Monday News Roundup: NYC Passes Chicago in Murders and the Portland Police Disappear Again

The Big Apple becomes the Big Blood Spot. – Bill de Blasio can now proudly say he has made New York City #1, as it has now surpassed Lori Lightfoot’s Chicago as the shooting and killing capital of the United States.

Over this past weekend, de Blasio’s dying metropolis saw at least 76 people wounded and 8 killed by gunshots. By comparison, Chicago, which as held the national murder and shooting lead for decades now, experienced a quiet weekend in which only 59 of its citizens were wounded and 5 ended up dead by gunfire.

De Blasio has always obviously prided himself on being the very worst at everything he does. Now he has another major achievement to brag about. Take that, Lightfoot.

From America’s worst mayor to America’s best governor… – South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is not just a rising star in the Republican Party, she is the rising GOP star. On Friday, she declined additional federal unemployment money for one simple reason: Thanks to her leadership, her state doesn’t need the cash.

See, among all of America’s governors in either party, Kristi Noem is the only one who did not choose to grossly abuse her authority as an elected official by shutting down vast swaths of her state’s economy or shutting people in their homes for weeks at a time.

From a piece at Breitbart:

In a statement, Noem praised President Donald Trump’s leadership during recovery and said her administration was “very grateful for the additional flexibility that this effort would have provided, but South Dakota is in the fortunate position of not needing to accept it.”

The governor continued:

South Dakota’s economy, having never been shut down, has recovered nearly 80% of our job losses. South Dakota is the only state in the nation that didn’t have extended benefits kick in because our insured unemployment rate has been the lowest in the nation. We have the third best housing construction market in the country. And many, many businesses are looking to relocate to South Dakota because of the decisions we made during the pandemic. South Dakota is open for business — that applies to our business owners and their employees.

[End]

Are you paying attention, Greg Abbott? How about you, Ron DeSantis? You guys have presidential aspirations, but you’re going to have to find a way to get past Gov. Noem for the GOP nomination in 2024.

The Trump boat rallies continue to grow. – It doesn’t get any attention from the corrupt national news media, but every weekend sees a growing number of Trump boat parades taking place in lakes, bays and rivers across the nation. These parades have in fact become a de facto replacement for the massive rallies President Trump staged on almost a weekly basis prior to the COVID-19 hysteria.

A Trump boat parade held in Clearwater, Florida this past weekend set a new Guiness world record by having more than 2,000 boats participating in it. The Clearwater event shattered the previous record of 1,160 boats set in Malaysia.

Check it out:

How long can it be before someone on CNN declares these rallies to be a sign of “white supremacy” since almost all of the boats are white? Hell, that’s probably already happened, come to think of it.

But your fake news media wants you to believe that the incumbent President who attracts this kind of massive loyalty and support each and every weekend is far behind a declining, mentally-addled, corrupt lifelong swamp creature who is only allowed by his handlers to venture out of his basement once or twice a week.

You are being brainwashed to meekly accept the outcome of a stolen election. Don’t let them do this to you.

Meanwhile, in Portland, Oregon… – After appearing to stage a bit of a rally during Saturday night’s violent riots, the Portland Police Department appears to have been once again pulled back by communist Democrat Mayor Ted Wheeler. The 80th consecutive night of riots in this once-great city were violent and disgusting.

As always, the only reason we know the truth about this is thanks to the continuing efforts by real journalist Any Ngo:

Similar scenes were also taking place in communist-Democrat-run Seattle:

These people will never stop until they are stopped. It is beyond obvious that the communist Democrats running Portland and Seattle have no intention of stopping them.

That is all.

Today’s news moves at a faster pace than ever. Whatfinger is my go-to source for keeping up with all the latest events in real time.

Noem should get significant speaking time at the convention.

  2. D3F1ANT - August 17, 2020

How can the denizens of NYC and Portland allow their absurdly incompetent mayors to retain their posts? It’s astounding that these clowns haven’t been recalled or, failing that due to Democrat political maneuvering, ridden out (tarred and feathered) on rails. One can only conclude that the people are satisfied with the “leadership” they’re getting from these radical Leftist supporters of domestic terrorism.

    1. brian - August 17, 2020

They are either ok with it… or are abject cowards to not speak out against it. What else is there??

    2. Silas - August 17, 2020

Both cities are dens of socialism. Their education system has indoctinated the children of those once fair cities (and every other demoncrat held city/state) for well over 4 decades now. It’s no surprise then that they voted in socialists and continue to do so even in the face of such sociopathic and psychopathic behaviour.

Until they vote in sane, reasoning people who have the best interests of the city and citizens in their sights, the insanity, crime and chaos will continue. You’re watching the deathspiral of some of the major population centers of the nation. Only the citizens can stop it and I don’t think they’re capable of thinking their way put of a wet paper bag right now.

