Donald Trump Just Had One of the Best Weeks in Presidential History

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

This truly has been a week to remember, and not just because of impeachment.  – In fact, it could be argued that the idiotic ending to the Democrats’ impeachment sham turns out to only modestly important in the context of the other major  events that happened over the last seven days. The impeachment sham notwithstanding, President Trump just had what may well have been the greatest week of his entire presidency, and that is a truly great thing for America.

Let’s take a look at this truly momentous week:

Markets – This country has seldom seen a run in the stock markets like one seen over the past five trading days. The NASDAQ set a new record high on every one of those days, ending the week with a record closing streak of 8 consecutive trading days. The Dow and S&P 500 set new records on all but one day during the week. This is WINNING on such a grand scale that even the recession promoters in the corrupt mainstream news media have given up.

USMCA – San Fran Nan Pelosi was so embarrassed by her absurd articles of impeachment that, after sitting on the President’s signature trade deal for 8 months, she finally decided to bring it to a vote on the day after the impeachment vote took place. She and her pathetic, demented fellow Democrats desperately tried taking credit for this extremely favorable trade deal with our country’s two largest trading partners, but nobody was buying it. The Senate also approved the deal late in the week.

China Phase 1 trade deal – The President also reached a deal with America’s third-largest trading partner during the same week USMCA passed in congress. Again, this deal is extremely favorable to the United States and its farmers and consumers, and will, along with USMCA, set the U.S. economy up to have another year of roaring growth in 2020.

Durham closing in on Brennan – The week was filled with clear signals that the investigation led by U.S. Attorney John Durham and sanctioned by AG William Barr is real and closing in on the members of the Coup Cabal. The first signal came in a Thursday New York Times Deep State cover piece detailing the fact that Durham is now taking a very close look at ex-CIA Director/communist/radical Islam sympathizer John Brennan. Durham is seeking all of Brennan’s written, digital and phone records from his time at CIA, with a special focus on his 2016 communications with former FBI Director and current National Teenage Drama Queen Jim Comey. Oh, my.

Barr pillories Comey in Fox News interview – In an interview with Martha MacCallum on Fox News later Thursday evening, AG Barr sent another clear signal that stuff is getting real with his and Durham’s investigation, slamming Comey for his blatant prevarications about his role in fixing the 2016 election for the Pantsuit Princess and later effort to frame President Trump. If you haven’t watched Barr’s interview, you should. It will definitely make you feel better about things.

Rogers cooperating with Durham – Friday evening brought the delightful news that former NSA Director and national hero Admiral Mike Rogers has been cooperating with the Barr/Durham investigation for months now, according to a report in The Intercept. It was Adm. Rogers who, in mid-2016, discovered thousands of Obama-era violations of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), Section 702(17) surveillance process, and the hundreds of illegal unmaskings of U.S. citizens carried out by high Obama officials like Susan Rice and U.N. Ambassador Samantha Power. It was also Adm. Rogers who discovered that Obama had bugged Trump Tower during the post-election transition and immediately warned then-President-elect Trump, after which the Transition team moved to a Trump-owned golf resort in New Jersey. The cooperation of Rogers proves the seriousness of the Barr/Durham effort.

Brexit Vote in Parliament – It received precious little notice in the corrupt, globalist U.S. media, but Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Brexit plan received overwhelming approval in the new, post-election British Parliament. The House of Commons passed the Withdrawal Agreement Bill in a 358 to 234 vote. This sets the stage for Britain to formally withdraw from the globalist European Union by January 31, which in turn sets the stage for President Trump and PM Johnson to execute a massive trade deal between the two giant trading partners.

Impeachment – The President even managed to turn the Democrats’ sham impeachment vote into a net positive for him, holding another massive rally in Battle Creek, MI that began while the absurd vote was being counted. New polls issued simultaneous to and immediately after the vote showed public sentiment moving “massively in the president’s favor” according even to CNN’s own polling analysts. San Fran Nan’s stupid tactic of refusing to communicate the articles of impeachment over to the Senate will only add to the public’s growing disgust with her and her depraved, demented and despicable caucus in the House.

Judges, judges, and more judges – While San Fran Nan was counting her votes in the House, Cocaine Mitch was doing what he does best: Confirming 13 more Trump-appointed judges to the federal bench. This brings the total number of Trump judges added to the federal judiciary in just three years to a whopping 187. That, folks, is WINNING for the long-term.

Turning Point USA – President Trump capped off what was possibly the greatest single week of his presidency with a speech at the meeting of the group Turning Point USA. For those unfamiliar with it, Turning Point USA is a political action group organized by and for the Millennial generation. Conventional “wisdom” tells us that President Trump has a hard time connecting with the younger voting age public.

Take a look at he reception the President received from this group Saturday evening and judge for yourselves:

Any questions?

That is all.

Watch McConnell’s Speech Lambasting Pelosi (Transcript Included)

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Mitch McConnell proves again that he is really with the Trump program on this impeachment sham. – The Senate Majority Leader this morning delivered what can only be described as an historic speech in the well of the Senate in response to Nancy Pelosi’s tactic of refusing to deliver her sham articles of impeachment to the Senate as required by her chamber’s own rules.

Everyone should watch and/or read this speech. It is brilliantly done. We here at the Campaign Update dutifully provide our loyal audience the opportunity to do both. First, a clip of the speech followed by a full transcript:

Here’s the full transcript:

Last night House Democrats finally did what they decided to do long ago: They voted to impeach President Trump.

Over the last 12 weeks, House Democrats have conducted the most rushed, least thorough, and most unfair impeachment inquiry in modern history.

Now their slapdash process has concluded in the first purely partisan presidential impeachment since the wake of the Civil War. The opposition to impeachment was bipartisan. Only one part of one faction wanted this outcome.

