Monday News Roundup: Rand Paul is Done With Fauci and Cuomo Scurries for Cover

The Mid-Day Campaign Update

“My fellow Republican senators have tried to see things from the Speaker’s point of view, but we can’t get our heads that far up our rear ends.” – Louisiana Senator John Kennedy on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo just now, talking about Pelosi’s $3 trillion “stimulus bill” atrocity.

Oops, he did it again. – Remember how serial alarmist Anthony Fauci warned that we would see a spike in Wuhan Virus cases in states that opened up their economies early? Yeah, that’s not happening, according to HHS Secretary Alex Azar. Appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union” program with Snake Jake Tapper, Azar had this to say about that:

“We are seeing that in areas that are opening, we’re not seeing the spike in cases. We still see spikes in some areas that are, in fact, closed, very localized situations. And so this is going to be very important for us to watch the circumstances on the ground. With reopening, what’s the key to reopening?”

Thus, as with every other prediction Fauci has made related to this Chinese plague over the past four months, he turns out to have been wrong. When are we going to quit listening to this guy?

Rand Paul is certainly grown weary of Fauci’s faulty advice. – In a weekend interview with NewsMax TV’s Greg Kelly, Senator Paul had this to say about Fauci’s contention that we need to keep schools closed through the fall semester:

“The future is difficult and we shouldn’t assume that one guy with a Ph.D. or an M.D. knows everything about the future,” he said.

“Every school was closed and not one kid was sick in Kentucky. Is that an overreach? I don’t know,” Paul added. “We have 600,000 people out of work in Kentucky now. We’ve got devastating numbers where we’re gonna bankrupt the state again on unemployment, even though we’ve given $3 trillion out.

“There’s not enough money in China, there’s not enough money to be printed at the Federal Reserve. We’ve gotta open the economy and we have to be reasonable about this. We can’t wait for perfection. That’s my gripe with Dr. Fauci. Not that he’s a disingenuous person or he doesn’t have the right motives. I think he does. I think he wants what’s best for the country. But so do I, and we have to have a debate over whether we keep the economy closed. I don’t think it can go on forever.”

[End]

Senator Paul is right.

Perfect example of how Democrats behave in the face of adversity. – Fascist California Governor Gavin Newsom is being quoted today by The Hill as promising that first reponders “will be the first ones laid off by cities and counties” if congress doesn’t provide a bailout for blue states like California that have been mismanaged by Democrats for decades and now find themselves on the brink of bankruptcy.

There are literally hundreds of budget items in any city or county government that can be cut instead of laying off first responders. But Democrat mayors, city councils and county governments invariably, without fail, resort to laying off law enforcement and firefighters first any time spending must be addressed. They do this for two reasons: 1) because fighting fires and crime are their lowest personal priorities, and 2) in order to make the process of cutting a budget as painful as possible on the community they govern.

In making his promise to The Hill, Newsom is simply following the standard Democrat playbook.

Speaking of thuggish Democrat governors, Fox has a really good report detailing the fact that several of them are now facing a string of lawsuits challenging their clearly unconstitutional orders. Newsom alone is facing at least a dozen such suits.

And it isn’t just Democrat mayors who are being challenged. Buried way down in this piece is a paragraph discussing the fact that Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is threatening to file actions against several big-city Democrat mayors and county judges over their 0wn efforts to enforce public restrictions that exceed those issued by Governor Greg Abbott. Abbott will hold a press conference Monday afternoon outlining his own plans for moving forward, and I’m told he will address this matter during that conference.

Meanwhile, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is coming under fire for his Sunday comments about thousands of elderly citizens dying in his state’s nursing homes.:

“We worked it out so we always had available beds. Nobody was deprived of a bed or medical coverage in any way. And still people died. Still people died. Older people, vulnerable people are going to die from this virus. That is going to happen, despite whatever you do.”

Prior to that passage, Cuomo had defended his decision in March to force his state’s nursing homes to admit infected patients, an action that no doubt resulted in thousands of other elderly patients in those homes contracting COVID-19 and dying. In defending his decision, Cuomo said no one is to blame, and “no one should go to jail” for having caused those deaths.

How to react to this? Well, first, try to imagine the uproar you would be hearing today had President Trump issued the order that Cuomo issued. The cacophony would be overwhelming, and we would already have impeachment proceedings taking place in the House of Representatives.

But because Cuomo is a protected Democrat, the corrupt, mainstream media is essentially silent on this matter, and has been for weeks as the scandal has percolated.

But second, note that Cuomo is to some extent correct here. Older people, vulnerable people with underlying health conditions, are most at-risk from this virus, and are going to die from it. Note also that, according to the Dept. of Health and Human Services, the average remaining life span of an elderly person admitted into a nursing home in this country is a stunning 5 months. Thus, many of the thousands of New York nursing home residents whose deaths have counted as COVID-19 would have died in any event, and a high percentage of them really died from another cause.

That having been said, all of that reality ultimately condemn’s Cuomo’s approach to the matter. The proper response to this virus in the first place would have been to focus resources on protecting nursing home patients and others among the most vulnerable. That’s what governors like Florida’s Ron DeSantis and other Republicans did, and their states have not experienced anything like the problems in nursing homes that New York has seen.

Instead, Cuomo shut down his entire state, depriving millions of jobs and shutting down hundreds of thousands of businesses that will never come back. Even worse, he actively ordered infected patients to be embedded among the most vulnerable of all in his state’s nursing homes.

Cuomo’s rationalizations notwithstanding, someone is responsible. If he wants to know who, he should look in a mirror.

That is all.

The Coronavirus Lies Just Keep on Coming

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

This is very revealing. – Check out this little video clip from Chicago. Corrupt Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has just finished up holding her latest briefing, during which she and all of the reporters in the room dutifully wore their masks while they knew the TV cameras were rolling. As the presser ends, everyone immediately takes off their masks, as several reporters approach Lightfoot to ask a few more questions.

They just didn’t know the camera was still running. Watch how closely they crowd around the Mayor with their masks off. Does that look like social distancing to you?

What does this tell you? It tells you that neither the mayor nor the reporters believe any of the ongoing fear porn they are all spreading to the public in unison.

You can be sure that exactly the same thing takes place in the White House press room as soon as the briefings are done. Early this week, Fox Reporter John Roberts was outed by Jonathan Karl of ABC, who circulated a photo on Twitter of Roberts seated at an outdoor assembly sans mask a few minutes before the briefing was to begin. Roberts put his mask on as soon as the briefing began, but why? What possible purpose did doing that serve? What possible purpose did Karl’s pedantic tweet serve, other than the spreading of a little more fear porn?

At a presidential briefing on Friday, Dr. Anthony Fauci showed up – despite his dramatic “self-quarantine” announcement early in the week – and stood behind the President the entire time wearing a mask that covered not just his face, but all the way down to the base of his neck. He looked like a member of the freaking James Gang.

Fauci had said he would still be coming into the White House when necessary, but why did he feel it was necessary to stand behind the President without saying a word for an hour at that presser? Was that really – as all the despot politicians like to say – “essential?” Or was it just so he could be there in every shot, subtly spreading his fear porn?

Because that’s all it is. Fauci himself has on numerous occasions advised the President and told the media that wearing these masks serves no functional purpose in terms of preventing the spread of the Wuhan Virus. So has Dr. Deborah Birx. Remember that? It was back in March, into early April.

But as he has done on so many things over the course of the past four months, Fauci suddenly switched course in April, as his fear-mongering efforts to keep extending our national economic shut-down stretched out from two weeks to six weeks to indefinite and now until there is a vaccine or a “cure,” either or both of which may never come. Around the first week of April, he and Birx suddenly began including the wearing of masks by anyone who goes out into public as one of the mitigations we need to all take as a condition of slowly reopening the economy.

Why?  It’s obviously false advice and all the politicians everyone in the press corps parroting Fauci’s pronouncements knows it, which is why we saw that scene from Chicago yesterday. They all know it, and as soon as they think the cameras have stopped rolling – or, in Roberts’ case, before he thinks they’ve begun – presto! No more masks.

We’re all being lied to, folks. We’re being lied to over and over again about pretty much every aspect of this Chinese plague.

To its credit, the state health department of Colorado yesterday actually made an effort to begin correcting one of its great lies to the public, lowering its official COVID-related death count from 1150 to 878 as auditors identified 272 cases that were falsely reported.

That announcement ironically came just a few hours after the state’s Democrat Governor, Jared Polis, had somberly announced that the state had passed the milestone of 1,000 deaths. Guess he’ll have to do that announcement all over again in the weeks to come. Or maybe not, since the review of the death count by the state’s health board is ongoing.

This is just one more aspect of all of this that health officials, politicians and the corrupt news media are lying about, and everyone involved knows it. It was an act of compassion, but the decision by the federal government, working with the big insurance companies, to ensure that COVID-19 treatments are free of charge led to a frenzy by doctors and health officials all over the country to attribute almost any death by natural causes to the virus, even when patients had not been tested for it. That 25% reduction in Colorado is just the tip of a huge iceberg, and again, everyone involved knows it.

Yet the media and Democrat politicians continue to use that hyper-inflated death toll as fear porn to support their efforts to keep the economy shut down through election day. With the media, it’s not just what they do say on this subject, but what they don’t report about it.

If you do a Google search on that Colorado story, you won’t find reports on it from any of the major TV networks, CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times or the Washington Post. But you will find a 3-week old story from the NY Times whose headline reads “U.S. Coronavirus Death Toll is Far Higher Than Reported.” I swear I do not make this stuff up.

We’re being lied to, folks, just as we have been lied to for four solid years about “Russia Collusion.” It’s all the Democrats and their corrupt media toadies know how to do anymore.

That is all.

Generalissimo Gretchen Whitmer’s No-Good, Terrible, Very Bad Week

The Mid-Day Campaign Update

Writing at PJMedia.com, Megan Fox has an excellent piece today about Michigan’s authoritarian Governor, Generalissimo Gretchen Whitmer, getting slapped with a lawsuit by a group of doctors and a single patient on Thursday. The suit smartly alleges that, through her increasingly irrational and anti-science edicts, the Herr Gretchen is creating a looming public health crisis of her own as a growing number of Michiganders continue to be denied the right to have what the state has declared “non-essential surgeries.”

Here’s an excerpt from a Washington Times piece:

The plaintiffs allege in federal court that Ms. Whitmer’s “drastic, unprecedented [and] unilateral executive actions” to cease economic activity that her office deemed nonessential were based on “grossly inaccurate” models that no longer apply and therefore should be lifted.

“Medical providers are on the brink of financial ruin, facing extreme revenue shortages caused by the Governor’s order forcing the postponement or cancellation of so-called ‘non-essential’ procedures,” said the suit filed by the Mackinac Center Legal Foundation and a private law firm, Miller Johnson. “Thousands of healthcare workers across Michigan have been furloughed or laid off.”

In addition to the economic devastation, Ms. Whitmer’s order has left hospitals and patients facing a dangerous backlog on procedures that will create a public health catastrophe of its own, said Dr. Randal Baker, a general surgeon and president of Grand Health Partners, a plaintiff based in Grand Rapids.

“This whole ‘elective-procedure’ thing is now a time bomb,” Dr. Baker told The Washington Times. “There is no good reason to have a ban on elective surgery any more. This is now a significant health problem for the people of Michigan and our patients, and I’ve had one patient attempt suicide — a very serious attempt.”

As Ms. Fox points out in her piece, Herr Gretchen had already had a no-good, terrible, very bad week, as her efforts to put 77 year-old barber Karl Manke out of business ran aground. First, the local Sheriff refused her directive to forcibly shut Manke’s business down. Next, a state district judge refused to allow the Generalissimo to enforce a restraining order on Manke after Whitmer had ordered her bureaucrats to revoke his barber’s license, instead ruling that he should get his day in court.

What, an American citizen getting his day in court? What a concept, one with which Herr Gretchen and her fellow Democrats have grown distressingly unfamiliar.

Back to the lawsuit against Whitmer, Ms. Fox focuses in on one amazing factoid that is going to kill the Generalissimo’s ability to defend herself:

The lockdown has literally sentenced medically fragile people, who would have been fine if they had been able to seek medical care, to life-threatening or even deadly conditions. And there was no good reason not to allow them in the nearly empty hospitals in Michigan. “Graphics depicted that while Governor Whitmer’s administration anticipated 220,000 patients being hospitalized without social distancing efforts, there had only been 3,000 hospitalizations as of April 27,” the lawsuit states. “That is less than 1.4% of the projected COVID-19 hospitalizations underlying the governor’s declared states of emergency and disaster.”

