Watch These Texas Pre-K Kids Sing the National Anthem

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

If this doesn’t give you hope for America’s future, nothing will. – Because our granddaughters were doing a little cheerleading during the pre-game show, the Little Wifey and I attended the early part of the game between Mansfield Legacy and Mansfield High last night.

For the national anthem, they displayed this video on the stadium’s video screen. It’s the most precious, most unabashedly patriotic thing I’ve seen in a long, long time. Thank you, Mansfield ISD, for putting it together.

God Bless America.

That is all.

Trey Gowdy Warns Us Not To Expect Any BOOM From The Horowitz FISA Report

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

In case you missed it, plodding, thus-far-inept DOJ IG Michael Horowitz sent a letter to congress yesterday notifying key committee chairs that he has finally, at long last, completed the initial draft if his eons-awaited report on FISA abuse. The report now goes to Attorney General William Barr and swamp rat FBI Director Christopher Wray to begin the internal review process. That process will likely consume another month or so, maybe even longer, before the public will finally, at long last, be able to see the fruits of Horowitz’s glacially-paced labors.

This, of course will set the stage for all manner of leaking and self-puffery by the subjects of the IG’s report, including John Brennan, James Comey, James Clapper, Peter Strzok and Andrew McCabe, to name just a few of the Usual Suspects who the public record already available clearly demonstrates defrauded the FISA court repeatedly during 2016-17.

It also sets the stage for wild anticipation and irrational optimism among Trump supporters who have been paying attention to all of this that Horowitz is somehow about to deliver the goods on all the participants in the Obama DOJ/FBI Cabal, the foundation that will result in all of them being tried for treason and shipped off to prison for the rest of their lives.

Like clockwork, former prosecutor and ex-congressman Trey Gowdy appeared on Sean Hannity’s show last night to caution everyone to cool your heels and tamp down your expectations. Below is a video clip of that appearance, with a partial transcript to follow:

Here’s a partial transcript for those of you who still like to read stuff:

Gowdy: “It’s hard to convince 12 people of anything – I used to have to do that for a living. It’s tough. You’ve gotta dot every I and cross every T.

“Candidly, it is more difficult if it is a high-profile defendant. So, if they go forward with McCabe, it’s going to be a tough trial. You don’t want the U.S. government going to trial and losing on a regular basis. They lost the Greg Craig case, and that’s not good. If you’re going to go to trial, you need to win.”

Hannity shifts the subject to the IG Report producing indictments:

Gowdy: “You have to find a criminal statute if your objective is indictment. That is why I’m very clear every time I appear on your show that we cannot live in a society where an indictment is the only thing that carries any stigma [valid point there –  more on that at the bottom of this piece].

“Most of the names in this FISA abuse process have already been fired or publicly called to task. Jim Comey, twice now, the IG said ‘you did not meet our expectations. You failed to follow policy. You violated your employment agreement.’ All of that has to be significant.

“I used to try to make representations in court, and I tried real hard to be honest and fair about it. But let’s assume that I didn’t tell the court something. The remedy for me is not indictment. The remedy is I may lose my law license, I may be held in contempt.”

[Hannity interrupts, which is what he is good at, but makes a good point about the use of the unverified Dossier as the basis for the FISA warrants being a conscious fraud on the court, which it was. Repeatedly.]

Gowdy: “Well, if you were a lawyer, you’d lose your law license, and the court could hold you in contempt. You would be held in contempt of court, absolutely and you can go to jail for that. But I don’t know that lawyers who make factual misrepresentations in front of judges get indicted. You’re gonna get punished, you’re gonna be held in contempt, you may get sent to prison.

“I’m not minimizing anything they’ve done. I’m saying we’ve gotta attach the right punishment to the right offense.”

[Hannity visibly angry now: “But by signing that, they’re denying an American citizen their constitutional rights. They’re literally using that lie to spy on a presidential candidate, and then transition.”]

