Trump Cancels California Rail Boondoggle Funding

Today’s Campaign Update, Part III
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

In a move that is certain to enrage the perpetually-enraged political left and our fake news media, the Trump Administration today moved to rescind a portion of the $3.5 billion in federal funds previously dedicated to California’s disastrous high-speed rail boondoggle.  In a letter to Brian Kelly, Director of the California High-Speed Rail Authority, Federal Railroad Administration Director Ronald Batory had this to say:

“This letter provides notice to the California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) that the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) intends to terminate Cooperative Agreement No. FR HSR-0118-12-01-01 (Agreement) effective March 5, 2019. Following termination, FRA also intends to promptly de-obligate the full $928,620,000 obligated under the Agreement.

FRA has determined that CHSRA has materially failed to comply with the terms of the Agreement and has failed to make reasonable progress on the Project (as defined in the Agreement), significantly endangering substantial performance . Considering this determination, FRA intends to exercise its right to terminate the Agreement, consistent with Section 23 of the Agreement.”

A link to the full document can be found here, but you get the drift.

In a February 19 tweet, President Trump made it clear, when California Governor Gavin Newsom canceled 2/3rds of the planned project, that he intends to rescind the entire $3.5 billion:

California has been forced to cancel the massive bullet train project after having spent and wasted many billions of dollars. They owe the Federal Government three and a half billion dollars. We want that money back now. Whole project is a “green” disaster!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 14, 2019

Newsom responded to the threat in typical haughty fashion with a tweet of his own:

Fake news. We’re building high-speed rail, connecting the Central Valley and beyond. This is CA’s money, allocated by Congress for this project. We’re not giving it back. The train is leaving the station — better get on board! (Also, desperately searching for some wall $$??) https://t.co/9hxEfEX8Vm

— Gavin Newsom (@GavinNewsom) February 14, 2019

Well, the ball is now in the Governor’s court. We can be sure the wailing will be loud, dishonest and totally coordinated with our fake news media. Because that’s how Democrats operate in America today.

That is all.

Watch Loser Stacey Abrams Self-Identify as a Viable Presidential Candidate

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Democrat Stacey Abrams, who still self-identifies herself as Georgia’s governor despite her 55,000-vote loss last November to Republican Brian Kemp, now self-identifies as a viable presidential candidate, despite not even being in the race.

Watch this clip of her interview on MSNBC from earlier today:

As a service to those of you who still like to read stuff, I spent 20 minutes of my own life compiling a verbatim transcript of this 52-second clip. I’ve also included another minute or so of dialogue from a longer version of the interview with MSNBC host Hallie Jackson, in order to give you a more, ummm, fullsome flavor of the self-absorbed also-ran’s thinking.

You gluttons for punishment can review the longer clip here. Warning: Most of the interview is all kinds of nonsense about Abrams’ current project to ensure that non-citizens of our nation are counted in next year’s census. If you’re interested in that, fine. If you aren’t, fast-forward to the 4:50 mark to focus on Ms. Abrams’ fantasy-based presidential aspirations.

Here’s the transcript:

=======================================

Hallie Jackson here. I want to ask you about another big issue. Are you prepared to shut the door on a presidential run right now?

Abrams: No, I’m not. Again, as I’ve said before, I’m watching to see what happens, I think we’ve got a robust crop of candidates and I think they’re having important conversations, but my mission is to make certain that we are keeping that attention focused all the way through the campaign. And so I’m gonna keep watching and decide if I need to jump in.

Jackson: You’ve said before that you’ll be willing to wait until September. Is that still the operative time line in your view? That’s late – you’ll miss out on talking to some people, some debates…

Abrams: Well I think the debates are an important part of the process, but the debates are new [huh?]. And while I think it’s a critical piece that can happen, I think that the, I can enter the conversation as late as the Fall and still have a real chance to…win.

Jackson: So this talk that continues – and I know you’ve spoken about it before – about being a potential vice presidential candidate, Beto O’Rourke for example is the most recent one who has floated your name, has anyone reached out to you about that?

