Bolton Out, Permanent War Crowd Angry. Cool.

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

National Security Advisor John Bolton claims he resigned today. – But the truth is almost certainly that he was fired, most likely because President Donald Trump became fed up with Bolton always playing George C. Scott’s General Turgidson character in the film Dr. Strangelove:

Turgidson: Mr. President, we are rapidly approaching a moment of truth, both for ourselves as human beings and for the life of our nation. Now, truth is not always a pleasant thing. But it is necessary now to make a choice, to choose between two admittedly regrettable, but nevertheless distinguishable, post-war environments: one where you got 20 million people killed, and the other where you got 150 million people killed!]

Muffley: You’re talking about mass murder, General, not war.

Turgidson: Mr. President, I’m not saying we wouldn’t get our hair mussed, but I do say no more than 10 to 20 million killed, tops! Uh, depending on the breaks.

Muffley: I will not go down in history as the greatest mass murderer since Adolf Hitler.

Turgidson: Perhaps it might be better, Mr. President, if you were more concerned with the American people, than with your image in the history books.

Here is what the President tweeted out about the matter earlier today:

It becomes tiresome, no doubt, to be constantly advised to just keep the wars going when you got elected based on a promise to start ending some of the damn wars. So, let’s nobody be surprised that the President ultimately got fed up and pulled the trigger, so to speak, on firing the White House spokesperson for the permanent war crowd.

Who leads that crowd, you ask? Well, to paraphrase the great Hans Gruber from Die Hard, “you ask me for the leader, I give you Mitt Romney”:

You should also expect your TV screens and social media news feeds to be filled with similar statements of outrage from the usual warmonger suspects like Bill Kristol, various writers at the National Review and of course, the presidential candidate you never heard of before last week, Joe Walsh.

Meanwhile, Senator Rand Paul, who supports the President’s vision of getting America out of these intractable Middle East and African conflicts, had this to say:

Ironically you will also no doubt see many of the very same Democrats and fake news media talking heads who slammed President Trump for hiring Bolton now also slam him for firing Bolton.

Oh, hey, here’s Democrat congressman Chris Murphy doing exactly that:

Finally, you will also see the fake news media who detest the President suddenly cast Bolton as the smartest guy in the room, a wise and seasoned advisor who everyone should now listen to, just as they have done with The Mooch in the past few weeks. I give it no more than 72 hours before either CNN or MSNBC gives Bolton a huge contract to be an on-air expert contributor.

Because that is who our fake news media is, and that is how they work.

That is all.

Trump Puts the Lie to “Russia Collusion” With Venezuela Actions

The Afternoon Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

In case you’re still thinking  this whole “Trump is Putin’s puppet” narrative has legs, well, think again. Vladimir Putin is a decidedly unhappy hombre’ today, and it all has to do with the ongoing efforts by the Trump Administration to depose his real puppet, Venezuelan socialist thug Nicolas Maduro.

Earlier today, National Security Advisor John Bolton and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin announced the U.S. would place severe sanctions on Maduro’s regimen and Venezuela’s national oil company, PdVSA:

Steve Mnuchin:  “As a result of today’s action, all property and interests in property of PdVSA subject to U.S. jurisdiction are blocked, and U.S. persons are generally prohibited from engaging in transactions with them.”

At his press conference, Mnuchin said these actions basically place a quarantine on $7 billion in PdVSA assets in the U.S., and would represent $11 billion in foregone oil exports to the U.S. over the next 12 months. Mnuch said the U.S. decided to target PdVSA because it has long been used by the Maduro regime as “a vehicle for corruption.”:

“A variety of schemes have been designed to embezzle billions of dollars from PdVSA for the personal gain of corrupt Venezuelan officials and businessmen.  For example, a 2014 currency exchange scheme was designed to embezzle and launder around $600 million from PdVSA, money obtained through bribery and fraud.  By May 2015, the conspiracy had allegedly doubled in amount, to $1.2 billion embezzled from PdVSA.  Abraham Edgardo Ortega, a Venezuelan national who was PdVSA’s executive director of financial planning, pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering for his role in the billion-dollar international scheme to launder funds embezzled from PdVSA.”

