WATCH: Trump Cuts Meeting Short, Blasts Pelosi and Schumer

Today’s Campaign Update, Part III
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

President Trump cut this morning’s meeting with Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi short after Pelosi had earlier accused the President of committing a “cover-up.” Following the meeting, the President called the fake press corps together for an impromptu press conference, and it is a thing of beauty.

Just watch it. It’s too long for me to compile a transcript, and there’s no need for any commentary from me. The first 18 minutes or so are the President, the last 12 or so are Pelosi and Schumer lying.

That is all.

The Tantrum-Tossing Brats in the Democrat Playpen Demand Their Impeachment!

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

“I’m not for impeachment. Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country. And he’s just not worth it.” – Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in an April interview with the Washington Post.

Oh, why the hell not? – Democrats in the House of Representatives were always bound to try to impeach President Donald Trump sooner or later. They spent 18 months living in a fantasy world in which they’d be going down this road backed up by the findings of the “high crimes and misdemeanors” compiled in a final report by Gestapo Chief…er…”Special Counsel” Robert Mueller and his band of evil Clinton/Obama thugs, but that didn’t work out quite the way they’d hoped.

But Democrats are always determined to self-immolate themselves at the altar of the desires of their most incoherently radicalized members, supporters and the shrews on “The View,” so they’re just ready now to go down this road anyway. Thus, despite San Fran Nan’s protestations against the desires of the mob to try to reverse the results of the 2016 presidential election for no valid reason whatsoever, the mob is most likely going to get its way, and soon.

The President’s refusal to allow half a dozen Democrat-controlled congressional committees to have a do-over of the whole Mueller Witch Hunt  will become their rationale for claiming Mr. Trump is “obstructing justice” or something. That, and his refusal to let the likes of Jabba the Nadler and Bug-Eyed Adam Schiff have his last 20 tax returns to use for political exploitation.

Folks, these are not “high crimes.” They aren’t even “misdemeanors.” They are a President of the United States protecting the office of the presidency, which is a very important thing for him to be doing in the face of such congressional corruption and overreach. That is, if we wish to maintain a constitutional Republic form of government, something the Democrats stopped caring about many years ago.

David Cicilline, Chairman of the House something-or-other Committee – they’re all chairmen of something – typifies the Democrat incoherence on the subject. Appearing on Fox News on Tuesday, here is what he had to say:

Cicilline told Fox News there is a “tremendous level of frustration” behind the growing impeachment efforts, adding that he believes Trump is “behaving as though he is above the law and he is not.”

Uh, what law? Cicilline can’t say. Oh. So the plan is to impeach a president because you’re all frustrated? That probably isn’t what our Founders had in mind with this whole “impeachment” thingy.

The Rhode Island Democrat appeared on MSNBC and offered his reaction that the White House is instructing McGahn to refuse to comply with a subpoena to appear on Capitol Hill and the assurance from the Department of Justice that McGahn has “immunity” which does not legally require him to testify before Congress, something Cicilline believed was “legally incorrect.”

Dear Cong. Cicilline: Disagreements over the law should be resolved in the courts, not by throwing tantrums on the floor of the House.

“Let me be clear; if Don McGahn doesn’t testify, it is time to open an impeachment inquiry,” Cicilline said. “The president has engaged in an ongoing effort to impede our ability to find the truth, to collect evidence, to do our work, and this is preventing us really from ultimately finding the facts and doing our work in terms of oversight.

Uh, what oversight work is that, Congressman? Cicilline can’t specify. Oh.

Ok, what about a guy named Mark Pocan, who is Chairman [because of course he is] of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, which means he’s basically a Marxist. Can he be more specific?

Rep. Mark Pocan, a co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, said Trump’s “stonewalling” of Congress “only enhances the President’s appearance of guilt,” and “has pushed Congress to a point where we must start an impeachment inquiry.”

“Regrettably, the President’s most recent actions and continued disrespect for the Constitution are forcing us down the road to impeachment,”

Uh, what “disrespect” for which part of the Constitution would that be? Can you be specific? No? Oh.

Ok, please go on.

“The President and his associates are engaging in a campaign of obstruction and lawlessness that undermines the rule of law and does not reflect the actions of someone who is ‘exonerated’ as innocent. Congress has a responsibility to conduct oversight and get the information we need to deliver the truth to the American public regarding Russia’s interference in our elections.”

