The Democrat/Media Axis of Propaganda is Rotting our Society

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Media blackout on anything positive continues. – On his way to Japan Friday, President Donald Trump (I still never tire of typing those three glorious words) stopped in Alaska to visit with U.S. troops there, an appropriate gesture given that honoring America’s military and its veterans is the entire purpose of the Memorial Day holiday.

The troops cheered and, unlike their reaction whenever Barack Hussein Obama his own self would make such a visit, were obviously excited and thrilled to be in the presence of the President. Naturally, I had to go to the semi-conservative Washington Examiner’s website to find any news coverage of the visit. Undeterred as always, the President gave us his own coverage via his Twitter account, including a clip of the gathering:

Our national news media remains America’s worst historic disgrace. This truth of modern society has never been demonstrated more starkly than in the current behavior by the Democrat members in the U.S. House of Representatives, by Obama appointees in the courts, and our fake news media’s enabling of that behavior.

In fact, what we have seen since January from doddering, gibberish-spewing San Fran Nan and her evil minions is a clear illustration of the major weakness of the U.S. Constitution.

See, the men who drafted that document, which is quite possibly the most impressive piece of genius ever conceived by the human mind, were all men of good intent, men who loved America and the very idea of the creation and maintenance of a constitutional Republican form of government. And they were being covered every day by a press – what they referred to as the Fourth Estate and considered to be a crucial element to any free society – that, though it had major faults and biases, was dedicated to holding those in power accountable to the people.

The fundamental weakness of the document they created back during May-September of 1787 is that it assumes that future generations of Americans would continue to send people of good intent, people who love their country and want it to prosper in the world, to represent them in the U.S. Congress. The Constitution also presumes that the Fourth Estate would continue to pursue its societal duty of serving as the people’s watchdog, dedicated to holding all those in power accountable to the public.

These two elements are absolutely key to the healthy maintenance of the separation of powers between our three branches of government – without them, power-mad zealots would be able to run amok as they abuse and distort the system, and deny one or both of the other branches of government the ability to perform their necessary and envisioned duties.

We have seen such abusive behavior from Obama appointees in the federal courts since January, 2017. An array of these seditious people have made a practice of issuing a seemingly-endless series of lawless decisions and national injunctions, all designed to deny the Trump Administration the ability to govern the nation. This is all by design, a part of the “Lawfare” strategy developed by Obama and his fellow America-haters specifically in anticipation of the election of the next Republican president. It is un-American, it is seditious, it is lawless, and it is frankly evil. Sadly, our nation’s corrupt, fake media establishment ignores the serial abuses of these judges and refuses to inform the vast majority of citizens about the truth of this intentional strategic initiative.

Since January of this year, we have seen the committees in the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives weaponize the legislative branch of our government in a second effort to deny a duly-elected President of the United States the ability to govern the nation. This strategy is designed to keep the executive branch so preoccupied with a vast array of baseless investigations that again, it is unable to properly carry out its duties and implement the policies it was elected to affect.

Again, our fake national news media is mute on the reality of all of this, intentionally refusing to inform its viewers and readers of the seditious mendacity being practiced daily by the Democrats.

It is vitally important that those of us who are “woke” to all of this understand what has really happened, that we as a nation have a major political party that no longer elects people of good intent who love our country and want it to prosper in the world. The Democrat Party simply no longer has any priority other than the acquisition and maintenance of political power for its own sake.

If we had anything resembling a media establishment dedicated to holding those in power accountable to the people, the Democrat Party could not possibly ever win another election of any kind with its current lawless philosophy. But we must understand and accept that our society has also lost this crucial element so necessary to its survival as a free nation. That loss may be irretrievable, given the sorry state of our system of higher education and our nation’s journalism schools.

All of this is why the road upon which Attorney General William Barr has embarked is so vitally important. Because the Obama Administration organized an effort to fix the 2016 presidential election in favor of its party’s candidate, and then, having failed that, extended that effort into an outright coup attempt. This is now crystal clear to any informed, thoughtful person of good intent in our society.

