Today’s Campaign Update – The Week in Review

Today’s Campaign Update – The Week in Review

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

This week, we introduce a new feature at the Campaign Update – The Week in Review.

Ok, actually we introduced this last Friday evening, but failed to take the time and space to point it out.  We’re going to plan to post one of these every Saturday afternoon at least through the end of this year’s mid-term election campaign, at which point the plan is to assess their utility (and readership level) and decide whether they should be continued.

In putting these Campaign Updates together every morning, it often becomes impossible to adequately capture all the big things that are taking place related to our national politics.  Every day has multiple news cycles, as the leftwingers in our fake news media and the Democrat Party become increasingly panicked about their prayed-for “Blue Wave” failing to materialize and the growing reality that Robert Mueller is systematically taking the steps necessary to wind down his fruitless “investigation.”

We can only expect the pace of fakenewsery to speed up even more during the 8 weeks remaining until Election Day, meaning that, in order to keep everyone updated on the campaign, the Campaign Update must work a little overtime.

The plan here is to summarize the week’s major events in bullet point format, heaping as many insults and pithy comments upon all the snowflakes, SJWs, fake newsers and other creatures on the political left as we can think to include.  Links to relevant stories will, as always, be included where relevant and useful.

So here we go with the Campaign Update Week in Review, Episode 2.

This was the week that all the following happened:

  • Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, a shameless SJW himself, admitted that his “conservative employees “don’t feel safe to express their opinions” while in the Twitter corporate workplace.  Man, what do you think tipped him off?
  • Meanwhile, over at Google, tapes of a leadership team meeting that took place shortly after the 2016 election revealed that, contrary to their pious claims of impartiality, the social media behemoth does indeed do everything it can to distort its search results in favor of liberals.  Very predictably, none of the TV networks, nor CNN or the NYTimes or Washington Post devoted any time or space to covering this major story.  Go figure.
  • The Washington Post told us that President Donald Trump is “complicit” in the creation of Hurricane Florence because he doesn’t spout the dogma of the religion of Climate Change, but oddly gave him no credit at all for the hurricane’s being downgraded from a Cat 4 storm to a Cat 1 as it approached the Eastern Seaboard.  Odd.
  • The fake news media’s coverage of the leadup to and destruction caused by Florence was every bit as fake as one would have expected, as the fake journalists did everything they could think of to use the storm to try to damage President Trump and any other random Republican who got in the way.  So tiresome.
  • We learned that RINO Senator Ben Sasse “thinks about leaving the Republican Party” every morning.  So go already.
  • President Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was restored over last weekend, and has, as of this writing, remained unmolested by enraged social justice warriors a full week later.  Amazing.
  • Speaking of stories the mainstream fake news media couldn’t be bothered to spend a second reporting, a Republican candidate for congress out in California was stabbed by a lunatic supporter of his Democrat rival, incumbent congressman Eric Swalwell, who I remain convinced played Otter in the 1978 film “Animal House.”  When Swalwell was interviewed on CNN the very next day, he was not asked a single question about the stabbing by the fake news hack doing the interview.  *sigh*
  • Les Moonves got his sorry butt “MeToo’d” out of his job as CEO of CBS.  The management at CBS was so angry at all the bad PR Moonves brought the organization that they sent him packing with a severance deal totaling only about $100 million.  Not kidding.
  • San Fran Nan said she agrees that, where the Democrats are concerned, “it’s time for new blood and we should move on.”  That’s the good part.  But in her next breath, she promised to continuing clinging to power so long as Donald Trump is President: “to have no woman at the table and to have the Affordable Care Act at risk, I said, ‘As long as he’s here, I’m here.”  Oh, goody.
  • Paul Manafort “flipped” in order to get a plea deal from Bob Mueller, but it’s an open question whether his flipping is any sort of bad news for President Trump or just for Tony Podesta, with whom Manafort partnered to lobby for some Ukrainian clients during the Obama Administration.  Given that all the charges that Mueller had brought against Manafort were from that long ago period of time, the latter seems most likely.
  • Political fabulist Bob Woodward’s new book trashing President Trump immediately topped all the best-seller lists, but it turned out that possibly the most damaging allegation in it relates not to the President, but to Obama’s CIA Director, the execrable John Brennan.  Oh, my.
  • Corrupt New York Mayor Andrew Cuomo sent the eternally irritating Marxist Cynthia Nixon packing, and nobody really cared.
  • The New York Times tried to smear Nikki Haley and it backfired immensely, proving that sometimes justice still does prevail in this country.
  • Late in the week, despicable California Senator Dianne Feinstein pulled a last minute stunt to try to derail the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, but when even the fakenewsers at the Washington Post were ridiculing the highly-predictable tactic, it quickly became obvious that it won’t work.