Abrams: No one has reached out to me. And as I have said before, right now we should be focused on the presidential nominees and if I should decide to join the fray, then I look forward to being a robust competitor. After the determination has been made about who the Democratic nominee is, if I’m not that person for one reason or the other, I’m open to the conversation, but I think we need to have our conversations in sequential order, not at the same time.

=======================================

Ok, to sum up:

  • Abrams is not a candidate and is not planning to become one before at least September, by which time several debates will have already been held;
  • But she’s keeping an eye on those nasty real, actual candidates to make sure they are focused on her own priorities, which she doesn’t really identify here, but which most likely have to do with the “voter suppression” fantasy that she uses as her excuse for last year’s loss;
  • Despite the well-known fact that Joe Biden already tried to make a deal with her to be his running mate several weeks back, she is claiming that “no one has reached out to me” about that possibility yet;
  • But she’ll be interested in having that conversation once the Democrat nominee has been determined, assuming it isn’t her, and she’s not a candidate, at least not yet and maybe never but who knows? Or something.

Honestly, is there a more self-absorbed and self-deluded self-identifying leftist in the entire country?  My goodness.

That is all.

Biden’s Fading, Beto’s Flailing, and DeBlasio’s Just Wasting Everyone’s Time

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

I know it’s a repugnant subject, but let’s talk Democrat politics this morning. – First, we’ve had Irish Bob O’Rourke re-boot his failed campaign this week, and boy what a massive fail that has been. As part of his “reintroduction to America”, he live-streamed himself having a haircut and massage! I swear I do not make this stuff up.:

Oh, he also appeared with the four nagging, substance-devoid shrews on The View, which I suppose meant that Tuesday’s episode of The View actually featured five nagging, substance-devoid shrews. There, he apologized for his being white, male and privileged, and the very next day he’s got a video up of him having a hair cut and massage.  Why do I get the feeling that, before the week is over, Irish Bob is going to announce that next week he will re-re-boot his failed campaign?

Here’s the amazing thing about that video: Some supposedly “professional” campaign advisors told Irish Bob that that was just a fab-o idea. Well, they probably didn’t use the term “fab-o” since they’re probably all under the age of 80 or so, but still.

Seriously, who in their right mind would think that this is a good look for their candidate? No wonder Donald Trump decided not to listen to such “professional” advisors during his 2015-16 campaign.

Speaking of truly awful political ideas… – Bill DeBlasio is now a candidate for president! Aren’t y’all thrilled out there in Flyover Country? Yeah, neither are the people whose lives he has helped to make miserable – the citizens of New York City – 76% of whom told a pollster this week that their communist Mayor really should not go down this road.

The James-Comey-tall Mayor first announced his candidacy at a Monday event Trump Tower, which some idiot told him was a very clever idea. That is, until he was mocked by protesters riding down the escalator behind him carrying pro-Trump signs. How is it that none of these campaign “professionals” thought that it might be a lousy idea to place their candidate in front of a public escalator?

The Marxist Mayor then traveled to Iowa for a kickoff rally. There, the people who printed the signage for the event misspelled his name as “DiBlasio”. Since only a few dozen showed for the event – and who knows how many of them could even read – it didn’t really much matter.

In any event, DeBlasio joins New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand as Empire State presidential candidates who have literally no rationale at all for entering this race. They will both leave the race without having won a single delegate to next year’s national convention.

Hey, there’s nobody in the field named George yet – maybe he should run, too! – Over in London, dimwitted actor George Clooney told the assembled press that “we are facing a pretty absurd time in our lives.” No word if he was referring to the 2020 Democrat presidential field, but he should have been.

The Biden Juggernaut is already fading. – When Joe Biden kicked off his campaign at the first of May, I told you that he would experience the best polling numbers of the entire campaign season in the first 2-3 weeks following his announcement. Sure enough, he did put up some phenomenal numbers in the first few polls issued early this month, rising to as high as 46% support in a poll put out by The Hill and 44% in the Harvard/Harris poll. Very impressive given the number of candidates in the field.

But very predictably, the bloom is already coming off the Biden rose, as the excitement among the deluded Democrat voter base fades and the reality of the energy-devoid, elderly candidate-who-has-been-wrong-about-everything-for-half-a-century sets in.

