnel their money to the Democrat Party.  The presidential power to temporarily ban immigration from certain countries to protect American citizens would be a thing of the past.  So many of the freedoms we have taken for granted all of our lives would be in real jeopardy from a power-mad, hard-left supreme court.

Mitch McConnell, for all of his shortcomings and all the many, many times he has disappointed us over the years, made sure none of those things happened to our society.  He did it in the face of extreme pressure from some of his squishy GOP colleagues (you all know who I’m talking about), and a withering assault on his personal character from the Democrat goon squad in our fake news media.

The easy thing for McConnell to do in that situation would have been to throw up his hands, say “them’s the rules” even though they aren’t, and preserve his own permanent invitation to all the best dinner parties by allowing the Court – and the nation – to become captive of the radical left.  But McConnell did the hard thing, and for that he deserves everyone’s undying gratitude.

Thanks, Mr. Majority Leader, and God bless you.

That is all.

Trump and North Korea: Proof The Reagan Doctrine Works

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Barbara Bush, America’s matriarch, Rest In Peace.

Tired of all this Winning yet?  – It turns out that not everybody in California is crazy after all.  On Tuesday, the San Diego County board of supervisors became the latest local government to vote to support the Trump Administration’s lawsuit challenging the Golden State’s sanctuary state law.  The County joins neighboring Orange County and cities like San Juan Capistrano, Los Alamitos, Huntington Beach, Aliso Viejo, Mission Viejo and Escondido in opposing the state’s open borders law.

All of the cities and counties listed above are, of course, at the southern end of the state, and thus bear the brunt of the negative impacts of open borders policies advocated by Governor Jerry Brown and the state’s openly seditious Democrat Party.  Some may characterize these actions as futile gestures, but the intervention into lawsuits like this by impacted parties play a key role in the judicial process.  In this case, they show that there are still people in California who care about the good of the country as a whole, which is a very gratifying thing indeed.

When you appoint a true strict constructionist justice, you get strict constructionist decisions. – Many observers were surprised on Tuesday when the Supreme Court issued an immigration-related decision in which Trump appointee Neil Gorsuch sided with the four liberals on the court to deal the administration a setback.  The case revolved around how U.S. deportation law defines a violent crime for the purpose of deporting illegal immigrants to their home country.  Gorsuch joined the court’s liberal minority in ruling that the definition was overly vague and thus unenforceable under the Constitution.

Anyone who is surprised by his ruling should make themselves aware that, in 2015, the man Gorsuch replaced on the court, the late Antonin Scalia, ruled that similar language in a law imposing longer prison sentences on repeat offenders was also unconstitutional for the same reason.  Thus, while this decision by Gorsuch is inconvenient for the Trump administration, the fact that he ruled as he did should actually be encouraging to anyone who calls themselves a conservative.

Liberals opposed Gorsuch because they believed he would be a down-the-line strict constructionist, like Justice Scalia.  Turns out, they were right for once.

“In today’s news, North and South Korean end war, now back to rolling video of a porn star.” – Lost in all the fake news media frenzy over porn stars and Sean Hannity lawyers yesterday was the amazingly consequential announcement by South Korea leaders that they are meeting with the leaders of North Korea this week to change the 65 year-old armistice agreement between the two countries into the formal ending to the state of war between them.  After pretty much burying the story yesterday, the fake news media and Democrat paid liars will no doubt spend today trying to tell us all how Barack Obama somehow deserves credit for this amazing turn of events.

The truth, of course, is that everything Obama did related to the situation on the Korean peninsula during his 8 disastrous years in office simply made the situation worse, and this current easing of tensions there is purely President Trump’s doing.  Later in the day, the President also announced to the slack-jawed White House press corps of fake journalists that the administration was already engaged with North Korean emissaries in negotiations “at very high levels.”  Early this morning, the President tweeted that Secretary of State nominee Mike Pompeo had actually met with North Korea’s Crazy Little Fat Guy late last week, characterizing the meeting as having gone “very smoothly.”:

Obviously, we are still a long way from real denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, but there is real progress taking place in that direction, a progress that our three prior administrations spent a quarter of a century failing to advance.  There is no magic to any of this – what Trump has been doing with the Crazy Little Fat Guy is promoting the Reagan Doctrine of “Peace through strength.”  24 years of appeasement policies only emboldened and enabled the succession of three different Kim dictators to pursue their nuclear ambitions, pretty much with impunity.

Now that a leader of the United States has demonstrated clearly that this country is willing to confront not only North Korea, but also its benefactors in China on the matter, we see this sudden desire to engage in real negotiations.  Amazing how that works.  Well, amazing to liberals and fake journalists, anyway.

Just another day in appeasement never works America.

That is all.