With the final Senate floor vote not scheduled to take place until September 29, though, no one should blithely assume that Feinstein and her fellow depraved Democrats are finished trying to slander the nominee.  They probably have several more arrows in that Luciferian quiver they drag around with them.

Stay tuned.

That is all.

Even Before Landfall, the Media’s “Florence is Trump’s Katrina” Narrative is Underway

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

That Bob Woodward’s a saint!  Wait, he said what about John Brennan?  Oh, uh, that Bob Woodward’s a skunk!  – Look for the Obama sycophant tune about Bob Woodward and his new book start to change today, as it was revealed overnight that his book contains a damaging allegation about Obama’s rancid CIA Director John Brennan.

Woodward’s book alleges that Brennan endorsed the fake Trump Dossier paid for by the Clinton Campaign and DNC late in 2016, something Brennan has denied doing.  Woodward’s allegation about Brennan is of course based on nothing but the claims of an anonymous source, a source who may or may not actually even exist.

A spokesman for Mr. Brennan told the Washington Times that Brennan “never approved of the dossier. In fact, the source said, he worked to make sure it wasn’t included in the intelligence community assessment of Russian election interference.”  The source went on to say that Brennan did not approve of the dossier because “it wasn’t corroborated intel,” a rare instance in which we can confirm our former CIA Director is actually telling the truth, given that nothing in the fake Dossier has been corroborated to this very day.

Of course, none of that prevented Brennan from sharing the Dossier with his buddy Jim Comey and others at the Obama FBI. Nor did it prompt Brennan to work to ensure the contents of the Dossier were not used by the anti-Trump cabal within the DOJ and FBI to form the basis for no fewer than four FISA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign and Administration, an effort of which he was certainly well aware.

At any rate, thanks to this excellent reporting by the Washington Times – which no one at the New York Times or Washington Post could be bothered to perform – Democrats are finding out what it’s like to be on Bob Woodward’s yarn-spinning receiving end this morning.  Woodward should probably wear his big boy pants today, because the blowback is going to be vicious.

How many layers of Anonymous does Woodward get before the referee calls him offsides? – I got a kick last night when the apparent 12 year-old children who control The Hill’s twitter feed (@TheHill) sent out the following little ditty:

So, to be clear, that would be the anonymous “key” Trump official confirming the gossip coming from other anonymous “key” Trump officials who claim to have heard still other “key” Trump officials say a bunch of stuff that those “key” Trump officials all deny having ever said?  Well….yeah.

How does Woodward saying that qualify as “news” to any legitimate news organization, which The Hill actually used to be?  In all seriousness, our fake journalistic community appears to have lost all touch with what their profession is supposed to be about at this point.  It’s terribly sad to watch, and remains a clear and present danger to the survival of our Republic.

Everything in our fake news media is political, even the weather and tennis shoes. – We have arrived at a point at which the journalists who are supposed to serve as our nation’s “watchdogs” over those in power now merit watching more than those in power do.  There is not a single mainstream media outlet today that can be trusted to report straight news.  Every report, regardless of its subject matter, is now tinged with the political viewpoints of the reporters and editors and producers and corporate flunkies.

We can’t even trust media outlets to report the weather straight anymore, as the run-up to the landfall of Hurricane Florence clearly demonstrates.  I awoke this morning to an ABC radio news report in which the anchor guy used his report on Florence to bash President Trump for the Administration’s handling of last year’s multiple hurricane impacts on Puerto Rico.  The report was raft with loaded phrases like “the President claims”, “many (unnamed) experts have criticized his handling,” and “thousands of Puerto Ricans were without” power, water, you name it, as if the President himself directed the hurricanes’ advance, or was personally responsible for the 50 years of graft, corruption and infrastructure neglect by the island terroritory’s Democrat-dominated government.

