America Must Hold the Corrupt News Media Accountable in Order to Survive

We must find a way to hold the corrupt corporate news media accountable before they destroy our country. – That’s been a consistent theme here at Today’s Campaign Update for four years now (today is the 4th anniversary of the very first Campaign Update posted on my Facebook page during the heat of the 2016 campaign), and it has become more urgent than ever. Because, as I noted yesterday, the media literally has the deaths of an untold number of Americans on its hands due to its focused disinformation campaign related to Hydroxychloroquine.

Dr. David Samadi, a Fox News medical contributor, put it this way on Twitter yesterday:

This is exactly the thing. Let’s remember that the media’s campaign to demonize the use of HCQ in treating COVID-19 provided cover to despot Democrat governors like Steve Sisolak in Nevada and Gretchen Whitmer in Michigan to temporarily ban the use of the drug for that purpose in their states. There is no question that that campaign, which included the knowing dissemination of bogus “studies” – one of which shamefully came out of the CDC – also intimidated doctors all over the country who might have otherwise prescribed HCQ to their patients and potentially saved their lives.

But while we focus our ire on our depraved news media establishment, we need to also remember the key role played by another prominent individual in all of this, a man who most assuredly knew better. Dr. Samadi called that person out as well:

Why indeed? To be clear: Dr. Fauci and the CDC have known since at least 2005 about the efficacy of HCQ in treating COVID-like viral infections. Yet, from the moment President Trump touted its use related to this virus at an early White House task force press briefing, Fauci has been in the media panning it. In those same media appearances, Fauci has focused on the promotion of incredibly expensive, unproven experimental drugs being developed by an array of Big Pharma companies in their quest to make billions off of this national health crisis.

Why? Why would he do that? Isn’t the answer obvious?

Fauci is the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), which is closely tied into and receives support from those same pharmaceutical manufacturers. Those Pharma companies essentially serve as NIAID’s lobby before congress, which helps to explain why a government institute that has consistently failed in its mission sports a $5 billion budget.

Oh.

HCQ is cheap, it is widely available and it has been used for decades mainly as a malaria treatment all over the world. There is no money to be made from HCQ.

For the corrupt, corporate news media, the motive initially seems less clear. That is, until you get to the next commercial break and suffer through yet another 90-second ad for some new drug with a mysterious name that was made up by a million dollar consultant.

This drug won’t cure you – because, hey, there’s no money in curing you – but it will dampen your symptoms at a very high price if you take it every day for the rest of your life. And, as you watch the images of some chubby 60 year-old who has the same ailment as you do leading a marching band through the streets of some Hollywood sound set designed to look like a 1950s town in middle America, you will want crave drug even as you sit through the 75 seconds of carefully-written legal disclaimers describing all of the horrible things that drug just might do to you instead of alleviating your symptoms.

The air time for that ad costs a bunch of money on NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC or even low-rated CNN. It is the life’s blood that keeps those fake news operations on the air.

Oh.

Let’s also be clear that the demonization of HCQ was not – as those corrupt media organizations contend – just a matter of them reporting the news. There is no question that it was a highly-coordinated effort –  complete with focus-grouped talking points that every reporter parroted word-for-word – that was motivated by the belief that demonizing that cheap, plentiful, well-understood drug would harm the President and his re-election chances.

This isn’t journalism- it’s a political campaign. Can any thinking person really doubt that if Barack Obama had endorsed HCQ, the media’s and Fauci’s reactions would have been entirely different? Like, 180 degrees different? Of course, they would have been.

Had Obama endorsed the drug, Governors Whitmer and Sisolak would have been demanding their legislatures allocate hundreds of millions of dollars to give the stuff away for free. They’d have ordered that every 7-11 in their state stock the stuff on their candy shelves and forced Girl Scouts to hand it out along with their cookies.

You all know this is true, don’t you? Of course you do.

The simple fact is that Americans are dead today because the news media and Democrat governors, supported by Anthony Fauci, treated HCQ not as the potentially life-saving medication that it is, but as a political football.

It’s easy to see how Fauci can and eventually will be held accountable for his serial mendacity about every element of this pandemic. If we are to ultimately survive as a society in its current form, America must find an effective way to hold these corrupt media organizations accountable as well.

That is all.

