Horowitz Report Delayed Again? What a Shock. Not.

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

In case you missed it, the report from DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s FISA abuse investigation is being delayed. Yet again. For the, what, 100th time?

News of the latest delay came from Maria Bartiromo, host on Fox News’s “Mornings With Maria,” who had previously reported on her program last week that the report would be released this Friday:

“Classifications being made.” Well, we all know what that means in the lingo of the apparently hopelessly-corrupt Department of Justice these days, right? Whenever we do see this report, it will be filled with entire passages completely black out, and those will in all likelihood be the most crucial passages that would implicate the actual bad actors in the 2016-17 election fixing/coup effort.

So, every time you get to thinking that maybe, just maybe, Attorney General William Barr and U.S. Attorney John Durham might actually be making some progress and doing something real in their own investigation into the origins of the election fixing/coup d’etat plot, you get a countervailing event that shows you nothing much has changed at the Department of [No] Justice. Let’s all remember that this past May, President Donald Trump gave Mr. Barr full discretion on the determination of what information related to these unending efforts to change the results of the 2016 elections should and should not be classified. Thus, if we are now having another two-week delay in the issuance of the Horowitz Report, it is completely at Barr’s discretion.

Speaking on Sean Hannity’s show Monday night, former Utah Congressman Jason Chaffetz said that the interminable delays are the result of “intra-agency debate, and really a food fight” over classification issues, further saying that he’s being told that up to 10-20% of the full report – which Bartiromo claims is massive – will end up being blacked out. Chaffetz reminded Hannity that just 7 WORDS had been black out in Horowitz’s previous report.

Oh. So, nothing at DOJ has really changed since 2016, right?

But it gets even worse, according to Chaffetz. Fast forward to 3:35 of the clip below and listen to what he says about worthless FBI Apparatchik Christopher Wray:

For those of you who still like to read stuff, here’s a partial transcript of the key 15 seconds:

Hannity: Who is asking for the redactions? Is that Director Wray?

Chaffetz: I have not seen any evidence that Director Wray has been cooperative, but I think you’re also talking about other agencies, perhaps the CIA, the NSA, there are others. I think Mr. Clapper, Mr. Brennan are fighting behind the scenes as best they can, in front of the camera they’re fighting as best they can.

This is disgusting. It’s an ongoing national disgrace. And it’s apparently never going to end.

Another very interesting piece of that clip comes just a few seconds into the video, when Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz acknowledges that he was kicked out of a House Intelligence Committee witness deposition by Chairman Adam Schiff yesterday. Kicked out.

Imagine – just try to imagine – the uproar we would be seeing in our fake news media this morning had Republican Chairman Devin Nunes kicked Schiff out of a formal committee meeting during 2017-18. You would think the world was coming to an end.

This is real, true Nazi stuff, folks. The majority party is now so all-consumed with power that is denying the minority party members any and all rights to participate in this fake impeachment process.

And it’s all being enabled by your fake news media. Why?  Because they’re complicit, too. Never forget that part.

Have a great day, if you can.

That is all.

Trey Gowdy Warns Us Not To Expect Any BOOM From The Horowitz FISA Report

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

In case you missed it, plodding, thus-far-inept DOJ IG Michael Horowitz sent a letter to congress yesterday notifying key committee chairs that he has finally, at long last, completed the initial draft if his eons-awaited report on FISA abuse. The report now goes to Attorney General William Barr and swamp rat FBI Director Christopher Wray to begin the internal review process. That process will likely consume another month or so, maybe even longer, before the public will finally, at long last, be able to see the fruits of Horowitz’s glacially-paced labors.

This, of course will set the stage for all manner of leaking and self-puffery by the subjects of the IG’s report, including John Brennan, James Comey, James Clapper, Peter Strzok and Andrew McCabe, to name just a few of the Usual Suspects who the public record already available clearly demonstrates defrauded the FISA court repeatedly during 2016-17.

It also sets the stage for wild anticipation and irrational optimism among Trump supporters who have been paying attention to all of this that Horowitz is somehow about to deliver the goods on all the participants in the Obama DOJ/FBI Cabal, the foundation that will result in all of them being tried for treason and shipped off to prison for the rest of their lives.

Like clockwork, former prosecutor and ex-congressman Trey Gowdy appeared on Sean Hannity’s show last night to caution everyone to cool your heels and tamp down your expectations. Below is a video clip of that appearance, with a partial transcript to follow:

Here’s a partial transcript for those of you who still like to read stuff:

Gowdy: “It’s hard to convince 12 people of anything – I used to have to do that for a living. It’s tough. You’ve gotta dot every I and cross every T.

“Candidly, it is more difficult if it is a high-profile defendant. So, if they go forward with McCabe, it’s going to be a tough trial. You don’t want the U.S. government going to trial and losing on a regular basis. They lost the Greg Craig case, and that’s not good. If you’re going to go to trial, you need to win.”

