Time Swings and Misses With Another Person of the Year Pick

Today’s Campaign Update, Part III
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Here is Time Magazine’s Person of the Year:

Time’s Person of the Year is a 17 year-old girl who:

– Was born in to great white privilege in her racially-homogeneous country of Sweden;

– Has lived a prosperous and privileged life provided to her by her neglectful, attention-seeking parents, both of whom are performers and radical leftist activists;

– Has been used and abused by every adult who has ever held influence over her life;

– Is currently being held up as a poster child by the radical climate alarmist community in order to advance its globalist/socialist political agenda;

– Is fond of constantly lecturing all adults who will listen to her angry hectoring that they have “stolen my childhood” despite her prosperous life of white privilege; and

– Became famous by hitching a ride on a very wealthy billionaire’s sailboat to float across the Atlantic to the U.S. early this year.

Here are Time’s stated criteria for awarding its annual Person of the Year designation:

“Person of the Year (called Man of the Year or Woman of the Year until 1999) is an annual issue of the United States news magazine Time that features and profiles a person, a group, an idea, or an object that “for better or for worse… has done the most to influence the events of the year“.

Think about that for a moment: 2019 is a year hundreds of thousands of Hong Kong citizens have risked their very lives taking to the streets to protest the Communist government in China. It is a year in which similar numbers of Iranians have taken similar risks in defying the ruling Mullahs in their own country. Hundreds of these ordinary people have lost their lives as a result of their courageous advocacy for simple human dignity and freedoms.

2019 is a year in which Democrat congressman Adam Schiff successfully held up the business of the entire federal government for months with a clown show, Soviet-style impeachment process. What about him, and what about the fake “whistleblower” – Eric Ciaramella – who served as the catalyst for the entire process?

2019 is a year in which Donald Trump and his Administration created the most vibrant and booming economy on the face of the earth, while at the same time hamstringing China’s hegemony with crushing tariffs. What about him?

2019 is a year in which the rousing success of the brilliant men and women who run the U.S. oil and gas industry created the conditions that will allow the United States to ultimately completely disengage from wars in the Middle East, other than to protect Israel. What about them?

If you have to be politically correct and want to give it to some climate alarmist, what about Alexandria Ocasio Cortez? Unlike Greta – who just admitted to the climate conference in Madrid that she her fellow alarmists “have achieved nothing” – AOC’s introduction of the “Green New Deal” has already influenced the policy positions of literally every man and woman running for the 2020 Democrat Party presidential nomination. Love her or hate her, AOC has, unlike Greta, actually done a lot to “influence the events of the year” in a real, substantive manner.

I hold no animosity towards little Greta. I actually feel a great deal of empathy and sadness for her, since she is a child who has basically been used shamelessly by every adult who she has ever had significant contact with.

But she is a poster child – a cute face for the globalist socialist movement to use on its “climate change” ads. And the saddest part about her is that, once her childish cuteness has worn off – and that will not take very long given her constant scowling – she will be completely discarded by these people and forgotten within days.

The best thing well-intentioned people can do for Greta is to pray for her future.

That is all.

Will John Bolton Fix the Leaky Valve at the NSC?

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Man, another slow news day – having a hard time finding anything to write about.  Lessee here…

Down goes McMaster!  Down goes McMaster!  Down goes McMaster! – General H.R. McMaster, who has run the leaky valve we call the National Security Council (NSC) for the past 13 months, was finally, at long last given his walking papers on Thursday.  The move comes after the latest in a long series of major, embarrassing leaks that most likely came from either the General or his staff earlier this week.

That leak came when the substance of the President’s call with Vladimir Putin – including Trump’s congratulation on his fake election win, a matter of simple courtesy that was also extended by Barack Obama in 2012 – was leaked to the press, along with briefing notes compiled by the NSC advising Mr. Trump not to offer such congratulations.  The leak, as so many emanating from the NSC before it had been, was designed to embarrass President Trump, and it appears the POTUS had finally had enough.

The White House put out a statement late Wednesday that characterized this leak as “likely illegal” and promised to fire the person or persons responsible for it.  About 17 hours later, H.R. McMaster was starting the process of hunting for another job.  Hey, don’t feel sorry for him – he will no doubt have his pick of gigs at CNN, MSNBC, the Washington Post and the New York Times, fake media outlets that love to reward the hands that feed them.

In a tweet issued to announce the firing, President Trump thanked the 3-star General and said he would “always remain my friend.”  So, obviously, the President wants to create as little controversy as possible around the McMaster ouster.  It will be interesting to see if the White House is ever able to identify anyone else responsible for the leak of the Putin conversation, and if bringing in a new National Security Advisor has the effect of tamping down the leaks going forward.  Because with a “security council” like this, well, who needs it?

To replace McMaster, Trump named Bush-era UN Ambassador and noted neo-con John Bolton, so he’s replacing a liberal globalist Susan Rice fan with a very conservative war hawk who tends to favor U.S. intervention all over the world.  Appearing on Fox News shortly after his hiring had been announced, Bolton joked that, to get the job, “I promised not to start any wars.”  I’m not really sure that’s funny.

Whatever, Bolton will be a huge upgrade if he just doesn’t engage in the habit of leaking classified information to the nearest fake reporter.

Hey, guess which students are very predictably on the cover of the new issue of Time Magazine? – If you said “Parkland students,” you are partially right.  The fully correct answer, of course, is “a handful of Parkland students who are anti-2nd amendment and being manipulated by a bunch of leftwing anti-gun groups,” you are fully correct.

Because, of course, only the brainwashed children who want to take your rights away fit the anti-gun narrative the fake news media and Democrat Party have pushed for the last 50 years.  So tiresome.

Hey, remember those DACA “kids” (average age: 26)? Remember how I told you way back in December that the Democrat Party would never, never, never, ever agree to any sort of deal on their situation because they want to keep that issue alive through election day in November?  Yeah, we had another example of the truth of that overnight.

In the wee hours of the morning, the U.S. Senate – the most useless deliberative body on earth – approved yet another continuing resolution to fund the government, this time through the end of the fiscal year on September 30.  It is an utter, complete, total disgrace of a bill, a budget-busting monstrosity that not only continues funding for every leftwing priority but increases the money for most of them, a total capitulation by the Republicans in which pretty much the only thing that isn’t funded in any real way is increased border security and a border wall.  Thank you, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell.

Wait.  The other thing this “compromise” (read: Republican capitulation) bill doesn’t have in it is any sort of “fix” for those poor, poor “Dreamers”.  Golly, nobody could have seen that coming.

The two happiest people in the nation’s capital this morning are San Fran Nan and Chuck Schumer, who are no doubt hung over from all those toasts they were drinking during the night to Ryan, McConnell and the rest of the shameful establishment wing of the GOP.

If you are searching for the reason why Republicans hate Republicans, this bill is pretty much your Holy Grail.

Just another day in establishment Republicans selling out America.

That is all.
