It Was a Big Fake News Weekend for America’s Fake News Media

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Tired of all this Winning yet? – Three new polls were released this past week showing that, despite the ongoing anti-Republican onslaught by the fake news media, the generic congressional preference measure leading into the mid-term elections continues to narrow.  On Sunday, Fox News released its new Opinion Dynamics poll, which shows the measure narrowing from a 15 percent Democrat advantage in November to just 5 percent today.  Marist also released its latest survey, which also pegs the Democrat edge at 5 percent.  A couple of days earlier, Reuters/Ipsos said its newest data shows the Democrat lead down to just 3 percent.

Make no mistake about it:  The Democrats do currently have a real advantage in voter enthusiasm, and we see evidence of that every day.  That edge is likely higher today than it was a week ago in the wake of the GOP congress’s passage of that horrific Omnibus bill on Friday.  But more than 6 months remain until Election Day, so President Donald Trump and the GOP have plenty of time to create some voter enthusiasm on their side as well.

President Trump has repeatedly proven himself to be capable of doing that.  The rest of the GOP?  Not so much.  Still, if we are still seeing congressional preference polls with such narrow margins come November, Democrats will find themselves disappointed yet again when the vote counts start coming in.

Yeah, so, who’s counting? – Speaking of Democrat voter drive opportunities, the “March for our Lives” rallies took place on Saturday, and the fake news media did all it could to glorify all who took part in them, and vilify all who did not.  Because, after all, that’s what today’s fake journalists get paid to do.

Immediately after the rally in Washington, D.C. had concluded, fake news media outlets breathlessly reported the attendance to have been as high as 800,000, which, if accurate, would have made it the largest such rally in D.C. history.  Organizers of the event had been a little more conservative in their estimates of the crowd size, pegging it more in the range of 500,000 to 600,000, which would still be a record for those who are keeping score at home.

Unfortunately for everyone, an independent, non-political firm out of Virginia begs to differ with those estimates.  Digital Design & Imaging Service, which uses flyover imaging of such crowds as the basis for forming its calculations, told CBS News that the turnout for the event was more in the range of 200,000 at its early-afternoon peak.

That’s still a big bunch of people, and wasn’t it just great seeing all those teenagers exercising their constitutionally-guaranteed freedom to protest against…um….well, ok, they were protesting against their constitutionally-guaranteed freedoms.

Meanwhile, Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel, whose gross incompetence and shameful grasping for money led directly to the tragic school killings that germinated Saturday’s protest marches, still has a job.  As always seems to be the case when abject failures by leftwing government officials lead to tragedy, no one who was really responsible is being held accountable.  The fact that Israel still has his job more than a month after the atrocity that his negligence caused is an insult to every American.

Facebook is losing favor with the public, according to opinion polls in the U.S. and Germany published over the weekend.  The only question I have is, why?

Of all the fake scandals made up by our fake news media hacks at CNN and elsewhere, this ongoing attack on Facebook may well be the fakest of them all.  There is literally nothing new in what Facebook is being accused of having done in its unethical sharing of user data with the Cambridge Analytica firm.  Nothing.  Not one damn thing.

Facebook has been unethically sharing its user data with all manner of firms and political campaigns pretty much since its inception.  Numerous former Obama campaign officials have now publicly stated that they had exactly the same access to your Facebook data during the 2008 and 2012 campaigns.  The fake media knew about this, even reported on it, and there was no scandal about it.

The only difference today is that Cambridge Analytica temporarily did work for the Trump Campaign, an unforgivable act of evil in the collective hive mind of the fake journalist fake profession.  Thus, Facebook, whose own evil minions worked as hard as they could possibly work to tilt the 2016 election in favor of Hillary Rotten Clinton, has suddenly become the fake media’s favorite whipping boy.

The truth about this fake scandal is that, had Cambridge Analytica done work for the Clinton Campaign, none of you would have ever heard of them.  There is no scandal here, there is only fake news at its very worst.  Far be it from me to want to defend the sleazebags who run the Facebook scam, but this episode really has taken the practice of fake news to a whole new level of fakery.

Just another day in fake news America.

Trump Dropped Some Twitter Bombs Sunday Morning

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

While so many Trump supporters have spent the last couple of days tossing tantrums about the President’s decision to sign the horrible Omnibus spending bill, some good things have been happening without getting much notice from the fake news media.

