Hydroxychloroquine Hypocrisy: Kayleigh McEnany Exposes Fredo Cuomo

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany is so adept at dealing with the corrupt press corps that I’m almost glad she’s started holding occasional press briefings again. Almost.

It seems that every time she holds one of these things she exposes the members of the press for being the rank hypocrites we all know them to be. Yesterday, she figuratively ripped the pants right off of CNN’s doofus evening host Fredo Cuomo because … wait for it … he used a more dangerous form of hydroxychloroquine than President Trump has been using.

In treatment for his own alleged case of Wuhan Virus, it turns out that Fredo actually took quinine, which, as McEnany devastatingly revealed at yesterday’s presser, was taken off the market by the FDA in 2006 due to its severe side effects.

Here’s a clip of Kayleigh addressing the HCQ question and Fredo:

Here is an excerpt from McEnany’s remarks:

And one thing I want to note with regard to hydroxychloroquine, because I think it’s very important that we’re as accurate as we can be with our reporting on this: Hydroxychloroquine has been a drug that has been in use for 65 years for lupus, arthritis, and malaria.  It has a very good safety profile.

But as with any drug and as with any prescription, it should be given by a doctor to a patient in that context.  So no one should be taking this without a prescription from their doctor.

But that being said, I’ve seen a lot of apoplectic coverage of hydroxychloroquine.  You had Jimmy Kimmel saying the President is, quote, “trying to kill himself by taking it.”  You had Joe Scarborough saying, quote, “This will kill you.”  Neil Cavuto saying, “What have you got to lose?  One thing you have to lose are lives.”  And you had Chris Cuomo saying, “The President knows that hydroxychloroquine is not supported by science.  He knows it has been flagged by his own people and he’s using it.”

Well, Cuomo mocked the President for this.  And interestingly, I found this out just before coming here: Hydroxychloroquine, of course, is an FDA-approved medication with a long-proven track record for safety.  And it turns out that Chris Cuomo took a less safe version of it called quinine, which the FDA removed from the market in 2006 because of its serious side effects, including death.  So, really interesting to have that criticism of the President.

And on that note to Chris Cuomo, I’d like to redirect him to his brother, the Governor of New York, Governor Cuomo, who has several on-the-record statements about hydroxychloroquine, saying, “I’m an optimist.  I’m hopeful about the drug, and that’s why we’ll try it here in New York as soon as we get it.  There has been anecdotal evidence that it’s promising.  That’s why we’re going ahead.”  And I have about eight other quotes from Governor Cuomo should any of you have interest in that.

[End]

No one in the corrupt press corps was interested, of course. These are the most incurious people on earth. Your average Waffle House pancake possesses a keener sense of curiosity than the average reporter for the Washington Post.

Just in case you were beginning to think that anyone in the corrupt fake news media really holds any genuine concerns about HCQ, know that not a single one of the blue-check media hypocrites on Twitter tweeted a word of condemnation of Cuomo over his rank hypocrisy. As is always the case with corrupt reporters and the President, this is all about Trump and trying to “get” him. If Trump recommends something, or is taking some drug, it must be bad – that’s what the approved Democrat/media narrative dictates.

Yes, as both the President and McEnany have pointed out, HCQ can have severe side effects with certain patients, and should be taken only on the advice of a physician. That makes HCQ exactly like every other drug on the market today.

And guess what? When Remdesivir, which has been approved for emergency use by the FDA before going through full clinical trials, has been fully studied, it will have its own long list of side effects, as will any other hugely-expensive new drug developed by Big Pharma in response to the virus.

They all will soon be featured in those touchy-feely 90-second TV ads that feature soft music and 75 seconds of legal disclaimers. The guy who narrates those disclaimers will talk about all sorts of potential side effects, including death, as some chubby woman conducts a marching band or an elderly couple does yoga or looks peacefully out over a lake in the background to make you feel good and not listen to all the harm this drug might cause you if you take it.

All drugs have potential side effects, and HCQ is no different. The only two differences between HCQ and the drugs Big Pharma is developing and planning to make billions on are: 1) The side effects of HCQ are well-known and have been for decades, and 2) President Trump recommends HCQ.

That’s it, and that’s what Kayleigh McEnany revealed yesterday.

New Data Points Devastate Democrat Coronapanic Arguments

The Evening Campaign Update

The Coronapanic is dying away, whether Democrats want it to or not. There’s really nothing they can do to stop it at this point – Americans have had enough of the fear porn.

You can see it happening all over America: On the crowded beaches of Virginia, Florida and Texas; in increasingly busy shopping centers, restaurants and hair salons; in the rising demands by preachers, priests and rabbis for restoration of 1st amendment religious freedoms; in the neighborhood block parties being conducted in communities around the nation; at the freedom rallies in dozens of state capitals.

