The Campaign Update Week in Review: The Democrats’ Mask Comes Off

The Evening Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Man, what a week this was.  The circus in Washington, DC reached an even higher fever-pitch than normal as the Democrat Party continues its efforts to literally destroy our nation from the inside out.

It was the week that the funeral of one of the biggest film box office stars of all-time, Burt Reynolds, received almost no notice at all from a fake news media that remains laser-focused on carrying out the orders of its Democrat benefactors.

It was a week in which the public got even more proof of the fact that a deep state cabal of DOJ/FBI Obama-era honchos tried to fix the 2016 election and then bring down a duly-elected president. As if we needed any more proof, that is.

It was the week in which President Trump finally moved to begin forcing the declassification of a raft of documents related to the deep state cabal’s activities, documents that various congressional committees have been trying to obtain for over a year.

Oh, but that’s not all that happened, not even close.  Here’s a bunch more stuff, starting with a parade of Democrat mendacity that exceeded even the Clarence Thomas hearings…

  • The Democrats told us we simply MUST “believe the woman” in the case against Brett Kavanaugh, a case in which the woman accuser has zero corroborating evidence and is, frankly, transparently lying.
  • Those same Democrats told us we simply MUST ignore the woman in the case against DNC Vice Chairman Keith Ellison, a case in which the accusing woman has all sorts of corroborating evidence because, well, Ellison’s a Democrat, so…
  • Those same Democrats also told us we simply MUST look the other way at Cory “I am Spartacus” Booker’s admission to groping a young girl at a party when he was in high school, even though he admitted it in a printed newspaper column that he himself wrote, because, um, well, you know, like, ummmm…he’s a Democrat, so…
  • Basically, by the end of the week, it had become obvious to pretty much everyone with firing brain synapses that the Democrats, as a Party, now actively oppose the Constitutional principle of a defendant’s presumption of innocence, if that defendant is a male Republican.  While many of us have recognized that reality for many years, that realization came as a real shock to many others.
  • Boy, just wait til all those people finally figure out that, as a Party, the Democrats are in fact opposed to the Constitution.  Period.  Because that’s the truth.

Oh, but it just got better where the Christine Ford allegations were concerned…

  • On Monday, Democrats were demanding – DEMANDING – that Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley schedule a special hearing at which Ms. Ford would surely love to testify.
  • By Tuesday, Democrats were wailing that the special hearing Grassley had scheduled was just tooooo soooooooooooon.
  • By Wednesday, Democrats were screaming Grassley and other Republicans were “bullying” Ms. Ford for expecting her to actually testify at the hearing that she and they had demanded.
  • By Thursday, Democrats and Ms. Ford’s lawyers were negotiating the terms under which Ms. Ford ‘might’ agree to testify.
  • By Friday, Democrats and Ms. Ford’s lawyers were reduced to claiming that Ms. Ford didn’t want to come to Washington to testify because she was like, all askeered of flying and stuff.
  • By Saturday, Sen. Grassley and Mitch McConnell still hadn’t figured out they were being totally played by the Democrats and Ms. Ford, and were still giving her extensions of time so they could continue to negotiate the terms of her appearance before the Committee, an appearance that Ms. Ford has absolutely no intention at all of making.

Sheesh.

  • Despite Grassley’s and McConnell’s cluelessness, Democrats were in panic mode by Friday, mainly because the HuffPo issued a poll that showed just 26% of those surveyed actually think Ms. Ford is “credible.”
  • So the newsfakers at the New York Times accommodated their Democrat masters by trying to change the narrative going into the weekend, issuing a story – based only on anonymous sources – claiming that Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein had proposed wearing a wire to his meetings with President Trump in mid-2017, and also proposed trying to have Trump declared unfit under the 25th Amendment.
  • Whether true or not, this narrative shift is a transparent effort by the Ds and the fake news media to provoke the President into firing Rosenstein prior to Election Day, so that the media can then portray the move as some sort of abuse of power.
  • While Rosenstein definitely needs firing – and has for a long, long time – so far, the President has avoided taking that particular bait.  After Election Day, though, all bets are off.

Lots of other stuff happened this week, too…

  • Michael Moore’s new Trump-bashing movie bombed at the box office.  Oh, darn.
  • The Emmy Awards show was filled with anti-Trump messages, and as a result received the lowest ratings in its entire history.  Gosh, no one could have seen that coming.
  • A rookie Republican candidate defeated a veteran Democrat pol in a special election in Texas Senate District 19, a heavily-Democrat district that the Coughing Crook won by 12 points in 2016.  But, Blue Wave, or something.
  • Ben and Jerry’s announced that it was introducing a “variety of Democrat-Inspired ice cream flavors.” No word if the flavors range from Blue (Wave) Berry to #MeToo Munch to PussyHatPeach to Depravity Delight, but it seems likely. Oh, goody.
  • Actor James Woods was banished from Twitter for re-tweeting a meme that makes fun of Democrat beta males, on the hysterically absurd grounds that by doing so he might “impact an election.”  By that standard, the nitwits who run Twitter would have to ban every major media outlet that serves as nothing but a propaganda mouthpiece for the Democrat Party, which is pretty much every one of them outside of Fox News.  Holy crap.