We’ve seen two new polls this week, and Biden is sub-40% in both, sitting at 39% in Morning Consult and 33% in the Emerson poll. The Emerson poll is the most current, having been conducted from May 10 through May 14.

Karl Rove, whose political analyses stopped being in any way relevant along about April of 2015, was on Fox News on Wednesday marveling at Biden’s 23-point lead over The Commie in the also no-longer-relevant RealClearPolitics average of polls, but that lead will be down to less than 10 in a month, and will be completely gone by October.

Joe Biden is this cycle’s Jeb! Bush, the guy with all the establishment support, a ton of money, zero energy and, at the end of the day, zero appeal to the people who actually vote in these nominating primaries. I still think his campaign ought to just start calling him Joe! and get it all over with.

That is all.

Watch John Brennan Desperately try to Set a Favorable Narrative, and Fail

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

The cornered rats are really scurrying for cover this week, and ex-CIA Director Dar Adol, er, John Brennan provided today’s best example in an interview with MSNBC’s favorite pet fake Republican, former Jeb! Bush operative Nicolle Wallace. During the course of this brief interview, Brennan admits that the CIA was indeed “coordinating closely” with the FBI in its spying operation that targeted Trump Campaign officials, and continued to push the narrative that none of this obvious spying was in fact “spying.” *sigh*

Here’s the clip:

As a service to those of you who still like to read stuff, I spent 20 minutes of my life transcribing this clip verbatim. I’ve also inserted comments contained within [ ] noting Brennan’s body language, which clearly indicates he is lying throughout this clip and is very self-conscious and frankly transparent about it. Here you go.

======================================

Nicolle Wallace: Who uses the word “spying” to describe lawful surveillance in a counterintelligence probe, other than Sean Hannity [snicker, snicker]?

Brennan: [clears throat] um,uh well William Barr, uh, clearly, and uh I think Donald Trump as well.

Wallace: Why?

Brennan: uh, well, [closed eyes, hunched shoulders] I think they’re clearly trying [smiling with corners of mouth turned down] to, uh, imply, and to really [hunched shoulders, tucked chin, wiggling in seat] you know, uh,uh, indicate that there was uh, misuse [nods head, affirming the misuse] of authorities…that was not the case [nods head again].

Does CIA ‘spy’? Yes. [nods head, affirming the spying] uh, do we spy against our foreign adversaries? Yes. [nods again] Do we spy against domestic individuals? No, we do not [nods head repeatedly during this, indicating deception]. We cuw…we worked very closely [hunched shoulders] with the FBI[he just admitted CIA coordinated with the FBI to spy on the Trump Campaign], and when the Russians were trying to interfere in that election, and to change the outcome of it in their favor, we, the CIA and FBI, worked very collaboratively so that we could have that ability to see what the Russians were doing and who they were working with.

So when William Barr said ‘spying’, it clearly indicated that there was something that was inappropriate, if not illegal [nods head]. Nobody used the term spying when they’re referring to legitimate, predicated, authorized investigative actions that were part of the FBI. [Note how he leaves out the CIA in that passage.]

Wallace: Why do you think he uses it? Is it taunting, does it signal to the intelligence community that he’s coming for you? Does it signal that he’s watched too much Sean Hannity? What does that word mean inside the intelligence community?

Brennan: Well I think he’s playing to Mr. Trump. I think throughout that testimony it was clear that what Mr. Barr was doing was try to say things and to try to characterize things [rapid eye-blinking throughout this] in a manner that was consistent with what Mr. Trump has said, but also very supportive of it. So, eh, and wh…and when he responded to Kamala Harris and others on these issues [looks down and to the left] he thought about it and they asked him, well, was there spying? Well, well yeah, there was.[!]

Well, to me that really suggests that he already is [hunches shoulders, wiggles in seat, looks down and to the left] looking at things that w..uh..[hunches shoulders, nods head] really did not happen. It was predicated, it was legal, it was authorized [oh, so it DID happen?]. So if they want to take a look at the FISA practices [shakes head throughout] look at other things? [hunches shoulders, shakes head] uh, that’s legitimate. There is a question about whether or not there’s gonna be all these competing investigations and how that’s gonna suck the air out of that whole environment [oh, like the past two years for example?] But it’s clear in my mind [looking down and to the left] that what Mr. Barr was suggesting was that the FBI [and the CIA?] was engaged in politically-motivated spying against one of the candidates.

