129 Republicans Disgrace Themselves in House Show Vote on Syria

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Remember those Republicans who supported Nancy Pelosi and betrayed the American voters with this vote. – I have very often been thoroughly disgusted with the behavior of spineless, disloyal Republicans in the U.S. Congress, but seldom as disgusted as I felt on Wednesday afternoon.

That was when we got news that 129 Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives joined with Nancy Pelosi and the Democrat caucus in a vote to condemn President Trump’s decision to pull U.S. military personnel out of harm’s way as the Turkish military invaded Northern Syria on Sunday. That decision involved about 50 U.S. military advisors who would have otherwise been trapped between the Turkish and Kurdish forces, and another 1,000 or so U.S. personnel who were already well away from the front.

This vote was a shameful act, and I’m frankly embarrassed to see the names of Texans like Kevin Brady, Dan Crenshaw and John Ratcliffe on the list of “yea” votes for this despicable, non-binding resolution. Here is why these were shameful votes: The U.S. Constitution grants Congress the sole power to declare war on another country. If these posturing, blustering politicians truly feel so horrified by the President’s decision to keep our country’s military personnel safe, and so strongly about siding with the Kurdish forces – who, by the way, regularly make incursions into Turkey against U.S. advice – then they need to man-up and hold a vote on a declaration of war.

Doing what they did on Wednesday is simply political posturing designed to allow them to go tell their voters that they bravely defied the President in a vote that in reality does nothing but provide political support for the Democrat Party. It’s disgusting, and I had hoped that I would not see the three men listed above – whom I have held in high regard – engaging in this sort of political cowardice.

Most Americans have no regard at all for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is a despicable, brutish thug. But the centuries-old conflict between the Turks and the Kurds is every bit as unsolvable as all the myriad other centuries-old conflicts involving various peoples and religious factions in the Middle East. These conflicts existed long before the United States of America was born, and will persist long after the Democrats succeed in dividing the U.S. into two or more separate nations.

They are, in other words, not our problem, and if the last 28 years have taught us nothing else, they should have taught every American that neither our country nor any other nation on earth, no matter how well-intentioned or powerful, is capable of resolving them peacefully. All we are capable of doing is ensuring the ongoing killing takes place in a reorganized fashion.

Donald Trump was elected to the presidency in large part to get our military personnel out of the middle of never-ending conflicts like this one, and that is what he decided to do on Sunday.  He inherited a set of quagmires from his four predecessors in office, holding a mandate from the voters to get our country out of them.

For members of congress, for warmonger John McCain disciples like Lindsey Graham, who are currently wringing their hands about the supposed “rebirth of ISIS,” the way to prevent that being a threat to America is to act on the other main reason why Donald Trump won the 2016 election and pass legislation designed to get control of our damn borders.

In other words, instead of going on Fox News and CNN to channel John McCain and lecture the President about “abandoning our allies,” Graham and Brady and Ratcliffe and Chrenshaw need to be going on those channels and others to pound the Democrats for abandoning the American people.

But that would take political will, something that is always in short supply among Republican members of congress.

Again, here is the link to the roll call on Wednesday’s show vote. Memorize those 129 Republican names, and if one of them represents your district, do something to let them know about your displeasure with yesterday’s abandonment of the American people. Because the 2016 election was a referendum on this very issue, and their side lost.

That is all.

Pelosi, Schumer and Hoyer Stage Another DC Swamp-Kabuki Theater Act

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Elijah Cummings died. – I have nothing nice to say about him, so I will say nothing at all.  Here’s a link to the AP article about his death, which of course is a thoroughly one-sided, glowing review of his life. Somehow the Republic and Baltimore will survive.

San Fran Nan is sick. – At least, according to President Donald Trump, who issued the tweet below after Pelosi blew up yet again in a White House meeting and staged a very theatrical walkout along with Chuck Schumer and Steny Hoyer:

Hey, didn’t we already know this is a very sick – as in mentally deranged – woman? Pretty sure most of us did, and Schumer and Hoyer should be – but won’t be – roundly condemned for helping her stage this latest bit of DC Swamp Kabuki theater.

