In Hannity Interview, Giuliani Tosses Christopher Wray Under the Bus

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

The Bruce Ohr 302 reports were finally released last night – though in still-heavily-redacted form – and they show a lot of wrongdoing by the former high muckety-muck at the DOJ. The near-unbearable Sean Hannity managed to conduct an interesting interview with Rudy Giuliani on this topic last night, during which Hannity managed to keep his gaping yaw shut long enough for the former counsel to President Donald Trump to say some interesting things about the wrongdoing not just of Ohr, but his wife Nellie, ex-FBI Director and current National Teenage Drama Queen James Comey, as well as the ongoing investigation being conducted by U.S. Attorney John Durham. He also essentially accuses current FBI Director and by extension former Attorney General Jeff Sessions of basically covering up for the corrupt Obama officials.

Here is a clip of that interview, followed by a transcript:

[Note: I’ve heavily edited portions of the interview during which Hannity felt compelled to constantly interrupt Guliani’s thoughts and remarks. But I’ve done my best to capture Guliani’s comments in full. All of the emphasis added is mine.]
Transcript:

Hannity: Bruce Ohr’s FBI transcripts are out, and they show an amazing amount of contact with Christopher Steele.

Rudy: Sean, we’ve known this for a year, right? I began investigating this a year ago when I took on his [President Trump’s] defense. You can’t believe what’s gonna come out. And this is a dramatic revelation now, but Bruce Ohr should’ve been prosecuted – and his wife, a conflict of interest – 10 months ago. But because we had a justice department that was completely warped [that hasn’t happened].

The fact is these are crimes that are shocking. These are crimes that go to the very heart of our republic. These people had a plan to stop the Republican candidate from getting elected, and then they executed a plan to remove him from office on false evidence, false testimony.

The whole thing was made up from the very beginning and they sold it to 90% of our media. It’s a tragedy.

Andrew Weisman knew it was false from the very beginning, and then he trampled over 3 or 4 people’s rights. The press didn’t care because they were going after Donald Trump. So you can just destroy people if you’re going after Donald Trump whether it’s fair or not.

This is a terrible crime. The dimensions of it you still don’t realize. There’s plenty of evidence of what happened in Ukraine, plenty of evidence of what happened in U.K., and Italy. This was a massive conspiracy to try to deprive the American people of who they had elected as President. That should never happen.

Hannity: The 302’s indicate that Ohr had lots of contacts with various people at the State Department, that they all knew that this guy was desperate to get the dirt out on Trump. And that all continued even after it was proven that he was a leaker and a liar. How high up did it go, Mr. Mayor?

Rudy: How about Jim Comey? Comey put his signature on an affidavit swearing that Steele’s information was verified. I don’t wanna presume him guilty, but at least someone should question whether he shouldn’t go to jail.

Hannity: It looks like John Durham is spending an awful lot of time in Europe.

Rudy: I know why he’s spending a lot of time in Europe. He’s spent a lot of time investigating Ukraine, Italy, U.K. and Australia (the four countries whose operatives are implicated in the Spygate scandal).

(Hannity, who can’t keep his damn mouth shut for 2 seconds, interrupts another thought Rudy was about to convey.) Did our top intel officials outsource spying on American citizens for the purpose of hurting President Donald Trump/candidate Trump?

Rudy: There is plenty of evidence that happened. Plenty of evidence, some of it documentary, some of it already recorded, and for a year, people in Europe have been trying to get this to our FBI and they have been thwarted, ignored and pushed aside.

There was a deliberate effort to cover this up. It didn’t just happen. Even during the Trump Administration there was a deliberate effort to cover this up, to protect the prior wrong-doers. That’s just really sick. There’s something really wrong with that.

And we’ve gotta get to the bottom of it because we have to get this cancer out of our justice system and out of our intelligence apparatus. These are very important things to us, to be able to do intelligence honestly, and these people have disgraced thousands of really good people who do this every day for us. It’s a shame.

That is all.

Trump Orders Barr to Light the Fuse on the Declassification Bomb

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

When real news intrudes on DC Kabuki Theater. – While most of the fake news media is focused on the back-and-forth childish insults between President Trump and San Fran Nan, actual important stuff just keeps happening. British Prime Minister Theresa May resigned overnight after making an utter disaster of Brexit planning. That’s kind of a big deal.

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, who styles himself as a journalist, was hit with 18 charges under the Espionage Act. Gosh, that probably raised the stress level of all the reporters in our fake national news media outlets who’ve spent the last three years trading sports tickets, expensive dinners and sex for classified material, don’t you think? After all, it is one thing for a journalist to “receive” national secrets like several did from Daniel Ellsberg in the famous Pentagon Papers incident, but it is quite another thing to obtain them via bribery or, as in the case of Assange, via hacking illegally into computers. Something to keep in the back of our minds as Attorney General William Barr moves forward with his investigation. More on this later, in fact.