Oh, so we’re back to the whole “we’re mad ‘cuz the Bad Orange Man won’t let us have our do-over!!!” right? Right.

Please, do take that argument to the American people. It will not end well for you.

But that’s all the children have, and they’re angry, and they aren’t going to bed until they’ve had their do-over. Thus, Mommy Nan announced Tuesday afternoon that she will hold a special “impeachment meeting” of her tantrum-tossing caucus at 9:00 ET today. Oh, to be a fly on the wall…

Interestingly – and this is utterly without precedent and thus worth noting – Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez actually sounded like one of the rare adults in the room in talking about all of this. In a brief interview with Politico, the normally-raging nitwit from the Bronx said “I trust that the speaker is taking a measured approach to ensure that we’re moving everyone forward, I know that being a Speaker is hard – holding this party together is a difficult task, but I think that we know what we need to do. I personally believe…that I think we have to move forward.”

Man, who wrote that damn-near-sensible statement for her? I mean, you can tell from her body language that she’s reciting a script, but it isn’t her normal incoherent Marxist gibberish. Guess Cenk Uygur must be on vacation.

Dear Democrats: When AOC is suddenly sounding like the calm kid in your playpen, you are well and truly out of control.

Please, don’t stop on my account. Somebody go pop some popcorn…

That is all.

Radical Dems Prepare to Follow the Mueller Roadmap to Oblivion

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Hey, remember what happened to the House Republicans after they tried to impeach Bill Clinton? No? Cool, let’s do the same thing with Donald Trump! – That’s basically where House Democrats are right now. The whole purpose of Robert Mueller’s Witch Hunt from the beginning was to first enable the Democrats to take control of the House in the 2018 election and then to give them a road map for impeaching Donald Trump.

But that was all supposed to be done in the context of Mueller finding ample justification to actually charge the President with outright collusion with the Russians during the 2016 campaign, and/or for obstruction of justice, neither of which outcome Mueller was able to deliver. But that doesn’t matter to Democrat politicians – they spend every day making up and saying stuff that just isn’t true, after all. It’s how they make their livings.

So, Mueller didn’t really give us that roadmap? No problem – we’ll just make like he did. Thus, as soon as Attorney General William Barr released Mueller’s report to the public last Thursday, the calls from various Democrat members like Mad Maxine Waters and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for the House to immediately begin impeachment hearings began going out. Statements cautioning against moving in that direction by House Majority Whip Steny Hoyer and Bug-eyed Adam Schiff fell on deaf ears.

The cacophony of crazy voices only continued to grow louder over the Easter weekend, to the point where San Fran Nan felt the need on Monday to first send a letter to members stating her position on the matter, and then convene an evening conference call that lasted for an hour and a half. The end result of her efforts was to essentially give lunatic committee chairs like Jabba The Nadler and Elija Cummings carte blanche to continue their own Witch Hunts to see if they can drum up some smoking gun that Mueller couldn’t find during his 22 months of searching.

San Fran Nan’s letter is an object lesson the pure demented status of today’s Democrats. While she does not support moving ahead with immediate impeachment hearings, she obviously felt the need to placate her lunatic caucus by including red meat like:

“While we do not have the full report and the underlying exhibits, including the grand jury testimony, two of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s conclusions stand out: one, the “sweeping and systematic” Russian interference in our elections; and two, the President’s repeated efforts to thwart cooperation with the independent prosecutors in their pursuit of justice.”

This is pure, unadulterated idiocy. First, if there was indeed “sweeping and systematic” Russian interference in our elections, that all happened while Barack Hussein Obama was serving as President, and he did literally nothing about it.

Not only did Obama not do anything about it, he made a famous speech in which he even ridiculed the entire notion that it was even possible to “rig” a U.S. election. On October 18, 2016, Barack Hussein Obama his own self said this:

“But the larger point I want to emphasize here is that there is no serious person out there who would suggest somehow that you could even — you could even rig America’s elections, in part, because they are so decentralized and the numbers of votes involved.

There is no evidence that that has happened in the past or that there are instances in which that will happen this time.”