As a partial, taunting payback for this latest staged event, the President followed later with this hilarious tweet:

Naturally, the Democrat activist press corps slanted its reporting in coordination with the Democrat narrative, featuring Schumer’s laughable contention that “the Speaker kept her cool.” But as you can clearly see in the clip below, Pelosi is visibly shaking, a fake smile pasted onto her face and having a very hard time keeping her constantly-loose dentures in her mouth while Schumer was ranting.

For their part, the Democrats couldn’t even keep their own story straight. Schumer claimed President Trump called Pelosi a “third-rate politician,” while Pelosi said Trump had in fact called her a “third-grade politician.” Seriously? That’s why you walk out of what was supposedly such a crucially important bipartisan briefing on the goings-on in Syria right now?

And hell’s bells, regardless of which insult the President may or may not have uttered, everyone on the face of the earth knows that Pelosi is a shameless political hack, and being one has made her a fabulously wealthy person. So, what’s the big deal? Own it, Nan – being a despicable political hack is what defines your entire life.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy spoke to the press gaggle later, after participating in the full meeting, saying that “”They left the meeting, other Democrats stayed and we had the most normal meeting you could ever have that was productive with the general of the joint chiefs, the secretary of defense and the president talking about how do we keep the homeland safe.”

Oh.

In case any of you might be inclined to take what the Democrats staged yesterday as a serious, spur-of-the-moment fit of pique, remember that this is not the first time they’ve created this exact scenario as a means of trying to fire up their lunatic Twitter Outrage Mob base. This is just another Alinsky-style event, a part of their ongoing coup d’etat effort designed to try to lower the President’s public approval ratings by portraying him as an unstable madman occupying the White House.

It is no coincidence that this piece of choreography came on the same day that the President’s approval rating in the Rasmussen survey once again reached 50%. It also came just a day after Pelosi had to cancel a planned formal impeachment vote of the full House because she simply doesn’t have the votes in favor of making that move, and if she forces it, she dooms her 35 or so Democrats who represent traditionally-GOP districts.

It also took place on a day during which news came that Adam Schiff’s Soviet-style basement interrogations of witnesses like Ukraine Envoy Kurt Volker are not yielding the results the Democrat coup plotters have hoped for:

[excerpt from interrogation]

Schiff persisted. “And when that suspension of aid became known to that country, to Ukraine, it would be all the more weighty to consider what the president had asked of them, wouldn’t it?”

“So again, congressman, I don’t believe — ” Volker began.

“It’s a pretty straightforward question,” Schiff said.

“But I don’t believe the Ukrainians were aware that the assistance was being held up — ”

“They became aware of it,” Schiff said.

“They became aware later, but I don’t believe they were aware at the time, so there was no leverage implied,” Volker said.

[end]

Oh.

So, as we have seen time and time and time again from these Democrats and their media hack toadies, when the facts on the ground don’t support the narrative they are pushing, they stage a media event to distract the public’s attention. It’s a despicable tactic, one that undermines the stability of our society, and the constant progression of this kind of false-flag display pushes us closer to outright civil conflict with every passing day.

All of which makes it perfectly reasonable for the President to speculate that Pelosi “just plain doesn’t like our great Country.” The proof of that slaps us in the face on a daily basis.

That is all.

Another Day, Another Fake Controversy

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Another day, another fake controversy.  – The bipartisan Warmonger lobby is out in full force this morning after false media reports claiming President Donald Trump had decided to “pull all American forces out of Northern Syria” made their way into the public domain. That decision – which is not the decision that has in fact been made – has been further reported to mean that the President has “given the green light” to Turkish thug Recep Tayyip Erdogan to invade and seize that region from the Kurds, who currently occupy it.

Upon reading these fake reports, the titular leaders of the Warmonger lobby – Senator Lindsey Graham, #nevertrump nitwit Bill Kristol and “The View” harpy Megan McCain – all very predictably rushed to social media and television vent their panic about the possibility of the U.S. not being involved in some war anywhere in the world. Note the one thing all three of these vocal warmongers have most in common – a longstanding relationship to the late King of all Warmongers, John McCain.

What a legacy.