So, don’t come on here and try to tell anyone that Herr Gretchen is basing her orders on anything resembling “science.” She – like Drs. Anthony Fauci and Deborah Birx – has based her policies on projections made by buffoonish statistical models that have literally no relationship whatsoever to anything happening in the real world.

Hey! Come to think of it, that makes Herr Gretchen the gubernatorial version of a Climate “scientist,” doesn’t it? Go figure.

That is all.

Fauci and Birx: Masters of our National Disaster

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

All I wanna know is, who gave San Fran Nan a baby oil shower?

You could never make these people up. Watch what happens when, for the first time in his 3 years on the corrupt fake news channel, James Clapper gets asked a semi-tough question by someone at CNN:

Great timing there.

One more video, and then we’ll get on with the topic of today’s piece. Watch as even the raging leftist nitwits who run the Twitter feed for The Hill are now making fun of China Joe Biden’s inability to put together a coherent thought:

There is a very low chance that this guy will actually be the Democrat Party’s ultimate nominee. But if he is, there is not a chance in hell his abusive handlers will ever agree to allow him to debate Donald Trump.

At what point did we go from “flattening the curve” to “we can’t open until we find a cure?” – That’s the question millions of Americans are asking this week, as Democrat despots all over the country continue shifting the goalposts and extending out their stay-at-home orders.

In California, the ultra-leftists who run the Cal-State University system – home to half a million students who are virtually immune from the Wuhan Virus  each year – have already decided they will keep their campuses shut down for the fall semester. Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has his own stay-at-home order now extended through July, and is telling the media this could go on for another full year before he allows his city to return to something resembling normal.

We have example after example of blue-state governors making similar decisions based on nothing but raw political calculations. There is no science involved in any of this. The entire stay-at-home rubrick has now been clearly demonstrated to have been a catastrophic miscalculation, with fully 2/3rds of the deaths in New York coming to people who had been holed up in their homes for weeks.

As a result of all this Democrat abuse, we saw freedom protests break out on a weekday on Thursday in the key states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, where the state’s supreme court ruled the Democrat governor’s stay-at-home order to be in violation of the state’s constitution.

But this is not happening only in blue states. In the very red state of Texas, Democrat mayors and county judges in Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio continue to attempt to enforce punitive edicts in direct violation of Governor Greg Abbott’s statewide orders, whose provision supersede any local orders. Local Democrats are taking similar actions in places like Florida and Arizona, all in an effort to extend the economic pain for as long as possible.

It’s important for Americans to step back and remember how we got here. After our corrupt national news media actively fomented panic throughout February and early March in a coordinated effort with the Democrat Party, Drs. Anthony Fauci and Deborah Birx used a laughably flawed economic model to convince President Trump to embark on a strategy in which we did not focus on protecting the over-65 segment of the population that is truly vulnerable to this virus, but to shutdown our entire economy and put 36 million people out of work (so far) in a mindless strategy to “flatten the curve.”

Fauci and Birx convinced the President and Vice President Mike Pence to treat the entire nation as if it was New York City in order to avoid overwhelming the nation’s hospitals. That’s not speculation – Birx actually admitted that during one of the early press conferences. That is truly what they did, and it created an act of national insanity.

That utterly failed approach inevitably led to the spectacle of empty hospitals all over the other 49 states who have consequently had to lay off hundreds of thousands of doctors, nurses and staff, if not millions. But Fauci and Birx tried to paper over that by endorsing a morbid approach to tallying the deaths in which doctors and hospitals have been encouraged to attribute almost any death by natural causes to “COVID-19” in a ghoulish effort to maintain public fear. By the way, that’s another thing Birx admitted during one of the press conferences.

Fauci and Birx initially told us that we could “flatten the curve” by staying home for just two weeks, so we all said, hey, that make sense, we can survive that. But then the two weeks became six weeks, and then the six weeks became “we’re gonna let the governors decide.” And now “we’re gonna let the governors decide” has become a blatantly obvious, nationally-coordinated effort by the Democrat Party and their corrupt toadies at CNN, MSNBC and the rest of the news media to try to keep major portions of our economy shut down through November to help that Party’s clearly-impaired presumptive nominee get across the finish line.

In the midst of governments at all levels focusing on this catastrophically failed “flatten the curve” strategy, the refusal to focus efforts and resources on protecting the truly vulnerable has resulted in tens of thousands of dead elderly Americans who might otherwise be alive today. The death toll is so heavily-tilted towards the older population that the average age of a Wuhan Virus victim in Texas and other states is 80.

That is what an honest media establishment would be focused on. But just as we see them still clinging to their “Russia Collusion” fantasy despite all evidence proving it was a fantasy, these same corrupt media outlets continue to push the drumbeat of supporting Democrat efforts to extend this pain for purely partisan reasons.

It is very important to remember how we got to this point, and to keep reminding friends and family members who may forget, or who never understood in the first place. Because if we forget how we got here, we are doomed to repeat the failure all over again next time China sends a deadly virus our way.

Never forget who is truly responsible for this national tragedy.

Anthony Fauci and Deborah Birx are diving into social media to ...

Rand Paul to Dr. Fauci: “I Don’t Think You’re The End-All” [UPDATED]

The Mid-Day Campaign Update

This committee is a RINO feeding ground. – With a Senate Health Committee chock full of RINOs like Lamar Alexander, Richard Burr, Susan Collins, Mike Enzi, Mitt Romney and Lisa Murkowski, be thankful that we have Dr. Rand Paul also among the GOP membership. At this morning’s hearing, Sen. Paul was the one and only senator on either side that attempted to take Dr. Anthony Fauci to task for his rank fear-mongering and consistently, catastrophically wrong predictions related to the Wuhan Virus.

Watch this clip as Sen. Paul lectures Dr. Fauci for proposing once again during the hearing that America keep all of its schools shut down this fall. A Transcript follows:

Transcript:

Senator Paul: I think that’s important, because in all likelihood is a good way of putting it, the vast majority will have immunity, instead of saying there is ‘no evidence.’ The WHO kind of fed into this by saying ‘no evidence of immunity,’ and in reality, there is every evidence stacking up, in fact a lot of the different studies have shown that it is very unlikely you’ll get it again in a short period of time.

With regard to going back to school, one thing that was left out of that discussion is mortality. I mean, shouldn’t we at least be discussing what the mortality rate of children is? This is for Dr. Fauci as well. You know, the mortality between ages 0 to 18 in New York data approaches zero. It’s not gonna be absolutely zero, but it approaches zero. Between 18 and 45, the mortality rate was 10 out of 100,000. So really we do need to be thinking about that.

We do need to observe with an open mind what went on in Sweden where kids kept going to school. The mortality per capita in Sweden is actually less than in France, less than in Italy, less than in Spain, less than Belgium, less than the Netherlands, about the same as Switzerland. But basically, I don’t think there is anyone who is arguing that what happened in Sweden is an unacceptable result. I think people are intrigued by it, and we should be.

I don’t think anyone is certain when we do these modelings. There’s been more people wrong with modeling than right. We’re opening up a lot of economies around the U.S., and I hope that people who are predicting doom and gloom and saying, ‘oh, we can’t do this, there’s going to be a surge,’ will admit that they were wrong if there isn’t a surge.

Because I think that’s what’s going to happen. In rural states, we never really reached any sort of pandemic levels in Kentucky and other states. We have less deaths in Kentucky than we have in an average flu season. That’s not to say this isn’t deadly, but really, outside of New England we’ve had a relatively benign course for this virus nationwide.

And I think the one size fits all, we’re going to have a national strategy and no one’s going to go to school is kind of ridiculous. We really ought to be doing it school district by school district, and the power needs to be dispersed because people make wrong predictions.

The history of this when we look back will be of wrong prediction after wrong prediction after wrong prediction, starting with [Nial] Ferguson in England.  So, I think we ought to have a little bit of humility in our belief that we know what’s best for the economy. And as much as I respect you, Dr. Fauci, I don’t think you’re the end-all. I don’t think you’re the one person who gets to make that decision.

We can listen to your advice; but there are people on the other side saying there’s not going to be a surge and that we can safely open the economy, and the facts will bear this out.

But if we keep kids out of school for another year, what’s gonna happen is the poor and underprivileged who don’t have a parent that’s able to teach them at home are not going to learn for a full year. I think we ought to look at the Swedish model and I think our kids ought to get back to school. It’s a huge mistake if we don’t open the schools in the fall.

Thank you.

[End]

One of the myths that the Democrats and their corrupt media toadies have promoted throughout this crisis is that all the school kids are just fine because they’re being schooled at home by their loving parents. Of course, as Sen. Paul alludes here, the sad truth is that it is very likely that a majority of those kids have been getting little if any parental guidance with their school work since March.

And it isn’t just the lack of learning that will set these children back: a very large and constantly-growing number of them receive at least one meal per day at school and in many cases, two meals each day. Don’t let the Democrats delude you into thinking that those kids are somehow being taken good care of now that schools are closed, because most of them aren’t.

That’s a reality that Democrats love to focus on, but only when it is politically expedient for them to do so. But in their madness to take full political advantage of this crisis and attempt to make the pain as deep and long-lasting as possible, focusing on these disadvantaged kids has suddenly vanished from their agenda. I cannot remember seeing a single report on national or local news focusing on the damage, the real, lasting damage being done to these millions of kids.

At today’s hearing, only Rand Paul, the only true conservative Republican in the room, took the time and energy to stand up for those kids by standing up to Dr. Fauci and his desire to extend the damage through the end of this year.

That’s the truth, and it’s a damned disgrace.

UPDATE: At the hearing’s end, Chairman Lamar Alexander gave Dr. Fauci a chance to clarify what he had said earlier about closing the public schools nationally through the end of the year. Fauci “clarified” that that wasn’t exactly what he had meant, even though it certainly sounded that way. So, as is his habit in his far-too-frequent media appearances, Dr. Fauci once again provides conflicting answers that create maximum confusion.

That is all.

Elon Musk, Freedom Protester

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II

Come on over to Texas, Elon – the water’s fine! – It’s one thing when an owner of a hair salon in north Dallas, Texas defies the edicts of abusive local authorities by opening her business in the midst of a stay-at-home order. It’s another  thing entirely, however, when the CEO of the most politically-correct carmaker on earth decides to do the same.

But that’s exactly what Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, did on Monday, announcing his protest action with this tweet:

A bit later, Musk followed with this:

So, because the company made the stupid decision to locate its operation in the San Francisco/Oakland area, it was the only carmaker in America that was still on lockdown thanks the abusive Alameda County government. That county government is made up pretty much entirely of Democrats, so no surprise there.

Musk’s move comes a few days after he had warned California that he was fed up with being abused by the state and local government, and planned to move his manufacturing operation to either Nevada – which is also governed by an abusive and frankly not very bright Democrat governor – or to Texas. Musk made no further mention of that threat on Monday.

As previously stated, Musk is now by far the most prominent businessman who has chosen to directly confront the increasingly draconian edicts coming from Democrat officials. It’s important to remember that all of the protest actions stem from the fact that Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx originally sold the President and the nation on what was supposed to be a two-week stay-at-home strategy designed to “flatten the curve.” That’s what America signed up for – remember that?

That was supposed to last through the second half of March. But a week later, Fauci and Birx convinced President Trump that we needed to extend the “flatten the curve” strategy for another two weeks, and so we grudgingly did. Then, around April 6, they decided we need to go another two weeks after that, but the President at the same time made it clear that governors were free to start reopening their states under their own discretion anytime after April 15.

Most GOP governors took advantage of that presidential discretion, and began reopening their states around May 1, with a few acting even earlier than that.  But Democrat governors as a group have adopted an obviously-coordinated strategy to keep stringing these lockdowns out for as long as they can get away with doing so.

Generalissimo Gretchen Whitmer in Michigan has hers extended through May 28 now in clear violation of state law, and is already making threats to extend it further if the little people in her state do not bend to her will. Ralph Coonman Northam in Virginia has his lockdown extended well into June, with no real end in sight. Steve Sisolak in Nevada is moving as slowly as possible to reopen his state, and appears intent upon bankrupting as many of Las Vegas’s casino hotels as he can before relenting.