=================================

So, over the last 10 days or so, we have seen Sally Yates, James Comey, James Baker, James Clapper and now John Brennan making very public efforts to create a favorable narrative for their behavior during 2016. This is being done in advance of the pending public release of the Horowitz Report on FISA abuse, and amid news of the advance of AG William Barr’s own investigation into the origins of the spying operation against the Trump Campaign. We’ve also seen Comey and Rod Rosenstein sniping at one another in public, and Comey and Brennan pointing fingers at each other over which of them insisted upon including the Steele Dossier in their FISA applications.

This is clearly a coordinated effort among these likely suspects, and may well indicate that a draft of the final Horowitz report began circulating about two weeks ago, sending the people named in it into a panic.

It seems to me that someone really should remind all of these skunks that they have the right to remain silent.

That is all.

The Democrat/Media Smear Machine Shifts Into Overdrive

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

It’s gonna be all-smear all the time at CNN and MSNBC. – You can always tell what the fake news media’s marching orders from the DNC are on any given day by looking at what they’re doing on Twitter. Especially in the evenings, Twitter is always the leading indicator of where the next day’s narrative will be going.

Last night, we got this little gem from @CNNPolitics:

That “federal prosector” is, of course, Connecticut U.S. Attorney John Durham, who has been tapped by Attorney General William Barr to lead his investigation into the origins of the massive 2016 effort mounted by the FBI to spy on and entrap members of the Trump Campaign and Trump Transition team. Durham does indeed come to the task with an “apolitical” reputation thanks to decades of major accomplishments in both Republican and Democrat administrations.

It is that reputation that CNN, MSNBC and the rest of the Democrat/Media smear machine will now go about trying to tarnish any way they possibly can. They will do this not because there is anything wrong with Mr. Durham or what he is attempting to accomplish, but because they themselves are a pack of frightened, cornered rats with nowhere else to go.

So, today’s first attack on Durham will be that he is now being used as a sword by the Bad Orange Man in the Oval Office who tarnishes everyone around him. Likely suspect James Comey, our national Teenage Drama Queen, set that narrative up in his conveniently-scheduled “townhall” on – guess where? – CNN last week, and the rest of the Democrats and media have slavishly grasped onto it and parrotted it ever since.

In this world view, everyone around the President becomes corrupted by his personal aura. Thus, William Barr is corrupt; thus, John Durham must also be corrupt. See how that works? Convenient, right? It’s like Climate Change theory, where everything that happens, regardless of what it is, can be blamed on a handy catch-all bogeyman.

While that narrative is ongoing, the next step is for the New York Times and Washington Post to assign a small army of fake reporters and research staff to dig into every aspect of Durham’s background and personal life in an effort to find something else – preferably something real, but that’s not a requirement –  with which to smear his reputation. If that effort fails, they will just fall back on publishing fake stories that rely on their standard “unidentified sources” to do the job.

This is all right there in the Democrat/media playbook, their second-most-used tactic, right behind the always-reliable “projection.”

The other big thing that happened on Twitter last night was that the hashtag #LindseyGrahamResign was trending for several hours. This little bit of social media shaming popped up after Graham introduced a bill that would actually be a great approach to helping alleviate the ongoing invasion at our Southern border by allowing the Trump Administration to hold aliens making dubious asylum claims for 100 days rather than having to just release them into the population after 20 days.

That makes all kinds of sense given that 87% of these illegals never show up for their scheduled adjudication hearings. The extra 80 days would give the system time to process them and send well over 90% of them back to their country of origin once it is determined they have no legitimate claim to asylum in the United States.

But the Democrats can’t have that, because they view these illegal immigrants as a huge future voter bloc. So, now Lindsey Graham must be shamed and smeared by the Democrat/media smear machine.

Really, this is threatening to get out of hand for the bad guys, since they already have so many other smears ongoing. They have to keep smearing President Trump; they and fake Republican Sen. Richard Burr feel the need to keep smearing Don, Jr.; they’ve been going after Barr since they figured out that he wasn’t the deep state plant they all hoped he would become; they’re mounting this budding campaign against Durham and now will go after their former 2nd-favorite Republican squish (when he was following John McCain around like a puppy on a leash) Lindsey Graham?

