RINOs Rand Paul and Mike Lee are Part of the Problem in the DC Swamp

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Guest Contribution By Gregg Updike

If I remember correctly, several years ago Rand Paul was held up and harassed by the newly created TSA at an airport in either Nashville or Kentucky. He also had his ribs badly busted up at his home a few years back by some leftist radical wacko as a protest to something that got the left “OUTRAGED” over something Trump did to “OUTRAGE” them.

Same with Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana and a bunch or GOP congressmen getting ambushed at a softball field by a Bernie Sanders’ supporter. In the past three years, we have seen numerous elected Democrats arguing for and promoting outright violence against members of the Trump Administration, Justice Brett Kavanaugh, and other GOP/Trump supporters. Can you imagine the hue and cry and “OUTRAGE” that would happen if top Democrat bananas like a Rep. Steny Hoyer got shot or if a Sen. Corey Booker got assaulted by a right wing-nut?

I just don’t understand how any Republican – whether conservative or moderate – feels compelled to blast this president to the liberal MSM; they seem to relish the opportunity to channel their inner McCain and spew their guts, which displays their RINO tendencies. These supposedly smart and savvy politicians make these appearances on enemy-held TV and constantly get played – or maybe they want to be played – with the net effect of giving the Trump Administration a black eye, a PR hit to no positive purpose.

What did Lee or Paul gain by bitching on TV about yesterday’s intel briefing? When did Barack the Obama ever give you a brief, or listen to ANY GOP input?

Don’t these idiots realize that the MSM would do everything they could to outright defeat and destroy the Pauls and the Lees of the world if given the chance? The media’s goal is to totally destroy the Republican Party and the conservative movement. They promote the radical, violent ANTIFA and BLM groups, and denigrate and impugn the peaceful conservative TEA Party. Yet these idiots – Lee and Paul – keep lining up to give the MSM ammo to hurt Trump, and by extension, themselves; quit giving them fodder.

I don’t remember any Republican (if they ever did, it was always couched in the most tepid terms possible), and certainly no Democrat ever blasting Obama for his “War Criminal Acts” of droning actual American citizens without due process (Are there any Democrats who believe in the rule of law, or due process?), or any other liberal policy when he was president. Where was the pushback on Fast and Furious, the IRS abuse scandal, pallets of cash to Iran, Dreamer EOs etc.?

Why can’t these politicians just shut up and be thought fools rather than open their mouths and remove all doubts? Taking opportunities to gratuitously rip or denigrate Trump on TV does not serve them well especially when they represent Red States/Districts and serves no good purpose. Leave that to the Democrats, and quit giving Schumer, Pelosi, and the MSM metaphorical orgasms!.

Wise up, grow up, and support our pro-American president! Be part of the solution and quit giving aid and comfort to the DEM/MEDIA ENEMY! If you RINOS can’t see the writing on the wall, or reality, then retire and let someone with brains and guts take your place.

Better yet, the primaries will soon be upon us which signals the opening of RINO Season. To all Red States and reasonable Purple States, please primary these old war horse losers and get some conservative leaders to replace them.

That is all.

Why GOP Voters Should be Proud of Their House Members Today

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

During the lead-up to the 2016 elections, I repeatedly wrote that, as a class, Republicans in the House and Senate were the single most hated element of the DC Swamp. This was because of their repeated collective failures to live up to the promises they had made to voters in getting elected.

On the campaign trail, House and Senate Republicans sounded like Ronald Reagan, promising to go to Washington and beat up on those Democrats and President Obama, promising to get rid of the Obamacare atrocity, promising to rein in Obama’s regulatory reign of terror, promising to use the filibuster and the parliamentary process in the House to force Democrats to pass real budget bills instead of agreeing to just another continuing resolution, promising to rebuild the military and get our young men and women out of the myriad Middle East and African civil wars Presidents Bush and Obama had gotten them entangled in.

But once safely in office, all those promises and many, many more were quickly forgotten, as congressional Republicans immersed themselves in the corrupt ways of the Swamp and became utter cowards when it came to casting principled votes out of fear that they might get negative attention from the corrupt news media. But their disloyal, unprincipled and cowardly behavior brought them nothing but scorn and contempt from those they were trying to please: They became hated by the Democrats, hated by the corrupt news media, and yes, hated even by their own voters, voters who only continued voting for them because the alternative – voting for a Democrat – was too repugnant to contemplate. Better to vote for a coward than for a Marxist Alinskyite.