What else?  hmmmm…oh, yeah…

  • Claims for unemployment benefits fell to another 49-year low.
  • The Dow Jones Industrials closed at an all-time high level for the 100th time since Trump was elected to the presidency.
  • The economy is in fact so strong and private-sector jobs so abundant that, for the first time since 2005, the U.S. Army missed its recruiting goal for fiscal year 2018, which closes on September 30.

God Bless America.

That is all.

Dems Use the Kavanaugh Process to Destroy Americans’ Most Fundamental Rights

The Evening Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley is a great American and a fine senator.  With the notable exception of his destructive obsession over preserving the ethanol subsidies and mandates that benefit his state’s corn farmers but distort all manner of markets and ruin thousands of engines every year, he is right on pretty much every issue and has been a stalwart warrior for truth, justice and what DC Comics used to admit was the American Way.

But even this great American has found himself treading on very thin ice in his ongoing cowtowing to the demands of the mendacious Democrats who sit on the Senate Judiciary Committee.  To Grassley’s credit, he has held firm in denying the utterly dishonest demands from the Judiciary Ds and Christine Ford’s lawyers that the FBI investigate her transparently false claim of being assaulted by a teenage Brett Kavanaugh 36 years ago when they were both in high school.  But at the same time, Grassley tread on very dangerous ground by agreeing to delay his Committee’s scheduled vote this week and offer the accuser a special hearing next Monday.

Ms. Ford is a possible witness in a confirmation process, nothing more.  She does not become someone endowed with special rights who gets to make special demands simply because she claims, without offering any evidence at all, something bad happened to her at a party 36 years ago.  She has no special status to demand an FBI investigation take place on her whims, nor does she get to negotiate the terms of her possible appearance before a congressional committee, the latest demand which is being reported this afternoon by the fake news hacks at the New York Times.

Ms. Ford is an accuser.  Our society is based on – indeed, our Constitution specifically and unambiguously demands – the principle that a defendant have the absolute right to face his or her accuser and hear the charges under oath, an oath that of necessity carries with it harsh penalties should the accuser lie.  The adherence to this fundamental principle of law is not negotiable in any way if we are going to remain a free, constitutional republic.

Sadly, it is this fundamental principle of law that the Democrat Party and its propaganda arm in the fake news media is using the #MeToo movement to assault.  Everything about the Kavanaugh confirmation process, every despicable tactic employed by the Democrats related to it, every false narrative about the nominee promoted by the fake news media, have been designed to undermine the fundamental legal rights of the accused.

Because Ms. Ford is making a claim of sexual assault, Democrats now demand not just that she be heard, but that she be believed out of hand despite the unarguable fact that she has presented zero credible evidence that anything took place at all.  It is blindingly obvious that her coming forward is nothing more or less than a tactic to force an open-ended delay in the process, so that the vote on confirmation might be delayed until after the mid-term elections.

Even Ms. Ford’s memory “lapses” are clearly designed to ensure that Judge Kavanaugh cannot quickly prove she’s lying.  She can’t remember the date of the incident – if she did, Kavanaugh might well be able to prove he was in some other city on that day.  She can’t remember at whose home the party was held – if she could, Kavanaugh might be able to find the owner of the home, who might well say he never held any such party.  She can’t remember who she came to the party with, or who she left with – if she could, Kavanaugh might well be able to find those people, who would no doubt deny they did any such thing.

Back during the Clarence Thomas/Anita Hill fiasco, Democrats and their media agents became fond of claiming that Hill’s tales had “the ring of truth” to them.  That wasn’t true, but it was the talking point they all used at the time.

There is not a single aspect about Ms. Ford’s story – or the manner in which it was rolled out to the public by Dianne Feinstein and the Democrats – that has the “ring” of anything but a highly-calculated effort to deny Judge Kavanaugh his fundamental rights as an American and to delay the process for no legitimate reason.

If Sen. Grassley and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell concede to Ms. Ford’s latest illegitimate demand for special treatment she has no right to and has not earned, they are conceding to further undermining of the basic rights of the accused that are such a fundamental foundation of our entire society.  They simply must not do this.

I wish I had confidence they won’t.

If Ben Sasse Left the GOP, Would the Democrats Even Take Him?

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

There had to be one at some point. –  Holy cow, we had an actual slow news day on Saturday!  Yes, friends, for literally the first time since The Campaign Update was initiated in July of 2016, we did not have multiple major news cycles in a single day.

