Removing Everyone Named Vindman From the NSC is a Good Start

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Capping off one of the most incredible weeks of uniterrupted WINNING in U.S. presidential history, both Vindman brothers serving as anti-Trump spies at the National Security Council and smarmy Ambassador to the EU Gordan Sondland were removed from their respective posts late Friday. Very predictably, leftists, #nevertrump nitwits and their corrupt media toadies went absolutely nuts in response, especially over the dismissal of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the guy who played such a crucial role in dummying up the fake impeachment scam through which the Democrats have held our country hostage for the last 5 months.

This, of course, is absurd. Vindman has proven himself to be disloyal and a leaker of classified information, and any POTUS has an absolute right to be advised by people who he can rely on. After the events of the last 5 months, there is no way on earth President Trump should ever trust a word of advice or information from Alexander Vindman or his brother.

Leftists and corrupt reporters have tried to make a big deal of the fact that the twins were escorted off the White House grounds by security personnel, but that’s also absurd. Any key employee of any corporation in America gets the same treatment when they leave the company, whether they were fired or simply resigned. It’s done to protect both the company and the employee. With the Vindmans, it was also utterly necessary in order to ensure they didn’t attempt to take any classified information with them.

Although they were escorted off of the White House grounds by security personnel, both Vindman brothers, as employees of the U.S. military, were simply detailed back to their prior postings, where they will remain gainfully employed at the expense of the U.S. taxpayers unless and until either the Pentagon or the Department of Justice decides to prosecute them for their crimes. As I detailed way back in October, here are the reasons why Alexander Vindman richly deserves to be investigated and potentially prosecuted:

– While serving at the NSC, he had numerous contacts with foreign agents, including the very sketchy attorney Marcus Cohen, who poured hundreds of thousands of dollars into the campaign of now-Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, in the hopes of being appointed to a high-level position within his administration.

– While Vindman’s military service is honorable, in testifying on Tuesday he was disobeying a direct order from his Commander-in-Chief. That is not honorable.

– During his testimony, Adam Schiff directed Vindman to refuse to answer questions from Republican members of the committee in order to protect Vindman from incriminating himself. Again, exactly the sort of stuff we regularly see taking place in banana republic coup d’etat efforts.

– Also during his testimony, Vindman apparently admitted to leaking the contents of the President’s classified call to several people, almost certainly a crime.

– The questions Schiff was most concerned about had to do with the identities of the people to whom Vindman had leaked the contents of the call. Again, most likely a felony under U.S. law.

– Despite the clear admission in his published opening statement that the published transcript of the call is accurate, Vindman also testified that he had actually made efforts to force changes to be made to the transcript in order to better fit his and Schiff’s narrative.

But there’s still more. Vindman’s boss at the NSC, Timothy Morrison, testified that Vindman regularly went outside the chain of command within the NSC, and that he considered Vindman to be unreliable and a potential security risk. Vindman’s brother, Yevgeny, also apparently participated in the coup effort, and also richly deserves to be investigated for his actions.

Lt. Col. Vindman was supposedly the NSC’s top “expert” on Ukraine, yet his testimony revealed that his grasp on the details on U.S. policy towards Ukraine was spotty at best. Like so many others of the roughly 200 detailees sitting at the NSC today, Vindman is an Obama holdover, a plant sent there not to do the work of the current Administration, but to spy and leak and, as we have seen, attempt to overthrow the duly-elected government.

This is why National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien is about to clean house at the NSC, whose staff has grown from about 25 under George H.W. Bush to more than 200 today. O’Brien told a reporter last week that he may well cut the current staff in half in his efforts to clear out all the spies and leakers embedded there.

So, what do you call removing everyone named “Vindman” from the NSC? A good start. The removal of Sondland is a fine second step. The outright firing of Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson, who unilaterally changed the rules for whistleblower complaints under his purview in order to facilitate this coup attempt, would be a very fine third step. Many more firings should come after that.

But most important of all, the bad actors in this coup plot, including Alexander Vindman, Eric Ciaramella and all the rest of the diplomats and bureaucrats who participated in what clearly was a conspiracy to bring down a President, must be prosecuted.

This two-tiered system of justice must end.

That is all.