Tired of all this Winning yet? – Just a few days after the mass school shooting in Parkland, Florida, I wrote a piece that laid much of the blame at the feet of an insane Obama-era policy that rewarded school administrators and law enforcement officials for refusing to enforce the law against students who engage in criminal activity.  In the ensuing weeks since, more and more people in the news media have begun to report on the scam.  Better late than never.

This growing attention level has now led to a positive outcome:  The Trump Administration announced on Friday that it will eliminate the Obama policy.  Just one more element of the insane, un-American Obama legacy falls by the wayside.

The fake news media really hasn’t paid much attention to this reality yet – it’s been too busy trying to whip the public into a gun-grabbing frenzy and reporting on a porn startlet – but with his staff moves over the last month, President Donald Trump has basically purged his team of senior advisors of globalists.

  • Senior Economic Advisor Gary Cohn – gone.  Replaced with the Reaganite Larry Kudlow.
  • Secretary of State Rex Tillerson – gone.  Replaced – if he can be confirmed – by CIA Director Mike Pompeo.
  • National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster – gone.  Replaced by John Bolton.

Assuming Pompeo is ultimately confirmed, the Trump Cabinet and team of senior advisors will basically be devoid of the open borders/new world order internationalist influence.  While it is true that Bolton is an interventionist who favors aggressive U.S. military involvement in civil wars all around the world, he is very much on board with the Trump plan to dramatically increase border security.

Bolton also promises to “clean house” once ensconced in the job, eliminating dozens of Obama holdovers and other internationalists who are not loyal to President Trump, according to a report at Foreign Policy on Saturday.  Taking this action will almost certainly eliminate many, if not most of the leaks coming from the White House, some of which have been criminal in nature.

Bottom line, 14 months into his first term, Trump is finally putting together the team of leaders he should have had in the first place.  Again, better late than never.

Early this morning, President Trump issued the following two tweets:

These tweets are potentially very important, particularly the last sentence in the first one:  “Build wall through M!”, the “M” standing for “Military.”

The federal budgeting process is very complex and arcane, and one thing to remember in this current situation is that this “Omnibus” spending bill is just that:  A spending bill, not a formal budget.  It is a compilation of suggested spending levels for each executive branch department and the military, along with an array of restrictions that dictate how some, but not all of that money can be spent.

It’s important to also remember in this context that, on December 21, the President took the step of declaring a national human rights emergency related to child-trafficking, a declaration that would allow Mr. Trump broad discretion in taking action to crack down on those who participate in such human rights abuses.  It’s key to note that much such child trafficking involves moving kidnapped children in and out of the United States of America.

A second point to note is that, on Friday, the President notified congress that, in signing the Omnibus, he is accepting the funds under the provisions of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985.  This law also gives the President broad discretion in making decisions to refuse to spend funds that have been authorized by congress, as well as allowing him to reallocate spending priorities within the budgets of individual executive branch departments.

Finally, lets also note that, last October, the President declared a national emergency related to opioid abuse.

Now, read the text of that first tweet again, in the context of what is laid out above.  “Building a great border wall, with drugs (poison) and enemy combatants pouring into our Country, is all about National Defense.”  Combine that with “”Build wall through M!” and, it’s not unreasonable to think that Mr. Trump is at least considering the possibility of reallocating some portion of the beefed-up military budget to pay for building the wall along the southern border.

Doing that would of course create a media firestorm, but hell, what else is new?  And such a decision would also inevitably lead to a raft of lawsuits filed by leftwing activist groups before carefully-selected Obama-appointed federal judges, and possibly even a lawsuit from congress challenging the action.  But at the end of the day, such cases would have to go before the Supreme Court, where the President would most likely prevail, given the constitutional separation of powers.

As I’ve repeatedly pointed out, contrary to what the fake news media wants you to think, President Trump doesn’t just belch stuff out onto his twitter feed at random.  His tweets almost always have a purpose.  Often that purpose is to elicit a specific reaction from the fake news media.  Sometimes the purpose is to send up a trial balloon to gauge how the public would respond if he took a specific action.

I think Mr. Trump was doing both with those two tweets:  elicit a specific response from the media, and then gauge the public reaction to the media firestorm before deciding whether to move ahead.