The House’s conduct risks deeply damaging the institutions of American government. This particular House of Representatives has let its partisan rage at this particular President create a toxic new precedent that will echo into the future.

That’s what I want to discuss now: The historic degree to which House Democrats have failed to do their duty — and what it will mean for the Senate to do ours.

Let’s start at the beginning. Let’s start with the fact that Washington Democrats made up their minds to impeach President Trump since before he was even inaugurated

Here’s a reporter in April 2016. Quote, “Donald Trump isn’t even the Republican nominee yet… [but] ‘Impeachment’ is already on the lips of pundits, newspaper editorials, constitutional scholars, and even a few members of Congress.”

On Inauguration Day 2017, this headline in the Washington Post: “The campaign to impeach President Trump has begun.” That was day one.

In April 2017, three months into the presidency, a senior House Democrat said “I’m going to fight every day until he’s impeached.” That was three months in.

In December 2017, two years ago, Congressman Jerry Nadler was openly campaigning to be ranking member on House Judiciary specifically because he was an expert on impeachment.

This week wasn’t even the first time House Democrats have introduced articles of impeachment. It was the seventh time.

They started less than six months after the president was sworn in.

They tried to impeach President Trump for being impolite to the press… For being mean to professional athletes… For changing President Obama’s policy on transgender people in the military.

All of these things were “high crimes and misdemeanors” according to Democrats.

This wasn’t just a few people. Scores of Democrats voted to move forward with impeachment on three of those prior occasions.

So let’s be clear. The House’s vote yesterday was not some neutral judgment that Democrats came to reluctantly. It was the pre-determined end of a partisan crusade that began before President Trump was even nominated, let alone sworn in.

For the very first time in modern history we have seen a political faction in Congress promise from the moment a presidential election ended that they would find some way to overturn it.

A few months ago, Democrats’ three-year-long impeachment in search of articles found its way to the subject of Ukraine. And House Democrats embarked on the most rushed, least thorough, and most unfair impeachment inquiry in modern history.

Chairman Schiff’s inquiry was poisoned by partisanship from the outset. Its procedures and parameters were unfair in unprecedented ways.

Democrats tried to make Chairman Schiff into a de facto Special Prosecutor, notwithstanding the fact that he is a partisan member of Congress who’d already engaged in strange and biased behavior.

He scrapped precedent to cut the Republican minority out of the process. He denied President Trump the same sorts of procedural rights that Houses of both parties had provided to past presidents of both parties.

President Trump’s counsel could not participate in Chairman Schiff’s hearings, present evidence, or cross-examine witnesses.

The House Judiciary Committee’s crack at this was even more ahistorical. It was like the Speaker called up Chairman Nadler and ordered one impeachment, rush delivery please.

That Committee found no facts of its own and did nothing to verify the Schiff report. Their only witnesses were liberal law professors and congressional staffers.

There’s a reason the impeachment inquiry that led to President Nixon’s resignation required about 14 months of hearings. 14 months. In addition to a special prosecutor’s investigation.

With President Clinton, the independent counsel’s inquiry had been underway for years before the House Judiciary Committee dug in. Mountains of evidence. Mountains of testimony from firsthand fact witnesses. Serious legal battles to get what was necessary.

This time around, House Democrats skipped all of that and spent just 12 weeks.

More than a year of hearings for Nixon… multiple years of investigation for Clinton… and they’ve impeached President Trump in 12 weeks.

So let’s talk about what the House actually produced in those 12 weeks.

House Democrats’ rushed and rigged inquiry yielded two articles of impeachment. They are fundamentally unlike any articles that any prior House of Representatives has ever passed.

The first article concerns the core events which House Democrats claim are impeachable — the timing of aid to Ukraine.

But it does not even purport to allege any actual crime. Instead, they deploy this vague phrase, “abuse of power,” to impugn the president’s actions in a general, indeterminate way.

Speaker Pelosi’s House just gave into a temptation that every other House in history had managed to resist: They impeached a president whom they do not even allege has committed an actual crime known to our laws. They impeached simply because they disagree with a presidential act and question the motive behind it.

Look at history. The Andrew Johnson impeachment revolved around a clear violation of a criminal statute, albeit an unconstitutional one. Nixon had obstruction of justice — a felony under our laws. Clinton had perjury — also a felony.

Now, the Constitution does not say the House can impeach only those presidents who violate a law.

But history matters. Precedent matters. And there were important reasons why every previous House of Representatives in American history restrained itself from crossing this Rubicon.

The framers of our Constitution very specifically discussed whether the House should be able to impeach presidents just for “maladministration”— in other words, because the House simply thought the president had bad judgment or was doing a bad job.

The written records of the founders’ debates show they specifically rejected this. They realized it would create total dysfunction to set the bar for impeachment that low.

James Madison himself explained that allowing impeachment on that basis would mean the President serves at the pleasure of the Congress instead of the pleasure of the American people.

It would make the President a creature of Congress, not the head of a separate and equal branch. So there were powerful reasons why Congress after Congress for 230 years required presidential impeachments to revolve around clear, recognizable crimes, even though that was not a strict limitation.

Powerful reasons why, for 230 years, no House opened the Pandora’s box of subjective, political impeachments.

That 230-year tradition died last night.

Now, House Democrats have tried to say they had to impeach President Trump on this historically thin and subjective basis because the White House challenged their requests for more witnesses.

And that brings us to the second article of impeachment.

The House titled this one “obstruction of Congress.” What it really does is impeach the president for asserting presidential privilege.

The concept of executive privilege is another two-century-old constitutional tradition. Presidents starting with George Washington have invoked it. Federal courts have repeatedly affirmed it as a legitimate constitutional power.