Ok, now that I’ve had the catharsis of getting all of that out my system, here’s why you Republican voters should be proud of your house members today: Because, to a man, and to a woman, they all did their damn jobs throughout throughout the Democrats’ Soviet-style impeachment clown show. Oh, Texas congressman Will Hurd had a shaky moment early on, but even he ended up coming around to realizing that Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi were abusing their power like no one in the nation’s capital had ever done before, and got with the program.

Hey, for once the Republicans actually had a program to get with. An aggressive, no-nonsense, call a clown a clown strategy for giving no ground to Schiff and his fraudulent, corrupt process. An aggressive, no-fear strategy of staying on-message with the corrupt Democrat media toadies and for pointedly calling them out when they lied in their reporting, which of course, happened constantly.

Devin Nunes and Doug Collins, as ranking GOP members on the House Intel and House Judiciary Committees, respectively, were stellar, scorching the earth and the hides of Schiff and Jabba the Nadler with every opening and closing statement. Both men managed their committee members and their questioning time perfectly throughout, and the results were spectacular.

Both Jim Jordan of Ohio and John Ratcliffe of Texas did double duty as members of both committees, and all conservatives should be incredibly grateful for those two men. Jordan was fantastic in capitalizing on the utter absurdities of the parade of hearsay gossips who showed up as “witnesses” before the committee, rendering them all human pin cushions by the time he was done with them. Ratcliffe, a former federal prosecutor himself, was more subdued but equally effective in consistently pinpointing the legal holes in the Democrats’ case and tying several of the witnesses up in knots of logic they could not untie.

Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz utterly and completely decimated the Democrats’ despicable Alinskyite Lawfare lawyer, Daniel Goldman, making him look like an 8 year-old being lectured in the Principal’s office for all to see on national television. It was a moment of TV beauty that deserves to be seen again here:

These guys were all members we expected to shine going in. But the hearings were filled with some new stars, too. Like Chris Stewart of Utah, one of the finest human beings serving in congress today, who time after time providing piercing and pointed questioning that brought Schiff’s array of haughty gossip witnesses crashing down to earth. Michael Turner of Ohio was another relatively unknown member who took apart several witnesses and battled fiercely with the imperious Schiff on several points of order. Louie Gohmert of Texas and Arizona’s Andy Biggs also had great moments in limited duty on the Judiciary Comittee.

And then there was Elise Stefanik, the 35 year-old who represents the 21st district of New York, who may have been the star of the show. Combative, pointed, smart, and fearless of the vicious attacks from the press that she surely knew would come, Stefanik emerged from this process as one of the true rising stars not just in the House, but in the Republican Party. Expect her to have a prominent speaking role at next year’s GOP National Convention.

Going into this impeachment farce, seasoned observers of House Republicans had every reason to be nervous, to expect them to be completely disorganized and ineffective. After all, under Boehner and Paul Ryan’s non-leadership, we had seen this story so many times before.

But they came in with a clear and highly-organized plan with two main objectives: 1) dismantle Schiff/Pelosi/Nadler’s fraudulent case, and 2) do so in a way that would hold the Trump support base together.

The fact that they were successful in achieving both objectives is a credit to the leadership of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy. His leadership made success possible. Be thankful Paul Ryan is spending his time these days trying to screw up Fox News – had he still been Minority Leader there is no telling how badly this all would have gone.

So, I know it’s hard for many of us, but be happy, Republican voters. You finally have leadership in the House of Representatives you can be proud of. If things go half as well in the Senate, Election Day 2020 will be a great day for America indeed.

That is all.