Just another day in there really is good news out there if you look for it America.

That is all.

Congress De-funds a Ghost as Trump Eliminates Another Obama-era Scam

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Tired of all this Winning yet?  Oh, wait…:  Great news, everyone!  The 2234-page atrocity that congress refers to as an omnibus “budget” contains a secret provision nobody read that would defund ACORN!  You remember ACORN, don’t you?  That Obama-supported leftist organization that cobbled together hundreds of thousand of fraudulent votes to help Obama fake-win the 2008 presidential election?  Yeah, that ACORN.

Well, ACORN won’t be getting no federal money anymore, thanks to your intrepid establishment congressional Republicans, who work every day to protect by-God America.  One problem, though:  ACORN hasn’t actually existed since 2009.  D’oh!

Your congressional Republicans:  Only a decade late to the fight.

If you have any shopping to do, today’s a great day to go the mall. – Why?  Because the leftist-organized “March for our Lives” rallies will be taking place all over the country.  So, many of those teenagers who spend their days making a nuisance of themselves at your local shopping center will be busy pretending to know something about guns and gun control at a demonstration somewhere else.  So, go shopping, America – the coast will never be more clear.

You can’t fight AR-15s with pistols! The pistol’s bullets are just too slow!  But kids throwing rocks, on the other hand… – Remember the “pistol bullets are just too slow” line of argument against President Trump’s proposal to protect school children by allowing trained teachers and administrators to carry concealed weapons?  Wasn’t that a special one?  Yeah….good times.

Well, no worries, school administrators in Schuylkill County, PA have the conundrum of protecting their kids all figured out, you betcha.  Just ask Superintendent Dr. David Helsel, who bragged to state lawmakers in Harrisburg on Friday that “Every classroom has been equipped with a five-gallon bucket of river stone. If an armed intruder attempts to gain entrance into any of our classrooms, they will face a classroom full students armed with rocks and they will be stoned.”  Yeah, that’ll work.

I swear I don’t make this stuff up.

She’s so fake, she embarrasses all the other fake journalists. – Of all the legion of fake journalists working in the nation’s capital today, the Washington Post’s dimwitted Jennfer Rubin is probably the fakest of them all.  Upon learning of John Bolton’s appointment as the next National Security Advisor, Rubin issued the following tweet:

But just a year ago, Rubin penned a piece advocating for the appointment of Bolton to become Deputy Secretary of State:  “There are few experienced hands who know how the State Department works today and have a granular understanding as to how it should function. If not Bolton himself, someone very much like him would be ideal in the No. 2 spot at State.”  But it gets even better.

As Warren Henry at the Federalist points out, the reason why Rubin wanted Bolton as the #2 guy at State was so that he would become a logical choice to become …wait for it…wait for it…National Security Advisor!  I kid you not:  “Unless Trump wants to go through the rigmarole of hiring a new face, the inevitable [Michael T.] Flynn replacement is very likely to come from within the administration — the No. 2 person at the state or defense departments or some other player with whom Trump has developed a relationship of trust.”

Thus, it becomes crystal clear that Rubin’s real problem with Bolton is simply that he was appointed by Donald Trump, and at the WaPo, agreeing with the sitting, duly-elected POTUS is simply not tolerated.

Trump continues to disassemble the un-American Obama legacy, brick by disgraceful brick. – The fake news media is reporting that President Trump “banned transgenders from serving in the military” Friday evening.  That’s actually not true.  What he did was implement a new policy – based on the recommendation from Defense Secretary James Mattis – that will ban the ongoing scam in which persons with gender dysphoria have joined the military in order to take advantage of a policy implemented by Barack Hussein Obama that forces the taxpayers to pay for their gender reassignment surgery.

Towards that end, the new policy states that “transgender persons with a history or diagnosis of gender dysphoria — individuals who the policies state may require substantial medical treatment, including medications and surgery — are disqualified from military service except under certain limited circumstances.”  Individuals who have been “stable for 36 consecutive months in their biological sex prior to accession,” and those who “do not require a change of gender” will be exempt from the new policy and allowed to serve.

In other words, the scam – which Obama actively encouraged – of enlisting in one of the armed services for a three-year hitch and spending most of that time undergoing gender-transition surgeries at taxpayer expense es no mas.  On the other hand, trans-gender individuals who truly wish to serve their country honorably remain welcome in the U.S. armed services, as they should be.