Gowdy: “Aha! We’ve identified a statute! Using the color of a government official – it could be a 1983 action. And that’s all I’m saying – we have gotta match up the conduct with an official code violation. What you just laid out is a 1983 violation.  Now, we’re getting somewhere!” [Note: U.S. Code Sec. 1983 allows prosecutors to pursue a civil action against anyone acting “under color of law” to deprive an American citizen of their civil rights. It is not a criminal statute.]

[Hannity: “I’ll send you Greg Jarrett’s list, he’s identified a whole bunch of violations.”]

Gowdy: “Don’t sent it to me, send it to Bill Barr.”

[Hannity dissembles about not knowing Barr. Interview ends.]

So, if you’ve been reading all those Twitter-based tick-tock conspiracy mongers and and watching Hannity air the same program every night for the last 18 months, leading you to believe the IG’s report was going to lower the BOOM on all the participants in the Obama Cabal, well, sorry. Trey Gowdy, a former prosecutor who never lost a case is here to tell you to dampen those expectations and go watch some football this weekend instead.

Finally, let’s review this passage of Gowdy’s comments:

“That is why I’m very clear every time I appear on your show that we cannot live in a society where an indictment is the only thing that carries any stigma [valid point there –  more on that at the bottom of this piece].

“Most of the names in this FISA abuse process have already been fired or publicly called to task. Jim Comey, twice now, the IG said ‘you did not meet our expectations. You failed to follow policy. You violated your employment agreement.’ All of that has to be significant.”

Of course, Gowdy’s absolutely right there. Public stigma used to be a vital aspect of punishing bad actors like the Cabal participants whenever the government couldn’t succeed in actually prosecuting them under criminal statutes.

The problem, though, is that that stigma no longer exists for anyone who is opposed to President Donald Trump. That stigma can only exist if our society has a real, working news media establishment that is willing to lay out the truth of their acts to the public and shame them for it. Our fake new media no longer serves that function related to anyone opposed to Trump. In fact, those bad actors are not only NOT shamed by the media, many of them are handsomely rewarded by the media with big “contributor” contracts. Witness Andrew McCabe, John Brennan, James Clapper as prime examples.

Peter Strzok and Comey were fired, but then were rewarded by the media with big book deals. Strzok and McCabe were both able to collect hundreds of thousands of dollars from demented leftists when they set-up online funds for their legal defense. On and on the depravity on the political left and in our fake news media goes.

So, while what Gowdy says there used to be correct in a U.S. society of decades ago, it is utterly irrelevant in today’s world. Absent indictments – or, as Gowdy repeatedly implies in this interview, being held in contempt by the FISA court and spending jail time for that – all of these co-conspirators will just keep laughing all the way to the bank with money largely provided them by our fake news media.

Sad, but true.

That is all.

Why Won’t These Elderly Democrats Retire?

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

First, some absurdity.

NFL Quarterback, 1964:

NFL Quarterback, 2019:

No commentary necessary.

In case you missed it, San Fran Nan had another procedure during the August recess. Her eyebrows are now closer to her receding hairline than they are to her retinas:

Image

Also in case you missed it, watch as Joe Biden damn near loses his teeth while trying to answer a question at Thursday’s debate:

Which raises the eternal question: Why won’t these people ever retire? San Fran Nan is 79 years-old and still desperately clinging to her power. Biden is almost 77 and running a destined-to-miserable-failure race for the presidency. Both of these Democrat “leaders” often look and act like they barely know where they are at any given point in time.

And they’re not really exceptional compared to many of their colleagues. Bernie Sanders is almost 78. Patrick Leahy is 79. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer is 80. House Majority Whip James Clyburn is 79. Stolen valor Sen. Richard Blumenthal is 73. Dickie Durbin is 74. Dianne Feinstein is a whopping 86 and still clinging to the hope she’ll be able to confiscate all your guns. Hillary Clinton is still plotting a behind the scenes at age 71 to find a way to steal the Democrat presidential nomination if there is a contested convention next year.