Man, that’s a lot of smearing to get done. Even on 24-hour cable news channels, that’s really stretching the available air time.

So, they’re going to have to crank the smear machine into overdrive. If you are planning to travel through our nation’s airports, where you will become part of CNN’s captive audience, you might want to invest in a good set of earplugs.

That is all.

Don’t Give Rosenstein a Pass Just Because He Went off on Comey

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

This video clip of Rod Rosenstein riffing on Teenage Drama Queen James Comey has been making the rounds of Twitter and the fake news media all day:

Very clever. Very funny, in that sniffling, slimy Rosenstein kind of way. He nails Comey’s behavior and low character, and that’s great. So, I got no problem with that.

I do, however, have a problem with the conservative commentariate turning this into a reason to make Rosenstein into some sort of a hero on all of this. Because Rod Rosenstein is the farthest thing from a hero.

Rosenstein made these remarks in the context of his being the guy who wrote the famous memo to President Donald Trump recommending Comey be fired. For that commendable act, he is certainly to be praised to some extent.

But let’s remember several things about Rosenstein, including his reasons for recommending Comey be fired, which was basically that he didn’t like the way Comey grandstanded throughout the election campaign, usurping decisions and powers that should have been reserved to Attorney General Loretta Lynch. Of course, Lynch was so corrupt that she wasn’t going to make those decisions in any event, but Rosenstein was correct to say that that did not convey the right to make them onto Comey.

Let’s also remember what parts of Comey’s conduct that Rosenstein was NOT concerned about. Despite having full knowledge at that point about Comey’s disgraceful corruption of the “investigation” into the Clinton email scandal, Rosenstein cited no objection. Despite his full knowledge then of Comey’s mounting an effort to spy on the Trump Campaign and Trump Transition team (remember that Trump was fully aware of these things as early as late November, 2016), Rosenstein cited no objection.

Despite having full knowledge by then of the heinous abuse of the FISA process by Comey’s FBI, Rosenstein cited no objection to any of that. Matter of fact, Rosenstein was so unconcerned about the use of the fraudulent Steele Dossier as the basis for those FISA warrants – a usage that Comey himself admitted to in sworn congressional testimony – that Rosenstein actually signed the third extension application himself!

Next, Rosenstein made the likely illegal decision to appoint a special counsel to investigate allegations of “Trump/Russia Collusion” despite the conspicuous absence of any underlying crime, a requirement of such appointments.  His pick to lead the probably-illegal Witch Hunt was Robert Mueller, a man who is not only a close friend of Rosenstein himself, but also a close friend of Comey, a key witness to any such investigation, the clearest conflicts of interest possible, and clearly disqualifying.

Rosenstein then signed not only one, but two scoping letters to Mueller that he has since worked feverishly to keep out of public view, most likely because those letters also contain clear violations of the special counsel statutes. He then spent a year and a half allowing Mueller to destroy the lives of dozens of American citizens and basically conduct himself as if he were head of an American Gestapo.

There’s much, much more here, but we’ve been through all of this several times before.

Bottom line, let’s all have a good laugh at Comey’s expense, since he is even more despicable than Rosenstein. But let’s don’t forget what a despicable snake Rosenstein truly is while we’re chuckling.

That is all.

William Barr Takes the Next Big Step

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Who is John Durham and why should you care? – Good question, and certainly not one I’d ever thought about before last night. That was when the New York Times published an article that appears to be actually true – who’d ‘a thunk it? – containing the news that Attorney General William Barr has appointed Mr. Durham, the U.S. Attorney from Connecticut, to oversee the origins of the Obama Administration’s multi-faceted spying operation targeting the Trump Campaign

Here’s an excerpt from that piece:

WASHINGTON — Attorney General William P. Barr has assigned the top federal prosecutor in Connecticut to examine the origins of the Russia investigation, according to two people familiar with the matter, a move that President Trump has long called for but that could anger law enforcement officials who insist that scrutiny of the Trump campaign was lawful.