For all you enraged SJWs out there, this what is known as good public policy.

Just another day in erasing the disappearing Obama legacy America.

That is all.

Face it: Establishment Republicans Hate Governing

The Evening Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

So, here’s our reality as of today, with the passage and presidential signing of the disgrace of a fake budget bill:  The GOP “establishment” is actively working to surrender its House majority, so that it can go back to being comfortable again.

Republican squishes like Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell and the rest of the congressional GOP leadership are only “pretend” conservatives.  They are in their natural habitat when they are able to throw darts at governing Democrats while in Washington while never having to take any real responsibility for actually getting anything done.  They are incredibly brave and confrontational when in that mode, as they were for the 6 years in which they controlled one or both houses of congress while Barack Hussein Obama was President.

In those years, those brave GOP squishes in the house were able to vote 30-odd times to repeal the Obamacare monstrosity, and even the GOP senate managed it a few times.  Once they had a Republican in the White House, though, repealing Obamacare suddenly became a bridge too far, as McConnell could always find a few Republicans like McCain or Collins or Murkowski to kill it in the Senate.

Establishment Rs also love to pretend to be fiscal conservatives, just so long as they’re never required to actually get anything real done to prove it.  When they’re in the minority, they’re the first to run to the nearest microphone to squeal about Democrats leading the nation to financial ruin with their profligate spending.  But squealing is all it ever amounts to  – let them be confronted with a government shutdown as their only avenue for stopping the waste, and they become a pack of surrender monkeys.

Put them in the majority, and it’s even worse.  Now, their only excuse is the senate’s arcane filibuster rule, and its requirement of 60 votes to be overcome.  When that rule is all that stands between them and a government shutdown over funding Democrat spending priorities, again it becomes surrender monkey time.

Governing is simply not a Republican core competency.  Never has been, never will be.  So when they control all the levers of power, you end up with legislative atrocities like the bill the President signed into law today, because they are eager to give the Ds anything they want in order to avoid being blamed for shutting down 14 percent of the government by that nasty ol’ news media.

The bill enacted today represents complete capitulation by the GOP congress.  As what is likely to become the last major legislative action prior to the November midterms, its passage is going to have a terrible dampening effect on GOP voter enthusiasm, likely dooming the Republican Party to the loss of its majority in the house.

The truth is – and it may only be on a sub-conscious level – that is really the outcome that establishment Republicans prefer.  Lose the majority in the house, and the squish Rs can just go back to tossing darts at the Democrats.  So what if it means that the Democrats will get their way and impeach President Trump?  Most establishment Rs never supported the guy in the first place, and are not at all comfortable having to carry his water in the halls of congress.

Besides, they’ll still have the majority in the Senate (probably, anyway), so McConnell can surely muster up enough votes to prevent the President’s removal over there.  And they’ll all get to toss darts at the Democrats for being so irresponsible while it’s all going on, which is just an added bonus.

President Trump should have vetoed the bill, for his and congressional Republicans’ own good.  Shutting down the government with a veto would have been consistent with Trump’s persona, and you could tell at his press conference that he knew this.  Plus, a veto would have forced Ryan and McConnell to actually govern a little bit, against their own will.  They’d have simply had no choice.

But Trump promised during the campaign to rebuild the nation’s military, which had been neglected by his predecessor, and signing this bill ensured that he could keep that promise, even if it likely means he will never get the funding he needs for his also-promised border wall.  In the end, he chose to go with the pleas from Mad Dog Mattis, grab the military funding while he could, and hope to find some leverage point on immigration somewhere down the road.  McConnell and Ryan heaved huge sighs of relief, knowing they wouldn’t have to be bothered with doing any governing in any real way until at least 2019, and possibly never again if the Rs do lose the house.

At the end of the day, we all have to just face it:  Tossing darts at Democrats is really all that establishment Republicans go to Washington to do, because that’s fun, and it’s easy, too.  Governing, now that’s hard, and not fun at all.

That is all.

Will John Bolton Fix the Leaky Valve at the NSC?

