Schiff Reveals Democrats’ Real Goal: Destroy U.S. Elections

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Ol’ Bugeyes just let the cat out of the bag. – One of the main long term goals held by the Democrat Party for the past century now has been to destroy the validity of elections in the United States, as they strive to enact their longed-for Soviet-style utopia.

We have seen them ramp that effort up to epic proportions in the 21st century, as they have consistently refused to accept the validity of any Republican victory, variously blaming negative outcomes on fantasy-based “voter suppression” or interference by the Russians. The party’s leaders and their toadies in the corrupt, fake news media have spent the last four years trying to convince the American public that Vladimir Putin actually chose our president in 2016, a narrative that enabled – along with massive voter fraud efforts – the Ds to attain their House majority in 2018.

Last night, Adam Schiff took things an inevitable step forward, declaring the 2020 presidential election to be invalid in advance. Watch this:

Ok, so, something as important as choosing who the next President of the United states will be is just too important to be left to mere voting citizens. In the world of Adam Schiff and his fellow depraved Democrats, that task must now be left up to a jury of 100 senators, half of whom are too brain-addled to know where they are half the time.

While Liz Wheeler is appropriately astonished at Schiff’s audacity, we all need to understand that all Bugeyes is doing here is reciting the official position and favored narrative of the national Democrat Party, whose overarching goal has been to literally destroy the foundations of the American Republic since at least 1932. Schiff’s remarks – which will come to be the Democrat mantra leading up to the November elections – are designed to set the stage and rhetorical pretext for the massive civil unrest and rioting they plan to unleash in advance and in the wake of a second Trump victory.

The Democrats and their media toadies are normally pretty adept at hiding their real, true goals from the public. But every once in a while, they let the mask slip.

This is one of those times. Take Mr. Schiff at his word, and understand he is speaking on behalf of one of America’s two major political parties.

That is all.

Mike Lee and Rand Paul Should be Ashamed of Themselves

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Tired of all this WINNING yet? – Gosh, it’s been like four trading days since we were able to celebrate the setting of new record highs on the various stock market indexes. Oh, hey, that’s because it has been all of four trading days since that happened. But on Wednesday that happened yet again, with both the NASDAQ and S&P 500 closing at record high levels. The Dow closed slightly below its all-time record due only to weakness at Boeing after one of its planes flown by Ukrainian Airlines was shot down shortly after taking off from Tehran. The Dow’s futures, however, are pointing to a record-high opening later this morning.

WINNING, bigly.

Speaking of WINNING, when did Rand Paul and Mike Lee, Republican senators from Kentucky and Utah respectively, become such LOSERS? This question arose late Tuesday after these two emerged from a congressional briefing conducted by the Trump Administration’s military and national security team on the situation with Iran, whining about what they characterized as the “amateurish” nature of the briefing.

Watch as Senator Lee goes absurdly ballistic upon leaving the breifing:

This seems to be Lee’s main complaint: “They [the briefers] were asked repeatedly, what, if anything, would trigger the need for the Administration to come back to congress for a declaration of war or the authorization of the use of military force? At one point I think one of the briefers said something along the lines of ‘I’m sure we could think of something.’ But they struggled to identify anything….They were asked a number of hypotheticals about situations in which they might have to appropriately have to come to ask for authorization from congress. Not once did they say yes.”

Oh, ok. Senator James Lankford (R-OK) and several other Republicans present for the same briefing completely debunked Lee’s statement, but let’s deal with that in more detail in a bit.

Before we do that, listen to Sen. Paul’s complaint as aired with the despicable Wolf Blitzer at CNN:

“No specific information given to us of a specific attack, uh, generalities, stuff you read in a newspaper was given to us. I didn’t learn anything in the hearing that I hadn’t seen in a newspaper already, and none of it was overwhelming that ‘x’ was going to happen. I’m not saying that, uh – the world being rid of Soleimani is probably a good thing. But in the end, how we go about it and the ramifications of it are very important. I think it’s made it much more difficult to have engagement or any kind of diplomacy with Iran. I doubt they’ll be coming to the negotiating table anytime soon.”

