Defense Production Act: Watch the Democrat/Media Narrative Turn on a Dime

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Watch as the talking points magically change. – The biggest news on Friday was that President Donald Trump moved to invoke the Defense Production Act (DPA) as it applies to General Motors. Not that you would necessarily know that, since the Democrat toadies in the fake, corrupt news media did their best to downplay this big news until they can obtain their new narrative talking points from the DNC on this particular issue. Because a new narrative is coming – bet on it.

Here is the text of the President’s order:

The White House
Office of the Press Secretary
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 27, 2020

Statement from the President Regarding the Defense Production Act

Today, I signed a Presidential Memorandum directing the Secretary of Health and Human Services to use any and all authority available under the Defense Production Act to require General Motors to accept, perform, and prioritize Federal contracts for ventilators. Our negotiations with GM regarding its ability to supply ventilators have been productive, but our fight against the virus is too urgent to allow the give-and-take of the contracting process to continue to run its normal course. GM was wasting time. Today’s action will help ensure the quick production of ventilators that will save American lives.

[End]

The President’s move comes after he had been hounded for a solid week by Democrat politicians and corrupt reporters in the White House press pool about why he activated the DPA about 10 days ago but before Friday had chosen not to target any company with it. Mr. Trump consistently responded that he had not needed to enforce the DPA because so many companies – like GM – were actually doing what the country needed them to do on a voluntary basis.

GM had come forward in mid-March and promised the Trump Administration that, because it had manufactured ventilators in previous years, it could quickly and easily convert at least one of its plants to do that again, and whip out about 40,000 new ventilators in short order for a reasonable price. But, when GM came back to the Administration this week and said that it now only wanted to make about 6,000 of these key pieces of health equipment, would take much more time than promised to do it, and wanted a lot more money per piece, the President decided not to tolerate this kind of double-dealing.

As is his habit, the President announced this major policy move on Twitter:

The “Mary B.” to whom Mr. Trump refers is GM CEO Mary Barra, a leftist clown who has basically run that once-great company into the ground over the past half-decade. As such, she is much-beloved by Democrat politicians  and corrupt journalists because, hey, from their perspective, being an inept CEO is great so long as your politics are right. Or should I say, left.

So, the Democrat/media propaganda complex that has spent the past week hammering the President to invoke the DPA against some company, any company, now has a new narrative conundrum. Do they continue to prod Mr. Trump in to more and more usage of the DPA, or do they now turn on a dime and pound on him for invoking it against one of their cult heroes and start calling him a dictatorial monster for doing so?

You can see where this is going to go, right?

Expect to see the new “Trump is a dictator!” narrative rolled out by leftwing talking heads and their corrupt media toadies on this week’s Sunday morning talk shows. It’s inevitable. This is what these people do.

That is all.

America Needs A Recall Process For Governors, Mayors And Congress

Guest contribution by Gregg Updike

Back in WWII, when we were still looking to win wars and solve things, our military and civilian leadership recognized that a certain number of peacetime generals and admirals were going to fail when the bullets started flying.  History is replete with leadership failures on all levels when push comes to shove.  Even taking out the subversive nature of many of today’s politicians, many otherwise good people are better than others at certain things.

In WWII when military leaders failed, or didn’t meet expectations, basically two things happened:  Culpable inefficiency was eliminated by the complete removal of the deficient officer; others, who fell short, were shifted to positions where their talents were better suited to overall success.  Failed combat leaders often failed because they were “casualty adverse”, or myopic, but they often excelled in training or logistics for example.

Since WWII our military gradually became more bureaucratic, technical, robotic, and political; we have more political (butt kissing first) officers than military (win first) officers.  Consequently, we can win tactical victories against any enemy, but we lose strategically due to politics (political correctness) at the pentagon and on the national civilian leadership level.

