Monday News Roundup: Democrats Crack, Trump Doubles Down, McEnany Blasted by Hacks

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Is the Democrat governor dam cracking? – Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, a true doofus who has kept his entire state on lockdown despite seeing fewer than 100 Wuhan Virus deaths that did not occur among nursing home residents, seems to be beginning to see the light.

Two days after President Donald Trump threatened to begin withholding federal funds from states that continue to discriminate against places of worship, Walz announced on Sunday that churches in his state would be able to reopen at 25% capacity beginning Tuesday. The Governor had been under heavy pressure from Catholic and Lutheran leaders, who informed him in a letter they planned to reopen Tuesday regardless of any orders he chose to leave in place.

Here’s an excerpt as reported in the Daily Caller:

Walz had previously announced that restaurants, bars, and certain small businesses would be allowed to open at 50% capacity on June 1, but this order did not afford the same relaxation of restrictions to churches and instead limited church serves to 10 people.

Minnesota Catholic and Lutheran churches responded to Walz’s order in a Wednesday letter in which Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, Reverend Bernard A. Hebda, told Walz that public masses in Minnesota would resume May 26.

“It concerns us, however, that we still are without a clear roadmap, metrics, or definite timeline from your administration about a phased re-opening,” the letter told Walz. “Executive Order 20-56, moreover, seems to have taken a step backward, imposing an explicit prohibition on faith-based gatherings where none had existed.”

“Your willingness, at the same time, to allow a ‘click forward’ for other sectors and activities on your dial –many of which cannot be classified as essential as the life of faith, prompts us to consider it necessary to move forward. We certainly remain ready to work with your administration as events unfold and circumstances change.”

[End]

Thus, Walz relented under pressure. This could be the start of a trend.

Nevada’s doofus Governor, Steve Sisolak, also finds himself under increasing pressure. One reason why is the data, which increasingly reveals that the man’s ongoing shutdown orders have no basis in science or reason. Check this out:

Image

Sisolak and his medical advisors repeatedly warned that the state would probably see a significant increase in hospitalizations and new cases once restaurants were allowed to start reopening at low capacity on May 9. Instead, the number of new hospitalizations per day in Clark County have dropped steadily to zero.

With his senseless, draconian shutdown orders threatening to destroy his state’s gaming industry, most now expect Sisolak to announce on Tuesday that he will allow casinos to reopen at 25% capacity beginning on June 4. We’ll see.

One thing is for sure: As the data increasingly demonstrates that every prediction they’ve made about this virus is false, the cracks in the Democrat dam of obstruction are growing. The crowded beaches, lakes and shopping centers we have seen all over the country on this long weekend show that most Americans are already over this unprecedented and nonsensical approach to virus control and ready to resume living their lives.

Holdout Democrat brutes like Gretchen Whitmer, Kate Brown, Tom Wolf, Gavin Newsom and Andrew Cuomo will ultimately be faced with a choice of relenting or seeing their citizens force the issue en mass. Because this is still America, even in the blue states, whether they like it or not.

It all comes down to Ratcliffe, Barr and Durham. – President Trump gave a wide-ranging interview to Sinclair New’s Sharyl Atkisson, host of ”The Full Measure.” Among many other topics, Mr. Trump probably put the final nail into the coffin of the flagging campaign of Jeff Sessions, which is a service to the country.

The interview is very long, and the full transcript can be found at this link. The President made some particularly interesting remarks about Obamagate and his four-year battle with the Deep State. Here are some excerpts from that:

Now what’s happened, but I didn’t know people in Washington and whether it’s Sessions, which was a mistake or Dan Coats was a big mistake, but Sessions was a big one. Coats, he sat there. He didn’t do anything. When you look at what Richard Grenell has done in eight weeks, these people didn’t do anything for two and a half years. They should have been exposing this. So I’m very disappointed in certain people.

I’m fighting the deep state. I’m fighting the swamp. And I said I was doing it. And I’m exposing the swamp. I think if it keeps going the way I’m going, and Ratcliffe is fantastic. If it keeps going the way it’s going, I have a chance to break the deep state. It’s a vicious group of people. It’s very bad for our country.

