Trump Fires ICIG Atkinson: Media/Coup Plotters Hardest Hit

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

A new day has officially arrived at the U.S. Intelligence Community.  – Late Friday afternoon, President Donald Trump (I still never tire of typing those three glorious words) pulled the trigger on Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson, providing him with his walking papers effective at the end of this month.

A more appropriate firing has never before happened to any employee of our federal government. Naturally, the corrupt coup d’etat supporters in our national news media went berserk. They all love Atkinson, given the key role he played in the whole fake impeachment hoax that distracted the nation’s attention from other crucial matters – like the Wuhan Virus – from September through January.

Here is the letter President Trump sent to Senators Richard Burr (RINO) and Mark Warner (D), the chairman and ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, last night:

The President no doubt took this crucial decision based on the recommendation of Acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grennel. It is also likely no coincidence that the move comes just a few days after former Congressman Mark Meadows assumed the job of President Trump’s Chief of Staff. So, let’s all give Mr. Grennel and Mr. Meadows a standing round of applause as well.

Oscars GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

Atkinson, remember is the corrupt Obama holdover who last August single-handedly enabled the entire impeachment hoax to move forward based on the anonymous, hearsay “whistleblower” complaint by surreptitiously changing the IC’s whistleblower rules to allow second-hand information. As reported this morning by Gateway Pundit:

Atkinson saw to it that the whistleblower form was updated to allow for second hand information, which the ‘whistleblower’ (believed to be Eric Ciaramella) provided in his complaint. Although, the form should not have been accepted based on second-hand information and because it was about the President of the United States (who is not in the IC), Atkinson accepted the complaint.

The whistleblower later attempted to edit the form he originally provided. The original form stated that the whistleblower did not talk to Congress before filing the form but after it was discovered that he had met with Adam Schiff’s team in Congress, the whistleblower attempted to edit his form.

It’s important to note that Atkinson’s move came just days after Schiff and his staff had coordinated with the fake whistleblower – Eric Ciaramella – to compile his complaint. Atkinson was obviously also coordinating his efforts with Schiff.

Let’s also remember that, after Atkinson was interviewed by Adam Schiff’s Soviet-style impeachment committee in September, the results were apparently so damaging to the hoax that Schiff has still refused to release the transcript of that interrogation to this day. Atkinson’s transcript remains the only one of the 29 interview transcripts still being kept under wraps.

Finally, the guys over at The Conservative Treehouse remind us in a great, comprehensive expose’ of Atkinson, that he was also singled out for criticism in last December’s report by DOJ IG Michael Horowitz:

Also, in the recent FISA review by the OIG the DOJ inspector general specifically identified issues with the “accuracy reviews” conducted by DOJ-NSD chief legal counsel. Who was that former DOJ-NSD chief legal counsel? That would be current ICIG Michael Atkinson.

Currently, former CIA Director John Brennan is under investigation for his role in the FBI spy operations against the Trump campaign and administration. Brennan is being investigated by U.S. Attorney John Durham, an assignment from AG Bill Barr.

Few people have asked why it would take a U.S. attorney to conduct a review of the CIA considering ICIG Atkinson should have been doing that oversight already. The answer within that non-discussed dynamic points to the reason why Ric Grenell as ODNI was needed.

So today, as you find yourselves going stir crazy as you continue to hole up in your home for fear of contracting a virus, take just a moment to celebrate the great news that your President took the time and political risk in the midst of this crisis to rid our government of this corrupt, malign influence who has done so much damage within our intelligence community.

Uncorking a nice, cold bottle of champagne might be in order.

That is all.

Boom: Trump Names Mark Meadows His New Chief of Staff

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

This is a big deal. – In a “surprise” move that really wasn’t all that surprising yesterday, President Donald Trump announced that North Carolina Republican Mark Meadows would replace Mick Mulvaney as White House Chief of Staff. Mulvaney had made it known weeks ago that he was ready to roll out of the high-pressure job to assume the post of Special Envoy to Northern Ireland, a post he has sought for some time.

It had long been considered likely that Meadows would assume some high-level post within the Trump Administration, a desire he had made known upon his announcement last Fall that he would not seek re-election to his congressional seat this year.