In Illinois, toadish Governor J.B. Pritzker has his state shut down through May 30, and also is already making noises about extending his abuse further. Andrew Cuomo says he’ll begin a very slow, phased reopening on May 15, but that remains under review. Oregon Gov. Kate Brown is considering starting a slow reopening on May 15 as well, but has made no formal commitment as of yet. Gavin Newsom in California started a slow, phased reopening on May 8, but continues to issue rash, illogical edicts like shutting down Southern California’s beaches. In Pennsylvania, as we reported here over the weekend, well over 2/3rds of the counties are in open rebellion against the abuse of Gov. Tom Wolfe.

These Democrat governors have been boiling the American frog for six weeks now, testing and poking and prodding to see how much abuse their people will take before waking up jumping out of the warming water.

Elon Musk jumped out of that pot on Monday. This frog-boiling exercise had better end soon.

Notes

*Plans for several facilities have been scaled back, including at McCormick Place in Chicago, which was cut back to 1,000 beds before being closed.

The lack of need for and usage of these expensive endeavors is exemplary of exactly how absurdly our society has overreacted to the Wuhan Virus.

Of those 17 hospitals with a total of 15,127 beds, only 4 actually treated a grand total of 1,177 patients – the other 13 sat completely unused. 1,095 of those patients were treated at a single field hospital at New York City’s Javits Center. Most of those patients were not COVID-19 sufferers.

That equates to a per-bed, single-time usage rate of .0778. But the real measure of their utility would be to calculate the per-bed, per-day usage rate, which would be based on data we unfortunately do not possess at this time.

But let’s conservatively estimate that each field hospital was in operation for 30 days – most were in operation for more than that, a few for less. Given that assumption, the per-bed, per-day usage rate would be 1/30th of .0778, or .0026. For all the social justice warriors out there, that can be otherwise stated as 26/100ths of 1 percent.

Cost to the taxpayers for all this very predictable overkill? $660 million.

God bless the Army Corps for their phenomenal engineering skills and remarkable ability to respond in a crisis situation. And God bless all the thousands of doctors and nurses who ended up wasting their time staffing these hospitals, hundreds of whom are now going to be getting tax bills in the mail courtesy of New York State and Governor Andrew Cuomo for their troubles.

But damn, what an embarrassing waste. Perhaps we should balance this incredible waste with a $660 million budget cut to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, which has been Dr. Anthony Fauci’s incredibly ineffective playground since 1984.

Next Democrat/Media Hoax Narrative: Quarantine Trump!

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Ok, so, we have a new Democrat/corrupt news media narrative coming, likely as soon as today. It’s being facilitated by Dr. Anthony Fauci, who dramatically announced he was placing himself into “modified quarantine,” whatever that means, after not-really-coming-into-contact with a staffer in the White House who has tested positive for the Wuhan Virus.

Fauci, in keeping with his subversive actions on behalf of the DNC, naturally chose to notify CNN first of his new situation. Here is how the news-fakers at CNN reported their “scoop”:

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and member of the White House’s coronavirus task force, told CNN he will begin a “modified quarantine” after making a “low risk” contact with the White House staffer who tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The “low risk” assessment means he was not in close proximity to the person who tested positive during the time when that person was known to be positive for the virus.

To err on the side of caution, Fauci said he is doing what he calls a “modified quarantine,” meaning he will stay at home and telework, wearing a mask continually, for 14 days. He said he might also go to his office at the National Institutes of Health where he is the only one there. He also will be tested every day, he said, noting he was tested yesterday and was negative.

If he is called to the White House or Capitol Hill, he will go while taking every precaution, he said.

[End]

Trust me, Fauci isn’t going to have to worry about that last part. It has become obvious over the last 10 days or so that President Trump has become fully wise to the destructive game Fauci has been playing with the American public throughout this crisis, and has essentially eliminated his role in any policy decisions going forward.

And take a close look at what that article says: Fauci was not in close contact with anyone at the White House who has tested positive, and freely admits it. Not only that, he himself has been tested, and the test came back negative. The odds are very good that anyone who has made a trip to the grocery store in the past 3 months has come in much closer proximity to someone infected with the virus than Fauci did, so by Fauci’s standard here, everyone in America should be on “modified” self-quarantine.

And besides, wasn’t testing supposed to be the magic bullet here? I mean, all the Democrats and their media toadies have done over the last month is scream about “MOOOOORE TESSSTINGGGGGGK!!!”

This bit of fake drama has one purpose and one purpose only: To set up a narrative claiming that both Vice President Pence and President Trump should now be quarantined, since both men have likely been in the same room recently with Pence’s press secretary, Katie Miller, or her husband, presidential advisor Stephen Miller.

As freedom protests ramp up across the nation and more and more cities and counties move into open rebellion against the draconian shut-down orders, it is becoming increasingly apparent that the Democrat governors, mayors and county judges who have been attempting to extend the pain as long as possible are about to have to begin reopening their states in earnest. In other words, their hopes of extending all of this all the way until November is about to fail.

You have to remember that every action Democrat politicians take is based on polling data. They are no doubt seeing bad polling data popping up, so they’re going to have to start folding up this particular tent and pray for Fauci’s vaunted “second wave” of the Wuhan Virus to start popping up along about September, as the weather starts to cool again.

In the meantime, they have to find some way to keep Trump off of the campaign trail, and deny him the ability to hold rallies. What better way to do that than to mount a new hoax narrative pressuring him to stay quarantined in the White House? And how better to kick that narrative off than by using their favorite doctor, Anthony Fauci?

So, do not doubt me on this, this new hoax narrative is coming, probably starting today, just in time for the Sunday morning talk shows.

The depths of Democrat depravity truly knows no limits.

That is all.

Warning: Wednesday Saw a Major Shift in Shut-Down Messaging

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Fair warning: There will be no v-shaped recovery for the U.S. economy. That is the only conclusion that can be drawn from the narrative that was rolled out at Wednesday evening’s press conference at the White House.

If we are lucky, there will be a u-shaped recovery, but the horizontal part of that u just keeps getting longer if President Trump and the nation’s governors continue to allow the government to be run based on NIH and CDC opinions and statistical models that have proven to be disastrously wrong every step of the way. Last night at the White House, it was obvious that these medical professionals and their models continue to hold absolute sway over the President’s policy agenda.

This is a President who barely a week ago was raring to get this economy back up and running, promising that it would be quick and that economic growth would return in no time. In press conferences throughout the first two weeks of this month, he appeared to be signaling to governors – especially Republicans – that the time had come for them to proceed as quickly as they deemed to be safe to get businesses in their states open again.

Last night, President Trump took great pains to call out Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, a Republican, for moving too fast. He literally threw the guy under the bus of the federal government, and that’s a very large and powerful bus.

Careful observers who have taken the time necessary to gain an understanding of how he communicates – which would, of course, exclude each and every corrupt member of the White House press corps – know that he very rarely says anything without an intended purpose behind it. The obvious purpose behind his going out of his way to slam Governor Kemp last night was to send a signal to other governors to slow down. And you can be sure that timid governors like Greg Abbott in Texas, who set up a “strike force” consisting of no fewer than 13 committees and subcommittees in order to cover his butt politically, will only be too happy to oblige.

The other sudden shift in messaging that took place last night was the dominant message about the absolute certainty of another outbreak of this gift from the communist Chinese government coming this fall. That came not just from Drs. Fauci and Birx, but also from CDC Director Robert Redfield. This topic in fact dominated the first half hour of the briefing. That was not an accident.

The implications of this are ominous, to say the least, since this new narrative now provides power-grabbing governors like Gretchen Whitmer (MI), Phil Murphy (NJ), Ralph KKK Northam (VA) and others with more justification to crack down on their respective populations even further, and to keep their edicts in place at least through the end of 2020. You should expect them and other governors now move to crack down on demonstrators who continue to exercise their constitutional rights of peaceful assembly and free speech.

All of this over a virus whose mortality rate may be lower than the common, seasonal flu according to the most current data.

Amazing.

It’s amazing how easily and timidly we have allowed our freedoms to slip away. Churches and synagogues remain closed all across the country. How many of them will be able to survive, given that they all are in fact business operations that have bills to pay.

Schools remain closed at least until September and maybe longer than that, even though we know that this bug poses a real risk to almost no one under the age of 30 or so. Even if we allow them to reopen in June, half of this country’s restaurants are going to disappear, along with their thousands of jobs. The list of the economic carnage deriving from this doctor-led government decision making goes on and on and on.

Now, take a look at this:

Regardless of how many “stimulus” bills congress passes, they cannot prevent the absolute carnage that is inevitable in our economy unless we move quickly to restart it. And the truth that no one in government is telling you right now is that they can only continue to try to mask the economic carnage with these debt-funded bills for maybe another month or two. After that, you and your cities and states are going to be on your own. Food lines like this are going to be coming to your city soon, if they haven’t already appeared.

Check this out:

And this:

These are just samples of the tools various levels of government know they will have to begin using in earnest to control your behavior once the economic devastation can no longer be masked. If that doesn’t scare the hell out of you, what will? What’s it gonna take?

By the way, I wear a mask every time I go anywhere, which these days is pretty much limited to the grocery store. I recommend everyone else do the same. I do that because it seems to make good common sense, and I will again remind you all that barely 2 weeks ago, the Democrats and corrupt media toadies were screaming that the very same masks that they are mandating today were not effective in preventing the spread of this Wuhan Virus.

We lose ~40,000 Americans every year to car accidents, and it would be a great idea if everyone wore helmets and kevlar vests every time we get into a car. But I don’t see the government mandating anyone do that because the economic costs would be too high. So all those lives continue to be lost each year and nobody blinks.

Or hey, it would be much safer and “save lives” if everyone just quit driving. But the government doesn’t mandate that because of the economic carnage that would cause.

Oh. But what about that “it’s worth it if it saves just one life” talking point we keep hearing? Why doesn’t that apply here? Think about it.

We lose ~40-60,000 people a year to the seasonal flu, mainly because those nifty vaccines Fauci and Bill Gates keep touting don’t work. But nobody at the NIH or the CDC says we should mandate wearing masks to prevent those deaths from happening. So all those lives continue to be lost each year and nobody blinks.

Again, isn’t it worth it if it saves just one life? Guess not.

How many kids die or are severely injured on trampolines each year? But they keep dying and nobody blinks. This could go on and on.

We have a choice in our society: We can either learn to live with this virus and focus on treating the ill, as we have learned to live with and treat the seasonal flu, or we can see our economy and thus our society collapse. That is our choice as a people, and at the moment it appears that those in favor of bringing about societal collapse are carrying the day, all the way up to the White House.

Amazing.

That is all.

Watch the Corrupt Reporters Turn on Dr. Fauci in Real Time

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

The immutable truth about today’s corrupt news media is that it operates on a narrative coordinated with the Democrat Party. Reporters are not the legendary – probably imaginary – intrepid souls of black and white noir films from the 1930s and 1940s, dogged pursuers of the truth in their role as the people’s watchdog over those in power. What we call “reporters” today are actually narrative engineers, individuals corrupted by those in power who are given an overarching, politically-motivated narrative by their editors and the people who control their editors, and who go out every day to look only for information that can be used to support that preconceived narrative.

We see this played out in real time every day on our TV screens in the question and answer sessions that take place during the White House Coronavirus Task Force updates. The reporters in the room, with a few exceptions, are not there to actually gather information about the Wuhan Virus that might be useful in the lives of their readers and viewers; they are there to argue with the President, the Vice President and the medical experts in a way that they hope will elicit responses that fit the day’s narrative.

Thanks to his stupid statements made over the week on CNN and MSNBC, yesterday’s narrative coming into the update was all about Dr. Anthony Fauci. Fauci, in his boundless search for media attention, had decided it would be a great idea this past weekend to do interviews with execrable hacks like CNN’s Jake Tapper and MSNBC’s Al Sharpton. During those interviews, he agreed with leading questions from both hacks whose premise was that lives could have been saved if only the evil Orange Man in the White House would have acted sooner.

Which is, logically, unarguable. Hell, if only the President had ESP and had shut down the most prosperous economy the world has ever seen in, let’s say, 2017 in anticipation of this virus, then all those people who the virus has killed might be alive today. Or maybe half of them would have died by suicide or deprivation after losing their jobs, homes and ability to purchase food. Or maybe they and millions of others would have all died because we would be living the real-life version of Mad Max and/or the Hunger Games right now had that taken place in 2017. Who knows?