If there is no punishment, no consequences for having committed such a high crime, a literal atrocity against the very foundations of our society, then what incentive would San Fran Nan and Chuck Schumer and the rest of the despicable leadership of the Democrat Party ever have to modify their behavior?

There must. be. consequences.

That is all.

About That Biden “Surge” in the Polls…It Isn’t Happening

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

When a “surge” is actually a durge. – As is always the case with the DC punditry these days, they’re wrong.

Over the past week, poll-watching pundits like Karl Rove and pretty much all the others have been marveling about Joe Biden’s “pop” or “surge” or whatever word you want to put to it – in the polls. Talking about him in a way that is clearly designed to make you think he is a virtual shoe-in to be the Democrat nominee in 2020, and a real, strong challenger to the re-election of President Donald Trump. The only problem with all of this is that it just isn’t happening. Take a look at this:

See that green line? That’s Joe Biden. It’s his average in the RealClearPolitics average of polls. See which way it has been heading over the past 10 days? Clue: it isn’t up. It isn’t a “pop.” It’s not a “surge.”

What that line actually represents is the inevitable: Biden’s precipitous plunge back earthwards as all the people in the Democrat voter base get a good gander at him and listen to the idiocy that pops out of his mouth and remember exactly who Joe Biden really is.

Who Joe Biden is, is a clown. A human gaffe machine. A guy who has no respect for the personal space of women and children. A guy who can’t keep his creepy hands to himself at public events. A guy who has been mucking around in the DC Swamp for 46 years; a guy who has a record as long as your arm and none of it is good.

That’s who Joe Biden is.

And so, the numbers plunge, and they will keep plunging until that gap between his green line and one of the other candidates’ line is gone. I figure that will happen along about October 1 or so, maybe sooner depending on how Biden performs in the early debates.

How fast is Biden falling? Good question. See that poll by The Hill, where Biden’s sitting at 33? Two weeks ago, right after his formal campaign kickoff, he was sitting at 46. That’s the most severe drop in any of them thus far, mainly because that 46 number is the highest Biden has achieved in any of the myriad polls.

In any event, you are best advised not to believe the media buzz that Biden’s the most likely Democrat nominee, for a variety of reasons.

His inherent goofiness as a human being is just one of them. His advanced age, which shows more and more every day, is another. But the main reason is the fact that the Democrats are awarding delegates in their primaries on a modified-proportional basis in all states this time, rather than a winner-take-all basis.

Any candidate winning at least 15% of the vote in a state primary will receive a share of the delegates. If only one candidate reaches that level, then it becomes winner-take-all. If no candidates receive 15% – which is entirely possible in some states with such a large field – then “the minimum to receive delegates will be 50% of the vote received by the front-runner.  For example, if candidate A wins with 10% of the vote, delegates will be allocated proportionately to anyone that receives 5% or more.”

With 25 candidates in the race and counting, this system is setting up a free-for-all in which it is very likely that the Democrats will show up to their national convention next summer without a clear nominee, and maybe without any candidate even coming close to that threshold.

What does that mean? A brokered convention, at which you could even end up with a nominee who did not run in the primaries.

Hey, which prominent, extremely ambitious Democrats are not announced candidates, but are rumored to be working towards that exact possibility as we speak?

What do you think Hillary Clinton is doing with her spare time?

I’m just sayin’.

That is all.

WATCH: Sen. John Kennedy Goes Off on John Brennan and Iran

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Dar Adol…er…John Brennan, ex-CIA chief and current sedition-bleater on MSNBC and Twitter, was on Capitol Hill on Tuesday. He was there at the invitation to “brief” the Democrats on the situation with Iran. This despite the fact that the seditious ex-spook was defrocked of his security clearance by President Donald Trump last summer.

No doubt sensing an opportunity for high entertainment, Fox News host Martha MacCallum invited the very plain-spoken Louisiana Senator John Kennedy on her show to comment both on Brennan’s visit to the Hill and the ongoing tensions with Iran. As usual, Sen. Kennedy did not disappoint. Here’s the clip – a transcript follows.:

For those of you who still like to read stuff, here’s the Transcript [Emphasis Added]

Macallum: What was John Brennan doing on the Hill today?