The GOPe’s Next Act: Pretending To Want Tax Reform

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Well, you know it’s a slow news day in Donald Trump’s America when the biggest story is the introduction by Republicans congress of their long-awaited tax reform bill.  The bill has been ready for at least six months, but true to their goal of not getting a damn thing done during this calendar year, the GOP congressional leadership waited until the end of September to introduce it.
  • This late introduction date – for which there really is no justification at all – naturally produced grumbling among some members of the conservative Freedom Caucus about the “aggressive time frame” left in the year to get such a massive reform of the IRS tax code done.  So, the stage is already set for the December press conference of Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell telling everyone that they just ran out of time this year, but don’t worry, they’ll promise to come back in 2018 and really, truly get the thing done.  Yeah, sure, just like Obamacare, right?
  • Through a contraction of the various tax rates and a doubling of the standard deduction, everyone gets a bit of a tax break in this plan, except for those making more than $400,000 per year, who get stuck with an actual tax surcharge.  Naturally, Democrats rushed to the microphones and Twitter and Facebook to squeal that the plan is…wait for it…wait for it…A TAX CUT FOR THE WEALTHY!  I swear I don’t make this stuff up.
  • Of course, in Democrat “logic”, such as it exists, this is true, since the Democrats consider anyone who makes more than about $100,000 per year to be “wealthy”.  Given that the goal of the plan is to get more money into the hands of those in the lower and middle class, people making between $100,000 and $400,00 do get a tax cut under the plan.  Thus, the whole “tax cut for the wealthy” rhetoric from the party of demagoguery.
  • The plan would also lower the tax rate for – gasp! – evil corporations in the hope of stimulating the economy.   Man, the Democrats haven’t even gotten started demonizing that aspect of the proposal.  Nevermind that the U.S. has by far the highest corporate tax rate of any developed country, costing our country millions of potential jobs that now simply go overseas, lowering tax rates for evil corporations presents Fauxcahontas and Chuck Schumer and Bernie Sanders with prime demagoguery opportunities, and that is not something they will meekly pass up.
  • So, it’s going to be a long fall and winter filled with hyper-partisan rancor.  There is nothing progressives hate more than a healthy, growing economy.  I’m not kidding.  If you think otherwise, you don’t understand progressives.
  • There can be no doubt the GOP proposal would indeed stimulate economic growth in a very big way.  The key stimulus-producing provision is one that would allow businesses of all kinds to deduct most capital costs during the tax year in which they are incurred.  Currently, such costs must be recovered by depreciating them over 5 to 30 years, depending on the asset that is being depreciated.
  • President Trump has often talked about wanting to pass his own economic stimulus package. Well, there is really no need for a separate stimulus bill if congress were to pass this one.  The ability to deduct capital costs would be a stimulus plan in and of itself, and unlike the Obama stimulus, which was basically wasted on expanding government employment and wasteful programs, it would stimulate real infrastructure expansion, and create millions of real, private sector jobs.
  • So of course the Democrats hate it.  They hate anything that would grow the private sector, especially at a time when the government sector is being systematically reduced by a Republican administration.
  • But the dirty little secret is that the establishment Republicans really don’t want to pass this bill, either, which is why they’ve waited so late to introduce it.  The positive side is that the President does want it, and he won’t be shy about publicly pounding on Democrats and Republicans who work to kill it.
  • Just as we have seen President Trump reveal the Democrats and their progressive voters to be perfectly fine with NFL players disrespecting the national anthem and American flag this week, in the coming weeks we will see him speak very frankly about the real reasons why the Democrats and recalcitrant Republican swamp creatures don’t want to pass a meaningful tax bill.
  • It will be a target-rich environment for verbal kill shots, and we all know how the President loves that.

Just another day in Donald Trump’s America.

That is all.

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) – 5.2.2017

  • Panicked over Democrat threats to shut down the government if they did not get each and every one of their spending priorities, congressional Republicans did what they pretty much always do and caved like a bunch of Frenchmen at the first sign of adversity, spent more than a trillion dollars of your money, and allowed Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi to hold celebratory press conferences declaring victory for their tiny minority party.  Even worse, President Donald Trump signed the atrocity, which spends your money like a drunken sailor on shore leave through the end of September, into law.  It’s a disgrace, plain and simple, and if you don’t have utter contempt for the GOP congress after this latest in a long, long line of budgetary fiascos, I don’t know what to say to you.
  • This was an enormous lost opportunity for President Trump, who should have laughed at the bill, which does not contain a single one of his stated spending priorities, and sent it back to Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell in shreds.  There is absolutely no smart political reason for Donald Trump to fear the shut down of what amounts to 14% of the federal government.  What, is he going to get some bad press if he lets the Democrats do that?  My God, bad press is the only kind of press he gets.  It’s how he got elected, for crying out loud.
  • I have no idea which of his senior people advised him to capitulate in this way, but whomever it is needs firing.  Because these people have no earthly idea why Donald Trump is president in the first place (Clue:  He got elected to SHUT DOWN THE GOVERNMENT in situations exactly like this), and is sadly succeeding in making the President forget why as well.
  • Yesterday was a really bad day for President Trump, and a truly awful day for America, because it showed the President is losing focus on why he was elected in the first place.  We’d all better hope he gets that focus back very quickly.  You expect this kind of limp-wristed nonsense from congressional Republicans, but you didn’t vote for Donald Trump so that he could sign onto it as well.
  • I’m too pissed off to write about anything else.  Sorry.  I’ll try to do better tomorrow.