Saturday News Roundup: The Media has Blood on its Hands, and America has had Enough

Domestic terrorists? What domestic terrorists? – We led Friday’s News Roundup with the FBI’s arrest of one Jason Charter, a BLM/Antifa organizer who led the effort that tried and failed to take down the Andrew Jackson statue in Washington, DC’s Lafayette Square last month. That seemed like an important story with all of the media-fed, Democrat-organized social unrest taking place in the country, right?

It turns out that, other than Fox News and OAN, not a single other TV “news” outlet spent a second of air time covering that story. That’s right: ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, and CNN are all so down with the terrorist cause in our country that they refuse to report on the arrests of these terrorists when they take place.

In the minds of the corrupt editors and reporters at those outlets, it is far more important to spend their time spreading more panic porn about the Wuhan virus than it is to inform the public that many of the people who burned and looted large swaths of a dozen major American cities during June are being brought to justice.

Because if a story is good for Trump, it’s bad, bad, bad for the corrupt news media.

Speaking of stories that are good for Trump and really bad for the media… – A new study from the International Journal of Infectious Diseases finds that Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), which the corrupt news media spent months demonizing and lying about after Trump endorsed its use, does indeed save the lives of people who have contracted COVID-19.

From a report at the Wall Street Journal:

Coronavirus patients treated with the drug hydroxychloroquine within the first two days of admission were more likely to survive than patients who received other treatment, according to the study, which was published online by the International Journal of Infectious Diseases.

The study, which analyzed medical records of 2,541 Covid-19 patients, suggests that hydroxychloroquine can be effective if given during the early stages of contracting the virus and at the right dose, the researchers said. Other studies, however, haven’t found a benefit, and federal health officials withdrew the drug’s authorization for emergency use.

Patients whose records were analyzed were given 400 mg of hydroxychloroquine twice on the first day, followed by 200 mg twice a day the following four days.

“We gave it early,” said Marcus Zervos, head of the infectious-diseases division for Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, who co-authored the study. “If it’s given late in therapy, it’s going to have relatively more limited benefits.”

[End]

In other words, this study verified exactly the studies out of France and South Korea, as well as anecdotal information from doctors around the U.S. who have had tremendous results with treating patients with HCQ early in the course of the virus. We knew all of this three full months ago, but the focused campaign by corrupt media outlets like CNN, NBC and the New York Time to demonize this drug intimated many doctors to avoid its use, no doubt resulting in many deaths that would have otherwise been avoided.

The simple fact of the matter is that the American news media has blood on its hands over this safe, effective and cheap drug. But then, our corrupt media has so much blood on its hands these days that this episode is just par for the course.

If we can’t find some way to effectively hold these corrupt editors and reporters accountable for their actions, our country will eventually die. They are a gigantic cancer that is rapidly metastasizing across our culture.

How to know President Trump gave a great and effective speech… – President Trump delivered a soaring and inspiring patriotic speech at Mount Rushmore last night. Here is how the news-fakers at the New York Times characterized it:

Let’s remember that the New York Times has rolled out the terms “dark” and “divisive” at Trump’s inauguration speech and every one of his State of the Union messages. After each and every one of those speeches, the President’s public approval ratings went up.

Dear NYTimes editorial board: Your elementary school word template is failing.

Speaking of failing… – A group of protesters managed to delay the timing of the Mt. Rushmore ceremony for awhile as they blocked the road up to the monument ahead of the President’s arrival.

From a story at Fox News:

About 15 protesters were arrested Friday after they blocked an access road to Mount Rushmore hours before President Trump was scheduled to give remarks to kick off Independence Day weekend.

According to the Associated Press, the protest group was mostly made up of Native Americans protesting that South Dakota’s Black Hills were taken from the Lakota people against treaty agreements.

[End]

Note: Anyone who watched the protest action live knows that the AP characterization of the makeup of the protest group is completely false. The group in fact was made up mainly of the same kind of pasty-white entitled Millennials who we see dominating every Antifa and BLM-organized riot. But hey, lying outright to the American public is what the AP and the rest of our corrupt news media does.

More from the story:

One group parked three vans across the road and removed the tires from two of the vehicles to make it more difficult to remove them. Several demonstrators climbed on top of the vans chanting “Land back!”

The sheriff’s office said attendees had been told to arrive early and should have been past the roadblock by the time the standoff began. However, the Rapid City Journal reported that some motorists who had tickets for Friday evening’s fireworks show were unable to get through the protests and were standing by their cars watching the standoff.

The Journal also reported that law enforcement in riot gear as well as members of the National Guard had declared an unlawful assembly.