And speaking of our real, actual, functioning Attorney General, the biggest overnight news – news that the New York Times will likely relegate to page 19 of section C – came in the form of a letter to Mr. Barr from President Trump authorizing him to start the process of declassifying documents related to surveillance of the Trump campaign by high officials in the Obama Administration during 2016.

Boom.

“Today, at the request and recommendation of the Attorney General of the United States, President Donald J. Trump directed the intelligence community to quickly and fully cooperate with the Attorney General’s investigation into surveillance activities during the 2016 Presidential election,” White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement.

The full text of the memorandum can be found here.

This memo is very interesting for several reasons:

  • It confers Barr the full authority to conduct the declassification without involvement from Mr. Trump himself. This makes sense since Trump was the ultimate target of the illegal spying, and thus would have an inherent conflict of interest. It is very telling that the President was unwilling to confer such authority on former AG Jeff Sessions, but is now willing to give it to Barr.
  • Giving Barr full authority to manage the process also makes sense given that it is being done in conjunction with the conduct of Barr’s own investigation, which is being led by Connecticut U.S. Attorney John Durham. It allows Barr and Durham the discretion to hold back any documents whose public revelation might harm their own inquiry.
  • Note all the other high officials addressed in the memorandum. Note the presence of the Secretary of …. Energy??? Hey, what is the main function of the Department of Energy? Why, it is providing security for the nation’s nuclear facilities, both in the Defense Department – whose Secretary is also addressed atop the memo – and in the nation’s power generation sector. Hey, remember that time when the Obama Administration – led by then-Sec. State Pantsuit Princess – sold 20% of our nation’s uranium reserves to the Russians, right after the Russians had poured more than $150 million into the Clinton Crime Family’s Fake Foundation? Yeah…guessing the Coughing Crook soiled her newest fashionable table cloth smock when she saw this little item.
  • Oh, yeah, look at who else is on that list – the Secretary of Treasury. Hey, remember that time when President Barack Hussein Obama his own self authorized the loading of $400 million in foreign currency onto a jumbo jet and had it flown over to Tehran to give to the Iranian Mullahs? Yeah, so do I.
  • Oh, and look at the paragraph headed “Section 1. Agency Cooperation.” Look at how it says “The Attorney General is currently conducting a review of intelligence activities relating to the campaigns in the 2016 Presidential election and certain related matters.” What might those “related matters” be? Sure is going to be interesting finding out.
  • [One more interesting note that comes from a friend] It is also “Interesting that it dropped on the Thursday night before Memorial Day weekend, when most of these swamp rats have already checked out for the long weekend, but while most Americans are still paying attention for another 12-18 hours.”  Solid point.

The timing of this memo is interesting for a number of reasons, one of which is the pending release of the report on abuse of the FISA process coming from DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz. As I told host Greg Budell in a Tuesday interview on Montgomery, Alabama’s 93.1 FM, some parts of that report most likely won’t make much sense to the public at large unless certain documents are declassified either along with the IG’s report or shortly after its release.

My bet is that the timing of this memo means that we will be seeing that IG report very soon now, probably during the first half of June.

One final point, cycling back to the discussion above about Assange and “journalists” who illegally obtain classified documents: Keep in mind that news item we saw several weeks back indicating that Horowitz has been looking into incidents in which FBI and other DOJ officials had received illegal compensation in exchange for such information.

We have waited a long, long time for this declassification and the final Horowitz report. After several false starts and disappointments, it is well past time for both to be real.

That is all.

William Barr Takes the Next Big Step

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Who is John Durham and why should you care? – Good question, and certainly not one I’d ever thought about before last night. That was when the New York Times published an article that appears to be actually true – who’d ‘a thunk it? – containing the news that Attorney General William Barr has appointed Mr. Durham, the U.S. Attorney from Connecticut, to oversee the origins of the Obama Administration’s multi-faceted spying operation targeting the Trump Campaign

Here’s an excerpt from that piece:

WASHINGTON — Attorney General William P. Barr has assigned the top federal prosecutor in Connecticut to examine the origins of the Russia investigation, according to two people familiar with the matter, a move that President Trump has long called for but that could anger law enforcement officials who insist that scrutiny of the Trump campaign was lawful.

John H. Durham, the United States attorney in Connecticut, has a history of serving as a special prosecutor investigating potential wrongdoing among national security officials, including the F.B.I.’s ties to a crime boss in Boston and accusations of C.I.A. abuses of detainees.

His inquiry is the third known investigation focused on the opening of an F.B.I. counterintelligence investigation during the 2016 presidential campaign into possible ties between Russia’s election interference and Trump associates.