Donald Trump was a candidate who had never held any elected office in his life in 2016, when all of this “interference” in our elections by Russian agents supposedly took place. Robert Mueller and his 19 Clinton/Obama loyalists CLEARED Mr. Trump of doing anything to support or collude with those Russian activities. So, of the Democrats want to plow this particular field yet again, I’d imagine the President is sitting in the Oval Office smiling and thinking “Oh, please, by my guest.”

Pelosi’s second false point about “the President’s repeated efforts to thwart cooperation with the independent prosecutors in their pursuit of justice” is simply another Democrat load of fresh, smelly horse manure. Yes, the section of the Mueller report on Obstruction contains all sorts of gossip and unprovable innuendo contending that the President “thought about”, “considered”, and “lashed out” about all sorts of things, but the simple fact of the matter is that he did not do one damn thing to actually interfere with Mueller’s Witch Hunt.  Nothing, zero, zip, nada, bupkiss.

Even more compelling in the President’s defense, he in fact granted Mueller unprecedented access to his staff and executive branch documents, encouraged full cooperation from his people and never one time exercised his full constitutional rights to executive privilege.

But again, the actual truth does not matter a whit to Democrats these days. Their whole thought process centers around what they can make up, and more importantly, what can they and their toadies in the fake news media make the American people believe?

Yes, it’s despicable. Yes, it’s demented. Yes, it is the very essence of depravity.

But hey, these are Democrats we’re talking about here, so does any of it really surprise you? I’m guessing the answer to that question is a resounding ‘NO’.

That is all.

Pelosi Claims She’s Against Impeachment, But Her Actions Say She’s Lying

The Evening Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

She’s against impeaching President Donald Trump until she’s for it. – Hey, know how to tell Nancy Pelosi’s lying? Her lips are moving!  Hah-hah-hahhhhhh!

Ok, yeah, it’s an old joke. Sadly for the nation, where San Fran Nan is concerned, it’s 100% true.

Monday afternoon, she told the Washington Post in an interview that she is opposed to moving to impeach President Trump, “unless (isn’t there always an “unless” or a “but” whenever any Democrat makes a “promise”?) there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan” that it becomes unavoidable.

Pelosi is further quoted by The Hill thusly: “Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country.”

This is all just another lie from the most dishonest Speaker since Texas’s own Jim Wright held the office 30 years ago. All one must do to understand Pelosi’s lie in this instance is to spend 2 minutes analyzing the coordinated efforts the various committee chairmen who she appointed are lining up to do literally nothing over the next 18 months other than try to build a case for impeaching the President.

The execrable Jerry Nadler got that ball rolling a week ago when his House Judiciary Committee sent out subpoenas to the President and no fewer than 81 associates. Adam Schiff and Elijah Cummings, who chair the House Intelligence and House Oversight Committees, respectively, will follow with a raft of their own subpoenas by the end of this month.

The whole point of this tri-committee Witch Hunt is to build a case for impeachment that becomes “compelling and overwhelming” enough to provide congressional GOP squishes the cover they want to join in an effort to remove Mr. Trump from office. That’s what San Fran Nan’s “unless” phrase mentioned above is all about.

She’s against impeachment right now, but no one should think that in any way means she plans to lift a finger to stop it. To the contrary, she made the committee appointments she made specifically to get the most shameless partisan hacks possible atop those three committees.

That’s the truth. This is who Nancy Pelosi is, and how she operates.

That is all.

Pelosi Dodders Back Onto The Nation’s Main Stage

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Hey, remember when the Democrats pretended they might not try to impeach President Donald Trump while the were campaigning last year? – Yeah, that mask has come off completely now.  Michigan’s (not Minnesota’s, as I orginally said – my apologies to all Minnesotans) new Muslim rookie congressperson, someone named Rashida Tlaib, told a gathering of leftist radicals last night that “We’re gonna go in and impeach the motherf*cker.” At least she did if you believe the multiple fake reporters who covered the event, which we all know is a bit of a crap shoot.

Tlaib apparently wasn’t aware the leering press was in that particular room, but hey, it’s always good to know exactly what leftist radical morons are thinking, to the extent they actually engage in thought processes at all.  She had left the profanities out of an op/ed published yesterday by the Detroit Free Press, probably because someone on her staff wrote it for her.

In that piece she is credited with saying that “We already have overwhelming evidence that the president has committed impeachable offenses,” she wrote, accusing Trump of “abuse of power and abuse of the public trust“. The fact that none of that is actually true is of no concern to someone who clings to a philosophy that dictates that “truth” not only does not matter, it doesn’t even exist.

