The Democrats are Running out of Time on Their Hidin’ Biden Farce

Even Biden’s potential running mates are starting to lose patience with his inability form ideas into sentences. – Check out Elizabeth Warren actually rolling her eyes as Biden bumbles around to catch a thought that zooms into and out of his noggin:

Which brings us to this little nugget from Dan Bongino:

If you’re surprised by this, you are a new reader at Today’s Campaign Update. Given that their faux “convention” is just barely two weeks away, the Democrats obviously do have a huge decision to make where Biden is concerned. Do they draft Obama to go to his former Vice President and tell him the game is over and he must withdraw for the good of the Party? Or do they just brazenly tough it out with the Hidin’ Biden strategy and keep their “candidate” closeted up in his basement all the way through Election Day?

Many people think that drafting a new nominee and mounting a campaign with him or her would be a fairly simple thing, but it wouldn’t be. For one thing, there’s the money question. Biden has raised several hundred million dollars for his campaign, and that money is not transferable to a different nominee. Thus, a Hillary Clinton or Michelle Obama or Andrew Cuomo would have to basically start from scratch against an opponent, President Donald Trump, who has already raised over half a billion dollars for his own campaign.

That’s a huge hill to climb, folks.

Then there’s the question of how you mount a campaign without doing in-person rallies of any real size, and while refusing to debate your opponent. We have to understand that this factor is precisely why the Democrats have so fiercely fought to keep our economy depressed and shut down: They are perfectly willing to keep millions of Americans out of work and to destroy millions of small businesses if it means they have a rationale to deny the President his ability to conduct public rallies.

Will the public buy it when Biden says he refuses to debate the President because he might – gasp! – lie during a debate? Think about how independent voters, for whom these debates actually are staged every four years, would react to that excuse. It’s a giant risk for the Democrats to take.

But it may indeed be a necessary one for the Party to try. Biden has clearly declined rapidly over the past 16 months, and he was already obviously impaired when he entered the race last April. This is a man who cannot hold a simple press conference without holding a list of pre-selected “reporters” to call on, reporters who have been selected by Biden’s handlers because they have promised to avoid tough questions.

Biden struggles to read a short speech from a TelePrompter now, and is unsteady on  his feet. These are the major reasons why the Democrats have gone to such epic lengths to ensure that party conventions had to become virtual events. We should not be surprised if they even come up with some pretense for Biden’s virtual acceptance speech to be pre-recorded rather than a live delivery so that his gaffes can be carefully edited out.

With recent polling showing that Biden’s voter enthusiasm levels have tanked to historic lows not seen since the days of Walter Mondale, the Democrat/Media axis of disinformation is even going to find it increasingly difficult to keep rolling out the fake polls and have anyone believe them. There is increasing chatter at social gatherings and across social media about the dearth of Biden yard signs, bumper stickers and other campaign paraphernalia appearing anywhere in the country.

When people can see with their own eyes that literally no one they know is a Biden supporter, and their Democrat acquaintances laugh whenever his name is brought up, the pretense of fake polls showing him with double-digit leads loses any real impact. In fact, at this point it is safe to say that the media/pollster campaign to depress Trump voter enthusiasm has been an abject, miserable failure.

But here’s the thing about all of this: Biden has made it clear that he’s going to announce his running mate selection this week. Once he crosses that threshold, it becomes even more difficult for the Party to kick him off to the curb.

It’s a real conundrum for the party leaders, and the reality is that actually don’t have an alternative who is all that attractive. Abandoning Biden now, after all of the promises he has made to get the party’s various factions on board with his candidacy, would inevitably cause massive splits in the party’s demented voter base, with the new candidate having barely two months to try to bring them all back into the fold.

The Democrat convention begins on August 17, two weeks from today. Those two weeks are going to be incredibly interesting.

That is all.

Friday News Roundup: Adios Amy!, Trump Moves on Big Tech, and CoronaPanic is Dying

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II

You won’t have Klobuchar to kick around anymore. – The gang of leftist women who make up Creepy Uncle Quid Pro China Farty Joe Biden’s list of potential vice presidential nominees just keep knocking themselves off.  Frau Eva von Whitmer was basically eliminated by her own husband last weekend when he tried to jump the line to get his boat out of storage, in direct violation of Whitmer’s own stupid stay-at-home order.

Now, Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar has fallen victim to her own actions, or inaction, as it were. That inaction took place wayyyyyy back in 2006, when Klobuchar, then serving as the local District Attorney for the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, refused to bring charges against a bad cop named Derek Chauvin, who had become the subject of one of multiple police brutality complaints that have been leveled against him over the years.

Why is that significant today? Because Derek Chauvin is the bad cop who killed George Floyd by leaning on his neck for 8 long minutes as he strangled to death on a Minneapolis street.

Oh.

Adios, Amy!

Time to get back to work. – There was some very good, if hidden, news in the weekly jobs numbers released on Thursday. Yes, we had 2.1 “initial” claims for unemployment in the past week, which was the only number the corrupt news media focused on.

But “continuing” claims fell for the first time since March, from 25 million to 21 million. That means that 4 million net Americans went back to work last week.