Here’s an excerpt from the report on the move by a decidedly-biased Politico:

President Donald Trump announced on Friday night that Rep. Mark Meadows will become the new White House chief of staff, a dramatic reshuffling of his senior aides in the midst of the growing coronavirus crisis affecting the United States and the world.

Meadows, a conservative North Carolina Republican who helped overthrow one Republican speaker, considered getting rid of another and pushed Trump into a disastrous government shutdown over funding his border wall, will be Trump’s fourth chief of staff in just over three years in office.

Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief of staff for the last 14 months, will become envoy to Northern Ireland.

It’s a most remarkable turn for the 60-year old Meadows, who in the eyes of his detractors has few qualifications for the post besides a talent for disruption, obstruction and obfuscation. Yet for the Republicans he’s fighting for — the House Freedom Caucus, of which he was a founder, and Trump — there’s no better advocate or strategist to have on your side.

The ascension to White House chief of staff is the culmination of a head-snapping rise for Meadows, who announced in December that he was retiring at the end of this term in Congress. Meadows was first elected in 2012, formed the Freedom Caucus with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) in 2014 and was the man who went to the floor to seek to remove John Boehner from the speakership in the summer of 2015.

[End]

Obviously, Politico’s editors assigned their most bitter liberal hacks to file that report. Oh, hey, I see John Bresnahan and Jake Sherman’s names on the by-line, so yeah, that’s exactly what they did.

Anyway….

The job of White House Chief of Staff is an a extremely high-pressure post, especially in this Administration, in which anyone seen as being an actual conservative who is loyal to the President himself becomes an immediate target for withering assault by the corrupt news media. It is no surprise that Mulvaney was ready to leave, since he took in far more incoming fire than his either of his two predecessors in the role, Reince Priebus and General John Kelly, neither of whom were considered by the media to be particularly conservative or loyal. The fact that both of those men were constant leakers to the media also helped insulate them from attack.

You can bet that one source of the bitter tone towards Mulvaney and Meadows in the report by Politico, as well as other reports out there this morning, derives from the fact that neither of those men have tried to curry favor with the Democrat toadies in the media by leaking national secrets to them. Both men are also quite conservative in their own right, a fact that liberal hacks like the authors of the Politico report equate to being Nazis.

Thus, the very traits that make Mulvaney and Meadows perfect for the job of Chief of Staff for Donald Trump are the traits that engender hatred from our corrupt news media.

Make no mistake about it: The job of Chief of Staff is a crucial one in any presidency. The COS has near-constant contact with the President – Meadows will immediately become Mr. Trump’s closest and most crucial advisor. He is not just there to manage staff. Meadows will have a seat in every national security meating and in every strategy session involving the President that takes place in the White House.

Thus, it is very important that one would have to go to great pains to find any member of congress who is more consistently conservative than Mark Meadows. You would also be hard-pressed to find anyone who has been more consistently supportive of President Trump, or who has worked harder to expose the rank corruption of not only congressional Democrats like Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi, but also leaders of his own political party.

The fact that Meadows is a well-known and long-time political leader from North Carolina most likely also worked in his favor. North Carolina will be a key swing state in this year’s presidential election, and Meadows will no doubt play a role in advising the Trump Campaign on ways to ensure victory there.

In making the move, President Trump speculated that Meadows might become “my James Baker.” As ideally-suited as Meadows seems to be for this position, that is highly doubtful.

James Baker served in the Chief of Staff role for 4 years and 15 days, through the entire first term of the Ronald Reagan presidency. He then again served for the final 150 days of the George H.W. Bush presidency.

It would represent an almost super-human feat of endurance for anyone to be able to withstand the pressure of serving in this particular job for four years for a president who is as mercurial and unwilling to be tamed as President Trump while under constant assault from the media. There is no more high-pressure job on earth.

Mulvaney lasted 1 year and 64 days before his new assignment was announced on Friday. If Meadows can last that long and leave still on good terms with the President, everyone involved should be thrilled to death.

That is all.