All of this “reporting” by the corrupt U.S. media is, of course, false. The Times of Israel reports what is actually happening on the ground in Syria:

The United States has pulled back a “very small number” of troops from areas of northern Syria along the Turkish border, a senior State Department official says, after US President Donald Trump seemed to indicate a wider retreat.

The pullback only concerns “two very small detachments” — meaning less than 25 people in total — that have been moved a “very short distance,” the official says.

The announcement of the redeployment was interpreted as an American green light for a Turkish military operation against Kurdish forces in northeast Syria.

But the State Department official insists that Trump had clearly told Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that the US did not endorse any such operation — a message also conveyed by the Pentagon.

“We think this operation is a very bad idea. We do not think this operation will provide more security,” the official says.

He says that, beyond the small pullback of troops, “there’s no change to our military posture in the northeast.”

Oh. You don’t say.

President Trump himself had this to say about the reality of his actions related to this situation:

Oh. You don’t say.

But wait! The Kurds are our allies! – the Warmonger lobby shrieks. Meghan McCain went further, calling anyone who supports the President’s policy move a “feckless, unpatriotic coward.” But it’s a safe bet you won’t see Ms. McCain grabbing an AR-15 and flying over to Syria to defend the Kurds. If they even need defending, which is not clear.

And hey, isn’t Turkey our NATO ally? Or are our NATO “allies” only “allies” when calling them that is convenient for our domestic Warmonger lobby? What’s the point of having a thug regime like Turkey’s in NATO if the rest of the NATO alliance, i.e., pretty much every European country, collectively refuses to do anything to limit its aggression without the blood and sacrifice of the United States military?

Here is what is actually happening here: President Trump is sick and tired of these European “allies” (this incident is starting to convince me that our country has far too many allies-in-name-only) refusing to live up to their own international commitments and obligations, and has called their bluff. They’ve all refused to take back all of the ISIS prisoners from their own countries, leaving that burden – as they leave basically every dangerous and expensive burden – up to the U.S.

So President Trump is turning those Euro-trash ISIS thugs over to the thugs in Turkey, and basically daring our European “allies”  and our domestic Warmonger lobby to do something about it.

The 25 U.S. military personnel who have been providing the “buffer” between Turkey and the Kurds – both of whom are sworn enemies, but both of whom are also U.S. “allies” – could be replaced in about 30 minutes by a NATO military presence made up of European personnel. That is, if – and it is a very big “if” – this is truly that urgent a matter to our European “allies.”

Which, for some reason, it doesn’t seem to be.

As for Sen. Graham and the rest of the members of congress who are shrieking with so much horror about this move, there is an easy solution: Draft a resolution declaring war on Turkey, or whoever you think we need to be at war with over there, and vote on it. That’s the way the Constitution says we’re supposed to do this war stuff, anyway.

Put it to a vote, and see if your constituents will support it. Good luck with that.

In the meantime, you’re going to have hell convincing me that President Trump’s moving 25 U.S. soldiers a few miles back from being directly in harm’s way is some sort of existential crisis.

Try again.

That is all.

This Past Week was President Trump Keeping his Promises

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Well, the day of decision is here, the time to decide whether you are going to stick with President Donald Trump all the way.  The fake news media and the Democrats, along with establishment Republican warmongers like John McCain, Jeff Flake and Bob Corker, are throwing everything they have at the President and his supporters, now going full ahead with the contention that supporting the man who was elected in 2016 is tantamount to treason.

The fuse that touched off the latest – and most intense to date – explosion of leftist, establishment, globalist heads in Washington was, of course, the President’s press conference performance as his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin came to a close.  Mr. Trump’s sin, as I pointed out last night, was to publicly question the veracity of the allegations of Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. elections contained in indictments brought down by a proven liar and stonewaller, Rod Rosenstein, and a Special Counsel’s office filled with Clinton/Obama activist hacks.  Those indictments were ostensibly based on information compiled by an FBI led by the likes of proven liars like Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok and James Comey.

Hard to imagine why anyone would question the work product of such a sterling cast of characters, right?

