Sorry Nancy, Your Coveted “Blue Wave” Just Isn’t Building

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Democrats – if they didn’t exist, no one in their right mind would dream of making them up. – In an interview on Monday, San Fran Nan said she agrees that, where the Democrats are concerned, “it’s time for new blood and we should move on.”  That’s the good part.  But in her next breath, she promised to continuing clinging to power so long as Donald Trump is President: “to have no woman at the table and to have the Affordable Care Act at risk, I said, ‘As long as he’s here, I’m here.”

Republicans everywhere popped open the champagne at the prospect of continuing to have the past and possibly future Speaker of the House as fodder for their campaign ads.

Hey, if he won’t get down into the ’30s on his own, we’ll just put him there. – The fake news hacks at CNN loudly trumpeted their new “poll” on Monday, a “poll” which purports to show President Trump’s public approval rating at just 38%.  That all looks pretty disturbing for the President until you look into the bowels of how the “poll” was conducted and realize that it included just 25% Republicans in its sample of self-described “registered voters.”

Had the poll instead included around 34-35% Republicans, which is what it should have done, its result most likely would have shown the President’s approval at about 42-43%, which is pretty much where other polls of registered voters are putting it these days.  Meanwhile, the most accurate poll during 2016, Rassmussen, which is also the only poll taking the time and effort to survey “likely” voters, pegs Mr. Trump’s approval rating at 48%.

Thus, what we clearly have with the CNN poll was yet another example of a fake news organization dummying up some more fake news on what was otherwise a fairly slow news day.  Sadly typical.

But CNN’s not alone.  We saw ABC and the Washington Post issue a similarly faked-up poll on the generic congressional preference question at the end of August.  This poll pretended to find that the Democrats suddenly had a 14-point lead among registered voters on that question.  Really?  Can that be right?

Well, given that other recent polls of registered voters (Economist/Yougov and Reuters/Ipsos) pegged the Democrat edge at 9 and 5 points, probably not.  Then when you consider that the two recent polls on this question that look at “likely voters” (Rasmussen and Grinnell/Selzer) show the Democrat edge barely present at 4 and 2 points, the ABC/WaPo poll becomes a clear outlier.

A real polling organization, when its “sample” (assuming there really was a sample) produces a result so clearly outside of any notion of reasonableness, might be expected to take a second look at things before rushing to publish.  But ABC/WaPo and CNN are not real polling organizations – they are ostensibly “news” organizations, and they unfortunately seem to produce these polls in an effort to manufacture news, not to truly inform the public.

You may remember that ABC/WaPo are also the same two media organizations that dummied up a poll just two weeks prior to Election Day 2016 that pretended to show Hillary Clinton holding a 13-point lead over Donald Trump.  When even the Nate Silvers and New York Times‘s of the world guffawed at that silly result, I predicted what its new margin would be each and every day over the next ten days, and got it on the nose every day but one as the fake poll’s margin very predictably narrowed to within its margin of error the Friday before the votes were cast.  I was able to do that because the poll’s results were pretty clearly tailored to make news, not to accurately gauge the state of the race.

The thing about polls these days is that the legitimate polling organizations continue to struggle with how to actually obtain a decent sample that really is reflective of society at large.  Some of these groups, like Rasmussen, appear to have a pretty good handle on things, and some of them keep monkeying around with their methodologies.  The one disturbing generic congressional ballot poll by a legitimate organization recently is the one by Emerson College last week that arrived at a 13-point edge for the Democrats.

Emerson describes its methodology as follows:

“The sample consisted of registered voters, n=1,000, with a Credibility Interval (CI) similar to a poll’s margin of error (MOE) of +/- 3.2 percentage points. The data was weighted by ethnicity, age, party affiliation, region and mode. It is important to remember that subsets based on gender, age, party breakdown, ethnicity and region carry with them higher margins of error, as the sample size is reduced. Data was collected using both an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system of landlines only (n=500) and an online panel provided by Survey Monkey (n=500).”

Who knows if that convoluted method renders a result that can be trusted?  Then again, after the absurdity of the polling results in 2016, it’s an open question whether any of these poll results really produce anything worth reading, other than providing, on average, some general trend.

Right now, the trends are a) President Trump’s public approval rating is right where it has been throughout this entire year, and b) the Democrats have a modest edge in the generic ballot question, but not a big enough edge that would produce their much-coveted “blue wave” come November.

The Campaign Update told you way back in December that there would be no “blue wave” in this election, and nothing that has happened since that time has changed that general outlook.  Lots can happen in the 8 weeks remaining until Election Day, but the reality is that public attitudes appear to be pretty much set.

All of which means that we should expect the Republicans to pick up somewhere between 2-5 net seats in the U.S. Senate, and the Democrats to gain seats in the House, but not enough to saddle the nation with San Fran Nan as Speaker of the House one more time.

Just another day in just ignore all the fake polls America.

That is all.

This was not the plan for the Fake News Media. Oh, no – not even close.