Kennedy: In my judgment, Martha, um, Mr. Brennan needs to take off his tin hat and get a job. He’s lost his security clearance. The only thing he’s well-versed in is the stuff he makes up. It is clear to me, and has been for some time that Mr. Brennan is not a national security professional, that he’s a politician. And that’s why I think he let the American people down while he ran our CIA.

In terms of what’s actually going on, we had a classified briefing today – by we, I mean all of my senate colleagues and I – by the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff. We are not trying to provoke war with Iran. Our moves are entirely defensive. We’re trying to protect American soldiers and American interests and the interests of our friends in Iran.

MM: We spoke to Lindsey Graham last night, and he said that when the broader group listened to this, that they would be alarmed by what they learned. Were you alarmed by the provocative nature of what Iran has been up to?

JK: Well, I was alarmed in the sense that, without revealing classified information, it is clear based on our intelligence that the danger Iran represents to the United States had been heightened by Iran. I am comforted by the fact that I think our response was entirely appropriate. I’m not clairvoyant, but I believe that the danger has been lessened somewhat. We can’t let our guard down.

The truth of the matter is that Iran is a cancer. It’s a cancer on the Middle East, and it’s a cancer on the world. Not the people of Iran, but their leadership, the Ayatollah. He’s not mixed up, he’s not confused, it’s not a question that his momma or daddy didn’t love him enough.

He just hates America. And his religion tells him, his interpretation of his religion tells him to hate all those, including but not limited to America, who disagree with him. And we just have to deal with that.

Now, the Obama Administration thought that by making a nuclear deal with the Ayatollah, we could somehow change his behavior. As a result of that deal, the Ayatollah received between $50-$150 billion dollars – that’s 9 zeroes – he didn’t change his behavior, he used that money to export terrorism. Supporting Hezbollah, supporting Hamas. President Trump has responded appropriately.

He’s hit ‘em with sanctions, and those sanctions are hurting Iran and the people of Iran. And I hate to see it for the people, but I’m glad to see it for the leadership.

MM: Well, the question is where we go from here…

JK: Well, lemme tell ya where we go from here. We have Iran down, and now we need to choke ‘em. That’s the only thing the Ayatollah, the Supreme Leader, understands.

MM: And will we do that with continued sanctions or with military?

JK: No, with sanctions. I do not believe we will have a war with Iran. The Ayatollah may be evil, but he’s not stupid. We have sanctions on their oil exports, on their medical exports, on their metals exports, on their Revolutionary Guard. They’re hurting the leadership badly.

[End]

Greatness. No further commentary necessary.

That is all.

The Tantrum-Tossing Brats in the Democrat Playpen Demand Their Impeachment!

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

“I’m not for impeachment. Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country. And he’s just not worth it.” – Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in an April interview with the Washington Post.

Oh, why the hell not? – Democrats in the House of Representatives were always bound to try to impeach President Donald Trump sooner or later. They spent 18 months living in a fantasy world in which they’d be going down this road backed up by the findings of the “high crimes and misdemeanors” compiled in a final report by Gestapo Chief…er…”Special Counsel” Robert Mueller and his band of evil Clinton/Obama thugs, but that didn’t work out quite the way they’d hoped.

But Democrats are always determined to self-immolate themselves at the altar of the desires of their most incoherently radicalized members, supporters and the shrews on “The View,” so they’re just ready now to go down this road anyway. Thus, despite San Fran Nan’s protestations against the desires of the mob to try to reverse the results of the 2016 presidential election for no valid reason whatsoever, the mob is most likely going to get its way, and soon.

The President’s refusal to allow half a dozen Democrat-controlled congressional committees to have a do-over of the whole Mueller Witch Hunt  will become their rationale for claiming Mr. Trump is “obstructing justice” or something. That, and his refusal to let the likes of Jabba the Nadler and Bug-Eyed Adam Schiff have his last 20 tax returns to use for political exploitation.

Folks, these are not “high crimes.” They aren’t even “misdemeanors.” They are a President of the United States protecting the office of the presidency, which is a very important thing for him to be doing in the face of such congressional corruption and overreach. That is, if we wish to maintain a constitutional Republic form of government, something the Democrats stopped caring about many years ago.