Police later used pepper spray on several protesters to break up the standoff and tow trucks were brought in to remove the vans blocking the road. Arrests were made after protesters ignored a police-imposed deadline to leave.

[End]

About that police-imposed deadline: The live video feed showed that the police present on the scene sat by and did nothing as the Antifa/BLM group showed up and blocked the road. It also showed that it took almost two full hours before the police finally brought in tow trucks and started using pepper spray to clear the damn road, actions that could easily have been achieved far more quickly.

This is unacceptable.

People in this country have an absolute right to protest in public, and that right must be protected. But people do not have any right at all to block streets, disrupt, vandalize and loot businesses or tear down statues. Those acts will only end when police are freed up to take quick and decisive action to end them.

Enough. America has had enough.

Have a Happy Independence Day anyway!

The Evening Wrap: A Fake HCQ Study, New Religious Cults, and Ben Sasse Throws a Tantrum *UPDATED*

Hey, remember that Lancet study from a few weeks ago that claimed to show that Hydroxychloroquine was somehow deadly to Wuhan Virus patients? – Yeah, the study was a scam:

It turns out that the company that provided the “data” for the study doesn’t even exist, and that the report that Lancet – a “respected” medical journal – published was actually authored by a science fiction writer. I’m not kidding. Not even the greatest science fiction writer who ever lived could possibly make this stuff up.

It was all just another leftist scam to “get” Donald Trump.  The sad part of it is that people most likely died as a result of the chilling effect it had on doctors being willing to prescribe this safe, cheap and widely-used drug for patients it could have benefited. Despicable.

This is what a religious cult looks like:

Just sayin’.

Speaking of stuff you could never make up… – A couple of friends who are on a trip in Alaska right now sent me this photo today:

This is posted on a miles-long hiking trail that most likely doesn’t have 50 people on it today. There is literally not one shred of science or data that supports the notion that staying 6 feet from people in the wilds of Alaska makes even the tiniest difference, yet there it is.

This is also stuff that a religious cult adhering to nothing but dogma would do.

Burying the lede… – Ned Ryun was angry to see the news that Lindsey Graham had postponed today’s scheduled subpoena vote by the Senate Judiciary Committee after Nebraska RINO Ben Sasse threw a typical hissy fit:

However, if you go actually read that article by The Hill, you find this lede conveniently buried way down in the final two paragraphs:

Earlier Thursday, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee held its own vote to give subpoena power to Chairman Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) for that panel’s investigation into Obama-era actions including Crossfire Hurricane.

The vote allows Johnson to subpoena Comey, Rice and former CIA Director John Brennan, among others.

Oh.

See, it’s not all up to Senator Graham. This can all just as easily be exposed by the Homeland Security Committee, whose Chairman is a far more serious person and not nearly so obviously compromised.

***UPDATE*** – James Rosen is reporting now that Senate Judiciary met later this afternoon and voted along party lines to authorize Graham to issue the subpoenas:

Fun!

***UPDATE 2*** The normally astute Mr. Rosen was wrong. Sorry about that.

What, is the New York Times running itself as a day-care center now? – After all of his corrupt reporters tossed a mass meltdown on Twitter last night and his editors staged an open rebellion over the publication of an op/ed by Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton, New York Times Publisher A.G. Sulzberger felt the need to explain the basics of newspaper publishing to his herd of juvenile delinquents:

The op-ed page exists to offer views from across the spectrum, with a special focus on those that challenge the positions taken by our Editorial Board. We see that as a source of strength, allowing us to provide readers with a diversity of perspectives that is all too rare in modern media. We don’t publish just any argument — they need to be accurate, good faith explorations of the issues of the day — and there are many reasons why Op-Eds are denied publication. It is clear many believe this piece fell outside the realm of acceptability, representing dangerous commentary in an explosive moment that should not have found a home in The Times, even as a counterpoint to our own institutional view. I believe in the principle of openness to a range of opinions, even those we may disagree with, and this piece was published in that spirit. But it’s essential that we listen and to reflect on the concerns we’re hearing, as we would with any piece that is the subject of significant criticism.

[End]

Absolutely stunning that a newspaper publisher has to write something like this to a pack of people who presumably graduated from something called “journalism school.” And we wonder why journalism – real journalism – has become an anachronism in our country.

Speaking of the corrupt news media… – Remember how every fake media outlet in the nation went berserk over this video clip a couple of weeks ago, with many squealing that these people were all gonna get the Wuhan Virus and spread it all over the country?