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Man, another slow news day – having a hard time finding anything to write about.  Lessee here…

Down goes McMaster!  Down goes McMaster!  Down goes McMaster! – General H.R. McMaster, who has run the leaky valve we call the National Security Council (NSC) for the past 13 months, was finally, at long last given his walking papers on Thursday.  The move comes after the latest in a long series of major, embarrassing leaks that most likely came from either the General or his staff earlier this week.

That leak came when the substance of the President’s call with Vladimir Putin – including Trump’s congratulation on his fake election win, a matter of simple courtesy that was also extended by Barack Obama in 2012 – was leaked to the press, along with briefing notes compiled by the NSC advising Mr. Trump not to offer such congratulations.  The leak, as so many emanating from the NSC before it had been, was designed to embarrass President Trump, and it appears the POTUS had finally had enough.

The White House put out a statement late Wednesday that characterized this leak as “likely illegal” and promised to fire the person or persons responsible for it.  About 17 hours later, H.R. McMaster was starting the process of hunting for another job.  Hey, don’t feel sorry for him – he will no doubt have his pick of gigs at CNN, MSNBC, the Washington Post and the New York Times, fake media outlets that love to reward the hands that feed them.

In a tweet issued to announce the firing, President Trump thanked the 3-star General and said he would “always remain my friend.”  So, obviously, the President wants to create as little controversy as possible around the McMaster ouster.  It will be interesting to see if the White House is ever able to identify anyone else responsible for the leak of the Putin conversation, and if bringing in a new National Security Advisor has the effect of tamping down the leaks going forward.  Because with a “security council” like this, well, who needs it?

To replace McMaster, Trump named Bush-era UN Ambassador and noted neo-con John Bolton, so he’s replacing a liberal globalist Susan Rice fan with a very conservative war hawk who tends to favor U.S. intervention all over the world.  Appearing on Fox News shortly after his hiring had been announced, Bolton joked that, to get the job, “I promised not to start any wars.”  I’m not really sure that’s funny.

Whatever, Bolton will be a huge upgrade if he just doesn’t engage in the habit of leaking classified information to the nearest fake reporter.

Hey, guess which students are very predictably on the cover of the new issue of Time Magazine? – If you said “Parkland students,” you are partially right.  The fully correct answer, of course, is “a handful of Parkland students who are anti-2nd amendment and being manipulated by a bunch of leftwing anti-gun groups,” you are fully correct.

Because, of course, only the brainwashed children who want to take your rights away fit the anti-gun narrative the fake news media and Democrat Party have pushed for the last 50 years.  So tiresome.

Hey, remember those DACA “kids” (average age: 26)? Remember how I told you way back in December that the Democrat Party would never, never, never, ever agree to any sort of deal on their situation because they want to keep that issue alive through election day in November?  Yeah, we had another example of the truth of that overnight.

In the wee hours of the morning, the U.S. Senate – the most useless deliberative body on earth – approved yet another continuing resolution to fund the government, this time through the end of the fiscal year on September 30.  It is an utter, complete, total disgrace of a bill, a budget-busting monstrosity that not only continues funding for every leftwing priority but increases the money for most of them, a total capitulation by the Republicans in which pretty much the only thing that isn’t funded in any real way is increased border security and a border wall.  Thank you, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell.

Wait.  The other thing this “compromise” (read: Republican capitulation) bill doesn’t have in it is any sort of “fix” for those poor, poor “Dreamers”.  Golly, nobody could have seen that coming.

The two happiest people in the nation’s capital this morning are San Fran Nan and Chuck Schumer, who are no doubt hung over from all those toasts they were drinking during the night to Ryan, McConnell and the rest of the shameful establishment wing of the GOP.

If you are searching for the reason why Republicans hate Republicans, this bill is pretty much your Holy Grail.

Just another day in establishment Republicans selling out America.

That is all.

The Timing on That ABC Piece About McCabe Investigating Sessions Sure Was Interesting

The Evening Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

So, let’s construct a little timeline…

February 28 – President Trump issues a seemingly nasty tweet that is critical of both Attorney General Jeff Sessions and DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz:

Early March – the fake news media, including ABC, leaps to the defense of Sessions and Horowitz, a reaction to Trump’s tweet that was as predictable as the sun rising in the East.

March 13 – The DOJ Office of Professional Responsibility recommends that Sessions fire former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.  That recommendation is based on a finding by IG Horowitz, stemming from his 14-month investigation into FBI/DOJ wrongdoing.