House Democrats requested extraordinary amounts of sensitive information from President Trump’s White House — exactly the kinds of things over which presidents of both parties have asserted privilege in the past.

Predictably, and appropriately, President Trump did not simply roll over. He defended the constitutional authority of his office.

It is not a constitutional crisis for a House to want more information than a president wants to give up. It is a routine occurrence. The separation of powers is messy by design.

Here’s what should happen next: Either the President and Congress negotiate a settlement, or the third branch of government, the judiciary, addresses the dispute between the other two.

The Nixon impeachment featured disagreements over presidential privilege — so they went to the courts. The Clinton impeachment featured disagreements over presidential privilege — so they went to the courts.

This takes time. It’s inconvenient. That’s actually the point. Due process is not meant to maximize the convenience of the prosecutor. It is meant to protect the accused.

But this time was different. Remember: 14 months of hearings for Richard Nixon… years of investigation for Bill Clinton… but 12 weeks for President Trump.

Democrats didn’t have to rush this. But they chose to stick to their political timetable at the expense of pursuing more evidence through proper legal channels.

Nobody made Chairman Schiff do this. He chose to.

The Tuesday before last, on live television, Adam Schiff explained to the entire country that if House Democrats had let the justice system follow its normal course, they might not have gotten to impeach the president in time for the election!

In Nixon, the courts were allowed to do their work. In Clinton, the courts were allowed to do their work. Only these House Democrats decided due process is too much work and they’d rather impeach with no proof.

And, they tried to cover for their own partisan impatience by pretending that the routine occurrence of a president exerting constitutional privilege is itself a second impeachable offense.

The following is something that Adam Schiff literally said in early October. Here’s what he said:

Any action… that forces us to litigate, or have to consider litigation, will be considered further evidence of obstruction of justice.”

Here is what the Chairman effectively said, and what one of his committee members restated just this week: If the President asserts his constitutional rights, it’s that much more evidence he is guilty.

That kind of bullying is antithetical to American justice.

So those are House Democrats’ two articles of impeachment. That’s all their rushed and rigged inquiry could generate:

An act that the House does not even allege is criminal; and a nonsensical claim that exercising a legitimate presidential power is somehow an impeachable offense.

This is by far the thinnest basis for any House-passed presidential impeachment in American history. The thinnest and the weakest — and nothing else comes even close.

And candidly, I don’t think I am the only person around here who realizes this. Even before the House voted yesterday, Democrats had already started to signal uneasiness with its end product.

Before the articles even passed, the Senate Democratic Leader went on television to demand that this body re-do House Democrats’ homework for them. That the Senate should supplement Chairman Schiff’s sloppy work so it is more persuasive than Chairman Schiff himself bothered to make it.

Of course, every such demand simply confirms that House Democrats have rushed forward with a case that is much too weak.

Back in June, Speaker Pelosi promised the House would, quote, “build an ironclad case.” Never mind that she was basically promising impeachment months before the Ukraine events, but that’s a separate matter.

She promised “an ironclad case.”

And in March, Speaker Pelosi said this: “Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country.” End quote.

By the Speaker’s own standards, she has failed the country. This case is not compelling, not overwhelming, and as a result, not bipartisan. This failure was made clear to everyone earlier this week, when Senator Schumer began searching for ways the Senate could step out of our proper role and try to fix House Democrats’ failures for them.

And it was made even more clear last night, when Speaker Pelosi suggested that House Democrats may be too afraid to even transmit their work product to the Senate.

The prosecutors are getting cold feet in front of the entire country and second-guessing whether they even want to go to trial.

They said impeachment was so urgent that it could not even wait for due process but now they’re content to sit on their hands. It is comical.

Democrats’ own actions concede that their allegations are unproven.

But the articles aren’t just unproven. They’re also constitutionally incoherent. Frankly, if either of these articles is blessed by the Senate, we could easily see the impeachment of every future president of either party.

Let me say that again: If the Senate blesses this historically low bar, we will invite the impeachment of every future president.

The House Democrats’ allegations, as presented, are incompatible with our constitutional order. They are unlike anything that has ever been seen in 230 years of this Republic.

House Democrats want to create new rules for this president because they feel uniquely enraged. But long after the partisan fever of this moment has broken, the institutional damage will remain.

I’ve described the threat to the presidency. But this also imperils the Senate itself.

The House has created an unfair, unfinished product that looks nothing like any impeachment inquiry in American history. And if the Speaker ever gets her house in order, that mess will be dumped on the Senate’s lap.

If the Senate blesses this slapdash impeachment… if we say that from now on, this is enough… then we will invite an endless parade of impeachment trials.

Future Houses of either party will feel free to toss up a “jump ball” every time they feel angry. Free to swamp the Senate with trial after trial, no matter how baseless the charges.

We would be giving future Houses of either party unbelievable new power to paralyze the Senate at their whim.

More thin arguments. More incomplete evidence. More partisan impeachments.

In fact, this same House of Representatives has already indicated that they themselves may not be done impeaching!

The House Judiciary Committee told a federal court this week that it will continue its impeachment investigation even after voting on these articles. And multiple Democratic members have already called publicly for more.

If the Senate blesses this, if the nation accepts it, presidential impeachments may cease being once-in-a-generation events and become a constant part of the political background noise.

This extraordinary tool of last resort may become just another part of the arms race of polarization.

Real statesmen would have recognized, no matter their view of this president, that trying to remove him on this thin and partisan basis could unsettle the foundations of our Republic.

Real statesmen would have recognized, no matter how much partisan animosity might be coursing through their veins, that cheapening the impeachment process was not the answer.

Historians will regard this as a great irony of this era: That so many who professed such concern for our norms and traditions themselves proved willing to trample our constitutional order to get their way.