The biggest news was that Serena Williams, the greatest women’s tennis player in history, lost in the U.S. Open finals to Naomi Osaka, and decided to blame it all on the umpire.  Williams was completely dominated in the match by Osaka, who won the first set 6-2.  Williams decided to start fighting with the umpire after he noticed her coach signaling to her from the stands, which is supposed to be illegal in the game of tennis although everyone does it.  Williams, seeing the handwriting of a loss on the wall, decided to latch onto the umpire as her excuse, threw several tantrums, and ruined the first major championship for Osaka in the process, as Williams’ behavior left both women crying at the trophy award ceremony.

Sportsmanship is a lost art.

If Ben Sasse left the GOP, would anyone actually notice? – The other “big news” of the day was the statement by Nebraska’s RINO Senator Ben Sasse that “I consider leaving the Republican Party every day,” as if anyone didn’t already know he’s a liberal dressed in a conservative suit.  Democrats everywhere cowered in fear at the prospect of heaping a big helping of Ben Sasse atop their already steaming plate of smarm and hypocrisy provided daily by Cory Booker and Kamala Harris.  Their party is already filled to capacity with grandstanding jerks – it may be the one place in Donald Trump’s economy that has no more job openings.

Yes, it’s caused by their professors. – A new study by Brigham and Women’s Hospital finds that 1 in 4 college students suffer from a mental health condition.  No word if 98% of them are journalism majors, but it seems likely.

The Democrat Party’s far, far, far, far, far, far, far left wing weighs in on Kavanaugh. – If you’re a normal person, i.e., someone who is perceptive and cogent enough to actually live in the real world, you know that the Democrat Party’s base today is made up of three wings:  It’s left wing, it’s far, far, far left wing, and it’s far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far left wing.

Outside of Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, both of whom make Joseph Stalin look positively conservative, most Democrat senators line up within one of the first two wings from an ideological standpoint.  Given that neither Sanders nor Fauxcahontas sit on the Senate Judiciary Committee, you might be surprised to learn that the party’s far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far left wing – which is by far its largest voting wing today – has actually not been satisfied with the mob rule, showboating antics of the Democrats during the Kavanaugh hearings.

That’s right – these hipster/social justice warrior/Antifa nutjobs are actually angry at their party leaders for not going far enough.  To prove it, a group of them, led by the despicable cretins who run the Women’s March, DailyKos, Friends of the Earth and Justice Democrats, sent a letter on Saturday to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer excoriating him and other senate Ds for not going far enough and for the hienous crimes of … wait for it … oh, you have to wait for this one … KEEPING AN OPEN MIND!

Yes, friends, any Democrat Senator who did not announce how he or she would vote on the nomination before the hearings had been held is now persona non grata among the lunatic major portion of their party’s voting base.  Here’s an excerpt from the letter:

“Your job as Senate Democratic leader is to lead your caucus in complete opposition to Trump’s attempted Supreme Court takeover and to defend everyone threatened by a Trump Supreme Court,” the letter said. “But unbelievably, nearly two dozen Democrats have still not come out against Kavanaugh, and just last week, you helped Majority Leader Mitch McConnell fast track 15 Trump judicial nominees. That is not the leadership we need.”

Note how it defines Schumer’s “duty”:  It’s not to listen carefully to the nominee’s testimony, not to carefully read the massive documentation related to Kavanaugh’s background and prior court decisions, not to carefully consider whether or not the judge is qualified for the job, oh no.  To the radical left, Schumer’s and his entire caucus’s job is to oppose.  Period.  No matter what.  Oppose for the sake of opposing, without consideration, without apparent thought.

Because any Democrat who lets actual thought creep into his or her head might end up deciding that the real enemy to our nation is not the nominee, but the motley collection of nutjobs, malcontents, spoiled babies and nitwits who make up the preponderance of their party’s voting base, and we can’t have that, can we?

This is the milieu that Sen. Sasse says he thinks about joining on a daily basis.  That’s really sort of extraordinary, isn’t it?  The voters in Nebraska really ought to factor that into their decision-making when their Senator stands for re-election in 2020.

That is all.

The McCain Funeral: A Fitting Requiem for the Deep State

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Our long national nightmare is finally over. – Senator John McCain, who died on Saturday, August 25, was finally laid to rest on Sunday, September 2, after eight interminable days of honoring, memorializing and rank demagoguery, all of which the amazingly egotistical Senator planned for himself.  And so, the nation can heave a huge, collective sigh of relief.

I’ll get criticized for that opening paragraph, but I want those of you coming to bash me to remember that in 1963, our country suffered the assassination of a President.  That killing took place on Friday, November 22.  Following a hasty and ill-performed autopsy, the slain President’s body lay in state in the East Room of the White House throughout the day on November 23.  The body was carried by horse-drawn caisson up Pennsylvania Avenue early on the morning of November 24, where it lay in state throughout that day.