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

This was not the plan for the fake news media.  Oh, no – not even close.  Part I – President Donald Trump held another of his raucous rallies in South Carolina on Monday, this one in support of the re-election of Governor Henry McMaster, and things just did not go well, not well at all for CNN’s poor little Jim Acosta.

First, well before the evening’s program got underway, Acosta was, ahem, ‘accosted’ by someone’s great-grandmother, an older lady who decided it would be fun to hang out near the CNN position waaaayyyyy at the back of the hall and repeatedly shout “get him out!  get him out!”  You know, the kind of behavior that CNN loves to award copious amounts of air time whenever it comes from anyone on the political left.

Things just got worse for the little fake reporter when he went on-air for a live shot at his seditious network.  As Acosta went into his standard, tiresome anti-Trump screed, the crowd erupted with chants of “Go home, Jim!” and “CNN go home!”  Then, to top things off, one enterprising guy got close enough to get his “CNN Sucks” sign into the shot, and remained in the shot on live CNN feed for a good 15 seconds.

Of course, since these were Trump supporters and not professional leftwing agitators, this was all in good fun.  No one was threatened, no one was assaulted, no one was harmed, and many in the crowd actually came over to Acosta and other members of the press to take selfies and get autographs.  Because these people are Americans who love America, not a bunch of paid agitators.

But, well, CNN does suck, and Acosta is one of the main reasons why.

This was not the plan for the fake news media.  Oh, no – not even close.  Part II –Hey, check out this tweet from ABC News and the film embedded in it:

You know what that is?  That is President Donald J. Trump forcing the unwilling fake journalists at ABC to accidentally cover what is actually happening every hour of every day along our country’s border with Mexico.  That report actually aired on ABC’s prime time newscast, something the network would have never dreamed of airing just two weeks ago.

Here are other long-ignored border-related issues that the fake news media has accidentally been forced to cover in its efforts to support its Democrat wards on this fake “don’t separate the families!” issue:

  • Child trafficking and human smuggling;
  • Sex slavery, often involving young children;
  • Mexican gang warfare, often taking place north of the border;
  • How deeply these gangs, including MS13, have infiltrated our nation’s cities;
  • How woefully under-staffed our Border Patrol is;
  • The fact that 4 out of 5 of the kids in these holding centers are unaccompanied minors;

This list of border issues long ignored by the fake news media because they reflect badly on their political wards could go on and on.  If you are wondering why this issue is polling horribly for the Democrats, this is why:  Millions of Americans who stupidly depend on the major TV networks and CNN for their “news” have learned about the issues above for the first time over the past two weeks.

And then, of course, there’s Maxine Waters.  The Braying Buffoon has gone and gotten herself in a pickle with her clear incitements to violence over the weekend.  The ugly film of her repugnant screams has done irreparable damage to the increasingly depraved and despicable Democrat Party, and will no doubt provide dozens of Republican congressional candidates with fodder for extremely effective campaign ads in the Fall.

How bad is it for the Dems, you ask?  It’s so bad that both Chuck Schumer and San Fran Nan felt the need to repudiate Waters’ actions on Monday.  Schumer did so directly with a speech on the Senate floor, and Pelosi did it indirectly in a tweet, because that’s the kind of political coward she truly is.

Trust me on this, folks:  Neither Schumer nor Pelosi would have said a damn thing about the Mad Maxine incitements unless they had received some extremely negative polling and/or focus grouping information.  Those are the only things that motivate any Democrat politician to do anything.  Well, other than money.

Before any of you goes and gives these two slimeballs any credit at all for doing the right thing here, you need to remember that they and their silence are the main reasons why we have arrived at this point to begin with.  These two and every other leader in the Democrat Party have remained disgracefully silent through 20 months of riots, violent protests, public assaults on Trump supporters, public assaults on Trump officials, spying on Trump and his people by the FBI and a trumped-up Special Counsel witch hunt, all of which have combined to create the current toxic atmosphere in our public discourse.

Had either of these two clowns, or Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama or even Bernie Sanders had the personal integrity to speak out and condemn the rising violence and anti-social behavior on the political left since Election Day 2016, things would have immediately calmed down.  But they all – every one of them – bought into the “Resistance” and adopted it as their Party’s sole platform for the 2018 elections.

They all remained silent because, hey, this was the plan.  It’s been the plan all along, and save for the situations in which an idiotic rant by the Braying Buffoon costs them in the polls, it will remain the plan going forward for one simple reason:  The Democrat Party is bankrupt of ideas.

Think about it:  Everything the Democrat Party has stood for during the Obama Administration has been revealed to have been a lie.  The “new normal” of less than 2% economic growth?  A lie.  If you like your plan you can keep your plan?  A lie.  The Paris Climate Accords?  A pathetic lie.  You can’t just wave a magic wand and make those manufacturing jobs reappear?  A pathetic lie.  It’s impossible to root out ISIS?  A disgraceful lie.  We can’t drill our way to energy security?  A laughable lie.  The Iran deal?  A despicable lie.  You can’t talk to North Korea and get anything out of it?  A disgusting lie.  Open borders are good for the country?  A nation-ending lie.