David Cicilline, Chairman of the House something-or-other Committee – they’re all chairmen of something – typifies the Democrat incoherence on the subject. Appearing on Fox News on Tuesday, here is what he had to say:

Cicilline told Fox News there is a “tremendous level of frustration” behind the growing impeachment efforts, adding that he believes Trump is “behaving as though he is above the law and he is not.”

Uh, what law? Cicilline can’t say. Oh. So the plan is to impeach a president because you’re all frustrated? That probably isn’t what our Founders had in mind with this whole “impeachment” thingy.

The Rhode Island Democrat appeared on MSNBC and offered his reaction that the White House is instructing McGahn to refuse to comply with a subpoena to appear on Capitol Hill and the assurance from the Department of Justice that McGahn has “immunity” which does not legally require him to testify before Congress, something Cicilline believed was “legally incorrect.”

Dear Cong. Cicilline: Disagreements over the law should be resolved in the courts, not by throwing tantrums on the floor of the House.

“Let me be clear; if Don McGahn doesn’t testify, it is time to open an impeachment inquiry,” Cicilline said. “The president has engaged in an ongoing effort to impede our ability to find the truth, to collect evidence, to do our work, and this is preventing us really from ultimately finding the facts and doing our work in terms of oversight.

Uh, what oversight work is that, Congressman? Cicilline can’t specify. Oh.

Ok, what about a guy named Mark Pocan, who is Chairman [because of course he is] of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, which means he’s basically a Marxist. Can he be more specific?

Rep. Mark Pocan, a co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, said Trump’s “stonewalling” of Congress “only enhances the President’s appearance of guilt,” and “has pushed Congress to a point where we must start an impeachment inquiry.”

“Regrettably, the President’s most recent actions and continued disrespect for the Constitution are forcing us down the road to impeachment,”

Uh, what “disrespect” for which part of the Constitution would that be? Can you be specific? No? Oh.

Ok, please go on.

“The President and his associates are engaging in a campaign of obstruction and lawlessness that undermines the rule of law and does not reflect the actions of someone who is ‘exonerated’ as innocent. Congress has a responsibility to conduct oversight and get the information we need to deliver the truth to the American public regarding Russia’s interference in our elections.”

Oh, so we’re back to the whole “we’re mad ‘cuz the Bad Orange Man won’t let us have our do-over!!!” right? Right.

Please, do take that argument to the American people. It will not end well for you.

But that’s all the children have, and they’re angry, and they aren’t going to bed until they’ve had their do-over. Thus, Mommy Nan announced Tuesday afternoon that she will hold a special “impeachment meeting” of her tantrum-tossing caucus at 9:00 ET today. Oh, to be a fly on the wall…

Interestingly – and this is utterly without precedent and thus worth noting – Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez actually sounded like one of the rare adults in the room in talking about all of this. In a brief interview with Politico, the normally-raging nitwit from the Bronx said “I trust that the speaker is taking a measured approach to ensure that we’re moving everyone forward, I know that being a Speaker is hard – holding this party together is a difficult task, but I think that we know what we need to do. I personally believe…that I think we have to move forward.”

Man, who wrote that damn-near-sensible statement for her? I mean, you can tell from her body language that she’s reciting a script, but it isn’t her normal incoherent Marxist gibberish. Guess Cenk Uygur must be on vacation.

Dear Democrats: When AOC is suddenly sounding like the calm kid in your playpen, you are well and truly out of control.

Please, don’t stop on my account. Somebody go pop some popcorn…

That is all.

The Week in Review, PART I: More Beto Fails and Deep State Panic

Today’s Campaign Update, Part I
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

[The week just past as seen through the @GDBlackmon Twitter feed.]

The week began with another Climate Scammer proving that Climate Change is nothing more or less than a global religious cult. Things got better – much, much better – from there.

Hey, y’all! The “world’s fastest bullet train” goes a whopping 224 mph, not even half the speed of the typical airliner. Note to @AOC and fans of her nitwitted Green New Deal: This is NOT a workable substitute for air travel. Full stop.