March 16 – Sessions fires McCabe late on a Friday evening, just two days before McCabe’s pension was set to kick in, ensuring that the firing would be one of the main topics of conversation on all the Sunday morning fake news programs.

March 17-18 – The fake news media, in obvious coordination with the Democrat Party, hilariously attempts to blame McCabe’s firing initially on President Trump.  Trump, of course, literally had nothing to do with the firing at all, and it quickly becomes apparent the public isn’t buying it.

March 18-19 – The fake news media also slowly begins to wake up to the fact that the firing of McCabe was executed by Sessions and Horowitz, two men they had all spent the first half of March saying very nice things about.  This makes it tough for them to shift their tactic from blaming Trump for McCabe’s firing to blaming Sessions.  But they have to blame someone in the Trump administration for some sort of wrongdoing in the McCabe firing, because that’s what the narrative dictates.  What to do?

March 21 – ABC tries to solve the conundrum with its story alleging that McCabe, almost a year ago, opened a criminal investigation targeting his own boss, Sessions.  By filing this story just a few days after McCabe’s firing, ABC obviously hopes to convey the blatantly false impression that Sessions actually fired McCabe because he was angry at having been investigated by a subordinate.

Sadly, this is how the fake media in our country works.  Nevermind that McCabe was smack in the middle of the abuse of the FISA process, the faking of the investigation into the Clinton email scandal, is alleged to have encouraged his subordinate, Peter Strzok, to falsify his notes from his interview with Mike Flynn in order to entrap Flynn into a trumped-up guilty plea for lying to the FBI, and on and on and on.  The narrative dictates that Donald Trump is the bad guy, and anyone who is on the bad side of Donald Trump is the good guy – it simply must be that way.

Which is why, when Trump issues a tweet critical of Sessions and Horowitz, the fake media rushes to their defense, and when Trump praises the firing of McCabe, the fake media rushes to call Sessions and Horowitz the real crooks.  Watching the fake media go back and forth on these guys is like watching a tennis match from the stands at center court.

But that’s what the anti-Trump narrative dictates, and the narrative must always prevail.  It’s important to remember here that literally no one is exempt from this simple rule.  Just wait to see what a villain Robert Mueller becomes in the fake news media’s eyes when he is finally forced to admit publicly that there was no collusion between the Trump Campaign and Russia.

That is all.

Good Guys With Guns Got the Job Done on Tuesday. Will the Media Give Them Due Credit?

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

Don’t expect CNN to spend any real time covering this one. – A good guy with a gun stopped a school shooting on Tuesday, and the fake news media barely noticed.  A “resource officer” at Great Mills High School in Southern Maryland responded within 60 seconds to reports of a shooter on campus and traded shots with the attacker in an act that likely prevented more killings from taking place.  The shooter ultimately committed suicide, and witnesses called the officer, Deputy Blaine Gaskill, a hero.

It is worth noting that, had the “resource officer” and other Broward County deputies who were quickly on the scene responded in the same way to last month’s mass killings at Parkland High School, it is very likely some of the 17 victims of that shooting would be alive today.  Parkland was a tragedy that was created by an utter, complete failure by government and law enforcement at every level, from the FBI to the cowardly Broward County Sheriff’s department, from the Department of Justice to local school officials.  Everyone failed those kids and teachers who lost their lives to a well-known threat who should have been properly dealt with years before.

The Great Mills incident clearly shows what one law enforcement officer, properly trained and armed, can do to prevent needless loss of life.  It is such a clear and unambiguous lesson that we should expect our fake news media to drop it like a hot potato today, after having given the incident cursory coverage on Tuesday.  Because this is not part of their preferred narrative.

Of course, the fake news outlets have their ready-made excuse for scurrying away from the Great Mills story as fast as their cockroach legs can take them, as the bomber who has been terrorizing the Austin, Texas area was brought down overnight.  The problem they’re going to have – though they’ll find 100 ways around talking about it – is that this is yet another example of good guys with guns getting the job done.

Where the Parkland killings represent the total breakdown of the nation’s law enforcement system, the Austin bomber’s identification and final resolution – he killed himself by exploding a bomb in his car when local police and FBI officers had him pinned down – represent an example of law enforcement getting its job done at all levels.  Even the moribund, beleaguered FBI proved that it still can provide a real public service, at least in isolated incidents, so maybe FBI Director Christopher Wray is starting to get his job of rebuilding the agency and its reputation done.