These are desperate people now, because nothing they do works.  President Trump’s polling numbers have actually risen over the past two weeks amid all the fake hysteria about the border.  They are utterly shocked by this and have no idea what to do to change the dynamic.

Thus, they will do what they’ve done for the last 20 months:  Gradually try to drop this subject and move on to another faked-up scandal.  Because that really is all they got.

Just another day in November is going to be a Red Wave wipeout America.

That is all.

Horowitz Report Drops Today – Teen Drama Queens Prepping Their Defense

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

[Note:  The wonderful photoshop that accompanies this piece was constructed by a loyal Campaign Update reader who asked to be credited only as  dagalas.]

Hey, y’all, so far this week, President Donald Trump has gotten the Democrats and the fake news media to endorse:

– War games
– Nuclear weapons
– Refusing to negotiate with despots (where were they when Obama did that Iran deal?)
– Neverending war on the Korean peninsula

And it’s only Thursday morning!

PSA: Those loud noises you are hearing right now are just the sounds of liberal heads exploding…. – Two Norwegian lawmakers formally nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize on Wednesday.  The two are of course described as “right-leaning” members of Norway’s “Progress Party, which advocates for limited immigration and shrinking the size of government.”  Gosh, such radical ideas, wanting to preserve your country’s native culture and holding down the size of government.  If we didn’t have biased, stupid media, we would have no media at all in America.

And speaking of biased, stupid, fake news media…

“Ok, the President had a really great summit in Singapore, sadly.  So, here’s what we do:  ABC, you go with the fake report about Michael Cohen turning on Trump.  CBS, you toss out the false report about Sarah Sanders resigning.  CNN, well, you have the porn star franchise, so get on it!” –  Seriously, it’s like clockwork:  Any time President Donald Trump (I still never tire of typing those three words) has a domestic or international triumph, all the fake news media outlets start pumping out fake news stories designed to distract attention.

If that seems like a coordinated plan to you, that’s because it is a coordinated plan.  This is what your fake news media is in today’s world:  They aren’t “news” organizations, they are propaganda arms of the Democrat Party.  It’s been this way for quite some time now – at least since 1992, but really since shortly following World War II.

It’s become more amplified since November 2016 because the people at the top of these organizations are increasingly desperate.  With every successive act of #Winning, President Trump reveals the DC “Establishment” – mainly Democrats but also a raft of disloyal Republicans – to be a decades-long utter fraud perpetrated on the American people.  Tuesday’s election results, in which a challenger loyal to the President – Katie Arrington – knocked off longtime DC swamp creature Mark Sanford in South Carolina in a very surprising upset, only served to heighten the fake media’s panic.

And guess what?  Today is the day the next report from DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz drops.  Just imagine the frenzied flood of freakin’ news-fakery we are about to be treated to in the wake of that document going public at 3:00 ET this afternoon.  It will be glorious.

Several readers have asked this week what we should expect from this next Horowitz report.  My only honest answer is, hell if I know.  There are reasons to be concerned about what it might – or more likely, might not – contain, and reasons to be optimistic about it.

First, it is key to remember that the scope of this report is limited:  It only covers the DOJ/FBI conduct of its blatantly fake investigation into the Clinton email scandal, an investigation that we already know was little more than a desperate coverup designed to keep Barack Obama’s favored candidate from going to federal prison.  Horowitz is still working on a more comprehensive, subsequent report whose scope is far broader and will cover all of the DOJ/FBI efforts to fix the 2016 election and spy on the Trump Campaign, transition team and administration.

The main reason to be concerned about today’s report is that Horowitz has no doubt been placed under massive pressure internally at DOJ to mealy-mouth his findings.  We’ve already seen one report that the report will find ex-FBI Director and current teenage drama queen James Comey to have been “insubordinate”, but probably will not find him to have committed any crimes.  If that account – based of course on anonymous sources only – is accurate, then this report is a major fraud given that we already know beyond any shadow of a doubt that Comey has committed multiple perjuries before congressional committees and illegally leaked classified information to the New York Times.

So, right off the bat, we will have that barometer to inform us conclusively on the relative usefulness of this report.

The next big concern is how much of the report will be redacted.  We must remember that bad actors like Rod Rosenstein have had their greasy fingers all over this report for the past three weeks as it has gone through its review process.  Under Rosenstein’s incredibly corrupt leadership, DOJ has become notorious for redacting vast passages of documents under claims to be protecting national security, only to have it revealed later that the redacted information was merely embarrassing to the Department.  If Rosenstein has had his way with this report, we can expect that less than half of it will actually be open for public review.

