BOOM: Sen. Ron Johnson is not Messing Around With Christopher Wray’s FBI

In this morning’s Monday News Roundup, I noted a very aggressive series of tweets posted by Sen. Ron Johnson – Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee – taking Democrats like Richard Blumenthal to task for their myriad lies about his committee’s investigation of Spygate/Obamagate.

Just moments after I posted that piece, the great Catherine Herridge of CBS News issued this tweet:

Here’s the Text:

To: FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION

C/O Director Christopher Wray

YOU ARE HEREBY COMMANDED to appear before the COMMITTEE OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS of the Senate of the United States on August 20, 2020 at 5:00 p.m., at its committee room, 340 Dirksen Senate Office Building, Washington, DC 20510, then and there to produce all records related to the Crossfire Hurricane Investigation. This includes, but is not limited to, all records made available to the Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Justice for its review that resulted in the report “Review of the FISA Applications and Other Aspects of the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane Investigation; and all records related to the request to the General Services Administration (GSA) and the Office of the Inspector General of the GSA for presidential transition records for November 2016 through December 2017. The instructions and definitions for responding to this subpoena are attached hereto and made a part hereof.

Hereof fail not, as you will answer your default under the pains and penalties in such cases made and provided.

To staff representative of the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs to serve and return.

[End]

Holy crap. As Ms. Herridge notes, a similar subpoena is also being prepared to send to Jonathan Winer, who was at the State Department while Crossfire Hurricane was ongoing.

This will be a very interesting week, indeed.

That is all.

Today’s news moves at a faster pace than ever. Whatfinger is my go-to source for keeping up with all the latest events in real time.

Does anybody remember the Will Smith movie, Enemy of The State? Are we about to start seeing things happen? Remember when the Senator was in his hotel room with his admin and she was ummm, doing something? And the next day you had an admiral asking about equipment from the NSA being used to spy on a Senator? It looks like some Republican lawmakers have finally gotten a bee under their saddle. I am really hoping for fireworks soon, looks to be really interesting.

Yawnnnn….I think we all know where this is going. Like Durham`s bombshell investigation, we will be handed a “report”. Most people realize there are now four systems of justice in America….one for politicians….elites….us schleps and now the protester. What a crock of crap.

      Thanks, Eeeeyore.

It is simply amazing how you know all of this inside information. Can you tell us the identity of your secret source?

    3. phineas gage - August 10, 2020

Why would a federal prosecutor write a ‘report’ when that is not his job?

      1. Silas - August 10, 2020

As speculated before the report will eminate from AG Barr. Some folks seem to forget he wrote the summary for the Mueller witch hunt to make sure that we knew what was and wasn’t really in it and what it all boiled down to. Much to the demoncrats and the presstitues dismay and chagrin.

I certainly hope something will come of all this .Wray needs to go and go now Trump should fire him now.

About time that Smirking Rat is brought to the table to explain his slow walking of documents and covering for the Deep State.

I have often said that “an optimist never has a pleasant surprise”.  However, I remain optimistic that a serious form of justice is served up to these treasonous traitors.
One thing to remember though is that this same Bill Barr was the AG for elder Bush in 1992 during the FBI sniping murders of Vicki Weaver and her son.  This always tempers my optimism.

Whenever I get discouraged at the lack of justice, my wife reminds me that in the end, men will reap what they sow, God is not mocked. Galatians 6:7, and Romans 12:19 assures us that “vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”  Be assured that justice will be served, we just may not have a front row seat.

Up till now, all this huffing and puffing has produced NOTHING. But there is just too much smoke building for this fire not to erupt into a maelstrom that not even the media will be able to ignore. They won’t be able to ignore it because they will be hard at work trying to demonize it, by trying to say it is a ‘political stunt’ meant to impact the election.

I say let them! Go ahead and try; they have a lower credibility rating than congress.

As I told my former tenants when they were getting frustrated about closing on my former property, when it happens, it will happen very quickly and boom!, you are homeowners. And they are now homeowners.

While I agree with everyone here this has taken entirely too long, but in a way it is a good thing because while all the Obamagate stuff has been suppressed, it has been festering like a massive volcano just waiting to erupt. The longer something is avoided, the more severe the penalty, the more severe the damage, the more costly the consequences. History say this is the reality of the human experience.

President Trump obviously has faith in Barr and Durham and despite it taking forever, it will come out in full and all the rats will be exposed and removed from the swamp and with any real justice there will be a lot of jails will be filled.

At least that is my theory and I’m going to stick to it, because the reality is we have no choice.

As I said on the thread below, the timing is remarkable. It seems like a number of pieces are clicking together simultaneously. As DB says, an interesting week ahead.

    1. Silas - August 10, 2020

I would be willing to bet that Senator Johnson has been read in on what’s about to go down. I suspect a number of people have and are keeping their powder dry.

      1. Stuartswede - August 10, 2020

        Silas,
I completely agree with you about the fine Senator being “read in”, nothing else would explain his rapid kahuna growth, commanding that Mr. Ray appear. Reminds me of the Grinch’s heart growing to 10 times its size in an instant.

  12. ZolaHolt - August 10, 2020

These senators do not know how to question a witness! They let Rosenstein and Yates off the hook just as it was getting interesting. Graham is more interested in grandstanding than getting to the truth. Senators should get more time and have professional interrogators coaching them via text msg.

  13. phineas gage - August 10, 2020

How many of these negative commenters on the board are going to return to acknowledge their error if they are wrong?

    1. Boarwild - August 10, 2020

Phineas – I will. More than happy to eat crow over my previous negativity. However, after watching Barr on Levin last night, I am negative no longer. ;<)

  14. Stuartswede - August 10, 2020

Wisdom and experience enable you to recognize a mistake before you make it again. Hopefully Mr. Barr has learned a few things since 1992. I know I have. It will be nice to see a volcano eruption in DC, Gregg.

  15. MrTea - August 10, 2020

Catherine Herridge has been one of the very small number of network correspondents who appears to be doing actual journalism. I was worried when she moved from Fox to CBS, given how they treated Sharyl Attkisson (if you are not watching her “Full Measure” show either on TV or online you are missing some rare unadulterated reality). I don’t see how anybody who has kept track of the intel fiasco going back to how they “got” Flynn (and before that protected the Clintons) could fail to see the ghastly array of crimes involved here. We shall see soon I guess.

sundance says it is this Friday or else:

He further believes that Johnson and everyone else in the Senate is a waste of time. Barr and Durham deliver, or they don’t.

  17. marty lopez - August 10, 2020

So what? Just more showboating and Barr does nothing

  18. bob - August 10, 2020

wake me up when someone is indicted and charged. it will never happen,. we have a two tiered justice system in America and only the little people are ever charged.
