Tick-Tock: Hannity and Graham Break Wind, er, News on the Horowitz FISA Report

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

The Tick-Tock News Hour finally gives us something other than gas. – All-hat and No-cattle Senator Lindsey Graham appeared on Sean Hannity’s Tick-Tock News Hour Wednesday evening. That’s nothing new. What is new is that the Senator from South Carolina had actually managed to round up some cattle for a change, informing Hannity’s loyal audience of something that they hadn’t already heard 600 times before on Tick-Tock News.

That item of actual new stuff is that the long-delayed report on abuse of the FISA process from plodding, obfuscating DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz and his staff of thousands of do-nothing bureaucrats will definitely, no question, you betcha be issued on December 9. Not December 9 of 2020, not of 2024, but…wait for it…THIS ACTUAL YEAR. I swear I’m not making this up. Here’s the clip:

For those Baby Boomers who still like to read stuff, here’s the transcript:

Mr. Tick-Tock – You’re gonna have, on December 11 [he actually said September 11, but I’m trying to be nice here], the Inspector General will be before your committee. I’m hoping we’ll get…

Sen. Graham – …December 11…

Mr. Tick-Tock – …a number of days, and not on a Friday, a dump…

Sen. Graham – …it’ll be December the 9th…

Mr. Tick-Tock – …derp…

Sen. Graham – …you’ll get the report.

Mr. Tick-Tock – [Shocked] December the 9th. That’s locked.

Sen. Graham – That’s locked.

[2 seconds of dead air as a shocked Hannity suddenly realizes he’s going to have to actually run a different show than he’s run the last 550 straight days come December 9.]

Mr. Tick-Tock – Ok. That’s a Monday. You’ll be in your chambers on Wednesday.

[End]

Ok, so, all of you who have been asking me for the last 10 months or so, “where’s the FISA report?” and “when’s the FISA report coming out?” – now you have it straight from the mouths of two of the most unreliable people on the face of the earth.

My only pieces of advice to you here are:

Don’t get your hopes up. Horowitz is a career DC Swamp creature. He is not in his job to actually find real, true wrongdoing that would create a major scandal within the department of government that pays his salary. As we have seen in the previous reports he has issued following his interminable investigations, his modus operandi is to do everything he can to create excuses to minimize and excuse wrongdoing by department employees.

While this report will likely contain criminal referrals, don’t expect them to be any sort of blockbusters involving people like James Comey.  Horowitz will bend over backwards to ascribe real criminal wrongdoing by these people to simple violations of departmental policy. Remember: Horowitz is a bureaucrat at heart, and it is never in the self-interest of any career bureaucrat to do real damage to the department in which he is employed. The permanent driving incentive of the career federal bureaucrat is always to preserve and grow the bureaucracy. This is the fundamental problem with allowing the DOJ to investigate itself, regardless of who the Attorney General happens to be.

Don’t be surprised if these dates end up being delayed again. Everything Graham says about any of this is highly suspect. The man has already almost succeeded in getting through his entire first year as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee without calling a single hearing or issuing a single subpoena over any of this stuff. It seems odd that he’s suddenly now going to break that record of non-achievement with just three weeks remaining in the year and the Christmas holiday season coming up.

Don’t shoot me, I’m just the messenger. And hey, maybe this will be the one time Sean Hannity’s Tick-Tock News Hour and his favorite guest actually deliver something real.

That is all.

Is Justice Finally Coming for the DOJ/FBI Cabal?

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

“The wheels of justice turn slowly but they grind exceedingly fine.” – Sun Tzu

There goes Trump, attacking CNN again. – Fox News is reporting this afternoon that U.S. attorney Jessie Liu has recommended proceeding with charges against former Deputy FBI Director and current high-paid contributor at CNN and Democrat Party donor Andrew McCabe. Can’t wait to see that little bald fat guy, Brian Stelter, try to spin this one on behalf of the fakest news channel on television.

While the news that the Department of [No] Justice is finally apparently going to move to prosecute one of the major bad actors in the Obama-era effort to fix the 2016 election and then to take down a duly elected President of the United States is encouraging, the details of the Fox story are still troubling.

Take a gander at this passage, for example:

U.S. Attorney Jessie Liu has recommended moving forward with charges against Andrew McCabe, Fox News has learned, as the Justice Department rejects a last-ditch appeal from the former top FBI official.

McCabe — the former deputy and acting director of the FBI — appealed the decision of the U.S. attorney for Washington all the way up to Jeffrey Rosen, the deputy attorney general, but he rejected that request, according to a person familiar with the situation.

The very fact that McCabe’s lawyers were allowed to appeal a decision by a U.S. attorney all the way up to the deputy attorney general’s office is an utter disgrace, yet another indication of the persistence of the two-tiered system of justice that continues to exist within the DOJ. What other American citizen would have been allowed to do such a thing? Such a request coming from you or me would have never even been considered.

Then there’s this from the Fox story:

Last month, a source close to the process told Fox News that McCabe had a “target on his back” because of the Justice Department inspector general findings.