      1. phineas gage - August 17, 2020

You are correct–major American cities, at least the blue ones, are in a death spiral. This will significantly alter our sociocultural structure and dynamics in the coming decade. Picture 15-16 Detroits scattered about the nation.

        1. Gregg - August 17, 2020

I think you mean 15-16 MORE Detroits Phineas.

Boat parades, another Trumpian phenomenon, who would have thunk it. They played whackamole with his campaign rallies, and the boat parades appeared. Conservatism is in no way an endangered species. Here is a great piece from CTH

    Extremely infuriating read.

  5. Robosaurus Rex - August 17, 2020

Someone get the passenger of the guy who got beat up to speak at the Republican convention. Preview the passenger’s talk with all the above videos. Dear goodness, this has to stop and it should be spread far and wide.

    1. brian - August 17, 2020

If this doesn’t produce a law suit or class action against these demoncraps, then nothing will… Where are all the conservative lawyers willing to take this lawlessness on!?!?

      1. Silas - August 17, 2020

Precisely, where are they? Chances are they don’t live in Portland proper.

  6. Silas - August 17, 2020

I beleive that at some point, the police in Portland and Seattle are either going to rebel or just quit. God bless them, they took an oath and are standing by it, hobbled by feckless, pandering politicians. But sooner or later something must give, they are only human after all and subject to the same fears and concerns as all of us. They and their families are amongst those I pray for nightly.

  7. Stuartswede - August 17, 2020

I just now checked out Andy’s video, and it is infuriating. Cowardice bastard coming from behind someone seated in the street after having been assaulted and flying drop kicking in the face. What is more infuriating is zero coverage by the fake news. I only check out Bing for the photo of the day and usually check their crawler on the bottom of the page, and I have never seen one reference to the riots. Kayleigh M. should have a video at every daily press briefing.

What about a lead storage unit???

      1. brian - August 17, 2020

oopppsss I should have stated lead-storage-unit… There fixed it.. now one word… mostly.

        1. Stuartswede - August 17, 2020

          Lead and Cu seek-aquire-accept-and-permanent-diposable-storage unit!

    2. phineas gage - August 17, 2020

Love that quote from Iowahawk. Instapundit also always quotes one from Treacher that is good as well.

      1. phineas gage - August 17, 2020

“Modern journalism is all about deciding which facts the public shouldn’t know because they might reflect badly on Democrats.”

    3. Silas - August 17, 2020

They are all cowards. That’s why they run toether. They feel empowered when surrounded by their own. Not so much when you catch them in small numbers or by themsleves.

  8. LadyJane - August 17, 2020

Why is what happened to this man different than what happened to George Floyd? Oh, I just realized that this beating And kicking in the head was done in peace.

Wake up! It’s time for everyone who live in Portland to take take a stand. Defend yourselves. Take Portland back. Run out the politicians who refuse to defend you!

    1. phineas gage - August 17, 2020

      And what about Reginald Denny?

    2. adrian - August 17, 2020

Yep….Sick of watching these videos of these two bit antifa cowards jump on people when they have a mob to help them. The regular people that live in this hell hole have got to step up sooner, rather than later, and stand up to these thugs. I am starting to think there isn’t one person in Portland that has an ounce of guts. Someone has to step up! This is staring to get old watching this….come on people of Portland! I know there has to be some who will take the first step and stop relying on these commie mayors and governors,,,do it!

      1. phineas gage - August 17, 2020

Furthermore, the high-level Dems are watching all this quite carefully. With little pushback from citizens against either tyrannical shutdown policies or mob violence, they may be coming to the conclusion that Americans are soft, indoctrinated, and ready for the taking.

        1. Silas - August 17, 2020

May be in the big cities. They got another think coming when they stray outside of them.

          1. phineas gage - August 17, 2020

And yet where was the pushback in red areas to tyrannical governors like Whitmer or Brown?

For the most part, it hasn’t happened.

That is a big tell for a communist.

        2. Gregg - August 17, 2020

Well in the thirties, the Axis powers (the world’s bullies at the time) saw how the feckless League of Nations didn’t deal with Mussolini in Ethiopia, Japan in Manchuria, and Hitler unilaterally abrogating the the Versailles Treaty and bullying concessions from his neighbors and misjudged the west’s resolve.

America and the west were seen as decadent and weak and ripe for the picking 75-80 years ago. And until Trump came on the scene, and especially under BJ Clinton, his nominal wife – the SOS, Walking Eagle, ‘the One’, and his second SOS, Lurch, much of the Arab world, North Korea, China, and Russia thought we were weak and beatable as well.