This was the week we got to meet the “new Beto.” We discovered that not much had changed. Not much at all.

It was the week that Michigan Democrat Rashida Tlaib told us how she really feels about the Holocaust, and boy was it revealing.

It was maybe more revealing about the true sympathies of the Democrat leadership than Tlaib, in fact, given that no thinking person could have held any doubts about Ms. Tlaib’s antisemitism.

The disgrace who is Tlaib was so obvious that even CNN felt the need to be temporarily honest about it.

It was the week Tim Conway died, and America became a little less amusing.

John Nolte captured everyone’s true hopes and aspirations for the fate of National Teenage Drama Queen James Comey.

It was the week we found out that this guy had already been investigating the investigators for a period of weeks, and we were just fine with that.

Unsurprisingly, it did not take long for the Democrat/Media smear machine to kick things into gear. *sigh*

Who was the last president who had the balls to travel to Louisiana to celebrate the great strength and progress of our nation’s oil and gas industry with a bunch of guys wearing hard hats? Hint: There is no correct answer to this question.

Oh, hey, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said something incredibly ignorant again. In other news, water continued to freeze at 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

Not much to add here.

What do you mean, “as if”, Brent?

The folks at the Babylon Bee were on an epic roll this past week, which is just par for the course.

It was a week the Deep State skunks and snakes spent desperately trying – and failing – to secure favorable narratives for themselves as the wheels of justice at William Barr’s DOJ continue grinding.

And I’m going to have to cut this off right there, because WordPress has apparently run out of steam here. I’ll do the rest of the week in Part II to follow shortly.

That is all.

Watch Loser Stacey Abrams Self-Identify as a Viable Presidential Candidate

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Democrat Stacey Abrams, who still self-identifies herself as Georgia’s governor despite her 55,000-vote loss last November to Republican Brian Kemp, now self-identifies as a viable presidential candidate, despite not even being in the race.

Watch this clip of her interview on MSNBC from earlier today:

As a service to those of you who still like to read stuff, I spent 20 minutes of my own life compiling a verbatim transcript of this 52-second clip. I’ve also included another minute or so of dialogue from a longer version of the interview with MSNBC host Hallie Jackson, in order to give you a more, ummm, fullsome flavor of the self-absorbed also-ran’s thinking.

You gluttons for punishment can review the longer clip here. Warning: Most of the interview is all kinds of nonsense about Abrams’ current project to ensure that non-citizens of our nation are counted in next year’s census. If you’re interested in that, fine. If you aren’t, fast-forward to the 4:50 mark to focus on Ms. Abrams’ fantasy-based presidential aspirations.

Here’s the transcript:

=======================================

Hallie Jackson here. I want to ask you about another big issue. Are you prepared to shut the door on a presidential run right now?

Abrams: No, I’m not. Again, as I’ve said before, I’m watching to see what happens, I think we’ve got a robust crop of candidates and I think they’re having important conversations, but my mission is to make certain that we are keeping that attention focused all the way through the campaign. And so I’m gonna keep watching and decide if I need to jump in.

Jackson: You’ve said before that you’ll be willing to wait until September. Is that still the operative time line in your view? That’s late – you’ll miss out on talking to some people, some debates…

Abrams: Well I think the debates are an important part of the process, but the debates are new [huh?]. And while I think it’s a critical piece that can happen, I think that the, I can enter the conversation as late as the Fall and still have a real chance to…win.

Jackson: So this talk that continues – and I know you’ve spoken about it before – about being a potential vice presidential candidate, Beto O’Rourke for example is the most recent one who has floated your name, has anyone reached out to you about that?

Abrams: No one has reached out to me. And as I have said before, right now we should be focused on the presidential nominees and if I should decide to join the fray, then I look forward to being a robust competitor. After the determination has been made about who the Democratic nominee is, if I’m not that person for one reason or the other, I’m open to the conversation, but I think we need to have our conversations in sequential order, not at the same time.