Thus we have what is going on when our nation faces new and heretofore unknown threats.  Think of it this way:

Our fifty states represent fifty army divisions led by fifty governors with the mayors being the lieutenants in charge of the various components within the division.  All, by necessity, have a certain amount of autonomy, but they must all fall under a certain overreaching controlling doctrine (set of laws, rules and guidelines/structure) to ensure a relatively uniform response to most anticipated crisis/problems that emerge from time to time.  Some leaders are destined to succeed to various degrees, some are destined to fail to various degrees, in their positions – it is as simple as that.

Unfortunately, in the political spectrum there is – with a few state exceptions – no mechanism to remove or transfer failed or marginal governors, mayors and others in positions of leadership, authority, or responsibility.

For example, the citizens of New York State and New York City must now endure the consequences of electing such marginal leadership and cannot remove it until the next election which is years away.  This China pandemic shows why it is so vital to elect good solid people rather than hacks just because they have certain name recognition, or belong to a certain political party.

Take the NY Governor:

A constant Trump critic who neglected to adequately stock a reserve of medical equipment in past years so he could address (“combat”) the dubious threat of climate change by funding “green energy”.  He probably had problems with Trump’s early Chinese travel ban, then for sure criticized the president for NOT being a dictator and mobilizing the military soon enough.  Now as the actual facts have come out and as certain areas of his state have suffered greatly, he has become one of Trump’s greatest fans – we’re all in this together…

Now politics comes into play: With the disaster that is the Democratic presidential nominating process, the DNC desperately needs a competent (looking) alternative to their current candidates.  Suddenly the New York Governor becomes “gubernatorial”, and praises Trump’s response and actions ON A NATIONAL LEVEL.

Now he is griping and moaning that the TWO TRILLION DOLLAR economic “cure” doesn’t have enough funding (pork) to help New York.  Which is it governor?  Is Trump and Congress doing a good job, or not. Make up your mind.

Take the NYC Mayor:

Bloomberg’s successor, and a marginal mayor to begin with, he actually felt he had a real shot at running for president, until his embryotic campaign crashed and burned.  Also a major critic of the president, he and his health department early on discounted the threat of the China virus and called for massive celebrations in the city’s Chinatown district to celebrate the Chinese New Year.  Now we have this infected cluster in and around HIS city.  Naturally he calls on the federal government (Trump) to fix it, yet still undermines that effort with words and deeds.

To conclude:  There have been many political leaders who have stood up and have tackled this head on and are doing very well, some are doing ok, and some are absolutely failing their citizens.  This threat allows for a very short learning curve, and some leader’s poor decisions are quickly rectified; others are not.  Hopefully, the deficient ones will be removed at their next election.

In the interim, the failed leaders, if they had any decency, would either learn from their mistakes, put politics aside, and get on board and unite for the common good and accept shared sacrifice.  They could also do the right thing and admit that they are not up to the task and resign.  However, in most cases, pride and ego will not allow them to do that.

To conclude, like in the military, we need a recall mechanism to be put in place that would allow for the recall and removal of failed or incompetent leaders and judges, nationwide.  In the past, we could sort of survive poor political leaders and their actions when the threats moved more slowly, or happened very quickly in an episodic nature (9-11 for example), or were known.  That is not the case today.  Many things just move too quickly and need for calm and competency in needed more now than ever.

We need to make sure that we elect the best people to important positions and have the means to remove people for cause when they fail in their duties to protect and serve their citizens.  However, the removal process cannot be for frivolous reasons and recall mechanisms must be put in place that are fair and allow for mistakes and unpopular decisions.

I realize this could become a slippery slope, but our nation cannot continue to be held hostage by individual and near permanent members of congress, judges, and other officials who completely defy the will of the vast majority of the people for years on end.  Several states have recall provisions in their constitutions and occasionally recall attempts are made and some succeed (Gov. Davis of CA) and some fail (Gov. Walker of WI).