I suspect and hope history is going to repeat itself here domestically as well, and at some point these punks are going (including agitating countries like Iran and China) to push too far and BOOM!, retribution will take place bigly.

It is just a shame too many of us were just “fat, dumb, and happy” and would rather passionately follow meaningless sports than the politics that actually affects our lives. Just like in the thirties, we let the bullies go way too far and get way too powerful before we are going to be forced to act.

Obviously, when we finally did respond to the Axis evil, it did not work out well for them, but it also cost over 400,000 US lives and the lives of millions of others to end their tyranny because western liberal (in the classic sense) democracies did nothing to stop Hitler and Japan when it could have been done much more cheaply.

Now that much of the passion and enjoyment of sports and other mind-numbing ‘entertainment’ has been taken from us, we, maybe, hopefully, will focus on what really is important.

It is just a shame that human nature is programmed to be lazy and ignore relatively little problems until they can no longer be ignored and we wind up paying the price.

    1. Stuartswede - August 17, 2020

Very Interesting, but what is the practical (negative for them I hope) impact of this? If the influence peddling has already occurred, you can’t force the genie back in the bottle right? Or is there some legal path to pursue? Thanks Silas

      1. Silas - August 17, 2020

Speculation: RICO, FARA, influence peddling by foreign organisations. Anybody who took the money may be at risk.

    2. phineas gage - August 17, 2020

I don’t know about the other justices, but Kavanaugh is going to be the nightmare of the Left for the next several decades. Payback is a b*tch.

  9. JB - August 17, 2020

For months, I’ve been saying the fake polls are all about stealing the election. It’s not because they want to discourage Trump voters from supporting him. His base is too strong. It’s all about control if we allow them to steal this election!

    1. Gregg - August 17, 2020

After four years if being insulted and denigrated by the media and their literal partners in crime and everyone else, no Trump voter should be “discouraged”, on the contrary, we should be more energized than ever.

There is no way Trump’s base will in any way be quelled. As Yamamoto said after Pearl Harbor, a sleeping has been awakened and filled with a terrible resolve.

There is no reason for us to not vote!!!

    2. brian - August 17, 2020

the fake polls are not so much to discourage Trump voters but rather to try and boast morale among the demZombies and get them out to vote. Trumps base is animated and growing as many disenfranchised demoncrap voters have little recourse. With Jo&Ho as your dream team the moderate demzombie has nothing to vote for, quite literally. They’ll have to keep supporting the chaos, sleazy sniffer joe and chameleon kamel . along with brain trust heavy weights like AOC. Or abandon the chaos altogether.

Its either vote demoncrap and their garbage, don’t vote at all or vote Trump. We know the zombies will vote demoncrap… Its the others that have the demoncrap leadership terrified.

  10. Gregg - August 17, 2020

Regarding Reginald Denny, and all these other victims: Why is anyone going anywhere near these well known hot spots? It makes no sense. Everyone should avoid these lose-lose situations/areas at all cost. I know I would; why aren’t they?

    1. brian - August 17, 2020

Why anyone would want to live in a city period, is beyond me. Small towns, rural living, much healthier and you get to actually know your nieghbours.

IMO, seal off the cities and allow families to leave. Then the communists can burn loot and destroy to their hearts content. They want food?? They gotta buy it like everyone else… oh wait… they don’t have jobs and burned the grocery store… oh well…

      1. adrian - August 17, 2020

I live in a rural area of California and these left wing idiots are moving up here in droves and bringing their BS politics with them….lived here forty + years and never seen anything like what is happening to the whole state.

        1. Silas - August 17, 2020

They’re like cancer. And like cancer it will require radical measures to cure it. If they don’t wake up soon, it will be much more radical than what they are seeing on the streets right now.

    2. Stuartswede - August 17, 2020

You should never start a sentence with the word “so”.

So after I Dinged Bing for not reporting on the riots this morning, must have shamed them into action. Now they are all over the story of the poor guy with the soccer ball face. David’s blog must have a much greater readership/influence than we all suspected. Well done Dave.

    3. phineas gage - August 17, 2020

Denny was just a truck driver doing his job who was dragged from his truck on the LA freeway and nearly turned into a vegetable by ‘peaceful protesters’ in the wake of Rodney King.

This issue will not end so long as the communists infest the country.

    https://www.commdiginews.com/politics-2/california-democrats-scheming-cant-scuttle-the-second-amendment-131658

I’m thinking the easiest and probably the best method of ensuring an end to this attack would be for Trump to ban all Demoncraps from owning guns. Pretty sure someone could run the data and show Dems are more prone to gun violence than any other demographic. Wonder what their response would be…

  14. Gregg - August 18, 2020

i would be happy if CRIMINALS were actually banned from getting guns. But I am speaking of mostly the same people.