But there are also reasons for optimism that this report will at least move the ball forward towards cleaning up some of the DOJ corruption and getting the process of perp-walking and prosecuting the key bad actors underway:

  • Horowitz himself has already agreed to testify before the House Oversight Committee next Monday, and that testimony will be offered under oath and threat of prosecution for perjury.  If he has been forced to make inaccurate changes to his report and the Republican members of that committee have the presence of mind to ask the right questions (we know the Democrats will only try to cover things up) then we can expect Horowitz to offer honest answers.  Or we can hope he will, anyway.
  • Horowitz is considered by most everyone to be one of the good guys, for good reason.  Yes, he served during the Obama Administration, but he was constantly engaged in fights with Obama’s corrupt attorneys general, who did everything they could to deny him the right to conduct his oversight responsibilities.
  • Then there’s the fact that, as noted above, this report has been circulating within DOJ for three weeks and also reportedly shared with the congressional “Gang of 8” – which includes notorious hacks like Dianne Feinstein and Adam Schiff – and none of it has been leaked to the press.  You can be damn sure if the original text of this report exonerated James Comey or Andrew McCabe or Peter Strzok or Lisa Page or any of the other bad actors within the FBI and DOJ, that news would have long ago appeared in the New York Times or Washington Post.  The fact that that has not happened gives us cause to hope that Horowitz has done his job.

A word of caution:  Reports like this are never fully satisfying to anyone.  Regardless of how hard Horowitz might have tried, it is literally impossible to fully keep political motivations out of any 500 page report produced in Washington, DC.

It is also very likely that those of us hoping for full justice will be initially mislead by what might seem to be inconclusive findings or mealy-mouthed language in the report, only to find out later that it is in fact extremely damaging to the subject.  It’s key to remember that Horowitz himself is not the prosecutor here:  His job is to simply lay out the facts, though he does have the power to make criminal referrals if he so chooses.

Once the report is out, the job of prosecuting the bad actors falls to the relevant U.S. attorney.  So, while you might initially be disappointed by language that, say, finds “insubordination” or “ignoring of departmental rules” by a James Comey or Andrew McCabe, we may discover later on that a prosecuting attorney finds that to be evidence of criminal conduct.

Bottom line:  I don’t know what’s in this report yet, but we’ll all have a pretty good idea by about 5:00 this afternoon.  Stay tuned.

Just another day on the poop is about to hit the fan America.

That is all.

Great News For America is Always Horrible News For Democrats. It’s a Rule.

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Yeah, that?  It’s not a good idea.  But please go ahead and do it anyway. – The genius program managers at ABC, panicked over the loss of their highest-rated spring program thanks to Roseanne Barr’s Twitter meltdown earlier this week, have now come up with the not-so-brilliant idea of doing a spinoff of “Roseanne” focused on the daughter, Darlene, played by the career mediocrity Sarah Gilbert.  Yeah, that’s not going to work, but I sure do hope they try.  It’s always fun watching these network sleazeballs fail.

Mr. Trudeau also requests that you all refrain from farting for the next 10 days. – And hey, the liberals up in Canada aren’t any better.  In preparations for hosting the upcoming G7 conference in Ottowa, boy king Justin Trudeau’s government has instructed the region’s farmers to avoid spreading manure-based fertilizers on their fields while the leaders from Italy, France, Germany, Great Britain, Japan and the U.S. are in town.  Wouldn’t want the international guests to experience any nasty odors, you know.

No word yet on whether the boy king has also placed travel bans into the country on Michael Moore, Samantha Bee and Kathy Griffin, but it seems likely.

Tired of all this Winning yet?  Part I – The news on the economy continues to be fantastic, with another tremendous jobs report for April, unemployment equaling the all-time low recorded since the statistic began to be measured in 1969, the labor participation rate at its highest in a decade, and black and Hispanic unemployment rates also at all-time lows.

The Atlanta branch of the Federal Reserve’s GDPNow forecast model now estimates second quarter GDP growth will come in at a whopping 4.8 percent, well above the 3% Trump target which was labeled impossible to achieve by America’s Biggest Mistake, Barack Obama.  Remember all the Obamatons’ talk about the “new normal” of 0-2% economic growth forever?  Funny, we don’t hear anyone saying that anymore.

The economy also added more than 20,000 manufacturing jobs during the single month of April.  Those are the jobs you may remember that Obama, speaking at an event at a Caterpillar location, told us were those old jobs that were “never coming back.”  Remember that?  The folks at booming Caterpillar certainly do.  When Donald Trump talked about bringing those jobs back on the campaign trail in 2015-16, Obama scoffed and said “you can’t just wave some magic wand” to make such jobs reappear.

Hey Barack, Yes We Can.

Tired of all this Winning yet?  Part II – Meanwhile, the increasingly sweating Democrats are so utterly bereft of any real idea on how to deal with all of this wonderful news for America (which is always horrible news for Democrats) that they sent the stammering, doddering San Fran Nan out in front of the TV cameras to say…wait for it….oh, this is a good one….“May’s jobs report shows that strong employment numbers mean little to the families hit with soaring new costs under the Republicans’ watch.”

No kidding, she really said that.  I swear I don’t make this stuff up.