An Amazing Trump News Friday – Updated

At the end of what has unarguably been the best news week President Donald Trump has ever experienced, the hits just keep on coming. The news cycles just become more numerous and faster-moving as this Administration gains momentum. So I thought I’d just put together quick post of short-takes on several of today’s major items of great news:

WINNING ALERT! Another amazing jobs report hits the books. – The Labor Department jobs report comes in at a whopping 225,000 new jobs created in January, blasting “expert” projections of 160,000. The unemployment rate ticks up slightly to 3.6% due to thousands more former discouraged workers coming back into the workforce. Upwards revisions of 5,000 jobs for December, 2,000 for November.

We really do need a more competent set of “experts.”

Joe Walsh admits Trump “is unbeatable.” – The insignificant little wormy ex-GOP congressman ended his idiotic campaign, making his announcement on corrupt CNN. Because of course he did. In the course of that interview, Walsh admitted the President can’t be beaten by any RINO challenger like himself and that obscure former governor of Massachusetts who is also pretending to campaign against him, adding that Trump “literally is the greatest threat to this country right now. Any Democrat would be better than Trump in the White House.”

Adios, Joe. Don’t let the door hit you in your fat ass on the way out.

James Woods is back on Twitter! – The magnificent former actor, who had his account suspended last April by the speech Nazis who censor conservative thought on that social media platform, suddenly showed back up last night, and boy, is he in fine form. Here’s his first post back:

Better late than never, I guess.Bloomberg is reporting that CIA NSC mole Alexander Vindman may soon be losing his gig. Vindman’s dismissal or reassignment [more likely due to politics] may be a part of a general house-cleaning being planned by National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien. O’Brien said earlier this week that the NSC White House staff could be cut in half at the end of this process. That would be a true benefit to the nation. No word if Vindman’s similarly corrupt twin brother might also get scooted out of the White House. Let’s hope so.

Trump supporters fill key House committee roles. – Two key Trump supporters, Jim Jordan and Mark Meadows, were moved into key House committee roles by Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who himself is proving to be a light years’ improvement over sleazy predecessor Paul Ryan. Jordan will replace Georgia’s Doug Collins as ranking Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, given Collins’ race for US Senator in his home state. Meadows will move into the ranking member seat Jordan is vacating on the House Oversight Committee. Good news for the President to have these two great men policing the corrupt actions of the Democrat majorities on these committees.

Finally, the Democrats just keep descending deeper and deeper into the depths of antisemitism. – Watch as Fauxcahontas, without hesitation, endorses the antisemitic views of an audience member:

Dear Jewish voters: The Democrats hate you and want you dead. When will you wake up and stop voting for them?

UPDATE:  Trump defeats Democrats’ baseless emoluments clause lawsuit. – Per a report from Bloomberg News:

President Donald Trump beat back a lawsuit by 215 congressional Democrats who say he has been violating the Constitution’s emoluments clauses by profiting from foreign government spending at his Washington hotel and other properties.

A federal appeals court in Washington on Friday dismissed the case, saying members of the House and Senate lacked the legal standing to sue the president.

“The Members can, and likely will, continue to use their weighty voices to make their case to the American people, their colleagues in the Congress and the President himself, all of whom are free to engage that argument as they see fit,” a three-judge panel of the federal appeals court in Washington said on Friday. “But we will not—indeed we cannot—participate in this debate, overturning an April trial court ruling.“ They heard arguments on Dec. 9 in Washington.

BOOM.

That is all.

President Trump Savages Nancy Pelosi’s Fugitive Dentures

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

We are all so lucky to be living in the age of Trump. – On Sunday morning, Congressman Mark Meadows responded to a tweet from The Hill’s twitter account. The tweet showed San Fran Nan Pelosi, attempting to answer a reporter’s question while obviously having a very difficult time to keep her misbehaving dentures in her depraved mouth.

Watch as Pelosi struggles with her fugitive mouth appliance:

A few hours later, President Trump saw Meadows’ tweet and boy, was his response epic:

No doubt the leftist Perpetual Outrage Mob on Twitter is going nuts as I type this. It’s a beautiful, and very predictable, thing.

Never stop tweeting, Mr. President. Please, never, ever stop.