The point is, just having a recall mechanism would force politicians and judges to be more aware of and responsive to the needs and desires of the people.  In the states that allow for recall we do not see massive or frequent recall efforts, or political chaos, so, if done right, a recall system could become an important safeguard to liberty and be a big benefit to the country.  It would need to be a constitutional amendment to ensure fairness and consistency.

Sen. Tom Cotton Details Democrat Depravity Since the Corrupt Media Won’t Do It

The Evening Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

You seriously could never make this stuff up. – In a series of Tweets this afternoon, GOP Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas listed the absurd list of Democrat demands that are holding up the crucial stimulus bill. Below is the text of those Tweets:

Families and businesses need help now to survive the China virus pandemic. But @SpeakerPelosi walked away from negotiations to write her own bill, full of absurd provisions completely unrelated to the crisis at hand. Here’s what Speaker Pelosi is demanding while Americans suffer:

1. Corporate pay statistics by race and race statistics for all corporate boards at companies receiving assistance

2. Bailing out all current debt of postal service

3. Required early voting

4. Required same day voter registration

5. 10k bailout for student loans

6. For companies accepting assistance, 1/3 of board members must be chosen by workers

7. Provisions on official time for union collective bargaining

8. Full offset of airline emissions by 2025

9. Greenhouse gas statistics for individual flights

10. Retirement plans for community newspaper employees

11. $15 minimum wage at companies receiving assistance

12. Permanent paid leave at companies receiving assistance

The Democrats see an opportunity in this crisis. Not to help the American people, but to hold an emergency relief bill hostage until they get their radical wish list. How long will Arkansans and Americans across the country have to wait?

[End]

How long, indeed?

Naturally, no one in the corrupt news media is accurately reporting the Democrats’ despicable laundry list of political demands. Thus, cowardly Republicans will almost certainly capitulate to some or all of them.

This is the DC Swamp at work.

Just thought you’d like to know.

Why Does Joe Biden Ignore Fracking Science ?

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Joe Biden and his fellow Democrats are fond of pointing fingers at others and accusing them of ignoring science. They resort to this canard whenever they are trying to avoid having to form a rational, fact-based argument around “climate change,” but they like to use it as a crutch against logic on other topics as well.

But in Sunday night’s debate, when Biden once again demonized hydraulic fracturing – or “fracking” – and promised his administration would invoke a “no new fracking” policy should he actually stumble into the White House next January, it was Biden and no one else who was ignoring real, actual science.

Ironically, in ignoring the actual science around the very safe, well-regulated industrial process of fracking, Biden was ignoring the advice of the senior officials who held regulatory sway over oil and gas-related activities while he served as Vice President. These officials include, but are far from limited to:

Steven Chu, Stanford PhD. Nobel Prize Winner (Physics) DOE Secretary

U.S. Senator Ken Salazar, (Juris Doctor from University of Michigan) DOI Secretary

Sally Jewell (Mechanical Engineering, University of Washington) DOI Secretary

Gina McCarthy (Master of Science in Environmental Health Engineering and Planning and Policy, Tufts University) EPA Administrator

Lisa Jackson (Master of Science in chemical engineering from Princeton University) EPA Administrator

Each and every one of these cabinet-level appointees by President Barack Obama testified and commented on the record on multiple occasions throughout the Obama/Biden administration that hydraulic fracturing was a safe and well-regulated process that offers no threat to groundwater and produces very little air emissions. These senior Obama-era officials were literally forced to make these admissions after spending years in the conduct of a vain search for examples of fracking polluting groundwater or releasing major, harmful air emissions.

The effort at the EPA rose to such hyperbolic levels that one EPA Region 6 administrator, former SMU professor, Dr. Al Armendariz, was removed after his allegations of groundwater contamination by Range Resources were proven to be false. However, that proof did not prevent the State of New York from using Armendariz’s findings in its own doctored report that was used to justify banning fracking within its state borders.

Mr. Biden loves to talk about his years of serving as Vice President to President Obama. Yet, when it comes to fracking and the science his own administration developed and communicated during those 8 years in office, the former VEEP seems to have developed a mental block.