There have been no new cases of the novel coronavirus among the hundreds who flouted social distancing guidelines and attended pool parties at Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks over Memorial Day weekend, a state health official said this week.

Videos and photos that showed hundreds of partygoers prompted health officials in the state to express concerns that the large gatherings would lead to a surge in cases of COVID-19. Those who attended were urged to self-quarantine and get tested, while officials in St. Louis County — Lake of the Ozarks is a popular getaway for people who live in St. Louis — later issued a travel advisory.

Overall, the statewide hospitalizations from the virus have decreased by more than 40 percent in recent weeks, while the state’s number of positive cases has also declined, Parson said during the briefing, per the newspaper.

“Our hospitals are not overwhelmed. Our positivity rate continues to decline. People are recovering, and we are moving forward,” he said.

[End]

Oh.

One final reminder. – In 2009 and 2010, Americans put in office a Black president, a black attorney general, Joe Biden as VP, and Democrats had super majorities in both houses of congress. During those years, and the six years that followed, there was no criminal justice reform; there was no prison reform; there was no police reform or any other effort to correct racial injustice.

What did they focus on instead? Nationalized healthcare and climate change.

Because they’re all Democrats, and they don’t mean a damn thing they’re saying today.

That is all.

Tuesday News Roundup – WHO Stunt, Trump Threat, Biden Mask and a New Leftist Religion is Born

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Democrats destroy everything they touch. – The utterly feckless and corrupt World Health Organization announced on Sunday that it was temporarily suspending trials studying the effects of hydroxychloroquine related to the Wuhan Virus due to “safety concerns.” So, now this tool of China that helped create this global pandemic through its fealty to ChiCom talking points is now pulling rank political stunts to try to influence the U.S. election.

The Trump Administration should respond by challenging the WHO to show the world the mass graves of lupus and malaria patients who have been successfully and safely using hydroxychloroquine under doctor supervision for over 60 years. After all, if this drug is so dangerous and filled with harmful side effects, there must be thousands, if not millions, of global deaths that can be attributed to it.

Just one more reason to cut the WHO off entirely.

Now you know why President Donald Trump refuses to wear a mask in public. – Creepy Uncle Quid Pro China Joe Biden was helped up out of his basement and dressed by his handlers so that he could make his first public appearance in almost three months. This is what it looked like:

There is no truth to the rumor that, after the Unfrozen Caveman Presumptive Nominee saw his shadow, he scurried back to his basement to wait out 6 more weeks of winter. Although it wouldn’t be surprising, would it?

Paging Governor Greg Abbott…time to call the President…Paging Governor Abbott… – President Trump tweeted his growing concerns about the fact that Democrat North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper is continuing to drag out his state’s reopening process for purely political reasons – which are in fact the only reasons to continue doing this at this point.

With the Republican National Convention scheduled to take place in Charlotte in August, the President warned Gov. Cooper that his recalcitrance could force the RNC to find a different city that is actually interested in the hundreds of millions of dollars in economic impact the convention would bring. Cooper responded that he would “continue to rely on data and science” in making his decisions.

Well, if that’s the case, then this should be no problem, since there is literally no data or science that indicates these continuing Democrat lockdowns are having any positive impact whatsoever on the Wuhan Virus.

But hey, if Cooper doesn’t want the Republicans coming to town, the red states of Texas and Florida have plenty of cities that could handle the convention. In Texas, Governor Abbott would probably get pushback from the Democrat mayors in Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio, but the City of Fort Worth (the 13th largest city in the U.S., larger than Charlotte) has a great GOP Mayor named Betsy Price, who we can be sure would welcome such a major convention to her city with open arms.

And if Texas can’t swing the deal, there’s always Florida, where Governor Ron DeSantis just flat-out gets stuff done. There’s plenty of green grass outside of North Carolina.

And besides, the data and science show that being in a blue state is definitely, without any doubt at all, hazardous to your health:

C’mon to Forth Worth, y’all!

All the “Karens” out there are wondering if the killers were practicing social distancing and wearing their masks. – 36 people were shot and 9 killed in Chicago over the weekend. In response to all the mayhem, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot naturally focused her police efforts on raiding a southside Black church and shutting down its worship service. I swear I do not make this stuff up. Who could?