So, the Democrat Party’s official response to all this fantastic jobs creation and economic growth is that it’s all bad because Republicans created it and Republicans are bad so it’s all bad.  Or something.  Did you follow that?  Yeah, nobody else did either.

Democrats.  If they didn’t exist, no one in their right mind would ever dream of making them up.

I hate to say I told you so, but hey, I told you so. – After receiving a gigantic letter (see below) from the Crazy Little Fat Guy in North Korea on Friday, President Trump announced to the leering fake news media that the summit meeting between the two men scheduled for June 12 in Singapore is going to happen after all.  This ‘news’ came as a shock to all the fake reporters and editors in our fake news media, because none of them have taken the time to try to understand how the President conducts strategic negotiations.

Those of you who read the daily Campaign Updates knew all of this a week ago.  No need to thank me.   This isn’t exactly rocket science here.

This wonderful news for America is also horrible news for Democrats (do you sense a recurring theme here?).  If the President is able to successfully negotiate a framework for the verifiable and permanent de-nuclearization of the Korean Peninsula with the Crazy Little Fat Guy, the Democrats may never recover.  Even an agreement in principle to begin a process would put a huge nail in the coffin of the already-pretty-much-dead “Blue Wave” that the Democrat agents in the fake news media were raving about as recently as March.

Because, repeat with me, Great News For America is Always Horrible News For Democrats.  There are no exceptions to this immutable rule.

Just another day in Donald Trump is killing the Democrat Party America.

That is all.

Grassley Schedules Hearing; Horowitz Report About to Drop

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

This was inevitable. – Roseanne Barr self-destructed on Tuesday, sending out a racist tweet targeting Barack Obama’s loathsome toady Valerie Jarrett, which resulted in her show being cancelled by the end of the day by Disney’s CEO Bob Iger.  Some of you have inquired over the last several weeks about why I haven’t said much of anything about the great success of Roseanne’s TV show revival, in which her character is a fan of President Trump.  Now you know.

Look, I never cared for Roseanne Barr to begin with and pretty much never watched her show when it was in its first run.  I found her to be personally repugnant, none of the characters on the show to be especially appealing or sympathetic, and the show itself to be inappropriate for the kids.  Why would things be any different 25 years later?

Plus, Roseanne herself is crazy, and some episode in which she personally imploded was frankly inevitable.  No one should ever hang their hat on some nutty celebrity – the same goes for Kanye West, who has been famously complimentary of the President in recent weeks as well.  He’s also a nut, and a personal implosion is pretty much inevitably in his future as well.

And please don’t respond to this with all these moral equivalency statements.  Yes, I know all sorts of leftist celebrities and fake news media personalities have made all sorts of racist and homophobic statements and tweets, and none of them get fired.  I don’t care – it’s how the media/entertainment complex double standard works.  If celebrities like Barr and Kanye don’t like it and can’t control their mouths then they shouldn’t engage in it.

Roseanne needed firing – I dislike Disney as much as anyone, but Iger really had no choice in the matter.  And all the people out there in social media trying to mount a campaign to get Fox to pick up the show are idiots.  Neither Fox nor anyone else would touch Roseanne with a 100-foot pole right now.

Roseanne is done – her only choice now is to do a Mel Gibson, disappear for about 5 years, and hope everyone forgets.  Sadly for her, they won’t.

Expect the Horowitz Report later this week. – Why?  Because Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley took the action late yesterday to schedule a June 5 hearing of his committee to examine the findings in the DOJ Inespector General’s report on the department’s fake investigation into the Pantsuit Princess email scandal and other Clinton-related matters.  No called witnesses are listed on the notice, but we can assume Horowitz will be one of them.

This obviously means that Grassley expects the report to be made public prior to that time, which makes sense given that it has been circulating within DOJ for almost three weeks now.  We should probably expect to see it late Friday.

Just as a reminder, this report ostensibly deals only with the Fainting Felon’s email abuse and the Comey-led, rigged investigation conducted by the FBI and DOJ.  It will also cover other related matters, whatever they might be.  It is not supposed to touch on all the rampant FISA abuse, the Uranium One scandal, the “Crossfire Hurricane” effort to spy on the Trump campaign and transition team, the illegal unmaskings, and all the other Obama-era process abuses at DOJ, FBI and the CIA, among others.

Those myriad abuses by the Obama Administration will be addressed in a subsequent IG report, which will hopefully come before the end of the century.  Ok, just kidding – it’s supposed to come sometime this summer.

But here’s the thing about that subsequent report:  the content of the report we are about to see will give us a very usable preview of what to expect in the next report.  If this upcoming report from the IG is just an effort to whitewash the whole thing and give Comey/Strzok/Page/Ohr/Baker/Priestap and others at FBI and DOJ a pass, the we can expect the subsequent report to do the same, and quit worrying about it all.

But if this IG report on the email scandal is a hard-hitting, no-nonsense report of the sort Mr. Horowitz is famous for – and that his report on Andrew McCabe’s actions certainly was – then we can be optimistic that the final report will be of similar quality.