Watch Trey Gowdy and Mark Meadows Discuss FBI/CIA Effort to Entrap Papadopoulous

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

A couple of Fox News interviews Sunday and Monday morning serve to emphasize how important it is for President Donald Trump to declassify documents thus far withheld by the Mueller Investigation and the FBI under its “sources and methods” catch-all used to hide up embarrassing evidence from the public. The evidence discussed in these clips is transcripts of tapes made of FBI/CIA efforts to entrap Trump campaign operative George Papadopoulous in 2016.

The first clip is of Trey Gowdy being interviewed Sunday morning by Maria Bartiromo.

Here are some of Gowdy’s key comments:

“If the bureau is going to send an informant in it’s going to be wired and if the bureau is monitoring telephone calls there’s a transcript of that. And some of us have been fortunate enough to know whether or not those transcripts exist. But they haven’t been made public.”

“I think one [transcript] in particular is going, it has the potential to actually persuade people. Very little on this Russia probe, I’m afraid, is going to persuade people who hate Trump or love Trump. But there is some information in these transcripts that I think has the potential to be a game changer, if it’s ever made public.”

“[Texas Congressman] John Ratcliffe is rightfully exercised over the obligations the government has to tell the whole truth to a court when you are speaking permission to spy or do surveillance on an American. And part of that includes the responsibility of providing exculpatory information or information that tends to show the person did not do something wrong.”

“If you have exculpatory information and you don’t share it with the court, that ain’t good. I’ve seen it, Johnny has seen it, I’d love for your viewers to see it.”

The second clip is from a Monday morning interview Congressman Mark Meadows conducted on Fox and Friends addressing the same topic. This one has closed captioning along with it, so you can read it while viewing with the sound off.

What these two interviews do is just emphasize what we already knew: That these documents and many more simply must be declassified if we are ever going to get to the truth of what happened during the months in which the Obama FBI/CIA cabal was spying on and attempting to entrap members of the Trump Campaign and Transition Team.

Meadows said he has talked with President Trump about declassifying the documents, and that the President is serious about doing it soon.

“I think the delay is over,” Meadows said. “I think the president is serious. I’ve spoken to him recently and I think declassification is right around the corner and hopefully the American people will be able to judge for themselves.”

We’ve heard that repeatedly for months now, without result. If the President really is going to declassify documents, he needs to stop talking about it and just get it done.

That is all.

Mark Meadows Drops a Bomb on Fox News that the Rest of the Media Will Desperately Ignore

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

So long, Cynthia, we hardly knew ye.  And we’re really happy about that. – Bad actress Cynthia Nixon turned out to be an even worse far, far, far, far, far, far, far left-wing political candidate, as she got her whiny head handed to her in last night’s Democrat primary by ultra-corrupt New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.  Nixon couldn’t even get up to Wendy Davis numbers, pulling just 34.5% of the vote in the race.  What the results showed was not how much the despicable Cuomo is loved by New York voters, but how much Nixon and her Marxist ideology are still hated, even in a very liberal state like New York.

Let’s learn this lesson, because it is really important:  Nixon got slaughtered not because she “couldn’t get her message out,” but precisely because she became the darling of the New York and national fake news media and her senseless, destructive ideology was fully exposed to the voters.  This is in direct contrast to Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, who was able to pull off her surprise win over a longtime Democrat incumbent who barely campaigned, and thus was never exposed to the voters until after the voting had taken place.

The lesson here is clear:  The way to defeat these Marxist “Democratic Socialists” is to fully expose them to the voters.  You can bet this lesson will not be lost on Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who is in a fairly close race against extreme liberal Irish Bob O’Rourke (who calls himself “Beto”), who is being portrayed as just a moderate Democrat by the Texas and National fake news media who have adopted him and his campaign as their pet cause.

We can expect the Cruz campaign to focus and spend heavily on exposing the reality of Irish Bob to the voters.  The fake news media will accuse Cruz of running a “negative” campaign as if that is something bad, but the reality is that when the media won’t do its job of vetting candidates for the voters, the opposing candidate must do it for them.  Assuming Cruz adopts that strategy, what appears to be a close race in September will end up about a 10 point victory in November, because Texas voters aren’t going to want to sent a Cynthia Nixon clone to the U.S. Senate.