They never thought I was going to win, and then I won. And then they tried to get me out. That was the insurance policy. She’s going to win, but just in case she doesn’t win we have an insurance policy. And now I beat them on the insurance policy, and now they’re being exposed. Comey is a dirty cop, McCabe, bad guy. These are all bad guys. Lisa Page and Strzok. These are the two lovers, right? And they use public servers. They put it out public, because they didn’t want anybody to see, like spouses, et cetera, to see that they were having an affair. And because they did that, they got caught. Tremendous things have happened. They forged documents. We caught them. They had people that had forged documents.

Now, hopefully Bill Barr is going to do something about it. And you know what? Other things are going to come out too. And a lot of other things are going to come out, but you don’t even need other things. What they’ve done is so corrupt, they’ve tried to take down a duly elected president of the United States, happens to be in this case, me, but we can never allow it to happen again.

[End]

Interesting stuff, and rumors were flying in DC over the weekend that this could be a very interesting week. Let’s hope so.

You can tell the quality of a person by their enemies. – If that old adage is true, then Kayleigh McEnany is obviously a stellar person doing a hell of a job in her role as White House Press Secretary.

On Fox News Sunday, McEnany became the target of corrupt old media hack Chris Wallace and never-was Jonah Goldberg, who in 20 years has yet to write a single memorable word. Wallace clutched his pearls and tut-tutted about McEnany’s regular lecturing of the press corps, saying that “I spent six years in the White House briefing room covering Ronald Reagan. I have to say, I never — and in the years since too — I never saw a White House press secretary act like that. I have to say that if Kayleigh McEnany had told Sam Donaldson and me what questions we should ask, that would not have gone well.”

Of course, what Wallace fails to mention is that, as biased as he was, a Sam Donaldson in his prime would have been all over Obamagate, because he used to be an actual working journalist. Wallace never really was much of a journalist, and probably would have just parroted the Democrat Party narrative, something he’s made an entire career out of doing.

But the capper came when Goldberg, the “Never Trump” surrender monkey who has used the Wuhan Virus outbreak as an excuse to lose his razor blade and gain 30 pounds, called McEnany’s practice of actually fighting back against press hostility as “indefensible and grotesque.” This is completely in keeping with the “Never Trump” credo that good fake conservatives must never fight back, but keep surrendering ground so that they can get invited to all the right DC/New York dinner parties and occasionally appear on the Fox News Sunday panels with Chris Wallace.

People like Goldberg have built good livings out of constantly losing and surrendering. Thus, they despise Trump and anyone who supports him, because those people are upsetting the apple cart on which they have built their entire careers.

These are the worst people in our society, folks, leeches who produce nothing of value. Remember their faces and never forget what they have tried to do to our country.

This is especially important on this Memorial Day, as we remember our fallen heroes who lost their lives fighting to preserve our freedoms. Not a single surrender monkey or societal leech among them.

God Bless America.

Watch and Read: Kayleigh McEnany Lectures the Press Corps on Obamagate

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II

There’s really not a lot of commentary to add to this one. At the closing of her White House press briefing on Friday, the increasingly-great Kayleigh McEnany spent the final two minutes lecturing the worthless, 100% incurious White House press corps like my Cost Accounting professor used to lecture his hungover students on Monday mornings.

It was truly glorious.

Here is a clip of those final two minutes, followed by a transcript lovingly prepared by yours truly:

Transcript:

[There are a] series of good questions that any good journalist would want an answer about why people were unmasked. All sorts of questions. And I just wanted to follow up with you guys on that – did anyone take it upon themselves to pose any questions about Michael Flynn and unmasking to President Obama’s spokesperson? [waits] Oh, not a single journalist has posed that question. Ok.

So, I would like to lay out a series of questions, and perhaps if I write them out in a slide format – maybe we’re all visual learners and you guys will follow up with journalistic curiosity.

Number One: Why did the Obama Administration use opposition research, funded by a political organization and filled with foreign dirt, to surveil members of the Trump Campaign?

Number Two: Why was Lt. General Michael Flynn unmasked, not by the intel community entirely, but by Obama’s Chief of Staff, by the former vice president, Joe Biden, by Susan Rice, by the Treasury Secretary..I mean, this is extraordinary, and if it were political appointees in the Trump Administration, I can guarantee you I would have questions in my in-box right now. But apparently, Obama’s spokesperson does not.