America is going back to work whether the Democrats want it to or not.

The other positive, if largely ignored news this week has been the Dow Jones Industrial average leaping back above the 25,000 mark. As of yesterday’s close, the Dow has now gained back about 80% of its initial losses due to the economic shutdown, signaling that investors are growing increasingly confident that a rapid economic rebound will take place in the months to come.

This is just the first step. – As promised, President Donald Trump signed an executive order designed to limit the liability protections enjoyed under the Communications Decency Act by big social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook. Make no mistake about it, this is just the first step the administration plans to take to rein in the abusive behavior in the social media sector.

These Big Tech monopolies have far too much influence in our society today, and pretty much all of that influence is pernicious and destructive in nature. There are now bi-partisan coalitions in both the House and Senate who support some form of anti-trust regulation of these companies, and we have seen many signs that the Department of Justice is preparing to take action against them.

This is far, far from over. It’s just the beginning.

The CoronaPanic mob is losing control, even in California. – The sheriff of Sonoma County, California, said yesterday that he will no longer enforce baseless, senseless, constitution-violating orders coming from state and local officials.

From a report by ABC News:

Sonoma County Sheriff Mark Essick penned a letter to residents saying he is directing his department to not enforce the public health order, saying the blanket order is crushing the community.

In this letter, Essick said the many residents and business owners have told him that the county’s health orders are far more strict than neighboring communities and California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s statewide orders. He also said that the county’s coronavirus cases continue to decline.

“Over the last 10 weeks we have learned a lot and made significant progress. The curve has been flattened; hospitals were not overrun with patients; we have dramatically increased testing which verified the infection rate in Sonoma County is under control and decreasing. Yet we continue to see successive Public Health Orders that contain inconsistent restrictions on business and personal activities without explanation,” Essick wrote. “Based on what we have learned, now is the time to move to a risk-based system and move beyond blanket orders that are crushing our community.”

He says he’s asked, and not heard from, public health officials about why the restrictive measures remain despite the community having favorable COVID-19 numbers. To continue to enforce these measures, he said, would be a disservice to the county’s residents.

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, he said, will stop enforcing local coronavirus regulations as of June 1.

“As your elected Sheriff, I can no longer in good conscience continue to enforce Sonoma County Public Health Orders, without explanation, that criminalize otherwise lawful business and personal behavior,” Essick’s letter said.

[End]

Sonoma County, of course, is one of the major wine-producing areas in the state. Essick’s move will no doubt place pressure on the sheriff in neighboring Napa County to also begin questioning the authority behind these counterproductive orders. You can be sure that if the wine-tasting rooms in Sonoma are able to open for business, those in Napa Valley are going to want an explanation why they can’t do the same.

Because competition still matters, even in the grand socialist experiment that is California today…

…but maybe not in New York. – Andrew Cuomo and Bill de Blasio appear intent upon completely destroying New York’s economy for decades to come. Cuomo, who has led what has likely been the least-effective and most disastrous response to the Wuhan Virus of any state, doubled-down on restriction and failure yesterday:

Surreal.

Meanwhile, this is happening. – Although you won’t find it mentioned on ABC’s website or Twitter feed, ABC reporter Arielle Mitropolis reported this on-air yesterday:

The CoronaPanic is dying at the hands of science and data, and there is nothing Andrew Cuomo, Gretchen Whitmer or any other fascist Democrat governor can do to stop it.

That is all.

Pew Research Center Report Shows Danger of Living in Democrat-Controlled Areas

The Evening Campaign Update

Living in a Democrat congressional district can be very hazardous to your health. That has to be the main takeaway from a report issued on Tuesday by the Pew Research Center.

The report, titled “Coronavirus death toll is heavily concentrated in Democratic congressional districts,” demonstrates that “Of the 44 hardest-hit congressional districts – the top 10% in terms of deaths – 41 are represented by Democrats, while three are represented by Republicans.” Pew’s researchers also found that “nearly a quarter of all the deaths in the United States attributed to the coronavirus have been in just 12 congressional districts – all located in New York City and represented by Democrats in Congress.”

This is stunning data, but it should surprise no one. It is completely in line with the map below, compiled late last week by USAFACTS.org:

The data underlying this map illustrated that roughly 1/3rd of all U.S. Wuhan Virus deaths have taken place in each of the green, yellow and red areas. In other words, fully 2/3rds of all deaths have occurred in large cities and metro areas in the northeast and midwest. All of those areas are dominated by Democrat politicians. These are areas like New York City, Newark, Boston, Chicago and Detroit, where people are packed in more closely together and in which thousands continued to ride public transportation petri dishes to and from work throughout this viral outbreak, thanks to failed leadership by their governors and mayors.

Let’s also remember that it wasn’t Republican politicians who made the ghoulish decisions to send infected seniors back into their nursing homes where they infected thousands more. Those decisions were the exclusive province of Democrats like Andrew Cuomo and Phil Murphy and J.B. Pritzker and Gretchen Whitmer.