=======================================

Ok, to sum up:

  • Abrams is not a candidate and is not planning to become one before at least September, by which time several debates will have already been held;
  • But she’s keeping an eye on those nasty real, actual candidates to make sure they are focused on her own priorities, which she doesn’t really identify here, but which most likely have to do with the “voter suppression” fantasy that she uses as her excuse for last year’s loss;
  • Despite the well-known fact that Joe Biden already tried to make a deal with her to be his running mate several weeks back, she is claiming that “no one has reached out to me” about that possibility yet;
  • But she’ll be interested in having that conversation once the Democrat nominee has been determined, assuming it isn’t her, and she’s not a candidate, at least not yet and maybe never but who knows? Or something.

Honestly, is there a more self-absorbed and self-deluded self-identifying leftist in the entire country?  My goodness.

That is all.

Biden’s Fading, Beto’s Flailing, and DeBlasio’s Just Wasting Everyone’s Time

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

I know it’s a repugnant subject, but let’s talk Democrat politics this morning. – First, we’ve had Irish Bob O’Rourke re-boot his failed campaign this week, and boy what a massive fail that has been. As part of his “reintroduction to America”, he live-streamed himself having a haircut and massage! I swear I do not make this stuff up.:

Oh, he also appeared with the four nagging, substance-devoid shrews on The View, which I suppose meant that Tuesday’s episode of The View actually featured five nagging, substance-devoid shrews. There, he apologized for his being white, male and privileged, and the very next day he’s got a video up of him having a hair cut and massage.  Why do I get the feeling that, before the week is over, Irish Bob is going to announce that next week he will re-re-boot his failed campaign?

Here’s the amazing thing about that video: Some supposedly “professional” campaign advisors told Irish Bob that that was just a fab-o idea. Well, they probably didn’t use the term “fab-o” since they’re probably all under the age of 80 or so, but still.

Seriously, who in their right mind would think that this is a good look for their candidate? No wonder Donald Trump decided not to listen to such “professional” advisors during his 2015-16 campaign.

Speaking of truly awful political ideas… – Bill DeBlasio is now a candidate for president! Aren’t y’all thrilled out there in Flyover Country? Yeah, neither are the people whose lives he has helped to make miserable – the citizens of New York City – 76% of whom told a pollster this week that their communist Mayor really should not go down this road.

The James-Comey-tall Mayor first announced his candidacy at a Monday event Trump Tower, which some idiot told him was a very clever idea. That is, until he was mocked by protesters riding down the escalator behind him carrying pro-Trump signs. How is it that none of these campaign “professionals” thought that it might be a lousy idea to place their candidate in front of a public escalator?

The Marxist Mayor then traveled to Iowa for a kickoff rally. There, the people who printed the signage for the event misspelled his name as “DiBlasio”. Since only a few dozen showed for the event – and who knows how many of them could even read – it didn’t really much matter.

In any event, DeBlasio joins New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand as Empire State presidential candidates who have literally no rationale at all for entering this race. They will both leave the race without having won a single delegate to next year’s national convention.

Hey, there’s nobody in the field named George yet – maybe he should run, too! – Over in London, dimwitted actor George Clooney told the assembled press that “we are facing a pretty absurd time in our lives.” No word if he was referring to the 2020 Democrat presidential field, but he should have been.

The Biden Juggernaut is already fading. – When Joe Biden kicked off his campaign at the first of May, I told you that he would experience the best polling numbers of the entire campaign season in the first 2-3 weeks following his announcement. Sure enough, he did put up some phenomenal numbers in the first few polls issued early this month, rising to as high as 46% support in a poll put out by The Hill and 44% in the Harvard/Harris poll. Very impressive given the number of candidates in the field.

But very predictably, the bloom is already coming off the Biden rose, as the excitement among the deluded Democrat voter base fades and the reality of the energy-devoid, elderly candidate-who-has-been-wrong-about-everything-for-half-a-century sets in.

We’ve seen two new polls this week, and Biden is sub-40% in both, sitting at 39% in Morning Consult and 33% in the Emerson poll. The Emerson poll is the most current, having been conducted from May 10 through May 14.