Just another day in RINO congress America.

That is all.

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) – 5.1.2017

  • We here in the Fake News Media want you to think today is something noble.:  Today is May Day, which our fake news media will tell you all means it is “International Workers Day”.  What the fake news media won’t tell you is that May Day is a celebration that originated in the Soviet Union, and is actually a celebration of communism.  Which means all the progressives, social justice warriors and Bernie Sanders will be breaking the bubbly.
  • She didn’t leave the commies, the commies left her.:  Speaking of commies, even San Fran Nan Pelosi, that doddering, terminally confused leader of the congressional Democrats, is not radical enough for those celebrating Lenin and Stalin today.  Her apparent lack of being quite stupid and out of touch with anyone outside of San Francisco enough for the Party’s ruling commie faction has led Senator Bernie Sanders to recruit a commie challenger for her when she runs for re-election next year.  Man, it really is tough times to be in the Democrat “leadership” these days.
  • It’s called projection.:  Speaking of the Fake News Media, they had their annual celebration of faking the news in Washington DC on Saturday evening.  Some really bad comic who no one over 16 has ever heard of emceed the event, at one point referring to Trump supporters as “his back country hick voters.”  Meanwhile, speaker after speaker – including the Washington Posts’s Bob Woodward, who also used his speech to give out a commercial for Amazon stock – got up and felt the need to assure the audience that “we are not fake news.”  Note to those speakers:  If you feel the need to publicly claim you aren’t “fake news”, you probably are.
  • Fake, but predictable.:  In other words, the Fake News Media did exactly what President Donald Trump predicted they would do:  They gave themselves a big congratulatory hug, profanely attacked the Administration, demonstrated zero sense of self-awareness or introspection about their collective abandonment of their intended role in this society as the protector of the public interest, and proved that they are indeed, in coordination with the Democrats, the Opposition Party.  Then again, expecting these people to engage in introspection is like expecting your cat to quit shedding on your favorite pillow.  Ain’t gonna happen.
  • They reached that point around November 9, Mike.:  Meanwhile, President Trump held a rally before a huge and raucus crowd in Pennsylvania to celebrate the end of his first 100 days in office.  Vice President Mike Pence, while warming up the crowd, blamed “left-wing activists and their willing allies in the media” for “ignoring the facts and spreading that fake news. He’s driving them all a little bit crazy.”  Which just proves that our Vice President remains a master of under-statement.
  • She’s a feminist hero, after all.:  HeatStreet reports that Linda Sarsour, a pro-terrorist, pro-sharia law activist who has ironically served as a major organizer of “women’s” marches around the country, is now a protected client of the Democrat National Committee.  DNC Vice Chairman Michael Blake – a radical holdover of the Obama Administration – Tweeted this out over the weekend:  “Making it real clear. If you keep coming after [Linda Sarsour], we’re going to respond directly, consistently, and with all heart and soul.”  Thus, the very public and transparent co-option of the Democratic Party by radical Islam proceeds apace.
  • Has anyone seen Joe Biden recently?:  PJ Media reports that someone in Waynesboro, VA has been going around kidnapping cats, shaving their underbellies and then returning them home in the dead of night.  No word if this guy – or gal – was an attendee at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner, but he would have fit right in at the MSNBC table.

Just another day in fake news media, cat-shaving America.