This is what happens when you get libertarian ideologues pretending to be Republicans. It is frankly stunning that someone as normally savvy as Rand Paul could witness the cowardly standing down by the Iranian Mullahs that has taken place since the completely justified killing of one of the worlds most deadly Islamic terrorist leaders and be so naive as to think it makes them LESS likely to want to negotiate. He is his father’s son at the end of the day.

It is also truly despicable for Paul and Lee to complain about the Administration briefers dealing in generalities and refusing to speculate about what Lee refers to as “hypotheticals.” Oh, golly, why might that be their behavior in a room filled with seditious Democrats?

Obviously, any classified details the Administration officials might have revealed during this briefing would have ended up being aired by Blitzer or someone else at CNN before the briefing had ended. Both Senators Paul and Lee know this reality full well.

And Lee also well knows that any concession by anyone in the Administration about any single hypothetical tossed at them might require President Trump to seek congressional approval would immediately become just another Democrat/media narrative that would attempt to tie the Administration’s hands against taking any further unilateral action whatsoever as it relates to Iran.

This was despicable, shameful behavior by two ostensible Republican senators who know better.

Watch as James Lankford – who no one can claim to be some flunky for President Trump – completely debunks Lee’s claims starting at the 1:22 mark:

“Yeah, it has been very interesting. I’ve seen some of my colleagues come out and make comments like that. In fact, one of my colleagues stepped out and said the whole group was doing a briefing with us and when the questions got hard that they left and they ran off. That was absolutely, positively false. That did not occur. They weren’t running away. We started at 2:30 and we finished at 4:00 because they had meetings in the White House.”

Enough. Have a good day.

That is all.

Cocaine Mitch Has Outflanked San Fran Nan

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Never, never, ever underestimate the ability of Mitch McConnell to work the process in the Senate. – Mitch McConnell told a very disappointed group of corrupt reporters on Tuesday that he now has the 51 Republican votes he needs to move forward with the very same Senate rules for a Senate trial on Nancy Pelosi’s ridiculous articles of impeachment that were used to govern the Senate trail of Bill Clinton.

As reported by U.S. News and World Report:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he has the votes to start President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial as soon as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi releases the documents, winning support from GOP senators to postpone a decision on calling witnesses.

The announcement Tuesday was significant, enabling McConnell to bypass for now Democratic demands for new testimony as he launches the third impeachment trial in the nation’s history. It could begin this week if Pelosi sends the articles of impeachment to the Senate.

What this means is that no more than two of the three RINO Usual Suspect senators – Mitt Romney, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski – who have been targeted by the corrupt media for pressure campaigns designed to bully them into breaking party ranks have taken the bait.

As we cautioned you here at the Campaign Update the day after Christmas, you have to take media reports of senators going wobbly on this impeachment matter with a grain of salt. That was the day when the corrupt media went wild with a report that Murkowski had told an Anchorage, Alaska reporter that she was “disturbed” when she heard McConnell state that he would be working “hand in glove” with counsel for the President to determine how the Senate trial would be managed.

The press went crazy again last week, when Sen. Collins made a similar statement of “concern” about the process and indicated she was “open” to calling additional witnesses in the Senate. Well, at least one of those two ladies, and maybe both of them, have now indicated to the Senate Majority Leader that their concerns do not rise to the level of siding with a bunch of seditious Democrats who are attempting to execute a coup d’etat on U.S. soil.

You can say what you want to about these two ladies being “squishy” – which they both undeniably are on several specific issues – but it is a drastic error and completely unfair to them to equate their squishiness to being disloyal to the country, as the Democrats have become. One would think that the performance by Collins in supporting the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court would have schooled everyone on this regard forever where she is concerned.

Process-wise, what McConnell’s reaching this 51-vote threshold means is that, whenever San Fran Nan decides to finally release her sham articles of impeachment to the Senate, this is what will happen:

  • Chief Justice John Roberts will convene the Senate trial, with all 100 senators – including the four Democrats who are still presidential candidates – required to be in attendance for 6 days every week until the trial concludes;
  • The House Managers – a set of both Democrat and Republican House members – will present the case for impeachment, which will consume several days;
  • The lawyers for President Trump will then present his case, which will also likely consume several days;
  • Then and only then will the Senate hold a procedural vote to determine whether or not it will call additional witnesses;
  • More than likely, unless there is some major development related to Ukraine between now and then, the Senate will vote to dismiss the case at that time. That assumes that McConnell, the master of Senate process, can hold his 51 votes together.