Speaking of lessons learned… – As he has watches as the depraved Democrats pander to Cynthia Nixon’s and Irish Bob O’Rourke’s ultra-leftist voters by pulling out literally every trick they can think of to defame, demean and destroy Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, we must hope that the lesson President Trump takes away from all of this is that, when the next Supreme Court opening comes up, there is no reason at all not to nominate a real, hard core conservative jurist like Amy Barrett.  The process will be the same no matter who he puts forth, so no use pussy-footing around next time.

A big bomb went off on Fox News last night… – and you won’t see any “mainstream”, i.e., fake media outlet talking about it.

Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) appeared along with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) on the Sean Hannity show to discuss this latest texting scandal involving disgraced ex-FBI Agent Peter Strzok and his paramour FBI lawyer Lisa Page.  For those unaware, this latest episode involves Strzok and Page discussing the fact that multiple deep state anti-Trump cabal participants within the FBI and DOJ were “leaking like crazy” to various media outlets last year during the run-up to the start of the Robert Mueller Special Counsel investigation.

Jordan had told Fox Business host Stuart Varney earlier in the day that one leftwing reporter was getting leaks from as many as 13 different individuals within the DOJ/FBI cabal, and repeated that fact to Hannity.  Meadows followed with this huge bit of information:

Rep. Mark Meadows: “There are dozens of other documents that will support the fact that Peter Strzok and Lisa Page had ongoing relationships with multiple reporters and that they were feeding them information to spin a narrative against this president… We know that James Comey leaked, we know that Andrew McCabe leaked, we know that Peter Strzok and Lisa Page leaked. We also know that the reporters who they leaked to know that they leaked. And look we got names. We also have the reporters’ names.”

That high-pitched crunching sound you heard around 8:30 CT last night was the sound of sphincters tightening in the offices of the New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC and CBS.

Even without the names, it would not be hard to figure out who the reporters are.  The fake news media was literally filled to the gills during this time frame with stories damaging to President Trump sourced solely from “a source close to the White House,” “sources within the FBI,” “multiple sources with knowledge of the investigation,” or however else the Times and Post could think to couch it.

All of which is why you won’t see any of this reported at the Times or the Post or any other fake media outlet.  They’re all praying to whatever god they worship that all of this gets delayed past Election Day, the Democrats win a majority in the House, and the coverup can thus be completed.

As the Campaign Update has told you repeatedly over the last 10 months, the fake news media was not only supportive of the conspiracy within the DOJ/FBI to first deny Trump the 2016 election and then to bring down the Trump Presidency, it has been and remains complicit in these past and ongoing efforts. Rod Rosenstein and his lackeys at DOJ continue to feverishly work to cover it all up and stonewall congressional document requests, but sooner or later it will all come out, and when it does, hell is coming with it.

Just another day in the fake news media is part of the deep state America.

That is all.

Jordan and Meadows Act Against Rosenstein is Transparently Disingenuous

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Tired of all this Winning yet?  Part I – Facebook’s revenues have begun to decline as conservative members, sick of years of abuse and discrimination coming from the evil minions of Mark Zuckerberg, have begun to abandon the site in droves, and new privacy regulations enacted in Europe begin to take a bite.  The result on Wednesday, after the company’s earnings released failed to meet expectations, was a 17 percent decline in its stock price, and a whopping loss of about $12 billion in net worth for Mr. Zuckerberg himself.  Man, no one could have seen this coming.  Oh, wait…

Tired of all this Winning yet?  Part II – Despite Facebook’s sucking wind, the stock markets in general jumped up in late trading after President Trump and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker held an impromptu press conference to announce they’d reached an agreement on a variety of tariff reductions and agreed to a process for lowering them further in the months ahead, with a goal of elimination of tariffs on many products entirely.  For the day, the Dow finished up by 172 points and the NASDAQ rose by 91.  The Winning never really does get old, does it?

Faking the news at CNN is a high stress assignment, Part I – The pressure of faking the news five days a week and sometimes even on weekends is apparently getting to veteran news faker Jake Tapper.  Mediaite has a report this morning detailing an incident in which Tapper went utterly ballistic last week at his “incompetent” staff during a commercial break after they rolled video clips in the wrong order as Tapper was doing his best to smear President Trump.  To be fair to Tapper, given that that’s pretty much all he and his staff do on their daily program, it’s easy to see why he’d be a little ticked off.  After all, smearing the duly elected President of the United States ought to be rote for these people by now.