Most Americans were willing to go along with the initial stay-at-home strategy to “flatten the curve,” but, as the shutdowns have been extended, the devastating real-world impacts to their friends, neighbors and their own economic futures have become clear. At the same time, the lack of any real underlying science or data supporting the increasingly authoritarian edicts coming from Democrat officials has grown glaringly obvious. Now, millions of Americans have had enough. Their numbers grow with every passing day.

As reported by CNBC’s Carl Quintanilla on Twitter today, J.P. Morgan analysts have now conclusively demonstrated that the Democrat emperors have no clothes, as repellent as that may sound. In what Quintanilla calls a “devastating” study, JPM analysts released a study that shows that fears of rising Wuhan Viris infections as states and countries reopen their economies are failing to be borne out. In fact, the exact opposite is happening: the rates of infections and hospitalizations are actually dropping as businesses reopen and people go back to work.

In a subsequent tweet, Quintanilla notes that the same phenomenon is taking place in other countries that JPM’s analysts studied:

Image

This data rips to shreds Democrat/media arguments that their governors, mayors and other local officials are issuing their anti-constitutional edicts based on anything resembling “science.”

Another piece of data circulating today demonstrates very clearly that, based on catastrophically flawed statistical models and the bad advice of medical “experts,” we shut the U.S. economy down over what was at its heart a nursing home problem.

Syndicated columnist Phil Kerpen (@Kerpen on Twitter) has been doing fantastic research into the published government data to try to figure out what the real numbers and percentages are related to deaths in nursing homes and long-term care centers (LTCs). What he has found is stunning.

According to Kerpen’s findings, nursing homes and LTCs account for fully 52% of all deaths attributed to COVID-19 thus far. The chart below shows the percentages for the largest population states:

Image

Michigan, with about a third of Texas’s population, has seen more nursing home/LTC deaths than the entire number of deaths in Texas. Think about that.

Now, combine all of this with the recent finding that fully 2/3rds of the deaths in New York occurred among people who had been staying shut-in for weeks, and there is no longer any argument for the efficacy of stay-at-home orders. The simple fact of the matter is that if you want to make decisions based on data and science, you have to lift stay-at-home orders all over the country.

Thus, the latest in the long line of Democrat scams has collapsed.

The Coronapanic is over, and there is nothing the Democrats and their corrupt media toadies can do about it.

That is all.

Wednesday News Roundup: Biden Blackmail, More Rice Lies, and Another Fake COVID Study

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II

You have no right to be healthy, Citizen! – In New Jersey, Democrat thug Governor Phil Murphy is literally having people arrested for working out:

Meanwhile, in Michigan, Generalissimo Gretchen Whitmer has done such a bang-up job abusing the fundamental rights of the people in her state that Creepy Uncle Quid Pro China Joe Biden is now vetting her to be his vice presidential running mate. Whitmer confirmed this incredible fact yesterday in an interview on the “Today” show:

“I’ve had a conversation with some folks,” Whitmer said in a Tuesday morning interview on the “Today” show. “It was just an opening conversation and it’s not something that I would call a professional formalized vetting,” she added.

News to Herr Gretchen: If you’ve had an “opening conversation” with the campaign, it means you are being vetted.

“Note to self: Barack was doin’ everything byyyyy the book. mmm, hmmmm, ‘by the book,’ that’s what Barack always told us. I’m just sayin’, that man did everything byyyyy the book.” – Ric Grenell declassifed the previously-withheld sections of the infamous “memo to self” that Obama National Security Advisor Susan Rice wrote while President Trump was being sworn into office on January 20, 2017.

Why Is The Susan Rice Role In The Obama Spying Story A Big Deal ...

That memo was designed to provide a white-washed summary of the January 5 White House meeting during which Obama revealed he knew all the details of his administration’s spying operation on General Mike Flynn, a fact that stunned Deputy AG Sally Yates speechless. The declassified piece of the memo reveals that a) James Comey’s FBI had zero information of any wrongdoing by General Flynn, and b) that Obama and Comey nonetheless discussed withholding information regarding relations with Russia from national security briefings provided to the Trump transition team.

Despicable.

Big news story on the cable news channels this morning is that Pier 1 Imports is bankrupt and going out of business. Folks, Pier 1 Imports has been pretty consistently “going out of business” for about 20 years now. It is – or at least originally was – a sister company to Radio Shack under the Tandy Company umbrella. “Going out of business” has long been its core business model.

Here we go again.A new statistical modeling study released yesterday will give the fear porn mongers in the Democrat Party and the corrupt news media new ammo in their fight to keep the country shut down through election day:

A new study suggests the number of Americans who will die after contracting the novel coronavirus is likely to more than triple by the end of the year, even if current social distancing habits continue for months on end.