Desperate to find some solace in the stark reality of this Pew report, the leftist perpetual outrage crowd on Twitter tried and failed to make some hay out of this chart earlier today:

Obviously, when 80% of the deaths take place in your party’s districts in the first place, those districts are going to see a more rapid decline rate once the epidemic starts to fade. This isn’t exactly rocket science here, folks. The numbers are what they are, and to their credit, the liberals who run the Pew Center didn’t make much effort to cover for their fellow Democrats in this report.

That is all.

Sunday News Roundup: Sullivan Lawyers Up, Cuomo Deflects Blame, and Trump Tees Off

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

If this surprises you, you haven’t been paying attention. – Federal Judge Emmet Sullivan, under fire for his bizarre conduct of the case involving the framing of General Mike Flynn, will not be filing his own response to the DC Circuit Court of Appeals’ order for him to explain himself by Friday. Instead, the Washington Post reports that he has taken the extraordinary step of hiring “a high-profile lawyer” to do that for him:

The federal judge who refused a Justice Department request to immediately drop the prosecution of former Trump adviser Michael Flynn has hired a high-profile trial lawyer to argue his reasons for investigating whether dismissing the case is legally or ethically appropriate.

In a rare step that adds to this criminal case’s already unusual path, U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan has retained Beth Wilkinson to represent him in defending his decision to a federal appeals court in Washington, according to a person familiar with the hire who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter. The U.S. District Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit is now examining the judge’s actions and the larger case against Flynn after lawyers for President Trump’s former national security adviser asked the court to force Sullivan to toss Flynn’s guilty plea.

Wilkinson, known for her top-notch legal skills and get-results style, is expected to file a notice with the court in the coming week about representing the judge. She declined to comment when reached Friday evening. Sullivan also declined to comment through his office.

[End]

Don’t you just love the phrasing? “high-profile”; “top-notch legal skills”; “get-results style;” the pathetic Post reporter must have just done a cut-and-paste from Wilkinson’s marketing flyer, which no doubt was stapled to the handy talking points memo that came in from the DNC.

So, what does this tell us? It tells us that Judge Sullivan is worried, very worried. The order from the DC Circuit demanded a response personally from him, not some “high-profile lawyer” with a “get-results style.” It also tells us that the judge who refused to allow the DOJ’s motion to dismiss the case is not confident that he is capable of explaining his own actions. Amazing.

The Post story indicates that Wilkinson plans to file a notice to the court that she will be doing the responding on the judge’s behalf, something the Circuit Court has no obligation to allow. This will be another very interesting week in the Soviet-style show trial of General Flynn.

“None of the men are wearing masks.” – President Donald Trump (I never tire of typing those three glorious words) drove the corrupt news media nuts once again on Saturday, simply by playing his first round of golf since early March. The automatonic ghouls at CNN and MSNBC tut-tutted about it all day long, obsessing over the fact that, while spending four hours in the wide open spaces, neither the President nor any of his playing partners and entourage were – gasp! – wearing masks.

Coronavirus: Trump golfs while 2014 comes back to haunt him

Oh, the humanity!

Not even Anthony Fauci is confused enough to pretend that wearing a mask would serve any productive purpose in that setting, and you can be certain that none of the TV talking heads, cooped-up in their enclosed studios with cameramen and production staff, were wearing masks while doing all the tut-tutting and tsk-tsking.

These are the worst people in our society. They truly are.

Yore attenshun good citizens! Tha Honorabull Rayaph Coonman Northam is a-gonna go visit tha beach and mingle with tha peoples down theyah! – Meanwhile, detestable Democrat Virginia Governor Ralph Northam was doing this:

Image

No one at CNN or MSNBC had a word to say about it. Funny how that works.

Living in a Democrat state is hazardous to your health. – No really, it is. Reuters compiled data showing that residents in “blue” areas of the country are three times more likely to die of the Wuhan Virus than residents living in the “red” areas:

Image

So, come on to Texas and Florida, folks, but when you get here, don’t vote for Democrats.

Speaking of dangerous Democrat governors… – Andrew Cuomo, in his frenzy to misdirect blame for his state’s thousands of nursing home deaths anywhere but in his direction, is now claiming that he issued his order forcing hospitals to send infected elderly patients back to nursing homes based on guidance from the Trump Administration:

Gov Cuomo blames Trump administration for forcing him to send 4,300 coronavirus hospital patients to nursing homes where 5,800 New York residents died

  • New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has argued that he was simply following White House guidance on sending hospital patients to nursing homes
  • ‘Don’t criticize the state for following the president’s policy,’ Cuomo said
  • It was revealed Thursday that 4,300 recovering coronavirus patients were sent to New York’s already vulnerable nursing homes
  • There have been more than 5,800 nursing and adult care facility deaths in New York

This is a completely false claim. No guidance from the federal government or anyone else justified Cuomo’s unconscionable, ghoulish order.

But here are tools supplied by the federal government to New York that Governor Cuomo could have used to avoid sending those infected patients to those nursing homes, where they infected thousands more residents who might otherwise have avoided the virus:

  • A 1,000 bed Navy hospital ship that saw a grand total of 84 patients before leaving New York Harbor;
  • A 2,900 bed field hospital at the Jacob Javits Center that Cuomo and Bill de Blasio barely used;
  • A 500 bed field hospital in Brooklyn that also sat barely used.

