America Must Decouple From China *UPDATED*

We must decouple from China. – The Houston fire department sent trucks to the Consulate of China in that city on Tuesday after receiving reports of a fire going on outside the facility. There they discovered Chinese officials burning thousands of documents.

After the incident the ChiCom government said it had been ordered to close the facility by the U.S. government. The State Department confirmed the action, saying it had been taken “to protect American intellectual property and Americans’ private information.”

Oh.

From a story at Fox News:

China on Wednesday condemned what it called an “unprecedented escalation” by the United States and threatened to retaliate after it was ordered to close the Chinese consulate in Houston.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said in a daily news briefing that the government had been told without warning Tuesday to close the consulate.

He said the consulate had been operating normally Tuesday and called the alleged move an “unprecedented escalation,” the South China Morning Post reported.

“China demands the U.S. revoke the wrong decision. If the U.S. went ahead, China would take necessary countermeasures,” Wang said.

In a statement sent to Fox News, State Department Spokesperson Morgan Ortagus confirmed the directive and said it was issued “to protect American intellectual property and Americans’ private information.”

The U.S. “will not tolerate the PRC’s violations of our sovereignty and intimidation of our people, just as we have not tolerated the PRC’s unfair trade practices, theft of American jobs, and other egregious behavior,” she added. “President Trump insists on fairness and reciprocity in U.S.-China relations.”

Documents were burned inside the consulate’s courtyard Tuesday evening, KPRC-TV in Houston reported.

“You could just smell the paper burning,” a witness told the station. “But, all the firefighters were just surrounding the building. They couldn’t go inside.”

No word if LeBron James, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and Mark Cuban were there helping with the document burning, but it seems likely.

UPDATE: Just in case you doubt the story about the burning of documents, here is video of it happening:

All of this action took place bare hours after the U.S. accused hackers of trying to hack four different firms at the behest of the ChiCom government in an attempt to steal intellectual property related to potential COVID-19 vaccines.

From a report at the Wall Street Journal:

The U.S. government accused two hackers in China of targeting U.S. firms involved in coronavirus research, in a wide-ranging indictment that alleged the pair also stole hundreds of millions of dollars in sensitive information from companies around the world while working on behalf of Beijing’s premier spy service.

The indictment is the first from the U.S. to link a foreign government to a campaign of cyber theft intended to leapfrog other nations in the global race to find a vaccine to blunt the pandemic, which has killed more than 600,000 world-wide. It is intended as a warning to companies and research labs—the Trump administration had previously publicly accused China and Russia of engaging in hacking efforts related to coronavirus, but hadn’t brought any criminal charges.

Li Xiaoyu, 34 years old, and Dong Jiazhi, 33, have pilfered valuable secrets from companies, research institutions and defense contractors in the U.S. and nine other countries for more than a decade, according to the indictment that was unsealed Tuesday. They also provided China’s spy agency with the passwords of email accounts belonging to dissidents, including a Hong Kong community organizer and the pastor of a Christian church, prosecutors said.

The indictment accuses the pair, described as former engineering classmates in Chengdu, of acting both for personal profit and to feed information to China’s Ministry of State Security, a spy agency often implicated in U.S. cyber prosecutions. They are believed to be in China and were unable to be reached for comment.

While the Justice Department usually tries to wait to unseal indictments until defendants are in custody, the agency has made public a number of indictments of foreign hackers who remain outside the U.S. Officials have argued that the benefit of disclosing evidence against the hackers outweighs the limited prospect of ever forcing them into a U.S. courtroom.

Oh.

No word if the two arrested hackers were on the payrolls of Apple, AT&T, CNN, The New York Times or The Washington Post, but it seems likely.

Meanwhile, the corrupt American news media was completely ignoring this big story about U.S./India trade negotiations:

India and the US are close to inking a “quick” trade deal, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said Tuesday, adding that the pact aims to get issues that have been pending over the past couple of years “out of the way”.