UPDATE: Oh, hey, guess who Alexander Vindman’s lawyer is? Mark S. Zaid. That would be the same Mark Zaid who also represents…wait for it…Eric Ciaramella! The same Mark Zaid who way back in early 2017 tweeted “The coup has started!” That Mark Zaid. Here’s what this despicable lawyer tweeted in the wake of Vindman’s removal from the White House:

Note the hashtag at the end: #ProtectAllWhistleblowers. Here is Vindman’s own lawyer admitting that his client is indeed the infamous “second whistleblower” whose complaint was used by the Democrats in dummying up their impeachment/coup scam.

Time for some tribunals, folks.

The Deep State Keeps Revealing Its Ugly Face And The Public Doesn’t Like It

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Polling support for impeachment of President Donald Trump is plummeting, and there is a clear reason why that’s the case. – Nate Silver’s 538 crew has a new report out today about the crashing support for the Democrat impeachment circus. While support remains strong among the Democrats’ demented voter base – which is always, consistently oversampled in these polls by about 10% – it is crashing and burning among independent voters, who have watched Adam Schiff’s clown-show public hearings and didn’t like what they’ve seen.

What did they see in those hearings? They saw a pack of members of America’s diplomatic corps, whining and complaining that the President of the United States was not following the dictates of foreign policy as implemented by the President’s globalist predecessors in office. They saw a bunch of hacks whose loyalties lie less with the American people than with the corruptocrats and oligarchs who control the Ukraine, and who appear to have worked against the interests of the country’s new reformist president, Volodymyr Zelensky.

Deep State skunks helping Deep State skunks, as it were.

The public was also treated to the spectacle of a classic Deep State plant at the National Security Council, a preening, self-aggrandizing anti-Trump Lt. Colonel named Alexander Vindman. Vindman spent his time at the witness table obviously prevaricating and deflecting in order to construct damaging testimony against his Commander-in-Chief. Equally as repulsive and revealing was Vindman’s demand at one point that the Committee’s ranking minority member, Devin Nunes, address him by his military rank rather than respectfully as “Mr. Vindman.”

Add to all that the clownish Ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland, a Jeb! Bush supporter who bought his ambassadorship in the grand DC Swamp tradition. Then toss in the fact that the only two witnesses who clearly weren’t Deep State hacks, Kurt Volker and Tim Morrison – who had been Vindman’s manager at the NSC – had already basically been run out of the diplomatic corps, and the picture presented to the public was one of rampant disloyalty, clownish jealousy and corruption. In other words, just like the public saw at the Department of Justice, pre-William Barr, and still sees at the FBI and in the nation’s intelligence community.

In the days since the public impeachment circus left on its long Thanksgiving holiday recess, the public has been treated to the next episode of the Deep State unmasking itself, this time at the Department of the Navy in the Eddie Gallagher affair, which the Campaign Update chronicled in two separate posts on Sunday. There we found the repulsive spectacle of senior officials at the Pentagon openly defying the clear orders of the Commander-in-Chief, and outright threatening him in the public space.

As repeatedly noted here, Barack Obama spent his 8 years in office in a continuous effort to utterly corrupt every agency, bureau, commission and committee of the federal government, and was very successful in doing so. But this weekend’s shenanigans, which culminated – at least for now – in the unceremonious firing of Navy Secretary Richard Spencer, likely represent the first time that millions of ordinary Americans learned that the corruption is so deeply integrated within our military leadership.

Sadly, the purging of the Swamp snakes at the Pentagon should not end with Spencer. The Commander of the Navy Seals, Admiral Collin Green, engaged in the same defiant behavior as Spencer, and Rear Admiral Charlie Brown, the Navy’s Chief of Information, issued the following statement in the midst of the dustup:

“The Navy follows the lawful orders of the President. We will do so in case of an order to stop the administrative review of SOC Gallagher’s professional qualification. We are aware of the President’s tweet and we are awaiting further guidance.”

The clear implication in that statement is that the President’s tweet ordering the Navy to disband its review board against Gallagher did not amount to a “lawful order.” Which is outrageous. The Commander-in-Chief just issued a pardon to Gallagher a few weeks ago, making his wishes on this matter clearly obvious to everyone.

Spencer claimed on Saturday that he did not consider a tweet to be a “formal order,” but the CinC can make his wishes known in whatever form of communication he prefers. For Spencer and the rest of the Navy brass to convene a review panel to question Gallagher’s status after the President’s pardon was rank insubordination. The pretense that the President’s tweet somehow does not constitute a lawful order borders on open sedition.

