Deborah Birx Surrenders to her Character Assassin

Birx predictably caves to Pelosi. – In one of the most disgusting bits of DC Swamp Kabuki Theater we have seen during the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Deborah Birx played her role to the hilt on Sunday after despicable Nancy Pelosi had made rude and condescending comments about her performance over the past few months. Pelosi, of course, laughably contends Birx has been too loyal to the President and has failed to follow Anthony Fauci in making blatantly false and conflicting statements designed to whip up public hysteria.

So, what does Birx do to defend herself from the Speaker’s unfounded attacks? Why, she lavished praise on one of the most obviously corrupt politicians in American history and went all Fauci about the coronavirus, of course.

From a piece at ABC:

“I think the president is spreading disinformation about the virus and she is his appointee,” Pelosi said. “So I don’t have confidence there, no.”

Pelosi doubled down on her criticism of Birx again on Monday, taking her to task for not challenging Trump about the outbreak and the administration’s lack of a national coronavirus plan.

“I don’t have confidence and anyone who stands there while the president says, ‘Swallow Lysol and it’s going to cure your virus.’ … I don’t have confidence in somebody when the president says it’s a hoax, it’s magic,” Pelosi said on CNN. “She has enabled [him].”

“This administration has not had a strategic plan for the six months we’ve known about the virus,” the California Democrat continued. “There has to be some responsibility, so if the president is saying these things, who is advising him that this is OK and enabling that to happen?”

Birx responded to the “no confidence” comment on CNN on Sunday by complimenting Pelosi before defending her own credibility.

“I have tremendous respect for the speaker. And I have tremendous respect for her long dedication to the American people,” Birx said.

Raising a recent article from the New York Times, which portrayed Birx as someone who at times tailored her analysis of the pandemic to better suit the politics of the administration, Birx insisted her response is driven by data, not politics.

“I have never been called pollyannish, or nonscientific, or non-data driven,” she told CNN Sunday. “And I will stake my 40-year career on those fundamental principles of utilizing data to really implement better programs to save more lives.”

Birx also warned that the pandemic has entered “a new phase,” contradicting the president’s persistently optimistic predictions as he pushes schools to reopen for full in-person instruction and resists any reversals on reopenings.

“I want to be very clear: What we are seeing today is different from March and April. It is extraordinarily widespread. It’s into the rural as equal urban areas,” Birx told CNN. “To everybody who lives in a rural area, you are not immune or protected from this virus.”

When asked about a prediction there could be 300,000 deaths by the end of the year, Birx said, “Anything is possible.” She went on to emphasize social distancing and suggest that some Americans in multi-generational families should start wearing masks inside their homes and assume they already have the virus.

[End]

Let’s start by noting that ABC refuses to point out that Pelosi is outright lying when she accuses the President of telling people to “swallow Lysol,” something that never happened. Let’s also note that the President has never, not one time, referred to the virus itself as a “hoax” as Pelosi falsely contends in this piece without correction by ABC. He has referred to the media/Democrat efforts to whip up hysteria about it a “hoax,” and that is a perfectly accurate description of what the media and Democrats have done.

Now to Birx.

Her response is, in a word, pathetic. Her slavish praise of an utterly corrupt tyrant is undeserved and frankly disgusting. It is a sign of weakness and a gesture of surrender. Her comments about the virus entering a “new phase” simply parrot pronouncements Fauci has made repeatedly, offering fear without giving any specifics, a Fauci core competency. Her advocacy that families start wearing masks in the home – after telling the American public on national TV just 3 months ago that masks were completely ineffective at preventing the spread of the virus – amount to 17th century-style blood-letting quackery.

Prior to her Sunday interview, the White House properly defended Birx from Pelosi’s character assassination:

Indeed, the Speaker’s attacks on Birx’s character were so beyond the pale that I almost wrote a post on Sunday defending her myself, but I decided to hold off until I saw Birx’s response. I’m glad now I hit that pause button.

Following Birx’s unilateral surrender to the Speaker, the President had a very predictable response:

See, President Trump doesn’t like surrender monkeys and they don’t like him, which explains the whole “never Trump” movement led by gutless wonders like Stephen Hayes, Max Boot and Bill Kristol.

The worst mistake President Trump has made during this entire pandemic was to listen to Anthony Fauci and Deborah Birx over the advice of other advisors. Following their advice is why our nation is in the situation it is in today.

The best response the President could have for the good of the nation today would be to say “Fine, Nancy, I don’t have any confidence in Dr. Birx either, and she’s fired. Come to think of it, Fauci’s fired, too” and start taking advice from real doctors who treat real patients, and from real parents who have real kids who have already lost a year of learning due to our national insanity over this virus.