Karl Rove, whose political analyses stopped being in any way relevant along about April of 2015, was on Fox News on Wednesday marveling at Biden’s 23-point lead over The Commie in the also no-longer-relevant RealClearPolitics average of polls, but that lead will be down to less than 10 in a month, and will be completely gone by October.

Joe Biden is this cycle’s Jeb! Bush, the guy with all the establishment support, a ton of money, zero energy and, at the end of the day, zero appeal to the people who actually vote in these nominating primaries. I still think his campaign ought to just start calling him Joe! and get it all over with.

That is all.

Meet the New Beto, Same as the Old Beto

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Today’s Public Service Announcement! – The “World’s Fastest Train” has been unveiled in Japan, y’all! Guess what? It is designed to sail along at speeds up to … wait for it… 224 miles per hour! Which is, lessee here…. almost half as fast as the average airliner. Almost. Oh, and it won’t be operational until the year 2030, which is coincidentally the year before Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tells us we’re all going to burn up and die if we don’t get rid of air travel and replace it millions of miles of rail lines.

Dear Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other fans of her appeal to abject nitwits, the Green New Deal: This dog don’t hunt. Just thought I’d remind you. Plus, it’s stupid-looking. Seriously, it looks like something out of a 1960s-era cartoon:

Dubbed the Alfa-X, it is capable of reaching speeds of up to 224 mph and consists of ten carriages. Its sleek silver design is matched by its incredible long and pointed nose which stretches for 72 feet n front of it (pictured)

Don’t look now, but Irish Bob O’Rourke is about to “reintroduce” himself again. – But the crucial question is, will the mental teenagers in our fake news media fall in love with their former heartthrob one more time?

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, text

The smart money says ‘no’ – it’s really hard to recreate the magic of that first high school crush. Once the bad breakup occurs, there is rarely any going back.

After Irish Bob let it be known late last week that he plans to “launch” his flagging presidential campaign one more time, I’ve been watching to see which U.S. national publication would be the first to do yet another fawning “profile” of him, complete with nasty comments about Ted Cruz, descriptions of El Paso and/or West Texas as “dusty”, misrepresentations about the origins of the fake nickname he gave to himself, and the required comparisons to some Kennedy or another. Would it be Vanity Fair one more time? Might Rolling Stone jump in again? How about the New York Times or the Washington Post? They’ve all done it before – would they find the waters to be still warm and give their ex-boyfriend another date to the local Pizza Hut?

Uh, no. As it turns out, the O’Rourke campaign apparently was unable to even catch coffee at Starbucks with any of its fake journalist exes, having to resort instead to grabbing a sandwich at Wichy Wich with some reporter from the UK Guardian. And what a soggy sandwich it turns out to be, which is only fitting for such a horrifically-run campaign.

Oh, the piece has the required “dusty” reference contained in literally every profile ever done about Irish Bob, when it describes El Paso as “the dusty, sunbaked border town in Texas where he was born”. The writer even goes so far as to outright lie about the fake nickname, calling O’Rourke “the tall white guy with the funny first name” in the piece’s opening paragraph. My goodness, the piece even makes the jump to include a quote from one of Irish Bob’s teenage flames (no doubt referred to him by the O’Rourke campaign), someone named Maggie Asfahani, who makes her living as – guess what? – a writer!  Because of course she does.

As if it is helpful, Asfahani says she is responsible for the famous photo of Irish Bob wearing a dress in a promo for his punk band, Foss: “I want to put on the record, that is my dress he’s wearing,” she said.

Oh.

No doubt the O’Rourke campaign had longed for the standard puff piece that their candidate has become used to receiving from the national U.S. media and Texas-based outlets like the Texas Tribune and Houston Chronicle, but this one does not fit the U.S. media’s cut-n-paste mold. There is no comparison to anyone named Kennedy, and the Guardian’s piece is otherwise a fairly objective recital of O’Rourke’s political history and inconsistencies.

Not the launch – or re-launch – our hero was seeking.

Like everything else Irish Bob has done since losing his Texas senate race against Senator Cruz last November, this “re-introduction” comes too late, and displays nothing more prominently than a singular lack of situational awareness on this part.