The ongoing, aggressive efforts by the Trump Administration to depose Maduro put the lie to Democrat/media allegations that the U.S. President is some sort of “puppet” or ally to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Putin has, over the last several years, invested billions of dollars in efforts to prop up the Maduro regime, often taking ownership of Venezuela’s oil assets in return.

As Reuters reported in 2017, Putin’s Russia had by that time already made at least $17 billion in such investments, a total that has only grown in the intervening two years. Thus, any sanctions on Venezuelan oil assets strike directly at the Russian Bear.

Putin’s spokesman at the U.N. made Russia’s displeasure with the efforts to oust Maduro very clear, as Russia led the effort to deny a unanimous U.N. Security Council vote in favor of an effort by the U.S. and European Union to impose international sanctions on Maduro, and endorse opposition leader Juan Guaido.

All of which adds up to completely refute the ongoing joint efforts by the Democrat Party and our fake news media to portray President Trump as a Russian agent.  These people really are shameless.

That is all.

The Deep State has Won a Few Battles, but is Losing its War on Trump

The Evening Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

So, let’s review the evolution of the Deep State Cabal’s strategy to rid the D.C. establishment of this troublesome interloper, Donald J. Trump:

  • It began as an effort to fix the 2016 general election – devising a tortured rationale to let the Pantsuit Princes off the hook on her email crimes; spending millions on a fake Trump dossier designed to damage her opponent’s reputation; feeding debate questions to the Coughing Crook in advance; paying an assortment of women to come out of the woodwork to accuse Trump of having affairs in the weeks leading up to Election Day, etc., etc.
  • Having failed in that effort, it morphed into an effort to create so many leaks by Obama holdovers and other deep states inserts into the Administration that it would make it impossible for Trump to govern.  Trump and his few loyalists responded by doubling down on their agenda.
  • Having failed in that effort, it morphed in the spring of 2017 into the Rosenstein/Comey conspiracy to dummy up false grounds for the appointment of a Special Counsel in the person of their best buddy, Robert Mueller.  Mueller’s initial goal was to find criminal wrongdoing by the President.  The problem there was that there is no such crime called “collusion,” and no president can be prosecuted for exercising his constitutional authority, meaning there is no case to be made for “obstruction of justice.”  Trump and his loyalists doubled down on their agenda again.
  • Having failed in that effort, but with congressional preference polling late in 2017 indicating the Democrats had a chance to win control of the House of Representatives in the midterm elections, Mueller’s goal morphed into an effort to build a plausible case for impeachment, and to leak as much damaging information has he could to a cooperating national news media in order to drive down Trump’s public approval numbers.  If he and his media agents could drive the President’s approval ratings down into the low-30s or even into the 20s, even Republicans would likely be willing to vote for impeachment.  Thus, we saw the efforts to claim Trump is mentally unstable, then the efforts to claim his health is bad, then the former playmates and porn stars crawling out of the woodwork to claim 10-12 year-old affairs, and on and on.  Once again, Trump and his loyalists doubled-down on the agenda.

But a funny thing happened to Mueller on his way to this latest goal:  his tactics became so blatantly abusive, and the media’s efforts to justify them so transparently and laughably phony, that the public has become repulsed by the tactics, not the target.  That reaction to the abusive charade, combined with a booming economy and a raft of foreign policy achievements thought to have been unimaginable in the previous administration, has resulted in the President’s public approval ratings climbing to their highest level in 14 months.  In fact, in the daily Rasmussen survey – the lone periodic poll that focuses on likely voters – Mr. Trump’s approval as of today sits at 51%.

So, yet again, the Cabal’s strategy, as implemented by the Special Counsel, the deep state thugs embedded within DOJ and the FBI, and supported by the national fake news media, has miserably failed.