And on Monday, November 25, the body of John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States of America, was buried.  From beginning to end, the process took just three days, but then, Mr. Kennedy did not have the opportunity to do his own planning, given that he was taken down by the bullets of at least one assassin.

What we just went through as a nation over the past 8 days was unwarranted and unseemly, and everyone involved in making it happen should be embarrassed.  RIP, Senator McCain, at long last.

If you must continue mourning, here’s a new object of your desires. – The 200 year-old national museum of Brazil in Rio de Janeiro suffered a massive fire overnight, destroying most if not all of the 20 million precious historic items in its collection.  Items thought to be destroyed include the oldest human fossil found in Brazil, a fresco that survived the destruction of Pompeii, and a collection of Egyptian artifacts.  A real tragedy of epic proportions for history and the human race.

A fitting requiem for the Deep State. – Back to the McCain funeral one last time before I let the subject go forever.

Despite the unseemly nature of the “service” on Saturday, with two different former presidents and the daughter of the deceased using their time to bash the sitting President rather than memorialized the dead Senator, it occurs to me that it served as the perfect requiem for the Deep State establishment that is currently being dismantled and de-powered by President Trump.

There you had assembled in one place the three previous presidents who, along with elderly ex-President George H.W. Bush, had spent the 28 years prior to Trump’s inauguration “globalizing” America, marginalizing America’s blue-collar workers and de-emphasizing American greatness, all honoring a Senator who had played a leading role in carrying their water for more than 30 years.  You also had all the glitterati of the fake news media which has spent those same years brainwashing the American public to just lie back and take the policy-based pillaging of the U.S. economy and mortgaging of our childrens’ and grandchildrens’ future once again brainwashing you to disregard the realities of John McCain’s life and career.

At the same time, the President who is working to reverse the corrupt and destructive anti-American legacy of the previous 28 years was out playing golf because he had been dis-invited from the service by McCain and the McCain family.  Again, a perfect gesture of contempt on behalf of the Deep State.  The symbolism of the day was perfect:  The three ex-presidents looking old, tired and lacking in energy, their legislative bell cow lying in a coffin, the fake news media collectively spinning yet another tired narrative, with the one guy standing athwart them all out getting his exercise, preparing for another week of dismantling the Deep State they all worked so hard to institutionalize.

Meanwhile, the Democrat Party is radicalizing to the far, far left, and the Republican Party is systematically getting rid of its establishment wing through primary elections and retirements. The Deep State GOP/Democrat “uniparty” that McCain, Bush, Obama and Clinton worked so hard to construct over the last three decades is already greatly diminished, and stands in danger of going away entirely should Trump succeed in getting re-elected in 2020.

With our economy booming, Black and Hispanic unemployment at all-time record low levels, and tens of thousands of blue-collar and union jobs returning to America, the party coalitions of the past are being re-drawn in ways that will render the two Parties more readily distinguishable from one another.  While this process will be difficult and fraught with peril, it will over the next few years produce a result that is far better for the country.

Most people thought this weekend was about a funeral for a senator, but it was about so much more than that if you were paying attention.  The people at that service were mourning much more than the loss of just one man.

Just another day in the Deep State is dying America.

That is all.

Our Public Opinion Polls are Still as Awful as They Were in 2016

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Why we should all stop paying attention to the polls. – In Florida’s GOP primaries, numerous polling groups conducted polls of the governor’s race over the past few months. The RealClearPolitics average of all the most recent polls pegged the race at a 6.7% advantage for Ron DeSantis, who was endorsed by President Trump.

The final result? DeSantis wins by a whopping 20% of the vote.  None of the polls taken in the race had DeSantis pulling more than 41% of the overall vote.  He actually won 56%.

In addition to all of that, barely two months ago, a poll commissioned by Fox News showed DeSantis trailing the other major candidate in the race, Adam Putnam, by 15%.  So the people at Fox are trying to convince us that this race turned around by 37 points in a little over 60 days.  Sure it did.

Stop worrying about polls. They are no better this year than they were in 2016. Most of them are conducted using awful methodologies and absurd samples for the purposes of a) creating fake news stories; b) generating clicks to the web pages of the entities sponsoring or conducting the poll; and c) attempting to influence public opinion.

The race between incumbent Senator Ted Cruz and Democrat challenger Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke in Texas is another great example of why many of these polls really don’t give us a shred of reliable information.  A recent poll in that race, sponsored by the Texas Lyceum, showed the contest actually in almost a dead heat, with Cruz polling 41% support to O’Rourke’s 39%.

Wow.  Shocker, right?  I mean, Texas is a state in which no Democrat has actually won a statewide election in a quarter of a century, a state won pretty easily by Donald Trump in 2016, one in which Democrat statewide candidates had trouble finishing within 20% of their GOP opponents in the last statewide elections in 2014.  So a win by O’Rourke, a man of Irish descent who is attempting to convince Texas’s Hispanic voters that he is one of them with his hip nickname, and Millenials that he is one of them by doing lots of cursing in his campaign events, would be a huge upset.