Hillary, by the way, is the same age as Uncle Cy Robertson:

Image result for uncle cy i'm in my prime gif

What is it that keeps these fossils hanging around? Why won’t they gracefully step aside and let the younger generation take over?  Is it the narcotic of political power? Is it the strange ability of “public servants” making about $170,000 per year to somehow accumulate hundreds of millions of dollars in wealth over the span of their careers? In the case of the Clintons, is it out of a sense of desperation as they try to find ways to avoid the wheels of justice catching up to them?

Whatever the motivation is, it’s a strong one. I’m 63, in very good health, and I’d frankly be thrilled to death to just hang up my spurs completely, get a home on a Caribbean island, and sit on my lanai watching the waves and sipping rum punches for the rest of my days.

But these elderly folks appear anxious to spend 2/3rds of their time glad-handing and fundraising and continuing to work unending 16-hour days. You have to admire their energy, even if  they do spend it on their tireless efforts to destroy American society.

That is all.

The Democrat Clown Car is on the Fast Track to a Brokered Convention

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Are you ready for a deadlocked Democrat convention next year? – Because that’s where all of this Democrat traveling clown show is headed.

Fauxcahontas is now an even more-clear favorite to get to the convention with the most delegates next July, although her chances of arriving there with a full majority needed to win on the first ballot remain small. Hell, she’s already playing the role of the front-runner in the debates.

Last night in Houston, she stood quietly for the most part while also-ran doofuses like Irish Bob O’Rourke and Julian Castro and Amy Klobuchar and Andrew Yang shouted and gesticulated and poured out the “I’m gonna grab your guns” and “Trump’s a racist” red meat for the party’s lunatic Twitter-outraged base. During the debate’s first hour, almost 20 minutes went by in between times when Little Mouth Always Running actually opened her mouth on stage, as all the nitwits around her tried to tear each other apart. That could be an all-time record for Princess 1/1024th.

While Yang was promising to have his campaign illegally pay out $1,000 a month for the next 12 months to twelve families in order to buy their votes, Preacher Pete was trying to get everybody to sing his own particular weird version of Kumbaya, Castro was cracking jokes about Biden’s advanced age, The Commie was trying to croak out some Bolshevik nostrums from his 77 year-old sore throat, Kamala was cackling like an evil character from a 1950s Disney movie, O’Rourke was promising to come grab everybody’s guns and trying to figure out exactly when to toss out an f-bomb and Klobuchar was getting ready to start throwing notebooks at the moderators, the fake Indian was doing her best imitation of Sitting Bull, calmly observing the fray and happy to let her enemies destroy one another.

It was a smart strategy. Whatever else one thinks about Sen. Warren, you cannot deny that she’s strategically smart. I mean, hell, she spent a virtual lifetime pretending to be someone she isn’t in order to advance her career before Trump came along and exposed her fraud to the world. That alone tells you she’s a clever schemer.

She’s clever enough to understand that being a life-long fraud is in fact a badge of honor in a Democrat presidential nominating contest, and so there she was last night, standing right in the middle of that stage next to Biden. She probably came into last night planning to take some shots of her own at Biden, but quickly realized that Castro and Harris and other were doing a fine job of exposing the elderly hack for what he is.

That quick thinking also shows she knows her own limitations. She has to understand that her angry school-marm voice and speaking tone quickly begins to grate and irritate, so why overdo that during a 3-hour debate that was viewed by millions?

As for Biden, if it weren’t for the fact that he’s been such a despicable swamp creature hack for so many decades it would be sad watching his visible decline on national television. His cognitive functions are so clearly limited now that it is visible on his face every time he’s asked a question for which he hasn’t been coached, or one that touches on an uncomfortable subject. If you can stand it, go watch a replay of the debate on Youtube. You can see Biden visibly recoil and squeeze his eyes shut whenever he’s asked a question that surprises him, which was typically from another candidate, not the accommodating moderators.