Even before Florence does any damage at all, our fake news media is working hard to set this up as “Trump’s Katrina,” make no mistake about it.  All the fake reporters and fake editors and fake producers are frustrated as hell that they couldn’t successfully create that narrative related to any of the four major hurricane events in 2017, so you can count on them to work overtime on getting it done with Florence.

But assessing blame before the fact is just one of the media tactics we’re already seeing.  The efforts to blame every hurricane that takes place on “global warming” or “climate change” have become so ubiquitous now that we hardly even notice them.

If you want to understand how specious that argument is, take a look a the data in this tweet from noted climate expert Roger Pielke, Jr.:

This is just factual, official government data, folks, not some CNN talking head’s opinion.  As you can see, major hurricane events along the East Coast and Florida were roughly 3 times more frequent during the half-century from 1915 through 1965 than they have been since 1966.  This is 180 degrees contrary to the climate scammer argument that rising levels of carbon dioxide cause more frequent and more intense hurricane events.

Florida looks like a damn pin cushion during that earlier time frame. Given that Chevrolet didn’t start making Suburbans until 1936 and didn’t begin selling them in any great quantities until the 1980s, your SUVs didn’t do that.

Hurricanes happen.  Sometimes the U.S. gets hit frequently, and sometimes – like the decade prior to 2017 – the U.S. doesn’t get hit at all for long periods of time.  That SUV you’re using to drive your kids to and from school and their extra-curricular activities doesn’t have anything to do with it.

Just another day in all fake news all the time about everything America.

That is all.

A Week of Democrat/Media Hysteria Leaves Trump Unscathed

The Evening Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

As we come to the end of this week, a week during which the Democrat/Media Axis of Propaganda pulled out the biggest guns it has and fired them until their chambers were smoking, fake journalists and Democrat politicians must all be looking at one another and saying, “what in the hell did any of that do for us?”

It was a week literally filled with events that D.C. establishment wise men and women solemnly pronounced to be “the beginning of the end for Donald Trump.”  The first such event was the stunningly politicized funeral service last Saturday for John McCain, during which the likes of Joe Biden, George W. Bush and even McCain’s daughter Meghan took potshots at the President of the United States in what were supposed to be eulogies for the deceased Senator.  That was all just six days ago, and yet the 27 separate and distinct news cycles that have taken place since then make it all seem like a faded and distant memory.

The “beginning of the end for Donald Trump” the very next day, Sunday, September 2, was going to be the newest false narrative to explain why the deep state cabal within the Obama DOJ and FBI did all the illegal spying on the Trump campaign throughout 2016.  Invented out of whole cloth by the fakenewsers at the New York Times, this latest in a long line of fairy tale efforts to justify all the law-breaking hilariously blamed the entire thing on a failed effort by the Cabal to “turn” Russian Oligarch Oleg Deripaska.  Deripaska, of course, is the Russian source for most of the absurd fantasies that form the vast majority of the fake “Trump Dossier.”  Literally no one outside of the offices at the Times took this latest work of high fiction seriously, and it has been pretty much entirely forgotten as I type this a mere 5 days later.

That brings us to Monday, which was also Labor Day, when the “beginning of the end for Donald Trump” was the newest book from noted political fabulist Bob Woodward.  No way can Trump survive this one, said everyone at CNN/NBC/CBS/ABC/MSNBC/TheWashingtonPost/NewYorkTimes in unison!  But here we sit, just 3 days after the news of the book’s pending release broke, along with what were supposed to be damaging outtakes from it, and literally no one is talking about it.

Of course, the book’s biggest problem is what the biggest problem always is with any Woodward book:  Its “sources” are all anonymous, despite all of the author’s braggadocio about having a “first-hand source” for every allegation in the tome.  Given that Woodward has been caught making all manner of things up out of whole cloth in his previous works of political fiction, no one has any real obligation – or really and reason – to believe him now.

On Tuesday, the next edition of “the beginning of the end of Donald Trump” was the Senate Judiciary hearings over his nominee to the Supreme Court, Brett Kavanaugh.  Democrats and their media agents began the hearings Tuesday morning with anti-Trump guns a-blazing, carefully-scripted joint talking points and a hearing room filled with paid protesters.  Unsurprisingly, the disgraceful spectacle put on by the gang of Democrat/media thugs had the effect of turning off a huge number of Americans, and by mid-day on Wednesday, even some of the Democrat committee members had grown visibly nervous about it all.