As Kurt Schlichter advocates in a great piece on all of this at Townhall.com:

Fire them all.

Then fire their bosses for not having fired them already by the time the president got around to it. And fire their bosses. Fire the whole chain of command and order them all to retire.

Open defiance of the Commander-in-Chief and the sarcastic questioning of his authority in official statements is simply an intolerable situation. The Navy needs a good purging, if for no other reason than to set a good example for the leadership of the other branches of the armed forces.

The good part of all of this is that, the more these Deep State skunks and snakes unmask themselves, the more repulsed the public is by their actions. It has been a really bad couple of weeks for the denizens of the DC Swamp.

That is all.

Dear Gordon Sondland: “Assume” Makes an “ASS” out of “U” and “ME”

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Ok, so now we’re supposed to impeach a sitting President of the United States based not just on hearsay and rank gossip, but on what Gordon Sondland assumed. And thus, the dumbest impeachment effort in the history of the known universe continues apace.

Ambassador Sondland gave us a 45 minute opening statement this morning, longer even than the mind-numbing long and winding road of hearsay and gossip delivered by Bill Taylor a week ago. During that opening statement, the self-serving Sondland threw literally everyone involved in this entire Ukrainian fake controversy under the bus. He did his best to leave behind a trail of dead bodies including Rudy Giuliani, Kurt Volker, Taylor, the dapper dandy George Kent, Alexander Vindman, Marie Yovanovitch, Jennifer Williams, Tim Morrison, the garbage man, the mail carrier, the pest control guy, the plumber, the White House chef, Ivanka Trump’s seamstress and, of course, his main target, the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.

Sondland wove a tail in which he assumed that, whenever anyone mentioned the word “Burisma” – the corrupt Ukrainian gas company that has been the central player in so much graft, bribery and influence peddling with various U.S. players – they actually were saying “Joe and Hunter Biden.” This latest Deep State fantasy play included the theme that everyone involved “knew” there was a “quid pro quo” in which the Ukrainian government either had to open investigations into the rank influence peddling engaged in by Joe and Hunter Biden during the Obama years or they would never get congressionally-authorized U.S. economic and military aid.

It was a wonderful tale, a tale whose plot almost made Adam Schiff’s bug-eyes plop right out onto the hearing room carpet at various points, a plot so stupendous and seemingly evil that, after his 45-minute questioning of Sondland, Schiff could no longer contain himself and called a “bathroom break” so he could rush out into the hall and hold a press conference. Alas, it was all for naught at the end of the day.

See, Sondland’s tall, self-serving tale had one inconvenient plot twist, and it turned out to be the part that he left out of it. That plot twist, as coaxed out of the dissembling Ambassador to the EU (what a perfect job for this quisling fool to be in, hobnobbing and partying with the quisling fools of Europe) by Ohio congressman Michael Turner, is that, in the only conversation Sondland actually had with President Trump on this whole “quid pro quo” nonsense, the President told Sondland not once, but twice, “I want nothing! I want no Quid Pro Quo!”

Oh. Schiff’s bugeyes sank deeply into his tiny cerebral cortex when Sondland had to admit to that. Here’s the clip:

Turner: Answer the question – no one on this planet told you that Trump was tying this aid to the investigations. Because if your answer is yes, then the chairman is wrong and the headline on CNN is wrong. No one on this planet  told you that President Trump was tying aid to investigations, yes or no.

Sondland: Yes.

Oh.

Early in my professional career I had a very smart boss who taught me a very important lesson. When I had failed to carry out a task and he asked me why that had happened, I told him that I had assumed another person on our team was going to do it.

He smiled and asked, you know what “assume” does, don’t you? When I said no, he said, “assume” makes an “ass” out of “u” and “me.” Don’t assume anything – if you aren’t sure, ask.

Obviously, Gordon Sondland never had a smart and kind boss who was willing to teach him that very important life lesson. Even more disturbing, Sondland decided to cling to his assumption even after his current boss, the President of the United States of America, personally informed him that his assumption was wrong.

This is the kind of self-serving fool who permeates our diplomatic corps and the rest of our federal bureaucracy, the sort of jackass President Trump was elected to get rid of. Sadly, Mr. Trump has no one to blame for Sondland but himself, since he appointed the slug to his ambassadorship.

No time like the present to correct that enormous judgment error.

Some clips from the hearing for those who missed it.