The anticipation of waiting for this IG report reminds me of what I wrote shortly after Comey made his famous speech on July 6 , 2016 exonerating the Pantsuit Princess at the conclusion of his rigged investigation:

The tragedy of James Comey is one of lost opportunity. He and he alone had a chance – possibly the last chance anyone will ever have if Hillary is elected in November – to demonstrate that one of the foundational principles of the American Experiment still applies.

That foundational principle is that we are a country in which all people are indeed created equal. That this is a country that has no ruling class. That this is a nation of laws, not of men, and that the laws that apply to the lowest among us apply equally to those who attain the highest public status.

James Comey alone could have become a true American hero by showing that this principle still applies in our society. Because he lacked either the character or the courage to do so, he demonstrated, perhaps irrevocably, that the opposite is now true in Barack Obama’s fundamentally transformed America. We do now have a ruling class; we are no longer a nation of laws, but a nation of men; the law truly does apply differently to different people depending entirely on their class and political power.

It’s a tragedy, plain and simple.  Nothing else matters or need be said.

Michael Horowitz now has the same opportunity that Comey had almost two years ago – he can be remembered either as the steadfast public servant who, like Admiral Mike Rogers and Representive Devin Nunes, did everything he could to save the Republic, or just another tragic functionary in a hopelessly-corrupted Department of Justice.

Let’s hope he makes the right choice.  I’m not even going to hazard a guess.

Just another day in Michael Horowitz is the man of the hour America.

That is all.

President Trump Tweets, Mexico Blinks, Media Narrative Stinks

The Evening Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

After spending the last several days reporting that a large caravan of Honduran immigrants was traversing the length of Mexico in a quest to enter the U.S. illegally, the mainstream fake news media is now shifting gears to create a legend that the gang of illegal immigrants was never really headed for America at all.

Color me shocked.

This emergency change in fake news narrative comes after the Mexican government – obviously responding to warnings issued since Saturday by President Donald Trump – halted the procession of illegals in the state of Oaxaca, south of Mexico City, and began processing them through its own immigration laws.  Mexican officials denied that their action had anything to do with Trump’s threats to modify U.S. participation in NAFTA should the caravan continue to the U.S. border, but those denials ring hollow given that the procession had traversed the southern half of Mexico unimpeded until Monday’s sudden decision to bring it to a stop.

So, given that the overarching media/Democrat narrative demands that President Trump must never be credited with any positive outcome for America, all the fake reporters and editors have unified around the new tall tale.  The caravan’s organizers, however, keep letting the cat out of the bag.

Consistent with the new narrative, ABC’s Tuesday report on the matter hilariously stated that “Bogged down by logistical problems, large numbers of children and fears about people getting sick, the caravan was always meant to draw attention to the plight of migrants and was never equipped to march all the way to the U.S. border.”

This new fake media narrative flies in the face of earlier media reports of the procession, such as Buzzfeed’s coverage from March 31, which said in part, “Organized by a group of volunteers called Pueblos Sin Fronteras, or People Without Borders, the caravan is intended to help migrants safely reach the United States, bypassing not only authorities who would seek to deport them, but gangs and cartels who are known to assault vulnerable migrants.”

Obviously, before the President started tweeting about this caravan, there was no question about its ultimate intentions.  Which is not surprising, given that it is in fact an event that has been organized annually by Pueblos Sin Fronteras in recent years, always with the goal of reaching the U.S., a goal that was actively encouraged by the Obama Administration.  (Many readers will in fact remember media reports during the 2014-16 time frame of U.S. government officials actually helping to train the aspiring illegal immigrants on how to communicate with reporters and U.S. immigration officials once they reached the U.S. border.)

And don’t kid yourselves into thinking that this action by the Mexican government means the current caravan has actually come to an end.  As Buzzfeed’s Adolfo Flores is reporting today, many of the participants plan to continue on:

“At the end of the day these people have the right to ask for asylum,” said Gina Garibo, one of the organizers for Pueblos Sin Fronteras, the volunteer group that organized the caravan.

She denied the caravan was over. “We have to follow through with our promise” to help people gain asylum in the United States or Mexico, she said. Migrants would continue moving but in smaller groups than the caravan.

President Trump obviously recognizes this reality and promised at a Tuesday press availability to use the U.S. military to police the border:  “Until we can have a wall and proper security, we are going to be guarding our border with the military. That’s a big step,” Trump told reporters at the White House.

I pointed out in yesterday’s Daily Campaign Update that Mr. Trump was, with his Twitter activity on this issue, laying the groundwork for some form of executive action on border security.  Today, we see the manifestation of the first step towards that goal.  No one should assume it will be the last, just as no one should assume the current caravan has actually come to an end.

It’s a safe bet the fake news media will be forced to shift its narrative again before this is all over.

That is all.