I’ve been telling you since April that Biden’s polling lead would be gone by October and he’d be out of the race entirely after next March 4, Super Tuesday. He’s right on schedule to meet that calendar, especially after his performance last night. The more he gets exposed to the public, the worse he looks.

As for the others, Harris is done. She is an awful campaigner and frankly a horrid debater. Everything about her screams insincerity and meanness.

Sanders will also fade after this croaking performance. Democrat voters are all about optics and the feels, and a 78 year-old croaking at them for three hours will make them feel all nervous and stuff.

Irish Bob is a furry circus clown who just announced the fourth re-boot of his campaign in six months. He’s to the point where even shallow Democrat voters think he’s a shallow opportunist.

Julian Castro never has been in any way relevant in this race, and his low attacks on Biden last night won’t change that.

Preacher Pete is cute as a button and might look good as arm-candy for Fauxcahontas in a general election race.

Cory Booker is Cory Booker and always will be, so no one should take him seriously in this race.

Yang is just weird. What was going on with that top button on his shirt last night? Everyone kept waiting for it to pop open and expose some odd tattoo and thus only heard about 1 out of 7 words he had to say. Again, Democrat voters are all about optics and feels, dude. Get a shirt that fits.

Klobuchar is just the angry version of Kirstin Gillibrand. No reason for her to be up there in the first place. She’s just wasting everybody’s time.

I feel like I’m forgetting somebody here, but honestly, I don’t care.

Here are my updated odds for the 2020 Democrat nomination after last night’s atrocity:

Fauxcahontas – 3 to 1

The Commie – 10 to 1

Biden – 50 to 1

Harris – 100 to 1

Preacher Pete – 100 to 1

The Field – 100 to 1

Someone not yet in the race – Even odds

Brokered convention, here we come.

That is all.

Is Justice Finally Coming for the DOJ/FBI Cabal?

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

“The wheels of justice turn slowly but they grind exceedingly fine.” – Sun Tzu

There goes Trump, attacking CNN again. – Fox News is reporting this afternoon that U.S. attorney Jessie Liu has recommended proceeding with charges against former Deputy FBI Director and current high-paid contributor at CNN and Democrat Party donor Andrew McCabe. Can’t wait to see that little bald fat guy, Brian Stelter, try to spin this one on behalf of the fakest news channel on television.

While the news that the Department of [No] Justice is finally apparently going to move to prosecute one of the major bad actors in the Obama-era effort to fix the 2016 election and then to take down a duly elected President of the United States is encouraging, the details of the Fox story are still troubling.

Take a gander at this passage, for example:

U.S. Attorney Jessie Liu has recommended moving forward with charges against Andrew McCabe, Fox News has learned, as the Justice Department rejects a last-ditch appeal from the former top FBI official.

McCabe — the former deputy and acting director of the FBI — appealed the decision of the U.S. attorney for Washington all the way up to Jeffrey Rosen, the deputy attorney general, but he rejected that request, according to a person familiar with the situation.

The very fact that McCabe’s lawyers were allowed to appeal a decision by a U.S. attorney all the way up to the deputy attorney general’s office is an utter disgrace, yet another indication of the persistence of the two-tiered system of justice that continues to exist within the DOJ. What other American citizen would have been allowed to do such a thing? Such a request coming from you or me would have never even been considered.

Then there’s this from the Fox story:

Last month, a source close to the process told Fox News that McCabe had a “target on his back” because of the Justice Department inspector general findings.

That’s a reference to DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report issued way back in March, 2018, which found that McCabe had repeatedly misled the IG’s investigators in their search for the truth about the Hillary Clinton email cover-up. That report contained multiple criminal referrals targeting McCabe, but all it got him was being fired by then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Now, suddenly, we have a U.S. attorney who’s gotten around to figuring that hey, maybe we ought to actually pursue a little justice where McCabe’s concerned. Go figure.

Or maybe, just maybe, McCabe’s decision to sue the DOJ over that firing finally pissed off enough people within the Department – maybe AG William Barr himself – that they finally decided to pursue some real justice against a cabal member in good standing. Let’s remember that Ms. Liu is the same U.S. attorney who decided in August that she just could not decide whether or not to prosecute McCabe, and referred the decision back to main Justice. What changed between then and now?