But the narrative was set, and all Fauci had to do was to stay silent while the narrative engineers pounded on the President in order to keep it going. But, to his credit, the overly-loquacious Doctor chose not to do that. Instead, he made a point of attempting to clarify those weekend remarks in a way that not only killed the “Trump acted too late” narrative, but also decimated the corrupt media’s “Trump never listens to the experts” narrative that they have repeatedly attempted to mount over the past three months.

In the clip below you will see Fauci state categorically that President Trump not only listens to the advice of the “experts,” but has responded to each and every one of their recommendations. Watch:

Transcript:

Fauci: I had an interview yesterday that I was asked a hypothetical question, and hypothetical questions can sometime get you into some difficulty because it’s what would have, or could have. The nature of the hypothetical question was, if in fact we had mitigated earlier, could lives have been saved?

And the answer to my question was, as I always do, and I’m doing right now, perfectly honestly say ‘yes.’ Obviously, mitigation helps. I have been up here many times telling you that mitigation works. So, if mitigation works, and you instigate it and initiate it earlier, you will probably have saved more lives. If you initiated it later, you probably would have lost more lives. You initiate it at a certain time.

That was taken as a way that maybe something somehow was at fault here. So, let me tell you from my experience, and I can only speak from my own experience, is that we had been talking before any meetings that we had about the pros and the cons, the effectiveness or the not, of strong mitigations. So the discussions were going on, mostly among the medical people, about what that would mean.

The first and only time that Dr. Birx and I went in and made a formal recommendation to the President to actually have a “shutdown,” in the sense of not really a shutdown but to really have strong mitigation, we discussed it. Obviously there would be concern by some that in fact that might have some negative consequences. Nonetheless, the President listened to the recommendation and went to the mitigation.

The next, second time, that I went with Dr. Birx into the President and said, 15 days are not enough: We need to go 30 days, obviously there were people who had a problem with that because of the potential secondary effects. Nonetheless, at that time, the President went with the health recommendations, and we extended it another 30 days.

So, I can only tell you what I know, and what my recommendations were. But clearly, as happens all the time, there were interpretations to that response to a hypothetical question that I just thought would be very nice for me to clarify because I didn’t have a chance to clarify. Thank you.

[He thinks he’s done here: Boy, was he in for a rude awakening. He had just decimated not one, but two narratives almost all of those reporters had carried into that room with them, and they were not going to let him get away so easily.]

Reporter: [As Fauci tries to leave the podium] Do you remember the date?

Fauci: No, I, to be honest with you, I don’t even know what the date was. But I can just tell you that the first and only time that we went in and said that we need to do mitigations strongly, the response was ‘yes, we’ll do it.’

Reporter: What did he do? Did he lift the travel restrictions?

Fauci: No, the travel restriction is separate. That was whether or not we want to go into a mitigation stage, of 15 days of mitigation. The travel was another recommendation, when we went in and said we probably should be doing that, and the answer was ‘yes.’ And then another time was we should do it with Europe, and the answer was ‘yes.’ And the next time, we should do it with the UK, and the answer was ‘yes.’

Reporter: In this interview, you said there was pushback. Where did that pushback come from?

Fauci: No, that was the wrong choice of words. You know what it was? When people discuss, not necessarily in front of the President, when people discuss, they say, ‘well, this is going to have maybe a harmful effect on this, or that. So, it was a poor choice of words. There wasn’t anybody saying ‘no, you shouldn’t do that.

Reporter: [Now clearly angry that the guy has destroyed her directed narratives, which might force her to actually engage in independent thought processes she hasn’t used in years.] Are you doing this voluntarily, or did the President advise you…

Fauci: No, I’m doing it….everything I do is voluntarily. Please. Don’t even imply that.

[End]

Wow, that look on Fauci’s face at the end for the hack reporter just reeks of contempt and disgust. It was his best public moment during this entire three-month process.

Now, I’m trying hard to be charitable this morning, and the most charitable thing that can be said for Dr. Fauci is that he is an attention hog who does too many media appearances for his own good. Making matters worse, he obviously doesn’t understand the nature of today’s corrupt corporate news media operations, and stupidly thinks people like Al Sharpton, Jake Tapper and the hack reporter from CBS [Paula Reid, whose husband lobbies congress for Chinese interests] who was peppering him with slanted questions in that clip are his friends and have his best interests at heart.

Let’s go with that charitable assessment of Fauci, and let’s further say that his naivete’ about the nature of the media leads him to believe that if he just answers their questions as honestly as he can that all will be sweetness and light with his world.

If that bit of charity is indeed an accurate description of Fauci and his mindset, then the best thing anyone can do for him would be to counsel him to keep his mug off of the nation’s TV screens, except for these daily Task Force updates. Because what he has been doing for the past three months, repeatedly creating these media-generated dust-ups that undermine the efforts of the Task Force, has been incredibly counterproductive, not just for him and the President, but for the entire country.

Enough.

Fauci’s Shady History With Hydroxychloroquine, Vaccines

The Mid-day Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Doesn’t Break for Lunch)

Frequent commenters Jimmy McAfee, Phineas Gage (a pseudonym), and Gregg Updike put up a series of posts this morning detailing Dr. Anthony Fauci’s amazing inconsistency on the efficacy of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) as an effective treatment for viruses, and his record of miserable failure when it comes to development of vaccines. With Dr. Fauci continuing to poo-pooh HCQ, in combination with azithromycin, as an effective treatment for the Wuhan Virus, and his boosting of a “vaccine” as the only way out of this mess, these walks through his history on those two subjects become especially compelling.

Given that, I am reproducing the contributions by McAfee and Gage here in full, to maximize their readership.

First, Jimmy McAfee on Fauci and HCQ:

The best reason of all to fire Fauci:

“After President Donald Trump mentioned during a recent press conference the potential benefits of hydroxychloroquine for treating the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19), Anthony Fauci from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) quickly piped in that the remedy supposedly isn’t proven, and that people shouldn’t think of it as a “knockout drug.” So why, then, did he praise this very same drug back in 2013 as a treatment for the MERS coronavirus, a relative of COVID-19?

On the use of hydroxychloroquine, he “jumped at the chance to praise the discovery, announcing that it was “particularly encouraging” because these drugs are “widely available,” meaning they can get into the hands of people who need them quickly and easily.”‘

“However, now that Trump and his administration are in charge, Fauci is singing a much different tune. Rather than express enthusiasm for the many cases of the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) that have already been successfully treated with hydroxychloroquine, Fauci felt the need to throw a wet blanket over the whole thing and override Trump’s announcement in a stunning display of disrespect.

“You’ve got to be careful when you say ‘fairly effective,’” Fauci shot back at Trump after the president suggested, based on Fauci’s own statements from seven years ago, that hydroxychloroquine demonstrated effectiveness against SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome). “It was never done in a clinical trial that compared it to anything. It was given to individuals and felt that maybe it worked.”’

So why did Dr. Fauci love hydroxychloroquine under Obama, during MERS (another coronavirus) and say so because it was cheap, available and relatively benign and very hopeful, and now whizz all over the use of it now for this coronavirus, when it is still cheap, available (less so because of demand) and relatively benign and very hopeful? Why take away hope when the virus we face is arguably far more lethal than the MERS virus?

Someone should ask the diminutive Dr.

Resign, Dr. Fauci. But not before answering the bloody question.

And here is Phineas Gage on Dr. Fauci’s miserable failure over 40 years of “leading” the effort to develop a vaccine for HIV:

Like so many Democrat bureaucrats, Fauci has failed his way to the top, from HIV to H1N1 to this. Wrong every step of the way. And not just missing by a bit, but wildly off-target. And for this he is rewarded.

Vaccine development for highly mutable viruses is difficult at best. Ultimately, the best cure for a virus remains the remarkable human immune system. It’s why elderly and other immunocompromised individuals are the high-mortality group.

As it seems likely that this virus accidentally got out of the Wuhan lab, what should concern everyone is what else is being produced in those labs that might eventually be released in a deliberate manner. For example, there is much speculation and some evidence that the Chinese have engineered a ‘Captain-Trips’ super-flu.

From Gregg Updike on the same subject:

The good Dr. Anthony Fauci has been in charge of the effort by the CDC to find a vaccine for HIV/AIDS for close to forty years and hasn’t found one. I’m not saying finding a HIV/AIDS vaccine is easy, but this man’s myopia is breath-taking! Remember, people like him were predicting that AIDS was going to spread like wildfire and it was going to be devastating – especially when Republicans (Reagan and Bush Sr) were in the White House. When Bill Clinton and ‘the One’ occupied it; not so much – the AIDS ‘crisis’ just sort of faded away. Instead we found effective treatments for HIV/AIDS – but no vaccine.

HCQ combined with other medications seems to be able to meet that need.

Dr. Anthony Vaccine, and Dr. Deborah Social Distancing, need to go, plain and simple! While I am not totally against developing a safe, effective, inexpensive vaccine for the CHINA virus, I’m not holding my breath and neither should Trump or the country.

Speaking of vaccines: Vaccines are generally a one time deal with occasional booster shots given many years apart. Our ‘recommended’ (30-40% effective) annual flu shots are just that, shots, and not vaccines per se. It seems highly doubtful that the ‘experts’ at the CDC will be capable of producing a one-time long-lasting ‘vaccine’ for THIS CHINA virus, and certainly not for the likely different strains that will continue to be developed by our adversaries.

More likely, it will be an annual shot with a similar 30-40% effectiveness.

[End]

So, to summarize the inconsistent and obviously politically-motivated record of Dr. Fauci:

– When a Democrat is in the White House, HCQ is something of a miracle drug for treating viral outbreaks;

– When a Republican is in the White House, HCQ is unproven and something to be avoided in treating viral outbreaks;

– Dr. Fauci currently says we cannot return to our normal lives until a vaccine has been developed 12-18 months from now, but his record of abject failure related to the development of truly effective vaccines over the span of the last 40 years clearly demonstrates that we should run away from this notion as fast as humanly possible.

Bottom line, Anthony Fauci is a man who should be treated with extreme skepticism by all thinking people.

That is all.

The Fauci Agenda Supports the Latest Media Smear of President Trump

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Well, this was inevitable, wasn’t it? – As the Wuhan Virus outbreak pretty clearly hit the top of the curve and began to turn over late in the week, the corrupt hacks at CNN led the media/Democrat effort to now begin revising history. That requires a new narrative, and the new narrative, kicked off on Jake Tapper’s Sunday show, is that “lives could have been saved had the evil Trump just acted sooner.”

Making things easier for Tapper and other corrupt Democrat media toadies to concoct the new narrative is Dr. Anthony Fauci, who is more than willing to cooperate in a smear effort in order to cover his own behind. Unfortunately for Fauci, as you will see in the dueling clips below, his remarks to Tapper on Sunday directly contradict the advice he was giving both the President and the public as late as February 29, a full month after President Trump took the major step of banning non-essential travel into the U.S. from China and other countries:

Fauci on Feb. 29:Right now, at this moment, there is no need to change anything you’re doing on a day-by-day basis. Right now the risk is still low. But this could change. I’ve said that many times even on this program. You’ve got to watch out, because although the risk is low now, you don’t need to change anything you’re doing. When you start to see community spread, this could change.”

The big controversy this morning is that President Trump, in one of his periodic re-tweeting frenzies, re-tweeted a message that ended with this hashtag: “#FireFauci”:

Of course, what the President means by “it’s all on tape” is Fauci’s comments from February 29 and other media appearances that took place long after Trump began to implement major actions to fight the Wuhan Virus. And it isn’t just Fauci who is “on tape”: We have video clips of Nancy Pelosi telling folks in San Francisco’s China Town on Feb. 24 not to worry, to just go out and have a great time. We have clips of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio participating in Chinese New Year celebrations in late February and talking about not cancelling the massive annual St. Patrick’s Day parade as late as March 13. And we wonder why New York City has been the epicenter of the national outbreak?

Here’s de Blasio on March 10:

Here’s Pelosi in February 24:

There are myriad other clips of Democrats and Fauci (but I repeat myself) all over Twitter and other social media today urging people to go out and live their lives like nothing was happening weeks after President Trump stood up his White House Coronavirus Task Force and began to take sweeping actions to protect the public. This is not 1918, when Lenin and Stalin could just have their people go into the libraries and change history by burning all the inconvenient books: People who have been paying close attention know what reality is here, and that won’t change. The objective truth is what it is, much as CNN and Jake Tapper would like to ignore it.

Thus, this narrative, like all the previous Democrat/media hoax narratives attacking President Trump, will fail, although the brainwashed people who still get their news from CNN will be able to maintain their perpetual outrage posture against the POTUS.