If the U.S. intelligence community wants to command the respect of the American people, then it might be a good idea for it to stop working against the interests and the will of the American people.  It might be a good idea to stop sending clear, practiced, transparent liars like Rosenstein and Strzok up to represent it in open congressional hearings.  It might be a good idea to start complying with information requests from congressional committees trying to perform the oversight responsibilities mandated to them in the Constitution.  It might have been a good idea for Mr. Mueller to avoid filling his staff with partisan hacks.

In order to command respect, these myriad alphabet agencies should work on earning it.  What a concept.

But the presser with Putin was just the conclusion of a week filled with events and presidential actions and statements that the leftist, globalist, DC establishment detests, actions that President Trump promised to take throughout the 2016 campaign that ended with his victory over the establishment’s preferred sock puppet, Hillary Clinton.  Those actions included the President pointing out the reality, in clear and blunt terms, that NATO is a long-outdated and costly organization populated mainly by deadbeat European countries who refuse to fulfill their financial obligations.

Those actions included calling out Germany for agreeing to partner with Russia – the ostensible “threat” against which NATO is supposedly there to defend – on a multi-billion dollar natural gas pipeline project.  Those actions included blunt and honest talk about the long abuse of unfair tariffs on U.S. goods by EU nations, and their desire to continue their practice.

Those actions included the President talking about U.S./Russia cooperation with our allies in Israel to ensure Iranian troops and militia in Syria are kept away from the Golan Heights.  They also included Trump’s ongoing commitment to bring our military personnel home from the Syrian hellhole once ISIS has been wiped off the face of the earth, another cooperative effort with Russia that is about 98% complete.  And finally, they included conciliatory public statements towards Putin and Russia (we can be sure he was more forceful and pointed with Putin during their private meeting) in an effort to begin establishing an actual, productive working relationship with the world’s other major nuclear power.

Again, what a concept.

Throughout his 2016 campaign, Mr. Trump proved he was a disciple of the likes of George Washington and Dwight Eisenhower, warning against the needless perpetuation of our military ventures all over the world, many of whose roots go all the way back to World War II.  I end up saying this so often in these Campaign Updates, but I’ll say this again:  None of the things President Trump said and did over this past week in Europe should have come as any surprise at all to anyone who actually has a desire to understand him.  Which of course excludes all Democrats and fake news reporters and warmongering GOP senators.

This is Donald Trump keeping his campaign promises.  He made them repeatedly and without nuance – because he’s pretty much incapable of nuance, after all – and he fully intends to carry them out, just as he has gone about carrying out all of his other campaign promises.

To a large extent, it is Trump’s hyper-focus on keeping the promises he made to the American people that makes him such a foreign, almost alien-seeming entity to the corrupt, globalist DC establishment and fake news media.  They have all become so accustomed to having politicians who say all sorts of stuff to get elected, but then come to DC and just bend to the will of the embedded deep state that they just don’t know how to react to anyone whose behavior doesn’t conform to the DC Borg’s hive mind.

Everything President Trump said and did over this past week were things he promised to do, repeatedly and clearly, throughout the 2016 campaign that got him elected.  The corrupt, globalist DC establishment is incredibly upset that it cannot contain him, and is now refocusing its sights not only on the President, but on his supporters as well.

Supporting Donald Trump was never going to be an easy thing, because he was elected to clean out the greatest den of corruption and sleaze ever created by American society.  He has made an amazing amount of progress in a very short period of time, but there is so much more that remains to be done.  The more he pushes, the harder the deep state establishment and its media minions will fight back, so this is only going to become harder still.

If you abandon him now, they win.  It’s really that simple.

That is all.

London’s Fascists and America’s Warmongers Dominated the Sunday News Cycle

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

The fascists come out into full view in Jolly Old England. – As London has suffered through its radical Islamic-driven epidemic of knife killings over the last few years, I have occasionally joked here and on Twitter (@GDBlackmon) that the next thing you know, they’ll be banning knives in England.  Over the weekend, any further joking on that subject became moot, as London’s Mayor, Sadiq Khan, took to his own Twitter feed to issue the following edict:

When free societies force their law enforcement officials to behave as if they are incredibly stupid and have no means of identifying the real threat – all in the name of political correctness, of course – the “solution” inevitably ends up being that everyone ends up being treated as a threat.