Let’s be crystal clear: Andrew Cuomo and Andrew Cuomo alone is responsible for the needless deaths of thousands of nursing home residents in New York. Period.

That is all.

Hydroxychloroquine: A Texas Family Doc Debunks Democrat/Media HCQ Myths

Guest Piece by Dr. A.B. Spence, MD

Subject: Hydroxychloroquine and the curious case of it becoming dangerous

I’m a retired (on October 1, 2019) Family Practitioner with 40 years of experience on what is now called the front lines of medical practice. I never considered myself a warrior or hero during the flu seasons, including the H1N1 epidemic, but I’m fine and dandy with those terms being used to describe my colleagues and all the other medical staff and personnel that are confronting this awful Chinese virus daily since it was unleashed on our shores a few months ago.

At age 70 and with what I suppose is a comorbidity of rheumatoid arthritis and taking the miracle drug Humira, an immunosuppressant, if I were still in practice at this time I would unquestionably be taking Hydroxychloroquine as a prophylactic measure. There is anecdotal evidence that it can help resist or prevent the spread of Covid 19, and in many cases it has been shown to successfully treat Covid patients. It’s also one of the safest prescribed medications a person can take.

At least it was prior to President Trump expressing hope a couple of months ago that it could be helpful in treating Covid 19. Then it became a dangerous drug, poisonous, that would kill a lot of people with cardiac arrhythmias or whatever. And as proof the media told us about an old fella that died after guzzling an industrial fish tank cleaner that contained chloroquine as an ingredient. Somewhere Darwin simply smiled knowingly on that report.

As I researched hydroxychloroquine in the early days of the pandemic, I couldn’t find one documented case of a person dying from a cardiac arrhythmia. And this covered over 60 years of the drug being used as a treatment of and prophylaxis against malaria, both short term and long term usage. All of you reading this know of the millions of dosages given to certain people with autoimmune diseases that successfully take HCQ with no untoward reactions.

The word “anecdotal”, as it applied to Hydroxychloroquine, took on a different meaning also. In this case it is used in a demeaning manner as it wasn’t “science.” It hasn’t been proven to be effective without a shadow of doubt. No double blind or whatever studies have been done with HCQ to prove it’s 100% effective in dealing with Chinese virus. And on and on.

I can assure you that the medical profession has prescribed drugs and therapies forever based on anecdotal evidence that suggest off label treatments may be helpful for certain diseases. Most or possibly all with greater risk versus benefit profiles than HCQ and Corona Virus.

And if you think about it, the country’s entire response to the Chinese virus, the lockdowns, the masks, the gloves, the fear of contaminated surfaces, the social distancing, the closing of “nonessential” businesses, the disastrous school closings, the destruction of our best ever economy, the slaughter of thousands of our most frail senior citizens in nursing homes by certain Democrat governors (I’m looking at you Cuomo and Murphy) have been and continue to be based on anecdotal evidence of how the virus spreads, who is most at risk, how to treat it, etc. In these instances it’s referred to as “science.”

Every time I hear a leftist power hungry governor, mayor, judge, representative, senator, or medical bureaucrat say they’re going to “follow the science” to keep ruining our economy I want to vomit.

With that I I’ll stop. Feeling a bit nauseous.

A. B. Spence, M.D.

Larry Schweikart: Democrats Push the Panic-Porn Button

Guest Contribution by America’s History Teacher, Larry Schweikart

As the Democrat governors lose the narrative of the China Virus—and also lose control of their states, they have ratcheted up the panic-porn to new levels. Hoax News reporters harangue President Donald Trump about not wearing a mask, then about taking hydroxychloroquine, then about whether he would shut down the country if the China Virus numbers suddenly rise again.

His answers? “No, I won’t wear a mask,” “I’ve been taking hydroxycholoroquine for two weeks,” and “No, I won’t shut the country down again.”

Bravo.

It’s clear none of this has anything whatsoever to do with a flu and everything to do with damaging the U.S. economy enough to keep Trump from getting massively reelected. After all, they did it once before . . . sort of. In early October, 2016, as Joel Pollak and I revealed in our book How Trump Won, the Trump team was circulating internal polls that were shockingly good for The Donald. How good? They had him within the margin of error in Illinois, Rhode Island, and Oregon. They had him even in Minnesota (which, as it turned out, was the case).

I am convinced that Hillary Clinton’s team was reading the same tea leaves, and had to do anything to stop the momentum. I believe that is why they rolled out the “Access Hollywood” tape so early. It did have a damaging, but quite temporary, effect on the Trump team. But by election day, the impact had faded, and while Trump did not carry Oregon, or Rhode Island, or Illinois, he did shock the pundits by winning perennial teaser states for the GOP like Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, and came reasonably close to winning Virginia and within a hair of winning New Hampshire. This suggests that early internal polling had some merit.