That’s a reference to DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report issued way back in March, 2018, which found that McCabe had repeatedly misled the IG’s investigators in their search for the truth about the Hillary Clinton email cover-up. That report contained multiple criminal referrals targeting McCabe, but all it got him was being fired by then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Now, suddenly, we have a U.S. attorney who’s gotten around to figuring that hey, maybe we ought to actually pursue a little justice where McCabe’s concerned. Go figure.

Or maybe, just maybe, McCabe’s decision to sue the DOJ over that firing finally pissed off enough people within the Department – maybe AG William Barr himself – that they finally decided to pursue some real justice against a cabal member in good standing. Let’s remember that Ms. Liu is the same U.S. attorney who decided in August that she just could not decide whether or not to prosecute McCabe, and referred the decision back to main Justice. What changed between then and now?

Whatever the reason for today’s decision, it represents a true crossing of the rubicon, as it involves the first prosecution of any of the Obama-era bad actors. We can hope against hope that it’s just the first of many more similar prosecutorial actions to come related to the DOJ/FBI bad actors who attempted to execute a coup d’etat on American soil. Nobody has ever more richly deserved a good nationally-televised perp walk more than McCabe and his many compatriots.

That is all.

In Hannity Interview, Giuliani Tosses Christopher Wray Under the Bus

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

The Bruce Ohr 302 reports were finally released last night – though in still-heavily-redacted form – and they show a lot of wrongdoing by the former high muckety-muck at the DOJ. The near-unbearable Sean Hannity managed to conduct an interesting interview with Rudy Giuliani on this topic last night, during which Hannity managed to keep his gaping yaw shut long enough for the former counsel to President Donald Trump to say some interesting things about the wrongdoing not just of Ohr, but his wife Nellie, ex-FBI Director and current National Teenage Drama Queen James Comey, as well as the ongoing investigation being conducted by U.S. Attorney John Durham. He also essentially accuses current FBI Director and by extension former Attorney General Jeff Sessions of basically covering up for the corrupt Obama officials.

Here is a clip of that interview, followed by a transcript:

[Note: I’ve heavily edited portions of the interview during which Hannity felt compelled to constantly interrupt Guliani’s thoughts and remarks. But I’ve done my best to capture Guliani’s comments in full. All of the emphasis added is mine.]
Transcript:

Hannity: Bruce Ohr’s FBI transcripts are out, and they show an amazing amount of contact with Christopher Steele.

Rudy: Sean, we’ve known this for a year, right? I began investigating this a year ago when I took on his [President Trump’s] defense. You can’t believe what’s gonna come out. And this is a dramatic revelation now, but Bruce Ohr should’ve been prosecuted – and his wife, a conflict of interest – 10 months ago. But because we had a justice department that was completely warped [that hasn’t happened].

The fact is these are crimes that are shocking. These are crimes that go to the very heart of our republic. These people had a plan to stop the Republican candidate from getting elected, and then they executed a plan to remove him from office on false evidence, false testimony.

The whole thing was made up from the very beginning and they sold it to 90% of our media. It’s a tragedy.

Andrew Weisman knew it was false from the very beginning, and then he trampled over 3 or 4 people’s rights. The press didn’t care because they were going after Donald Trump. So you can just destroy people if you’re going after Donald Trump whether it’s fair or not.

This is a terrible crime. The dimensions of it you still don’t realize. There’s plenty of evidence of what happened in Ukraine, plenty of evidence of what happened in U.K., and Italy. This was a massive conspiracy to try to deprive the American people of who they had elected as President. That should never happen.

Hannity: The 302’s indicate that Ohr had lots of contacts with various people at the State Department, that they all knew that this guy was desperate to get the dirt out on Trump. And that all continued even after it was proven that he was a leaker and a liar. How high up did it go, Mr. Mayor?

Rudy: How about Jim Comey? Comey put his signature on an affidavit swearing that Steele’s information was verified. I don’t wanna presume him guilty, but at least someone should question whether he shouldn’t go to jail.

Hannity: It looks like John Durham is spending an awful lot of time in Europe.

Rudy: I know why he’s spending a lot of time in Europe. He’s spent a lot of time investigating Ukraine, Italy, U.K. and Australia (the four countries whose operatives are implicated in the Spygate scandal).

(Hannity, who can’t keep his damn mouth shut for 2 seconds, interrupts another thought Rudy was about to convey.) Did our top intel officials outsource spying on American citizens for the purpose of hurting President Donald Trump/candidate Trump?

Rudy: There is plenty of evidence that happened. Plenty of evidence, some of it documentary, some of it already recorded, and for a year, people in Europe have been trying to get this to our FBI and they have been thwarted, ignored and pushed aside.

There was a deliberate effort to cover this up. It didn’t just happen. Even during the Trump Administration there was a deliberate effort to cover this up, to protect the prior wrong-doers. That’s just really sick. There’s something really wrong with that.

And we’ve gotta get to the bottom of it because we have to get this cancer out of our justice system and out of our intelligence apparatus. These are very important things to us, to be able to do intelligence honestly, and these people have disgraced thousands of really good people who do this every day for us. It’s a shame.

That is all.