We see this in our airport “security” measures, in the name of which we regularly witness the spectacle of Homeland Security officials patting down small babies and 90 year-old great grandmothers.

We see this happening in Parkland, Florida, where the school kids are now forced to use see-through backpacks by school and law enforcement officials intent upon continuing their policies of refusing to enforce the law against student criminals.

We see this in our regular gun control debates that invariably take place in the wake of mass shootings, shootings that almost always are committed by unstable individuals with long histories of interactions with law enforcement officials.

Of course, the politically-correct goal in all of these and many other instances in our idiotic society is to force law enforcement to treat every individual as if we are all equal threats, even though those officials have all sorts of means of identifying and acting against real threats if they were just allowed by law to do so.  But because those means might offend someone, everyone must be placed at higher risk.

The reality is that political correctness, and worshiping at the altar of some fool’s notion of “diversity” at any cost leads inevitably to the rise of fascism.  You don’t have to believe me, all you have to do is spend 15 minutes Googling “college campus political correctness” and browsing through the thousands of articles documenting “safe spaces”, the shutting down of any speech that might accidentally offend someone, classes and seminars that blame every evil in the world on white males, and on and on and on.

The notion of fascism has always been portrayed by our left-wing fake news media and entertainment industry as somehow coming out of the political right.  The truth is that fascism is and always has been the inevitable outcome of political leftism.

The fascists have come out into full view in Western Europe, as leftist leaders in England, Germany, France, Sweden and elsewhere implement policies to allow Europe’s native cultures to be overwhelmed and ultimately destroyed by radical Islam.  If you think that can’t come to the United States, well, just wait until the next time we decide to put a Democrat in the White House, and see what happens.  It won’t take long at all.

Four days after President Donald Trump instructed Defense Secretary James Mattis to present him with a plan to withdraw U.S. troops from Syria, dozens of people were killed in a chemical attack on the town of Douma.  As the Administration rushed to blame Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad for the attack – and the Russians for somehow facilitating it – all the usual suspect warmongers like Lindsey Graham, Susan Collins and John McCain rushed to the nearest TV camera or Twitter feed to advocate for not just keeping the U.S. military in Syria, but going to an all-out war footing there.

Senator Graham was so excited at the prospect of sending thousands of additional U.S. military personnel into harm’s way during a series of Sunday morning TV interviews that he could barely contain his glee.  He and McCain and Collins have truly never met a Middle Eastern civil war in which they did not want to involve America’s armed forces.

It was painfully obvious that none of them – nor any of the army of talking-head warmongers in the fake news media – took a moment to reflect on the incredibly convenient timing of this chemical attack, or to assess what possible motive Assad – or especially Putin – would have to commit such an atrocity less than 96 hours after President Trump had expressed his desire to get America’s military personnel safely out of that hellhole.  They never gave any consideration to the possibility that this atrocity might have actually been committed by Syrian rebels desperate to keep the U.S. involved in the theater, given that they have been losing badly in the conflict.

But this is not just about Syria here in the U.S.  All of these people – along with the entire Democrat Party and most of the fake news media – have been aggressively pushing President Trump into a war posture with Russia since even before he took office last year, forcing the President to abandon his goal of improving relations with Putin.  They no doubt leapt with joy Sunday evening as reports of missile strikes on Syria began to come across the news wires, thinking their tireless warmongering had already resulted in action by the Trump Administration.

The U.S. military denies it had anything to do with the air strikes, even though Syrian state television initially claimed otherwise.  Russia and Syria later accused Israel of conducting the attacks, which could be the case, since Israel has carried out air strikes into Sryia whenever they perceived a threat to their own country’s security.  As if this writing, the Israeli military has had no comment, but we will probably find out who conducted the bombing, or if it indeed even took place.

But back to the point of all of this, and that is that every thinking American ought to be taking a moment today to reflect on the fact that all these warmongers – which includes the neo-conservative element in the GOP, virtually the entire Democrat Party, and almost the whole of the nation’s fake news media – have spent the last 15 months doing everything they can to push President Trump into an increasingly aggressive and openly hostile posture towards Russia.

Isn’t it time we as a society started demanding these people tell us why that is?