The point is, “Access Hollywood” was a last-minute, desperate brake on Trump’s momentum. While the Democrats didn’t introduce the China Virus to the U.S.—China did—they reveled in an opportunity to again put a brake on Trumpmentum. One can look at polls from the same Hoax Pollsters who gave us a Hillary landslide in 2016, or who missed Wisconsin by an average of six points, or who missed the Ron DeSantis/Rick Scott/Josh Hawley/Mike Braun elections in 2018. Those same Hoax Pollsters say that Joe (I’m hidin’) Biden, who hasn’t appeared in public at a live event in nearly two months, is somehow leading President Trump.

If you buy that, then you likely have the Las Vegas Raiders winning the Super Bowl this year, too.
What the draconian lockdowns by the blue-state governors, particularly Gretchen Whitmer in Michigan, J. B. Pritzker in Illinois, Gavin Newsom in California, and Andrew Cuomo in New York have done is to finally . . . finally . . . chip away at the remaining Democrat base. Already—and the Democrats, deep in their evil hovels of voter analysis know this—Trump has been eroding the black vote and has been actually building quite a bit of Hispanic support. Most polls put Trump’s black approval at between 16% and 22%.

Blacks, and even black conservatives, are quick to insist that Trump won’t get that much of the actual black vote, and they are right. He doesn’t need to. He’ll get between 12-13% actual vote, but add to that another 3-5% of black voters who will stay home. That is a death sentence for the Democrats. That alone would put Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida, and North Carolina in Trump’s column. But when you add that to his up to 47% (in some polls) Hispanic support, and combine that with the outrage in the suburban areas of Virginia, Minnesota, Colorado, and other states enduring a lockdown, Trump’s electoral college numbers are poised to soar.

These last two weeks we had two good tests of the public mood on the lockdowns. A Republican held the WI7 seat largely on the basis of winning mail-in ballots, and not just absentees! In California, Mike Garcia flipped the seat previously held by Katie (The Fuller Brush Girl) Hill, who had resigned. Garcia won by nine, and most surprising of all, continued to break even in the days after the election when Democrat “vote harvesting” often produces surprises. Then, in Staughton, Virginia, Republicans flipped three out of three city assembly seats in a district that went for Barack Obama twice. The issues? Guns and the lockdown.

When you add to this the fact that Governor Cuomo literally sentenced old people to death by sending China-Virus-infected old people back to nursing homes, I think you’ll start to see a serious boil here by election time. The last hope was to somehow perpetuate the panic through the virtue-signaling wearing of masks (of dubious effectiveness, as admitted even by St. Fauci). It ain’t happenin’. The red states that opened, such as Georgia and Florida, have lower rates of the China Virus now. Remarkable what sunlight and herd immunity will do to the flu.

As for Trump? He will be the beneficiary of not only creating one, but two great economies by election time, while simultaneously overcoming the China Virus. The Democrats couldn’t help themselves. They pushed the Panic Porn Button too soon.

Monday News Roundup: Rand Paul is Done With Fauci and Cuomo Scurries for Cover

The Mid-Day Campaign Update

“My fellow Republican senators have tried to see things from the Speaker’s point of view, but we can’t get our heads that far up our rear ends.” – Louisiana Senator John Kennedy on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo just now, talking about Pelosi’s $3 trillion “stimulus bill” atrocity.

Oops, he did it again. – Remember how serial alarmist Anthony Fauci warned that we would see a spike in Wuhan Virus cases in states that opened up their economies early? Yeah, that’s not happening, according to HHS Secretary Alex Azar. Appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union” program with Snake Jake Tapper, Azar had this to say about that:

“We are seeing that in areas that are opening, we’re not seeing the spike in cases. We still see spikes in some areas that are, in fact, closed, very localized situations. And so this is going to be very important for us to watch the circumstances on the ground. With reopening, what’s the key to reopening?”

Thus, as with every other prediction Fauci has made related to this Chinese plague over the past four months, he turns out to have been wrong. When are we going to quit listening to this guy?

Rand Paul is certainly grown weary of Fauci’s faulty advice. – In a weekend interview with NewsMax TV’s Greg Kelly, Senator Paul had this to say about Fauci’s contention that we need to keep schools closed through the fall semester:

“The future is difficult and we shouldn’t assume that one guy with a Ph.D. or an M.D. knows everything about the future,” he said.

“Every school was closed and not one kid was sick in Kentucky. Is that an overreach? I don’t know,” Paul added. “We have 600,000 people out of work in Kentucky now. We’ve got devastating numbers where we’re gonna bankrupt the state again on unemployment, even though we’ve given $3 trillion out.

“There’s not enough money in China, there’s not enough money to be printed at the Federal Reserve. We’ve gotta open the economy and we have to be reasonable about this. We can’t wait for perfection. That’s my gripe with Dr. Fauci. Not that he’s a disingenuous person or he doesn’t have the right motives. I think he does. I think he wants what’s best for the country. But so do I, and we have to have a debate over whether we keep the economy closed. I don’t think it can go on forever.”

[End]

Senator Paul is right.

Perfect example of how Democrats behave in the face of adversity. – Fascist California Governor Gavin Newsom is being quoted today by The Hill as promising that first reponders “will be the first ones laid off by cities and counties” if congress doesn’t provide a bailout for blue states like California that have been mismanaged by Democrats for decades and now find themselves on the brink of bankruptcy.