It is long past time for Washington D.C. to get a little perspective.

President Trump is not the first president with a populist streak…Not the first to make entrenched elites uncomfortable. He’s certainly not the first president to speak bluntly… to mistrust the administrative state… or to rankle unelected bureaucrats.

And Heaven knows he is not our first president to assert the constitutional privileges of his office rather than roll over when Congress demands unlimited sensitive information.

None of these things is unprecedented.

I’ll tell you what would be unprecedented. It will be an unprecedented constitutional crisis if the Senate hands the House of Representatives a new, partisan “vote of no confidence” that the founders intentionally withheld, destroying the independence of the presidency.

It will be unprecedented if we agree that any future House that dislikes any future president can rush through an unfair inquiry, skip the legal system, and paralyze the Senate with a trial. The House could do that at will under this precedent.

It will be unprecedented if the Senate says secondhand and thirdhand testimony from unelected civil servants is enough to overturn the people’s vote.

It will be an unprecedented constitutional crisis if the Senate agrees to set the bar this low — forever.

It is clear what this moment requires. It requires the Senate to fulfill our founding purpose.

The framers built the Senate to provide stability. To take the long view for our Republic. To safeguard institutions from the momentary hysteria that sometimes consumes our politics. To keep partisan passions from boiling over.

The Senate exists for moments like this.

That’s why this body has the ultimate say in impeachments.

The framers knew the House would be too vulnerable to transient passions and violent factionalism. They needed a body that could consider legal questions about what has been proven and political questions about what the common good of our nation requires.

Hamilton said explicitly in Federalist 65 that impeachment involves not just legal questions, but inherently political judgments about what outcome best serves the nation.

The House can’t do both. The courts can’t do both.

This is as grave an assignment as the Constitution gives to any branch of government, and the framers knew only the Senate could handle it. Well, the moment the framers feared has arrived.

A political faction in the lower chamber have succumbed to partisan rage. They have fulfilled Hamilton’s prophesy that impeachment will, quote, “connect itself with the pre-existing factions… enlist all their animosities… [and] there will always be the greatest danger that the decision will be regulated more by the comparative strength of parties, than by the real demonstrations of innocence or guilt.” End quote.

That is what happened in the House last night. The vote did not reflect what had been proven. It only reflects how they feel about the President.

The Senate must put this right. We must rise to the occasion.

There is only one outcome that is suited to the paucity of evidence, the failed inquiry, the slapdash case.

Only one outcome suited to the fact that the accusations themselves are constitutionally incoherent.

Only one outcome that will preserve core precedents rather than smash them into bits in a fit of partisan rage because one party still cannot accept the American people’s choice in 2016.

It could not be clearer which outcome would serve the stabilizing, institution-preserving, fever-breaking role for which the United States Senate was created… and which outcome would betray it.

The Senate’s duty is clear. The Senate’s duty is clear.

When the time comes, we must fulfill it.’

Impeachment Moves Dems a Step Closer to Achieving Their Goal of Destroying the American Republic

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

More WINNING. Sooooo much WINNING. – The NASDAQ closed at a record high for a fifth straight day on Wednesday, while other market indexes closed fractionally lower, weighed down by bad news from Boeing, which announced it would discontinue building its troubled 737 Max jetliner.

Different houses, different agendas. – Also on the WINNING front, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell just keeps plowing ahead on the appointment of Trump judges. While San Fran Nan and her Democrat freak show caucus was focused on shoving through its impeachment sham in the House, McConnell was focused on shoving through 13 more Trump-appointed judges in the Senate:

Image may contain: text

These 13 judges bring the total Trump- appointed District Court judges to an amazing 174 in just three years. The Senate has also approved 50 Trump appointees to federal appellate courts during those three years. That is WINNING on a grand scale.

The “somber” impeachment became a celebration. – Prior to the start of yesterday’s impeachment debate on the House floor, the despicable, demented and depraved Pelosi admonished her troops that they must pretend – like her – that this was a “somber” occasion, a necessary decision that they come to only reluctantly and with heavy hearts.

All of which is, of course, abject bullshit, but hey, these are Democrats – everything they do and say is abject bullshit. Sorry for the language, but the time for niceties with these evil people has passed and the need for painful honesty has arrive.

The Democrats managed to maintain their faux solemnity for much of the day, but when the time for Pelosi to announce the final tally on the first sham article of impeachment arrived, slurring her speech in the process, they just could not contain themselves. Watch:

Was Pelosi drunk on alcohol? Probably, although with her fugitive denture situation it’s always difficult to tell. But her caucus was drunk on power, which is all anyone in the Democrat Party cares about anymore.

Speaking of power-mad drunks, Mad Maxine Waters provided another highlight during the debate, when she shocked everyone by giving the sign for “white supremacy” with her left hand while speaking from the podium:

Image may contain: one or more people

And all this time you thought she was a black supremacist racist hack. Life is complicated.

For the record, yesterday’s impeachment vote represents the first purely-partisan impeachment exercise in American history. Never before in the history of this country have the people borne witness to such a raw, naked, wholly desperate grasp for political power by a single party. Honest historians, of which there are precious few anymore thanks to leftist pollution of our entire education system, will record December 18, 2019 as a day of infamy, one that rivals Pearl Harbor and 9/11/2001 as days of mourning for our nation’s loss.

What yesterday’s purely partisan vote proves is that there are truly no people of good intent in the Democrat Party today. That vote means that, as we noted a few days ago, the Democrat Party is no longer a political party whose purpose is to govern, but a simple radical left activist group whose operational purpose now is to destroy the American Republic and every one of its institutions.

And they are well along their way to achieving that goal. The Democrats have spent the last 80 years creating a permanent underclass of Americans who they view as possessions, not human beings. They have already destroyed the Fourth Estate – the news media – which the Founders believed would serve as the public watchdog that would hold people with power accountable. They have already destroyed our education system for all intents and purposes.