Why was Flynn’s identity leaked in a criminal act – it is a criminal act to leak the identity of Michael Flynn to the press, but it happened. Where are the questions to Obama’s spokesperson? Because my team would be running around this building should this have happened under the Trump Administration.

Why did the DOJ – Sally Yates – learn about this unmasking from President Obama? So much for going “by the book,” as Susan Rice said, three times. Thou doest protest too much, Susan Rice.

And then finally, question number five, why did James Clapper, John Brennan, Samantha Power and Susan Rice privately admit under oath that they had no evidence of collusion while saying the opposite publicly?

It’s a long weekend, you guys have three days to follow up on those questions, and I certainly hope the next time I ask, some hands go up, because Obama’s spokesperson should be asked those questions. Because President Trump’s spokespeople certainly would be.

[End]

Wow. That was a pounding.

POLITICAL POSTERS (21 MAY) | Whistleblower Newswire

It is a sad fact of our society that, over the last half-century, the most lacking-in-curiosity-and-personal-integrity in our population have chosen to major in journalism. Even worse, those same individuals with no personal ethics or sense of curiosity have now become the professors at the nation’s journalism schools, and spend their days pounding any innate curiosity or ethical sense their young charges might have obtained from their parents out of them.

The result is today’s White House press corps. While it is easy to understand Ms. McEnany’s well-grounded frustrations, no one should expect this dynamic to change.

Real journalism is dead – with rare and notable exceptions – in our country, and has been for several decades now.

Hydroxychloroquine Hypocrisy: Kayleigh McEnany Exposes Fredo Cuomo

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany is so adept at dealing with the corrupt press corps that I’m almost glad she’s started holding occasional press briefings again. Almost.

It seems that every time she holds one of these things she exposes the members of the press for being the rank hypocrites we all know them to be. Yesterday, she figuratively ripped the pants right off of CNN’s doofus evening host Fredo Cuomo because … wait for it … he used a more dangerous form of hydroxychloroquine than President Trump has been using.

In treatment for his own alleged case of Wuhan Virus, it turns out that Fredo actually took quinine, which, as McEnany devastatingly revealed at yesterday’s presser, was taken off the market by the FDA in 2006 due to its severe side effects.

Here’s a clip of Kayleigh addressing the HCQ question and Fredo:

Here is an excerpt from McEnany’s remarks:

And one thing I want to note with regard to hydroxychloroquine, because I think it’s very important that we’re as accurate as we can be with our reporting on this: Hydroxychloroquine has been a drug that has been in use for 65 years for lupus, arthritis, and malaria.  It has a very good safety profile.

But as with any drug and as with any prescription, it should be given by a doctor to a patient in that context.  So no one should be taking this without a prescription from their doctor.

But that being said, I’ve seen a lot of apoplectic coverage of hydroxychloroquine.  You had Jimmy Kimmel saying the President is, quote, “trying to kill himself by taking it.”  You had Joe Scarborough saying, quote, “This will kill you.”  Neil Cavuto saying, “What have you got to lose?  One thing you have to lose are lives.”  And you had Chris Cuomo saying, “The President knows that hydroxychloroquine is not supported by science.  He knows it has been flagged by his own people and he’s using it.”

Well, Cuomo mocked the President for this.  And interestingly, I found this out just before coming here: Hydroxychloroquine, of course, is an FDA-approved medication with a long-proven track record for safety.  And it turns out that Chris Cuomo took a less safe version of it called quinine, which the FDA removed from the market in 2006 because of its serious side effects, including death.  So, really interesting to have that criticism of the President.

And on that note to Chris Cuomo, I’d like to redirect him to his brother, the Governor of New York, Governor Cuomo, who has several on-the-record statements about hydroxychloroquine, saying, “I’m an optimist.  I’m hopeful about the drug, and that’s why we’ll try it here in New York as soon as we get it.  There has been anecdotal evidence that it’s promising.  That’s why we’re going ahead.”  And I have about eight other quotes from Governor Cuomo should any of you have interest in that.

[End]

No one in the corrupt press corps was interested, of course. These are the most incurious people on earth. Your average Waffle House pancake possesses a keener sense of curiosity than the average reporter for the Washington Post.

Just in case you were beginning to think that anyone in the corrupt fake news media really holds any genuine concerns about HCQ, know that not a single one of the blue-check media hypocrites on Twitter tweeted a word of condemnation of Cuomo over his rank hypocrisy. As is always the case with corrupt reporters and the President, this is all about Trump and trying to “get” him. If Trump recommends something, or is taking some drug, it must be bad – that’s what the approved Democrat/media narrative dictates.