Speaking of church… – It’s now official: The Church of CoronaPanic is the new religious cult for those on the political left. Check out this clip of a gang of faithful “Karens” encircling a heretical non-masker in a grocery store and screaming at her until she flees the facility:

Note that the Church of CoronaPanic faithful are becoming increasingly shrill and aggressive as the Wuhan Virus fades from the scene. This is exactly what we have seen from the Church of Global Warming, which simply doubles down on more and increasingly goofy fright scenarios each time one of their absurd model projections fails to materialize in the real world.

And just as with the Climate Alarm religion, this is an entirely political phenomenon. If you could do a poll among the Church of CoronaPanic cult, you would find near-universal fealty to the Democrat Party. These are almost entirely people who spend every waking hour obtaining their talking points from talking heads on CNN or the Perpetual Outrage Mob on Twitter. They have no real life or religion, so the media-induced panic over the Wuhan Virus has quite literally become their life.

So expect to see many more scenes such as this one played out all over America as the viral gift from China continues to subside with the warming weather, people return to their jobs, businesses continue to reopen and the “Karens” see the foundation of their religion fading away. The Corona may be fading, but the CoronaPanic has just begun.

That is all.

Hydroxychloroquine: A Texas Family Doc Debunks Democrat/Media HCQ Myths

Guest Piece by Dr. A.B. Spence, MD

Subject: Hydroxychloroquine and the curious case of it becoming dangerous

I’m a retired (on October 1, 2019) Family Practitioner with 40 years of experience on what is now called the front lines of medical practice. I never considered myself a warrior or hero during the flu seasons, including the H1N1 epidemic, but I’m fine and dandy with those terms being used to describe my colleagues and all the other medical staff and personnel that are confronting this awful Chinese virus daily since it was unleashed on our shores a few months ago.

At age 70 and with what I suppose is a comorbidity of rheumatoid arthritis and taking the miracle drug Humira, an immunosuppressant, if I were still in practice at this time I would unquestionably be taking Hydroxychloroquine as a prophylactic measure. There is anecdotal evidence that it can help resist or prevent the spread of Covid 19, and in many cases it has been shown to successfully treat Covid patients. It’s also one of the safest prescribed medications a person can take.

At least it was prior to President Trump expressing hope a couple of months ago that it could be helpful in treating Covid 19. Then it became a dangerous drug, poisonous, that would kill a lot of people with cardiac arrhythmias or whatever. And as proof the media told us about an old fella that died after guzzling an industrial fish tank cleaner that contained chloroquine as an ingredient. Somewhere Darwin simply smiled knowingly on that report.

As I researched hydroxychloroquine in the early days of the pandemic, I couldn’t find one documented case of a person dying from a cardiac arrhythmia. And this covered over 60 years of the drug being used as a treatment of and prophylaxis against malaria, both short term and long term usage. All of you reading this know of the millions of dosages given to certain people with autoimmune diseases that successfully take HCQ with no untoward reactions.

The word “anecdotal”, as it applied to Hydroxychloroquine, took on a different meaning also. In this case it is used in a demeaning manner as it wasn’t “science.” It hasn’t been proven to be effective without a shadow of doubt. No double blind or whatever studies have been done with HCQ to prove it’s 100% effective in dealing with Chinese virus. And on and on.

I can assure you that the medical profession has prescribed drugs and therapies forever based on anecdotal evidence that suggest off label treatments may be helpful for certain diseases. Most or possibly all with greater risk versus benefit profiles than HCQ and Corona Virus.

And if you think about it, the country’s entire response to the Chinese virus, the lockdowns, the masks, the gloves, the fear of contaminated surfaces, the social distancing, the closing of “nonessential” businesses, the disastrous school closings, the destruction of our best ever economy, the slaughter of thousands of our most frail senior citizens in nursing homes by certain Democrat governors (I’m looking at you Cuomo and Murphy) have been and continue to be based on anecdotal evidence of how the virus spreads, who is most at risk, how to treat it, etc. In these instances it’s referred to as “science.”

Every time I hear a leftist power hungry governor, mayor, judge, representative, senator, or medical bureaucrat say they’re going to “follow the science” to keep ruining our economy I want to vomit.

With that I I’ll stop. Feeling a bit nauseous.

A. B. Spence, M.D.

Hydroxychloroquine Hypocrisy: Kayleigh McEnany Exposes Fredo Cuomo

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany is so adept at dealing with the corrupt press corps that I’m almost glad she’s started holding occasional press briefings again. Almost.