John H. Durham, the United States attorney in Connecticut, has a history of serving as a special prosecutor investigating potential wrongdoing among national security officials, including the F.B.I.’s ties to a crime boss in Boston and accusations of C.I.A. abuses of detainees.

His inquiry is the third known investigation focused on the opening of an F.B.I. counterintelligence investigation during the 2016 presidential campaign into possible ties between Russia’s election interference and Trump associates.

The department’s inspector general, Michael E. Horowitz, is separately examining investigators’ use of wiretap applications and informants and whether any political bias against Mr. Trump influenced investigative decisions. And John W. Huber, the United States attorney in Utah, has been reviewing aspects of the Russia investigation. His findings have not been announced.

Additionally on Capitol Hill, Senator Lindsey Graham, Republican of South Carolina and chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has said he, too, intends to review aspects of law enforcement’s work in the coming months. And Republicans conducted their own inquiries when they controlled the House, including publicizing details of the F.B.I.’s wiretap use.

[End excerpt]

Lots to unpack here.

First, if you’re worried that the assignment of the investigation to Durham is just another head-fake/delaying tactic by a corrupt Justice Department, that concern is well-founded given all the previous head-fakes and delaying tactics we’ve seen over the past couple of years. After all, a full year and a half has gone by since feckless former AG Jeff Sessions said he was assigning Salt Lake City U.S. Attorney John Huber to conduct an investigation into many aspects of the Russia Collusion fantasy, and we have yet to hear boo out of him or see any real indication he’s done a damn thing in that regard.

But of course, that was Jeff Sessions and now we have William Barr in the AG job. Hopefully, that makes a difference. Barr was always going to assign this investigation to someone under his supervision – it was either that or appoint another special counsel to do it, and assigning it to a U.S. Attorney gives Barr fuller control over the direction of the process. That’s either a good or a bad thing depending entirely on what Barr’s real intentions are.

Barr has certainly given us every indication he is a real AG focused on enforcing the rule of law and bringing the real bad actors in all of this to justice, which is why we have seen all the Democrats and their media toadies in such a panic in recent weeks. Justice is the last thing those people want to see.

At any rate, any major undertaking like this requires a focal point to lead it, and Durham is Barr’s pick to do it. It is encouraging that Durham was originally brought into the Justice Department during the Reagan Administration in 1982, and was appointed to his current position by Donald Trump in 2017. It is also encouraging that he has not been a creature of the Washington, DC Swamp, serving the majority of his career in Connecticut with a four year period as the Acting U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia from 2008-12.

If you’re concerned that this will be another Huber-like year-and-a-half-long head-fake that gets us to the November, 2020 election with nothing to show for it, there is also reason for optimism that that won’t be the case. Given the flurry of self-serving media appearances we have seen from likely suspects like James Comey, James Baker, John Brennan and Sally Yates over the past couple of weeks, it appears likely that the upcoming report on FISA abuse from DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz has been making the rounds and might well contain criminal referrals.

Yeah, Horowitz took a powder on doing that in last year’s report on the FBI’s conduct of the Clinton email investigation, but that was when Sessions was AG. Hopefully, the presence of a real AG will embolden the IG’s office to do the right thing. It’s easier to confront powerful people when you know you have powerful people backing you up.

Let’s say that happens, and let’s recognize that Durham will also be armed with multiple criminal referrals from various congressional committees that have been issued to the Justice Department over the last year. Armed with the results of the multiple Horowitz investigations and all the data accumulated by the congressional investigations over the past two years, Durham should be able to move to the indictment and prosecution phase fairly rapidly if that is his real goal here.

Let’s be painfully honest: We know who the bad actors in all of this really were. The public record already accumulated is crystal clear on this. All that has been lacking to this point is a real Attorney General and a set of diligent prosecutors who were willing to act on behalf of the public interest and uphold the rule of law.

With Rod Rosenstein’s exit from DOJ, the last of the known obstructionists to justice is now gone. Well, except for FBI Director Christopher Wray, anyway. All we the people can do now is wait and pray they haven’t been replaced by a new set of obstructionists.

It won’t take long to figure that out.

That is all.