The Lyceum poll’s snapshot of a dead heat race appeared to gain some support with last week’s release of a poll from Emerson College showing the Cruz lead down to just 1%, at 39-38.  Again, wow, if only it were true.

The problems with these polls are numerous, however.  The Lyceum poll’s sample is fairly large at 1,178, but 27% of those polled aren’t registered to vote, and just 27% of respondents said they were “extremely interested” in the campaign.  All of which means this poll tells us pretty much nothing at all about what might actually happen at the polling places in Texas in November.

But it gets worse.  It turns out that the people who conducted this poll chose to pretend that Texas – a state in which no Democrat has won a statewide race since 1994 – is a dead even state in terms of party identification, choosing to question 39% Democrats, 39% Republicans and 22% Independents.  Now, based on past voting patterns, these percentages should really look more like 44% Republican, 30% Democrat and 26% Independent.  Something close to that, anyway.

All other aspects of this poll being equal, the choosing of a sample truly representative of the Texas adult population would probably have ended up showing Cruz with a lead of 8-10%.  Focusing the sample on likely voters most likely would have increased Cruz’s polling margin, given the historic disparity in party voter turnout patterns in Texas in recent elections.

The Emerson College poll is equally problematic.  While it does focus on registered voters, the sample size consists of just 550 people in a state with a wildly diverse population of 25 million or so. The number of different ethnic groups living in the city of Houston alone probably exceeds the total sample surveyed by this poll.

To make matters worse, party identification breakdown for the poll is impossible to discover.  It may be out there somewhere, but if so, it is extremely well-hidden.  One distressing result of the hilariously inaccurate polling outcomes of the 2016 elections has been a trend of these polling entities being reluctant to publish full, accurate details about the nature of their samples.

Increasingly, polling entities like Emerson do their best to avoid revealing key factors like party ID breakouts to the public.  This is the case with another recent poll in the Cruz/O’Rourke race – the NBC/Marist poll – which shows Cruz’s lead at 4%, but doesn’t really inform us how it got there.

What does that tell us?  It tells us that these polling companies, universities and sponsoring media outlets have little, if any, confidence in their polling methods in today’s rapidly changing society.  Rather than simply be honest and clearly inform the public of that reality, they hide aspects of their methodologies in order to minimize criticism.

Is the race between Cruz and O’Rourke fairly close at this point, with Cruz’s lead at least within single digits?  Yes, probably.  Irish Beto has thus far benefitted from the love affair he’s engaged in with the Texas and national news media, and the fact that most of the Texas population has little idea who he is or knowledge of his radical leftist policy views.  A fear of ending that knowledge gap is probably why Mr. Beto suddenly backed out of his scheduled debate with Sen. Cruz this Friday.  No use spilling those troublesome beans to the voters before he absolutely has to.

But is this a 1 or 2 point race, as these two highly problematic polls attempt to indicate?  Not bloody likely.  What these two polls really tell us is the same thing the disparity between the polls and the actual outcome of the race in Florida tells us:  We should all stop paying attention to these polls.

Just another day in the public opinion polls are a sad joke America.

That is all.

Note to Democrats/Media: “If You Ain’t First, You’re Last”

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Remember what Ricky Bobby said:  “If you ain’t first, you’re last.” – The Democrat shills in our fake national news media spent their entire day yesterday trying to convince themselves – and I suppose their audiences, though that was a secondary concern, really – that Republican Troy Balderson’s win in the Ohio congressional district 12 race on Tuesday was actually a “win” for the Democrat Party.

The news fakers at NBC even went so far as to run a web piece hilariously headlined “Democrats are Losing This Race.  And they’re Thrilled About it.”  Their fake newsman Chuck Todd told the giddy Today Show hosts that he thinks the Democrats are going to pick up an additional 40-60 seats in the House.  Holy cow.  Talk about pushing a narrative.

See, because the race was close, and it was in a congressional district that has been held by the GOP for more than 30 years, and Trump won the district in 2016 by 11 points, so that means that a close loss is actually a “win” for the losers.  Get it?  Nevermind that 2016 was obviously a presidential election year and that voter patterns in presidential years are entirely different than in midterm years; nevermind that voter patterns in special elections like this one are also entirely different than voter patterns in regular elections – the media needs something to keep feeding its fake “Blue Wave” narrative, and if a “moral victory” is all they got, that’s what they’ll go with.

Now, what this all really was was an effort to buck up the troops.  Because the reality is that, other than the special election to fill the Alabama Senate seat left open by Attorney General Jeff Sessions way back in December of last year, the Democrats just keep losing these special elections.  This consistent pattern of their beloved Democrats coming up “close, but no cigar” is no doubt causing massive collective depression in news rooms all across America, so the narrative pushers push the “moral victory.”