It seems that every time she holds one of these things she exposes the members of the press for being the rank hypocrites we all know them to be. Yesterday, she figuratively ripped the pants right off of CNN’s doofus evening host Fredo Cuomo because … wait for it … he used a more dangerous form of hydroxychloroquine than President Trump has been using.

In treatment for his own alleged case of Wuhan Virus, it turns out that Fredo actually took quinine, which, as McEnany devastatingly revealed at yesterday’s presser, was taken off the market by the FDA in 2006 due to its severe side effects.

Here’s a clip of Kayleigh addressing the HCQ question and Fredo:

Here is an excerpt from McEnany’s remarks:

And one thing I want to note with regard to hydroxychloroquine, because I think it’s very important that we’re as accurate as we can be with our reporting on this: Hydroxychloroquine has been a drug that has been in use for 65 years for lupus, arthritis, and malaria.  It has a very good safety profile.

But as with any drug and as with any prescription, it should be given by a doctor to a patient in that context.  So no one should be taking this without a prescription from their doctor.

But that being said, I’ve seen a lot of apoplectic coverage of hydroxychloroquine.  You had Jimmy Kimmel saying the President is, quote, “trying to kill himself by taking it.”  You had Joe Scarborough saying, quote, “This will kill you.”  Neil Cavuto saying, “What have you got to lose?  One thing you have to lose are lives.”  And you had Chris Cuomo saying, “The President knows that hydroxychloroquine is not supported by science.  He knows it has been flagged by his own people and he’s using it.”

Well, Cuomo mocked the President for this.  And interestingly, I found this out just before coming here: Hydroxychloroquine, of course, is an FDA-approved medication with a long-proven track record for safety.  And it turns out that Chris Cuomo took a less safe version of it called quinine, which the FDA removed from the market in 2006 because of its serious side effects, including death.  So, really interesting to have that criticism of the President.

And on that note to Chris Cuomo, I’d like to redirect him to his brother, the Governor of New York, Governor Cuomo, who has several on-the-record statements about hydroxychloroquine, saying, “I’m an optimist.  I’m hopeful about the drug, and that’s why we’ll try it here in New York as soon as we get it.  There has been anecdotal evidence that it’s promising.  That’s why we’re going ahead.”  And I have about eight other quotes from Governor Cuomo should any of you have interest in that.

[End]

No one in the corrupt press corps was interested, of course. These are the most incurious people on earth. Your average Waffle House pancake possesses a keener sense of curiosity than the average reporter for the Washington Post.

Just in case you were beginning to think that anyone in the corrupt fake news media really holds any genuine concerns about HCQ, know that not a single one of the blue-check media hypocrites on Twitter tweeted a word of condemnation of Cuomo over his rank hypocrisy. As is always the case with corrupt reporters and the President, this is all about Trump and trying to “get” him. If Trump recommends something, or is taking some drug, it must be bad – that’s what the approved Democrat/media narrative dictates.

Yes, as both the President and McEnany have pointed out, HCQ can have severe side effects with certain patients, and should be taken only on the advice of a physician. That makes HCQ exactly like every other drug on the market today.

And guess what? When Remdesivir, which has been approved for emergency use by the FDA before going through full clinical trials, has been fully studied, it will have its own long list of side effects, as will any other hugely-expensive new drug developed by Big Pharma in response to the virus.

They all will soon be featured in those touchy-feely 90-second TV ads that feature soft music and 75 seconds of legal disclaimers. The guy who narrates those disclaimers will talk about all sorts of potential side effects, including death, as some chubby woman conducts a marching band or an elderly couple does yoga or looks peacefully out over a lake in the background to make you feel good and not listen to all the harm this drug might cause you if you take it.

All drugs have potential side effects, and HCQ is no different. The only two differences between HCQ and the drugs Big Pharma is developing and planning to make billions on are: 1) The side effects of HCQ are well-known and have been for decades, and 2) President Trump recommends HCQ.

That’s it, and that’s what Kayleigh McEnany revealed yesterday.

Watch: Neil Cavuto Gets the Vapors on News Trump is Taking Hydroxychloroquine

The Evening Campaign Update

I laughed out loud while watching President Donald Trump inform the news media in a very offhand manner today that he has been taking hydroxychloroquine – in conjunction with azithromycin and zinc – for “a week and a half” during a press availability at the White House today. You could literally feel the reporters in the room gasp in unison and almost go out of their minds at the notion that the President of the United States is using this safe, effective, cheap and plentiful drug as a prophylaxis against the Wuhan virus. He just tossed it out there like he was ordering dinner – it was a truly glorious moment.