The study, conducted by the Comparative Health Outcomes, Policy and Economics Institute at the University of Washington’s School of Pharmacy, found that 1.3 percent of those who show symptoms of COVID-19 die, an infection fatality rate that is 13 times higher than a bad influenza season.

“COVID-19 infection is deadlier than flu — we can put that debate to rest,” said Anirban Basu, a health economist at the University of Washington who authored the study.

[End]

Among the study’s no-doubt many faulty assumptions is that it assumes no advances in treatment regimes for those infected as doctors and laboratories learn more and more about the Wuhan Virus. It also assumes rising outbreaks of the virus as states reopen their economies, thus ignoring the real-world experience in the states that are currently doing just that.

In other words, this “study” is just like a new Fox News poll: An exercise dedicated to creating a knowingly-false, outrageous result designed to create “news” stories for corrupt media outlets.

So tiresome.

Quid Pro Joe live and in action!Audio tapes were released on Tuesday of  several 2016 phone calls between Quid Pro Joe Biden and former Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko. The calls present clear proof that Biden – then serving as Obama’s point man on Ukraine policy – engaged in outright blackmailing of the Ukrainian President, withholding $1 billion in guaranteed U.S. loans from the Ukraine until Poroshenko had gotten rid of Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin, who was at the time investigating the Ukrainian gas company that had given Biden’s ne’er-do-well son Hunter a highly-lucrative board position.

This is, of course, exactly what Biden himself admitted to doing at a public event in a video released last fall. The audio tapes of the actual conversations simply confirm Biden’s bragging about the blackmail.

Remember, folks, this whole “quid pro quo” rubrick was the exact allegation the Democrats concocted last August as justification for mounting an impeachment hoax against President Donald Trump.

You seriously could never make this stuff up.

Bring in the clowns – there ought to be clowns. – The Dallas Count Commissioners Court has long been little more than a running clown show, led by long-time radical leftwing commissioner John Wiley Price.

On Tuesday, the commissioners  beclowned themselves yet again, as reported by The Blaze.:

The Dallas County Commissioners Court has accused Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R) of exhibiting white supremacy after the Republicans condemned the actions of State District Judge Eric Moyé, who jailed salon owner Shelley Luther for reopening her business in defiance of the state’s lockdown order.

Moyé is black, and Abbott, Patrick, and Luther are all white.

What are the details?

On Tuesday, the commission passed a resolution declaring that “Dallas County residents suffer as the world gazes upon the travesty of justice caused when the Governor of the State of Texas and Dan Patrick, Lieutenant Governor (who appears to spend an excessive amount of time with his Conservative radio talk show) intervened in a ruling against a media-manufactured cause celebre, a lawbreaker and owner of Salon a la Mode.”

The document went on to say that the county “had its reputation questioned and ridiculed as this staged-circus, was reduced to issues of race and the superiority of Anglos over all other Americans, which was exhibited by the Governor and the Lt. Governor’s reintroduction of Dred Scott v. Sanford which briefed by any reasonable party reads; ‘a Black man (Moyé) has no rights that a White man (Trump, Abbott, Patrick) are bound to respect!”

[End]

Again, you could never make this stuff up. It is just too absurd for the human mind to ever conceive out of whole cloth.

That is all.

Trump Leads in Battleground States: CNN Hardest Hit

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Poll? What poll? – One of the most entertaining aspects of all the fake polling comes when some corrupt media outlet commissions a poll and then works to downplay it when the results it gets back don’t fit the official Democrat/media narrative. That happened this week when CNN released a poll of battleground states that came in the wrong way.

Here’s an excerpt from CNN’s web story on the poll:

(CNN)Presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden’s lead over President Donald Trump now stands at five points, but Trump has an edge in the critical battleground states that could decide the electoral college, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS.

In the new poll, 51% of registered voters nationwide back Biden, while 46% say they prefer Trump, while in the battlegrounds, 52% favor Trump and 45% Biden. Partisans are deeply entrenched in their corners, with 95% of Democrats behind Biden and the same share of Republicans behind Trump. The two are close among independents (50% back Trump, 46% Biden, not a large enough difference to be considered a lead), but Biden’s edge currently rests on the larger share of voters who identify as Democrats.

The former vice president continues to hold healthy leads among women (55% Biden to 41% Trump) and people of color (69% Biden to 26% Trump). The two run more closely among men (50% Trump to 46% Biden) and the President holds a clear edge among whites (55% Trump to 43% Biden). The poll suggests Biden outpaces Trump among voters over age 45 by a 6-point margin, while the two are near even among those under age 45 (49% Biden to 46% Trump).

The CNN Poll was conducted by SSRS May 7-10 among a random national sample of 1,112 adults reached on landlines or cellphones by a live interviewer, including 1,001 registered voters and 583 voters in battleground states, defined as the 15 states decided by 8 points or less in 2016 — Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin. Results for the full sample have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.7 percentage points.