The department’s inspector general, Michael E. Horowitz, is separately examining investigators’ use of wiretap applications and informants and whether any political bias against Mr. Trump influenced investigative decisions. And John W. Huber, the United States attorney in Utah, has been reviewing aspects of the Russia investigation. His findings have not been announced.

Additionally on Capitol Hill, Senator Lindsey Graham, Republican of South Carolina and chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has said he, too, intends to review aspects of law enforcement’s work in the coming months. And Republicans conducted their own inquiries when they controlled the House, including publicizing details of the F.B.I.’s wiretap use.

[End excerpt]

Lots to unpack here.

First, if you’re worried that the assignment of the investigation to Durham is just another head-fake/delaying tactic by a corrupt Justice Department, that concern is well-founded given all the previous head-fakes and delaying tactics we’ve seen over the past couple of years. After all, a full year and a half has gone by since feckless former AG Jeff Sessions said he was assigning Salt Lake City U.S. Attorney John Huber to conduct an investigation into many aspects of the Russia Collusion fantasy, and we have yet to hear boo out of him or see any real indication he’s done a damn thing in that regard.

But of course, that was Jeff Sessions and now we have William Barr in the AG job. Hopefully, that makes a difference. Barr was always going to assign this investigation to someone under his supervision – it was either that or appoint another special counsel to do it, and assigning it to a U.S. Attorney gives Barr fuller control over the direction of the process. That’s either a good or a bad thing depending entirely on what Barr’s real intentions are.

Barr has certainly given us every indication he is a real AG focused on enforcing the rule of law and bringing the real bad actors in all of this to justice, which is why we have seen all the Democrats and their media toadies in such a panic in recent weeks. Justice is the last thing those people want to see.

At any rate, any major undertaking like this requires a focal point to lead it, and Durham is Barr’s pick to do it. It is encouraging that Durham was originally brought into the Justice Department during the Reagan Administration in 1982, and was appointed to his current position by Donald Trump in 2017. It is also encouraging that he has not been a creature of the Washington, DC Swamp, serving the majority of his career in Connecticut with a four year period as the Acting U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia from 2008-12.

If you’re concerned that this will be another Huber-like year-and-a-half-long head-fake that gets us to the November, 2020 election with nothing to show for it, there is also reason for optimism that that won’t be the case. Given the flurry of self-serving media appearances we have seen from likely suspects like James Comey, James Baker, John Brennan and Sally Yates over the past couple of weeks, it appears likely that the upcoming report on FISA abuse from DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz has been making the rounds and might well contain criminal referrals.

Yeah, Horowitz took a powder on doing that in last year’s report on the FBI’s conduct of the Clinton email investigation, but that was when Sessions was AG. Hopefully, the presence of a real AG will embolden the IG’s office to do the right thing. It’s easier to confront powerful people when you know you have powerful people backing you up.

Let’s say that happens, and let’s recognize that Durham will also be armed with multiple criminal referrals from various congressional committees that have been issued to the Justice Department over the last year. Armed with the results of the multiple Horowitz investigations and all the data accumulated by the congressional investigations over the past two years, Durham should be able to move to the indictment and prosecution phase fairly rapidly if that is his real goal here.

Let’s be painfully honest: We know who the bad actors in all of this really were. The public record already accumulated is crystal clear on this. All that has been lacking to this point is a real Attorney General and a set of diligent prosecutors who were willing to act on behalf of the public interest and uphold the rule of law.

With Rod Rosenstein’s exit from DOJ, the last of the known obstructionists to justice is now gone. Well, except for FBI Director Christopher Wray, anyway. All we the people can do now is wait and pray they haven’t been replaced by a new set of obstructionists.

It won’t take long to figure that out.

That is all.

Stop Laughing: The EPA is Actually Very Serious About Capturing Cow Farts

The Afternoon Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

“We’re gonna regulate cow farts to save the world.” – This part of the outline of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s infamous “Green New Deal” (GND) provoked peals of laughter all across the country and weeks of ridicule on every social media platform. But here’s the truth: the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has spent millions of research and development dollars during the course of the 21st century in a Quixotic quest to figure out how to do exactly that.

For example, on Dec. 5, 2008, CBS News ran a report headlined “EPA’s Air Pollution Target: Flatulent Cows”. The story reports on farmers’ concerns about a newly-issued EPA report that seemed to propose a literal tax on cow farts. No kidding.

A Daily Caller report on April 11, 2014 details GOP concerns that the Obama EPA led by Gina McCarthy was also considering implementing a new tax on cow flatulence. The concern was then based on the Obama-era “Climate Action Plan” that would enact penalties on the agricultural industry unless it found ways to reduce methane emissions – which in fact far outstrip similar emissions from the natural gas industry – by 25% by the year 2020.