Yes, as both the President and McEnany have pointed out, HCQ can have severe side effects with certain patients, and should be taken only on the advice of a physician. That makes HCQ exactly like every other drug on the market today.

And guess what? When Remdesivir, which has been approved for emergency use by the FDA before going through full clinical trials, has been fully studied, it will have its own long list of side effects, as will any other hugely-expensive new drug developed by Big Pharma in response to the virus.

They all will soon be featured in those touchy-feely 90-second TV ads that feature soft music and 75 seconds of legal disclaimers. The guy who narrates those disclaimers will talk about all sorts of potential side effects, including death, as some chubby woman conducts a marching band or an elderly couple does yoga or looks peacefully out over a lake in the background to make you feel good and not listen to all the harm this drug might cause you if you take it.

All drugs have potential side effects, and HCQ is no different. The only two differences between HCQ and the drugs Big Pharma is developing and planning to make billions on are: 1) The side effects of HCQ are well-known and have been for decades, and 2) President Trump recommends HCQ.

That’s it, and that’s what Kayleigh McEnany revealed yesterday.

Kayleigh McEnany Knows She’s at War With a Bitter Enemy: The Press

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

This is how she should answer every snide question she gets from these corrupt clowns. – It turns out that new White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany is really good at this. Really, really good. Watch as she ends yesterday’s press briefing by completely turning a loaded question around on Jeff Mason of Reuters:

For the record, I still don’t like the Trump White House doing these press briefings. They are counterproductive in all respects, including giving these preening peacocks the TV face time they so desperately crave. The vast majority of the questions that are asked during these engagements are not sincere efforts to acquire information to use in real news reporting, but gotcha-type questions like this one designed to embarrass or to create fake news that would not otherwise exist, and which has no informative value for the public.

But, if the White House has decided to revive these briefings now after a long hiatus for whatever strategic reason, it’s good to have a spokesperson like McEnany, who comes into the sessions incredibly well-prepared and has years of experience in dealing with these people and others like them on TV and radio. Note that she didn’t have even a second’s hesitation in going to the exact page of prepared talking points in her notebook and immediately turning this loaded question designed to embarrass her back onto the reporter and the press at large.

This is a tactic that should be used at every opportunity by this White House. The entirety of the corrupt news media has been at open war with the Trump presidency since before it even began, and there is no reason at all for McEnany to pull any punches. Past GOP White Houses have always tried to play nice with the reprobates in the White House press corps in the hopes that doing so would buy them a bit of positive news coverage here and there. Occasionally that tactic even worked, although it was generally a fool’s errand.

But this White House has no hope of ever being able to cajole any positive coverage from these corrupt news outlets, and President Trump understands that. There is no longer even the slightest pretense of objectivity in any of the national media outlets. There is no good faith at play here.

Thus, if you’re going to insist on holding these briefings, they should be treated as purely hostile engagements. There is simply no possible advantage to doing otherwise. Each and every question that does not come from OAN or John Roberts at Fox News should be treated as a hostile question, and even Roberts’ questions should be treated with a great deal of skepticism.

More than anything else, these engagements should also be treated and prepared for as opportunities to expose the media’s own hypocrisy. That’s what McEnany did with the question in this clip, and she has done it repeatedly throughout the two briefings she has held over the past week.

Many communications professionals would advise her against this tactic on the reasoning that doing so will only heighten resentments and hostility in the room, but that’s simply dumb reasoning. As I have been writing here since January 2017, it is blatantly obvious that the media’s resentments and hostility towards the President or anyone serving as his spokesperson simply cannot rise any higher than they already are. As a group, these people are nothing more or less than activist agents of the opposition political party, and they cherish that role.

Every White House has an obligation to keep the public informed about its activities. That is a given, and every administration must figure out the most effective way to achieve that objective.

The White House press briefing was enshrined as a daily activity during the Gerald Ford administration because that White House decided that would be a politically advantageous thing to do. Ford’s presidency lasted 2 years and 5 months. So, was it really a good strategy? Probably not.

The point here is this: There are a hundred different ways for the Trump White House to communicate with the public. Giving vain jerks like Jeff Mason TV time to ask loaded questions is probably not the most productive means of doing it.