Recently, though, we’ve seen the strategy shift yet again.  The newest strategy, which appears to have been implemented around mid-March, is to viciously assault and character assassinate anyone loyal to Trump in order to ultimately make it impossible for Trump to find people willing to work for him, and thus make it impossible for him to govern.  Call it Chaos Strategy #2.

It started with Scott Pruitt, the extremely effective EPA Administrator, who has been the subject of a withering assault by disloyal EPA employees, the radical environmental community, and the fake news media.  The media effort has been led by the degenerates at the New York Times, who have now filed more than 60 hit pieces targeting Pruitt in the last month.  At one point a few weeks ago, it appeared that the President was preparing to cave to this media pressure and fire Pruitt, but changed his mind at the last minute and stood firm.

That will ultimately prove to be a crucial decision point in all of this.  Had Trump caved on Pruitt, then the walls may well have eventually fallen in around him, because other senior people under assault – like Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke and Chief of Staff John Kelly – might have lost confidence in the President having their backs and jumped ship.

This Chaos Strategy #2 is what the repulsive character assassination of Admiral Ronnie Jackson was about, it’s what the assault on new National Security Advisor John Bolton’s integrity was all about, it’s what the Senate Democrats’ demonization of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was all about, it’s what the jack-booted raid on the home, office and hotel room of Trump attorney Michael Cohen was about, and it’s even what the White House Correspondents Dinners attacks on Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Kellyanne Conway were about.

Because Trump stood firm on Pruitt, this Chaos Strategy #2 is rapidly failing as well.  Yeah, they claimed a scalp with Admiral Jackson’s withdrawal, but today his main accuser, Vice President Mike Pence’s personal physician, Dr. Jennifer Pena, was forced to resign.  And yes, Cohen remains under assault, but there’s a long way to go on that situation as well.

Meanwhile, Bolton is the new National Security Advisor, Pompeo is now firmly ensconced as Secretary of State, Zinke is still reorganizing the Interior Department and its priorities, and Pruitt is still repealing the anti-American legacy of Barack Obama’s EPA.

So the Chaos Strategy #2 is failing as miserably as all the preceding Deep State strategies failed.  Meanwhile, prospects for the much-touted Democrat “Blue Wave” election wins in November are rapidly fading, the President is on the verge of one of the most astounding foreign policy victories in American history related to Korea, and the main report from DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz will be dropped within days.  That’s when the fun will really begin.

The Deep State’s gonna need another new strategy, and fast.

That is all.

Trump Dropped Some Twitter Bombs Sunday Morning

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

While so many Trump supporters have spent the last couple of days tossing tantrums about the President’s decision to sign the horrible Omnibus spending bill, some good things have been happening without getting much notice from the fake news media.

Tired of all this Winning yet? – Just a few days after the mass school shooting in Parkland, Florida, I wrote a piece that laid much of the blame at the feet of an insane Obama-era policy that rewarded school administrators and law enforcement officials for refusing to enforce the law against students who engage in criminal activity.  In the ensuing weeks since, more and more people in the news media have begun to report on the scam.  Better late than never.

This growing attention level has now led to a positive outcome:  The Trump Administration announced on Friday that it will eliminate the Obama policy.  Just one more element of the insane, un-American Obama legacy falls by the wayside.

The fake news media really hasn’t paid much attention to this reality yet – it’s been too busy trying to whip the public into a gun-grabbing frenzy and reporting on a porn startlet – but with his staff moves over the last month, President Donald Trump has basically purged his team of senior advisors of globalists.

  • Senior Economic Advisor Gary Cohn – gone.  Replaced with the Reaganite Larry Kudlow.
  • Secretary of State Rex Tillerson – gone.  Replaced – if he can be confirmed – by CIA Director Mike Pompeo.
  • National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster – gone.  Replaced by John Bolton.

Assuming Pompeo is ultimately confirmed, the Trump Cabinet and team of senior advisors will basically be devoid of the open borders/new world order internationalist influence.  While it is true that Bolton is an interventionist who favors aggressive U.S. military involvement in civil wars all around the world, he is very much on board with the Trump plan to dramatically increase border security.