All in all, assuming McConnell holds his majority together, the trial in the Senate will consume about two weeks.

Pelosi will now come under great pressure from the Democrat presidential candidates to go ahead and release the articles so that this can all play out prior to the Iowa caucuses that will take place on February 3. However, she wants to keep them in-hand until the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals rules on a pending case that would, if  it goes the Democrats’ way, give them access to the Mueller Witch Hunt grand jury material and potentially allow the House Democrats to enforce their sham subpoenas. But oral arguments were just heard in that case last Friday, and it could be weeks before any decision is rendered.

So, bottom line: Mitch McConnell has completely out-maneuvered Pelosi on this. She is now in a corner, clinging to a tactic that has failed to move public opinion against the President, and utterly failed to move any GOP senators into the pro-removal column.

Somebody go make her a Bloody Mary. She’s going to need one this morning. Maybe two.

That is all.

Democrats Disgrace Themselves in Response to the Killing of Soleimani

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Poor Chuck Schumer has the sads that he was not informed in advance of the U.S. military drone strike that took out Iranian terrorist leader Qassem Soleimani. – Well, tough. Obviously, neither Schumer, nor Nancy Pelosi nor any other Democrat could be informed in advance for the very same that Soleimani himself wasn’t told: Because they cannot be trusted to support U.S. interests anywhere in the world.

It really has come to this. If an action is taken by President Donald Trump, Democrats automatically knee-jerk to the position that it is inherently bad and coordinate with their corrupt media toadies to try to undermine it. Barack Hussein Obama – to his credit – took out hundreds of terrorists with drone strikes during his 8 years in office. During all that time, neither Schumer nor San Fran Nan nor any other leading Democrat uttered a peep of protest about the unconstitutional War Powers Act or indeed, any criticism of their dear leader.

But here’s Pelosi’s reaction today to President Trump’s authorized strike on the leading planner of Islamic terror on the face of the earth:

“The full Congress must be immediately briefed on this serious situation and on the next steps under consideration by the Administration, including the significant escalation of the deployment of additional troops to the region,” Pelosi said.

Here’s New Mexico Senator Tom Udall:

Senator Tom Udall, the author of a bipartisan amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act to prevent war with Iran without the consent of Congress, said in a statement that Mr. Trump “is bringing our nation to the brink of an illegal war with Iran without any congressional approval as required under the Constitution of the United States.”

“Such a reckless escalation of hostilities is likely a violation of Congress’ war making authority – as well as our basing agreement with Iraq – putting U.S. forces and citizens in danger and very possibly sinking us into another disastrous war in the Middle East that the American people are not asking for and do not support,” Udall said. “Congress must step in immediately to reclaim its Constitutional war powers.”

Where were they when Obama was ordering dozens of similar strikes on Iranian and ISIS and Al Qaeda targets from 2009 through 2016? Not a peep.

But it gets even better.

Watch Democrat Congressman Chris Murphy, who was briefly a candidate for the Democrat presidential nomination in 2019, do a complete 180 on the Trump response to Iran in a mere 48 hours. Here is what he tweeted after the Iran-led storming of the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad:

Image

And here is what he said this morning, after the President took his decisive action:

Image

You just cannot make these raging hypocrites up.

For the record, no president – whether a Democrat or Republican – is required to seek congressional authorization for these limited military engagements. Nothing President Trump did this week violated any federal law or constitutional provision in any way, shape or form. These disloyal, seditious Democrats are angry this morning because they were not given an advance notice so that they could attempt to deny Trump a “win” by leaking the information to their toadies at the New York Times or CNN.

This is the clear reality our nation faces today: One of our major political parties no longer maintains any loyalty to our country’s clear interests and well-being.

So, of course no Democrat leader was given advance notice of the drone strike that took out one of the most vicious leaders of Islamic terrorism on earth. Because they could not be trusted. It really is that simple.

That is all.