But no worries – we will continue to remind him – and you – of the real, extremely well-developed body of science that surrounds this safe and well regulated industrial process. Because facts are stubborn and important things, especially during troubling times such as these.

That is all.

Operation “Hide the Geezer” Goes High Tech, Disaster Predicably Ensues

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Operation “Hide the Geezer” really isn’t working out well. Not well at all. – Quid Pro Joe Biden, the obviously impaired presumptive nominee of the Democrat Party, attempted to hold a virtual town hall on Friday, using some of that new-fangled high technology that he obviously believes is a lot of malarkey. Very predictably, things did not go well. Watch the clip below – I assure you there is nothing wrong with your speakers or headphones:

Here’s an accurate transcript, as nearly as I can tell:

Biden: mffglps I can bffflmo pclopid nesssstl Bernie S mbbbbfff gggglkbilpadoodle difficulties.

[End]

So, hey, it’s pretty much what he used to say when he held live town halls, right? Right.

But you’re no doubt thinking that things must have surely gotten better once Biden and his crack staff found a workaround to the sound problems. But you would be wrong. Things actually got really fun after Creepy Uncle Joe was provided with a fancy new I-Phone, a mysterious and strange modern piece of tech that frightens and confuses the Unfrozen Caveman Senator.

Here’s a photo of him:

Ok, just kidding. Watch this:

The man doesn’t even know when he would take office should he actually manage to win the election. Dear God, please save us from this imbecile.

On Thursday, Biden said in a speech that he and his staff were “re-imagining” how to run their campaign without all those big “crowds” that couldn’t fill half of a high school gymnasium being present. Let’s note that the people doing that “re-imagining” are the very same people who thought it would be a peachy idea to send a guy who hasn’t figured out how to operate an 8-track tape player or his BetaMax out to try to conduct this virtual town hall.

Note to Quid Pro Joe’s staff: Any day you send this fading, corrupt buffoon out to speak without a script to be read from a teleprompter is a day filled with opportunity for disaster.

Despite all the pratfalls, Biden will almost certainly become the Democrat nominee in July. He has just one real hurdle to get over at this point. That comes in the form of tomorrow night’s debate with The Commie, Bernie Sanders.

Make no mistake about it: This is a huge challenge for Biden.

After all, this is a man whose staff has now limited him to stump speeches lasting no more than 10 minutes, 15 at the outside. In all the prior Democrat debates, with half a dozen to a dozen candidates on-stage, Biden only had to maintain some level of coherence for 10-12 minutes. In this 2-hour debate, he is going to have to speak for around an hour, without prepared notes, with no teleprompter there to keep him on script.

Which of course explains why his handlers absolutely insisted that the candidates be seated for this debate instead of standing at podiums. The less physical stress for Quid Pro Joe, the better his chances of surviving the two hours without claiming to have been the guy who brought the 10 Commandments down from the mountain top, or to have known Dred Scott personally and marched with him in Selma.

Assuming none of that or something equally disastrous happens Sunday night, Biden will sweep Tuesday’s primaries in Illinois, Ohio, Arizona and Florida and become the nominee if he can remain breathing through July. At that point, all Americans can look forward to the prospect of Quid Pro Joe and President Donald Trump holding a series of debates in the fall.

Talk about must-see TV. Holy cow.

That is all.

Biden’s “Hide the Geezer” Strategy Already Goes Off The Rails [Now Updated Twice]

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

In this morning’s Campaign Update, I detailed the Biden Campaign’s new “Hide the Geezer” strategy, a tactic in which they plan to minimize their impaired candidate’s exposure to the press and the public.

Well, it ain’t working. The strategy, which was implemented over the weekend, went completely off the rails this morning at a Biden event at a Michigan auto factory. In the clip below, Quid Pro Joe can be seen cursing at and ridiculing Democrat voters and staffers, and haranguing them with abject falsehoods regarding the 2nd amendment and his history of [non] support for it.