It isn’t just the U.S. media reporting on this smelly subject – the UK Daily Mail got into the act a few days later with a doozy of a story headlined “Now That’s Wind Power! Cows Wear BACKPACKS to Capture Their ‘Emissions’ and Become Miniature Power Stations”.

The story begins with the following opening paragraph and accompanying photo that I swear is a real thing:

“On Friday, the Obama administration stated that it would make a multi-pronged attack on cow flatulence, in an attempt to cut methane emissions. As a result, windy cows have come under renewed scrutiny by scientists, who plan to capture their harmful emissions and convert them into ‘green’ energy. But scientists in Argentina believe they have come up with a solution – cow backpacks that can be used to trap the animal’s natural gas.”

Now, you can’t see it in that photo – which is a really fortunate thing – but that poor cow actually has a hose jammed up its rear end so that this contraption can capture its frequent toots.  I swear I do not make this stuff up.

Then, in August of 2016, the Obama-era EPA issued the results of a new, very costly study that names farming and ranching as the single biggest emitter of CO2 in the United States, and estimates the ” technologically feasible abatement potential of the livestock sector is 267 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MtCO2e) in 2030″ or fully 10% of U.S. baseline emissions.

Folks, that’s a lot of cow farts the EPA was planning on eliminating.

A simple web search turns up literally hundreds of similar stories over the years, all based on reports and studies issued by the EPA. Anyone who thinks federal regulators aren’t seriously intent on regulating cow farts hasn’t been paying attention.

Indeed, the release of that August, 2016 study led to a raft of new media reporting on the subject, such as this story at Bloomberg titled “Could Less Gassy Livestock Be A Cash Cow” (‘cash cow’ – get it?) and subtitled “It’s Time to Have a Conversation About Flatulent Cows.” Despite the cleverness of the headline writers, the author of the piece is completely serious, just like the nutjobs behind the Green New Deal.

So, laugh all you want – and God knows you should want to –  at AOC and her insane Green New Deal’s plan to capture cow farts, but do so armed with the knowledge that she is deadly serious, and that the bureaucrats at your EPA are serious about it as well, having spent the last 20 years wasting millions of your taxpayer dollars studying ways to do exactly that.

No need to thank me – happy to be of service.

ObamaCare’s On-Again Off-Again Constitutionality Is Off-Again, For Now

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Huh. Guess congress did something about ObamaCare after all. –  The stain on our nation’s healthcare system that is ObamaCare was declared unconstitutional by a federal judge in Texas on Friday, and you’ll never guess why.

Remember last year, when we were all complaining that the Republican congress had failed to do anything effective to get rid of the atrocity? Remember when John McCain proudly cast the deciding vote in the dead of night, sneering in his belief that he had, in his final major act as a senator, saddled the nation with this economy killing nightmare into perpetuity?

Yeah, it turns out that McCain and everyone else might have been wrong. Judge Reed O’Connor – who everyone in our fake news media will be labeling as a “conservative judge” or a “right-wing judge” today, even though they never label any Obama appointee properly as a “Marxist judge” or “Alynskyite judge” – ruled that Obamacare was rendered unconstitutional last year when congress repealed the individual mandate tax contained within it.

This of course is the “tax” that Chief Justice John Roberts ruled really was a tax – even though Obama and every other Democrat on earth denied it was a tax, and the law itself did not call it a tax – when he twisted himself into tight little pretzels of illogic in declaring the law to be “constitutional” back in 2012. Yeah, that “tax”.

Judge O’Connor, in a suit brought by Texas and 19 other states, ruled on Friday that this “tax”  – which penalized anyone who didn’t purchase healthcare ‘insurance’ under Obamacare in order to subsidize the entire house of cards – was in fact the foundation of the entire house of cards. The states had argued that the individual mandate was “non-severable” from the remainder of the ObamaCare law, and the judge agreed.

President Trump got all excited when he heard of the decision and issued the following premature tweet:

The problem is that Judge O’Connor’s decision will be immediately appealed by the 14 states who argued in favor of ObamaCare, and thus will not become effective anytime soon, if it ever does. Justice Roberts, after all, has already demonstrated he is willing to go to any lengths of illogic to uphold the atrocity, and there are still 4 leftist clods on the court who will do or say anything to promote their own personal social views.

Still, it was fun to wake up this morning to the news that John McCain’s final sneering middle finger act to the rest of us has at least temporarily been invalidated.

It’s been a great week for goodbyes. – Man, getting rid of Jeff Flake and The Weekly Standard all in one week feels like Christmas come early! Toss Claire McCaskill into the mix, and it’s time to strike up “Joy to the World”.