As if to emphasize Tlaib’s point, earlier in the day, Democrat Brad Sherman of California re-introduced an articles of impeachment bill that he first brought last summer, on the stupendously specious grounds that President Trump committed “obstruction of justice” by exercising his clear constitutional authority to fire Teenage Drama Queen James Comey.

“I think I skipped a couple of pages.  I’m not sure.”those are the exact words your new Speaker of the House, San Fran Nan, muttered into a live mike as she doddered away from the podium after her acceptance speech yesterday. Say what you want about how worthless and ineffective Paul Ryan was – and he undoubtedly was both – he at least had the presence of mind to know what page of the speech he was on.  Most of the time.

But look, Nan is just one of the residents in the nursing home crew we refer to as the Democrat House Leadership.  Respectively, Pelosi, Majority Leader Stenny Hoyer and Whip James Clyburn are 79, 78, and 79 years of age. They have all spent several decades knocking down the modest congressional salaries, and have all somehow managed to accumulate fabulous wealth during that time.  Funny how that works.

They are the doddering, muttering poster children for term limits.  Below are some shots of Pelosi in action outside the White House on Wednesday. I can’t tell if she’s having problems with a bridge or if she keeps a pet gerbil in her mouth.  You decide.

Yeah, that’s not gonna work. – As if to demonstrate exactly how un-serious she and her party’s House majority truly are, Pelosi led a party line vote on two separate spending bills designed to “re-open” the currently un-funded departments of the federal government. Neither bill contained a dime for border security. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell immediately announced he would not waste the Senate’s time bringing either bill to the floor for a vote.

Meanwhile, President Trump responded to Pelosi by making the following post on his Instagram page:

It’s on like Donkey Kong.

Your Homeland Security Department in Action! – Hey, remember when TSA Pre-check first came out and you applied for it and waited 6 weeks for the results, and then you got a letter in the mail saying you had qualified for it, but then, just a few months later the TSA made it all random so sometimes you got Pre-Check and most of the time you didn’t, and now they’ve taken it away completely and want you to pay $85 for qualifying for it again? Yeah, this is truly disgraceful. A pox on all their houses.

Brit Hume tweets out Today’s Required Reading:

Seriously, give it a read and learn what an utter disgrace to the journalistic “profession” – such as it exists these days – the McClatchy News Service has become. Warning: You’ll need some Zantac handy for when you’re done.

They keep using that word.  I don’t think they know what it means.:

Democrats on Thursday:  Trump is attacking our nation’s institutions!!!!!!!!

Also Democrats on Thursday:  Here’s a bill that would eliminate that Electoral College thing!!!!!!

You seriously cannot make this stuff up.

Politics, 2019: Tumultuous, Clownish, and Massively Entertaining

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

A look ahead to 2019. – Everybody does retrospectives this time of year.  I hate retrospectives – I’ve always preferred to look ahead. It’s just my nature – I have no idea why. So, let’s spend this time looking ahead to some of what we are likely to see in the political realm during 2019.

It’ll be a yuuuuuuge year for confirming judges. – Mitch McConnell may not be on board with President Donald Trump’s immigration agenda – witness his utter inaction over the holidays during the ongoing “government shutdown” – but he does like to confirm judges.  And he’s very, very good at doing it.

Working with just a bare 51-49 majority for the last year, McConnell’s focus on the judicial confirmation process has helped to ensure that President Trump has already had a major impact on the nation’s federal judiciary, and that impact will only expand in 2019. In fact, outgoing Arizona Senator Jeff Flake’s obstructionism has already created a large backlog of nominations, so we can expect the Senate to get off to a flying start in this regard early in the year.

We should also expect President Trump to have the opportunity to replace at least one, and possibly two more Supreme Court justices during 2019, much to the chagrin of snowflakes, social justice warriors and all other manner of leftwing lunatics. That will make for all sorts of fun.

The Mueller Witch Hunt will finally wrap up. – Because of course it will, and before March is over. That’s been the plan all along, as this fake investigation has always been about one thing and one thing only: Providing the new Democrat House majority with a roadmap for impeachment.  You can’t have impeachment without the roadmap, and you don’t get the roadmap until Mueller ends his brutalization of the Constitution and issues a final report.