Here’s a clip:

No corrupt journalist on any network went crazier, though, than drama queen Neil Cavuto, who happened to be on the air when the President was toying with the White House press corps like my cat Max toys with lizards every day. After warning his viewers in a shaky voice reminiscent of Christine Blasey Ford’s mimicking of a teenage valley girl during her smear of Brett Kavanaugh that the drug “will kill you” if you have certain underlying conditions, Cavuto then went on to interview several people. One of them – Fox medical contributor Dr. Janette Nesheiwat, correctly informed him and his viewers that the drug can be “lifesaving” for certain patients who do not have those underlying conditions.

Watch Cavuto’s face fall and then try to cut her off as she delivers the news he most certainly did not want to hear:

This is crap that belongs on CNN, but it airs on Fox News every day at 3:00 CT. Maddening.

NIH Pans Hydroxychloroquine, Sets Up Multiple New Media Narratives

The Mid-Day Campaign Update

Yet another highly-predictable outcome. – Late Tuesday, a panel of “experts” – the same kind of “experts” who assured us just a month ago that the Wuhan Virus would kill 2 million Americans – announced their disapproval for hydroxychloroquine in combination with axithromycin as a treatment for the Wuhan Virus.

Here’s an excerpt from an NPR report on the matter:

A panel of experts convened by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases recommends against doctors using a combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin for the treatment of COVID-19 patients because of potential toxicities.

“The combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin was associated with QTc prolongation in patients with COVID-19,” the panel said.

QTc prolongation increases the risk of sudden cardiac death.

The recommendation against their combined use would seem to fly in the face of comments made by President Trump suggesting the combination might be helpful. On March 21, for example, the president described them in a tweet as having a “real chance to be one of the biggest game changers in the history of medicine.”

In English, the QTc prolongation means that HCQ can be dangerous for people who suffer from irregular heartbeats, an affliction most common among seniors, who are already vulnerable to the virus. This is in fact a long-known side effect of HCQ.

Note especially the narrative laid out in that last paragraph, which sets up a conflict between President Trump and Dr. Anthony Fauci, whose NIAID is one of 27 institutes and centers under the NIH umbrella. Note also that this NIH panning of HCQ comes despite wildly successful trials in both the U.S. and other countries, as well as several peer-reviewed studies that have shown it to be very effective mainly in combination with zinc, not axithromycin, in treating the Chinese plague. The NIH decision also ignores the fact that many doctors have successfully used HCQ as a prophylactic treatment against the virus.

This decision will now also make many doctors less willing to prescribe HCQ in any combination with other medications for fear of being chastised and perhaps sued for straying from NIH edicts.

Finally, because of information that has come to light that the Wuhan Virus is having a disproportionate impact on blacks, Hispanics and other minorities for a variety of factors, the NIH edict sets up another narrative that will contend  that, by promoting the use of HCQ as a potential game-changer, the Bad Orange Man was being a racist.

As we have pointed out before, there are many billions of dollars at stake here. Because HCQ is cheap and in plentiful supply, there is no real money to be made through it by big Pharma or its beneficiaries at the NIH. A cheap, effective and plentiful treatment for the virus also diminishes the value of any vaccine that comes along, and we would be remiss if we failed to point out the NIH’s long association with and benefit from Bill Gates and the Gates Foundation.

Expect the President to get into heated exchanges with multiple Democrat activists disguised as “reporters” at tonight’s press conference. It’s inevitable.

That is all.

Fauci’s Shady History With Hydroxychloroquine, Vaccines

The Mid-day Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Doesn’t Break for Lunch)

Frequent commenters Jimmy McAfee, Phineas Gage (a pseudonym), and Gregg Updike put up a series of posts this morning detailing Dr. Anthony Fauci’s amazing inconsistency on the efficacy of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) as an effective treatment for viruses, and his record of miserable failure when it comes to development of vaccines. With Dr. Fauci continuing to poo-pooh HCQ, in combination with azithromycin, as an effective treatment for the Wuhan Virus, and his boosting of a “vaccine” as the only way out of this mess, these walks through his history on those two subjects become especially compelling.

Given that, I am reproducing the contributions by McAfee and Gage here in full, to maximize their readership.