Yes, friends, the execrable cretin Bill Kristol announced late Friday that the formerly conservative but now rankly liberal #NeverTrump publication, The Weekly Standard, would go out of business after it publishes its final issue on Monday. To that, I only have this to say:

Ok, I have one more thing to say. The sad part of this is that, while Kristol and fellow editor Stephen Hayes will be just fine in this deal, no doubt getting a massive severance deal and retaining their contributor agreements with various cable networks (Kristol has long been one of CNN’s favorite pet fake conservatives), the rest of the magazine’s staff is going to get royally screwed right before Christmas.

Still, the shutting of this rag is no loss to conservatism, no loss to the GOP and no loss to the country. It just is.

Wait, what? Huh? Come again? – Liberals are having such a hard damn time labeling themselves these days that it’s hard to keep up.  Take yesterday as examples:

First, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth “Little Mouth Always Running” Warren gave a speech on Friday in which she outright declared that “I am not a person of color.” Holy crap. Wasn’t it just a couple of months ago that this congenitally dishonest hack was taking DNA tests, declaring that, because one of them found that she was 1/1024th (maybe) “native American” that she WAS a “person of color?”

Make up your mind, lady.

As if that’s not confusing enough, then you have some guy named Jonathan Rauch, who is apparently himself a gay man, writing a piece at the ultra-liberal rag The Atlantic declaring that “it’s time to take the ‘LGBT’ out of ‘LGBTQ'”.  I swear I do not make this stuff up. Here is a part of Rauch’s reasoning, which I must directly quote in order to not be personally accused of being a bigot:

“As activists and theorists sought to cover every base, they recognized asexuality and intersexuality and various other identities by coining LGBTQIAA+, LGBTTIQQ2SA, and other telescoping designations. Lately LGBTQ seems to have become the norm, on the assumption that Q, for queer, can stand in for all the rest.”

and this…

“If you like, you can think of it as short for queer. Or, if you don’t like, just Q. Give it any etymology you wish. Regardless, the term would be understood to encompass sexual minorities of all stripes. When we speak of ourselves as individuals, we would use gay or lesbian or transgender or whatever applies. When we need a blanket term, we would simply call ourselves Q. As in: the Q population and Q equalityQ is simple and inclusive, and carries minimal baggage. When we speak of Q equality, we are saying that discrimination against sexual minorities—or for that matter sexual majorities—is not the American way.”

That’s right: After decades of gay rights activists telling the world that the use of the word “queer” is in fact a bigoted slur (which it is), we now have a prominent gay “journalist” advocating that everyone go back to using the letter “Q” – which he overtly admits stands for the word “queer” – to refer to anyone in the gay community.

I can’t even.

That is all.

The Week in Revew: Democrats/Media Shift Focus Away From Robert Mueller

The Campaign Update Week in Review

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

This was the week that the media/Democrat narrative mysteriously shifted away from Robert Mueller. After a couple of weeks of renewed, post-election focus on Mueller and his fake “investigation”, the media/Democrat axis of propaganda suddenly shifted to climate change, and then back to the border issue, and the 5,000-plus “migrants” from Central America overwhelming the infrastructure and public patience in Tijuana, Mexico.

This is very odd, since the Climate Scam is where the American Left always goes whenever it has run out of anything else to say. “Climate Change” is always their issue of last resort because of its nature as an ever-evolving set of theories that conveniently allow the scammer to blame literally anything that happens in our daily lives on “Climate Change”.

All those people fighting over cheap TVs at your local Wal-Mart on Black Friday? Climate Change. Riots happening in Paris, France? That’s not caused by tax protesters, it’s caused by Climate Change. Record, bitter cold across the midwest and northeast? Climate Change – never been cold up there before. Your car wouldn’t start yesterday morning? Climate Change. Brian Stelter’s disappearing hairline? Climate Change.

It’s all Climate Change all the time, and that’s why the Axis of Propaganda invariably ends up focusing on it for at least one week every year because all of their other fake narratives have come up a crapper.  Thus, this week, a week when it became increasingly obvious that Robert Mueller has a huge bag of nothing where President Trump is concerned and is continuing to systematically wrap up his 19-month witch hunt, the media and their Democrat masters fell back on their old, reliable fright tactic.

The fake news media has also been forced to report on migrant invasion happening at our Southern border after a couple of weeks of attempting to ignore a story that is hugely damaging to Democrat interests. With even the media now admitting that more than 75% of these giant “caravans” consist of military-aged males, many of whom are known violent gang members, and with President Donald Trump tweeting and talking about it each and every day, the post-election effort to simply ignore it became impossible to maintain.

There are reports this morning that several hundred of the migrant army in Tijuana will attempt to storm the border crossing there later today, so CNN will gladly report on that, hoping to get films of violence that are that fake news network’s stock in trade. Of course, CNN will only air any such video if it can spin the shots negatively against U.S. Border Patrol and military personnel who will be there to turn back the invasion.