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) – 3.11.2017

  • Don’t let the door hit you in your…well, you know the rest. – It took longer than we would have liked, but Attorney General Jeff Sessions requested the resignations of all 46 remaining Obama-era U.S. Attorneys on Friday.  There are 94 U.S. Attorneys in total, which means that 48 had already chosen to do the right thing without having to be asked.  It is not clear whether Sessions will accept all 46 resignations, assuming all the leftovers have the good grace to comply with his request, but we can be sure that the vast majority will be gone soon.  Failing to take this action upon assuming office was one of the single biggest errors in judgment George W. Bush made, as many of the Clinton holdovers did everything they could to undermine his Justice Department and administration. Good to see President Trump and the Attorney General are clear-eyed in the need to clean out this particular sector of the DC swamp.  Cool.
  • Wait…she said what??? – When it comes to the expression of rank hypocrisy in the most blatant manner possible, San Fran Nan Pelosi never disappoints.  On Friday, Ms. Pelosi, famous for telling constituents during the ObamaCare debates in 2009 that “We must pass the bill in order to see what’s in it”, sent a letter to House Speaker Paul Ryan in which she said, in part “The American people and Members have a right to know the full impact of this legislation before any vote in Committee or by the whole House.”  While that is certainly fair and valid point for the Democrats to make, they chose the most unfortunate messenger possible to make it.  But then again, what else is new where the Democrats are concerned?  I mean, who were they going to get to do it – Maxine Waters, who thinks Russia is at war with Korea?  Let’s face it, the pickings are pretty slim over there on that side of the aisle.
  • Here’s an example of why they had to go with San Fran Nan – Our favorite Commie, the loser Bernie Sanders, was quoted as saying “We have lost the White House, the U.S. House, the U.S. Senate, almost two-thirds of the governors’ chairs and close to 900 legislative seats across this country. How can anyone not conclude that the Democratic agenda and approach has been a failure?”  See, to the Democrats, dealing with issues in the most hypocritical manner possible is far preferable than having to stare that sort of reality in the face.  The rest of us should encourage them to keep up the good work.
  • We needed a study to tell us this?  Really? – Heat Street reported on Friday that “A new study by the Wesleyan Media Project has found that the 2016 presidential campaign run by Hillary Clinton is without a doubt one of the worst-run political operations in years.”  Man, we could have saved these guys a whole bunch of money on that study deal.  That’s like conducting a study to determine whether or not Russia really is at war with Korea.  If you don’t already know the answer, why would anyone take you seriously in any event?

Just another day in Trump Derangement Syndrome America.

That is all.

Sunday Morning Highlights

Democrat Senator Chris Coons getting schooled and embarrassed by Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. Disgraceful liberal liar exposed on national TV. Note to CNN, WaPo and NYTimes: This is what real, actual journalists do.

Former Obama Director of National Intel James Clapper – who committed perjury before a congressional committee a couple of years ago, but managed to keep his job in the utterly corrupt Obama Administration – this morning denied President Trump’s claim that the Obama people had wire-tapped Trump Tower in the weeks before the election.

We can take that as proof positive that President Trump’s allegation is absolutely, 100% true.

And finally, on CNN’s State of the Union show, Nancy Pelosi very predictably refused to condemn sexist remarks made by her colleagues about KellyAnne Conway.

No surprises here.

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) – 3.1.2017

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends):

– In between episodes of lecturing others for the size of their carbon footprints and making fun of the President’s hair style, a group of actors flew an eyebrow artist (yes, to all of you lecturees, there is such a thing as that) 7,500 miles from Australia to Los Angeles to do their eyebrows for the Academy Awards ceremony. That’s a 15,000 mile round trip, all to pluck some elitist brows. But hey, who hasn’t done that, after all?

– Maxine Waters, lunatic congresswoman from California, boycotted last night’s speech by President Trump before a joint session of congress. No one with functioning brain synapses cared.

– Oh, yeah, and President Trump gave a speech. Before congress. A joint session. It was one of the best such speeches ever given. Truly, strikingly, great. Hit all the right notes, talked eloquently about all the right policies, had some of the most tear-jerkingly emotional moments in it that any such speech has ever contained. Called all members of congress, of both political parties, to action, to work for the good of the American people. So naturally, the Democrats and the fake news media hated it.

– Best line in the entire speech? There were so many, it’s hard to say. I had two favorites, though:
1) (Talking about executives from Harley Davidson, who have a hard time exporting their product due to foreign tariffs) “They weren’t even asking for change. But I am.”
2) “I was not elected to represent the world. I was elected to represent America.” After 8 years being reigned over by “citizen of the world” Obama, it was so refreshing to know our current President actually understands his job.

– Many Democratic women members of congress, who have been elected to serve there in free elections, and enjoy the amazingly privileged lives of the national protected class, wore all-white dresses to the speech to express their solidarity with women suffragettes. Apparently no one told them that that fight was won a century ago. Given that they serve in congress, you would think they’d know.

– Most telling moment of the speech: When the President said, “The time for small thinking is over,” some Democrats actually hissed. Hey, when you have a tiny, closed mind, small thinking is all you got.

– In his post-speech analysis, Fox News’s Chris Wallace said that “Donald Trump truly became President tonight.” Well, no, he truly became President on January 20, but you’re just now noticing.

– The Democrat response was delivered by some septuagenarian former governor from Kentucky. They were showing off their youthful bench.

Just another day in Trump Derangement Syndrome America.

That is all.