There are literally hundreds of budget items in any city or county government that can be cut instead of laying off first responders. But Democrat mayors, city councils and county governments invariably, without fail, resort to laying off law enforcement and firefighters first any time spending must be addressed. They do this for two reasons: 1) because fighting fires and crime are their lowest personal priorities, and 2) in order to make the process of cutting a budget as painful as possible on the community they govern.

In making his promise to The Hill, Newsom is simply following the standard Democrat playbook.

Speaking of thuggish Democrat governors, Fox has a really good report detailing the fact that several of them are now facing a string of lawsuits challenging their clearly unconstitutional orders. Newsom alone is facing at least a dozen such suits.

And it isn’t just Democrat mayors who are being challenged. Buried way down in this piece is a paragraph discussing the fact that Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is threatening to file actions against several big-city Democrat mayors and county judges over their 0wn efforts to enforce public restrictions that exceed those issued by Governor Greg Abbott. Abbott will hold a press conference Monday afternoon outlining his own plans for moving forward, and I’m told he will address this matter during that conference.

Meanwhile, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is coming under fire for his Sunday comments about thousands of elderly citizens dying in his state’s nursing homes.:

“We worked it out so we always had available beds. Nobody was deprived of a bed or medical coverage in any way. And still people died. Still people died. Older people, vulnerable people are going to die from this virus. That is going to happen, despite whatever you do.”

Prior to that passage, Cuomo had defended his decision in March to force his state’s nursing homes to admit infected patients, an action that no doubt resulted in thousands of other elderly patients in those homes contracting COVID-19 and dying. In defending his decision, Cuomo said no one is to blame, and “no one should go to jail” for having caused those deaths.

How to react to this? Well, first, try to imagine the uproar you would be hearing today had President Trump issued the order that Cuomo issued. The cacophony would be overwhelming, and we would already have impeachment proceedings taking place in the House of Representatives.

But because Cuomo is a protected Democrat, the corrupt, mainstream media is essentially silent on this matter, and has been for weeks as the scandal has percolated.

But second, note that Cuomo is to some extent correct here. Older people, vulnerable people with underlying health conditions, are most at-risk from this virus, and are going to die from it. Note also that, according to the Dept. of Health and Human Services, the average remaining life span of an elderly person admitted into a nursing home in this country is a stunning 5 months. Thus, many of the thousands of New York nursing home residents whose deaths have counted as COVID-19 would have died in any event, and a high percentage of them really died from another cause.

That having been said, all of that reality ultimately condemn’s Cuomo’s approach to the matter. The proper response to this virus in the first place would have been to focus resources on protecting nursing home patients and others among the most vulnerable. That’s what governors like Florida’s Ron DeSantis and other Republicans did, and their states have not experienced anything like the problems in nursing homes that New York has seen.

Instead, Cuomo shut down his entire state, depriving millions of jobs and shutting down hundreds of thousands of businesses that will never come back. Even worse, he actively ordered infected patients to be embedded among the most vulnerable of all in his state’s nursing homes.

Cuomo’s rationalizations notwithstanding, someone is responsible. If he wants to know who, he should look in a mirror.

That is all.

The Motivations Behind the Fascist Democrat Governors and Mayors

Today’s Campaign Update (Because the Campaign Never Ends)

Today, we’re going to talk about what motivates these budding fascist mayors, county judges and governors, almost all of whom also happen to be Democrats. After all, they aren’t taking the actions they are taking against the unlucky people in their jurisdictions in a vacuum. These are all politicians, and politicians all have pressures that motivate them to act in certain ways.

To set this up, let’s first refer to a great piece over at RedState.com that was referred to me yesterday by a friend. The writer, Mike Ford, goes through many of the facts I’ve written about here regarding how Drs. Fauci, Birx and their disastrously wrong statistical model have basically run our country for the last 3 months, and destroyed our economy in the process. The results have been catastrophic, have essentially destroyed the greatest economy on the face of the earth, and none of it needed to happen.

Here is an excerpt from the summary section of that piece:

Basically, the governors and mayors with the encouragement of the federal government denied the civil rights of broad swaths of the American citizenry. They abridged the right to earn a living on the unproven chance that it might save a stranger’s life. What’s worse, it wasn’t like we demanded that all of America make this sacrifice. No. We actually forced the weakest (financially) among us to carry this load. Interestingly, I find anecdotally that the folks most interested in keeping this shutdown in place until we are “perfectly safe,” aren’t the hourly wage, service industry workers who have been forced to shoulder almost this entire burden. Nope. It’s the “essential workers,” people whose occupation allows telecommuting, the media, and, of course, folks on government salaries.

Mind you, none of the above was done via legislative action, which might have made it somewhat more palatable. It was all done via executive orders, big and small. As new data comes in, we are seeing that all of this had little-to-no effect on the spread of the virus nor the number of fatalities. We trampled on the Constitution, destroyed our economy, and wrecked the lives of millions of Americans…for nothing. And we aren’t done yet.