A Slurring, Bumbling Pelosi Demands Articles of Impeachment

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

[Note: Today’s Campaign Update will be on a delayed morning schedule from November 30 through  December 4.]

In an utterly predictable move the Democrats have been planning to take since the day after the 2016 elections, a slurring and bumbling Nancy Pelosi announced this morning that she is asking her committee Chairmen, Jabba the Nadler and Bugeyes Schiff, to go ahead and vote out their articles of impeachment that were written for them by a bunch of radical leftist Lawfare lawyers. No surprise and really no big deal.

Here’s a clip of Pelosi’s embarrassing performance, followed by a partial, verbatim transcript:

Transcript – all misspellings and grammar errors are exactly as they came out of the doddering Speaker’s mouth:

Lel us begin where our Founders began in 1776. “When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to zuh, to dizzolve the policul bonds which have connected them with another.”

With those words, our founders courageously began our deculrashun of independence. [deep breath] From an oppressive monarch. For among other grievances the King’s refusal to follow rightfully passed laws. In the course of today’s events it becomes necessary for us to address among other grievances the President’s failure to fafully execute the laws [hard stop with lips oddly pursed].

hwhen crafting thuh conssstution the founders feared the return of a moncarchy. In America. Hahhvin just fought a war for independunce they specifically feared the prospect of a king president corrupted by foreign influence. During the constitushonul convention James Madison, the architect of he constitution warned that a pressdunt migh betray his trusht to foreign powers.

Whish migh prove fatal to the Repubuc.

Another founder, Governor Morris  feared that a presdint may be bribed by a greater interest. To betray his trust. He empasized that this magistrut is uh not thuh king. The people are the king [weird grin at this thought].

They therefor cruayted a constitutional remedy to protecth gainst a dangerous [swallows something, perhaps the gerbel running around in her mouth] or a corrupt leader. [another swallo, perhaps the gerbel’s tail got stuck in her dentures].

Impeachment.

Unless the constitution contained an impeachment provision. One founder warrened. A prezdent migh s quo “spare no effort or means whatsoever to get himself [rapid eye-blinking here] re-elected. Simillly, George Mason insisted that a prezdunt who procured his appointment in the first instance through improper and corrupt acts might repeat his guilt and return to power.

[End of partial transcript]

It goes on for another three minutes, but you get the point. The Democrats are simply carrying the “Russia Collusion” fantasy they invented in mid-2016 to its final conclusion. Indeed, in response to a reporter’s question, Pelosi bluntly stated that “This isn’t about Ukraine, it’s about Russia.” It’s a despicable, depraved disgrace to the constitution and congress, but hey, it’s Nancy Pelosi and her gang of circus clowns – what else would you expect?

The best part came after San Fran Nan was finished. As she was leaving the room, Fox News reporter James Rosen asked her if she hates the President. Watch this demented reaction from the person who is, frighteningly, just two steps from the presidency:

Transcript:

I don, I don’t hate anybody [wagging her finger at the reporter like a deranged school marm screaming at her kids to get down off those monkey bars].

We don’ hate anybody, no anybody in the world. You accuse me of ma

Reporter: I did not accuse you.

You did. You did.

Rosen: I asked a question.

You did.

Rosen: Representative Collins yesterday suggested that the Democrats are doing this simply because they don’t like the guy…

I din…I had nothing to do with that I s….I think that this Prezdunt is a coward when it comes to helping our, our, our, um, kids…who are fraid…uh, um gun violence. I think he is cwuel when he dudn’t deal with uh,uh, helping the dreamers, th, of which we are very proud.

I think he is in denial about the constitution, about the uh, climate crissses. However, that’s about the election. This is about the ele..take it up in the elect…This is about the constitution of the Unit states and the facts that lead to thuh prezduntsh [dentures getting loose in her mouth now] of is oaf of office.

[Now this lifelong promoter killing babies plays the “as a Catholic” card] As a Catholic, I rusen you using the word…hate in a sentence that addresses me [says the most hateful woman in the history of the United States congress].

I don hate anyone, I was waised in a way that is full…a heart full of love…and pray for the Prezdunt. And I still pray for the Prezdunt. I pway for the Prezdunt all the time. So don mess wif me when it comes to words like that.