There will be an impeachment. – Because again, that’s been the plan all along, from the day after Election Day, 2016. That’s what the whole made-up “Russia Collusion” fantasy play has all been about, it’s what the failed efforts by James Comey, Rod Rosenstein and Sally Yates to dummy up an “obstruction of justice” case was all about, it’s what all the machinations by the cabal within the DOJ and FBI have been all about.

The Mueller Report will fail to identify any “high crimes” committed by the President, but that won’t matter to San Fran Nan and her House majority.  They obtained that majority based on their implicit promises to impeach Donald Trump, and that is what they will do in order to satisfy their lunatic voter base.

They will never be able to attain the 67 votes needed in the Senate to remove President Trump from office, but they are so demented that they really believe they can hound Mr. Trump from office as a previous generation of Democrats and milquetoast Republicans combined to do to Richard Nixon. Boy, are they in for a big surprise in that regard.

The trade war with China will end. – And it will end pretty soon, probably by the end of the first quarter of the year, because China’s economy is bearing the brunt of the impacts. Just as with the revision and replacement of NAFTA, the new terms of trade will be much more favorable to the United States, although our fake news media will lie endlessly about that.

The U.S. economy will chug right along. – Despite all the recent turbulence in the stock markets, the U.S. economy remains in good shape, and the changes in the corporate tax structure signed into law by President Trump at the end of 2017 will keep massive new capital investments – and jobs – flowing into our country from overseas. The end of the trade war with China and the inevitable gridlock in congress that will result from split control of the House and Senate will settle the markets down and keep the economy growing at a healthy rate.

The Democrat presidential field will produce an embarrassment of …well, embarrassments. – By June, there will be at least 15 Democrat candidates formally running for the party’s 2020 presidential nomination. The field will include:

  • Creepy Uncle Joe
  • Commie Bernie Sanders
  • Fauxcahontas (and you all know who that refers to)
  • The guy best known for losing to Ted Cruz
  • Willie Brown’s paramour
  • Spartacus
  • Bill Clinton’s former bag man
  • The feckless son of Mario Cuomo
  • A couple of billionaires who nobody really likes
  • The mayor of a sanctuary city whose downtown area is fast becoming one big shanty town
  • and probably Hillary Clinton, too.

Holy cow.  And that’s just for starters.

CNN will keep faking the news. – Because that’s all CNN knows how to do anymore. And let’s be honest, they have plenty of company over at MSNBC, the New York Times, the Washington Post and every other national media outlet. CNN’s just basically our favorite poster child for Fake News.

President Trump will keep tweeting. – And thank goodness for that. I love it, just for the entertainment value, and because it enrages so many #NeverTrump nitwits.

Through it all, America will endure. – Because that’s what America does.

God bless America, and God bless you all.  Happy New Year!

That is all.

Get Ready for the Coming Impeachment of Donald J. Trump

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Mueller is “closing in” – on what, no one seems able to say. – Last week was the week when Robert Mueller started “closing in”. That’s what everyone in our fake news media kept telling us, anyway, so it must be true, right? Well…ok.

Supposedly, if all the talking heads on CNN and MSNBC are to be believed – which they most certainly are not – the sentencing memo related to Michael Cohen and the court filing in Mueller’s case against Paul Manafort contain all sorts of damaging allegations related to President Donald Trump. They are, in fake media parlance, the smoking guns that, for the 10,457th time over the last 3 and a half years, spell the “beginning of the end for Donald Trump.”

All this impeachment giddiness had bug-eyed Adam Schiff talking about President trump serving prison time on “Face the Nation” and despicable Jerrold Nadler promising to shut down all investigation into Democrat wrongdoing during 2016 when he takes control of the House Judiciary Committee come January. It was like Democrat Party Mardi Gras all weekend.

The problem for the Democrats is, last week’s events don’t really mean what they want us all to believe they did. The Cohen sentencing memo, filed by the Justice Department’s Southern District of New York (SDNY), is all about campaign finance and playmates and porn stars and hush money supposedly paid to them during the 2016 campaign. The same attorneys in the SDNY who refused to prosecute Barack Obama for more than $2 million in illegal campaign contributions taken in by his 2012 campaign are now supposedly going to indict a sitting president for $280,000 in payments that can only be classified as “campaign contributions” via very tortured legal logic.