But if you’re going to do it, at least have a spokesperson who is sharp, witty and incredibly well-prepared. Kayleigh McEnany appears so far to fit that description.

That is all.

Cirque du Trump: It’s the Greatest Show on Earth

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

I swear I do not make this stuff up. Who could? – You could never make it up – never in a million billion gazillion years.

I kid you not: The President of the United States of by-God America was asked by some doofus reporter yesterday evening if he was planning to pardon…wait for it…oh, you have to wait for this one…JOE freakin’ EXOTIC!!! Yes, this guy:

What life is like for Joe Exotic in jail

You don’t have to believe me, you only have to believe your lyin’ eyes and ears:

Reporter: These ratings hits, aside from these briefings, there’s a show that’s called “Tiger King,” and the man who’s the star of this is a former zoo owner who is serving a 22-year prison sentence. He’s asking you for a pardon, saying he was unfairly convicted. Your son yesterday jokingly said he was going to advocate for it. I was wondering if you’d seen the show and if you have any thoughts on it, pardoning Joe Exotic.

Trump: Which son? [smiling] Must be Don.

Reporter: It was.

Trump: [smiling] I had a feeling it was Don. Is that what he said? I don’t know, I know nothing about it. 22 years for what? What did he do?

Reporter: He allegedly hired someone to murder an animal rights activist. He said he didn’t do that and he was, uh…

Trump: You think he didn’t do it? Are you on his side?

Reporter: Well, I…

Trump: Are you recommending a pardon?

Reporter: Ah, no, I’m not advocating anything like that…

Trump: As a reporter, you’re not allowed to do that. You’d be criticized by these…[points at Acosta] Would you recommend a pardon?

Acosta: Uh, I’m not weighing in on Tiger King…

Trump: I wouldn’t think you would, I don’t think you would. Go ahead, you have a question. [To first reporter] I’ll take a look.

Acosta: I do like Joe Exotic [well, of course he does]

Trump: [Reporter on front row holds up an image of Joe Exotic on his I-phone] Is that Joe Exotic? That’s Joe Exotic?

Acosta: Uh, let me get back to the coronavirus, Mr. President.

Trump: Yeah.

[End]

It’s the Greatest Show on Earth, folks. We are truly blessed to live in this day and time.

Meanwhile, in other, less entertaining news… – President Trump has a new White House Press Secretary, not that it really matters.

In case you missed it – and you can certainly be excused for doing so – Stephanie Grisham, who barely ever showed her face before the media during her brief time in the job, went back to serving as press spokesman for First Lady Melania Trump on Tuesday. Stepping into the job of White House Press Secretary will now be Kayleigh McEnany, a longtime communications expert who has most recently been serving in a similar role for the Trump 2020 re-election campaign.

Kayleigh McEnany - Wikipedia

As polished as Ms. McEnany is as a spokesperson, you will likely not be seeing too much of her in this role, much like Ms. Grisham. This is not a criticism of either woman, both of whom are perfectly capable of handling the pack of hyenas who make up the White House press corps.

President Trump, after watching Sarah Huckabee Sanders being abused and smeared by these clowns for a year and a half, decided early last year to simply become his own spokesman, and turn the White House Press Secretary’s job into more of a role of herding the media cats.

That has been a brilliant and highly productive move. Trump has, without any question at all, since become the most accessible president in the nation’s history since making that transition, often holding multiple press availabilities each day. He been so accessible during the course of defending the nation against China’s Wuhan Virus attack that he now has the petulant creeps on MSNBC and CNN whining every day that he has become too accessible. I kid you not: The coordinated talking point among the cable TV talking heads on Tuesday and Wednesday was that “the President has hijacked these Task Force press briefings.”

Think about that: This President is now literally being accused by corrupt media personalities of “hijacking” his own damn press conferences.

That’s how good he is at dealing with these shameless nitwits. He has them so discombobulated that they are utterly incapable of hitting back in any non-hysterical way.

It’s a beautiful thing to watch. As the President himself would say, ‘it’s the most beautiful thing we’ve ever seen. Many people are talking about it being such a great thing. No one’s ever seen anything like it.’ And he’d be right.

Enjoy it while you can, and work hard to make sure you get to continue enjoying it for four more years.

That is all.