Fired SecNav Spencer Debases Himself in CBS Interview

Today’s Campaign Update, Part III
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Dear Mr. Spencer: Knowing when to shut up is a wonderful life skill. You should acquire it. – In an interview with CBS News released on Tuesday, fired ex-Navy Secretary Richard Spencer took several shots at President Donald Trump, and otherwise basically let the door hit him in the ass on his way out:

“I don’t think he really understands the definition of a warfighter,” Spencer said. “A warfighter is a profession of arms. And a profession of arms has standards that they have to be held to, and they hold themselves to.”

Spencer added that Trump’s intervention “erodes” trust in the U.S. military and the principles, like “good order and discipline,” on which the U.S. military stands. He told CBS News that Trump’s actions also send a dark message to U.S. troops: “That you can get away with things.”

One “standard” that any “warfighter” must learn to hold himself to is a respect for the chain of command. At the top of that chain of command sits the “Commander-in-Chief,” or as he is otherwise known, the President of the United States. That person today happens to be Donald J. Trump.

President Trump issued a pardon to Navy Seal Eddie Gallagher and ordered his rank restored after he had been wrongly convicted – in the President’s view – by a very abusive and corrupt court martial process. Spencer chose to defy that pardon by then convening a review board designed to further persecute Gallagher. He further defied the President by refusing to disband that review board after the Commander-in-Chief had ordered him to do so in a tweet last week, resorting to the utterly laughable claim that a tweet does not amount to a “formal order.”

As for Spencer’s absurd statement that the President’s pardon of Gallagher and restoration of his rank sends a “dark message” to other troops “that you can get away with things,” what exactly is Gallagher supposedly getting away with?

Remember, after that long and abusive court martial process, Gallagher was convicted of the “crime” of posing for a photo with the body of a dead terrorist. He didn’t deface the body, didn’t steal anything from it, just posed for a photo with the body of a terrorist who he was sent to the Middle East by his country to kill.

Rather than being punished for that photo, the Navy should have hung it on the wall in the lobby of the Pentagon with the caption, “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.”

The same sentiment is an appropriate description of the firing of Richard Spencer: Getting jackasses like him out of our government is why Donald Trump was elected in the first place.

That is all.

The Deep State Keeps Revealing Its Ugly Face And The Public Doesn’t Like It

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Polling support for impeachment of President Donald Trump is plummeting, and there is a clear reason why that’s the case. – Nate Silver’s 538 crew has a new report out today about the crashing support for the Democrat impeachment circus. While support remains strong among the Democrats’ demented voter base – which is always, consistently oversampled in these polls by about 10% – it is crashing and burning among independent voters, who have watched Adam Schiff’s clown-show public hearings and didn’t like what they’ve seen.

What did they see in those hearings? They saw a pack of members of America’s diplomatic corps, whining and complaining that the President of the United States was not following the dictates of foreign policy as implemented by the President’s globalist predecessors in office. They saw a bunch of hacks whose loyalties lie less with the American people than with the corruptocrats and oligarchs who control the Ukraine, and who appear to have worked against the interests of the country’s new reformist president, Volodymyr Zelensky.

Deep State skunks helping Deep State skunks, as it were.

The public was also treated to the spectacle of a classic Deep State plant at the National Security Council, a preening, self-aggrandizing anti-Trump Lt. Colonel named Alexander Vindman. Vindman spent his time at the witness table obviously prevaricating and deflecting in order to construct damaging testimony against his Commander-in-Chief. Equally as repulsive and revealing was Vindman’s demand at one point that the Committee’s ranking minority member, Devin Nunes, address him by his military rank rather than respectfully as “Mr. Vindman.”

Add to all that the clownish Ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland, a Jeb! Bush supporter who bought his ambassadorship in the grand DC Swamp tradition. Then toss in the fact that the only two witnesses who clearly weren’t Deep State hacks, Kurt Volker and Tim Morrison – who had been Vindman’s manager at the NSC – had already basically been run out of the diplomatic corps, and the picture presented to the public was one of rampant disloyalty, clownish jealousy and corruption. In other words, just like the public saw at the Department of Justice, pre-William Barr, and still sees at the FBI and in the nation’s intelligence community.