The SDNY attorneys face several problems here, chief among them being that Justice Department rules dictate that no sitting president can be indicted while he’s in office. D’oh!

Problem number two is that, even if these hush money payments can be classified as campaign contributions, the Candidate himself has the ability to contribute an unlimited amount of money to his own campaign. The U.S. Attorneys suddenly concerned about the “sanctity” of campaign finance rules say he failed to report those “contributions,” which would be a technical violation supposedly committed by a candidate who did not even know they WERE contributions.

You’re going to send a sitting POTUS to jail for that? Really?  Good luck with that.

Problem number three is that, if Donald Trump is re-elected to a second term, the 5-year statute of limitations on campaign finance violations will have expired in 2021, 3 years before he leaves office.

Now, will the craven Democrats in the House of Representatives try to use the SDNY’s tortured logic as a reason to impeach President Trump? Sure, they will, but in doing so they will have to explain why this is an impeachable offense but Obama’s massive violations were not. Good luck with that, too.

The Manafort filing is just another Big Bag of Mueller Nothing, the kind of which we have seen in myriad leaks and filings and ham sandwich indictments from his office for more than 18 months now. Nothing about the “collusion” fantasy, nothing supporting any potential charge of obstruction of justice, nothing supporting anything remotely related to what Mueller was supposed to be looking into. But it did provide a lot of fodder for talking head panels on CNN and MSNBC to assassinate the President’s character and argue for impeachment, which is exactly what it was intended to do.

There is no doubt that President Trump is a man of low moral character, especially when it comes to his conduct in his married life. There is also no doubt that pretty much everyone who voted for Candidate Trump was well aware of this when they voted for him. After two full years of screaming first about their “Russia Collusion” fantasy and then about their “obstruction of justice” fantasy, the Democrats and our fake news media are going to try to force Mr. Trump from office because he might have, maybe, sort of, potentially violated campaign finance laws to cover up affairs.

Make no mistake about it, there will be impeachment hearings beginning early next year, for the simple reason that the Democrat Party stands for nothing else at the moment. The Party’s candidates did not campaign on any policy agenda this year, other than doing nothing more to change the failed Obamacare law and doing nothing to change our failed immigration system. The Democrats have always been really big on doubling down on abject failure, after all.

So, that’s what the next two years of American history are going to be – a long, painful slog in which the Democrats and their fake news media agents do pretty much nothing but try to reverse the results of the 2016 presidential election. There will be no major legislation passed through congress, which is fine with me, given that about 90% of the un-American legacy of Barack Obama has already been done away with in one form or another.

There will be no real budget bills, as the nation goes back to the decade of Harry Reid, in which the government was funded by an ongoing series of continuing resolutions. There will be no more tax cuts – or significant tax increases – no real efforts to reform immigration or healthcare or climate regulations or anything else at the federal level as the Democrat House and Republican Senate play a 24-month game of policy chicken and do little other than raise money for the 2020 campaign.

At some point – probably mid-to-late-2019 – after a seemingly endless series of nationally-televised impeachment hearings by multiple House committees chaired by despicable creeps like New York’s Jerrold Nadler, the Democrats in the House will successfully “impeach” President Trump in a party line vote. Some time after that, the Republicans in the Senate will refuse to remove the President from office, again on a purely party line vote.

It will be an instant replay of 1999, only with the party roles reversed. Then the election campaigns will gear up and dominate the rest of 2019 and all of 2020, as the voters decide who to punish for the two-year fiasco.

It’s key to remember that, after impeaching Bill Clinton in 1999, the Republican Party paid dearly at the polls in 2000, losing their six-year House majority in the process. With President Trump’s public approval ratings holding stubbornly firm at pretty high levels for a president at this point in his first term in office, the Democrats pursue this impeachment strategy at their own risk.

And pursue it they will.  Because they are otherwise bankrupt as a Party.

That is all.