[End]

See, it wasn’t supposed to be this way, not at all. CNN commissioned this poll on the assumption that it would get a result back showing a huge Biden lead nationally – thanks mainly to big margins in New York and California – and also a clear lead in those battleground states. After all, a raft of other fake polls have pretended to show Biden with leads in places like Ohio and Michigan and Florida and North Carolina recently – so why wouldn’t a poll by CNN come up with the same result?

Oops.

The polling company, SSRS, obviously failed to get the memo about expected results. Thus, CNN has spent the last several days barely mentioning its own poll on air.

Make no mistake about it: 7% in these states is a very significant lead for the President. They’re called “battleground” states because they’re supposed to be up for grabs.

Several things to note about the excerpt from the story:

– Biden’s 5-point national “lead” is trumpeted at the top of the story, with no qualifier whatsoever;

– Trump’s 7-point advantage in the battlegrounds is described not as  “lead” but a mere “edge”;

– Meanwhile, Trump’s crucial 4-point lead among independent voters is hilariously described in the 2nd paragraph as being “not large enough to be considered a lead” at all;

– CNN fails to provide the reader with a breakdown of the partisan leanings of the adults surveyed, or to provide a link to a webpage where readers could find it, which these days most likely means that SSRS over-sampled Democrats. A trip to the SSRS website reveals nothing. Typical;

Perhaps the most interesting part of that article, though is this sentence: “The former vice president continues to hold healthy leads among women (55% Biden to 41% Trump) and people of color (69% Biden to 26% Trump).” The first part of that is no surprise, as women continue to trend Democrat, even when the Democrat is a bumbling oaf with clear, advancing cognitive issues.

It is the second part that needs an explanation, one that CNN conveniently fails to provide. What does the term “people of color” mean as it applies to this poll? Does that category include Hispanic voters, for example? This categorization is odd, given that most polls we see break samples down into separate categories for Hispanic and African American voters. Neither CNN nor SSRS are saying.

This is the problem for media outlets that commission fake polls for the purpose of creating “news” stories: When the story doesn’t fit the approved Democrat narrative, the poll becomes an expensive nuisance.

That is all.

Flynn Case: Sidney Powell Files for Writ of Mandamus to Court of Appeals

The Evening Campaign Update

If you want to know what is actually happening in Washington, DC these days, the best first step you can take is to follow the great Catherine Herridge on Twitter. Just before 4:00 CT today, Herridge issued this tweet:

The timing is interesting to me since I had a conversation with a DC contact this morning in which I wondered when Flynn’s great lawyer, Ms. Powell, would take this very action. She apparently wanted to wait until Judge Emmet Sullivan had overplayed his hand so severely that the appeals court would also reveal itself as hopelessly corrupt were it to deny her writ.

It was bad enough that Sullivan took the stunning step last week of appointing a Trump-hating lawyer, John Gleeson, to be a court-appointed amicus curae. But then on Monday, Gleeson filed a motion with Sullivan requesting the ability to set out a briefing schedule demanding new briefs and oral arguments from both the defense and the Department of Justice, and the ability to call witnesses. Gleeson, in other words, is attempting to set himself up as a de facto second special counsel, complete with the ability to perform his own separate investigation targeting General Flynn.

At that point, the situation had obviously become so beyond the pale that Powell literally had no choice but to see this writ of mandamus. In the blown-up copy below, you can see that Powell requests the appellate court to summarily grant the DOJ’s motion to dismiss the case; vacate Sullivan’s order appointing Gleeson; and to reassign the case to a judge who hopefully has a little respect for justice and the law.

Image

The notion that a judge in a case in which the prosecution has literally filed to abandon all charges would go to such unprecedented lengths to continue a 3 year-long persecution of a defendant who was entrapped and framed by his own government is repugnant to the American experience. It is terribly disturbing that any federal judge would oversee and in fact force such a perversion of our system of justice in his courtroom. This is Stalinist Soviet Union stuff.

The biggest fear we should all have now is the prospect of the Court of Appeals twisting itself into a pretzel to devise a rationale for denying Powell’s petition. Because if that happens, we will know that our federal court system has become hopelessly corrupted, and the situation is irretrievable.

This is a big, big moment in our nation’s history. But hey, better to know it than not, right?

Right.

Tuesday News Roundup: As Red States Reopen, Blue States Continue to Suffer

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Bolstered by the fact that his state just experienced its lowest numbers since April 3 in terms of new COVID-19 infections, hospitalizations and deaths despite expanded testing, Texas Governor Greg Abbott continued to expand one of the nation’s most successful reopening plans on Monday. Abbott’s Phase II will allow bars, bowling alleys, wine tasting rooms and other entertainment venues to reopen at 25% capacity this Friday, and allows restaurants, salons and other already-opened businesses to expand to 50% capacity on that day.