In the days since the public impeachment circus left on its long Thanksgiving holiday recess, the public has been treated to the next episode of the Deep State unmasking itself, this time at the Department of the Navy in the Eddie Gallagher affair, which the Campaign Update chronicled in two separate posts on Sunday. There we found the repulsive spectacle of senior officials at the Pentagon openly defying the clear orders of the Commander-in-Chief, and outright threatening him in the public space.

As repeatedly noted here, Barack Obama spent his 8 years in office in a continuous effort to utterly corrupt every agency, bureau, commission and committee of the federal government, and was very successful in doing so. But this weekend’s shenanigans, which culminated – at least for now – in the unceremonious firing of Navy Secretary Richard Spencer, likely represent the first time that millions of ordinary Americans learned that the corruption is so deeply integrated within our military leadership.

Sadly, the purging of the Swamp snakes at the Pentagon should not end with Spencer. The Commander of the Navy Seals, Admiral Collin Green, engaged in the same defiant behavior as Spencer, and Rear Admiral Charlie Brown, the Navy’s Chief of Information, issued the following statement in the midst of the dustup:

“The Navy follows the lawful orders of the President. We will do so in case of an order to stop the administrative review of SOC Gallagher’s professional qualification. We are aware of the President’s tweet and we are awaiting further guidance.”

The clear implication in that statement is that the President’s tweet ordering the Navy to disband its review board against Gallagher did not amount to a “lawful order.” Which is outrageous. The Commander-in-Chief just issued a pardon to Gallagher a few weeks ago, making his wishes on this matter clearly obvious to everyone.

Spencer claimed on Saturday that he did not consider a tweet to be a “formal order,” but the CinC can make his wishes known in whatever form of communication he prefers. For Spencer and the rest of the Navy brass to convene a review panel to question Gallagher’s status after the President’s pardon was rank insubordination. The pretense that the President’s tweet somehow does not constitute a lawful order borders on open sedition.

As Kurt Schlichter advocates in a great piece on all of this at Townhall.com:

Fire them all.

Then fire their bosses for not having fired them already by the time the president got around to it. And fire their bosses. Fire the whole chain of command and order them all to retire.

Open defiance of the Commander-in-Chief and the sarcastic questioning of his authority in official statements is simply an intolerable situation. The Navy needs a good purging, if for no other reason than to set a good example for the leadership of the other branches of the armed forces.

The good part of all of this is that, the more these Deep State skunks and snakes unmask themselves, the more repulsed the public is by their actions. It has been a really bad couple of weeks for the denizens of the DC Swamp.

That is all.

And Just Like That, SecNav Spencer is Fired

Today’s Campaign Update, Part III
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

As we noted at Today’s Campaign Update Sunday morning, Navy Secretary Richard Spencer and Seal Commander Collin Green were basically blackmailing President Trump. According to a Saturday report in the New York Times:

The secretary of the Navy and the admiral who leads the SEALs have threatened to resign or be fired if plans to expel a commando from the elite unit in a war crimes case are halted by President Trump, administration officials said Saturday.

The Navy is proceeding with the disciplinary plans against the commando, Chief Petty Officer Edward Gallagher, who counts Mr. Trump as one of his most vocal supporters. After reversing a demotion in recent days, the president suggested on Thursday that he would intervene again in the case, saying that the sailor should remain in the unit.

The threats by the Navy secretary, Richard V. Spencer, and the commander, Rear Adm. Collin Green, are a rare instance of pushback against Mr. Trump from members of the Defense Department. Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper and Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, scrambled to come up with a face-saving compromise this past week in the hope that Mr. Trump could be persuaded to change his mind.

Late Sunday afternoon, Defense Secretary Mark Esper “requested” the resignation of SecNav Spencer. As reported by the Washington Post:

Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper asked for the resignation of Navy Secretary Richard V. Spencer on Sunday after losing confidence in him over his handling of the case of a Navy SEAL accused of war crimes in Iraq, the Pentagon said.

Spencer’s resignation came in the wake of the controversial case of Chief Petty Officer Edward Gallagher, a Navy SEAL who was accused of war crimes on a 2017 deployment. He was acquitted of murder but convicted in July of posing with the corpse of a captive.