Does President Trump actually intend to #FireFauci, as the tweet he re-tweeted advocates? No, not much chance of that, although he no doubt weeks ago realized that the Fauci Agenda (a great name for a Robert Ludlum novel, huh?) did not comport with the agenda of the Trump Administration or the American people. Trump loves having a foil, and whether he intends to be or not, Fauci is about to become the foil as the President this week names his Reopening America task force and moves to gradually restart the economy.

If it is wise to “keep your friends close and your enemies closer,” then Fauci is right where the President wants him to be. Experts in a situation such as this should be there to give advice and otherwise let the elected officials do the talking. To her great credit, Dr. Deborah Birx has largely stuck closely to this model. The attention-hog Fauci hasn’t.

Fauci won’t be fired for Sunday’s latest mouth-shooting betrayal of the President, but he is about to find his advice carrying less and less weight in the days and weeks to come as Trump begins to put America back to work.

That is all.

The Peril of Running a Country Based on “Models”

Mid-Day Update: Guest Piece by Gregg Updike

There are models, and then there are models. I build models of ships as a hobby, I strive for accuracy, and after consulting up to a dozen sources I probably have the most accurate models of various navies possible for a reasonable price. The models, however do not talk to me so I have no actual confirmation that my model ships are absolutely accurate.

I can’t remember the actual name of the Bill and Melinda Gates ‘model’ that the CDC is using exclusively, I don’t care – it doesn’t matter, but for the sake of discussion I’ll call it the CNN model.

Apparently all the ‘experts’ at the CDC are using only the CNN model, which is like saying the pundits are only using one political poll from the MSM (D) to be able to determine the odds of who is going to win a political race. At this point the CNN ‘model’ is as accurate and as biased as a MSM (D) political poll.

Image

The chart above shows what utter garbage the IMHE model truly is.

Why can’t we at least use the RCP (Real Clear Politics) method where they average numerous polls, however flawed they might be, as a means to get a clearer picture of what is really happening with the spread and impact of this ‘pandemic’? It would also show which models are the most accurate.

Better yet, how about actually inputting actual and broad based data into the model, rather than worse case agenda driven speculation! Typically a collaboration of anything – ‘diversity’ of ideas if you will – will generate a better and more accurate result; otherwise we may well get a highly inaccurate outlier, which is what appears to be happening.

It is a given that our political polling is generally skewed to the left to drive rather than reflect public opinion, with the majority of polls going that way, while the Rasmussen poll typically shows right of center results and it has an enviable and historically accurate record. Rasmussen is often shown as an outlier but since it is included in the RCP equation it drives the data towards a more accurate reflection of real public thought. We apparently have no such counter ‘model’ showing ‘diversity’ in fighting this economy-crippling ‘pandemic’.

The real question is how come we are not using data from several ‘models’? How come the methodologies used in this one ‘model’ are not better shown? Even the largely flawed methodology of the MSM political polls is usually available to be analyzed where they oversample Democrats, or they poll all adults, or registered voters instead of likely voters.

It has been said statistics don’t lie, but statisticians do, and GIGO (garbage in, garbage out) results in flawed results – so why are we continuing to follow this paradigm regarding this ‘pandemic’ when so much is at stake and the ‘experts’ are wrong so often? By any logical and objective analysis the ‘experts’ and their one ‘model’ fits all system has been consistently and grossly wrong. That being the case, the ‘pandemic’ modeling that EVERYONE at the CDC seems to relying on must be extremely flawed.

By the way, this GIGO standard is also used in most if not all ‘Climate Change’/’Global Warming’ theoretical ‘models’ to produce the desired apocalyptic and dire results. This becomes the left’s template by which they produce ‘solutions’ to another unseen enemy. The ‘solution’ always calls for the destruction of our capitalistic economic system via draconian world taxes and major behavioral changes. Ever notice how dictatorial communist systems or developing countries are never called to reform their ‘carbon footprint’ in the name of “saving the planet”?

Their ‘expert’ opinions derived from their opaque crystal ball are and will always be wrong when GIGO is inputted, which has produced dire economic results for millions of people. So why are we determining the future of a twenty plus TRILLION dollar economy and the fate of 328 million people’s livelihood and health using such a flawed one size fits all system?

Two reasons for putting so much credence in this poll, I mean ‘model’:

One, it is just the way bureaucracies everywhere have always done things – never think out of the box, and be slow to react to new facts, opinion, input, and legitimate presidential orders;  and

Two, an absolute hatred for the current president: Donald Trump. If as much effort was put forth by the MSM (D) in calling out the officials on all levels who are responsible for being so unprepared and not ensuring adequate equipment, rather than pointlessly bashing Trump’s efforts at every opportunity, we would be in much better shape.

That is an absolute reality, because ever since he became president his agenda has been opposed and he has been maligned and demonized by his vast array of opponents. In their minds he can do nothing right, and ALL his programs and ideas are failures, and will lead to disaster. Add in a generous supply of slanderous accusations and fraudulent investigations and you get the current situation where the goal is not to work together in any way, but to hamstring Trump and make sure he get a little as possible accomplished.

The fact is Trump and his policies have been proven correct and beneficial to the country virtually every time while the MSM (D) and their ‘experts’ have been proven wrong. I can’t remember when our media and their ‘expert’ opinions have been right in any meaningful way on any story.

The other purpose of all this misinformation, doom and gloom pessimism leveled at the outsider Trump is to send a powerful message to any future reform-minded person that they better not dare try to invade the District of Corruption’s turf. This is the war that is actually being fought: Who runs and controls this country – the entrenched unelected bureaucrats of the Deep State and their Globalist Allies or We the People?

Any intelligence analyst worth his salt, or ‘journalist’ or ‘news’ organizations for that matter, would never use only one source for information, no matter how trusted. Anything the MSM (D) puts out concerning Trump is nothing better than supermarket tabloid trash and in most cases worse. Real analysis involves gathering and vetting even proven correct sources from as wide a spectrum as possible.

A competent and objective analysis of any problem requires constant scrutiny. Reliability and accuracy of sources is always questioned and confirmed. Look at any detective in any crime documentary and you will see that the facts must mesh with the evidence. If one irrefutable fact clears a suspect, the suspect is cleared regardless of the other circumstantial evidence that makes him appear guilty. In other words, if any switch in a circuit is turned off, the light doesn’t come on.

Anyone can be wrong or make an honest mistake once in a while, but to be so consistently wrong in vital areas where people’s mental, physical, emotional, and economic health and livelihood hinges on them getting it right, is at best unforgivable, and most likely criminal.

That is all

Great News: Peter Navarro is Growing Weary of Dr. Fauci’s Nonsense

The Mid-day Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Doesn’t Break for Lunch)

Axios has a report out this morning detailing a significant confrontation that apparently took place on Sunday between Peter Navarro and Dr. Anthony Fauci during the meeting of the Coronavirus Task Force. The subject of the argument detailed in the report was hydroxychloroquine and Fauci’s ongoing campaign to pretend that this cheap and plentiful medication has not been proven effective against the Wuhan Virus.

Navarro, who, like President Trump is well aware of the large and constantly-growing body of proof that HC is indeed proving to be an almost 100%-effective cure for this viral plague that China unleashed on the world, has obviously grown weary of Fauci’s nonsense, and decided to call him out on it in that meeting.

Excerpt from the Axios report:

Toward the end of the meeting, Hahn began a discussion of the malaria drug hydroxychloroquine, which Trump believes could be a “game-changer” against the coronavirus.

  • Hahn gave an update about the drug and what he was seeing in different trials and real-world results.
  • Then Navarro got up. He brought over a stack of folders and dropped them on the table. People started passing them around.
  • “And the first words out of his mouth are that the studies that he’s seen, I believe they’re mostly overseas, show ‘clear therapeutic efficacy,'” said a source familiar with the conversation. “Those are the exact words out of his mouth.”

Navarro’s comments set off a heated exchange about how the Trump administration and the president ought to talk about the malaria drug, which Fauci and other public health officials stress is unproven to combat COVID-19.

  • Fauci pushed back against Navarro, saying that there was only anecdotal evidence that hydroxychloroquine works against the coronavirus.
  • Researchers have said studies out of France and China are inadequate because they did not include control groups.
  • Fauci and others have said much more data is needed to prove that hydroxychloroquine is effective against the coronavirus.
  • As part of his role, Navarro has been trying to source hydroxychloroquine from around the world. He’s also been trying to ensure that there are enough domestic production capabilities inside the U.S.

Fauci’s mention of anecdotal evidence “just set Peter off,” said one of the sources. Navarro pointed to the pile of folders on the desk, which included printouts of studies on hydroxychloroquine from around the world.

  • Navarro said to Fauci, “That’s science, not anecdote,” said another of the sources.

Navarro started raising his voice, and at one point accused Fauci of objecting to Trump’s travel restrictions, saying, “You were the one who early on objected to the travel restrictions with China,” saying that travel restrictions don’t work. (Navarro was one of the earliest to push the China travel ban.)

[End]

Please take the time to follow the link to the Axios report and read it in full. You will be glad you did.

The thing to remember about this joyful incident is that Navarro is a guy who President Trump trusts. Dr. Fauci, due to his own self-serving antics over the past three months, is not.

Meanwhile, we have this happy report from Fox News this morning, detailing how at least 4,000 Wuhan Virus patients in New York are now being successfully treated with HC in combination with zinc and antibiotics:

As many as 4,000 seriously ill coronavirus patients in New York are being treated with the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine, state health officials say.

President Trump has touted hydroxychloroquine as a potential life-saver, although there is no widespread scientific evidence to date showing it helps battle COVID-19.

But Gov. Andrew Cuomo last month said health care providers in the state would be using the drug in combination with the antibiotic Zithromax, or azithromycin, for some last-ditch cases, based on potentially promising research.

“Time is of the essence,’’ Albany University Public Health Dean David Holtgrave, who is on the state’s research team, said in a statement.

A state Health Department official said the DOH has shipped doses of hydroxychloroquine to 56 hospitals across New York, distributing enough “to treat 4,000 patients to date.”

Patients have received doses as part of four- or 10-day regimens, officials said.

So, much as Dr. Fauci and the corrupt news media would prefer otherwise, Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo obviously wants his citizens to have the best chance to survive the contraction of this virus. Good for him.

See? The news isn’t all bad. Sometimes, you just have to look for it.

That is all.

Hydroxychloroquine: The Light at the End of the Tunnel

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

We told you several weeks ago about the Orange County, New York doctor – Vladimir Zelenko – who has had tremendous success in treating hundreds of symptomatic coronavirus patients with a combination of hydroxycholoroquine and antibiotics. That course of medication is now being copied by many doctors around the country, despite the best efforts of Dr. Anthony Fauci and the corrupt news media to hide the crucial information from the public.

This morning comes news out of Los Angeles of another doctor, Anthony Cardillo, who is experiencing similar success in treating his own patients. His approach is slightly different from Dr. Zelenko’s as reported by local station ABC7 News:

A Los Angeles doctor said he is seeing significant success in prescribing the malaria drug hydroxychloroquine in combination with zinc to treat patients with severe symptoms of COVID-19.

Hydroxychloroquine has been touted as a possible treatment for COVID-19 by President Trump among others, but it remains controversial as some experts believe it is unproven and may not be effective…

Dr. Anthony Cardillo said he has seen very promising results when prescribing hydroxychloroquine in combination with zinc for the most severely-ill COVID-19 patients.

Every patient I’ve prescribed it to has been very, very ill and within 8 to 12 hours, they were basically symptom-free,” Cardillo told Eyewitness News. “So clinically I am seeing a resolution.”

So, yet again, we are seeing that President Donald Trump was right, and the media/Democrat establishment arrayed against him is wrong. The near-100% success rate of this drug is why the federal government recently ordered 29 million doses of it to have on-hand to distribute around the country.

That success rate is why the craven Democrat governors in Nevada (Sistak) and Michigan (Whitmer) quickly reversed their rash, politically-motivated decisions to ban the drug two weeks ago. It is why Democrat New York Governor Andrew Cuomo made the decision to prevent pharmacies in New York City from handing out hydroxychloroquine, saving the state’s limited supplies of it for patients who require hospitalization.

Why does the demented, corrupt news media hate hydroxychloroquine (HC) so viciously? Because they, in the Trump Derangement Syndrome hysteria, want to keep our nation shut down and dying through November in the hopes that destroying the U.S. economy for a generation or two might help the impaired Joe Biden limp over the finish line.