Which is what this is.  An invasion.

Let’s go to the rest of this Week in Review:

  • It was the week that all the focus on Climate Change and the migrant invasion took preening CNN peacock Jim Acosta right out of the news cycle, and that was a glorious result. America needs more of this.
  • It was the week that Oklahoma beat West Virginia by a score of 59-56 in a college football game in which neither team’s defense apparently ever took the field of play.
  • It was the week that yet another Obama-appointed federal judge ruled that President Trump, as opposed to all other presidents in U.S. history, lacks the authority clearly given to him in the text of the U.S. Constitution.
  • It was the week that the Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, the man who twisted himself into legalistic knots in order to impose Obamacare on our populace, lied to the American public by claiming there is no difference between an “Obama judge” and the judges appointed by other presidents.  Shame, Justice Roberts, shame on you.
  • It was the week when the White House Correspondents Association ended the tradition of having a bad comedian speak at its annual Dinner, giving yet another win to Donald J. Trump.
  • It was the week that our fake news media invested tons of its air and print time once again trying to convince the American people to care about the killing of a radical Islamist blogger who used to go to dinner parties hosted by editors at the Washington Post. The effort failed. Again.
  • It was the week that President Trump correctly chose to refuse to destroy our country’s key strategic relationship with Saudi Arabia over the killing of a radical Islamist blogger who the Saudi government considered to be an enemy of the state.
  • It was the week that Broward County’s Supervisor of Elections, Brenda Snipes, having tried and failed to steal the state’s senate election for Democrat Bill Nelson and the governor’s election for Democrat Andrew Gillum, tendered her resignation in disgrace. Now, if there is still any justice left in Florida, she will be prosecuted.
  • It was the week that Democrats expressed their outrage at all the subsidies and tax breaks given by the states of New York and Virginia to secure the new Amazon regional headquarters sites, while in their next breath confirming their support for subsidies and tax breaks for solar and wind power and billionaire Elon Musk.  *sigh*
  • It was the week that British Prime Minister Theresa May took her “Brexit” deal to European Union headquarters, a deal that will essentially keep Britain under the EU’s despotic thumb. To no one’s surprise, the EU approved. Sellout is Theresa May’s middle name.
  • It was the week that French Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron, barely a week removed from denouncing Donald Trump and populism at a summit conference in Paris, saw riots break out on the streets of Paris and his personal approval rating fall to below 20%.
  • Meanwhile, in America, it was the week that President Trump saw his approval rating in the daily Rasmussen survey tick up to 51% and stay there.

There’s a message in there somewhere – wonder if the Boy Prince of Paris can see it through all the smoke rising along the Champs Elysee’?

That is all.

John Roberts Lies About Obama Judges, Trump Slaps Him Down. Happy Thanksgiving!

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Your fake news media in action. –  The fake news media has been telling us for weeks now that Jamal Khashoggi, the radical Islamist “journalist” who was murdered by the Saudis in Turkey, had a green card and was a permanent U.S. resident.

Yesterday, we found out that that was a fake story made up by our fake news media in unison in order to try to increase pressure on the Trump Administration to destroy our nation’s vital relationship with Saudi Arabia over the killing:

#EnemiesOfThePeople, defined. Our fake news media have done so many despicable things to mislead the American public over the past four years, but this episode, an overt attempt to destroy an international relationship via a coordinated invention of a legend, ranks among the worst. Yes, the killing of Khashoggi was a cowardly and loathsome act, and the Trump Administration has condemned it and sanctioned those known thus far to have been responsible for carrying it out.

On the other hand, the Saudi government has become our key Middle Eastern ally in the fight against Iran-sponsored terrorism, one of the main reasons why the frequency of acts of radical Islamic terror has fallen significantly over the past two years. That fact, combined with Saudi Arabia’s historic major influence over the price of crude oil, far outweighs the killing of a Muslim Brotherhood-supporting radical who was an enemy of the Saudi state, regardless of how it was carried out, or the fact that he went to cocktail parties with radical left-wing fake journalists in the United States.

The reality is that the governments of Saudi Arabia and Israel are the the only two entities that stand between the Middle East and utter, complete chaos today. President Trump and his administration are right to resist politically-motivated calls from our fake news media, Democrats and some Republicans to destroy our relationship with one of those countries over the killing of a non-U.S. citizen/resident that no American outside of Washington, D.C. or Manhattan cares about.

Ocasio Cortez Watch:

John Roberts is consciously lying about Obama Judges, and it is pathetic.:

I was going to respond to that, but saw that President Trump already did…

…and…

That was yesterday afternoon.  The President got up this morning, and decided he wasn’t finished with our dishonest Chief Justice, and added more…

…and…

Brutal.  And 100% correct.