Whatever the reason for today’s decision, it represents a true crossing of the rubicon, as it involves the first prosecution of any of the Obama-era bad actors. We can hope against hope that it’s just the first of many more similar prosecutorial actions to come related to the DOJ/FBI bad actors who attempted to execute a coup d’etat on American soil. Nobody has ever more richly deserved a good nationally-televised perp walk more than McCabe and his many compatriots.

That is all.

Trump’s Judicial Appointees are Winning for the American People

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Tired of all this WINNING yet? – In case you missed it, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed back above 27,000 on Wednesday, and is just a little more than 200 points off of its all-time highest close. Recession? What recession?

Tired of all this WINNING yet? Part II. – In advance of the resumption of U.S./China trade talks in early October, the Chinese government announced it would rescind existing tariffs on a raft of U.S. imports, including lubricants, anti-cancer drugs and some farm goods. In return, President Donald Trump announced a two-week delay in the implementation of new tariffs on about $250 billion worth of Chinese imports, scheduled to take effect on October 1. This move by China is largely seen as an indication that the government of Xi Jinping is anxious to reach a new trade agreement as China’s economy continues to suffer great damage from U.S. tariffs, while the U.S. economy just keeps steaming along.

Tired of all this WINNING yet? Part III. – In a historic milestone, the U.S. Senate on Wednesday confirmed President Trump’s 150th judicial nominee, as six district court nominees won confirmation. Mr. Trump has now appointed 2 supreme court justices, 43 appellate court judges and 105 judges to the district courts. This laser focus on appointing and confirming judges by the President and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell will have positive ramifications on this society for decades to come.

Tired of all this WINNING yet? Part IV. – Nowhere are those positive impacts already being felt more directly now than in the previously out-of-control 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Long dominated by leftist nitwits who took pride in having their decisions constantly overturned by the Supreme Court, the six new judges who Trump and McConnell have succeeded in confirming to that 29-judge body have resulted in a sudden return of occasional constitutional jurisprudence to its decision-making.

That rebalancing of the 9th Circuit bore fruit on Monday when a panel of 3 of its judges rejected the overreach of yet another Obama-appointed district court judge, Jon Tigar.

When the Trump Administration announced in July it would resume enforcing the longstanding principle that no migrant from another country can apply for asylum in the U.S. if they had failed to do so in the first safe country they entered, leftist lawyers immediately filed suit in Tigar’s court to challenge the “new” policy, which was “new” only in the sense that it reversed the Obama Administration’s refusal to enforce that piece of the law.

Tigar naturally issued a nationwide injunction designed to prevent the Trump Administration from enforcing the new policy, a tactic that has worked time and time again to delay all efforts to gain some control over our southern border.  And always in the past, the 9th Circuit had been just a rubber stamp for such heinous judicial oversteps.

Not this time. This time, the three-judge panel ruled that Tigar’s order exceeded his court’s authority, and limited his injunction to apply only to Arizona and California, which lay in the purview of the 9th Circuit. That decision came down on Tuesday, and the left went berserk, with its Lawfare lawyers requesting an emergency ruling from the Supreme Court.

Thanks largely to President Trump’s two confirmed justices, the Supremes were having none of Tigar’s BS either, and on Wednesday they ruled, in a 7-2 decision, in favor of the 9th Circuit. Thus, the Trump Administration will now be able to enforce its new policy in New Mexico and Texas, where the vast majority of Central American caravans have been arriving since late last year. Pretty much all of these Central American migrants apply for asylum in the U.S. after refusing to do so in Mexico, and pretty much none of them qualify for that privilege.

[CORRECTION: The SC decision is even better than that. I had misread two different articles on this subject. The SC actually ruled that the Administration can enforce this policy IN FULL, without restrictions, and remanded the case back to Tigar’s court, where it will be be decided on the actual merits without any injunction being in effect.]