Lunatic Freshmen Women are Killing the Democrat Party

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Everyone is talking about lunatic congressional freshmen women today, and none of it is good. That’s really nothing all that new, but when Democrats have reached the point where their members of congress are even being slammed on CNN of all places, you know they have a problem. Watch this clip:

In addition to their exploding antisemitism problem personified by Tlaib and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, the Democrats have obviously gotten some very bad polling data about their religion of Climate Change, and the insane “Green New Deal” being pushed by New York congressnitwit Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

That’s the only reasonable conclusion to reach when you see AOC issuing this tweet over the weekend:

But there is no doubt at all that the former Bronx bartender was dead serious when she issued this tweet in April:

I’m sooooo serious, y’all!  OMG!

So, what has changed in the four weeks since that tweet was sent? Well, we know that every decision Democrats make is based on focus groups and polling data, so the obvious answer is that the “Green New Deal” and its 12-year “deadline” (her word, not anyone else’s) is being panned by the voters. When the polling goes south on any issue being pushed by the Democrats, the talking points must change. Thus, what was a hard “deadline” on April 17 becomes “O.M.G., y’all!  I was like totes kidding and stuff about that whole 12-year thing, or something!”

Let’s be painfully honest here: AOC has no clue what the word ‘sarcasm’ even means, would not know ‘dry humor’ if it snuck up and bit her on the, ummmm, ankle. Or something.

As for Tlaib and her latest despicably antisemitic remarks over the weekend, well, here they are in case you missed them:

“There’s always kind of a calming feeling I tell folks when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors — Palestinians — who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people’s passports. And just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time. And I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right, in many ways. But they did it in a way that took their human dignity away and it was forced on them.”

So, here’s a woman who gets a “calming feeling” when she thinks about an event in history in which more than 6 million Jews were exterminated by the Nazis and their collaborators. Oh, and their collaborators included the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Muhammad Amin al-Husayni, who happened to be the leader of the loosely-allied Arabs in the Middle East who called themselves “Palestinians.”

There was no effort on the part of Tlaib’s “ancestors” to “create a safe haven for Jews” during this period of time. In fact, Jewish people had begun migrating back into the region in the early 1880s, and of course have a long history in that part of world dating back thousands of years.

In fact, the Arab world – including the “Palestinians” in the region – rabidly opposed the creation of a Jewish state after World War II had ended, and refused to cooperate with it in any way. In 1964, these “Palestinians” – created the Palestinian Liberation Army and began conducting terror attacks on Jewish citizens in Israel.

The first leader of the PLO was a Lebanese national named Ahmad Shukeiri. In 1969, the PLO chose as its leader an Egyptian national, Yassir Arafat, not for his peaceful intentions but for his skills in conducting terrorist warfare. In 2006, Palestinians elected to be ruled by the terrorist organization known as Hamas, which still rules them today.

These are not “peaceful” people who voluntarily gave up land or anything else to “help” post-war Jews. That “calming feeling” Tlaib experiences when contemplating the barbaric deaths of 6 million Jews is based on a politically-motivated myth.

But Tlaib, along with AOC and fellow raging anti-Semite Ilhan Omar, are the new, ugly faces of today’s Democrat Party. And it seems that no matter what they say, no matter how repugnant their public declarations become, Nancy Pelosi will do nothing to discipline them.

Why? Simple: The repugnant, ugly, fantasy-based views they express are in fact mainstream thought in today’s Democrat Party. The reality is that these freshmen women are killing the Democrat Party not because of the insane things they believe, but because they so bluntly and frequently express them in public.

If you are Jewish and you vote for these people, you do so at your own peril. Then again, that holds true for all of us, and has for a long time now.

That is all.

Meet the New Beto, Same as the Old Beto

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Today’s Public Service Announcement! – The “World’s Fastest Train” has been unveiled in Japan, y’all! Guess what? It is designed to sail along at speeds up to … wait for it… 224 miles per hour! Which is, lessee here…. almost half as fast as the average airliner. Almost. Oh, and it won’t be operational until the year 2030, which is coincidentally the year before Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tells us we’re all going to burn up and die if we don’t get rid of air travel and replace it millions of miles of rail lines.