Under Barack Obama, the left pretty much destroyed America’s system of justice, including the Department of Justice and the FBI. They corrupted our intelligence community to the point that it, along with the media, is now a true enemy of the people. And they corrupted our military leadership to the point where the senior personnel at the Pentagon cannot be trusted to simply do their jobs and follow the lawful orders of their Commander-in-Chief.

Indeed, the Democrats are now so power mad and convinced that their goal of total destruction of the Republic is in sight that Pelosi is now threatening to withhold sending her faux articles of impeachment to the Senate as required by the Constitution unless she agrees with the rules for a Senate trial:

“We’ll make a decision … as we go along,” Pelosi told reporters, adding that “we’ll see what the process will be on the Senate side.” “We have acted,” Pelosi continued, repeatedly refusing to commit to sending the articles of impeachment to the Senate. “Now, they’ll understand what their responsibilities are, and we’ll see what that is.”

In the original – actually good – film “Ghostbusters,” the demi-god Zul admonishes the Ghostbuster crew to “choose the form of the Destructor.” In response, Dan Aykroyd’s character, unable to clear his mind, accidentally chooses the Sta-Puff Marshmallow Man, setting up the film’s hilarious climactic scene.

In November, 2018, American voters, unable to clear their minds of the “Russia Collusion” pollution generated by the sham Mueller Investigation and spoon-fed to them by the Democrat activist toadies in the national news media, accidentally chose Nancy Pelosi, setting up this not-so-hilarious impeachment outcome.

In “Ghostbusters,” the good guys ultimately managed to slay the Destructor and save the city.

In real life, we’ll just have to wait and see how it all works out for America.

That is all.

The Democrats Will Have Their Impeachment and…then what?

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

The despicable House Democrats, led by the demented (literally) and depraved Nancy Pelosi will, like lemmings following their leader off the proverbial cliff, vote to impeach the 45th President of the United States later today. And then…what? – Our country will go on, and so will the Trump presidency, for at least another year and most likely for four more years after that.

The Senate will dispose of these sham articles of impeachment quickly once they arrive at its doorstep in the new year. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell made that clear on Tuesday when he suggested that, following opening arguments in a Senate trial, the Republicans will offer a motion to simply dismiss the case. McConnell also said that, just as the House impeachment exercise has been a purely partisan affair, he expects the Senate trial to be the same, meaning he does not anticipate losing a single GOP vote to the other side.

We’ll see. So long as Mitt Romney, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski remain senators, the prospect of GOP unanimity on any matter remains elusive.

Regardless, there is currently zero indication that McConnell and Lindsey Graham, who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee, will allow this to take up more than a handful of Senate days in 2020. After all, the Senate has more important matters to attend to, like confirming dozens more Trump-appointed judges to the federal judiciary.  In fact, McConnell has 13 more Trump judges up for confirmation today, even as the Democrats perform their impeachment charade:

Image

Once impeachment is done, President Trump will be tagged with the scarlet letter for the rest of his days, but that has hardly had any ill effect on Bill Clinton, who, along with the Coughing Crook, somehow managed to become near-billionaires in the years following his presidency. It seems that impeachment ain’t what it used to be, or perhaps it never really was.

The reality is that the cheapening of the impeachment process that Pelosi, Schiff and Nadler have wrought also cheapens its impact. Everyone in the country knows this is purely a hateful partisan exercise based on nothing real, the Democrat/media narrative to the contrary notwithstanding. The polling data available indicates that this entire charade has failed to turn a single American person against President Trump; indeed, if anything it has actually improved his standing among the voting public.

As I told radio host Greg Budell during my weekly appearance on Newstalk 93.1 FM in Montgomery, AL on Tuesday, the Democrats are going through with this because they literally have no choice. Their party has no real political agenda other than doubling down on Venezuelan-style socialism and they know their lineup of hacks, frauds and political midgets has no chance of actually defeating Donald Trump in a free election.

So their strategy at this point is do everything they can to de-legitimize the electoral process, and that starts by impeaching the President. That will lead to the narrative that he is now an illegitimate candidate, and the Senate’s quick acquittal of Trump will lead to the narrative that Trump and Putin will just team up to steal the presidency again in 2020.

Make no mistake about this, folks: The Democrat Party as it stands today is an anti-free and fair election party. What do you think the move to issue driver’s licenses to illegal aliens this week in New York and New Jersey is all about? It’s nothing more than an organized effort by the Democrat Party to facilitate massive voter fraud in those two states, which now join California in going down this road. You should expect states like Virginia and others along the East and West coasts to follow shortly.

The Democrats know they cannot win free and fair elections, so their plan is to do away with them, state-by-state. The three states mentioned above are already lost to the GOP for the foreseeable future, but when you see that particular effort going into place in marginal states like Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Florida, or “red” states like Texas or Alabama or Georgia – where Stacey Abrams is working hard on exactly that – then the entire country stands in real jeopardy.

As I’ve written regularly since about 1992, the only true, clear and present existential threat to the United States of America as it is constituted today is not Russia, not China, not Iran or North Korea or any other country. The only true, clear and present existential threat to the American democratic republic is the Democrat Party.

This sham impeachment is just the latest in a long line of clear manifestations of that reality.

We truly are living in interesting – and dangerous – times.

That is all.

Democrats Unveil Their Plans for Permanent Impeachment

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

If it wasn’t clear to you before today, it should be now. – The Democrats plan to make impeachment a permanent feature of their owning a majority of seats in the House of Representatives. Further, they plan to make the coming 2020 elections a referendum on their attempt to also gain control of the Senate.