Here are other details of Abbott’s Phase II, as reported by the Dallas Morning News:

– Effective immediately, daycare centers can reopen, as can massage businesses, tattoo parlors and piercing studios, so long as there is at least 6 feet of social distancing between operating work stations.

– On Friday, restaurants can increase their capacity to 50%. Bars and several entertainment venues, including bowling alleys, bingo halls, skating rinks, rodeos and aquariums,, can reopen at 25% capacity.

– On May 29, zoos can reopen at 25% capacity.

– On May 31, youth camps can reopen. So can professional sports venues – including basketball, baseball, softball, golf, tennis, football, and car racing – so long as there are no in-person spectators.

In contrast to the fright tactics pushed by the corrupt news media on behalf of the Democrat Party, Texas has seen no surge whatsoever in Wuhan Virus cases during the course of its reopening, and continues to have by far the lowest rate of death per capita among the nation’s large states. Abbott did choose to delay the Phase II implementation for the El Paso and Amarillo areas, but that was due to isolated outbreaks of the virus among the employees in two meatpacking plants.

Meanwhile, as reopenings in red states like Texas, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Arkansas and others continued to run along smoothly, here is a sampling of what Democrat governors and mayors were inflicting on the people in the blue states:

–  New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said his city’s beaches would remain closed through the end of May, and threatened to have his police literally pull people “right out of the water” if they are caught swimming in the ocean;

Toadish Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker told reporters that he has amended his own lockdown order to now include fines of $25,000 and imprisonment for any business owner who dares to defy his authority;

Cartman: Respect My Authority (With images) | Video games for kids ...

In Michigan, Generalissimo Gretchen Whitmer, who has been under tremendous pressure to lift her jackboot off the necks of her citizens, relented a bit by announcing a modest reopening of some businesses in the state’s upper peninsula and far northern region. But Herr Gretchen will keep the rest of the state – and the vast preponderance of her population – under a strict and utterly failed lockdown policy through at least May 28;

In Oregon, Alinskyite Governor Kate Brown found herself on the losing end of a lawsuit challenging her own insane lockdown early in the day, as a state district judge ruled that businesses can reopen because, you know, the Constitution and stuff. However, by day’s end, the reliable leftist brutes on the state’s supreme court had reversed that decision, reinstating Brown’s counterproductive policy while the case goes through the appeals process;

In New Jersey, goofy Democrat Gov. Phil Murphy found himself in a bit of a conundrum as local law enforcement officers are beginning to tire of enforcing his mindless edicts. When a gym operator in Bellmawr announced he was going to reopen on Monday, several hundred supporters showed up to support him. Police arriving on the scene surveyed the crowd, informed them they were all in violation of the Governor’s order, and then, smiling, told them to “have a good day.” Murphy responded as bullies always do, threatening the owners that they would “have a different experience” should they try to open again on Tuesday;

Despite California’s having one of the lowest rates of infections and deaths per capita among the large population states, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, in an interview designed to show how his city is not in total lockdown, made clear his city would remain in its current lockdown condition until well into the summer before he would even begin studying ways to allow businesses to reopen.

The United States is a divided country, and we are going to come out of this Wuhan Virus episode in a situation in which the red states will be miles ahead of the blue states economically and in terms of the individual freedoms of the citizens. You can be certain that thugs like Eric Garcetti and Bill de Blasio and  Gretchen Whitmer are going to continue exercising any authority they can get away with against their citizens even after the virus has run its course.

We must keep in mind that no leftist is going to voluntarily surrender power once they have obtained it. That will only be done if the U.S. Department of Justice and the courts move to force them to relent.

Make no mistake about it: The Democrat thugs themselves understand the long-term economic ramifications of whey they are currently doing, which is why they and Nancy Pelosi are in such a frenzy now to force congress to bail the states out. Many blue states were already teetering on the brink of insolvency before the viral gift from China arrived at our shores, and now their fate is pretty much sealed.

But states like Texas, Florida and many others that have a constitutional requirement to balance their budgets are not in any similar situation. Thus, a congressional bailout would in fact be a situation in which red states that have properly managed themselves would be forced to bail out blue states that have been badly mismanaged by Democrats for decades.

It’s a soft civil war, folks. Let’s pray it doesn’t expand into a hard one.

That is all.

AG Barr Just Let Obama and Biden off the Hook

Today’s Campaign Update – BREAKING

Well, there you have it. – During his press conference Monday addressing developments in the investigation of last year’s mass shooting at NAS Pensacola, Attorney General William Barr took time to also discuss the progress of the ongoing investigation of Spygate/Obamagate led by U.S. Attorney John Durham. During the course of his four minutes of remarks, Barr made clear that, regardless of what Durham’s investigation reveals about the involvement of Barack Obama and Joe Biden, his DOJ will refuse to prosecute either man.