Another dud.

On Wednesday, the fakenewsers at the New York Times were firing their fake news guns one more time, this time with a unprecedented anonymous op/ed from an alleged “senior Administration official” that detailed the existence of an embedded gang of anti-Trump functionaries who are working to undermine President Trump and his priorities.  In other words, the op/ed details the very existence of the Deep State in the pages of the freaking New York Times.  What a bunch of boobs these people are.  Thus, this particular “beginning of the end for Donald Trump” ended almost before it even began.

Yesterday, as detailed in this morning’s Campaign Update, goofy New Jersey Senator Cory “Jazz Hands” Booker decided he was gonna be the one to bring the “beginning of the end for Donald Trump” by staging a hysterical in-committee fight over the release of a set of Kavanaugh memos from 17 years ago that were supposed to prove the Judge is a racist.  But then we all read the memos and it turned out that they simply proved the opposite – that Judge Kavanaugh argued against the implementation of racial profiling in the wake of the 2001 9/11 attacks.  To make matters worse for Senator Jazz Hands, it also turned out that the memos had been approved for the release hours before his staged rant, a fact that he was actually well aware of.

Pop.

So here we sit at the end of this eventful week, and President Trump is not only still standing, he is thriving.  The President’s polling numbers actually rose as the week went along, and the biggest news on Friday was the August jobs numbers, which exceeded the expectations of all the “experts” yet again.

Oh, and Barack Obama made a big speech bashing Trump around noon on Friday, an event signaling his return to actively campaigning for Democrat congressional candidates.  This should make those candidates cower in terror given that their party went from a clear, unchallenged majority national party with super-majorities in both houses of congress when Obama came into office in 2009, to a clear, fading regional minority party holding not a single lever of political power when Obama cleared out of the White House on January 20, 2017.

What this week of Democrat/Media hysteria proved more than anything else is that they still have not figured out why Donald Trump won in 2016, and they still have no clue how to deal with him.

This is Donald Trump, #WINNING for America.

That is all.

The New York Times Proves the Deep State is Alive and Well (Oops)

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

You know it’s bound to happen. – Hey, anyone know when Netflix will have the first 3 seasons of John McCain’s Funeral uploaded for binge watching?  Asking for a friend…

Your fake news media in action! – The New York Times last week:  Ran a piece contending that the Deep State is just an alt-right “conspiracy theory.”

The New York Times this week:  Ran an anonymous op/ed, supposedly written by a “senior administration official,” who says that he is part of a cabal of government employees embedded in the executive branch working to undermine the Trump presidency.

ummmmm…yeah, that’s the definition of the term “Deep State,” guys and gals.

So, let’s do some Q&A related to this:

Q:  Has the NYTimes ever pulled a stunt like this in an effort to undermine any other president?

A:  No.  Well, not in modern times, anyway.  Who knows what they might have done the last time our country went through a round of yellow journalism like the one we’re currently experiencing, back around the turn of the 19th century?

Q: Would the NYTimes have run such a piece from a Deep State official embedded in the Obama Administration?

A: You’re kidding, right?  Seriously, this is a joke?  No?  Look, if anyone doing this to Obama had identified himself to the editorial board of the NYTimes, the Times would have publicly outed him immediately and referred his case to the U.S. Attorneys at the Southern District of New York.

Q: How “Senior” is this official?

A: Good question.  There are more than 5,000 political appointees in the executive branch of government, and many times more than that SES (Senior Executive Service) level career bureaucrats at the GS-13 level or above.  Given how loosey-goosey the fakenewsers at the Times play with words these days (I laughed out loud when someone on Twitter tried to claim they followed “rules” on such things last night), it could be any one of these tens of thousands of people.  The chances that this is someone truly “senior”, i.e., a cabinet-level official or a direct report, are extremely low.  It’s far more likely that this person some associate assistant deputy to the associate deputy assistant to the director of some obscure bureau.

Bottom line:  This person could be anybody, or, given that the piece was obviously written by a professional writer, it could also be something the Times made up out of whole cloth.  It might well have been written by the Times’ resident Clinton hack Maggie Haberman or any number of other ethics-devoid fakenewsers employed by the fake newspaper.