Throughout all the revelations of massive wrongdoing within the FBI’s senior levels in its Washington, DC headquarters over the last 2 years, defenders of the agency have always been quick to point to “the great men and women” who make up the agency’s rank and file, and continued to characterize the FBI as “the world’s premier law enforcement agency.”  But the truth is that it has been painfully difficult during that time to point to any clear examples of why the public should regard the agency with such high esteem.

Instead, during that same period of time, we have been presented with example after example of massive failures by FBI officials to do their damn jobs in places like Orlando and San Bernardino and New York City and Las Vegas (where we still have been given no believable explanation of why more than 50 people lost their lives) and Parkland.

But Austin appears, at least at the moment, to be different.  It appears to be a case in which the FBI was called in by local law enforcement for help in trying to identify and capture a serial bomber who was proving to be painfully difficult to catch.  It appears to be a case in which the profiling, technology and other methods practiced by the FBI made the difference leading to the ultimate positive resolution of a very vexing matter.  And the suspect, at the time of this writing identified only as a “24 year-old white male,” does not appear to be someone who had been on the FBI’s radar for years prior to his murder spree, as was the case in Orlando, San Bernadino and Parkland.

We’ll find out more as the day goes on, but regardless, the lesson from these two incidents is clear:  good guys (and gals) with guns, when properly trained and properly focused, remain the people’s best line of defense against the nutjobs in our society.

Just don’t expect CNN to be holding any prime time townhalls in which students from Great Mills High or relieved citizens of Austin, Texas or representatives of the NRA get to deliver that message.  Because the preferred narrative must always prevail.

Just another day in good guys with guns protecting America.

That is all.

Media Outraged By Big Tech Data Scam – But Only Because One Finally Benefitted a Republican

Today’s Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

But they’d all happily vote for Bill Clinton again tomorrow. – A new poll indicates that 53% of Democrats now think it’s wrong to vote for a candidate who has done immoral things in his private life.  *sigh*

This will happen as soon as all those Flying J’s truck stops start selling decaf halfcaf skinny mocha soy lattes with two honeys and a twist of lemon. – NBCnews.com has a piece this morning titled “Why Millenials Should Start Considering Truck Driving.”  Ok, it’s actually good advice, but, well, it’s not exactly the vision Obama filled these young peoples’ heads with for eight long years, is it?  But it turns out our country is now overwhelmed with unemployable social workers, dog groomers, computer coders and Russian feminist literature studies majors, and we’re a little short on people who want to keep our economy moving by driving long-haul trucks for a living.  Go figure.  No one could have possibly seen that coming.

The fake news media finally catches onto the Big Tech data scam – Of course, this only happened when the “improper” use of 50 million Facebook users’ information ended up benefiting a Republican, i.e., the Trump Campaign in 2016.  No one in the fake media gave a rat’s behind when Google set up a satellite office in the Obama White House and Facebook and Twitter eagerly shared all the data there was to share with the Obama campaign during the 2012 election cycle.  But now that some firm that Trump didn’t even use during the general election had access to Facebook’s data that might have benefited the media’s enemy, well, that’s crossing the fake news media’s fake red line.  Because that’s what the fake news media does.

Here’s our reality when dealing with Facebook, Twitter, Google and the other Big Tech websites:  All they really are is data accumulators who are in business to sell their data.  If you provide data to, say, Facebook, Facebook is ultimately going to sell that data to make a profit.  Despite their periodic protests to the contrary, there have been so many examples of Facebook and Twitter doing this that you have to be a hopeless simpleton to actually believe anything you do on any of these platforms will somehow remain private and confidential.

The fake media is treating this latest in a long line of examples as some sort of major event, but the truth is that, had the firm in question here, Cambridge Analytica, been working on behalf of the Clinton Campaign, this would not be a story at all – you’d have never heard of these people.  Facebook and Twitter have been shadow-banning conservative news outlets and users for years with no objection from anyone at CNN or the NYTimes.  Google has almost since its’ first day of existence been biasing its search results in favor of Democrats, and no one at Yahoo News or the Washington Post has uttered a peep about it.