Dear Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other fans of her appeal to abject nitwits, the Green New Deal: This dog don’t hunt. Just thought I’d remind you. Plus, it’s stupid-looking. Seriously, it looks like something out of a 1960s-era cartoon:

Dubbed the Alfa-X, it is capable of reaching speeds of up to 224 mph and consists of ten carriages. Its sleek silver design is matched by its incredible long and pointed nose which stretches for 72 feet n front of it (pictured)

Don’t look now, but Irish Bob O’Rourke is about to “reintroduce” himself again. – But the crucial question is, will the mental teenagers in our fake news media fall in love with their former heartthrob one more time?

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, text

The smart money says ‘no’ – it’s really hard to recreate the magic of that first high school crush. Once the bad breakup occurs, there is rarely any going back.

After Irish Bob let it be known late last week that he plans to “launch” his flagging presidential campaign one more time, I’ve been watching to see which U.S. national publication would be the first to do yet another fawning “profile” of him, complete with nasty comments about Ted Cruz, descriptions of El Paso and/or West Texas as “dusty”, misrepresentations about the origins of the fake nickname he gave to himself, and the required comparisons to some Kennedy or another. Would it be Vanity Fair one more time? Might Rolling Stone jump in again? How about the New York Times or the Washington Post? They’ve all done it before – would they find the waters to be still warm and give their ex-boyfriend another date to the local Pizza Hut?

Uh, no. As it turns out, the O’Rourke campaign apparently was unable to even catch coffee at Starbucks with any of its fake journalist exes, having to resort instead to grabbing a sandwich at Wichy Wich with some reporter from the UK Guardian. And what a soggy sandwich it turns out to be, which is only fitting for such a horrifically-run campaign.

Oh, the piece has the required “dusty” reference contained in literally every profile ever done about Irish Bob, when it describes El Paso as “the dusty, sunbaked border town in Texas where he was born”. The writer even goes so far as to outright lie about the fake nickname, calling O’Rourke “the tall white guy with the funny first name” in the piece’s opening paragraph. My goodness, the piece even makes the jump to include a quote from one of Irish Bob’s teenage flames (no doubt referred to him by the O’Rourke campaign), someone named Maggie Asfahani, who makes her living as – guess what? – a writer!  Because of course she does.

As if it is helpful, Asfahani says she is responsible for the famous photo of Irish Bob wearing a dress in a promo for his punk band, Foss: “I want to put on the record, that is my dress he’s wearing,” she said.

Oh.

No doubt the O’Rourke campaign had longed for the standard puff piece that their candidate has become used to receiving from the national U.S. media and Texas-based outlets like the Texas Tribune and Houston Chronicle, but this one does not fit the U.S. media’s cut-n-paste mold. There is no comparison to anyone named Kennedy, and the Guardian’s piece is otherwise a fairly objective recital of O’Rourke’s political history and inconsistencies.

Not the launch – or re-launch – our hero was seeking.

Like everything else Irish Bob has done since losing his Texas senate race against Senator Cruz last November, this “re-introduction” comes too late, and displays nothing more prominently than a singular lack of situational awareness on this part.

In politics, it is crucial for a candidate to strike while the iron is hot, an aspect of the game that Donald Trump understands better than any national figure since Bill Clinton. Last November, the media’s best boyfriend could have made himself into an instant front-runner in the Democrat nomination race by announcing his candidacy the day after his loss.

Yes, doing that would have been ‘too soon’ and ‘presumptuous’ according to the conventional wisdom. But O’Rourke’s image at that time was made by being presumptuous and going against the conventional grain. By dawdling around and waiting to announce his campaign in March, he traded that image for one of being indecisive and unreliable, which is pretty much his life’s history.

And that’s it – he can’t get that back. The opportunity to stand out in the race is now gone – the field is too crowded and the fickle teen-mentality media has moved on to other crushes. If you want a comparison to 2016 and the crowded GOP field that sought the nomination, Irish Bob is this cycle’s Scott Walker, the “hot” candidate who everyone thought at one point would be that year’s BIG DEAL, but never was.

Walker left the 2016 race before it ever actually even got to 2016, ending his dead-broke candidacy in September of 2015, after just two months of debates in which he had utterly failed to make a good impression. Irish Bob is probably too self-absorbed and clueless to make a similarly-fast exit from the stage, but he might as well.

He’s done.

That is all.