Jordan and Meadows Act Against Rosenstein is Transparently Disingenuous

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Tired of all this Winning yet?  Part I – Facebook’s revenues have begun to decline as conservative members, sick of years of abuse and discrimination coming from the evil minions of Mark Zuckerberg, have begun to abandon the site in droves, and new privacy regulations enacted in Europe begin to take a bite.  The result on Wednesday, after the company’s earnings released failed to meet expectations, was a 17 percent decline in its stock price, and a whopping loss of about $12 billion in net worth for Mr. Zuckerberg himself.  Man, no one could have seen this coming.  Oh, wait…

Tired of all this Winning yet?  Part II – Despite Facebook’s sucking wind, the stock markets in general jumped up in late trading after President Trump and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker held an impromptu press conference to announce they’d reached an agreement on a variety of tariff reductions and agreed to a process for lowering them further in the months ahead, with a goal of elimination of tariffs on many products entirely.  For the day, the Dow finished up by 172 points and the NASDAQ rose by 91.  The Winning never really does get old, does it?

Faking the news at CNN is a high stress assignment, Part I – The pressure of faking the news five days a week and sometimes even on weekends is apparently getting to veteran news faker Jake Tapper.  Mediaite has a report this morning detailing an incident in which Tapper went utterly ballistic last week at his “incompetent” staff during a commercial break after they rolled video clips in the wrong order as Tapper was doing his best to smear President Trump.  To be fair to Tapper, given that that’s pretty much all he and his staff do on their daily program, it’s easy to see why he’d be a little ticked off.  After all, smearing the duly elected President of the United States ought to be rote for these people by now.

Faking the news at CNN is a high stress assignment, Part II –  Finally, at long last, the White House took action to control the increasingly hostile and idiotic behavior of the White House press corps yesterday, banning CNN reporter Kaitlin Collins from an afternoon event after she has shouted inappropriate questions at the President, interrupting a morning event.  Naturally, all the other fake news outlets went berserk, accusing the White House of suppressing the press, which is a load of horse manure.

The White House move is neither inappropriate nor unprecedented.  Barack Obama, for instance, banned three reporters from Air Force One during the 2012 campaign after they’d written critical pieces about him.  And when Obama literally had a reporter tossed out of an event in real time for shouting inappropriate questions, the rest of the press corps cheered the action:

Whether these preening peacocks want them or not, every White House has enforced rules of decorum at the events it allows the press to cover.  So while all the fake journalists in the White House press corps were whining about Ms. Collins’ temporary banishment, any thinking American was applauding it as nothing more than a good and belated start.

Yes, let’s start paying foreigners for breaking U.S. law.  Genius idea. – New York Democrat Joe Crowley – you know, the clown who got his butt kicked by 28 year-old lame brain Alexandrea Ocasio Cortez in the Democrat primary a few weeks ago – told a gaggle of fawning fake reporters yesterday that he thinks the U.S. should compensate the illegal alien parents who have been temporarily separated from their children after they committed the crime of illegal entry against our country.  Just when you think Democrats cannot become any more anti-American than they’ve already become, they never fail to prove you wrong.

Congress’s Kabuki Dance with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein advances another step.  It’s a big one. – Just two days before the House of Representatives goes off on its annual month-long August recess, a group of 11 GOP representatives introduced articles of impeachment against him.  Led by conservatives Mark Meadows and Jim Jordan, the group accuses Rosenstein of “intentionally withholding documents and information from Congress, failure to comply with congressional subpoenas and abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).”

While all that is no doubt true – Rosenstein’s efforts to stonewall various congressional committees and his participation in the defrauding of the FISA courts have been well-chronicled here and elsewhere – the timing of this action is about as pathetic and transparently without intent to follow through as it could possibly be.  If these GOP congressmen had any real intention of enforcing congress’s authority to perform its oversight duties in the face of blatant DOJ obstruction, they’d have moved against Rosenstein months ago, given that the Deputy AG has been spitting on congress’s document requests for more than a year now.

“We’ve caught the Department of Justice hiding information, redacting information that they should not have redacted,” Jordan charged, adding that Rosenstein had attempted to intimidate House staffers with subpoenas.  “We’re tired of the Justice Department giving us the finger,” Jordan added. “The American people are sick of it.”

Yes, the American people are sick of it.  But the American people are also sick of members of congress being disingenuous with their constituents.  The introduction of these articles of impeachment, two days before a lengthy recess, with the full knowledge you do not have the votes to succeed (which Jordan and Meadows both admitted when discussing the subject no more than 10 days ago) and that it will all be a forgotten subject by the time you return to Washington DC after Labor Day, is about as disingenuous as it gets.

Tellingly, Congressman Jordan said he and Meadows had not even spoken to GOP House leadership about the impeachment articles, but said that “The American people are with us — that’s what matters.”