That became clear on Monday, as reported by Politico:

In a filing to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, House General Counsel Douglas Letter argued that the House’s demands for grand jury materials connected to former special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation were still urgent because such evidence might become relevant to the Senate’s expected impeachment trial next month.

But Letter went further to note that even apart from the Senate trial, the House Judiciary Committee intends to continue its impeachment investigation arising from the Mueller probe on its own merit.

If it wasn’t already clear to you before, it should be now: The Democrat Party plans to not only make impeachment a permanent feature of its majority in the House of Representatives, it obviously plans to make the 2020 senate elections a referendum on using that body for the same purposes.

The Democrats don’t believe they have a candidate who can actually defeat Donald Trump at the polls next November, so their plan is to make the 2020 congressional elections a de facto referendum on removing Trump from office once he is re-elected.

Neal Katyal, a former acting solicitor general under Barack Hussein Obama, previewed this looming tactic in a tweet last week:

Texas Democrat Cong. Al Green also previewed the Democrat tactic around the same time:

“A president can be impeached more than once,” Green said, “So, we can do this, we can move forward with what we have on the table currently, we can take this before the Senate and we can still investigate other issues and when the president has committed additional offenses, and my suspicion is that he will, we can take those before the Senate.”

“There is no limit on the number of times the Senate can vote to convict or not a president, no limit to the number of times the House can vote to impeach or not a president,” Green continued. “So, my belief is that the speaker will probably say we’re going to move forward with what we have now, but we’re not going to end investigations and that there may be possible opportunities to do other things at a later time.”

So, those who were thinking that surely San Fran Nan would get control of her House caucus once this impeachment circus has failed in the Senate, well, think again. The belief that Pelosi was somehow dragged kicking and screaming into the impeachment farce by the far left wing of her caucus is nonsense: She is fully bought in and leading this process every step of the way.

She and her team are turning the House of Representatives into a permanent, 435-member impeachment committee, led by their Lawfare lawyers. And their plan is to turn the 2020 congressional elections into a referendum on doing the same thing to the U.S. Senate.

The audacity practiced here by the Democrats is exceeded only by their mendacity.

President Trump Savages Nancy Pelosi’s Fugitive Dentures

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

We are all so lucky to be living in the age of Trump. – On Sunday morning, Congressman Mark Meadows responded to a tweet from The Hill’s twitter account. The tweet showed San Fran Nan Pelosi, attempting to answer a reporter’s question while obviously having a very difficult time to keep her misbehaving dentures in her depraved mouth.

Watch as Pelosi struggles with her fugitive mouth appliance:

A few hours later, President Trump saw Meadows’ tweet and boy, was his response epic:

No doubt the leftist Perpetual Outrage Mob on Twitter is going nuts as I type this. It’s a beautiful, and very predictable, thing.

Never stop tweeting, Mr. President. Please, never, ever stop.

That is all.

Impeachment Consequences Coming Home to Depraved Democrats

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

For every action there is a consequence, and Democrats in congress and running for the presidency are feeling the consequences of their zeal to impeach President Donald Trump this weekend. – Let’s use Twitter to illustrate:

President Trump traveled to Philadelphia on Saturday to witness the grand annual football clash between Army and Navy. There, he met players and coaches from both teams prior to the contest, signed an executive order allowing players from military academies to immediately pursue professional sports careers upon graduating, received a rousing ovation from everyone in the stadium when he was introduced, and performed the coin toss while wearing a red “Keep America Great” cap.  Awesome:

Democrat New Jersey congressman Jeff Van Drew has informed his staff that he is so fed up with the Democrats’ impeachment sham that he is switching parties. Welcome to the real Party, pal.:

Minnesota Democrat Collin Peterson will join the ranks of weasely Democrats voting “no” on impeachment:

Oklahoma voters remind Democrat congresswoman Kendra Horn that “there’s not one county – not one county – in Oklahoma that voted for Hillary Clinton.” Horn is the only Democrat member of congress from Oklahoma. Next November, she will become a former Democrat member of congress:

Contrary to popular belief, there really still are real Americans in California. Here, several of them boo and taunt Bugeyes Schiff during a townhall meeting.:

Speaking of contemptible Democrats, Quid Pro Joe was reminded of his own illegal acts related to Ukraine on behalf of his ne’er-do-well son Hunter during a campaign event in Texas:

Democrat poster child Greta Thunberg took a lot of heat for pledging to “put world leaders against the wall” if they don’t bend the knee to her looming authoritarian world government. This child is nothing more than a stalking horse for a return of Hitlerian times. That’s what she is – you ignore that reality at your and everyone else’s risk:

Putting the coup de gras on Saturday, Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham invited Rudy Giuliani to come testify before his committee about his findings related to Obama-era corruption in Ukraine. Rudy has uncovered an amazing amount of wrongdoing at the highest levels of the Obama administration vis a vis Ukraine. Such a hearing would be absolutely devastating to Biden and the Democrats.

Make no mistake about it, the Democrats will suffer mightily at the ballot box for pursuing this purely partisan impeachment on the flimsiest reasons imaginable. In this process, they have utterly polluted our constitutional system of government and revealed their true Alinskyite/Marxist nature and totalitarian goals to the public. They can never go back from that.

And it’s only going to get worse, because they are just going to continue doubling down on failure. They have no real choice at this point. They are incapable of governing and have already clearly demonstrated the contempt they hold for the jobs the voters elected them to do. Thus, their next step will be to start undermining the validity of the 2020 election, and we’ve already seen Schiff, Nadler and Pelosi out there doing that.

None of this will stop until it is forcibly stopped, either by the voters or the Department of Justice. If Attorney General William Barr and U.S. Attorney John Durham fail to act by prosecuting the true bad actors over the next 11 months, then it will be up to the voters to remove the Democrats from their lone position of power in the House next November.