Then we could all sit back and watch every leftist head on the face of the earth explode simultaneously. It would be glorious.

That is all.

Today’s news moves at a faster pace than ever. Whatfinger is my go-to source for keeping up with all the latest events in real time.

Please Mr. President, DO THIS! And NOW! Enough of these two fear promoting, economy wrecking, education destroying (remember when all the education establishment (teacher’s unions), while shaking down the country for more money, supposedly cared for “the children” – eh, not so much now), subversives masquerading as public health ‘professionals’.

While I’m glad the president fired the head of the TVA for hiring foreigners over Americans and shutting down “TicTok” or whatever it really is called, he needs some high profile firings which many of us here have been clamoring for here for years.

Why can’t he get the head of the CDC to fire his subordinates fluki and the scarf queen (how did you find a pix of fluki’s girlfriend sans scarf – she must have felt naked (block that image); maybe she didn’t have time to get her outfit together a tryst…?

AG Barr should also relieve Wray of his duties.

Can’t do that because of the panicked female vote. It is just that simple.

    The election overrides everything else.

Pelosi is clearly trying to goad Trump into doing it-now why do you think that is?

Not holding my breath until the Fauxi and the scarf lady are dismissed by President Donald J. Trump. He’s in a tight spot right now. The left will go apoleptic if they are cut loose. Which they should be. The not-so-dynamic duo should have been cut out over the HCQ cocktail debacle. So much evidence exists which points to Fauxi profiting from the continued denigration of anything outside of big pharma solution to the kung flu. Not to mention his ties to the Gates Foundation and the Wuhan lab where the kung flu seems to have originated.
Follow the money. Then fire both the Fauxi and the scarf lady. The sight and sound of the exploding leftists heads might be worth it. Almost the same as when PDJT wins Nov. 3rd.

Your last sentence is an assumption that is not warranted unless the GOP and Trump administration wake up to what is happening.

Focus on what matters–preventing mail-in voting at all costs.

The Dems simply want to distract attention from their organized effort to steal this election. If they succeed, nothing else is ever going to matter, much less Fauci or Birx.

I think Phineas is correct, its to close to election day to be firing the obvious seditionists. The screaming banshees would be given extra airtime to bellow about the dictator Trump, in attempts to take any attention of gropey joe away

Whats Pence doing??? It was supposed to be him that was the head of the task force no??? . Why isn’t this being handled by Pence, he should be in the spot light explaining whats going on and NOT be giving the ok for these careerists to voice opposing rubbish. Where is the Chief Medical Officer?? Why isn’t he at the forefront giving briefings instead???

    1. phineas gage - August 4, 2020

Good observation. I have never trusted Pence–that may be entirely unfair, but there it is.

    2. Gregg - August 4, 2020

Yep Brian, Pence’s stock as the successor has certainly diminished over his ‘handling’ of CV-19.

Yes, where is Trump’s Surgeon General in all this???

I think the political hit of firings right now would be well worth it, but I understand the concern. The left will yell regardless.

However, on Nov 4, after a decisive Trump win, heads had better roll in his administration and all over the swamp.

Like any sane President who will be unfetterd after his re-election concerns, there will so much action going on it will make the demoncrats shriek, knash teeth and pull out hair by the ton. And maybe we’ll get lucky and few might stroke out or suffer severe mental and emotional breakdowns.

If I could eat popcorn, I would have a Costco super humongus bag on hand for that alone.

People, wake up! We must all demand that President Trump remove anyone in his Presidency that advocates against ANY of our rights. Gates, Fauci and Birx are working together to become wealthier with this farce. Let God heal you, period. We are no longer safe letting others interfere in our health. It is not, nor has it ever been their business. JUST SAY NO! Your body is yours alone. The more rights you give up the more they will take, trust me.

    1. brian - August 4, 2020

oh no… You only have the ‘rights’ to your body if you are a woman and wanting to kill your unborn child… The communists hypocrisy knows no bounds…

    2. Sam-I-Am - August 4, 2020

      “Your body is yours alone”
OK, so you approve of prostitution?
Who’s body is the unborn babies?

Brix needs to grow a backbone and stand up to these morons like Nasty Pelosi. How pathetic. Trump should fire her.

    1. brian - August 4, 2020

Shes a died in the scarf leftist shes not about to get ‘cancelled’ and lose all the nice money and connections to the pharma and medical elites that shes smoozed into over the long years. Shes every bit as slimey as nasty piglosey, just not a drunken slurring skank.