Esper asked for Spencer’s resignation after learning that he had privately proposed to White House officials that if they did not interfere with proceedings against Gallagher, then Spencer would ensure that Gallagher was able to retire as a Navy SEAL, with his Trident insignia.

Spencer’s private proposal to the White House — which he did not share with Esper over the course of several conversations about the matter — contradicted his public position on the Gallagher case, chief Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said in a statement.

Esper said in the statement that he was “deeply troubled by this conduct.”

“Deeply troubled,” indeed.

This was basically the only viable solution to a situation in which the brass of one of America’s armed services threatens the Commander-in-Chief. If the Times’ report about Commander Green’s behavior is also true, then he needs to go next, preferably before the day is over.

Spencer’s acknowledgement of firing letter is exactly what we should have expected – self-serving and heavily-ladled with resistance BS:

Schiff and Granholm Float Another Despicable Trial Balloon

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

What if the Democrats impeach President Trump, but then don’t take the next step? – The next step envisioned by the founders in writing the U.S. Constitution would be that the House, acting in good faith, would then quickly transmit the articles of impeachment to the Senate. There, a trial would be held in short order to determine whether or not the impeached president should be removed.

But of course, as we have seen repeatedly in recent years, today’s Democrats are not people of good faith, a future potentiality that American patriots like John Adams and Thomas Jefferson – who disagreed vehemently on political matters but always acted in the best interests of their country – simply could not imagine. Because they simply could not contemplate the possibility of a House of Representatives being populated in the majority by actively seditious individuals who care nothing about the nation’s well-being, they did not feel the need to explicitly lay out rigid times frames for every step of this sad process to take place.

Thus we now have the spectacle of Bug-eyes Schiff and former Michigan Democrat Governor Jennifer Granholm laying out a scenario on the Sunday morning talk shows in which the seditious Democrats would go ahead and vote on articles of impeachment before congress recesses for the Christmas holidays, but then hold them up indefinitely while the House Intelligence Committee under Schiff’s control continues its clown show witch hunt.

The Democrat theory of the day being that Republicans can’t begin a Senate trial until the articles have been formally transmitted to them by the House. Here is what Schiff had to say to CNN’s fake host Jake Tapper:

“We have continued to learn more information every day. And I think that is going to continue,” he said on CNN. “So, we may have to file addendums to that report. We may have other depositions and hearings to do.”

Later on the same program, after Schiff laid out his strategy for ongoing investigations as far as the eye can see, Granholm detailed the other side of this latest un-American tactic:

“It is important to consider as Democrats to slow our roll a little bit. I was glad to hear that Adam Schiff said there is other information and this is not the end of things. And people are saying before you toss it over to the Senate, why don’t you take your vote on what you’ve heard and just hold it. Seal it, like a sealed indictment until you’ve gathered what you think is necessary to convince the jury that has already made up its mind. I don’t think we’re there yet.”

Yeah, sure, just seal it like an indictment, and keep the nation in limbo for as long as ol’ Bug-eyes sees fit.

This of course is what is known in the DC Swamp as a “trial balloon.” Schiff and Granholm obviously coordinated their remarks in advance to roll this concept out and see what kind of reaction it creates in the public and among their corrupt media toadies like Fake Jake Tapper. The media reaction is certain: They will just all nod their collective hive brain and parrot the Democrat talking points like the good little organ grinder monkeys they truly are.

The public reaction, though, is less certain. Democrats are already seeing their polling numbers drop rapidly, especially among independent voters who are sick of this nonsense. Will a clear, undisguised stalling tactic like this create even more disdain from the voters?

The reality about all of this is that Schiff and Granholm both know that the Democrats have miserably failed to present any evidence that the President has committed anything remotely resembling an impeachable offense, and they are desperate to justify keeping their pathetic witch hunt alive. Being Soviet-style Marxists at heart, they are true believers in the Stalin/Beria philosophy of “show me the man, and I will find you the crime,” and they simply cannot accept that they haven’t been able to execute on that where President Trump is concerned.

This is, in other words, the rhetoric of people who know they have failed terribly.  But if you don’t believe they are depraved, demented and despicable enough to try to follow through on it, you need to play closer attention.

That is all.