The Timing on That ABC Piece About McCabe Investigating Sessions Sure Was Interesting

The Evening Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

So, let’s construct a little timeline…

February 28 – President Trump issues a seemingly nasty tweet that is critical of both Attorney General Jeff Sessions and DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz:

Early March – the fake news media, including ABC, leaps to the defense of Sessions and Horowitz, a reaction to Trump’s tweet that was as predictable as the sun rising in the East.

March 13 – The DOJ Office of Professional Responsibility recommends that Sessions fire former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.  That recommendation is based on a finding by IG Horowitz, stemming from his 14-month investigation into FBI/DOJ wrongdoing.

March 16 – Sessions fires McCabe late on a Friday evening, just two days before McCabe’s pension was set to kick in, ensuring that the firing would be one of the main topics of conversation on all the Sunday morning fake news programs.

March 17-18 – The fake news media, in obvious coordination with the Democrat Party, hilariously attempts to blame McCabe’s firing initially on President Trump.  Trump, of course, literally had nothing to do with the firing at all, and it quickly becomes apparent the public isn’t buying it.

March 18-19 – The fake news media also slowly begins to wake up to the fact that the firing of McCabe was executed by Sessions and Horowitz, two men they had all spent the first half of March saying very nice things about.  This makes it tough for them to shift their tactic from blaming Trump for McCabe’s firing to blaming Sessions.  But they have to blame someone in the Trump administration for some sort of wrongdoing in the McCabe firing, because that’s what the narrative dictates.  What to do?

March 21 – ABC tries to solve the conundrum with its story alleging that McCabe, almost a year ago, opened a criminal investigation targeting his own boss, Sessions.  By filing this story just a few days after McCabe’s firing, ABC obviously hopes to convey the blatantly false impression that Sessions actually fired McCabe because he was angry at having been investigated by a subordinate.

Sadly, this is how the fake media in our country works.  Nevermind that McCabe was smack in the middle of the abuse of the FISA process, the faking of the investigation into the Clinton email scandal, is alleged to have encouraged his subordinate, Peter Strzok, to falsify his notes from his interview with Mike Flynn in order to entrap Flynn into a trumped-up guilty plea for lying to the FBI, and on and on and on.  The narrative dictates that Donald Trump is the bad guy, and anyone who is on the bad side of Donald Trump is the good guy – it simply must be that way.

Which is why, when Trump issues a tweet critical of Sessions and Horowitz, the fake media rushes to their defense, and when Trump praises the firing of McCabe, the fake media rushes to call Sessions and Horowitz the real crooks.  Watching the fake media go back and forth on these guys is like watching a tennis match from the stands at center court.

But that’s what the anti-Trump narrative dictates, and the narrative must always prevail.  It’s important to remember here that literally no one is exempt from this simple rule.  Just wait to see what a villain Robert Mueller becomes in the fake news media’s eyes when he is finally forced to admit publicly that there was no collusion between the Trump Campaign and Russia.

That is all.

Fake News, Fake Republicans and Real, Live Snowflakes – Merry Resistmas, America!

  • Now we know why his approval rating in Arizona is 11%. – Hey, remember when Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake used to pretend to be a Republican, just like his fellow Senator, John McCain?  Yeah, those were good times, but they’re over now.  On Tuesday, Flake wrote a check to ultra-liberal Democrat Doug Jones, who is running against the very weird Roy Moore for the senate seat in Alabama.  Embarrassingly, Flake’s check to Jones, which he made sure to trumpet all over the social media space, was for a paltry $100, meaning he’s not only rankly dishonest, he’s also a skinflint.  But hey, liberals are always far more generous giving away other people’s money than contributing their own, right?
  • Hey, all you SJWs, snowflakes and pussy hat wearers, if you lack a tree-topper for your “holiday” tree this year, a mail-order company can supply you one of your favorite “inspiring woman”, so long as your favorite “inspiring woman” is either Beyonce’, Serena Williams or Hillary Clinton!  I swear I don’t make this stuff up:
  •
  • Our young people seem to suffer from a severe lack of self-awareness. – The UK Telegraph carried a piece yesterday titled, “Don’t call us snowflakes – it damages our mental health, say young people”.  I kid you not, it’s a serious piece.  Note to young people:  If being called a ‘snowflake’ damages your mental health, that means YOU’RE A DAMN SNOWFLAKE!  How is it possible that that really needed to be said?
  • Tuesday was a big day for fake news news.  Let’s start with ABC News’s announcement that its star fake reporter, Brian Ross, will no longer be allowed to cover stories involving President Trump when he comes back from his 30 day holiday in January.  ABC had also made sure to leak the text of a “memo” written by its News Division President James Goldston, ostensibly lambasting his staff over Ross’s false report from last Friday, which temporarily tanked the stock market.  This is all window dressing, folks – ABC used the same tactic after Ross filed a previous fake report a few years ago, falsely tying a mass shooter to the Tea Party.  Nothing is going to change at ABC – the news fakery will go on unabated.
  • Meanwhile, over at NBC, if you are laboring under the illusion that Matt Lauer’s intra-office sexcapades were some sort of big secret at the Peacock Network, well, think again.  Everyone at NBC – and apparently at every other fake news media outlet – knew everything about Lauer, and many of his colleagues were willing participants and abettors of his behavior.  That’s the only reasonable conclusion one can draw from the report linked here from Fox News, which details the proceedings of a 2008 obscene roasting of Lauer at which everyone assembled in the room laughed uproariously about the fake news host’s debauchery.  I would post out-takes from it, but the Campaign Update draws the line at repeating jokes about anal sex.  In any event, if you’re thinking that NBC’s convenient jettisoning of Lauer – which will save the network $27 million annually – means the culture there will change, you should probably disabuse yourself of that silly notion.  No word if Charlie Rose and Mark Halperin had seats at the head table, but it does seem likely.
  • Hey, remember when real journalists would always require at least two corroborating sources before running with a big news story?  Yeah, those times are dead. – The normally fairly reliable Bloomberg ran with a report mid-day on Tuesday that Special Counsel Robert Mueller had issued a subpoena to Deutsche Bank demanding it turn over client records related to its relationship with President Trump.  Within a few hours, Trump’s legal team had completely debunked the story, and one can only wonder  what the motive was for running with it in the first place, given that Bloomberg cited only a single, naturally unidentified source for the information.
  • But hey, faking the news is a highly-competitive business, and if Bloomberg’s gonna play with the big boys at the NYTimes and the WaPo, inconvenient things like real journalistic practices and editorial control have to be tossed out the proverbial window, right?  Right.