Following this, Goyal said, India wants to negotiate with its top trading partner for a preferential trade agreement for 50-100 goods and services.

Indications are that the negotiations involve discussions to improve access for India’s generic drugs to the American market. The US, on its part, has been seeking more access for its farm goods, like almonds and apples, on which India had raised tariffs last year.

The US has also been trying to get India to remove a requirement that dairy imports from that country bear a certificate showing that the animals from which the products were derived were not fed “blood meals”, a dietary supplement derived from blood.

“I think the US and India are natural allies…In the long term, I believe we have a quick trade deal, which has some of the pending matters built up over the last couple of years, which we need to get out of the way quickly,” Goyal said at the virtual US-India Business Council’s India Ideas Summit.

“We are almost there. I think another couple of calls and we should be able to sort that out,” he said.

Sources told The Indian Express that the issues under discussion are “largely” the same as before, as negotiations had initially hit a speed bump because of the Covid pandemic.

India’s pharmaceuticals industry has been seeking increased access for its generic drugs, said sources. Indian drugs currently account for nearly 40 per cent of supply in the US market.

[End]

Who would you trust more to supply your pharmaceuticals: The thuggish ChiCom regime that is currently enslaving Hong Kong? Or the very friendly democratic government of India?

What those paying attention have seen in real time over the past 3-1/2 years has been the Trump administration executing a strategic decoupling of the U.S. from China. China’s intentional spread of a viral plague to the rest of the world is only working to speed up that process.

Of course, the big pushback on the Trump policy of decoupling comes from the fact that so many major corporations are entangled with the ChiComs in a huge way, and spend billions lobbying corrupt politicians in congress to keep the U.S. reliant on the largesse of a sworn enemy. The same dynamic is in place in our media and entertainment industries, as well as the National Basketball Association, whose star players and commissioner are simply prohibited from uttering negative words about the brutal ChiCom regime.

This is Corporate Socialism at its ugliest and most destructive to our society, and it must end. If President Trump loses this election, then China Joe Biden, whose family has enriched itself by looting the ChiCom government for hundreds of millions of dollars, will make sure it doesn’t. Because that kind of corrupt enrichment does not come without strings.

The choice is yours.

That is all.

It had always been obvious, to me at least, that we have a lot more in common with India than China. This is a smart path.

  2. Pete - July 22, 2020

This is a good move but I would trust the manufactures in the US to make our pharmaceuticals

  3. phineas gage - July 22, 2020

is the inference that the Chinese consulate officials in Houston were burning documents related to the hacking effort? Or something else?

    1. phineas gage - July 22, 2020

And who keeps vital information on paper today anyways? Very odd.

  4. Raccoonrevolution - July 22, 2020

Which would I rather have making my pharmaceuticals china or India? How about using US territory. Puerto Rico used to do this let them do it again.

    1. Silas - July 22, 2020

Puerto Rico is too corrupt now. Anybody trying to set up a business there will be subject to all kinds of demoncrat taxes and fees.

600,000 dead worldwide out 8 billion world wide. .0075% Effing pandmeic my ass. And the sheeple keep listening to the secm propaganda and the tyrants keep locking down their
    states because CORONA!

    1. brian - July 22, 2020

Its actually far less than that. The 600,000 is how many people died of the ‘regular’ influenza last year. And, BECAUSE there were efforts made stating this was far worse than the influenza, these slimes had to make it happen.

The numbers were/are inflated and still being manipulated in order to keep the panic going and ‘prove’ that its justifiable panic… see… the numbers prove us right, they screech. If the real numbers were given it would likely be half of that again and that just won’t induce the panic and subservience needed to control you.

Like I stated earlier, the panic porn isn’t about to go away. The constant drone of needing a vaccine and propaganda even with in commercials is astonishing. I really had no idea it was as bad as it is, not having had ‘TV’ for decades now.

      Its a war… information war…