Or hey, it might be the work of Bob Woodward, who is extremely gifted at spinning yarns.  We can eliminate ex-FBI Director James Comey, because the piece doesn’t read like something penned by a teenage drama queen, and Hillary Clinton, since it is not filled with myriad excuses about why she lost the 2016 election.

Other than that, it could be almost anyone.  At the end of the day, who cares?  This is just the 1,001st effort by the fake news media to dummy up something that is “the beginning of the end for Donald Trump.”  A week from today, no one will remember it happened.

Meanwhile, up under the Big Top on Capitol Hill… – So damn much happened yesterday at various hearings on the Hill that it’s hard to know where to start:

  • The CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, testifed before a House committee, and did his best imitation of Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, answering pretty much no questions honestly, and repeatedly using dodges like “we must do better,” “it was a glitch in our algorithm,” and the always handy “I’ll look into that and get back to you.  Note to Congress:  He isn’t going to get back to you.
  • Facebook’s President Sheryl Sandberg also testified at the same hearing, and employed the same tactics.  In direct contrast to Zuckerberg, who looked spookily like a poorly-programmed robot at his own hearing, Ms. Sandberg at least projected the appearance of being a real human being.  Progress.
  • When a right-wing reporter named Laura Loomer tried to disrupt the hearing, shouting complaints about being shadow-banned and suspended on Twitter, Missouri Republican Billy Long, a professional auctioneer by trade, drowned her out by shouting rapid-fire auctioneer stuff into his microphone as she was being escorted out of the room by security.
  • Someone needs to let Rep. Long into the Senate Judiciary Committee room and give him a mic.  The pre-planned constant disruptions by paid “protesters” continued during the second day of hearings over Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court. Some of the disruptions came from the same people who had been “arrested” for doing the same thing on Tuesday.
  • By late morning, even some of the Democrats on the committee, realizing that it wasn’t doing them any good, appeared to be getting tired of the nonsense.  Their tiredness showed in their questioning of the nominee, which was painfully scripted, rote and straight out the highly-predictable Democrat playbook.
  • While the dreary proceedings were taking place inside the hearing room, outside the room lurked radio talk show host Alex Jones, who was also very predictably pulling all sorts of crazy stuff.  At one point, Jones confronted Senator Marco Rubio, calling him a “snake” and a “frat-boy” and accusing him – incorrectly – of wanting to “beat me up.”  Rubio responded by telling Jones “I don’t know who you are,” which, whether true or not, Jones obviously took as an insult.  Then, in Rubio’s next breath, he said “I don’t really go on your website,” indicating he does know who Jones is after all.  So confusing.

Incidentally, in case you’re wondering what happens to these protesters when they’re “arrested,” here you go:  They are taken to a nearby police station, booked, assessed a fine of $50, and released.  That’s it.

At the end of the day, what it all added up to was the Democrats getting exactly what they wanted:  Capitol Hill was your basic three-ring circus.  Expect more of the same today.

Just another day in three-ring circus America.

That is all.

Judiciary Democrats Descend Into the Abyss of Mob Rule

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

It beats the hell out of anyone named McCain. – Arizona Governor Doug Ducey announced his pick for replacing deceased-and-at-long-last-buried Senator John McCain.  Thankfully, the Governor’s choice had a last name that was not “McCain,” as in Cindy or Meghan.

Ducey named former Senator John Kyl to fill the seat, at least temporarily.  Kyl has only committed to serving through the end of the current congress, which will be replaced by the new congress in January, but he left open the possibility that he would serve through 2020. Kyl is a bit of a RINO, but at least he won’t be basing his votes on petty grudges, which is a huge improvement.

So the good news is that Arizona finally has a real Republican filling this seat.  The bad news is that we could face the potential of another McCain being appointed to the seat next January.

He’s written more fiction than Tom Clancy. – Bob Woodward won a Pulitzer Prize way back in 1975, and has been living off of his Watergate reporting ever since.  He’s also been publishing political fiction since that time, as this 2012 piece from Politico details.  Who can ever forget Woodward’s “deathbed confession” scene from his political novel “Veil: The Secret Wars of the CIA 1981-1987”, in which he claimed Reagan-era CIA Director Bill Casey told him all about Reagan’s “direct involvement” in the Iran/Contra deal?