[End]

Now, let’s look at the chart below, which was published by England’s Office of National Statistics last week:

No photo description available.

The chart is easy to understand: It shows the average mortality rate per 100,000 by age group. It is the single most compelling piece of information I have seen anywhere about the Wuhan Virus. This chart and this chart alone proves the case Mr. Ford makes in his piece at RedState.

Put simply, this chart conclusively demonstrates that this virus is a disease that kills almost no one under the age of 55. Yes, young people do contract the virus and a handful have died from its effects. Those deaths of young people have of course been massively trumpeted by your corrupt news media as a means of supporting the Democrat goal of keeping the shutdown in place, but they have been few and far between.

This data clearly shows that the intelligent way to have gone about dealing with this virus would have been to ask older people to self-quarantine and to allow anyone under the age of 55 to keep living their lives and more rapidly building a national herd immunity to this plague that will ultimately come about anyway. Had everyone just taken the example of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, whose very first act was to start working to protect elderly folks inside his state’s nursing homes, a huge portion of these deaths would have been avoided.

Instead, our government told tens of millions of young Americans – the vast majority of them in the lower-middle to lower classes in terms of income – that their jobs and businesses were “non-essential” and forced them onto the government dole. And now we have this ruling class of banana republic governors, mayors and county judges doing everything they can, not to reopen their economies and put people back to work, but to extend the pain out for as long as they can get away with.

In my weekly radio appearance with host Gregg Budell on FM 93.1 WACV in Montgomery, AL yesterday, we talked about what it is exactly that motivates these Democrat politicians to act in this way. To understand that, you have to first understand how the Democrat political mind in the 21st century works, which I talked about in yesterday’s Campaign Update, “The Real Reason Why Pelosi Won’t Call the House Back Into Session.”

Here’s an excerpt from that piece:

But Democrats are different – make no mistake about it. They don’t care about people dying or 30 million Americans having been put out of jobs; all they care about is politics. After all, the Wuhan Virus is killing mainly old people, and old people happen to be mostly Republican voters. Democrats like Pelosi and Schumer see this and their only thought is that man, this could really tilt a few congressional races in November if enough old people die in the right districts.

Those 30 million additional unemployed? To your typical Democrat politician, their only thought is that that is one huge target-rich environment of potential Democrat voters. If they can just keep enough of those 30 million on unemployment until November it could be an electoral gold mine.

[End]

Once you understand that and accept it, then you need to look and identify who funds Democrat campaigns in this country today, and the voting constituencies that put them into office in the first place.

Who funds Democrats these days? That’s easy: Billionaires like George Soros, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and the rest of the very wealth, globalist class in this country; the radical environmentalist community; government workers; and labor unions, in that descending order. Make no mistake about it, the Democrat Party – not the GOP as the corrupt media still likes to claim – is the party of the very wealthy, globalist class in this country and their FEC filings clearly prove that fact. The radical environmentalists – the Party’s other major funder – are thrilled to death with all of this economic carnage, since it is what their Green New Deal would implement, anyway, and hey, our carbon footprint is so much lower! Seriously, do not doubt me on this.

So, we know who funds the campaigns; now, let’s look at a few examples of the constituencies these aspiring tinpot dictators are trying to please.

Virginia Governor Ralph “Coonman” Northam is a great and easy example here. Northam governs what is by and large a very rural state that has two major population centers that vote overwhelmingly Democrat: Richmond, and the Alexandria/Arlington metro area. Those rural areas of the state have been barely impacted by this Chinese plague, but they vote overwhelmingly Republican, and Northam couldn’t care less what the people in those counties need or think.

The capital city of Richmond, on the other hand, has two huge Democrat voter blocs: Government workers and folks who were already on the government dole before anyone had ever heard of the Wuhan Virus. The government workers are all still getting paid, so they’re happy to have this extended vacation as long as Gov. Coonman wants to give it to them. The folks who are used to living on the government dole haven’t really been impacted, so what do they care?

The Alexandria/Arlington area is now overrun with federal government workers thanks to the vast expansion of the federal workforce during the Obama years, and they have the same story: They’re all getting paid to “work from home,” which for many means sitting on their butts playing video games, so they’re all fat and happy like the state government workers in Richmond.

Thus, at the end of the day, Northam looks around and sees he still has his cash flow in place, and his voters are all perfectly happy sitting at home doing nothing, so there is no price to be paid for just extending these draconian orders out for as long as possible.

In Michigan, Generalissimo Gretchen Whitmer has much the same motivating factors in place: She’s just trying please her Party’s natural constituencies in cities like Detroit, Lansing and other metro centers.

In Oregon, Governor Kate Brown is just trying to please her natural constituencies that largely lie along the Interstate 5 corridor.

The exact same logic and formula applies in states like New York, New Jersey and California, and even in cities in Red states like Dallas and Houston in Texas, where Democrat County Judges Clay Jenkins and Lina Hidalgo have gone completely mad with power.

This really is the truth, folks. Decades of focusing on identity politics above all other considerations really has completely warped the Democrat mind in our country, and in fact makes that party the single biggest danger to the country’s ultimate survival.