Bolton also promises to “clean house” once ensconced in the job, eliminating dozens of Obama holdovers and other internationalists who are not loyal to President Trump, according to a report at Foreign Policy on Saturday.  Taking this action will almost certainly eliminate many, if not most of the leaks coming from the White House, some of which have been criminal in nature.

Bottom line, 14 months into his first term, Trump is finally putting together the team of leaders he should have had in the first place.  Again, better late than never.

Early this morning, President Trump issued the following two tweets:

These tweets are potentially very important, particularly the last sentence in the first one:  “Build wall through M!”, the “M” standing for “Military.”

The federal budgeting process is very complex and arcane, and one thing to remember in this current situation is that this “Omnibus” spending bill is just that:  A spending bill, not a formal budget.  It is a compilation of suggested spending levels for each executive branch department and the military, along with an array of restrictions that dictate how some, but not all of that money can be spent.

It’s important to also remember in this context that, on December 21, the President took the step of declaring a national human rights emergency related to child-trafficking, a declaration that would allow Mr. Trump broad discretion in taking action to crack down on those who participate in such human rights abuses.  It’s key to note that much such child trafficking involves moving kidnapped children in and out of the United States of America.

A second point to note is that, on Friday, the President notified congress that, in signing the Omnibus, he is accepting the funds under the provisions of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985.  This law also gives the President broad discretion in making decisions to refuse to spend funds that have been authorized by congress, as well as allowing him to reallocate spending priorities within the budgets of individual executive branch departments.

Finally, lets also note that, last October, the President declared a national emergency related to opioid abuse.

Now, read the text of that first tweet again, in the context of what is laid out above.  “Building a great border wall, with drugs (poison) and enemy combatants pouring into our Country, is all about National Defense.”  Combine that with “”Build wall through M!” and, it’s not unreasonable to think that Mr. Trump is at least considering the possibility of reallocating some portion of the beefed-up military budget to pay for building the wall along the southern border.

Doing that would of course create a media firestorm, but hell, what else is new?  And such a decision would also inevitably lead to a raft of lawsuits filed by leftwing activist groups before carefully-selected Obama-appointed federal judges, and possibly even a lawsuit from congress challenging the action.  But at the end of the day, such cases would have to go before the Supreme Court, where the President would most likely prevail, given the constitutional separation of powers.

As I’ve repeatedly pointed out, contrary to what the fake news media wants you to think, President Trump doesn’t just belch stuff out onto his twitter feed at random.  His tweets almost always have a purpose.  Often that purpose is to elicit a specific reaction from the fake news media.  Sometimes the purpose is to send up a trial balloon to gauge how the public would respond if he took a specific action.

I think Mr. Trump was doing both with those two tweets:  elicit a specific response from the media, and then gauge the public reaction to the media firestorm before deciding whether to move ahead.

Just another day in there really is good news out there if you look for it America.

That is all.

Will John Bolton Fix the Leaky Valve at the NSC?

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Man, another slow news day – having a hard time finding anything to write about.  Lessee here…

Down goes McMaster!  Down goes McMaster!  Down goes McMaster! – General H.R. McMaster, who has run the leaky valve we call the National Security Council (NSC) for the past 13 months, was finally, at long last given his walking papers on Thursday.  The move comes after the latest in a long series of major, embarrassing leaks that most likely came from either the General or his staff earlier this week.

That leak came when the substance of the President’s call with Vladimir Putin – including Trump’s congratulation on his fake election win, a matter of simple courtesy that was also extended by Barack Obama in 2012 – was leaked to the press, along with briefing notes compiled by the NSC advising Mr. Trump not to offer such congratulations.  The leak, as so many emanating from the NSC before it had been, was designed to embarrass President Trump, and it appears the POTUS had finally had enough.

The White House put out a statement late Wednesday that characterized this leak as “likely illegal” and promised to fire the person or persons responsible for it.  About 17 hours later, H.R. McMaster was starting the process of hunting for another job.  Hey, don’t feel sorry for him – he will no doubt have his pick of gigs at CNN, MSNBC, the Washington Post and the New York Times, fake media outlets that love to reward the hands that feed them.