Below is a clip of Barr’s remarks, followed by a transcript:

Transcript:

“So long as I serve as Attorney General the criminal justice system will not be used for partisan political end, and this is especially true for the upcoming elections in November. We live in a very divided country right now, and I think it is critical that we have an election where the American people are allowed to make the decision, a choice between President Trump and Vice President Biden based on a robust debate of policy issues. And we can’t allow this process to be hijacked by efforts to drum up criminal investigations of either candidate.

“I’m committed that this election will be conducted without this kind of interference. Any effort to pursue an investigation of either candidate has to be approved by me. Now, what happened to the President, and I’ve said this many times, what happened to the President in the 2016 election and throughout the first two years of his administration was abhorrent. It was a grave injustice, and it was unprecedented in American history.

“The law enforcement apparatus in this country were involved in advancing a false and utterly baseless Russian Collusion narrative against the President. The proper investigative and prosecutive standards of the Department of Justice were abused, in my view, in order to reach a particular result. We saw two different standards of justice emerge: one that applied to President Trump and his associates, and the other that applied to everybody else. We can’t allow this to ever happen again.

“The Durham investigation is trying to get to the bottom of what really happened, and it will determine whether there were any federal laws broken; and if there were, those who broke the laws will be held to account. But this cannot be, and it will not be, a tit for tat exercise. We are not going to lower the standards just to achieve a result. The only way to stop this vicious cycle, the only way to break away from this dual system of justice, is to make sure that we scrupulously apply the single and proper standard of justice for everybody.

“Now, under the longstanding standards of the Department of Justice, criminal charges are appropriate only when we  have enough evidence to prove each element of a crime beyond a reasonable doubt. That is the standard we’re applying.

“Now, I have a general idea of how Mr. Durham’s investigation is going, and as I have indicated, some aspects of what happened are being examined as potential crimes.  But we have to bear in mind what the Supreme Court recently reminded us of in the Bridge Gate case: As the Court said there, there is a difference between an abuse of power and a federal crime. Not every abuse of power, no matter how outrageous, is necessarily a federal crime.

As to President Obama and Vice President Biden: Whatever their level of involvement, based on the information I have today, I don’t expect Mr. Durham’s work will lead to a criminal investigation of either man. Our concern over potential criminality is focused on others.”

[End]

Ok, so, a lot of very noble stuff in there, pretty much all of which any fair-minded American would agree with had we experienced a normal political environment over the last 5 years.

After all, how can any fair-minded American disagree with the notion that the criminal justice system should not be used to achieve a political end? Or that justice must be blind? Or that “not every abuse of power is necessarily a federal crime?” Or, indeed, even that we need to do our best to end the abuse of the justice system in America?

Obviously, that’s all very just and fair.

The problem, of course, is that we have not lived in anything resembling a normal political environment for the last 5 years, and that the Obama Administration used the DOJ for partisan political ends for 8 long years. The political playing field was vastly tilted to the political left by Obama and his evil minions, and neither Barr nor Jeff Sessions have done much of anything to correct that tilt.

Plus, what if Durham’s investigation does reveal  “enough evidence to prove each element of a crime beyond a reasonable doubt” against Quid Pro China Joe? Let’s say that result comes about during the summer – how would it then be fair to the American public and indeed the American criminal justice system for Barr to decide to keep that information confidential – which he would have to do by the standard he articulated today – and to allow Biden to continue as a candidate unscathed, knowing that he would inevitably quash all evidence against him should he be elected?

Barr is absolutely correct that the U.S. justice system should have never been used for political ends as it was by Obama and Biden. But that is what it is at this point, and the damage has been done. If Durham’s investigation reveals criminal wrongdoing by either man, and Barr withholds that information from the public, regardless of timing, he will have rendered himself every bit the political tool that Loretta Lynch and Eric Holder were guilty of being.

That is all.

Monday News Roundup: Rand Paul is Done With Fauci and Cuomo Scurries for Cover

The Mid-Day Campaign Update

“My fellow Republican senators have tried to see things from the Speaker’s point of view, but we can’t get our heads that far up our rear ends.” – Louisiana Senator John Kennedy on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo just now, talking about Pelosi’s $3 trillion “stimulus bill” atrocity.

Oops, he did it again. – Remember how serial alarmist Anthony Fauci warned that we would see a spike in Wuhan Virus cases in states that opened up their economies early? Yeah, that’s not happening, according to HHS Secretary Alex Azar. Appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union” program with Snake Jake Tapper, Azar had this to say about that:

“We are seeing that in areas that are opening, we’re not seeing the spike in cases. We still see spikes in some areas that are, in fact, closed, very localized situations. And so this is going to be very important for us to watch the circumstances on the ground. With reopening, what’s the key to reopening?”

Thus, as with every other prediction Fauci has made related to this Chinese plague over the past four months, he turns out to have been wrong. When are we going to quit listening to this guy?