In their warped world, the existence of an actual, near-100% effective cure for the Wuhan Virus represents a threat, not the godsend it actually appears to be. Because the existence of an actual cure will enable the President to do what he has wanted to do all along: Start getting America back to work beginning next week.

For Dr. Fauci, who is so obviously little more than a tool for Big Pharma, the existence of a cheap, well-known, plentiful drug that is part of a cure for this virus will deny his allies an eventual payday that would be worth many billions of dollars. People like Fauci don’t want to see a cure for anything: They want to keep Americans hooked on drugs with weird names that advertise in 60 second TV ads that contain 50 seconds of disclaimers about all the harm this drug will do to you if you actually take it.

And it’s not just the drug companies – it’s also their consultant hangers-on. Most Americans aren’t aware of the existence of whole cottage industry of consultants who get paid millions of dollars to invent names like “Spiriva” for the drug companies. Those people live in hatred and fear of a 70 year-old concoction with a clinical name like hydroxychloroquine. Why, there’s no money in that!

Fauci’s self-worth is also completely tied up in the invention of yet another “vaccine” that he continues to tout as the “ultimate solution” which lies 12 to 18 months down the road, at best. The existence of a cheap and plentiful drug whose near-100% success rate so vastly out-strips the 30-40% success rate of the “vaccines” Fauci and the NIH push on the American public related to other viruses today represents a clear and present danger to his wildly overblown base of power in this country.

With New York’s rates of new infections and fatalities now starting to decline and the predicted major outbreaks in other parts of the country failing to materialize, the clear existence of a safe and effective cure and testing for this virus will soon allow the Trump Administration to shift from these incredibly destructive “flatten the curve” measures to a true strategic approach:

  • Quarantine those who have tested positive for the virus;
  • Encourage those in high risk categories (elderly/heart patients/lung disease patients) to remain under the “stay-at-home” mode until the outbreak has run its course;
  • Treat the sick;
  • And get everyone else back to work while wearing masks and continuing social distancing.

This strategic approach is coming, and sooner than the media/Democrat propaganda complex would like.

Coincidentally, as I was writing this piece, President Trump issued this tweet:

Indeed there is, thanks to hydroxychloroquine and the doctors who have had the foresight to go against the Democrat/media mob and use it. God bless them all.

That is all.

The America You See Today is the America Envisioned by the Green New Deal

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

When did Mini-Mike sell Bloomberg News to the ChiCom government? – Here are photos of two headlines running at Bloomberg.com right now:

Image

Shameful.

Yes, doctors and nurses deserve our gratitude and applause. – But not just the doctors and nurses who are fighting to save patients with coronavirus at what appears to be several dozen hospitals around the country that are actually somewhat overwhelmed with COVID-19 cases right now. We should also be concerned about the thousands of doctors and nurses who are seeing their salaries cut back, seeing their working hours docked or being outright laid off right now because thousands of hospitals, clinics and medical practices are basically vacant.

Your corrupt news media, in its ongoing zeal to keep the national panic it created going all the way through the November election, continues to focus pretty much all of its “reporting” on a few hospitals in New York City that happen to be operating at full or over-full capacity. But the reality is that, even in the other large cities around the country, there is only one or perhaps two hospital emergency rooms that are seeing real spikes in activity.

Many of our thousands of other medical facilities have seen their businesses destroyed by counterproductive orders for everyone in America to postpone regular doctor’s appointments and elective surgeries while this pandemic endures. The stay-at-home order has also had the effect of dramatically reducing traffic-related accidents, workplace accidents  and the spreads of the flu, colds and other viral diseases that in most years keep medical facilities occupied and working with full staff.

Before the Wuhan Virus came along, our society had normalized these kinds of maladies and pathologies as just a part of life in a country with a thriving society and prosperous economy. Now that we have destroyed our nation’s economy to fight a virus that was never going to be as deadly as the seasonal flu, we see that hey, if we all just volunteer to lose or homes and livelihoods, we won’t have so many car wrecks! Isn’t that great?

What this has been is a lesson in risks, rewards and tradeoffs. Our national strategy in addressing every other communicable disease to come along in modern times has been to mitigate the risks as best we can and develop effective ways to treat the sick and help them recover. That was exactly the strategy we deployed in 2009/10 with the H1N1 virus, which infected more than 1.4 BILLION people around the globe. Yet, we have shut down the global economy over the last two months to fight the Wuhan Virus, which remains 1,398,700,000 infections short of that number.

I know I’m starting to sound like a broken record on this, but let me remind you one more time that we have invoked this frankly insane strategy based on a statistical model used by Dr. Anthony Fauci that two weeks ago projected as many as 2 million U.S. deaths from Wuhan Virus by September, a week ago projected as many as 240,000, and as of Thursday projected 93,000. If they run that model today, that number will no doubt be dramatically lower still given that the actual observed results on the ground continue to run at less than 40% of what the model has predicted.

Fortunately, President Trump appears to be tiring of allowing Dr. Fauci and his model to destroy the American way of life. On Saturday, he endorsed the idea suggested by Dana Perino of creating a second coronavirus task force that would advise him how to put American back to work as quickly as possible:

The President also continued to tout the use of hydroxychloroquine to fight the Wuhan Virus, given its proven effectiveness all over the world. Despite Fauci’s ongoing efforts to downplay the use of this safe, effective, cheap and well-known drug that won’t make any of Dr. Fauci’s “Big Pharma” buddies rich, the President announced during yesterday’s Coronavirus Task Force update that the federal government was acquiring an initial 29 million doses of the malaria drug to distribute to the many states that are now requesting it.

All of this signals that the President will soon be making the move to start putting America back to work, and get our economy and society on the road to recovery from this media-induced episode of national panic and insanity. I continue to believe he will start the move in that direction after the end of this coming week.

When that time comes, he will need all of our support more than ever, because you can be sure that the outrage coming from the Democrat/Media Propaganda Complex will be the loudest it has ever been. The last month of national shutdown have been literal nirvana for them.

This is exactly the America envisioned by the Soviet-style “Green New Deal” that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the Democrat Party rolled out last year: Less than zero economic growth; dramatically less car travel; dramatically less air travel; a dead tourism industry; the lights in Las Vegas turned off; Times Square a ghost town; Disney World dead and gone; beaches empty of everything but the seaweed that flows in with the tide; churches shut down on Palm Sunday; and the American people frightened and cowering in their homes as they wait for their tiny government checks to arrive.

If they can just find a way to shut down voices like yours and mine on the Internet, they would have exactly the America they have been working towards for their entire adult lives.

Donald Trump isn’t going to let them consolidate all of this on a permanent basis, and they will all scream like the stuck pigs they really are when he moves in the next couple of weeks to roll it all back.

Be ready.

That is all.

Fauci, Models and Democrats: A Saturday Reminder About Futility and Mendacity

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

My, how this little man’s story has changed.  – As you witness the corrupt news media desperately attempt to rewrite history about the Trump Administration’s yeoman’s efforts to deal with the Wuhan Virus pandemic, this video clip from January 21 reveals exactly what he was being advised by Dr. Anthony Fauci:

Fauci: “Well, I, you know, obviously you need to take it seriously, and do the kinds of things that the CDC and the Department of Homeland Security are doing. But this is not a major threat for the people of the United States, and this is not something that the citizens of the United States right now should be worried about.”

Oh.

Remember: That was on January 21, when the WHO and China were still putting out the false propaganda that the Wuhan Virus was not airborne and could not be transmitted by human to human contact.

Just 10 days later, President Trump had received accurate information from some source – maybe Fauci, maybe not – and too the brilliant step of cutting off all non-essential travel to the U.S. from China. For doing that, he was roundly smeared by the Democrats and their corrupt media toadies as being an alarmist and a racist.

Remember that when you see those exact same Democrats and corrupt media toadies trying to convince you now that the President moved too slowly. Because the truth is that the President has taken decisive actions every step of the way based on the information he has been provided by the U.S. intelligence community and “experts” like Dr. Fauci.

As I said last night, this is why the President needs some new “experts.” Maybe some real experts who don’t have Fauci’s track record of abject failure.

Alex Berenson provides his daily update on how actual observed outcomes in New York dramatically conflict with the projections of Dr. Fauci’s faulty model:

Just the latest example why the Trump Administration should stop basing its policies on a demonstrably laughable model.

On the Wuhan Virus, President Trump Needs to Bring in new Experts

The Evening Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

We’re gonna need some better “experts.”  – For the past three weeks now, President Donald Trump has allowed his team of “experts,” led by Dr. Anthony Fauci, to essentially destroy the nation’s economy based on the projections by a statistical model whose have varied dramatically from week to week, and which do not bear even the slightest resemblance to observed results on the ground.

Friday morning, Dr. Fauci told an interviewer that he just can’t understand why the entire nation is not already in a lockdown stay-at-home situation. Meanwhile, in Texas, 101 counties that comprise an are about the size of the massive state of Montana still have not seen a single case of Wuhan Virus. In the last 3 weeks Texas has recorded 68 Wuhan Virus fatalities. In 2018 Texas recorded 1,200 flu related deaths in just two weeks. No one at the NIH or the CDC or in our corrupt news media batted an eye.

Maybe that’s why, Doctor.

Independent journalist Alex Berenson does a great daily update of how the actual observed results on the ground remain vastly lower than what Dr. Fauci’s statistical model projects. Here is his update for today:

It’s not even close, folks. Not even in the ballpark. It’s exactly the same scam as the “Climate Change” models, whose projections are never, without exception supported by actual observations. It’s the same thing, with Fauci in the role of Al Gore.

At tonight’s Task Force update, Dr. Deborah Birx admitted that the most current run of this faulty model now projects 93,000 U.S. deaths through September, down from the 100,000 to 200,000 it was projecting just 3 days ago. Why is that number going down? Because the actual results on the ground are continuing to be fed into its faulty modeling process.

Yet, Dr. Fauci continues to go out and do his media appearances, peddling his alarmist rhetoric wherever he can in an ongoing effort to prolong the destruction of the U.S. economy. This is a strategy he somehow failed to attempt in 2009, when H1N1 ravaged the U.S. and other countries, and it is a strategy he ignores annually as our country loses 40,000 to 60,000 to the seasonal flu, for which Fauci and his fellow “experts” claim we have an actual vaccine.

Of course, the truth about that vaccine is that it is about 30-40% effective at best. The truth about the vaccine for Wuhan Virus Fauci continues to claim is going to be available in 12-18 months is that it will be about that effective as well.

Meanwhile, Fauci continues to downplay the effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine in treating this current plague, despite multiple peer-reviewed scientific studies and anecdotal tests that have found it to be almost 100% effective.  If we had a drug that was that effective at treating the seasonal flu, 100s of thousands of dead Americans would be alive today.

Here’s our country’s reality: Before we go too much further down the road on this nation-destroying “strategy,” the President needs to put Fauci and his model out to pasture and bring in some new experts. Maybe even think about bringing in some experts who don’t have such obvious, blatant conflicts of interest.

No One Elected Dr. Fauci to Run America for the Next 18 Months

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Funny, I don’t remember Dr. Anthony Fauci’s name being on the November, 2016 ballot.  – The updates from the White House Coronavirus Task Force have become a daily exercise in subliminal messaging for those who are paying close attention. Which, unfortunately, excludes the dimwitted members of the White House press corps. But I digress.

Let’s look at yesterday’s press conference. Even though he only came into the event for its second half, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, seems to be running our entire country right now. His remarks at this update made it very clear that he wants to run the country for another 12 to 18 months.

If you were paying attention to what he actually said during this presser, he told you that pretty clearly:

After US Health Secretary Alex Azar said a coronavirus vaccine candidate had been developed in three days, with a clinical trial already in the works, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the top infectious diseases advisor to the White House, sought to temper his enthusiasm.

Fauci, director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, said that the earliest the US could possibly get a vaccine would be in 12 or even 18 months — “at least.”

[End]

Now, that was a startling statement given that it came in the context of his answer to a question from a reporter about when we could expect our intentionally depressed business community to be able to restart and return to something resembling normalcy. Fauci made it very clear that he views this additional month of everyone staying at home and millions losing their livelihoods as just a starting point for his strategy for fighting this Wuhan Virus.

Meanwhile, President Trump, who has thus far seen fit to defer to Fauci’s judgment, continues to send a conflicting message: That once April is over, he is going to start working to get people back to work. Where Fauci obviously wants to keep everyone locked in their homes well into 2021, the President is obviously thinking that, once we get over the hump of this viral “curve,” people will be able to get back to work and their kids back to school, even if they have to go to those places wearing face masks and gloves.