Hannity shifts the subject to the IG Report producing indictments:

Gowdy: “You have to find a criminal statute if your objective is indictment. That is why I’m very clear every time I appear on your show that we cannot live in a society where an indictment is the only thing that carries any stigma [valid point there –  more on that at the bottom of this piece].

“Most of the names in this FISA abuse process have already been fired or publicly called to task. Jim Comey, twice now, the IG said ‘you did not meet our expectations. You failed to follow policy. You violated your employment agreement.’ All of that has to be significant.

“I used to try to make representations in court, and I tried real hard to be honest and fair about it. But let’s assume that I didn’t tell the court something. The remedy for me is not indictment. The remedy is I may lose my law license, I may be held in contempt.”

[Hannity interrupts, which is what he is good at, but makes a good point about the use of the unverified Dossier as the basis for the FISA warrants being a conscious fraud on the court, which it was. Repeatedly.]

Gowdy: “Well, if you were a lawyer, you’d lose your law license, and the court could hold you in contempt. You would be held in contempt of court, absolutely and you can go to jail for that. But I don’t know that lawyers who make factual misrepresentations in front of judges get indicted. You’re gonna get punished, you’re gonna be held in contempt, you may get sent to prison.

“I’m not minimizing anything they’ve done. I’m saying we’ve gotta attach the right punishment to the right offense.”

[Hannity visibly angry now: “But by signing that, they’re denying an American citizen their constitutional rights. They’re literally using that lie to spy on a presidential candidate, and then transition.”]

Gowdy: “Aha! We’ve identified a statute! Using the color of a government official – it could be a 1983 action. And that’s all I’m saying – we have gotta match up the conduct with an official code violation. What you just laid out is a 1983 violation.  Now, we’re getting somewhere!” [Note: U.S. Code Sec. 1983 allows prosecutors to pursue a civil action against anyone acting “under color of law” to deprive an American citizen of their civil rights. It is not a criminal statute.]

[Hannity: “I’ll send you Greg Jarrett’s list, he’s identified a whole bunch of violations.”]

Gowdy: “Don’t sent it to me, send it to Bill Barr.”

[Hannity dissembles about not knowing Barr. Interview ends.]

So, if you’ve been reading all those Twitter-based tick-tock conspiracy mongers and and watching Hannity air the same program every night for the last 18 months, leading you to believe the IG’s report was going to lower the BOOM on all the participants in the Obama Cabal, well, sorry. Trey Gowdy, a former prosecutor who never lost a case is here to tell you to dampen those expectations and go watch some football this weekend instead.

Finally, let’s review this passage of Gowdy’s comments:

“That is why I’m very clear every time I appear on your show that we cannot live in a society where an indictment is the only thing that carries any stigma [valid point there –  more on that at the bottom of this piece].

“Most of the names in this FISA abuse process have already been fired or publicly called to task. Jim Comey, twice now, the IG said ‘you did not meet our expectations. You failed to follow policy. You violated your employment agreement.’ All of that has to be significant.”

Of course, Gowdy’s absolutely right there. Public stigma used to be a vital aspect of punishing bad actors like the Cabal participants whenever the government couldn’t succeed in actually prosecuting them under criminal statutes.

The problem, though, is that that stigma no longer exists for anyone who is opposed to President Donald Trump. That stigma can only exist if our society has a real, working news media establishment that is willing to lay out the truth of their acts to the public and shame them for it. Our fake new media no longer serves that function related to anyone opposed to Trump. In fact, those bad actors are not only NOT shamed by the media, many of them are handsomely rewarded by the media with big “contributor” contracts. Witness Andrew McCabe, John Brennan, James Clapper as prime examples.

Peter Strzok and Comey were fired, but then were rewarded by the media with big book deals. Strzok and McCabe were both able to collect hundreds of thousands of dollars from demented leftists when they set-up online funds for their legal defense. On and on the depravity on the political left and in our fake news media goes.

So, while what Gowdy says there used to be correct in a U.S. society of decades ago, it is utterly irrelevant in today’s world. Absent indictments – or, as Gowdy repeatedly implies in this interview, being held in contempt by the FISA court and spending jail time for that – all of these co-conspirators will just keep laughing all the way to the bank with money largely provided them by our fake news media.

Sad, but true.

That is all.

Did the Whole Russia Collusion Fantasy Game Just Change?