In a tweet issued to announce the firing, President Trump thanked the 3-star General and said he would “always remain my friend.”  So, obviously, the President wants to create as little controversy as possible around the McMaster ouster.  It will be interesting to see if the White House is ever able to identify anyone else responsible for the leak of the Putin conversation, and if bringing in a new National Security Advisor has the effect of tamping down the leaks going forward.  Because with a “security council” like this, well, who needs it?

To replace McMaster, Trump named Bush-era UN Ambassador and noted neo-con John Bolton, so he’s replacing a liberal globalist Susan Rice fan with a very conservative war hawk who tends to favor U.S. intervention all over the world.  Appearing on Fox News shortly after his hiring had been announced, Bolton joked that, to get the job, “I promised not to start any wars.”  I’m not really sure that’s funny.

Whatever, Bolton will be a huge upgrade if he just doesn’t engage in the habit of leaking classified information to the nearest fake reporter.

Hey, guess which students are very predictably on the cover of the new issue of Time Magazine? – If you said “Parkland students,” you are partially right.  The fully correct answer, of course, is “a handful of Parkland students who are anti-2nd amendment and being manipulated by a bunch of leftwing anti-gun groups,” you are fully correct.

Because, of course, only the brainwashed children who want to take your rights away fit the anti-gun narrative the fake news media and Democrat Party have pushed for the last 50 years.  So tiresome.

Hey, remember those DACA “kids” (average age: 26)? Remember how I told you way back in December that the Democrat Party would never, never, never, ever agree to any sort of deal on their situation because they want to keep that issue alive through election day in November?  Yeah, we had another example of the truth of that overnight.

In the wee hours of the morning, the U.S. Senate – the most useless deliberative body on earth – approved yet another continuing resolution to fund the government, this time through the end of the fiscal year on September 30.  It is an utter, complete, total disgrace of a bill, a budget-busting monstrosity that not only continues funding for every leftwing priority but increases the money for most of them, a total capitulation by the Republicans in which pretty much the only thing that isn’t funded in any real way is increased border security and a border wall.  Thank you, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell.

Wait.  The other thing this “compromise” (read: Republican capitulation) bill doesn’t have in it is any sort of “fix” for those poor, poor “Dreamers”.  Golly, nobody could have seen that coming.

The two happiest people in the nation’s capital this morning are San Fran Nan and Chuck Schumer, who are no doubt hung over from all those toasts they were drinking during the night to Ryan, McConnell and the rest of the shameful establishment wing of the GOP.

If you are searching for the reason why Republicans hate Republicans, this bill is pretty much your Holy Grail.

Just another day in establishment Republicans selling out America.

That is all.

The New York Times: All the #FakeNews That Fits

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Warning:  If Everything is Sexist, Nothing is Sexist. – House Democrat Caucus leader Joe Crowley told reporters on Thursday that efforts by Republican congressional candidates to tie their Democrat challengers to House Sepaker San Fran Nan are “sexist.”  Crowley did not offer any explanation as to why Republicans criticizing the obviously incompetent, disgraceful Pelosi is sexist, but Democrat efforts to demonize every Republican woman on the face of the earth is not, and of course none of the fake journalists present would have dared to pose one of their Democrat heroes a followup question asking for more information.

But the reason behind Crowley’s statement is obvious:   Democrats know that their doddering Majority Leader is their biggest handicap in the mid-term elections.  They realize that it’s worth several percentage points to every GOP candidate to use images of her and clips from her outrageous statements in their campaign ads, so their plan is to declare Republicans as being sexist for doing so.  It’s just part of the Democrats’ Saul Alinsky-driven playbook.

Somewhere in India, the Pantsuit Princess is berating Huma Abedin for nothing thinking of this racket first. – The UK Daily Mail reports that swamp skunk former FBI Director James Comey is about to embark on a nationwide tour promoting his new book, and he will be holding promotional events to which attendees must fork over $97 per ticket.  I swear I didn’t make that up.  Obviously, there are too many Americans who are really, really hard up for entertainment.  Someone should tell them about Netflix.