The Democrats are no longer a political party. Political parties exist to win elections and govern.

The Democrats today are nothing more than a radical leftist, totalitarian activist group, intent on destroying the institutions of U.S. constitutional government and on obtaining and wielding power by any means necessary.

They won’t stop, until they are stopped.

That is all.

Lindsey Graham: I’m Gonna End This as Quickly as I Can for the Good of the Country

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Sen. Lindsey Graham turned up on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo earlier today. He only did one segment, but a lot was said about the impeachment process. Graham, as is his habit, tossed out a lot of red meat that will infuriate some observers and please others, and vice versa. He got all sides covered, as usual.

His basic message was this: Impeachment is tearing the country apart, and because of that he is not going to extend it by doing things like allowing the President of the United States to call the witnesses he wants, or to force Adam Schiff to testify under oath about his pre-dealings with Eric Ciaramella, who everyone knows is the fake whistleblower who kicked this whole thing off. There will be no testimony from Hunter Biden or Joe Biden or Alexandra Chalupa or anyone else, if Graham has his way.

Graham’s grand plan is to – I kid you not – give the Democrats one more bite at the apple, allow them to present their slanderous joke of a “case” on national TV one more time, and then hold a vote if he has 51 Senators who will vote “yay” or “nay.” He promises the President will be acquitted, but with this guy, who really knows?

Below is a clip of Graham’s interview with Bartiromo, followed by a transcript provided after great and laborious effort for our voracious readers by your friends at the Campaign Update. Judge Sen. Graham’s intentions for yourselves.

Transcript:

Bartiromo plays clip of Graham on November 10, lambasting Schiff and House Dems for not allowing the “whistleblower” – CIA plant Eric Ciaramella – to testify, and saying that impeachment is “dead on arrival” when it lands in the Senate, largely as a result of that failure.

Bartiromo: You said that to me a few weeks ago – does it still apply today?

Graham: Well, the whole process is illegitimate in the house. It’s not just the whistleblower. You don’t want to create a situation where an anonymous person can start impeachment proceedings against a president of the United States. You can’t get a parking ticket based on an anonymous allegation. The hearings were held behind closed doors, the Intel committee gathered all the facts, the President’s lawyer was never allowed to participate, they asked to call witnesses in the Judiciary committee, they had one hearing of the Judiciary committee with 4 law professors and Nancy Pelosi said we’re gonna move forward with the articles of impeachment.

This is a joke of a process. It’s dangerous to the country, it’s the first impeachment scenario in the country started in-house, not with outside counsel.  Whitewater – Prosecutor Ken Starr. You had Mueller looking at all things Russia and Trump, you had prosecutors in the Nixon case, outside the system.  This is being driven by Schiff and Nadler, Pelosi – partisan people – and I think it’s gonna meet a quick end in the Senate.

Bartiromo: Who are some of the people you are gonna want to hear from if in fact this does go to a trial?  Are you gonna demand that people like the whistleblower, Adam Schiff, Alexandra Chalupa, Fusion GPS – are these some of the people you’re gonna want to question?

Graham: There’s two ways to do this. In the trial, you can have the President present a defense to prove the fact that maybe the Ukraine was interfering in our election. The Russians stole the emails, not the Ukraine, but there’s articles suggesting that Ukrainian officials met with Democratic operatives in 2016. I don’t know if that’s true.

But here’s what I’m gonna do with the trial: I’m gonna try to get this over as quickly as possible. Listen to what the house case…let them present their case, and if there’s nothing new and dramatic, I would be ready to vote and we can do all this other stuff through congressional oversight [which of course will never happen in Graham’s committee].

Bartiromo: So, are you saying you are not gonna have people come down and test…

Graham: I am saying that I’m gonna end this as quickly as I can for the good of the country. When 51 of us say we have heard enough, the trial is going to end. The President’s gonna be acquitted. He wanna call Schiff, he may wanna call Hunter Biden, he may wanna call Joe Biden, but here’s my advice to the President: If the Senate is ready to vote and ready to acquit you, you should celebrate that and we can look at this other stuff outside of impeachment. Impeachment is tearing the country apart, I don’t wanna give it any more credibility than it deserves.

Bartiromo: Well, it’s interesting that you say that, because for all of this time – yes, they’re trying to rush this through, the Democrats want to get this done before the end of the year, and before the Iowa Caucuses and before we learn more about the IG Report, and yet there seems to have been a wrecking ball thrown at our democracy with Adam Schiff getting peoples’ phone records…I mean, what do you think about that? Schiff getting the phone records of Devin Nunes, of John Solomon?

Graham: I think it’s dangerous. What he did was, I think, looking a Rudy, and Rudy made some calls to these folks…

Bartiromo:…so Rudy’s not allowed to make these phone calls???

Graham: No, he certainly can. But here’s what I would tell Adam Schiff: Do you really wanna start calling other members, Republicans, members of congress in oversight? Do you want me to call you to the Senate as part of Senate oversight? Where does this insanity go?

Bartiromo: So will you call him?

Graham: No I will not.

Bartiromo: Why?

Graham: ‘Cause I’m not gonna participate in things I think will destroy the country. I’m not gonna call a bunch of House members to come to the Senate as part of oversight. Now, if you’re a House member and you participated, you’re not subject, you’re not above the law, but we’re not gonna turn the Senate into a circus. And I would  tell Schiff: What you’re doing is very dangerous for the separation of powers here.

Bartiromo: Just the idea of getting that information into the public view, so that the public can start speculating, ‘oh, why did Giuliani make that call, and why was John Solomon on the phone with Giuliani,’ it’s…

Graham: Adam Schiff is doing a lot of damage to the country, and he needs to stop. Mueller spent two years and $25 million looking a Trump. This whole Ukrainian stuff is a joke. They got the money. The got the meeting with the President. They didn’t investigate Joe Biden or Hunter Biden. There is no ‘there’ there.