Just another day in warmongering America.

That is all.

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) – 4.10.2017

  • I’m old enough to remember when they actually played music.:  It seems the only way the Dixie Chicks can sell records is to send their obnoxious lead singer, Natalie Maines, out there to bash a Republican president.  During the height of the Iraq War, Ms. Maines issued her complaints about George W. Bush during the group’s concert events in Europe.  They can’t attract an audience anymore, so now Ms. Maines has resorted to social media, issuing nasty tweets to President Trump.  My goodness.
  • This is Jerry Brown, “skillfully” stealing and spending other people’s money.:  After the California legislature passed yet another massive tax increase on the state’s beleaguered residents – this time in the form of a major raise in the gasoline tax – the fake reporters at the Associated Press published a piece with the headline “California’s gas tax hike shows governor’s political skill”.  Presumably, when the AP publishes a future fake news item about all the businesses and residents who abandon the Golden State as a result of its soul-crushing tax burden, it will carry the headline “California’s mass exodus shows governor’s relocation skill”.
  • Ok, well, maybe it was two lone wolves.  Oh, wait…:  Islamic terrorists killed at least 44 Christians in two separate church bombings on Palm Sunday.  Fake reporters and fake editors all over the U.S. fake news media were left feverishly scrambling to find a way, some way, to blame it all on their cherished “lone wolf.”  Meanwhile, ISIS yet again took full credit for this latest atrocity.
  • The liberal Boogeyman speaks.:  Russia announced on Sunday that it would respond to any further U.S. military actions against the Syrian government with military action of its own.  This left fake reporters and fake editors all over the fake U.S. news media scrambling to invent a rationale to credit Russia’s statement to it’s cherished “Trump/Russia” coordination fantasy.
  • Hey…did Vlad sign off on this?:  Meanwhile, the Trump Administration put Syrian dictator Bashar Al-Assad on notice that it will take further military action should Syria again resort to the use of chemical weapons.  Contrary to the belief of the fake news media, Vladimir Putin was not consulted prior to the issuance of that notice.
  • Beware of praise coming from ghouls.:  In an appearance on Fox News on Sunday, war-mongering Senator Lindsey Graham said  “I would say this about President Trump, I’m proud of him.  He did something Obama did not do and if I’m North Korea I’m going to think differently about Trump.  He didn’t draw a red line, he just acted.”  That’s all well and good, but we should all hope that the President takes any praise coming from the Graham/McCain war hawk faction of the U.S. Senate as a reason to even more carefully review everything that he’s planning to do in the Middle East.  It’s one thing to bomb an air field in retaliation for a chemical weapons atrocity, but these guys want to send 200,000 U.S. men and women into another country’s civil war, and that is a different thing entirely.

Just another day in Red Line Enforcing America.

That is all.