What this means is that, at some point around mid-April, the President and Fauci are likely to end up in a major confrontation, out of which a unified strategy will emerge. If Fauci really thinks he’s been appointed by anyone to run our entire country for 18 months, he has a big surprise coming his way soon.

And let’s never forget that Dr. Fauci is the guy who wrote not one, but two love letters to Hillary Rodham Clinton a few years ago:

Warm regards, Tony

[End]

Given that throwing America into a deep, dark economic depression and keeping it there through November plays right into the hands of awful ghouls like the Pantsuit Princess, these two frankly stunning letters raise severe concerns about Fauci’s motivations in all of this, not to mention his overall judgment and self-awareness.

In all fairness to the lovelorn Dr. Fauci, he has just one job: To fight infectious disease. Now, it’s a job that he has not done especially well over his career, given that our country continues to lose 40-60,000 citizens each year to the seasonal flu. And let’s remember: Fauci  and the CDC continue to pretend that we actually have a “vaccine” for the various strains of seasonal flu. That’s a reality that should make everyone say “yikes.”

So, Fauci wants to keep you all out of work and stuck in your homes for another 18 months, without seeming to even consider the truth that millions upon millions of Americans will in fact lose those homes if he is able to keep them out of work for even a small fraction of that many months. Many are in fact losing their homes right now because they live paycheck to paycheck and couldn’t pay their rent for April.

And at the end of that long period of time, Fauci proclaims we will have us a spanking new “vaccine” that will in all likelihood be every bit as [in]effective as the “vaccine” for the seasonal flu. Meaning, even when we have that “vaccine,” tens of thousand of Americans are going to continue to die every year from the Wuhan Virus.

Thus, at some point President Trump – you know, the guy who was actually elected to run this country in 2016 – and Americans everywhere are going to have a decision to make much sooner than Fauci would like: We can either see thousands of our fellow citizens die each year destitute and cowering in their homes, or we can see thousands of our fellow citizens die from the Wuhan Virus while getting this country running again.

That’s the real choice here, not the fantasy of some miracle “vaccine” Dr. Fauci keeps peddling.

Our focus right now is properly on slowing the spread of the virus to get our country firmly on the downside of that viral curve. Once we are on that downside, our focus then should shift to marshaling all of our nation’s resources to early identification and isolation of those who contract the Wuhan Virus and effectively treating those who are ill. If we no longer have a strong economy, our ability to marshal such resources will diminish rapidly over time and more people will die as a result.

This is not, as the Democrat/media propaganda complex is already beginning to say, a “choice between money and lives.” It is a choice between prospering while limiting risk, or cowering through a dystopian existence that we intentionally brought on ourselves.

Sometime during the second half of April, you should expect President Trump to lay that choice out before us, and you should get ready to go back to work.

We’re Americans, dammit. When that time comes, let’s act like it.

That is all.

Tuesday’s Coronavirus Task Force Briefing: Stunning, Compelling, Must-See TV

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Tuesday evening’s Coronavirus Task Force update was especially compelling in many ways. It was a very somber event, during which President Donald Trump, Vice President and Task Force leader Mike Pence and doctors Deborah Birx and Anthony Fauci informed the nation about the reasons behind their current messaging that America should expect somewhere between 100,000 and 200,000 people to die from the Wuhan Virus, COVID-19.

It went on for more than 2 hours, as the single most accessible President in modern U.S. history and the Task Force members addressed every question the corrupt press corps wanted to ask. At the end, the President told the reporters that “it was an honor to be here with you today” and it seemed as if he actually meant it.

We watched every moment of it in our home, and felt like it had been an honor to do so. Here is a list of some of the more interesting aspects of the event:

The press corps was actually fairly well-behaved. – Someone had obviously dressed down both Jim Acosta and Yamichi Alcindor, the two most idiotic and preening members of the White House press corps. Both were chastened and both asked questions that were actually somewhat on-point for the first time in memory.

President Trump called on Acosta five separate times. – He did that despite the fact that the scumbags who run CNN chose to not air the President’s opening remarks, which contained the most important information for the public to understand. Why Trump continues to recognize anyone from what is nothing more than a rank propaganda outlet defies all understanding or logic. Enough.

The President ignored Alcindor until the final 10 minutes. – When he called on her, she posed her questions politely and without her normal rancor and accusatory tone. She had obviously been warned, either by he White House staff, or by her bosses at PBS.

The press can’t understand the model. – The most amusing part of the event was watching as the dimwitted members of the press asked question after question of Birx and Fauci in a vain effort to actually grasp what they were being told. They never really did figure it out.

Birx and Fauci were presenting a worst-case scenario. – Birx especially kept subtly pointing this out. During at least three different answers to dumb questions, she basically stated that the model they are using takes what is currently happening in New York and New Jersey and assumes through extrapolation that every other state in the nation will experience the same progression curve with this virus. By doing that, this model – which just 2 weeks ago projected 1 million to 2.2 million U.S. deaths from the Wuhan Virus – is able to get to its current projection of 100,000 to 200,000 deaths. As both Birx and Fauci pointed out, statistical models are only as good as their data and assumptions, and this one is based on very bad assumptions.

This method is absurdly overstating the most likely outcome. – Both New York and New Jersey are densely-populated coastal states whose major airports received huge portions of the 10,000 China natives who flew into this country during November through January every damn day while the ChiCom government was lying about the extent of the outbreak in Wuhan Province, and how contagious the virus truly is. In addition, New York City was especially slow in responding to the outbreak, with Marxist Mayor Bill de Blasio still advising his citizens to go about their normal lives as late as March 10. The reality of our country is that virtually no other state is going to have anything remotely close to the experience in New York and New Jersey.

Washington and California are more relevant. – Both of these coastal states were also receiving thousands of travelers from China every day throughout that early period. Both were also early centers for the outbreak. Yet, because both states are much less densely populated than New York and New Jersey, and because their state and big-city leaders responded much more quickly and forcefully than de Blasio and Andrew Cuomo, their curves are vastly lower than their East Coast counterparts. Washington’s curve already even appears to have peaked. Geographically and demographically, these two states look far more like the rest of the country than New York and New Jersey.

Birx and Fauci are going to have some real explaining to do in the future. – When we get to the end of April and the numbers of actual U.S. deaths and infections turn to have been a small fraction of what these two alarmist doctors laid out for the nation on Tuesday, millions of Americans, while relieved at the lower numbers, are going to demand a real explanation. Sadly, just as they were yesterday, the White House press corps members will still be too confused and dim to even ask the right questions on behalf of the country.

The mitigation strategy is still valid and should be heeded. – All the alarmist overstatement aside, this is still a very deadly virus and the strategy of taking social actions to contain it is valid. Don’t kid yourselves otherwise, especially if you fall into the most vulnerable categories. Stay at home, wash your hands and stay 6 feet away from literally everybody when you have to go out for groceries.

Mike Pence is coming into his own. – I’ve never been all that impressed with Vice President Mike Pence. I find him to be wooden, boring and his speaking style to be artificial, stilted and largely insincere. But we all need to recognize the tremendous public service this man has done in leading this Task Force. By every account, he has worked tirelessly to ensure the best outcome possible for our country, and he has become a more imposing and impressive presence at these daily briefings with each passing day. Before yesterday’s briefing, during which he twice took charge of the process, I have never seen him as a potential future president. Now, I do.

Good for him, and good for the country.

Stay safe.

Corrupt Media Outlets: Damned if They do Cover Trump, Damned if They Don’t

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Just in case you were still laboring under the delusion that CNN and MSNBC are actual “news” organizations, know this: When President Donald Trump (I never tire of typing those three glorious words) had to leave his daily Coronavirus Task Force press briefing early yesterday, turning it over to Vice President Mike Pence and doctors Anthony Fauci and Deborah Birx, the corrupt reporters for CNN and MSNBC also left.

What does that tell you? It tells you that CNN and MSNBC view their sole purpose for covering those events as an effort to cause some controversy involving the President in their neverending efforts to damage him personally. Their corrupt reporters are not there to hear from the experts; they aren’t there to gather real-time information about the China Virus pandemic so that they can convey it to their viewers; they are are there with a single, overarching goal in mind, which is to find a way to damage the President of the United States, who is himself focused on steering a nation of 339 million people through a major crisis.

Think about it: These same two corrupt media outlets went nuts earlier this week when Dr. Fauci was not present for 3 of the updates over a span of 5 days. They ran story after story and convened TV panel after TV panel claiming Fauci was being unfairly excluded from the events because he had disagreed with the President on the potential of hydorxychloroquine as a coronavirus treatment.

But Dr. Fauci chastised reporters on Sunday and Monday for attempting to drive a wedge between him and the President, stating that it was “not helpful” and demanding that they stop. Since he did that, these utterly corrupt media outlets suddenly have no interest in hearing from the guy they were portraying as the second coming of Mother Teresa and Albert Einstein not even a week ago.

If he isn’t useful in creating negative “news” about the President, he isn’t useful to them, period.

This pattern is certainly not limited to CNN and MSNBC – they are simply the most blatant about their bias and corruption, parading those traits out there on the air and websites every day like figurative badges of honor. It really applies to all the major networks, newspapers and magazines in the country – even to Fox News, although to a somewhat lesser extent.

We hear a lot of conservative voices complaining about the idiotic behavior of the reporters at these daily updates, but I think that is actually a very good thing for our country. As the New York Post reported yesterday, these events are attracting huge ratings, serving both as substitutes for the massive rallies the President is unable to hold during this crisis and as a window for the public to view the utterly irresponsible and unhinged behavior of the press corps.

From that New York Post article:

President Trump’s daily White House coronavirus briefings are a ratings hit.

The president, who has taken the lead in the task force’s daily updates to the nation, has attracted an average audience of about 8.5 million viewers on cable news — about the number of viewers who watched the season finale of “The Bachelor,” The New York Times reported on Wednesday, citing Nielsen numbers.

And as the outbreak continues to surge across the country and more Americans abide by shelter-in-place orders in a number of states, the viewership is increasing.

Monday’s briefing drew 12.2 million people on CNN, MSNBC and Fox News, ratings similar to those of “Monday Night Football.”

Fox News has benefited from the briefings, with the cable network attracting 6.2 million viewers on Monday, numbers on par with popular prime-time shows.

The newspaper said millions more are watching on the traditional networks — ABC, CBS and NBC, as well as online — but they offer less reliable numbers than the cable stations because of the way Nielsen ratings are measured.

[End]

So, millions of Americans – especially younger ones – are really getting their first taste of exactly how idiotic and overwrought the White House press corps really is, thanks to these daily briefings. At the same time, they are also getting a big dose of the real Donald Trump, coming to them live on their TV screens without any filter  from corrupt and biased talking heads.

The corrupt media organizations began to wake up to this monster they have helped to create last week, when polls showing high public approval for the President’s handling of the crisis began to come out. There is so much concern over this phenomenon now in Democrat/media propaganda land that we have seen a steady drumbeat of op/eds advocating for the TV outlets to actually stop covering the updates live in recent days.

But that’s a big problem: These updates have now become ‘must-see TV’ in tens of millions of homes across America, as people going stir crazy from being shut-in hunger for any news that might give them an idea of when their sheltering-in-place might come to a merciful end.

If the corrupt TV outlets now move to deny them this form of daily entertainment, they face a potential backlash that could be severe. It would be like denying people their daily dose of Wheel of Fortune.

It’s a real conundrum.

The simple reality is this: President Trump has broken the corrupt news media, likely forever. He has now put them in a spot in which they are damned if they do cover these daily updates, and damned if they stop covering them. Given the sorry conduct of these corrupt media outlets over the last four years, that is a very just reward.

That is all.

Another Monday, Two More Democrat/Media Hoaxes

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

We now have two new Democrat/media hoaxes underway. – As the President’s public approval ratings continue to flourish during this China Virus crisis, Democrats and their toadies in the corrupt news media have flitted about in a desperate search to find some narrative – any narrative at all would do – to knock them down.