The Evening Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Suddenly, starting over this past weekend, it’s beginning to feel like the tide of national events vis a vis the whole Democrat/Media Russia Collusion fantasy play has begun to turn.  So many key things have taken place since late last week that I’ll probably miss some of them, but I’ll give it a try:

Page Trumps Strzok – It all seems to have started with the closed-door deposition testimony by Super-Duper FBI Agent Peter Strzok’s ex-girlfriend, ex-DOJ lawyer Lisa Page, which took place on July 19-20.  According to GOP Rep. Mark Meadows and others who were present, Page was a far more credible witness than  her spawn of Satan ex-boyfriend, and her version of events differed significantly from the line of BS Strzok spewed during his testimony the previous week.  It’s key to note that no one in the media or the Democrat Party is demanding that the transcript of her testimony be made public.

Another Housecleaning at FBI – Also on July 19 came news that no fewer than three senior cyber-security officials at the FBI were announcing their “retirements” on the same day.  “What a coincidence!”, said the fake news media in unison.

The three “retiring” officials are  Scott Smith, Assistant Director over the FBI’s cyber division; David Resch, the executive assistant director of the Criminal, Cyber, Response and Services Branch; and Carl Ghattas, the executive assistant director of the National Security Branch.  Coming as they do in the wake of President Trump’s summit with Vladimir Putin and all the hysteria over supposed Russian threats to meddle in the mid-term elections, it seems highly unlikely these three departures are actually mere coincidence.  It all smells much more like a house-cleaning, similar to the one we saw during December last year, when Strzok, Page and Bruce Ohr were all demoted within days of one another.

FISA Abuse Exposed – Saturday, July 21, the Big Kahuna dropped, as Judicial Watch, having won a battle in federal court, released 412 pages of documents that form the basis for the FISA warrant and its three subsequent renewals that in turn formed the after-the-fact justification for the FBI/DOJ’s spying efforts on the Trump Campaign, Transition and Administration.  The documents were highly redacted – very predictably – but what wasn’t redacted was extremely revealing, proving that the FBI/DOJ anti-Trump cabal relied almost solely on the Fusion GPS fake Trump Dossier as its basis for defrauding the FISA Court and obtaining the warrant.

Trump Tweets – Meanwhile, President Trump himself was very busy on Twitter, and in thinking about the following tweets, it’s key to keep in mind that Trump knows everything that really happened, who did what, and has known all of this most likely since before he took office.  Here are some tweets that really stand out to me in this context:

Mind you, these first two tweets were issued before Judicial Watch dropped the FISA documents.  The key to me is the final sentence of the 2nd tweet:  “Republicans better get smart fast and expose what they are doing!”  The President doesn’t just burp these tweets out for no reason, and that sure seems like foreshadowing to me.

Then, after the Judicial Watch document dump, the President repeated the same theme in another pair of tweets:

“Republicans must get tough now.  An illegal Scam!”  More foreshadowing.

Some in congress are listening – Later on Sunday  morning, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte appeared on Fox News and made it clear to host Maria Bartiromo that he had heard the President’s message.  In that interview, Chairman Goodlatte “discusses John Brennan, James Comey, and Loretta Lynch being sought for questioning on their actions during the 2016 Presidential Election; as well as compliance responses from Peter Strzok, Rod Rosenstein and Lisa Page.”

An Uproar From The Amen Chorus – Throughout the last week, the cacophony of anti-Trump screeds coming from the Obama loyalist Amen Chorus has grown increasingly shrill.  This includes not just former officials in the Obama Administration, but their media collaborators as well.  With the Page testimony not going as they had hoped and the release of the FISA fraud documents, they all can now clearly see the walls beginning to close in.  The lashing out is a sign of desperation.

The desperation became even more clear on Monday, July 23, when Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ announcement that President Trump was considering revoking the security clearances of Brennan, Comey, Clapper, Rice, Hayden and McCabe elicited an audible gasp from the assembled preening peacocks-and-hens of the White House press corps.  Speaker Paul Ryan, himself an incurable creature of the DC Swamp, laughed the President’s threat off as a “trolling” exercise, but none of the six targets and their supporters in the fake news media were laughing at what was a clear signal from the White House that the game is about to change.

Hey, Mr. Speaker, if you want an example of a Trump Troll, here’s a hilarious (and true) one from earlier today:

Hey, Somebody Woke Up Sessions! – Finally, while the President’s “Republicans must get tough now” message was in part meant for Republicans in congress like Goodlatte, it also was likely a signal to Attorney General Jeff Sessions that it’s time to end his long seeming hibernation from the public eye.  And just like that, there was Sessions earlier today, addressing a high school leadership conference in Washington, DC, joining in with the chant of “lock her up, lock her up!” coming from the crowd.

Now, that could just be a coincidence, but have you ever, in the 17 months since he took office, seen AG Sessions participate in that kind of targeting at the Pantsuit Princess?  No?  Neither have I.

Look, all of the stuff I’ve laid out here could be just a grand, if highly unlikely, coincidence of events all pointing in the same direction.  But I don’t believe in coincidences and neither should you.

This sure feels like a turning to me.  The next few weeks could be a ton of fun.

That is all.