Faking the news at CNN is a high stress assignment, Part II –  Finally, at long last, the White House took action to control the increasingly hostile and idiotic behavior of the White House press corps yesterday, banning CNN reporter Kaitlin Collins from an afternoon event after she has shouted inappropriate questions at the President, interrupting a morning event.  Naturally, all the other fake news outlets went berserk, accusing the White House of suppressing the press, which is a load of horse manure.

The White House move is neither inappropriate nor unprecedented.  Barack Obama, for instance, banned three reporters from Air Force One during the 2012 campaign after they’d written critical pieces about him.  And when Obama literally had a reporter tossed out of an event in real time for shouting inappropriate questions, the rest of the press corps cheered the action:

Whether these preening peacocks want them or not, every White House has enforced rules of decorum at the events it allows the press to cover.  So while all the fake journalists in the White House press corps were whining about Ms. Collins’ temporary banishment, any thinking American was applauding it as nothing more than a good and belated start.

Yes, let’s start paying foreigners for breaking U.S. law.  Genius idea. – New York Democrat Joe Crowley – you know, the clown who got his butt kicked by 28 year-old lame brain Alexandrea Ocasio Cortez in the Democrat primary a few weeks ago – told a gaggle of fawning fake reporters yesterday that he thinks the U.S. should compensate the illegal alien parents who have been temporarily separated from their children after they committed the crime of illegal entry against our country.  Just when you think Democrats cannot become any more anti-American than they’ve already become, they never fail to prove you wrong.

Congress’s Kabuki Dance with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein advances another step.  It’s a big one. – Just two days before the House of Representatives goes off on its annual month-long August recess, a group of 11 GOP representatives introduced articles of impeachment against him.  Led by conservatives Mark Meadows and Jim Jordan, the group accuses Rosenstein of “intentionally withholding documents and information from Congress, failure to comply with congressional subpoenas and abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).”

While all that is no doubt true – Rosenstein’s efforts to stonewall various congressional committees and his participation in the defrauding of the FISA courts have been well-chronicled here and elsewhere – the timing of this action is about as pathetic and transparently without intent to follow through as it could possibly be.  If these GOP congressmen had any real intention of enforcing congress’s authority to perform its oversight duties in the face of blatant DOJ obstruction, they’d have moved against Rosenstein months ago, given that the Deputy AG has been spitting on congress’s document requests for more than a year now.

“We’ve caught the Department of Justice hiding information, redacting information that they should not have redacted,” Jordan charged, adding that Rosenstein had attempted to intimidate House staffers with subpoenas.  “We’re tired of the Justice Department giving us the finger,” Jordan added. “The American people are sick of it.”

Yes, the American people are sick of it.  But the American people are also sick of members of congress being disingenuous with their constituents.  The introduction of these articles of impeachment, two days before a lengthy recess, with the full knowledge you do not have the votes to succeed (which Jordan and Meadows both admitted when discussing the subject no more than 10 days ago) and that it will all be a forgotten subject by the time you return to Washington DC after Labor Day, is about as disingenuous as it gets.

Tellingly, Congressman Jordan said he and Meadows had not even spoken to GOP House leadership about the impeachment articles, but said that “The American people are with us — that’s what matters.”

Keep pulling more stunts like this, Congressman, and the American people won’t be with you much longer.  Timing is very important on stuff like this, and the disingenuous timing for this stunt couldn’t be more obvious.

Just another day in a pox on all their houses America.

That is all.

If Sessions and Horowitz really do have an end game, it’s time to get to it

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Hollywood continues its slow death spiral.  – Actress Scarlett Johansson became the latest victim in the left’s war on women on Friday, and hardly anyone noticed.  Johansson had been cast to play a transgender character in a film tentatively titled “Rub and Tug” which had been lined up to begin filming in 2019.  In taking the role, Johansson would have added her name to a long list of heterosexual actors who have played such roles in movies.