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) – 4.9.2017

  • All of the City of Dallas’s 156 emergency warning sirens were hacked and activated dozens of times Friday evening, setting off near-panic among some of the city’s citizens.  Not one of the local network affiliate TV stations, whose weather people regularly interrupt prime time programming whenever three or four drops of rain start to fall, chose to break into their prime time programming to inform their viewers that there was nothing to worry about.  Indeed, the only information the public received before Saturday morning on the situation came from a Tweet from the local FBI office.  Your fake news media in action.
  • In a predictably softball interview with the fake NY Times reporter Nicholas Kristoff this week, The Most Corrupt Woman in America predictably blamed a whole bunch of other people for her loss last November.  Taking a share of the blame were our bi-polar FBI Director, James Comey; WikiLeaks; the “weaponization of information”, whatever that means; Bernie Sanders; and of course, the Democrats’ favorite boogeyman, the RUSSIANS!!!!!!!!!  She of course did not blame her incompetent campaign manager John Podesta, who basically made his email account public by falling for an amateurish phishing email.  Nor did she blame the outrageous behavior of supporting celebrities like Lena Dunham, Miley Cyrus, Samuel L, Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Alec Baldwin and Amy Schumer, who all worked very hard to alienate middle America’s blue collar workers.  And of course she did not blame herself, her own incompetence, her abject lack of appeal as a candidate, her horrible speaking style, her stupid tactical decisions, her illegal email activities, and her pathological lying.  But of course, that last part explains everything, doesn’t it?
  • Hey, remember Friday, when Swedish officials predictably announced (it’s part of the playbook now) that the Islamic terrorist who drove his truck through a crowd and murdered four people was a “lone wolf”?  Yeah, that was a lie.  They arrested another guy yesterday.  Didn’t publicize it, hoping no one will notice.  This is how law enforcement all over the free world deals with Islamic terrorism now – lies and wishful thinking.  That is a recipe for cultural suicide.
  • Former President George W. Bush wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post on Friday, appealing to President Trump to not cut funding to the African AIDS assistance program that he initiated while president.  No word why the former president felt the need to make his appeal via the fake news media, when he surely had a phone available to him.
  • Tired of winning yet?  ICE officials announced a 250% increase in arrests of illegal aliens with violent criminal records, apprehending 368 in a single week (including 153 in Texas), with a focus on “members of the violent MS-13 gang and illegals charged with sex crimes against kids.”  Progressives all over the nation were horrified by this news.  Which is why you  should never even think about becoming a progressive.
  • Meanwhile, President Trump’s summit meeting with Chinese leader Xi went extremely well, with the U.S. President and first family receiving high praise in the Chinese media.  Progressives everywhere are horrified by this news as well.

Just another day in Never Become a Progressive America.

That is all.

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) – 4.8.2017

  • Airing the UN’s dirty laundry in the light of day.  What a concept.:  Nikki Haley is turning out to be the iron lady of the Trump Administration in her role as Ambassador to the United Nations.  In the wake of President Trump’s decision to bomb a Syrian facility that was allegedly the source of the Sarin gas that was used to murder hundreds of Syrians early in the week, Russia requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council, which the U.S. currently chairs.  Bolivia, likely acting as a Russian proxy, requested the meeting be held in closed session.  Ambassador Haley immediately denied that request, stating “Any country that chooses to defend the atrocities of the Syrian regime will have to do so in full public view, for all the world to hear.”
  • Someone get this man a straight jacket!:  Meanwhile, over at MSNBC, the certifiable craziness launched into the realm of full-fledged lunacy last night.  Lawrence O’Donnell, one of the fake new network’s fake hosts, was appearing with Rachel Maddow, the network’s star fake host.  One can only assume that they had to fill the time with one another because no one else wanted to become infected with their communicable insanity.  Anyway, during the course of their ranting about the Syria bombing, O’Donnell floated his belief that the use of chemical weapons was in fact orchestrated by none other than…wait for it…wait for it…VLADIMIR PUTIN, so that his great friend, Donald Trump, could then bomb Syria and thus have his public approval ratings in the polls go up.  I swear – I SWEAR – I didn’t make that up.  You can find the video on YouTube if you don’t believe me.
  • Speaking of lunatic leftist conspiracy theories, another of the newest about President Trump – which somewhat amazingly does NOT involve the boogeyman Putin – is that the President, who has a degree from the prestigious Wharton School of Business, has created and run hundreds of businesses and somehow managed to become a billionaire in the process during his life, is “functionally illiterate” and “can barely read.”  The sole source of this latest bit nitwitery is a struggling, attention-seeking, former Saturday Night Live cast member named Taran Killam.  Here is a link to the story, which ran in the very appropriately-named Internet fake news site “BoingBoing”.  That is, of course, the sound the brain of your average progressive lunatic makes as it bounces around in their tiny, thick skull.
  • Whew!  That was hard!  Let’s go on a boondoggle!:  Mitch McConnell and his Senate majority finally got a little real work done this week, dumping the anachronistic filibuster for Supreme Court nominees and getting the incredibly qualified Neil Gorsuch confirmed to fill the vacancy on the Court.  Having almost broken a sweat in getting that done, the Senate will next take a completely undeserved two week vacation.
  • But judge, he kept overheating!:  The New York Post reports that a Delaware woman was sentenced to 40 years in prison for putting anti-freeze in her husband’s steroids, killing him in the process.  Can there be any doubt that Lawrence O’Donnell is preparing a monologue for his next show in which he blames the woman’s actions on the ongoing conspiracy between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin?
  • This guy watches too much MSNBC.:  If you wonder what motivates today’s progressives to maintain their perpetual state of outrage about literally everything, here is a quote from British author Theodore Dalrymple that captures it perfectly:  “Outrage is a substitute for religion: It convinces us that our existence has some kind of meaning or significance beyond itself, that is to say beyond the paltry flux of day-to-day existence, especially when that existence is a securely comfortable one. Therefore we go looking for things to be outraged about as anteaters look for ants. Of all emotions, outrage is not only one of the most pleasurable but also one of the most reliable.”