It’s just like when Georgia Tech loses a close one to Georgia:  Yes, it’s just another loss, but the program needs to give the fans some reason to keep holding out hope that next year will be the year when the coach finally turns things around.  (Hint:  It won’t be.)

Meanwhile, the data and outcomes just refuse to support the narrative.  Chuck Todd obviously hadn’t noticed, but the three most recent generic congressional preference polls are as follows:

Economist/YouGov:  Democrats +3

Rasmussen:  Democrats +4

IBD/TIPP:  EVEN

No matter how one plays with those numbers, they do not add up to a Democrat “Blue Wave” that sweeps them into a new majority in the House of Representatives.

That IBD/TIPP poll, by the way, included a question about whether those being interviewed believe the country is on the “Right Track/Wrong Track”.  It came in at 50% Right Track, 48% Wrong Track, the first national poll on this question since late January 2017 to come in with a positive margin.

The RealClearPolitics average on that polling question is currently -10%, which itself is extremely good for President Trump.  Throughout Barack Obama’s entire second term in office, that question averaged in the -30s or even worse, as the public became increasingly sick of all the corruption and massive regulation brought to them by The One.

Folks, these are not polling numbers that support the notion that a big congressional turnover is coming.  That congressional preference poll average is going to have to be 7% or more in favor of the Democrats for them to pick up enough seats in the House to gain control.  It would have to be in double digits for them to have a real shot at doing the same in the Senate.

The movie “Talladega Nights” was about auto racing, and everyone laughs when Ricky Bobby utters his famous line, “If you ain’t first, you’re last.”  Because, after all, the guys who finish 2nd and 3rd in the average NACAR race still go home with tons of money and a big trophy.

But politics is different, and the guy who finishes 2nd in a special election doesn’t go home with a trophy or a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.  He just goes home.  In politics, if you’re not first, you really might as well be last, and moral victories are totally for losers.

Just another day in Ricky Bobby’s right America.

That is all.

Wait. Why Isn’t Rick Gates on Trial Again?

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

What tipped you off, Timmy? – Apple CEO Tim Cook is worried that “humanity is being drained out of music.”  It’s not about what you think, but it should be.

Tired of all this Winning yet? – Republican Troy Balderson won the special election for Ohio’s 12th district over Democat Danny O’Connor, denying the fake news media another excuse to rev up its “Blue Wave” narrative one more time.  The race was very close, with Balderson prevailing by just 1,754 votes out of the 202,000 total votes cast.  Absurdly, the two will face off again in the regular mid-term election in just three months.  If the Democrats hope to prevail, they’ll have to clear out some more of the district’s cemeteries on Election Day.

Ok.  Now do Kevin Spacey and Harvey Weinstein and Matt Lauer. – The creeps who infest the West Hollywood city council voted Tuesday night to demand that those who manage Hollywood’s Walk of Fame to remove the star honoring Donald Trump.  This move comes after the star has been repeatedly vandalized by criminal lunatics wielding axes and hoes.  So, these Democrats do what Democrats always do and blame the inanimate object for the problem.  So.  Damn.  Predictable.

To see “nutty people,” tour the halls of the state capitol building or the West Hollywood city council. – The LA Times editorial board is all verklempt about the latest secession – or “CalExit” – proposal making the rounds in the Golden State these days.  This proposal would first have California secede from the Union, and then lop off a big chunk of the Eastern portion of the state to form an independent Native American nation.

In slamming the proposal, the Times ed board asks this burning question:  “What is it about the Golden State that makes nutty people want to mess with its geography in ill-thought-out ways?”  Hilariously, the question is posed without a hint of self-awareness or irony.

In the grand pantheon of horrible Democrat ideas, this one could be the worst yet. – Axios reports that Democrats, led by execrable Virginia Sen. Mark Warner, are circulating a raft of horrible legislative proposals they would attempt to pursue in 2019/2020 should they gain control of one or both houses of congress this November.

In keeping with their philosophy of “never let a good fake crisis go to waste,” one of the proposals would be for the federal government to essentially take over the Internet in order to keep those nasty Russians off of Facebook and Twitter.  The Axios piece details a laundry list of proposals for command-and-control regulation from the feds that reads like something that would have come right out of the Soviet Union, a classic approach from social meddlers who think they’re smarter than everyone else and should have the power to tell the rest of us how to act.

All of this in the face of the fact that, after two years of Democrat/media-promoted hysteria over “Russian meddling” in our elections, there remains no evidence whatsoever that the amateurish efforts allegedly perpetrated by Russian interests during 2016 impacted a single vote.  But the “crisis” has been generated, Robert Mueller has indicted a bunch of Russian ham sandwiches who will never stand trial, and now’s the time in the Democrat hive mind to push for a government takeover, which is how they always respond to every issue, real or imagined.