The hilarious part of all of this fake media attention is that it is giving momentum to the efforts in Washington to find some way to heavily regulate these big tech platforms in the future.  While any effort by the federal government to regulate these big tech companies would no doubt end up being a slow-rolling train wreck – because that’s the core competency of federal government regulators – it would be a certain form of justice to see the Facebooks and Googles of the world end up being hoisted up on their own petards.

Hey, at least we got some great Twitter memes out of it (see below) – The Washington Free Beacon reports that U.S. taxpayers are having to foot the bill to the tune of $22 grand for the Pantsuit Princess’s book tour trip to India.  That total amount is the combined cost of Secret Service protection for the Fainting Felon, along with administrative costs incurred by the State Department.  But hey,  why wouldn’t the millions of deplorables who the Coughing Crook insulted during the trip be glad to pay for a trip in which she broke her wrist climbing into a million dollar bathtub and humiliated herself by not being able to even come down a flight of stairs without major assistance?  Good times…good times…

Just another day in big tech data scamming America.

That is all.

Here’s Why Trump is Suddenly Tweeting About Mueller by Name

The Evening Campaign Update

(Because The Campaign Never Ends)

So, the fake news media spent most of the past two days focusing on the fact that President Donald Trump, for the first time, issued a series of tweets criticizing Special Counsel Robert Mueller by name over the weekend.  The fake media’s take on this is that the President is nuts, that he just gets upset and for no reason at all blurts stuff like this out on his Twitter feed while drinking Diet Cokes and eating Big Mac’s at 2:00 in the morning.

To understand why that assessment – the conventional wisdom in Washington, DC – is completely, totally, 100% wrong, let’s go back to February 28, and the piece I posted that day explaining why the President had called out both Attorney General Jeff Sessions and DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz in a tweet earlier that same day.

In that piece, I discussed the fact that Mr. Trump really doesn’t just toss inflammatory stuff out onto Twitter for no reason, that there is a long history of there being a method to the seeming (in the media’s eyes) madness.  And I pointed out the likelihood that that particular seeming attack on Sessions and Horowitz’s integrity was in fact designed to elicit the exact response that he ended up getting from the fake news media, which was day after day of defense of both men’s integrity.

Why?  My assumption was that it was because Trump was expecting something big from both men in the coming days.  Specifically, I posited that we were probably going to see the issuance of the IG’s report from his 14 month-long investigation of wrongdoing within the FBI and DOJ during the first week or two of March.  That obviously didn’t happen, but think about what has happened since February 28:

  • First, the Attorney General went to the outlaw state of California and announced that his Justice Department would be withholding funds from and filing suit against the state challenging its clearly unconstitutional “sanctuary state” law;
  • Next, the DOJ Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) sends Sessions a report recommending the termination of former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, a recommendation based on – guess what? – a finding from IG Michael Horowitz;
  • Finally, Sessions makes the decision to fire McCabe, as he should have done.

The media’s instinctive reaction was to go on full attack against Sessions, but then, at some point on Sunday, reality began to set in that they  were going after the same guy they were all defending just two weeks ago, and the feeding frenzy began to fall away.

Now, the President goes after Mueller on Saturday, and all the Democrats with press passes leap to defend the Special Counsel in glowing terms normally reserved for anyone with the last name of Obama.  And by the way, that all takes place right after they also all leapt to the defense of McCabe as being the second coming of Mother Teresa, which will come back to haunt them should McCabe keep his word and start tossing other media favorites – like James Comey – under the bus.

So what do you all think is probably about to happen next?

Well, what is NOT going to happen is Trump firing Mueller.  All the fake reporters would love that, but that has never been in the President’s plans.

What IS likely going to happen is some move by Mueller that is broadly positive for the President.  No idea what that might be, but here are some possibilities:

  • Announcement of indictments of Tony Podesta and others involved in his now-defunct lobbying firm;
  • Announcement of the vacation of the guilty plea by General Mike Flynn;
  • Announcement that the “setting aside” of Mueller’s investigation into potential obstruction of justice made public a few days ago is actually a permanent dropping of that line of inquiry;
  • Announcement that Mueller no longer feels the need to conduct an interview with the President.

Could be one of those things, could be something entirely different.  In any event, this feels like President Trump preparing the playing field for some significant event involving Mueller.  And when it feels that way, that’s what generally happens.

Buckle up.

That is all.