The only problem with that scene is that Bob Woodward never visited Bob Casey while he lay on his hospital deathbed.  A mere technicality in today’s utterly fake news media, true, but a technicality that matters nonetheless.

The political fabulist claims that his latest book bashing President Trump and many of his senior staff is all based on “first-hand sources” and that he recorded all the conversations recounted therein.  But news of the book’s inflammatory claims was met with outright, direct denials from the likes of General John Kelly and General James Mattis.  (Woodward’s old running buddy, Carl Bernstein, said Kelly should resign after hearing his denial.  Woodward might have preferred Bernstein keep his running mouth shut given that he’s just been caught faking up a report for CNN.)

Thus, to save his sterling reputation (I kid), Woodward’s solution is simple:  Release the recordings.  You will see that he will not do that because, as has been his habit for more than 40 years, Woodward is making stuff up in order to sell books.

Hey, maybe get Bob Woodward to write them!  He’ll make up something great! – Meanwhile, over in Democrat/media Russia Collusion fantasyland, Special Counsel Bob Woodw…er, Mueller announced full capitulation on the whole question of finding anything resembling “collusion” between the Trump Campaign and Russia during the 2016 election campaign, notifying the White House that he is now happy to accept answers to his questions in writing, as the White House has been insisting all along.  This is what is known as waving the white flag.

Mueller left his options open on to directly question President Trump on the equally fantasy-based question of obstruction of justice, but it’s only a matter of time before the surrender comes on that idiotic, media-fed notion as well.  How, after all, would Mueller plan to mount a case that the President “obstructed justice” in firing ex-FBI Director and current teenage drama queen James Comey when every Democrat in America was at the time urging Mr. Trump to fire Comey for incompetence?  How would Mueller make such a case when the DOJ memo justifying the firing was written by the very Deputy Attorney General – Rod Rosenstein – who appointed him to become Special Counsel in the first place?  How would Mueller and his barely-competent political hacks deal at trial with testimony from Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz and George Washington University Law Professor Jonathan Turley that it is simply not possible under our Constitution for the President to have committed obstruction in that firing given that he has an absolute right to fire anyone who works for him for any reason?

Mueller, desperate to keep this all alive until after Election Day, is slow-playing the inevitable as best he can, but capitulation on the obstruction question is coming in due time.

Ladies and Gentlemen!  Welcome to the Greatest Show on Earth! – As the daily Campaign Update predicted yesterday, Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee turned the confirmation hearing for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh into a three ring circus.  Which is totally in character, given that today’s Democrats base their entire political strategy on the old P.T. Barnum nostrum that there’s a sucker born every minute.  That’s how they raise money, after all.  Sadly, the birth rate for suckers appears to have rapidly accelerated over the past few decades.

The day’s shenanigans and the fact that all the protests were pre-planned by the Democrats working in concert with some of the worst people in the world – like the Sharia Law-promoting Linda Sarsour – have been well-documented, so I won’t repeat them here.  Just rest assured that as bad as Tuesday was, things are only going to go downhill from here, because this is what the Democrat Party has become, a semi-organized band of thugs promoting mob rule.

I have written for 25 years now of my belief that the national Democrat Party is the single greatest threat America’s democratic republic has ever faced, and that belief is sadly coming to ultimate fruition today.  You continue to vote for these people and their thuggery at your own peril.

Just another day in Democrat thuggery America.

That is all.

Van Jones Video Makes Fake News CNN “The Story”

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

It’s never a good things for any news outlet when it becomes “the story,” but that’s what has happened to the Fake News-purveying CNN.  It couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of people.