Democrats:  If they didn’t exist, no person in their right mind would even dream of making them up.

Wait.  Why isn’t this guy standing trial again? – Speaking of Robert Mueller and his gang of Clinton/Obama hacks, their star witness in the Paul Manafort trial, Manafort’s former partner Rick Gates, admitted on the witness stand yesterday that he stole millions of dollars from his boss, bought his mistress a London apartment with some of the proceeds, regularly misclassified income as “loans” in order to avoid taxes, and “probably” embezzled funds from the Trump Inauguration Committee.

Gates also admitted to lying to Mueller’s investigators in an interview this past January, a process crime for which Mueller has already obtained two guilty pleas from other subjects of his investigation.  Gates, an already admitted liar, was awarded immunity instead so that he could spill the beans on Manafort.  Mueller hoped that by taking this action, he could pressure Manafort, himself an admitted liar, to turn and spill the beans on President Trump or someone closer to him.

Instead, we get this show trial on charges for crimes that took place years before Donald Trump ever thought about running for president, with Gates’s admission to committing a crime against Trump and his inauguration committee the only thing even tangentially related to the current President of the United States of America.

Your “Justice” Department in action, folks.

Just another day in nutty people-filled America.

That is all.

Trump’s Post-Mid-Term Move: Make Like Teddy Roosevelt

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Democrats have now taken us back to the Klan days of the early 1960s – A gang of white Democrats assaulted a black woman in a cafe in Philadelphia Monday morning as she was attempting to have some breakfast.  Sound familiar?  No, I didn’t make that up – the black woman’s name is Candace Owens, a conservative activist who helped to start the rising #walkaway movement on Twitter.  The white Democrats were a bunch of Antifa thugs who found out where Ms. Owens was attempting to dine and literally ran her out of the place, as you can see below:

Had the thugs been wearing the traditional white robes and pointed hoods, the scene would have looked just like something out of “Mississippi Burning.”  Way to go, Democrats!  Aren’t you all so proud at what you have created?

Donald Trump, trust buster? – So, imagine this scenario if you will:  Executives from ExxonMobil, BP, Shell, Chevron and Total all get together in a room talk about implementing the exact same gasoline price increase on the following day.  Then they all go out the following day and implement that exact same gasoline price increase while publicly admitting what they’re doing.

Those folks are in a hell of a lot of trouble under our nation’s anti-trust laws, wouldn’t you say?  Yes, if you have firing synapses in your cranial cavity, that’s exactly what you would say.

It wouldn’t matter if you like those oil companies or hate those oil companies, and it doesn’t matter if you like their customers or hate their customers.  Those companies are all publicly traded corporations who together control a major share of the U.S. gasoline market, and are thus prevented from engaging in monopolistic behavior, such as fixing prices for their products.  Thus, assuming the Department of Justice actually performed its job – which is always a crap shoot these days, I admit – those executives would soon find themselves on the receiving end of subpoenas soon likely to be followed by indictments.

Now, imagine another scenario:  It’s January 2019 and President Donald Trump finds himself and his administration under unending assault from congress, where the Democrat Party has managed to win a thin majority in the House of Representatives in the mid-term elections.  No, I don’t think this is likely to actually happen, but play along with me here.

The President is very frustrated because, as hard as it has been to get congress to do anything with its current thin GOP majorities in both houses, it is now impossible to get anything through the new #Resistance Democrat House.  The Democrats are in the process of trying to impeach and remove him from office, but won’t be able to come up with the votes in either house of congress to do so, as their own house members who won traditionally GOP districts in 2018 are reluctant to adopt that fool’s errand as their own.

So, it’s gridlock in Washington, DC, and Donald Trump is not a guy who deals well with gridlock.  He’s got two more years to get stuff done before his re-election bid rolls around, and is left with accomplishing things either through the regulatory process, executive orders or, if he can get his attorney general to act, the courts. What to do?

It may be that several giant social media corporations just answered that question on Monday.  The leaders of Apple, Facebook, YouTube, Spotify and Pinterest all got together and decided – at the persistent urging of CNN and various leading Democrats – to remove radio talk show host and conspiracy promoter Alex Jones from their platforms permanently.  The same kind of monopolistic action denying an American citizen access to their platforms and the commerce he derives from them on the same day.  Classic corporate trust behavior.

Now, it doesn’t matter if you like these giant corporations or hate these giant corporations; it doesn’t matter if you like Alex Jones or hate Alex Jones.  These companies are publicly-traded corporations who cannot by law band together for the purpose of restraint of trade or denial of access to any class of people, and that’s exactly what they did to Mr. Jones on Monday.  And it’s what these huge corporations, along with their sister social media platform, Twitter, have been doing to conservative users of their products for years now.  This is why, whenever they get caught denying access to conservatives, they always blame the issue on some sort of “glitch.”