Thus we see the main reason for electing Donald Trump in 2016 bearing major fruit. Had Hillary Clinton won that election – as all the fake conservative Never Trump nitwits wanted her to do – there would be literally zero control over that border whatsoever, and no hope of achieving any ever again.

So, if you’ve been wondering why the Democrats and their fake media toadies have focused so much time and energy on demonizing Mitch McConnell in recent months, well, wonder no more. This is what happens to anyone who helps President Trump keep on WINNING for the American people, and Mitch has been WINNING, bigly.

That is all.

18 Years Later, The New York Times Still Can’t Honestly Identify the Enemy

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Garbage newspaper gonna put out garbage news:

Image

So, just as they do in the debate over gun control, our fake news media parrots the DNC-approved narrative that the inanimate objects – the “airplanes” – were the bad things here, not the radical Islamic terrorists who flew those airplanes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

What a disgrace.

After the perpetual outrage crowd on social media blew up over the tweet, the Times changed the wording in a subsequent tweet to read “Eighteen years have passed since terrorists commandeered airplanes to take aim at the World Trade Center and bring them down.”

So, at least the Times staff is capable of being shamed into grudgingly writing the word “terrorist,” which I suppose is progress given that the weasels at the DNC most likely didn’t even want them going that far. But what kind of “terrorists” were those people that day? What was their motivation for committing the atrocities that murdered 3,000 people?

This is a national illness, folks. This national illness that prevents our fake news media, one of our major political parties and even many Republicans from properly identifying freedom’s existential enemy of modern times has led directly to multiple supporters of that enemy – radical Islam – now representing congressional districts from Minnesota and Michigan. That national illness, this refusal to properly identify and appropriately deal with that enemy in the harshest of ways is why our soldiers remain stuck serving in faraway lands 18 years later, with some coming back in body bags every year.

Many Americans, however, still retain clear eyes despite the media/Democrat onslaught of distraction tactics and messaging over the last 18 years. Here is one of them:

We have an enemy. The enemy’s identity remains crystal clear all these years later. If we cannot as a nation properly identify that enemy, we can never hope to defeat it.

The people at the New York Times know that, and don’t care. They are a big part of the problem. They were enemies of the people 18 years ago, and they remain enemies of the people today. Don’t kid yourselves otherwise.

That is all.

GOP North Carolina Special Election Wins Are Yuuuuuuuuuuge

Today’s Campaign Update
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Guess what story won’t be the lead on CNN or above the fold on the front page of the New York Times this morning. – If you guessed “the special elections in two North Carolina congressional districts?”, you would be right:

Image

Why all the long faces, CNN?

The reason this story will now be downplayed and quickly dropped, of course, is that Republicans won both by comfortable margins. That was expected to be the case in congressional district 3, which is a very safe GOP district and where the Republican candidate was not burdened by any controversy, and the Democrats hadn’t poured millions of dollars in out-of-state money into the race. So, the 24-point winning margin by Republican Greg Murphy came as no surprise to anyone.

But CD9 was a different story. There, the Republican candidate, Dan Bishop, faced a huge influx of Democrat money coming in from New York and California to back Democrat Dan McReady, who had narrowly lost the race to another Republican, Mark Harris, in 2018. But Harris became the rarest of rare animals in U.S. politics – a Republican who got caught committing voter fraud in that race.

North Carolina elections officials ruled that the seat would remain unfilled until a special election could be held. Our fake national news media, led by CNN and the NY Times, eagerly anticipated what they all felt would be a Democrat win for McReady in CD9. Surely, they all reasoned, reciting the exact same DNC-approved talking points each and every day for the past month, the burden of the evil Orange Man in the White House and the scandal left behind by Harris would be too much for Bishop to overcome. Surely, McReady would be able to find enough voters in the district’s cemeteries and bus in voters from other states to win the day.