Just another day in Perpetual Outrage America.

That is all.

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) – 4.7.2017

  • See that red line?  It means something now.:  President Trump’s decision to bomb a Syrian airfield where chemical weapons were allegedly being manufactured with 59 Tomahawk missiles late Thursday sends a message to the Syrian government, the Iranians, the Russians and even the goofy little fat guy over in North Korea the days of bold talk and no action from the United States government ended on January 20.  The ‘red line’ which Barack Obama fecklessly failed to enforce for half a decade was crossed yet again on Monday, and this President has now enforced it, the first time that has happened.  That part is good.
  • It’s what these fellows call ‘a good start.’:  The Republican war hawks in the Senate – John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Marco Rubio – were gleeful over the President’s action, and all see it as just a first step towards a massive escalation of the U.S. presence in the Syrian civil war.  In the past, all three of these guys have advocated placing hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops on the ground  in that god-forsaken place half a world away, so that they can have their long-desired military confrontation with Vladimir Putin.  This despite the unarguable reality that the United States of America has no discernible national security interest in the outcome of the Syrian civil war.  There is no good reason why our military families should yet again begin experiencing the anguish of seeing their sons and daughters coming back from the Middle East en masse in body bags, or with missing limbs and other horrible injuries. It’s never a good thing when the warmongers are happy.
  • Somebody please tell us, who are the “good guys” in Syria?:  For five long years, Barack Obama was never able to clearly identify to the American people who exactly our country was seeking to put into power in Syria.  Who exactly are the “good guys” over there?  Does anyone know?  Are John McCain, Marco Rubio and Little Lindsey ready to clearly and unambiguously identify exactly who it is among the warring factions in that country – all of whom have committed atrocities during this conflict – that the United States wants to take responsibility for placing into power at the cost of hundreds of billions of our national treasure and no telling how many American lives?  Let’s all pray that President Trump is demanding all of his neo-con advisors to provide him with that information before he is willing to escalate the U.S. military presence in yet another Middle East civil war.  It’s an ugly thing to get involved in another country’s war when we don’t even know who our preferred winner might be.
  • Yet another Obama-era “Big Lie” is exposed.:  Back in 2014, Barack Obama and his moron Secretary of State, John Kerry, went around the world bragging that their vaunted diplomatic efforts had brought an end to the Syrian government’s chemical weapons program, and that all such weapons had been eliminated.  The fake news media praised the two most dishonest people ever to occupy high office in this country for weeks and months afterwards for their bold action.  Yeah, that was just another Obama disinformation campaign.  It’s always a good thing when the sad, ugly truth about the Obama years is exposed to the light of day.
  • Oh, yeah, about that whole Supreme Court thing…:  In other news, Mitch McConnell and the Senate Republican majority exercised the “nuclear option” and voted to eliminate the filibuster for Supreme Court nominees.  Many are sad that the unprecedented Democrat partisan filibuster of a Supreme Court nominee made that necessary, but we shouldn’t be.  The filibuster is only a useful tool of governance when the two parties are willing and able to work with one another to ultimately find common ground on issues.  That all went away when Bill Clinton was elected to the presidency, and the Democrats as a party adopted their “ends justify the means” efforts to acquire and maintain power.  It just took the Senate Republicans 25 years to figure out that had happened.  When one major party no longer even recognizes any authority or institution that does not fit its political purposes, then the filibuster is worthless.  Hopefully, the Republicans will also eliminate it for legislation sometime soon.  Its time has passed.

Just another day in “red line” enforcing America.

That is all.