But the radical left LGBTQ movement decided to make an example of Johansson, taking to social media to protest the fact that the role had not been awarded to an actual transgender person.  The answer why is obvious to any thinking person:  Ms. Johansson is a name celebrity whose presence in the film would help ensure it would be profitable.  This is not exactly rocket science – it’s how the movie business works.

Without a name actress who would draw crowds to theaters in the role, it is in fact unlikely the movie will even be made.  But the activists would rather kill he film than see this extremely leftist actress get the role.

So how far are the activists willing to take this particular principle?  Will they demand the recasting of the role of the gay character Cam Tucker in the sitcom “Modern Family,” which has been hilariously played by heterosexual actor Eric Stonestreet since 2009?  And will they ultimately, for authenticy’s sake, demand that all hetero roles be played by non-gay actors?  If not, why not, other than the obvious answer that it would mean that certain prominent closeted actors would never work again?

While transgender actors complain that they can’t even get auditions to play heterosexual roles, killing film projects like this one seems like a pretty poor way of increasing their chances.  In announcing her withdrawal from the role, Ms. Johansson said “According to GLAAD, LGBTQ+ characters dropped 40% in 2017 from the previous year, with no representation of trans characters in any major studio release.”  Gosh, I wonder why?

How does Rod Rosenstein still have his job, Part 9,453. –   Infamous girlfriend of FBI Super Duper Agent and apparent disciple of Satan Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, was grilled behind closed doors in a deposition by the House Judiciary Committee on Friday.  Apparently, she offered up Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein as one of her sacrifices, at least if this tweet from Congressman Mark Meadows is accurate:

Back story:  On January 4, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes reached an agreement that DOJ and the FBI would provide seven witnesses in the coming weeks to testify before Nunes’ Committee.  Of course, Rosenstein also laughably committed in this deal to provide the Intel Committee access to “all” documents relevant to its investigation, a commitment on which the Deputy AG has continued to stonewall.

Well, it turns out that Rosenstein also had no intention of providing the agreed-to witnesses, at least if Meadows’ tweet is accurate.  Which is no surprise, given that Rosenstein’s strategy all along has obviously been to keep the congressional investigations at bay until the mid-term elections have come and gone in the hopes that the Democrats will win control of the House, allowing Democrat committee chairmen to kill the investigations entirely.  Which they will do, make no mistake about it.

Meanwhile, reports cropped up again on Friday that Meadows and fellow Freedom Caucus leader Jim Jordan are leading an effort to submit impeachment filings on Rosenstein as soon as next week.  If such an effort had the buy-in from Speaker Paul Ryan it would be meaningful, but without Ryan’s support and commitment to whip the vote in its favor, it’s just one more futile gesture by members of the feckless and toothless Republican House majority.

You could see in their body language and facial expressions during their recent testimonies before the House Judiciary Committee that both Rosenstein and Strzok believe they are above the law and completely safe from any punitive action related to their behavior.

There are two competing bodies of thought that would explain these two apparently bad actors’ behavior and attitudes:

  1. Rosenstein has been working diligently behind the scenes with AG Jeff Sessions and DOJ IG Michael Horowitz to get at the truth – with Strzok as a cooperating witness who has been given immunity – and are planning to unleash hell at the real bad actors once the final Horowitz report becomes public, all with President Trump’s full knowledge and cooperation; or
  2. Rosenstein and Strzok know that Sessions is hopelessly corrupt or compromised and will never take any action against them, meaning this ongoing farce will just continue for another 2 or 6 years, until a new president can come into office and cover it all up.

I have wanted to believe scenario #1 above, and have even bought into it in some instances because it has seemed to make sense.  But the longer this all lingers on and the more of Rosenstein’s stonewalling and outright deception become publicly revealed, the less probable that first line of thought appears to become.

The news on Thursday that Strzok still has his FBI security clearances in place two weeks after Sessions publicly claimed they had been revoked doesn’t help much, either.

The bottom line is this:  If Sessions, Rosenstein, Horowitz and President Trump truly have been executing some grand Machiavellian scheme to ultimately bring all the Obama-era bad actors to justice, they’d better get to the end game very quickly.  Because if you’re in danger of losing people like me, you’re in danger of losing everything.

Just another day in this crap has gone on long enough America.

That is all.