Rand Paul is certainly grown weary of Fauci’s faulty advice. – In a weekend interview with NewsMax TV’s Greg Kelly, Senator Paul had this to say about Fauci’s contention that we need to keep schools closed through the fall semester:

“The future is difficult and we shouldn’t assume that one guy with a Ph.D. or an M.D. knows everything about the future,” he said.

“Every school was closed and not one kid was sick in Kentucky. Is that an overreach? I don’t know,” Paul added. “We have 600,000 people out of work in Kentucky now. We’ve got devastating numbers where we’re gonna bankrupt the state again on unemployment, even though we’ve given $3 trillion out.

“There’s not enough money in China, there’s not enough money to be printed at the Federal Reserve. We’ve gotta open the economy and we have to be reasonable about this. We can’t wait for perfection. That’s my gripe with Dr. Fauci. Not that he’s a disingenuous person or he doesn’t have the right motives. I think he does. I think he wants what’s best for the country. But so do I, and we have to have a debate over whether we keep the economy closed. I don’t think it can go on forever.”

[End]

Senator Paul is right.

Perfect example of how Democrats behave in the face of adversity. – Fascist California Governor Gavin Newsom is being quoted today by The Hill as promising that first reponders “will be the first ones laid off by cities and counties” if congress doesn’t provide a bailout for blue states like California that have been mismanaged by Democrats for decades and now find themselves on the brink of bankruptcy.

There are literally hundreds of budget items in any city or county government that can be cut instead of laying off first responders. But Democrat mayors, city councils and county governments invariably, without fail, resort to laying off law enforcement and firefighters first any time spending must be addressed. They do this for two reasons: 1) because fighting fires and crime are their lowest personal priorities, and 2) in order to make the process of cutting a budget as painful as possible on the community they govern.

In making his promise to The Hill, Newsom is simply following the standard Democrat playbook.

Speaking of thuggish Democrat governors, Fox has a really good report detailing the fact that several of them are now facing a string of lawsuits challenging their clearly unconstitutional orders. Newsom alone is facing at least a dozen such suits.

And it isn’t just Democrat mayors who are being challenged. Buried way down in this piece is a paragraph discussing the fact that Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is threatening to file actions against several big-city Democrat mayors and county judges over their 0wn efforts to enforce public restrictions that exceed those issued by Governor Greg Abbott. Abbott will hold a press conference Monday afternoon outlining his own plans for moving forward, and I’m told he will address this matter during that conference.

Meanwhile, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is coming under fire for his Sunday comments about thousands of elderly citizens dying in his state’s nursing homes.:

“We worked it out so we always had available beds. Nobody was deprived of a bed or medical coverage in any way. And still people died. Still people died. Older people, vulnerable people are going to die from this virus. That is going to happen, despite whatever you do.”

Prior to that passage, Cuomo had defended his decision in March to force his state’s nursing homes to admit infected patients, an action that no doubt resulted in thousands of other elderly patients in those homes contracting COVID-19 and dying. In defending his decision, Cuomo said no one is to blame, and “no one should go to jail” for having caused those deaths.

How to react to this? Well, first, try to imagine the uproar you would be hearing today had President Trump issued the order that Cuomo issued. The cacophony would be overwhelming, and we would already have impeachment proceedings taking place in the House of Representatives.

But because Cuomo is a protected Democrat, the corrupt, mainstream media is essentially silent on this matter, and has been for weeks as the scandal has percolated.

But second, note that Cuomo is to some extent correct here. Older people, vulnerable people with underlying health conditions, are most at-risk from this virus, and are going to die from it. Note also that, according to the Dept. of Health and Human Services, the average remaining life span of an elderly person admitted into a nursing home in this country is a stunning 5 months. Thus, many of the thousands of New York nursing home residents whose deaths have counted as COVID-19 would have died in any event, and a high percentage of them really died from another cause.

That having been said, all of that reality ultimately condemn’s Cuomo’s approach to the matter. The proper response to this virus in the first place would have been to focus resources on protecting nursing home patients and others among the most vulnerable. That’s what governors like Florida’s Ron DeSantis and other Republicans did, and their states have not experienced anything like the problems in nursing homes that New York has seen.

Instead, Cuomo shut down his entire state, depriving millions of jobs and shutting down hundreds of thousands of businesses that will never come back. Even worse, he actively ordered infected patients to be embedded among the most vulnerable of all in his state’s nursing homes.

Cuomo’s rationalizations notwithstanding, someone is responsible. If he wants to know who, he should look in a mirror.

That is all.

Jake Tapper: Straight Man to Democrat Smear Merchants

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

CNN’s Jake Tapper is a raging, unbridled hypocrite. Tapper loves to strike the pose of an old-fashioned, intrepid reporter doggedly going after the truth, and occasionally actually even asks a semi-tough question of a Democrat guest, though never with any attempt at follow up when the Democrat inevitably lies or deflects in their response.