Keep pulling more stunts like this, Congressman, and the American people won’t be with you much longer.  Timing is very important on stuff like this, and the disingenuous timing for this stunt couldn’t be more obvious.

Just another day in a pox on all their houses America.

That is all.

Robert Mueller is Really Desperate to Get Fired

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Robert Mueller really, really, really wants to get fired. – As if we needed any more proof of that reality facing President Trump, Mueller provided more last night, having someone on his staff leak a document to the New York Times which the Times claims contains a list of the questions Mueller is just itching to pose to the President.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the questions “relate to possible obstruction of justice, demonstrating how an investigation into Russia’s election meddling grew to include an examination of the president’s conduct in office. Among them are queries on any discussions Trump had about his attempts to fire Mueller himself and what the president knew about possible pardon offers to Flynn.”

In other words, Mueller long ago gave up on the fantasy that there was any “collusion” between the Trump campaign and the Russians, and has been on a 10-month fishing expedition for some evidence that the President himself “obstructed justice”.  Apparently, Mueller considers even a discussion about firing him to be “obstruction of justice”, a prospect so Nazi-like in its concept that it should chill any thinking  American (yes, every one of you non-Democrats) to the bone.

On the other hand, Mueller’s focus on a “crime” that noted constitutional scholar and very liberal Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz has repeatedly said no sitting President can even commit in the firing or contemplated firing of any employee is very encouraging for Mr. Trump.   It conclusively proves that Mueller is holding a gigantic bag of nothing and is attempting to get Trump to fire him in order to provoke a debate in congress over impeachment.

For his part, the President is a little ticked about it all, as he issued the following tweet as I was compiling this morning’s Campaign Update:

Yes, it is quite disgraceful, but it’s also quite transparent in its motivation, and so this tweet should be the entirety of the presidential response to Mueller’s action.

We should also remember here that the President recently brought Rudy Giuliani into his legal team to negotiate an end to this sham investigation with Mueller.  It is likely that Mueller’s decision to leak this list to the media signals some dissatisfaction with the status of that negotiation, and is designed to pressure Giuliani on some point.  Another sign of desperation on Mueller’s part.

But back to the point above about impeachment.  Whenever some seemingly-significant event related to the Mueller sham investigation takes place, it’s always important to keep in mind that, ultimately, that investigation and the seditious conspiracy involving high officials from the DOJ, FBI and the Obama intelligence community leading up to it was always designed to accomplish one of two outcomes:

  • First, to create such a high degree of chaos within the administration during its early days that Trump would be pressured to resign – which is exactly why you saw the most recent season of the Showtime series Homeland end the way it did;
  • Failing in that first goal, the backup goal has always been to build up some sort of a case for impeachment, on the hopes that the Democrats will be able to win a majority in the House of Representatives in the midterm elections.

There is no doubt that the conspiracy to take down a duly-elected president did succeed in at least part of Goal #1:  It did create an amazing amount of chaos within the administration, and its willing participants in the fake news media did create a lot of external pressure on the President to resign.  The fatal flaw in this goal, however, was that the conspirators assumed Trump would react to all of this the same way prior presidents have reacted to the pressure of partisan special counsel investigations:  By panicking and pulling in his sails.

Instead, Trump reacted simply by ratcheting up the pressure from his own end, taking his case to the people, and achieving more notable public policy goals during his first year in office than any president in American history.  Probably 80% of the anti-American legacy of Barack Obama has been repealed, taxes have been massively cut, the economy is booming, and America is once again a true world power on the international stage.

This latest desperate act by Mueller comes at a time when the President’s personal conduct of foreign policy has resulted in the formal end to the 67 year-old Korean conflict, is moving strongly towards the de-nuclearization of the Korean peninsula, is gaining huge trade concessions from our international trading partners, and is about to either significantly reset the horrific, anti-American Obama deal with Iran that endangers the entire Middle East or end the U.S. participation in it.

So Robert Mueller desperately wants to get fired in a last-ditch attempt to create a case for impeachment.

That tweet was great, Mr. President.  Now, just go on about your business of winning the Nobel Peace Prize and let Rudy go about his business of ending the witch hunt.  Today’s a great day.

Just another day in the Mueller gun is out of bullets America.

That is all.