And it’s not just trust behavior that they are executing here.  They’re also in blatant violation of campaign finance laws.  In a very real way, their actions amount to massive in-kind political contributions to the Democrat Party.  They apparently believe they are above the law, and if Jeff Sessions turns out to be the worthless swamp skunk many believe him to be, they could be right, at least for the time being.

But if the elections go the wrong way this November, President Trump will likely be looking for ways to keep on #Winning on domestic policy during his second two years in office.  Playing a Teddy Rooseveltian Trust Buster to the foil of these increasingly radicalized and abusive Big Tech corporations might have a real appeal to him, and could end up being just the ticket to taking the congress back in 2020 and winning a second term in office.

Stranger things have happened.  Hell, stranger things happen every day, don’t they?

Just another day in Democrats hate this country America.

That is all.

Chicago is a War Zone – No News There

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Note to CBS:  When you have to publicly declare that your network isn’t broken, your network is broken. – CBS entertainment division head Kelly Kahl led a press event on Sunday and, doing his best Baghadad Bob impression in the wake of the network’s latest major sex abuse scandal, declared there’s nothing to see here, all is well.  No one believed him.

Yes, Councilman, the people of Santa Barbara do lack common sense.  They elected you, after all. – Over at Powerline, Steven Heyward has a hilarious quick read about a member of the Santa Barbara city council (thus obviously a Democrat) who got caught with his rhetorical pants down a couple of weeks ago.  Go read it – you’ll be glad you did.

If Chicago had a Republican mayor, CNN would move its entire operation there and report on nothing but all the killing going on. – As it is, with Democrat thug Rahm Emanuel firmly ensconced in the Mayor’s office, and the brain-dead voters of Chicago too dimwitted to vote him out, CNN can barely be bothered to even notice the fact that no fewer than 63 shootings took place in the Windy City over this past weekend.  Thus far, at least 10 of the victims are dead.  And nobody – literally nobody – in our fake national news media cares.  Doesn’t fit the approved narrative, after all.

As if to emphasize the utter cluelessness and ineffectiveness of the city’s leadership, Superintendent Eddie Johnson attempted to deflect all the blame onto inanimate objects, because of course he did:

“I think some of our more challenging, communities, it’s just imperative that police and the community work together to reduce this gun violence.  We just have too many guns on the streets of Chicago.”

Mind you, Chicago – like the other Democrat-led, extreme high crime cities in our country – has some of the most restrictive gun control laws in the nation.  The standard answer for any Democrat politician when faced with the abject failure of the policies he or she has favored is of course to simply double-down on more failure.  So, don’t look at the gangs behind the curtain who commit all the violence, or the Democrat welfare state-created culture of broken families and dependency that made the gangs possible in the first place, look at this shiny object over here that you can’t even legally purchase in this city.  That’s the problem.

Don’t kid yourselves otherwise:  These politicians don’t really want to solve the problem, because so many of them are in fact on the take from the gangs committing almost all the killings.  Chicago today is little different from the Chicago of the Prohibition era, with crime gangs having been allowed by ineffective policing to become an ingrained part of the local culture and ultimately owning so much of City Hall that they effectively become a major part of the city’s government.

The Chicago “swamp” is no different than the Swamp in Washington, DC:  You have this embeded, incestuous culture of corruption that ensnares almost everyone that comes into contact with it and becomes a self-sustaining entity.

As I type this piece, there’s a Democrat state representative from Illinois named La Shawn Ford on my television, telling Fox News that Chicago is in a state of emergency, and urging President Trump to send in the National Guard to police some of the neighborhoods in the city.  So at least one Democrat politician in Chicago actually gives a damn, which is nice to know.

But Mr. Ford is fighting a losing battle there, since Mayor Emanuel has declared his city to be a “Trump-free zone,” and will no doubt vehemently oppose accepting any help from the federal government that he can’t control.  Because for corrupt politicians, control is everything.  Just like the corrupt Chicago politicians of the 1920s, you can’t have the feds coming into your city and giving orders.  You can’t just accept federal help because that help would inevitably lead to scrutiny from investigators and auditors and hey, it was the auditors, not Elliott Ness and his Untouchables, who finally managed to put Al Capone in the federal pen.

As of today, August 8, there have been 1,700 shootings in the City of Chicago in 2018.  1,700 Americans wounded or killed, most by the gangs who have become a de facto part of the corrupt city government.

Yes, the city’s in a state of emergency.  Yes, the residents of these poverty-ridden neighborhoods where almost all of the shootings take place desperately need the help of the national government since their local government cares so little about them.

But it will be a cold day in hell before Chicago’s elected leaders allow that to happen.  Don’t kid yourselves otherwise.  With literally zero pressure from the national news media, they have no incentive at all to change.

Just another day in Democrats are destroying Chicago and nobody cares America.

That is all.