Yesterday, they tried releasing the nation’s Unfrozen Caveman Senator from his hiding place, to give a “counter-briefing” on coronavirus matters. That strategy predictably crashed and burned as Quid Pro Joe couldn’t remember his dictated lines at the point at which the Teleprompter had a glitch:

Such are the hazards of having a presumptive nominee who is suffering from obvious advancing dementia. All told, Biden talked for about 8 minutes, safely at home with no reporters tossing vicious questions at him, and was so disastrous that ABC didn’t even mention it on its evening newscast. Contrast that to President Trump, who conducted a 90-minute update and handled hostile and idiotic questions from the depraved White House press corps for over an hour, and you see the Democrats’ problem here. The contrast is not just stark, but incredibly disturbing to anyone with a functional cerebral cortex.

So the Democrat/media complex of propaganda needed a new narrative with which to try to diminish the President’s performance. On Monday, they landed on one they completely made up out of whole cloth, and another tragic one that fell into their lap.

The “Where’s Anthony Fauci” narrative. – It has become apparent over the past 10 days or so that President Trump is increasingly uncomfortable with the draconian measures to control this virus being recommended to him by Dr. Anthony Fauci and the CDC. As the “remedy” to this latest in a long line of viruses brought to us by China increasingly appears to potentially be more deadly than the outbreak itself, Fauci’s time speaking during task force updates has decreased.

Things really seemed to get tense between the two last week when Fauci aggressively downplayed scientific, peer-reviewed studies and anecdotal evidence from China and South Korea that show that hydroxychloroquine can be very effective in actually curing the China Virus. Anyone who argues with the President immediately becomes a hero to the corrupt media; thus, Fauci’s absence from the podium created a mini-panic among the press corps.

After he failed to appear for the second consecutive day’s briefing on Monday, the news-fakers at the New York Times ran a piece that portrays Fauci, who has utterly failed to effectively deal with an array of viral outbreaks over his 40 year career, and whose CDC thinks nothing of losing upwards of 60,000 Americans to the common flu every year, as the second coming of Mother Teresa in an article laced with libelous false statements about the President. Because of course they did – it’s what these ghouls do for a living, after all.

Once the Times led the way, pretty much every other corrupt news outlet in America followed with parroting pieces of their own, containing all the anti-Trump talking points that went out in the evening memo from the DNC. All the hosts and leftist talking heads on CNN and MSNBC followed suit. This is how it all works.

UPDATE: For his own part, Dr. Fauci denied in a radio interview on Monday that there are any substantial differences between himself and President Trump related to dealing with this virus:

Key Quote: DR. FAUCI says media is trying to “pit” him against President Trump. “That is really unfortunate. I would wish that that would stop. … there are not differences. The president has listened to what I have said… The idea of pitting one against the other is just not helpful.”

What Dr. Fauci apparently fails to grasp is that our corrupt news media has no interest in being “helpful.” It’s only interest is in advancing the Democrat party line, and thus harming the bad Orange Man.

The “Chloroquine killed a guy!” narrative. – Early Monday evening, the corrupt news-fakers at The Hill broke a story that contained this absurdly deceptive headline:

Man dies after taking malaria medication in effort to prevent coronavirus

The story, of course, is supposedly about hydroxychloroquine, the malaria medication that President Trump has touted as a potential cure for the China Virus on several occasions in recent days. The problem with the headline is that this man – and his wife, who was also hospitalized – did NOT take the prescription medication being used to fight this virus, as the story itself even admits:

“A man has died and his wife is under critical care after the couple, both in their 60s, ingested chloroquine phosphate, an additive commonly used at aquariums to clean fish tanks. Within thirty minutes of ingestion, the couple experienced immediate effects requiring admittance to a nearby Banner Health hospital,” the statement read.

These people ingested FISH TANK CLEANER that contains chloroquine and expected it to somehow protect them. Here’s some good advice, folks: DON’T INGEST FISH TANK CLEANER, BECAUSE IT MIGHT KILL YOU. This is something most 5 year-old children understand.

You seriously could never make this stuff up. Not in a million years.

But hey, nevermind pesky things like facts and truth – the entirety of the fake, corrupt news media ran with this story anyway as if this couple’s tragic stupdity somehow means we cannot possibly use this cheap, well-known, safe drug that has been prescribed millions of times by doctors all over the world to fight the China Virus.

It is fair to once again remind you that many of the corporations who own these corrupt media outlets are heavily-invested in and from China, whose communist government gave us this plague.

These people hate you and want you dead. That reality has never been more clear than it is today.

That is all.

Positive Signals From Trump and Barr

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

This is a tweet to remember. – Many, including yours truly, have expressed concerns that the “cure” for this Chinese virus being prescribed by the federal, state and local governments may, if it becomes any sort of long-term effort, end up creating an economic catastrophe of such proportions that it would end up being worse than the effects of the virus itself. Last night, it became apparent that President Donald Trump shares that concern.

At 10:50 p.m. eastern time Sunday evening, the President issued this all-caps tweet:

This can only be taken as a positive signal that the President at least intends for this massive closing of a huge portion of our national economy to be a temporary phenomenon. With the questionable motives of Anthony Fauci and the CDC, and the natural inclination by bureaucrats at the FDA to work to prolong timelines in their endless turf protection efforts, it is good to know that, while the President has rightly followed most of their recommendations to this point, he remains skeptical and focused on producing the best possible outcome for the American people.

For further emphasis on this message, the President re-tweeted it at around noon ET on Monday, as this piece was being written. It is clearly something he wants all of his various audiences – you, the corrupt media, congress and his team of advisors – to understand. This is an extremely positive signal.

Meanwhile, on the John Durham front… – In an interview published Monday morning in the Wall Street Journal, Attorney General William Barr made sure to let it be known that his and U.S. Attorney John Durham’s effort to “investigate the investigators” has not fallen victim to the Chinese virus. From a report in the Washington Examiner:

Attorney General William Barr told the Wall Street Journal in an interview published Monday that Durham, the top federal prosecutor in Connecticut, was in Washington, D.C., last week working on the high-profile inquiry with staffers.

“There’s some discombobulation, but part of what we’re trying to do is keep up the mission,” Barr said of the Justice Department’s commitment to proceed with criminal investigations, prioritize coronavirus-related fraud prosecutions, keep the justice system functioning amid court closures and trial suspensions, and pursue other Trump administration priorities during a deadly outbreak.

Last week, Fox News reported that Durham was on pace to finish his “investigation of the investigators” by the summer. One source “suggested the investigation could end as soon as July.” But another “said it could be closer to September, based on Durham’s progress, which could be hindered by the coronavirus pandemic rocking the nation and the globe.”

Rep. Jim Jordan, an Ohio Republican, also said this month that Durham’s inquiry is “due to be completed sometime this summer.”
[End]

So, at least if you believe William Barr – a prospect that becomes harder and harder as time goes on without a single indictment of any of the treasonous members of the Obama-era Coup Cabal – Mr. Durham is still on the job and working towards some kind of conclusion.  That conclusion had ultimately better include multiple indictments and prosecutions of the real bad actors who worked so hard to destroy our democratic processes, and not just of low-level flunkies who make convenient scapegoats.

Failure to do that would create a devastating blow to millions of Americans’ faith in our legal justice system.

So, thanks for the positive update, Mr. Barr, but some real actions would speak much louder than your comforting words.

Or, as The King would have put it:

A little less conversation, a little more action please
All this aggravation ain’t satisfactioning me
A little more bite and a little less bark
A little less fight and a little more spark
Close your mouth and open up your heart and baby satisfy me
Satisfy me baby

What is Anthony Fauci’s Real Agenda?

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

These are not the polls the corrupt news media was hoping to see. Not at all. – After two solid weeks of the corrupt news media and prominent Democrats parroting the talking points of the communist Chinese government, the public is obviously grown weary of the nonsense. No one with a normal, functioning brain believes that the terms “Chinese flu” or “China virus” that President Donald Trump likes to use are in any real way “racist.” They simply – and accurately – identify the source of the virus that is killing thousands of people all over the world.

The public’s weariness of the tiresome media/Democrat narrative is now showing up in polling data, with no fewer than four new national polls this past week showing strong majorities of Americans pulling together to reject the narrative and approving of the President’s handling of the crisis. In the two most recent polls, taken this week as the media focus on this non-issue reached a fever pitch, the majority margin is now in double digits.

A new ABC/Ipsos poll released early on Friday shows the approve/disapprove ratio at 55% to 43%, and a new poll from Morning Consult released on Friday afternoon pegs the margin at a whopping 53% to 39%.

The corrupt media petulance moved into the silly season at Friday’s Coronavirus Task Force press conference. The questioning became so absurd that even the normally composed Dr. Anthony Fauci, a 40+ year veteran of such events, snapped at the media twice for reporters’ efforts to mischaracterize some of his own comments.

Unfortunately, though, Fauci’s own comments – intentionally downplaying the potential for hydroxychloroquine to treat coronavirus – ended up playing a dominant role in the presser.

The President’s most notable confrontation of the Friday event came with inveterate jackass MSNBC reporter Peter Alexander, who decided it was his role to debate the POTUS on whether or not he was being “reassuring” enough to the American people.

Here’s a longer, unedited clip of the exchange, not the highly-edited one pretty much every TV outlet decided to run with later:

Transcript:

Alexander: What do you say to Americans who are scared, though, nearly 200 dead, 14,000 who are sick, millions, as you witness, who are scared right now. What do you say to Americans who are watching you right now who are scared?

Trump: I say that you are a terrible reporter. That’s what I say. [crosstalk]

Alexander: [badgering now] But what do you say…

Trump: I say that’s a very nasty question, and I think it’s a very bad signal that you’re putting out to the American people. The American people are looking for answers, and they are looking for hope. And you’re doing sensationalism, and the same with NBC and Comcast, I don’t call…

Alexander: [more badgering]

Trump: …I don’t call it Comcast, I call it Concast…[more badgering] let me just, for who you work…[more badgering] let me just tell you something: That’s really bad reporting, and you ought to get back to reporting instead of sensationalism. Let’s see if it [hydroxychloroquine] works: It might, and it might not. [more badgering] I happen to feel good about it, but who knows? I’ve been right a lot. Let’s see what happens.

[End]

Now, what had led up to this was really caused by Dr. Fauci, whose real agenda in all of this remains a matter that is still up in the air. Fauci, despite multiple peer-reviewed international studies – one of which we talked about in yesterday’s Campaign Update – indicating that hydroxychloroquine, a plentiful, well-known anti-Malaria treatment, is highly effective in actually curing coronavirus, had just finished his own statement during which he severely downplayed the potential for that drug to help in this pandemic, choosing instead to focus on new drugs that are in the development phase.

Several things are important to note here:

  1. Fauci is a life-long bureaucrat, and it is the nature of bureaucrats to protect their own turf and always seek to expand it. His remarks were entirely consistent with this professional outlook.
  2. Those new drugs stand to make billions for American Big Pharma in the context of this plague.
  3. Profits from mass production and distribution of a well-known, pre-existing drug like hydroxychloroquine would be far, far less. And,
  4. The use of an already-approved, well-known drug denies federal bureaucrats the opportunity to gum up the process and claim credit.

So, what is Fauci’s real motivation here? Is he just another turf-protecting bureaucrat who is being influenced by corporations and their lobbyists? It certainly happens. But to his credit, Fauci did come back to the podium later and lecture the reporters in the room for overstating his previous remarks.

Another concern about Fauci surfaced on Friday, this in the form of a letter he sent to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton after her shamefully dishonest Benghazi-related testimony before the House Intelligence Committee in 2013. Here is the text of that email, which can best be characterized as a love letter, found yesterday in the files of WikiLeaks:

From your doctor admirer From: Fauci, Anthony (NIH/NIAID) [E]

Sent: Wednesday, January 23, 2013 6:10 PM

To: Mills, Cheryl D

Subject: Today’s performance

Cheryl: Anyone who had any doubts about the Secretary’s stamina and capability following her illness had those doubts washed away by today’s performance before the Senate and the House. She faced extremely difficult circumstances at the Hearings and still she hit it right out of the park. Please tell her that we all love her and are very proud to know her.

Warm regards, Tony

Anthony S. Fauci, MD

31 Center Drive, MSC 2520

National Institutes of Health Bethesda, MD 20892-2520

Phone: (301) 496-2263 FAX: (301) 47-4409 E-mail: afauci

[End]

My goodness. “Please tell her we all love her”? Really???

At best, this letter and his remarks at Friday’s press conference show lack of judgment and situational awareness on Dr. Fauci’s part. At worst, well, let’s hope the worst case scenario is not in play, because lives are literally at stake.

Bottom line, it is best to treat everything this guy says with a very skeptical ear.

That is all.