Happy Thanksgiving from Today’s Campaign Update! – They say you’re supposed to think of 10 things you are thankful for each Thanksgiving, which seems like a pretty solid idea, so I try to do that every year. I have lived a very lucky life from the day I was born, and have so many things for which to be thankful that I could list 100 here and still have many more to go.  But here is my own Top Ten…

  • My wonderful wife who has somehow tolerated being with me for 37 beautiful years;
  • The best daughter and best son on earth, and their spouses who we love as our own children;
  • Two beautiful and hilarious granddaughters;
  • Football;
  • Having lived on this earth for 62 years;
  • Having had a career in which I accomplished more than I had any right to expect when it began;
  • Having been born in the United States of America in the 20th century, the most fortunate circumstance in human history;
  • Having lived my entire life in Texas;
  • The music of Sinatra, Chicago and George Strait; and
  • My badass cat Max.

That is all.

Tired of all this Winning yet? Yeah, me neither.

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Tired of all this Winning yet? Part I  – President Donald got a yuuuuge win out of the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday as the Court’s conservative majority – you know, the five justices who have actually bothered to read the U.S. Constitution – upheld his travel ban impacting the citizens of seven terrorist-supporting nations.  The 5-4 nature of the decision simply reaffirms the fact that the court’s leftists faction is now nothing more than an adjunct of the radical leftwing’s “resistance,” now willing to ignore decades of clear and unambiguous jurisprudence in their quest to transform the nation.  My goodness.

In the wake of the decision, until recently the DNC’s Vice Chairman, Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison, issued this idiotically dishonest tweet:

For the record, 92% of the world’s Muslim population is completely unaffected by the travel ban.  But, as we all know, Democrats always – ALWAYS – have to lie.  It’s apparently in their genes.

Tired of all this Winning yet?  Part II – The Supreme Court also handed the “resistance” another kick to the gut in another 5-4 decision, this one overturning a California law that requires church-run pregnancy counseling centers to provide abortion information to their patients.  Again, the Court’s four leftists confirmed that they no longer value the freedoms of religion and speech contained in the Bill of Rights.

The preservation by a bare 5-4 majority of these key rights and presidential powers so clearly spelled out in our Constitution and Bill of Rights demonstrates conclusively how much gratitude we all owe to Mitch McConnell and the GOP majority in the U.S. Senate.  Regardless of how we feel about these mostly-RINO, establishment Republicans who disappoint us so frequently, their refusal to confirm Obama nominee Merrick Garland to replace the deceased Antonin Scalia in 2016 was a crucial moment in our nation’s history.  So thanks, all you squishy senators – you did something truly important.  Now you can all go back to disappointing us.

Joe Crowley.  Remember that name.  Who’s Joe Crowley, you ask?  Why, he’s currently the Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus in the U.S. congress, where he has served for many years as the U.S. Representative for New York’s 7th congressional district, which takes in much of Brooklyn, Bronx and Queens.  But he won’t be playing those roles much longer.

In fact, he will no longer be the congressman from the 7th district in New York after December 31, because, in a stunning demonstration of just how far to the radical left the Democrat Party is trending, this 20-year incumbent, very powerful congressman got his butt kicked by 18 percent of the vote by a 28 year-old socialist named Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.  How big of an “upset” is this?  Consider that Crowley was deemed by those who compile what we know as the “conventional wisdom” to be so safe that he had not even drawn a primary challenger in this previous 7 re-election bids.

Crowley had out-raised Ocasio-Cortez by a 10 to 1 margin in the race.  He was considered such a powerhouse within the Democrats’ demented caucus in the House that many thought he’d be the guy to replace Nancy Pelosi if she ever decides to give up her grasp on power as Speaker.  This was a guy who was going places.

Until last night.  This morning, he’s just planning on what he’s going to do after he goes home.  No one should be happy about this – as detestable as Crowley no doubt is, the juvenile Ocasio-Cortez, who based her campaign on the elimination of ICE and creation of fully-open borders, is exponentially worse.  But hey, that’s just where the entire Democrat Party is moving today.

Meanwhile, while our country’s fake news media is too busy working with their Democrat wards to dummy up another fake scandal to pay attention to anything else, there’s a revolution brewing over in Iran.  The streets of Tehran have been filled all week with growing crowds of demonstrators protesting the failing economic conditions that have been brought about by the brutal Islamic regime that has run the country for the past 40 years.

While we have seen similar uprisings in Iran come and go over the past four decades, with the Mullahs always holding onto power, this one seems different, as explained by NPR:

“Anti-government demonstrations driven by economic troubles erupted across the country last December and January. But they didn’t gain traction in Tehran. This week’s demonstrations in the capital were the biggest in years, multiple media outlets have reported.