In politics, it is crucial for a candidate to strike while the iron is hot, an aspect of the game that Donald Trump understands better than any national figure since Bill Clinton. Last November, the media’s best boyfriend could have made himself into an instant front-runner in the Democrat nomination race by announcing his candidacy the day after his loss.

Yes, doing that would have been ‘too soon’ and ‘presumptuous’ according to the conventional wisdom. But O’Rourke’s image at that time was made by being presumptuous and going against the conventional grain. By dawdling around and waiting to announce his campaign in March, he traded that image for one of being indecisive and unreliable, which is pretty much his life’s history.

And that’s it – he can’t get that back. The opportunity to stand out in the race is now gone – the field is too crowded and the fickle teen-mentality media has moved on to other crushes. If you want a comparison to 2016 and the crowded GOP field that sought the nomination, Irish Bob is this cycle’s Scott Walker, the “hot” candidate who everyone thought at one point would be that year’s BIG DEAL, but never was.

Walker left the 2016 race before it ever actually even got to 2016, ending his dead-broke candidacy in September of 2015, after just two months of debates in which he had utterly failed to make a good impression. Irish Bob is probably too self-absorbed and clueless to make a similarly-fast exit from the stage, but he might as well.

He’s done.

That is all.

Stacey Abrams Takes TDS to a New Level

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Dobroye utro, druz’ya! – Please excuse me, I’m just brushing up on my Russian.

Good morning, friends! – Every time I think the rhetoric from prominent Democrats in our beautiful motherland, er, United States of America cannot possibly become more absurdly demented than it already is, one of them goes right out and proves me wrong.

Enter Georgia gubernatorial loser and Legend in Her Own Mind Stacey Abrams, who went full Russkie yesterday while speaking to an event called National Security Action Forum put on by some leftist organization that doesn’t actually give a tinker’s damn about national security. After being told by despicable former Obama advisor (ok, the “despicable” is redundant there) Ben Rhodes that her rather pedestrian response to this year’s State of the Union Address was “the single best speech” we’ve heard in the past two years, the Georgia also-ran went off on a riff about the Democrat fantasy hobgoblin of “voter supression,” and it turned epic.

Epic in an utterly and pitifully demented and absurd way, that is. As she rambled on, blaming her favorite bogeyman for her 55,000 vote loss despite her having gotten every vote from every dead person in the state of Georgia, she said the situation with “voter suppression” is so dire that it will cause us all to be speaking the Mother Tongue in barely a decade:

Abrams calls voter suppression a national security threat to the nation. “If we do not secure our democracy in 2020 … we will be having a very different conversation, potentially in Russian, in 2030.”

Really and truly, how do you even respond to something that silly? Byron York found a way:

That is true, but here’s the thing: Your Democrat friends pretty much have all bought into this sort of raging dementia and take it very, very seriously.

You know what the real threat to our nation is? Lies spread by Democrats like Abrams and their toadies in the fake news media. The real threat to our nation is that objective truth has no meaning anymore to fully 33% of the country and 98% of our national news media. The real threat to our nation is that the report from a 2 year-long Witch Hunt can fully exonerate the President and the Democrats and their media toadies act like it never happened.

The real threat to our nation is that a pedestrian loser and pathological liar like Stacey Abrams can be broadly considered by one of our two major political parties as a perfectly fine vice presidential running mate for its looming near-octogenarian presidential candidate, who himself is a pathological liar who has been comically wrong about literally every major issue for half a century.

Understand that this woman who thinks we’ll all be speaking Russian in a decade if Donald Trump is re-elected decided not to run for the Georgia senate seat in 2020 because she’s already made a backroom deal with Joe Biden to be his running mate, which means she could well be one very frail heartbeat away from the presidency come January, 2021.

If a Republican – any Republican – had said in 2012 what Abrams said on Friday, he’d have been mercilessly panned and ridiculed by every media outlet and late-night television host for weeks, and deservedly so. But let a barely-coherent Democrat loser say it, and all the media puppet heads just nod in unison like an array of bobble-head dolls.

And the 33% of our citizens who like to call themselves Democrats nod right along with them.

Sheep.

That is all.