Just another day in fakety fakey fake news media America.

That is all.

ABC’s False Flynn Reporting Proves Our Society Needs Ways To Punish The Fake News Media

  • Nothing to see here, folks, move along.  Nothing to see here. – ABC’s Brian Ross proved once again yesterday that he really should be working at CNN.  Ross’s breathless morning report that Mike Flynn was ready to testify that then-candidate Donald Trump had instructed him to collude with the Russians to try to impact the election threw the entirety of the fake news media and social media into a tizzy, with liberals at every media outlet excitedly predicting that this was the “beginning of the end” for President Trump.
  • There was just one problem, though:  the story was, as Ross’s stories so often turn out to be, completely false.  But ABC let it hang out there all day long, negatively impacting the 401K accounts of millions of Americans by tanking the stock market, before finally forcing Ross to correct his fake story on the network’s nightly newscast.
  • The report was fake, but inaccurate. – On that broadcast, Ross told fake news reader David Muir that, well, gosh, actually, ummmm….welllll, it turns out that what his “source” had really told him was that, er, candidate Trump had simply instructed Flynn to start coming up with suggested approaches to a number of issues facing the U.S. and Russia, and then, after the election, President-elect Donald Trump told him to do his damn job and start making contacts with Russia, along with many other countries, which is what every other president-elect in modern U.S. history has done.
  • ABC characterized Ross’s followup report as a “clarification”, but that’s not what it was at all.  It was in fact an admission that the original report was simply false, and that Flynn’s plea deal is extremely unlikely to have any significant real impact on President Trump or his administration at all.  Put simply, there is no story here, and never really was.
  • Here’s what really happened yesterday:  Mike Flynn agreed to plead guilty to making false statement to the FBI, a process crime that has literally nothing to do with what Robert Mueller’s special counsel office is supposed to be investigating.  In exchange for that plea deal, Flynn agreed to give testimony in cases against other targets of this sham investigation, most likely Paul Manafort or Jared Kushner.
  • In his statement before the court, Flynn made it very clear that what he won’t be doing is offering any testimony that might be characterized as an admission that he or anyone else in the Trump operation engaged in collusion with anyone from Russia to influence the election.  In other words, there is absolutely nothing new here at all.  Not one damn thing took place yesterday that we did not already know was going to happen, and yet our entire society was disrupted for half a day because ABC let Brian Ross, a reporter already well-known for filing fake reports, file a completely fake report.
  • We as a country have a desperate need to find ways to penalize these giant fake media operations when they engage in such heinous false reporting as ABC did yesterday.  Episodes like this have a major disruption on our entire society, costing our economy and our citizens billions of dollars in the process.
  • Worse than that, the fake media monolith is literally brainwashing a vast segment of our society that has no ability to filter the fakeness or think rationally.  These people live in a fantasy world in which the Russians, not Donald Trump, defeated Hillary Clinton, where it’s more important to be politically correct than it is to protect the lives of U.S. citizens, where socialism – which has failed all over the world for a century and resulted in the deaths of hundreds of millions of people – is the peachy idea for America’s future.
  • The fake media is destroying this country, dividing the population irreparably with a constant stream of false reports like Ross’s, driving our nation inexorably towards a second civil war, all in support of their Democrat Party benefactors.  If we can’t find a way to penalize their intentional brainwashing of the public within the bounds of the First Amendment, then the First Amendment will end up destroying the country.

Just another day in fake news media America.

That is all.