But no, in the end, even though the final polls in the race showed McReady even or with a slight lead, Bishop prevailed by almost 4,000 votes. The final blow in Bishop’s favor seemed to be the decision by President Donald Trump to fly in on Monday night and hold a raucus rally to boost voter enthusiasm for Bishop.

So today, you will see some perfunctory reporting on the results of these two Republican victories, and then the fake news media will drop the story like a hot potato. Because that is what our fake national news media does.

For the GOP, the outcomes of these two races represents very encouraging news. North Carolina has been trending in a bad direction for the past 20 years, as it has become a favored landing spot for New Yorkers fleeing the confiscatory tax policies of that state. All of the “experts” based in New York and D.C. fully expected that trend to continue in these races.

But what we saw instead is very troubling news for the Democrats and their media toadies. One big example came in Cumberland County, home of the city of Fayetteville. In 2016, that was a Democrat stronghold, with Hillary Clinton winning it by 16% of the vote over Donald Trump. On Tuesday, Bishop actually won that county by slightly less than 1%.

Robeson County, heavily-populated by the Lumbee Indian Tribe, went to McReady by 15% of the vote in 2018. Last night, Bishop came within 1% of actually winning the county, and the Lumbee-dominated precincts actually went to Bishop.

None of these results were expected in the DNC/Fake news media talking points, and help to explain all the long faces you saw if you watched the coverage on CNN and MSNBC last night. It was just one more race in which the polls were wrong, the “experts” were wrong and the talking points were wrong.

Couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch of people.

That is all.

Bolton Out, Permanent War Crowd Angry. Cool.

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II
(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

National Security Advisor John Bolton claims he resigned today. – But the truth is almost certainly that he was fired, most likely because President Donald Trump became fed up with Bolton always playing George C. Scott’s General Turgidson character in the film Dr. Strangelove:

Turgidson: Mr. President, we are rapidly approaching a moment of truth, both for ourselves as human beings and for the life of our nation. Now, truth is not always a pleasant thing. But it is necessary now to make a choice, to choose between two admittedly regrettable, but nevertheless distinguishable, post-war environments: one where you got 20 million people killed, and the other where you got 150 million people killed!]

Muffley: You’re talking about mass murder, General, not war.

Turgidson: Mr. President, I’m not saying we wouldn’t get our hair mussed, but I do say no more than 10 to 20 million killed, tops! Uh, depending on the breaks.

Muffley: I will not go down in history as the greatest mass murderer since Adolf Hitler.

Turgidson: Perhaps it might be better, Mr. President, if you were more concerned with the American people, than with your image in the history books.

Here is what the President tweeted out about the matter earlier today:

It becomes tiresome, no doubt, to be constantly advised to just keep the wars going when you got elected based on a promise to start ending some of the damn wars. So, let’s nobody be surprised that the President ultimately got fed up and pulled the trigger, so to speak, on firing the White House spokesperson for the permanent war crowd.

Who leads that crowd, you ask? Well, to paraphrase the great Hans Gruber from Die Hard, “you ask me for the leader, I give you Mitt Romney”:

You should also expect your TV screens and social media news feeds to be filled with similar statements of outrage from the usual warmonger suspects like Bill Kristol, various writers at the National Review and of course, the presidential candidate you never heard of before last week, Joe Walsh.

Meanwhile, Senator Rand Paul, who supports the President’s vision of getting America out of these intractable Middle East and African conflicts, had this to say:

Ironically you will also no doubt see many of the very same Democrats and fake news media talking heads who slammed President Trump for hiring Bolton now also slam him for firing Bolton.

Oh, hey, here’s Democrat congressman Chris Murphy doing exactly that:

Finally, you will also see the fake news media who detest the President suddenly cast Bolton as the smartest guy in the room, a wise and seasoned advisor who everyone should now listen to, just as they have done with The Mooch in the past few weeks. I give it no more than 72 hours before either CNN or MSNBC gives Bolton a huge contract to be an on-air expert contributor.

Because that is who our fake news media is, and that is how they work.

That is all.