First, Jimmy McAfee on Fauci and HCQ:

The best reason of all to fire Fauci:

“After President Donald Trump mentioned during a recent press conference the potential benefits of hydroxychloroquine for treating the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19), Anthony Fauci from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) quickly piped in that the remedy supposedly isn’t proven, and that people shouldn’t think of it as a “knockout drug.” So why, then, did he praise this very same drug back in 2013 as a treatment for the MERS coronavirus, a relative of COVID-19?

On the use of hydroxychloroquine, he “jumped at the chance to praise the discovery, announcing that it was “particularly encouraging” because these drugs are “widely available,” meaning they can get into the hands of people who need them quickly and easily.”‘

“However, now that Trump and his administration are in charge, Fauci is singing a much different tune. Rather than express enthusiasm for the many cases of the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) that have already been successfully treated with hydroxychloroquine, Fauci felt the need to throw a wet blanket over the whole thing and override Trump’s announcement in a stunning display of disrespect.

“You’ve got to be careful when you say ‘fairly effective,’” Fauci shot back at Trump after the president suggested, based on Fauci’s own statements from seven years ago, that hydroxychloroquine demonstrated effectiveness against SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome). “It was never done in a clinical trial that compared it to anything. It was given to individuals and felt that maybe it worked.”’

So why did Dr. Fauci love hydroxychloroquine under Obama, during MERS (another coronavirus) and say so because it was cheap, available and relatively benign and very hopeful, and now whizz all over the use of it now for this coronavirus, when it is still cheap, available (less so because of demand) and relatively benign and very hopeful? Why take away hope when the virus we face is arguably far more lethal than the MERS virus?

Someone should ask the diminutive Dr.

Resign, Dr. Fauci. But not before answering the bloody question.

And here is Phineas Gage on Dr. Fauci’s miserable failure over 40 years of “leading” the effort to develop a vaccine for HIV:

Like so many Democrat bureaucrats, Fauci has failed his way to the top, from HIV to H1N1 to this. Wrong every step of the way. And not just missing by a bit, but wildly off-target. And for this he is rewarded.

Vaccine development for highly mutable viruses is difficult at best. Ultimately, the best cure for a virus remains the remarkable human immune system. It’s why elderly and other immunocompromised individuals are the high-mortality group.

As it seems likely that this virus accidentally got out of the Wuhan lab, what should concern everyone is what else is being produced in those labs that might eventually be released in a deliberate manner. For example, there is much speculation and some evidence that the Chinese have engineered a ‘Captain-Trips’ super-flu.

From Gregg Updike on the same subject:

The good Dr. Anthony Fauci has been in charge of the effort by the CDC to find a vaccine for HIV/AIDS for close to forty years and hasn’t found one. I’m not saying finding a HIV/AIDS vaccine is easy, but this man’s myopia is breath-taking! Remember, people like him were predicting that AIDS was going to spread like wildfire and it was going to be devastating – especially when Republicans (Reagan and Bush Sr) were in the White House. When Bill Clinton and ‘the One’ occupied it; not so much – the AIDS ‘crisis’ just sort of faded away. Instead we found effective treatments for HIV/AIDS – but no vaccine.

HCQ combined with other medications seems to be able to meet that need.

Dr. Anthony Vaccine, and Dr. Deborah Social Distancing, need to go, plain and simple! While I am not totally against developing a safe, effective, inexpensive vaccine for the CHINA virus, I’m not holding my breath and neither should Trump or the country.

Speaking of vaccines: Vaccines are generally a one time deal with occasional booster shots given many years apart. Our ‘recommended’ (30-40% effective) annual flu shots are just that, shots, and not vaccines per se. It seems highly doubtful that the ‘experts’ at the CDC will be capable of producing a one-time long-lasting ‘vaccine’ for THIS CHINA virus, and certainly not for the likely different strains that will continue to be developed by our adversaries.

More likely, it will be an annual shot with a similar 30-40% effectiveness.

[End]

So, to summarize the inconsistent and obviously politically-motivated record of Dr. Fauci:

– When a Democrat is in the White House, HCQ is something of a miracle drug for treating viral outbreaks;

– When a Republican is in the White House, HCQ is unproven and something to be avoided in treating viral outbreaks;

– Dr. Fauci currently says we cannot return to our normal lives until a vaccine has been developed 12-18 months from now, but his record of abject failure related to the development of truly effective vaccines over the span of the last 40 years clearly demonstrates that we should run away from this notion as fast as humanly possible.

Bottom line, Anthony Fauci is a man who should be treated with extreme skepticism by all thinking people.

That is all.