Speaking of the Fainting Felon, it turns out that “sprained hand” reported on Thursday was actually a fractured wrist.  The Grasping Grifter injured the wrist when she she slipped in the bathtub in her hotel room in the city of Jodhpur, according to reports.  If you’re interested, here’s a photo of the marble-cased tub, courtesy of the Daily Mail:

The Cackling Crank is obviously not staying at the Holiday Inn Express while on her India tour.  That’s for those “Deplorables” out there in flyover country.

The Washington Post is reporting that President Trump has definitely decided to get rid of National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster, so I guess McMaster will survive after all.  I mean, it’s the WaPo, which has filed almost as many false reports based on confidential “sources” as the New York Times over the last few years related to Trump.

According to the WaPo, former UN Ambassador John Bolton is Trump’s first choice to fill the job, but the Post also rolls out the names of National Security Council member Joseph “Keith” Kellogg and current White House Homeland Security Adviser Tom Bossert as potential replacements.

It’s interesting to note that White House spokesman Sarah Huckabee Sanders denied the WaPo report late Thursday evening via Twitter:

One would hope the President wouldn’t leave his press spokesman hanging out to dry like this, but it wouldn’t be the first time that happened, so we’ll just have to see how the day goes.

And speaking of fake reporting by fake news media outlets… – In case you missed it, Clinton shill Maggie Haberman and some other fake reporter at the New York Times named Michael Schmidt issued a breathless report on Thursday that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has subpoenaed records from the Trump Organization.  Oh, my word!  Dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!

Folks, the Trump Organization has been responding to and complying with Mueller’s subpoenas for records since last Summer, when such activity was reported by the NYTimes and other fake news outlets.  In fact, yesterday’s story quotes Alan Futerfas, who is a lawyer with the Trump Organization, as saying the following:   “Since July 2017, we have advised the public that the Trump Organization is fully cooperative with all investigations, including the special counsel, and is responding to their requests. This is old news and our assistance and cooperation with the various investigations remains the same today.”

This is not just “old news,”, is not news at all.  What it is is an effort by the Times – and the unidentified criminal leakers in the Mueller team – to keep the Trump/Russia collusion fantasy on the front page of its fake newspaper.  In fact, Haberman and Schmidt can’t even attribute this story directly to those leakers – their attribution instead is to “two people briefed on the matter,” which could be a couple of guys who, over drinks with one of the Mueller flunkies at the Old Ebbitt Grill, heard the flunkie say “yeah, we tossed out another subpoena to the Trump Organization yesterday.”  Seriously, it could mean almost anything.

Haberman/Schmidt’s big “hook” in their fake story is this passage:   “The Trump Organization has said that it never had real estate holdings in Russia, but witnesses recently interviewed by Mr. Mueller have been asked about a possible real estate deal in Moscow.”   So, because some witnesses have been “asked” by Mueller’s Clinton/Obama-shill lawyers about a “possible real estate deal in Moscow,” Haberman/Schmidt want the reader to think this is somehow evidence of Trump “collusion” with Russia.

Note what that passage does not say:  It does not say that even a single witness has confirmed any Trump real estate deal in Moscow, or how, even if such a deal did take place years ago, that would in any way lead to a joint effort between the Trump Campaign and Vladimir Putin to influence the outcome of the 2016 election.

The Haberman/Schmidt story is the very definition of FAKE NEWS.  It is nothing more than an attempt to dress up old news as new news in order to try to influence public opinion against the current President of the United States.  It’s a disgrace to journalism, but then, it is the New York Times, so that pretty much goes without saying these days.

Just another day in Fake News America.

That is all.