They aren’t motivated by what is best for the country as a whole – that arcane subject never even enters their minds. They are motivated by two things and two things only: Money, and power, and how to obtain and maintain both.

And so, here we are.

That is all.

The Tara Reade Story Might be the Democrat Party’s Real Plan B

The Mid-Day Campaign Update

Guest Contribution by Gregg Updike

Boy, does the MSM (D) and the DNC really have to tie themselves up in knots in their attempt to thread the political needle in this election cycle.

The Democratic leadership and the left are users, plain and simple.  They use loyal donkeys to suit their purpose at the moment and dump them like yesterday’s trash when their ‘use by date’ expires.  Here are some examples:

Al Franken was propped up and helped over the finish line in Minnesota by the DNC’s Voter Fraud Division in his defeat of Norm Coleman (R) to gain a blue senate seat.  Then, to provide credibility and show they were all in on the #MeToo (bowel) movement, they dumped him as he became expendable for several reasons:

  1. To give the appearance that Democrats care about women. The left had to sacrifice a politico along with Harvey Weinstein – another operative who was dumped after being milked for all he was worth.
  2. To clear the field for his co-senator – Amy Klobuchar – to run for president; remember he was being touted as a possible serious presidential contender at the time.
  3. To knock out a candidate who was an easy target so that lightweight Senator Kristin Gillibrand (D) NY, would have less competition in her bid. I single her out because she showed phony righteous indignation to Franken’s behavior, but not so much to Bill Clinton and his enabling wife and others, when it could have mattered. Gillibrand took an easy opportunity to end a competitor’s bid.
  4. The blue senate seat was safe since the Minnesota governor was a Democrat and appointed an even more radical senator. Would Franken have been cashiered so quickly if the Minnesota governor had been a Republican? I think not.  Franken would have been defended to the hilt like all their other reprobates.

Other examples:

The Democratic Party used the new, “bright, clean, and articulate” (quoting Joe Biden) Barack Hussein Obama to sandbag Hillary in 2008 – they got a bonus when the Republicans ran the pathetic “hero” John McCain and got their empty suit figurehead elected twice.

They used Bernie Sanders in 2016, originally to show that Bill’s Wife could win in a semi-competitive race.  However, when it became way too competitive, Sanders had to be sandbagged AND bought off to protect Obama’s third term, and because it was “Her turn”.

As all of this year’s hopefuls flamed out, the Head Honchos of the DNC were forced to go with the ‘steady’ safe  warhorse Joe after trying to gut his chances with some planted anti Biden stories early in his run last year.  As every Democratic hopeful – except for Sanders – proved to be exceedingly bad and dropped out, Biden hung around and became the last viable choice to be used to take out the communist Sanders and to save the down ballot races.  Pocahontas was also used to intercourse Sander’s strong bid by staying in the race just long enough to split his radical base for Gaffe O. Joe to ‘win’ big on Super Tuesday.

Gaffe O. Joe was used to successfully take out the sure loser in order to prevent a down ballot wipeout.  Now, with the economic devastation wrought by the China virus, Trump is seen as possibly beatable.  That being their current perception, the DNC and MSN (D) are now desperately searching for a viable replacement and not just a ballot filler like Mondale was in 1984, to run against Trump. Choosing some creditable, appealing, and capable vice president nominee to garner enough votes for a victory is just not going to cut it – no one votes for a Vice President (even Michelle Obama) on the come.

This means the propaganda wing of the MSNDNC has to strategically get in gear to force Gaffe O. Joe to leave on his own accord, and not anger the entire Democratic voting base.  How best to do that?

They know they can’t use Hunter and the Ukraine and China connections because too many Deep Staters will also be taken down – Government Scandals can only be used against GOP Presidents.  That amendment is in the DC DS private constitution.  They have to find another angle to get Biden to leave. They have carried his gaffes and, to some degree, successfully hidden is intellectual deficiencies and mental decline for so long, it would be a hard sell to now use it against him.

However, they can carefully and gradually introduce a decades old sex scandal into the equation, but keep it on the down low, simmering, on a credible – to some, but relatively minor ‘news’ outlet – Politico.  That way, if it is determined that Trump is invincible, we’ll go with plan “A” and let Biden be Mondale the second.

However, if Trump is perceived by DNC internal polling as beatable in the next several months, Plan “B” will be activated if the DNC think they have a viable (Mark Cuban? Andrew Cuomo? Gary Newsom?) replacement.  Plan “B” will be launched with many “Breaking News” stories that will come from an exhaustive media ‘investigation’ of the “Politico” reports on then Senator Biden’s sexual misconduct, demotion and firing against and of Tara Reade back in 1993.

Gaffe O. Joe’s campaign will have been effectively scuttled.  The Democratic Party will have ‘real’ evidence as to how much they care about women.  They will then get to pick who they want to run against Trump, since there won’t any time to have a democratic type primary process.  Just like in the good old days, the Head Honchos in smoke filled rooms will get to choose the candidate.  This is all setting up well for plan “”B to be at least partially successful in that it could at least prevent a major fracturing of their base and gain a lot of points as a party who cares about the woman.

That is all.