The clip contains subtitles, so no transcript will follow. Watch and read along – it is absolutely surreal:

[UPDATE: Here’s a different angle of the same confrontation, more clearly showing Biden’s surreal behavior:

Wild.]

As I pointed out this morning, any campaign that attempts to hide an inadequate or impaired candidate from the public is doomed to experience a black swan moment during which his true nature becomes clear to every observer. The corrupt news media will do everything it can to ignore this morning’s event and the many like it that will inevitably follow, but at some point, clips of this kind of behavior from a man who is obviously suffering from an advancing mental impairment will become so ubiquitous across social media that the Biden campaign and the Democrat Party will suffer major consequences.

Everyone involved in the Biden campaign – including his wife – should all be utterly ashamed of themselves for continuing to roll this elderly, frail and declining man out there to embarrass himself every day. At this point, it truly is elder abuse.

[UPDATE: Right on cue, MSNBC, in its ongoing desperate efforts to support the Biden campaign, posts a story with a heavily-edited version of the video that edits out the “You’re full of shit!” comment, his threat to “slap” the guy’s face, and his repeated “shush!” and “I don’t work for you!” comments directed at his female staffer:

Here’s the link

Expect CNN and the networks to all follow this model for their coverage, assuming they choose to “cover” the outburst at all.]

Will the Hate-filled Left Ever Stop Lecturing us About Hate?

Guest Piece from Karen Kataline

Denver Councilwoman Candi CdeBaca, a Socialist/Communist made national news recently when she retweeted #solidarity with a tweeter who wrote: “For the record, if I do get the coronavirus, I’m attending every MAGA rally I can.”

In response to a fire storm of protests, CdeBaca claimed she was being “sarcastic.”

It’s tough to even follow the logic of how this is sarcasm. It’s curious that Leftists never acknowledge humor or sarcasm in anything Donald Trump says.

The councilwoman must be elated now that a participant at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) has tested positive for the Corona Virus.

It isn’t satirical but true that Leftist ideologues lecture us incessantly about compassion and tolerance yet, have been revealed to be those most filled with hate and intolerance.

Within almost the same news cycle we had the love-filled and tolerant, Chuck Schumer threatening two sitting Supreme Court Justices (‘You won’t know what hit you’) if they dared to vote against the liberal religion of abortion “rights.”

Certainly, not every Democrat wishes a disease on his or her political enemies but when elected officials from Congress to the City Council do it, it’s worthy of notice. This sends the message to their base that it’s not only acceptable behavior but applauded behavior.

The Left has devolved into such ugly behavior and rhetoric partially because Republicans and the media have allowed them to get away with it.

Grassroots conservatives are the only ones who can put an end to this double standard, since the media doesn’t hold the Left accountable. We will have to be a broken record and not let it go. Despite their slogans, the Left never “Moves on.org”. Neither should we.

Conservatives aren’t as fond of protests as Democrats, but that’s one of the ways to not let it go. I wholly support the planned protest at the next Denver City Council Meeting.

Will the hate-filled Left ever stop lecturing us about hate?  The short answer is No, but by constantly calling attention to such glaring hypocrisy it could become less politically profitable.

A Week Later, Bernie Sanders “Win” in California Remains in Jeopardy

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

You seriously could never make this stuff up. – When California ostensibly held its Republican and Democrat primaries last Tuesday, all the networks and the Associated Press called the race in Bernie Sanders’ favor pretty much as soon as the polls closed. After all, The Commie had a very large early lead, one that seemed to be insurmountable.

But this is California, the state where, in the 2018 general election, no fewer than 8 Republicans went to bed on Election Night believing they had won their congressional race against Democrat opponents. What they didn’t understand then – and what the networks and The Commie may have lost sight of this year – is that “votes” would continue to be mined by Democrats for weeks after election day, thanks to the election fraud-promoting laws enacted in recent years by California Democrats who control the state government.