The truth is that Tapper runs one of the most absurdly-biased shows on television, one that has spent the past four-plus years relentlessly pushing every bizarre smear and conspiracy theory the Democrats have concocted against President Donald Trump and members of his administration. Tapper is just another of CNN’s lineup of shameless Democrat toadies, and everyone knows it.

Thus, it was richly ironic and frankly telling on Sunday when Tapper, seemingly out of the blue, ripped off a completely unhinged, 2-minute diatribe about an “unprecedented smear campaign” that the Trump campaign is mounting against Joe Biden, fellow Democrats, and smear merchants like himself in the media. Tapper then followed his TV diatribe with tweets that said the following:

President Trump and his team are launching an unprecedented smear campaign against rivals, leveling wild and false allegations against critics in the media and politics, ranging from bizarre conspiracy theories to spreading lies about pedophilia and even murder. 1/

2/ These smear campaigns are unmoored from reality. They’re deranged and indecent and seem designed at least in part to distract us from the horrific death, health, and economic crisis caused by the pandemic. The pandemic, which impacts you, is what we will continue to focus on.

[End]

You have to love that last sentence, claiming that his show is just focused like a laser on the pandemic, thus implying that that is how he has always conducted his program. Literally nothing could be farther from the truth; but hey, that’s the CNN way.

Tapper has used his program for four solid years to actively promote the “Russia collusion” conspiracy theory, a theory that has now been completely debunked by the Mueller Report and a series of DOJ Inspector General reports. That truly unprecedented, massive smear was long ago revealed to have been concocted by the Pantsuit Princess Campaign working in conjunction with the Obama administration and willing dupes in the mainstream news media. Tapper was in fact one of the primary media dupes most guilty of willingly supporting this hoax. Yet, Tapper has never taken even a moment to reflect and offer an apology to his viewers, or even an acknowledgment of his own role in pushing that smear and attempted coup d’etat on American soil, which is what any serious journalist would have done.

For over a year, Tapper repeatedly provided a platform on his show for Michael Avenatti, the creepy porn lawyer who was pushing another smear and conspiracy theory targeting President Trump. That one involved Avenatti’s client, porn star Stormy Daniels, who Avenatti ended up bilking out of over a million dollars before he himself ended up in prison. Tapper, who at one point even spoke of Avenatti as a serious contender for the 2020 Democrat presidential nomination, has never taken a second to apologize to his viewers for his role in pushing this smear.

Nor has Tapper ever offered an apology for helping Avenatti push yet another smear, this time when he brought forward a clearly mentally deranged woman who hurled bizarre, completely-unsupported accusations at Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Again, Tapper played the willing propagandist for Avenatti’s conspiracy smear of a good man.

Tapper also used his program for six solid months last year through February of this year providing a platform for Democrats pushing still another conspiracy theory smear involving President Trump and the Ukraine. That smear, which we quickly discovered was concocted out of whole cloth by congressional Democrats led by the utterly corrupt Adam Schiff, occupied the national government’s attention while China was spreading the Wuhan Virus to our shores. Tapper has never taken a moment to apologize to his viewers for his role keeping them distracted on that particular Democrat hoax.

Speaking of Schiff, Tapper has also used his program as a platform for Schiff to spread his poisonous lies about all of the unprecedented smears mentioned above and more. Through all of Schiff’s dozens appearances on his program, Tapper has never once attempted to hold the pathological California congressman accountable in any way for his myriad obvious falsehoods.

Truly, America has seen no more consistent, dedicated smear and conspiracy merchant in its history than Jake Tapper. Thus, being the good little Democrat agent that he is, he naturally engages in the Clintonian/Alinskyite practice of projection, hurling the accusation at his enemies in the Republican Party.

What appeared to set Tapper off was the fact that Donald Trump, Jr. re-tweeted a video that mashes up a dozen or more instances of Joe Biden inappropriately touching, sniffing and caressing little girls and women at public events over the past 10 years. The videos of these instances have not been altered in any way, and simply show Biden being Biden. But true to his unerring form as a CNN propagandist for the Democrat Party, Tapper’s outrage is not with the creepy old man who clearly has a predatory issue going on, but with the member of the Trump family who retweeted it.

I would say Tapper is the worst such propagandist working today, but the truth is that he’s kind of middle-of-the-road in a profession that includes such luminaries as Brian Stelter, Fredo Cuomo, Lawrence O’Donnell and Rachel Maddow.

Sunday’s tantrum appears to have been an effort by Tapper to break out of that low-rent pack. With Avenatti in prison and Schiff apparently shying away from media engagement in light of all the recent revelations about his serial mendacity, that’s going to be hard to do. After all, Fake Jake is always at his propagandist best when playing the straight man to a Democrat smear merchant.

That is all.