In Trump World, a Cabinet Appointment is a Temp Job

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Spoiled high school children across the country skipped class on Wednesday to go pretend to know something about guns and gun control policy.  It was, like, totally rad, and of course Democrat politicians around the country exploited the kids’ acting out to make political points.  San Fran Nan, Chuck Schumer and the execrable New York Governor Andrew Cuomo all made anti-gun speeches to groups of students while surrounded by security guards armed with…wait for it…you know what’s coming…guns!  None of the kids noticed the irony in that, mainly because pretty much none of them know what irony is, but they did get to ditch chem lab or PE, so they were all happy.

Tired of all this Winning yet? – President Donald Trump announced yesterday that he will bring in economist and long-time CNBC news host Larry Kudlow to replace Gary Cohn as his chief economic advisor.  Kudlow was also an economic advisor to Ronald Reagan, and, with the exception of import tariffs, is a strong supporter of the Trump economic agenda, and the Trump “put America first” presidency in general.  He will be a huge upgrade over Cohn, a liberal globalist who would have been far more in his natural habitat working in a Clinton administration.  Thank God he didn’t get the chance.

With the President having already replaced Rex Tillerson and Gary Cohn this week, it is obvious he is intent on re-molding his cabinet into a group that is more on-board with his agenda rather than their own.  This is now leading to rumor-mongering among the fake journalist set.  Rumors are now flying that Mr. Trump will also replace Attorney General Jeff Sessions and National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster before the week is out.

The problem with those rumors is that they are coming from Vanity Fair, the NYTimes’ Clinton flunky Maggie Haberman and CNN’s pathetic Jim Acosta, several of the fakest fake news sources in business today.  So there is maybe a 50/50 chance there is anything to them.

The rumor about McMaster does seem most credible.  The General is a pure globalist, a liberal who was hired very quickly after the Mike Flynn firing last February, and is very likely one of the main sources of ongoing leaks coming from the White House.  McMaster is the clown who was responsible for extending the top secret clearances of Susan Rice and other Obama-era skunks long after they had left office, much to the chagrin of the President.

Former U.N. Ambassador in the Bush Administration John Bolton is the most likely replacement for McMaster.  The problem with Bolton is that he is a war-mongering neo-con, but at least there would be no doubt about where his loyalties lay, and he would not be a leaking problem.

Where Sessions is concerned, this is one we should believe when we see it.  Given that the rumors, if they aren’t just being made up out of whole cloth, likely come from someone in the White House who hates Sessions, it could be just one more example of fake news mongering.  Scott Pruitt, the rumored replacement for Sessions, would be a fabulous Attorney General, and unlike Sessions, would not be stupidly and unnecessarily recused from exercising oversight over Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

The problem there is that Pruitt has also been fabulous at EPA, where he has been aggressively reforming that out-of-control agency back to its statutory purpose of actually working to protect the environment after eight years of working to kill the national economy.  Putting someone else in charge over there, no matter who it might be, would necessarily place the progress achieved under Pruitt to this point at risk.

The other cabinet officials rumored to be in some jeopardy are VA Secretary David Shulkin  and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson.  Shulkin definitely needs to be gotten rid of, as he has been a walking, talking crap show in the job since day one.  Not only has he utterly failed to implement desperately-needed reforms at the VA, his personal behavior while in the job has resulted in a steady stream of negative press.

One problem:  Trump’s preferred candidate for this job, Energy Secretary Rick Perry, let it be known yesterday that he’s not really interested in taking on the intractable VA problems (who in their right mind would be at this point?), so Mr. Trump is going to have to find another candidate.

Carson has been similarly lackluster in his job performance at HUD, and also produced an embarrassment to the Administration a few weeks ago by spending gobs of money on unnecessarily fancy furniture and other accessories that don’t really belong in government offices.  There’s no real pressing emergency where Carson’s concerned – he just hasn’t turned out to be the right guy for that particular job.

In any event, we should all expect more cabinet shake-ups in the coming days, maybe before the day is out.  In fact, we should expect this to be an ongoing dynamic in this presidency.  This sort of churning of senior staff has been a feature in Trump’s business dealings, and there is no reason to expect his presidency to be any different.  The best way to look at these cabinet appointments is as temp jobs.

Just another day in it’s Donald Trump’s world and we’re just living in it America.

That is all.