The prevention of exactly this sort of economic uprising was the main reason why the Mullahs were so desperate to get the incredibly one-sided “deal” they received from Barack Obama and John Kerry.  That of course was Obama’s and Kerry’s motivation as well, because they’re both so dimwitted they actually bought into the idiotic notion that Iran could become a stabilizing influence in the Middle East.

Of course, the exact opposite goal is the reason why President Trump recently cancelled U.S. participation in the Iran deal:  He knows that the re-implementation of economic sanctions, which is already underway, is likely to hasten the day when an uprising like the one taking place right now ends up deposing the Mullahs for good.  Were it not for Obama and Kerry and their injection of hundreds of billions of dollars into the Iranian economy, that day might well have already come.

That’s the truth.  That’s the real Obama legacy for the Middle East.

Just another day in all this #Winning never gets old America.

That is all.

The GOPe’s Next Act: Pretending To Want Tax Reform

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

  • Well, you know it’s a slow news day in Donald Trump’s America when the biggest story is the introduction by Republicans congress of their long-awaited tax reform bill.  The bill has been ready for at least six months, but true to their goal of not getting a damn thing done during this calendar year, the GOP congressional leadership waited until the end of September to introduce it.
  • This late introduction date – for which there really is no justification at all – naturally produced grumbling among some members of the conservative Freedom Caucus about the “aggressive time frame” left in the year to get such a massive reform of the IRS tax code done.  So, the stage is already set for the December press conference of Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell telling everyone that they just ran out of time this year, but don’t worry, they’ll promise to come back in 2018 and really, truly get the thing done.  Yeah, sure, just like Obamacare, right?
  • Through a contraction of the various tax rates and a doubling of the standard deduction, everyone gets a bit of a tax break in this plan, except for those making more than $400,000 per year, who get stuck with an actual tax surcharge.  Naturally, Democrats rushed to the microphones and Twitter and Facebook to squeal that the plan is…wait for it…wait for it…A TAX CUT FOR THE WEALTHY!  I swear I don’t make this stuff up.
  • Of course, in Democrat “logic”, such as it exists, this is true, since the Democrats consider anyone who makes more than about $100,000 per year to be “wealthy”.  Given that the goal of the plan is to get more money into the hands of those in the lower and middle class, people making between $100,000 and $400,00 do get a tax cut under the plan.  Thus, the whole “tax cut for the wealthy” rhetoric from the party of demagoguery.
  • The plan would also lower the tax rate for – gasp! – evil corporations in the hope of stimulating the economy.   Man, the Democrats haven’t even gotten started demonizing that aspect of the proposal.  Nevermind that the U.S. has by far the highest corporate tax rate of any developed country, costing our country millions of potential jobs that now simply go overseas, lowering tax rates for evil corporations presents Fauxcahontas and Chuck Schumer and Bernie Sanders with prime demagoguery opportunities, and that is not something they will meekly pass up.
  • So, it’s going to be a long fall and winter filled with hyper-partisan rancor.  There is nothing progressives hate more than a healthy, growing economy.  I’m not kidding.  If you think otherwise, you don’t understand progressives.
  • There can be no doubt the GOP proposal would indeed stimulate economic growth in a very big way.  The key stimulus-producing provision is one that would allow businesses of all kinds to deduct most capital costs during the tax year in which they are incurred.  Currently, such costs must be recovered by depreciating them over 5 to 30 years, depending on the asset that is being depreciated.
  • President Trump has often talked about wanting to pass his own economic stimulus package. Well, there is really no need for a separate stimulus bill if congress were to pass this one.  The ability to deduct capital costs would be a stimulus plan in and of itself, and unlike the Obama stimulus, which was basically wasted on expanding government employment and wasteful programs, it would stimulate real infrastructure expansion, and create millions of real, private sector jobs.
  • So of course the Democrats hate it.  They hate anything that would grow the private sector, especially at a time when the government sector is being systematically reduced by a Republican administration.
  • But the dirty little secret is that the establishment Republicans really don’t want to pass this bill, either, which is why they’ve waited so late to introduce it.  The positive side is that the President does want it, and he won’t be shy about publicly pounding on Democrats and Republicans who work to kill it.
  • Just as we have seen President Trump reveal the Democrats and their progressive voters to be perfectly fine with NFL players disrespecting the national anthem and American flag this week, in the coming weeks we will see him speak very frankly about the real reasons why the Democrats and recalcitrant Republican swamp creatures don’t want to pass a meaningful tax bill.
  • It will be a target-rich environment for verbal kill shots, and we all know how the President loves that.

Just another day in Donald Trump’s America.

That is all.