Bartiromo: I understand, but it’s not stopping, Senator. You say, he needs to stop, but it’s not, for three years he said ‘collusion’ is in plain sight.

Graham: Yeah, well the guy…

Bartiromo: Where’s the accountability for that? Let me hear your thoughts on the IG report, do you think that’s…

Graham: The accountability comes in November 2020 when the public sees what the House has done with their majority. They’ve spent all their time trying to destroy the Trump presidency, they’ve done nothing beneficial to the American people. You know who may be the most valuable player for the Republican Party in the 2020 election cycle? It’s Adam Schiff [who Lindsey refuses to call to testify].

Bartiromo: unh-huh.

[End]

Now, we could argue this either way. Graham’s argument that a quick resolution in the Senate is best for the country has merit: There is no question that this impeachment fiasco has been horrible for our country.

But to just call a vote after giving these despicable Democrats another nationally-televised chance to lay out their joke of a case? To do that without giving the accused a chance to defend himself by laying out a case of his own not only seems unfair, but also completely contrary to the American system of justice.

The very concept should be frankly offensive to Lindsey Graham, the former lawyer. But to Lindsey Graham the current politician, acolyte to the detestable John McCain – whose own hands are dirty in all of this – and longtime friend of Quid Pro Joe Biden, well, it no doubt sounds fantastic.

Bottom line: While this impeachment clown show has obviously been terrible for the country, what is really tearing our country apart is our ongoing bifurcated system of justice, which Graham’s proposed solution here would only serve to strengthen.

P.S.: No one should forget this moment from Graham and McCain:

The more you know…

Why Impeachment Will Now Become a Permanent Fixture of Government

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

If you think a Senate acquittal of President Donald Trump will put Nancy Pelosi’s clown show to rest for good, think again. – The Democrats will get their dummied-up articles of impeachment voted out just before Christmas as a gift to their lunatic Perpetual Outrage Mob on Twitter, irrevocably staining our nation’s history as a result. Many people are thinking right now that that will mean they can breathe a sigh of relief, since the Senate trial will likely result in an acquittal of the President, meaning he and congress will then spend most of 2020 conducting the nation’s business.

Well, if that is your thought process, you really should think again. Several Democrat members of congress, including Jabba the Nadler and even San Fran Nan herself, have made it quite clear this week that they consider getting to these articles of impeachment just sort of step one in what they hope will become a never-ending process throughout the duration of the Trump Administration.

We have this prevailing thought process among the corrupt media’s pundit class that Pelosi has been a reluctant, almost unwilling participant in all of this, but nothing could be further from the truth. People tend to forget that Mollie Hemingway of the Federalist, while riding an Amtrak train the day after the 2018 elections, overheard Jabba the Nadler having a telephone conversation in which he laid out his and Pelosi’s plans to convert the House Judiciary, Oversight and Intelligence committees into tools for a continuous impeachment effort, targeting not just President Trump, but Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh as well.

Nadler’s conversation was not just idle boast – everything Hemingway documented in her piece about that call has in fact materialized. The Democrats haven’t gotten around to Kavanaugh yet, but the key word in that sentence is “yet.”

This impeachment clown show could not have been conducted in the way that it has been unless Pelosi actively and willingly conspired with her committee chairmen – Adam Schiff, Jabba the Nadler and the late Elijah Cummings (now the detestable Carolyn Maloney) – to write new committee rules for this congressional session that were designed to facilitate the effort. None of this would have taken place had Pelosi not willingly and with malice aforethought authorized the spending of millions of extra dollars for these committees to arm themselves with a raft of radical leftist Lawfare lawyers, who wrote those committee rules and have managed the committee efforts on behalf of the bumbling chairmen.

It was no doubt the Lawfare lawyers authorized by Pelosi who came up with the whole idea of going after the President via the “whistleblower” construct, a strategy that has allowed them to keep the guy who supposedly initiated the whole thing under wraps, even though everyone in Washington knows his name is Eric Ciaramella. Every public word Pelosi has spoken about this effort – from her supposed reluctance to move forward to her insistence that any impeachment effort would have to be bipartisan and even to her despicable claims to “pray” for the President has been an outright lie.

She planned all of this, working hand-in-hand with her committee chairmen and the Lawfare lawyers that she authorized the money for, from the beginning. Even those subpoenas Schiff issued so he could spy on Devin Nunes and John Solomon and who knows who else were signed off on by the Speaker of the House.

This is her deal.

As of today, she has no motivation to end it and put her committees back to doing actual work once she has obtained her articles of impeachment. Why? Because this entire fiasco has produced literally zero change in public opinion. As of today, the President’s average public approval rating in recent national polls at RealClearPolitics sits at 43.7%, which is within 1% of where it stood at the first of September, when the Democrat/media Axis of Propaganda started promoting the Ukraine hoax.

So, this latest tactic in the never-ending coup d’etat against the President has produced neither positive nor negative results for the Democrats. But their problem is, it’s all they have. They know that none of the array of corrupt hacks in their presidential field has a prayer of actually defeating President Trump in next year’s election, so their only real hope of ridding themselves from their midst is to just keep digging in hopes they will at long last finally dig up something in Trump’s past that will stick to him.

Given that 98% of the corrupt news media does nothing but serve as the Democrat Party’s giant organ grinder monkey, there is no political price for Pelosi or anyone in her caucus to pay for turning impeachment into a permanent fixture of American government.

The only way this clown show will end would be for the American voter to stop voting for these despicable, depraved, demented Democrats.

That is all.