  • It’s official:  The Fake News Network, aka CNN, has now become “The Story.”  The Story is no longer Russia Collusion, or  Obstruction, or Obamacare Repeal and Replace, or Tax Reform, or whatever President Donald Trump happened to tweet out this morning.  CNN is now The Story, in the wake of the release of a second expository video from James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas, in which communist former Obama advisor and long-time CNN contributor Van Jones calls the Fake News Network’s focus on Russia Collusion “A big nothing burger.”  That’s all he said in the very brief clip, but it’s all he needed to say.
  • Suddenly, nobody is talking about Russia or Obstruction anymore, and everyone is talking about CNN and Project Veritas.  The fake journalists at CNN spent more time defending themselves and their Fake News Network on Wednesday than they did attempting to slander the POTUS.  Yes, much of the media noise about CNN/Veritas was slamming Veritas and defending CNN, but that misses the point.  The point is that this was The Story that everyone in the fake national news media was focused on.  Given that O’Keefe says he plans to release another new CNN-exposing video every day for the rest of this week, it’s a safe bet that this will continue to be the case.
  • The bad news for the rest of the fake news media is that CNN is not the only fake news outlet getting such attention. Legendary Watergate reporter Bob Woodward, in remarks he gave following a screen of “All The President’s Men” in New York City, chastised the fake journalists at the NYTimes and other big media outlets for engaging in the same sort of unmitigated bias that characterizes CNN’s 24 hours of fake journalism every day.  Sharyl Attkisson, another fantastic real journalist who was fired by CBS News for actually investigating the Obama-era abuse of the IRS, told a Fox News panel that the national news media gives the public a “false sense of reality”, and that many of those posing as journalists on TV and in social media are nothing more than “well-funded actors.”  Ouch.
  • Amidst all of this, CNN is being stalked by AT&T, and rumors abound that CNN CEO Jeff Zucker’s head might be on the chopping block should that buyout take place.
  • Of course, CNN’s on-air fake talent tried desperately to shift the focus, smearing O’Keefe and his “heavily-edited” videos, and laughably claiming that Jones was “taken out of context”.  Wolf Blitzer, who was captured on film sharing wine and snacks with the Clinton staff at the Democrat National Convention, tried to shift focus back to President Trump, claiming that his calling the fake news media “the enemy of the people” back in January is putting fake journalists like him in danger.  *sigh*
  • Predictably, CNN’s ratings continued to crash and burn, with the Tuesday night ratings showing a significant drop from Monday’s.  Fox News continued to increase its renewed dominance of CNN and MSNBC, with its total audience very nearly equaling both of its main competitors combined.
  • Make no mistake about it, CNN is in deep trouble at the moment.  Its reputation is dead to anyone with functioning synapses in their cranial cavity, its leadership is in peril, its ratings are tanking, and it may soon be bought out and have to answer to new overlords.
  • Meanwhile, President Donald Trump held meetings with energy leaders and victims of illegal immigrant crime, hosted the Chicago Cubs at the White House, and continued to press GOP senators for their support for the repeal and replacement of Obamacare, hinting at the end of the day that the senate was about to produce a “big surprise” on the Obamacare issue.

Just another day in fake news media becoming The Story America.

That is all.

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) – 3.23.2017

  • Now you know why his statement was so carefully worded.:  I pointed out in Tuesday’s update that our bi-polar FBI Director’s “denial” of “wiretapping” allegations contained in President Trump’s tweets was very specific and extremely carefully worded to specifically only “deny” the exact wording contained in the tweets.  Thus, Mr. Comey’s statement only “denied” that he was in possession of any evidence that “Obama” had “wire-tapped” “Trump Tower.”  Nothing more.   Yesterday, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) demonstrated why, revealing that he had uncovered information proving that then-President-elect Trump and his transition team were indeed spied upon by the Obama Administration, between election day and the inauguration.  Mr. Comey obviously showed up to that hearing on Monday determined to reveal only information that might be harmful to the President, and to withhold anything helpful to him.
  • Because some folks just need firing.:  If Mr. Comey had any credibility prior to Monday, it is now gone.  A new poll released on Wednesday by Harvard-Harris shows that the nation’s highest-ranking law enforcement officer is viewed favorably by just 17% of registered voters, an approval rating so low that it rivals that of the fake news media.  The poll finds that Mr. Comey is viewed favorably by only 12% of Democrats, and a still-pitiful 26% of Republicans.  Given that the poll’s sample was taken prior to Monday’s hearing, it’s a safe bet that ranking among Republicans will have fallen off precipitously by now.  Familiarity breeds contempt, and the American public has become entirely too familiar with its FBI Director over the last year and a half.  Enough.
  • Breaking:  Ol’ Bug Eyes is upset.  Film at 11.:  The Intel Committee’s ranking Democrat, the bug-eyed Adam Schiff, did his best to put lipstick on his party’s latest smelly pig, tossing out an array of hastily-prepared talking points for the fake media to parrot, but the pig perseveres nonetheless.  We know now that we had an out-going presidential administration surveiling an incoming presidential transition team, and there is no way you can pretty that fact up.  We also now know that the FBI is refusing to cooperate with the Intel Committee’s effort to investigate this matter.  So it is what it is, and what it is is a big ol’ fat pig.  And we can bet there is more yet to come on this front.
  • Because that’s what the Fake News Media does.:  The fake reporters, fake analysts, and fake anchors across the fake news media naturally did their best to toss cold water on Rep. Nunes’ allegations, but no matter how hard they try to support their Democrat benefactors, the fake media cannot escape the reality that all Nunes’ information does is confirm the accuracy of this report from the Jan. 19 edition of the NY Times.  The key paragraph of that report is here:

The F.B.I. is leading the investigations, aided by the National Security Agency, the C.I.A. and the Treasury Department’s financial crimes unit. The investigators have accelerated their efforts in recent weeks but have found no conclusive evidence of wrongdoing, the officials said. One official said intelligence reports based on some of the wiretapped communications had been provided to the White House.

  • Remember, that was Jan. 19, and the “White House” that passage refers to was the Obama White House.  That report by the NY Times was re-published by hundreds of its fellow fake news media outlets, including CNN, MSNBC, all three major networks, and pretty much every major daily newspaper in this country.  Thus, despite their whole Claude Rains “I am shocked, shocked!” acts today, they all have already admitted that Trump’s tweets were true.  They’re hoping you will all forget that reality, and honestly, most Democrats either will or already have.
  • Still don’t think this is a serious problem for Democrats?:  You don’t have to believe me – I give you Bob Woodward, on Wednesday’s Bill O’Reilly program: “If (what Nunes says) is true, the unmasking of U.S. civilians would be a gross violation…a felony.”  He goes on:  “You had people in the Obama administration passing around highly classified gossip.”  Mr. Woodward is as DC establishment as DC establishment gets, and does not have a history of making such assertions lightly.  Ask Richard Nixon.
  • Was it poverty?  Poor parenting?  All those Gilligan’s Island re-runs?  The heartbreak of psoriasis?:  The perpetrator of the Islamic terrorist attack in London yesterday has been identified as well-known ‘hate-preacher’ Abu Izzadeen.  The fake reporters, fake analysts and fake anchors throughout the fake news media will now spend weeks in a vain attempt to figure out what this poor man’s motivation could have possibly been.  CNN will never figure it all out.  Because that’s what the fake news media does.
  • Chelsea Clinton just keeps on winning, for no discernible reason.:  Great news, everybody!  Chelsea Clinton, the achievement-devoid, 37 year-old daughter of The Most Corrupt Couple in America, is now going to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award, and nobody really knows why!  Isn’t that great?  Aren’t you all thrilled?  Wait…what?  Yes, Sweet, Sweet Chelsea, fresh off the heels of being given a lucrative seat on Expedia’s Board of Directors, despite an utter lack of any accomplishment or skillset for that job, is now being honored by The Lifetime Network for her lifetime achievement in the field of…ummmm… wellllllll….er,….oh yeah, “public service”.  See, in between getting paid about $600k a few years back by NBC for doing about three TV interviews – including one very memorable gabfest with the Geico Gekko – and having the unsuspecting donors to her family’s fake “Foundation” foot the bill for her million dollar wedding to a now-failed hedge fund hustler, Chelsea apparently spent about ten minutes on something called “The Alliance For A Healthier Generation”, although no one knew anything about that until now.  Funny how that works, but only if your name is Clinton.
  • Some things never change.:  Meanwhile, every Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee continued to make asses of themselves, twisting themselves into pretzels of illogic in their fruitless questioning of Supreme Court Nominee Judge John Gorsuch.  Gorsuch has proved to be the most capable nominee any GOP president has put forth in modern times, answering each and every idiotic question so completely, likeably and unassailably that his pathetic opponents are left with no means of countering them.  If there aren’t enough Democrats who are still conscientious enough to break a filibuster against this nomination, then the Party is well and truly doomed to die.  There is literally no legitimate grounds to oppose this man’s nomination.  None.

Just another day in Trump Derangement Syndrome America.

That is all.