In the weeks following the 2018 election those 8 Republicans looked on helplessly as each of their wins were reversed as Democrats “mined” hundreds of thousands of “votes” that had not been included in the Election Day results. It seemed as if the entire state of California had been turned into Broward County, Florida.

As you read this piece today, more than 3.5 million “votes” still remain to be “counted” in the California primary, roughly 2.3 million of which will likely be counted on the Democrat side, six full days after the election supposedly took place. Here is an excerpt from a Times of San Diego piece on the matter:

According to estimates published by county election registrars, as of Thursday night, there are 3.5 million ballots left to count. (The Secretary of State’s office showed a count of about 3.3 million, but that did not include the latest updated numbers from Los Angeles County.)

San Diego County accounted for 290,000 of those uncounted ballots on Thursday night, but 40,000 were subsequently counted on Friday, and more will be counted on Saturday.

That small mountain of unprocessed popular will comes courtesy of last minute voters — those who either put their ballots in the mail on Election Day itself, or who voted in person but exercised their California-given right to register or change their political party on the spot.

Ok, get it? California Democrats have enacted laws that are literally designed to delay the vote count, and every day the vote count is delayed is a day that is ripe for opportunity for more voter fraud committed by Democrat operatives who control the “counting” process all over the state.

The next paragraph of the piece lays out the most prime opportunity for these operatives to manipulate the outcomes of close elections:

They also include ballots that were ripped, bent, marred by typos, or that otherwise gave a voting machine a hard time and will thus require the careful study of a human election worker.

Ah, the “careful study of a human election worker.” That’s exactly how Lyndon Johnson “won” his first election to the U.S. Senate in 1948. It’s exactly the method the Democrats who control the “counting” in Broward and Palm Beach counties in Florida delay the vote counts in their counties for days in every election cycle in a blatant effort to manipulate the outcomes of close statewide elections. In 2000, they damn near succeeded in even stealing a presidential election.

With 2.3 million “uncounted votes” in the Democrat primary still outstanding, The Commie holds a seemingly significant lead of over 271,000 votes. But that amounts to just 12% of the “vote” that remains to be “counted.” As creative and focused as the Democrats have been on ensuring Sanders never becomes their party’s nominee, that does not really seem like too big a hill to climb.

Luckily for Sanders, though, the preponderance of the outstanding votes appear to be in Los Angeles County and south, heavily-Hispanic areas where The Commie fared well on election day. But as we have seen over the last several election cycles, anything is possible when it comes to Democrat Party-controlled vote “counting.”

That is all.

Democrat War On Women: DNC Rigs Rules to Exclude Tulsi Gabbard From Next Debate

The Evening Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Only septuagenarian white male geezers need apply. – Today the DNC announced new qualification rules for its next debate. Conveniently for the Party’s establishment, the new rule – there’s only one now – works to exclude Tulsi Gabbard from the stage.

From The Hill’s report:

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) on Friday announced new qualifying standards for the upcoming Arizona debate that will leave only the top two contenders on stage.

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) did not meet the single qualifying factor: earning at least 20 percent of the delegates awarded as of March 15.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and former Vice President Joe Biden are the only candidates who have qualified for the debate, which will be hosted by CNN and Univision on March 15 in Phoenix.

Gabbard has two of the 1,385 delegates awarded. Those delegates are from American Samoa, which former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg won on Super Tuesday before dropping out and endorsing Biden.

Six states are set to vote on Tuesday, including Michigan, the biggest electoral prize of the night. It is highly unlikely Gabbard will meet the 20 percent delegate threshold after Tuesday’s elections.

Thus, while the corrupt news media and leading Democrats like Nancy Pelosi lament the fact that it appears certain that no woman will win the presidency this year, their Party works to ensure its lone remaining female – and minority – candidate in the race will not even have the opportunity to debate the Geezer Brigade on national television.

That, friends, is today’s Democrat Party in a nutshell.
